At Kings International Medical Academy, Mahabalipuram, we held the White Coat Ceremony, a meaningful event that motivates students as they prepare to travel to the Philippines to pursue their MBBS studies. During the ceremony, students received their white coats, stethoscopes, and dissection boxes.

The chief guest for the occasion was Dr. David K. Pillai, our Chairman, with other distinguished guests including our CEO, Mr. Daniel Atistakumar, Mrs. Jecintha David Pillai, our Trustee Mrs. Indira, and Mrs. Sherly Atistakumar.

As always, our Chairman delivered an inspirational speech, encouraging the students to pursue their journeys with determination and ambition. He reminded them of the sacrifices their parents made to provide them with this education and urged them to strive to make their parents proud by never giving up on their dreams.

The dignitaries invited the parents to drape the white coats on their children, and they presented the stethoscopes and dissection boxes to them. The ceremony was a deeply meaningful and moving occasion, marking an important milestone for our students before they set off to study abroad.

This journey has been challenging but by the grace of God and my giant support system (both pictured and not pictured), I have been able to make it to this point. This white coat signifies many years of long days and nights, failures, retries, and growth. To me, this has never been about simply being “smart” or academically “gifted” but rather the work ethic and the passion you bring to the table. Knowledge is useless if used maliciously or if not shared with others who could benefit. Halfway there, I am excited for what is coming next and the challenges that lie ahead.
