you and your boyfriend are kind of the opposite of each other

he likes cats, you like dogs

he’s team captain and youre on the bleachers

t-swift reference bc you guys listen to her in his car

this isnt any reason for you to not be together though

you compliment each other

he’s the yin to your yang

he’s the blue to your berry

he’s the apple to your pie

he = Lee Jeno

team captain of the basketball team 😌

and your handsome ace boyfriend

bc of this, you now have a solid common denominator: basketball

you know practically everything about it now bc he doesnt really shut up about it

from the rules to the actual game play 

you even know some nba players !!

jeno still is your number one though

he only plays basketball ❤️ not your feelings ❤️

and today, he has a match

semi-finals !!! and !!! you dont gotta go far just to watch !!!

you love bus rides with jeno though,, dont get it wrong

but you being a sleepyhead and him being the nicest bf ever isnt a good match

bc you end up sleeping on the way to the venue and he lets you fall asleep on his arm/shoulder

you say sorry and tell him he should wake you up but he always says its alright even though you see him do extra stretch exercises before games bc of the numbness he feels from the lack of blood flow

the bell rings and that signals the early dismissal

everyone LOVES a good intense basketball, and your school admin isnt an exception

most of the students zoomed out from their respective classes to get good seats for the game

but you were on your way heading towards the opposite direction, which is to the restrooms

jeno told you he needs to exchange jerseys with you bc their opponent is gonna wear blue- the same as your school’s color

and yes... you have his other jersey (perks of being his s/o)

"nono... why do you guys have to be the ones to adjust?" you ask

"love, it doesnt matter whether we wear blue or white, dont you think?"

"hmm. i guess youre right, you still look and do great in whatever color you wear"

this tall man BLUSHES when he hears that

anyway he kisses your cheeks before going

he takes a while to change out of his school uniform and into his basketball uniform

though it may take him a few minutes to get ready, it’s alright bc you change your top to wear his jersey

he doesnt say it out loud but when he sees you on the bleachers representing him by wearing his number and his last name his heart swells

you exit the restroom to see him waiting for you outside and so you walk together to the gym

jeno recognizes the fact that some are envious bc youre the one who gets to be with him and he also knows that there are people who would like to be in his place

bc of this, you two enter the court hand in hand

as he proceeds to warm up with the team, you go to the bleachers

and you proceed to be on your phone (maybe to take pics of your bf, who knows)

youre pretty much chilling since its 20 mins before the game starts

your peace is destroyed by a player of the other team sitting beside you

jeno sees this happen

and even though he witnesses the way you ignore the guy

he feels a wave of pain on his chest and he knows: its jealousy

he’s a reasonable man, but who the hell does that guy think he is to even breathe the same air as you did

he’s still occupied with his thoughts as he sees the guy leave

with a smirk on the face that he wants to punch

he’s now striding towards to where you were

“what did that say to you?”

“he asked for my number”

“and?”

“and he said some dumb things”

“what dumb things, y/n?” he asks as his voice lowers in tone

YIKES... captain lee calling his s/o by their first name? you have to tell him that the guy with the same jersey number as him told you he’s gonna show you he’s the better #23. yes, yes u do

“do you believe in him?”

“of course not!! nono, you’re the best basketball player for me. i only believe in your team, and i definitely believe in you, no one else :((”

“you better do”

and he storms off

the game starts and jeno is on fire

he steals the ball whenever he gets the chance to

he blocks everyone who’s trying to shoot the ball

he scores and scores and scores

soon enough the game ends in 90-101 in favor of your school

jeno slips away from his ecstatic team and goes to you

when he reaches you, the first thing he does is hug you tight

you try to tell him how youre so proud of him and how amazing he was but he cuts you off

“im sorry for being rude before the game, love. i just didnt like what happened and felt jealous even though it was unnecessary” he says softly

“nono, it’s alright. as long as you remember that i love you and no one else, it’s alright” you hug him tighter

you kiss him on the cheeks as you pull away

only for him to pull you close to kiss you on the lips and embrace you in his arms again

“let’s stop hugging for a minute, youre sweaty”

“yah!! let me hug you a little longer, you’re my lucky charm 🥺”

“ohoho i didnt know youre clingy like this when youre jealous, nono 😏”

“euh?! i always hug you after games what do you mean”

“the loser is looking at us right now, huh?”

“yes”
