I love making birthcharts for my characters it's so tea.

Like Castor and Pollux (I'm counting them as honorary oc's bc less than 2% of their characterisation came from Rick, the rest I added for LC) being born with enough time between them for the moon and Ascendant to shift (Castor born at 3:30AM Pollux was born 3:55AM) which means that their personalities are perfectly balanced between them. They have the same main traits but go in slightly different directions with their approaches and internal emotional processing.

Why does that matter to me? Because that balance works when they're together. They have perfect push and pull traits to get shit done with creativity but not devolving into absolute chaos.

But if you remove one from the equation, there's nothing to balance them out. Essentially they'll feel off kilter without the other. And we all know how this ends.

I know my weakness in my writing is definitely my prose itself. I mean, you can ofc tell what is going on, but most of it is very clear cut and straight to the point. I am not a very descriptive or flowery writer (which to a certain degree is fine) however I definitely think that’s something I need to improve upon. Not just in descriptions and introspection and word choice, but I even struggle with making sure I’m not formatting all my sentences the exact same way.

My strengths are definitely in my pacing, plotting abilities, and character work, both regarding individual arcs and relationship development. Tbh out of these options, I am glad that that is what I’m very strong in, because I feel these things can carry a story that the prose might be lacking in, but I find it difficult to forgive stories that are the other way around

That is to say, I’ve been feeling a bit frustrated about my writing recently, both while actually writing and also editing. I don’t mean that in a bad way, it’s just that I am now hyper aware of what needs work. It’s that annoying period of developing a skill where you can see what needs to be improved, but you haven’t quite gotten to the how yet

I think in the next new fic I start that’s going to be my goal, to heavily focus on my description and word choices and flow of the writing itself. I don’t want to lean to heavily into it with things that are already in progress because a complete change in writing style would be jarring, but it’s definitely something I want to experiment with very heavily in future projects

I've had this embroidery project for a while now (a portrait of one of the dogs), and i've hit the "i really dont want to work on this anymore" wall with it. And i still have half or more to go. Bad planning on my part, i think, but my point is Im gonna pivot projects until I feel better about working on it.

A while ago a friend gifted me Cult of the Lamb and I wanted to embroider the Lamb and the Goat and I finally got around to sketch them out to trace on the fabric (because i like doing things the hard way apparently).

I also saw a trailer for the 3rd Sonic movie and i got the itch to embroider Shadow to match the Sonic I made some time ago. (And maybe remake Sonic to look nicer).
