i’m so excited to get back into writing my jongyu cult fic
it’s been on pause as i finish up love is so nice
and it’s been eating at my brain again
it’s such a huge project already that i’m slightly terrified
but stuffing 10 years of religious deconstruction into one fic apparently takes a lot of words.  who knew? lol

hey psa for newer fanfic lovers!! :) got this comment on a fic today:
Tumblr media
i updated this fic in november, around 8-9 months ago. which probably feels like an enormous amount of time, but isn't unreasonable for a fic. sometimes they don't get updated for years, but they do still get updated. i know of a fic that wasn't updated for over fifteen years, and then the author came and took the like 50k they'd written, edited it, and wrote a 300k+ fic in the span of like six months.
This fic is not abandoned and it feels a little bit frustrating to me that rather than wait, this person - who I love that they love the idea so much they want to continue it themselves, to be clear. that's really nice to know, but - this person wanted to just take over the fic for me. I do have a life outside of fics. and outside of that, I'm very mentally ill. I completely understand the instinct to want more of the story, but part of the culture of fics is that sometimes you've just gotta wait. it sucks. It's not enjoyable. But that's just the nature of how fics work. And to make this clear:
95% of authors will let you know if the fic is discontinued.
until that point, encouragement, support, and reassurance that you're still there waiting for the next update is always welcomed. A detailed analysis of why you love the fic will probably get you an update within 3 months, or at least the reassurance of knowing that the author knows how much the fic means to you.
Please don't offer to take over the fic unless the story has been explicitly stated to be discontinued, no matter how much you love it. I understand the instinct, i promise, but all this did was make me extraordinarily anxious. I've responded to the comment and made it clear that they don't have my permission to continue the fic, but part of me is like. do i have to give an update this week to prove that it's not abandoned and they don't disregard what I said and take over the story for me? Do i have the energy and mental space TO write an update that quickly? Am I going to be able to finish this fic or will be stolen out of my hands because I didn't write fast enough? Do I have the right to say that I want to work on it if I'm not updating quickly? What if they still ignore me saying no and then they start working on their own version before getting pissed with me for continuing?
It's made it a lot more convoluted for me than it needed to be. So just. Just wait. Please. Thanks.

๋࣭⭑ Devlog #38 | 2.27.24 ๋࣭⭑
Tumblr media
How is it already almost March omfg.
Anyways Happy Valentine's Day month!!! This year, I was swamped with work, so I didn't get a chance to make Valentine's Day art. I did make a Valentine's piece last year though.
BUT we did have beloved @magunalafay make these Valentine's Day cards this year for the community!!! <3 If you missed it, well Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!
Tumblr media
She made these as a gift, and I love her very much. Maguna u r so talented
This month was pretty busy for me, but I'm super happy with the progress made this month ^^ I feel like I've started the year off in a pretty good groove after it being all over the place for a hot second, yay!!!
Tumblr media
This past month, Etza and Druk's routes. With the revamped demo finishing its revisions, it left a lot more time for me to focus writing on full route development.
If you missed the announcement, I FINISHED Etza's first draft!!! YAAAYYY!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!
Tumblr media
That means 4/6 routes are finished in terms of the base writing, which is so exciting to MEEEEE. I've always seen Etza's draft as The Milestone because with their route finished, it would mean the four Central routes are done writing. And to me, while there's a good chuck of writing left, we are nearing the end of it.
There's only two routes left and that means it's about ~100k words which is CRAZY compared to when I had ~300k to write (:cries:). Even if that sounds like a lot, once I start chipping away at those routes, that 100k goes into the "double digits" aka 90k...80k... etc. and that makes me want to pee my pants
We also finished editing Druk's route, yay!!! So we reached a lot of milestones this month ^^
Tumblr media
We are nearing the end of the Vui background commissions. It's very bittersweet; I'm so used to mentioning him in my devlogs now </3 There's only like 3(?) more BGs left for him to make, and then all of the BGs for the game will be finished. Very Wild! I think Alaris will have 25ish BGs, and they are all Stunning.
It's been a while since I showed you all a BG, so I'll give you all a preview of one I just got in!
Tumblr media
Isn't it cozy? Guess whose house hehe
I personally have been doing a lot of sprite work this month to finish the final art assets for the demo. I added some expressions to Druk and Aisa that I'd been procrastinating (I don't even know why I was procrastinating them). And I finally finished Mom and Kimura's updated sprites! Patreon already saw them, but I'll show the new versions here too ^^
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Preview of Mom (left) and Kimura (right) updated sprites. Now everyone's sprite styles are cohesive YAY!!
Aside from sprite work, much of my "art" time has been on finishing up/putting together the last of the screens for the GUI. Specifically, I got THIS BABY up and running. She is my crowning glory.
Memory Screen to Replay Unlocked Free Time Dates
Oh my god.... You all have NO IDEA how much of a pain this was to code. There is a transparency gradient going on in the left and right B&W previews (courtesy of community programming angel feniks/shawna).
And then the effort to have the Titles and Descriptions of the Previewed Date change tilted me on Multiple Occasions. But we finally got it to work thanks to bestie @siyo-koy pointing out I just coded one stupid "if" statement wrong LJAFSLIEFJIEJ. But the effort was WORTH IT because I'm so proud of her!!! I hope you all like it too as a way to relive Free Time Dates. I had a lot of fun with the Titles and descriptions.
I also put together the Stats and Affection Screens
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Preview of Personality Stats & Affection Screens
So I coded both of them a bit differently from each other. The Personality Screen shows you a breakdown of your traits so far. Think of it like a pie graph! So in the preview picture, your choices indicate you are 33% Brave, 16% Charismatic, etc. I felt like this was a more natural way to portray personality rather than how many bravery points you've collected so far!
And then for Affection, it works in a more traditional way, where it counts it based on how many you've gotten out of the total amount you can get. This way, as the story progresses, how close you are to the person reflects how much your relationship as developed!
I've also added little descriptions underneath each that change depending on the percentage. So for example, if you have gotten 82% of the affection points for Kuna'a, the description of your relationship might change as well hehe
Tumblr media
Other than that, I've mainly focused on getting the demo together. We released the beta demo earlier this month (? LOL). And the feedback has been so kind!!
A lot of this month was spent polishing so that the demo can be ready for early access and eventually public release. I updated sprites, made sure music crossfades with each other so that transitions between soundtracks feel smoother, I added/polished all of the screens I needed to (e.g., Memory Room, Full Credits, Cleaning Music Room, Adding Stats Screens), and I FINALLY as of yesterday added the Voiced Lines!!
One thing I added in the Extended Demo that I'm really happy with is the use of Extended Pronouns (courtesy of Angel Feniks). Below is a preview of how it works now!
Tumblr media
Preview of Extended Pronouns Function. Credit to Feniks
Basically, you can choose multiple pronouns for yourself, including custom pronouns (e.g., xe/xem, fae/faer, etc.). On top of that, you can choose how often you'd like the pronouns to alternate (e.g., every line versus every scene) and what kind of terms you'd like to be used for you (e.g., neutral vs. masculine vs. feminine)!
Overall, the demo is getting closer and closer to release!!! Early Access will hopefully be ready by the end of this week or next, so if you all would like access to it, please feel free to subscribe to my Patreon for this upcoming month! Available to Wyvern tier ($5) and up.
Tumblr media
I didn't have any time to really play any games this month because I was drowning in work LMFAOSLJIEF. I did play the Threads of Bay demo by @lavendeerstudios and it was GORGEOUS! Very cute game with lovable characters and charming visuals. Andrew, I will have your number
Every other section was really long, so I'm going to throw it here even though it's not market research. But Intertwine recently hit 600 ratings, which is crazy. Thank you for still enjoying that game even if it's not one that is my main focus anymore. I'm really happy people still like it :on the verge of tears:
Anyways, this has been a long devlog. Here's to continuing to Ball in March. Hope you all have a great rest of your month, and I'll talk to you soon! <3

Hiiii Yara!!!!
I have changed accounts bc I forgot my password, but I was Flan-Girl304! I have been commenting in ur fics for years now lol, except in the last couple of updates, bc, yk, lost my password.
Anyways, I was rereading Accidental Reverse, as one does, and now I really want to know your opinion on the relationship between Sengoku and Tenma, because I love the idea of Sengoku being so protective and caring of the rest of the team and noticing Tenmas problems/struggles early on.
He really is like a pilar of peace between all the chaos of raimon, isn't he? (Most of the time)
Also, completely unrelated, but I just realized how long it has been since Accidental Reverse started, I was still in school. Now I'm on my last year in pyschology. And now knowing the struggles of university, I absolutely understand ur updating schedule, I haven't updated my own fics in ageeeees. But I'm still hyped for whatever you decide to post in the future!
Anyways, hope you're doing well!!!
WHOAAA I CAN’T BELIEVE IT, it’s been so long!!! Hi!!! How have you been??
I'm good, just super tired! University's been pretty demanding and I ended up pulling an all-nighter last night to almost completely finish my thesis, so I am going to bed very very soon.
‘’rereading, as one does’’ you know it’s almost 300K, right
Aww Sangoku, yes we love him. He’s great. He’s the best, hands down. He’s the voice of reason, the eye of the storm; he fades into the background when compared to other members on the team, both in terms of personality and appearance (...pink hair, anyone?)
I headcanon that Sangoku is the eldest on the team and that makes him feel responsible for his teammates. We know from the anime he’s already a very caring and responsible person, as shown by his interactions with his mother; she works late often, so he is in charge of groceries and cooking and other chores. He was canonically captain before Shindou and never really got rid of some habits from that time.
Which means that, just like Shindou, Sangoku understands Tenma's struggles as captain and tries to support him as much as possible; he did the same thing when Shindou was made captain after him, although of course the specifics are different because Tenma and Shindou are different. Sangoku doesn't really interfere with the leadership part; he's not one of the loudest voices on the team, and he doesn't want to be. He can leave the decision making to Shindou, Kirino, Tenma, Tsurugi, all the more outspoken members, all more qualified and talented than him - that’s what he thinks.
Instead he tries to help in more subtle ways: by caring.
(This doesn’t just apply to Tenma, of course. Sangoku keeps an eye on the whole team - literally and figuratively. He’s the keeper, he’s always in the back, always in position to keep watch over his teammates during a match, and that doesn’t end when the match does.)
He keeps an eye on Tenma whenever he can. Does he look tired? Upset? Ill? If Sangoku notices this, depending on the severity, there's a few different things he might do. If it's not that bad, he'll usually cue in the other first-years and let them drag Tenma along to hang out and unwind for a bit. The quickest way to get Tenma to forget about his worries for a bit is to let him spend time with his yearmates and act his age. They're a chaotic bunch and there's no room for worry or stress there.
If it's worse, Sangoku might interfere more directly. If it's more of an internal problem in the team, Sangoku can and will tell the others to lay off (Shindou means well, but sometimes he gets carried away). The rest of the team listens to him, and this is a rare enough event that the few times he's had to do it, it's been very effective.
If it's an external problem, Sangoku can't honestly do much. In those cases the whole team is stressed and trying to support each other, and as much as he wishes he could, Sangoku can't just go up to their opponents and tell them to knock it off. Instead, he'll ensure (by teaming up with the managers) that there's enough snacks and drinks present for everyone, and try to keep them all calm and rational.
Sometimes, when Tenma is being especially stubborn, Sangoku will outright scold him and tell him to go home, go to bed, take a break. Tenma definitely doesn't like this, but he respects Sangoku too much to deny him.
It's even happened a few times that someone else on the team cued in Sangoku. They know Tenma will listen to him, even when he's being stubborn, and they're not afraid to misuse it.
And always Sangoku is just ready with a listening ear, an offer to help, little check-ins, even when nothing bad is happening and Tenma is just busy or mildly stressed.
Like I said, Sangoku does this with most of the team, but he's more aware of Tenma. This, again, stems from having been captain himself. Early on, when Tenma became captain, Sangoku worried and tried to make sure the kid was doing alright, and that just stuck. Even years later after Tenma has proven himself more than capable, it's an old instinct that Sangoku can't get rid of.
And Tenma doesn’t really… know? Sure, after being captain for so long, he knows the dynamics of his team. How Sangoku is the voice of reason - no, rather, how he’s the calm inside the storm, the one who worries quietly and cares for them all and has taken the responsibility to watch over them through their craziest adventures and laziest days. He knows, by logical reasoning and several late night instances where Sangoku was the one to check up on him and tell him to get some rest, that Sangoku does it for him too and he appreciates that more than he could ever say. He just doesn’t notice that Sangoku is a little more keyed into his well being specifically - probably the only one who does is Shindou, and that’s because Shindou is the exact same way, for the exact same reason (they both agreed to make yet another first-year captain, when they know the burden of it; they refuse to let him drown under the pressure).
So Tenma hasn’t noticed, is not as close with Sangoku as some of their other teammates, and Sangoku honestly doesn’t mind. Truth be told, after so much time he barely notices it himself, it’s just become a habit.
Their relationship is interesting because they don't really hang out outside of the team - sure, if the team will go out together, they'll both join if they can, but they don't usually meet up with just the two of them. They’re both closer with other people on the team. Their relationship originated as simply senpai and kouhai - Sangoku feeling a sense of responsibility towards a younger teammate, Tenma looking up and listening to an older teammate. And yet it’s grown so much from what it was. Tenma knows Sangoku's door is always open and he can always count him. Sangoku respects Tenma as his captain, and cares for him as a friend rather than a kouhai.
Funnily enough, they’ve got a bit of a similar opinion on taking care of the rest of the team. Perhaps Tenma has been unconsciously imitating Sangoku’s behavior in the way he cares for them, and even handles them when they’re acting rash. It actually makes Sangoku his biggest ally in getting the team to behave! As we see in Accidental Reverse, Tenma is fully capable of being the craziest on the team, but in his actual timeline where he's captain, he's usually the semi-responsible one, if you'll believe it (in his defense, if something happens, he's the one who has to deal with the paperwork). And Sangoku is most often the voice of reason on the team, so he will fully support Tenma when they're trying to get the team to NOT do anything stupid for once.
So yeah. In summary, this is a relationship that was at the start nothing more than regular senpai and kouhai, and funnily enough never changed much in their roles - but the sentiment behind it? That has become much more genuine. Sangoku doesn’t look out for Tenma and feel responsible because that’s what is expected of him, but because it’s Tenma. And Tenma doesn’t respect and listen to Sangoku because he’s older, but because Sangoku has time and time proven that there are few people Tenma truly appreciates and admires more.
So! I hope you enjoyed that. Oh, don’t mention how long I’ve been working on AR, I know exactly how you feel. I uploaded the preview for it on my sixteenth birthday. In less than three weeks I’ll be celebrating my twenty-third.
I am still planning to continue though, I just need to deal with stubborn characters who don’t want to be written, tss.
It was really great hearing from you again!

Oomf I'm busy catching up on ur fic and you've done 265k words which is roughly 700 pgs if physically published. How does that make u feel?
anon... i think about this fact daily.
i own crime and punishment by fyodor dostoevsky. ive held that book in my hands. ive seen how big that book is. ive read like. a handful of pages.
let sleeping dogs lie is longer than that.
early on when writing i had a cute idea of learning how to book-bind to make myself a physical copy of it and now i cant do it. thats so long. i'd need to split it into two parts. or three. or by chapter.
ive been writing this fic for a year this month and i still can't believe durgetash of all things has made me write a book LONGER than crime and punishment.
it's a treat for you guys who want a long fic to settle into but i can't comprehend that this is something i've done (and i do really enjoy reading comments of people who binge read the fic in a few days. shoutout to my friend who said she was going to wait for me to finish the fic and then decided to read the fic in smth like 2 days?? 3 days?? youre insane for that)
i didnt plan for it to get so long!!! im incapable of writing a short and sweet story!! it blows my mind every time i see the word count grow!! i edit! i cut things out! there's scenes that had to be scrapped because i said to myself "this is getting too long" it makes me go aaaaaaaaaa!!
it's looking like we may hit just under 300k words when it's properly finished. i need to go bury myself under some dirt for a year
also in the early days i was writing 10k words A WEEK!!! i had a weekly-ish upload schedule!!!!! what's wrong with me!!!! now im taking my time to make sure i dont burn out but oh my god. past me you are mad.
thank you anyone who's ever looked at my fic on the ao3 tag for durgetash and has gone "wow. that author is out of their mind" because you are RIGHT!
and also big thank you to anyone who's reading or is caught up with the fic. i owe you my life actually. its a labour of love and the fact that anyone went "lets read a book" means the world to me <3<3

20 Questions for Fic Writers Game
tagged by the wonderful @autisticempathydaemon (chrissy my beloved <33 also you HAVE to let me know if you start writing for castleaudios >:3)
tagging - you, reading this!! also (no pressure!): @dominimoonbeam @glassbearclock @taelonsamada @romirola @lovelylonerliterature @genginger @ninzied @evilbunnyking @nerdierholler @commander-krios @chroniclesinlacuna @kesla @mordinette @garglyswoof @nagia-pronounced-neijia
1 - How many works do you have on AO3?
oh god, 128! but this is an underestimate, because i've anon'd some older fics/fandoms hehehe. i've been 'round ao3 since 2012!
2 - What's your total AO3 word count?
498,649... now this is actually accurate. 300k of that is from 2020 until now. basically the pandemic got me on a writing kick.
3 - What fandoms do you write for?
SO MANY. 19 according to ao3, but right now? baldurs gate & redacted audios >:3 there is another halsin fic in the works...
4 - What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
oh god. okay. you'll get some older fics here: 1. got me on my best (bad) behaviour 2. Call me scent o' mental, but I'm crazy about you (teen wolf....) 3. all bark, no bite 4. devils and ghosts (frank castle / karen page!! love this one heh) 5. sweeter than honey (ofc halsin makes it ahaha)
5 - Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
YES. there are only a few exceptions, when I've written something that touches close to home / a sensitive topic.
6 - What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
hmm...bittersweet endings were my wheelhouse for a long time. OKAY. let's do this one: too little, too late. caroline forbes and klaus mikaelson, set at the end of the originals. yeah.
7 -What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
....nowadays, I mostly write happier endings sadhfjk lets go with: bioluminescence, which follows on from the events of blood moon (@/barbwrites) and takes marco on a roadtrip to see luminescent algae up close and personal. (it's a loveletter to a summer I spent in california during a really difficult period of my life, and this fic means a lot to me <3)
8 - Do you get hate on fics?
I've not gotten hate, but I've definitely had some interesting comments over the years, for a variety of reasons, usually to do with the person's personal views. (one story had the main character smoking pot to calm their anxiety, and someone was not happy with that)
9 - Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
YEP. Smut with feelings is my FAVOURITE thing. I prefer sensual descriptions, because it is all about feelings and sensations with me. as an ace writer, I also like kink and monster fuckery heheheh.
10 - Do you write crossovers?
Not at all ahahahaha. Have I ever written a crossover? I don't think so. I love AUs though, and pacific rim AUs are one of my favourite concepts in fandom.
11 - Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes, and it was teen wolf, and honestly not one of my best. it was a hatchet job, they took random paragraphs and spliced it / wrote around it? someone flagged it to me in a comment, and it was taken down. all in all, a very weird experience.
12 - Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but gosh, that'd be cool! <- stealing from lexi, agreed, would be awesome <3
13 - Have you ever co-written a fic before?
YES. It was FUN. It was a series of conversations between an estranged father and son, Colm and Milo Greer, with the incredibly talented @frenchiefitzhere (also tagging you for this meme!!). it's still one of my favourite things: An Honest Man Like Yourself
14 - What's your all time favorite ship?
ALL TIME FAVOURITE? How dare you. I love all my ships afjkdsfg Shakarian is pretty high up there. Kastle (karen page/ frank castle). All the werewolves from redacted. <3
15 - What's a WIP that you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
ahhhh. okay. 'wander. wonder.' my poly longfic. don't hate me, but honestly, I've just not got the space for a longfic at the moment. never say never, but I've caught up with the chapters I had worked up, everything else is a vague outline. <3
16 - What are your writing strengths?
oof. I want to say character. most of the fun for me when writing is getting inside a characters head and figuring out their voice >:3
17 - What are your writing weaknesses?
Structuring longer, multi-chaptered stories - basically figuring out the pacing of it. I'm working on an original project, and I love it, but the first series of major edits will be breaking up my alternating POV sections into proper chapter breaks and letting myself linger more in moments instead of pushing forward (habits of a oneshot writer fdsds)
18 - Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I've been meaning to have my estonian friend critique my estonian, but I'm pretty positive the 'bond' I referred to is actually the money kind, and not the emotional attachment I'd been hoping to refer to hfjdkssfdg. I do as much research as I can, but it's best to run it past someone who speaks the language!
19 - First fandom you wrote for?
hehehehe naruto. yep. I was a naruto kid. first posted online in 2007......
20 - Favorite fic you've written?
WHAT A QUESTION. honestly, I love what I have been writing the last three years. I've really let myself just write what I want to read, and it's been great. i'm going to cheat, and say the original project I'm working on that I won't let anyone see heheheh. <3 it's got werewolves, kink and explicit consent, and spun out a whole verse for me to play with (and a fun MMF sidestory that I also need to finish...)
gods this got LONG. Thank you for making it this far!! <3

20 Questions for Fic Writers
@gardensofthemoon thank you so much for the tag! It was super interesting reading your responses :D <3
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 51
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 465,678
3. What fandoms do you write for? Bold to assume I write at all I've always mainly just written for the Silm BUT I have recently become obsessed with The Locked Tomb series so miiiiiiight do some writing in that universe. At some point. Maybe.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Yield to the Moment takes the cake here, which is not surprising given that it's a 300k Angbang modern AU slowburn beast of a fic.
Then we've got Strange New World, set in my Swords 'verse, which takes a look at Melkor and Mairon post-Dagor Dagorath through a mental health-y and relationship/character study lens.
Third up is A bond once called fealty, also in the Swords 'verse.
Then there's The Metal Cage, which is shameless Angbang PWP focused on chastity play.
And finally A quiet sort of introspection, also part of the Swords 'verse, a bit experimental in the sense of taking Melkor's POV in second person.
5. Do you respond to comments? Always! I feel it's only fair if someone's taken the time to share their thoughts with me. Plus it's often such a fun, creative space where you get to bounce around ideas with the commenter.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Not entirely sure, actually. Don't think I tend to write particularly angsty endings. No Other Choice, maybe? It's about the Fëanorian attack on the Havens and the choice Elwing makes when she jumps into the sea.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Probably YTTM. I'm pretty pleased with the ending actually; feels like it pulls together a bunch of narrative threads and highlights all the amazing growth the characters have done. Also, it's a wedding at the end of a very long, very bumpy slowburn.
8. Do you get hate on fics? I have, yeah, years and years ago, around an abusive take on Angbang; but generally I find that the Silm fandom is very lovely and very welcoming.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I do! Quite a lot of it haha. I think, for me, the appeal isn't so much the physical act in and of itself, but what's going on for the characters behind the scenes as it were, emotionally/psychologically. Especially with a ship like Angbang where they spectacularly fail at talking to each other so a lot of juicy unspoken stuff gets acted out through physical intimacy.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Nope, never written a crossover, nor do they hold much appeal for me personally.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? I have. Sadly those fics had been written around 2015-16 and I deleted them a few years back at a time when my mental health was... spicy. I couldn't say whether the translations are still out there somewhere.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yep! YTTM started out as a co-write.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship? Angbang. There's just a lot of layers to their dynamic that scratch an itch in my brain. Power imbalance. Fucked-up-ness. Possessiveness/protectiveness. Worship. Loyalty.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I've got a WIP from almost ten years ago about Celebrimbor in Gondolin and I'm not sure if the interest/time/motivation is still there for me to ever pick it up again :')
16. What are your writing strengths? Hmm I tend to put a fair amount of thought into characters' emotional experiences and I also enjoy playing around with fun ways to describe things.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I guess there's a flipside to focusing on emotional experiences in that sometimes I might humanise characters like the Ainur too much and lose some of their eldritchness. I also tend to be quite disorganised with my plotting, and by disorganised I mean that I just sit down and start writing without a plan or outline and sometimes I can end up scrambling to tie everything together and make it make sense and I'm not sure how effective that is. Also also, I don't find endings very easy to come up with.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? Sure, if done purposefully in a way that furthers the plot or tells me something about the characters.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Harry Potter, I think! Those fics are not on the internet anymore and that is probably for the best haha.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written? Ohhh see, I don't actually like my own writing very much (cheers, perfectionism) and I very very rarely re-read it. But I do think some bits in YTTM are fun, and my latest ficcy that I've written (Reason to Try) which is a ficcy of @tarmairons' ficcy kinda shifted something in my brain for the better and I revisit it sometimes on bad mental health days.
Let's see which lovely people to tag: @markedasinfernal, @elevenelvenswords, @undercat-overdog, @lvsifer, @foxindarkness and anyone else who sees this and would like to have a go (if you want to! zero pressure)

i tried to goad people into asking me the ao3 questions like five times this month so i'm just gonna treat myself and answer em
How many words have you written this year? 247, 190
How many works did you publish this year? four
What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)? nevermore! and not just for wordcount either, though maybe a little bit because i've spent so much time with it. i'm just extremely pleased with the world building i've done and the complexity and depth of the plot and how i've gotten so far into it and i don't feel like i've become wayward yet, which is what usually happens even before i reach this point. i'm so pleased. i'm so excited to reach 200k and see where i'm up to and what's ahead.
What work of yours has the most hits? linger, which is funny because just like the ghosts it was about it haunts me
What work of yours got more feedback than you expected? to go beyond your borders, considering it's hard to get readers to come to something that's nearly completely original and it's just my silly little mental health fic, the audience that it gathered in the short time i was actually updating it regularly was really surprising and i love them
Favorite title you used oh lyre lyre for sure, i went to great lengths to ensure that title made a modicum of sense for that fic
If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most? hahahahaha stray kids all day. nevermore is skz cinematic universe so of course every chapter title is a lyric
Pairing you wrote the most for this year? so much gen fic, so little time. original fiction pairings.
Favorite pairing you wrote for this year? HMMMMMMMMMMMM from my original fic, leo/nes. they're funny.
What work was the quickest to write? queenmaker is the quickest to write, takes like an hour per chapter if that. in terms of strictly ao3 fics, lyre lyre was the fever dream of a few days.
What work took you the longest to write? well i started nevermore on the 4th of march and as of the 29th it is disgustingly far from being finished at 140k so i just don't know if i can say anything else. nevermore doesn't actually take long to write though really, it's just that it's a 300k kind of project. relevant to word count though, the unpublished pirate fic is actually probably the thing that's taking the longest, and my original all that is good/holy.
How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year? not counting every single novel i have sitting around, it's around 15, but a very casual 15 because i just go with the vibe to the extreme and with no intention to really finish any of them except like two of em
What’s your longest work of the year? hehe nevermore at 139, 583
What’s your shortest work of the year? apart from the cheeky 3 sentence fic the other day, overwinter at 1278
What WIP are you taking into next year with you? nevermore
What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag? oh. Angst.
Your favorite character to write this year? hehehehe lee minho
The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year? Y/N for queenmaker
What’s one pairing you want to explore next year? more gen fic please, tired of romance. if i had to pick one, angie/raihan from to go beyond your borders
Which work of yours have you reread the most? to go beyond your borders, although i am about to start a full edit of nevermore which is uh no mean feat.
How many kudos in total did you get this year? 202
Which work has the most comments? nevermore by a mile
Did you do any collaborative works this year? you know what they all ditched me to collaborate on their own, and they didn't even post the fic. can you believe it.
Did you write any gifts this year? uhhhh yes, it isn't gifted on ao3 but lyre lyre was for rain and i believe overwinter was for zom mom? keeps? one of those two
Did you receive any gifts this year? yesssss i received neverwas from keeps for my birthday and it was really cool and if you read anything on this list honestly make it that one, it stands alone and it's really weird and vibey
What’s your most common category? Gen
What do you listen to while writing? liked songs or a specific fic playlist on spotify on repeat. usually kpop only these days but it depends what i'm working on.
Favorite work you wrote this year? nevermore
Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? oh my god. out of 240k? yeah no worries i'll just pull it up. um. uhhhh. uhhhhhhh.
Biggest surprise while writing this year? oh that i finished nanowrimo and that if i didn't work such a physically demanding job it would have been easy. if i had all my time spare in that month i would have done 80-100k, when before this year i couldn't get past 25k a month. realising i had that capability just sitting there was crazy.

a few facts:
i have finished outlining act three of castles
we are (in all probability - i'm leaving myself some obviously necessary leeway as things develop) going to 24 chapters. this is including chapter 15 which will be split into two (15+16) to get to an even number). this means i will have eight chapters to actually write, total. i might break the 300k mark with these but i'm not sure.
i plan to start writing the weekend of the 25th of March
just because i start writing, doesn't mean i start publishing. please be patient with me ❤️. these take around 50/60 hours to write, then about the same amount of time to edit. also i haven't written in two months, so i might be slower (rustier) at the start. also, i have a full time job which is currently getting busier. i have a life. i mostly only write at weekends. i will however try my best to keep you updated and of course, my ask box is always open if you have questions.
to be honest, i don't know if i will publish as i finish every chapter, or if i will post it all at the same time at the end. i might also post in chunks, like: four chapters at once, then again four chapters. it will depend on what i feel serves me, and also the story better. again, i'll keep you updated 😊.
my objective is still to finish by the 17th December 2023. that means writing potentially up to 100k in nine months. i really want to do this, and i feel very strongly about finishing this year, but i also don't want to burn out, so that might get re-evaluated as i go along.
i've decided to deprioritise other projects. this means that unless something happens, i doubt there will be much content coming out, aside from castles. roar and other stories i have in my drafts are very important to me and it doesn't mean i won't write them, but writing them on top of castles doesn't feel realistic for the coming year.
thank you for all of your support on this. the thought of finishing already makes me a bit emotional. but we'll get there ❤️

20 Questions (plus a bonus) for Fic Authors
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
24
2. What is your AO3 wordcount?
222,958
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently: Riverdale (and I have an ongoing Zack & Cody fic)
Past: Doctor Who, The Magicians, and Star Wars
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Haven't broken 100 kudos on a fic yet but I'm close!
I. My Dearest Korkie with 91
II. 6-2-4-8-4-6-3 with 75
III. Plums and Mugs with 70
IV. Casualty with 69
V. Kindness in Lies with 54
5. Do you respond to comments?
Every. Single. One. I love them. Fuck me up with questions about what you've just read. If it's not spoiler-y then I'm happy to explain. Hell, even if it might be a tad spoiler-y I still will lol.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oof... that would probably be a tie between We Had Fun (the main character just straight up kills people) or We Belong Together (where it seems like the couple doesn't actually end up together, but I promise they do!).
7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I love making people cry. I used to say "if you're not crying, I didn't do my job". But um... do WIPs count if I already know how they are going to end? lol
I'm going to say for finished I Only Have Eyes For You (This will make you cry) and The Magician Queen (this is a classic Holiday Hallmark Happy Ending)
For WIP (that is actually finished I'm just not posting all at once) The Suite Adult Life
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not yet. I welcome thoughtful critiques though!
9. Do you write smut? If so, which kind?
LMAO. By looking at my repertoire you would think the answer is "no". However, I literally wrote a collection of short stories just to write smut. It ended up more tame than expected and very romantic. BUT I do have some pretty explicit scenes in some stories.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest crossover you’ve ever written?
No. I've just not been inspired and I tend to stay away from reading crossovers.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No :(
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, but I've tried to get people to write with me.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
OMG that's like asking who my favorite child is? I mean that's just so unfair- it's Jeronica. Jughead/Veronica is my heart and soul. 80 years of sexual tension just can't be beat lol.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I hate to say it but... I don't have any. I think Not Another Riverdale Love Story (nicknamed Narwals) is the closest. But I know how it's going to end and I just posted chapter 7 and am currently working on chapter 10. OO! I know, it's pure porn. Just pr0n all day long. Rockin Around The Christmas Tree. I have two out of the four chapters posted. I have the last chapter 75% of the way finished. I just have to write smut for one pairing and then it'll be finished.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Existing dialogue and minute details. I like to use and reimagine current dialogue of the shows into my stories. And I drop blink and you miss them hints throughout.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Smut. I've gotten a lot of compliments but I still think I suck at it lol.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I'm pretty good at French but I love writing dialogue in another language. I don't write whole scenes in it. But I have two characters that know passible Japanese so I dropped some in a chapter. But I make sure to translate in the ending A/N.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Sailor Moon!! All the way back when NO ONE knew what fanfiction was.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Oh goodness... I love them all for different reasons. I think if I were to do this as Word Association it would be My Dearest Korkie. It's G-rated and less than 400 words but packs a punch! I think it really proves that a G-rated short short story can be just as good as a 300k+ multi-chapter E rated fic.
Bonus Question
21. What story of yours do you think needs more love?
The Suite Adult Life - I wrote this without knowing the show existed until I was suggested clips on YouTube. I never watched the clips, I just did one google search, read one synopsis, and one relationship timeline. Then out popped 100k+ words... I'm still kind of baffled by it lol.
Tagging- anyone else who wants to participate!

loading up ep 1 of season 2 and i'm wondering exactly what i'm in for XD fingers crossed i don't need my Anxiety Pillow from s1e7, it's currently In Use on the other couch
let's do this
starting with Marcus and...his mama, prolly? lotioning her hands, that's always a good thing -- hospitals get so friggin dry
unfortunately my "i know how TV works" sensors are going off, and if we're opening with Marcus and his sick mama(?), it means we're prolly gonna have that come back in ep 10 (10 ep season this time!! crazy!!), and, well...there's only so many storylines with a sick parent, sadly
they really heard i was mad at marcus and went with the sick parent route huh....i see you writers of the bear i see you
winter in chicago! does this mean we get a christmas ep?
FIRST SHOT OF CARMY AND IT'S A SYDCARMY SHOT. NO NOTES
and natalie's here! she felt a little isolated in the Mikey flashback last season, so i'm pleased she'll be involved with The Bear
syd...why are you Staring like that at carmy while he's shouting off costs for the restaurant...i mean i know why but like calling her out for it
carmy continually being 10k behind on the calculations...the bear is a comedy
also syd bringing him back to the correct total feels significant -- she's the part that finishes it, that brings the total to where it should be
"just kidding, 95" carmy's got jokes!!! gallows humor but jokes!!! and he says he's not funny
"we need a project manager" okay, you're hired." "syd." "nat." loving this friendship, here for it
the pizza box with carmy's squiggles....he was not kidding when he said he was bad with stuff like this huh
it's that carmy's an artist and absolutely does not care to even try to apply himself to anything else. spite got him to be the 'most excellent CDC at the most excellent restaurant', he's got more than enough mental firepower, he just cannot be bothered with Business
13 for the drywall...that's round about 108, 110k total depending on how accurate carmy's figuring is (which might be way off). i'm guessing it'll be closer to 150k, and that's half of the money owed to cicero...
i'm guessing carmy's gonna take the chance of getting his legs broken and put paying cicero on the backburner, but like...i get the feeling also that 300k is not gonna cover rennovating into The Bear, paying everyone, and getting things going
maybe they should hold ballbuster tournaments during reno....

20 Fanfic Questions
Tagged by: @therev28
Tagging: @zinziinziiin aaaand whoever else wants to do this one!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
One hundred and thirty nine!
2. What's your total word count?
I currently have 245,166 published! What I have that's unpublished.... Ahahahahahah....... It's over 300k if the last time I counted a few months ago was anything to go by
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently: Vocaloid, Love Love (Aqours, sometimes Niji), D4DJ, Nikkiverse (Shining Nikki & Love Nikki)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
50 Ways I Say "I Love You" — KaiMei, Vocaloid; Dia-nial — DiaRiko, LLSIF; Inspiration — Dia, LLSIF; Ghosts In The Apartment — KaiMei, Vocaloid; O One — DiaRiko, LLSIF
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to! I enjoy talking about my fics, so I'll usually respond. Some I don't answer though, either because I can't think of anything to say or because I'm unsure how I feel about the comment in the first place. Luckily, I can only count two people who fit the latter category, both of whom are blocked.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?Uhhhhh angstiest one that I've ever written involves a d4dj zombie apocalypse AU that features multiple deaths, which ends with some wildly unhealthy AoRika sacrifice. That fic is probably never getting finished, though, so. Rip. Angstiest that's been posted is probably Lavender Blue, a Love Nikki fic I wrote after reaching the part where Lunar died.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Oh god I don't even know which one to answer for this one. Proooooobably "Crumbs of the Whole?" At least out of my longfics, that's the happiest one.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not recently! I've never gotten a nasty comment on this account so far, but I've definitely gotten some flames in the past for writing characters they didn't like, and writing angst when they wanted a happy ending. Lmao.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Sometimes! I mostly write F/F, though I've done F/M a couple times bc KaiMei.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I don't normally write crossovers, though I do have a Sunshine/D4DJ one I'll get around to eventually. Craziest one was probably an unironic Vocaloid/Transformers one I wrote back in the day that I think I took down?
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge, but I wouldn't be surprised.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Unfortunately, no, but if anyone wants to give it a go, I've got blanket permissions for it on my profile!
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Yep! Excluding the 100k+ RPs I've done over the years, I've also written a fic with @zinziinziiin — "Road Tripping", an AyuKarin we wrote for IFHeaven's hunger games. I also co-wrote a Warriors fanfic on FFnet back around 2013-2014, but I don't remember what it was called or who I wrote it with. I believe it was taken down at some point, though, so it's a bit of a moot point.
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
DiaRiko or KaiMei.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
"How It Feels", a future fic centered around Ruby navigating how different life is for Aqours when she returns to Numazu after going to school for tailoring and finding Dia in an unhappy marriage and the events of getting her out of it. It was a longfic that I kept thinking about, but never got around to writing out in full. I doubt I'll ever have the steam for it at this rate, especially since my focus is elsewhere these days.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Prose and internal narration, I think!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Dialogue and pacing are the biggest ones I struggle with.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
No real strong thoughts on it in itself—though if the POV narrator is supposed to understand it (and by extension, the reader) I'd at least like the meaning able to be gleaned from context so I don't have to scroll to the end for the author's note translation of the conversation before having to scroll back to where I was; if you want readers who do not speak the language to be able to follow along, that's really not a good way to go about it.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Disney fairies fanfic when I was like. 8 or something. The first fandom I wrote for while consciously knowing what fanfic was? Proooooobably MLP??? It's been over ten years and I don't remember SHIT, lmao
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
Even after all these years, it's still gotta be Dia-nial. It's a disaster, it's a shit show, it's a shitpost that sprouted an actual plot, but my god is it a delight to write and reread. It rides the line of taking itself seriously while also not; it's stupidly funny until it kicks your teeth in. It's not my most refined work—not by a long shot—but I really do think it's my most lively fic to date.
"The analogy and her problems were year-round." fucking gets me every time

Note
I've been working on a long fic for almost 2 years now (300k words into it at this point), and there are a few things that help me a lot.
I'll try to make this coherent, but fair warning, I'm very tired today and it's hard to organize my thoughts.
-----
The first thing I do is make an outline, in which I do a numbered list or bulletpoint list of what's going to happen in the story. That helps me give the idea shape and direction.
-----
After that, I fill out character sheets so I know who is doing what, and why.
I'll share the template I use. I don't fill it out all the way for characters that only appear in the background, but I try to fill out all of it for the main characters. The bigger role the character has, the more detail their character sheet gets.
Tumblr media
This may be overkill to some people. It's certainly not necessary, especially for oneshots and short fics. But I've found it very helpful for writing something super long.
An alternative could be just writing a background paragraph (or page) for each character.
-----
After filling out the character sheets, I usually have to adjust the outline to reflect the discoveries I made during that process.
-----
Next, there are two different approaches I've taken.
1. Draft the whole thing.
2. Draft, finish, and post one chapter at a time.
I prefer the second approach. It's easier to handle one piece at a time, at least for me personally. Doing it that way also allows me to change the outline as needed while the story progresses, rather than risk having to re-write entire chapters later on because of changes that happened early in the story (when doing the second draft).
-----
This next thing has been VERY, VERY, VERY important for me as I work on a fic that has multiple story arcs, multiple subplots, and many chapters.
I've learned to evolve my outline as I go.
By that I mean, I start with an outline that gives an overview of what happens in each chapter. The plan for each chapter might be a few sentences or even a few paragraphs. It might have notes (such as "remember not to reveal xyz yet" or "hint at xyz" or "it's winter; snow might be nice for setting"). It keeps the story on track and gives a vague idea of what should/might happen in each chapter.
However, sometimes plans change. I might discover that the chapter wants to be different than I was expecting, and it might drift away from the outline a little (or a lot). I've learned to embrace this. As long as it makes sense for the story overall (and doesn't create a huge plot hole), these changes can be fun (because unexpected changes keep it interesting for me).
Now, here's where the evolution of the outline comes into play.
After I finish/post a chapter, I go back to the outline and change what was written for that chapter. In its place, I type out anywhere from 1/4 a page to a full page that summarizes what happened in the chapter.
In this summmary, I like to include a description of the events that happen in the chapter, bits of dialogue that are important (either for understanding the character, or because that dialogue hints at something that's going to happen, reveals something from the past, or will be referenced later), changes to how a character looks (did they get a new scar? A haircut? Have they lost weight from an illness?), setting details that feel important, and anything else that stands out to me.
Summarizing each chapter in the outline as I go has really helped me keep track of things. I tend to get overwhelmed with so much to remember, and I don't want to have to re-read the whole fic every time I need to refresh my memory of past events.
I do like to re-read the fic occasionally, mind you. But 300k words is a lot to read and it's only going to get longer as I keep posting new chapters.
Reading the outline takes way less time. I usually read it in between chapters (though you could do it much less often that that) (I have chronic illnesses that give me brain fog, so it's hard for me to keep track of things without a lot of help).
Anyway, my outline is extremely detailed for all the chapters I've written/posted so far, but it's vague for the chapters that still need to be written. And I re-read as needed.
---
A few other things, in no particular order:
Keep a list of subplots and add to it whenever you introduce a new one, so that you don't forget to wrap them up
Make a doc for setting descriptions (so you can check those details easily when you go back to that place later in the story)
Draw floor plans, maps, and other visuals aids (they don't have to look good)
Have a cuts/trash doc for stuff that you had to take out of a chapter but don't want to lose forever (or might be able to use later)
Make a playlist, or multiple playlists (I do a playlist per story arc and sometimes give certain characters a playlist). I've found that music helps me get into the right mindset before I write a chapter, especially if I've mentally tied it to a certain character or subplot
Take breaks regularly!!! If you've got a fic that's taking months or years, you're going to need regular breaks to rest and recharge your creativity. Go read something or watch a show or enjoy another hobby for a while. (I usually write for 3 weeks and then take 1 week off. If I feel I'm approaching creative burnout, I take a longer break)
Don't feel like you have to commit to a posting schedule. For me, having a deadline would be stressful and unpleasant, especially because I have periods of time where I'm too sick to write. I just post chapters when they are done, however long that takes
Do you have any advice and how to write a long fic?
I'll encourage long fic writers to add on in the notes, but as someone who tends to prefer short and medium-length fic, I'll tell you how I go about it.
Get a premise that you just absolutely love. You're going to be writing this thing for months, if not longer, so you want it to be something you're willing to spend a lot of time thinking about.
Embrace subplots. You'll have your main plotline that you want to see through from beginning to end, but you can also weave in some subplots here or there. The way I do this so that I don't get lost down a rabbit hole is that I always make sure that every chapter has at least 1 thing that moves the main plot forward and then if I want to spend 1-2K with some side characters doing something fun I can do that as well. Subplots can extend for the length of the full narrative, but they can also just last a chapter or three. If you're used to writing short fic, these might give you that familiar feeling of "completion"
A chapter is only as long as it needs to be. Don't get hung up on having a consistent chapter length. Don't get hung up on hitting some arbitrary number every time. Instead, figure out what the next part of your story needs to include and write however many words it takes to get that chunk across. Varying your chapter lengths is a normal thing to do and not something to stress about.
The next thing that I find important personally may or may not be relevant to you, but I find that I can't plot anything in much detail. If I get too into the nitty gritty with my plotting, it just feels like I've already written it. I need to keep it at the level of "And then A and B meet C and hijinks ensue." I can figure out the particular hijinks later. It's the characters meeting up that's the next important thing for me to figure out. Getting too far ahead of myself is a death knell for me in writing long fics, but there are other writers who swear by it. Test out different ways of approaching it and see what works for you.
As someone who tends to write more briefly, another feature that's common to longer fics is more extensive descriptions. People spend time painting visual pictures of the setting or the characters or the actions that are happening. Write the more bare-bones style that focuses more on dialogue (if you're like me) and then go back and read through what you've just written and see if there are opportunities to add in more detail. This can lead to some really interesting characterization choices and also help you out with worldbuilding.
When it comes to worldbuilding, you don't have to get it all on the page. You just need to share what's relevant for the reader in that moment and what is useful to lay out now so that it's already there in a future chapter. You can have an encyclopedic knowledge of how your world works in your head, but it's not actually necessary. No one is going to be quizzing you later - and if they do, you can always figure it out at that point.
Most important for me when I'm trying to get myself to the end of a longer fic, have a friend or a group of friends who are also into what you're writing - or at least willing to hear you get excited about it. Being able to get excited about your work is so important. It's like a bottle of water being handed to you on mile 10 of a marathon.

Hewwwwo you !
I just saw the post about tbiz qpr thing. It seems super interesting cause I've never really read founders as aspec. Except for maybe one Tobirama story i think. Can't remember. But to be in a qpr one or both will be aspec right ? (Or perhaps not ! Maybe They are pretending ‽!?!!‽ For whatever reason, it kinda seems on brand with them)
I had read your stories for tobirama week and izuna week and tbiz week on ao3 before ! Those were really really really really really good !!!! Izu casually murdering people who criticised his brother one and the sensei Tobi one with koharu getting her first period, are my favs 😭😭😭🥺❤️
Anyway, just wanted to say that it is a super interesting idea and if you do write it that would be amazing.
I understand completely if you don't want to. I didn't mean to pressure you as well. I'm really sorry if it comes across that way.
Hope you have a great day/night ! ❤️✨
anon, i- 🥺🥺💕💕💕💞💞😭😭♥️🥺♥️💞💕💞💞🥺
i just transformed into a puddle of goo and for once it's not because of the current summer heat.
thank you so much for your interest and your kind words and- ajschhsjhsdkjdshjdahj!!! 🥺♥️
the sensei tobi one is one of my faves as well, ngl. so i'm delighted to know you like that one too! 💖 (i actually still have a fic more to add to each of these week events. some day. whenever that may be.🌚 (listen, at this point i don't write for the week events; i just let myself be inspired by the prompts and then post whenever. sometimes it happens to align with the event, and sometimes... not so lol))
there are actually a few qp tbiz fics out there! i can't link you to any of those because brain empty but there's a HUGE one in which izuna accidentally creates a soulmate link between him and tobirama. i never rlly read it cause it's too long for me (the moment we breach 300k, i am lost,,, i'm sorry but 200k is my general max) but i've only ever heard good about it! if anyone has the link at hand, drop it pls ♥️
HA! it's actually NOT a story in which both are aspec! tobirama is actually very allo in this story, precisely because he often gets headcanon'd as aspec solely because he's more closed off which i find an annoying reason as it's often the more closed-off characters that get the aspec stamp. as if extroverted characters can't be aspec for some reason ??? :D
so yeah no, it's an allo tbrm and aro izn (and aroace mdr but he's just a side character here (honestly, i always see mdr as aroace unless i ship him with tbrm at the moment cause i want them to fuck nasty but in literally any other non-mdtb story he's aroace in my mind no matter if i mention as much or not)) story in which tbrm falls in love with izn but the latter can't reciprocate those romantic feelings. but like hell will izuna lose his best friend over something as stupid as unrequited romantic feelings. so, they make it work anyway :)
i've written a synopsis for every part down by now (once words stopped doing what i wanted them to do grrr) but i'll have to put it away for later because i really want to finish first the remaining marvel femslash fics before the late submission time is over. this idea just jumped at me while i was away on a festival and rlly didn't have the time or means to write it down. 😭 and it's getting much longer than expected, so it'll have to go to the back-burner for now. at least the important parts are summarized before i forget them lol.
so yes it will happen. just not now :)
and your message didn't come off as pressuring at all - on the contrary. i'm very happy to hear you're interested in my scribbles!! thank you SO much for your very kind message!!! hope you have a lovely day/evening!! ♥️♥️

EDIT: found the massive qp tbiz soulmates fic: HERE YOU GO :)

Thoughts on each TDI Reboot episode, almost halfway finished with 6. SPOILERS UNDER THE READMORE.
Had to take a break for food and other things, but I'm back for a few more episodes. Probably gonna have to finish it tomorrow tho lol.
Damn Chris is going off on the annoying fans lmao. Chef Hatchet really is the angel on his shoulder lol.
Oh wow they kept the continuity of Damien blowing up the kitchen. Tbh I didn't expect that.
Millie got bullied in school for the autism, I can feel it in my bones.
Ngl Millie and Zee are the most autistic people in this cast. Idc if Zee is meant to be the weed guy without the weed bc kids show, he's just a silly guy with autism to me.
OOOH Julia lost 300K followers. Again, I feel like is she originally had over 300K followers, then she definitely should have had bragging rights to say she was well known online. Even if she did call herself an influencer 🤢. Maybe I'll actually like the real Julia.
Never mind she slapped Bowie, that's another crime.
Wayne why do you eat hockey pucks. Honey, do you need therapy too?
Catapults are back...
Catapult camp 😰 Priya, get away from your family.
Crab rave in the crab pit
Damn Emma has a SCREAM HOLY SHIT. Rivaling Lydnsay ain't she.
GO BOWIE SAVE YOUR BOYFRIEND
Mutants are still a thing??? Does that mean the Tapioca sharks are also mutants?
RAJBOWIE ON SCREEN KISS WWAAAHHOOOO
EVEN THE SHARK SAYS GAY RIGHTS AYAYYYYYAYAYAAAAYY
Zee is so stupid, I lob he. Also Ripper now has a crab friend, hope it stays.
Rip Zee's spare leg.
Priya and Millie besties for real now!!
I'm glad they're reversing the gay character is a joke trope to the straight ally character is a joke tope.
Seeing Chris playing with a smartphone is such a weird thing to me. Like a fanfic thing, but it's real.
Despite all the stuff with MK and Julia, Bowie is still happy about getting kissed by Raj.
MK gone already? Bye I guess? Idk she wasn't too interesting and I forgot she was there half the time. Which I guess is the point, but kinda not great for a memorable character. But I would have preferred for her to stay over Julia.
Chris making an ET joke and MK calling it an old man joke is making ME feel old. I'm Gen Z, but I've watched ET at least once as a teenager.
Episode was kinda meh? RajBowie was the highlight, but as much as I love the queer rep, it's definitely shallow. Which I guess works out since most of the other het couples for this series are also super shallow. Equality lmao.
Also plot with MK and Julia already over? Man, wasted potential.

Writing Update (08/09/22)
Hello everyone!
This week has been a good week-- I managed to write 32k words (joys of high variation combat scenes), meaning that Chapter 5 is currently 232k words. As of now, there's only one "real" scene that needs to be finished, which is the one I've been working on this entire week. It's all combat, which means it's a lot of variations for a very short length of writing. The good news is that you should all have fun comparing how your fights played out.
I'm currently working on the first main variation of the scene, and once that's done it's a matter of copy and pasting and rerouting choices while I edit as needed. The current main variation is 16k (though it's not finished), and there's 6 main variations in total, which means if we do basic math of 16 x 6 we get 96k words.
I'm hoping I'll be able to negate that with some smartly placed *goto's and recycled choices, but we'll see. Either way, I see the final word count of Pt. 1 being somewhere around 300k, or lurking just around that.
However, time to get to the good news...
When you look at the words to be written, it seems like there's a lot to do. In reality, we are very close to the finish line. Because of this, I feel safe to say that I'm aiming for a release window of Chapter 5 at some point in September!
I'm going to work hard these next two weeks to finish the chapter to have it be read by the alpha readers. Once it goes through being read and proper editing, it'll be ready for all of you to read! Chapter 5 is definitely tailored to be a unique experience for everyone, and there's a lot of variation re. your relationship with certain characters, so I'm excited to see the difference in certain scenes between some players...
Anyways-- that's all for this week. Thanks for reading!
