Can I request tf2 mercs with a reader who honestly looks really sweet and nice, but they're actually really blunt and rude like every time they open their mouth it's just "YOU #### ILL ### YOUR ### UNTIL YOU ######!!!"
Sweet n’ Sour 🎀
Mercs x “nice”! Reader
(pt.2)
A/n: MWAH I LOVE THIS IDEA SM. Rn I’m planning to make a fic of my own after this then I’ll be doing more requests afterwards so please be sure to suggests something I may do!!
Warnings: Harsh insults, Suggestive, Patronizing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Scout
Somebody warn him before he does some stupid shit like asking you out
At first he saw you as some ditzy babe he can pull unlike how classy Ms Pauling was, so he didn’t go to spy for you
I mean he still would’ve gotten his ass handed to him if he went to spy
“Sup princess, was wondering if you’d let me pop a soda with you and maybe you’d let me pop something else” lip bite
“..can you pop that giant disgusting pimple on your forehead instead??”
he ran to his room and began to cry, spy had some questions
“…what did you do? What did you say to him?”
“Omfg, what are you his dad? Jesus it hasn’t even been a week here and I’m already so fuckin tired of these guys god it’s like middle school all over again”
You just rambled on how annoyed you were
Oh yeah, he did pop that pimple eventually
Scout (like the child he is) went to spy because he genuinely wanted to know what he did wrong, like seriously wanted to know
“And then she friggin’ told me I had a gross pimple on my face and none of it wasn’t my fault!! I mean-seriously do chics just decide to be bitchy whenever they want?”
“Scout. You went up to a woman, a real woman, patronized her, and what? You thought she was going to suddenly want to be your ‘babe’ as you call it?”
“…okay I see how she could’ve took it the wrong way, BUT”
Spy smacked the shit out of him lol
He was so scared of you even if you did fight alongside him, he was scared you were gonna chew him up again the way you did before.
At the same time it did get him pretty hard to see you out there, something about you yelling at enemies swearing to kill them and their families just got him going
“CANT SNEAK AWAY FROM THIS AK MOTHERFUCKER”
“Uhh, I need to go take a dump or sumthin’ like dat”
He always thought about asking you out but the way you responded to his attempt at hooking up with you was enough to make hide his feelings
But you definitely weren’t one to hide yours, you quickly recognized that his dumbassery turned your laced panties into a slip n’ slide. So of course you went up to him asking to go out
“Hey Jeremy, I saw you out there bashing that heavy’s head in like it was nothing. You looked cute”
“Oh, y-yeah I mean pfft it’s what I do I mean it’s nothing special unless you think it’s sumthin’ special which I totally agree with you if you think it’s cool-“
“Shh- how about when we go back to the base I help you with some new techniques and you show me some of yours?”
Scout didn’t know if that was a metaphor for sex or if he was going to get his ass destroyed by you, but either way the answer was gonna be yes
Medic
When you first joined the team he never really expressed that he thought you wouldn’t be a good edition to the team
It only ever showed while on a mission, he’d almost never Uber you because he thought of you as weak
The first time he really interacted with you was in the battlefield he kept on using his syringe gun instead of healing the the team
You got so frustrated with him and just had to say something
“MEDIC PUT THE FUCKING GUN AWAY AND UBER HEAVY YOU FOUR-EYE BITCH” you screamed, slapping his gun way and shaking his collar
He blushed at the sight of you snapping at him, so unexpected yet so.. hot
“Oh, ja.. of course ♡”
The love in this man’s eyes compared to the hate in yours was astonishing, of course he immediately went to go do what you told him, all for you and only you
As soon as the match finished he couldn’t stop thinking about how much fury you had, he was definitely going to pocket you in the next match
It was so exciting to see you, so beautiful, yet so aggressive on the field
He’s always calming you whenever you get angry, basically this photo
Tumblr media
We all know Medic likes to be a bit messy himself with his bonesaw, you hate it when he gets messy around you
“Ugh!! Medic! You got blood on my skirt, do we need to get your ass another pair of glasses??”
“Now now, I itz nothing to worry about my love. I know my vway around a blood stain!”
“Okay,, but if this thing is still on here by then you’re buying me another.”
He enjoys watching you get ready in your pretty outfits and makeup. Medic is well maintenance but it doesn’t compare to how long it takes for you to get ready
You defending him is his fav thing ever, he never shows it a lot but he loves it when you cuss out mercs who think they aren’t getting enough healing
“SCOUT YOU PEICE OF SHIT STOP RUNNING AWAY FROM MEDIC IF YOU WANT HEALING!!”
“Aww, y/n ☺️”
No but you guys are so cute, esp when he Ubering you
He’s always cheering you on as you tear the enemy team apart
“You’re doing well my perle!!”
“Thanks my love! WHO WANTS THEIR BALLS CRUSHED”
Soldier
As soon soldier saw you he was kinda annoyed in a way? He didn’t want to kick you out or anything but he did want you to prove yourself to him, he wasn’t just gonna let a wuss fight alongside him
He once tried to push you to your limit by making you do some exercise but nothing could’ve prepared him for how you were gonna respond
“DROP DOWN AND GIVE ME 40 CUPCAKE”
“Uh-uh I KNOW ur not talking to me bitch”
“DID I STUTTER?”
“DID I STUTTER?? DONT YOU HAVE LIKE AN EAGLE TO WALK OR SOMETHING? GO SHOVE A ROCKET UP YOUR ASS”
You continued to give him the death stare, but soldier just stood there
You guys made out hard, right there and then. He just couldn’t resist, we all know how he feels about strong ladies
After that the All-American Soldier we once knew turned into a loverboy, he lives and breathes to love you
But since soldier has the lowest IQ out of all of the mercs he tends to get you on your nerves a lot
“Soldier, sweetie!! Why are we dying so much what’s the biggie? 😚”
“APOLOGIES CUPCAKE, BUT IT APPEARS I HAVE KILLED ANOTHER SOLDIER. AND IN THE GREAT NAME OF LADY LIBERTY, I MUST BURY IT IN HER HONOR.”
“SOLDIER GET YOUR ASS ON THE POINT RIGHT FUCKING NOW.”
“..copy that”
He always straightens his back every time he’s in your presence, he always wants to show how tough he is and that he respects you
The team gets so overstimulated whenever you two are on the same mission, especially Spy. It always ends with him getting a headache
He’ll try to get you cute gifts, but sometimes what Soldier considers ‘cute’ can be um
“Yehhehehe, SWEETHEART, I HAVE A SUPRIIISE”
“Is it another ear necklace? Soldier I told you to stop giving me those they’re gross..”
“NEGATIVE!”
“sigh Finally, what is it?”
“A BOW MADE OUT OF MY TISSUE. DOCTOR HELPED ME MAKE IT.”
“..okay this is actually cute as fuck”
For the most part soldier means no harm, he just wants to love you. Even if it means giving you jewelry made out of the flesh of his enemies <33

Yo sup! I love your blog soooooo much!!! Your writing style is great in my opinion ^^. I'd like a yandere! Rui (platonic) with sister reader. She actually puts effort into making "family bonds" and while she is nice to the other "family" members, she never questions Rui's methods and actions and genuinely loves him despite the behaviours he displays. He is really overprotective over her and he likes her attention. I'd love a scenario like that
Hmmm! Okaaay! I have never written for Rui yet so let’s try it out, I’m optimistic! Been getting a lot of Platonic Yanderes lately tbh!
Yandere! Platonic! KNY Lower Moon Scenarios: Ayaki Rui
Tumblr media
Rui, on the inside, is a lonely miserable child that is so desperate to feel nearest and dearest love for once in his new life that he does truly cruel and twisted means to get what carves so badly
Rui finds weak, pathetic demons and transfers his strength to them so they become infused by blood, cementing them as his family for good. He has done this too many to count… but most go against him and end up fried
Rui figured you’d be the same. Another sister who dares to try run away from him and will become his next toasted spider but no. You’re nothing like the ones who came before you and he is very shocked at first
Rui, needing to know if this behaviour is genuine, begins to keep a close eye on you and is very pleased everytime with the answers. You’re sweet and considerate to the other family members he brings home, you never argue with his methods nor measures and you even ask him how he is
Rui suspected you’d be angry at him for his drastic punishments to your siblings and parents, but no. You never once go against him, you just smile and proclaim you understand if he must hurt you. But in that moment, he won’t lay a single thread on you, he gently pats your head and orders you return to your room
Rui becomes favouritistic towards you, to the point it becomes obvious to everybody in the house. You’re a real sister and he needs to keep you as his, at all causes. No demon slayer can take you away from him and no demon can try trick you into abandoning him, he grows a intense sense of overprotectiveness over you, his one true sibling
Rui never really gets the love he wants with this makeshift family he has forcibly created. You’re the rare diamond of the pebble pile, you give him love and affection with no fear nor opposing intent. He is very tense and tries to push back but once he realises you’re just kissing away the blood on his cheek, he lets you. His obsession over you growing in the process
His obsession over keeping you as his sister at all means. Must he kill all those other failures? None of them please him at all and none has true worth to him, Rui is tempted to just kill them all and keep you. Sure, two siblings aren’t necessarily a family but the risk of losing you, who actually loves him, over a family who doesn’t love him. He is going to pick you everytime
Rui eventually moves you out of the attic you were in with your surrogate siblings. You don’t deserve to be around those pieces of filth and he ends up giving you the room, right next to his. So he can come to you very easily and demand your affection without needing anybody else around
He wants you nearby 24/7, his one and only beloved. He wants you close so he knows you’re still here and you haven’t been twisted by anything else that can twist your views
Rui is very desperate for attention so he wants it from you all the time. He’ll just sit down before you as you read/other and wait for you to acknowledge him. He doesn’t get hissy nor attack like he usually would if you take a little while, since he knows you’ll apologise and give him hugs or kisses as extra sorries
Rui will never let you out of the house nor out of the forest. You can go outside when he is with you, just to make sure no slayer can hurt you nor a demon can intervene. It’s all from his anxiety that makes him step in and take those extra precautions to keep you with him
At all causes, he doesn’t care how big the bill is he must pay to have you
Rui holds your hand as often as he possibly can, loving the feel of your warmth. He summons you to stand besides him as he deals out punishment, he sends you to the safety of the household when he finds threats he must dispose off. He is loving, he is favouritistic, he is possessive, he is overprotective; he is all of the above and so much more
“My dear sister. Come here, I am exhausted from taking care of such useless humans, may I get some affection to ease all my tense nerves? I don’t suspect you’d refuse, here now. You know I don’t bite you”

A Week In San Francisco
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: Where she’s Kirk's younger sister and her parents are on vacation. So, she’s forced to live with her brother and his bandmates for a week.
pairing: Kill 'Em All!James x fem!reader
warnings: none, just kissing, y/n is around 19
word count: 1699
A/N: Actually one of my first requests! hope you enjoy! sorry if there are some mistakes! xo (this was beta read like once or twice idk)
part2
Y/n sighs and drops her baggage to the floor and knocks on the door. She is sweating, but not just because of the heat. Nervousness kicking in as she knocks on the door again.
“Open up, asshole.” She murmurs.
It’s a warm summer night, August of 1983. Nice time for a holiday, right? Well, that’s exactly what her parents thought. Leaving her to live with her brother Kirk and his bandmates for a week. Their first album “Kill ‘Em All” had just come out and they already felt on top of the world.
She’d met them a couple times and even saw one of their shows. They’re fun guys to hang out with, for like a day… And she has to live with them for a week no less. Knowing how messy they can be, she's a bit on edge, certainly not 'cause she thinks they're cute…
“Hey, baby sis!” Kirk opens the door with a wide smile on his face.
“Hey.” She gives him a slight smirk. “Please let me in, I’m dying in this heat.”
"Yeah! Of course!” He lets out a short laugh and grabs her bags, letting her in. With a big, welcoming hug, he squeezes the air out of her lungs, as if the girl wasn't feeling hot enough. “So, how was the trip?” He puts the bags down and guides her to the kitchen.
“It was alright.” She shrugs. “The AC on the bus was terrible, but it was better than nothing.”
Kirk rummages around in the fridge and holds up an ice cold beer bottle. His eyes travel from his sister to the space behind her.
“You want a beer? Oh, hey James!” He grins.
Y/n turns around and smiles at the blonde boy, “Hey James, nice to see you again.”
James doesn’t know where to look and smiles back, blushing tremendously. “Hey! Uh, hey.” He clears his throat. “Good to see you again too, y/n. How uhh-“ he walks to the fridge and grabs a beer himself. “How have you been?” He almost gulps half the bottle down.
“Fine, you?”
“Go-“ James starts.
“Oh! He's great now since you’re here!” Kirk interrupts James. “He hasn’t shut up about you since we last saw you.”
“Dude!” James exclaims.
Y/n opens the beer and takes a sip, eying James down. He does the same and the silence almost turns awkward.
“Ahhh, there she is!” A loud voice beams out. “The cuter-looking Hammett!”
“Lars…” She smiles and puts her beer on the counter before being engulfed with a tight hug from the drummer.
“It’s so nice to finally have you here!” Lars boasts excitedly. “Come on, I’ll show you your room!”
“I can take her!” Kirk frowns and grabs her bags. “I got her bags, see? Besides, she’s my sister. I should give her the tour!” He pouts.
James snatches one of her bags out of Kirk’s hand. “Shut up, Hammett.” He walks down the hall, smirking at Kirk.
Y/n looks at her brother with a questioning look and Kirk just returns a defeated one. “Just…” he sighs. “Follow them.”
“It’s okay.” She giggles. “You’re still my favorite member, big brother.” She kisses his cheek and Kirk groans, over-exaggerating being grossed out.
“Eww! y/n!” He whines.
“Don’t be such a baby!” y/n taunts.
“You two coming?” Lars yells from around the corner of one of the rooms.
“Yeah!” They both answer in unison.
“Me and Lars share rooms and James shares with Cliff.” Kirk explains while they’re walking down the hall.
“Where’s Cliff anyway?” She asks.
They stop at a room where both Lars and James are waiting for them. She peaks her head inside the room and sees Cliff sitting on a mattress on the floor, plucking at his bass and a cigarette hanging loosely from his lips.
“Sup, y/n!” Cliff smiles. “Sorry for sitting on your bed here.” He crawls up and flashes her a boyish grin.
Cliff walks up to her and gives her a tight hug, she holds onto him tightly. He smells like smoke and beer, but so does the entire house. She’s not complaining, though.
“My bed? But this is your rehearsal room, right?” She looks around at the guys.
The room is covered in posters and pictures from magazines. From Motörhead, Black Sabbath and Misfits to Led Zeppelin, Diamond Head and Iron Maiden. Lars’s drum-set is in the corner and around the room are some amp’s.
Kirk and James’s guitars against the wall, some torn notes on the floor. Probably forgotten lyrics. She notices a notebook laying on one of the amps, but her attention is also taken away from it as the floor is littered with empty beer cans.
“Yeah, the only spare room we had.” Lars explains.
“We all agreed on giving you some privacy.” James smiles politely as a slight blush creeps on his face again.
“Sorry for not tidying up.” Cliff grabs some cans. “We try to stay civil here.”
“Says you!” James laughs.
“Yeah? Whadda ya gonna do?” Cliff taunts and throws an empty beer can towards James’s head.
James dodges it and laughs while flipping him off. Cliff wiggles his brows and flips him off as well. Y/n chuckles and grins at the scene in front of them. Yeah, she’ll survive them.
“Look, I know it’s not like home…” Kirk walks towards her. “But, this is all we had and we all sleep on mattresses too!”
“It’s fine, man!” She reassures them. “It’s generous enough for you guys to give me my own room!”
“Okay, good!” Kirk smiles and she sees all the boys sighing with relief, almost like a weight fell off their shoulders.
“What? You’d thought I’d get mad?” She smirks.
“Maybe, we could’ve handled you though.” James teases and gives her a playful nudge.
After spending some time around her, James is looking at her with an excited twinkle in his eyes, and his confidence is rising again. He hasn't stopped thinking about her since he last saw her and made a promise not to get nervous or shy. It's time to work on that part because he's already failed it.
“I bet you would.” She tilts her head and shoves him back, laughing while doing it.
“Listen, guys. I’m sorry if you still wanted to jam tonight.” She puts her bags next to the mattress. “But, I would really love to get some sleep. I’m beat.”
“Oh, that’s fine, y/n!” Kirk smiles. “We’ll be out of your hair, goodnight!”
“Goodnight, boys! Thanks again!”
While y/n gets ready for bed and is in the bathroom, brushing her teeth. James is pacing around in his room. He forgot his notepad in the rehearsal room, now temporarily y/n’s room.
“I can’t just walk in now.” He murmurs to himself. “She’ll think I’m a creep, prancing around her stuff or something like that.”
He grunts and starts pulling his hair slightly. “Fuck it.” He decides. “I’ll just wait and knock.”
James walks out of his room as he goes over what to say to her. He’s too deep in his own thoughts and looking at the floor when he bumps into someone.
“Oh, shit!” The voice says.
“Fuck! Sorry, y/n!” James apologizes.
They look into each other’s eyes until both of them start laughing awkwardly. James scratches the back of his neck and clears his throat.
“Uhm, my notepad is still in your room.” He explains. “I didn’t want to just walk in without you knowing.”
“Oh, don’t worry about it!” She assures. “Go ahead and grab it.”
“Great, thanks.” James nods and smiles back.
Both of them walk into her room and James starts looking for his notebook. “You see, I left it somewhere here.” He motions around with his hands.
“Was it the one with a blue cover?” She asks.
“Yeah? Did you see it?” His face whitens. “Did you read it?”
“I didn’t, don’t worry.” y/n grins. “I saw it when I walked in, it’s on the amp near the drums.”
James looks over at the amp and lets out a relieved sigh. “Awesome, thank you!” He smiles, shoving the notepad in his pocket.
He walks back to the door ready to walk out, but he turns to her before leaving. “We’re uh, going to the… the beach tomorrow.” He says. “Hope you brought a bikini.” He mentally face palms himself and his face reddens.
“Or… or a bathing suit! Just… as we're going to the beach. Just… forget I said that.”
She giggles and walks towards him, leaning against the wall and crossing her arms. Biting her bottom slightly and it doesn’t go unnoticed by James.
“Don’t worry, I brought it.” She assures.
“Good…. Good.” He mumbles as his eyes travel down her neck and to the hem of her shirt. “Nice shirt.” He compliments when his eyes linger over the print “Motörhead”.
“Thanks.” She smirks. “Goodnight, James.”
Y/n turns around, but before she can walk away, James grabs her wrist.
“Wait!”
“Yes?” She turns around, the slightest amount of hope in her eyes. Wondering what he still wants from her.
“Goodnight…” he looks down at her lips before looking back up into her eyes. Y/n does the same, biting her own bottom lip again.
“You wanna kiss me, don’t you?” He smirks.
“Maybe, do you want to kiss me too?” She smiles playfully.
“More than anything right now.” He whispers and leans in, kissing her. Carefully at first, but it turns into a slow and passionate kiss. His hands loosely on her hips as he pulls her body closer to his.
“Fuck…” he murmurs in between kisses. “Want you…”
She breaks the kiss and gives him one final peck before shoving him out of her room softly. He looks at her in defeat, his lips are pink and swollen and his blonde hair messy and in front of his needy eyes.
“We got the whole week, baby.” She winks at him and closes the door.

Pomni's Cheer Up tickles
Well, a request is a request after all! Time to do this cute request t-fic story for The Amazing Digital Circus (I’m sorry for taking so long, I have a lot of irl stuff going on). Also WRITERS BLOCK HAS BEEN HITTING ME A LOT
Summary: Pomni, who is still new in this new world, is stressed out and in her room trying to figure everything out and Ragatha cheers her up, Ragatha also pulled Jax along cause why not
Lee: Pomni
Ler: Ragatha
Jax was doing what he usually does: thinking of new ways to mess with the others while making fun of them. Pomni, she was easy, but nah, he didn’t want to add to her stress, her believing this was a dream was good enough. Kinger, he was kind of easy, but his delayed reactions were interesting, Gangle was easy enough. Couldn’t do Caine or Bubble, Zooble was a bit hard to pull pranks on, and Ragatha was hilarious to get a rise out of her. Speaking of Ragatha, he heard a delightful scream coming from Ragatha’s room and he chuckled as she stomped up angrily. “Sup, dollface,” he said with a smug smile on his face.
Ragatha glared at him angrily “Jax! Why did you put a snake in my room?!” she said with anger and bitterness in her voice. Jax smirked “Why not? It brings excitement in your room, doesn’t it?” Ragatha growled at him “No, not at all! Have you been thinking about doing something horrible to Pomni! If you have, don’t do it, she’s already stressed enough!” Jax was surprised at Ragatha’s protectiveness of Pomni, but was also curious.
“Nah, I would never,” Jax smiled “But I’m curious, do you like the newbie?” Ragatha was taken aback by the question “No! I just don’t want them to end up like the others, she’s also nice.” Jax smirked “That answers my question. Speaking of which, where is Pomni?” Ragatha said “I didn’t see her a whole lot today, do you think she’s ok?” “I don’t think, doll face. She’s probably wanting to be alone.”
Caine suddenly appeared out of nowhere (idk man, he’s the leader, he can do what he wants) and almost startled the both of them “Hello! How are my circus members doing today?!” Jax said “Doing just fine.” Ragatha said “I’m ok. Do you know where Pomni is, Caine?” “Well, last time I saw her, she was in her room, you can look for her there!” Caine said enthusiastically. Ragatha said “Right, thanks Caine!” She started pulling Jax along to go see Pomni. “Whoa, whoa, wait, what are we doing? Why are you pulling me?” Jax asked, confused.
“We’re going to see Pomni, and you’re coming to try and cheer her up,” said Ragatha. Jax said “You know, I’m the least expected person to cheer up someone, right?” Ragatha rolled her eyes at Jax’s comment, but got to Pomni’s room. She knocked on Pomni’s door politely. The door opened and Pomni’s nervous big eyes met her and Jax. Ragatha said “Hey Pomni! Can we come in?” Pomni hesitated but said a very quiet ‘Sure’. “Great!” Ragatha said, and pulled Jax into Pomni’s room.
Pomni said “Wh-what brings you here, Ragatha? I didn’t expect you to be here, Jax.” Jax said “She pulled me here.” Pomni said in a somewhat quiet voice“O-oh, but why d-did you come here Ragatha?” Ragatha said “I just wanted to see how you were doing, how you’re feeling!” Pomni said, “Still feeling terrible, but I don’t know what to do about it.” Ragatha went over to Pomni and said, skittering her fingers on Pomni’s sides“Would this help?”
Pomni started to giggle “Eek! Ragahahatha, wait!” Pomni giggled and snorted with a wobbly smile. As Ragatha started to tickle Pomni carefully, Jax was just standing there with a smirk on his face. “Oh, so the newbie is ticklish, that’s cool.” Ragatha said “Which do you prefer? Light or intense tickles?” Ligihihihihihit tihihihihickles,” Pomni giggled out. Ragatha giggled along with Pomni “Light it is then.” Ragatha continued to skitter her fingers on Pomni’s sides softly and lightly so she doesn’t overwhelm her.
For 10 minutes, Ragatha continued to tickle Pomni lightly and gently while Jax slowly went out of Pomni’s room without her noticing to pull another prank of Gangle. “Hehehehehehehehehehehehehe, it tihihihickles.” Pomni giggled out as Ragatha tickled her tummy gently. Ragatha giggled along “Well, that’s why I’m doing it silly!” After that, Ragatha stopped to let Pomni breathe. “Thahahanks Ragatha.” Ragatha skittered her hand on Pomni’s side once more which made her squeal. "No problem Pomni, hopefully I didn't go to hard on you." Pomni smiled a bit "Don't worry, you didn't."

lovebug- caliban imagine
sup. fic inspired by my favorite song in THE world. not as soft mushy as it may sound I promise caliban is a nice lil sarcastic SHIT with a big ole crush. mild sabrina bashing but its funny in context and I think it’s the way family behaves. reader is a Spellman, not a witch but DOES know about the supernatural/is part of the supernatural world. here with my once in a blue moon post lol. feedback would be appreciated!
Tumblr media
called her for the first time yesterday
finally found the missing part of me
felt so close but you were far away
left me without anything to say
Caliban was not an idiot- he knew not to underestimate the Spellman half-witch that had gone and declared herself queen of hell. So he’d taken the liberty of learning everything he could about her, noting her habits and schedule and the people she surrounded herself with.
And then he found you.
You weren’t a witch- at least, he hadn’t found your name in his diligent searching through the Book of the Beast- but you were something. That he was sure of. There was something slightly off about your presence, tinged a little glittery, though not altogether unpleasant.
No, not unpleasant at all, he mused as he watched you make your way towards your car. Tucked into a little yellow sundress, you stood out like a ray of sunshine in the wave of doom-and-gloom that hallmarked high school. The school bell rang out behind you, and Caliban felt his knees go disgustingly weak as you smiled brilliantly at Sabrina through the crowd.
It was a stupid, stupid decision that Caliban would never have made in the right state of mind, but he reasoned that pissing off Sabrina was validation enough to get your attention. He ducked into your path on purpose, taking advantage of your momentary distraction as he gently bumped into you. oops.
You collided with a solid wall, books tumbling out of your hands as strong arms reached out to steady you. You let out a surprised yelp at the collision, peeking up curiously as the wall you’d hit laughed.
Oh, well that was a sight for sore eyes.
The golden haired stranger holding you was, well, gorgeous. Bright blue eyes peered down at you as he grinned, and you felt the whole world shutter around you. You’d definitely been watching too many soap operas with your auntie, but goddamn it if you weren't positively putty.
“Hi there, stranger.” You giggled nervously, and Caliban suddenly remembered he’d had his arms around you for far too long to be acceptable. He reluctantly retreated, feeling something claw a little uncomfortably in his chest.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going.” He apologized, moving to pick up your books as you bent down to retrieve them. He ran a hand through his hair in barely concealed bashfulness, unsure of why he felt so... unsettled, all of a sudden.
“It’s alright, my head was in the clouds.” You waved off his apology, accepting the books he offered you with a grateful smile. “Are you new here? I don’t think we’ve met.”
“He’s new here!” Sabrina’s shrill voice interrupted, training her icy glare on Caliban, who fought back a smirk. “This is Caliban- he’s from... Australia! Yeah, down under!”
“Oh, I can show you around tomorrow! I know how scary it can be to be new here.” You patted his arm sympathetically, ignoring Sabrina’s stream of indignant protests. “I was with student council all day. If you’re a senior, we probably have most of the same classes.”
Caliban had shit to do. Caliban had trials to plan and souls to torture. But you were looking at him- all warmth and sunshine, and Sabrina’s look of pure horror only sweetened the deal.
“I’ll see you in class tomorrow then, sunshine.”
so worth it.
now i'm speechless, over the edge
i'm just breathless
i never thought that i'd catch this love bug again
hopeless, head over heels in the moment
i never thought that i'd get hit by this love bug again
Caliban didn't understand why the mortals all bemoaned high school as hell on earth. It certainly wasn't so bad once you got past the wave of body spray and the questionable cafeteria food. In fact, darting to class with a pretty girl beside him was pretty enjoyable, all things considered.
You’d spent the day introducing him to the other students, passing him silly notes in class, and had even tugged him from the lunch room to hang out with your friends in the library. He learned that you pretty much did it all- student council, cheerleader, top of your class- all while managing to somehow know the name of everyone you passed with a smile in the halls. You were silly and sweet— smart as all hell with a wit that certainly kept the clay prince on his toes.
and he was smitten.
The groan that escaped your painted lips was delightfully sinful as you slumped in the seat beside him in english class. “I hate Romeo and Juliet. How do two people fall in love in a few days anyhow? And Mrs. Willows always makes us reenact the scenes, and it’s so corny.” The blush that colored your cheeks as he looked at you in concern was something he did his best to commit to memory- cheesiness be damned, Caliban was enjoying himself far too much.
Caliban smirked, skimming through the booklet he’d been passed as the teacher droned. The prince of hell had a certain flare for the dramatics, and Sabrina’s glare burning into the back of his head only fueled his antics. He had one scene in mind, and it was the scene that was certain to kill four birds with one stone- totally make you fall in love with him, he would somehow manage to kiss you (that part was a work in progress), piss off Sabrina, and also- piss off Sabrina.
And kiss you. So maybe five parts. Damn it, Caliban was going to have to make a list.
“Partners?” He whispered softly, gently tugging at your hand as the teacher sat back down. Caliban’s eyes were alight with a tinge of mischief that you either failed to notice or were simply amused by- and your answering nod was more than a little bashful. “We can do my favorite scene.”
“If you say the first kiss scene, I’m punching the daylights out of you.” You warned, playfully nudging his knee with your own. “It will be unkind and I will not feel bad.”
“My lady wounds me.” He dramatically rested his hand above his heart. “And we absolutely have to do this scene-” He raised his hand to silence your half-hearted protests- “because Billy told the guys in calculus that he was specifically going to be pissed if we did this scene.”
Okay, so maybe he’d stretched the truth a little bit. But Caliban knew that the mention of your seedy ex-boyfriend (who you’d enlightened him about during lunch) would absolutely get you to agree to the scene. And it wasn't like he’d lied— Billy Marlin’s glare was nearly as icy as Sabrina’s. And, it wasn't like the way Billy looked at you- with something akin to possession in his eyes- totally made Caliban want to fast track the kid to damnation right then and there. Nope.
“We can meet up later today to practice? I have cheerleading practice after school, but I’m free after that!” You grinned at him, and he felt the tension ease out of his shoulders as you rested your hand on his arm. The gesture was so effortless- but to Caliban, who’d never really experienced connection like this- you reduced him to all but clay again.
“I can drive you home after practice?” Caliban offered, enjoying the yelp that Sabrina let out from the back of the classroom. He shouldered your bag as the bell sounded, noting the way your eyes softened even further at the gesture. “We don't really have cheerleaders down under, you know.”
“You’re welcome to stay and watch.” You shrugged, ignoring the way your heart thudded erratically as he walked you to the locker room. “It won’t be too long today, and Sabrina has a date with Nick after, anyways.”
it was really just too easy.
i can't get your smile out of my mind
i think about your eyes all the time
you're beautiful but you don't even try
(you don't even, don't even try)
modesty is just so hard to find
Caliban wasn’t sure if he regretted his earlier offer. Sure, the sight of you tucked into the tight cheerleading uniform (did they make them that short on purpose?) was pretty much the pinnacle of male fantasy, and the smiles and winks you’d thrown his way whenever he caught your eye during your routines were something else altogether.
But getting the sight out of his brain as you rambled aimlessly in the car about today’s chapters of Dante’s Inferno, while he simultaneously tried to focus on the road and definitely not the way your skirt hitched on the leather seat...
Yeah, Caliban was pretty sure he was in love.
You weren’t too far off, in all honesty. Caliban’s large hands had a firm grip on the steering wheel, and you took the time to admire further up his toned arms as he drove. His hair fell in loose, windswept waves, and his side profile looked like it was sculpted by the freaking gods. Every so often he would glance your way, his perfect lips parting to reveal his perfect teeth and perfect smile and gods-
Yeah, you had the lovebug bad.
“So how did you meet Sabrina?” You questioned innocently enough, and Caliban had to restrain the urge to spill all of the hell-related gossip to you. How Sabrina had managed to keep all of her throne-seeking from you was beyond him, but it certainly added a thrill to his pursuit of you.
“I had some administrative issues the other day and ran into her. She doesn’t like me too much, I’ve gathered.” Caliban was careful not to lie- his entanglement with you had the added perk of pissing off your dearest cousin, but it was genuine on Caliban’s end. He found he didn’t really want to lie about things.
“Sabrina is... touchy.” You offered carefully, shifting in your seat as you pointed out directions to your home. “I don’t really understand why she doesn't like you, to be honest. I was actually going to have a word with her about being nice- you’ve been so sweet, and I was the new kid too a few years back. It's hard to find your place in the established dynamic of a small town.”
Caliban doubted you’d had too much of an issue, with the way the halls seemed to light up around you, but the accompanying smile you gave him was bright enough to soothe his imagined woes. “It’s alright, I reckon she’ll get used to having me around.”
“Used to you?” You mused with a giggle, leaning on the console in a gesture that brought your face much, much closer to his own. He was overwhelmed with your floral scent- something soft and summery and altogether you.
“I plan on being around you a lot, sunshine. If you don’t mind.” He grinned, turning to face you momentarily at the stop sign. Your eyes were wide with hardly concealed surprise at his words, and he watched the realization of the close proximity of his face flicker through them.
It happened so fast that Caliban was almost certain he imagined it- but your eyes had definitely glanced at his lips. The blush that tinged your cheeks as you pulled back confirmed it, and in a moment of calculated risk, Caliban moved to rest his hand on your exposed thigh.
“No, I wouldn’t mind at all.”
If Caliban squinted, he could almost picture that he was a normal teenage boy, driving a beautiful, normal girl home from school. The sinking sun was peeking through the windows, bathing you in an ethereal glow, and - at least for right now- everything was perfect.
you were perfect.
now i'm speechless, over the edge
i'm just breathless
i never thought that i'd catch this love bug again
hopeless, head over heels in the moment
i never thought that i'd get hit by this love bug again
Caliban draped himself across your bed, a languid smirk on his lips as you kicked haphazardly placed piles of clothes into your closet.
“I promise I’m not usually this messy,” you apologized with a sheepish smile, shoving a mass of shoes under your bed, “okay, that's a lie. I’m always this messy, I just didn’t expect company.”
Caliban hardly minded. It was adorable how embarrassed you were, and he took the time to take in your bedroom (drawn from his reverie only by the occasional delighted shout when you found a shirt you’d thought had been sacrificed to the laundry gods, or worse, Sabrina’s room).
The first thing Caliban noticed was the books. While your clothes lay in scattered piles, all of your books were meticulously organized and lovingly tucked into shelves that took up an entire wall of the room. Sabrina may have answered that Caliban’s only hobby was torturing babies (or her, which was the same thing, really— and also, what the hell? Caliban may have enjoyed the occasional soul flaying, but only when it was well deserved!)— but Caliban loved to read.
What was one lifetime in one world, when he could learn of a thousand others in just as many universes? Immortality could grow dull, and eternity had to be spent somehow. Caliban tried not to smile as you precariously placed the book that had found its way onto your nightstand back into its place, and supposed that it might be far more enjoyable with someone else.
You seemed satisfied with your damage control, and slumped onto the bed dramatically with a groan. It was then that Caliban’s hand found a stray victim of your clothing massacre.
“Nice.” He grinned, and you peeked up from your playbook to find him dangling a pink lace bra.
Shit.
“Give me that!” You lunged, but Caliban was too fast. He quickly moved them from your reach, laughing wildly as you wrestled him desperately for the bra.
“You are the worst.” A groan escaped you, and you huffed in fake-defeat as Caliban smirked victoriously at your retreat. You leaped at the chance, tackling Caliban with all your might. While momentarily surprised, he reacted quickly and shifted so that he was now pinning you to the bed, his hair dangling wildly in your face as you both laughed.
Caliban’s face was so close that you could see the flecks of green in his eyes. For a moment, his eyes seemed to flicker to your lips, but in the seconds it took for you to find your voice again, you’d lost your nerve.
“We should get back to the scene.”
The moment was broken, and Caliban retreated with a bashful look on his face. He ran a hand through his hair and moved to sit across from you, his cheeks tinted a little red as he politely handed you back your intimates and pretended to shield his eyes when you tossed it somewhere. You’d never been so freaking embarrassed in your life, but Caliban was smiling so softly at you, like you were—
“If I profane with my unworthiest hand this holy shrine, the gentle sin is this: my lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand to smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss.” He motioned around with his hands dramatically, tone playful and light.
You were so dead. Caliban was freaking made for this romantic swooning nonsense that you’d tried to protest nearly the whole ride home, Billy Marlin be damned.
Giggling nervously in what you hoped seemed scene-appropriate, you tried your best to forget being a horny teenager to instead play a horny teenager. “Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much, which mannerly devotion shows in this, for saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch, and palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.”
Caliban’s voice lowered, a smile still tugging at his lips as he took your hands in his own. “Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too?”
“Ay, pilgrim.” Your own voice softened in turn as Caliban began to trace mindless patterns on the backs of your hands with his thumbs, “lips that they must use in prayer.”
“O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do. They pray; grant thou, lest faith turn to despair.” Caliban’s eyes were soft, and you imagined that Shakespeare had pictured the man in front of you when putting the words to paper. The words fell so naturally from his lips and he seemed engrossed in the scene— he was, for lack of a better word, enchanting.
“Saints do not move, though grant for prayers' sake.” Your voice was hardly more than a breathless whisper, the proximity of your faces and the intimacy (however imagined) stealing the air from your lungs.
Caliban paused, his eyes meeting yours intently as if searching for something. Whatever it was, he seemed to find it as he took your face in both of his hands.
“Then move not, while my prayer’s effect I take.”
It was all too much. You could hardly be blamed for kissing him as fiercely as you did.
It was like fireworks, like every cheesy romance novel and play (cough, Romeo and Juliet) claimed it would be. You’d had plenty of kisses before, but never one that melted your brain like this. You forgot all about the scene, about how not real this was supposed to be as your hands tangled in his windswept hair and he pulled you onto his lap.
It was Caliban who first pulled away, only just so that your noses were touching. He was breathing heavily, eyes blown wide— and you felt your whole face turn red as reality consumed you again. “I am so sorry, I’ll just—”
“Where do you think you’re going, Juliet?” Caliban’s hands firmly gripped your hips, preventing you from moving away. His fingers thumbed the band of your skirt, and his next words were a whisper against your lips.
“Thus from my lips, by thine, my sin is purged.”
kissed her for the first time yesterday
everything i wished that it would be
suddenly i forgot how to speak
hopeless, breathless, baby can't you see?
Caliban was in love. He’d spent the next three weeks with you reciting Romeo and Juliet, sharing shakes at Dr. Cerberus, and tugging you into empty classroom and closets at every opportunity to kiss you senseless.  Every moment not spent with you was at least somewhat occupied by the thought of you, and Caliban found he wasn’t the least bit upset about it.
And Sabrina was pissed.
If she’d hated him before, she positively loathed him now. It was the latest point of contention between yourself and your darling cousin, who’d you taken to threatening with various kitchen utensils and promises to tell the aunties she’d been sneaking out to make her behave. And Caliban, for his part, was perfectly polite— even though he still had every intention of taking the throne from the inexperienced witch who promised to destroy the balance of heaven and hell.
Which presented Caliban’s own latest dilemma. He was going to have to tell you eventually— and in a way that didn't make you totally hate him. He had a plan. Okay, maybe a skeletal plan. Or no plan. Yeah, Caliban was going to wing it.
After today. He just had to make it through your reenactment of Romeo and Juliet with no demonic catastrophes or maiming Blly, and then he would tell you everything.
But even that was too much to ask.
Sabrina burst through the english classroom doors, yelling in barely concealed panic that there was a BIG problem and the principal needed Caliban now.
Caliban moved to leave with an apologetic smile in your direction, which you were absolutely not having. Despite your current frustration with Sabrina, she looked downright terrified, and you were both concerned for your cousin and overwhelmed with a gut feeling that something was up.
After a few moments, you excused yourself to use the restroom.
You hauled ass to the gym, where the screaming sounded to be coming from. When you entered, you were met with the strangest sight.
The gym was filled with winged... rats? And at the center of the chaos was Sabrina and Caliban, back to back and armed with what appeared to be lacrosse sticks. Caliban’s shirt was tattered from the rats, and you took a fraction of a second to banish the completely innappropriate and untimely thoughts from your head.
“And no one thought to call me?” You shouted angrily through the swarm, snagging a baseball bat from the rack and smacking it around with reckless abandon. Caliban hooted, laughing loudly as you took your place beside them. Rats tore at your clothes, but you were more frustrated that Sabrina had called your boyfriend (or whatever he was) over you.
“Why did you get Caliban! I was right there! Is there something wrong with you? Were you dropped on the head as a child? He’s not even from here Sabrina, he has no idea what-”
“For hell’s sake, he’s not the new kid! He’s not even from Australia! He’s a stupid clay prince from hell who is trying to take my throne and raze humanity, and his stupid plague king sent these after me, and now he’s dating you!” Sabrina spat out the word dating as if it was even more disgusting than the winged vermin tearing at your clothes.
“Will someone please explain what the hell is going on here?”
You were no less frustrated when Sabrina revealed her trek to hell and the all ensuing madness she’d partaken in, but you remained calm enough to not turn the bat on her clearly empty skull.
“And you’re the clay prince of hell... challenging her throne?” You questioned with a sharp glance at Caliban, who nodded reluctantly as he swatted a rat hurtling towards you.
“Do you even have a driver’s license!” You screamed, waving your baseball bat around wildly.
“I’m a demon prince of hell made out of clay, and you’re worried about if I can legally drive?” Caliban shouted back in astonishment through the wave of shrieking rats. The lacrosse stick he’d snagged was surprisingly effective.
“I was getting to that part, thank you for reminding me!” You hissed, debating whether to smash his face in with the bat. “How about we start with how you completely lied to me, and how our whole relationship or whatever it is a lie! Were you ever going to tell me? Or was this all part of some throne grab?”
“It wasn’t a lie!” Caliban demanded hotly. “You were not a lie!”
“Really!” You whirled on him, eyes alight with anger. “Because I sure feel like one!”
The rats numbers were dwindling rapidly, and you smacked the last one heading towards you directly at Caliban’s face. It collided with a satisfying shriek, and you threw your bat down as you stormed out of the gym.
Sabrina and Caliban rushed after you, but you’d disappeared in the hall.
now i'm, yeah, oh!
now i'm speechless, over the edge
i'm just breathless
i never thought that i'd catch this love bug again
now i'm hopeless, head over heels in the moment
i never thought that i'd get hit by this love bug again, (oh)
love bug again
You’d remained collected until you’d transported into the middle of the living room, collapsing into auntie Hilda’s arms in a puddle of tears as you told her everything. She’d muttered a stream of ancient curses about Sabrina, but beyond that merely smoothed your hair and told you that all boys were awful— especially demonic princes of hell.
“I hate him.” You glared half-heartedly into your cup of steaming peppermint tea. You couldn’t believe you’d been so stupid. Falling blindly in love with a stranger who had only sought you out for some elaborate game with Sabrina. Screw Caliban and his perfect hair, his perfect smile, his perfect— “I want to bash his face in.”
“No you don't, love.” Hilda smiled knowingly. “You’re angry, yes— and hurt. But you care for the boy. I’ve never seen you so happy as you’ve been these last few days. I think you ought to cool down and hear what he has to say.”
“I never want to talk to him again.” You groaned, burying your face in a pillow. “I’d rather die.”
And because the universe was truly conspiring against you, a knock sounded at the door.
“Well, best get over that quick.” Hilda warned, ignoring your stream of indignant protests as she hustled to the door.
“Caliban! Yes, do come in love. Oh, yes, we will be having a little chat later, but for now I think it’s my niece you must be speaking to.” Hilda’s cheerful voice trailed in from the foyer, and you jumped up to make a break for it.
You were halted by a familiar pair of strong arms tugging you back by the waist.
“Get off of me!” You shouted, pushing Caliban away harshly and ignoring the warmth that lingered where he’d touched you. “I want my baseball bat. Somebody get me my baseball bat! I’m going to bash your stupid pretty face in you asshole—”
“Five minutes.” Caliban pleaded desperately, “just give me a five minutes to explain, and then I’ll give you back the baseball bat to bash my face in, okay?”
You considered his offer for a moment, swallowing the sob crawling its way up your throat as you nodded reluctantly. If it made him leave faster, you’d do anything.
His shoulder sagged in barely concealed relief. “Okay. I am Caliban, Prince of Hell. I am not from Australia, clearly, and am not a transfer student. I am trying to take your cousin’s throne. She does not understand the realm of the damned— she thinks it needs to be generous, rather than a fair judgment of life. I am not her father, and I do not believe in reckless or cruel damnation. I do not wish any harm on Sabrina, and I’ve managed to keep the worst of the plague kings from her. Even if you were to reject me now, I would continue to try to protect her— you have my word.” Caliban paused as you released a breath you did not know you were holding. Your eyes finally dared to meet his, and you nodded for him to continue.
“I agreed to attend Greendale because yes, it did piss off Sabrina, but you were there.” He raised his hand to halt your protest. “You intrigued me, and I wanted to know you better. I will be fully honest that it had the added bonus of irritating your cousin, who I so delight in irritating, but my primary focus was you. You... enchanted me. I had never found myself so invested in anything before as I was in spending mundane days at high school— of all things— with you. Truthfully, it confused even me at first. And while the past you knew is false, I am real— and my feelings for you are true.”
“That is such bullshit, and you know it!” You exploded furiously, smacking his chest with untamed rage. “You knew exactly what you were doing. Who agrees to go to high school because they like a girl? Are you unhinged? Who doesn't just ask someone out if they were so interested, huh? No, you came here with your stupidly perfect little ‘oh I’m Caliban, and I’m so dreamy’ act, knowing full well that it would make me completely abandon all rationality. Well guess what, I did! I fell stupid head over heels for you, and it was all one big lie.”
Your voice broke on the last few words, anger shifting to broken sadness as you continued to pound relentlessly on his chest. “I was a lie.”
He caught your hands, holding them against his chest as he pressed you against the wall. “You weren't a lie, Spellman.”
His words were breathless whisper, his beautiful eyes pained and desperate as he gripped your hands harder. “I fell for you the moment I saw you. I enrolled in high school because you smiled at me. I learned every line of Romeo and Juliet to recite them to you. When we first met, you wondered how Romeo and Juliet could possibly fall in love after a mere few days, but I understand it now. I have never been driven so completely insane by anything or anyone like this before. The power you have over me is unmatched. I am completely and wholly yours. If you were to ask me right now to leave, to never bother you again, I would leave my heart with you and spend my eternity in endless sorrow. I would think forever of the way you smiled at me, the way you kissed me, how soft your hair felt in my hands, and how my heart raced every time you laughed. I would never forgive myself for the pain I had caused you, and you would haunt me every day, every waking moment, every dream.”
Caliban moved your hands to his lips, nearly kissing them as he pleaded to you with tears in his beautiful eyes. You were motionless, turned to stone by his heavy gaze.
“So please, don’t become my specter. If I am a stranger to you now, let me make you fall for me all over again. I would do it a thousand times, if you'd let me. I could think of no sweeter way to spend my eternity.”
When you’d thought that Shakespeare had been imagining Caliban when he wrote, you’d been wrong. There was no poetry, no book, no lyric that could possibly compare to the way he spoke to you— the way his eyes so desperately tried to convey his anguish.
You removed your hands from his, and his whole face seemed to shatter.
“You’re not a stranger,” you muttered softly, moving to take his face your hands. His face remained guarded, but he leaned instinctively into your touch. “You’re Caliban.”
When you kissed him, it was like falling in love all over again.
And you supposed you did.
“But we are having a long, long talk about everything.” You warned as you pulled back, poking his chest sharply as he nodded profusely. “And if you ever, ever lie to me again, I’ll set something worse than flying rats on you. I’ll let Sabrina have you.”
Caliban laughed wildly, picking you up and spinning you around as he kissed you over and over again in sheer relief and joy. “I love you, Spellman. Anything you want, it’s yours.”
“I just want you, clay boy.”

jealous haikyuu!! boys
summary: the haikyuu!! boys getting jealous over you talking to a boy but as it turns out, that boy is in fact your relative
characters: third year gym squad (lev, hinata, bokuto, kuroo, tsukishima & akaashi)
Tumblr media
thank you to anon for this sweet request! 💖
(y/n) = your name
(b/n) = brother’s name
tw// sexual references, swearing
Tumblr media
Lev Haiba
he was already in a sour mood from practise bc kenma, kuroo & yaku had all ganged up on him so he was getting beat left, right & centre
so he was feeling extra confrontational when he laid eyes on you laughing and chatting with some other guy, in the spot where you usually stand and wait for him after practise
he was so mad >:(
like he just had a shitty day at school and now some punk was trying to flirt with you- and you didn’t seem to be uncomfortable either
DOES HIS SUFFERING KNOW NO END?! 😩😭
grrr like he had spent 90% of the day looking forward to seeing you and now you were talking to some other guy like he didn’t even exist :(
a part of him knew that he was being overdramatic but the other part of him was like ‘all feelings are valid, lev. 💕💖💗’
like he literally worked so hard to be the best boyfriend possible and this guy thought he could just swoop in and steal your heart??? without even letting you braid his hair yet???
yeah, lev had spent too much money on cat keychains to lose you this far into the game
also he loves you pls don’t leave him rn (y/n) 😭
so he marched up to you with a frown, grabbing your hand and placing a kiss on the back just like he usually does as a greeting, ‘hi, babe.’ he murmured.
your attention immediately shifted onto your boyfriend and you automatically pouted upon seeing his glum expression, ‘hiya. are you okay, hun? rough day at scho--’
he held your hand by his lips and muttered from behind your knuckles, ‘who’s this?’ he inquired, vaguely gesturing to your brother
‘oh, lev! this is my brother! i don’t think y’all have met yet.’
lev blinked rapidly at what you just said, ‘brother? like- male sibling.’
you nodded while simultaneously quirking an eyebrow at his need for clarification at the simplest piece of information, ‘yes. my male sibling.’
lev let out a heavy sigh of relief as his lips curled into a smile, softening his grip on your hand, allowing you to pull it away, ‘ah, okay.’
then he turned to your brother and stuck out his hand, ‘nice to mee-- you don’t look anything like (y/n).’ he chirped, all trances of sadness leaving his face - it was kinda creepy how quickly he was able to do that
model tingz
your brother shrugged, ‘yeah.’ he hastily took lev’s hand, giving it a firm shake before turning on his heels, ‘i should really get going now, bye!’ he called out before rushing off, quite intimidated by the fact you had a skyscraper for a boyfriend
lev turned to you, a warm smile now gracing his features
‘uh, where did all your gloom go? you looked miserable just a few seconds ago!’ you inquired, playfully poking his cheek
lev shrugged, poking your forehead in retaliation, ‘i don’t know. i’m here with you now so i guess i don’t have a reason to be sad.’ he said nonchalantly, forgetting the fact he had gotten the results for his midterms today and he had failed maths horribly
but who need maths when you’re a model yk?
Tumblr media
Shōyō Hinata
bruh- hinata didn’t even notice you were talking to someone UIEFGBVFE
once practise was over he literally just ran up and threw himself at you
he has selective vision, he only sees the things he wants to see and rn, all he wants to see you under the moonlight 🥺
so he wraps you in a hug and peppers your face in kisses just like he usually does when he greets you after practise
then he noticed that there was some guy standing next to you, aggressively tapping your shoulder to request your attention even though hinata was clearly trying to tell you about his day at practise
he unintentionally scowled at the boy before cocking his head to the side and asking, ‘who are you?’
although this tone of voice didn’t seem too nasty; given the context - accompanied by the sour look on his face - the question seemed to have threatening undertones
you’re brother blinked rapidly before uttering, ‘i’m (b/n).’
he continued to stare daggers at the guy, ‘what do you want from (y/n)?’
‘the maths homework answers.’ your brother chuckled, continuing to playfully poke your shoulder until hinata swatted his hand away
‘she doesn’t owe you an--’
you were extremely confused as to why hinata took up such a serious demeanour but then you realised that he had never met your brother before, so hinata probably thought there was just some creepy harassing you for the homework answers
although you were charmed by your boyfriend’s attempts to be ‘scary’ for you, you still felt the need to intervene
‘oh, shōyō. that’s my brother, by the way.’ you hummed, awkwardly rubbing the back of your neck
both your brother and your boyfriend slowly turned their heads to look at you, sharing the same dumbfounded look
‘your brother?!’ hinata exclaimed while your brother now looked rather offended, ‘you didn’t tell your boyfriend about me- rude!’
to be fair, your one year anniversary with shōyō was approaching so you feel foolish about not telling him about your brother sooner- it’s just that it never really crossed your mind
‘i’m fucking leaving.’ (b/n) spat, turning on his heels; trying to make it seem like he was storming out because he was upset that you hadn’t mentioned him to your boyfriend but in reality, he was just getting tired of prying at you for the homework answers
‘i’m fucking leaving too!’ hinata hissed, imitating your brother’s actions until he got the gate of the school, then he turned back around and shuffled back over to you
he pulled you into a hug, resting his chin on your shoulder and squeezing your waist tight as he whispered into your ear, ‘do you have any other secret siblings that you want to tell me about?’
you giggled, pressing a gentle kiss onto his collarbone ‘i don’t think so.’
Tumblr media
Kōtarō Bokuto
mans thought you were leaving him 🥺
like why would you talk to another guy when you had a cool ace bf already? (˘・_・˘)
in bokuto’s mind, that could only mean one thing;
YOU WERE GOING TO LEAVE HIM FOR AN EVEN COOLER ACE BOYFRIEND!! ヽ(*。>Д<)o゜
and the fact your brother was wearing a jersey didn’t help either
like, he doesn’t often get jealous when you talk to other guys but this one was wearing a JERSEY FFS!!! that meant he must be cool >:(((
also, you were laughing!
yeah, you sometimes laugh when you talk to akaashi or boys in your class but this time it was different
the guy looked familiar but bokuto couldn’t put a finger on who he was - but he knew that the guy wasn’t from Fukurōdani as the colors of his jersey were a fruity teal and white - and this made him feel even more uneasy
bokuto knew what he had to do
he had to win you back by being thE COOLEST ACE BOYFRIEND!!
he ran a hand through his hair to it was extra spiky before swaggering up to you; chin up, back straight and chest puffed out
‘sup, doll.’ he said with a wink, forcing his voice to deepen
you sighed, upon hearing this unusual nickname, it didn’t take you long to figure out what was going on
bokuto didn’t even let you reply as he dropped to one knee and gently took you hand - making both you and your brother’s breath hitch in unison, thinking that you were about to witness a proposal and knowing bokuto, that didn’t seem completely impossible
however, instead of pulling out a ring; he pressed a tender kiss against you knuckles before pulling the pair of earbuds you had left at his house yesterday, out of his pocket and lowering his head as he held them out for you
‘i humbly offer these to thee.’
‘how did you go from a pimp to prince in 3 seconds?’ you inquired, snatching your earbuds from him while shooting him a disapproving look
(b/n) couldn’t help but snicker at your boyfriends little performance, ‘i see he’s not changed a bit.’
bokuto hummed, looking over to meet eyes with your brother
(b/n) smiled shot him a warm smile, ‘hi, bokut--’
‘do i know you?’
you instinctively gasped while your brother just laughed, ‘i’m (b/n); (y/n)’s brother. we met once after one of your games, remember?’
bokuto did not remember - at all - but he trusted that it did happen as that’d explain why he seemed so familiar
to avoid appearing any more ignorant, bokuto just nodded in agreement, ‘oh, yeah! it’s all coming back to me now.’ he chuckled awkwardly while getting up from his knee, ‘you just look so different with your jersey on, man.’
you rolled your eyes at how poor bokuto’s lying skills were but perhaps you should be more disappointed in your brother as he actually fell for it
‘oh, for real?’ (b/n) asked, looking down at his chest while wondering if jersey really did the trick
needless to say, bokuto never forgot your brother’s face ever again lmao
Tumblr media
Tetsurō Kuroo
upon exiting the building (after practise) and seeing you conversing with some guy by the school gates, he wasted no time in ripping his shirt off and parading over to you
he mentally reassured himself that he had no need to be jealous bc there was no way you’d leave his fine-ass for some average guy that made you laugh by the school gate-- WAIT YOU WERE LAUGHING!?!? ◉_◉
i mean, kuroo had made you laugh before- but you were just being so nice to this guy who he’d never seen around the school before which stressed him
plus, the guy looked like he was in college so kuroo was extremely worried that you might leave him for an older guy bc he had heard from yaku that some ppl like older men 😭😭
he could not let this happen ✋
his shirt now served as a scarf hanging around his neck as he strutted up to you, placing his hand on your shoulder to grab your attention
he wasn’t sure whether to go for the intimidation tactic or perhaps redirect your attention off of the guy and back onto your dearest boyfriend; so he went with both
‘(y/n)?’ he spoke, lowering his voice so it was more raspy - like his morning voice which he knew you were obsessed with
although kuroo is not ‘chemistry nerd’ smart, he definitely knows how to play his cards right IEFBERGLIEABVR
you hummed in response, swiftly turning to look at him before letting out a cackle upon seeing your half-naked boyfriend standing behind you
‘hey! don’t laugh at me!’ kuroo whined, his mask of confidence quickly shattering
‘put your shirt back on, tetsurō!’ you panted through guffaws, clutching your chest to prevent your heart from beating out of your chest
honestly, it was quite hot but ofc you’d never admit that so you just had to hide your desire behind laughs
while you were laughing, kuroo turned to look at your brother, trying to form a glare but it looked more like a squint tbh
‘and you are?’
(b/n) wore a stunned look at how quickly your boyfriend’s attitude changed, temporarily unable to think up a reaction but then blurted out, ‘(b/n). you?’
(b/n) cocked his head to the side while backing up slightly, ready to make a run for it as soon as kuroo replied
kuroo didn’t intimidate (b/n), per se, it’s just that (b/n) wanted to get as far away from this interaction as possible as it generally made him feel uneasy
‘i’m (y/n)’s boyfriend.’ he said lowly with a menacing smile
‘cool.’ (b/n) voice cracked as he adjusted the strap of his bag before launching off into the horizon on his heels
a smug expression was plastered on his face as he gazed proudly at his work - he had managed to scare off an upperclassman with sheer manliness
by now, your laughing fit had died down and your lips formed a frown as you watched your brother bolt over to his car, hop in and drive away - presumably, back to your home
‘hey.’ you moaned, watching until his car turned a corner and left your vision, ‘he was my ride home!’
kuroo’s soul almost left his body upon hearing you say that, ‘you shouldn’t be getting in cars with crusty, older men anyway!’
you rolled your eyes, ‘he’s my brother, dumbass!’
IEHFBEVJEAU kuroo shut tf up immediately 😶
‘oops- my bad.’ he snickered before jogging out the school gates, ‘have fun walking, babe!’ he threw up a piece sign before disappearing round a corner in a similar way that your brother did
Tumblr media
Kei Tsukishima
tsukishima had just finished practise, he walked out the gym to notice that you were talking to some guy next to the vending machine
he literally almost had a heart-attack bc he thought it was kageyama
but no
IT WAS WORSE
tsukishima never really got jealous when you talked to other guys bc he knew they really had nothing in comparison to him lol
i mean, tsukishima knew he was a catch: he’s lanky, bitchy, tall, rude, emotionally-distant, tall, untrusting, tall, insecure, surly, a horrible cook- did i mention he’s tall?
ok so maybe he wasn’t as much of a catch as he originally thought but the fact he is tall is really the thing that’s holding together his façade of arrogance
so imagine his shock when he sees you happily chatting away to a guy that’s 6″4 !!!!!!
for clarification, tsukishima is 6″2
tsukishima passed away on the spot 💀⚰
he had already logged onto Instagram and removed the ‘Taken 🔒’ out of his bio
there’s no way he’s gonna be able to win you back now  ✌😔
he’s had his time has your tall bf- it’s time to resign
BUT HE WASN’T GONNA GIVE UP THAT EASILY
not before he indulged in some bitchery ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
he practised the scene 10 times in his head before executing it, starting by striding up to you and slipping an arm round your waist, pulling you against his chest
his eyes held a penetrating stare on your brother from above the edge of his glasses, he snickered mockingly as his index finger pushed the frames further up the bridge of his nose
honestly, tsukki tried his best to hide it but he was genuinely quite nervous not only bc he actually had to look up slightly to hold eye contact with the guy - which is something he’s obviously not used to - but also due to the fact he simply could not come up with a good insult for this guy; even though he was usually quite good at spotting people’s insecurities ‘:(
hence, all he could to was produce a deriding chuckle which was aimed towards the guy in hopes that it was make him feel half as insecure as tsukishima was feeling rn
‘what’s so funny?’ you asked, clueless to your boyfriend having an internal breakout while standing right beside you
tsukishima rolled his eyes, realising that the guy seemed unfazed by his dirty looks so it seemed as thought tsukki would have to crack up the pettiness
‘who’s this chump, (y/n)?’ tsukishima leaned in to semi-whisper in your ear, but loud enough so your brother could still hear
‘tsukki!’ you gasped at your boyfriend’s choice of words before scolding him further, ‘that’s my brother- he’s a 3rd year!’
tsukishima paled
he bowed to the point where he was basically a right angle ‘m-, uh, my apologies, sir. i ha-, um, i had no idea you were related to (y/n).’
he was sO EMBARASSED AAAAAAAAAAA
your brother reassured him it was fine but tsukki was apologising for another 5 minutes after that
he promised himself never to get jealous again after that (ಥ _ ಥ) it only leads to trouble
no matter how tall the guy is either-
he swore that if he ever saw a 9″ guy talking to you and it upset him, he’d just close his eyes 😑
he probably should’ve promised to stop running his mouth too bc that’d probably result in a lot less trouble but- baby steps, y’all LMAO
Tumblr media
Keiji Akaashi
i can’t really imagine akaashi as the type to get jealous tbh
and if he does, he deals with it pretty well
like if sees you talking with a guy in a way that bothers him, he’s definitely not confrontational enough to deal with it right there so he’d wait until yall are alone at home or sumn
but you had been acting especially distant lately
so when he spots you hanging with some random guy next to the water fountain, he kinda snaps
he stalked up to you so he could take your hand in his own, asking if he could borrow just a moment of you time so he could talk to you
you accept, of course, wondering what this could possibly be about
he explains how he’s been feeling and you feel quite bad tbh
you weren’t aware that you were detaching yourself from him but you had to blame your schoolwork tbh
once you expressed how schoolwork along with the stress of your job had really been getting you down lately so you asked you brother for assistance, he immediately pulled you into a hug
the last thing he wanted was or it to seem like he was desperate for your attention bc although it was nice, he respected how you had to prioritize other things/people
in fact, he only brought this issue up bc it was beginning to eat him from the inside out - his insecurities telling him that you had lost interest in him and like anyone else, he desired a bit of comfort
you reassured him that you hadn’t ‘lost interest’ in him and you separation as well as you current closeness with you brother was all to do with your workload and hopefully, sometime in the near future, you’ll be able to sit down, relax and just watch a movie with akaashi
that was all fair and lovely but there was still one thing that continued to bother him
‘who’s that guy you were talking to?’ he inquired, gesturing to your brother who was awkwardly standing alone by the fountain
‘my brother.’
‘oh-’

do you know how to do take-aways? (read on ao3) derek x stiles, g, 2.2k, au, meet cute, fluff, kid fic
prompt: call me for @tylerhunklin
--
"Hey Scott," Stiles says, jamming the phone receiver between his shoulder and ear so he can go back to typing with both his hands. "Desk duty is killing me, man, do you know how much of a backlog on paperwork there is in this place? Fucking ridiculous—"
"Stiles," Scott cuts in, “I have a call I need you to take."
Stiles sits up straighter and frowns. "We've got people out on patrol—"
Scott's laughter is warm and familiar in his ear. "No, it's not a patrol thing. I'm gonna transfer it over to you, okay? And I’m still coming to bring you dinner tonight."
"Roger," Stiles says, lazily snapping a salute despite Scott not being able to see him. There's a pause and a click, and he slips back into his professional mode—the one his dad definitely wishes he would use more often. "Beacon Hills Sheriff's Department, this is Deputy Stilinski, how can I help you?"
"Hi," a small voice says. "Do you know how to do take-aways?"
He frowns, glancing over at the display on the phone screen. He'd think it was a joke except he doubts Scott would patch that through, and there's a childish tone to the voice that's difficult to fake. "Like subtraction?" he asks.
"Yeah," the voice says. "We learned it today but I don't remember and I gotta do my homework."
He presses his lips together so he doesn't laugh and slouches, relaxing a little in his seat. "Sure do," he says. "What's your name?"
"Talia Marie Hale," she says promptly, and Stiles scribbles it down on a piece of paper. "How do I do five take away five?"
"Can you put up five fingers?" he asks, and she makes a noise of assent. "Okay, now put five of them down." He hears her counting in the background and he copies the number the shows on his display underneath her name, then clicks over to run it through the system. When she stops, he says, "okay, how many fingers do you still have up?"
"I don't have any," she says. "How do you write that?"
"Zero," he says. "Do you know how to make that? It's like a big o." He waits another moment before asking, "is anyone in the house with you, Talia?"
"Yeah, my auntie," she says. "But I can't ask her questions while she's writing unless it's an emergency."
He can't catch himself before he laughs. "What made you decide to call 9-1-1?"
"My teacher said if you ever need help you can call," Talia says. "And I really need help. What's seven take away three?"
--
The second call comes in three days later. He's peeling apart his turkey sandwich and layering Doritos on it, providing much-needed crunch, when his phone rings through from dispatch. "Sup, Scott," he says, because Scott's the only one who ever bothers to call him directly.
"Sorry, Stiles, just me," Kira says. "I have someone on the line for you. Given that she asked for you by name, maybe you could remind her that this line is for emergencies and talk to her guardian?"
He presses the top slice of bread back onto his sandwich and leans back in his chair. "Got it," he says, and waits for the click. "That you, Miss Hale?"
"Hi, Mr. Deputy Stilinski,"  she says, tiny voice chipper in his ear. "I'm really confused about this take away."
"Hit me," he says, and she giggles.
"Ten take away six," she says. "I put up all my fingers but I got confused."
He hums and glances around his desk. "Are you with your auntie again today?" he asks, and when she confirms he adds, "do you have any toys at her house?"
"I'm at my house," she says. "Auntie watches me while Daddy's away for work, but she's busy writing her thesis so I can't go in the office."
"What's your dad's name?" he asks.
"Derek Samuel Hale," she says. "And my auntie's name is Cora Elizabeth Hale, and my other auntie is Laura Margaret Hale, and my dog's name is Ruffio Hale. Like from Hook. Auntie Cora named him because she said Daddy was scared of Hook when he was my age and she likes to make fun of him. Daddy tried to rename him but he only wants to answer to Ruffio now."
He writes it all down with a grin—even the unasked for information—and flicks at his mouse to wake his computer. "Your aunt sounds pretty cool," he says. "Okay, go get ten small toys and we'll get your math done. Blocks, if you have them."
He runs Cora's name through the system as he waits, just to make sure Talia isn't being left with someone irresponsible, and finds nothing of consequence. He keeps the list, though; he'll tell Talia not to call 9-1-1 anymore unless it's an emergency, and if she does, he'll get in touch with her dad then.
--
"Little red h-hen makes s-sop," Talia reads, and pauses. "That doesn't sound right. What's ou?"
"Spell the whole thing for me," he says, and corrects, "soup," when she does, spearing a piece of microwaved chicken and popping it in his mouth. He's quiet while she reads, only interjecting when she needs help, trying to eat silently in the background. She mostly spells the comprehension questions for him and he reads them to her, and when she finally thanks him and hangs up, he looks up to see his dad standing over his shoulder.
"Hey, Pops, I finished the file on—"
"When did your desk turn in to the homework helpline?" Noah asks, frowning, and Stiles rolls his eyes.
"She only calls on my break, it's fine," he says, waving a hand to brush away the question before picking up the file. "Anyway—"
"Are her parents aware?"
"I left her aunt a voicemail on Monday," he says, and when his dad just looks at him, he sighs. "Fine, I left her a message last Monday and I haven't heard back, but she's not alone in the house, nothing bad is going on, she's just—lonely, I think." It's something he understands; after his mom passed away, he'd started calling Edith, who worked the front desk of the station when he was a kid, every night his dad wasn't home.
"Call again,"  Noah says, "and next time, make whoever is home with her aware of it. Once or twice is fine; every day for weeks is a problem."
--
"Here," he says, and Talia gives him the first letter promptly before pausing and spelling out the rest. "Good job. Um, said."
He might be extending their time on the phone, just a little. He likes talking to her; she reminds him of himself, her elementary drama always makes him laugh, and she likes asking him questions about being a deputy. So he’s not really looking forward to asking to speak to her aunt and put a stop to all this.
When she seems like she’s winding down, he sighs. “I know you’re not supposed to interrupt Auntie Cora,” he says, “but I was hoping to talk to her. Can you tell her Deputy Stiles is on the phone?”
“Oh, Auntie’s not here,” Talia says, and Stiles feels the beginning of a heart attack coming on before she adds, “Daddy’s home now. I’ll go get him.” He hears a thunk and then little feet running, her calling out for her Dad before there’s a muffled thump.
“Hello?”
“Uh, hi,” he says, “this is Deputy Stilinski from BHSD—is this Mr. Hale?”
“This is,” he says, and if it’s possible to fall in love with a voice, Stiles does so right then. Soft and gentle, just a bit of concern, and he has to stop himself from running Derek’s name through the system to get a photo. His dad is already irritated with him for encouraging Talia’s calls (and, you know, for the whole stopping a bank robbery in progress thing that led to the injury that landed him on desk duty), he doesn’t need to add misuse of resources to the list. “Is everything okay?”
He takes a breath and explains, starts from the beginning and includes how he gave Talia his desk number so she would stop calling 9-1-1, makes sure to add that he’d tried to get ahold of Cora—and leaves out the fact he hadn’t called Mr. Hale directly even though he could have easily done so—and when he’s finished talking, he adds, “I didn’t mind, honestly, she just told me today that you were back in town and I wanted to let you know.”
There’s a pause where he holds his breath and hopes that Mr. Hale doesn’t think he’s a creep, or doesn’t demand to speak to the Sheriff—but he just lets out a breath and says “I am so sorry, I’ll absolutely talk to her, it won’t happen again.”
“I really didn’t mind,” he says again, because he also doesn’t want to get Talia into trouble. “She must get home from school at the same time my break starts because she always called at the same time, I wasn’t busy. Just making you aware.”
“Thank you,” Mr. Hale says. “Deputy—” and isn’t Stiles going to have dreams where his name is said like that, low and grateful and—
“Sorry?” he asks, flushing when he realizes he’s lost track of the conversation. “I didn’t catch that.”
“I appreciate what you did,” Mr. Hale says. “I’ll talk to her.”
--
Talia doesn’t call the next day.
She shows up instead.
“Mr. Deputy Stiles!” he hears from the front, and his head snaps up to see a little girl with long dark hair looking around the room, envelope clutched in one hand, the holding onto the hottest man Stiles has ever seen and holy shit, he suddenly believes that karma is very real and he has clearly done something good in his life to earn this kind of reward.
He starts to stand, and her eyes catch his and light up as she tugs her dad towards him. “Miss Hale?”
“Hi!” she says, flinging her arms around his waist. He hugs her back and looks over at her dad, who gives him a sheepish look and shrugs. “I got a hundred percent on my sight words test and Daddy said we could go to ice cream to celebrate and then when we were at ice cream he said we should do something nice for you because you helped me so so so much and I really wanted to come here anyway because I want to see a real jail and Daddy said if I was really really nice and asked politely then maybe you could show me some handcuffs—”
If this is what he’s like, he’s starting to understand why it was difficult for him to make friends in school, because she just does not stop, and doesn’t leave an opportunity for him to get a word in. He crouches down so he’s eye-level with her and waits it out, accepting the envelope when she finally runs out of words and beams at him. “Thank you,” he says, and when he opens it up to find a drawing and a handful of gift cards, he looks up to Mr. Hale. “You really didn’t have to, Mr. Hale,” he says, wrapping one arm around Talia’s shoulders when she darts in to hug him again.
“Derek,” he says, and when he smiles, Stiles is pretty sure he’s found God. “We don’t want to take up your time, I just wanted to thank you.”
“But—” Talia starts, and falls quiet when Derek looks at her again. “I can’t even see the people in the jail?”
“It’s not really a jail,” Stiles says, shrugging, “just a holding cell. And there’s no one in it right now.”
“Boo,” Talia says. “Can I meet your Sheriff?”
“Lia,” Derek warns, and she sighs explosively. “Sorry about—all this. I talked to Cora and she knows to give Talia a little more attention during homework time, so she won’t—she shouldn’t—be calling you again. Talia, we need to get home. Say thank you and goodbye.”
“Bye, Mr. Deputy Stiles,” she says, and he knows—he knows—that her sticking out her bottom lip and pouting is nothing more than a manipulation tactic, but it hits him all the same. “Thank you.”
--
“Deputy Stilinski,” he says before he fully has the receiver to his ear, wadding up a piece of scrap paper and tossing it at Jordan’s head to get his attention. He motions to the pizza box laying on his desk—dinner for the station courtesy of Derek, who clearly didn’t know the going rate for tutors given the sheer amount he’d dropped on gift cards—and makes a grabbing motion. They’ll be having station dinners for weeks—so long as they cater to his busted foot and bring him what he wants. Otherwise, he’s spending it all on himself.
“Hi,” someone says, and “sorry, this is Derek Hale, Talia’s dad?”
“Hey,” he says, sitting up straighter. “How can I help you?”
“I—” there’s a pause and a muffled sound, a conversation happening just outside of what Stiles can hear. “Sorry, I—I wanted to ask if you would be interested in getting coffee on Saturday. With me,” he adds, and Stiles can hear it when he cups his hand over the microphone and says, “Talia, stop.”
It’s like a record scratch in his brain. “Coffee?” he repeats. He’d thanked karma for smiling down on him, but he’d figured the encounter with Derek was one and done. “You want—with me?”
“Yes,” Derek says, “although my daughter is also extremely interested and I believe is willing to fight me for you.”
Laughter bursts out of his mouth before he can stop it. “You know, I think Talia did call dibs first,” he says, grinning. “What if we all got coffee and then you and I went for lunch?”
“I can work with that,” Derek says. “It’s a date.”

NOW WE’RE SINKING
pairing: JJ Maybank x Female Pogue!Reader
summary: You and JJ have liked each other for ages, but neither of you want to admit it. It’s come to the point where you’ve had enough, and you know what could be the last straw - flirting with Rafe Cameron while JJ watches. This time, it might just lead to the conclusion you’ve been wanting.
word count: 2.9k
warnings: underage drinking, mild cursing
additional: angst with the slightest hint of smut; jealous!jj, possessive!jj.
written for a request
requests are open
As per usual, the Pogues throw one hell of a party, and already having had a drink or two, you are having the time of your life.
Next to you is Kiara, chatting to a girl she knows from high school. Both you and the other only female Pogue are wearing jean shorts and a bikini top, the choice that you matched right before going to the beach.
Since Kiara is busy, you walk over to where the boys are. Pope spots you first and he waves at you, offering you a drink straight from the keg.
You accept the drink with a smile. ‘What’s up, Pope?’
‘Oh, nothing much, just trying to get as far away from John B and Sarah as possible.’
  ‘They at it again?’
Pope nods and you see the tiredness on his face. You chuckle and lean to look past him, right where John B and Sarah are eating each other’s faces not twenty feet from you guys.
  Poor Pope, you think.
‘Hey, at least we’ve got the keg.’
He grins and you click your cups, with Pope declaring it for John B and Sarah, but also JJ, who is ‘trying to mack on some Touron,’ as it turns out.
And true to his word, Pope nudges you slightly to the left. Far from you, too far to notice he’s being looked at, JJ is chatting with some random girl, throwing his head back in laughter. You take a big gulp of the beer in your hand, shaking your head.
  ‘Disgusting,’ you say.
‘Yeah,’ Pope agrees, ‘he needs to chill out. It’s like what, fifth girl in the past month?’
  ‘Seventh,’ you reply immediately.
You curse your tongue right after, because none of the other Pogues are paying that much attention to JJ’s antics, and you shouldn’t either. Thankfully, Pope doesn’t catch that, instead just shaking his head in disapproval.
You’re about to say something else—seeing JJ with other girls always gets you riled up—when you spot a familiar face approaching the bonfire, few groups of people away from where you’re standing. The keg is right in front of Pope and you know the boys are going to come here, and quickly, the idea forms in your mind.
Of course, it’s a drunken idea, but it’s enough to get your gears going.
  ‘Ugh, the Kooks,’ says Pope.
‘It’s all right. You can go to Kiara, I’ll handle them.’
Pope nods, but his eyebrows furrow and he hesitates before leaving. ‘You sure?’
‘It’s just Rafe and the boys,’ you say. ‘All talk, no action.’
  ‘Don’t do anything stupid.’
  ‘I promise.’
You’re alone at last, knowing within minutes, you’d be serving beer to the poshest of the Kooks. They’re taking their time getting to you, chatting to people on the way—they’re probably drunk enough already—and your eyes flicker to where JJ is.
He’s still sitting there, talking to the same girl, only now one of his arms is slung over her shoulders. You feel rage bubbling inside you – this is JJ, who is an extremely touchy and flirtatious person, even when he’s not necessarily intending to be. You know exactly what’s going through the girl’s head.
JJ Maybank is hot in a way that very few boys are. His demeanour screams adventure, breaking the rules, but it also screams kindness paired with a good time. Sure, you might be just one of the girls who fell for that, but he’s your best friend.
Plus, you know he has a thing for you, just as much as you have a thing for him. You see it when he looks at you, and you see his gaze linger on your body when you ask if the dress looks good on you, and you see him pay attention to what you look like in the swimming suit.
But he’s playing coy, and so are you. You don’t really know when this whole charade started – you’ve liked him for a long time now, but it’s difficult to say when things started getting heated between you two.
Now, seeing him laughing at whatever the girl is saying, remembering all the times you’d be in her position, away from all the Pogues, and neither of you would do anything—
  ‘Hey, Miss Pogue.’
In front of you, there’s Rafe with Topper and Kelce. He’s dressed in his prep clothing, as they all are, and the smirk on his face tells you he’s most definitely not sober.
  ‘Sup, Cameron?’
Rafe hands you a few bills. ‘Three.’
Your eyes glance to JJ, just for a second, and you catch him looking – Good, you think.
You fill up three cups with beer from the keg and hand them to the boys. It’s supposed to be nothing more than that, except your hand lingers a little when you’re handing Rafe his cup, and your fingers touch.
It’s nothing really noticeable, not to anyone else, but Rafe’s eyes find yours, almost questioning. All you do is smile and look away, before glancing back at him and finding him still fixed on you.
  Your smile grows wider.
  ‘You coming, Rafe?’ Kelce asks.
Rafe doesn’t look away from you, hesitating. Then he turns to Kelce and says, ‘I’ll be with you in a sec.’
Topper and Kelce leave and Rafe comes closer to you. There’s no one wanting a beer at the moment and you’re thankful for that, because that means you won’t need to take your attention away from Rafe.
  ‘Hey,’ he says.
  ‘Hey.’
He grins, the classic Rafe Cameron smile that you’re sure has gotten him laid more than enough times. ‘You know, I thought all Pogues look like they came from dirt, but…damn.’
You giggle, feeling the heat of JJ’s gaze on you, even if the only thing you want to do is slap Rafe’s face.
  Or not; not really.
Here’s the thing with Rafe: he’s a challenge. It’s well known that Rafe has a very specific type of girls he likes, and how he likes them, and a lot of the girls can only dream of being with him. Deep down, you’ve always wondered if you’d be someone he’d consider.
There were times when you thought, if Rafe was interested in you, you might actually be interested in him, too. But now you’re talking and he’s somehow even more annoying and pretentious, unaware of how much of a dick he’s being, and all you can think about is JJ and his arm around that girl.
You glance over, at him, as Rafe is telling you something. He’s sitting with the girl and he’s laughing, and he’s not looking at you anymore, but you know he cares.
The fact that he isn’t looking is saying more than him looking would.
Fine, you think, so be it.
Contrary to your expectations, you spend quite some time with Rafe. He’s a chatty person, but only when it comes to things that are about him, and you listen while half being literally anywhere else. But you like the idea that someone with Rafe’s reputation thinks he can get into your panties, and you like that you’re probably pissing off JJ in the worst way possible.
It might be the alcohol in you, maybe the challenge and the newfound courage (and a little bit of being pissed of with the fact that JJ is still with that girl), but you put your hand on Rafe’s arm as you laugh along to whatever he said.
He looks at you with yet another smirk on your face, and you can tell he’s going to go in for a kiss, soon.
You glance at where JJ is sitting, and you see him, alone at last.
Come on already, you think. I know you’re jealous.
JJ is aware of the game both of you are playing just as much as you are, you are certain of that. He’s taken it further by actually getting with girls, but there’s a difference between JJ sleeping with tourists who none of you are going to see ever again, and you flirting with the Kook Prince right in front of everybody.
Not to mention that JJ and Rafe are sworn enemies, for what it’s worth.
Now, JJ is seething. He’s staring at you and Rafe and you don’t need to see him up close to know that his body is tense, his jaw clenched, and his fingers forming fists.
  That’s hot.
You compare it in your head – Rafe has been trying to seduce you for the past twenty minutes, unsuccessfully, and all it took was one glance at JJ being pissed off at you spending time with Rafe to get you to feel something.
‘How come you’re at a Pogue party?’ you ask Rafe.
He grins, putting an arm around your shoulder. ‘Heard there’s pretty girls on this side of the island.’
You laugh. ‘Hm, I can’t say you’ve heard wrong.’
  ‘You think so?’
‘Maybe.’ You look into his eyes, as his lips, then you look at JJ – but he’s not there. ‘Hey, I forgot my friends asked me to check up on them. I’ll be right back.’
Rafe doesn’t protest and you know it’s because he doesn’t believe anyone would really turn him down. He’s got a reputation and it’s quite a nice one – too bad for him, you don’t care about. There’s only one person whose reputation you care about, and you have no clue where he is.
Moments after leaving your chat partner, you catch Pope chatting to Kiara. You walk up to them, a drink in your hand.
‘Have either of you seen JJ?’
Kiara shakes her head. ‘Why are you with Rafe?’
You turn to answer, but Pope does it for you. ‘She’s trying to get JJ jealous.’
  ‘No, that’s not–’
‘Look,’ Pope says, ‘just get it over with. I’m tired of you two doing whatever it takes to get the other jealous. Just… I don’t know, bang it out, or whatever.’
You swallow the gulp in your throat – what the fuck do I do? – as both Pope and Kiara start to laugh. They reassure you it’s not a big deal, they’ve all known for ages, and the only annoying thing is that you’re both actually sticking to the no-Pogue-on-Pogue-macking rule and in turn making the sexual tension between you two unbearable.
‘Rules are meant to be broken,’ Kiara tells you. ‘We weren’t supposed to be involved with the Kooks, and look at John B.’
That’s exactly what you do, and regret it instantly. He’s still making out with Sarah, not exactly in front of everybody, but clearly in everybody’s line of sight. Sometimes you think they’re doing it because of Topper; sometimes you just envy them with how open they can be about their feelings.
‘Y/N,’ Pope says, ‘go find JJ.’
And that’s exactly what you do.
It’s not the easiest thing to decide to leave Rafe to his own dealings, knowing he’ll probably have a vendetta against you too, now, but you also know there’s a high chance he will just get with some other girl and forget about you in the morning.
Instead, you focus your attention in finding the boy you actually like, even if the alcohol in your veins is making it a little difficult.
You stumble a bit, but not enough for others to notice. Going through the crowd is quite annoying and you’re beginning to feel bitter when you realise JJ isn’t where he was sitting earlier. You’ve got no clue where he is.
You should go look for him, and a part of you wishes you’d do that, but you’re just tired. It’s been months of you and him playing the stupid game, pretending neither of you cares about the other, when everyone around you can tell that’s as far from the truth as it can get.
Why are you even doing it? You realise you can’t remember, and it only makes you huff.
  ‘Rafe Cameron? Seriously?’
You didn’t even notice JJ sit down next to you, but he’s here now. You look at him and see that he’s annoyed with the situation, but so are you.
‘What, are you about to tell me who I am and who I’m not allowed to talk to?’
‘Rafe’s a dickhead, Y/N,’ JJ tells you. He looks away, huffing. ‘You should know better than that.’
You roll your eyes. Usually, you’re quite okay at tolerating the tension between you two, but not tonight.
  Tonight, you’re absolutely failing.
‘God, JJ, get a grip,’ you say. ‘I’m tired.’
  ‘You’re tired.’
  ‘Yes, I’m tired.’
You look at him and you finally take him in – he’s wearing a button-up shirt that’s completely unbuttoned, and the wind is giving you an even clearer view of his torso. His blonde hair is all spiked up and you try to get the imagine of that Touron girl running her fingers through it out of your head, but you can’t.
You look at JJ, and all you can think of is him being with someone else.
  How does it end?
‘Please don’t tell me you made out with her,’ you say.
He chuckles, but he doesn’t smile. ‘What’s wrong with that?’
‘What’s wrong with me talking to Rafe?’
Neither of you say anything, and a part of you wonders if you’ve crossed the line, but mostly, you’re beyond giving a fuck. You want to turn around to JJ, to tell him that you’ve had enough, that this—whatever it between you two—can’t go on, but you don’t.
You just sigh, and lean into him.
He’s taken aback, you can tell, but he wraps his arms around you almost instantly. They’re warm around you, and you next your head in the crook of his neck, and as soon as he rests his chin on the top of your head, you know this is where home is.
  So you say, ‘I’m sorry.’
JJ rubs your shoulders, soothingly. ‘Me, too.’
You look at the bonfire, at all the people, at Rafe talking to someone else, at the rest of the Pogues pretending not to look at the two of you, and you close your eyes.
‘I’m just tired of this,’ you tell him, quietly.
‘Do you want to go back to the Chateau, to talk?’
  ‘That’d be nice.’
And that’s exactly what you do. JJ gives you one last squeeze before letting go of you, but not completely – his hand lingers on yours, and you take him. Screw the rules, holding someone’s hand isn’t that big of a deal.
The two of you walk to the Chateau and it’s quiet in front of the marsh. He wants to go inside, but you make him stay outside, in the open space. The hammocks have always been big enough for two, but now that you’re sitting next to one another, looking out to the dark ocean, it seems all too small.
It’s JJ, and he’s not going to say anything, so you grow a pair and go first. ‘I knew you wouldn’t like me talking to Rafe.’
‘Is that why you talked to him?’
You nod, not looking at him, even if you can already tell by his voice that he knows the answer.
His arm is around your shoulder, the way it was with the Touron girl, but it doesn’t feel the same. It never feels the same when he’s with you – it’s as if he’s not just resting his arm, but pulling you closer, into him, and you let him.
He plays with your hair, twirling it around his finger. You lean against his shoulder, again.
‘I’m tired, JJ. I don’t want to pretend anymore,’ you confess. ‘Everyone knows, anyway.’
JJ doesn’t say anything so you move away from him, just enough to be able to look at him. His face is turned away from you, but you see him biting his lip, and his fingers are still drawing circles on your shoulders.
  ‘JJ,’ you say.
He looks at you. You see the hunger in his eyes, the jealousy, the despair – all the same feelings that are brewing within you.
You lean closer to him, glancing at his lips. ‘How about you kiss me already?’
He does, and it’s chaste at first, nothing like you imagine. His lips are soft against yours and moving slowly, cautiously, until you open your mouth and deepen the kiss. His hands are on your waist and your are in his hair and he’s pushing you down on the hammock, climbing on top of you, and you’re experiencing every since feeling in the world.
Hunger, most of all, and anger at not having done this before. His hands are travelling across your body and you’re tugging at his hair, and the kiss is better than anything you could’ve imagined – this is years of pent up emotions on both ends.
In the end, you’re both panting, out of breath, and he rests his forehead against yours.
He chuckles, and you begin laughing, too.
‘Can’t believe I spent years trying to keep myself from doing this,’ JJ whispers, giving you a chaste kiss. ‘What a fool I was.’
  ‘You and me both, babe.’
He kisses you again, and it’s not long before you’re finally catching up on years’ worth of repressing your emotions, making each other jealous – and you can’t believe what it took to get here was flirting with Rafe fucking Cameron.
Well, he might not be a total waste of space after all.

Concept idea, Dsmp!Seaside au
It's pretty much an au about the Dream smp peeps working at a very very fancy seaside bathhouse, just to be clear, I'm talking about a bar with umbrella and deck chairs, with animation (entertainment) and instructors of different sports, kinda like a village but without the possibility of sleeping there. I hope I made it clear, sorry my English is very rusty.
Also not all Dream smp members are in this list because God there are so many and I can't find enough stuff for all of them to do, plus, I don't follow every single member so I don't want to assume their personality and things they like since I base most thing they do on the content creator.
I'll be mentioning multiple sea sports, if you don't know what they are, I recommend looking it up, just to understand better.
One last little thing, when I say “Bar” I don't mean an American bar, I mean an Italian bar, so in this case, it's a place where they serve toasts, salads, coffee, ice cream, various beverages (both alcoholic and sodas) and usually serve appetizers, so that's why (minor spoiler) Ranboo and Tommy, that are technically minors can work in it, if you have any more questions I'll be happy to answer them!
-Dream: Instructor of every sea and beach sport: Sky surfing, wind-surfing, surf, Scooba diving, beach volley, has competed and won at least one competition for every sport, mainly competitive fast swimmer, is the leader of the “made up” “Dream team”, constant friendly competition between them, main rivalry with Technoblade, kind and dedicated instructor, remembers all the names of every regular student and kinda coaches them, he wants to show and share the passion he has for the sports to kids and adults alike.
-Sapnap: Sky surf, wind-surf and surf instructor, knows how to do every sport Dream does but prefers all the types of surfing, loves beach ball to bits and is very good at it too, second member of the “Dream team”, strict but kind instructor, doesn't wanna do lessons out of laziness but enjoys them in the end, competitive on all the surf sports, they are his main thing. Prefer teaching to adults than to kids.
-George: Teaches lighter sports like sup and canoe, can teach surf but only for kids, knows how to sky surf, windsurf and surf but only does it with the team and on his own, third member of the “Dream team”, mainly teaches to kids since he is nice and funny, the kids really love him, he will join the rest of the “Dream team” on whatever they are doing, he doesn't mind what it is, also a competitive swimmer.
-Technoblade: Lifeguard, sits all day on the tall chair, never under the sun, always wears a t-shirt, usually reads, very fast swimmer, good at every sport, competes with Dream and his team, sometimes against Tommy too, hates staying around children so he asked for two lifeguards that can deal with kids, doesn't talk to anyone apart from other staff, he’ll never admit it but loves when any friend will come by and chat with him, it can get boring to sit on the chair all day.
-Nihachu: Help lifeguard and kids entertainer, makes duo with Jack Manifold, very able swimmer and surfer, likes to take lessons of sky surfing from Techno and George, loves playing and entertaining kids, very kind to everyone and pretty protective of the kids, doesn't like to make them play under the sun in the afternoon, no catching crabs if you don't have the plastic shoes!
-Jack Manifold: Second help lifeguard and kids entertainer, talks to Techno less, kinda fears him tbh, can kinda windsurf and likes surfing, man’s very aggressive when playing beach volley, makes up fun games for the kids and distributes candy behind Niki’s back, also buys ice cream for them often, organizes pranks on the parents with their kids, friendly competitions with everyone that asks in any sport.
-Philza: Manager of the structure, passes his time in the office, when he's bored he plays Minecraft, organizes events, courses, shows... He organizes everything and he's damn good at it, always has ideas on what to change, add or remove to the structure, doesn't take any sport competitively but likes playing rackets, if it's a dead day in the office, he either helps at the bar or sits next to Techno and chats, doesn't get in the water on his own, well he doesn't go in the water often, but when he does he makes sure no one splashes each other.
-Foolish: First office worker, takes care of the stock of the bar, to explain better, he orders everything that is missing or is running low, so food, water and beverages, ice cream, also takes care of broken chairs and tables, or in case any machine breaks, also likes beach ball and Scooba diving, you could see him windsurfing if he has the time.
-Punz and Purpled: Second and third office worker, I'm putting them together because they both worry about tech stuff, so they work on the site of the establishment, they make advertisement and take reservations for the umbrellas, Punz likes windsurf meanwhile Purpled prefers sky surfing, both enjoy normal surf and volleyball, they don't have too much work so you can find them chilling at the beach.
-Eret: Dog caretaker, bartender and kids entertainer, the structure has a small area to leave dogs in if people want, Eret takes care of them, feeds them, makes them play and generally watches over them, but because not everyone wants to leave the dogs there (mostly because the service isn't free) he also helps Niki and Jack with the kids, he likes face panting them and giving small washable tattoos, also very kind the kids, Eret also helps at the bar since he is polite.
-Wilbur Soot: Bar supervisor, he likes bringing stuff to tables though, mostly bright and nice, but will get pissed of at sassy or rude customers, jokes with everyone all the time, likes to entertain customers that remain later in the day with small live performances, will bring Techno snacks throughout the day, loves friendly beach ball competitions, likes scuba diving but has barely any time for it, will surf but doesn't likes it a lot lot.
-Ranboo: Bartender, pretty shy but knows how to do his job, can carry five plates without a tray and without dropping a single one, loves giving water and food to dogs (he also likes to help Eret at the dog playground if he has free time), has a bit of difficulty to talk back to costumers but Will (or Eret if he’s around) usually comes help him with those, doesn't like any water sports and is too lazy to play beach volley, doesn't like to stay around kids either, low key scared of the water, only has told Tubbo and then Tommy that he is actually terrified of deep and blue water, knows how to barely swim, likes chilling in duck or unicorn floaties if in water, doesn't like staying under the sun.
-Fundy: Bartender and cook, well he is not an actual cook, it's a small kiosk that serves toasts and salads, he has very little to do, but someone has to do them so... Mostly relegated to the kitchen so he isn't bothered by people, helps outside if it isn't lunchtime, he prefers Scooba diving over surfing sports, likes chill stuff like sup and canoe, will also go with Puffy in small beaches by boat.
-Tubbo: Scooba diver instructor, the little man looks funny with the oxygen tanks on his back, but watching fishes and corals are his favourite thing, holds excursions both near the coast ( with mask and snorkel ) and in the deeper sea (with oxygen tanks), he relies on Puffy’s boat to bring them out to sea, doesn't like beach ball that much, but likes sup and canoe.
-Captain Puffy: Boat driver and guide of sea excursions, kind, likes having kids on board and allows them to touch the steering wheel when the boat is off, wears a pirate hat, also plays pirate with all the kids, also also tells pirate stories and myths constantly, likes to bring the “Dream team” in more windy places for them to train, looks over them while reading in the sun, also brings Tubbo out in the deeper sea for his Scooba lessons and for private excursions, Ranboo will usually go with Tubbo but stays with Puffy on the boat.
-Tommy: Help instructor (and help lifeguard), he ended up being a helper because he tried being an instructor, but he doesn't deal with people well, so actual instructors (like Tubbo, George or Dream) ask him to demonstrate exercises and helps them by carrying equipment, he‘s pretty good at anything, so anyone can ask him to help for every sport, very competitive for fast swimming and beach ball, he absolutely hates helping at the bar so Wilbur usually puts him behind the counter and leaves him there so people won't talk to him, normally finds Scooba diving pretty boring, but had fun if it's with Tubbo.
-Quackity: Events and games organizer, he likes organizing games to do at the beach and in the bar, for example, card games, beach volley, rackets, darts etc... Of course, all of them have a prize to win, due to strict rules made by Phil, no one can't bet money, doesn't really like water sports so he simply stays on land.
-Slimecicle: Kids and adult entertainer, he is just a funny man that likes making jokes, he is very good at entertaining people of all age, of course, adults are his speciality due to more mature jokes, but can still work with kids, helps Quakity host games, and like Quakity he doesn't love water sports, will go for swims frequently, it helps him relax and de-stress.
-Awesamdude: Entertainer supervisor, he doesn't really entertain people actively, he just kinda looks from a distance and helps if props are missing, is very strict but in a kind way, haven't slept enough? Go nap under an umbrella, not feeling well? Can he bring you anything? Or straight-up go home if you don't feel like it, he does it for both the health of the people and the quality of the entertaining, but he is very nice, will play beach ball but only if asked to, likes to take a mask and a snorkel and stay near the coast, swims to get refreshed by the summer heat.
-Karl: Wild card, the man doesn't have a main thing, he just helps where help is needed, entertaining for kids? Bartender? Help instructor? Captain Puffy helper on excursions? Quakity need a hand with the games? Name it and the man has done it, it's also nice because he sees everyone pretty often, likes lighter sports like sup and canoe but will surf I guess? Just don't make him sky or windsurf, it requires some sort of muscles in the arms and my man doesn't have those, but hey, he will look at friendly competitions and cheer on everyone!
-Hannah: Beach supervisor, due to her immense kindness, she welcomes people, helps find them their spot and checks up on everything, also kinda supervises the instructors because if anyone needs help or has broken equipment (and Karl isn't around) she can help with those, will occasionally surf, also uses the sea to cool off from the heat, she will join a beach ball match if she’s free!
-Badboyhalo and Skeppy: Comedic duo, there is a small stage in the bar and the two put up little comedy skits at lunch, in the afternoon and in the evening before the bar closes, Bad likes to plan skits in advance meanwhile Skeppy prefer improvising, so Bad writes scripts and memorises them, Skeppy doesn't even look at them so what end up happening on stage is that Bad says thought thru lines meanwhile Skeppy just says the first thing that comes to his mind, resulting in Bad yelling “Skeppy!!!” all the times and he just shrugging it off, if you know undertale, they give off Papyrus and Sans vibes, Bad will also yell “Language!” at the other man if kids are present, gets flustered or uncomfortable at Skeppy’s dirty jokes, Bad likes scooba diving and wind surfing, Skeppy instead likes swimming, sky surfing and plain surfing, will compete with Techno and lose all the times, talking about Techno, Skeppy will go to him throughout the day to test his jokes, the pink haired man also helps create some of them, oh and if one makes him laugh, it means its hilarious.
-DreamXD: Owner of the structure, that's it, I guess he is godly at everything he does, but has never shown his face in his own property, only Phil that is the manager has seen him face to face, all the others think that he is just a legend, but Phil smiles every time someone says that because he is actually a god and he does really exists.

Lunch
lmao they’re dorks
“Wait, so you both panicked over the new girls? You both… got confused by them!?” Ryota couldn’t believe what he was hearing. His friends were crushing on the new twin sisters. It also seemed like everyone else was, except for their friend group it seemed. They were the talk of the school, mainly known for their stark white hair. Blue eyes, only barely differentiated by the slightest of shades, where one was more seagreen while the other moreso aqua.
Sayaka groaned, unable to focus on the homework at hand. She was totally, utterly smitten. Whipped. She was crushing on the new girl. The new girl with pretty features and a weird shade of lipstick but oh my God she adored how the girl spoke.
Kirari Momobami was going to be the death of her.
Mary wasn’t faring so well either, absolutely whipped by Kirari’s sister, Ririka. “Sayaka… help me please…,” she whined, pouting while slamming her head against the table. Again. “FUCK!” she yelled. “Why do I keep doing that, dammit!” The blonde rubbed at her temples to alleviate some sort of pain. “Maybe because you’re gay and absolutely whipped for a girl who thinks wearing ‘Poggers’ sweatshirts is cute,” Ryota replied, taking a sip out of his water.
“It is cute, fuck you!” Mary chided, flicking her best friend’s forehead. The boy just snorted and went back to eating his lunch. “Do they have this lunch?” he then asked, looking around to possibly find silvery hair. “Oh, one of them does.”
“WHAT!? WHO!?” two voices yelled, belonging to Sayaka and Mary respectively. “It’s… the one in the sweatshirt…,” Ryota then continued.
In a flash, Mary was gone to talk to her. Or at least attempt to. “Errr…,” Ryota said, just going back to eating. He was maybe possibly terrified of his friend. “I wish Kirari were here… she’s so inviting,” Sayaka complained. Ryota raised his eyebrows as a figure appeared behind Sayaka.
“Oh? You wish I were with you?” a silky voice spoke, causing the ink-haired girl to squeak, and bump her knee on the table. “Shit!” Sayaka yelped, grasping at her now bruised knee. It took her a few seconds to realize she was being asked a question. “Wha- Oh! Kirari! It’s nice to see you!” Sayaka managed, waving at the senior with a small, embarrassed smile.
Whipped.
Ryota tried not to snort at the situation. Seeing his friends having a good time, or rather this sort of time was comforting. It reminded him that they were in fact, human and not just students at a school.
Midari sauntered over after hearing the commotion with her lunch, snorting for Ryota. “Sup. you Sayaka’s new friend?” she asked, a shit-eating grin on her face. She sat on the table and began eating her lunch. Yuriko trudged over soon after, eating her lunch quickly and then promptly snuggling up to Midari. Sayaka rolled her eyes and gave the one-eyed girl a thumbs up.
“Oh hush, you’re totally whipped,” Midari teased. “Not as much as you,” Sayaka retorted.
Kirari only chuckled. “Is she a friend?” the girl asked, raising an eyebrow. “Yes. and ONLY a friend,” Sayaka clarified. “I’d sure hope so. You’re quite the catch, you know.”
It was Yuriko’s turn to snort. She wondered if Sayaka understood the implications of that statement.
“Quite the… beautiful fish in this long vast sea,” Kirari continued, smiling softly. “I do hope we can talk again soon, Sa~ya~ka~.” And then she left.
Sayaka had basically short-circuited after the ‘quite a catch’ statement.
“Was-was she flirting with me?” the girl asked after a few minutes of gawking. Ryota started laughing. “Yes! She was!” he responded. Midari started cackling while nodding and Yuriko gave Sayaka a thumbs-up.
“Oh damn… WAIT! I DIDN’T GET HER NUMBER!” Sayaka shouted, desperately running after the apple of her purple eyes.
Ryota’s lunch was very exciting today.
Mary was getting through the crowd, trying to find a chance to speak to her new friend. She wanted to invite the girl over to her table, maybe get to know her better. Maybe introduce her to her friends!
She bumped into a stranger suddenly, stumbling back a bit. They seemed quite tall. “Ack! What the-” “Mary?” the blonde stopped her sentence in her tracks when she heard the shy voice she was so whipped for. “Riri! I mean Ririka! Hi! I was… just looking for you!” Mary tried, trying to cover up her previous embarrassment with some idle chatter.
“Oh. Was there something you needed?” Ririka asked, a smile forming on her lips. Her lips looked so soft.
Mary was absolutely simping for this girl.
“Oh! Yeah. I was wondering if… you wanted to sit by us today? It’s your first day here and I wanna make sure you’re feeling alright about it all,” Mary requested confidently, trying to put on a mask of ‘I’m a fucking top’ when she really wasn’t.
Ririka thought for a moment. The girl was quite nice, despite her harsh exterior. She was inviting her to sit with her group of friends. Maybe she could finally socialize!
Mary continued. “You don’t need to talk or anything if you don’t wanna. Whatever is comfortable with you!” Mary started scratching behind her neck. This was awkward.
“Sure,” Ririka finally replied, a small flush dusting her cheeks. Mary’s face lit up at this, and it made Ririka feel all bubbly inside.
She kinda wanted to see it again.
“You’re really cute,” the silver-haired girl said, not recognizing the implications of that statement as Mary walked with her to the table. “Wh- uh… Thanks!” she returned, smiling brightly again. Ririka really liked that face. She really wanted to see it again now.
“Where’s Yumeko?” Ryota asked when they got to the table. “I’m pretty sure she has Wind Ensemble right now. “Wind Ensemble? My sister has Wind Ensemble too!” Ririka said, face brightening at the mention of her sister.
“Oh yeah, we just saw her. I’m pretty sure she was flirting with your friend, Sayaka,” Midari interjected, running a hand through Yuriko’s locks.
Gay.
“Probably saw her on the way to the bathroom. I swear my sister has a bladder the size of a pin-pong ball…,” Ririka sighed. She felt comfortable around these people. Maybe it would be a good group to hang out with.
Mary laughed, almost choking on the water she was drinking. “Fucking shit, seriously!?” she wheezed, imagining the prospect of that statement. “Unfortunately. It gets annoying, but we live with it,” Ririka sighed.
“Well. I think Sayaka short-circuited from that one. She also went to get your sister’s number,” Ryota said, drinking some water. He had to stay hydrated, after all.
“Oh yeah! What’s your number? If you want, I can add you to the group chat we’ve made,” Mary asked, pulling out her phone. Ririka saw no reason to refuse. Mary was quite nice to her and made her feel comfortable. Ryota seemed nice enough, same with Midari and the brunette she was currently holding.
“I got it!” Sayaka yelled from afar, sprinting over to the table and panting. She held up her phone triumphantly. “She even took a selfie for the contact picture! I’m adding her to the group chat, if that’s okay of course- oh. Hi Ririka.” the girl sat down on the seat, waving her hand at their new friend. “Hello,” she responded.
“WHIPPED!” Midari yelled, cackling before getting flicked on the forehead by Yuriko for causing too much movement.
“So are you guys… together?” Ryota asked, eyeing the pair on the table. “Nah. she just likes hugs and cuddles,” Midari chuckled. In truth, the girl had been harboring feelings for her sleeping friend for a good 3 years now.
On God, everyone was just waiting for them to get together.
“Alright. I’m gonna go on a run, I have privilege after this so I’m gonna actually use it,” Ryota said, grabbing his gear. “I have privilege too. Mind if I come with?” Mary asked. “Please… I’m doing weighted runs, and I might need moral support for this.”
“How much weight?” Ririka asked, now suddenly interested. “50 pounds,” Ryota replied, sighing in horror at the thought. “You don’t seem to want to do it, why are you doing it then?”
The girl’s seagreen eyes were looking for an answer.
“He wants to be a firefighter, and is training himself to carry the weight while running. It’s been gradual obviously, but he’s taking this leap,” Mary said for him.
“Oh. Good luck. Maybe we can run sometime?” Ririka smiled softly. She was… secretly a gym rat. “Sure! I’d love a running partner!” Ryota gave her a thumbs up and then jogged over to the locker rooms to get changed.
“I’d better go help him. What he’s doing is really hard, so I wanna be there to support him.” Mary smiled, grabbing her backpack. “Wanna come with?” she prompted, giving her newfound friend a solid smile. “I have privilege too, so I don’t mind joining,” Ririka giggled.
“By the way, are you and Ryota together?” the girl finally asked. Mary stared at her new friend for a second, then absolutely bursting into laughter. “Oh HELL no. We dated like 2 years ago and just… no thanks. I love him. He’s my best friend but I don’t love him like that.”
Ririka nodded.
She was so fucking cute.

(Thomas and Remy have been together for a while now, and it’s going well, but there’s one problem. Remy doesn’t know that Thomas has sides.
What happens when Thomas finally tells him the truth? How will Remy react? And will Remy love the sides as much as they love him?)
SHIPS: Sleepmas, Losleep, Sleepality, Rosleep, Sleepxiety, Sleepceit, Dukesleep

Masterpost
Thomas bit his lip, pacing back and forth across the living room floor and wringing his hands. He routinely checked the clock, watching the seconds tick by, getting closer and closer to 2pm. His stomach filled with dread as the sides all watched him walk, a strange mixture of excitement, neutrality, and downright terror.
“Okay… but, like, what if he freaks out?” Virgil spoke up suddenly. “This is a bad idea, one of the worst ideas we’ve ever had. Why are we doing this? We’re just gonna ruin everything. He’s gonna think we’re super weird and dump Thomas immediately, and then we’ll be alone forever.”
Thomas made a pained sound, as did Roman, and Logan sighed.
“Virgil, we don’t know that,” He said calmly. “And, based on prior behaviour, I doubt Remy will react like that. It is more likely that he’ll be confused than anything else. Besides, communication is a necessity in any long-term relationship, it would be unhealthy to keep this from him for much longer.”
Patton nodded eagerly. “Yeah, and Remy loves Thomas, he’s not gonna leave him just ‘cos of this!”
Virgil didn’t look convinced, but he didn’t say anything else, silently chewing his thumb as he sat at the foot of the stairs.
“Do you think he’ll wanna fuck us, too?” Remus grinned, practically bouncing up and down on the spot, and Roman gasped beside him, kicking his brother in the shin.
“Don’t be crude, oh, evil twin of mine, we should focus on the romance!” Roman said. “And, besides, you’re the ugly one, anyway.”
Before this could escalate into a full-on brawl – which it likely would have, given how most arguments with the twins turned out – Deceit intervened, two extra arms appearing at his waist, stretching out and pushing the brothers apart. Fortunately, Thomas was too busy stressing out to notice, or he might have actually thrown up.
All of a sudden, they heard a knock at the door – three raps, and then the doorbell rang.
It was Remy.
Logan straightened up, adjusting his tie. “We’re sticking to the plan,” He said, leaving no room for disagreement. “We’ll all sink out, and then, when Thomas cues us, I will appear, and we will explain the situation to Remy. If he is agreeable, Patton can appear, too, and possibly Roman. We do not want to overwhelm him.”
The doorbell rang again, and Thomas rushed over to the door. He looked back at his sides, watching them all sink out – some wishing him good luck, but most just disappearing without a word – before opening it, and coming face-to-face with his boyfriend.
“’Sup, babe,” Remy greeted, before his brow pinched together, and he tilted his head. “You look stressed. You good?”
“Yup!” Thomas answered, his voice just a little too high, and not convincing either of them.
Remy nodded slowly. “Uh huh… sure. You wanna talk about it?”
“Later.”
His boyfriend didn’t look like he believed that, either, despite it being the honest truth, but he didn’t press, instead lifting the two to-go cups in his hands.
“I brought coffee.”
Thomas smiled genuinely as Remy handed him the cup, taking a large sip with a content sigh, and stepping to the side so his boyfriend could enter the apartment. There were a few moments of silence, and that was when Thomas noticed that Remy was staring at him.
“What?”
Remy let out an exaggerated gasp. “Wow, I’m out here looking like a snack and you’re just not going to kiss me? Rude.”
Thomas couldn’t help but laugh, leaning down and pecking his (short) boyfriend on the lips. When he pulled back, Remy gave him one of those soft smiles that made his heart do cartwheels in his chest (and maybe Patton was doing cartwheels in the mindscape, too, there was really no way to tell).
Remy took Thomass hand, tracing random shapes across his palm with his finger.
“So,” He began. “Are you gonna tell me what’s up, or am I gonna have to guess?”
Thomas tried not to panic and freeze at the question, he really did, but Remy noticed anyway, looking back up at him with concern.
“I need to tell you something,” Thomas admitted. “It’s nothing bad, it’s just… there’s something about me that you need to know, and you’re probably gonna want to sit down for this.”
He led Remy over to the couch, and they both sat down.
“I, uh…” Thomas trailed off. He sighed; this was going to be hard to explain. “Just- um…”
He waved his hand, deciding to just rip off the band-aid, without any preamble, and Logan rose up in his usual spot. Remy jolted so hard he almost fell off the sofa, and Thomas only just managed to catch his sunglasses in time, as they’d slipped right off his face. He tried to hand them back, but Remy wasn’t paying attention to him, instead, he was staring at Logan, wide-eyed and perplexed.
After a moment or two, Remy began to look back and forth between Thomas and Logan, as if comparing them, and they waited patiently for him to finish.
“Okay, uh…” Remy said, running his fingers through his hair, messing it up even further. “What?”
Thomas wanted to fix it for him, to pull him close and reassure him that he wasn’t insane, but he was worried that Remy wouldn’t react well, so he resorted to just staring at him instead.
“I am Logan, it is nice to finally meet you,” Logan introduced himself, stepping forward and holding out his hand for Remy to shake.
Remy did so almost immediately, wanting to check if Logan was really there, and looking rather startled when he realised that he was, in fact, real. His hand was soft, just like Thomas’s, though a little bit cooler, and Remy’s touch lingered as he found himself wanting to just keep holding that hand and never let go (like he often felt with Thomas).
Logan’s face had turned pink by the time that Remy pulled away, and he cleared his throat in an attempt to regain his composure.
“I am one of Thomas’s sides, the physical representation of his logical thinking and knowledge.”
Remy nodded along as if he understood. “Uh huh, okay… what does that mean?”
“I’ve found that comparing our situation to that of Riley’s in the movie ‘Inside Out’ is the easiest way to explain it to others,” Logan explained. “Just, instead of emotions, we represent more complex concepts such as Logic, Morality and Creativity.”
“Is that why you made me watch Inside Out with you last week?” Remy glanced at Thomas, and his boyfriend gave him a slightly sheepish smile and a nod.
“You’re taking this remarkably well,” Thomas commented.
Remy shrugged. “This isn’t the craziest shit I’ve ever seen.”
“It isn’t?”
“I’ll tell you ‘bout it later, babe,” Remy said, patting Thomas’s arm. “So, how many sides are there?”
Logan took a step closer. “Right now, there are six of u-”
Before he could finish that sentence, both Patton and Roman popped up in their usual spots, making Remy jump, though he didn’t look nearly as startled as he had when Logan had first appeared. They both looked ecstatic, and, frankly, lovestruck.
“Hi, I’m Patton!”
Patton looked like he wanted to hug Remy – and he did, desperately – but he didn’t want to overwhelm him, so he stayed by the curtains. Roman, apparently, had no such qualms, rushing forward and taking Remy’s hands in his own. This was the first time he was seeing Remy with his own two eyes (not just through Thomas’s), and he was too gay to think straight.
“Oh, my stars, you’re gorgeous!” Roman breathed, and, before he could stop himself, he continued with: “I’m in love with you.”
For a moment, Remy looked surprised, and then his expression melted into the soft smile that he usually reserved just for Thomas. In any other situation, Remy looking at someone else like that would have made Thomas feel jealous, but Roman wasn’t really ‘someone else’, was he? He was a part of Thomas, and if Remy could love Thomas as a whole, which he did, very much, he could love all his different parts, too.
Things were going to be okay.
***
“I do not have any feelings or emotions; I am only in a relationship with you because Thomas is. It just makes logical sense,” Logan said matter-of-factly, adjusting his glasses.
“Sure,” Remy said. “Does that mean you want me to get out of your lap?”
Logan instantly tightened his grip around Remy’s waist, pulling him closer. “Of course not.”
Remy smirked, tilting his head up to look at him. “Aww, does that mean you love me?”
“I do not feel love.”
Remy pouted, and, even though Logan knew it was fake, he still immediately had the urge to take it back, so the smile that he adored would return.
“Okay, fine, I love you,” He admitted.
One of Remy’s hands reached up to carefully cradle Logan’s face, the other resting in the centre of his chest, over his tie – ready to, at any moment, use it to pull Logan closer and capture his lips in a kiss, as he often did.
“I love you, too,” Remy smiled. “My shooting star.”
Logan’s cheeks reddened at the nickname – just like he knew they would – and Remy’s smile widened.
“You’re adorable,” He said.
“Falsehood.”
“You are,” Remy insisted, sitting up straighter so they were almost nose-to-nose, bumping Logan’s glasses. “You.” Kiss. “Are.” Kiss. “Adorable.”
He then kissed him again, this one lingering longer, before Remy finally pulled back. Logan couldn’t help but chase his lips, and Remy smirked again, making Logan blush just a little bit more.
“See,” Remy tucked a stray strand of hair behind Logan’s ear. “Adorable.”
***
“Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Now try this one,” Patton beamed, holding out another cookie just in front of Remy’s lips.
Remy opened his mouth obediently, taking a bite and chewing it slowly.
He and Patton had spent the last few hours baking a variety of sweet treats in Thomas’s kitchen. If you asked Patton, he would say that it was a team effort. If you asked Remy, however, he would say that Patton had done most of the work, as Remy had no idea how to bake. He wasn’t complaining, though, not in the slightest, especially not when Patton came up behind him, covering Remy’s hands with his own to guide him.
Remy swallowed. “It’s good,” He said. “Sweet.” And then he grinned. “Though not as sweet as you, sugar.”
Patton giggled, delighted.
“Not too sweet?” He asked.
“Never.”
Patton laughed again, poking Remy’s nose. “I was talking about the cookie, silly!”
“Oh, yeah, they’re good, too.”
“Do you think Thomas will like them?” Patton asked.
Remy tilted his head, his sunglasses slipping down his nose – revealing his distractingly gorgeous baby blue eyes – as he gave Patton an amused look. His hair flopped to one side, and Patton reached out to fix it.
“I’m pretty sure you know him better than I do, hon.”
“That’s true,” Patton said, before popping the rest of the cookie into his mouth. He chewed slowly, before smiling again. “I think Thomas will like them.”
***
Thomas flung the front door open, smiling when Remy stepped inside, immediately taking Thomas’s hand, squeezing it, and planting a kiss on his boyfriend’s cheek.
“Morning, babe,” He greeted.
“Hey,” Thomas said. “I’ve gotta get back to work now – Logan and Roman are helping me with a new video idea – but Virgil’s out, so you can hang out with him, for now.”
Remy grinned, taking off his sunglasses and placing them on top of his head, knowing full well that Virgil was weak for his eyes, and intending on taking full advantage of that fact. To be fair, all of them loved Remy’s eyes, and, upon seeing them, Thomas couldn’t help but lean down and kiss him properly.
When they pulled apart, Remy stepped around him, into the apartment, strolling over to the couch, where Virgil lay, scrolling through his phone. It didn’t really make sense that Virgil had a phone, but nothing about the sides ever really made sense, so Remy chose not to question it, instead flopping into Virgil’s lap without warning, grinning when the anxious side instinctively sat up, wrapping his arms around him.
“Mornin’, handsome.”
Remy’s smile widened as Virgil’s face turned pink. He remained flustered for another moment or two, before he calmed himself down and rolled his eyes.
“Not a very accurate compliment, babe.”
Remy shushed him, covering Virgil’s mouth with his finger. “Nope, nuh-uh – you can’t insult my boyfriend like that. I won’t allow it.”
Virgil snorted, taking Remy’s hand away from his face and intertwining their fingers.
“Are you just here to keep me distracted so I don’t keep bothering Thomas about the new video idea?” He asked dryly.
“I’m here because I wanna snuggle with my very gorgeous boyfriend,” Remy corrected, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to the tip of Virgil’s nose. “And also make out with him. Any distraction from bugging Thomas is just a bonus.”
Virgil rolled his eyes again. “You’ve got seven boyfriends, why choose to sit on my lap?”
“Technically, I only have one boyfriend.”
“Wow, big word. Logan would be so proud of you.”
Remy poked Virgil’s shoulder. “Don’t be rude. And I’m sitting in your lap because I love you and I want to, plus you’re, like, super warm.”
“We’re all warm.” There was a beat. “I love you, too.”
Remy grinned again. “Great. Wanna make out?”
***
Remy absent-mindedly scrolled through his phone. Thomas was upstairs, looking for something, and would likely remain there for another few minutes, at least, so his boyfriend was just looking for a way to pass the time.
Then, suddenly, he heard the familiar whooshing sound that meant a side had just risen up. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw light blue, and a bespectacled man standing by the curtains. Remy snorted quietly.
“You know that doesn’t work on me, darlin’.”
Deceit pouted – a very Patton-like expression, most likely deliberate – and then crossed his arms in a manner that was decidedly not Patton, which would have given him away, if Remy hadn’t already seen through his disguise.
“What did I do wrong this time?”
Remy looked up from his phone, giving Deceit a once-over. He then shrugged. “I dunno. You’re just… different, I guess.”
Deceit sighed, running his fingers through his hair, and, in the blink of an eye, he was back to his normal snake-like self, his hat in his hand. He placed it on his head, but, before he could say anything else, Remy had jumped off the couch, reaching up on his tiptoes and plucking the hat back off his head with a grin. He only just managed to run his fingers through Deceit’s hair, which made the lying side smile, as, even though he was the shortest side, Remy was still much shorter than him, which was, honestly, adorable.
“You’re cuter without the hat,” Remy teased, placing it on his own head. “It looks better on me.”
And how was Deceit supposed to not kiss him when he looked like that? Wearing Deceit’s hat and grinning up at him in that way reserved just for them.
He didn’t get the chance to, though, as Remy kissed him first, standing up on his tiptoes and wrapping his arms around Deceit’s neck. Remy tugged him as close as possible, humming quietly against Deceit’s lips.
***
The moment Remy stepped into the apartment, he was swept off his feet, scooped up into Roman’s arms, and twirled around – once, twice, thrice. Remy’s sunglasses almost fell to the ground, but he caught them just in time, tucking them onto his t-shirt collar.
“How are you, on this fine morning, my radiant Sleeping Beauty?”
Remy sighed, wrapping one arm around Roman’s neck, the other hand clutching his half-empty coffee cup.
“Ugh, the barista at Starbucks was, like, so rude to me, this morning,” He complained, pouting slightly, but relaxing. “She just kept glaring at me.”
Roman clicked his tongue, but he couldn’t help but grin.
“Would you like me to fight her for you, my love?” He offered.
Remy snorted. “I’m pretty sure the cops would get called if you showed up at Starbucks with your sword, Prince Charming. Thomas would end up behind bars, and then who would take me into their arms and kiss me every day?”
“That’s the real tragedy,” Roman said, leaning closer to kiss Remy.
“Get a room!” Virgil shouted from the couch.
“You’re just jealous that Remy loves me more,” Roman joked.
Remy stretched his legs, reclining in Roman’s arms. He grinned. “Now, now, boys… there’s enough of me to go around. Besides, I don’t pick favourites.” He paused for a moment. “And, if I had to, I’d pick Thomas.”
Roman stuck his tongue out at Virgil, who rolled his eyes.
“Come on,” Remy smiled at Virgil over Roman’s shoulder. “Aren’t you gonna come give me a kiss, too, gorgeous?”
***
If he had been with anybody else, Remy would have scowled at the loss of his sunglasses. But he was with Remus, and he was used to this, so instead he just smiled, tilting his head up to meet his boyfriend’s eyes.
Remus dropped the sunglasses on the couch beside them, grabbing Remy’s face – a little roughly, but not hard enough to hurt.
“I want to steal your eyes.”
This probably would’ve alarmed Remy, but he was used to this kind of language from Remus, so instead he just laughed quietly, poking Remus’s shoulder.
“I think I’d rather you didn’t, pumpkin,” Remy said. “I kinda need them. How else am I supposed to admire your gorgeous face?”
Remus nodded, humming. “Good point.”
He ran one finger down the side of Remy’s face, the other hand holding his face in place as he stared into Remy’s eyes. Perhaps this should’ve been uncomfortable, but how could Remy feel anything but comfort when he was curled up in Remus’s lap, half under a blanket, with some horror movie that neither of them were paying attention to playing in the background.
“I’m gonna copy them,” Remus decided finally.
“Copy them?”
Remus nodded eagerly, his thumb resting just below Remy’s left eye. “Uh huh! I’m gonna make copies of your eyes that I can keep with me even when you’re not around.” Suddenly, he gasped, and then grinned. “I wonder what they’ll taste like.”
Remy wrinkled his nose. “Gross.”
Remus took that as a compliment, as Remy knew he would.
“Thanks!” He exclaimed, one hand moving to squeeze Remy’s waist, before pulling him into a predictably messy kiss.
***
Remy hadn’t meant to stop in the middle of the hallway, but he was distracted very easily, and, after pausing mid-step to read a text, he ended up standing there for almost five minutes. He didn’t look up when he heard footsteps behind him, and when he felt a hand on the small of his back, he knew exactly who it was.
“Hey, babe,” Remy greeted, his eyes remaining on his phone screen. “Just one sec, I’m arguing with my mom.”
“How can you always tell when it’s me?” Thomas asked.
Remy shrugged, finishing his text, before stuffing his phone back into his pocket. He then turned and wrapped his arms around Thomas’s neck.
“I dunno,” He said. “It’s just… obvious.”
“What, have you got like a… sixth sense for it, or something?” Thomas joked.
Remy laughed. “Nah, I’m just perceptive like that.”
He then kissed Thomas, quick and soft, before pulling back slightly. There was a beat, and then Thomas grinned, a glint that screamed either Remus or Roman – there wasn’t time for Remy to decipher it – in his eyes. Before Remy could question it, Thomas dipped him with a laugh that was absolutely Remy’s favourite sound.
He kissed him again and again and again and then once more on his neck to make him laugh.
“Did Roman tell you to do that?” Remy asked, his sunglasses slipping to reveal eyes that were so bright and happy that Thomas’s heart felt just a little too big for his ribcage.
“I can decide to do things on my own, you know,” Thomas teased.
Remy raised an eyebrow.
“Okay, fine,” Thomas admitted. “But Roman wasn’t actually the only one telling me to do that.”
“I’m sure.”
A moment passed, and then Thomas’s smile softened. “I love you so much, we all do.”
“I know,” Remy said, one hand moving up to cradle Thomas’s face. “I love you, too.”

Lukadrien: Your Hands Hold Home: Chapter Seventeen
@lukadrien-june
Read it on AO3: Your Hands Hold Home: Chapter Seventeen: Broken Families
“Sup, G Flat,” Xavier-Yves greeted as he descended the stairs into the main cabin of the Liberty.
Adrien grimaced but mentally reminded himself to be nice for Luka’s sake.
“Hi, XY. Luka’s actually not here right now. He’s out with the Capitaine, and I don’t think they’ll be back soon,” he informed, hoping that that would be the end of his exposure to the popstar for the day.
XY shrugged, taking a seat on the opposite limb of the L-shaped couch from Adrien.
“That’s okay,” XY assured as he made himself comfortable, spreading out like a starfish and pulling his laptop out of his bag. “You probably don’t know this because you’re still pretty new here, but I have the okay to just kick it here whenever I want.”
Adrien nodded, internally cursing his lot in life. “I see. That’s cool.”
“Yeppers,” Xavier-Yves agreed, barely paying Adrien any mind as he started up his audio editing program.
Adrien set aside the book he’d borrowed from Luka, seeing that he wasn’t going to get any more reading done in XY’s presence.
“How long do you think you’ll hang out?” Adrien inquired, trying to sound interested rather than rude and impatient for Xavier-Yves to leave.
XY shrugged. “I dunno. Maybe a couple hours? Probably until this evening.”
Adrien mentally swore.
“I’m hiding from my dad,” XY added voluntarily.
Adrien frowned. “Why?”
XY clicked his tongue. “He’s trying to set me up with some actress. You know. For publicity and all that.”
Adrien shuddered. “My father made me do that a couple times. I’ve always hated that kind of thing.”
“Dude, I know!” XY exclaimed, looking up from his computer screen. “Sucks, right?!”
Adrien nodded. “I mean, some of the girls were okay, and I may have even been able to like one or two of them in earnest if we’d met more naturally and it had been our decision to date, but…those arrangements are so staged. I always resented them as just one more thing Father was making me do against my will and completely ignoring my wishes about.”
“Tch. Yeah,” Xavier-Yves scoffed. “Trust me. I hear you.”
Just as suddenly as the conversation started, it ended, and XY seemed to go back to his laptop.
Adrien gave his book a sidelong look, debating whether to take it up to the deck to continue reading in peace.
Before he could come to a decision, XY broke back into Adrien’s thoughts.
“…So…you’re bi or what?”
Adrien gave a start. “What?”
“You said you could have liked some of the girls your dad made you date,” XY explained, “but I always thought you had a thing for Luka…so are you bi or in denial or what?”
Adrien stared at his love rival for a moment, trying to determine whether he should be affronted by XY’s abrupt demands for personal information.
Xavier-Yves looked at Adrien expectantly with seemingly no malice or agenda hidden behind his words.
It was then that Adrien remembered what Luka had told him about XY’s penchant for coming across as rude due to his lack of normal socialization—something Adrien could, unfortunately, relate to.
Adrien decided to take XY’s question in good faith and answered, “I think I’m probably bi.”
XY cocked an eyebrow. “What do you mean you think you’re bi? Isn’t that something you just know?”
Adrien shifted uncomfortably under Xavier-Yves’s scrutiny. “I think it’s confusing because the media really only shows men and women ending up with one another, so that’s how I thought it had to be when I was growing up. I didn’t realize guys were actually an option until later, and I’ve mostly just been interested in girls so far. I mean, I can tell if a guy is attractive, but Luka’s the only guy I’ve ever been attracted to in practice, not just in theory.”
XY blinked several times, trying to parse Adrien’s response. “…So…you’re bi?”
“At least as far as Luka’s concerned,” Adrien confirmed with a shrug.
“You make my head hurt,” XY announced. “You’re just thinking about it too much.”
“Maybe,” Adrien chuckled, musing that XY might have accidentally stumbled upon the truth.
Xavier-Yves shook his head. “I’ve always known I was gay. I never even looked at girls as a kid.”
Adrien’s eyes widened. “I-I’m sorry. I always assumed you were bi. Well…after I found out about your feelings for Luka, anyway. Until then, I thought you were straight.”
XY rolled his eyes and waved dismissively. “That’s because my dad says I have to stay in the closet.”
Adrien’s jaw descended several centimeters. “He what?”
XY nodded, setting his laptop aside and angling more towards Adrien. “My dad says that gay doesn’t sell and that all of my fangirls will stop buying my music and coming to concerts if they find out I only like dudes, so I can’t tell anyone I’m gay.”
Adrien blinked dumbly, finding himself wondering if his own father would react similarly if he found out about Adrien being queer. A lot of people in fashion were, so maybe it wouldn’t be a big deal, but…somehow, Adrien got the feeling that Gabriel would probably prefer it if Adrien kept that fact to himself and found a nice female partner.
“…I’m sorry,” Adrien mumbled, suddenly seeing past the annoying, inconvenient aspects of XY to the very real person with problems and feelings and dreams underneath.
XY shrugged. “Is what it is. Just don’t you go tellin’ people.”
“I would never do that,” Adrien was quick to assure.
XY gave a snort as he nodded. “Good.”
“…So…you’re not allowed to date?” Adrien inquired, morbid curiosity getting the best of him.
XY shook his head. “Nah. Dad would flip. It’s okay, though. I’ve never been really into anyone before, so it was, like, whatever.”
Adrien’s eyebrow arched. “What about Luka? You seem pretty into him.”
“Luka’s different,” Xavier-Yves confirmed with a passionate punch to the words. “He’s the one, you know?”
Adrien dropped his gaze, wilting slightly because he knew that fact all too well.
“I’d come out, if he wanted me to,” XY continued. “I don’t know. Luka’s kind of quiet and private, so I don’t know if he’d want to make it all public, but he’d at least want to tell his friends who he was seeing, so it would get out there eventually. I wouldn’t care, though. He’s worth it.”
“You really care about him a lot,” Adrien whispered.
“You bet I do,” XY insisted. “You know how annoying and dumb I am.”
Adrien’s head jerked up at the blatant self-deprecation.
“Not a lot of people like me. A lot of people pretend to because they want something, but they don’t actually like me,” XY snorted.
Adrien suddenly felt a chill at hearing circumstances that so closely echoed his own.
“Luka didn’t like me at first, and he had a good excuse not to, but instead of telling me to get lost when I came to ask him to teach me about loving music, he put up with me,” XY recounted with a soft look of gratitude and affection in his placid blue eyes.
“He was really patient, and he taught me and helped me be a better person. My dad taught me a lot of bad things.” His eyes dropped to the floor as he confessed his past shortcomings. “I didn’t know they were bad until Luka told me so…so I owe him a lot. I’d do anything for him.”
Adrien nodded passively, averting his gaze as he wondered if Luka wouldn’t be better off with XY than himself.
Xavier-Yves could give Luka fortune and industry contacts, and while “Roth” wasn’t the most well-liked surname in Paris, it was worlds ahead of “Agreste” which had become synonymous with “dirt” a month previously when Papillon’s identity had been revealed.
Maybe Adrien should step aside romantically and focus on being a good, supportive friend to Luka.
“I’d do anything for him,” Xavier-Yves repeated solemnly, “…even if that meant bowing out and supporting his happiness with you.”
Adrien’s head jerked up again, and he gaped at XY in disbelief. “What?”
XY shrugged. “The most important thing is that Luka is happy, yeah?”
Adrien nodded, still not understanding. “Yes. Absolutely. But…what does that have to do with me?”
XY shook his head. “You’re important to him. We’re both really important to him. I can’t tell you how many times he’s asked me to try to play nice with you these past few weeks because he wants us both in his life, and he wants us all to get along.”
Adrien’s lips rounded into a small “o”.
XY nodded. “I want him to be happy. Even if you win, I want him to be happy, so I’m gonna try to be friends with you because it’s important to Luka.”
Adrien slowly began to nod. “Okay. I can’t promise I’ll ever really like you much, but I’m going to tolerate you for Luka’s sake. So, let’s make this work, okay?”
“Deal,” XY agreed with a wide grin, holding out his fist to Adrien for a fist bump.
Chuckling, Adrien leaned forward and touched his fist to XY’s.
“…So,” Xavier-Yves remarked after the moment had passed. “Wanna watch a movie or something?”
Adrien shrugged. “Sure. Why not?”
“How good’s your English?” XY asked, grabbing his laptop and opening up his video library.
“Not fluent, but I should be able to watch a movie without subtitles,” Adrien replied, moving to sit next to Xavier-Yves.
XY looked up at Adrien and tipped his head to the side. “You ever heard of Abbott and Costello?”
Adrien frowned, searching his memory banks. “…The comedy duo?”
XY nodded enthusiastically, a wide grin quickly spreading from one cheek to the other. “They’re super dope. You’ll love them. Let’s watch In Society. It’s got one of my favourite routines.”
“All right,” Adrien easily agreed, reasoning that he owed it to Luka and himself to make an effort. “Sounds good.”
A little over an hour later, Luka returned to find Adrien and Xavier-Yves in a pile on the couch, leaning on one another to keep themselves upright as they chortled, “He’s not dead, Lady! He’s hiding!”
“I see you showed him Abbott and Costello?” Luka remarked, announcing his presence.
XY pushed himself up to grin adoringly at Luka. “Yeah. We were just thinking about watching another. Wanna join us?”
“Sure,” Luka chuckled, coming around to their side of the couch.
Adrien scooted over to make room for Luka between himself and XY.
“After all, it’s not every day that two of my best friends are able to spend time together without wanting to kill one another. We should do something to celebrate,” Luka reasoned.
“We’re not that bad. We just…verbally snipe at each other sometimes,” Adrien giggled, quickly snuggling up to Luka at exactly the same moment XY wrapped his arm around Luka’s shoulders.
“Yeah,” XY seconded. “The only friend of yours I want to kill is that Jacob loser.”
Luka groaned, rolling his eyes.
Adrien lifted his head to look around Luka at Xavier-Yves. “Jacob?”
XY nodded. “That bassist in his band. He’s Luka’s ex.”
Adrien quirked an eyebrow. “We can’t be civil with Luka’s exes?”
XY’s eyes narrowed. “Jacob’s one of the four he slept with.”
“Oh,” Adrien replied flatly, his opinion abruptly changing.
“Yeah. Those ones are dead to me,” Xavier-Yves snorted.
“Can we not talk about my love life?” Luka sighed, tipping his head back to stare up at the ceiling. “It’s really not that interesting. Let’s watch the movie.”
XY clicked his tongue. “I beg to be different. I am super interested in the people you’ve slept with.”
“Prune,” Luka groaned. “Drop it. I’ve been the adult in this household since I was ten. I’m allowed to sleep with whomever my little demi heart loves.”
“Would you sleep with me?” XY wondered curiously.
Luka’s cheeks flushed as he pointedly avoided Xavier-Yves’s gaze. “No comment.”
“Would you sleep with him?” XY pressed, jabbing a finger at Adrien.
Luka choked on air, making a wheezing sound of distress.
“No comment,” he managed with some effort.
“How about a threesome?” Xavier-Yves suggested amicably.
Adrien burst out laughing, snuggling in closer.
“For the love of whatever you hold sacred, start the movie already before I strangle you,” Luka pleaded.
“I could be into that,” XY replied, waggling his eyebrows.
Luka threw his hands up in the air, exclaiming, “Aaaaah!”
This caused Adrien to laugh even harder.
XY joined in.

Note
I got another request! So, Jason is Red Hood at the time when he sees Marinette clutching a backpack (it has the miraculous box inside and some essentials and clothing) as she was falling from a portal (even tho a cloud was covering it so it looked like she was falling from the sky) into a river. He jumps in, saves her, and says something like "Holy sh*t I just saved an angel" He stays hidden for 2 weeks helping her until the fam meet her. [Anything you want from here but end goal is daminette]
It was close to midnight when the Red Hood notice that something was up. Little did he knew was that his next encounter with someone would have changed his entire life. He looked up to the cloudy night sky that always plagues Gotham, nothing felt out of the place. Well, the moment lasted into his begins to see a silhouette of someone falling from the sky. The person was coming down fast, real fast.
Rushing to what he presumed to be the persons landing grounds, he failed to realize that the person wasn’t going to reach the cold hard concrete ground but the river not far from him. As the person was falling quickly than anticipated, he ditched his jacket and ran towards the river.
Splash. Splash.
He breaks for air pulling the formerly falling person with him to shore. Back on dry land, the Red Hood was finally able to get a good look at the person he saved.
“Holy shit, did I just save an Angel?” He whispers to himself brushing back strands of dark hair that clings to the girl’s face.
Looking around for any signs of help coming, he picks the girl up into his arms and disappears into the night, not caring that it was his night to patrol.
Marinette woke up the next day with a massive headache. Quickly leaning upward, she calls out for Tikki as she searches through the blankets looking for her backpack. It hasn’t registered to Marinette that wasn’t at home nor was she in Paris anymore.
Tikki flies up to Marinette, giving the panic guardian a sense of reassurance.
“Where am I? Kaalki?” Marinette finally takes in her bearings as she touches face noticing the lack of glasses that is the horse miraculous.
“Kaalki’s fine, Marinette. Your entry coming here was rather shaky.” Tikki states keeping close to Marinette as the realization hits her. Turning to the side table, Marinette sees the horse miraculous and puts.
“Kaalki, where did that portal send us?” Kaalki finally appears but she scoffs and looks around the room.
“The portal sent us to a place called Gotham. In the Americas, apparently.” Kaalki answers before flying off to who knows where.
“Gotham, like in the Batman comics?” Marinette says before groaning resting her hand over her forehead and lay back down. All she could do is think, how was this possible.
“Hey Angel from the sky, you alright in there?” A voice startles her out of the bed. She stares at the tall muscular man in front of her. He has a turf of white in his dark hair, blue eyes, and wearing the worst kind of leather jacket she has ever seen in her life.
Racking through her brain, she tries to find the words to say in English, “Uh… and you are?”
“I should be asking you the same, but the names Jason, and you look like someone who has been trucked over, twice,” Jason says cautiously take a few steps forward.
Marinette’s shoulders relax. “I’m Marinette.”
Marinette walks over to Jason, shaking his hand, thus creating one of the most cherished siblings’ bonds ever created in the city of Gotham.
Over the course of a week, Jason quickly learned that Marinette’s English wasn’t that great (she knew basic English, but then again who doesn’t know anything past basic English), he also learned that Marinette was only sixteen almost seventeen, just a year younger than this youngest brother. Marinette had learned that Jason lives by himself in this rundown apartment complex, though he does spend a handful of times over at his adoptive family’s house. She also learned he really enjoys guns and rock music, so of course they bond over Jagged Stone’s latest new album.
At the beginning of her second week in Gotham, Marinette was growing anxious and a little stir crazy. After Jason had left to go to work, she decided that it would do her and the kwamis well to leave the apartment and explore. She doesn’t know why, but she found herself drawn to the park.
Pulling out the remains of one her sketchbook, she finds a dainty little bench underneath a tree far away from people. Looking around, inspiration hits her, so she begins sketching out an outline.
Marinette doesn’t know how long it has passed until a ball dropped in front of her. She sets the sketchbook aside and is immediately greeted by black Great Dane wagging his tail. Marinette giggles before bending down to search for a name tag.
“Titus?” Marinette mutters before scratching Titus’ head and neck.
Titus nudges the ball towards her getting the message to Marinette. She managed to play ball with her new furry friend until a concerned voice calls out the dog’s name. The person she assumes is Titus’ owner walks in fury towards her direction.
“Hi, he came over to me…” The owner cuts her off turning his attention to the dog who wags his tail in the owner’s face before walking over to Marinette. Marinette tries and fails to conceal her laughter.
The owner sighs and turns his attention to Marinette, “Damian.”
“Damian,” Marinette test the name, “Well you have a very nice dog. Actually, I’m very thankful for him pulling me out of my zone.” She holds out her hand. Damian shakes it after a moment of eyeing her down.
“Titus does have a tendency to do that.” She’s beginning to wonder if Damian was a person against small talk or better yet talking about himself.
Marinette bends down to say goodbye but not before wishing to see him and Damian again in the future.
Damian turns to Titus who does the same, and Damian could have sworn that he says a smirk on that dog’s face.
After their first encounter, Damian and Marinette continuously met at the park. Their second encounter was by pure accident. Marinette had wanted ice cream the following day and decided to enjoy her soft serve back on that dainty bench. Titus wanted to get out again, so Damian took him back to the park around the same time. After that, they decided to meet at the park every day around the same time.
As another week past by, Marinette finally began to wonder what was going on in Paris. She doubts that any besides her parents would care that she was missing, but she can’t help but wonder whether that person (or group) that was after her left Paris alone.
As Marinette grow closer to Damian, she did the same with Jason. He even took her to the shooting ring for practice one night and was blown away by her aim. Jason now swears that if Bruce doesn’t adopt his newly claimed sister then he would find a way to do it legally.
After having Marinette to his lonesome for two weeks, Jason decided that it might be best to introduce her to the family against every bone in his body. He knows that Marinette is hiding something, but it also seemed like she didn’t know what she was hiding also.
“Hey Pixie-Pop, you would you mind coming with to B’s house?” He asks on that faithful Sunday morning, which is odd considering Sundays were the days he typically leaves Marinette to herself.
“Sure,” She pauses for a moment, “Are you sure that they wouldn’t mind? I hate to be—” She rambles on getting a chuckle out of the older male.
“Nah, Pixie-Pop, they wouldn’t mind.” He tells her easing her growing anxiety.
Marinette smiles up at him before rushing into the guestroom that slowly became her room.
On the back of Jason’s bike reminded her of her Nona. In fact, every time she rides with him it’s a constant reminder of her Nona, the rush of wind blowing through her hair. The feeling of someone close to you knowing that you’re most likely being protected. Marinette had dreamed of getting a bike of her own when she older and in case she can never return to Paris perhaps Jason would be willing to teach her.
“Jay-Jay this a house, it’s a mansion.” Were the first few words upon entering the Wayne Manor grounds. Jason laughs it off by rubbing her head and motioning for her to follow him.
“Sup nimrods, I’m back and I brought a guest. Treat her right and there will be no bullets shooting tonight.” He calls out to the group of people settled into the room.
Marinette squirms underneath all the glances she was receiving but upon seeing the familiar sight of green eyes and a certain Great Dane, she slowly became at ease.
“Hey Damian, I didn’t know you lived here.” Well, ring the alarms because immediately she is greeted by screams of all kinds some projected to the green-eyed teen while one was projected to her.
Ignoring the commotion that is aimed at him, Damian curtly nods to Marinette as Titus rushes over to her. “Hi, Angel.” Cue another round of commotion.
So, dinner was a complete mess, well not like food is thrown everywhere kind of a mess but it was an emotional disaster. Tim was knocked over the table, the like of caffeine and sleep finally getting to him. Dick and was having a heated conversation with Jason about Marinette, all while Bruce sat there in silence. Secretly he was hoping for the chance of grandchildren in the future if this girl can make it through with his family.
Once Damian had finished his food and notice how uncomfortable Marinette is, they managed to disappear down the halls to who knows where. Alfred walks in shaking his head all while cleaning up the dishes.
Marinette ended up moving into Wayne Manor just days after the dinner at the request of Jason who ended up tag-teaming with Bruce. It didn’t take her long to figure their secret identities and it wasn’t long after that when they question her as to why she was declared missing and presumed dead in Paris. Let just say that was another heated conversation because it unleashed a whole lot of emotions.
Damian finally worked up the courage to ask the bluenette out after her staying with them for over a month. Both of them were too afraid of ruining the friendship they created. Not long after they started dating, Marinette learned that the people who were after her in Paris were a part of some cult under the name League of Assassins. This is then prompted Damian to talk about his past and Marinette telling the family that she had known their identities for quite some time. It didn’t them long to meet the kwamis and adding Ladybug to their personal alliance.
Marinette only went back to Paris after some convincing from the Batfamily to at least give her parents some sort of closure that their daughter is safe. She took Kaalki to make the trip easy. Her parents were, of course, mad at her for not contacting them sooner, but after she explained everything it was Sabine that had some choice words to say to some “old co-workers” of hers from her early teen and adult years. As much as they didn’t want Marinette to leave, her parents knew their daughter was happier in Gotham than she ever was after the whole Hawkmoth ordeal and even both that. Her missing person case was closed, and Marinette went back to Gotham with the promise to come to see them again in the summer.
Damian and Marinette finally shared their first kiss with each other after a couple of months of dating. It was Titus that pushed them to do at the park underneath the bench where they meet.

DIVE : Part 2
Tumblr media
<Part 1>
Pairings: Jungkook x y/n, Yoongi x oc
Word Count: 4.4k
Description: Camping with your ex, sounds horrible right? The camping trip was planned and payed for long before y/n’s shitty boyfriend broke up with her. Her best friend Abby, Yoongi, Taehyung, Jimin, and Jungkook are there to make sure she has an amazing time. However, sharing a tent with a smoke show like Jungkook is bound to lead to some complications.
Warnings: Language, lap dance, streaking, alcohol use, dom!Jk, sub!yn, fingering.
✨✨⭐️✨✨⭐️✨✨⭐️✨✨⭐️✨✨⭐️
When you wake up the next morning, Jungkook is already gone. You quickly start to brush your hair and make yourself look somewhat presentable before anyone has the chance to see you. You brush your hair, putting it in a simple braid to the side. You shuffle though your bag of clothes pulling out a baggy t-shirt and another pair of jean shorts. You jump when you hear the zip of the tent as you’re pulling the shorts over your hips.
“Sup Sexy lady.” Abby sings as she barges inside, plopping down on the air mattress.
“Fuck, you scared me. I thought you were Jungkook,” You scold as you pull the shirt over your bralette.
“Wait,” she sits up and looks around with a disgusted look on her face, “Should I be on this mattress?”
“Oh my god. We definitely didn’t sleep together if that’s what you’re implying.” You roll your eyes as you fold Jungkook’s blanket.
Abby’s lower lip jets out, “But why not.” She pretends to wipe a tear away.
“Uhm, idk maybe because I haven’t even talked to the dude.”
“Well… Kook, Tae, Jimin and Yoongi all want to go Horseback riding if you,” She wiggles her eyebrows, “would like to talk to ‘the dude’,” She rolls her eyes as she quotes me.
“And you’re ex is doing something with his group of douches.”
“Okay, that sounds fun.”
You both left the tent and met up with the boys who were waiting patiently for you by the SUV. When you got there you instantly noticed the way Jungkook’s eyes made their way up your body. When his eyes meet yours you quickly look away. Tae holds the door open for you as you approach, you slide in and he slides in after you.
“I almost punched your ex in the mouth last night.” Tae blurts out unexpectantly.
“What the fuck!” You gasp but you can’t help but laugh at the image of that. It’s definitely something you wouldn’t mind seeing. Tae starts to explain that after you had fallen asleep he came over to their beer pong game, and started to trash talk you.
“Kept saying that ‘it’s pathetic that she came to babysit me’ and shit like that. Like he deadass believes you’re here to win him back.” Tae’s eyes roll into the back of his head.
You take a deep breath, unsure of how to process the new information. If you were being honest, you didn’t think he thought about you at all. So for him to bring you up in conversation was a bit unexpected, and out of character. However, him claiming that you were there to ‘babysit him’ was something you could definitely hear him saying.
“You aren’t here to get him back are you?” Tae’s eyes widen as he looks over at you, “Because I definitely did not say nice things to him.” His presses his lips together thinking he might have fucked up.
“Are you kidding? No. Not a chance in hell.” You scoff.
“Good. You deserve better than that asshole, I can’t believe how close we used to be. Fuck… Jungkook was best friends with him when they were kids.” Jimin blurts out.
You slowly turn around to make eye contact with Jungkook. How did you not know this information. After being with Ben for nearly a year, you had no clue. Jungkook looks up at you raising his eyebrows and nodding as if to tell you that it was true, and definitely not something he liked to talk about.
“So, if you don’t like him, why do you guys hang out?” you ask the obvious question, hoping for a simply explanation.
“I mean, we’re still friends with people in his group of friends. So when we have big events, he’s always there,” Jimin explains he shrugs, “I guess we haven’t really thought about it much until now.”
You nod, looking out the window. You think about it and it makes sense. Anytime you went to a gathering, things were always awkward between Ben and the boys. Most of Ben’s friends would talk to them casually, and it was never awkward or uncomfortable. You remember Abby warning you before you were brainwashed into giving him a chance. She couldn’t give a reason to say no to him, you assumed because she didn’t know him well enough. Eventually she reasoned and backed off, telling you that she would support whatever decision you made.
After a short ride you finally arrive to the stables. You go inside and pay, then the instructors designate a horse for each person. The instructor brings over a beautiful grey horse, named Eve. You lightly pat her before your instructor helps you over. After everyone has mounted  their horse, you start on the trail. Side by side, Yoongi was next to Abby, Tae next to Jimin, then Jungkook was next to you. The instructors were ahead and behind the group to make sure the horses were behaving properly.
The trail you chose was supposed to take you to the top of the mountain to a lookout. You definitely didn’t anticipate the rocky terrain, or the feeling that you would fall off the horse. After a few minutes you peak over when you hear a quiet laugh coming from Jungkook.
“What’s so funny?” you blurt out, still maintaining your stiff posture.
“Are you scared?” He looks over at you with a smirk plastered across his face.
“No,” You attempt to loosen your grip, instantly regretting the decision to do so, “and if I was, should you really be laughing at me?” You mumble breathlessly.
He giggles, “No. Probably not,” You watch him as he pushes his lips out in attempt to hide the apparent humor in his features, “Look, just relax. You’re not going to fall off.” He lets go of the harness and leans back. He wiggles his body to show you that it’s okay to move.
“Eve, you’re not gonna let y/n fall are you,” He leans forward asking your horse with a voice sweeter than honey, “Yeah, see… she said no. So just relax, babe.” He says calmly.
You giggle as he attempts to distract you, you don’t miss the way the nickname makes your body heat up, “Okay, okay,” you sit up and roll your neck, loosening your body one limb at a time, “this better? Do I look like a pro?” You giggle, you’re knuckles still white from your tight grip on harness.
He laughs hard this time, “Mhm, definitely a Pro. The cutest Horseback rider I’ve ever seen, that’s for sure.”
Your cheeks turn a deep shade of red and you try your hardest to maintain your composure.
“So you used to be best friends with Ben?” You ask quietly hopefully changing the subject.
He sighs loudly, looking off in the distance, “Unfortunately.” He responds quietly.
You nod, clearly not wanted to press on if he was uncomfortable. He clears his throat,
“Our parents were good friends. We stayed friends through school, until he slept with not 1, not 2, but 3 of my girlfriends.” He laughed to himself, shaking his head in disapproval, “And he would tell me, it wasn’t his fault my girls were such whores.” He mumbles.
You bite your lip, closing your eyes for just a moment. You couldn’t believe you wasted an entire year with someone as disgusting as him. You wondered if he cheated on you while you were with him. More than anything you were pissed that someone would do that to their so called friend. You couldn’t imagine the pain that must’ve cause Jungkook.
“That’s fucking awful, I’m sorry he did that.” You apologize even though you know it won’t mean anything.
“No its fine, just made me realize what a piece of shit he is. Just sucks we still have the same friend groups.”
“He is most definitely a piece of shit,” You chuckle, at least you can agree with that.
“Yeah I don’t know why someone like you even entertained someone like him for that long.”
All you hear him say is ‘someone like you’ and you need to know what that means. You pause before asking because you’re not sure you’re even ready to hear his answer.
“Someone like me?”
He smiles, “Yeah, you know. Someone smart, caring, down to earth, beautiful,” He pauses to look over at you, “the whole package, some might say.”
You look over at him in complete shock, you nod your head slowly looking for the words to follow up, but you can’t find them.
“Some might say?” You hear Tae laugh from the horse in front of you, “Bro, you’re the one that says that.”
Jungkook eyes him down and Tae knows that once they’re off of these horses his ass his grass.
You cant help but to laugh at the two boys, “I’m mean, I’m not sure I agree with that but… I can agree with the fact that we were definitely not a great match.”
Jungkook nods, his cheeks are rosy and you smile to yourself as you think about him getting embarrassed over Tae calling him out.
“Thanks for covering me up last night,” you whisper loud enough for Jungkook to hear. Not wanting to involve Tae and Jimin in our conversation they were clearly eves dropping on.
His cheeks turn impossibly rosier, “No problem, you looked cold.”
“I was,” you smile and he smiles back, “I should have taken you up on your offer to sleep on the air mattress with you, my back was fucked this morning.” You giggle
“So does that mean you’re going to let me cuddle with you tonight?” He asks without a beat.
The rosiness on his cheeks is gone, and dominant Jungkook is back and sending shock waves through your body once again.
“I guess it does.” You agree. You’d be crazy to say no to him. The fact that all you could think about as you slept was cuddling with him didn’t help either.
You finally get to the top of the mountain, and you watch everyone dismount their horses with ease. Jungkook get off and brushes his hair out of his eyes as he walks over to you. He holds his hand out for you to take. When you swing your leg over, he takes you in his arms and set you on the ground. His face a few inches from yours you wonder what would happen if you just closed the gap and let your lips touch. His eyes look from yours down to your lips as if he’s considering the same thing. He brings his hand up to your cheek, cupping it for a moment before he brushes something away along your cheek bone.
“You had some dirt.” He smirks, yet his hand doesn’t leave your face.
“Could you two keep it in your pants for a few more hours?” you hear Jimin whining from the lookout. You both pull away and laugh as you start walking towards the group. Abby pulls beers out of her backpack passing them out to everyone. You know you probably shouldn’t considering you haven’t eaten but you know she’ll call you out if you don’t. Every part of your body wants to look at Jungkook, wants to know if he’s looking at you.
After the instructors take a group picture of you all at the lookout, you get back on your horses and head back to the stables. Tae and Jimin decided to lead a sing-along on the way back, which you were thankful for. You needed time to process all the flirting between you and Jungkook. You clearly didn’t mind it but, part of your brain was screaming to slow down. Jungkook seemed like someone you could actually fall in love with and that scared the fuck out of you. You didn’t even feel that way the entire time you were with Ben, which was even scarier. The thought of you and Jungkook cuddling tonight makes you feel things you haven’t felt in a long time. A mixture of nerves and excitement confusing your brain. Hopefully, the rest of the day would ease your mind about the decision you already made.
✨✨⭐️✨✨⭐️✨✨⭐️✨✨⭐️✨✨⭐️
A few hours later you’re all sitting around the campfire. Ben and his group of friends return from their activities and you instantly begin drinking more than you should. Each drop of tequila making your brain a little fuzzier. Jungkook walks over to you, with a shot of tequila and a hot dog.
You’re eyes widen as notice the shot, “For me!?” you squeal reaching out for the shot of tequila, only to be smacked on the hand.
“No, you need to eat before you have more Tequila,” he chuckles as he hands you the hotdog. You roll your eyes dramatically.
“You’re no fun, Kookie,” You pout and you take note of the way the nickname makes him blush. You want to make him blush like that a million times more. You wonder what other nicknames make him blush.
“Awe princess, I can be fun. I promise.” He reassured you, licking his lips as he puts the shot of Tequila to his lips and tilts his head back. You know you’re staring but you can’t help it. Everything about him was pulling you in. You turn away and you eat the hotdog because he was right. You choose to ignore the fact that he paid enough attention to know that you needed to eat something. The fact that he paid that much attention at all was mind blowing to you.
As you finish eating, one of the girls that’s in Ben’s group of friends starts a game of truth or dare. She demands that everyone has to play, instantly making your roll your eyes. Abby pulls her chair up next to yours, Yoongi, Tae, and Jimin follow her lead. Jungkook decides to sit on your left. The girl who starts the game, decides she’ll go first and she picks Lucas, daring him to kiss another one of the girls in the group. You groan knowing exactly where this was heading. Tae gets picked and chooses dare, they dare him run into the river naked. You gasp when he instantly rips his shorts and shirt off and runs towards the river. Jimin, Jungkook, and Yoongi laugh so hard they can’t breath. You and Abby look at each other wide eyed when you realize why Tae wasn’t nervous about being naked. He returns from the dare, everyone gives him a  round a applause and he bows after he slides his shorts back on. He looks around the campfire and it takes you off guard when you hear your name roll off of his tongue.
You almost forget you’re playing a game, you nervously look around to see Ben clearly talking about you to one of his friends. Which only pisses you off, “Dare.” You decide confidently.
Devilish doesn’t even begin to describe the mischievous look that paints Tae’s face.
“I dare you…” His eyes flick over to Jungkook, “give Jungkook a lap dance.”
All you hear are gasps and laughter from the people you barely know. You’re heart starts to pound, but the Tequila coursing through your veins is forcing you out of your seat. Tae pulls out his phone and plays F&MU by Kehlani without being asked, almost as if he’s had this planned all along. You take a deep breath and you position yourself in front of Jungkook. He smirks lifting one brow, almost as if challenging you.
You place one leg on either side of his lap, you lean back rolling your hips forwards. He licks his lips looking down at you. The people around you start to cheer you on, hoping to get more from you. You lean forward still grinding into him, kissing his neck and making your way up to the spot just below his ear. You stand up as the chorus starts and you turn around, sitting back down on his lap. You lean back into him as you take his hands, sliding them down your body. You slowly grind to the beat of the song. You giggle as you hear multiple people yell ‘get a room’ jokingly. Jungkook, pulls you into him close placing a kiss to your neck before helping you get off of him and back to your seat. You compose yourself enough to ask Jimin truth or dare, he picks truth, and you bite at your lip as you decide what to ask him.
“Who is the sexiest person here?” You smirk already anticipating his answer.
He bites his lip as he thinks on his answer, laughing to himself when he decides, “After watching you give that lap dance and Tae skinny dip, I think it’s a tie.” He admits with laughter.
Everyone starts to laugh and agree, which instantly made you shy. The game was fun and you’re glad you played. Until one of the girls picks Ben, who of course picks dare. You take a deep breath, and Jungkook’s hand brushes yours. You don’t need to look at him to know that this was his way of comforting you.
She dares Ben to take a body shot off of her. You watch in disgust as he licks up her body in    familiar way, and makes out with her longer than necessary. You want to feel unphased by it.  You wished you didn’t feel anything at all. You’re heart starts to ache as you watch him pull her into his lap when he’s finished. You breathe easy thinking the worst was over, until he chooses another girl to give him a lap dance as a dare.
You instantly turn away watching the girl awkwardly squirm on top of your ex. Suddenly you feel yourself being yanked out of your seat. A large tattooed hand pulling your towards the table of drinks.
“I think you earned that shot.” Jungkook smirks at you as he pours two shots, handing you one and taking one for himself. He taps his shot to yours and you both shoot it back. The game starts to die off and everyone starts to split up into their groups. Some people head to their tents to take care of the built-up sexual tension the game caused. You stay up for about another hour drinking with Tae, Jimin, and Jungkook. Jimin being a drunk and giggly mess, and Tae being way too loud for how late it was.
“Okay boys, I really need to sleep,” you stand up and Tae tries pulling you back down to him, you giggle as you shake him off, “you should go to sleep too!” You yell as you walk towards the tent. You unzip the tent and bed over to slide inside. You sit on Jungkook’s blow up mattress as you slide your shirt over your head, and your pants off your legs. You reach for the shirt on top of your backpack, knowing that it was Jungkooks. You smirk to yourself as you put it on. Maybe you were poking the bear but really you just hated to wear pants when you slept and his shirt was long enough to be a dress. You pull your pillow and your sleeping bag to the mattress as you lay down. Maybe 15 minutes later Jungkook is unzipping the tent to join you. You see that he has two bottles of water and Aspirin. You’re stomach gets that familiar feeling again, realizing that for the second time today, he’s thinking about your needs.
“Sit up.” He demands and you listen, “So obedient.” He rasps, instantly making you press your legs together. You roll your eyes as he hands you two pills and a bottle of water.
“Drink a lot of that, okay?” He points in your direction; you start to chug it giving him a thumbs up. He tilts his head to the side giggling quietly. He crawls to the place beside you on the air mattress. Laying on his side, his arm propping him up with his head resting his hand.
You finish most of the water, and you set it to the side of the mattress knowing you would wake up with a dry mouth. Jungkook watches as you unzip the sleeping bag to make it big enough to cover the both of you. He smiles when he realizes what you’re doing. You lay down on your back, trying not the think about what might happen in the next few minutes. The air mattress bounces lightly as he closes the small gap between you and him. His fingers tug at the hem of his shirt on your body.
“Comfy?” He raises his eyebrows and you instantly blush. You nod your head so delicately, almost begging him not to be mad at you.
“I’m glad, I could definitely get used to seeing you in my clothes.” His voice is quiet and soft and it melts you like butter. His fingers slide up to your jaw and he gently tugs your face so that you’re looking at him. You swallow hard when your eyes meet his lust filled ones. Without even thinking you’re lifting your lips to his. His hand wraps behind your head lacing into your hair as his lips meet yours. The kiss is slow and you can tell he’s teasing you. You bring his bottom lip between your teeth, earning a low growl from him.
He pulls back and he starts to suck and kiss his way down your neck. You can’t help the moans that leave your lips. Each kiss he left felt like a tiny jolt of electricity. His fingers brush the spot on your thigh just below your (his) t-shirt. He slides the t-shirt up until he can see the top of your panties. His tongue runs along his lower lip and his eyes get heavy. You buck your hips up against his hand, you need him to touch you. You feel his chest as he laughs at your impatience.
“So needy,” He looks back at you, with a smirk playing on his lip, “What do you want, baby? Use your words.” He encouraged before kissing your lips softly.
“Please touch me.” He smiles as his hand ducks under the hem of your panties.
His middle finger presses against your clit with a feather light touch, making you want to scream already. He nudges your head with his nose so he can have full access to your neck. His fingers starts to circle softly around your clit before slowly running through your wetness. You know you’re wet, honestly you don’t think you’ve ever been this wet in your life. Jungkook groans as one of his fingers slides inside you.
“So fucking wet for me princess.”
You have to cover your mouth when he switches from one finger to two. His thumb dancing on your clit as he slides in and out of you. You sit up on your elbows watching him, turning every few seconds to bite at his jaw bone.
“Feels so good,” You moan into ear, he adds another finger.
You throw your head back, your back arching off of the mattress as he hits all the right spots. You’re body is hot and it feels like a coil inside of you is about to snap, you don’t stop the moan that falls from your lips.
“Come on pretty girl, cum for me.” He begs and you do, you nearly scream as you come apart on his fingers. He slows down and lets you ride out your high. He brings his fingers to his mouth to clean them, and the sight alone makes you wet all over again. You bite your lip when you realize he’s rock hard beneath his lose basketball shorts. You start to reach out for it but he laces his fingers with yours instead. You look up at him with the saddest face, full pout and scrunched up eyebrows, like someone just told you your dog died. He tries not to but he has to chuckle.
“I want you in my mouth.” You whine.
He laughs as he lays on his back, pulling you to his chest to cuddle. You look up at him with wide eyes.
“Why won’t you let me? You don’t want me to?”
His eyes get big and he takes your cheeks in between his hands, “Of course I want those pretty lips wrapped around my cock,” he coos with a kiss to your nose, “but I want you to be sober before we do anything else.”
You know that you’re not nearly as drunk as he thinks you are, but still it’s refreshing to have a man consider your mental space before his own sexual needs. Again, something you had never experienced.
You lay your head down on his chest, and his fingers work their way through your hair. Gently massaging your scalp. You couldn’t understand why everything he did made your body react in a way that was unknown. Maybe because you had never been with someone where there was actually chemistry. You feel his finger under your chin, as your head is pulled up to look at him. He cups your cheek, lightly brushing your cheekbone with his thumb. If you didn’t know any better, you would think that he loved you. That’s how he looked at you. Maybe it was the alcohol, maybe it was the post orgasmic bliss, but that’s what you felt. You swear he feels it too.
He swallows hard before pressing a soft kiss to your lips, “You’re the most beautiful thing, I’ve ever seen in my life.” He whispers with adoring eyes. You instantly look away, feeling the tears starting to form in your eyes. He wipes one away as it falls down your cheek.
“What’s wrong? I shouldn’t have said that?” He questions himself and you shake your head quickly. He was wrong, so wrong.
“No, I just…” you inhale trying to decide how to word what you were feeling, “I don’t think anyone’s ever talked to me like that.”
He nods, and you see anger cross his features for a moment and then leans back, his hand running up and down your spine. You lay your head back on his chest, letting the sound of his heartbeat lure you into a deep sleep. “He’s a piece of shit for not realizing how incredible you are, I hope you know that.” He whispers.
You let out a quiet sigh in agreement, falling asleep a few moments later.

@arielana requested: I would love to see them actually talk about some of the moments from previous seasons that hurt or were awkward when they happened, for example ”ends with a whimper” or ”tortured lust/sup bro” (or anything else, so much tension to choose from). Not as a fight, but instead when they are cuddled up together, feeling safe, able to have a soft conversation about how they both felt and to comfort each other, realizing how far they have come, maybe able to tease each other about it even.
As always, prompts for this verse are open. Drop them in my inbox or message me  - anon is off for the time being while I wait for some hate to die down, but if you message me and want the request to remain anon, just say so and I will honor your privacy always <3
PSA: As I stated last week, I will be putting money towards the Navajo Nation COVID-19 Relief Fund every time that I post Malex fic. If you are willing and able to help, feel free to donate as well, every small bit helps. My friend @michaels-blackhat also made an excellent post of other ways to help if you are unable to do so financially.
Week 15
Alex sits between Michael’s legs on the chaise, leaning against his back as he drinks his morning coffee. The dogs are running around the yard, distracted for a change, giving them a quiet moment to themselves. Like they used to have before they adopted four dogs at once and their house had become complete chaos. Lovable chaos, a chaos that they both thrive under, but still chaos.
“The garden looks great,” Alex comments. “Good job, babe.”
Michael nuzzles his nose into his neck, his breath tickling Alex in the most delightful way. “Thanks, I’m thinking about building the dogs a playhouse next,” he says softly, leaving a trail of kisses. “It’s nice to have a yard.”
“It’s nice to have somebody to tend to the yard,” he says, tilting his head to provide Micheal with greater access in his explorations.
He’s stopped questioning all of Michael’s multiple projects a while ago. Alex just loves that he’s been making their house a home for them both. Something that’s uniquely both of theirs. It’s everything he’d hoped for when he’d bought this house. He’d been naive then and thought their path back together would be smooth. That the moment he showed up with open arms, Michael would be there waiting for him.
Looking back, that hadn’t been fair. But Alex is glad that, despite everything, they’ve still managed to make it back to each other.
He takes another sip of his coffee, smiling at the caramel Bailey’s that Michael had spiked it with. They’ve got nowhere to be today and it’s the perfect excuse to day drink. They’ve both had a long week between work and the latest alien drama and they deserve to spend the day doing nothing but lounging around.
“I will happily tend to your yard whenever it’s needed,” Michael says. “Gotta make sure everything’s pristine in case Mrs. Register decides to call HOA on us again.”
Alex freezes at the words and Michael immediately takes notice, stopping his kisses and pulling away to watch his face.
“It’s our yard,” he says carefully.
They haven’t talked about this. Not really. Alex has been too nervous to mess up their domestic bliss with a potentially difficult conversation. After all, Michael is sleeping here every single night. It hardly seems important to get caught up on the semantics of it all.
Except hearing Michael say ‘your’ instead of ‘our’ has a wave of panic moving through him and he’d be lying if he said he doesn’t know why.
Michael smiles at him and leans in to kiss him, but Alex pulls away before he can.
It’s not the first time Michael has said something like this to him. Each time Alex has allowed Michael to kiss him and change the subject, brushing it away like it doesn’t matter. This time, though, it matters.
Alex takes a deep breath, summoning all of his courage and prays he’s not about to ruin things between them. “Why do you always tell people you don’t live here.”
“Um…” Michael looks away, shifting in his seat. Alex scoots back and sits on the edge of the chaise so that they can look at each other properly. “Because I don’t?”
The words sting and Alex’s immediate impulse is to push back. To come back with biting words of his own and retain some power in the conversation. But those are old habits that got them nowhere in life, and they’ve both been working actively on doing better. He swallows down several mean and unhelpful retorts, before it processes in his mind that Michael isn’t looking at him with any spite.
Michael is playing with the fraying hem of his sweatpants. His shoulders are squared like he’s ready for war, but his eyes tell a different story. He’s nervous and insecure. He’s not preparing to go to battle, he’s bracing himself for bad news.
Alex scoots closer and reaches out to place his hand on top of Michael’s. “You’re going to ruin those sweatpants if you keep pulling on that thread.”
Michael looks up at him, and while he doesn’t reach out for Alex, he doesn’t stop Alex when he reaches to hold his hand properly with one hand, and threads his fingers through his hair with the other. In fact, he leans into the touch.
“I consider this place as much yours as it is mine,” he says, knowing that Michael has to feel the same, at least to some degree. After all, he’s spent the last 3 months making this place into a home that works for both of them. Taking complete ownership of all the upgrades.
Or maybe Alex was wrong. Maybe the fact that Michael has been constantly working to remodel the house is because he doesn’t feel at home here. There’s a twisting feeling in his gut that used to send him running for the hills, but he doesn’t do that anymore. He doesn’t run away from hard things.
“You never asked me to move in with you,” Michael says pointedly.
Alex snorts, dropping his hand from Michael’s hair. “That’s because you already live here. All of your things are here—”
“Not all of them,” he interrupts, defensively.
Alex just keeps going. “And you already sleep here every night.”
“That’s because it’s easier for you to move around here than the airstream with your crutches and all,” he argues. “Plus, the dogs need a fenced-in yard.”
“Michael,” Alex says, seriously. He waits a moment or two before Michael meets his eyes. “I didnt ask you to move in with me because you were already here every night. It didn’t seem necessary.”
“Is that the only reason?” he asks.
Michael stares at him and it’s moments like this that he’s convinced Michael has the same psychic abilities as Isobel. He’s always able to see right through him. It was unnerving at first, but Alex has learned to appreciate it. He has somebody to call him on his bullshit.
“I guess I was scared to ask because I didn’t want you to say no and lose all of this,” he admits.
“Why would I say no?” Michael asks, not unkind but clearly confused.
“Why would you say yes?” The words come out of his mouth faster than he can think and when he realizes what he’s just said, he’s positive that he’s just opened up a much bigger can of worms than simply a conversation about where Michael gets his mail delivered.
Michael looks at him like he’s a dumbass.
“Because I’m already here,” he says a fond smile growing slowly on his face. He tugs on Alex’s hand until he practically falls into Michael’s lap. They shift around until they are both comfortable, Alex with his head in Michael’s lap and Michael with his hands in Alex’s hair.
“Does this ever feel temporary to you?” Alex asks, his voice barely a whisper, but Michael hears him just fine.
“Like we’re living in a glass house?” he asks. Alex nods and Michael says, “Yeah.”
“Why?” he asks, frustrated for the both of them. “We both know that we love each other.”
Michael shrugs and leans his head back to look at the sky. “I guess I’ve never had anything permanent before. Or unconditional.”
“You’ve had Max and Isobel,” he says. Alex’s own thoughts and feelings about Isobel and Max’s behavior towards Michael after Rosa died aside, Alex knows that they love their brother unconditionally.
“Yeah, that’s different though,” Michael argues, and Alex almost misses it when he adds, “They’ve never left.”
The defensive part of him nearly brings up the fact that Max died and left Michael to pick up the pieces, but that wouldn’t be fair nor would that help their relationship. They are supposed to be communicating. Alex has been working with his therapist on how to talk through his feelings without feeling the need to throw his walls up.
“I’m not leaving,” is what he says instead, because it’s what Michael needs to hear.
“I know,” Michael says quickly.
“Do you?” he asks, watching Michael’s face carefully.
“I do,” he says with a soft smile. “In my heart I do know that.”
“But?” Alex asks, even though he’s pretty sure he knows the answer. Alex feels it sometimes, too. On his worst days when his insecurity gets the best of him, he starts questioning how long this can really last.
“I guess it’s hard to trust that I’m worthy of it,” he says.
Though it’s the answer that Alex expected, actually hearing the words shatters Alex’s heart. He knows that Michael has a laundry list of traumas that lead to him feeling insecure, but the fact that he’s contributed to that list actually breaks his heart.
“I know that we never apologized for the things that happened before,” he says.
Michael shakes his head. “We didn’t need to. We wiped the slate clean and promised to look forward together and do better.”
“We did,” he says carefully, choosing his words wisely because he’s never been very good at conveying what he wants to say in a way that Michael can actually hear. “But maybe we should have talked about it first.”
“Okay…”
Michael squirms around in his seat like he wants to be done with this conversation, but his eyes tell a different story and that’s when Alex knows that he’s right. It had been easy when they first were getting together to just look ahead and stop keeping score. But pretending like they’ve never hurt each other in the past and aren’t perfectly capable of hurting each other again in the future if they aren’t careful was the easy answer. It allowed both of them to avoid a difficult conversation where they would have to face some pretty ugly truths about themselves.
“You know all those times I walked away were never about you,” Alex tells him.
“Weren’t they?” Michael says with a scoff. “You’re a decorated airman and I’m a criminal.”
Alex sits up, angry at the words coming out of Michael’s mouth.
“You’re not a criminal,” he says sharply. It doesn’t matter who is talking badly about Michael, even if it’s Michael himself — especially if it’s Michael himself — Alex is always going to get defensive.
Michael gives him a knowing look and Alex deflates. “When I said that, I was out of line. I didn’t mean it.”
“You meant it,” Michael says, eyes trained on the game of tug of war that Wendy and Peter are playing so he doesn’t have to look at Alex.
“Maybe I did,” he relents. “But I didn’t mean it the way it sounded. I was just frustrated.”
“With me,” Michael says, always so quick to confirm whatever self-deprecating narrative he tells himself and Alex hates that.
“No, that what happened with my dad unraveled your entire future,” he argues. “I felt so guilty for the fact that you didn’t become some brilliant engineer. I was mad at myself that I let my dad destroy your life.”
“What happened in that tool shed didn’t destroy my life, Noah did,” Michael says, tears filling his eyes. “Project Shepard did. Years of abusive foster homes did.”
“I know that now,” he says.
Michael opens his mouth a few times to speak, but closes it each time, shaking his head. Alex doesn’t say anything. Since adopting Bell, he’s been reading a lot about how to help animals that have been through severe trauma. He’s been surprised to find that so much of the literature relates to his own needs coming from an abusive home. He’s come to realize that both Michael and he have their own unique way of reacting to the trauma in their lives and those reactions, while they align nicely at times, often push against each other.
This isn’t the time for Alex to force an answer out of Michael in an effort to gain the control that he feels he needs to be able to breathe. Alex needs to wait for Michael to come to him. He needs time.
Bell comes over to them and Michael sits back so that she can jump onto the chaise with them and curl up between them. They both reach out to pet her, hands touching in the process and the smile that Michael gives him helps assure Alex that everything is going to be okay. Even as they discuss the ugliest parts of their relationship, there’s a trust there that Alex has never experienced before.
Michael isn’t going anywhere. He never has. Even when things between them were at their worst, they still somehow always knew they could rely on each other.
So Alex lets go of his need to control the conversation and refuses to allow his brain to start coming up with strategies on how to handle whatever Michael is going to throw at him. He just waits. Waits and trusts.
“After you left that summer, I was really angry,” Michael finally says. “And I stayed mad for a long time. I used to hate that you could just show up, whenever you wanted and get whatever you wanted, and yet, I never seemed to get what I wanted.”
Alex takes a deep breath, biting his tongue on the words that could so easily tumble out of his mouth right now. Nothing Michael is saying is untrue, it’s just bias. He doesn’t have the entire story, and that’s not Michael’s fault. That’s Alex’s fault.
“I never got what I wanted either,” he says with tears in his eyes. “I wanted you. I wanted this.” He gestures around at the home that he thought they were building together. That he hopes they still are building together.
“I know that now,” Michael says, repeating his words back to him with a soft smile.
“I know that you were just being defensive because you needed to guard your heart and couldn’t trust me to stay… but when I first came back, the way you would speak to me sometimes just broke my heart,” Alex admits. “I fell in love with a boy who would whisper the cheesiest romantic lines in my ear, and I came home to a man who was sarcastic and bitter and looking to hurt me.”
“I think we both were looking to hurt each other at times and knew exactly which button to press,” Michael says. “I’m not proud of how I acted when you first came home.”
“You can be proud of some of it,” Alex teases, trying to lighten the mood since Michael’s face is starting to look too sad for his liking.
“Like the reunion kiss?”
“That was a good kiss,” he says, remembering how relieved he had been when Michael had finally reached out and taken what both of them wanted but Alex didn’t know how to ask for. “Or that time you told me you never look away.”
Michael shakes his head making a face. “I don’t like that memory.”
“Why?” he wonders.
There aren't a whole lot of memories when Alex first came back to Roswell that he’d describe as happy, but pretty much everything from Michael telling him he never looks away right up until Isobel had shown up with those damn bagels, Alex holds pretty close to his heart.
“Do you really feel like I’m the one that looks away?” he asks with a deep frown. “Like I was the one to leave back then?”
“You never even said goodbye.” Alex isn’t trying to start a fight here, but Michael has to get that he’s the one that pushed first.
“I was in jail,” he says defensively.
“You got locked up on purpose,” Alex says, not letting go of this one. It’s one of the pains that has fed a large chunk of his Michael related insecurities. That Michael didn’t care enough about him to give him a goodbye. That perhaps Michael hadn’t loved him as much as he’d told Alex he did.
“I didn’t know how to say goodbye to you,” Michael says, grabbing his hand over Bell, his eyes imploring him to understand. “My entire life was falling apart and you were the only good thing I had… Then you told me that you were leaving me and you never even explained why. You just said it like it was no big deal and I had all of 36 hours to adjust to the news that you were shipping off.”
“I didn’t say I was leaving you. I told you I was leaving,” he corrects him.
“Same thing.”
“I would have made it work,” he said. “To keep you, I would have done long distance.”
Michael shakes his head. “No, Alex. You wouldn’t have.”
“I would have tried,” he argues.
“Really? You would have risked everything with your dad and Don’t Ask Don’t Tell? You would have risked that all for me?” Michael says with disbelief.
Alex sighs, thinking back to what things were like for them back then. Perhaps Michael is right. Maybe he was too broken and scared back then to fight for what he wanted. But he’s not that boy anymore.
“I wanted to. I wanted you. I just… I couldn’t deal with everything,” he admits. Michael reaches over to wipe a tear from Alex’s cheek. “I’m willing to risk everything for you now though.”
“I know,” Michael says, thumb caressing his cheek lovingly. “I know you are and I love you for it.”
“I wish I had been braver back then,” Alex says.
“Hey, we’re here now, right?” he says, and Alex is so grateful that they are at this point in their relationship where they can talk about these things without it dissolving into a huge fight. But still, it doesn’t change the fact that not talking about all of their past has led to both of them feeling insecure in their relationship.
Alex leans over Bell to give Michael a sweet kiss. When they break apart, Michael has that look on his face like he wants to say more but isn’t sure he should.
“What?”
“Was I really that bad?” Michael asks. “I mean, I know I was getting into fights, but I was getting into fights with the town bigots. It’s not like you never punched any of those assholes. And I was stealing because I couldn't go to the doctor and I couldn’t afford medical supplies. But I was never violent around you. The worst I ever did around you was smoke weed, and half the time you were the one supplying it.”
Alex debates how to explain it to Michael in a way that he’ll understand. Even now, with some distance and time, he’s not entirely sure that he was seeing things clearly back then. To Alex, it didn’t matter that he rarely saw Michael drunk and out of control, or that he never actually saw him in any of the fights around town. He heard about each of them.
And each time he would hear about it, all he could think about was his dad, who would come home to get drunk most nights and with each drink his abuse would shift from emotional to physical. He didn’t want to stick around and see how long it would take for Michael to escalate.
Now, he knows that Michael never would have. He knows that Michael has spent his entire life learning to control his temper and his powers. That he never drinks enough to lose control. That he never lets himself get violent with anyone unless they’ve said something hateful about somebody he cares about. Michael is soft and good. He’s not the kind of man who thrives under anger and violence.
But how was Alex supposed to know that at the time? All he’d ever known was anger and violence.
“You weren’t the only one who never had anything permanent or unconditional,” he says instead. “I didn’t know what I was doing either. Or how to help. And I didn’t know how to handle the guilt I felt around you for what happened with my dad. I think… I think it was easier for me to run.”
“Run off to war,” Michael says, giving him a look that has Alex rolling his eyes.
“Yes, I see the irony, thanks,” he says, rubbing at his leg. “It’s not like my dad gave me much choice in the matter.”
“So he forced you into it?” Michael asks. “When I asked you if your dad was making you do it, you brushed me off. Gave me some bullshit line about finding your own power.”
“My dad told me that I was either going to enlist or I would be cut off completely,” he said. “Those had been my options since junior year when I started looking at colleges. I was prepared to be cut off. But after Rosa died and Liz left and you started spiraling… I just didn’t feel like I had anyone.”
“You had Maria.”
“Maria was never leaving Roswell. And I sure as hell wasn’t staying. So I enlisted,” he says. “I know it must sound stupid to you, the fact that I didn’t know how to survive without my dad’s money… But I didn’t. And I still really wanted his approval for some stupid reason. I felt like… Like maybe if I enlisted…”
“Like he would finally love you,” Michael finishes for him.
Alex nods. “I know you think I’m stupid for giving him so many chances to be a decent human being.”
Michael looks like he’s about to give an angry retort of his own, but swallows it down. “I should never have called you stupid that day, I was just frustrated,” Michael says. “I’m just not like you. People suck and the world is overwhelmingly awful. My anger does make me feel safe. It’s what fuels my power. I don’t know how to let it go and I’m not sure I want to.”
“You don’t have to,” Alex says quickly. “I mean I do hope that you eventually will. Because anger is bad for your health and I’m assuming that is true whether you’re human or alien. But it’s not fair for me to criticize your healing process. We both have a lot of trauma in our backgrounds. And we survived this long because we each came up with different coping mechanisms to get through. We shouldn’t judge each other or expect each other to deal with things in the same way.”
“Did Dr. Celan tell you that during your last checkup with Bell?” Michael asks with a teasing smile, wiping away the tears from his eyes before Alex has a chance to.
“Hey, dog trauma and people trauma isn’t that different,” Alex argues.
John comes walking over to them and collapses on the ground beside them, whining in the way he always does.
“Guess it’s probably time to get them back inside in the air conditioning,” Michael says, leaning down to pick John up and hold him against his chest.
Alex looks across the yard to where Wendy and Peter are currently harassing a poor rabbit. “Wendy! Peter! Leave that thing alone!” Alex calls after them.
“Let ‘em. That damn rabbit is going to destroy the garden,” Michael complains.
“Yeah and the moment those two idiots bring a dead bloody rabbit to the door, I’m going to lose my mind,” he says.
“You’ve been to war and a dead rabbit is too much?” Michael teases.
“What if they eat it?”
“You worry too much,” Michael says, standing up and walking towards the door, whistling for the kids to come inside.
“Says the dad who literally carries that one everywhere,” Alex says, grabbing his crutch so that he can follow everyone into the house.
“He gets cold,” Michael says defensively, covering John’s little ears as if his feelings might get hurt. “And his legs get tired.”
Alex smiles at him fondly, rolling his eyes. Michael is ridiculous but he loves him for it. Seeing Michael with the dogs has only increased Alex’s desire to see Michael with a baby. With their baby. But they shouldn’t get too ahead of themselves. First, he has to convince Michael to move in.
“So, back to the original topic,” he says.
“Which was?” Michael asks, distracted as he puts John down in the kitchen in front of his water bowl.
“Moving in with me.”
Michael stands up and gives him an amused smile. “Are you asking?”
Alex lets out an annoyed huff at Michael being deliberately obtuse, because he knows that Alex isn’t always the best with his words. But if Michael wants to hear him say it, he can do that.
“Michael Guerin, will you move in with me,” he asks.
Michael beams at him, moving to stand in front of him and place his hands on Alex’s waist. “Of course. I was waiting for you to ask.”
“I want you here,” Alex assures him. “Always.”
Alex leans in and captures Michael’s lips with his own, tasting the coffee and Baileys on Michael’s lips as well. His hand slides up Michael’s sides as they shift closer together and deepen the kiss. He holds onto his crutch with his hand, feeling unsteady, but trusting Michael to make sure he doesn’t fall. His hand moves around his shoulder until it finally finds its way into his beautiful curls. Their tongues slide against each other as they both pull one another closer, Alex feeling Michael support his weight with his telekinesis, so that he doesn’t have to cling so tightly to the crutch. Alex’s hand moves to pull at the drawstring of Michael’s sweatpants when Michael pulls back.
“Before we change the subject completely,” Michael says, sounding out of breath, which gives Alex endless satisfaction. “Can I tell you something?”
Alex nods.
“I’m not angry all of the time,” he says.
Alex gives him a confused look. Unsure what he’s getting at.
“You said that you want me to let go of my anger and I said that I wasn’t sure that I wanted to,” he says. Alex nods. He remembers. “I’m not angry all of the time.”
“Okay...”
“I’m not angry when I’m here with you. With the dogs. I’m actually pretty content,” he admits.
Watching the way that Michael smiles at him, Alex is pretty sure that he understands exactly what Michael is talking about — He’s never been more content in his life.
