gambling for your hand
Genre: crack and fluff
A shuntaro chishiya x reader
A kakegurui AU!
Synopsis: You were forced to attend hyakkaou academy with your brother, rin and hia childhood friend, ibara. You truly had no intention of gambling not until you meet eyes with a certain blonde student. Shuntaro chishiya decides to challenge your amused brother in a gamble. the bet? Your hand. What happens when rin decides to intentionally lose to throw you into a journey through wonderland with your new master?
a/n: yes, I am still obsessed with kakegurui and rin leave me alone 🙄 I'm also planning on writing for rin very soon hehe. I just miss the aib fandom so amma try to contribute a bit more! Hope you guys enjoy! Let's get started.
"okay, I get why you're here but why did I have to get dragged into this?" you grumbled to Rin Obami, your charismatic brother. your driver stopped in front of the main entrance of hyakkaou academy. So this was where the head of the hundred devouring families ruled.
"because you're the heiress of the Obami family after me." the swindler turned to face you, nudging you teasingly. "and I actually want you to join in on the fun." he joked. You rolled your eyes at this notion. He took your hand and pulled you out of the car. He Let go of your hand and proceeded to walk beside you in the halls with his head held high. His true emotions hidden under his smiling mask.
You knew he doesn't always smile like this. Carrying the family name on his shoulders whittled the poor man down at such a young age. You were born a year later. Rin was attached to you by the hip. He chose to protect you. You were thankful that Rin kept you from experiencing all that pressure and helped you grow up differently from him. He wanted you to experience the things he hadn't had a chance to see.
Rin wasn't just your brother, he grew up as a father figure for you. This was the least you could do to support him.
Soon, you reached the closed door of the student council room. In the hallway, everyone else from momobami family branches. You glanced at Rin's unwavering posture before you plastered on your practiced charismatic grin. you dove in head first to reconvene with your old colleagues.
It was time to get ready to take back the crown from the reigning queen of the families.
The introduction was quick and straight to the point. This election was about the other family heads going up against the current leader. You couldn't care less about this whole vote thing. You knew Rin would say the opposite. He must've hatched a plan to get more votes despite being the new kid by now.
You planned on playing a simple game of rock paper scissors against your brother in front of a moderator by the end of the day. But plans changed.
The cafeteria was littered with people trying to gamble their vote chips away for fun. Some people gambled out of boredom, some gambled to rise up the ranks and maybe even get a shot of winning the seat of student council president. Either way, you didn't care.
"do you have something up your sleeve, Rin?" you asked as you slurped some of your ramen. Ibara's eyes lit up as he rambled about the new scumcoin system Rin came up with while the man himself just sat with that same charismatic grin as he scrolled through his phone.
The small tranquil moment was ruined when a student came up to the table, clearing his throat to gain your table's attention. Rin placed his phone on the table then rested his chin on his hand in anticipation. This aught to be good.
"hello," the man who spoke was a lean male with long blond locks that framed his face. His hands were tucked into his pressed red uniform. "I was wondering if anyone was willing to gamble their vote chips with me." he said, pulling out about ten vote chips from his pocket. Rin's forced smile grew wider at the man. The slight twitch in his grin didn't go unnoticed to you. Was he irritated because the stranger interrupted one of the tranquil moments he can enjoy or was he amused because a student was willing to gamble with him?
"well, I'm not interested in gambling. Sorry." you said, taking another slurp of ramen as you tapped your sole vote chip on the desk. You were startled when you saw Rin shift in his seat enthusiastically.
"I'm willing to gamble." Rin raised his hand up only for him to falter and try to put it back down. "but I don't have many votes yet…" he pouted. You turned to see that the blonde was just smirking at your brother while he tossed the chips in his palm.
"that's fine. I think we have something to gamble on." the stranger said, turning to you with a glint in his eye. Your eyes snapped back to your smug brother who still smiled, only this time it was filled with malice. No. he was not serious with this, right? Right? Rin arched his brow at the male, gesturing for him to continue.
"We can play a bit of concentration." the stranger said, pulling a deck of cards from his other pocket. "if you win, I'll give you all my votes, I have 12 so far." he said, tossing his votes on the lunch table. His gaze turned to you, his smirking widening. "but if I win, I get to have her as my kitty." he pointed at you. You stood up in shock. No way. No fucking way.
You opened your mouth to speak only to get stopped by Rin who stood beside you. "we have a deal." your brother lent his hand for the stranger to shake. The stranger only chuckled before he linked his hand with your brother's and shook it.
"woah woah woah! Hold on a second!" you tried to gain the pair's attention. "first off, we don't even know you." you pointed out, crossing your arms. "second, I am not going to be used for a gamble, Rin." you grumbled, poking your hand into Rin's chest causing the man to chuckle in amusement.
"oh come on, (y/n), it might be fun~ trust me on this one. Right mr…" Rin tried to reassure you. He paused and turned to the smirking blonde in front of you.
"chishiya." he finished your brother's sentence, flashing you with a menacing smirk that made a shiver shoot up your spine.
"well, chishiya. Let's get started?" Rin waved his hand over the table, inviting him to get the cards out. Chishiya chuckled before he nodded, opening the new deck and placing it on the table.
Even though you trusted your brother to win this, his grin felt like it had a different intention. You could only hope it wasn't the case, that Rin was actually taking this gamble seriously.
Rin was definitely not taking this seriously. That bastard.
You and ibara were on the edge of your seat as you watched Chishiya get three pairs in a row. You didn't know if Rin was fucking with you or if chishiya was just that good.
"and that's the end." chishiya said, pulling the final pair he needed to win the game. You looked over at Rin and instead of that old fake grin he always had on or that scowl that occasionally would slip out if he lost, his face wore a small taunting pout. It took all your strength to jump up from your seat and strangle him.
"such a bummer... What can i do? I lost fair and square." Rin shrugged. He slouched as he sat back down and let out a small disappointed sigh. It was blatantly obvious that he was faking it. "a deal's a deal. (y/n) is your new kitty." Rin gestured to Chishiya to look at you. you unconsciously gritted your teeth.
"your little act is so obvious despite being raised by swindlers." you rolled your eyes. Your statement gained you your brother's attention. "okay, spill it. Why the fuck did you decide to lose on purpose?" you grumbled. You didn't care if Chishiya could listen in on the conversation. You needed answers. Now.
Rin darkly chuckled. There was definitely an ulterior motive here. You were going to get to the bottom of it.
"come on, (y/n). This is going to be a good learning experience for you. Besides, i'm sure chishiya will throw you for a loop and maybe even help you enjoy your stay here!" Rin encouraged you. You were speechless. So he really wanted you to do this, huh?
"ugh, fine. It's not like i have a choice." you groaned. You stood from your seat and walked toward the lean male. "hello chishiya..." you said curtly, causing the blonde's smirk to grow wider.
"hello little kitty~" he replied to you. He took a step closer to taunt you. You felt your cheeks grow hot at this notion. "we should get going. So much for you to see in wonderland~" he sang. You could've sworn he winked at you before he turned his back and walked out of the cafeteria.
You glanced back at your smug brother and his friend one last time before you jogged out of the cafeteria to catch up with your new master.
You could tell that this was going to be hell.
Chishiya led you into one of the many lounge rooms. He opened the door to reveal three people inside. There was a girl with braids in her hair, her feet up on the coffee table in the middle of the room. There was a short-haired girl who sat beside a soft looking guy, a chain wrapped around his neck, the words 'house pet' visible from where you stood by the entrance.
"welcome back, chishiya!" the girl with the braids said, kicking her feet off the table. It was then she finally properly noticed you. She tilted her head in confusion. It seemed like they rarely had guests in their little friend group.
Chishiya placed the stack of vote chips he accumulated for the day on the coffee table before he sat down himself. His observant eyes locked onto yours, telling you to sit down with the group.
"are you going to introduce us?" the short-haired girl asked. the anxious boy who fiddled with the chain around his neck. You sat down between chishiya and the girl with the braids who chewed on some gum stick while her eyes roamed up and down your body.
"this is (y/n), my new kitty." chishiya whispered with a proud smirk, his fingers ghosting over the skin of your arm, causing you to shiver and pull away. Chishiya couldn't help but chuckle. "(y/n), the girl beside you is Kuina, the short-haired girl on the doggy's lap is usagi and the house pet is Arisu. Get acquainted with them cause you'll be hanging out with them until you can get out of here."
You rolled his eyes at him. Why was he so casual about this? Well, you weren't just going to take this lying down. You stood up. Chishiya only arched his brow at you expectantly. You felt a strong urge to punch him.
"okay, what's the big deal? Why did you play against my brother and why did you use me as a prize?" you asked angrily. The other three people just watched this unfold in their seats, interested to see where this conversation was going.
"well, because playing against new students are fun. Gives them an impression what gambling here is all about. It wasn't my fault that your brother agreed to our gamble." chishiya replied nonchalantly. He leaned in his seat, picked up a vote chip from the small pile and started playing with it in his fingers, aiming to spite you. And boy, did it work.
"so how can I get out of this deal?" you asked, crossing your arms over your chest. All you wanted was to support Rin and help him though the fog that clouded his mind at times. But now, you're doomed to stay by chishiya's side. Not if you can handle it. There has to be a way out.
chishiya wasn't all that uptight. He was more than willing to play along and negotiate. You never realized the glint in his eyes had the effect of get on people's nerves easily. Maybe he was doing it on purpose to anger you more. Emotions and gambling did not bode well. He was using people's emotions against them. And frankly, this spell was working on you too. The irritation of not being able to support Rin was nipping at you and you just wanted to go.
And it was clear that you were willing to do anything to grasp that freedom.
The only thing chishiya has to do now was wait for you to bite down. With enough patience, you'll playing right into his little game, a truly difficult one to get out of.
To chishiya, You just might be his most amusing little plaything.
"how about this, you can challenge me to any game you wish, whenever you feel like it." chishiya proposed, making sure the other people in the room could hear him loud and clear, making them witnesses to the deal he wanted to make.
"there's a catch, is there?"
"bingo~" he sang, slouching in his seat, "the bets will always stay the same. If you win, you'll get to leave. No questions asked." he said as he stood up. He took a step toward you, further startling you when he placed his fingers under your chin, making you look into his cat-like eyes. "but if I win, you'll have to stay and get to know me better~"
You reel back in disgust. No fucking way. He must be kidding. By the looks of his widening grin, it was definitely a sick joke. He couldn't help but laugh at your reaction. "oh how dirty~" he teased, dropping his arm around your shoulder. "don't worry, those aren't my intentions. I meant you'll have to stay with my colleagues and I and hang out with us until you have guts you challenge me again." you let out the breath you were nervously holding in. "so, do we have a deal?" he finally asked, lending a hand out for you to shake.
You didn’t see any other option so you swallowed up your pride and shake the blonde's hand, thinking of the games and strategies to play against the blonde man above you.
It was harder than you thought.
Everyday for the next few weeks, you would challenge him to a game and everyday he would catch on to your strategy and crush to a pulp.
It wasn't all that bad, kuina, arisu and usagi were there to keep you company, getting you to laugh when you felt down from another loss.
"you know, you should take a break and have a bit of fun with us." Kuina nudged you out of your thoughts, handing you seven uno cards. You sighed before taking it from her, albeit, very hesitantly. "oh come on, don't look at me like that. There's no bet involved." kuina reassured you, making you smile, looking at the starting card, a yellow 6.
After playing for a while, the topics branched out from the game to the only person not in the room, chishiya.
"chishiya might look laid-back and easy to get to, but he's really clever." Arisu said, placing down a red stop card to keep usagi from playing her card. "that's why I gambled with him and That was a very bad decision." he shivered in his seat, causing the rest of you to burst into a fit of laughter.
"but really, (y/n), he cares about you, more than the rest of us." usagi said, watching you place down a +4, looking up from the table in confusion.
"look, chishiya is very difficult to read but it isn't impossible, especially if you're his 'colleague'." kuina made quotation marks with her hand. "he would ask us about your well-being every day." kuina smirked, locking eyes with Arisu who smiled back at her.
"and remember those chocolates I gave you after one of your games? Those were from him, said I should give them to you if you looked upset with the loss." Arisu continued Kuina's statement, his eyes locked on kuina's hand that picked up four cards from the deck.
you felt your face heat up. Could it be that the emotionless chishiya actually feels something for you? Did you feel something for him?
Well, if you based your emotions on your quickening heartbeat, maybe that was the case. You're in love with your master and you haven't realized it before it was too late. You're in too deep. The group watched as you buried your face into your hands in thought. What could you do to confirm your suspicions? You dug through your thoughts for a while before a lightbulb came up. You had a plan. You looked up just in time to see chishiya walk into the room with his usual sloppy smirk.
"oooh~ what are we talking about?" he asked, plopping down beside you, leaning to look at the current game on the table. The trio only giggled before continuing on with the game. He didn't even bat an eye when he saw you staring at him in the corner of his eye. Just that small inkling of attention, made his ego grow larger. He was already in too deep, what's a few more feet, right?
"I wanna challenge you again." you said out of the blue, placing your cards on the table. Your words cause the rest of the group to gape in shock. You already challenged him today. You were already prepared to fight him again?
Chishiya arched his brow at you In amusement. He was prepared to hear what you had to say. His eyes followed your figure as You took all the uno cards and arranged them neatly into a deck.
"we play a 1 on 1 game of uno." you proposed as you shuffled the deck in your hand. "but I want to change the bets this time." your words caused the trio to murmur in confusion. What were you doing? Chishiya only chuckled at you, waiting for the rest of your proposal.
"if I win, I get to ask you a question and if you win, you can have my hand for life." chishiya's eyes widened in realization before he chuckled. He realized that you finally caught on to what he felt. The trio seemed to be left in the dark.
"so if I win, we get to be in a mutual relationship with one another?" chishiya cleared it up for everyone in the room. You nodded. Arisu and kuina's jaws dropped to the floor while usagi watched the scene unfold with a small smile.
"well, if you insist." chishiya shrugged, clasping his hands and resting his chin on them, waiting for the game to begin.
Alas, the game didn't go as chishiya planned.
Throughout the whole game, you seemed to have the upper hand. Chishiya's expression changed from confident to anxious in a few turns as his hand grew while yours shrank.
"this is the first time I've ever seen him with a frown during a game." usagi whispered to kuina who had to stifle her giggles so as to not interrupt chishiya's focus.
"could it be? Has our chishiya underestimated (y/n)?" kuina whispered back, unable to keep her giggles in for much longer. Chishiya snapped his head toward the pair and glared at them. Arisu has never seen him this worked up in his life.
You placed down your final card, a red +2 onto the pile, yelling 'uno!' with a triumphant grin on his face. The trio deflated in disappointed. This was the one game they wanted chishiya to win but unfortunately, that didn't happen.
Chishiya let out a dejected sigh. The one time where winning matters, he decided to not take it seriously and lose. "Okay, you won fair and square." he said, the usual melodic tone in his voice replaced with a slightly disappointed breathiness. "well, what was it you wanted to ask?" he asked, dropping his remaining cards into the messy pile.
"Well," you said, crossing your legs together, your ego boosted by the disappointed look the blonde wore in front of you. "I wanted to ask if you still want to have that mutual relationship." you said, mimicking the smirk he usually wore.
Chishiya's slight frown turned into a genuine smile. So he was getting what he wanted either way. Even a person like him couldn't hide his happiness. He tapped his finger on his chin, pretending to think. His little act caused the trio to stay on the edge of their seats in anticipation. "well…" chishiya pretended to ponder for a moment, watching as his grin grew wider by the moment. "your determination was really fun to play with… maybe a serious status wouldn't be that bad." he feigned a neutral shrug.
"so is that a yes? Are you like together together now?" Kuina asked excitedly, wanting confirmation. You and chishiya laughed before nodding your heads in unison.
It all started with a gamble, putting you in what you thought was a horrible position. But now you have your brother to take for losing the gamble that started It all. Because without him playing along, you would never have met chishiya and his gang. You never would've had fun with them.
Without Rin, you would have never fallen in love with your former master, chishiya.
And that Is all! I worked on this for 3 days. I really enjoyed writing this and I hope you enjoyed reading this just as much! Requests are open if you want to leave anything! I love you guys ❤️💖💕

The Substitute Lover (1)
word count: 2k
genre: fluff, angst hehe
pairing: myg x reader
summary: Finally meeting the college boy you've been eyeing on for months, everything goes wrong when you realise what you're really getting yourself into.
a/n: this is my first ever fic!! i hope you guys take time and read it 🥺 suggestions are welcome! NEXT | PREVIOUS
Moving to Seoul was a dream come true. For someone who lived in the farmland of Daegu, you always imagined what the city would be like. A concrete jungle far from the roaring fields that's all you've ever known, a breath of fresh air— metaphorically speaking.
Fuelled by dreams, and frankly a few wons to your name— you took the risk and moved your life in order to pursue your studies in the metro. Your thoughts drift to the heaps of paperwork that needs to be accomplished after this and frankly, you are exhausted.
You sigh, as you finally step in your worn down but still livable apartment. You got it for a really good deal since your mother is a friend of the landlady. You tried your best to make it as homey as you can. Placing a few touches of home to every corner.
"What does this even mean?" you wondered aloud, reading the email for the third time as if it would magically unsend itself. It was from the professor of your Humanities class, announcing the change of schedule. Your afternoon classes are now moved to morning, taking away all of the few hours of rest you get after getting home. You groaned and moved the cursor to tick the 'agreed' box. It's not like you have a choice anyways.
You drag your feet to class the next morning, sitting to the far right corner and preventing any interaction from the fellow victims of the change in schedule. Confused if your eyes are playing tricks, your hands flew to your thick-rimmed glasses to push it further up your nose. Then you saw it, the mint green hair that stood out in every room. To say that he intrigued you is an understatement. You are drawn to him, like a moth to a flame. You keep on looking for him at every corner of the campus, just catching a glimpse of him makes your day. He as usual is squished between his two friends who are chattering in the early hours of the morning.
The professor arrived not long after, immediately discussing the basic concept of Humanities, you scramble to get a pen and your notebook. If there's one thing you take seriously, it's your studies. You did not risk everything and moved here just to slack off.
The mint hair boy suddenly forgotten, you blink in shock as an orange head snapped to view your direction.
"Hi, I'm Hoseok. May I borrow a pen?" He asks, a hand rubbing his nape. You nodded mutely handing a pen, trying to show nonchalance that he is talking to me. The interaction had the student council president, if you remember correctly, shake his head.
"What? It's not my fault that you refused to lend me one despite of bringing a whole school supply store with you all the time." Hoseok muttered to which the president tried to counter, earning a snarl from the mint haired boy in the middle to shut the banter up.
Lecture flew by and hungry for a few hours more of sleep, you dash to the exit only to hear a voice calling out a 'hey'. You turned to look and see Hoseok waving your pen in the air.
You smiled and grabbed the pen from his hand. You bowed out of respect, and turned to leave. Only for Hoseok to grab your arm, making you halt and gently pull away.
He sheepishly smiled and apologised for catching you off guard. "It's just, I didn't get your name!" he chirped.
Panic bubbled inside you as you see his two friends catch up to him. You were not prepared at all to meet the boy you've been eyeing on for months.
"Y/N." You replied shortly and bowed again as you turned to leave. It was too late as you hear a new voice address you.
"Hey, Y/N? I've been wanting to know your name for months! Aren't you the one who stole my spot as the top Scrabble player in the campus?" The student campus president joked to which you gave a hearty laugh back, remembering the match.
"That's me." You replied curtly. You really want to leave, the zoo in your stomach will be the death of you. The boy who is silent until now is busy adjusting the case of his guitar.
"Well, it's nice to meet you. This is Yoongi." he gestured to the mint haired boy who just looked up. He gave you a curt nod that shot electricity to your veins.
"Let's eat lunch together, Y/N!" Hoseok beamed, catching all of us off guard. You racked your brain for an excuse but found none. Here you are 30 minutes later, trying to answer every question Hoseok and Namjoon have for you.
You learned that all of them are voice majors, Yoongi and Hoseok minored in guitar while Namjoon in flute. They had to retake Humanities because they failed to take the final exam due to the conflict of schedule thus the need to enroll again this semester.
Quietly finishing your meal, you nod off to the trio and started to gather your things. You fixed your thick rimmed glasses and your skirt that reached your ankles. Namjoon eyed you from head to toe, not bothering to hide the judgment that came with it. You shrugged and bid goodbye.
"Thank you for the company. See you guys around." You bid and thinking that it's probably your last and only chance to talk to Yoongi, you call for him.
"See you around, Yoongi." You beamed. Hoseok roared with laughter as Yoongi blushed from the sudden attention. Namjoon watched in amusement as the whole scene plays out.
You finally, turned to leave the trio behind.
-----------------------------------------
After a week, it was time for your Humanities class again. This time, you arrived earlier, sitting at your usual spot.
Not long after, students started filing in the the classroom. That's when you spotted a familiar orange head. He excitedly waved at you and grabbed onto Yoongi and Namjoon's arms for them to come and sit next to you.
You laugh heartily and paid them no mind. Hoseok whispered next to you if you wanted to eat lunch again after class. You nodded, truly enjoying the trio's company. Sure, you wanted to come because Yoongi was there, but also because Namjoon and Hoseok are cool to be with.
After class, you all headed to the cafeteria. You started to line up eyeing the dishes carefully. Just watching then made your mouth water. Distracted, you bump into the person in front of you. You gasped, as you mutter an apology, profusely bowing your head. That's when you heard surprised reactions from the small crowd that noticed the interaction. Slowly you felt cold liquid drip on your head, down to your clothes.
That draws the line. You may not be from here, and you may not look like much but you surely can defend yourself. You opened your mouth to speak when you were gently shoved behind someone's shoulder. As if shielding you from the student who poured the liquid on you.
"Is there a problem here?" Namjoon's voice was cold as ice. The student, probably in fear of getting in trouble tried to pin the blame on you to which another voice countered.
"I saw you from where I was sitting. Tell the truth, it's getting embarrassing." Hoseok, who is suddenly next to you, yawns.
"It's fine. It's water, it'll dry." You said confidently, smiling at the student who looked scared for her dear life. She looks younger, so you cut her some slack.
You bought your food and sat back at our table. You could feel the three of them eyeing you as you chomp down on your first proper meal of the day. You glanced at Yoongi, who for the first time since you've met was looking at you. You beamed at him before wiping your mouth with a napkin, as you cleared your throat.
"Yoongi, would you like to have coffee tomorrow?" you asked, my hands under the table over your lap.
Hoseok and Namjoon looked shocked beyond words. Yoongi on the other hand, didn't even spare you a glance. You winced internally but kept your composure cool. Namjoon cleared his throat and pushed a bottle of water towards my direction.
"Maybe you need a drink, Y/N." You accepted and drank. Then after, you faced Yoongi again.
"Is that a yes?"
It's Hoseok's turn to intervene now, using a napkin to get your glasses from your nose and wipe it. He tried to dry your hair too but you leaned away from his touch.
"Y/N, I think it's best you let this go." Namjoon spoke again.
"Why? Are you dating anyone?" You questioned further.
That seemed to be the last straw for Yoongi for he stood up, gathered his music sheets and left the three of us, not even bothering to carry his lunch.
Hoseok looked around the table before laughing in amusement. Namjoon joining not long after. You looked at them, confused beyond words.
"You are something else, Y/N. Now I know why we were always told to not judge a book by its cover." Namjoon beamed.
Hoseok just patted your head. Both of them bidding goodbye, as Namjoon stopped to browse in his notes. He slipped a paper to you and when you glanced down, it looked like their schedule this semester.
You smiled and bid them goodbye.
You'll try again tomorrow.
------------------------------------------
The following day, you woke up earlier than usual to buy two iced Americanos. If you're lucky, Yoongi might like something to drink before their recital's daily rehearsal.
As if on cue, you hear Hoseok's loud laughter at the campus yard and as expected Yoongi and Namjoon are there with him. You raise your hand and wave towards them as you see Yoongi's eyes darken.
You paid no mind and dragged your feet towards the trio. You stopped in front of them, fixing your glasses and smoothing out your green cardigan. Namjoon like his usual habit, eyed you up and down and scrunched his nose at your taste in clothes. That made you chuckle out loud.
"Hi, Yoongi. I bought you an iced Americano." I offered, handing out the cold beverage. He eyed it carefully, before accepting it and shoving it to Hoseok's face.
Hoseok winced and looked at you apologetically. You shook your head and smiled.
"That's okay, I didn't peg you as an Americano guy anyway. How about an iced Latte for tomorrow?" you quipped, not giving up.
"Look, Y/N, isn't it?" Yoongi started. "I do appreciate the gesture but I am not interested. I am taken, and will never be available."
You felt your shoulder slump. That makes sense, with how he looks and the entirety of him, it was impossible for him to be single. You nodded and started to apologise when you heard Hoseok chirp beside you.
"No he's not!"
"Hoseok!" Namjoon hissed. Hoseok shrugged his shoulders and dragged you away. With one last look at Yoongi, you followed Hoseok.
"Look, I'll help you. Just tell me what you need." Hoseok bounced with excitement. You laughed, you honestly didn't think you'd get this far.
"It's okay, I got this." You whispered to Hoseok.
"Hey, Min Yoongi!" you called out. He turned to look at you and you raised your hand to point at the bulletin board. He quipped his head to the side as if challenging you to continue. You sighed and moved closer to the board to point at the upcoming examination schedule.
"Our finals is coming up soon." You stated.
"If I beat you and score higher than you, then we'll go on that date. Otherwise, you'll never hear from me again." You challenged.
Namjoon whistled at that, onlookers started to get interested and eventually started to taunt Yoongi. You smirk and wait for his response.
Hoseok and Namjoon are in the sidelines, watching and honestly enjoying their friend's struggle. Hoseok lazily drinking the iced Americano that you bought for Yoongi.
Yoongi stayed silent and you took that as your cue to leave, only a few steps in, you turned and moved closer to a glaring Yoongi.
"Oh, I forgot something!" you exclaimed.
You then stalked towards him, grabbing both of his collar towards you. Eliminating the height difference, you inched your face closer to his until your lips met. It was a quick peck but just enough to make the crowd roar and make Yoongi burn red in embarrassment.
You slowly took a step back. Bidding Namjoon and Hoseok goodbye.
What the fuck did you just do? -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 9 - Student Council President Sakura
SCPS AO3 | PREVIOUS CHAPTER
Sasuke wondered for the umpteenth time since three in the morning why he agreed to go with the baseball team for their summer camp and wondered more why the student council had to do its orientation and team building event at the same time. He supposed it was to cut down on expenses, but both trips could have gone on without his presence.
Well, it turned out his shoulders were needed as pseudo pillows for the sleepyheads duo. On one side, he can feel the wetness of Naruto’s drool dripping every minute onto his linen shirt, and on the other, Sakura’s vanilla shampoo was arresting his senses. Five hours after a rough roadtrip, the two awake beside a very grumpy Uchiha.
“I demand a barbecue treat from both of you,” he huffed as they disembarked in front of the groups’ joint headquarters.
His mood soured when Kakashi emerged from the next bus, serving as one of the stand-in guardians for the activities, followed by Hyuuga Hinata. She gave Sasuke a stern nod when their eyes met, and he briefly recounted their interaction while waiting for the rest of the participants.
“Good morning, Ms. Hyuuga,” Kakashi greeted. He waved for her to come closer, and he introduced her to the students. “If you’re not aware, the Sports Council has rolled out funding to under-resourced teams across the state to be particularly used for summer trainings. We’re lucky we’re one of those teams. Joining us as an observer is Mr. Hiashi’s daughter herself, Ms. Hinata, who also happens to study in the same district.”
She generously bowed to everyone with a tight-lipped smile. Later, she assumed a position beside Sasuke.
“If it makes you feel better, I did not orchestrate this,” Hinata said. “And if there’s anything you should now, both sides of that relationship have been hurt, with reasons far from what you’re thinking.” She stopped for a whole minute and breathed in, struggling to keep the tears at bay. “So please, leave me alone.”
Yeah, he was a bit of a jerk to her, Sasuke knew that. But he also knew that Hinata had already developed an affection for the blonde idiot, regardless of her denial. As much as he wouldn’t want to complicate things, he thought it best for now to allow the situation to play out. He had to remind himself that he wasn’t here to entangle himself in someone else’s business.
They settled in the mess hall cum dining area for a quick breakfast and breakdown of house rules. He still needed to get used to the fact that this was Sakura’s last time to be a head organizer for a school activity. She will pass on her reins to the incumbent secretary by the start of the next term. Both him and Naruto knew the extent of her sadness in letting this position go, and even more so the need to look out for her the instance she does her confession.
Yet she hasn’t. So they became unwilling witnesses to this awkward tiptoeing with awareness literally skewed to only one side of the party, and Kakashi showering in ignorance bliss.
They went about their room assignments, and Sasuke, with all his luck in the universe, was stuck with Kakashi and Naruto.
“I won’t ask if it’s possible to trade rooms, but would you care to explain why you don’t have a solo room of your own?” he annoyingly asked the silver-haired man who was nose deep at the moment in a coverless book.
“I’m your guardian, Uchiha,” Kakashi replied while yawning. “I’m gonna go sleep so why don’t you frolick in the ocean with your friends while it’s still your free time?”
Unwilling to spend his time with a man who annoyed him so much for no reason at all, Sasuke trudged off his designated room and followed the many footsteps on the sand. The untrimmed hedges eventually give way to the expanse of the gray ocean, its waves roaring from afar, building up like shifting towers, cresting, and breaking into foam by the time they reach the shore.
Naruto was already neck deep in the waters with the rest of his team, the new captain certainly setting a good camaraderie example. Sakura caught his entrance and waved him over despite the new council members intensely blushing at the sight of him.
“Sasuke!” He heard her call.
But every step he took on the soft sand was like a laboring walk on a cesspool of blood, his parents’ blood.
“The turtle is faster than you, you slowpoke!” Sakura continued her incessant teasing.
Trust me, I’m trying to get to you, he thought. Screams broke out just then.
And he felt like he was being whirled away into the barrel of his repressed memories. He started seeing everything in slow motion.
Naruto shouting cramp cramp cramp, an idiot move that got seawater into his nose, and ultimately made him lose his balance. Quick on her feet, Sakura swam into his vicinity with sure, measured strokes of an experienced swimmer. He heard her scream calm down you blonde idiot! and his teammates were able to usher him out of her hold and onto dry land.
But she didn’t manage to follow safely. She was swimming, but her direction kept on going farther away from the shore. She was caught in a riptide. The screams changed from Naruto’s name to her, the intensity and volume of voices getting stronger with every second.
“Sakura!”
“Miss Pres! Someone! Help!”
“Help please!”
Save her, a voice said in his head. “I can’t.”
Her pink hair looked like a blob riding untethered on the arms of the waves. Yet he was rooted to his spot, his memory spilling over like blank ink. Suddenly he can smell the gasoline in the air and the waves lose their sound, replaced by the gasps and shaky breaths of his parents, and the ticking time bomb of an explosion.
He started to hyperventilate as his sight closed in on him. “Sakura, I’m sorry.”
Fast and light footfalls passed by his side, breaking him out of his reverie, and Sasuke’s eyes opened to a coverless book on the sand, its pages fluttering in the wind.
A silver-haired man dove into the surface with no hesitation, briefly disappearing, and emerging again in a few seconds with an unconscious Sakura safe in his arms. Only then did Sasuke run in haste.
“Give us space!” Kakashi yelled with a sliver of anger and panic in his normally laidback voice.
Sasuke would have to content himself seeing the next events play out in between warm bodies, his heart drowning the waves when he realized she wasn’t breathing and Kakashi had to start chest compressions.
Seconds worth of chances and he stood there waiting again.
She still wasn’t responding.
“Come on, Sakura, breathe,” Kakashi pleaded through gritted teeth. When he counted down to thirty, he leaned down and gave her two rescue breaths.
Still no response.
“Dammit Sakura. Don’t die now.”
Another set of thirty compressions. By the fifteenth try, some council members have broken down and started crying.
“Fuck.” Kakashi did another pair of rescue breaths. Then she vomited water.
“Clear the way!”
A group of paramedics came thanks to Hinata’s calm thinking and took the disoriented pinkette from Kakashi’s hold. Sasuke’s eyes trailed after them, her long pink locks swaying in the wind, and landing on Hinata’s fixated gaze on him, like she knew something he didn’t. Or since then has denied.
--------------------------------
Sakura refused Kakashi’s instruction to go home. It was a close call, but she needed to see through a good transition in the student council, and a productive summer training camp for the baseball team.
“I’ll inform your parents then,” Kakashi said with a steely anger in his voice she was unfamiliar with. At whom it was directed she’ll never know.
“Ah, no need, I already called them,” she lied through gritted teeth. He responded with a brow raise but let it go for now.
“Get some rest, Ms. Pres.”
She did just that, holed up in a room for two days with minimal interaction save for her roommate Hinata who basically sidestepped around her in silence.
“How’s everyone?” Sakura asked her on the third day when she was about to scamper off to her observation duty.
“Your boys wanted to see you,” Hinata said. Sakura wondered if there was a tinge of jealousy in that but she saw the Hyuuga daughter as someone who already has all the good things in life. “But I refused entry since Naruto can be quite noisy and Sasuke is easily riled up nowadays.” Including sensitivity for others.
Hinata continued after giving her a plate of peaches and cranberry juice. “Your student council is still devastated, but they changed up their agenda to include a quick first aid training from a virtual trainer. Baseball team is doing quite well, far better than what I first expected….notwithstanding Haru’s absence.”
She noticed the visible change in Hinata’s expression after she uttered his name. “And how are you?”
The beautiful raven-haired looked at her with eyes brimming in tears. Poor girl never had someone to unload her broken heart to.
“I miss him Sakura.”
Sakura bites down on a slice of peach and taps her finger on one of Hinata’s clutched fist. “Do you still talk?”
Hinata shook her head, her fists clutching then unclasping each other in between pauses. “He was the one who ended the whole thing. Called me up for a date and we went to my favorite café, ordered me my favorite drink, and broke the news that he wanted to break up. He wasn’t angry when he said it, he was weary of everything, and I was hurt more by that fact. After I came home, I learned that he blocked me in all his social media accounts.” She took one slice of peach and stuffed it in her mouth, regardless of the tears that streaked her unmarred face. “I wanted to introduce him to Father, you know. Just until after I graduated so I could at least move away first. If he felt so suffocated by my family, how much more it was for me?”
Sakura puckered her lips with a tint of cranberry juice. “I think you’re both cowards.”
Hinata, who probably expected an empathetic response from Sakura, moved her hand away from Sakura and covered her mouth in surprise.
“It’s true,” the pinkette reasoned out. “Haru is a jerk for leaving all the work to you. He knows of your family so he should have stood up for you if he loved you. But you’re at fault too, Hina, because you know you could have introduced him earlier and faced your father’s wrath together. This gives me Romeo and Juliet vibes.”
“They both die in that story, Sakura.”
“Then West Side Story?” Sakura retrieved Hinata’s hand and put her hand over it. “I’m just saying I hope you find someone willing to take on that risk for you but also allowing you to have your agency to choose and act.”
Hinata doesn’t back away from Sakura’s touch. “You’ve always known what to say since we were in junior high.”
“Well of course! It’s because you and Haru are my friends!” She elbowed Hinata jokingly. “So Naruto?”
Blush bloomed on Hinata’s cheeks with a color far too intense to cover up. “Naruto? What about him?”
“It’s because of his strong people charm, isn’t it?” Sakura smiled, no longer looking at Hinata. “And if Haru had that personality, maybe it wouldn’t be difficult for your father to accept him.”
She was greeted with silence which told her that this was the truth, this was the reason why Hinata craved for his sunshine energy, and the reason why she had always wanted to orbit around him.
--------------------------------
Despite the life-threatening incident that marked the beginning of their excursion, the remaining days have fallen into some sort of normalcy and mundanity. Sasuke, more than he would like to admit, found himself spending more time with the mathematics teacher who was on his second coverless book.
“What’s your bet?” Kakashi asked out of the blue. Prior to this, they shared the silence punctuated with cicadas and the occasional crackling of wood in the campfire.
“Erotica,” Sasuke replied nonchalantly, seated across him on a foldable steel chair.
The teacher almost choked on his water. “What if I tell you it’s a classic lit?”
“A classic erotica literature,” Sasuke insisted. “Because if it is as safe as you said it, you’d leave the cover on because bookworms are snobbish like that.”
Kakashi chuckled. “What a brat. It’s a good thing I’m not a snitch for the school board.”
“You’re just implying they don’t pay you enough.”
“You’re really a brat.”
Again, the silence engulfed them, not much different from the night that lulled everyone to sleep. Sasuke kept his hands inside the pockets of his thin jacket, moving away from Kakashi to return to their room. He debated about this with himself for the last two days, wondering if it would be worth it. “You seem like a good guy despite your reading preferences.”
“Excuse me?” Kakashi’s voice was laced with offence.
“Thanks for saving Sakura.” He realized he was too young, too unreliable, like the kid he was once before. It was just he never grew up.
And the week was done, and time was in constant shift. The reshuffling in classes left him alone, but never that much, not when two extroverts came checking on him at every break. The spot behind the library was still their hidden spot, the dragonboat team was still their background music, and the countless scenes on the side of the lake were still their guilty pleasures of what-ifs.
Maybe every last year of every phase in life ended up going so fast. Like how the baseball team sped through the preliminaries to the nationals in one relentless drive. And yet again, he found himself going back to the same café with his favorite cashier who colored her hair pink.
“You like my new hair?” Sakura teased. “Okay hit me, I’m on a 15-minute break.”
“Stop eating my tomato basil salad first.” Sasuke flicked off her encroaching fingers on his bowl. “The team needs funds. In the board’s defense, they prepared for jersey uniforms, travel assistance, and board and lodging.”
“Up until the semis,” Sakura clarified.
“Unfortunately. What’s the council gonna do?”
“I’m not the president anymore, remember?”
Sasuke sipped his cold americano, looking pointedly at Sakura, who deflected his gaze. He tapped the surface of the table, knowing all too well that she will spill something any second now.
“The council is gonna do a fundraising event,” she finally relented.
“Please don’t tell me it’s another pass-the-hat.”
She shook her head, but if she was at all excited, she didn’t show it. “They’re gonna invite student musicians and do a showcase in the mall park.” She shrugged. “Not my idea and not my place to meddle.”
“You know it’ll be a failure, right?” Sasuke asked. “The crowd and the weekend traffic won’t be worth the effort.”
She sighed in agreement. “Well, Kakashi-sensei greenlighted it. They must have a trump card.”
Sasuke was right for the most part. No one paid them attention, not the crying kids, not the parents rushing for the flash market sales, not the aunties catching up with the newest town gossip. The music club was already halfway down to the set, and Sakura was keeping her head low and hidden in her beret in secondhand embarrassment.
“Please tell me it gets better,” Sasuke almost pleaded
She eyed him from head to toe with a smirk. “We could auction you if you want. Girlies at nine o’clock want your number.”
He rolled his onyx orbs but flushed at her insinuation that he was worth looking at today. It wasn’t his expertise to dress up nor did it come to him to actually buy new clothes in the last three years. He just put on an oversized graphic t-shirt over a pair of jeans and called it a day, and Sakura stood there beside him in her 90s fashion silk blouse tucked into black pants with a leather belt, very much unaware of how she stole attention.
“Let’s leave?” he suggested.
Sasuke lost sight of the crowd when she looped her arm in his as they walked away to the first notes of Flightless Bird, American Mouth. It was sudden, probably on impulse, and not much to Sakura’s thoughts, and maybe those were the reasons why he didn’t pull away from the electricity of her touch.
And maybe he should have walked quicker so she wouldn’t have looked back and seen Kakashi on the piano chair, stroking the keys like that of a lover, and his voice crooning everyone to join his atmosphere.
So while she stood there beside him, all dolled up and beautiful from head to toe, with her arm linked with his in the middle of a gathering crowd, she wasn’t entirely his, her heart not swaying in time with his pulse, but beating instead to the pluck of his chords.
Ah so I really was in love with her. A realization too late and another missed chance to offer her his saving grace.
Two songs later and a beaming Kakashi taking pictures with the audience, Sakura finally unlinked her arm from Sasuke’s, and they walked out of the mall under the threat of impending downpour. With hurried steps and foregone conversations, they managed to reach the shelter of a small shed along the bridge connecting the mall to the train station just before the rain ensued.
“Ah I forgot to bring an umbrella. Funny since it was scorching hot earlier.” She put out her fingers outside the cover of the shed, making contact with the drops. “Like it was sudden and inevitable.”
Sasuke kept mum about the umbrella inside his crossbody bag, wanting instead to drown in the rain with her.
“I wish it was that sudden and inevitable too – falling out of love,” she said as she took her wet hand inside for cover. “Because I’m running out of excuses to not fall further more.”
“You haven’t confessed yet,” Sasuke reminded her. “And we all know how that ends in this setup. You can never be together Sakura.”
“I know.” He heard her choke back a sob.
“I wish I could, Sasuke. But my eyes see him and then my mind plays back a dozen frames of him every second. I really wish I could do just that – fall out of love.”
She gave in to her emotions and cried with abandoned resentment and yet he saw her with rose tinted lenses – still beautiful in the woes of a first love heartbreak. His body started to move on its own, his arms hovering around her, an unspoken question of permission to touch her safe space, and she leaned into his embrace, an equally unspoken consent to envelop her in comfort.
They must have been lovers in the eyes of those under the passing umbrellas. His hug tightened at best, absorbing every convulsion in her small frame like it was his sole function.
“Would you like to use me, Sakura?” he whispered like a prayer he uttered under his breath for the rain to continue and give him a little more seconds, a bit more minutes, an illusion of stranded time with her in his arms.
Pools of emerald looked back at him stricken with fear. “It’s not fair. To you. To me.”
His ember irises held steady. “I don’t mind.”
“I do mind.” She cupped his face, soft yet calloused palms that tether him to this reality. “I do mind so I will not let my broken heart steal your chance at first love.”
But the rain has stopped as sudden as it started and she was out of his hold, running for her dear life out of the cover of the shed, through the bridge and into a train line he couldn’t follow.
But you’re my first love.

Article: Five Pioneering Black Ballerinas: ‘We Have to Have a Voice’
Date: June 17, 2021
By: Karen Valby
These early Dance Theater of Harlem stars met weekly on Zoom — to survive the isolation of the pandemic and to reclaim their role in dance history.
Last May, adrift in a suddenly untethered world, five former ballerinas came together to form the 152nd Street Black Ballet Legacy. Every Tuesday afternoon, they logged onto Zoom from around the country to remember their time together performing with Dance Theater of Harlem, feeling that magical turn in early audiences from skepticism to awe.
Life as a pioneer, life in a pandemic: They have been friends for over half a century, and have held each other up through far harder times than this last disorienting year. When people reached for all manners of comfort, something to give purpose or a shape to the days, these five women turned to their shared past.
In their cozy, rambling weekly Zoom meetings, punctuated by peals of laughter and occasional tears, they revisited the fabulousness of their former lives. With the background of George Floyd’s murder and a pandemic disproportionately affecting the Black community, the women set their sights on tackling another injustice. They wanted to reinscribe the struggles and feats of those early years at Dance Theater of Harlem into a cultural narrative that seems so often to cast Black excellence aside.
“There’s been so much of African American history that’s been denied or pushed to the back,” said Karlya Shelton-Benjamin, 64, who first brought the idea of a legacy council to the other women. “We have to have a voice.”
They knew as young ballet students that they’d never be chosen for roles like Clara in “The Nutcracker” or Odette/Odile in “Swan Lake.” They were told by their teachers to switch to modern dance or to aim for the Alvin Ailey company if they wanted to dance professionally, regardless of whether they felt most alive en pointe.
Arthur Mitchell was like a lighthouse to the women. Mitchell, the first Black principal dancer at the New York City Ballet and a protégé of the choreographer George Balanchine, had a mission: to create a home for Black dancers to achieve heights of excellence unencumbered by ignorance or tradition. Ignited by the assassination of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., he founded Dance Theater of Harlem in 1969 with Karel Shook.
Lydia Abarca-Mitchell, Gayle McKinney-Griffith and Sheila Rohan were founding dancers of his new company with McKinney-Griffith, 71, soon taking on the role of its first ballet mistress. Within the decade, Shelton-Benjamin and Marcia Sells joined as first generation dancers.
Abarca-Mitchell, 70, spent her childhood in joyless ballet classes but never saw an actual performance until she was 17 at the invitation of Mitchell, her new teacher. “I’ll never forget what Arthur did onstage” she said of his Puck in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at New York City Ballet during a Tuesday session in January. “He made the ballet so natural. Suddenly it wasn’t just this ethereal thing anymore. I felt it in my bones.”
Marcia Sells, 61, remembered being 9 and watching with mouth agape when Abarca-Mitchell, McKinney-Griffith and Rohan performed with Dance Theater in her hometown, Cincinnati. “There in front of me were Black ballerinas,” Sells said during a video call in April. “That moment was the difference in my life. Otherwise I don’t think it would’ve been possible for me to think of a career in ballet.”
Shelton-Benjamin left her Denver ballet company, where she was the only Black dancer, turning down invitations from the Joffrey Ballet and American Ballet Theater, after reading a story about Dance Theater of Harlem in Dance magazine. Abarca-Mitchell was on that issue’s cover — the first Black woman to have that honor. At her Harlem audition, Shelton-Benjamin witnessed company members hand-dying their shoes and ribbons and tights to match the hues of their skin. Here, no traditional ballet pink would interrupt the beauty of their lines. “I had never seen a Black ballerina before, let alone a whole company,” Shelton-Benjamin, 64, said during a February Zoom meeting. “All I could think was, ‘Where have you guys been?’”
Finding one another back then, at the height of the civil rights movement, allowed them to have careers while challenging a ballet culture that had been claimed by white people. “We were suddenly ambassadors,” Abarca-Mitchell said. “And we were all in it together.”
They traveled to American cities that presented such a hostile environment that Mitchell would cancel the performance the night of, lest his company feel disrespected. But they also danced for kings and queens and presidents. In 1979, a review in The Washington Post declared their dancing to be a “purer realization of the Balanchinean ideal than anyone else’s.” Their adventures offstage were similarly electric, like the night in Manchester when Mick Jagger invited them out on the town. “We walked into the club with him and everybody just moved out of the way,” Shelton-Benjamin said.
Cultural memory can be spurious and shortsighted. Abarca-Mitchell was the first Black prima ballerina for a major company, performing works like Balanchine’s “Agon” and “Bugaku” and William Dollar’s “Le Combat” to raves. In an April Zoom session she said she first realized how left out of history she was when her daughter went online to prove to a friend that her mother was the first Black prima ballerina. But all she found was the name Misty Copeland, hailed as the first. “And my daughter was so mad. She said: ‘Where’s your name? Where’s your name?’ It was a wake-up call.”
While Abarca-Mitchell paused to wipe her eyes, Shelton-Banjamin stepped in: “I want to echo what Lydia said. There was a point where I asked the women, ‘Did it all really happen? Was I really a principal dancer?’ And Lydia told me: ‘Don’t do that! Yes, you were. We’re here to tell you, you were.”
Sells went on to a career that included serving as the dean of Harvard Law School, until she left this year to become the Metropolitan Opera’s first chief diversity officer. Shelton-Benjamin is now a jeweler who recently became certified in diamond grading. She, along with Abarca-Mitchell, McKinney-Griffith and Rohan, continue to coach and teach dance. They all have families, including another grandchild on the way for McKinney-Griffith, who announced the happy news to whoops on a recent call.
But they are done swallowing a mythology of firstness that excludes them, along with fellow pioneers like Katherine Dunham, Debra Austin, Raven Wilkinson, Lauren Anderson and Aesha Ash. It’s true that Misty Copeland is American Ballet Theater’s first Black female principal. It is also true that she stands on the shoulders of the founding and first generation dancers at Dance Theater. A narrative that suggests otherwise, Sells said, “Simply makes ballet history weak and small.”
Worse, it perpetuates the belief that Blackness in ballet is a one-off rather than a continuing fact. And it suggests a lonely existence for dancers like Copeland, a world absent of peers. “We could’ve been Misty’s aunties,” Abarca-Mitchell said. “I wish she was part of our sisterhood, that’s all.”
Dance Theater saved them from being the only one in a room. The work was so hard, the expectations so high, the mission so urgent, that those early days demanded a familial support system among the dancers. “Someone would take you under their wing and say, ‘You’re my daughter or sister or brother,’” McKinney-Griffith said. “The men did it also. Karlya was my little sister, and we kept that through the years.”
Like in any family, the relationships are complicated. The women speak of feeling shut out of today’s Dance Theater of Harlem. They are rarely brought in for workshops or consultations on the ballets they were taught by Mitchell. At his memorial service in 2018, they wept in the pews unacknowledged. “We’re like orphans,” Rohan said with a laugh in a Zoom session. “If the outside world neglects us, it seems all the more reason that Dance Theater of Harlem should embrace us.”
Virginia Johnson, a fellow founding member, is now the company’s artistic director. She assumed the helm in 2013 when Dance Theater returned after an eight-year hiatus caused by financial instability. “It makes me sad to think that they feel excluded,” Johnson said in a phone interview. “And it’s not because I don’t want them. It’s just because I can’t manage. I’ve probably missed some chances but it’s not like I haven’t thought about the value of what they bring to the company. They are the bodies, the soul, the spirit of Dance Theater of Harlem.”
“We all think about and love and respect what Arthur Mitchell did,” she added, “but these are the people he worked with to make this company.”
By the end of May, the five members of the 152nd Street Black Ballet Legacy were fully vaccinated. They traveled from Denver, Atlanta, Connecticut, South Jersey and, in Sells’s case, five blocks north of Dance Theater of Harlem for a joyful reunion. So much is different now at the building on 152nd Street. The old fire escape in Studio 3 where they’d catch their breath or wipe tears of frustration is gone. So are the big industrial fans in the corners of the room, replaced by central air conditioning. But they can still feel their leader all around them in the room. Crying, Abarca-Mitchell told McKinney-Griffith, “I miss Arthur.” (Though they all laugh when imagining his response to their legacy council. “I do believe he would try to control us,” Rohan said. “’What are you doing now? Why are you doing that? Let me suggest that. …’”)
The body remembers. In Studio 3, all Shelton-Benjamin had to do was hum a few notes of Balanchine’s “Serenade” and say “and” for the women to grandly sweep their right arms up. “These women help validate my worth,” Abarca-Mitchell said afterward. “I don’t want to take it for granted that people should recognize Lydia Abarca. But when I’m with them I feel like I felt back then. Important.”
Even as the world reopens and they grow busy again, they’ll carry on with their Tuesday afternoons. They want to amplify more alumni voices. They dream of launching a scholarship program for young dancers of color. This fall, they’ll host a webinar in honor of the director and choreographer Billy Wilson, whose daughter Alexis was also part of Dance Theater.
“What we have is a spiritual connection,” said Rohan, who turns 80 this year. She was 27 when she joined the company, already married and hiding from Mitchell that she was a mother of three young children for fear it get her kicked out. When she eventually confessed a year later, he got mad, insisting he would have increased her salary if he’d known she had mouths to feed.
“Arthur planted a seed in me, and all these beautiful women helped it grow,” she said. “Coming from Staten Island, I was just a country girl from the projects. My first time on a plane was to go to Europe to dance on those stages. I thanked God every day for the experience. This year, coming together again, I remembered how much it all meant to me. I didn’t have to be a star ballerina. It was enough that I was there. I was there. I was there.”

(2) home - enhypen
youtube
(listening to the song while reading the chapter is recommended~)
in a long straight path, there lined eight houses, every two faced each other. this was what i considered my neighborhood.
the houses looked completely worn out. there were still leftover hopscotch marks in the grubby street that separated the houses, and several cracks lined the outer front walls of the homes.
i hastily ran out of one of those houses, and onto the narrow roadway. i was in a bit of a hurry - i decided to wash myself before going to sunghoon's place because the field made me feel sticky, which means i took an extra amount of time to get ready.
as i left my terrace, i heard gates clambering to my right side.
"oh, you're late too." niki pointed out as i approached him.
"didn't know you were going to eat at sunghoon's as well."
"sunoo ran out of food," niki crankily replied, "and everyone else is having dinner there anyway, so why not? it's free carbonara, might as well take the chance because sunghoon never shares anything unless his mom forces him to."
i gasped, "the others are there too-"
"hell yeah! goo goo ga ga hoon waaaah go cry about it! we're all going to drain your food supply tonight!" niki said as he childishly hopped up and down.
"niki, please don't be too happy. there will be three people slaughtering us tonight." i shivered at the thought while we both started to walk towards sunghoon's house at the end of the pavement.
jake, heeseung, and jungwon hate waiting for people in order to eat. they're literally a foodie trio, they get grumpy when they can't have their meals right away. they also tend to blame their hysteria on the people they're waiting for. the word blame is an understatement, heeseung takes food a bit too seriously for a twenty year old.
usually, they just go ahead if they get impatient.
however, sunghoon's flight-attendant mom is supposedly back home tonight. our parents have created this sort of rule that we have to eat all-together. this rule stems from when seven year old me threw a tantrum when i found out that the boys ate fried chicken without me, so we've been kind of following it for most of our lives because the elders get upset if one of us has a temper.
niki added, "actually, four people will have ideas that involve murdering us tonight. well honestly- only three for me. four for you."
i stopped in my tracks, "what the hell are you on about?"
"jay doesn't like when others take his stuff and wear it without his permission.."
clothes. niki was referring to my clothing. i looked down just to realize that i was wearing an oversized t-shirt that had 'park 02' printed on it. it was jay's custom tee from high school.
was i in such a rush that i didn't even register that i put on jay's shirt that i had secretly stolen?
"niki- you dumbass! why would you tell me this now? we just reached sunghoon's!" i yelled at the lanky being while i harshly slapped his abdomen.
"oh so i'm the dumbass? that's what you get for being an idiot, i can't believe you're a senior!" he yelled back at me.
i rolled my eyes and hit him one more time in the gut before taking position behind him as we slipped into the entrance of sunghoon's humble abode.
"using me as a shield won't do you any help." niki sneered while he opened the front door.
i wretchedly threw my head back and followed niki's back into the wood-paneled parlor. a chatter of voices could already be heard.
we moved past a set of stairs, and eventually winded up where the dining room was.
six people, who were previously facing each other and conversing, turned towards the direction niki and were coming from. they were seated at an old-fashion table with eight cushioned chairs. four individuals were settled on the side of the table that could see the room's entrance, while two people had their back facing niki and i as we arrived.
i scanned the room and surprisingly, nobody wore an irked look.
"byeol! looking good!" a puppy-like boy grinned. at that, i made my way towards him and teasingly pulled at his dark hair. jungwon, who sat beside him, elbowed his arm and mumbled something that sounded similar to "jake, focus on your food".
sunoo gleefully waved his hands then patted the seats beside him, gesturing for niki and i to sit there. the two of us shuffled and took our seats.
i found myself directly next to sunoo, with niki at the left end of the table facing heeseung.
i wrapped my arms around sunoo, he returned my actions and drew nearer to me which made our cheeks squish against each other. i creaked, "sunoo, my only source of sunshine! how are you? it's been a while."
"it has been way too long! i have been suffering lately- because of this moron called sunghoon! for the past hour he has been talking about how he received five confessions today even though it's only the second week of him attending college. my ears are so close to falling off!" sunoo wailed dramatically.
i hugged him tighter and jokingly sniffled, "i'm so sorry, sunoo... i can't imagine what you've been going through."
while i was comforting the poor boy, a hoarse voice sarcastically rang out, "i apologize for sharing my experience of being a really attractive, warm-hearted, and extremely smart person."
i let go of the hug and looked at the being past sunoo, "you don't need to ask for forgiveness. i think we all know that you don't have any three of those qualities, so what's the point in saying sorry?"
sunghoon just scowled as a response.
heeseung snickered at our exchange before his expression became serious, "start eating, byeol. the vegetables are gonna get cold."
i titled my head in confusion. wait what? i internally thought, did he just say vegetables?
i peered at the middle of the table, where an empty bowl with remaining white sauce stood alongside a plate filled with greens.
"you guys ate without-"
"yeah, byeol. you and niki were an hour late.. what did you expect-"
i cut jungwon off, "you were the one who told me there was gonna be carbonara! and now there's none? you could have made sure that heeseung and jake wouldn't hog it all for themselves!"
jungwon bit his lower lip guiltily, "i tried... but you know how they are."
niki shook his head as he grabbed the salad, "disappointed, but not surprised."
he put some vegetables onto my plate, then took the leftovers for himself. i began to bitterly munch it while making weird faces.
"i swear they're no older than six." jay whined. "also, byeol, is that not my shirt you're wearing?" he continued.
"now now jay, it is not the time to get mad at byeol. she 's already irritated, so she'll bite back even more." heeseung advised as if he was talking about an animal.
jay annoyingly pointed at me, "you're not getting away with this type of stuff next time."
i glanced at heeseung and gave him a quick thankful look. he gave a small smile back.
"considering you guys went ahead, is your mom not here, hoon?" niki probed.
"she's out running errands, won't be back until 10." sunghoon answered.
from there, the usual night-time conversation started. we discussed about the coffee shop heeseung was running, lutton high rumours, and how jake was unexpectedly doing well with girls in college too?
"did you know that i got invited to 3 dinner dates today? hoon's not the only one attracting ladies in the university of lutton." jake smirked.
"you should have went to one then." sunoo and i retorted at the same time. we playfully nudged each other.
"well, i was going to! until i heard that byeol was joining us for dinner tonight, she hasn't eaten with us for the past week!" jake countered.
jungwon's eyes flickered to mine while i told half of the truth, "sorry, i've been tired from school recently."
niki's eyes went wide, "oh right! you're still in the photography club? i heard hwang intak's the president this year!"
"who's hwang intak?" sunghoon strangely asked. he was rarely curious about others apart from us.
jungwon and jake's ears perked up at the question as well.
"lutton high's new it boy, also known as your replacement. except he's like ten times more friendly than you." sunoo taunted.
"yeah, right." sunghoon scoffed.
jay began to clap his hands and wheeze, "i thought the girls there would be heartbroken when sunghoon graduated. they move on quickly!"
"he's actually really nice though," i insisted, "during our club meetings, he always allows me to do homework before taking pictures. he even offers to help sometimes even though he's in a different section. i wonder why."
jungwon interrupted, "he's probably one of those overly kind people."
i shrugged, " i guess? i'm the only senior in the club apart from him, so he probably understands how i feel overwhelmed with assignments and stuff-"
"or," niki interjected, "he's into byeol!"
jungwon flashed a glare at niki.
niki responded with a face that said, "what?"
heeseung pondered out loud, "that may be true, i did something similar with the girl i liked when i was part of the student council."
sunoo's mouth was agape, "ahhhhhh! that explains why he comes into our class and studies with byeol sometimes during our free periods! it all makes sense!"
"who in their right mind would actually be interested in the lunatic?" sunghoon remarked.
"you've got to admit that she occasionally looks cute."
sunghoon's ears tinged red, "jake..." he paused, "n-no i don't think that she's-"
"i'm just saying!" jake hollered as he pushed back his hair.
"can everyone shut up for a second? you guys are being overdramatic. school just started last week- how can he like me in a span of fourteen days?" i exhaustedly let out, ignoring jake's comment.
"you never know how someone truly feels byeol, you never know.." niki uttered.
i slapped his knee aggressively, "what do you know about love, niki?"
"trust me, i know more than you." he replied, his eyes fixed on something behind me.
i let out a final huff of annoyance. i always question how i managed to survive eighteen years with these brats.
"shoot, it's already 9:30! i'm gonna go to bed, i have early morning classes tomorrow. and so do you jake." jay got out of his seat and waved his hand at us as he left the room.
"tsch, i guess i'll get going too." jake said as he started bidding goodbyes. when he got to me, he pinched my cheeks hardly and ran out of the room with a cheeky smile before i could chase after him.
i rubbed the area where he pinched, whispering exaggerated cries of how much it hurt.
"i think it's time we all go, it's getting late. you guys still have school tomorrow, and i have to open up the café." heeseung stood up and clapped everyones shoulders.
"don't stay for too long!" he finally said as he exited.
niki ridiculed, "yes, father heeseung!"
"hey, is anyone going to watch the game tomorrow?" sunoo inquired. there was only five of us remaining. "i don't want to go alone."
"i have to go, the photography club needs to take pictures of the game." i nodded
sunoo put his two hands into a prayer position, "oh, thank the lord!"
"i'm coming too, a few of my classmates are players." niki said as he was beginning to leave, "jungwon and sunghoon, you guys should come along too, since you two are so curious about photography club president intak."
after saying that, the younger boy immediately took his leave. he didn't wait for any comments, he just yelled, "see you, tomorrow!" before he slammed the doorway.
sunghoon pointed out, "i think he left straight away because jungwon had a knife ready in his hand."
"no doubt about it, hoon." i said as i looked at an annoyed jungwon who was gripping his utensil in a very uncivil way.
"i'll come, unlike those biophysics majors, i don't have any classes tomorrow."
sunoo hooted, "good! that's good, hoon! how about you, wonnie?"
jungwon sighed, "fine. now we're done here. i'll walk you home, byeol."
sunghoon chimed, "walk her home? she lives down the street..."
jungwon pretended that he didn't hear sunghoon and moved over to me. he tried pulling me out of my place while i held onto sunoo's arm, "i'll go home only if sunoo's sleeping over! my dad's at the city again!"
"i'll stay at your house tonight, byeol! don't worry."
i let jungwon pull me up, while sunoo followed suit.
"your dad's not here again?"
"i just said that, hoon." i put my arms around sunoo and jungwon and started leading us out of the house.
"just know you can come over anytime- like always!" he called out in an uneasy tone from the dining area.
"noted!" i yelled back before sunoo closed the door behind us.
"my legs are tired, can someone carry me?" i immaturely begged.
"really? they're worn out from sitting down for two hours?" jungwon declared.
"let the girl be! you can piggyback on wonnie, byeol." sunoo beamed while ushering me to get on jungwon's back.
regardless of his displeasure, jungwon crouched down.
i jumped onto the rear part of his figure and wrapped my arms around his neck. he jumped a little as he made his posture straight again, "i actually need to stop babying you."
"i'm pretty sure you said that yesterday too." sunoo chuckled as we plodded back to my house.
taglist: @wonwobbles
a/n: this chapter is pretty long compared to the first one, so im a little proud of it! i wanted to show how byeol banters with the others and how their characters react to certain stuff to show their personality!!! heheheheh

[OM!] (American) College!AU Demon Brothers
Scenario: Headcanons on the demon brothers as college students (specifically in the US because I don’t know how college works elsewhere), their possible majors, career goals, extracurriculars, ~GPA~ and whatever else I could think of + how meet you in college
Note: I’m hoping to do a Part 2 with the Undateables but honestly… we’ll see lol. This is based off something ~A~ and I thought of for our specific university but we’ve made it broad enough to share HAHA this turned out VERY long
-
Lucifer
Majoring in Political Sciences with a minor in Psychology
Pre-Law-- most likely immigration law or child custody (there’s definitely a backstory here)
Initially went to community college for the first two years to save up money to take care of his younger siblings
Rejected an offer to go to an Ivy League because it was too expensive; if his siblings ever found out they’d be furious that he’d give up on that chance, but he knows he can succeed wherever he goes (and besides, family is first)
Transferred into a 4-year university his junior year
Very high GPA-- VERY
In a professional fraternity with Diavolo and Barbatos
He didn’t think he’d join one either but Diavolo was the vice chair when he transferred in and the president the year after so… ~nepotism?~ and also Lucifer is charming as heck so no surprise he’d get in
Also rooms with Diavolo and Barbatos
Goes to the gym regularly just to keep fit; gets goaded by Diavolo and Satan into joining an IM team with his frat brothers and actual brothers-- probably basketball or flag football
Probably meets you at a interclub council meeting and mutters under his breath how useless the board members are and you overhear
“Never have I met more incompetent people.”
“Lmao mood”
“!!!”
Keeps sitting next to you at every interclub meeting then after because at least there’s someone that can keep his mind stimulated (thinks you’re hot if you’re competent btw)
If you somehow meet him on campus, he’s the type of guy to put his hand up and pretend he didn’t see you (just kidding, he always ends up saying hi anyways)
Will Absolutely Lecture You if you are procrastinating on studying especially if your midterm is, like, TOMORROW
Always ends up studying with him because he’s actually focused on studying and glares at you if you get distracted (but hey you get good scores in the end)
Mammon
Majoring in Business Econ/Economics, Minoring in Statistics
(always ends up in the middle of the “is econ a humanities or a STEM major” debate that leaves him left for dead)
Planning to work in Business as Finance -- probably has been treasurer or finance director for a club; can even see him being a banker if it suits his plans better
Goes to a four-year university
Decent GPA (or Lucifer would absolutely destroy him), and does REALLY well in mathematics classes
Would room with Lucifer and his posse if they all go to the same school
Probably in a Business Frat as well because he’s pretty charismatic when it comes down to it but was an RA for some of his years for the free rooming and dining hall privileges
Is a very chill and understanding RA (as in he smokes weed with you when he’s off-duty) but is surprisingly well-versed in dealing with roommate issues
Works part-time (gasp) to buy stuff off of Amazon and go out to places
Spends a lot of time exploring places with his friends, going hiking, rock-climbing, clubbing-- which is expensive, as it turns out, so he needed to be able to afford it somehow
Meets you when you’re eating your lunch outside somewhere and he asks you if you have a dollar he could borrow for a vending machine snack
You exchange numbers with him so he can pay it back (even though you honestly don’t really need it, but why not) and turns out he’s in your GE class
“Heyyy wassup! So glad I have a friend in this class”
“Oh by the way, did you finish the homework? Haha, I forgot it.”
Mammon always repays you for your help in food though so you aren’t complaining
Leviathan
Majoring in Computer Sciences
And honestly that’s too much for me already-- the man is doing computer programming, coding-- WHEW-- and they do NOT rest
Goes to a community college but honestly has no problems cinching internships. The computer is his domain-- online applications are EASY, doing projects NOT as easy, interviews? HARD-- REALLY HARD (someone help him)
Probably intends to work with a big company like Google if only to help supply his income so he can live his life going to AX and buying merch
Most likely moved out of his house mid-college with his online friends (who are luckily compatible with him living-space wise) and visits home once a week
There’s two potential sides you can meet first:
Either you meet him at a convention and you both gush about the same character and anime and somehow find each other online (not college related)
Or his favorite Ruri-chan keychain gets broken off in the computer lab, and you’re the one running after him to give it him
He may or may not owe you his life after that (and if you enjoy anime, well that’s a bonus)
Both of these meetings can happen if he doesn’t recognize you in class because you were in cosplay-- imagine the surprise
The two of you as friends are MASTER PROCRASTINATORS at every assignment the two of you have-- so low-key not a great influence-- but you have fun together watching animes, playing games, talking about life-- anything but actual work
Always ends up scrambling to finish things-- but he keeps doing it because it’s been working for him so far
You help him prepare for interviews because he’s always nervous before each one regardless of how well his application looks
Satan
Majoring in Comparative Literature AND Anthropology (ya boy is doing the whole nine yards)
Planning to get his Master’s and then a PhD in one of his majors (whichever proves to be more engaging for him)-- visibly excited to become a Professor
College was meant for Satan-- like REALLY; the man is in LOVE with learning; most likely to go and be accepted to an Ivy-League after Lucifer but... truly believes you can get a good education anywhere so it depends on his financial standing (and how much scholarship he gets)
Does get a little disgruntled when his classes aren’t available but doesn’t mind learning something new-- if the professor bores him to death, he’ll read the book
Really good at tutoring people; someone suggests that he works as a peer-learning facilitator/writing tutor and he does-- might as well make bank doing something you always do anyways
Joins a writing/journal club as an extracurricular and a club that provides tutoring services to the underserved community-- surprisingly good with kids!
He knows friends in high places, so if he wanted to, could get into any party without batting an eye and his favorite professors love him
Spends a lot of his time going out to the city and exploring places, similarly to Mammon, rock-climbing, hiking, paragliding-- anything
He is VERY well-rounded as you can see; competes with Lucifer to see whose GPA is better though
You probably meet him during office hours, and you can only stare in awe as he asks questions that you had in mind, but better; if you’re visibly confused about something, he’ll take his time to help you too (it’s habit at this point)
Ask him for his contact info and you’ll get it, and maybe repay him in coffee? (You always see him at the cafe on campus.)
Most likely to have a specific spot in a cafe that he is always at that the workers actually save a spot for him or give him his usual order before he even arrives-- may or may not have helped them edit their essays or with their homework as a thank-you so you KNOW they’ll love him forever
The type of person to help you make flashcards and cram if you need it
Asmodeus
Majoring in Dance and Fine Arts (I HC going to NYU specifically)
Considering going for an Master of Fine Arts degree but he might just move to New York and go for being a Broadway Star
College is mainly just training for him and hoping to land gigs in local theater-- and the university theater if there is one-- and building his resume for his big break
Has SO many extracurriculars, all pertaining to his career choice, but also because he enjoys what he does: drama, competitive dance team, acapella, fashion design
Makes an unbelievable amount of friends, incredibly good at networking
The first time you saw him was when he was performing for a local theater and you were in love with his performance, and the next time you saw him in the hallway of a classroom building, you told him how much you enjoyed it
Always accepts compliments about his looks with grace, but there’s something about truly being admired for his acting and singing that has him preening
Invites you to come out to his next performance, and if not his, then to another play-- and it can be a date, but up to you ;)
The man is the KING of Multiple Talents and has big dreams to match
Always finds a way to hang out with you and drag you to every club that he can use his fake-id for (and when he’s actually 21 and above, gets a little offended that he doesn’t get ID’d)
A night in the town with you is always a good night!
Sometimes when he has practical exams coming up, he asks you to watch him perform-- and he likes your compliments but actually takes getting all the moves seriously so you better pay attention!
Most likely to move far away to reach his dreams, but he would take you with him if he could-- his little star
Beelzebub
Majoring in Physiological Sciences
Pre-Nursing or Pre-Sports Medicine
He’s a little undecided, but he’s definitely going to go into the health field because he likes the idea of being able to use his strength to help others
Gets a scholarship from the university because he’s part of the football team, which is actually pretty hard on him because Fall Semester/Quarter he has to keep skipping classes for games
Always brings a snack to eat with him during lecture-- and is not afraid to bring his entire lunch and make it right in the front row, though he tends to stick to the back because they tend to have electrical plugs
You most likely meet him during lecture: he offers you an entire sandwich (not a chip bag, not fruit snacks, an entire LUNCH) because he heard your stomach growl during class
From then on, you collect notes for him when he’s gone from games and even go to games if you aren’t usually the type to just to see how he’s doing; it’s hard trying to find you among the huge bleachers, but he always asks you where you’re sitting anyways
Really appreciate it if you help him study into late at night because it IS hard balancing sports and academics
He most likely doesn’t really have any time for anything else so he usually makes up for it during the rest of the year when training is less to volunteer in the hospital or at the gym as a personal trainer
If you ask him to teach you how to properly lift weights, he’ll definitely help out and the both of you can work out together-- though you feel bad when he has to add four extra weights to each side after you finish your reps
Belphegor
Majoring in Computer Graphics/Animation
Intending to go into making animation or game design-- is one of the brothers who doesn’t really know exactly what he wants to do yet because he’s afraid that doing what he loves as a job will ruin it for him
His family reassures him that they’ll support him whether or not he continues with his path in life, but he’s considering art school and then taking internships in places so he has a better idea on what he wants
Most likely to sell his own original work and become a full-time artist regardless
I think you already know how you meet him-- he’s sleeping in a lecture hall-- either against the wall or on the small piece of wood they call a desk when class ends and he’s still sleeping; and you wake him up
Sleepily thanks you and continues to sleep through every class that you wake him up to; when you ask him why he doesn’t just go home and sleep, he tells you he’s too lazy to walk back and forth from his dorm/apartment to campus (mood)
When you add each other on Snapchat or something, he sends you pics of ‘places to nap’ on campus
You always end up studying together because he’s actually pretty good at understanding lecture stuff despite not being awake for most of it-- apparently he’s used to teaching himself
Will make you art for your birthday and will vehemently refuse payment so he just tells you to take him out for dinner instead
If you talk about how you’re not sure on what you want to do in life too, he’ll probably say ‘mood’ but is most likely to encourage you to do whatever you want to do in life too
#obey me#obey me headcanons#obey me lucifer#obey me mammon#obey me satan#obey me leviathan#obey me beelzebub#obey me belphegor#obey me shall we date?#ngl i would date beel in this au 100%

Hear me out: Reader who is richer than Shoto and Momo combined. They have a reputation of being stuck up and transfer into UA by STRONG recommendation. Everyone avoids her out of fear of being caught in rich wrath. But it’s not until the Bakusquad make a joke with her they realize what a complete idiot/nerd/funny person she is. Denki *makes joke about reader being to rich* Reader *pulls out hundreds to wipe tears and throws them on the floor when the tears are gone* If you can please? 😊❤️❤️
Request: “Sorry to message you! I but I sent a recent ask! I was going to ask if you could add the reader having like mesmerizing long black hair and killer brows and false lashes? Bonus if she ends up with Best Boom Boy!
I love this honestly! I’ll do my best to answer this the best I can! I’m assuming Bakugo right? I hope so, ☺️
Pairing: Katsuki Bakugo x Reader + Friend Bakusquad

Class 1-A was bustling with conversation at the news they’d just gotten. A new student would be joining the class Mid Semester. The daughter of a well known known man in Japan.
The Family name foreign, (L/n), It’s been in Japan no longer than four generations. And they’d already come to sit on the top of the money empire. Being rich and known would be a good thing for anyone aspiring to become a hero. It was a lie, often times press would take chances to start rumors and make false accusations leading the newest generation of (L/n) to be held to a new standard.
“I know! Everyone makes her out to be stuck up, snobby and rude!”
Morning
“Aren’t the (L/n)’s the family the Hero Times magazine compared to other families? If I’m right they said Her family dwarfs the Yaoyorozu, Iida, and Todoroki families combined!”
“I heard she had press locked up and cameras destroyed for taking her picture!”
“Oh! I saw a video from her middle school days! You can’t really make her out, but she brought a girl to her knees in-front of the school! For something she did....”
“Oh! She must be the girl who took down a group of boys because one of them brushed shoulders with her!”
“No way! I heard she got a boy expelled because she thought he was looking down on her!”
“She s-sounds scary, I don’t think I want to talk to her.”
“Yeah, I don’t wanna run the risk of getting kicked out of U.A., not after all the hard work I put in to get here.”
The chatter continued, on the other side of the door, hearing every comment stood (Y/n), her brows furrowed slightly in anger. She released the tension in her brows, they rested in their usual place. Her brows fell into her natural RBF as she sighed, she looked at the Principal, the dog/bear/mouse beside her smiled and knocked. It was answered by the Teacher she had met not to long again Erased Head, or as she’d be introduced. Shota Aizawa.
“I’ll leaver her in your capable hands, make sure she gets a good view on what U.A. iS really about.” He smiled and waved at the teacher and left without word.
Aizawa let the girl enter and stand at the front of the class room. He stepped over to his desk picking up a black folder with a golden crest printed on the front. It was the information U.A. has asked for when you applied.
“Why don’t you introduce yourself.” Aizawa said staring at at the first part of your folder. A record for my our old school, no tardies, no absences, no missing work, no violations, no record punishment, no reported incidents, No grade under a 98. Class representative, president of 6 clubs, President of Student Body Council, 4.0 GPA, in quirk control you placed number one in your school, In your school Sport festival you came in first, Cultural Festival you’d brought in the most donations and had a recommendation letter from almost every teacher and both the principal and vice principal.
I stood silent for a minute staring the class over, recognizing every weak point. I didn’t bother smiling, they probably would be scared anyway. I looked through the corner of my eyes to the window.
“I’m (y/n) (l/n), call me (l/n), I don’t have time to waste on friends, formalities. You bunch of extras would probably just drag me down, I don’t expect much from any of you. I reached the top of my class with ease, and by just looking at you I can tell it won’t be any different.” I scoffed and looked over the class. I
It definitely struck some nerves.
“WHO THE HELL DID YOU JUST CALL AN EXTRA YOU TRASH.” A blonde boy with red eyes glared at me popping up from his seat.
Pops coming from his hand, I stared his down, “What are you doing?” I scoffed, “With pop rocks like that the only thing you’d be scaring it probably a kitten.”
“I’ll kill you!” He screamed bringing his hand up.
“Bet.” Was all is said, a watched his hand and the bright light starting to form, with a quick hand sign he fell face first into the floor arms bound behind his back.
I watched him struggle, explosions forming in his palms. Everyone watched him, stares no longer on me I turned to Aizawa.
“Take a seat in the back by the window, it’s the only open desk.” He said closing the file.
I looked ahead not bothering to look at anyone or make eye contact, I say down and moved my hair so I wouldn’t sit on it. I brought my hands to my nape and pushed them back pushing my hair over my back and into the space between my back and the chair. It felt pooling into the part of the chair I didn’t take and overflowing on sides where he chair didn’t catch. It dangled just an inch from the floor. I held my bag beside me. As I got adjusted to my seat and finally looked ahead to the front of class. I felt stares as I started to pull out my notebook, pen, and pencil. 🖤
I ignored it and went about my business, by the end of the day I heard whispers of why the things I used were so expensive. They hadn’t seen my phone yet, it’d definitely kill them if just a brand note book had them like this. The day was finally coming to an end, during lunch I stayed in class, afraid of sitting alone, I’d rather be alone and unseen rather than alone and stared at.
I sighed and looked at my bag, class was coming to an end for the day, and Aizawa was standing at front in his sleeping bag. Everyone was talking, some sitting on desks. I pulled out my phone, over a thousand notifications on my public social media’s, my dads manager saying I need to become friendlier with the public because of the appearance the press keeps trying to force onto me.
‘I set up some social media accounts for you just post about your day, make some friends post about them, just show the public you aren’t who they’re trying to make you out to be.’
I scoffed at his words but nodded just agreeing, if it’s for my dad I’d try my best. So here I am switching between accounts and now on public Snapchat scrolling through chats answering a few and adding people back so it feel more ‘personal’
“Do you see that?” I heard a whisper.
“Do you think it’s real?”
“It’s huge! If it’s real it must cost a fortune!”
“Look it up.....”
The room was silent for a minute,
“No way, the company only made a few and they sold for 48.5 million, and that was an IPhone six, that’s literally the newest iPhone, so it ages to be worth double even triple what the six was!”
“Go ask,” “Dude, no you go ask.”
“I’m scared,” “You probably should be.”
The bell rang and I was up and gone, no point in sticking around. I found a stair case, it led up to the roof. I followed it, it was so high. I walked over to the railing, I watched people pour out rushing to dorms or wherever else. I dropped my bag on the gravel floor and reached for my phone in my pocket, I held up my camera to the sun, the sky was turning orange. I took a picture, the sun rays peaking through the clouds.
I waited it out a bit longer, I felt a smile graze my face for the first second time today. My friend was posting on her story pictures we’d taken last year today. We skipped school to go to arcades, she met her boyfriend of one year now, we had boba, bought a bunch of merch, and just stayed out till night had claimed the sky. We walked home, bags in tow, uniforms scrunched up, cheeks sore from laughing and smiling the whole day.
Just as I finished the story I got another notification, a message from her. I opened it it was a video, unknown to us it was my last day at my old High school.
“Awww, I love you!” She hugged me, I hugged her back, “Love your too loser.”
“We’ll be best friends and together forever right?” She smiled as we rocked back in forth in the hug.
“I wouldn’t leave you for the world.” I laughed.
“Well just act like I’m not here,” her boyfriends voice in the background.
“I will, bros before.....hoes.....” she laughed and I smiled shaking my head.
“Come on, ill pay dinner.” I said and the video stopped.
‘You loser 😭 I didn’t feel like crying today, it’s my first day of school.’
‘Then you shouldn’t have left me 😭
‘I didn’t even know 😢’
‘🤔 Mhm, we need to meet up soon, it’s only been a day but I already miss you 😢’
‘Aight Bet.’
‘A challenge? 👀’
‘Saturday the usual? 😎’
‘I accept your invitation.’
The conversation ended and I headed to the dorms. This repeat for the next few days, I met with my friend Saturday and told her about my dads managed, she agreed every weekend we’d meet up and feed the public. After a month of this I was sitting in class minding my business, I cracked a smile at my phone and quickly wiped it away realizing I was still being watched.
“Sooo, (l/n)?” I looked up, the boy everyone called Denki leaning on my desk.
I cocked a brow, “Hm?”
“I’m in need of money, and I’ve been shot down twice, sooo, let’s make a bet a gamble really. If you win I’ll pay you, but if I win you pay me.” He sounded so cocky, I squinted at him brows furrowed.
I reached into my bag bringing out my wallet “I don’t waste time just take a donation.” I pulled out six hundred and handed it over like it was nothing.
“Oh....thanks? I guess it’s easier to pay people off when your loaded,” It sounded more like a joke.
I felt a small smile and pulled out another hundred, “Sometiwms you have to buy friends, it’s sad I know.” I patted fake tears and dropped the money ont he floor.
“But you know what they say,” I held the hundred out to him, “You feel better when you cry in a Ferrari.” I let out a single laugh, and then realized the mistake I made when I smield as he laughed.
“I knew you weren’t completely heartl-” I cut him off,
“Don’t talk about it, I’ll pay you off to never mention it.” He laughed and smiled a hand reaching to the back of his neck.
“Call us friends and you won’t even have to pay me.” He smiled.
“Deal.” I answered.
He opened his phone and held it out, “here add your number.”
I sigehd and added my number, he sent me a message and I saved him number.
“Alright new friend, I’ll see you later.”
He waved and walked off as the bell rang. The next day I was dragged to lunch and sat between Denki and Bakugo. I don’t know what to do, so I just drank water, I tried to talk to Mina when she talked to em but they all seemed so tense except for Denki. This became my schedule for the weeks to come.
“I’m hungry,” I grumbled into my phone.
Denki had FaceTimed me at 2 in the morning.
“Then go eat, nobody’s up except you and me.” He shrugged sitting on his bed under his blanket.
“Alright, I’ll be back. so just stay here.” I propped my phone up he had a view of my room from the prop my phone was on.
“Oooo, even your room looks like it belongs to a rich girl. Definitely fancier then Yaoyorozu’s.” He looked around to see what he could.
“Nice, I’ll be back I’m going to find.... dinner?”
“MKay.” Was all he said as he yawned.
I grabbed my second phone and popped in my AirPods, I started to play my music on shuffle. Making it to the Kitchen I was vibing with my music and getting into it. I started to make a sandwich and doing weird dances. I smiled and finally started to Clean up.The song Falling for you, started to play and for some reason my mind went to a certain blonde. I smield to myself, thinking about him. I fluffed my hair and ran my finger over my lashes. I felt the tips of my hair brushing my bare legs.
I smiled and picked up my sandwich and started a new dance with hip movement when the song Hotel Room Sevrvice came on. I started to turn to walk away stopping when I met familiar eyes.
“So, the edgy princess isn’t who she acts to be.” I swallowed, staring at him, his biceps were huge, especially in that muscle shirt.
I got a message form Denki, I’d given him my second number, “SOMEONES HEADED YOUR WAY!”
“Heeeyyy Bakugo....” I was caught, no point in hiding.
“What are you doing up this late?” He asked unamused.
“Well,” I looked at my sandwich, “I was looking for food but an even better snack walked in.” I winked at him.
He made a grunt.
“No? Not Good enough?” I asked an dlwaned against the counter.
“No.”
“How about are you a tombstone cause is nat you on top of me,” I did finger guns this time putting my sandwich down.
“Anything better?” He asked his eyes narrowing.
“Are you a sinning ship? Because I really wanna go down on you.....” I didn’t fight back the smile.
I heard him cough, and I smiled as I noticed a very faint blush.
“Want me try again?” I asked with a cheeky smile.
He didn’t answer he just looked at me,
“You can call me a coffin cause I want you be in-“ I couldn’t finsh I looked and licked my top lip, I assume she understood what I meant but wanted to finsh “inside me.”
At that point I forgot my hunger, I was hungry something else, nothing particularly dirty but some attention.
“Well Katsuki,” I casually walked over to him pushing myself into his side tilting my head onto his shoulder and looking up at him. “I know we definitely have a lot of bad reactions, but I say we should experiment with this chemistry we have going on.”
I pulled his left arm from across his chest and held his hand between my palms, “You look like you’d enjoy someone who would totally dominate you.” I pulled back and placed a soft kiss on his shoulder.
“What do you say?” I asked squeezing his arm.
“Yeah right,” he scoffed and looked down at me.
“Come on, from what I’ve heard you wanted to be called a king, I can make you feel like a king.” I nuzzled against his shoulder.
“I’ll give you one date, but after that you’ll just be an extra so you’ll have to stay out of my way.” He said and brushed it off like it was nothing.
“Ill make sure you don’t regret it.” I stretched and kissed his cheek and booked it out of there sandwich in tow.
“YOU WONT BELIEVE IT.” I screamed at Denki who was still on face time.
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
“Soooooo?” I hugged Bakugo’s waist as the class gathered around in the gym.
Everyone in costume, “You look so fine dressed in your hero uniform.” I said and trailed my hand up the giant gauntlet on his wrist.
“Hm.”He grunted ignoring the stares of disbelief. “Whatever.”
The moment we broke of into our Duos to play an all to competitive game of catch the flag we stopped in the middle of the trading grounds, I was pulled into his chest, his right hand brushing my hair from the top of my head to my lower back. “Your hair is so long,” He mumbled I felt him take a hand full and pull on it, I was weak in the knees almost instantly.
I looked up at him batting my eyelashes, “There you go batting your fake lashes just to distract me.” He grunted.
“I’d agree with you if they’re weren’t real.” I smield and blinked slowly.
“Well aren’t you just gorgeous.” He snarled and he kissed the top of my head
“Now out of my way Extra I’m leading you so don’t leave my side or get in the way.” He stepped aside and looked down at me.
“You and I both know your better at taking Commands. But I’ll play obedient, only for you Katsuki.” I winked at him.
He turned with a growl, “Let’s just go beat that damn nerd.”

Hello! May I ask headcanons for Kiseki no Sedai? Their reaction to their girl being cool and sexually dancing (something like k-pop girl group cover dance, if you know it) with her dance team at a school festival (or something like that).
A/N: Since my character limit is five I chose to do hcs for Akashi, Aomine, Kise, Murasakibara and Midorima, hope that’s fine with you! I immediately thought of Loona’s dance cover of Cherry Bomb by NCT 127 (https://youtu.be/s7kxoMYg3l8) which is so BADASS (both the song and choreography) and Move by Taemin (inspired by Twice’s cover: https://youtu.be/QTfzryUBlO0). Reader is in a group that dances to both in one set! Also I’m assuming the reader is in the school’s dance club/group that decided to do a cover of a lit K-pop song for some kind of school festival!
Akashi Seijuro
Since he is president of the student council, he is backstage helping ensure the performances/festival runs smoothly
Has timings of each performance down to the second — and he knows exactly when you and your dance group is slated to perform
Since your dance group had to submit the songs + a short clip of your performance to the student council, Akashi already knows what songs you are going to perform
Was going to do some more research on what the choreography involved, but you begged him not to because you wanted to surprise him at the festival
Doesn’t stop him from listening to the songs and familiarizing himself with the melodies and lyrics - k-pop is something you are passionate about and he always want to learn more about his girlfriend
While you and your group are on deck and getting ready to go on stage (he knows there are still two more acts before you) he stands next to you
Maybe kisses your forehead I AM SO SOFT FOR FOREHEAD KISSES FIGHT ME
“I’d say good luck, but I don’t think you’ll need it darling” afjaofe;ja;feka
You’re Akashi fucking Seijuro’s girlfriend - he has high standards and probably would date someone who is equally as hardworking + high achieving as him
Besides, outside of basketball he knows Rakuzan has an equally formidable dance program so the boy knows you are talented
Is so impressed when you start dancing to Cherry Bomb - the choreography is intense and requires so much synchronization as you switch between all the complex formations - he thinks you could teach the basketball team a thing or two about teamwork
You go HARD with the tutting at the end before you start doing edging your feet out until you’re almost doing the splits - Akashi respects how much strength and training went into performing the dance break + ending flawlessly
When the music changes to Move he is STARING at you - eyes are glued to your form as you perform
The moves are so sensual and he can see how you intensely look out into the audience - he can sense the sexual tension that fills the room
At the same time is awed by how much control you have over your body - he can see how every movement is planned, from the position of your hands to the way you shift your weight between each dance move
As your hands glide along your body, he can’t help but get slightly turned on
Also glares at all the male members of the student body who are looking at you a little too intently
When you finish your set he calmly hands you a water bottle while smiling proudly
May ask you for a private encore later
Aomine Daiki
You mention the performance in passing, probably while you and Aomine are having lunch on the roof
Despite his nonchalant response, Aomine remembers that you’re performing in the back of his mind - although he does get the occasional reminder from Momoi or teasing remark from Imayoshi
Doesn’t really want to get too involved in the school festival - it’s far too rowdy and he thinks the idea his class came up with for the festival is a hassle (imagine if it was a butler cafe LMAO poor Aomine)
Probably sneaks away from his shift managing his classroom’s booth or to find you and wish you luck (or uses you as an excuse to ditch his shift for a couple of minutes)
He knows you’re good at dance - he’s seen how many hours you spend rehearsing and how much you love dancing (and Kpop)
Will sneak into the auditorium and probably stand in the middle of the crowd - probably doesn’t see the point of cramming in the crowded area right in front of the stage
Impatiently waits for you to come up on stage, he’s bored and is sick of the skits that other groups are putting on
When it’s finally your turn he’s focusing intently on the stage. The instant you come out in a badass outfit with dark makeup and a black crop top he grins because you look AMAZING
The music starts and you launch into an intense sequence of tutting and formations shifts that has his eyes widening in surprise
now he understands why you always felt the need to drill the choreography into your muscle memory, because remembering moves on top of switching spots with everyone else makes the performance that much more impressive
Proud of his badass girlfriend
When Move comes on he smirks - although you can’t see him, he watches you move your hips and trace the outline of your figure
Can appreciate the sensual yet serious expression on your face that makes you look gorgeous, but definitely does not appreciate the dumbass boys in the audience who are drooling over your body
After the performance he finds you and kisses you before wrapping his arm around your shoulders
Scowling at the now intimidated boys from before, he says “Gotta remind those idiots that you’re mine”
Will definitely invite you over to his place to spend the night for some “quality time”
Kise Ryouta
Kise knows you’ll be performing a kpop dance at the school festival and is super excited
He probably helped style you and your team for each song - pulling out some leather jackets and ripped jeans for Cherry Bomb and picking out a diverse all black ensemble + accessories for your cover of Move
He hypes you up all day about the showcase: sends you good luck texts and gives you a hug before you have to go backstage + will keep you company when you do your make up before hand
Is not afraid to elbow his way through the audience so he can have a front row seat to your performance
Made the entire Kaijo basketball team come with him and instructs them to cheer loudly for your performance
He’s pretty up to date with current music trends and listens to a fair amount k-pop himself so he’d probably recognize the songs you were dancing to + be somewhat familiar with the choreography
When you come on stage he’s already shouting “Go y/n-chii!!!” which makes you smile and you manage to make brief eye contact with him right before you get into your starting pose
It’s like a switch is flicked - you went from being his cute and smiley girlfriend to a serious BADASS - your expressions are so intense and serious Kise can’t help but be drawn in
When he hears the opening line of Cherry Bomb he’s thinking oh shit because damn that choreography is tough
From the tutting, to moving in sync with all the other members, to all the different formation changes - he knows this is a challenging piece to perform
Gave you his leather jacket (he probably got it from a modelling gig or something) to wear and seeing you dance in his jacket is just *chef’s kiss* stunning
and it lets all the other annoying boys in the crowd know that you’re his because it has his jersey number embroidered on the back
If people start shouting the fanchants he’ll join in because anything to support his amazing girlfriend
When you all change outfits and switch to move he is dying
He’s right in front of you and you are making very direct and SENSUAL eye contact with your boyfriend while you move your hips into another body roll
Kise smirks back and will pin you with an equally intense and lustful stare
When he sees you after the performance he immediately strides towards you and pulls you into a fierce kiss
Spends the rest of the festival with his arm around you, bragging about his amazing girlfriend to anyone who will listen, then he’ll take you home and ;)
May take advantage of perfect copy and learn a duet/routine with you sometime in the future
Midorima Shintaro
MY CARROT BOI — I swear I am taking this seriously
Midorima probably doesn’t listen to too much kpop - he prefers being able to enjoy the lyrics of a song and listening to Japanese music means he won’t have to look up lyric translations
Maybe has heard some Japanese versions of kpop songs on the radio, but is overall unfamiliar with the genre (context: Since Japan has such a huge market for K-pop, it’s not uncommon for groups to release Japanese albums where they sing the the in Japanese)
When you first mention that your club is going to be performing at the school festival, he probably pictures some cutesy, bubblegum pop girl group song
Is putting this into his calendar and making sure he sets reminders because he is NOT about to miss his girlfriend’s performance
Secretly happy because you are putting in extra practice for the rehearsal which means you stay late at school. Since basketball practice always runs late he’s glad he now has the chance to walk you home
Day of: checks your Oha-Asa horoscope and makes sure that you have your lucky item - he will buy it himself if necessary
Knows you worked super hard on this performance so he knows you’re going to be fine
This tsundere carrot shyly wishes you good luck before you head backstage: “Good luck y/n, not that you’ll need it! Nanodayo…” with a slight blush on his cheeks
Makes his way back to the audience - he made Takao save him a spot
Somehow Takao got his hands on a setlist/hear rumors and figured out what you were performing and is secretly filming Midorima’s reaction because your boyfriend is about to COMBUST
Cherry Bomb comes up and Midorima immediately realizes this is NOT the cute girl group dance he was envisioning
Is probably watching your performance intently - he never realized that your choreography would be this intense and physical
Probably not as blushy during this one, just entranced and absorbed into your performance (will refuse to admit that he stared at you the entire time, even though Takao teases him about it later)
But when you transition to the cover of Move, oh gosh, this boy goes from stony faced to bright red tomato
Is 100% blushing and gaping at you while you perform the sensual routine, especially when your hands move across your body and you purposefully make eye contact with him
Realizing holy shit my girlfriend is so sexy holy shit you thought he was staring at you during Cherry Bomb his eyes are glued to your figure during Move
Probably rushes up to you awkwardly and gives you a surprise hug before whispering “Give me a little warning next time y/n.”
You giggle a bit, not mentioning the routine you’re learning on your own (Dally by Hyolyn: https://youtu.be/b75eENj0WCQ) surprise him with it in the future hehehehehehe)
Murasakibara Atsuhi
Murasakibara is hanging out in your dorm room when you mention that you have an upcoming performance
“Ohh y/n-chan that sounds fun”
Lowkey pouty baby because he wanted to laze around during the festival and just spend the day trying all the food with you
Now he won’t have his girlfriend to keep him company for the whole day
When you ask him if he’s going to come and watch, he’ll agree, because it’s at the school and it isn’t too much of a hassle and he knows you put in a lot of practice so he wants to support
Tatsuya probably still has to remind him about the performance on the day of
On the morning of your performance you wake up to find a bag of your favorite snacks and candies hanging on your doorknob
Murasakibara probably went to the nearby convenience store and bought you a bunch of “good luck” snacks to surprise you
Tatsuya and him walk into the auditorium, is kind of disappointed to see that it’s already packed so he has to settle for a seat farther away than what he liked
Thankfully he’s tall AF so he still gets a clear view of the stage
Snacks through the other performances/skits and gets pretty bored, he’s here to see you and you only
Finally, they announce your club - Murasakibara immediately perks up with interest
Your group has a badass entrance before you start performing Cherry Bomb
You decided to temporarily dye your hair red for the performance and Murasakibara is surprised when you whip off the hat you were wearing to reveal bright cherry tinted hair
He’s watched you practice the moves several time and knows you struggled to master some of them - super proud when he sees you slay those hard bits of choreography on stage
Move comes on the speaker and he immediately can sense that this is definitely a very sensual dance
Like damn, watching you move your hips to the beat and confidently gazing into the crowd, he is very turned on definitely wants an encore from you in private
When you hit the last pose and the lights dim he is IMMEDIATELY walking out of the auditorium to find you
Sees that you’re surrounded by some newly acquired fanboys and casually steps in behind you to wrap an arm around your waist
Towers over the guys surrounding at you, a scowl from him scares them off
You giggle at his antics because he’s cute when he’s jealous: “You don’t need to be that mean to them Atsushi”
“Y/n-chaaaan, can we go get food now?” - probably buys you all the snacks you want because he is proud
Also suggests that you dye your hair to match his purple locks just because

Hello! Thank you for answering my ask with the female Misaki reincarnation au! I just wanna ask, what about if Saru was the one who retains his memories of the past and not Misaki? Like he suddenly remembers his past life and recognizes people around him (even Misaki who is now a girl). What would he do then? Would he try to get close to Misaki in this life? Also what would his reaction be to Munakata? (sarumi again, please and thank you)
Going back to this AU, imagine poor Fushimi's depression when he realizes that he's been reincarnated and yet his parents still suck. Maybe his memories don't kick in right away, he has strange dreams sometimes of a world filled with people he's never seen before talking to him but he thinks of these are just dreams and he never tells anyone about them. He's mostly just a sad and gloomy child until one day in middle school a new girl transfers into his class, Fushimi looks up idly at her and thinks that she's like a total shrimp and her short hair makes her look like a boy. That night Fushimi has a really strong dream and wakes up breathing hard and sweating, all of his memories returning and he realizes exactly who the new girl at school is.
So now Fushimi isn't sure what to do, because of course the first thing he wants to do is cling to Misaki but she doesn't seem to remember him at all. I could see this making him a bit depressed, like I think Fushimi would wonder if something's wrong with him that he can remember Misaki but she can't remember him, like did Misaki not really care enough for him or what if Misaki didn't want to remember him (and especially not having met anyone else from the past yet and not knowing if they remember anything so Fushimi doesn't know if only Yata chose to forget memories). Fushimi initially tries to stay away from Yata, probably worried all over again about Niki breaking their friendship but also still filled with insecurities that Yata might not have wanted to be with him. However despite Fushimi not even trying to initiate a friendship maybe it just happens naturally anyway, even though Yata can't recall her previous life she still just finds herself drawn to this sullen gloomy kid in class and wanting to see him smile without even knowing why. For Fushimi though this is super important to him, he tries to feel out a couple times if Yata remembers anything but when it's clear she doesn't Fushimi feels like here he has a second chance to finally do things right with Misaki and stay by her side without hurting her (he does have to get used to female Misaki but I think that wouldn't be difficult for him at all, for Fushimi Misaki is Misaki regardless. The only thing strange is seeing a Yata who doesn't freak out at the sight of her own boobs).
When the two of them start attending high school together they probably end up meeting Mikoto at some point and Fushimi can't help but feel kinda protective of Yata, like he almost doesn't want to let her see him because the old jealousy feelings are so strong. He's determined not to repeat his mistakes in this life though and so he sits all quiet and sullen when Yata starts talking about how cool Mikoto-senpai is. Fushimi probably starts having insecurities again despite himself, like he can't help but think well this is a different life what if Misaki doesn't love me in this life and I have to let her go. Then he starts hearing rumors about Mikoto and a 'Munakata-senpai' and Fushimi thinks wait a second. That's when a long-haired girl in glasses appears and informs him that she is student council president Munakata Reisi and she would like to scout Fushimi to join the council, Fushimi is just staring because this is definitely a girl but also very definitely Captain too (and then Yata spots them talking and starts to get jealous of Munakata, and Fushimi continues to be oblivious to everything and thinks that he's letting Yata be happy with Mikoto while Yata's worried that maybe she isn't feminine enough for Saruhiko and that Munakata's going to steal him away).
#sarumi#Talking K#reincarnation AU is a CW dramedy waiting to happen XD#poor Saru he's like can I have normal parents next life#but he would be so insecure about Misaki not remembering anything#he probably feels a little better when he realizes Mikoto and Munakata don't remember either#except now he's worried that Mikoto really will steal Misaki away#and while he doesn't bat an eye at female Yata female Munakata is just...a lot#because it's Munakata in every way somehow

if you’re reading this...
navi/masterlist
pairing: mingi x reader
genre: fluff, some crack maybe?; best friends to lovers
word count: 2.6k
warnings: literally not a single one. implied frozen hate (i‘m joking)
for evigt / måske for evigt / skal vi sammen samme vej / og når i morgen får øjne og natten hviler sig / skal vi for evigt måske den samme vej - forever / maybe forever / we’ll take the same road together / and when tomorrow comes and the night goes to rest / we’ll maybe take the same road forever
it had become a routine that after your classes you’d walk to the café mingi was working at, getting a hot chocolate (to which he added an extra large amount of whipped cream while giving you a wink) and settling on whatever chair was free in order to study some until he got off work. sometimes you’d spice it up and get a different drink, and sometimes he’d spice it up and bring you a mystery drink to wherever you were studying. today, however, you just got the regular while you waited for your best friend to have time to entertain you. you’d had an exam today and really just wanted to yell about the phonetic inconsistencies you’d had to deal with, but you knew no one but mingi was willing to listen. so you had to wait for him, sighing in annoyance every couple minutes as you looked through your study materials.
when his shift was finally over you grabbed your stuff, throwing away the receipt and napkins that he insisted on giving you even though you told him time and time again you didn’t need them. then you rushed over to him, an exaggerated sigh of annoyance leaving your lips in order to make him ask you what was up. the boy wrapped his arms around you and laughed when you dropped your bag from the sudden embrace.
“you had an exam today. how’d it go?” this was what you loved about him - he always remembered these details about you and your life, he knew your schedule well enough to get worried when you were late, and he genuinely wanted to hear about things that were on your mind.
“don’t ask. how can a single language have this many rules that literally no one cares about? studying for this was just like this is the rule. yes we use it. no we don’t. you’re welcome.” you said the last sentences with a fake cheery voice, making your contempt for the exceptions that seemed to be more than the words that adhered to the rules obvious. then you kept on ranting while mingi grabbed his stuff, and while you left the café, and you first got done when you were already halfway to your place, glad that you got to let out some frustration.
“that sounds… hard”, he said, unsure of what else to say since he had no idea what exactly you were talking about. languages were your thing while maths was his, but you both still supported the incomprehensible monologues of the other whenever one of you got either really excited or really frustrated about their subject.
“if it were me, i would simply make the language follow the rules.” you laughed at that - he said exactly what you’d thought countless times before.
“mingi for language council president”, you joked and he looked at you with big, excited eyes.
“that’s a thing? would you vote me in?” now you had to laugh even more. he really didn’t know anything at all about your subject, but the excitement was adorable.
“sorry to disappoint, i don’t think that’d work. you can be the ceo of choosing the movie though, if that mends your broken heart even a little bit.” you were at your place now, and you could feel mingi vibrate with excitement next to you at the prospect of getting to choose the movie. he acted like a giant baby sometimes, but that only made you like him more. this was much better than someone who never got excited about anything.
you let both of you in, getting out your laptop and placing it on your desk chair next to the bed (you were a student, so you had neither a sofa nor a decent table, your desk being cluttered to a point where it was an act of mental gymnastics to even figure out it was a desk at all), joining the boy who’d already settled on your bed.
“what’s the choice?”, you asked, cursor hovering over the search bar.
“frozen.”
“of course.” you laughed but complied with his request, sitting back and leaning into his chest as the movie started playing. you loved movie nights with him - when you were spending time with him like this you were able to relax, and knowing he enjoyed it just as much only made it better. by now you’d seen several movies upwards of five times because they were your go-to choices, but it didn’t matter. it was less about the plot than it was about being close to him and enjoying each other’s presence even when you didn’t say much.
the night continued like this, your best friend choosing silly movies only and the both of you trying to one-up each other with bad jokes until you got tired and went to bed. this was how it usually went, and you wouldn’t want to miss this for anything in the world. going to bed together, waking up together, making early mornings a little easier to stand.
days went on like this, meeting mingi at work, spending evenings and nights together, and to you everything was as usual. you continued to not pay attention to your receipt when you ordered from your best friend, which resulted in him sending his coworker to you one day when you were again studying while waiting for him to get off. you looked up surprised when it wasn’t your personal delivery guy bringing you your drink, and were even more confused when you were handed a plastic cup instead of the regular porcelain one. then you noticed that there was something written on it with a sharpie.
if you’re reading this i’m in love with you.
you looked up at yeosang in shock - you barely even knew him! but he grinned at you and pointed at where mingi was unsuccessfully trying to hide behind the counter, making you realise just who had written the little note. you didn’t really know how to react - his shift wasn’t over yet and surrounded by customers wasn’t exactly the best situation for a serious conversation. but, once more to your surprise, the boy who’d delivered the cup to you went up to your best friend and told him to end early.
“it’s only like half an hour left anyway, i’ll deal.” you smiled at him with gratitude in your eyes as the tall boy slowly made his way towards you.
“do you want a reply right away or do you want to go home first?” from what you knew about him you knew his anxiety was probably eating him alive right now, but you also didn’t really want to talk about this in the middle of the street.
“let’s just go”, he replied, though he was still avoiding your gaze. you wanted to grab his hand, but you had to carry your stuff in one and the other was holding on to the cup with his confession; no way in hell were you going to throw that away. but then you realised he had his bag hanging over his shoulder, which left both his hands empty, made obvious by his nervous fiddling.
“can you carry my bag for me?”, you asked, and he immediately did. this gave you the chance to grab his hand and you smiled up at him as you gave it a reassuring squeeze. for the first time since you left he looked at you, and you could see the fear in his eyes. so you decided to hurry, not wanting him to have to deal with the anxiety by himself much longer.
you finally reached your place, and you didn’t even bother to take off your shoes when you got in before you asked him: “you confessed on a cup?” you tried to give him an appreciative smile, but to him it seemed more like a teasing one.
“well, i tried on your receipts, but you always threw them away without looking, so i just… didn’t know how else to.” he sounded so nervous, his deep voice trembling slightly, and you felt so bad.
“i didn’t know you’d written something there! i’m sorry”, you apologised, remorse apparent in your words, and this time it was his turn to smile at you reassuringly, though it wasn’t very convincing, his own anxiety making it hard for him to have any expression other than one of heart-crushing fear of your reaction.
“it’s fine. i could’ve just said something, too.”
you looked at the cup again, and you could see he’d tried his best to write prettily, which was why you hadn’t even recognised the handwriting as his at first. he’d really put in effort. and you were about to cry at how cute he was and how long he’d probably been trying to get your attention with his little notes and at all the cute confessions that were now in the trash and never to be seen again. but you stopped yourself before you got too sad at that thought, eyes focusing back on the message he’d left you.
“you mean this?”
“mm. i thought i should tell you.” his gaze was glued to the floor. “sorry i did it stupid like this though.”
you stared at him in shock. “take that back right now.”
“huh?” this wasn’t what he’d expected. he’d thought you’d turn him down or laugh at him or something, but not that you’d tell him to take it back.
“this is the sweetest thing ever and if you say it’s stupid one more time i’ll have to reconsider my feelings.”
this day was just full of surprises for him.
“your feelings?”
you smiled, holding the cup in front of his face with the message clearly readable to him. if you’re reading this i’m in love with you. and even though this technically confirmed that you reciprocated his feelings, he wanted to be sure.
“you mean it?” you nodded, looking him right in the eyes as you did so, hoping he could see that you were serious.
“pinky promise?” now you couldn’t help but laugh - this was such a mingi thing to do, making you pinky promise everything that held some importance to him. but it was another thing about him that made you fall in love with this idiot.
“pinky promise. silly.” the insult was more of a pet name, your voice almost as soft as your expression as you linked your pinky with his. after this he wrapped his arms around your waist, picking you up with a lot more energy than you’d expected him to have after having just worked a full shift. but here he was, all but jumping up and down with you in his arms, and as much as you liked it you had to stop him.
“mingi! the cup!” too late. the rest of your hot chocolate had been emptied over him, serving as a rather unconventional hair treatment. you were both laughing as he let you down and you dragged him to your bathroom, insisting on washing his hair right there.
“it’s gonna get sticky if i don’t” was the reason you gave him, but really you just felt soft and affectionate and happy and wanted to be emotional without him being able to look at you while you said sappy things. so you had him take off his shirt (which had received some of the chocolate treatment as well) and kneel down in front of the shower while you rinsed his hair with warm water.
“is this temperature fine?” you’d checked it on your hand, but you knew that the scalp was always a different story.
“it’s nice. this is nice.” even though you couldn’t see it you knew he was smiling, and you smiled as well.
“you were actually scared i didn’t like you?”
“mm.” you laughed in disbelief.
“you’re incredible. i all but moved in at the café just to see you!”
“mm.”
“i let you choose the movies even though i know you’re gonna choose frozen for the fourth time this week!”
“it’s a good movie!”, he defended himself. but you weren’t done.
“i’ve had you over so much i might as well have you join me in the rent contract, you’ve become more essential for a good night’s sleep than my blanket, i regularly steal your clothes, i-”
he interrupted you, laughing. he knew that if you weren’t washing his hair right now, you’d be using your fingers to count just how many things you thought had been dead giveaways.
“okay, i get it. but you didn’t realise either, so we’re even.”
“mm.” you turned off the water and yelled at him not to move when he tried to get out the shower before you’d put a towel on his head.
“now you can move.”
“how generous”, he teased you before sitting up, making sure his shoulders were dry enough to not drip on the floor either.
“if you can’t appreciate this i don’t think you deserve the honour of dating me.” this time it was your turn to tease him, but you hadn’t anticipated the reaction you got. he turned around so quick that he almost fell on his butt, staring at you wide-eyed.
“dating you?” he sounded so shocked that you weren’t sure if he liked the idea or hated it. so you decided to keep joking just so you wouldn’t embarrass yourself if he didn’t want to.
“i was thinking about it, but now i don’t think i want to”, you said, pretending to be sulky. but it seemed like he was still so in shock that he didn’t catch on to the fact that you were joking.
“o-of course i appreciate this, and you! and you. i’m-” you hadn’t expected him to actually take you seriously, so it took a moment to realise that he did, but as soon as you did you interrupted him.
“i’m joking! i’m joking”, and as if to convince him you smiled at him, the smile you usually gave him when he’d forgotten to bring something you’d asked him to and felt guilty. the ‘it’s okay, you didn’t do anything wrong, don’t worry’ smile.
“oh. so you’ll date me?”
“mm. but can you ask again? this isn’t very, like… romantic.” this time your smile was apologetic, but his was so bright you were sure that if you turned off the light right now you’d still be able to see perfectly.
he was still on the floor and made use of that as he shifted to be on one knee, looking up at you who was looking at him with a mix of shock, adoration and a held back laugh at his silliness on your face.
“y/n, will you be my girlfriend, wash my hair whenever someone spills their beverage on it, be there to remind me to not make a mess, and make me smile for as long as you can stand me?” mingi was being goofy to make it less awkward for the two of you, but you knew he meant it anyway, and even though you almost burst out laughing at his proposal your heart was beating faster than it should, your stomach feeling tingly and weird but in a good way.
“yes. now get up, you’ll get cold.” and with that you grabbed his hand, dragging him to your bed as you set up your laptop. it was time to watch frozen for the fifth time this week, but as you settled against your now-boyfriends warm chest and felt him kiss the top of your head with water dripping from his still wet hair onto your nose, you realised that you’d watch frozen every day for the rest of your life if that meant you’d get these situations for the rest of your life.

Rivals, but Not Quite
Pairing: Akane x reader
Words: 4441
also not a request,,, this account gives me too much productivity juice
"Aoi-chan, please, accept this letter of my appreciation!"
(Y/n) screwed her eyes shut, head hung with her hands extended forward, a pristine ivory letter clutched in them, sealed with a neat red heart.
Another heart, unsettled behind her ribcage, thumped with a familiar thrill.
"Ah! Of course (N/n)-chan! I’d be happy to."
A wicked smirk curves at her lips at these cheerful words.
With the bait accepted, the trap was set all to a perfect T.
The scene was perfect, from her flushed cheeks- from holding in her evil laughter- to Aoi-chan’s happy acceptance.
To his eye, it was yet another confession to their sapphire-haired friend.
In truth, though, it was only just a letter thanking Aoi-chan for being friends for her thrown in with some confetti and stickers she thought the girl would enjoy, a little thanks for obliviously going along with her evil plans.
She looks up at the beautiful girl under her lashes, unable to cross the smile from her lips, "Thank you, Aoi-chan! I hope we can be ever more than friends from now on!"
The letter asked Aoi-chan if she would like to be best friends, not just childhood friends- despite that they already were.
Aoi-chan only giggles, "I guess we’ll just have to see!"
Truer words had never rung so sweetly in her ears, she thought to herself as she stood upright, flashing her dearest friend a wink before making her way off, a chipper bounce in her step.
(e/c) glittering eyes shifted around, searching for a special someone.
The target of her ever apparent mischief.
However, a tap on her shoulder told her the target had found her first.
"You must be just over the moon with yourself, huh?"
She looks over her shoulder to find him towering, staring down at her like a disgusting bug he was about to squash with his shoe.
(Y/n) subtly checked to make sure there wasn’t actually a shoe above his head, ready to end this rivalry with all he’s got.
Before her lips curve upward, "Oh, yes, can you believe it, Akane-kun? Aoi-chan may finally just accept my confession!"
Actually, she would. (Y/n) was certain of this. She’d probably even be quite tickled by (Y/n)’s grandeur reaffirmation of their friendship.
"She didn’t say that," he smiles, accept unlike her smile, he is full to the brim with poison, ready to sink those pearly whites into her and be done with it, "She said she would see about it. Are you truly that stupid?"
She lazily wheels around to face him, dropping her head to one side, "Hah? Stupid? She at least said she’d look at it, didn’t she?"
Those dark chestnut eyes narrow at her, hatred dancing in those depths of his, it was what she lived for.
(Y/n) was sure this vicious cycle had begun back when they were just kids.
They’d been fighting for Aoi’s attention just like now, except back then (Y/n) had just been competitive and jealous, wanting to be her best friend’s favorite.
Though...
Somewhere along the line, she’d grown fond of those angry glances he’d give her when the blue-haired girl wasn’t looking.
Somewhere along the line, she’s begun to take joy in seeing just how far he would go if she just gave him a little push.
There was just something about that distaste he had for her that had her coming back for more, reliably.
So, knowing that, the vicious look he was giving her only stirred her on as she innocently traced her lower lip with her pointer finger, her own gaze locked with his unwaveringly, "Say, Akane-kun, when was the last time Aoi-chan looked at a letter from you...?"
Instantly, his hands were on her shoulders.
"Ah! Akane-kun! (N/n)-chan!"
And just as quickly did his grip loosen on her, only remaining as a threat.
A threat that did nothing but make her heart race, making the grin on her face irremovable as she looked up at him.
"Aoi-chan, good morning!" He greets their ‘shared’ friend with a welcoming smile, lashes against his cheeks as he no doubt tries to calm himself.
"Hey, hey, Aoi-chan," she salutes the girl cheerfully, "Long time no see!"
This stirs a giggle from her, "So silly, but good morning to the both of you!"
(Y/n) glances back up at the brunet under her lashes.
A silly, dreadfully childish game it was, but her favorite despite it all.
—-
(Y/n) walked in step with the boy, trying her best to match his strides despite his longer legs.
It was sort of fun, put a bit of a hop in her steps as she gazes down at their feet with a soft smile.
"Did you get that paperwork signed and filled out for the president?"
"Mhm!" She doesn’t look up, wondering why his steps have slowed down a smidgen and too focused on, once again, matching with him.
"All of it?" The stern tone draws her attention.
She bats her lashes at him curiously, "Yeah? Why wouldn’t I?"
However, as she looks up at him, she’s greeted with a harsh thump between brows, causing them to furrow and a hand to hastily flutter up to the spot.
"Why would you? Not doing it would only prove to get on my nerves, and that’s just like you."
As she rubs her injury, she peers up at him under her hand, a sheepish smile crossing her lips, "Maybe, but I’m not going to sacrifice my work to do that."
She lowers her hand, "I like working with the student council."
It was nice.
Sure, originally, she has joined to torment Akane-kun, but...
It made her feel sort of important that way.
Plus, it meant Akane had to rely on her sometimes, even though he hated it... and her. Which was more teasing than she had ever hoped to achieve in a club with him!
She’s quick to taunt him nonetheless, a toothy grin on her face as she shuts her eyes, waving a hand, "Man, you must be some masochist trying to give me new ideas!"
This thump is to the side of her head, not nearly as hard as the one to her face, probably to spare his fingers against her thick skull, "No, it’s my duty as the Vice President to make sure you’re doing your job, idiot."
"Ah, right, right!" She looks away, hiding her smile as she cups her cheek.
Akane-kun really was amazing, wasn’t he?
Even though he thumped her so often.
(Y/n) was pretty he was the only person who’d thumped her before.
Coincidentally, he was probably the only person she would let get away with thumping her, anyone else and she’d be happy to bite their fingers quicker than they could get them away from her.
Mm... well, Aoi-chan could definitely get away with it too, but-
"(N/n)-chan!"
(Y/n) nearly tripped over her own feet at the sudden arms thrown around her, making her choke on her surprise and her spit as she fought to keep them on their feet.
"You’re such a sweet girl!" (Y/n) looked over her shoulder, arms held out a little frantically still to keep their balance, Aoi-chan looking beautifully unbothered as ever, "I can’t believe you’d say such kind things to me."
(Y/n)’s face grows hot at this, "O-Oh, did you read my letter?"
Her lashes flutter open, revealing her big shiny eyes, filled with warmth, "Of course!"
She beams, suddenly leaning forward.
(Y/n) can only stand still, having a hard time processing her friend’s affectionate kiss to her cheek, "I accept! I accept a thousand times!"
This made her smile unabashedly, turning in her grip to adoringly hug her friend back, "Awe, Aoi-chan! Was it really that much of a surprise?"
"No, but I forget how kind you are sometimes!" Her blue-haired friend explains, "You’re always such a joker, it’s hard to see."
"I’ll ignore that jab because you’re cute," (Y/n) announces, giving her a good squeeze before slipping out of the hug while her friend is laughing.
However, as she glances up, just offhandedly, she remembers Akane-kun.
Her face falls.
It’s like time has stopped at that moment, leaving the two of them in a bubble.
She stares up at him as he stares back down at her, his dark eyes round enough to let the light touch the honey flecks in them.
For once, he doesn’t even look angry with her.
For once, (Y/n) didn’t even want to make him angry with her.
Her heartbeat stutters in her chest, a sickly feeling finding her.
A mistake.
She’s made a mistake.
She was sure of it.
-
(Y/n), for once, sits silently in the club room, doing her new wave of paperwork during the actual time Minamoto Senpai provided.
She keeps her eyes down on her papers, away from the boy who was always at the center of her attention, even now as her hands begged to fidget.
She felt off. She felt wrong. She felt bad.
She hadn’t even done anything!
Not really, anyways. It wasn’t like she actually confessed to their friend, nor had she actually accepted (Y/n) as her girlfriend. In truth, it was his fault for making assumptions!
...
So... why did she feel like she’d royally messed up...?
Sure, Akane-kun wouldn’t look at her, or speak to her, or even breathe in her direction, but that wasn’t her fault!
He was the idiot, not her!
...
But boy did she feel like a couple of cents short of a dollar.
Which is probably why, for once in her life, if not the first time, she actually was leaving Akane-kun alone.
Sure, she liked to get him all riled up and argue with him at every chance she got, but she didn’t...
She didn’t.... what?
Want him to hate her...?
He already hated her. Why was this so different?
"Is the new paperwork that confusing, (L/n)?"
She blinks down at it, finding her pen hovering just above the signature line.
Slowly, she tears her wide eyes away to gaze up at Minamoto senpai.
"S-Sorry!" She curses the squeak on her voice, "No, not at all, I’ll have it on your desk by the end of the hour, senpai."
This does not make him go away, as she had hoped.
"Any particular reason why?" He tilts his head to the side, eyeing her, "You always take your work home."
That was true.
"Oh, uhm. It’s just really easy today!" She forces her lips up in a hopefully reassuring and not terrified-looking smile, "No worries here, senpai."
"Ah... okay," she stills with surprise when his hand suddenly finds her head, tousling her (h/l) fluffy locks, "If there’s something on your mind, feel free to come speak with me, though, alright?"
She looks up at him, trying to force down her fluster, "O-Okie dokie!"
He offers her a small, kind smile, before moving away from her desk, allowing her to turn her eyes back down to her work.
Gosh! Now she was even bothering the president?! Akane was surely going to murder her in her sleep!
—-
"(Y/n)-chan! Where are you going?"
She looks over her shoulder to find Aoi-chan dragging Akane-kun by the hand, hurriedly making her way over to her.
"Oh. Just up to the roof," she says, feigning nonchalance, "I forgot about some homework last night, so I thought some quiet would make it go by faster."
"Homework?" Aoi-chan bats her lashes at this and her.
(Y/n) arches a brow, she hadn’t actually forgotten the homework, but she had an inkling she knew who did, "For math class...?"
Aoi-chan gasps, "Oh dear."
(Y/n) offers her a warm smile, "I’m sorry, but you’re going to have to ask Akane-kun for help on his one, okay?"
Aoi-chan flashes her an odd look, "Huh? But we’ve always done math together..."
(Y/n) quickly turns away, gesturing away from the idea, "I’ve just got too much work today! Sorry! See you in class!"
She didn’t want to brush her friend off so carelessly.
She just didn’t think her heart could take the cold shoulder anymore... not so close, anyways.
The hope was that if she gave Akane-kun some more time alone with their friend that maybe the mix up would get untangled, and he’d show at least some vague toleration for (Y/n) again.
It was only a hope though...
A foolish one too! Akane-kun wouldn’t forgive her so easily after what she’d unintentionally, sort of intentionally done!
There was a sudden haste in her steps as she made her way up the stairs.
She was hopeless! A dumb dumb! She could do nothing but struggle her way through life- and also bother Akane-kun!
She threw open the door, letting out a frustrated yell, ignoring the weird looks she got from the very few already on the roof.
-—
"You know, you shouldn’t be so hard on (Y/n)-chan all the time."
Akane blinks, the utterance coming out of left field.
What did this have to do with the angles of a triangle...?
Aoi-chan gazes up at him, head resting between the hands cupping her cheeks.
He offers her his best smile, "I’m not sure I know what you’re talking about. Now, how about we try-"
"Akane-kun, you’re a smart boy," she sighs, long dark lashes finding her porcelain cheeks, "You really haven’t figured it out?"
His brows draw at the jarring question, "Aoi-chan..."
She cracks open one eye, telling him flatly, "(Y/n) has a crush on you. You can’t really tell me you haven’t noticed."
She says, as though she’s talking about yesterday’s weather. Except, the weather, in this case, was something outlandish and vaguely horrifying to him, like the story of oobleck raining down from the sky.
"Pardon me?" Is all he can say.
His longtime crush sighs, shaking her head almost disappointedly, "Oh, Akane-kun... I had hoped my little performance yesterday would have made you realize."
"But in the end, you didn’t even realize it was an exaggeration at all, did you?" Akane feels a little nervous under Aoi’s sudden evaluation.
"I’m sorry, Aoi-chan, won’t you explain? I’m- uh. I’m not really following," he tries to smile.
She laughs a little at this, "Akane-kun, (Y/n) hasn’t ever asked me out."
He blinks.
"The letter yesterday? She just told me how much she enjoys our friendship," Aoi smiles fondly, "The only thing she asked, was that if I would consider her one of my best friends."
Friends...?
"Really?" He reaches up, looking away as he runs his fingers through his hair, trying to ignore the embarrassment creeping up his neck.
If that was the case, why didn’t the stupid girl just say so?
"I don’t think she expected me to make such a big deal out of it," Aoi-chan says, as if reading his mind, "And since you’ve been so mean... she’s probably too scared to correct you."
"Scared?" He gawks immediately, "Out of all the stupid stunts she’s pulled, she’s going to get cold feet on the one that works?"
Aoi flashes him another unamused look, "Akane-kun, she likes you. She wants your attention. She doesn’t want you to actually be upset with her."
Well, serves her right! She was always causing him problems. She could stand for him to cause her a couple for a change.
"I really thought you’d get jealous and confess if I acted like we were dating."
His eyes hastily dart up, "Huh?"
Aoi’s brows draw, lifting a finger as his lips part, "The answer is no."
He squints at her, "Then why did you say that! My hopes shot up."
Crossing his arms, he listens, "I meant to (Y/n)! Not me."
"I’ve heard it all now!" He huffs, promptly looking away, face screwing up, "Confess? To that she-demon?"
He can picture her now with her dumb fluffy (h/c) hair, two red horn poking from her head, a pitchfork clutched between her hands and that mischievous look she got in her eyes before she did something less than intelligent.
"Yes, our childhood friend, (Y/n)," Aoi informs him firmly, but then adding, astounding him further, "Who I’m almost completely sure you have a bigger crush on than she has on you!"
The accusation is so wild he can’t even find the words to respond.
Any word he’d ever heard, learned or even glanced at all died on his tongue at that moment, staring at the sapphire-haired angel across from him.
"That’s right," she chirps, a big smile finding her lips, "You’re in love with (Y/n)-chan!"
No?
It really wasn’t right!
But his tongue still refused to cooperate.
Aoi is no fool, "You really don’t see it?"
He only shakes his head, helpless almost silently begging her not to explain.
"It’s almost romantic in a way!"
In what way?!
"She’s the only one I’ve ever seen get you so frazzled so quickly, you know. Sometimes I wonder if she secretly lights you on fire something she gets such a quick reaction out of you."
Because she was a heathen! He wants to interrupt, shut down this argument immediately.
"Not to mention (Y/n)... every time you’re in the room she can barely stop from grinning! She’s so cute when you come around. She gets all giddy."
Again... demon. Sadist. Gremlin.
"But the reason I think you like her..."
He lifts his gaze up to meet hers at this.
She smiles softly, "Is because she gets you so riled up about things that don’t even have anything to do with me."
He blinks, lips jumping apart to deny this, but...
He supposed her student council antics hadn’t anything to do with Aoi-chan... or her dumb texts... or even the notes she would usually pepper him with during class.
Wow.
Aoi-chan was right.
(Y/n), herself, completely apart from Aoi… her very presence was enough...
…
to make him annoyed beyond comparison.
"That doesn’t mean I like her."
Aoi-chan groans, burying her face into her hands, "Just go apologize!"
---
After finishing her paperwork in record time...
Well, not really, she only finished it so quickly because it was all she had to work on during lunch...
But, that wasn’t the point! The reality of it was that meant she got to go home early!
All she had to do was ask Minamoto senpai and she’s be free!
She wouldn’t even bother Akane-kun with an awkward walk home today!
She was nailing this whole ‘staying out of Akane-kun’s way’ thing today.
Sure, things had gotten rocky, and there had been plenty of obstacles, but now the end of the day was here and she’d call this new forced talent a success!
She drops the stack of paper on the president’s desk proudly.
"I’ve finished all my work today, Minamoto-san."
"It’s only been fifteen minutes...?" His brows draw.
An inkling of panic strikes her, not wanting to let him down, so she’s honest, "I had some free time at lunch, so I worked on it earlier, I would never speed through it!"
However, the weird look he’s giving her doesn’t waver.
"Is everything alright, (L/n)? Or are you just on some strange productivity kick...?"
She offers him an apologetic smile, "Uhm... just a productive spur, yeah..."
She hastily looks out the window, trying to act like she has some vague sense of composure, "So- uh, I was actually wondering if- uhm, if I could go home early, since, y’know, did all my work and- uh-"
His small chuckle makes her eyes shift back, "Yes, (L/n). You’re free to go."
Mentally, she cheers, setting off fireworks, shuffling pom-poms, celebrations inside like no other!
Until her ears prick.
"Ah. I’ll be taking my leave as well," another packet of pages hits his desk, "This is the last report you asked for, correct?"
Slowly, her heart begins to sink in her chest, like a balloon full of helium forgotten, losing its will to float.
Her plan had backfired right in her face...
Now he was going to think she was going out of her way to cause him trouble again! That wasn’t what she wanted!
She hides her inner turmoil with a smile, "Oh. Cool. That’s great."
"Alright then...?" Senpai offers them a confused smile, "Have fun you too."
"Of course, have a nice rest of your day, President."
However, (Y/n) is already working on hightailing it out of there, at the door by the time either of them notices she’s disappeared.
"Let me get that for you."
This plan ALSO fails, as he reaches right around her, grabbing the handle and twisting it before she can even lift a hand.
Why...? Why was this happening to her?
She was genuinely trying her best!
Let her have this! Let her give him peace for once, life! Just this once!
"A-Ah, thank you, Akane-kun," she breathes, hastily making her way out of the newly opened doorway.
He follows right behind her.
For a moment, even despite her quicker strides, those cursed long legs carry him to her side with ease.
She stares down at the floor, silently panicking, wondering just how she was going to get herself out of this one.
"So, (Y/n), how has your day been?" His words stunned her, "Haven’t seen you around so much today."
"R-Really?" She mentally slaps herself for stuttering, refusing to look up at him even though she can feel his intense gaze, "I- uh, I didn’t notice. Today has been fine."
Maybe that was good! He noticed she was keeping out of his way, right? Maybe her efforts weren’t in vain!
As she glances up, making sure she wasn’t about to run into anything, her eyes catch on something.
"Well-"
"The bathroom!"
She looks up, not having meant to say it like that, falling victim to meeting his gaze.
He blinks at her, looking reasonably surprised by her outburst.
Her face is on fire as she hastily forced the words out, "I- uhm. I have to use the restroom. You can go ahead."
Nailed it.
"Oh no, that’s alright. I’ll wait out here for you."
Failed it.
Her feet wouldn’t even move, all she could do was gaze up at him, wondering where she went wrong.
"Why?"
The question falls right off her strawberry lips.
"‘Why’ what?"
She quickly tears her gaze away, "Oh, nothing, don’t worry about it, let’s just go!"
"But-"
"Changed my mind!" She’s quick to leave him in her dust again, almost robotically marching forward.
Only to get jerked back as though something caught her by the neck...
Well, by the shoulder, but fair enough.
"For your own sake, can you quit acting so weird!"
She blinks up at him, frozen.
He scowls down at her, looking frustrated as ever with her, making her heart skip a beat or two.
"I am trying to make an effort here, (Y/n)."
Here...?
Wh- With her?!
Was the world ending or something?! What the hell did he want with her of all people?
They’re were dated rivals! They were arch enemies! They were-
"I wanted to apologize."
Doomed.
She was doomed.
She was sure she had three days left to live, or something fatal and final that only Akane knew about because why on this entire big blue marble would he apologize to her?
She bats her eyes at the end waving in front of her face, "Oh quit acting so surprised. Won’t you listen for five seconds?"
Her face grows hot as her gaze darts up to meet his narrow coffee-stained one, "S-Sorry..."
He roughly threads his fingers through his hair, observing her with annoyance written clearly on his features.
"Don’t apologize," he tells her, his voice lacking its usual edge, "You haven’t done anything."
She makes a face at this, making him huff in return, "I meant right now. You’ve done many unacceptable things."
This lights a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she gazes up at him.
"You think so?"
"That was very obviously not praise."
She quiets, more than pleased to have him just bark at her again.
Maybe things were okay again...?
"Look, (Y/n)..."
She does, he has all the attention she has to give.
He taps his foot quietly against the floor, "I just- I wanted to say I’m sorry about yesterday... and today, too, I guess."
He guesses?
Wait, that wasn’t important, she didn’t deserve this apology anyways, she was going to take what she could get.
"I made a false assumption about you and Aoi, and I was..."
She raises a brow as he trails off, gazing down at her.
His lips tug back distastefully as he quickly looks away, "I was a little too hard on you. I see that now."
Hah?
"I apologize for being unnecessarily rude to you without reason."
Ah. She liked that last part. So, if she ever gave him another reason, he would it again.
Good to know.
Despite her sour thoughts, she can’t help but smile up at him, adoringly as ever.
"It’s okay, Akane-kun. I don’t blame you."
He stares at her a little oddly.
“Maybe I should go a little easier on you too,” she admits, reaching up to scratch her cheek, not willing to look away despite her embarrassment, “I really didn’t mean to make you angry with me...”
She jolts a little when his hand pats her shoulder, “I know, (Y/n).”
He did?
“I admit, you’re terrible, but I don’t hate you.”
“You don’t?” She parrots immediately, eyes sparkling up at him.
Using his hand on her, he lightly pushes her along.
“No, but I might start to if you don’t get moving. This is the one day I’m able to leave early this week.”
“R-Right!” Her lips almost hurt at the big smile on her face.
Akane-kun actually... tolerated.... her.
Who would’ve thought?
Certainly not (Y/n), but the new confirmation brought a blush to her face, more than sure that she would never let this down.
Maybe if she pestered him more he’d even like her one day!
“You are ready to go home, right...?”
“Yup!” She chirps, looking up at him delighted as he frowns.
“Don’t look at me like that,” he averts his eyes, “That’s your ‘I’m getting ideas’ look. Stop it.”
“Ideas? I haven’t a clue what you’re talking about!”
“(Y/n), did we not just agree to be nice to each other?”
“Funny, but those words did not leave my mouth, Akane-kun.”

Legal Bug
Hey there, this is a one-shot I wrote today as it refused to leave me alone! I’m not too happy with the end of it but my sleep deprived brain wanted me to post it before it got lost on my harddrive! Hope you enjoy it!
Marinette knew that her classmate's thought that her only interest was in fashion. She also knew that they didn't think she was very smart. What they didn't know was that she was the youngest student in the class, having skipped two years. While it was true that her primary passion lay in fashion, over the years she had developed a passion for the law as well. It had started when she had seen how Adrian was treated by his father and had been nurtured by sheer necessity after becoming Ladybug.
After seeing one too many people becoming Akumatized due to fear while being trapped in Abusive relationships, Marinette knew that she needed to be able to help them. As Marinette, she couldn't do anything. As ladybug, she was able to find out where they lived and was able to guide them to the right lawyers that would happily take on pro-bono cases. When Lila had joined her class she knew that she wasn't looking at a girl who wanted attention, she was looking at an undiagnosed psychopath with a heavy dose of narcissism thrown in. She also knew that Lila was a pathological liar and that despite what Adrian had to say, taking the high road would not help them in the long run. Marinette knew that with so many enablers in her class she would have to work hard to get out as soon as she could. With this in mind, she threw herself into her studies. She was still Ladybug and she still did her duties as class president to the best of her abilities but she stopped doing all the extra things she had done for the class. Seeing how Adrian had refused to stand up for himself against Lila had made her realise that he would never stand up to his father either and had killed her crush on him faster than anything else could have. When Lila had pushed for her to be ousted as class president, Marinette had simply cancelled any plans she had made for the class, withdrew the money she had set aside out of her own pocket for any outings and dumped all the paperwork on Alya as Lila had said she couldn't run as president. She had then approached the student council and joined that instead as she knew that, while it was unlikely any prospective employer would care about it being on her resume, she wanted the experience. Her duties on the council were slightly less time consuming than the class president duties and she had used that time to push ahead in her studies. By the end of the year, she was a grade and a half ahead of the rest of her class. To hide how far ahead she was, she had asked Mr Damocles not to change her class but to rather let her teachers know that she was much further ahead than the rest of her class and to assign her work appropriately. He had readily agreed however it seemed Ms Bustier didn't read the memo. As a result, she handed all her work into Ms Mendeleiev instead. Ms Bustier got handed copies of her older assignments and any marks received from her were ignored by the school board. Ironically it was having to do this that brought Ms Bustier up in front of the school board for incompetence shortly after Marinette had graduated when Ms Bustier had tried to report Marinette for truancy. It was then that Lila's lies started to unravel but the grip she had on Marinette's old class was so tight that they didn't even notice when things were going wrong anymore. Less then a month after she had officially graduated from high school she had figured out who Hawkmoth was. She knew after the first time Chat had reacted negatively to the idea that Gabriel Agreste could be Hawkmoth, that he wouldn't be able to help her in the upcoming fight against him. So she went to master Fu with an idea. Make her parents temporary holders of the fox and turtle. Her father's build would provide the intimidation factor that they needed to scare Hawkmoth, while her mother could create decoys to distract Mayura. The key part of the plan would be to wait for Hawkmoth to Akumatize someone, then while chat distracts the Akuma, Ladybug, Tartaruga and Hú bù wǔ (Foxtrot) would head to the Agreste mansion to deal with Hawkmoth and Mayura. The took Master Fu as Serpens with them to collect and important documents that pertained to the miraculous as they didn't want to leave those in Gabriel's possession any longer than they had to. It didn't take long to convince her parents to be temporary holders, though neither Fu nor Marinette revealed that it was Marinette asking them for the favour and not Ladybug. They didn't have to wait too long to act on their plan either. Thankfully the Akuma that was sent out was a rather benign one that simply made anyone it hit speak what they were really thinking and while Chat had to work hard not to get hit, it wasn't causing any true damage. Hawkmoth went down relatively fast, to Ladybug's relief but Chat was still hissing angrily when she arrived a full hour later to the Akuma. One lucky charm later and the Akuma was defeated, however, Chat decided to let her know exactly how angry he was at being left to deal with it alone for so long. Marinette, as Ladybug, looked at Chat the whole time he was berating her, not giving her a chance to talk. Eventually, he seemed to run out of steam when Alya showed up for an interview and started to ask questions of her own. Ladybug had put a hand on her hip in annoyance by this stage and when she answered her voice was sharp. “Well, Chat if you had let me speak earlier you wouldn't be left looking like a fool now! To answer your question, the reason I was late is I had a lead on who Hawkmoth and Mayura were and I was acting on it.” Alya was the one to pick up on her word choice. “Were?” She asked. “Yes. Were. While Chat was keeping the Akuma occupied Tartaruga, Hú bù wǔ, Serpens and I were dealing with Hawkmoth and Mayura. They have been defeated and will no longer be attacking Paris. This is the last Akuma Paris will ever see.” Alya and Chat's jaws dropped. “But-” Chat didn't get the chance to continue as Serpens slipped behind him and removed his ring. Soon Adrian was standing where Chat had been just moments before. Alya instantly rounded on him asking questions by the dozen and Ladybug and Serpens slipped away unnoticed. They both dropped their transformation then she looked at Master Fu for a moment. “Master” he held up a hand then removed the snake miraculous and placed it in the box. “I am old Marinette,” he said sadly. “It's time I passed on the duties of Guardian as I will no longer be able to fulfil them. You may be young but you are wise and more importantly, you are ready. I hereby name you as Guardian of the miraculous.” As soon as he finished speaking a soft glow covered both of them. Master Fu smiled at her. “I have ten minutes before the memory erasure takes hold. Please stay safe Marinette, you have been a blessing to teach and I love you like a grandchild.” With that Marinette was left alone in the ally with the bag that held what felt like the weight of the world. When the news reached her a week later that he had died she insisted on being the one to arrange his funeral, getting help from Wayzz on what he'd have wanted. It was as Marinette was trying to decide what she wanted to study that she came across her first big stumbling block. What did she want to study more? Fashion or Law? She debated with herself for almost a week before Tikki, in a fit of frustration, had asked her why she didn't just study both. To Marinette, it was as though her path was suddenly clear. So she submitted her application to ESMOD with the plan to finish her fashion major there before heading to Harvard in the USA. To make sure she could get into Harvard when she finished at ESMOD, Marinette sent her application in at the same time as she sent her applications in at the same time, though she sent a letter with the one that went off to Harvard and was surprised to see she had been accepted into both. The committee at Harvard had been so impressed that she had planned so far ahead that they were holding a spot for her and she wouldn't have to re-apply when she had finished her other degree. Her time at ESMOD flew by with several of her teachers trying to get her to agree to go to work in a fashion house as soon as she graduated but Marinette stuck to her plan. She was using the money from her commissions to pay her way through her courses and for her transfer to America so she had taken to working at a coffee shop whenever she could, in order to have a little extra, just in case! She had also taken up dancing in her spare time, though she knew that that would always only be a hobby. Her time in Harvard got off to a rocky start. So rocky in fact that she reminded a number of the staff of Elle Woods. Marinette didn't let the rest of the student body know that they were getting to her however the staff saw it and decided to intervene. They contacted Elle and got her to come in for a guest lecture. They told her about Marinette and when Elle saw how similar they were she knew she had to help. It was then that a case dropped in her lap that she knew she would need help with. So she went to the Harvard board with an idea, let her take 4 students on to help her with the research and they would get to see how it really was in court as well as gain some real-world experience. The board loved her idea and soon the other lecturers had managed to get all of their first years students to apply. Marinette hadn't placed much hope in getting a position but had read up on the case anyway and she had several questions about what she had read. Soon the shortlist was posted on the announcements board and the news quickly spread around the campus. Marinette had been in a dance class so when she hears that she had been one of the ones chosen, she quickly went to double-check. She didn't want to show up only to find out it wasn't true after all. She was thrilled to see that she had been chosen and
ran to her dorm to make sure all of her notes where in order. The Kwami's all danced around her in celebration and helped get everything ready. Duusu went through Marinette's wardrobe to make sure she had the perfect outfit ready for her which had Marinette smiling happily. When she arrived at the meeting room she was nervous, but she relaxed slightly when given the brief. They were defending a man accused of killing his boyfriend when he had left him for someone else. Marinette had frowned when she heard that, something Elle noticed straight away. “What's wrong, Marinette?” Elle asked. “I'm not sure,” she answered, which made the other three laugh at her. “Probably doesn't understand the case as it doesn't involve fashion.” One said derisively. “It's not the case I don't understand. There's just something that doesn't fit with the police reports.” Marinette's voice was thoughtful and she had yet to look up from the file in front of her to judge any of their reactions. Her classmates were scoffing at Marinette's logic but Elle had a small smile on her face. Marinette had good instincts and Elle couldn't wait to see how Marinette would prove that their client was innocent. “Right Marinette seems to have a lead she would want to follow, what about you three? What's your take on this? If this was your case what would you want to know?” Elle asked. They didn't answer, how could they answer when they hadn't even looked at the case, they thought that they would just be watching the process not that they would be participating. “Ms Woods?” Marinette's timid voice startled them. “Yes, Ms Dupain-Cheng?” “Just Marinette, please. Anyway if our client was going to kill his boyfriend why was there no history of violence? Something doesn't add up here. From cases I saw in France if one partner was going to kill the other, there was generally several warning signs. I mean sure they could have come home one day and snapped but from our client's statement, it was an amicable break up with no hard feelings. Sure our client still loved the deceased but there is nothing that would indicate he could go into a murderous rage. In fact, if I look at his company log here our client was still at work when the crime happened. This company is infamous for having cameras everywhere because they have several high profile people that work with them, was any video footage pulled at any stage?” “Good! That is the type of thinking one would need when taking this case. Did you notice anything else?” Marinette frowned, there was something else but she just couldn't place it. It was only as she was sitting in court behind Elle that the thing that had been bugging her for weeks hit her. She waited for a recess before she said anything. “Ms Woods?” She started hesitantly. “Yes, Marinette?” “The shirt that was found that had the blood splatter on it was polyester, right? The type the new boyfriend wears.” “Yes, the prosecution said it was left behind by our client. Why?” “Well, I've noticed that our client only ever wears silk, linin or cotton designer shirts. Never polyester, so why would he have been wearing a polyester shirt that day? Is it possible that our client is allergic to polyester?” Elle looked at Marinette and smiled. “Why didn't I see that? They're not even the same size! Our client is at least 10 pounds heavier than the new boyfriend!” Marinette nodded then added, “Even if he had been wearing the shirt, it would sit differently on him causing the blood splatter pattern to be different. I know he doesn't have an alibi that can be proven and that this is a long shot but can we please check?” Elle agreed quickly and soon it was proven to have been impossible for their client to have done it. Something more caught Marinette's attention when the man, the new boyfriend, muttered something in French while still on the stand. The judge noticed Marinette's head shoot up with wide eye's and saw Marinette frantically write something down on her notepad and hand it to Elle. “Councillor Woods, your student seems to have something to add would you let her do so?” The Judge asked. Elle nodded and brought Marinette forward. The judge looked at Marinette and motioned for Marinette to speak. Marinette took a deep breath, “I'm sure you didn't mean for the mike to pick up what you just muttered in French but would you please repeat it so that the court can hear it?” The man narrowed his eyes but repeated his sentence quite calmly, he was relaxed as he thought that no-one in the room could French. His confidence took a hit however when Marinette smiled. “If it may please the court, what he just said translates to: 'This worked before, why did it fail this time?' I know you might not believe me but as everything is being recorded I beg of you to confirm my translation with other people who speak french.” The judge looked at her thoughtfully, then spoke: “How do you understand French?” Marinette was confused, “I thought my accent would have given that away, your honour. I am French. I grew up in France speaking French.” At her innocent statement, the witness exploded. “Why the hell he even come home that day the ex was meant to fetching some stupid MDC brand clothes that would never have suited me but that my boyfriend insisted we give back. He wasn't even meant to be home!” The court fell silent, then everyone started speaking all at once. The case got thrown out in much the same way Elle's first case had been and the other three students were stunned. “How did you know?” They demanded, rounding on Marinette as soon as they entered the room that they had all been using. Even Elle was a little curious she had to admit.” “What do you mean? If you talking about the allergy to polyester it was in one of the courses I took for my fashion degree that designers have to be careful to take textile allergies into account when designing.” Elle looked at her. “I knew you studied fashion, but so did I before I attended Harvard and that wasn't in any of my classes.” “I studied to be a fashion designer at ESMOD before I came here. I aim to be able to represent people in abusive relationships to help them get out of those situations. If I want to do that pro-bono I needed to have something else that I could do in order to support myself financially.” Her voice was innocent and honest but they could see the passion in her eyes as she spoke. “Why that area?” Marinette smiled again but this time it was a sad smile. “I grew up in Paris while a man called Hawkmoth was terrorising everyone to the point that people were locking away their feeling simply to stay safe. I saw several people get targetted simply because they were afraid of their partner for one reason or another. Sometimes they were able to get help to get out, but sometimes they weren't. Some of those that weren't couldn't get out because of not being able to afford a lawyer and I want to be able to help those that fall into that category.” For the first time since they met her, her classmates were quiet. They had thought she was there to get the attention of a rich guy who would support her. Elle smiled at Marinette's reason for studying law too then a thought hit her. “Wait, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, MDC, you're MDC aren't you?” Marinette laughed and nodded before answering. “Yes, I am but I wanted to be treated like an equal so I didn't advertise that fact.” Again her three classmates were stunned. This clumsy girl was a world-famous designer? How had they missed that? Elle seemed to get a little more flustered with each moment that passed. “But that means... And you know...” “Ms Woods, are you alright?” Marinette said quietly. “I'm still the same person you thought I was a moment ago. I'm still clumsy and prone to having anxiety attacks if I'm not careful. I'm human just like everyone else.” Technically she wasn't 100% human anymore due to being a miraculous wielder but no-one needed to know that. Eventually, Elle calmed down and thanked them for their help during the case. Their professors would be getting a copy of her reports on how they did as soon as she was finished them. She also promised that she would leave what she know knew about Marinette out of her report. She also wouldn't let that knowledge influence her report in any way. Eventually, Marinette graduated from Harvard, however before going back to France to set up her practice she decided to visit her long term pen-pal in Achu. Ali had been delighted when she arrived and soon Marinette had changed her mind about where she would set up her practice, deciding to stay in Achu full time. Her practice soon flourished as did her design business. However, the thing that flourished most of all was her relationship with Ali. What had started as a friendship and continued when they had agreed to email each other had grown into love without either of them noticing it. They kept their growing relationship out of the news and when they had decided to get married they made sure that news was kept silent too. It was on a rather warm Friday morning that Marinette got an email that she wasn't sure she wanted to answer. She had been invited to her 15-year school reunion. She spoke to Ali and they decided she would schedule a photo shoot in France that week and he would deal with several appointments there too and they would attend. She knew that she would be able to leave at any time so she wasn't too worried about that, however, she was 4 months pregnant, and she wanted to be careful. The photoshoots went well and it was finally the day of the reunion. Marinette decided to wear one of her designs, a simple navy-blue jumpsuit with a mandarin collar, embroidered with a geometric design in shades of blue that made the suit shimmer beautifully as she walked. She paired it with kitten heels, glad that her pregnancy wasn't showing
or affecting her balance in any way yet. Tikki had said that that was normal for all miraculous holders but Marinette still tended to err on the side of caution. When she arrived she saw that it wasn't just her old class that was there, which she was happy about. She had instantly gone to talk to Marc as she didn't want to deal with Alya or any of the others. This strategy had worked until Lila spotted her and decided to make a big scene about her being there. “I was invited Lila, I can pull up the email if you want me to and I can show you a printed copy if you still doubt me.” Marinette's voice was calm as she spoke. “Why would we want you here?” Alya spat. “She's allowed to go where ever she likes Alya, she's an adult.” Marinette turned to the sound of the male voice that had spoken. “Adrian,” she said calmly, giving him a nod of greeting. He was about to say more but Marinette's phone suddenly went off. She frowned then answered it appearing confused. She kept her conversation brief however in the time she was of the phone Lila had spun yet more lies about her. “It looks like somethings never change,” she said with a sigh. “What would a whore like you know?” Alya demanded. “Firstly, my wife isn't a whore. Secondly, as a major name in the fashion industry you'd think you would know better as any time she is seen out and about her name ends up plastered all over the papers.” Marinette leaned back into Ali's arms as he spoke, having felt him come to stand behind her earlier. “Ali,” she heard Rose gasp “But, Lila said...” “I do not know any Lila.” Ali interrupted sternly. “I don't know what she told you but I'd never even heard of her before you emailed me full of stories about her. Stories that a simple google search would and did disprove. It is due to those that I cut contact with you and blocked any further attempts you made to contact me.” Having said his bit, he looked down at Marinette who nodded. They ignored the shouting match that erupted behind them, opting to simply go back to their hotel room. Life would carry on either way and they knew they had a life with their growing family to look forward to.

SVT as Music Students
I’m in a B.Mus. (Bachelor of Music) mood and I need this to exist
Seungcheol: He plays the trumpet and he’s good at it. He likes jazz band more than he cares to admit, no one outside of jazz band knows that though. Everyone else assumes he’s most proud of his position in the orchestra. He’s in the performance program but he’s hell bent on becoming a conductor one day so he’s taking every course and opportunity he can to get in front of orchestras and bands. Unsurprisingly, he’s the president of the dsc (departmental student council) and is always around the music building.
Jeonghan: He plays violin and he’s so damn good at it. The first years are always drooling over him, especially the first year string players. He’s not only skilled, he’s beautiful, not to mention how beautiful he looks when he plays. He plays first violin but he doesn't really care all that much about positions. He wasn't initially planning on going into performance but he ended up there anyway. He’s ultimately he’s planning on going into education once he finishes his undergrad. He’s the student who’s always sleeping on the couches in the music building. He must go to class, right? Slept in a practice room once.
Joshua: He plays guitar and does so beautifully. He’s got a pretty relaxed personality about it and he enjoys it and none of his friends realize how good he actually is until they go to his recitals. He joined jazz band just because it’s fun, but he takes his guitar ensemble much more seriously. He honestly find musicology and popular musicology pretty cool but he plans on becoming a guitar teacher after his undergrad (though he might do a masters and teach in a university). He’s always hanging out in the lobby, he usually goofs around with his guitar until the receptionist in the office tells him to shut up.
Junhui: A very overworked french horn player. He’s in both wind ensemble and orchestra and the year he had to do his choral requirement almost killed him he was so busy. He loves playing though so at least there’s that. He knows he’s not the absolute best french horn player but he knows his strengths and weaknesses. He’s hoping he has the skills to get into a masters for performance since he’s kinda set on the idea of being in an orchestra professionally now. He’s really nice to everyone and take any new french horn players under his wing right away. People know him but he’s usually only around right near class time.
Soonyoung: Oh dear lord who put him in the percussion section, he’s already loud enough. He’s very good and very versatile. He loves to goof around so he fits right in back there but don’t get it twisted, he’s in charge of the percussion sections for wind ensemble, jazz band, and orchestra. He kinda has no idea what he wants to do next. Sort of panics in third and fourth year (and ends up taking a fifth year) because he doesn’t know what he wants to do, he thinks everything is cool and he can’t decide. He is on the dsc ever year as the year rep and he loves it, and people love him. He might live in the music building because no one ever sees him go home.
Wonwoo: He plays piano and organ, though he doesn’t get the chance to play organ very often. He spent a lot of time in the practice rooms in first year but not as much anymore, now he’s in the library for the most part. He’s spent a lot of time playing in small ensembles but he really loves choir a lot. He’s having a bit of a crisis. At first, his plan was to go to law school after his undergrad, but then he fell in love with theory and music history so he’s not so sure anymore. He’s pretty quiet so he doesn’t spend as much time in the music building but everyone in piano studio knows him well.
Jihoon: He plays clarinet officially but makes money as an accompanist so a lot of first years assume he’s a pianist. His true instrument is the orchestra, though. He does wind ensemble and he doesn’t care too much about being concertmaster, he would rather be composing. He knows that’s what he wants to do and he’s a portfolio started since he was 15. His sights are set pretty high but he knows he’s good at it. He mostly sticks with his group of friends and spends a lot of time at home so not too many people know him.
Seokmin: The boy is the best vocalist in the music school, hands down. He’s fantastic and every other vocalist is either jealous of him or has a crush on him. He does opera ensemble officially but any time he can he does musically theater on campus. All of his electives are taken up by drama courses. Officially, he’s planning on being a teacher. But mostly he’s just too nervous to tell anyone that he wants to be a famous singer. He doesn’t think he’s good enough and he’s sure people will make fun of him. He is so bright and cheery and is year rep for his year on the dsc. Everyone knows him and he’s always at the music building.
Mingyu: Everyone’s favourite trumpet player. He’s so loud and bright and fun to be around. A clumsy dork of a man but still a pretty good player. He loves jazz band and only does wind ensemble because they needed more brass players. He’s pretty set on education. He likes playing and he likes conducting and he loves kids so he knows that he wants to be in a classroom. Probably in a concurrent education program since that’s what he wanted to do when he was in high school. Everyone knows him. The dsc rep for concurrent ed. Basically lives in the music room lobby (though you have to wonder if he ever goes to class since he always on the couches).
Minghao: He’s been playing piano since he was four but surprisingly enough, he’s there for the flute. He’s good enough to hold his own against the other players but he doesn’t get wrapped up in the drama. He’s first flute in wind ensemble and plays piccolo in orchestra and the other know he’s a force to be reckoned with. His parents always expected him to go into performance but now he’s fallen in love with ethnomusicology and he doesn’t know how to tell them that he wants to pursue that as a masters degree. He’s nice but pretty quiet and mostly just hangs out with his friends. He splits a lot of time between the practice rooms and the library.
Seungkwan: A fantastic vocalist. He’s one of the younger students but he already has so much attention on his voice. In choral ensemble and opera ensemble and he still makes time for a musical theater show each semester. Everyone already knows about his broadway dreams and they think he might just get there. That’s all he’s focusing on. He knows what he wants and doesn’t want to settle for something else. The year rep for his year on the dsc. Only goes to class because Hansol and Chan drag him there, otherwise he would spend all his time hanging out in the lobby.
Hansol: Officially, he plays the saxophone, mostly alto and tenor. But he also plays some flute and clarinet. He’s a doubler (or tripler in this case). Does jazz band and loves it but he also gets into the pit bands for most of the music theater shows that happen around campus. He loves being in the pit and he would love to do gigs like that long term but he’s not sure what the prospect for that is. He also loves music history and has a knack for theory and he’s been dabbling in composing jazz music, though he’s too nervous to show anyone. He loves hanging out in the music building, even if he had his headphones on half the time.
Chan: A percussionist and Soonyoung’s little protege. He’s very very good and he splits his time between orchestra and wind ensemble. He’s not too sure yet what area of music he wants to go into, though he’s been helping Soonyoung through his crisis. He likes playing percussion, and he’s pretty decent at theory so maybe he’ll do something with that? He’s not too fussed about it at the moment. The boy is very active around school, he’ll probably be on the dsc eventually but his goal at the moment is to be an orientation leader during frosh week the next year.

Okokokay, I’m awake, lemme explain this particular post because uh. It was like 2 AM when I posted it and I was hardly awake to explain it properly. I might write about the event itself in the future, but I have a LOT of projects going on rn so I need to uh. NOT SUBJECT MYSELF TO TEMPTATION. Lmao. ANYWAY. If you want the full explanation behind this post- it’ll be under the RM for the sake of not angering all of my followers :’)
TW: Internalized Manipulation, Internalized High-Expectative behavior, Suicide, also for uh. A generally Long ass fucking post.
Basically...Ren has a secret. One they had completely forgotten about until their memory was retrieved post TTH- or rather...a few weeks following the memory retrieval. One secret that...as far as they know- they’re taking with them to their own fucking grave, rather than tell anyone what happened.
Sure, they had a crush on Makoto. Sure, they were always too afraid to tell him how they felt- both out of fear of rejection, but for another...much more guilty reason.
See, when they ran away from home- ran away from their family...it was because they were controlling, yet neglectful. The family they “loved” never really gave them the emotional support they needed at a time when they were suffering- and in some people’s cases, only added onto it. They ran away because they were tired of being bound by their family’s stubborn expectations, and were tired of feeling like they weren’t good enough to do what everyone else was doing.
The problem was... They never truly resolved that trauma by running away. They had NO idea at the time how to do what they needed to give themselves that emotional support that they needed desperately growing up. Which of course, resulted in them taking that same sort’ve controlling, high-expectative behavior...and turning it on themselves.
Joining as many clubs as they wanted, studying late at night, getting double shifts to pay the rent of their apartment...They did everything they could to stay on top. It was a habit they didn’t know they were doing to themselves- they just saw it as being hardworking to maintain the idea that they were doing alright on their own. And of course, she- Junko- was no help to this. Manipulating them to work even harder- and that if they fall from the throne they were building for themselves, that they’ll be left alone. After all- for the first time in years, as a result...they were relatively popular. But not because of economical status, or because of beauty- or anything relatively of the sort. Because of their intelect. Their talents. Their ultimate...they were appreciated for something they could DO for others. And it was that, that gave them what they thought was the emotional support they craved since growing up- and they would be damned to let go of that now.
Ontop of this, they never really told anyone about being transmasc. They never told anyone they were AFAB. Everyone just assumed they were AMAB and nonbinary- which they agreed was fine with them.
They were elected student council president, due to their uncanny ultimate to figure out that something was wrong with their class- and have the compassion to sit down and talk with others about it. When a student was struggling in a class, they’d either personally tutor the student or have someone they know who excels in that class tutor them. They were advocating for the luck students classes to be more personalized and catered to their talent, much like how all the other students had their classes personalized and catered to theirs. They did everything in their power to make a difference, to make an impression that they knew would never leave the class- unknowing that them just...being themselves, would’ve been more than enough.
However...it was all too much for them. It was draining, it was exhausting, it was driving them crazy. They hardly got any sleep, they hardly had time to take care of themselves due to their various after-school activities and jobs they maintained. It was at this point they realized something was horribly, horribly wrong with the way they were living, but...that seed of internal expectations had burrowed itself too deep. Basically threatening themselves that if they couldn’t manage this- what they perceived to be a “normal” school life, albeit with some disadvantages- then they were just...weak. They HAD to keep themselves busy, because that’s how they make a difference in this world!
For being an empath...they’re terrible at taking care of themselves.
Despite themselves, they felt that sinking emptiness that they felt back home starting to return to their heart. So what do they do? Pour themselves further into their classes, their work, their social life- what little of it they maintained after class- their clubs, their student-council presidency.
Even then, that wasn’t enough. They tried on their life. They broke under that pressure, and they have the scars to prove that. It was the first time anyone in their class knew that something much deeper resided within their class president.
...Yet, at the time, Makoto was the only one who yelled at them for it- both out of his own naivety and his own sense of guilt.
Skip to a few months in the future- a good 2 weeks before Junko’s perceived plan would go into full effect, and a few days before the supposed fuzzy memory they’ve had in the past came into fruition.
Makoto and Ren had been getting closer, yes. Ren wanting to learn and, as a result, be better to themselves- so they could in turn be better for their class. Makoto just wanting to help, seeing as he looked up to them.
Still, they didn’t hang out that often- both due to their own class schedules being all over the place, and Ren never having much time out of school. Sure, Kyoko would be helping pay their rent- which let them have the option to quit one of their jobs...but they still had to afford food each month, so they still kept one job- both for the experience and because they felt they had to. They didn’t want to ask the school for more help than they “needed” to.
So, when Makoto was hosting a small sleepover with several of the boys from his class- including them- they were a bit excited. Due to their business, they never really had the time to really...hang out with other people. Develop an actual social life. They never had the chance to hang out with friends outside of class, and never had the chance to do normal teen things- like sleepovers and school drama and shit.
Naturally, of course they went.
They had...such a fun time that night. Goofing off with the boys- even some of the more reclusive and uptight boys would eventually loosen up around Makoto. Of course- it wasn’t like usual more “Feminine” sleepovers- the boys would mostly be playing a lot of video games, eat snacks, what-have you. Makoto would try to get them to watch anime, only to be teased for it. Ren had to break up that little spat before it got out of hand- wanting just as much to protect Makoto.
Soon enough, everyone was falling asleep. Most of the others didn’t want to sleep in Makoto’s room themselves- saying that was too “gay” for them-- Only to get ribbed at by Ren as a result, despite what they tell themselves about being a straight enby (a contradictory statement in and of itself). So, Ren, wanting to prove a point to them, decided they’d stay with Makoto. Unaware of how flustered they were at the thought, Makoto headed back to his room with them in tow- ignoring how the boys were calling out various...unsavory one-liners. (Much to his dismay, seeing as Makoto would eventually have to drag Ren by the arm- lest they start an actual fight in his house, his parent’s would fucking END him, Ren stop it--)
At the very least, it was calmer. The two sat, talked for hours, goofing off and watching anime until close to 1 AM. By then, they’re still watching anime through his laptop- Makoto braiding their hair out of their eyes so its easier for them to see.
This entire night, they’ve just been feeling so...so flustered around him. So flustered, so confused. They just want to do something about the feeling, they want to understand what it is they’re feeling...this feeling that they’ve felt since they first met him- and has only intensified over time...has intensified over the course of the night.
So, they do something impulsive. They do something they didn’t think they KNEW they were doing until they did so. They kiss him- genuinely and caringly. Its then they did realize how they felt- someone not so straight, not so ‘perfect’...and for that brief moment it was okay. For that brief moment, being perceived as who they actually are...was okay.
And then that moment was broken, hearing a knock on their window- one of the boys had gone to investigate what was going on, and was peering through the window.
And that sudden panic, that fear of losing what they have- of losing the respect of their class...it held its grip on their heart. They start freaking out, mumbling to themselves about how they were going to be made fun of. Makoto tries to calm them down, tell them its okay- that it’s fine- trying to insinuate that he kinda felt the same way.
But, they leave. They flee with one last final word to him;
“...You don’t even know.”
A message to themselves- about what they know about love- and to him...that he doesn’t know what would happen if they loose that social status.
...The following day, they pour their heart out to Junko. They explain everything that happened- and they’re told of the device that can wipe memories. That can, essentially, erase the past. Of course they’re reluctant- their good morals and goody-two-shoes nature makes them hesitant. But, when she reminds them of what would happen once rumors starts to spread... They agree its for the best. That no one else should remember what happened that night. But to ONLY erase that night.
...Little did they know, that a few weeks down the line, there would be so, so much more erased than a single night.
So, by Monday, everyone has seemingly forgotten the whole event. They swore to themselves that day to never tell anyone- especially him- about what happened...both because of the event itself...but because of if he found out what they did following it- they didn’t know if he’d ever forgive them.
Losing their social status...losing that emotional support from their class...at the time; nothing else was worth it. Nothing else; even love.
After all, they’re expected to be little mx. perfect.
When their memories are finally retrieved... Or rather- the weeks following it, as an after-effect- they remember the whole event. That guilt they carried with them about what Junko did to them only multiplies when they remember their other massive, massive mistake. Sure, things turned out well in the end- they’re with Makoto, everything is getting better... He’s shown that even through their past- he’d be there for them...but even so, they can’t tell him.
It’s a secret they’re taking with them to their grave. And with any hope, that’s exactly how they hope it’ll stay.
...And they forget, that just as well for everyone else, the procedure had brought back all their school memories, as well.
Makoto won’t...say anything on the matter- knowing how their anxious self might react. If they want to tell him, they will. But if not...it’s a secret for their past self to keep, forever.
...It definitely does explain some of their behaviors though, now that he does think about it.
#[ Ren Rambles ]#[ Emotionally Hopeful ]#I spent the last hour I've been awake writing this sdjkfhskd#I might write this into an actual fully-developed story later. But have this explanation for now.#For now; have a lot of angst :'D#They had a decent school life at Hopes Peak I swear#Just. A lot of Junko meddling. ~^~;#long post//#suicide tw//#suicide ment//#manipulation tw//#high expectations tw//#The TLDR of this is; Their own goddamn extremely high expectations for themselves was their downfall. It slowly deteriorated their life#And slowly crumbled the perceived version of themselves.

The Soldier and the Empress 1
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Just a couple of things before you start reading this fanfic.
I won't be using subtitles for the vast majority of it, only when not everyone can 'hear' these characters is when i'll use them (Like Senketsu).
This fic assumes you’ve already watched Kill La Kill as it contains spoiler and skips a lot of story for different purposes.
This fic is (most of the time) written in first person perspective to add to the immersion.
This is a Satsuki X Reader/Insert Fic, I just think that leaving the name blank takes away from the immersion. Also the 'good shit' will come in tiny bits here and there as well as some big ones so be patient.
The story will curve away from the anime later down the line, specially after the biggest event on the anime happens.
I appreciate feedback and grammar corrections greatly, as long as you ain't an asshole about it it'll be Okay. (I do spelling mistakes on purpose when I'm the one 'talking')
Originally uploaded to wattpad exact same way under the limitations on this site.
With all that said, please enjoy and tell me what you like and what you don't of it. Thanks for reading.

Lizard Among Pigs
Satsuki Kiryuin
That's the name of the woman who stole my place as the student council president at my high school.
Back then i didn't rule the school out of greed or desire for power, but out of fear, i wanted everyone to stay away from me. So i recruited followers and with them i made my dream school and it looked like my second year would been just as peaceful, that's when she showed up.
Long black hair, blue eyes and a stare that could kill. She completely destroyed the defences i built over the last year. Not even an hour past her arrival, many of my followers had left me for good and the ones who attacked her were already on the ground.
Satsuki Kiryuin
She shouted her name as demanded my presence. There was nothing else to do, i had to go out and face her myself.
Once i was alone in front of her, four other figures showed up, a pink haired girl, next to her a blue haired four eyes. To Satsuki's other side, a green haired punk with a bamboo sword and finally behind her a two and a half meters tall blonde buff man.
I had no chance against her, let alone any of her goons. However, I also had no reason to surrender. my weapon was a pair of claws made out of scrap that i slowly put on without taking my eyes off Satsuki. Either fear or something else kept me from looking away as to which one was, i got my answer soon after.
"Surrender!" The long haired woman in white uniform shouted at me, almost making me kneel from that alone. seeing that was not the case she seemed somewhat impressed.
I let out a groan, her shout did not beat me, but sure as shit left me tired.
"Impressive" She sounded way different now "You who ruled over this people with fear, you were right to do so, but you lacked something very important!" she went back to shouting, draining more and more energy out of me with every word.
"Hm, and here i thought this one was going to be some pushover… i need to reexamine the data" the blue four eyes spoke to no one in particular.
"Like a lizard under a hail..." the other girl with satsuki 'answered' to the glasses guy.
"Oh ho" the green haired punk said surprised while the big blonde man said nothing.
Satsuki Kiryuin
She took a step forward, a single step, then a blinding light appeared from behind her, i could not see it's origin.
"Come at me and if you survive, I will tell you what you lack!" She hit the ground with her sword and again more energy left my body.
I only had enough strength in me for one single attack, so i had to make it count.
With the last of my pride of the position i got for myself i managed to speak back at her.
"Then so be it!" thus i readied my weapon. I put all my strength on that attack, or so it seemed, it was a feint, when i got closer to her i would change direction, that's all i had to work with.
And she still stopped me effortlessly and calmly as when she first showed up. a strike from her sheathed sword to the stomach and with my Scrap Claws broken i fell to my knees in defeat. I barely manage to lift my head, i saw Satsuki at my left, three of the four goons she brought were far more relaxed than just a second ago, but the tall blonde one looked way more serious than anyone else.
Finally she spoke.
Satsuki Kiryuin
"Determination"
That was the last thing i heard before i fell to the floor barely conscious. With my defeat she was done here, so they were preparing to leave. And just as she gave a final speech to the ones who were still somewhat awake, a speech I could not hear. I saw her in the distance, that same blinding light i was now able to see perfectly through it. before i was almost lost to fatigue but now i was lost for words at her beauty, why was it so different now from the one that beat my ass just a moment ago?
She wasn't, the moment i laid my eyes on her i felt it, but i didn't realized it yet…
"I want to follow her." That's all that went through my mind after that, i had to act fast, i had to move. I managed to get some strength in my hands and rip some grass, as i slowly raised my head once again, i realized that they weren't that far from me as i originally saw, probably a trick of the fatigue.
I was now kneeling, and all five of the spectators were in complete silence, i didn't know why then, but now i know it was them acknowledging the strength i had to get up after one of Kiryuin's strikes. I remember the blonde man smiling if just a little, the glasses guy typing at a computer and the punk was definitely happy, the pink girl was looking at Satsuki, like waiting for her to say something.
Next step was to get up, i just knew it. So i tried and tried and tried until i lost count of how many times i tried but failed. i felt pathetic.
Then in the endless white noise i heard a voice, Satsuki's.
"GET! UP!"
Inexplicably i sprang up and got on my own two feet, stumbling a little, but i did not fall i was not going to fall ever again.
Somehow now I could clearly see the faces of the four, the big man was now all smiles, the four-eyes was typing even faster, the other two were still the same but the punk was looking at Satsuki this time. She was smiling, i was lost to her sight again but now i was breathing heavily trying to regain consciousness.
"Well Done Tadasuki! You have proven yourself! Join me at Honnouji Academy!"
That's when i pledged my undying loyalty to Lady Satsuki, The woman that stole my heart.
From there on out i expressed my love for her in form of loyalty, hoping once all this is over, once her little sister and father are avenged, once Ragyo is defeated maybe, just maybe i… no, i'll restrain myself from such thoughts for now.
"Tadasuki, sir, is everything in order?" Omiko Hakodate, two star leader of the tennis club asked me, her superior, to check if everything was in ok after i inspected it.
"Yes, there seems to be no problems with your equipment, Sanageyama should be here soon for the last adjustments… by the way, what happened to the new girl?"
She told me what happened to the new girl after one of her club members didn't showed to practice the day before.
"I see, she'll most likely show up again… ah! whatever, it's Sanageyama's problem now (and i still cannot follow what happening inside of her pretty head… i'll ask Nonon later… no that sound like a bad idea...)" with that i left the tennis court to examine other clubs and their equipment, such is my duty as vice-president... well that and follow her orders.
