This took way too long to finish, but here it is anyway (5 whole days later)

This is Hildegard, the thief, wearing stolen clothes of course.

I got skyrim on monday and I only knew about the dragons and the "you're finally awake" meme beforehand, so I would've named her something more Khajiiti had I known where the Khajiits are from, HOWEVER I did decide that she changed her name when she got to Skyrim.

So far my favourite things about this game are: the fact that you can throw corpses into rivers, the fact that you can ride horses up vertical mountains, and Brynjolf, who makes me giggle and kick my feet like a schoolgirl in love.

Studying linguistics is actually so wonderful because when you explain youth slang to older professors, instead of complaining about how "your generation can't speak right/ you're butchering the language" they light up and go “really? That’s so wonderful! What an innovative construction! Isn't language wonderful?"

#linguistics #gen z slang #english #as people in the reblog pointed out!#most gen z slang comes from (or was appropriated from) aave #honestly I was just excited to talk about how people in my field actually get excited about non standard uses of English #instead of ridiculing speakers #and I tagged incorrectly and didn’t point out the very real issues of language and power and appropriation inherent in modern slang #in that much of it was appropriated #and even that which experiences language change in the wider culture still originated in aave #aave is just as linguistically valid as any other English dialect because it is a proper language #and the grammar is incredible!!!#habitual be is fantastic and an excellent example of how a richer case system or a certain case can render an adverb unnecessary #and the phonology is just beautiful #anyway I’m very sorry #I fucked up

The good news is, out of all my fics, this is the one with the most detailed outline, and an outline that I have been sticking to the closest, which means this is actually the only fic that I know, with full confidence, where it is going next (for the most part lol we are nearing fork in the road where there are three different fully mapped out endings and I do need to decide which one we're following) I'm glad that I'm able to keep you guessing though, and I promise it's not gonna be as scary as it seems!

Been thinking about Ford watching the 70s Animated Lord of the Rings Movies... (companion comic to this post!)

#the other two VHS tapes Fidd's is holding are Rankin-Bass' The Hobbit (1977) and Return of the King (1980)! The 70s animated pseudo-trilogy!#A lot of people pointed out on my other lotr 'crossover' post that Ford would have seen the 70s movies!#And i wont lie i entirely forgot they existed. But now i remember i have so many feelings on it okay. no!!!!!! 8 episodes will kill patient!!!!!!!! he needs 12-24 episodes some of which is light-hearted filler to live!!!!!!!!!!!!

#this was about shows in general but dw is on my mind #like the new season was so fawking good but oh my god it's so heavy. hrgh #I know this isnt the fault of the ppl making the show it's just that fucking everything has to be 8 episodes now #well stop!!!! please!!!!!!!!! aaaa!!!!!!!!#15 clearly going thru it yelling and crying in the upcoming christmas special WOULD be exciting but that's also the #plot of every single episode in the preceding season...#i dont think him being miserable at christmas is bad in fact it's great. im saying the absence of the #5 episodes that would've been 0 stakes fun adventures is making itself very very felt and obvious #like imagine season 4 which is already pretty much just unending misery WITHOUT the few fun fillers we get. lethal and #not in a good way. sometimes you need to breathe!!!#that does not excuse pl.anet of the d.ead being ass but yknow. at least it doesn't make me cry for an hour #doctor who #dw text #barking

how crazy would it be if i became a biology lab instructor. would that be crazy or what

#what am i doing? idk man #i saw a listing and it excites me. like teaching entry bio lab at a college. could you imagine #the college freshmen would be on their phones like idk what this guy is going on about but he seems pretty fired up about this #not much i can do about that but i for one would be having a good time #i finished my emt class and i only have to take one more test until im licensed #and then i can work as one or just volunteer and do plants as my job. which like. plants as my job is ideal i think #i think that is what i have learned i am so so so sad without plants #but an emt job could get me out of here right now at this very moment which is appealing #because otherwise my ass is going to put it off
