I just have the energy to write something since I recently started uni! So I want to take advantage of the energy and inspiration I have now to talk about this albino baby I have here, Say hello to Audrey Whitegarden!

Audrey is a childhood friend of Riddle, Trey, and Chenya, Audrey and Riddle were neighbors, and that's how they met.

Audrey was always closely watched by her parents, who even judged her friends. However, since Riddle was the son of a renowned doctor, they instantly approved and allowed their daughter to have study sessions with Riddle from a very young age.

Audrey's parents had her when they were teenagers (they studied at Noble Belle College) and because of this they are very controlling with her friends and social groups, since they do not want her to make the same mistakes as them, however Nola and Alan become too, TOO invasive with Audrey's life to the point where she does not feel safe talking to them about topics that she thinks could bother them (romantic relationships, joining clubs outside of school, going out with friends more often, etc.) and keeps many secrets from them.

Despite her strict upbringing, Audrey blossomed into a kind, cheerful, and very sophisticated girl and deeply empathetic.

Audrey is very obedient to her parents. Even if she keeps secrets from them, she still loves and respects them, believing that they only care about her future (even if it's to an unhealthy degree). She also has a great fear of failure and criticism, so she tries to do everything in a way that prevents criticism or fault-finding.

Audrey studies at the Rosas Academy and is part of the Crownleblanc dorm. She is a dorm leader who, while strict, is also very kind and helpful to the other students.

Audrey has a tremendous talent with potions, more so than anyone her age, and has participated in potions competitions, always finishing in the top three. She is extremely proud of this.

Audrey also has a passion for classical music. She learned to play the piano from her father at a very young age and is also a master at playing the violin.

Audrey loves visiting her NRC and RSA friends when she has free time and enjoys taking care of the hedgehogs with Riddle. She loves spending time with him in general.

Her dynamic with Riddle is insanely in love x oblivious, They both like each other, but Audrey doesn't realize that Riddle feels the same way about her, and she doesn't make the first move until Riddle confesses.

Riddle tends to show his softer side with Audrey and is usually the one who defends her from people who make her feel bad or insecure. After his overblot, Riddle tries to help Audrey recognize that her parents are too invasive and that she shouldn't feel bad about speaking her mind just because of the possible criticism.

Audrey's unique magic, called "papermania," allows her to control paper and shape it into any shape she wants. She primarily uses it to make paper birds that fly and sing, but she can also make paper imitations of other animals.

Audrey siempre fue una niña muy vigilada por sus padres, siendo que incluso llegaban a juzgar a sus amistades, sin embargo como Riddle era hijo de una reconocida doctora ellos lo aprobaron al instante y dejaban que su hija tuviera sesiones de estudio con Riddle desde muy jóvenes.

Los padres de audrey la tuvieron siendo adolescentes(ellos estudiaban en noble belle college) y debido a esto son muy controladores con sus amistades y grupos sociales, ya que no quieren que ella cometa los mismos errores que ellos, sin embargo Nola y Alan llegan a ser demasiado,DEMASIADO invasivos con la vida de Audrey al punto en el que ella no se siente segura al hablar con ellos de temas que piensa que les podrían molestar(relaciones románticas, entrar a clubes fuera de la escuela,salir con amigos más seguido,etc) y guarda muchos secretos de ellos.

Pese a su crianza estricta Audrey floreció como una jovencita amable, risueña y muy sofisticada que siente mucha empatia hacia los demás.

Audrey es muy obediente a sus padres, incluso si les guarda secretos ella sigue amandolos y respetandolos al considerar que solo se preocupan por su futuro(incluso si es a un grado enfermizo), ella también tiene un gran miedo al fracaso y a la crítica por lo que trata de hacer todo de forma que no se pueda criticar o sacar fallos.

Audrey estudia en la academia rosas y es parte del dorm de crownleblanc, siendo una dormleader que si bien es estricta también es muy amable y servicial con las demás alumnas.

Audrey tiene un gran talento con las pócimas, más grande que cualquiera de su edad y ha ido a concursos de pociones en los que siempre termina en el top 3, ella está sumamente orgullosa de esto.

Audrey también tiene pasión por la música clásica, ella aprendió a tocar el piano de su padre a muy temprana edad y también sabe tocar el violín con maestría.

Audrey ama visitar a sus amigos de nrc y rsa cuando tiene tiempo libre y le gusta cuidar de los erizos con Riddle, en si ella ama pasar tiempo con él.

Su dinámica con riddle es de enamorado x inconsciente, ambos se gustan pero Audrey no se da cuenta de que Riddle siente lo mismo por ella y ella no da el primer paso hasta que Riddle se confiese.

Riddle suele mostrar su lado más suave con Audrey y suele ser quien la defiende de la gente que la hacen sentir mal o insegura, después de su overblot Riddle trata de ayudar a Audrey a reconocer que sus padres son demasiado invasivos y que ella no debería sentirse mal de decir lo que piensa solo por la posible crítica.

La magia única de Audrey se llama "papelmania" le permite controlar el papel y darle la forma que quiera, principalmente lo usa para hacer aves de papel que vuelan y cantan pero también puede hacer imitaciones de papel de otros animales.

Strange really that there are so many different gardens at Sissinghurst, but one of my favourite parts of a visit is to see what the gardeners have selected to showcase at the entrance

I'm never going to fall in love with the Delos garden and have never spoken to another visitor who likes it, but it is going to be further expanded or worked upon as an ongoing project LINK If you scroll down that page you can see what they have to say about work between now and next Spring. It's quite interesting to read the quote from when Vita originally reimagined a holiday scene back at home. She said

By way of contrast, the centre of the White Garden is one of my favourite scenes. There are several spots that showcase a large pot or urn and my envy is so strong

This particular visit was in mid August, quite a dull day, but at least it was dry. Some of the colours were already Autumnal and the glory of Summer was over

It's quite unfortunate that the photos are so dull in colour, but that's the kind of Summer we had, the odd hot day, but such a lot of rain and grey skies. It's also taken me an age to get my old lap top working and the pics downloaded. Goodness knows why my new one has such temperamental episodes and refuses to cooperate.

I'll also do three WIPs, because I love to talk about the things I'll never fully finish

What has been your biggest struggle with your wip?

Whitegarden: Just finishing the damn thing ;-; I have everything planned out, from characters to plot, but the urge to actually sit and write it out continually escapes me.

Sielsi: Wrangling my original work into something less... Juvenile. The original parts I wrote were borderline plagiarized from the Inheritance Cycle, with sprinkles of Vampire Diaries mixed in there. I love the characters I made, but everything else needs a lot of work still.

The Bandit Queen's Bride: Inspiration is the biggest struggle for this one. I wrote the first handful of chapters in a blind haze, and haven't had any inspiration to keep going.

If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?

Whitegarden: Something dramatic, like the Game of Thrones theme song. Maybe a cool map graphic to show off the map I made of the continent, and symbolism to represent the various characters and factions............... So the Game of Thrones intro.

Sielsi: Something that starts out hopeful and cheery, that slowly darkens over the course of the season(s), until its got a noticeably sinister quality. Perhaps later it brightens again, but never quite returns to the cheerful sound it was before.

The Bandit Queen's Bride: Taylor Swift, but make it bardcore.

What other pieces of media do you think would share a fan base for your story?

This, I have no idea how to answer. I have a really poor understanding of why other fandoms are popular, so I feel zero confidence in guessing what kinds of audiences I would have from other fandoms.

What was the first part of your wip that you created?

Whitegarden: This song. The first time I heard it, I honestly didn't like it that much. Then I kept listening, and inspiration grew from there. Now it's permanently stuck in the top 20 most listened songs for me lol. I wrote up a rough draft of two children, separated in childhood because of a cursed bloodline. That rough draft is a far cry from what I've settled on by now, but it'll always hold a special place in my memories.

Sielsi: I was in middle school when I read Eragon for the first time, and I thought to myself, "I could do that, but with shapeshifters". So I did that, with shapeshifters. Wrote almost 40k words in a word document, just making it up as I went.

The Bandit Queen's Bride: Had the idea for a story and came up with a handful of characters. Spent a solid few hours trying to decide what sort of accent to get the Bandit Queen.

Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!

Whitegarden: Most of the world is populated by animals very similar to what real life has. There are also monsters of various sorts, some more animal-like than others. My favorite is the Enochria, a shadowy beast with multiple arm-like appendages that lives in dark caves in the coldest parts of the continent. They emerge once a year at mid-autumn, then migrate south for the winter/early spring. They climb trees to find mates, then gestate their offspring for variable amounts of time until they find a suitable cave in their northern habitat. Due to magic interference from [Redacted for spoiler reasons], Enochria are moving further and further south, causing many to die from overheating, starvation, or being hunted by frightened humans.

Sielsi: There are natural animals, but nothing relevant to the story. Since half of the main cast are shapeshifters, all the animal shenanigans are their fault. Also I haven't decided if I want standard earth animals, or maybe to add some monsters too.

The Bandit Queen's Bride: There is a very good, very wonderful horse named Tore. A huge bay roan stallion who is extremely loyal to Jin, the Bandit Queen. He originally belonged to Jin's mother, and was passed to her when her mother left the gang. The rest of the bandits have their own horses, but so far, Tore is the only one with any fleshing out.

What part of your wip are you working on rn?

Whitegarden: I flip flop between making more character art and thinking of new monsters to add to the world.

Sielsi: Still struggling with how to lay out the story in a new way ;-;

The Bandit Queen's Bride: Trying to figure out all the secondary/tertiary characters

How do your characters get around? (ex: trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)

The answer is the same for all three. Walking or riding horses is the most common way of travel. Those who can afford it will take carriages or ships. For Sielsi, the shapeshifters can turn into birds and fly.

What are your hopes for your wip?

I just wanna finish one of them. Please I am desperate to finish something. Anything.

WIP Questions Tag

I wasn't actually tagged by anyone, but @owlsandwich opened it up to everybody so I'm giving this a try! Open tag, but also no pressure tags to @somethingclevermahogony , @queen-of-the-weenies and @sarandipitywrites !

We're gonna do my main current WIP, God-Touched, and also a couple I've tabled for a bit due to stress, which are called Gods of Steel, and Nico after the name of the MC, respectively. I copy pasted the questions and I may have missed one or two.

What has been your biggest struggle with your wip?

God-Touched: This is more of an overall writing struggle for me, but underwriting/being too concise. I tend to make unnecessary time skips when outlining and not add enough descriptive passages.

Gods of Steel: The world building. I usually enjoy complex world building, but I may have bitten off more than I can chew with this project. I'm taking it slow and building one aspect of it at a time as I'm motivated to do the necessary research, so fingers crossed that works out.

Nico: This one's kinda stupid, but keeping myself from imagining my protagonist as Nico di Angelo. She's completely different in appearance, mannerisms, etc, but I'm a rabid PJO fan and that was my first association with the name.

If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?

God-Touched: Definitely something by Imagine Dragons, probably Natural.

Gods of Steel: Probably some kind of epic orchestral thing, I haven't found a specific track yet.

Nico: Song Of Women by the HU and Lzzy Hale. Going purely off of sound and vibes.

What other pieces of media do you think would share a fan base for your story?

God-Touched: Supernatural, Firefly, the King Arthur reincarnated as a space lesbian book (Once and Future) and the book Spellhacker by MK England.

Gods of Steel: This is gonna sound really presumptuous, but I'm trying to make it similar to Dune and the Na'vi Avatar movies.

Nico: Honestly, Tamora Pierce, even though my story is more sci-fi than fantasy. Also slightly the Divergent movie (haven't read the book in years), in that the MC slowly realizes just how much of a dystopia she's actually living in, even though she started out compliant.

What was the first part of your wip that you created?

God-Touched: The general concept of Christian mythology put into a queer science fantasy context.

Gods of Steel: The setting, (humanity's original non-Earth home), and some of its history.

Nico: The idea for the relationship arc between the two main characters. It was the first time I'd ever wanted to write romance, and it was an interesting challenge to come up with how that would play out.

Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!

God-Touched: This is a major spoiler, but the main gang ends up adopting an iridescent rainbow baby space dragon. She looks majestic, but is actually a huge derpy goof. She's heavily based on Banana, my little sister's big ginger cat who is not exactly the sharpest crayon in the box

Gods of Steel: The main villains on this story are cyborgs, but some are cyborg animals rather than people. They started out as normal robots, but then got this virus that made them grow flesh, skin and other organic parts, but many of the animal-like ones still have working blades or guns as part of their bodies that they use when hunting humans for food.

Nico: The fauna of the setting for this one is very ice age influenced, the main character has a war mammoth that she's raised from a calf to be her mount and companion.

What part of your wip are you working on rn?

God-Touched: First draft of the first two books, if all goes well it's gonna be a five book series.

Gods of Steel: World Building.

Nico: In my first stage of outlining.

How do your characters get around? (ex: trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)

God-Touched: spaceships and hover bikes

Gods of Steel: spaceships, then on foot after all their tech gets infected by the cyborgs.

Nico: Mammoth-back riding.

What are your hopes for your wip?

This is the same for all of them so I'll just do one answer: A devoted fandom that uses my books as inspiration to create their own awesome content. Fanart, fanfic, animatics, those character analysis YouTube videos, anything like that.

In the small white garden of Ulting Wick Garden, Essex, UK, the slender spikes of Persicaria amplexicaulis 'Alba' (bistort) were covered in tiny, white flowers . These flowers are produced from summer until autumn creating a transparent effect, and the texture contrasts with the larger white flowers of Anemone × hybrida 'Honorine Jobert' (Japanese anemone). Persicaria is an upright, clump-forming perennial which requires a moist soil in full sun or partial shade.

Past:

I realize now that a Death Note fanfic is one of the few WIPs I've ever finished and it was from way back in middle school. L got turned into a cat, and Misa was a crazy cat girlie instead of a Kira stan, so she adopted Cat L. Eventually he learned how to communicate in a way she understood and she used witchcraft to turn him back (I wrote this when I was a wee bebeh stop judging me)

Present:

I have so many :,) If I had to pick just one, I'd pick either Sielsi--which was inspired by the Inheritance Cycle and my deep-seated frustration about the lack of cool shapeshifters in YA romance/fantasy--or it'd be The Bandit Queen's Bride--a self-indulgent lesbian love story full of sapphic yearning and ocean-adjacent adventures.

Future:

I just want to finish my Whitegarden story. I have it literally planned out, written snippets of scenes, made art and music playlists for the characters... And it's sat in my WIP folder for like three years without any updates. Maybe next year I'll get around to it.

Past: unpublished fanfiction. Oh God. I was in middle school or high school. I hate it. I cringe so hard. Warriors cats is the least painful. Hamilton middle school AU. MCU au. I started a supernatural fanfic. Like one scene. Thank God. I have nothing against fanfic writers - mass respect honestly. But mine hurts it's so cringe. Maybe cause it's mine. It's certainly not for me that's for sure.

Current: two YA series: sci-fi/fantasy series The Secret Portal and fantasy fairy tale retelling School of the Legends. in short, TSP follows these adolescents discovering an interdimensional portal something something powers something something war. SOTL is what it sounds like; there's an international school for people with gifts (born with), majicks (developed), and curses (given).

Next: I'd love to write what's currently being called The Emerald of Secrets but the title may change. I've written some parts of it in the past but none are gonna be used directly, so I'm not counting it as current or past. Have something to do with the ozone layer one I mentioned on this poll. [LAST DAY VOTE NOW]. Fairy world kinda helps human world is short version.
