Hey, can I ask about your lyrics writing process. Recent non-PAFL songs like Cлова, The World is Smiling on Me and now Coordinate Shift are very interesting in that regard, I cant help but wonder how do you even come up with them in the first place? Is there some underlying theme or inspiration for each one that lets you thread that fine line between vapid and pretentious?

Tbh it all boils down to personal preference, so whatever I'm gonna say here will be highly subjective and won't work for everyone.

I try to keep the imagery interesting while keeping the lyrics themselves simple. As in I try to balance the complexity of imagery with the complexity of the vocabulary.

If you veer deep into metaphors and AT THE SAME TIME overload them with the longest words you can find in the thesaurus, then you don't want to get a feeling across to the listener, you don't really want to be understood. You want to sound smart.

Big words can be used effectively, of course. However, unless the specific point of the song IS to sound somewhat pretentious and unnatural, 90% of the time it's better to think of a simpler alternative to whichever 6-syllable word you're about to write.

Hi! So, tbh I had a hard time choosing but I think I would go with Transformers Animated 2007, mainly bc THE AUTOBOTS ARE SO TINY 🤧

And overall it's a great twist to the story

(Although if you want to just pick whichever universe would suit me best)

Anyways, onto my personality:

I consider myself to be very outgoing and extroverted with a slight fear of confrontation (Be it known, if my guts tell me to run I'm out of there). Many people also say that my presence is extremely hard to ignore, that they relate me to the color yellow and I'm easy to spot on the crowd (probably bc I speak loudly and don't stop). I also like to see the nice in everyone and everything, and I am hopeful for stuff to change for the better.

On the downside, while I tend to be very happy overall, I have big moodswings where If I'm reminded of a big insecurity of mine (my weight, for example) I can get sad immediately. Also doesn't help that I'm a daydreamer and overthink a lot. Honesty would be a very important for there to be comunication in the relationship, although It's very easy to tell whenever I'm upset since I become cold and shut up.

In general, I do a lot of Physical contact (ofc, I ask first if the other person is comfortable with hugs and stuff) and like complimenting my partner.

Should also mention that I'm responsible but not organized, very carefree and silly

I like history (mostly Movements for the rights of the people, be it for the POC community, Lgbtq+, workers, etc), swimming, astrology and hearing people talk about their interests.

My dream aesthetic is a mix between cottagecore and Overly feminine clothes, I LOVE Pink and Orange, they are my favorite colors ♡

Although I tend to have problems with taking care of myself (I believe it's because of my adhd, but I'm getting better at it :D)

i saw a post talking about neverafter slander on twitter so i went to check it out

here are some thoughts: (keep in mind, i’m not calling anyone out or saying your opinion isn’t valid if you agree with one of these points. try to read this as a light hearted discussion, like talking about a book with a friend)

a lot of it is people saying the season wasn’t horror enough and while i agree it’s not exactly as straightforward horror as the marketing suggested i think that that’s a take that is fundamentally misunderstanding what this is. it’s the horror season of dimension 20 which is a d&d show first and foremost. it’s not going to be following the beats of a horror movie because that’s not what they’re doing. when you run a horror campaign you fold in horror elements which they have been excellent at doing especially in the eldritch and existential categories

not to make assumptions but it seems to me that a lot of people making a big fuss about this haven’t played d&d for themselves. the things i have seen suggested the most for making the season more in line with the horror people were expecting involves turning the campaign into a more dm vs players situation (which is joked about a lot in fandom but in more of a meta humor way than is being suggested). this is something that anyone who has ever played in a bad campaign knows makes it a hell of a lot less fun to play and, i’m assuming, not so fun to watch either. the point of playing d&d is to work together to tell a story, if you go into to making a campaign with the goal of making your players lose, everyone is going to be miserable and your story is going to suck.

following that, some people are ragging on brennan for forgetting details and not having the lore entirely fleshed out. as someone who does unnecessary worldbuilding for homebrew campaigns every single time, i would just like to say on behalf of dms everywhere: it’s hard! there’s so much stuff to keep track of and so little time to keep the lore straight if you want the session to keep moving smoothly, i’m sure it’s even harder when you have a limited time to film the episodes/season

and maybe it’s just me, but i love horror movies (and other media) and neverafter is about as scary as most horror movies i’ve seen. it’s definitely better written than a lot of horror movies, we get to know the characters and are fully invested in them when bad things happen. it’s sort of on the level as the hellraiser reboot imo. some people make the point that besides the body horror, there’s not enough gore/blood kinda stuff, but i think gore isn’t truly horror, especially in a spoken format. it’s more of a shock factor thing, like a verbal jumpscare

and i’ve seen people saying that the pcs are too much like heroes/they’re too capable to be in any real danger, but in a horror movie, most of the bad things happen around the protagonist(s), they’re still thrown into the shit but most of the time they make it out. horror as a genre is so ill-defined anyway that people still debate if slashers and thrillers even count. plus, how many times in a movie has a side character been forgotten or something about the lore has been off? and that’s with multiple people overseeing the production.

jumping away from the “it’s not like the horror movie i envisioned” complaints, i’ve also seen a lot of people say it’s confusing??? and tbh i’m more confused about that than the campaign. to me it’s pretty straightforward, no more confusing than starstruck at the very least.

for the big picture: it’s different factions of people with conflicting (but occasionally overlapping) goals than all need to get to macguffin in order to reach whichever goal they’re aligned with

the pcs have their own character arcs which are very clearly laid out throughout the season

the minute details are there because that’s how you make your world feel lived in

and yeah, there’s a lot of potential in the stuff they could’ve done but didn’t. but i feel like that’s the whole point, y’know? this is the story they did tell, and the thousands of other ways they could’ve told the story live on like every retelling of a fairytale.

There is a specific song that reminds me a lot of Yohan x Gaon for some reason that is very cloudy for me, sometimes I have theories but I don't know. I always hear it when I read WHTD, so you can imagine how many times it was repeated while I was reading, right? Maybe you know it, but I'll leave it here anyway.

I don't know if I can say for sure since music is a very subjective thing, as is how we interpret lyrics. And I tend to be pretty literal tbh, which isn't everyone's favourite way of interpreting music. So I can honestly only guess based on what I can read in the lyrics, especially since I'm not very familiar with the artist xD

But, with that in mind, I guess it might remind you of them (and Who Holds the Devil in particular) because it seems to be a song from one woman to another woman and the second woman is pretending she's straight even if the two of them clearly has some lesbian tension going on. And I guess that's more or less the situation Yo Han is in with Ga On right now? Like, just switch "girl" to "boy," "boys" to "girls," and "next to him" to "next to her," and "his wife" to "her husband" etc. and a lot of it might as well be Yo Han speaking to Ga On.

The future wife mentioned could be Soo Hyun or just some unnamed woman that Yo Han assumes Ga On will end up with in the future, since Ga On is clearly determined to pretend that he's still straight, which means he'll probably marry at some point.

And I do think that Yo Han would be pretty petty about that, yes. I actually got an ask a while back, asking me what I thought would happen if Soo Hyun and K didn't die, but the majority of the drama played out pretty much the same afterwards. And I think we'd probably end up with a scenario quite similar to this song. Where Ga On ends up in a relationship with Soo Hyun and pretends that he's straight, but slowly but surely it becomes clear that he's really not.

He wouldn't have much luck, in other words.

Anyhow! When it comes to the lyrics, I especially like the part "You'd have to stop the world just to stop the feeling," which I think could have several meanings, depending on what angle you want to take. One is that "if you want to stop being gay, your only choice is to stand still and stop evolving" or "the only way to stop yourself from wanting me is for the world itself to stop spinning." And whichever interpretation you choose is pretty suitable for them, I'd say. Especially the latter is a pretty good summary of what their relationship — and the connection they share — is like if you ask me.

The only thing that could guarantee that Ga On can let go of Yo Han (and Yo Han of Ga On) is if they both ceased to exist. Nothing else would actually work.

Even if they're separated, they'd still obsess over each other.

So yeah. I can see why you draw parallels, especially if one views it as something from Yo Han's POV, where he's snarkily criticising Ga On's increasingly clumsy attempts to pretend he's still straight. Because they both know he's not.

And Yo Han would definitely be the kind of person to say "I told you so" in that situation.

Thinking about this well known Proverb and how it very easily could have applied to Branch had he Gone Down a Darker path and also It made me think up an idea where the future Villain is someone else who was outcasted by Pop Village.

I think it could be pretty neat if the villain of a future film was another Grey Troll who was basically outcasted from the Village due to how Peppy used to run things

maybe he even went off with his own small Group of Trolls who were all shunned by Pop Society after the Bergen escape because they weren't Happy and partying 24/7 and actually had issues.

or Hell maybe they were even straight up left behind in the tunnels during the Bergen escape because they were Grey and thus

whichever villagers were meant to be keeping an eye on them didn't care enough to go back for them after they fell behind.

I think it could maybe be cool if a future film had Poppy having to Deal with Villains that were a Direct Result of the flawed way her dad used to run the Village

plus having some Villains who Branch can see himself in and Relate to could be interesting

and maybe this leads to my Peppy Dies idea playing out where Poppy wants to make peace with the Group Despite them being a threat to the whole village

and other people warning her against trying to reason with them Poppy still goes ahead and arranges to meet with them to try and talk peace only for it to be a trap

and as a result Peppy has to sacrifice himself to save Poppy and everything I said in my other post comes to pass

Poppy feels guilty over his death and Branch consoles her since he understands what it feels like

viva maybe blames Poppy at first for not listenening to everyone else and she thinks they have to go full force on the Grey Troll group to stop them.

but in the end after a climax where they do try to stop whatever the Grey Troll Groups final plan is ( maybe they just wanna Destroy the Village or turn them all Grey somehow IDK lol )

but when confronted with the main leader of the Group again Poppy actually proves she truly sticks to her morals and beliefs even in the face of Hardship

and she Reaches across the aisle to the Villain convincing him to make peace for the good of both of their Tribes of people admitting her dad wasn't perfect and made some big mistakes in how he Ran things

but she knows that he wanted her to do better and she wants to do better by them all and that no one else has to get Hurt for it to Happen.

so the leader agrees and he and Poppy make peace for the sake of their people and Poppy for her own peace of mind as well I Guess.

and the movie ends with the other Group integrating back into Pop Village and as a Result we see some changes in Pop society

maybe the movie ends with a support Group Ran by the Grey Trolls being set up in the village to show they are no longer just going to push Trolls to the side or ignore them when they have negative thoughts and feelings

with Branch of course taking part as a show of solidarity

also maybe his loved ones kept on telling him he should try it out since he so obviously could do with people who he can talk to about his problems who could actually understand him a bit better 😭😭😭😭

so yeah anyway point is the Village takes active steps to make the Grey Troll Group feel more welcome and Heard in their society undoing some of the Damage that Peppy accidentally did during his Reign.

and Poppy and Viva Decide not to waste their lives Hating on the leader of the other Group Despite what he did

since they are True Trolls and believe in giving people a second chance to Redeem themselves even if it isn't easy for them.

which I feel would make Poppy's posotive enthusiastic attitude and moral values more Respectable tbh.

what do you think about the Idea? about both the Grey Troll Group? and about Poppy Forgiving Peppy's killer do you think it'd be too far?

1- tbh i dont think she really has a favorite? pre-worm mina doesn't really have the time to think about smaller things like that and post-worm mina is too busy trying not to slaughter everyone to give attention to much else. i think once she gets ahold of her urges (and after she gets rid of them) she becomes fond of night orchids (because she associates them w shadowheart). she also like glowcap mushrooms (im AWARE they're not flowers, but its close enough)

2- corny answer BUT bc she associates it w karlach's engine (and karlach herself) she enjoys the smell of the hells + machinery in general. shes also fond of vanilla and likes sitting near jaheira's tent when they camp together to smell whatever incense she's burning.

3- mina does her best NOT to sleep actually, what with the whole murdering ppl in her sleep thing. when she does fall asleep its usually on accident and almost always near karlach (the amount of times someone has caught her sleeping on karlachs shoulder while karlach tries her hardest not to move is ridiculous). once she gets the whole sleep-murder thing worked out she prefers to sleep on hard surfaces w no blankets (karlach is enough of a space heater i think)

4- when the artifact fight happens mina is still super disoriented and frustrated w her lack of memories (she's like. the DEFINITION of fake it till you make it in terms of trying to be a good leader for the little pack of strays shes gathered together), and I think she's still incredibly unsure of both shart AND lae'zel's intentions as a whole (not to mention her confusion regarding the artifact itself). things don't dissolve into a physical fight, but she does side with shadowheart just because she's traveled w her longer and has built up more of a relationship w her.

5- mina makes it a point to keep in touch with jaheira, despite jaheira not being known for her amazing communication skills. it becomes a sort of a game for the two where jaheira will do her best to go mia only to recieve a letter from mina not even a day later being like "OLD WOMAN YOU SUCK AT HIDING. DO BETTER. also i hope you're doing okay. BUT ALSO MAKE SURE YOU SEND YOUR CHILDREN A LETTER AFTER ANSWERING MINE". aside from jaheira, she also frequently checks in on shadowheart and makes sure shes doin okay in her little cottage. her and karlach meet up with her every other weekend to catch up and make dinner together. once lae'zel stops being bound to her comet duties she also joins them, shadowheart's cottage kind of becomes an essential meet-up spot for their little group. the others even make their own appearances from time to time (shadowheart has caught astarion and jaheira not-so-subtly trying to steal some of her wine on more than one occasion).

Kepcobi as a ship was not the focus of that post (it was more about the SI-5's dynamic in general), but as for your thoughts on Kepcobi being abusive, I 100% agree that it is. Disclaimer: I know a lot of people who follow me ship Kepcobi, and that's okay. I personally do not ship characters that often, it's just not really my thing, but you can ship whatever you want, as long as we're talking about two consenting adults and not glorifying or romanticizing toxic and abusive elements and calling them out for what they are, it's your life. Ship what you want, have fun. It’s not like I or anyone else can stop you.

But with that said, while I'm hyperfixating and dropping hot takes and long character analysis ramblings, this does bring up another one of my very controversial Wolf359 opinions, which is that, in fairness to the SI-5, most of the most popular ships in Wolf359 and the ones with the most canon evidence are either set up for tragedy, incredibly toxic and abusive (most of them fall into this category tbh), or out of character and most of these hold true regardless of whether you look at the relationship platonically or romantically.

Again, ship what you want, do not let me stop you, and this opinion doesn't mean I don't see the appeal of these ships and why people ship them (that I understand), but I still stand by this statement, love in depth character analysis, and would be happy to explain it.

Let me break this down.

Arguably the healthiest and most popular ship in Wolf359 is Doug and Hera, but even that one is still doomed to tragedy from the very beginning whether you look at them platonically or romantically. Even before Doug loses his memories, Hera has a whole monologue where she contemplates what it will be like for her when Doug "goes away forever" because she is an AI could theoretically live until the end of the universe, and he is a human with a very unhealthy lifestyle of cigarettes, alcohol, junk food, poor hygiene and little exercise. He has magic alien blood in him now, but even that would probably only extend his lifespan so much. Also, any relationship involving Hera risks a power dynamic issue by design (because she's an AI whose free will can be taken away through coding at any time, and she was designed literally to serve the crew). However, I believe this affects Hera's relationship with Doug noticeably and significantly less than the other characters, particularly because we see Doug depend on Hera just as much as she depends on him, though in different ways. However, Hera still expresses her frustration that Doug doesn't realize she can always hear him and that he can't understand or experience everything she does and that he initially called her "robot girl" and didn't realize he was being insensitive (though to be fair, Doug accidentally said insensitive things to everyone). They do work through these barriers over the course of the podcast and it's not necessarily Doug or Hera's fault some of these miscommunications and issues exist, it's circumstance. I do really appreciate that Doug relies on Hera as much as she relies on him due to his executive functioning difficulties. I will say as someone with ADHD who often has friends and partners with more anxious and aware tendencies that balance me out really well, I related heavily to Doug Eiffel and do see why he and Hera have such a close relationship. Their friendship is wonderful, I see the appeal of the ship, and I love these characters so much they are my favorites, and I desperately wish that they could have had better things. They deserved so much better. But their relationship is, unfortunately, no matter how you chose to look at it (platonic or romantic) very tragic from the start due to the circumstances that make their relationship complicated and doomed to end up with Hera alone in the end whenever and however Doug and the rest of her friends “go away forever”. 💔 (and I do plan to write a fic about this because it makes me so sad. Poor Hera).

While we're talking about Hera, I'll also mention her and Maxwell. I’ve always believed that there is a difference between what I personally ship, and what we have canon evidence to prove. And while it took me a very long time to come around to the SI-5, I do think you could argue that we have some canon evidence that Hera might have had a crush (romantic or friend crush however you’d prefer to see it) based on the way she talked about Maxwell. Was this a mutual crush? Clearly not to same degree given Maxwell's betrayal, and therein lies the power dynamic issue I mentioned earlier, which is very applicable to Hera and Maxwell given Maxwell's coding skills. Hera likes Maxwell because she helped fix her and while Maxwell did so at great personal sacrifice and views the AI as people, she still has the coding skills to hurt and control them if she wants to (and she ultimately chooses to do so). Even though she apologizes for it and doesn't want to do it, she still does it, and it's pretty terrifying when you think about it. She forces Hera to tell her where her friends are and be subservient to her commands, very similar to what Pryce does with the restraining bolts. Part of what makes Hera's character so sad to me is that she's set up to be in abusive situations. She needs Maxwell, but Maxwell doesn't need her. She likes Maxwell because Maxwell views her as a person when so few people do, but even that is just the bare minimum. If Maxwell had the chance that Jacobi and Kepler did to change, maybe things could have been different, and I do really wish we could have seen a redeemed Maxwell develop a healthier friendship with Hera (and wrote a whole fic chapter where Hera reflects on that in the middle of my “a duckling imprints on Jacobi” fic), but unfortunately, we don’t get to see it.

And speaking of characters that are set up to be in abusive situations: Cutter and Pryce, and this again doesn’t matter if you see them as romantic or platonic. Look, I understand that just because two people are evil does not mean they are necessarily in an abusive relationship, you can be evil and still love your wife or husband or “weirdly devoted platonic coworker”. But even though I think Cutter and Pryce care about each other, I still think their relationship is abusive and we have canon evidence for it too. Disclaimer: I don't like Miranda Pryce, she was awful towards Hera and the other AI, she did unspeakable things, she's evil. She's a bad mean lady. But that doesn't mean she can't also be in an abusive relationship, and I believe she is in one whether you see it as romantic or not. You can be an abuser and a victim, those are not mutually exclusive. Even if you assume the whole "Pryce met Cutter as a child when he was an old man" thing was just a metaphor that didn't mean anything, there's still probably some sort of age gap between them even if they met when they were both adults. Putting that aside, there's still a huge power dynamic issue between the two of them. In the surface, they are in an alliance that benefits them both, but the benefits are not equal in the slightest. Their alliance allows Cutter to get a possibly infinite extension on his otherwise normal life span, have superpowers, get his revenge, and control the world. Their alliance allowed Pryce to live and see for the first time. She was disabled and going to die young, she was angry at the world and was originally motivated to build AI to be her friends to do whatever she wanted simply because no one else loved her or wanted to be her friend and she felt the only way to get that was to force people to love and obey her. Cutter was the only one giving her an option that allowed her to survive. That doesn't make it right, but it does make it understandable as does her frustration, bitterness, and hatred towards herself and humanity compared to Cutter's more positive silly attitude. But even once they're in a partnership, it's not a balanced partnership.

The story they tell at the beginning of Brave New World puts her and Cutter in a very uncomfortable "Cutter is her savior" narrative that, if you do assume they met when they were both adults, explicitly infantilizes Pryce and romanticizes that dynamic. We also hear multiple examples of other characters, both good guys and bad guys, acting disgusted or disturbed by Pryce's appearance, particularly her eyes, and Cutter seems to be the only one who isn't bothered by them. We also see Cutter interact with almost the entire cast throughout the course of the show, but Pryce mostly interacts with just Cutter or is in a lab by herself until the very end. She’s extremely isolated and most of the main characters don’t even know who she is until the end despite her being Cutter’s “work wife/worse half��� and supposedly second in command at Goddard Futuristics. Now, don't get me wrong, I do think Cutter loved Pryce. I just think he did so in a very controlling way. Sure, he allowed her to call him by his first name and speak disrespectfully to him and openly criticize him, he called her the smartest woman in the world and admitted she was even smarter than he was, he praised her for her AI and rebuilding the world in her image and called her a god, and he was worried when she was in danger. But he also told her the one thing he feared was her making her own decisions in a crisis and messing up and that her one job was to back whatever decisions he made. He insisted on having control and the final say in their relationship. Then he forced her to apologize to him in the most condescending and patronizing way possible. It's giving 1950s in the worst possible way, which does sadly make sense given Cutter was born in the 1920s. Furthermore, Cutter also briefly considers whether it's even worth rescuing Pryce even though he does care about her. He ultimately does, and given that this is Cutter, that probably means a lot, but he still criticizes her for her behavior right after she almost died. It’s certainly more emotional abuse than anything else, but the signs are still there and the way that Pryce acts after she forgets about Cutter and his plans haunts me to this day. She goes from screaming at Hera and Doug to quietly apologizing for being confused and asking for help. I’ve never met a character I dislike so much and yet feel so bad for. I made a whole post about how Pryce and Cutter’s relationship and characters were a toxic mirror of Hera and Doug’s relationship and characters and I honestly think those might be some of my favorite parallels. I could talk about them forever. I will likely make more posts about it. But onto the other ships.

Then we have Kepler and Jacobi, and I already did my whole SI-5 post, but yeah…look. Is there canon evidence to support the ship? sure. Is it a healthy ship in a platonic or romantic sense? Heck no. Warren Kepler is a walking HR violation and some of the comments that he makes are just straight up… I don’t even know what to say other than Kepler is an arrogant jerk and a bully who clearly loves that he can get away with this kind of stuff, and Jacobi’s devotion and loyalty to Kepler is incredibly unhealthy. There’s also the issue of the savior complex and power dynamic issues I talked about with Hera and Maxwell and Pryce and Cutter that show up AGAIN here because Kepler saved Jacobi from unemployment and is his boss. Like with the other ships, I think Kepler did care about Jacobi to an extent just like Cutter cared about Pryce and Maxwell cared about Hera, but like those relationships, I still don’t think Kepler cared about Jacobi as much as he needed to or in the way he should have. In this case, it’s more in a “I care about you because we’re having fun or rather I’m having fun, and that’s what I care about” way rather than an “I sincerely love and care about you” way as evidence by the fact that Kepler compared Jacobi to whisky, didn’t care that his best friend died, and these two tried to kill each other. Though I do think a part of Kepler was sorry in end and acted more like he genuinely cared about Jacobi, it took him a ridiculously long time to get there. Plus then we have Jacobi’s whole implied thing with Klein “going badly” where he admits to being the toxic one and look: having that happen with one person at the evil space company is bad enough but two? Jacobi needs help. The man is a red flag running towards other red flags.

Finally, we have any romantic ship involving Renée Minkowski and any of the crew. Minkowski and Lovelace is the most popular one, but honestly, any romantic ship with her, whether it’s healthy or not, feels super out of character to me for a very simple reason. I cannot believe that Renée Minkowski would EVER cheat on her husband. The rest of the ships I’ve mentioned, toxic as most of them are (Doug and Hera being the main exception though their story is still very sad 💔) I will concede do have various degrees canon evidence, but the idea that Minkowski would get in a romantic relationship with anyone in her crew is just so wildly out of character to me. Minkowski, the woman who follows the rules of Pryce and Cutter, memorized the whole manual, and lies awake at night fretting about ethical dilemmas, willingly breaking her wedding vows? Absolutely not. She would never. She might have had a disagreement with her husband about coming to space, but they didn’t divorce over it. Clearly they weathered that storm, and Dominik was willing to wait for her to come back, he supported her dreams! She calls him wonderful, and the video messages she tried to send him were so sweet and personal you can just tell she loves this man and they have a good relationship. Now, with that said, I don’t think it’s entirely impossible to consider Minkowski getting into another relationships after her return to Earth. Dominik thinks she’s been dead for a few years and it’s not crazy to think he might have moved on and she unfortunately might have to move on too, but until that’s confirmed, I do not believe Minkowski would ever even entertain the idea of breaking her word to him, I just can’t see that being in character for her at all. Again, you can ship what you want, don’t let me stop you, but personally, I headcanon that Minkowski and Dominik are still happily married to this day, if nothing else because Dominik is probably pretty well off if he has his own secretary plus whatever salary bump it’s implied that Cutter gave him after Minkowski started working for Goddard, and he is probably more than happy to provide lodging and support to his wife’s loyal crew who saved her life upon their return. It’s the least they deserve after the horrors they went through: a lifetime of luxury vacations and five star hotels on Dominik Koudelka’s dime. Plus I feel like the reactions of the crew would be so funny. Minkowski invites them to stay with her since they have no place to go, and they’re worried about taking up all this space in her house, but then they get to her place and realize how big it is and are like “finding out you were married was shocking enough, but HE AND HIS FAMILY ARE INSANELY RICH TOO??? And super generous and willing to let us be your free loader roommates in your million dollar mansion to thank us for saving you??? Why on Earth would you not mention this earlier?” And Minkowski’s like “he’s a wonderful person and is the love of my life, the fact that he and his family have tons of money is not why I married him, nor is it a detail I was required to share with any of you”. Anyway, now Doug and Jacobi are getting invited to all these fancy rich people VIP events with Minkowski and Dominik and Minkowski has to beg them not to embarrass her (*cut to these grown men doing cannonballs in the country club pool*).

That’s about it for the main popular and canon ships. I suppose if you want to include Lovelace’s crew or some of the other crews, you could get healthy romantic ships out of that (although they’d unfortunately still be tragically doomed for obvious reasons). As for the other characters, I know Hilbert is mostly just for crack ships, but I also feel like the character would be so disgusted at the thought of being shipped with anyone, platonically or romantically. He’s not as old as Pryce and Cutter, but he’s still old enough to be almost everyone else’s dad. I feel like if asked about workplaces relationships for an official form his reply would be “absolutely not. My coworkers are young enough to be my children. Children I don’t even like. Children I would disown.” “They’re in their 20s and 30s. That’s an adult.” “If they are adults, they might try acting like it.”

I also find any platonic or romantic ship with Rachel unbelievable unless it ends with her betraying them for power, which I think she’s done before. I made a post about it, but the fact that she immediately understood the choice Cutter was facing when he had to decide whether rescuing Pryce was worth risking the mission makes me think she’s been in a similar situation.

To make a classic Bods’ long post short (too late), all these relationships fascinate me whether you choose to see them platonically or romantically (everyone has their preferences), but although many of them have canon evidence and strong narrative appeal, most if not all of them are tragic, toxic, or in the case of some of the romantic ones, out of character and/or random. I do understand the appeal and encourage you to ship what you want, write the relationships the way you wish they were (sometimes we all need that), but at the same time, the canon shipping and relationships thing being mostly sad and/or toxic is not just an SI-5 or Kepler and Jacobi exclusive issue. I just wish we had more redemption arcs and had them sooner. Then maybe we could have nice things. But no. So many of these characters just HAD to go and be evil and ruin not only their own relationships, but other people’s too. Sad.

Ok. Tbh. I have been following u for a bit and idk shit about tf2 but I want to play now. Any tips for a first timer?

Ofc! I'm glad my stupid blog is making people want to Actually try to play tf2, I was driven to try out tf2 from Tumblr and I'm happy I can be part of that in other people's lives now :) here's some of the advice I always give, as a guy who is himself bad at games

DO NOT go straight from training into casual. The training mode is not particularly good and doesn't fully familiarize you with the game enough to start playing casual with strangers. Tf2 has existed for a longass time and you're gonna be in casual with people who have played for longer than you. Instead, practice in private servers with friends and/or with bots until you feel you've gotten a decent grasp on whichever classes you want to play (I did it until I was okay at all of them, but I know that's not everyone's style). This probably will not make you GOOD, but it'll make you good enough for casual.

Don't be afraid of playing casual once you've actually familiarized yourself with the game and how everything works. It's not scary, it's not hard, people aren't mean. There aren't even that many bots now I'm dead serious it's gotten way way better

Part of getting familiar with tf2 is figuring out HOW you like to play each class, because within each class there are a lot of different ways to play. There aren't necessarily "better" weapons for the most part, just weapons that alter the style of gameplay. You don't really need to buy weapons either, although I won't say you're not allowed to spend 99 cents on a gun you prefer; playing casual and competitive both have that item drop system that can give you a lot of new items if you're a new player, and if you have friends who have played a lot before you, you can probably ask them for their unwanted items. You might think you hate a class until you change your loadout a bit and find out they're actually pretty fun

This is a very generic tip but I mean it so so so genuinely, the most important thing is to HAVE FUN. If something isn't fun, you don't need to do it! If a certain server is giving you shit, leave and find a new one! If it sucks, hit da bricks. It's tf2 do not let anyone trick you into believing it's meant to be serious

disclaimer: I am obviously not the best most amazing writer, so these are just my personal thoughts !!! I'm sure there are other users out there with better insights !!!

when I started writing I was like really really really shit like PROPER shit it's actually fucking embarrassing reading back to it 💀 but idk sometimes it's just fun to look back and see all the improvements I've made along the way — for you, it might be that way too. you might feel like it's shit to begin but honestly the more you write, the easier it becomes and naturally you'll improve ! so I think the best mindset to have when you start is to just try, and be okay with the fact that it will obviously not be your best work and you'll just get better and better and better!

here are some writing tips I've previously written - I'll reiterate some of the points there but maybe give it a read and see if it helps?

I think it's easiest to start with one idea and use it as a seed — just let ideas slowly grow from it; keep adding little details and details until it sprouts into a big tree! for example, you can pick a trope that you really like (maybe something you've read before in someone else's fic, or something you've seen in movies/tv shows/books) and then pick a member from whichever group you want to write for (I'm assuming enhypen since you're on my blog) and just write!! for example, you can pick enemies to lovers and then be like hmmm I really want to do jay and enemies to lovers! from there, you can think about the smaller details: why are they enemies (plot)? what do enemies say to each other (dialogue)? where are they when they say these things (setting)?

I think it's easier to write the kind of things that you like to read! so if you really like one shots, write a one shot. if you like smaus, write an smau. if you like headcanons, do the same! stick to whatever you've seen before because then it'll feel a little less daunting! personally, I used to read a lot of like stupid little romcoms growing up and so that's just naturally what I kind of write now ^^ you'll notice that everyone has different taste; so you might see someone's writing and be like "wow it's really good!" and people might disagree with you — in saying that, don't try to please everyone and just write whatever u like ^^ you'll attract people who personally gravitate toward your writing !

tbh, fic writing is nowhere near the same calibre of actual book writing so I wouldn't fret too much about designing a really intricate plot with like fully-fleshed characters because nobody really does that anymore (at least not on blr? i think that's more common on wattpad where people have like 20+ chapters ya feel) — I think just write what makes you happy! If it's about your bias + a trope you like then ezz that's all u need to do hdfshsdh

there are people who like to fully plan out fics and there are people that just wing it — I'm sure you'll find your style, but don't feel worried if you can't seem to brainstorm anything! I think it's easier to just start, and then think about that could happen next. maybe you can start a story with dialogue and then just continue on with the conversation !!

when you're writing scenes, think about setting and characters — for example, think about how they feel, how they react to another character’s dialogue, how they physically react to someone's touch, how cold or hot the weather is, where they're standing/sitting and what their surroundings look like, what time it is, etc. etc. obviously don't include everything (especially the irrelevant stuff) but my point is that there are so many different directions you can go!

here are some other tips I can think of:

read your dialogue out loud and think to yourself, "would someone actually say this?" also, make sure only one person speaks per paragraph so it's less confusing

use a thesaurus sparingly — try not to use convoluted language bc I'd say people who read your work are going to be around the same age as you and idk it's just a lil weird if you're using random words that nobody really uses irl

pay attention to your grammar/syntax — make sure some sentences don't run too long and that when you read it out loud, it makes sense!

also spell-check HSDHDS BUT HONESTLY MY FICS ARE RIDDLED W TYPOS LIKE IT DOESNT RLLY MATTER TBH.. SO LONG AS ITS NOT HORRIBLE?? UHH

treat your characters like real people and think about what they say/do and if it's something in or out of character!! in saying that, give them motivations and fears and all the juicy stuff that real humans have — if you care about writing a story that people will remember, then I think it'd be great if you could write memorable characters by fleshing them out and making them lovable or hate-able(?) or relatable.

make sure scenes flow from one to the other — it's the same as you do with your eng essays! you make sure you're not talking about one thing before quickly jumping to the next. I think you can apply the same logic to writing fiction :))

honestly it's hard to give tips because I'm not sure what type of stories you want to write and what direction you're going for, so I'm really sorry if my tips were a little too generalised!! but if I'm gna be like so so so so fr right now, I honestly think writing for enhablr can be easy/simple — my tl;dr is that you should just pick a member + easy trope + make sure you have a mildly interestingly plot and once you add in decent grammar, you'll probably do really great! I don't mean this in a bad way, I just think ff writing doesn't have to be too difficult because most people just want to read about and imagine their bias in situations they'll never be able to see irl (its kinda the whole point of ff)!! I don't think people think much about fics beyond that !! this is all just for fun!!! so I really hope u have fun writing!!! lmk what u end up working on ^^

Nostalgia want to make you blame everyone and everything else for why your life isn’t like how it was when you were a child when the simple answer for that is that it’s just because you’re not a child anymore and actually…that’s fine. That’s literally how it’s supposed to be? That’s life and why that’s something negative for you and why you would want to permanently remain a child is mysterious to me.

Also, like no shit technology is better now than in the 90s. No shit animation companies will use the newer and better technology that makes it easier and yes better. Alright, I need some structure

I’m thinking, when I can play for real in person, I will go to the klassic towers to get either tower endings (though I think I will pause them for a bit), do the requirements (the fatal blows seem to be hard to get with ai) and get some gear xp (via the selfish mercy method (which can’t be done on ai), or via the other side augment… whichever seems to work best)

(I will feel better about switching gear more often if I open the slots with xp, so while it’s not necessary it will be nice. And I can get koins or souls for mercies too, and I will need to get the requirements anyway)

When I can only use the ai, I will do the character towers and also regular towers (with the guests to get their stuff, or with the other characters to see if I can get more of their stuff, and ofc to get race against time points) (also i’ll try to get stuff like skip tokens, gear xp tokens and that gear xp konsumable if i can)

I think I will pause with the endings because I already have a bunch of character towers open to work on, but we’ll see. Working on them is legit fun. They just feel like they will never end and that is a bit discouraging

Tbh the amount of fights in the character towers is also discouraging. I underestimated them, because the fight themselves aren’t as hard as some boss towers and the ai can do them in one go, but damn they take forever even so

Which is why I think it may be better not to try to do everyone at once. I should have began this earlier so I could get the requirements during regular fights for random rewards, but well. Getting the requirements isn’t hard either, just, again, tiring because it takes long
