This guy is sprouting wings and leaving the nest today!! Starting his journey to live his remaining days in Kansas! Made from Knotty Alder, all knots filled with epoxy, epoxy used as adhesive in mortises as well (you have to work fast!!). Stained with @generalfinishes 50/50 brown mahogany gel stain and mahogany oil based stain. First door that I’ve made every piece of trim for (which has nearly paid for itself already😜). Drawbored and pinned mortises using red oak dowels. Had to perform emergency door surgery this afternoon during a glue up. It worked (thank god), knotty alder makes some crazy crazy noises as the tenons are slid into the mortises, which just added to my anxiety during the glue up!?!
