Please do the Polytr/x watching Rumi's twin's debut solo performance concert in disguise to blend in with the crowd.
The Debut
Saja Boys x Rumi’s Sister! Reader
A/N: Here is the reader’s solo debut performance but she does it Saja Boys style by doing a street performance. The boys kinda be thirsting for it though.
Synopsis: After the defeat of Gwi Ma and with the support of your sister, your boyfriends, and your sisters-from-other-misters, it’s finally time for you to have your solo debut as a music artist. And of course the eight idiots have to go and support you.
Disclaimer: The song I use in this is not mine, nor is any of the characters except for the MC.
Word Count: 2,214
Master List
Tumblr media
(Reminder: Baby = Jum, Romance = Chungae, Mystery = Hyeon, Abby = Kwan)
“Are you ready for this, (Y/n)?”
“Are you hydrated?”
“Do you need any more posters passed out?”
You chuckled, waving your hands as you walked with the girls to where you would have your debut performance. “I’m fine, girls. I have everything I need.”
You couldn’t help but run through your mental checklist one last time. Bobby had gotten all the paperwork settled for you to use the location, the speakers and effects had been set up this morning, your outfit was hot but casual, your makeup was flawless, and you had already done your vocal warmups. Oh, and the boys would meet the girls there while you got in position for your performance. Everyone was in disguise of course, not wanting to risk taking the attention from your debut.
Perhaps the two hardest parts of getting ready for your debut was choosing what song in your files you wanted to debut with, and making and perfecting the choreography. You appreciated Kwan and Mira’s help with making the choreography—you had kicked them out as soon as you could though, wanting it to be a surprise for them as well.
Zoey shook your arm, “We’re just so excited to see you debut! I can’t wait for us to all collaborate together!”
Rumi smiled as well, also excited at the prospect of performing with her sister for the first time, “I can already picture it.”
“Don’t get too ahead of yourselves, she still has to debut after all,” Mira smirked at her two girlfriends. They could all tell that she was just as excited as them though.
“I can’t wait either, I’ve always wanted to share the stage with you three,” You told them. The three shared your smile, although they couldn’t help but feel a little bitter and lingering resentment for Celine who had separated you from them and kept you from following your dreams.
The four of you were interrupted when someone almost tackled you from behind, “Hey babe!”
You chuckled, patting the thick arms around your shoulders, “Hey Kwan! Thank you guys for coming!”
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world, darling,” Chungae voiced as the boys gathered with the four of you.
“Are you nervous?” Jinu asked you softly.
You shrugged, “A little. My hands are kind of shaking but I can’t tell if it’s from nerves or excitement.” You lifted your hands up to eye level and, sure enough, they were trembling just a bit.
Hyeon took your hands in his, holding the cold digits to warm them with his own. Jum slipped you one of your favorite candies. Kwan made an attempt to ruffle your hair but you batted his hands away.
“Hey, not the hair!” You told him. You noticed that the sky was starting to change color as the sun began to set. “You guys find good spots, I gotta go take my place.”
The eight waved after you, cheering encouragements.
“You got this, babe!”
“You’re gonna do great!”
“It’s gonna be so hot.”
“Break a leg!”
“That’s a terrible thing to say.”
“Huh?”
“It’s ‘good luck’ in the entertainment world, you old man.”
“Oh. Break an arm!”
“That’s not how it works!”
“Huh?”
“Guys…”
You couldn’t help but laugh to yourself as you went to go find Bobby to go over the last checks.
Once you were out of sight, the eight put their game faces on. “Everybody ready?” Rumi checked.
Everyone nodded.
“Disguise check,” Jinu reminded everyone. Everybody tugged their hats on lower, pushing glasses up the bridge of their noses.
“Check.”
“Check.”
“Check.”
“And everyone’s got the goods, right?” Rumi triple checked, They pat pockets to make sure and they all nodded. Rumi nodded back, “Alright, let’s go.”
The area was decently crowded, a good bunch of people having gathered to watch the sunset over the river.
“Bobby!” You greeted quietly when you made it through the sparse crowd and found him.
“(Y/n), you’re just on time!” Bobby greeted you, his voice hushed but excited. “We went through final checks a little bit ago. Microphone.” You stood still as someone came over and swiftly got a mic and earpiece on you and taped into place in record time. “You feel ready?”
You nodded, grinning as you took a deep breath. “As ready as I’ll ever be, I think.”
Bobby nodded, patting your shoulder, “You’re gonna do great, I know it. Go get into place, I’ll give you a countdown to cue the music so start wandering over. You got this!” Bobby gave you a big thumbs up and you nodded, the two of splitting so you could start making your way to your mark.
You eyed the crowd around you as you wandered casually to your mark. You had uploaded the time and place to your social media and plenty of posters had been put up and passed out. Your name wasn’t on it, everything only said it was a solo artist debuting but lots of people had probably already put it together. It was a decent sized crowd for a street debut for a solo artist.
“Alright, (Y/n), you in place? Cueing the music in five, four, three…”
You looked down, you were on your mark and you took a deep settling breath as the music began, filling the surrounding area with all the hidden speakers everywhere.
“Like a river, like a river, sh-~ Like a river, like a river, sh-~ Like a river, like a river~ Shut your mouth and run me like a river~”
Your voice rang through the speakers as the intro played. People began looking up and around, searching for where the music was coming from. Some who knew what was going on whooped and cheered. A ring of lights suddenly turned on to glow in a circle around you as you began to move, highlighting you as the sun set behind you, casting dramatic shadows over you.
“How do you fall in love?~ Harder than a bullet could hit ya?~ How do we fall apart?~ Faster than a hairpin trigger~”
The Huntr/x girls and the Saja Boys were grinning like loons, standing on a bench and the concrete ledge behind it so they could see over all the people gathering around you.
“Don't you say, don't you say it~ Don't say, don't you say it~ One breath, it'll just break it~ So shut your mouth and run me like a river~”
As the chorus dropped, you moved more, the choreography hitting harder and sharper as you swung your hair and moved your body to the beat of the song. This was it. This was what you’ve wanted since you were little. Just to perform in front of people.
“Shut your mouth, baby, stand and deliver~ Holy hands, will it make me a sinner?~ Like a river, like a river~ Shut your mouth and run me like a river~ Choke this love 'til the veins start to shiver~ One last breath 'til the tears start to wither~ Like a river, like a river~ Shut your mouth and run me like a river~”
The boys couldn’t help but fanboy at how hot their girlfriend was. Cheering as your voice sang out around them, their eyes locked on your figure as you hit the beat with the accuracy of a seasoned idol. Jinu almost fainted when you shot a smirk and a sultry wink their way.
“Tales of an endless heart~ Cursed is the fool who's willing~ Can't change the way we are~ One kiss away from killing~”
The girls were cheering for you just as enthusiastically. Mira whistled at you when she caught your eye and you couldn’t help the little quirk of your lips in your amusement. Zoey was waving her arms around wildly to the beat, bobbing her head back and forth. Rumi was cheering for you so loud that you could hear it over the sound in your earpiece.
“Don't you say, don't you say it~ Don't say, don't you say it~ One breath, it'll just break it~ So shut your mouth and run me like a river~”
You couldn’t help the fierce grin that spread across your lips as the chorus circled back around. The energy you fed off of the crowd fueled you, making you hit the choreography all that much harder, singing that much rawer.
The bridge kicked off and the crowd screamed in excitement when water suddenly shot up around you and behind you in the river, soaking you as droplets flew around you. You stomped and clapped, splashing in the puddles forming around you. The boys felt like drowning in their drool. Forget a succubus, you were their siren and they were your hopeless sailors.
“Shut your mouth, baby, stand and deliver (Like a river, like a river)~ Holy hands, will it make me a sinner? (Like a river, like a river)~ Like a river, like a river~ Shut your mouth and run me like a river~ Choke this love 'til the veins start to shiver (Like a river, like a river)~ One last breath 'til the tears start to wither (Like a river, like a river)~ Like a river, like a river~ Shut your mouth and run me like a river~”
You panted as you struck your final pose, the crowd roaring around you. Your breathing was heavy as you grinned at everyone, bowing appreciatively with a breathless laugh.
“Wooo! (Y/n)!”
“We love you!”
“We’re so proud of youuuu!”
“You did so good!”
“It was so hot!”
“You nailed it!”
“Wooo! That’s my sister!”
“Rumi!”
“Yeah! That’s our girlfriend!”
“Jinu!”
You couldn’t help but laugh and shake your head as you saw your eight idiots over the crowd. They were waving banners with your name on it and light sticks like obsessive fans. None of them knew how to be discrete.
You just waved to the crowd, trying not to draw any more attention to your idiots. “Thank you everybody, thank you so much! Look for ‘River’ wherever you stream your music, out now! I’ll see you all soon!”
Then you jumped backwards, water shooting up one last time as you used your demon magic to teleport away so it looked like you disappeared into the splashing water. You appeared just around the corner from the tech tent, coming around just as Bobby was coming out with a towel, wrapping it around you.
“(Y/n), that was amazing! Everything was perfectly on point, the crowd loved it! And that magician trick you did at the end was iconic!” Bobby praised you as you tried to dry your hair a little. “Social media is already blowing up, ‘River’ already has dozens of streams. We just launched ‘Play With Fire’ too. When do you wanna launch the MV?”
You chuckled at the barrage of information from the excited man, “Thanks Bobby. I’ll probably launch it after the footage of ‘River.’ Is production already editing it together?”
“Yup. It’ll be sent to you for final say and then you can post it whenever you want. You still wanna make an official MV for ‘River’ too right?” Bobby tapped away at his phone.
“Yeah, I already have the concept in my head. I’ll talk to the production team tomorrow.”
“Good. In the morning you have an interview with Minami Kim for E! Entertainment and you have a short appearance for that variety show in two hours.”
“Okay, thanks Bobby, I’ll head over as soon as I’m done with my idiots, “ You rolled your eyes jokingly, the two of you chuckling as Bobby went off to arrange for a car to take you to the set of the variety show.
“Good luck with them!”
“(Y/n)!”
You flailed, yelping inelegantly as you were suddenly tackled by several people. And now you were on the ground.
“(Y/n) you did so good!”
“That was amazing!”
“You hit that choreo so. Hard!”
“A siren.”
“You almost killed me with how perfect you were!”
“Congrats on your official debut.”
“The water was such a perfect touch to the performance!”
“Mother was mothering.”
You laughed at the rush of compliments and congratulations, patting heads and stroking cheeks as you tried to get them all off of you. “Thank you, thank you guys. Now can I please stand up?”
You all stood and you crossed your arms, raising an eyebrow at them jokingly, “What part of ‘disguise’ made you guys think you should make banners and draw attention to yourselves like that?”
They shuffled sheepishly, grinning awkwardly as they rubbed the napes of their necks, fiddled with their hair, rubbed their arms, scratched their cheek, and played with their fingers. “Well, we wanted to support you…” Rumi shrugged sheepishly.
You could already imagine the TikToks of the eight that would be going viral as you speak.
You just shook your head though, throwing your arms open to hug them, “Oh, I love you guys so much.”
“We love you too.”
Tumblr media

*Arts and Crafts*
Kwan: “Someone pass the glitter glue.”
Hyeon: *paper glued to his face somehow* “Is (Y/n)’s name big enough…?”
Mira: “My handwriting is too fucking messy for this…”
Jinu: *carefully painting a little Derpy on his banner for you*
Chungae: *murmuring to himself* “This doesn’t have anywhere near enough hearts on this…”
Zoey: *looking at her rainbow, glitter banner with deep consideration* “Hmmmm… Could be gayer.”
Jum: *peacefully making a banner worthy of being hung in a palace out of glitter, crayola paint, and cut out paper*
Rumi: *distracted by peeling dried glue off of her fingers*
You: “So what’re we watching tonight?”
The Saja Simps: “A compilation of thirst trap edits of you and your music videos.”
You: “Oh…”

HUNTRX Appreciation Post
I love how Zoey is so passionate and herself around Mira and Rumi. She couldn't find a place where she belonged while living in America nor in South Korea, but with the girls, she's herself. She doesn't have to hide who she is, she can express herself openly and she isn't judged. She feels seen, she feels supported, she feels loved. Zoey is a people pleaser because she's always wanted to fit in. She didn't press on the issue about Rumi hiding something because she knew that Mira was already on her about that and she probably didn't want to make her seem too ganged up on. The line where she goes "You know I'm always on your side, but it's hard to understand this time" hits hard because she didn't want to look like she picked sides. Zoey wanted to be neutral while also completely agreeing with Mira that Rumi was probably hiding something. I love her because I can relate to that; wanting people to like me, wanting to fit in, too scared to "pick sides" because I don't want to raise more tension. Zoey is a dedicated friend and just wants to fit in somewhere. HUNTRX is probably the first group she ever found her place.
I adore Mira for how much she cares. On the surface she's this nonchalant, stone-faced person who speaks in this monotone voice all the time. Except, that's not who Mira is. She cares a lot about her found family. She was the black sheep (for whatever reason) of her family, so once she found Zoey and Rumi, she probably felt like she finally found a family. I totally understand why she was pressing so hard on Rumi to open up because she didn't want to lose a family. HNTRX is Mira's family, she didn't want to lose probably the only closest relationship she's had. Mira is passionate about keeping the group together, so much so, that she probably thinks that she has to be the glue. Once she realized that Rumi had these walls up, alarm bells probably went up because she was concerned and just wanted to be there for her. Mira cares a lot, enough to try and see things for what they are and try and create a space where someone can open up. All she wants is a family where she belongs.
As for Rumi, she wanted acceptance while being under all of that pressure. Imagine being a part of the biggest girl group (in the world, I think?) and tasked with literally saving the world from demons by trapping them away forever. Celine, who raised her, taught Rumi that she should be ashamed of her patterns and that once her duty is done, she can be free of that shame. Rumi was so convinced that no one would love or accept all of her so she had to bottle that up for years. Of course she didn't want to open up about that to even her closest friends. She was scared. All her life was probably lived in fear ,and possibly resentment, towards the whole world and even Celine. But, mostly herself. Rumi just wanted someone to see her for who she was and not reject her or try to kill her. Of course she would start to trust Jinu, besides his lie about his story, he showed her a different side of demons. She was probably curious. She was taught to hate demons and therefore hate herself. Rumi meeting Jinu was the best thing for her because she learned that demons do feel, demons aren't emotionless monsters. It probably healed something in her to know that she isn't inherently evil just because she's half demon. What a huge relief it was for Rumi to finally just be open and wall-less with Zoey and Mira at the end of the movie. When she could go to the bathhouse or even have the same dressing room with them. She finally has no more walls. Rumi just wanted acceptance and reassurance. (I'm curious what Celine thinks of her after the events of the movie. Is she scared? mad? that's a rant for another post).
Of course I can't leave Bobby out of this post. That man is like a supportive father for these women. He was so ready to "break the bank" to give them the best staycation in the country (despite these women literally having the most luxurious tower around). Bobby watches them perform with a smile and is willing to do anything for them. He doesn't just view this group as "his talent" but he adores them as if they were his daughters. He loves them dearly. He felt like it was his duty to keep them together, so he made sure they felt supported and guided. Right before the train scene when Bobby was all like "I got a few pick-me-ups... I know the last few weeks have been tough but I just wanted to let you girls know that I'm here if you need anything..." just the way he talks is so open and loving. This man would do anything for them and his appreciation isn't overlooked. Because Bobby treats Mira, Rumi, and Zoey with respect and care, they're genuinely excited to talk and interact with him. He has matching "Golden" jackets with them (I wouldn't be surprised if the girls insisted that he matches with them). Mira and Zoey ran the second they thought Bobby was in trouble, not only because he himself counts as a fan, but because they care for Bobby as their manager and friend.

TMF Headcanons!
TW: mentions of death, suicide, eating disorders
Jake Sterling
Tumblr media
Jake can speak French.
Jake has ADHD and major depressive disorder.
Jake’s dad died on a cruise ship he and the family went on when he was very VERY young(before Milo was born). He barely remembers his dad while Milo straight up doesn’t even know he had one. Jake is also lying to Milo saying their dad walked out on them.
Jake has ailurophobia which is why he got a dog instead of a cat.
Jake is bisexual.
Hailey Austin
Tumblr media
Hailey’s mom died in a car crash.
Hailey was also apprehensive to call Shannon her mom as she had a very close relationship with her biological mother. Also her mother’s name is Olivia.
Hailey loves learning about jewels and rocks and her favorite is the obsidian.
When the club has sleepovers, they ALWAYS have it at her house.
Olivia used to call Hailey her star and the star clip Hailey has was her mom’s birthday gift before she died.
Zander Wickham
Zander is lactose intolerant.
Zander hates being called Alex not for any traumatic reason, he just finds it annoying.
Might be canon already but Zander doesn’t consider Michael his dad because he doesn’t trust him. He still holds resentment of his biological father and is extremely paranoid that Michael will hurt Shannon in some way. Also Zander’s biological dad’s name is Vincent.
Out of all the club members, Zander was probably the one who hurt the most from the betrayal in episode 9. (Hailey is a close second though) the reason for this is because he grew to finally trust Jake and he had his heart shattered. Not only does he hate Jake for the betrayal(and hates himself to an extent for trusting him), but the truth was he actually DIDN’T see it coming. He’s just pretending like he “always knew this would happen” to soften the blow, but he didn’t know. And he hates that he didn’t know.
Zander only comes to Jake’s house to see Oreo.
Zander is a massive theatre kid who loves Heathers and Hamilton.
Zander struggles with severe depression and suicidal thoughts. He attempted twice, and Hailey only knows about the second attempt.
Luke Peterson
Tumblr media
Luke is a very sheltered kid with very religious parents who taught him that being anything other than a masculine cis straight man was something to be ashamed of. (This is totally not projection wdym lol)
Luke is a severe people pleaser who struggles with saying no.
Luke has a younger sister named Autumn who’s very sick and his parents are often busy so he takes care of her himself.
Luke absolutely hates being the peacemaker but doesn’t tell anyone because he doesn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.
Milly Brooks
Milly has a German Shepherd named Crimson.
Milly is a HUGE MLP fan and Rainbow Dash was her favorite character as a kid. She still has all her rainbow merch.
Milly just considers herself queer.
Sean Everett
Sean was randomly interested in astrology when he was in middle school for no reason.
Sean loves watching Pixar movies with Milly when the club has sleepovers.
Sean has Twilight Sparkle PJs and occasionally wears them.
Sean is panromantic, non binary, and demisexual
Drew Alonso
Since it’s canon that the Jomies(or at least Drew and Jake) play Genshin, Drew is a diehard Diluc main (and simp) and Henry used it as blackmail once
Drew sometimes worries people only like him for his money. His worries increased after he broke up with Zoey.
Drew had a crush on Jake in sophomore year but never told him. Dating Zoey was also how he tried to suppress them.
Similar to Luke, he was taught that being queer was shameful. Unlike Luke, this isn’t because his parents were religious and thought being gay was a sin or something, it was because his dad thought a queer son would make him and his company look weak.
His parents are vehemently homophobic.
Drew has an older sister who he is regularly compared to.
Drew is a closeted bisexual.
Liam Jones
Liam envies Jake because he found a group of people who accept him for his weirdness(the music club) but Liam doesn’t really have anyone apart from Henry.
Liam actually has a crush on Henry but because he wants to seem like a cool manly man in front of Drew and the others, he suppresses it.
Liam is jealous of Henry because he’s able to be himself without being ashamed.
Liam is closeted and gay.
Henry Clarke
Henry is actually very observant and perceptive and he plays dumb to throw people off his trail
Henry is VERY insecure about his height but plays it off as a joke
Henry suffered with anorexia for years and is only starting to get better (this is full on projection here)
Henry is by NO means shy about his hyperfixations.
Henry has AuDHD.
Henry loves MHA because he thinks Izuku is the guy who Henry wishes he was.
Henry had a terrier named Bob and it got hit by a car and died when he was 14
Henry is VERY OPENLY bisexual.
Zoey Moreau
Zoey used to like anime but she was taught by her mom that liking childish things was bad so she buried it for years to the point where she lost them/forgot about them. Had she not buried her interests she likely would’ve been friends with Henry(at least closer than canon)
Zoey’s mom is a horrible person who taught her how to be a horrible person for money. She doesn’t like Drew or her “sugar daddy”, as she was forced into being with Drew. Idk where the other dude came from.
Zoey is a closeted lesbian.
Lia Bettencourt
Lia has a pet ferret named Jackson and Henry is terrified of him.
Lia straightened her hair because she believed that it would make her fit in with Zoey and the other girls. After she left Zoey’s friend group, she decided to stop straightening it and got new braids for the new semester.
Lia is aroace.
Maria Wilde
Maria actually wanted to be Zoey’s second in command for a while and was just waiting for Lia to leave/get kicked out of the friend group.
Most people don’t talk to Maria apart from when she’s with Zoey, so Maria likes to be with Zoey as MUCH as possible.
Maria is a straight ally.
Daisy Evans
Tumblr media
Daisy’s self defense lessons were actually for her anger management because she used to have a REALLY bad temper when she was a kid. It lessened a bit in middle school and she fully got it under control by high school, but she still struggles with it.
Daisy’s favorite flower is a Venus flytrap but she tells everyone it’s daisies. Sean is the only one who knows the truth.
Daisy is lesbian.
Stacy Walker
Stacy is a nervous wreck around people she likes, romantically or platonically.
Stacy is a hopeless romantic.
Stacy went to Paris once over the summer and made it her entire personality the following school year.
Stacy is a straight ally.
Elliot Thornton
Tumblr media
Elliot’s parents are out of town most of the time, leaving him by himself.
Elliot is a massive people pleaser.
Elliot has autism and anxiety.
Elliot is pansexual.
Sadie Williams
Tumblr media
Sadie hates her eyes and voice because everyone mocked her when she was a kid and called her “Scary Sadie, so when Daisy finally admitted she never found Sadie creepy or scary, she was so happy
Sadie is lesbian and closeted.
Sadie is a very vindictive person, but is very silent as well.

Okay so I’m a big a fan of Pan/Bi!Pim as anyone else and I ain’t denying that he could be Mspec… BUT what if I told you that his fantasy of settling down with a woman was a way of heavily suppressing what, or rather, who he really wants in life? Because like we only saw Pim dreaming about having a wife twice in this show and as it continues, he doesn’t particularly seem to be as motivated in finding a girl in particular as he is getting closer and cuddlier with Charlie. What if he really wants to settle down and start a family with another man but is too afraid to come out and worries what his friends think because they have girlfriends (although I’m pretty sure Alan’s situation was a one-time blind date because we never see her again). Pim doesn’t like interacting with Zoey out of envious resent, like in the S2 finale he could have been petty enough to persuade Zoey in playing on the other side to have Charlie (plus Rotten) all to himself, either that or Zoey got sick of Charlie’s shit and is now in a polycule with Glep and Marge just to spite him.
On a side note, while Charlie is his big-fish-to-fry, Pim also seems to be a wee bit more affectionate towards men then women, like he gave a kiss to Desmond and Century Egg but never to any women on the show.

old dreamchaser(+nk/migo ) headcanons because s3 made me not ok about them
Lunia taught Oz how to cook paella because she didnt want him to keep eating bad food
Albert was always there to watch when lunia and oz were flirting ( he would never admit they were almost made for eachother)
Hannah used to play at multiple gigs at bars so beau and oz were also there to support her
^beau and oz also support Zoey with just as much energy whenever she plays
Hannah and Lunia were gossip girlies
^Lunia would often talk about the struggles of raising a creature with her even if hannah had no idea who she was talking about, but she sympathized with it more when she had zoey
Beau sometimes stayed at oz's place for advice
Lunia (in beaus opinion) has always been a MUCH more capable leader than oz will ever be and has 100% said that as a taunt when he went evil
When beau became the night hunter and betrayed the night bureau, oz always thought there was some good still left in him (despite albert thinking hes gone full evil) because he always thought of him and hannah as very capable teammates but still holds tons of venom and resentment towards eachother for what happened
Beau and hannah have always tried to update oz after they got married and had a kid, but oz was always so absorbed in night bureau work/trying to find recruits/lunia that he couldnt keep up, and compleatley stopped reaching out after the divorce
When the nightmare king found out that hannah and beau were divorced ( when he started working for him) nk would always taunt beau either by just being an asshole or full-on shaleshifting into a twisted version of her while threatening to use her against him
^He did it to project his fear of abandonment/being forgotten cause hes an asshole and still secretly hurt for what lunia did even if he is and convinced himself seperate of migo
Night hunter looks homophobic but is actually just a bisexual previously in denial and nightmare king looks gay but is the most flamboyant bitchy homophobic guy
Oz attended multiple pride parades and protests in the 90's ( hes pan trust)
Hannah was a huge archeology and history nerd and always hoped of having fossils in her house to share with zoey
Anddd beau did magic tricks and performances to try and impress hannah, but it ways always the dedication and charm he had rather than the actual performance that made her fall for him a bit

My Takes On Total Drama All-Stars (PART ONE <3)
Hello everyone!! (This is my first post on tumblr, how do i do this) I've been rewatching All-Stars recently and it had so much potential to be one of the best seasons of Total Drama. But as the story goes, it wasexecuted horribly, the pacing sucked, everyone was so ooc it hurt, everything about Courtney, Mike's whole plot. I could go on. Sooo, I rewrote some of the plots to, well, not ruin every single character included in the season.
Here are some things I would've changed about TDAS! <3 (spoliers, duh)
Remove Sam and Sierra from the season all together, Sam by all means is NOT an All-Star, I would've personally replaced him with Brick simply because, Brick was a powerhouse in a lot of the challenges during his time on ROTI, plus, his elimination was just one of the worst ones of the season. I would've replaced Sierra with Beth or Owen (Remind you, are both canonical winners). While Sierra did make it pretty far in her introduction season, she's by-far one of the most blandest characters, (especially without Cody), her whole thing with Cameron was not needed and felt extremely out-of-place. Sierra wasn't needed this season, she's borderline a horrible character, and she just isn't fun to watch without Cody (Even then, it's still extremely uncomfortable),
The whole Mal thing was extremely weird, in hindsight, it could've been super cool to watch, if the characters weren't completely dumbed down to make him even be remotely unsettling. They could've explained his motivations wayyyy better, personally, I like the idea that Mal was a defense mechanism that was created while Mike was in juvie (A plot point in the story that came out of nowhere). It also would've been better if they actually made him a character outside of "Mike's Evil Alter," He could've had a soft-spot for Zoey, making it so he would rig the game, cheat, do actually villainous things just to keep her in the game. He could've actually had motivations and a plan besides "Maybe I can break things." Like every other thing in this season he was just wasted potential.
AND, on the topic of Mike. They maybe could've actually made him a good rep for DID, the ending could've been him realizing that he doesn't need to resent his alters or do something like final fusion, it seemed like the wanted to go somewhere with that in the canon ending, but the fact it just came down to a reset button just seemed extremely, well, weird. Mike was an odd character this season, I think that it would've just been better to make him an early-merge boot. (Hii everyone. I AM NOT a certified psychologist, I am not a professional when it comes to DID. Please reach out if you have DID or are experienced with it because I want to be able to write Mike and his alters without offending anyone, hurting anyone, and by staying true to facts. I did quite a bit of research about DID but once again, I am not a professional and the last thing I want to do is spread misinformation about anything.)
Duncan, oh, Duncan. I saw something about how his little side-plot of him going soft should've been given to Heather. And I could not agree more. Duncan should've had a way earlier boot. I honestly only liked Duncan in Action and Island (mainly because Courtney), he just isn't a good character past World Tour. His breakup with Gwen was so underwhelming, buildup for about 4ish seasons ended with the most simple breakup ever. Personally if I had to choose I would've had Gwen end up with Trent. Gwuncan was bound to fail. They don't have anything in common besides being like a little brooding and wearing black.
On the somewhat topic of Heather. I really do think they should've just given Duncan's plot to Heather. It would've been so much more fun to watch if Heather was still trying to one up Alejandro while thinking she's loosing her edge. I also just loved Heather this season even if she got out way too early. Moonlight Madness was one of my favorite episodes for a reason, her pretending to be affected by the moon was the most in-character thing for her to do this season. It would've been fun for Alejandro and Heather to team up and screw everyone else but alas we can't be happy. I also think Heather leaving the totem is so ooc, she is not the same diva that got like half the cast eliminated in island. She's just so backgroundish this season besides in Moonlight Madness, she doesn't really have a plan, and she just seems completely off her game during All-Stars. She were cute in the finale though.
UHM, I wish they didn't destroy Courtneys character. In my ideal world Courtney would've made it to the finale. She honestly deserves it, also, SCOTTNEY. I love Scottney very very much, they were both screwed over, they are both hated, and they both don't have that many allies. Sure they were very random but just watching them felt so refreshing, I wished they didn't fall in love over the course of three episodes and that it was hinted at earlier in the season, (This probably wouldn't have been a problem if they just gave us 26 episodes instead of 13 All-Star Episodes and 13 P*hkit*w Island episodes) Scottney's dynamic as a whole just felt so much like season one Duncney. I also think that Courntey being a main antag would've been way better than Mal, she only got a few episodes in the limelight during Action, (Where she was the main antag that season). Scottney just should've been endgame imo. Courtney's list is so random, worst plot point ever, it came out of nowhere and could've been handled so much better.
So just to sum up this part, I wish they actually focused more on the characters instead of just rewriting all of them to have seven braincells combined to make Mal more unsettling. They could've had a fun season 1 vs season 2 character finale but they decided not to so they could have basically the same ending. Courtney and Zoey would've been fun to watch in the finale. Overall, no one has any motivations, everyone is just dumbed down to their stereotype or the complete opposite of it, (Courtney being soo type A to the point she makes a drawing of who she wants to eliminate, or Duncan just being a try-hard, when the reason he was liked as a character was because he just didn't care.)
I WILL be rewriting all of All-stars at some point just because I can't settle for the ending we got. Please do reach out if any of you guys have any tips for writing the characters, or just ideas in general, I love hearing what others have to say!
(this wasn't beta read i got too tired :( )

officially introducing: zoey yang ( westernised ) / yang zoey ( traditionally written ), from the netflix's movie kpop demon hunter. zoey is a korean-american born and the the main rapper, lyricist and maknae of the popular idol girl group, HUNTR/X, doubling as a demon-hunter who wields twin shin‑kal throwing knives in combat. she is primarily canon-compliant, with loads of headcanon to support her backstory. lowkey a test-muse turning permanent.
some notes of interpretation,
zoey's parents: zoey's parents met in korea during their last years in university, with her father being a korean-american and her mother being born and raised in korea. having gotten pregnant unexpectedly, they've rushed into the marriage, and zoey's father had offered zoey's mother to move to america with him to avoid the discrimination and pressure she felt from her traditional family, despite the fact that zoey's mother had not been fully confident in the decision.
zoey's birth: as such, zoey was born in america, which was why her registered birth name had been zoey yang. she was predominantly raised alongside the support of her paternal grandparents' when her own young parents were still trying to figure out to make their marriage life work. eventually, due to zoey's biological mother's conflict with her in-laws, zoey and her parents moved to burbank a few months just before she turned three.
growing up: zoey's mother could never quite fit well with the "american life" and was often homesick. she tried working here and there, but nothing worked long-term due to the cultural differences and zoey's mother's own impatience, even though she'd come around to confess that she did not want to be a stay-at-home mother, which zoey's father initially supported. their relationship further strained when it was clear that zoey's mother's resentment only grew over time and zoey's father often reacted poorly to her frustration. by the age of five, zoey was used to hearing them fight through the dry wall.
the divorce: zoey's parents eventually got divorced when she was seven years old and her mother flew to korea almost instantly. the decision for zoey's father to have full custody of her was attributed to the fact that zoey's father had more stable income and that zoey had grown up primarily in america until then; the mother didn't argue. neither did zoey, even if, in truth, she wasn't really close to her appa either.
appa remarried: when zoey was nine, her appa remarried to a woman named linda, who is a mixed chinese-korean american. and though zoey was very nervous of the arrangement, she and linda got incredibly close. linda has a background in linguistic, and was the one to encourage zoey to write her thoughts down in both writings and music. that's when her talents truly flourish. zoey's younger brothers, a pair of twins, were born when she was eleven years old.
the decision to become an idol: when zoey was around thirteen to fourteen years old, she decided to visit her mother on her own in an effort to bond with her ( she'd come to korea a few times up to this point, but it was never as long, and her appa and linda would always come to visit korea too ) and it is this during this visit that she learned about possibly being an idol from a cousin. while there had been some initial arguments from her dad and linda, eventually they've allowed to let her go to korea at aged sixteen for an audition — by some miraculous luck, she was accepted in.
meeting mira and rumi: she was a trainee around a year or two, and had been shuffled in a few potential girl groups up until celine came and recruited zoey herself after finding her writing down songs after songs. i leave these details fairly vague so it could fit others' huntr/x's members' interpretation, but yes, soon after, she met rumi and mira and they became an instant match. it is with the three of them that the honmoon appears to solidify, and when zoey's ability to see demons are activated.
zoey's age: given the fact we've never been clarified their ages, i do like to think that zoey is still in her early to mid-twenties, and she might only be two or three years younger than mira and rumi are — of course, this applies only if the other two girls are the same age. again, these details are highly flexible.
musical instruments: zoey has a personal attachment to the piano because it's something, in her childhood, she remembers her eomma would spend time sitting next to her and admiring her talent for. this translates to playing the keyboards, and zoey can and has played the guitar. she's also taught herself to use MIDI pad and drum machines. she both produces half of HUNTR/X's songs and composes much of the lyrics, alongside their professional producer, ho-joon sunbae.
shipping: she's bisexual as fuck, and yes, very much open to shipping.

ok chat time for me to post a WORSE take. i think that, while mal did NOT help because come on thats MAL we are talking about, mike landed himself in juvie after he fought some older kids trying to jump another kid but he does not remember that (especially since getting sent to juvie was so bad for him that mal had to take over as the system host for the time period) and just assumes it was mal because mal is supposed to be the 'troublemaker'.
in general i like to think that mal and mike resent each other for the traits they repress in themselves. but thats just me and my love for narrative foils and whats better for that than two persecutory alters that have different reasons for what they do
~ 🌙
Ooh no this isn’t a bad take at all it’s a really cool one!!!! I don’t personally have a headcanon for why they got sent to juvie or even who ‘caused’ it, I keep changing my mind on it. Sometimes I wanna go genuine and angsty with it, but also I joked with an IRL friend once that Mal got them sent to juvie for something stupid like vandalism. I also cannot for the LIFE of me remember where I saw this headcanon this is NOT mine, but someone else suggested that Duncan and Mal actually met in some sort of inpatient psychiatric facility and are both lying about it because juvie sounds “better” to them
I love love love Mike and Mal as parallels but also I think they’re such obvious parallels and I like finding parallels that are less obvious. Like how Zoey initially had the urge to sacrifice Cameron to win the million in ROTI (so many people forget this!!!!!) but fought against that urge because Cameron was her friend, vs. Mal who has no connection to Cameron and in general things friendships and even alliances are only points of weakness and actually DOES sacrifice Cameron one season later. Is that a parallel? Idk. I’m not saying friendship could’ve saved Mal but I’m fascinated by the fucked-up way Mal seems to view interpersonal relationships. And also fascinated by the fact Zoey would feel the urge to sacrifice her friend to a man-eating plant. what was I talking about again

30. Revealed, by PC and Kristin Cast
Tumblr media
Owned: No, library Page count: 306 My summary: Neferet has been exposed. Disgraced, abandoned even by Darkness, she flies to safety under a tree to regroup and rethink. Meanwhile, Zoey and her friends have problems of their own. After the shocking death of their friend Erin, splinters have formed - can Zoey and her friends accept more red fledgelings coming to the Light? And Aurox is becoming more like Heath, causing Stark's possessiveness to go into overdrive. Zoey's got a lot on her plate… My rating: 1/5 My commentary:
So! Close! To! The! End! The last book is on its way to the library, but it's coming from outside my county so it's probably gonna take a while. Which means both I and you will have a break from it for a bit, thankfully. The penultimate book in the House of Night series. It's all coming to a dramatic climax, you guys! By which I mean more teenage angst, more circling around the same five plot points, and more dumb bullshit drama for no reason. As is the trademark of this series. So, without any further ado, let's get into…all of that.
First off, this book comes with a helping of Neferet's backstory. And it's stupid as hell! See, apparently Neferet was abused by her father as a child before being Marked. This is all kind of glossed over in a few paragraphs, no need to focus on it. Because the real pain for her came from when her cat died. She prayed to Nyx to save the cat, and Nyx gave her the ability to soothe pain…but the cat still died. And that was Neferet's start of darkness. Because God didn't save her cat. She then goes on to be a slutty slut slutterson, getting with different creepy guys for no particular reason other than to feel power. One of whom is a vamp Warrior who, like, is a masochist - literally, sexually - and that's both his whole characterisation and a bad thing for some reason? Because he's into being hurt? And then she drives one of her would-be suitors to off himself, because he annoyed her? For a subplot that should exist to make Neferet less one-dimensional, it's really not succeeding. She's just an oversexualised villain, at the end of the day. And seriously, girl, why was the cat the breaking point here?
Zoey's anger issues are a large part of the plot here, especially the later plot, but as usual they are not really handled well at all. The idea is that Zoey is getting angrier and more influenced by Old Magjyk (ugh) and will eventually end up doing something bad that she can't come back from. Aphrodite sees this in a vision and, despite her entire characterisation being 'blunt bitch mean girl who is reluctantly on the side of Good', doesn't say anything about it and instead recruits Shaylin to stalk her for a bit and spy on her magical aura in both an underhanded and unsubtle way which just makes the situation worse. Once again, characters picking up the idiot ball for drama. And the explosion comes with Zoey accidentally using her Seer Stone to kill two homeless guys in a park, which…one, I feel like if it's accidental it kind of negates the idea of it being a facet of Zoey's character if it was an unintended magical side-effect. Two, we've literally had this plot point before when Zoey smashed a car into some guys, and she didn't face any real consequences then? And three, it comes pretty much out of nowhere - there is a build with Zoey becoming more pissed off with everything around her, but it's not that unreasonable a reaction to her environment and the things that are happening to her. Once again, a minor character trait is introduced as a massive flaw just to give the characters some extra drama.
One big thing that Zoey et al keeps going on about with Thanatos is that 'We're not bickering kids!' - she wants herself and her friends to be taken seriously as adults and as sensible people, and resents being infantilised. The problem is that Zoey and her friends are just acting like bickering children constantly. They care more about their interpersonal issues than anything more important. They bitch and moan at each other constantly. They deal with everything like a stereotypical teenager from a mean girl Disney Channel movie. It's so obviously meant to be a 'don't underestimate teens!' style power fantasy, but the kids aren't being smart about anything they do. That kind of power fantasy only works if the teens do have a point and are being talked down to by the adults in their lives! Not if the adults are being pretty reasonable and the teens are making everything worse!
Stark's possessiveness rears its head here - by which I mean, shows up again because we gotta have a love triangle. Man, one of the very few things I was going to give to this series was that it seemed to have dropped the love triangle bullshit in the later books but nope, here it is again, this time between Stark and Aurox. Which is dumb for several reasons, mostly that Zoey doesn't consciously want to be with Aurox, she's just got the spiritual hots for him because he's Heath and soulmates are a thing apparently. And Stark is pissed, despite the fact that Zoey is trying to talk to him about it and trying to open communication about it and trying to work through it, and Stark is just doing the caveman NO ME ANNOYED thing, and it's exactly the goddamn same as every fucking time that a love triangle has shown up in this series. Exactly the same! It wasn't even interesting the first time!
And finally - hey, remember how there's been this whole thing about Erin going over to the bad guys for no real reason and none of her so-called friends seem to care about her? Yeah, so she dies at the start of this one. Just, boom! Neferet ghosts through her and she dies. And the gang get over it pretty damn easy. Shaunee is the only one who actually seems to give a fuck. Meanwhile, her replacement is coming in with the form of red fledgeling Nicole, who wants to come over to the good guys also for no stated reason. And she kisses Shaylin, I guess? Just as I was about to criticise the series for not realising lesbians are real. Still, this is a penultimate-book romance between two incredibly minor characters - if you were going to add lesbians, why not have Stevie Rae and Aphrodite be a thing around when they were Imprinted, or have like Erin and Shaunee get together or something? Not these two girls who got introduced very last-minute who I don't care about and have no connection to.
Next, something thankfully different - a trip to the North Pole.

Tell us about your OCs please 🥺? Who was last on your mind?
omfg ive been thinking about zoey and antares and. the other two i dont have a name for and how much i like their dynamic... theyre all such losers and deadbeats and the only thing driving them forward is the ties they have to each other but they dont like each other <3
zoey is investigating the death of her twin brother after years of being no contact with her family because she feels its the only way to make up for essentially abandoning him and feeling as if his death was her fault (no matter if this is true or not) and she cannot do this without the aid of the other three. while she resents the position she is being forced into by them
antares (i need to rename them tbhhhh) was zoeys brothers guardian angel- his death happening under their watch got them kicked out of heaven. theyve deluded themselves into thinking that, since they were twins, zoey taking his place will regain their favour and restore their place in the heavens
the... other guy (im so bad with names i never got to these two okay) has the extremely unlucky trait of attracting the supernatural but being terrified of anything and everything to do with it. he was a witness to some extent to what happened to zoeys brother- he was there, and saw who was there when it happened, but didnt witness what actually happened. zoey will NOT let him alone until she knows what happened, and figures his ability to attract the supernatural will be their best bet in finding out. he also believes antares is the only one who can protect him and refuses to leave their side
the demon is... well a demon of some sort. idk. it was seen by the other guy at the time of zoeys brothers death and claims to know what happened, but refuses to tell the others. antares basically has it captive and they are offering its freedom (from the earth, not from their captivity) in exchange for it leading the others to important clues and scenes wrt his death. i havent really hammered out [any] of the details to do with that so that all sounds vague sorry but the character dynamics + ties r something i am relatively sure of atp

Still in the middle of D3 so no spoilers please!
Edit: I've finished D3, spoilers okay now lol
--
I dont usually make up family headcanons with same-age characters (it leaves myself more room for shipping) but for some reason I came up with three of them here. Okay I just realized the first one theyre not same age but, uh, anyway!
Ryoma is Hiyoko's uncle. I dont have much of an explanation for this. At first I thought it would be a funny idea if Ryoma was Hiyoko's dad but then I realized that Hiyoko's dad goes to all her dance recitals while Ryoma's been in jail for a while, so that makes it kind of impossible. Just a silly idea.
Kazuichi is Kaito's younger cousin (idk what the timeline is for D3 compared to the other games yet, and I know often times this class is headcanoned as younger than the D2 class, but this is all in an au anyway). They're same-voice actor cousins. Kaito gave Kazuichi the idea to build a rocket engine, maybe they watched alien movies together when they were little. Kaito hasn't seen Kazuichi since she was still in her booknerd phase, so Kaito would laugh a lot if you told him that his nervous, fidgety cousin went through a "scary punk phase." Have an idea for a short fanfic where he calls and says he's coming to visit her again and she's mid-transition at this point and unsure about coming out to him - I think he'd be cool with it. He'd possibly confuse trans with drag at first but he would be supportive and say that he's glad to see Kazuichi gain some confidence and self-esteem "even if you're still a bit fidgety" (Kaito that's not from being afraid that's just the adhd). Also Kaito and Zoey get along alright.
Nagito is Kokichi's older brother. (potential ableism trigger warning, also a warning for that sibling dynamic where one kid is neglected for the sick/disabled kid). There's angst potential as well as funny potential. This is more subject to change since there's a lot I still dont know about Kokichi, but from what I can tell he's a manipulative liar always making scenes to get attention and even though some of the fandom says he is "a normal person faking mental illness," I dont buy it. Maybe he's faking something, but he definitely has something too. Not sure if this is a controversial opinion, but I believe that people who fake mental illnesses (to this degree at least) are not neurotypical, it's a cry for help and they do need something, so they shouldn't be brushed off as just "ableist assholes" because there is something going on, though on the flip side it is not the job of other mentally ill people to coddle their feelings when that person is being ableist.
I think Kokichi also went through some trauma, like something happened with his family that made him have to attend court sessions (he said in the first trial that he had to go to trials all the time a long time ago "for his crimes as an Ultimate Supreme Leader" but I think that's Kokichi-talk for "he was a little kid and had to sit in trials for some family drama and the adults constantly blamed him for problems that weren't his fault," which is why he plays up this sort of misbehaving bad kid role). Anyway, my ansty hcs is that Kokichi was neglected because his parents focused on Nagito's illnesses, and that's part of why he acts up to get attention. He has some resentment for that but blames his parents more than Nagito and he and Nagito have the type of sibling relationship where they're sometimes on good terms and sometimes can't stand each other. They've thrown some shade at each other but Kokichi really knows how to piss off Nagito and is not afraid to bring up "hope" to mess with his head (though if anyone else did this they would suffer Kokichi's wrath, as far as he's concerned he's the only one allowed to pick on Nagito). Nagito thinks he goes easy on Kokichi when they fight but he can be petty and sassy back and has a lot of embarrassing dirt on Kokichi. They're the kind of brothers that will pester and argue with each other but they'll bury the dead body for the other no questions asked. And Lord help you if they're in the same courtroom, they could find the dumbest little things to bicker with each other about and filibuster the case, but also Nagito will totally back up Kokichi's lies and vise-versa. Whatever creates bigger hell at the moment for the player. It was a mercy they weren't in the same game.
Anyway, since I haven't finished the game yet there's probably-definitely stuff I dont know about these characters but I got excited to share this with you.

She is made up of depths even the ocean couldn’t fathom.
Resident Estelle St. Claire came to the neighborhood of Country Club about three months. She’s currently 29 years old and was born in Denver, Colorado. She makes a living by working as a news reporter at KDVR. Her neighbor’s often compare her to Zoey Deutch, but she doesn’t see it.
ABOUT THEM.
Estelle was born on April 27, making her a Taurus, according to the chart.
She’s been described as empathetic, determined, and selfless. She’s also been noted to be resentful, impatient, and overprotective.
Her dream growing up has always been to become a news broadcaster.
Estelle’s parents separated during her childhood, and her mother remarried within a year, relocating to Europe with her new husband. As a result, Estelle spent a significant portion of her childhood exploring the European countryside.
Estelle’s father was the influential figure behind a chain of marijuana dispensaries that span across Colorado and neighboring states. After his recent death, Estelle and her brother were named his beneficiaries. She inherited both his home and half his company.
Two of their favorite ways to relax are by snuggling up with a good book and a glass of wine or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen - especially with her daughter, Vera.
Two bad habits she has are tapping her fingers when she is impatient and laughing during uncomfortable situations.
She can be found on all social media by the handle @sugarplum
A RUMOR FLOATING AROUND ABOUT THEM IS….
Estelle’s father was a prominent businessman, known for his chain of dispensaries that operated legally across Colorado and the surrounding states. However, beneath the surface of his respectable image, there were rumors of his involvement with dubious groups and his participation in moving illicit goods, using his stores as a front. With Estelle now holding half-ownership of the company, she is under immense pressure to navigate these murky waters. There are growing whispers suggesting she has stepped into her father’s controversial dealings, with allegations that she is aiding the cartel in drug sales.
THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE.
Truth be told, Estelle’s father was indeed involved with the cartel. He had a lucrative business arrangement that benefited both parties, and despite rampant rumors, his charm and influence kept authorities at bay. Estelle, however, wants nothing to do with these illicit dealings. In an effort to distance herself, she tried to sell the company, but her brother’s disappearance and his ownership of half the shares made the sale impossible. Now, Estelle is left to navigate the precarious situation, striving to protect herself and her family while avoiding further entanglement with the cartel.

Estelle’s parents separated during her childhood, and her mother remarried within a year, relocating to Europe with her new husband. As a result, Estelle spent a significant portion of her childhood exploring the European countryside.
Estelle's father was the influential figure behind a chain of marijuana dispensaries that span across Colorado and neighboring states.
A RUMOR FLOATING AROUND ABOUT THEM IS....
Estelle's father was a prominent businessman, known for his chain of dispensaries that operated legally across Colorado and the surrounding states. However, beneath the surface of his respectable image, there were rumors of his involvement with dubious groups and his participation in moving illicit goods, using his stores as a front. With Estelle now holding half-ownership of the company, she is under immense pressure to navigate these murky waters. There are growing whispers suggesting she has stepped into her father's controversial dealings, with allegations that she is aiding the cartel in drug sales.
In an effort to distance herself, she tried to sell the company, but her brother's disappearance and his ownership of half the shares made the sale impossible. Now, Estelle is left to navigate the precarious situation, striving to protect herself and her family while avoiding further entanglement with the cartel.

THERE'S A CERTAIN ANGER THAT FLARES IN MIRA'S VEINS the moment he speaks poorly of Rumi and Zoey. A hand clenches at the thought, staying within her pocket before forcing herself to take a breath. Starting a fight here does nothing good.
How could Mira forget? Protecting the honmoon, fending off several demons and discovering secrets that she wished never existed in the first place. There's a pull in her chest at the thought, that Mira quickly disregards with a huff. That's clearly the least of her concerns now, as Taejoon decides to drop another bomb on her.
Tumblr media
It's an unsettling thought: killing the loved one of another. Lips part, to say anything, but she falls short. There's no point to lie -- the hunter is unsure if she's even sorry. While she can argue that sure, the guy attacked first, it was her who landed the killing blow. Brows furrow, perplexed at the very idea. Why should she feel bad about taking down a demon? It's what she's trained for.
At the very least, Taejoon has every reason to hate her. She'd hold a similar resentment if anything ever happened to Rumi or Zoey. Well, maybe. If he wasn't a demon, of course.
It's too complicated, is what Mira decides.
" That should be my line. " Is the sentence that breaks Mira's silence. Though the aloof tone remains, there's no denying a sudden shift in her posture ; not nearly as tense as before. With a small nod towards the convenience store, she continues their pace. " I'd never want to see my face, if I were you -- probably would've stabbed me already. We're here now anyways, and I'm too hungry to say no to food. "
“I  thought  talking  to  you  would  be  easier  than  talking  to  a  people  pleaser  or  the  girl  that  Jinu  had  wrapped  around  his  finger.  The  guys  pointed  out  we  were  similar  before—I  don’t  see  it.”
Tumblr media
𝐇𝐄  𝐅𝐄𝐋𝐓  𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄  𝐇𝐄  𝐖𝐀𝐒  𝐆𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐆  𝐓𝐎  𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄  𝐀𝐍  𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐌  the  longer  this  conversation  continued.  “That  and  I  tried  to  kill  you  personally,  remember?  Not  apologizing,  by  the  way.”  He  says  it  as  if  it  were  just  another  Tuesday.  He  huffs  from  her  answer;  everyone  had  something  to  fear.  He  shifts  in  his  dark  hoodie  slightly,  their  destination  just  a  few  feet  away.  “Woohyuk—The  guy  you  hated  so  much  because  of  his  abs?  I  loved  him…and  you  killed  him.  That’s  why  I  was—am—so  angry  at  you.  I'll  never  see  him  again,  even  when  I  die.”  There  it  was,  ripped  off  like  an  awful  band-aid  which  made  his  jaw  clench.  “I’m  just  trying  to  get  you  guys  not  to  kill  me,  even  if  it  might  be  better  then  this.”
𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒,  𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄.  All  of  it  felt  as  if  it  were  worse  than  Gwi-Ma  in  his  head.  Sure,  to  survive  he  may  have  needed  a  soul  or  two,  but…Well,  he  wouldn’t  have  that  conversation  now.  He  had  to  get  through  this  one  first.
𝐇𝐄  𝐇𝐔𝐅𝐅𝐒  𝐎𝐔𝐓  𝐀  𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐆𝐇.  A  cute  face,  yeah.  She  was  right;  but  he  had  lost  this  dream  twice,  now.  He  wasn’t  even  sure  if  going  solo  would  even  work;  but…”Yeah.  Maybe.”  He  stops  moving  as  he  gets  to  the  door  of  the  convenience  store,  turning  his  head  to  look  at  her.  “You  still  wanna  eat  with  me  now?  Or  am  I  gonna  have  to  eat  them  all  myself?”  This  was  awkward,  and  maybe  she  knew  too  much  now,  but…maybe  she’d  consider  letting  him  live.

assorted zoey thoughts. will these be coherent ? lord knows.
friends in america: zoey does have a good group of friends back in the US ! i do think she spent the majority of her childhood feeling a little left out and awkward a lot even though she's always tried to be friendly, but it isn't until it's near her deciding she wanted to be an idol in korea that she gained good, honest friends. this included her first boyfriend.
first relationship: zoey's first dating experience had been with zeke ( short for ezekiel ! ) , and they started dating roughly half-way when they were fifteen years old. it is still, to this day, zoey's longest relationship to be had, falling apart because they couldn't handle the long distance relationship once zoey moved to korea.
dating life since: zoey did briefly date another trainee when she was a trainee herself, this time with a girl, although that quickly fell apart because the other girl wasn't over her ex. she dated another idol approximately when the huntr/x first debuted, and though i don't believe huntr/x 'blew up', per se, the bits of popularity they did gain caused a major rift in the relationship, and the ex, jealous over her growing popularity, broke up with zoey from envy. they tried dating again soon after, but same issue cropped up, so that failed too. she's been single since, though had had talking stage here and there until huntr/x grew suuuuper busy.
perspective on romance: i've put it on a separate post before, and i might elaborate it further in the future, but i don't believe zoey really ever took romance or any infatuation she's ever had seriously. if any courtship transpired, then that's great. she's just as giddy and eager as any one who gets together with their crush, but she'd never honestly view it as something that will last or it could potentially be a long-term affair. dating's just for fun, not for commitment. this might be attributed to her parents' divorce, and how she was probably at the front-row seat as they fell out of love. so my bet is that she didn't trust love in entirety: it's nice to like, and appraise, and admire. maybe even flirt. but i suppose she's always also waiting for the other shoe to drop when it does get serious; she's always expected that her partner will fall out of love from her too, eventually.
bond with huntr/x: which is why i think her bond with the girls are so, so important. it's the closest thing zoey's ever had to something that has the potential to last — because protecting the honmoon is a responsibility, right? and if it's a responsibility, then that means they'll have to do this for a long time, which means she could love both rumi and mira for a long time and be secured that they won't quit or argue or leave. well... until they almost do.
social key behaviour: i am of course still figuring this out !! but beyond her parents' divorce, i do think zoey grows a lot more confident than she realises when stability finally does arrive in her life – and that comes when her dad married her step-mom, and she didn't always have to tip-toe around her dad alone. ( his dad loves her, i think, but i also felt like sometimes he didn't know what to do with her. zoey's so much like his first wife. ) and zoey is incredibly empathetic and absolutely so generous with her opinions and thoughts and care. and yes, she is someone who is very excitable and, in truth, an incredible social butterfly, but she does also worry that that could come out as 'too much', and she would eventually exist as a burden.
her relationship with her eomma: she is fixing it — or rather, they both are !! zoey's eomma was very, very young when she had zoey and she was younger still when she realised she didn't want to live in the US. i felt like, while she did grow to both love and resent zoey for being one of the reasons she was 'chained' to her unhappy life in the united states, ultimately, she does feel great regret for not having behaved better and/or fought for zoey much harder. she did try over the years to try and bridge the gap whenever zoey visited, but it isn't until zoey's decision to move permanently to korea that she did try to earnestly and slowly make up for it.
