Quite brave to open a pdf of improbable size from an anonymous source

Just downloaded a PDF off of itch.io that's over 100MB in size in spite of being a whole ten pages long because every single page – even the ones which contain nothing but text – is an uncompressed 300ppi bitmap. Like, buddy.

#i assume there was more context that made it trustworthy #pdfs have a few security exploits that bad actors can. ykno. exploit. this goes technically for any file tho #anyone dedicated enough could find a way take over your device. but no single private laptop is worth the effort #anyway only download files from sources you trust unless youre confident in your anti-virus #which tbh you probably can be for any standard level threat. which is a vast majority of them because see above #also for bonus context: 300 ppi (pixels per inch) is typically what you use for high quality printing. for digital images the default is 72 #this usually only becomes relevant if webcomic artists want to publish a physical edition and have to upscale their whole work
