“look, they have an enhypen lucky draw event here.” she pointed out as you both walked past it by the entrance.

“can we get one on the way out?” your eyes lit up at the mention of it, while you followed minji down the produce aisle. “sure, why not.”

the two of you picked out a few snacks and some drinks for the dorm until you began making your way to the cash register to check out. “would you like to buy a bag today for 500 won?” the clerk asked with a cheerful tone. “yes please.”

“your total is 35,500 won. also- i don’t mean to intrude. but i am a big fan. you guys did so good performing at music bank today!” she encouraged.

“aw, thank you so much!” minji smiled with a wave, paying for the groceries before following you to the lucky draw machine.

you each pressed the button once, flipping the photocards over so you couldn’t see who you got. on the count of three, you both turned it over, revealing your pulls. you had gotten sunghoon, and minji had pulled riki.

“oh, it’s your boyfriend. here, keep it.” she teased with a smirk. but as soon as minji slightly looked at the person behind you, her face fell.

“wow. he’s pretty handsome.” a voice from behind you called out.

you were mortified. as soon as you turned around, you were met with none other than-

“-riki! poor yn. you’re scaring her!” jungwon frowned, lightly slapping riki’s arm with the back of his hand. “sorry about that.” he apologized on the younger boy’s behalf.

“no worries. i’m sorry. you really caught me off guard.” you smiled.

“suddenly i feel underdressed.” minji joked as she gestured to jungwon, who still hadn’t changed out the stage outfit he wore on music bank.

“oh, not at all. if anything, i’m overdressed.” he waved. “normally i’d change as soon as we get home, but practice ran late. and this one here was hogging the shower as soon as he was first inside the dorm.” jungwon nudged riki’s stomach.

while they became immersed in their own conversations, riki moved closer to you, wanting to engage with you as well.

“hey, good job today at mubank. nice to know you find me.. charming.” he winked.

“gosh. if i hear someone say music bank one more time, i might just die. it was awful.” you groaned.

“i thought it was pretty cute.” he shrugged.

“what are you guys doing here anyway?” you asked, changing the topic. “it’s pretty late.”

“oh. jungwon got the penalty to buy everyone food, since he was last to the dorms. but i came because he never knows where to find the japanese snacks. good thing i didn’t stay home though.” riki gestured to you who currently held his photocard in your card.

“sorry about today. i was really nervous..” you looked down, scratching the back of your neck.

he tilted his head in confusion, before using his hand to tilt your chin up. “yeah, no kidding. you were practically shaking the whole interview.” riki pouted.

you groaned as you suddenly felt shy yet again, beginning to bring your hand up to cover your face once more. only riki had held your wrist, bringing your arm down.

“stop avoiding me. it’s okay. we’re all like that at first.” he comforted.

and suddenly, you felt better.

“hey, we’re gonna go now.” jungwon informed. “let’s walk back together? i mean, we live in the same building anyway.”

surely, you were bound to be recognized. but you couldn’t bring yourself to care in the moment. you laughed freely as riki joked with you, walking shoulder to shoulder together as minji and jungwon were a bit more ahead.

“you know, i was pretty nervous too. at the interview. to think that i got to be next to you, let alone have the yoon yn stare at me whenever i spoke? dream come true.” he clutched his chest, faking a fainting motion.

“you’re just saying that to make me feel better.” you rolled your eyes playfully.

“no, really. i’m dead serious. why do you think i kept making eye contact with you?”

and suddenly the world stopped spinning once more. you smiled as you felt riki’s arm wrap around your upper half, securing you as you walked towards the entrance of the building together.

you screamed into the pillow yet again, but this time, not out of embarrassment or fear.

“what’s going on?” hanni asked, coming out the bathroom with a sheet mask on.

she took a seat next to you and hyein on her bed, while minji, danielle, and haerin stayed on danielle’s bed.

“when we went to the store, we ran into jungwon and riki. they were talking to each other the entire time. jungwon and i saw them literally making heart eyes.” minji’s lips curled into a smirk, as she took a spoonful from her pudding cup.

TLDR; FULL AFFAIR BETRAYAL MULTI-LEVEL BREAKUP TO HAPPY LOVE STORY ENDING

soo last year I went through a long drawn out and horrendous breakup w my bf of five years , it was like a fucking movie full of lies , relapses, and a full on affair with one of my best friends of ten years who also has mania that she self induces with abusing adderall and drugs. and then once I found out abt their affair she obsessively fixated on me, and persued to literally ‘single white female’ stalk me in ways that are so fcking weird and disturbing like - gossip girl style slandering me in a LENGTHY article that she published on this weird online blog where she lists everything she’s doing to me as if I’m doing it to her lmao; claims I stole her aesthetic when she has built her whole identity on mine since she approached me one night at a party asking “are you lushsuburb?”; shows up uninvited at the events I throw to try and sabotage I guess no idea; recently enrolled as a student at the college I work for and called HR and my director multiple times to say she was threatened by me and couldn’t attend class lmao, called the historical society I volunteer for and talked to the President (who loves me n he was like … who tf is this bitch) to say that she’s worried about me / I’m suicidal; messages our mutual friends to falsely claim I’m suicidal as well; called multiple fake welfare checks on my house sending cops to my front door banging which is so fcked up let alone triggering in so many ways due to my abusive childhood; constantly goes to every single one of my fav bars in Miami just to territorially piss and talk shit abt me to whoever will listen; posts stories to Instagram with music that my ex wld show me too/ we shared together; etc etc

oh yea and they also secretly lived together for months while I didn’t know where the fuck he was lmao she literally harbored him in her her moms house in KENDALL😭 and I was close to her mom too since I had helped her thru so many manic episodes before I was 10000% ride or die for her , felt protective over her etc. annnnd I didn’t know where my ex was because after he signed a ONE YEAR LEASE w me he ghosted me the next day after a fight, and didn’t respond to me for WEEKS while I desperately blue wall texted him every day to no response . I had never been absolutely abandoned like that before, and it was extremely hard esp after laying my head down next to him every night for YEARS. We were even freaking engaged !!!! (I didn’t wear / have the rings tho cuz we had been rocky for a while, which i was cutely reminded of when his MOM asked for the rings back on Facebook messenger after I was messaging her asking where her son was lol how gaudy)

Anyway so I had to move by myself and I unfortunately let it get to the point of two days before I had to leave nothing was packed cuz I had just been laying there depressed (he also left ALL of his shit pretty much abandoned me w everything, and our 3 cats) and people I barely knew threw my shit into boxes. I had to have an estate sale and I posted it to Instagram to sell most my shit bc I cldnt afford to move by myself . Which btw the ex bff stalker girl came to 😭and I kicked her out so fcking fast even BEFORE I knew my ex was sleeping and living with her lmao cuz I intuitively ALREADY KNEW WHAT WAS UP. I even found out later she also tried to set it up so I wld run into them together at my FRIENDS FUNERAL which she only went to for clout she doesn’t even know him, and i cldnt go because i was at home crying depressed and confused with my life crumbling around me. anyway . My new place is still a mess and just it’s all fcked still but it’s getting better . If u know me you know that I love my environment to be pristine and I have a collection of decor etc and all of this has severely affected my mental health. I didn’t expect to be paying double the rent either. Pretty much the worst breakup I’ve ever had since 2018 Jordan (hey Jordan FUCK YOU TOO!!!)

So in conclusion I just thought that whoever is asking this question may have an agenda or is curious cuz of my vague depressive posts over the last six months and I’m tired of protecting people (which i still am tbh) cuz what happened to me was severely FUCKED UP n trust me that’s not even most of it , I mean to have. Shuggy headcanons as per request Madame: Love me some „Shanks being in love with Buggy’s long hair“, but I raise you „Buggy absolutely adores Shanks hair and can’t keep his hands out of it“. Granted, Shanks doesn’t really take care of his hair. Shanks is a bit of a greaseball at times. Suits Buggy well actually. When they were teens that gave him a perfect reason to just be „Eugh! When was the last time you washed this?“ While grabbing a fist full „OW! My hairs fine! I washed it last week!“ „LAST WEEK? GOD YOURE GROSS!“ and nag him about it till he cleaned up. He could always pretend the detached hands that raked trough Shanks hair after this where just there to make sure his idiot best friend did a good enough job. Actually he needs to check up on this every so often because clearly Shanks can’t be trusted to look after his own head and Buggy would be DAMNED if this ginger brought lice into their bunk HOLD STILL. Shanks doesn’t mind as much as he pretends, as long as Buggy isn’t pulling his head this way and that by its roots, and enjoys the little bit of extra attention when Buggys fingers scratch over his scalp. On quieter days when they are hanging out together Buggy will actually relax enough to play with his hair without the guise of checking for dandruff for once and just absentmindedly chop a hand of to run his fingers trough while he is reading or even just bitching about something unrelated. I'm a sucker for Shuggy being each other's first kisses, and if it happens while Buggy is playing with Shanks hair,, I might die. They're just too much.

Also, when they're older Shanks still doesn't take care of his hair and Buggy literally drags him to the shower with him. Carulia ship analysis pt.1

Ok i decided that I’m gonna do an analysis of every ship (maybe more parts for each one) that are in the show, idk if anyone is actually gonna read it but anyway.

I decided to start with carulia because i have a LOT to say about this ship.

First of all I don’t like it.

I think that carulia is the kind of ship that, yes, is cute but is not gonna work at all. They have no chemistry, literally 0, they are very different, they would not complement each other well, and they have no “ship moments”

I’m gonna talk about each one of these points in order, maybe each one in different parts.

They have no chemistry

I think that it’s kind of oblivious that Julia may have a little crush on Carmen, but that’s all. Carmen sees Julia just as a good friend , or at least it is what i got from their scenes together.

They literally have nothing in common except that they both like history very much, but this is not enough to build a relationship off of that.

But to better understand what I’m talking about I’m gonna mention every episode that they are in togheter.

Becoming carmen sandiego pt.1-2

The first episode where both Carmen and Julia make the first appearance is in the very first episode, Becoming Carmen Sanediego pt.1 but they don’t interact, the only thing we can say about this episode is the fact that Julia is starting to think since the start that Carmen is actually a good thief that just steals from other thief, taking her parts since the start, but i don’t really see any romantic thing in that, just an opinion coming from a smart girl. In becoming carmen sandiego pt.2 it’s the same.

The chasing paper caper

Fast forward to this episode because here is when their relationship start to get interesting.

In this episode, we see carmen going after paper star that stole the Magna Carta. In order to do that, she has to follow paper star on a train and to follow her, but from a distance, because otherwise she would probably die. While she was following paper star on the train, she bumped into Julia, who was sitted on a dining table, probably waiting for devineaux. Carmen sits down on devineaux seat, and she talks to Julia ONLY TO KEEP AN EYE ON PAPER STAR. And then this scene happens.

SHE WAS WATCHING ON THE SIDE TO SEE WHO HER PARTNER WAS BUT NOT BC SHE WAS JEALOUS, BACAUSE THEY JUST MET. How can someone you just met be jealous of you??? Literally all forced, 0 chemistry.

This could be interpreted in 2 ways: 1. Her heart is out of the game because she is going against her ideologies and morals for ACME 2. Her heart is out of the game because of carmen and honestly, like I said before i think that it is both because she has a little crush on carmen, even thought carmen doesn’t reciprocated at all.

The haunted bayou caper

Even here, the only “carulia” scene i can think about is the one where the following conversation happens: (i could not find any gif)

Carmen: devineaux, where is jules today?

Devineaux: that’s classified, but ms.argent is doing other things

Carmen: shame, she’s probably a better driver. And those are such nice cars.

Ok, how can this show any kind of romantic interest? How? She just likes to tease people, and Julia and Carmen are friends. They help each other, but nothing more. Again, forced and no chemistry.

The Egyptian decryption caper

In this episode carmen ask Julia for help to decrypt some old artefacts because she is the only one that can possibly help her, she goes to one of her lessons and she wait, just like devineaux did except she acted in two different ways

Ok, I'm gonna say that again one more time, she may have a small crush on her, but she was mostly surprised, and you can’t deny that. And even if it wasn’t, a small crush not reciprocated is not enough to base a relationship off of that. Another scene

Carmen is just curious about her meeting up with devineaux after everything that has happened, and I’d be curious too tbh. While Julia is just answering a question. Again, all forced, there is nothing romantic in that interaction. Going further on that episode, she is curious why devineaux is answering her private phone, NOT JEALOUS. But anyway, after she convinces Chase to go and save Julia with her, she ends up here

she would say goodbye to her plan to save her, like she did and would do for literally anybody, nobody esclused (like she did for zack and Ivy even though she had just met them) Again I see no romantic interest in that.

Overall:

Good enough, especially the heart of episode 6 but not something I'll be thinking about at all. The characters didn't resonate a whole lot, this focused a lot on just fighting scenes (more than like strategizing, being clever, etc, which is usually what I'm a fan of), the defeat of the villains wasn't really satisfying at all - especially with how cruel episode 6 went down. Also, I don’t ship Geonwoo and Woojin, sadly.

The Xikers Rockstar mv SLAPPED

The rockstar mv just came out and I’m going to be honest, when I first listened to the full album Rockstar wasn’t my fave song. By no means did I think the song was bad, it just wasn’t my favorite.

I knew the performance for it would slap tho so when I heard there was an mv coming for it, I was SUPER EXCITED.

When I tell you this mv made me FALL IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG

The energy from Tricky House was there and the storyline and vibe clearly connected the two mv’s but it still managed to feel very different to Tricky House. The 3 minutes flew by and there were so many scenes that I loved.

I’m gonna be honest, I usually don’t watch dance practices but what I saw from the choreo in this mv just convinced me to check them out. Also this swooping shot is so cool!

They all looked really cool during the entire mv but this one scene did make me laugh:

Like, they just look so cute in this lmao. Look at those adorable smiles.

Anyway, another great mv in my opinion that connected to the previous one while still embracing the unique identity of this song. I prefer the Tricky House one purely bc I love the way it balanced the chaotic humor with seriously cool visuals. But There is something about the ‘clean’ look of this one that really just tickles the right part of my brain.

Xikers def had/has one of the best debuts from 5th gen in my opnion and that is a hill I will die on.

It's just so cute, and Ariel is given the chance to kick some major butt! Treasure City (T) by brit02: Almost a Zelda and the Phantom Hourglass sort of setting? The vibes lean Pirates of the Caribbean with mermaids and magic while very loosely following the story of Treasure Planet, there's a love triangle with some willful miscommunication, a very fun read! His Treasure (T) by Chiban 2: There is an idea in this fic that lives in infamy in my brain and you will know it when you read it lmao. That being said, a fun crossover that merges the two movie canons and explores the "what if" if Ariel had met Jim first! Really cute, has lots of cameos from Ariel's sisters which is fun, Ariel and Jim are Dumb Teenagers which is always hilarious lol Coming Home by iesnoth: If you liked Landlocked, then you've probably already read Coming Home, but it definitely deserves a mention here! Also if I'm gonna rec my own stuff on her ask, I gotta shout Iesnoth out too lmao. A very sweet reunion one-shot set in a similar setting to the aforementioned fic. Tidepool Inquisition (K) by kreite: A cute one-shot in the Little Mermaid canon where Jim and Ariel have a cultural exchange in a tidepool! Super sweet~ Reunited (T) by OceansAria: Drama! Make outs! Elopement! I think it's a hair too long to be considered a drabble, but it's a drabble to me lmao. Second Date (K+) by sultal: Technically not a Jariel fic, but they are heavily featured and I would say romantically get second-billing to Peter and Wendy. The set up for this fic is so much fun, I love stories where the characters live in the parks and get to interact with each other. Has some drama and adventure as well as romance! Diving for Stars (K) by LittleDisneyFreak: Full disclosure, I don't remember the entire plot of this fic, but I know I really liked it and am now planning on rereading it when I get home lmao. It says incomplete, but it is a competed fic. The Palace Guard (T) by PurpleKorea134: This makes it on the list because while it is Not To My Tastes, it is the longest completed Jariel fic on ffNet and there are paragraph breaks when a new character speaks, so I think everyone should give it a try lol. Similar set up to Landlocked, canon setting for both movies meeting in the middle, except Jim is a palace guard and the love triangle happens in the castle lol. The Taking Fantasia (T) Series by sultal: So. I have a real love-hate relationship with this series. The worldbuilding is phenomenal, almost every Disney movie up to the early 2010s shows up. In the second fic Dreamworks and other animated canons get involved, it's a gas. The pacing and drama is great (This is NOT a T fic, by the way, the rating is lying to you this would be rated M on AO3. The series is arguably rated E, there is some DARK THEMES in this series and there is some moments where the gore actually made me queasy). Jim and Wendy's friendship is one of the best things my eyes have beheld and this series is fully responsible for them showing up in some way shape-or-form in almost any Jariel fic I write. Jim's characterization is stunning. The Jariel is SO FUCKING GOOD. This series is also singlehandedly why I hate Peter Pan now. Not the movie, the character. Like, viscerally. If his characterization works for you? You're fucking golden, enjoy the series, you're in for a ride. If it does not? Don't make my mistake. Don't get invested, it will Piss You Off. The third fic in the series has since moved to WattPad and I did not follow it, I have no clue how the third one goes. Proceed at your own risk.

As with AO3, there are also some really great incomplete stories of ffNet I recommend checking out and giving some love to. Another Side, Another Story (T) by Chiban 2 is one in particular I am dying to see continued. There's also Unexpected Journey (K+) by Inali Grimalkin, and From Sky to Sea (T) by Spirit of the Dead.

Also, if you're looking for a comic, I would be remiss not to mention Welcome To Walt Academy by PumpkinHaven! She recently finished moving everything to AO3, but she still has a thriving and active blog and community here on tumblr @welcometowaltacademy . It is mostly a Jackunzel comic, but it is a massive, sprawling story with lots of different plot lines and the Jim and Ariel ones are very good. I honestly am not even sure if Jariel is endgame, but they are extremely cute and Pining Jim is always a treat. Plus, this comic, like the Taking Fantasia series, got me hooked on a new Jim brotp and I absolutely LOVE Jim and Aladdin's friendship in this comic, it's just the best. The whole thing gives the vibe of youtube AMVs with all the characters edited together, and it's actually so astonishing all the work and love that has gone into this series.

This post is so long, but I'm glad to highlight a few of my favorite Jariel stories that I keep coming back to! I'm sure if I dived into deviantart, I could probably find some more, but reading fic on that site has never felt natural to me so I have not dared. Again, these are just the ones that I know or remember best, and I definitely recommend looking through those sites yourself and trying some of the other fics I didn't highlight! Mileage will vary, but there's a lot out there if you know where to look!

I don't know where else to look either! I'm very picky about fanfic (a me problem), and I haven't seen any comics of them. I'm always been more of an amv person. It's how I got started on Jariel, all those years ago...

update on uni uhhh this math final is not the move LMFAO it's literally in a month and i'm just sitting here like damn.... lololol. anyway i also got switched dorms bc my dormmate was homophobic LOL! this dormmate oh my god he is perfect, I love him SO MUCH! but he's dropping out at the end of the semester so i'm gonna die tbh i'll miss him... I hope they don't room me with another nobody. me and my husband are doing good!! we had like a month long confuffle where we were mad at each other but it's chill now it's fine we are very very good. he stayed awake for me today so we could get starbucks together :> this means the world to me because he works all night so he always sleeps at 9am (srs... that exact time) and my class gets out at 9:45 and he STAYED and waited outside my class too... I love him so so much. knock on wood.

✯ There's a form of love when it comes to having a girlfriend who doesn't show much of her emotions. Her eyes don't light up when she sees you in costume, but she shows her appreciation by keeping you in her gaze, her eyes never leaving you even when you are doing something as casual as scrolling through your phone.

✯ Sometimes she will be dressing for work as you dress in your costumes for a con (a beautiful juxtapose) and she will offer the smallest of critiques.

✯ "You need to brush the back of that wig."

✯ Sometimes she'll go to cons with you and just act as your bodyguard (in the humorous sense but also in the genuine sense, she keeps her eyes on you and people who invade your boundaries in days in which you do end up wearing some of your costumes in public like that).

✯ She is very protective over you, and in an alternative universe in which she speaks like teenagers these days, I imagine she will constantly say a sharp "damn that's crazy but who asked" to people.

✯ She's a good listener! When you go on rants she'll pay attention, and when you make niche references she'll ask you to explain.

✯ She still is entirely independent and doesn't like when you ask about her work. Her ability to change the subject and get you to talk about your interests is peak.

✯ Or when you say some "I'm just plain", she'll always hit you with the "Obviously you're not", which gets you a little ruffled.

✯ Whenever you make her blush, no matter how far into the relationship you are, it still makes you flustered. It's satisfying to know she likes you that much, that someone as stoic as her can find you desirable.

✯ ^ You like letting your perverted side out a bit because of that.

✯ She likes holidays that surround gifts because you are the easiest person to go shopping for.

✯ Her job is a topic that cannot be discussed at the dinner table, you can easily very freaked out at some of the things she sees on a day-to-day basis... so dinner table talk surrounds your interests >:).

✯ You can ask her to put on the cosplays you create so you can see them on another person but she will say no LOL (but you can ask).

✯ She looks at you with a small smile sometimes, which to you means a lot... it's a lot of expression for somebody who is good at hiding.

✯ She has so much interest in anime and manga, and she gets so excited when she sees you making costumes for it.

✯ She wants to know all about your interests and why you like them. Listening to you talk is the best part of your day.

✯ She hates when you call yourself plain! She thinks you're the most interesting person on this planet. No literally, you are beyond unique and she admires your capabilities more than anything (his seems like a pretty obvious thing to say anyway).

✯ Her status in the hierarchy means that she has people to satisfy her every command, meaning that any material you need, you can get. She can even gift you really expensive fabric/stable wires/long-lasting glitter/anything you need, no matter what expense (and if you prefer one specific brand, even if it's 'cheap', she's not going to force you to use something else).

✯ She was raised with a lot of people always around, so when she gets the solo time with you, it makes her feel a lot less princess-like, and it makes her feel like a normal teenage girl. She likes to study in the corner while you sew (studying - it's so fun, especially when she gets to say things like "I'm studying!").

✯ Being around you while you work is her own personal love language.

✯ You wear a lot of layers, and so does she! If she gets cold, even though she might have a servant on hand for that, you can still lend her your jacket :> (else a jacket you make... perhaps you have even made one for this specific occasion too... and perhaps she will never know that it's a reference to your favorite media).

✯ She is more academic-brained than creative-brained so creative processes are very interesting to her, especially ones that require style and clothing.

✯ Sometimes she'll talk to her seamstresses about things clothing-wise and they are always like 'oooh you know about that!!! that's so cool!!!'.

✯ She can often mimic your perverted jokes, and return the energy back to you.

✯ ^ But whenever you get dressed she'll turn around, even if you don't mind.

✯ She will love to try on your cosplays. You can use her as a model any day!

✯ When it comes to costumes with bows and glitter, she loves looking at them! She'd always loved when her servants tied her bow for her. Bows are her favorite accessory, and she falls in love every time she sees you tie one.
