Do you think LWJ took the advantage of being a Young Master of a prominent clan to publicly display the people he hates? (We know who that is) I saw someone claim about it and It's haunting my head.
Hi anon,
I’ll start first by saying that I think the novel does, to a degree, understand that there are people who have, to use Bourdieu’s terms, forms of ‘capitals’ that others do not and integrate that into the narrative and character dynamics. LWJ has not only capital due to his position as a gongzi and the son of a Leader (then later, as heir-in-line) to one of the prominent clans, but also due to his stellar reputation and fighting abilities (and to a degree, the fact he is a man). All this allows him to have a wider range of actions that are considered ‘acceptable/legitimate’ versus another person with different or lesser forms of capital--think for instance of the reaction and consequences when LWJ challenges what powerful men are saying (making up) about WWX versus when daughter-of-a-servant MianMian does the same. However, I find it weird to frame that as LWJ “getting away” with something--with his character, it’s more like he is able to have an opinion or stand up against injustices with less chances of getting punished and ridiculed for it.
Now, if it is about Jiang Cheng, it is kind of a myopic argument to be saying that LWJ “gets away” with “publicly hating JC”. First because by that point JC is technically even higher in the social hierarchy, being a literal Sect Leader. But it’s also weird to phrase this as “publicly hating JC”: LWJ is not running around badmouthing JC or the Jiang sect--the pettiest we see him is when he doesn’t silence LJY when he engages in gossip about JC. Instead we see LWJ standing up against JC when the situation calls for it, which is not the same. Of course, as JC does, it can be considered as an inherent ‘insult’ since it makes JC ‘lose face’ but I think there is a difference. And it’s not like JC does not get away with being impolite towards LWJ and the Lan sect, something we see at Dafan Mountain.
We know with the MXY altercation that JC was ready to kill him on sight for using modao (”Do you have any last words?”/“Break his legs? Haven’t I told you? If you see this sort of evil and crooked practice, kill the cultivator and feed him to your dogs!”). After LWJ intercepts, we have this exchange showing JC being impolite to a degree that prompts LJY to call him out for it, only bringing more disrespect for the Lans from JC:
He raised one brow and spoke, “Hanguang-Jun, you sure live up to your reputation of ‘being wherever the chaos is’. So, you had time to come to this remote area today?” [..] Right now, Jiang Cheng really didn’t seem too polite as he said the words in such a tone. Even the juniors who came following Lan Wangji did not seem comfortable hearing it.
Lan Jingyi spoke straightforwardly, “Isn’t Jiang-zongzhu here as well?”
Jiang Cheng replied grimly, “Tsk, do you really think that you should butt in when your seniors are conversing? The GusuLan Sect has always been known for its respectful conduct. Is this really how it teaches its disciples?”
It is imo more true to say that, due to LWJ’s higher and respected position in society, JC is not able to use his usual means of responding to someone challenging his decisions and thus making him lose face. This is again something we see during this altercation.
LWJ silences JL after he dismisses his mistreatment of other cultivators with the deity-binding nets. LWJ destroys the entirety of the diety-binding nets JC and JL were using to give JL an advantage over the other cultivators competing, something they were only able to do because of the Jiang and Jin sects considerable power and wealth. Is it daring of LWJ? Sure. Would he be able to do so without consequences if he was someone else? Probably unlikely, especially when we’re talking about JC. But is that ‘getting away’ with something? It’s literally the opposite scenario: LWJ is using his own status and capital to make it so that JL (and JC) are not getting away with what they are doing (although there are, in actuality, no consequences for their behaviours; they are just forced to give up on JL’s unfair advantages. Hell, LWJ even offers to pay for the nets he destroys, which I guess can also be taken as a baller move). What’s more, the novel even takes the time to point out that, if LWJ were not such a strong cultivator, JC might have pushed aside the risks of offending LXC and physically confronted him (let’s appreciate how this also serves as well-integrated exposition for their weapons).
Jin Ling’s grim expression was exactly the same as his uncle’s, “What can I do? It was their own fault for stepping into the traps. I’ll solve everything after I finish capturing the prey.”
Lan Wangji frowned. Jin Ling was about to speak again, but he suddenly realized that, shockingly, he could neither open his mouth nor make any sounds.
[...]
The man spoke in a low voice, “Not long ago, a blue sword flew over and destroyed the deity-binding nets that you had set up.”
Jiang Cheng glanced at Lan Wangji harshly, his displease plastered all over his face, “How many were broken?”
[...]
Although four hundred deity-binding nets were a whopping price, it wasn’t too much for the YunmengJiang Sect. Nonetheless, losing the nets were a small matter, but losing face was not. With Lan Wangji’s actions, Jiang Cheng felt a whirlpool of anger at the bottom of his heart, rising higher by every second. He narrowed his eyes, his left hand casually stroking the ring on his right hand’s index finger.
[...]
However, after stroking it for a while, Jiang Cheng compelled himself to restrain his hostility.
Although he was displeased, as the leader of a sect, he needed to take more things into consideration, which meant that he couldn’t be as impulsive as Jin Ling. After the fall of the QingheNie Sect, among the Three Great Sects, the LanlingJin Sect and the GusuLan Sect were quite close due to the personal relationship between the two leaders. By leading the YunmengJiang Sect alone, he was already in an isolated situation among the three. Hanguang-Jun, or Lan Wangji, was quite a prestigious cultivator, while his elder brother Zewu-Jun, or Lan Xichen, was the leader of the GusuLan Sect. The two brothers had always been on good terms with each other. It was best to not openly dispute with Lan Wangji.
Also, Jiang Cheng’s sword, “Sandu (三毒, Sāndú),” had never made actual contact with Lan Wangji’s sword, “Bichen,” and it was not yet decidable whose hands would the deer die on. Although he owned the powerful ring, “Zidian (紫电 Zǐdiàn),” a family heirloom of his, Lan Wangji’s guqin, “Wangji”, was also known for its abilities. The thing that Jiang Cheng hated the most was to be disadvantageous during a fight. Without complete confidence in his success, he would not consider fighting with Lan Wangji.
Now if it is about Su She, again what does LWJ truly do?
He silences him in the Demon-slaughtering cave? Although we’d be hard-pressed to believe LWJ respects Su She after what he’s seen him do in the Xuanwu Cave, the guy is literally trying to get everyone there killed and being a smartass to WWX while at it. And if it had been extremely disrespectful of him, LQR could have lifted the spell--something once again that the novel points out. When it dissolves into a game of calling out between the MolingSu sect and the GusuLan sect, LWJ does not say anything, even if, as LJY points out, Su She was imitating him. It’s only when WWX starts going that LWJ takes part by acquiescing to the truths WWX lays out (which are, yes, damning for the Su She and the MolingSu sect). But again, there are layers to what WWX is doing: he’s not only trying to expose what is going on, but anger Su She into revealing he still has his spiritual powers as proof of what he has worked out. So while WWX and LWJ are being by some measures disrespectful, there is a point to how they are going at it.
Touching his chin, he grinned, “Well I was worried that you’d get mad if I asked him too many things in front of you, wasn’t I? But since you’ve told me to ask him already, I’ll go ahead and ask. Lan Zhan?”
Lan Wangji, “Mn.”
Wei Wuxian, “The MolingSu Sect was a sect that branched off from the GusuLan Sect, right?”
Lan Wangji, “Mn.”
Wei Wuxian, “Although it branched off, the MolingSu Sect’s techniques still used the GusuLan Sect’s techniques ‘as reference’, right?”
Lan Wangji, “Yes.”
Wei Wuxian, “One of the GusuLan Sect’s techniques, the Sound of Vanquish, has the effect of exorcising evil. Amongst them, the seven-stringed guqin was the most powerful, and so there is the greatest number of people who cultivate through the guqin. The MolingSu Sect did the same, and the guqin is the most common in their sect as well, is that correct?”
Lan Wangji, “That is correct.”
Wei Wuxian, “Although the MolingSu Sect’s leader left the GusuLan Sect with knowledge of its techniques when he founded his own sect, is own guqin skills weren’t anything special, and the disciples he taught often make many mistakes too, right?”
Lan Wangji answered with honesty, “Yes.”
Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji went on back and forth, speaking as though nobody was around. More and more people realized that they weren’t only mocking Su She, but rather taking something apart. Thus, they began to listen more carefully.
Next, Wei Wuxian slowed down, “… And that means, even when a section of the battle melodies that the MolingSu Sect played when killing corpses on Mass Grave Hill was wrong, the GusuLan Sect wouldn’t find it unusual, and only think that they made a mistake because of their inferior techniques and remembered the sheet music wrong, not taking the time to notice whether it was an accidental mistake or a mistake on purpose. Is this the case?”
Hearing the last question, Su She’s pupils shrunk. The hand he placed on the hilt of his sword was suddenly lined with veins. The blade of the sword was already half-an-inch unsheathed. On the other hand, Lan Wangji lifted his eyes at the same time. Both Wei Wuxian and he saw the sense of understanding in each other’s eyes.
He stated one word at a time, “This is the case.”
Su She unsheathed his sword with a clang. Wei Wuxian moved the blade of the sword to the side with two fingers and smiled, “What are you doing? Don’t forget. You’ve lost all your spiritual powers. Would threatening me like this do anything?”
Sword raised in his hand, Su She could neither attack nor put it down. He clenched his teeth, “Aiming at me for so long—just what are you trying to imply?”
As much as we love to talk about LWJ’s hidden sass and pettiness, he does not seem to ever be disrespectful without a reason, and it’s usually in the process of standing up for others. Reading his character as an illustration of a man in a position of privilege and power getting away with things is a little bit of a reach--particularly when JC is literally right there.

War for Genius - Chapter 10. Relations and news
Hello everyone!! Here’s the newest chapter! I want to thank to Empro8 for her help editing it 😊. You’re really helping me a lot with this.
This chapter is quite emotional, it has some family feeling moments, and OMG! I really feel sad for Donald, Dewey and Louie in this one.
Even that, I hope you’ll like it, so here we go
**************************************
Donald was desolated. A week had passed and there was no news from Huey. Every passing day made the sailor-dressed duck feel more and more desperate. Ten years ago, he lost his sister, and that hurt him… almost as much as the disappearance of his oldest nephew. But the difference between Della and Huey was that Della was an adult who made her own decisions, even if he hated the consequences it brought.
Huey in the other hand was an innocent child who was forcibly taken away from his home and kept separated from his family.
"Calm down Donald, we'll find him.” uncle Scrooge had told him, but... was his uncle really convinced of it?
Donald didn't know what to do. They didn't know why Huey had been kidnapped. But there was one thing that Donald was certain about, and it was that the culprit is Mark Beaks. They had no physical proof of it, but Donald felt the surety inside him and inside him knew it must be Mark Beaks.
"He’s given us access to all building’s parts, including the restricted section. He has even offered to be present when we register his other properties." that was what the officer Cabrera had told them when she and her agents finished their Waddle’s building registry.
Although Beaks’ cooperation with the police force might look like a sign of innocence, the sailor-dressed duck that wasn’t fooled. To be fair, Donald didn’t understand much about police investigation, but after years of seeing his uncle’s work the sea duck had a hard time believing that the leader of a technology company would be so cooperative, especially running the risk that with those registers’ information from one of his secret projects will be filtered.
Everything was too suspicious.
Donald sighed. So far, whenever the police had contacted his family, it had been to tell them the same thing: That they still had no clue to the whereabouts of the red-dressed triplet. It seemed as if the boy had vanished in the air.
Donald sighed again. He was perfectly aware that he wasn’t the only one suffering. His uncle Scrooge seemed to be moving heaven and earth trying to find his eldest grand-nephew, hardly even minding the expenses if it meant his nephew home safely.
Beakley had turned to keeping the family together as much as she could, knowing that she couldn’t allow them to lose hope that Huey would return.
Duckworth had become very silent. Although it was true that the ghost barely knew the boys, in the short time he knew them he had grown fond of them. Knowing that one of them was missing... left the Ghostly butler quite affected.
With regard to children... Webby kept searching maps and more maps, trying to determine possible places where Huey could be hidden. In addition to drawing a kind of network centered on Huey, his hobbies, likes, friends, enemies and, in short, all the information related to the triplet dressed in red. A commendable task, but Donald knew that it would be very difficult —maybe even impossible— for the young girl to determine the location of her missing friend by applying that search method.
And finally, Dewey and Louie. Donald knew that his nephews were probably the ones having the worst time. Well, even if they didn't admit it as openly as Huey, they all liked being triplets, and to know that one of them was missing... it was as if they were missing a part of themselves, and both ducklings were aware of that.
Donald understood that feeling perfectly. It was the same with Della. Both were twins, and when Della disappeared... Donald felt a deep emptiness that he didn't know if he could ever fill. But over time, and thanks to his nephews, Donald managed to (more or less) fill the void that Della left. Yes, his nephews saved him. Each one of them had certain attitudes, gestures, procedures, and small details that, to a greater or lesser extent, reminded him of his sister. And that made Donald feel that he hadn’t lost her at all, not while he had the children with him.
But Dewey and Louie... they needed their older brother, much more than Donald needed him. Without him, the two younger triplets seemed lost, like souls wandering aimlessly.
Speaking of his kids, maybe it wouldn't hurt to see how the boys were doing. So, the uncle went to the triplets’ room and slowly opened the door. At first, he was scared when he didn't see any of them in their own beds, but then he realized that they were both curled up and sleeping together in the older triplet’s bed. Donald couldn't help but be moved by that, it was as if Dewey and Louie felt that by sleeping there, they had their older brother closer.
It made his heart ache.
Donald closed the door again, not realizing that the two ducklings were dreaming... or rather having a nightmare, and even more incredible, they were both having the same nightmare.
************************************************************
Dream
Huey was sitting on the floor in a small, completely dark room. His back against the wall, his legs against his chest, and arms hugging his knees underneath his chin. The triplet dressed in red seemed thinner, his cheeks looked a little sunken, as if he wasn't eating all the food he needed.
He looked quite tired, and it was also quite clear that the boy had been crying... a lot, just as the traces of tears on his cheeks showed.
To the dude, a bucket with a roll of toilet paper could be seen, which made brought attention to the denigrating situation in which the older triplet was in.
Huey's head suddenly perked up when a noise was heard, like a spinning key. The boy instantly stood and approached the door, anxiously waiting for it to open. The door opened a little, allowing a thin line of light to enter the small space, but it didn’t open long enough for the duckling to squeeze through. In that space, Falcon Graves’ figure appeared. The duck looked up at the hawk with pleading eyes and said:
“Please let me out of here. Even if it's only five minutes.”
New tears were forming in his eyes as he watched Graves, waiting for an answer. The hawk looked hard at the boy, as if saying: ‘Get away or I’ll close the door again.’
The dressed in red duckling's eyes widened in fear and slowly backed away, allowing the hawk to enter the small space with a plate of food and a glass of water, which he left on the ground. After doing this, Graves straightened and crossed his arms looking at Huey, as if indicating that he would stay there until the boy ate.
Huey looked at the food sadly and let out a tired sigh. After accommodating himself as best he could on the ground, he began to slowly eat what the hawk had brought him, alternating it with a sip of water from time to time. It was as if the young boy knew that this was all the food he was going to eat who knew how long, so he needed to savor it.
When he finished eating, Graves picked up the empty plate and the glass and prepared to leave the room, but stopped when he felt a tug on his jacket. Looking down, the hawk saw Huey looking at him again with pleading eyes.
"Please..." said the boy in barely a whisper.
Falcon frowned and shoved the boy away, sending him staggering, but it was not enough force to make him fall.
When Huey looked up again, he saw the door close, casting the room in darkness ones again. The duckling's beak began to shake, and new tears rolled down his cheeks. All he wanted was to get out of there and return to his family... but... every moment the boy spent there, alone, in complete darkness, he felt his hopes slowly vanish like clouds on a windy day.
In the end Huey fell to his knees and his body fell forward, the only thing that prevented him from making contact with the ground was that he rested all the weight of the upper part of his body on his hands’ palms. And so, in that position, the duckling began to sob openly. Between sobs, the boy said with trembling, barely audible voice:
"Please... someone get me out of here... I don't know how long I can take it,"
And then he added:
"Uncle Donald, guys, Webby, Uncle Scrooge, Mrs. Beakley, Launchpad, Duckworth... I want to go home."
End of the dream
**************************************************************
Dewey and Louie suddenly shouted their older brother’s name, the scream was so sudden and unexpected that Donald jumped when he heard it and quickly returned to the triplets’ room to see how his nephews were.
When he saw them, they were both crying, hugging each other. Donald wasted no time and climbed to the upper bed, his boys needed comfort, they needed him.
As soon as he climbed into the upper bed, the two children threw themselves into their uncle's arms, crying, sobbing and shaking uncontrollably. Donald hugged them tightly, because there was little else, he could do. He couldn't talk to them until they calmed down a bit.
The boys’ scream must’ve alert the rest of the mansion’s inhabitants, because soon all were gathered in the triplets’ room, contemplating the scene between Donald and his nephews. After a few minutes, the boys seemed to calm down enough to explain what happened. Donald broke away from them and asked:
"Boys, what happened? Are you alright?"
Dewey after drying his tears, looked at his uncle and answered:
"I... I had a nightmare about Huey, uncle Donald. He was locked in a small, completely dark room, and they wouldn't let him out of there..."
Louie suddenly added:
“And he was thinner, as if he was barely fed and it also seemed that he was crying… a lot.”
Dewey looked at his younger brother and exclaimed:
"Exactly!"
Scrooge who, until then had remained silent, suddenly spoke:
"Wait a minute, lads. Are ye saying that ye had the same dream?"
The two younger triplets looked at each other and then back to their great-uncle, answering:
"It seems."
Scrooge frowned slightly and then focused on the triplet dressed in green. He said:
"Okay, so... Louie, what happened next?"
The boy dressed in green seemed surprised by what his great-uncle asked and explained:
“A hawk opened the room’s door carrying a plate of food and water.”
Scrooge nodded and leaned forward urgently, asking:
"That hawk... how did he look like?"
Louie thought for a moment and replied:
“He was tall and muscular, brown plumage, dressed in a suit, hard look, thick eyebrows and head feathers combed back.”
After that description, Scrooge turned to his other nephew and asked:
"Does his description fit yours with, Dewey?"
Dewey nodded and replied:
"Yes, and he was Falcon Graves."
Donald raised his eyebrow and asked his uncle:
"Where do you want to go with this, Uncle Scrooge?"
The older duck looked at his nephew and patiently explained:
“I think the lads had more than a dream. What they saw was what Huey is experiencing.”
Webby eyes widened as she heard that piece of information. In an excited voice asked:
"Really? Like some sort of brotherly connection??"
Scrooge looked at his honorary niece and replied:
"I think it's quite likely, it is said that twins and triplets sometimes have a kind of link that holds them together even though they are physically apart."
Then he turned back to the two younger triplets and continued:
"It is likely that what you two saw in that dream was the result of this connection you have between you. Tell me, what happened next?”
Dewey took a deep breath and continued explaining:
"Graves gave Huey the food, and stayed there with him until he finished eating it. When he did..."
Dewey's voice went out, so Louie continued with the explanation by saying:
"Graves left the room and closed the door, leaving Huey again in the dark."
After finishing, the two children looked at each other with a worried expression, an expression that didn’t go unnoticed by the rest of those present. So, crossing her arms, Beakley asked:
"Boys... is something else going on?"
The children looked down and then Dewey said:
"Huey... he looked like if he..."
Louie took a deep breath and finished what the they both were thinking:
"He seemed about ready to give up."
Dewey thanked his brother that it was he who had concluded the explanation, and then, looking at his uncle Donald, the little duck dressed in blue said in a slightly anxious voice:
"We’ve got to hurry to find him, Uncle Donald, he needs us."
As if it were waiting for it’s cue this whole time, Scrooge's mobile phone rang at that moment. Everyone stared at the gold apparatus while he answered:
"Yes? Who is it?... Ah Gyro, wait I'll put you on speaker.”
The billionaire duck activated the speaker phone and said:
"It’s done Gyro, you can talk."
Soon the scientist's voice was heard throughout the room. The chicken explained:
“Yes, as I was explaining to you Mr. McDuck, my intern had the idea of designing a device capable of hacking any computer system that was within a twenty-meter action’s radius. We believe that by doing this, we could discover more information about what Beaks could be hiding from us.”
There was a sepulchral silence in the room after this explanation, until Scrooge managed to articulate:
"Gyro that's..."
Dr. Gearloose finished for him by suggesting:
"A complete stupidity?"
But Scrooge with an excited voice simply replied:
"No, genius! When could yeh have it ready?"
Gyro said:
"Oh, it's ready, you just need to install it. When would you like to do it?"
Scrooge looked at the rest of the room’s occupants, saw their determination, their readiness, and knew instantly what answer he should give. He did so by answering:
"Immediately."
*****************************************************
And here ends this chapter. Since it’s been a week since Huey’s kidnapping, I thought it’d be good to show how’s the family facing it. Also, I really wanted to put Dewey and Louie dreaming about Huey and what is he going through. I hope you liked it. If it’s so, please don’t doubt on leave a review, they’re always welcome 😊
Also, poor Donald, after his sister’s lost, he’s to face the possibility of lose another family member. When I first wrote this in Spanish, someone wondered how would this situation be for Donald if he hadn’t had Scrooge’s help. Imagine Donald losing Huey before he reunited with Scrooge again. He’d surely be completely lost at this point.
Well, as always, I want to tank to all the people who’s read this story, the ones who commented, those who reblogged it and: @dragonsareawesome123 @hakuneki07 @greatgamedota @ray-of-color@alphatheplant @squackcrowquack @gamerfansims389 @softlemonboi @infamousquack @gandra-deee @queenveryrandom @i-cant-find-any-creative-name @jennamberking @gizmovi @hopeless-chicana @lilmissradio @intergalacticinterference @marshmeadow12 @thesuperepicawesomefireninja @worldsbesteagle @falcongraves @welovelouie for the likes. "You had been shaking with adrenaline and from whatever drug a group of guys had forced into your mouth." undeniably shows assault + the bruises cuts & fleeing for her safety. that IS assault. dont downplay that. Im aware that switching schools isnt easy but it is very doable especially if, as u mentioned MANY times, everyone's life is in actual danger? Sorry that is very abusive and unrealistic. u also said theyre in a frat house. I feel as though this was irresponsibly written & poorly warned.
Hi hun, again, I apologize for the scene that we’re talking about. Yes it’s triggering. And yes, the warnings that I had put in place could have been more specific than what they are, there is no denying that. I really do mean it when I say it’s not my intention to trigger anyone, that is why I put warnings at the start of all my fics. However, I still stand by the statement that I made at 2am when I responded to your first message, as that was not how I had meant for the scene to read as. On my end, I had intended for it to be a scene of things getting out of hand, and as a result, the reader leaves - in this case - runs to Namjoon’s place when realizing that they’re near his place. Obviously, what I wrote did not come across that way, so I understand your discomfort in regards to it and I will work on that for future stories that I plan to write.
Before I go any further, I would like to repeat myself in that this story is fanfiction. I say that, because from the way you’ve worded yourself, it looks as if I was telling something that had actually happened in real life. It’s fiction. Yes, I said I try to write things that are in a realistic way, but ultimately this is fiction, so things are exaggerated or different from reality.
Now continuing with the school aspect, I don’t know what level of education you’re at, whether you’re in high school or are going to college, or have graduated from university. When I write my fics that are intended to be College AUs, I normally go based off of how my university is run. With that being said, even in cases like this, or lesser or even worse case scenarios, switching schools in college/uni is completely different than if the person was in high school. It’s not something you get to decide right then and there. Besides all the paperwork, finances come into play; is the person on a scholarship that they can only have at this school? The cost of tuition, of books, school fees, housing fee, rent, and more, are completely different for every college and university. Is the person’s parents paying for their education? Or is the student paying for everything on their own and having to take loans out while working a job - or several - to make ends meet?
Then there’s location. Does the person live at home and save money that way? Do they have a job that they depend on? Do they have family that they need/want to be around? Then there’s the reason for why someone may pick a school. Do they offer certain programs that aren’t offered at other colleges? Do they even have what the person wants to major in? Is this school known for having a high amount of students graduating from a specific field? There are endless factors that come into play when making the decision to attend college, and they all have to be reconsidered again if you want to - not switch but ultimately drop out - of college A to go to college B. And that’s even if you get accepted to college B. And will your credits transfer over? Will you have to spend an extra year to make up for the classes/credits you lost and have to make up? There are some grants and loans that will only pay for the first four years at a college.
If none of these factors come into play, then yes, it is very easy to switch colleges. But I’ll have you know, I personally know people who have been raped on campus or assaulted, and they still attend the same college because of the factors that I mentioned above came into play. So it is not doable for everyone.
Also, after doing a search in my word doc for Consequences, yes, you are right. I did mention frat house. Exactly 1 time. Which I probably forgot to take out while editing or just didn’t even think that it would imply that it was a fraternity, especially as the story continues and there is not one single reference to their home being a part of, or having any association directly with the school. They’re simply in a home, off campus. And like I had said last night, I drew inspiration from The Outsiders, a book and movie that focuses on the Curtis brothers where they and their friends form a “gang” as a result of being so close to each other and they stick by each other whether it’s for good or for bad. Namjoon - in this story - is an overly jealous boyfriend and ex-boyfriend who was insecure of his relationship with the reader when seeing how close the reader got with Jungkook. I wrote Namjoon as the “leader” of this so-called “gang” and friend group, as a play on the role he has as leader of BTS in real life. I thought it was cute.
In this story though, by the reader sneaking off to be with Jungkook, who is an extremely close friend to Namjoon, and a part of this “gang” yes it’s bad and as I said, life-threatening, especially for the others who are lying to Namjoon so that Kook and the reader can sneak off at times. Trust and loyalty, two things that Namjoon holds as highly important, are being broken by the people he considers family. Like in a “gang” there are fights. There were fight scenes in The Outsiders as well. At most, the members would most likely get in a physical fight with Namjoon if things went sideways and nothing more. I don’t know what else would have happened, because I wrote this as a stand alone piece with no intention of doing a part 2, so I left it up to the readers to decide what happens to everyone at the end of the story. Do they sneak off? Do the others get caught lying? I don’t know, because I did not have any plans of continuing on this specific story.
At the end of the day, Consequences is simply a story that I wrote. Looking at it now, yes, it’s not the greatest fic I have written, and there are certainly parts that I would change or rewrite including the three to four short paragraphs where the reader has a flashback to that triggering scene. But again, this is fanfiction, and it’s a fiction piece. This is not meant to be a what to do if you find yourself in this scenario. And again, while I agree that my warnings could have been more specific, at the end of the day, I put them there for a reason and you - as the reader - are the one who is supposed to make the judgement call on whether or not you continue reading. There are several stories, even ones posted by my friends, where if I see something in their warning section that I may not agree with even if it’s a small thing, I’ll simply not read it. However, you made the decision to continue reading Consequences, I did not say you had to. You could have even stopped reading once you reached that scene and decided that you were not comfortable with it, but you didn’t.
Again, I am sorry if this triggered you, or made you uncomfortable as that was not my intention, and I will work on my writing and editing skills and make sure I have the appropriate warnings written out for future fiction stories.

Thoughts on Powers of X #2
We’re working on a deadline here, so let’s get to it!
Once Again, We Return...to Octopusheim (X^0):
In this section, Charles and Moira go to Octopusheim to share what they’ve learned with Magneto in order to gain his support for their whole mutant unity masterplan.
Thanks to the timeline infographic from last issue, we know exactly when this particular meeting at Octopusheim is happening - it’s Year 43, four years before the “Moira/Xavier/Magneto schism,” six years before the Genoshan genocide, and nine years before the present day. This timing is quite interesting, because it suggests a high degree of patience on their part. After all, it’s been twenty six years since Moira first introduced herself(herselves?) to Charles, which is a lot of time to not make moves. On the other hand, having a head start didn’t help in earlier lives, so there may be some other rationale.
There’s a really interesting echoing of Giant-Sized X-Men #1, with Xavier explicitly in the role of recruiter once again (we’ll see other pitches of his throughout the rest of HoX/PoX). The difference is that rather than relying on his normal posture of benevolent, almost wizardly, superior knowledge, Charles is using an admission of mutual fault to put them on an even level, which is necessary to gain Magneto’s trust for the psychic link to Moira.
Incidentally, when it comes to character voice, Hickman does an impressive job of nailing not just Magneto but the specific era of Magneto when Chris Claremont re-invented him as the Miltonian anti-villain holding the world to ransom in the name of enlightened despotism and mutant self-protection. “Who determines waht is truly good and truly evil?...I do. I decide.” is particularly well-observed, right down to his ironically Nietzschean self-conception.
At the same time, Moira’s query is clearly meant to shift the terms of discussion from the scientific (”you’re a specialist, specializing in the behavior of mutants”) to the religious. As her warning that “my truth is profound and life changing. It’s primal...” suggests, Moira is testifying in the Protestant sense of the word.
What follows is a series of psychic images of failure that bring the Satanically-proud Magneto to his knees, but remain really ambiguous: his death by Sentinel could be from pretty much any life other than 9, although 4 or 5 seem most likely; given his costume, the image of him in chains seems to be from the Trial of Magneto, which could be in Life 4 or 10; the central image of him with furious glowing eyes could be generic or perhaps a reference to the couple times he’s used artifical power-boosters; the image of him in a SHIELD tank being observed by Nick Fury is unclear; and him fighting the Shadow King is particularly singular, since the Shadow King has yet to show up in the narrative. Interestingly, we don’t see Moira showing him his death at Apocalypse’s hands in Life 9.
For his own part, Xavier is preaching a much more secular argument: mutant unity in order to not merely survive but thrive, which is very Adam Smithian. I’m not the expert that Nir Revel is when it comes to drawing parallels between Israeli history and HoX/PoX, but even with the one course I’ve taken in Israeli history, I could see the parallel between the bargain that Magneto strikes with Xavier (”I won’t acquiesce to sympathy or doubt...I won’t give an inch, I will check you at every moment of weakness”) reads a lot like the compromises made at the founding of the State of Israel between the leaders of the various political parties.
Then again, I think the allegory works for political leaders at the time of the founding of any number of nation-states, which is one of the things that makes the business of nation-building so very difficult. At every step, there are innumerable obstacles of the moment, yet the decisions made on how to overcome them will always have unforeseeable long-term consequences. Something to keep one’s eye on for the future.
Does It Need Doing? (X^1):
In a direct follow-up from Powers of X #1 and House of X #1, Cyclops gets briefed on the Mother Mold/Nimrod mission. Incidentally, I think this segment is a great counter-example to the somewhat overblown statements from some in the fandom that all of these characters are mindless pod-people who are acting out of character; throughout this briefing, Scott is consistently snarky in a very dry way that feels very in character to me.
Magneto’s pointed reference to Operation Paperclip with regards to Orchis I think further emphasizes an ongoing theme that Hickman’s working on with regards to nation-states, nation-building, and nationalism: no nation is free from sin. Even after fighting “the good war” against fascism, the U.S recruited Nazi scientists to give it a technological edge in the Cold War for the same stated reasons of necessity that drive both Krakoan and Orchis policy.
Following on from House of X #2, not only are humans a mere road-bump compared to Sentinels, but even Mother Mold itself is viewed as a secondary problem compared to the hostile AI singularity that is Nimrod.
And further showing how everything links to everything, this mission happens because of the information that Moira brought back from Life 9/X^2. More on this in a bit.
Machines Are Pure Information (X^2):
Speaking of which, we shift to another briefing on Krakoa, one life and a hundred years distant, in which Rasputin and Cardinal brief Apocalypse about the fruits of their own partially-successful clandestine mission.
While Apocalypse is very Apocalypsy in this segment, what with the idea that civilization is the fruit of war and that he’d happily sacrifice Rasputin and Cardinal both for the information he’s received, it is really interesting to see him talk about the powers and perils of information and the dangers of analysis paralysis; this last topic is particularly important as the series continues to explore the nature of these vast, universe-spanning consciousnesses. More on this in a bit.
Speaking of which, we see Nimrod the Lesser getting really distracted by trying to figure out what the mutants were up to, something that will arguably be his downfall. Incidentally, Nimrod’s casual execution of two humans for mouthing off to him not only suggests the lie at the heart of the Man-Machine Supremacy, but also that whatever kind of A.I he might be, he absolutely did not pass the “Heller-Faust line,” because he’s clearly a sociopath who lashes out violently due to emotional impulse.
Going back to Asteroid K, we go back to a discussion of how the machines’ problem is that they “archive every moment of everything,” which makes it impossible for them or anyone else to actually make use of the data. If we apply the same problem to the Phalanx and the other universe-spanning consciousnesses, which for all their vaunted intelligences seem to restrict themselves to consumption of resources and calculation of data without any higher purpose, I’m left wondering whether these singularities are actually idiot gods capering at the heart of the universe.
By contrast, the mutant resistance find their purpose in transcending the bare necessities of survival in the name of transcendant meaning.
Nimbus Infographic:
This infographic, read together with the one that ends the issue, is where we really start to see what X^3 is about, namely Hickman’s thinking on technological/mechanical transhumanism.
To begin with, we learn that the people I’ve been referring to as blutants describe themselves as “post-human,” which suggests that the “human-machine-mutant war” ultimately ended in some sort of synthesis between mutant and machine. Not only do the post-humans have “seer-selves,” but we see that Nimbus started as the “copying - and integration - of their minds into a single thinking machine.”
Moving on, it’s interesting to note that the language of X^3 is entirely focused on terms of assimilation between cultures - will it take place as a consensual “suitor-alliance” or forceful consumption of the lesser by the greater? Is there a difference, when we’re talking about the “ascension” of copied minds?
It’s not a good sign that Nimbus’ interaction with Niburu is all about using “force...to inject” a planet with consciousness, or that the Worldmind decides to take a detour to “consume multiple Saturinian and Jovian moons ino order to increase its...intellect.” Over and over again, intellect and consumption go hand in hand, but we never see intellect actually getting used for anything meaningful (transcendant or otherwise).
Universal Predators (X^3):
Speaking of which, we see in the next section that the whole project of the post-human Outreach project is to negotiate the terms of ascension so that their culture is “preserved” rather than “mined,” in a context in which civilizations interact seemingly only in terms of predator and prey.
It’s particularly ominous that the Phalanx’s opening words are that they “ate your worldmind,” in a process that involves a lost struggle for “sovereignty” - a term that should ring particularly ominously given Krakoa’s struggle to be recognized as a sovereign nation-state.
That the post-humans’ goal is ascension is likewise troubling, because of how closely it tracks the self-abnegating human religion of X^2 (which we’ll see in the next issue) and suggests that the post-humans have abandoned the biological transhumanism of the X^2 mutant resistance.
Types of Societies Infographic:
This infographic reads very differently in the wake of Powers of X #5, suggesting a trans-universe taxonomy of intelligences, with each rung on the ladder thinking it’s the biggest and baddest out there, only to become fodder for the next higher up.
As people have noted, Xavier’s backup of mutant minds through Cerebro potentially puts Krakoa on the ladder, since they’re potentially far above the SI:1 (Machine) level if they ever combine the backups.
At the same time, we’ll see in future issues a number of biomachines - the eight-person long-distance communications system we see in Powers of X , the Five-person (or six-person, given the integral role that Xavier/Cerebro plays) resurrection system, the six-person Krakoan systems (Interface, Transit/Monitoring, Defense/Observation, Secondary/External, Overwatch/Data Analysis), and possibly the five-part Cerebro system - that would seem to be a parallel to the SI:10 (HIve) level of machine consciousness.
Similarly, Cerebro’s database of mutant minds (or the population of Krakoa) could potentially go straight up the chain from Intelligence (SI:100-10,000) to Phalanx (SI:1,000,000)...if the database was turned into a consciousness of its own following the uncommon Kree model, although that would seem to run counter to Krakoan taboos.
Speaking of my skepticism about the intellect of these machine consciousnesses, the deception at the heart of the Technarch (SI:10,000) and Phalanx relationship suggests that, on a universe-wide scale, the Technarchs seem to be rather mindless drones whose only purpose is providing resources to their masters.
One thing that’s slightly odd about Hickman’s description of the Worldmind (SI:100,000) is that, based on its descriptions here, it really should be a Type I Kardashev civilization rather than a Type II, since the line between I and II is planetary vs. solar system-wide energy usage/control.
A final note on the ambiguity of the suitor-alliance vs. consumption relationship - while the post-humans view Ascension as an alternative, this infographic describes Ascension as “consuming” for the purpose of “adding to its intelligence needs.” Either way, you’re just food for thought.

Obscure Enemies of the NES TMNT Game
There is a shocking lack of coverage of the original TMNT NES game, outside of very justified commentary on its unfair difficulty and some poor design decisions (like the dam message).
But the TMNT NES game is unique in that it was very early in the for-kids TMNT canon, and has a lot of wacky concepts that don’t show up anywhere else. I’m not going to be bothering with Mousers and Foot Ninjas and the like, but baddies that are original to the game.
Unless otherwise noted, the names are my inventions, as only a few enemies got names/descriptions in the manual.
Sewer Bug - Your basic fly-back-and-forth baddie, the Sewer Bug is one of the less interesting entries. Its hard to tell from the sprite, but it is either some kind of mutated wasp or bee or its a robot bug-shaped drone used by the Foot, and either way it meshes well with TMNT.
Stick ‘em Up/the Roof Leaper (official name): From the manual: “Ignorant to the force of gravity this pesty (sic) sewer thug (the product of a horrible chemical spill) pounces about on ceiling pipes, waiting to rain terror from above.” Chemical spill created sewer mutants, now we’re talking. I love the implication that they’re immune to gravity because they don’t know about it.
Fire Freak (official name) and Clone: From the Manual: “An ex-pyromaniac from Brookyln, this hot dog takes careful aim before launching fireballs that turn into clones of himself.:” One assumes there was some mutagen involved in Fire Freak’s career change from pyromaniac to Foot Clan stooge. There’s something about “dude made of fire that throws other dudes made of fire at you” that’s very NES era, and I kinda want to see the new TMNT series have a go at updating this guy.
Mecaturtle (Official Name): From the Manual: “Appearing like your average turtle, this level 3 commander will show his true colors if you do him any harm.” They probably meant “Mechaturtle”, but the manual says “Mecaturtle” and so that’s his name. He’s basically the Terminator wearing an off-color Leonardo suit instead of the usual Austrianwear. Oh, and he’s got swords for hands and shoots missiles.
I have to wonder if Mecaturtle was a prototype for Metalhead and the other robo-turtles throught the series. The blue Leonardo with orange bands and pads disguise tempts me to figure customization.
Chansawiac: This guy is an enigma wrapped in a riddle wrapped in standard 80s video game logic. All we know for sure is he loves: 1) Chainsaws, 2) Waving chainsaws wildly while walking back and forth, 3) Purple pants with footies, probably not in that order. He seems to be wearing either a hockey mask, making him a lazy Leatherface/Jason mashup, or a fleshtone Iron Man helmet, which makes him my favorite SDCC cosplayer this year.
Divebombs: Krang saw the destructive power of a heat-seeking missile and said “That’s good, but can we make it slower and <urrrp> less effective?” His minions then come up with this, a nerf football missile with wings cribbed form a flying machine from Leonardo da Vinci’s notebooks. If you get near you, it dives at you like a suicidal hawk. I’d say this was a dumb idea for a weapon, but Krang’s minions literally have rocks in their heads, so I’ll grade on a curve and give this a B, mostly for creativity.
Rock Soldier: Maybe this golem-guy is supposed to be one of Krang’s rock soldiers? He crouches down into a “sleeping” position where he’s invulnerable only to get up and throw vague crescents of energy at you. Weirdly, there’s a badguy in the NES Wolverine game that had essentially the same shtick, so at least this guy kept working after the Foot let him and the rest of these guys go.
Spydrone: A basic flying robot spy that does damage on impact. Not much to write home about. Unless, of course, you’re a fan of the 1987 Jessica Tandy sci-fi/comedy Batteries Not Included.
Sky Prawn: Some kind of flying mutant bug or crustacean. They might be beetles, or shrimp with claws, or mosquitoes, but no matter what they are, they fly sideways and like to knock you out of the air while you’re making stupidly precise jumps.
Foot Balloon: Part of me really wants to think this was a toy concept that got abandoned. Its a balloon with a mechanical claw holding a bomb. It flies over you with its flapping wings (why?) and drops it, proving once again that the Foot are the leaders in the field of overly complicated explosive delivery systems.
Boomerang Bouncer: As a kid I thought this guy was a sort of sub-Bebop pig mutant, but now he looks more like Vin Diesel wearing red sweatpants and wraparound shades. He hops around like a jackass and throws boomerangs. In the 80s, Big Boomerang had an iron grip on the video game industry, so his inclusion was inevitable.
Wandering Eyes: They’re eyes with spider-legs, one of the most vulnerable parts of the human body, stripped of its meager defenses and let loose with nothing so much as a mouth. Look at how bloodshot they are. Every piece of dust they touch is burning agony. A normal spider would have been more dangerous but crawling eyes are more about psyching out the enemy than actually hurting them.
Unemployed Mutant Toad: The Turtles are doomed to run into mutant frogs or toads no matter where they go, and this game is no exception. They hop, they hit you with their tongues, pretty straightforward. Shredder hasn’t seen clear to give these guys clothing and they show no skills, martial arts or otherwise. If you squint, they might be tail-less chameleons, which is at least a bit more unique.
Big FleaKid: Big fleas have little fleas, Upon their backs to bite 'em, And little fleas have lesser fleas, and so, ad infinitum. Of the many, many enemies that hop in this game, this guy is my favorite. I love his blue colorscheme, his very humanoid-mutant bipedal design, the whole package. I imagine him as being a fast-talking swindler working for the Foot clan to make ends meet.
Wall Crawler: One of Krang’s robot minions, he only shows up toward the end of the game during the wall-crawling stages to crawl at you along the walls. You’d think a Ninja Turtles game would have used the climbable wall throughout the game, but you’d also expect them to make the Dam level playable by human beings. The NES TMNT game knows what its about, however, so neither one of those things happened.
Dimension X Trooper: Ok, Krang can be sensible! We have what is either a robot or a human in armor, decked out with a jetpack and a laser gun. He uses both at the same time, flying and shooting, and compared to some of his coworkers (I’m looking at you, Boomerang Bouncer) he’s an overachiever, if a little simply designed. He shows up in later stages as a general foe and a low-power miniboss.
Gunbot: He walks, he shoots, he’s like ED209, ET and Robocop had a baby. He’s not thrilling, but at least he mostly makes sense. He walks and shoots, doing the minimum required to get paid as a low-level video game flunky. This is why you’re never going to get promoted, Gunbot.
Whirly N.E.R.D. (Negligibly Effective Robot Drone): They take the place of Sky Prawns in later enemy sets. Essentially a robot scorpion with a helicopter blade attached to its tail in place of a stinger, removing the whole reason one would design a robot to look like a scorpion. If it is a robot, that is. TMNT for the NES doesn’t like you being able to tell the robots from the bugs, but this guy leans a bit more mechanical to my eye.
Dragon Knight: From this point on “mostly making sense” is not in the cards. This towering, probably robotic, warrior breathes fire and walks back and forth, which seems normal enough for a video game, unless you kill him by hitting his body. If you do that, his head will fly off, using the ears on the helmet as wings, and rush back and forth at high speed. I don’t know what raises more questions, him possibly being a robot designed to do this, or him being literally anything else.
Man-O-Bubbles: Ever since Metroid, flying jellyfish have been no surprise in video games. What is a surprise is when they explode into painful bubbles. Not when you kill them, just at random. While this could be a mutant, it seems more like something Krang would have smuggled in from Dimension X.
Kangosaurus-Bot V.4: Ok, so we’ve got a vaguely-Hadrosaurid robot dinosaur or possibly a kangaroo. With no arms. Who fights by jumping around and attacking with its tail. This is obviously one of Krang’s, but what is the goal here? Is this a robot version of some Dimension-X native animal? Is Krang really into Dougal Dixon? Were the comical arms with boxing gloves not ready by the time the Turtles breach the Technodrome? NES TMNT, give me your secrets!
Rock-Roc: This thing is either a hawk that has been trained to drop boulders larger than itself on talking humanoid turtles, or ti is a ROBOT hawk DESIGNED to drop boulders larger than itself on talking humanoid turtles. And its probably the latter, because it doesn’t show up until around the same time the Technodrome does.
Spidrobyte-Men: We’re taken a triolobyte, a spider, and a person and combined them via the power of the ooze and we get these things. They slide up and down on web-lines from their asses, occasionally spitting bubbles that hurt. I’m betting because of digestive acid. Then again, I can’t even understand this things physiology, and it could just as equally be a mechanical claw on a tow-line that spits painful bubbles and hang out in caves.
Pill Thug: Ok, this guy is my favorite, so I saved him for last. He’s a pill bug/rolly polly, mutated into a sort of pint-sized Megalon with a dancer’s physique, who either has a really big chin or hings his head open at the mid-section to spit pink tadpoles at our heroes. When not on the attack he rolls around in a ball. Everything about this guy is wacky and fun, and with a little more color and a splash of job-related theme, he could be a serviceable mutant foe for the Turtles in the larger franchise.
I think I hit everything, minus some of the over-world Foot Vehicles and some basic wall turrets and things, but I have may have missed a few while playing to get screencaps, what with the cursing and all. Even cheating there’s enough one-hit kills to keep things challenging.
EDIT: I missed two dudes!
The Goo Crew: This melty-looking dude who might be a foot soldier splits into tinier guys when you hit them, and those tinier guys turn into two even smaller guys when hit. I’ve decided he’s a slime creature that splits when hit, and all of his few in-game appearances are subdivisions of a larger whole. Maybe he’s a human foot soldier mutated with a slime mold.
I missed him the first time through because he’s rare and the places where you do find him he can disappear off the screen edge easily, only to be replaced by one of those shifty unemployed toads when you come back to the area.
Spiny Anthony: I know most people think he’s a porcupine, but his down-turned snoot says “echidna.” He jumps around in your personal space while occasionally shooting spikes out of his back like porcupines, hedgehogs and echidna’s all don’t. Like the other newly-minted mutants from this game, he doesn’t get clothes, so its hard to tell if he’s supposed to be a fully sapient mutanimal or just a beast, but I lean toward character whenever possible, so Spiny Anthony the Spiny Anteater is on the scene.
Spiny Anthony and Big FleaKid are already teaming up to pull some scams on the tourists

The world takes note of Trump's 'failure of character'
World Global Network Review – Should You Join?
So during the last couple of months, there is been an organization it really is been popping up anywhere on Social Media. The employer is referred to as World Global Network. Now if you’re analyzing this, you are likely seeking out records earlier than turning into a distributor. If that is the case, look no similarly because, on this WGN Review, I’m going to cowl the vital information you will need earlier than joining. I’ll move into the employer and product but most of all I’ll dive into the actual business opportunity. Now earlier than intending, I need to disclose that I’m no longer a WGN distributor nor am I affiliated with them in any manner. In reality, it without a doubt would not remember to me whether or not you be a part of or no longer. This is critical to understand because you are now not going to get a biased perspective from me. You’re going to get an actually unbiased World Global Network Review.
So first matters first, allow’s pass into the enterprize. Founded in 2011, WGN has been developing through leaps and bounds in markets outdoor of North America. From the facts I’ve seen, evidently, Asia might be the most powerful market for the employer. With that said, the agency recently released inside the US. The business enterprize has 15 places of work global and operates in over 195 countries so there’s simply an international opportunity must you make a decision to come to be a distributor. The agency sells wearable era through a Network Marketing business model. The wearable technology is called HELO and it’s like Fitbit on steroids. It video display units steps like Fitbit but it also video display units blood pressure, heart fee, ECG/EKG, breath price, emotions, fatigue, sleep satisfactory and greater. As a parent, I changed into most impressed with the SOS feature that lets in one to hit a panic button on their HELO with a view to notifying your family which you’re in trouble and ship out your modern-day GPS function. Imagine your children carrying their HELO and being one button far from letting they want help. That’s quite cool! Another cool function is Remote Monitoring which lets you see important signs of your loved ones that are carrying the technology. Overall, wearable generation appears to be choosing up traction so joining a business that lets in you to get in front of this worldwide trend is probably an excellent idea.
Now allow’s dive into the WGN reimbursement plan. There are definitely several methods to make money however for simplicity I’ll pass into the 4 predominant approaches that caught out to me once I reviewed the statistics. The first way is the Fast Sales Bonus wherein you may earn a ten% commission on products you sell. The second manner is Binary Commissions in which you can earn as much as 21% to your lesser volume leg. If you’re now not acquainted with Binary Compensation Plans, you have to construct a right crew and a left group. Each week the enterprize calculates the extent on each your groups and pays you commissions on your lesser volume leg. Make sure you assessment the reliable reimbursement plan record so that you see what ranks you need to hit to earn higher probabilities on Binary Commissions. For example, you have to be at the best rank to earn 20%. The 0.33 way is Check Match. Based on your rank, you may earn between 1% and 10% Check Match on the Binary Commissions of distributors you have got in your first 10 stages. If you are a sturdy recruiter and builder, a big portion of your income can doubtlessly come from Check Match. The fourth way I want to cover is the Millionaire Pool. When you hit President Millionaire you may earn up to at least one% on this pool. There are numerous different bonuses which might be on the desk inclusive of Car Bonus, Diamond Tour Bonus, and Luxury Bonus. Make sure you assessment the reimbursement plan to get a complete know-how if you’re serious approximately joining.
Should you get started out in World Global Network? Well… It is clearly up to you. It genuinely looks like they’re coming into a section of momentum and they’re attracting strong leaders. Wearable technology is the wave of the future and the repayment plan could be very rewarding. Just ensure you look for a great sponsor that has the capability and time to provide you the training and guide you need. With all that stated, the one’s things I referred to may have little effect on your actual achievement as a distributor. Sure it allows having a credible agency, superb product and strong reimbursement plan. But the reality is your fulfillment will depend closely on your ability to generate leads for your business. If you have got a constant drift of fresh leads, you’ll have the capacity to sponsor new reps into your group continued through the years. This is why I endorse Attraction Marketing. If you may emblem your self online and get leads online, and also you follow a robust demonstrated commercial enterprize device, there’s no telling how wealthy your business may be.
world Big History and Donald Trump Changes
Before the ultimate-minute intervention of the FBI director in October 2016, Donald Trump’s presidential marketing campaign seemed to be unraveling. Most Republicans had been frustrated because they felt he went into the election with a prevailing hand based on a name for trade. “This election is all about alternate,” is what we heard from “Establishment Republicans” and Trump surrogates. With Trump’s surprizing victory got her enthusiasm by way of all kinds of Republicans for coming near alternate.
When not sabotaging his campaign by way of showing private flaws, Trump rattled off numerous adjustments had to undo the Obama administration in a home and overseas coverage. Establishment Republicans embraced the anti-Obama adjustments as outstanding strides ahead that might quickly enhance the American financial system.
When this election is viewed in historical attitude, we see that Trump’s message changed into basically anti-alternate. His adjustments try and opposite impossible to resist demographic, economic, and international forces. His candidacy represents many years of Republican efforts to avoid embracing sizeable modifications resulting from ancient forces unleashed by the combination of industrialization, unrestrained capitalism, and technological know-how. But Republicans aren’t the best ones chafing from the effect of those modifications which experience overwhelming to lots of the world, now not simply our united states.
To benefit attitude in this current electoral victory, we want to observe Republican electoral approach in the twentieth century and at a miles larger image won by using the usage of something known as Big History. Promising to show back the clock after an era of reform is an “attempted and true” Republican components that worked once more.
The topic of “Make America Great Again” is a rehash of the successful Republican approach within the 1920 election. Beginning with the presidency of Theodore Roosevelt, America killed many years of reforms driven by way of the Progressive movement. Roosevelt failed to turn the Republican Party into the birthday party of Progressivism, losing out to business and economic forces that keep dominating the birthday celebration nowadays. Democrats beneath Woodrow Wilson have become the leaders of Progressive reform, ensuring in constitutional amendments prohibiting a sale of alcohol and the countrywide vote for girls. During World War I the financial system turned into managed for the primary time, ensuing in prosperity throughout the war despite Republican resistance. With the quiet of the war, Republicans and the general public demanded a hasty go back to business as traditional, forcing too speedy a transition from a law and bringing about a recession that becomes exploited in the election of 1920.
The Republican name for a return to “Normalcy” intended turning away from reforms putting greater authority within the hands of the federal government and closer to conventional laissez faire guidelines helping unrestrained capitalism. The boom of a great deal of the 20s obscured the financial calamity persevered by means of farmers who were unnoticed until the crash of 1929 brought in Democrats involved approximately farmers and hard work as well as commercial enterprize. Returning to “Normalcy” meant tax cuts to the enterprise that spurred dramatic growth at the side of financial hypothesis as little effort become made to regulate growing excesses on Wall Street. IRS figures imply that the 20s had been a length of growing awareness of wealth in the hands of a minuscule percent of the population.
My first point, then, is that “Make America Great Again” is a rehash of returning to “Normalcy” – which means that tax cuts to commercial enterprize and pulling again on regulatory efforts that would prevent some other 1929 or 2007. It approach persisted awareness of wealth in a small percent of the populace. It also approaches pulling again on essential social, economic, and political reforms as the rejection of “political correctness.”
My 2nd factor is that seeing Trump from the vantage point of Big History well-known show even deeper reason for failure.
What is “Big History?” It is a new approach to world records that embraces more than one science and liberal arts disciplines to gain the angle on history for the reason that Big Bang. Study of the evolution of the universe as a part of the human tale includes the starting place of existence on our planet, and evolution of our species, and the dramatic evolution of the human way of life from societies primarily based on agriculture to present day commercial-capitalist societies.
Big History covers billions of years and loads of data no longer generally protected in histories. But it additionally brings an angle this is especially wished in our time. The first textbook on Big History tells the tale in phrases of accomplishing and surpassing 8 thresholds. Each threshold brings progress as a brand new level of complexity and opportunity is reached. With the accomplishment of each also comes expanded vulnerability and fragility as a better degree of hazard comes with each increase in complexity.
The latest threshold has been the transition of human cultures from societies based totally on agriculture to business-capitalist societies. Important adjustments have blanketed expanded populace growth, depletion of non-renewable assets important to industrial-capitalism, improvement of nuclear capability for weapons and generating energy, and communication and transportation technology that more and more combine the area economically. Side-consequences include greater worldwide epidemics and use of the net as a device for struggle and destabilizing misinformation in addition to a social and financial integrator.
Two huge issues stand out which can be resisted by way of Trump and his supporters. First is the want to begin ameliorating and, if feasible, reversing human harm to our planet. Business forces have to regularly support Republican efforts to disclaim international warming and different weather problems which might be already threatening countrywide protection of all international locations.
The 2nd difficulty highlighted through Big History is the impact of increasing alternate. Since the start of the Industrial Revolution within the 1700s, innovations have happened at an increasing fee. Innovation may be top for enterprize, but it necessitates unrelenting social, financial, and political modifications. Birth manage pills, television, transportable computer systems, the internet, smart telephones, and pills have all revolutionized our economic system within the recent beyond. These particularly appealing improvements have challenged conventional social values and considerably modified daily environments we experience at work and in our houses. Furthermore, this radical revel in of trade is accelerating. There has been no letting as much as allow us to take in one wave of modern revolution earlier than some other hits us. The call for from Wall Street that corporations like Apple maintain to invent modern merchandize is developing more potent because the rate of alternate keeps to boost up.
Donald Trump appears to represent the business forces calling for greater alternate, however, that isn’t the coronary heart of his message. Trump’s call to opposite the Obama management and his personal instance of dismissing political correctness has brought to the forefront discontented fringe elements in our society who reject fundamental modifications in social norms. These forces constitute opposition to the lack of white male dominance. Increased rights and prominence of girls, African-Americans, disabled people, LGBT companies, Latinos, and Muslims are civil rights profits that are not commonplace by using companies who want to go back to the “Normalcy” of the 1950s and in advance. The violence in their rhetoric and behavior mirror the anxiety of maximum Americans over the pace and extent of exchange that maintains shaking up social norms. Attacking political correctness shows tension over the vocabulary modifications that maintain coming as we’re informed to use certain words as opposed to our typical terminology to preserve from offending corporations. Our standard conduct is continuously challenged with the aid of new and sudden social companies stressful recognition and recognize.
The more Republicans act to make industrial-capitalism more effective with the aid of removing “unnecessary rules,” the greater exchange will keep to boost up. That means degradation of our planet that could quickly be irreversible. That means faster implementation of innovations with tremendous results on social norms that preserve a society collectively. It way that subsequently we are possible to reach a factor at which human potential for exchange is saturated with disastrous outcomes that are tough to expect. Many scholars assume that societal collapse is the maximum in all likelihood final results – and an M.I.T. A computer model has predicted it will probably show up via round 2050 if no longer before.
Political campaigns that unleash hostilities closer to these fast social modifications are getting a threat to our democracy and our charter. As Donald Trump keeps to “be Donald Trump,” he’s galvanizing resistance to social alternate whilst he’s taking actions to similarly boost up trade. As the tempo of change continues to boost up, we are able to assume different Trump-like figures to come to be the voice of worry and anxiety.
Let’s hope someone emerges who can deal with impossible to resist adjustments in approaches that assuage public fear and anxiety – and that we’ve individuals of Congress who gets at the back of this method in place of keep to present priority to the interest of their political birthday party.
