5 simple solid oak dining table decoration and styling ideas
There wasn't much else in the dining room except tables and chairs. Sure, there might be a fun bar cart moment or cutlery display case, but we can probably all agree that the table is the star. Even if the solid oak dining table isn't the only surface area for your decorative items, it's probably the main gathering area and the first thing people notice when they walk into the room. Therefore, it is vital to decorate it carefully! Just like designing your coffee table, your dining table deserves extra attention. Next, find a dozen ideas and tricks, and then recreate your favorites. Garden statue Stonebird statues enliven this large solid oak dining table in a farmhouse designed by Hadas Dembo at Mise en Scene Design. Vintage French chandeliers (hanging where there used to be haysheds) create sophisticated tones, while durable furniture adds a sensibility. The tabletop itself is a marble shard from an old chocolate factory in Vermont. A jar full of freshly cut flowers is perfect for a formal and legendary cozy farmhouse restaurant. Statue of metal In the space designed by Shawn Henderson, a large rose-gold egg statue draws attention to the vintage Hans Wagner solid oak dining table. Picking up bronze candlesticks, pendants, and candlesticks, Henderson proves that mixing metal and wood (dark mahogany cabinets, decaying overhead beams, whitewashed oak floors, and mahogany screens) is a powerful way to deepen the soul of a room while sticking to simple tones. follicular A series of vases makes this classic solid oak dining table in Alexandra Kaehler's home feel fresh and vibrant. We like that the arrangement of flowers is all coordinated, and the height and shape of the vases are varied, both cohesive and varied. subminiature A figurine in a glass case is the unexpected centerpiece of this restaurant designed by Juan Carretero. This circa 1790 restaurant in the Catskill area of New York made us swoon. The ceiling is painted with a high gloss blush, which brings candlelight to the room and really enhances the gorgeous Art Deco carpet. The curvy, modern dining chair contrasts sharply with the gold-framed portrait. Declaration tablecloth "The Ball family wanted a home that was elegant but also functional and fun," designer Augusta Hoffman said in explaining the project. "They are always fun and ask for a comfortable space to host large parties. The solid oak dining table can accommodate 25 people." With or without guests, interesting tablecloths add vibrancy to the entire space and warm up the hard surface.

5698 Holly Oak, Hollywood Hills
This is one of those new-style renovations that blends the 70s with Cabo modern. I have a feeling Cabo modern is the feel that's dethroned Modern farmhouse, swapping shiplap for plaster, whitewash with open-pore woods, quartz for veined marble, and subway tile with the craziest tile you can muster.
Second home I've seen like this, with an almost Nordic commitment to a wood exterior. Also note the iron railings that typically accompany this look.
Temple-like use of natural light in here.
This isn't your grandma's powder room, the wood in here is REAL.
Wood counters are a ballsy choice.
Your skyline views.
The one downside of this multilevel balcony though is it gives almost a motel balcony feel.
The kitchen is open, but it isn't. Note the open shelves to another more kitcheny-part of the kitchen.
Here's a detail shot of that stove that I know you're all dying for.
Integrated cabinet paneling for the controls is hot right now.
Your oven and prep area are through those open shelves to another part of the kitchen, almost becoming a butler's kitchen.
That cabinet to the far left? Fridge.
See what I meant about wacky tile? Very instagrammable.
First time since the 90s I've seen long tile fireplace mantles. Grew up with one and now they're back!
Very, very artsy living space.
The built-in mirrored bar that's a step-down from the dining area is an extremely cool touch.
*wendy williams voice* - "what was that..."
Once you see the geodesic dome, you can't unsee it.
You have a view of this down the staircase - a perfect little pocket sink.
Good to see sinks becoming art pieces.
This is your master bedroom. I kind of hate the minimal lighting, but it's decently sized.
Something new - these large wood cabinets (with a nice feel to them) on each side of the bed act as your closets.
More fun tile for the bathroom.
The stacked windows from the bath are very postmodern.
Another interesting sink. This one floats.
Your guest room is among the hillside forest.
And another guest room. Very meditative.
This shower is opposite that stunning pocket sink. Roman tubs are also making a comeback, as are these plaster walls. Rustic!
This is the most useless corner I've ever seen in a house, and I'm kind of obsessed with it. Like a gallery installation.
If you want to skip the upstairs bullshit, you can just hike on up to street level from the bedroom level.
And across the hall is the most * v i b e y * office you can ever imagine.
Absolutely zero work gets done here.
Down another set of stairs is a family room area, with another built in bar (and a hidden microwave).
Also another bedroom with wacky tile on this floor because why not.
This time though they put in a giant fake tree to distract you from the unfinished closet.
One of the absolute coolest bathrooms I've ever seen.
Cork walls!
Heading outside and I tripped (for the 3rd time) in this house from rushed details like this rough door jam. It doesn't need to be THAT rustic.
Soaking tub with outdoor shower looks like a lot of fun.
There's something brutalist about this new kind of architecture in its use of wood. I feel you'll be seeing a lot more of it soon.

NINETEEN
He started up the car after his crying spell quit, put in the address of his apartment in the city and moved on. His spirit lifted as he got onto the highway and listened to something beside country; however he had learned to love country with Allen. He moved his tongue across his lips, a nervous habit of his and he tasted residue of the lemon meringue pie. He’d miss Miss Myrtle at the Crapaud Diner; there was so much to like about the Cajun Prairie.
He arrived home in record time. Lifting his suitcase from his truck he realized he was home; it was real, the lights of the city were not the dark nights of the Cajun prairie. Turning the key walking into his apartment felt eerily modern and antiseptic. Living in the city meant he was out a lot; staying home was not something he had practiced, and it felt strange. He missed the earthiness of the country and the textures of real materials used in homes versus stainless steel and granite.
Cal decided to head out for a drink at a local brew pub; it had always been a favorite place of his. It was crazy wild, music playing and lots of chatting going on with friends. He decided to get a place at the bar; sitting next to a nice looking guy.
“Hmmm, you never know if he’s gay, but might be fun to chat him up catching up on what’s happened in the city while I was in the country,” thought Cal.
Cal and the guy had a beer together and made small talk. The guy was nice and married, definitely not gay. He was having a beer before a business dinner. That’s translates as supper on Allen’s Cajun prairie.
Everywhere he went he thought of Allen. It was love, no denying the relationship had begun with a slow start as friends and then love had begun to develop and now it was stuck. Trying to tell himself he didn’t love the Cajun boy, but the city boy really cared for the Cajun boy.
After the guy moved on to his dinner business meeting, Cal thought, I”m miserable; I should head home and be miserable alone; it’s what I’m feeling here, very much alone. I miss my Cal, my Cajun guy.”
He opened his door and and headed to the liquor cabinet. He poured himself a glass of red wine. He’d missed his red wine, something Allen wouldn’t touch. He didn’t miss it when he was with Allen. But tonight he was feeling moody and an expensive glass of French wine was just the mood he was in. Classy, dry and warming. In a bit he would feel a buzz to take the sting off of missing Allen. Maybe he would dream of Allen tonight; that would be better than nothing. At least he’d see Allen through a dream.
That night he dreamed a beautiful dream of Allen and him swimming nakedly in the bayou behind Allen’s house. Allen had swum to him and hugged him sealed with a kiss. And Cal supported Allen in his arms while they soaked in the cool waters under the shade of an oak tree.
Afterwards the boys dried off, dressed and headed home through the fields. After a whiskey on the porch they retired to the coziness of Allen’s simply whitewashed
bedroom. They slept in each other’s arms spooning the night through.
The next morning Cal awoke with a slight headache. Wine did that to him sometimes. He awoke with a smile on his face; he’d dreamed of Allen, and it was real. And they spent the night in his favorite place, Allen’s simple bedroom with a background palette that was perfect for anything placed before it. It was meant for Allen and him, and he wouldn’t change a thing.
How he missed his Allen and wished he hadn’t fucked up, but his dishonesty had been the villain that only he could take responsibility for.

Creative Kitchen Flooring Ideas 2023
The kitchen is the heart of our homes and is a space that requires attention to detail. The flooring in this space is particularly important to consider.
Keeping in mind that the kitchen is a busy space, you should choose a material that will be durable and easy to clean. We have put together some creative and unique kitchen flooring ideas for 2023 that will add personality and style to your kitchen space!
Tile
Tile has long been a popular choice for floors in kitchens and bathrooms, but this type of flooring is also being used in other communal spaces like hallways and stairways. It’s a durable, easy-to-clean and water-resistant material that offers a wide variety of styles and patterns to choose from.
Light-coloured floor tiles are a great way to brighten up any kitchen space. Whitewashed neutrals, light greys and honey tones are all on trend for 2023, while darker shades of blues and browns will look striking when paired with wood-toned cabinets.
Another flooring trend to keep an eye out for in 2023 is herringbone and chevron formats! These alternative laying patterns add a creative and unique twist to your kitchen floor, allowing you to create stunning designs that stand out from the rest.
Marble tile is an amazing choice for any kitchen, whether you opt for a classic large-format Bianco Carrara or friendly blue kitchen tiles. You can also try a bold black and white marble hex floor to give your kitchen some serious style.
Slate
Slate is a rock that is often found in areas where it has been formed from shale, clay, or volcanic ash. This material is a metamorphic rock that can take on different colors depending on where it is mined.
It can also be used as a tile flooring option because it is durable and resistant to cracks, chips, and scratches. This natural designer material can add personality and style to your kitchen space.
Traditionally, slate is gray in color, but it can be found in other shades of blue, green, and brown. This color is primarily determined by the amount of iron present in the rock.
Slate is a low-grade metamorphic rock that is usually formed in sedimentary basins. These basins are where the ground and soil lose moisture over time. During this time, the surface of the earth changes as a result of subsidence, which creates space for sediments to form.
Wood
Wood flooring is a timeless choice for a kitchen space, and it can also add personality and style. There are many contrasting colors, tones and finishes available, so it’s easy to find a design that fits your personal style.
If you’re looking for a classic hardwood look, consider opting for solid oak or walnut floors with warm brown stains that complement traditional and modern decor. Alternatively, try a softer parquet pattern for an elegant floor that’s versatile enough to adapt with changing interior styles.
Another popular trend for 2023 is a herringbone layout that adds texture and detail to your floors. It’s also a great way to showcase wood’s natural beauty, says Colin Roby-Welford of Fired Earth.
Tiled floors are also a great way to separate areas in a kitchen. They allow you to highlight the dining area with a dark shade, and the work area with light coatings.
Vinyl
Vinyl flooring is a great option for kitchens because it is practical, affordable and hard-wearing. It is also incredibly easy to clean and maintain.
It’s also easy to install. Vinyl comes in many different designs and colors, which makes it a great choice for homeowners who want to add style and personality to their kitchen space.
If you’re looking to create a rustic or country kitchen, you can choose a wood-look plank that mimics oak, pine or hickory. These planks have realistic textures and color tones, making them the perfect choice for any design scheme.
You can even opt for a vinyl plank that features a painted bevel, which provides more definition and realism. You can also get luxury vinyl tiles that look like stone or wood, which are ideal if you love the style but don’t want to worry about the maintenance.
Tile trends come and go – but porcelain and stone tiling are designed to stand the test of time. That’s why vinyl is a smart choice for homeowners who like a trendy look but don’t want it to look dated quickly.

Can you DIY a Kitchen Renovation
If you’re planning a kitchen renovation, you may wonder if you can do it yourself. Yes, it is possible. But there are some important things to keep in your mind.
First, a kitchen remodel can be a huge undertaking so ensure you have the necessary time and energy. It is also important to know basic plumbing and carpentry before you begin. You will also need to determine what parts of the kitchen you wish to modify, including adding storage space, replacing outdated appliances, and improving lighting.
After planning your kitchen renovation, you can start shopping for the materials. You will need to decide on cabinets and countertops, flooring, as well as appliances.
A good idea is to think about the layout of your kitchen before you go shopping. This will allow you to determine how much space is needed and which layout would be most effective in your kitchen.
There are many choices when it comes to cabinets. There are two choices when it comes to cabinets. You can either choose ready-toassemble (RTA), custom cabinets, or both. RTA cabinets come in various styles and colours and are usually less expensive than custom cabinets.
It is essential that you ensure safety and security during large-scale renovations. You might also want to verify the local building codes before you start any major renovations.
Although you might be tempted to do a major renovation yourself, it is best to hire professionals. It is possible to save both time as well as money by hiring qualified contractors. A professional can help you ensure that your project runs smoothly.
Are Kitchen Remodeling Costs Worth it?
Remodelling your kitchen can be a great way to improve the look and feel of your home, but it can also be costly. If you’re thinking about remodelling your kitchen, you might wonder if the costs are worth it.
There are several factors to consider when determining whether or not remodelling your kitchen is a good investment. The first is the value of your home. You will need to make sure that the remodel costs are covered in your sale price if you intend on selling your house soon.
Another factor to consider is the cost of the remodel itself. Kitchen remodels that are high-end can run into the thousands, so be sure to have the funds to pay for them. Costs may not be as important if you aren’t planning to sell your home.
Consider how much you will be using your new kitchen. It is important to consider how often you will be using your kitchen, especially if you are a frequent host or cook large meals. A smaller, less costly remodel might be possible if your kitchen is not used often.
These are some helpful tips to get you started if your not sure where to begin.
Decide whether to replace or build new cabinets. The cost of a kitchen remodel can increase significantly if new cabinets are added. If you decide to replace all of the cabinets, you will need to take them out before installing new ones.
Be careful when choosing your colors. Colour choices can affect the overall appearance of your kitchen, so choose wisely.
Decide if you are going to upgrade the flooring. The flooring may not be needed if you plan on selling your house within the next few months. A freshly painted concrete slab may give off a fresh, modern feel.
You might consider adding storage space. Adding cabinets, drawers, or shelves can increase your kitchen’s usable space.
Lighting is important. You can brighten the dark corners of your kitchen by installing recessed lights above the sink, stove, or refrigerator.
Add Appliances. You can save energy by replacing your fridge with a more efficient model. This can increase the resale price of your house.
Make sure you include enough electrical outlets. Most kitchens only come equipped with one or two outlets. This means that you won’t have an outlet to plug in your blender, mixer, or any other appliances.
Don’t forget the water lines. Water pipes are hidden behind walls and floors. Before you begin any work, check for leaks.
Clear out clutter. Your kitchen is already crowded, but try to keep things organized. Clear away anything that isn’t essential.
Get estimates from several contractors. Comparing prices is a good way to get multiple quotes.
Check out financing options. Many people choose to finance their kitchen remodels. This way, you avoid paying interest while making payments.
Get a rough idea of the length of time you intend to stay in your house. The longer you stay there, the more you should invest in your kitchen.
Keep track of everything. You can keep track of every detail by using a notebook.
Plan ahead. You should take time to visualize what you want in your kitchen. This will help you visualize the whole project.
Can a stove-refrigerator be side by side?
They can be side-by side if there’s enough space for both appliances. It is not recommended in kitchen design. This can result in wasted space and cramped spaces. It is better to have the refrigerator and stove in separate areas of the kitchen. This will allow for more efficient workflow and make the kitchen feel larger.

If you care to read my version of these events
It is going to break me. I close the door to our improbably large closet. Part of my mind tries to go off on an tangent, berating Alice for her incongruous request, but it can't, my immortal brainpower is already all taken up. In the master bedroom, Bella's quiet breathing persists. I know her well enough, after so much time together, that I have to rally myself to keep from calculating out how many of these untroubled breaths she has.
Every surface in the house is immaculate. Even the last traces of human touch, from the people who sawed the lumber, packaged the paintings, delivered the whitewash to the hardware store, all these people who did not know their labour would serve vampires, in the end. Even the slightest whiff of any scent, never mind human scent can be overwhelming. The house Carlisle had carried me to, in my delirium, had smelt overwhelmingly. There simply hadn't been enough chemicals around to replace the smell of that much death.
Here, though, I could control the number of scents that would assault Bella's already overwhelmed senses when she woke. I will not be able to bring myself to leave her side once it has started, so it must be done now, in this last moment of deep sleep before I will hear her last sleep-spoken words. She once asked me if that was why I would not want her to remain human, to keep the tiny window I have into her mind, absent the panorama to which I an accustomed. It's an awful thought, a repugnant one, but it is hard to tell sometimes if I am lying to myself when I say that is no part of my motivation. It is not the greater part of my motivation, of course, of that much I am sure. Nonetheless, though the selfish part of me does crave how safe she will be, from her own clumsiness, my fallibility, it may also resent the loss of that one source of unquestionable truth. I've noticed Jasper pays less attention to people's facial expressions, now that he does not need them to tell a person's mood.
She called me, "Edward!"
It was a quiet gasp, and I heard her roll over, felt the subtle shift in the weight of the house. I was out of time.
She spoke little, that final night. My name, as she so often had. The "I love you," that was just as mystifying as the first time I had heard it. She was also reaching for the tiny, crescent-shaped scar on her left hand, as she had done unconsciously so many times since our return from Isle Esme. Her last dormant words were "Edward, please..!" A mumble, trailing off into slumber impossible to tell the emotion behind. Impossible to tell what she was begging me for, what the emotion was behind her words. Jasper was gone with the others, hunting until I had finished this. It was even more shameful, to do this out of sight, like the crime it was, but Bella deserved the privacy. Carlisle was staying this one last night at the house, to make sure nothing went wrong, and Jasper and Alice would be returning on the third day, to help Bella recover.
She had wanted to stay. To support me, she said. Her thoughts were clouded with one of her self-distraction tricks, but for a moment I saw a flash of myself. How my face would look over the next three days. It looked right, deserved. I told her to enjoy the hunt.
Bella woke quickly, her eyes snapping open suddenly after only a few restless snuggles down into the comforter. She smiled broadly at me, but when my answering smile betrayed more of my stress than I had hoped the trepidation in her eyes began to drain into the rest of her face.
"You don't have to do this." I begged, knowing it would make no difference. As Rosalie had guessed, I could not refuse Bella.
She shook her head slowly. "Last breakfast time" she said.
"Of course"
I ran to the kitchen Esme had designed for us. Sunshine yellow walls, oak wood cabinets, and several plants the care of which Bella insisted was mine alone, made the small space feel cozy, but still small. I pulled the fridge open, it's doors paneled to match the wood of the rest of the kitchen. The stove was a combination range, the same kind of which my mother had been so proud to own. It was perhaps fitting, that it would be useful as a fireplace, once today's meals had been cooked and the gas line disconnected to reduce the fire risk.
I had asked Bella to pick out her meals, given her free reign to be as extravagant as she wished. She'd asked for eggs for breakfast. Cheese omelet, not even seasoned with more than salt and pepper. I imagined the choice was based on her honeymoon meals. She was comemmorating her human life with a memory that was not even human. My head bowed over the sizzling butter, and Bella moved to the closet to grab the outfit she and Alice had negotiated. It was much less grandiose than Alice would have liked, much less subtle than Bella had initially planned, and painfully, gorgeously blue. I had set it out the previous night so that Bella would not be forced to navigate the closet beyond the single rack of clothing she had brought from Charlie's house.
I had a few more minutes to compose myself, as Bella got changed and freshened up, and the eggs slowly puffed up around the melting cheese. I moved slowly now, so that I would not appear to be waiting impatiently for her. As she walked out of the bathroom, her omelet was sliding onto her plate, as close an approximation as I could manage to the facial expression she called her "favourite crooked smile" on my face.
It must have worked, as what little nervousness I had seen on her face as she woke was gone, even as I searched. She walked up, the wide-legged satin pants swishing gently, her favourite fuzzy socks on her feet despite the relatively warm weather. The lighter blue of the flowing top was a perfect complement to the sapphire of the bottoms, to the chocolate brown of her eyes.
I did not want to blink, today. "You look perfect."
The ache was in my voice. The blood was in her cheeks, again, one of the last times. "You'll miss it?"
"Of course." I murmured, then spoke louder, "You will always be beautiful."
The day moved on. We went for a picnic in the meadow, Bella tracing patterns in the light that reflected and refracted off my skin. She had already said goodbye, such as it was, to her family. She did not want them to believe she was dead, only run off with me. She wouldn't be visiting home much, she'd told them. She would still write. It was a cruel thing, but I kept the melancholy out of my tone. I would have three days for guilt.
As twilight fell, we were in our room. I'd called it the easiest time, perhaps that is why Bella had chosen it. Bella did not like needles, so I had swallowed enough morphine as she'd had her last human shower. I would be able to inject it along with the venom, when it was time. Bella didn't really care for needles, somehow the idea of my teeth was more appealing.
We lay, the blanket between us for only a few minutes of quiet conversation. "I'm ready," she insisted.
"I do not know if I am"
"Mind over matter," she chided me. "Be ready"
I looked into her eyes, the perfect brown for the last time, and kissed her. Then I opened my mouth and let my teeth graze her tongue. She made a noise, quiet, caught, suppressed, but I knew it was time. The pain would be overwhelming anyway, but the more venom I got into her the less time she would have to endure it, even if the morphine did work. I had already brought it back up, to let it flow into her in advance of my venom.
With each brush of my lips over her beating blood vessels, she gasped. I bit down, let the morphine flow. The taste of her blood was just as overpowering as the first time I had tasted it. I let it wash over my mind until I judged enough venom had been washed into her bloodstream. I kissed the wound shut. Then I repeated the arduous process again. Again. Again. I glanced at her face as I moved from one artery to the next. Her teeth were clenched, her face in a contorted smoothness that betrayed great pain. Pain she was trying to hide.
"Don't make this harder for yourself" I chided softly, but then my lips were once again on her skin, I could understand nothing but the promise of the taste that still beat behind that fragile barrier.
When I resurfaced from the torrent, still no sound escaped her lips, though her mouth was open. There was panic in her eyes. I had injected enough venom at this point that the advance guard of morphine was clearly not enough.
"I am so sorry," I told her again. "It's ok to scream"
The phrase brought back a memory, Rosalie reflecting on a conversation she had had with Bella, before. When there was still hope in my mind that Bella might escape me. She had told Bella it did no help to scream. I had told her that Carlisle hadn't. She was going to try to spare me. It was ridiculous, how giving, how passionate she was. She deserved better than this.
I would be as close to that better man she deserved as I could. I took her body, oddly more relaxed, and cradled it to my chest to sing. She had prepared a playlist, songs she thought sounded better in my voice. She hasn't been around long enough to have a great depth to her taste in music, but she somehow found seventy-two hours worth of music she thought sounded better when I sang it. The compliment boggled my mind.
As I sang, she did not move. I began to vacillate between hope that it meant the morphine was working, that she was able to sleep through the horror, and worry, that I had done something wrong, that the transformation would instead kill her. I ran, "Mad World", the original Tears for Fears version, still on my lips. As I approached the house, Bella in my arms, I murmured in between lines, just loud enough Carlisle would hear. "Something's wrong"
He assured me nothing was. Her heart beat loudly, not even frantically. Even though I could no longer smell even a trace of morphine, he assured me it was the only explanation. Mollified, if still worried, I returned to the cottage, to sing her into her immortal life.
Without Alice I had less advance warning of when Bella would wake. I had some, first, because of the shift in her heartbeat, picking up the pace as the final traces of human blood sank into her tissues. Her scent was still the best I had ever experienced, but the burning in my throat I had grown accustomed to ignoring over the past years was steadily subsiding. The second reason I knew she would be waking soon was because I heard the others returning. Alice could be relied upon for impeccable timing.
As the others entered the living room, Bella opened her eyes. They shone like rubies against her skin, now even lighter than it had been before. The blue of her clothes was like rain against fire, her features were preternaturally beautiful and had scarcely changed.
Her eyes darted at immortal speed around the room, taking in the details her human eyes had missed. The exact weak points in the wood, the particles in the air. She took her first immortal breath, and the exhale filled the air with her sweet perfume. Then she stretched, taking stock of her form, still cradled in my arms.
She tensed, and I moved to let her go, but not as fast as she went. My arms stung at the force with which she leapt across the room. "Bella?"
I refocused on the minds of the others. Alice had seen that coming and was mocking me for not reacting faster. Jasper could see that her reaction was one of fear, of confusion, but the emotions were already clearing.
"Bella, love? I know it's disorienting, but you're alright. Everything's fine," I reassured her, reaching out gently for her.
She leapt into me, enfolding me in a crushing embrace. I would have let her do it, if not for the fact that when I read Jasper to see she had no ill intent, I also saw his assessment of how much damage a newborn as young as Bella was probably doing to me. I did not want to rebuff her, though.
"Um... carefully Bella. Ow"
Her arms disappeared immediately, much to my chagrin.
"It's ok," I smiled, and replaced her arms around me. "Your turn not to break me"
She was sufficiently taken aback by that that I could see her reply almost form on her lips before she caught herself. Then, her hand moved achingly, almost humanly slowly up to touch my face. She stared into my eyes.
"I love you"
Can you imagine if Bella didn't have a nightmare pregnancy and her being turned into a vampire was actually romantic?
Edward learns how to make her favorite food for her last human meal, they have it picnic style in their meadow before running back to Edward's house. All the Cullen's are gone for privacy (Carlisle is close by in case of emergency) but Edward takes Bella up to his room and lays her on the bed in her favorite comfy clothes, they hold each other and he whispers reassurances in her ear while leaving little kisses all over her face. When Bella's ready, Edward holds her in his arms and pulls back her hair, he bites her neck softly before licking the mark, sealing it closed with his venom. He bites her wrists, gently licking and kissing until he's sure she's got enough of his venom in her system. Edward holds Bella for three days while she burns. He recites her favorite books, poems, hums her lullaby, tells her stories about his long life until at last she starts to twitch in his arms. He looks into the face of the most beautiful girl in his universe and she opens her eyes to stare back at him in absolute wonder.
#y'know what I can imagine that#twilight renaissance#perhaps more angst than romance but Edward's perspective has always felt more natural for me to write#team edward#nacrinspired#fanfic#romance#may be overly referential but i care not for such petty qualms
