#woman notices my mocassins and like starts asking me questions about them#asks if i'm indigenous and i say Yeah i'm métis#and she's like Oh are you like full. and im like What.#and she's like Fullblooded#which is like kinda a whole can of worms to explain to settlers#so i'm like Yeah i mean i'm fully métis but like the thing with being métis is that it's like intermixing bw settlers and indigenous so#and she's like. settlers?#and i say Yeah. and she goes Ohhh like the french and i'm like yeah.#and she goes#Don't you think that's like. Offensive?#and i say What. What do you mean#and she says isn't calling them settlers like the same as me calling you an indian#And i was like. No. and promptly made my way out#what the fuck was this i never have interactions like this. What#Let me be perfectly clear i am métis. but i am also a white person. i do not experience shit like this unless i expressly tell ppl i'm metis#and they decide to be assholes about it#absolutely fucking bizarre way to speak to people
