Working on the trim for my stained glass window today :)
#this is probably the thing im most excited to see in my house#its so pretty#we're remaking the old trim out of white pvc board stuff. never rots lasts forever. old stuff is already taken off in this pic#it was missing some pieces of it and is in really rough shape so we're using it as a template for the new stuff#its going in my bathroom on the very back wall so if the doors open you can see it from the rest of the downstairs

ZIGGY.................. the white worm.......#i miss him so bad man :-((((( he had a truly iconic run#he was a stray living in the field beside my parents' house which he shared w a flock of sheep#and he was eating from our garbage bin so we lured him into the house with meat pies#he appeared like. a week after david bowie died#he had heterochromia. dad was calling him david until ziggy randomly stuck#my dad was convinced bowie's soul has been reincarnated into this strange lil white cat's body#he was v deaf and had the honkiest meow ever every time i talked 2 dad on the phone i could always hear zig poppin off in the background#he always smelled kind of weird bc he drank from various dubious water sources XD#just ziggy things#but the poor lil guy had v aggressive skin cancer :-(((( he had to get his ears trimmed n he looked like a lil polar bear#i catsat him last weekend n we had sooo many snuggles. he covered all my (black) clothes in white fur#in fact i put on my sweater vest this morn 2 discover that it was still covered in white fur n cried :-(((#but yes. i groomed him w his fav brush while he was being put to sleep so. V SAD.... but beloved right til the end <3

in the midst of all these summer homes in winter crowded together kissing close one empty lot and then another like missing stairs like this should feel like some kind of a relief and it just doesn't and I can't tell you why
#365#poetry#also i didn't take a picture because it felt weird#but there's a house that's presumably being redone#got the sign up advertising who's doing it#and the trim of the porch has these hand-painted flowers#and this is original right this is chipped and faded and it's the old house#that's about to go away forever#and it's so fucking depressing#it's the mcminimalism thing that gets me#not quite mcmansions because those aren't as trendy now so it's these clean white and gray rectangles#still oversized crowding the lot super close to one another but 'minimalist' in that trendy way#and that's what's going to happen that's what we get we lose that painted trim#and we'll lose those vacant lots#and it'll all be mcminimalist#that's my tag rant enjoy your evening

4 days out from a full year of living in what is essentially my dream house :’)
#.txt#not fully my dream house. my dream house is actually either that green victorian with red trim or the white victorian with a tiny balcony#that has like a curtain on it for privacy so you can hang out without people staring at you#BUT I DIGRESS!!!!! i still live in a gorgeous turn of the century house with a wrap around porch and wonderful roommates#and super cozy cute decor ^_^#also speaking of roommates. im going to get them little snack gift boxes from work for valentines day! with their favorite macarons#and one of their other favorite treats :3 and i’m also thinking about buying a boquet of roses or tulips so i can give them away#to my coworkers and roommates as a little vday treat#also have to buy some jolly rancher heart lollipops. EVERYBODY loves jolly rancher heart lollipops
