I made a few new wax seal stamps out of clay (like the ones I did for my worldbuilding stuff forever ago), this time just of random symbols that I thought might look good done in the style of painting over the raised part of the wax or etc. :0c Some of them aren't carved deep enough to really show up that well, but overall they worked okay for being clay lol

svsss au where there's a system glitch that happens as shen yuan saves liu qingge from his qi deviation, resulting in sy's system being linked to lqg as well. aka, they share a system account. they share quests and points and everything. this... Changes things. such as well, the implications and fallout of an early system/identity reveal to one person, someone that hated the original shen qingque. but also, lqg being forced to have to work together and cooperate with an "imposter"! like in my head i can see lqg being rlly conflicted abt everything that's going on at the start. sy will get over it somewhat quickly i think because sure, why not, fuck you system!! but also in pidw lqg isn't a major character so i can see him having less hangups abt working w him. like his experience w lqg is basically a blank slate. but lqg? he has history w sqq. he simultaneously is on a blank slate and a huge monolith of history/shared experiences/past. he needs to not only adapt to that but also his new situation of sharing sy's system.

i've been microwaving this idea in my head for the last day or so and mmmm yes.s i love lqg. i haven't read svsss in like 4 or 5 years maybe so my memory of certain things is kinda fuzzy but i Cannot get this au idea out of my head

me, to myself: I've been ranting for over 20 years about my gripes with the Peter Jackson LOTR movies and especially their tremendously influential (mis)handling of Gondor, Aragorn, the legacy of Númenor, Elrond, etc, and been consistently annoyed by how much their fans insist on uncritical glorification while also trying to present themselves as fandom underdogs who must defend these inescapable behemoths from the smallest slight. Maybe I should try to focus on other things and put them behind me.

All these years later, the biggest mystery of Angel the Series is how Kate Lockley survived her attempted suicide in Season 2's Epiphany.

I don't mean the surface level "how did Angel, a vampire, manage to get into Kate's apartment without being invited in first?" mystery the show half-heartedly tries to set up (and which it will never come back to, obviously, because this episode is Kate's very last appearance and she will be mentioned just one more time). I'm interested in that one about as much as the writers were, which is to say I don't care about it at all.

No, the real mystery is -- on a show that began with Angel and Doyle trying and failing to save City Of's ... victim-of-the-week Tina and bonding over how sad this failure made them; a show which retconned a tragically dead (but never mentioned before) younger sister for Angel himself, and also made sure to establish and then kill off a younger sister for Charles Gunn when he was first introduced; a show which abruptly killed off Lilah Morgan so that a man could be sad about it and then wrote her out of the show despite establishing she was still capable of coming back from hell to represent the wishes of the Senior Partners if they'd wanted her to stay on for another season; a show that killed off Darla (twice!) and killed off Cordelia and killed off Fred, all three women dying in ways that just happened to involve inexplicable magical pregnancies or unwanted personality changes or massive violations of their bodily autonomy (or all three) -- how on earth did the writers manage to resist the urge to have Kate die too?

Truly a puzzle for the ages.

also idk im not really a fan of the way rick's writing annabeth man. its like why is the only girl in this trio the 'most responsible' and always ahead of everything adn why are the boys seen as 'not knowing anything' and 'knuckleheads' and always depending on annabeth for some plan like everything about the dynamic feels so off to me the way he wrote them in this book. its so difficult not to look at it from a gendered perspective cuz like why is there a section where were talking about how great a mother annabeth would be. like i get percy is all sentimental & family oriented & knows he wants to marry her and have kids w her and whatever but theres a difference btwn percys pov of her & ricks depiction of her.
