Harry sighed. “Yeah. I figured. I just need to bullshit for long enough to allow Liam to get the situation figured out from his end.”

“Right, which brings me to my entire point. I think we can find a mutually beneficial arrangement with all of this.” Louis leaned forward. “You need to learn the ins and outs of the sport incredibly fast. I can help you with that.”

💎 Old Photographs & Times I'll Remember by @jaerie (E, 54k)

Carefully he set that negative down and lifted the paper to see there was another beneath. This one again was a young man, this time posed against an antique car. He lifted a few more negatives out one by one, each a portrait of the same man with various backdrops. The man in a meadow, in an office, leaning against a doorframe — even one in his underwear grinning at the camera. On the edge of each negative printed in slanted, handwritten characters were the initials and date. H.S. 1924.

He quickly but carefully packed them back into the box and buzzed with excitement. He couldn’t wait to develop them to see exactly what had been captured in the images. It was a find that felt like a puzzle to piece together.

H.S. was likely the man in the photographs as well as the owner of the suitcase. Who was he? Why had his suitcase found its way into Niall’s attic? Was he still alive and well somewhere in the world?

hi gina! do you by any chance know the fic where louis goes back to his small hometown and he ends up with harry who is the pastors son. Sadly the only major thing i remember is when they have sex harry asks why he doesn’t top and louis’ like you couldn’t handle it or something so when harry does he literally comes immediately. And then i think louis takes harry to his house and his whole family accepts him and it’s cute. Hiding It - Calum Hood Imagine

Requested by @whisperedlullaby​ - I changed the plot a little, but I hope you still like it! xx

Plot: When Calum decided to spring news on her, Y/N decides the only way to hide  her feelings is to make a mess out of the situation.

Word Count: 1466

Warnings: Swearing

Unrequited love is a bitch. It makes you fall completely head over heels for someone, become more obsessed with them with every breath they take and want to spend every passing second by their side. It makes you want to be with that person forever.

The only problem being in the name itself: unrequited.

The dictionary definition says “Unrequited love or one-sided love is love that is not openly reciprocated or understood as such by the beloved”.

Your definition is “the thing means he won’t ever love me back”.

And by “he” you mean, the one and only Calum Hood.

Calum and you have been friends since you were 5. You met at pre-school, before he even knew that he wanted to play music. You got to learn the real him and with every day, the bond between you just grew closer and closer. Nothing would tear you apart: you played after school, you spent weekends together, you wouldn’t go to a party unless he was invited (even if it was a princess one). You were just too close.

But as time went on, things changed. You went through primary school together, which eventually led to high school, which eventually led to saying goodbye to

Calum before you were ready.

It was in year 11 when it happened. Calum and you were still as close as ever, and you were sat in your bedroom revising for you Biology final that was due in a few weeks.

Suddenly, Calum pushed the books from his lap to the floor and smiled at you.

You gave a small grim back, unsure of what he was doing.

“Cal, are you gonna pick those up?”

He just looked at you, the smile growing wider and shook his head.

“No need, I’m dropping out.”

You laughed, “yeah, and I’m going to move to Jupiter with my pet unicorn.”

Calum laughed at your comment and pushed you lightly on the shoulder, “I’m serious! I’ve already talked to my parents about it and they’re cool with it!”

When you realised he was serious, your eyebrows knitted and eyes looked at him confused, “Why are you leaving?”

“The band, were supporting One Direction on tour!” He almost squealed in delight.

The band? You knew he had gotten close to some of the boys in your year and they had started to form a small band. You had assumed it was just going to be a bit of fun, rehearsals now and then and messing around on guitars. But now they were going on tour with the biggest boy band in the world, and Calum was…leaving.

You stood up off your bed, body enraged.

“Why didn’t you tell me any of this?” You accused.

Calum’s happy face suddenly disappeared as he didn’t get the reaction he was expecting or hoping for.

“I was waiting for the right time,” he defended himself.

“And you think that now is the right time to tell me you’re leaving to travel around the world?”

“YES!”

You scoffed, not believing what you were hearing. You didn’t want to believe.

“Get out,” you told him, your voice calm, insides on fire.

Calum looked at the door and looked back at you, his eyes showing nothing but hurt and betrayal, but little did he know you were feeling the same way.

“What? Y/N, you can’t tell-“

“I SAID GET OUT CALUM!” You yelled back.

Calum was silent. You didn’t really want him to leave, you were just hurt and angry that he wasn’t going to come back.

He quietly picked up his books, the tension in the air so thick you could cut it with a knife.

“Fine,” he murmured. “Fine, I will leave.”

“Cal, I’m sorry I-“

“No Y/N, save it.”

And with that, your best friend walked out the door, and there was nothing you could do to stop it.

Weeks passed, and Calum was telling the truth – he did drop out, along with two other boys in your school. They all left. Calum didn’t even say goodbye before he boarded the plane, he didn’t text, he didn’t call, he didn’t contact you in any way. The only time you could see him was on social media, but even if you commented something, it would be missed by the swarms of fans that now knew about him and the band.

Of course, you were happy for him, of course you wanted him to become big and successful. But that day could have ended so differently if you had just told Calum straight to his face that you loved him.

--4 YEARS LATER / PRESENT DAY –

“No, Julian, the paperwork doesn’t have to be filed until Monday…yes I will…bye.”

Your work was an obsessive company that made you do their dirty work 24/7, but you weren’t complaining- the money was good and you got free lunch passes to any restaurants of your choice. Signing out of your office and heading to Nandos with your free pass in hand, you felt good. There was something in the air that just made today feel different – maybe it was the sun, maybe it was your dress. It didn’t matter, you just felt like a good version of you.

After ordering your usual, you headed back to your apartment. It was nice enough, with a great overview of London, where you moved to a year ago. The building had a rustic feeling about it, and whilst walking up the stair case, you couldn’t help but notice a new car parked outside. Thinking nothing of it, you pulled out your keys and opened the door.

When you saw what was inside, you screamed.

“JESUS CHRIST, CALUM! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?” You yelled at him viciously, still shaking from the initial shock.

“Still like Nandos I see?” He judged looking at the bag.

“What the hell are you doing here?” You asked him, still shaking from the jump.

He just raised his eyebrows hopefully, “Surprise?”

“Hell fucking yeah it is, you scared the shit out of me.” You closed the door behind you and put your bag of food on the table, trying not to look at how good Calum had gotten. You hadn’t seen him in years, so this was all too weird. He just chuckled at your attempt to not be shitting yourself, but the pleasantries were not to last long.

“Calum, why are you here?” You confronted him, not being able to resist the urge.

“What am I not allowed to visit you know?”

“No, not after 4 years of nothing!” You were starting to get defensive now.

“Well it’s your fault we stopped talking in the first place!” He threw back.

“Mine?” the argument was getting heated very quickly. “You were the one who just piped up you were leaving!”

Calum was almost shaking with rage, but so were you.

“I expected you to be happy for me!”

“WELL I COULDN’T OK!” You defended yourself.

“WHY NOT Y/N? WHY WULD YOU BLOVK ME OUT LIKE- “

“BECAUSE I AM IN LOVE WITH YOU CALUM.”

The room suddenly went silent. All the things being said were running through your head, and you couldn’t believe you had finally told him. After all that time, you finally said it. Avoiding his eyes, you shifted uncomfortably under his stare.

“What did you say?” Calum asked quietly, shock laced through every word.

You moved your eyes back up to meet his, and just looked at him

“You heard me.”

Calum took a step closer towards you, closing the awkward tension that was hanging in the air.

“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to hear that,” Calum spoke softly with a grin forming on his face.

Shock ran through you as you took in his words.

“What?” You asked in disbelief.

Calum moved forwards until he was directly in front of you and toom your face in his hands. He cupped your gently, and looked straight into your eyes.

“I came back today because I needed to tell you that I love you. Y/N Y/L/N I love you more than anything. You have no idea how long I’ve waited to say that to you, I’ve just never had the guts to,” he told you honestly.

You smiled back at him.

“Well,” you replied, “You’re here now.”

And with that, you closed the gap between you, pressing your lips passionately to his. It felt perfect, after all this time, it was like he never left. All your emotions suddenly heightened as you entangled your hands in his hair, trying to pull him closer.

After a while, he pulled away and rested his forehead on yours.

“I’m here now,” he told you, “and I’m never leaving.”

I will say that there are a lot of mentions of religion and God, and as an atheist it was kind of awkward to read at some points, but it was so worth it.
