You know, i've been reading a lot of steve/tony fic the past month and i love them both a lot but i've been seething mad all day just thinking about how so much of this fandom treats him and purposely mistreats his character and Steve Rogers is this skinny kid from Brooklyn who signed up for a war over and over again despite knowing it would kill him because he didn't like knowing that other men were out there dying and when Erskine asked if he wanted to kill Nazis he said no and he spent years fighting in alleyways and causing trouble and getting beat up and probably would have ended up dead if Bucky hadn't been there to pull him out of shit because he doesn't like bullies and he refuses to back down and "Whatever happens tomorrow, you must promise me one thing. That you will stay who you are. Not a perfect soldier, but a good man." and grenade get back get back and azzano and i have to put her in the water and "Yeah, we compromised. Sometimes in ways that made us not sleep so well. But we did it so the people could be free. This isn't freedom, this is fear." and "the price of freedom is high. It always has been. And it's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not." and "we're not at war, captain" "they are" and he gets up and he gets up and he gets up over and over and over and he's seventy years out of time and everything keeps changing and every time he gets comfortable something destroys that comfort and he's always losing people, losing friends, losing soldiers, and there's never a clean break with Peggy because he misses their dance and then has to lose her in a separate more permanent way as well, and he loses bucky and finds him and loses him over and over and wants to trust people and keeps getting betrayed and he's trying to be a good man but it gets so complicated but he's still trying even when it would be so much easier to just not try at all and he hurts people because he's human and unfortunately being a superhuman with superhero friends means the capacity for hurt is wider and deeper than anything you or i could dream of but he keeps going and keeps fighting and loses the biggest fight of his life and lives with that every day for years when there are reminders of the biggest failure ever around every corner and then he just keeps going. He's twenty seven when he's unfrozen in 2014, younger than i am now, and the reasonable thing for him to do would have been to get out. leave the fighting and the aliens and the bullshit to someone else. But he's a good man and to him, sometimes, that means being a good soldier and sometimes good men hurt people but that doesn't mean they aren't still good men, it only means they're human and i think people could stand to sit the fuck down and think about what it would feel like to wake up in a year where every single person you knew is dead or close enough to it that they might as well be. there's no option to go make up with a family member he doesn't like, there's no old friends to become new again, everyone he knew is dead and he is still reeling from the fresh grief of losing bucky and somehow, instead of having a perfectly understandable breakdown, he picks himself up and keeps going.
and while i'm here, Tony Stark wouldn't thank anyone bashing on Steve in his defense. You destroy his character in your defense of him and he wouldn't even thank you for it.

FIC REC WEEK 46 – IDENTITY PORN
Modern Problems by tonys (orphan_account)
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: T Words: 803 Tags: Misdirection, Dating Advice, Or Lack Thereof
Summary: Steve Rogers has a crush on Iron Man. Steve Rogers has no idea Iron Man is Tony Stark. Steve Rogers proceeds to ask Tony Stark how he could court Iron Man.
Reasons why I love it: Oh god, Tony, you human disaster, what are you doing?! I would legitimately read about a billion words exploring this concept, it's so good. Poor Steve, I hope they get their shit sorted out eventually. Definitely check this one out, it's great!
Trust Fall by thyrza
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: E Words: 10,603 Tags: Canon Divergence, Reality Stone, Supervillains
Summary: Billionaire industrialist Tony Stark moonlights as the supervillain Iron Man, top of SHIELD's Most Wanted List and archenemy of the heroic Squadron Supreme. Then he meets the mysterious vigilante known as The Captain, and his world turns upside down. (Tie-in for S02E09, 'Dark Avengers.')
Reasons why I love it: This is such a cool concept! I love how thyrza plays with the Avengers’ identities and reality as a whole, it's super interesting. And the Stony romance is fantastic, I especially enjoyed the identity reveal. Plus, the smut is great. I love this one, and I bet you will too, so I hope you check it out!
The Way To A Man's Heart (Is Through His Stomach) by dingadur
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: T Words: 7,866 Tags: Pizza Place, Tony Isn't Ironman, Romantic Comedy
Summary: Twenty-something Tony Stark surprisingly meets Captain America, when the latter stumbles into Tony's place of work and passes out, which starts off a chain of weird meetings between the two. Oh, and Tony's got a crush on his customer named Steve. I'm sure you know where this is going.
Reasons why I love it: This fic is super fluffy and fun. Tony's inner monologue is hilarious, and I love both his and Steve's characterizations. There's just something about No Powers AUs where Steve is still Cap that I really enjoy, and this fic is no exception. I hope you give it a go for yourself, because it's excellent!
speak easy by firebrands
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: M Words: 1,917 Tags: Friends to Lovers, Drunken Confessions, Recreational Drug Use
Summary: It was a normal Tuesday between the two of them, stressed and under duress and Tony needing a drink. Tony had escaped his office to work with Steve, using the excuse that a change of scenery made him more productive. Steve was just happy to spend time with Tony, really.
Reasons why I love it: This is exactly the kind of slice of life fic that I love. Their progression from friends to lovers feels so natural, and I love how Steve handles Tony's overreaction in the face of what they're doing. This fic is fantastic, and you should definitely read it!
Met You on a Monday by justanotherrollingstony (adoctoraday)
Pairing: Steve/fem!Tony Rating: G Words: 10,296 Tags: Getting Together, Miscommunication, First Kiss
Summary: The Chitauri invade on a Monday, the same day that Steve meets Iron Man for the first time, and then Toni Stark--and then everything he thinks he knows about both of them goes right out the window.
Reasons why I love it: This is such a cool take on what the MCU might have looked like if Tony had been born a woman. I especially love how quickly they go from being at each others' throats to actually getting along, and the dancing scene towards the end makes me so happy, I can't even tell you. Definitely check this one out if you haven't, it's amazing!

hi!! first off i just want to say i love LOF and i think it really stands out in this niche genre of “spiderman in gotham”, its my absolute favourite fic rn and im loving the long chapters and dynamics between characters :)
for my question, i wanted to know if you ever considered writing any portions of peters past. specifically when he was “Parker”, an informant for the avengers. it sounds like a really interesting story and i’d love to know more about it, no pressure tho ^^
thank you so much!! I do plan on writing more about it. I honestly want to do a prequel,,,
I have some of it written actually. It was called It's called "Technically Not a Lie (Just Omitting Information)" and what is hilarious about that is it's only 27,000 words right now. I haven't touched that fic in forever because I just... had all of the information written down and the planning, and I got into Batfam and was like "Let's just write a little about this" and we can all blame @alighterwood for where we are now LMFAOOO
Thing is, I never expected LoF to get so popular, which is why it was posted first. I was like "I'll just make sure as much as I can that LoF is clear about his past so anyone who isn't me can read it and be fine." And now that we're here, I'm like "...that might be important."
I think it would be fun to have a prequel so more people can see the dynamics of Peter's world from before LoF in a much clearer light.
I kind of wanna shed a little light on how this prequel would go:
He ran from his last foster house at 12 years old, and he's year years old in this fic. In that time, he has been determined to make a life for himself all on his own, as well as help people as Spider-Man. He has no idea that his personality made people trust him so much. He's only on the street for about a year by the time the story starts, but "Parker" is very much intertwined with people. People just know him, he's the kid that the other kids go to for help. Even without Spider-Man (who, at this point, has only just gotten a proper suit and people actually realize he's not a cryptid), Parker manages to help people.
That's why the Avengers end up talking to him. Kids are going missing in Queens and show up dead- but most of them are the homeless population. They think it has something to do with people trying to make a knock-off super solider serum, and during their investigation, everything comes back to "That Parker Guy." Not in a bad way- everything has nice things to say. One kid even says they'll only talk to them if Parker vouches for them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Turns out, Parker is a 13 year old and a fucking genius. I mentioned in LoF chapter 1 about it a little bit, and here and there it was mentioned. Peter gives the Avengers a real run for their money the way he does for the Batfam. Except it's ten times worse because he hasn't gone to therapy and is on his own, yknow?
So Bucky and Steve run across Peter (who is doing his own investigation into the missing kids as both Parker and Spider-Man) and that conversation ends with Peter going "Look behind you!" and sprinting in the opposite direction.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sam and Banner are the ones that really track Parker down and have the first contact with him, and from there, he becomes their informant. Of course, he's also lying to their faces. Swears that he has a mother waiting for him and that he's just really good friends with these people. And people have lied several times to their faces for Peter, going with the lie, which muddies the waters about what is and isn't the truth.
From there, the rest is history. Tony thought he was just viewing Peter like he was a puzzle to figure out, and is truly shaken to his core when he realizes how much he cares about the little shit. When Peter gets kidnapped by the people making the knock off serum, they go looking for him. And Peter ends up having a home :)

Pacifier pt 3
Tumblr media
pairing: Peter Parker x Fem!Reader;
word count: 5K
part1 part2
warnings: mentions of sex ; Peter is younger than the reader, but still 18. Reader is around 20. Peter is trying to pin reader even though he is younger.
summary: In this one you’re hired as Morgan’s babysitter (and low-key underpaid Stark!assistant). Looking after a little girl isn’t too hard, but looking after her “big bother” as well, definitely is.
an: Peter and reader are just Tony's kids at this point. I've never really written anything about people actually being in a relationship so apologies if it's kinda sucky.
Tumblr media
"No, we're not making an official Avengers tik-tok account, forget it." You told Peter, who had been begging you for days now.
"But it's going to be soo good! People will see the silly, goofie side of everyone and that way we can build more trust!"
"Pepper, please back me up here!"
"Peter actually has a point." Pepper said.
All of you were sitting at the dinner table, it was the first family dinner since the Starks had come back from their vacation.
"Tony, please!" you looked at him, begging him to support you this time. "Do you seriously think anyone would want to participate in supid dance trends or prank wars?"
"I'm a great dancer!" Tony said, he was taking Peter's side to mess with you.
"I cannot believe this is actually about to happen. Imagine making Steve do a tik-tok dance. Or anyone for that matter. Imagine Tony doing the makarena in the iron suit!"
"It's going to be hilarious, exactly my point!" Peter whined, drinking some of the orange juice he had poured for himself.
"I'm not doing the makarena, I have a daughter!''
"Should have thought about it before backing up Spider-man on that one!"
"Should have thought about it before back up Spider-man on that one!" Tony mocked your tone "The world should see what these hips can do! We're definitely making a tik-tok account now!"
Your "relationship" with Peter was still in the closet, since the first month wasn’t over, you didn't really feel comfortable sharing it with anyone, especially Tony. Peter on the other hand was pretty much settled down. He spent every free minute he had at the tower just to be with you, which was really getting in the way of your studying. He was a lot of help with Morgan, most of the time you felt like both of them shared one brain cell. It made so much sense now why Tony loved Peter like his own son. And that being the case, your secret relationship with him was in the clear.
You gave Morgan a tissue, helping her wipe away some of the food that was on her face. She giggled because the corner tickled her nose, turning to look at you. You smiled at her, petting her head as she continued eating with her spoon, spilling most of the contents all over the table.
"Tony, do you even know what tik-tok is?" you asked.
"I'm not that told, of course I know!"
"It's that video app that Morgan watches on your phone." You explained anyway, sure he had no idea what the conversation really was about.
"It's that? Then no, we're definitely not making a tik-tok account."
---
Somehow Peter managed to persuade all of you into this. But if you think about it, he persuaded you into dating him, he could practically get anything he wanted. And because of this absurd idea, you were now setting up a phone on a tripod, placing it in the middle of the living room. Peter was next to you in his spider suit and the other Avengers were talking on the couch while you two worked.
"So you guys have to go rounds?" you asked, looking over at Peter. He had his mask off, holding it in one hand.
"Yeah, and after we film, we have to put the names after every round with an X on an O, depending on who managed to hide in time."
"Sometimes I think you started this whole thing because you don't have any friends."
"I have friends?"
You took a few steps back, seeing what was in the frame.
"Yeah? Like who? And you're not allowed to say me, we're not friends."
"Well, there's Ned and MJ."
"I don't think this is going to work out."  You said, looking at the others. "You literally have gigantic, muscular men, trying to hide in a minimalistic living room. And then there's also the Hulk."
“Did you just thirst over muscular men right in front of me?” Peter laughed, placing his hand on your waist. Usually you would tense up when he did that, but since you were now dating, you didn't.  "Trust me, it will be fun!"
"Mask on please, get everyone in position."
He nodded, putting his mask on and telling everyone to gather in front of the camera and pose. You stood behind the phone, looking at the frame. Everyone was in it. They were gathering like they were about to take a picture, standing in cool superhero poses.
"Okay guys, you look poster worthy. I'll count to 3 and all of you have 5 seconds to hide somewhere before the camera takes a picture!" you explained. Peter had ran through this with them before but you felt the need to explain again. "1, 2, 3..."
And you pressed record. Pure chaos was unleashed after that. Peter shot a web and stuck to the ceiling, Thor jumped over the couch along with Cap, laying flat on it so they were not visible. Hulk just grabbed the couch with both of them on it, lifting it and putting it in front of him sideways, while the others just fell on the ground on top of each other. Natasha practically jumped on an armchair that got knocked over from her force and got out of the frame entirely. The 5 seconds were over and you were barely holding in your laughter at that point. You had expected this to go badly but not nearly as bad as it actually was.
You did a few more rounds, each one more ridiculous than the previous. And after that you got to work, writing out the winners and losers to each round in your notes. Now all that was left was editing it and posting.
You were sitting at your desk, biting your lip as you were concentrating on figuring out where to place all the names and scores on the screen so they wouldn’t block out any important things in the video. Or should you have them appear at the end? Your work was interrupted by Peter walking in your room, making your head turn. He had the mask in his hand, still wearing the suit.
“Hi, pumpkin!” he said, which made you raise an eyebrow at him and squint your eyes in displeasure.
“That sounded ridiculously cheesy and I really hate it.’’
“I thought introducing some kind of pet name into this relationship would be nice, I need to change your name in my phone.”
“Think of another one.”
He walked over to you, a gentle kiss was immediately placed on the top of your head while his eyes wandered to your phone, looking as the video played with half of the scorings written in the middle of it.
“Ooo, did I win?” he asked, his hand resting on your shoulder.
“Mmmm, you didn’t lose definitely, but you lost a point on the third round when you stuck yourself in fetal position to Hulk’s back and he started spinning in circles trying to get you off.”
“That’s not fair! I hid well!”
“But the camera still saw you, I don’t make the rules.”
He kissed your cheek before laying down on your bed. You finished up the video and hit upload before following him. It was still new and uncomfortable for you to be affectionate with him in public, but your room offered a safe space to try. You wouldn’t shut him down when he tried making a move on you in front of the others like you used to do, but initiating intimacy yourself was really out of the picture. He put his phone away when he saw you get up, opening his arms. You lay on top of him as he wrapped his arms in a warm embrace. You relaxed your weight on him, head pressed against his chest. Cons to having a spider-man boyfriend was you were never worried you’d crush him.
“I need to say something and I don’t want it to turn into a fight.” he said, making you look at him.
You placed your hands on top of his chest, resting your head on them as you watched him.
“What is it about?” you asked.
“Since the month of us trying to date is almost over…”
“Pete… I know what you’re gonna say and the month isn’t over yet. Please don’t let it get over your head before it actually happens.”
“But we’re a week away from a month!”
“I know but a lot can happen in a week… You know exactly how much.” You told him, referring to the time you two had spent alone together almost a month ago.
“Okay, okay, baby mice steps. I get it.”
“Precisely.”
You tried to relax after the conversation, laying your head on his chest while he stroked your back gently. For some reason it was just not working to calm you down. You turned to look at him again and he was already staring, a soft smile painted across his lips. A soft sigh escaped yours, your hands reaching out to wrap around his neck and pull yourself closer to him. Still feeling uneasy from what he said, you slid your body on one of his sides, hiding your face in his neck. He giggled softly because you tickled him in the process, squeezing you gently.
“I’m sorry.” you mumbled against his neck, your hand drawing soft circles on his chest.
Peter hummed softly, raising your chin with his hand to place a soft kiss on your lips.
“It’s okay, I know I’m impatient.”
“No, I think you’re being reasonable. I’m the one who’s overreacting.”
He kissed you again, slowly and gently, his lips moving against yours while he still held your chin with his hand.
“You’re alright, babe. Baby steps.”
You nodded, letting your head fall on his shoulder this time, placing soft kisses on his jawline.
“Baby steps.” You repeated in a whisper.
You enjoyed cuddling with him more than you had anticipated, neither of you expected your primary love language to be physical touch. But Peter didn’t mind that even one bit, he loved touching you for comfort, his hands were on your legs whenever you two went somewhere with the car, no matter who was driving. He would make sure to place his hand one the small of your back whenever you two would pass each other in a hallway. His knee would touch yours under the dinner table when he was over. It was subtle and it brought the both of you so much comfort and adrenaline. You were basically hiding in plain sight.
You had no idea if Tony was onto the two of you yet or not. Peter was over way more than he used to be, he even sneaked in a few times during the night. The alarms wouldn’t go off because, well it was Peter after all. It wasn’t like you were trying to sneak in someone who wasn’t registered into the security systems. And Tony adored the kid, so he was extra happy about having him around more. Things were going pretty smoothly if anyone had to ask you.
You hated to admit, but Peter was right. This whole tik-tok thing was an absolute hit. It humanized all of the Avengers so much that people started trusting and liking them more than ever before. You were getting millions of likes and comments on all of the videos you uploaded, which were more or less different trends. It was annoying that you had to run the whole account, like you didn’t have enough work to do.
Today you filmed the tortilla slap challenge with Bucky, Natasha and Sam. Peter desperately wanted to join it but everyone was against the idea of him publicly announcing his secret identity, especially for a tik-tok. So you made him mop up the floor after, since he wanted to be involved so badly.
All of them went into a meeting straight after that, leaving you with 10 minutes to run and grab a coffee for everyone. The 10 minutes you had were definitely not enough to make it back with so many cups. And to top it all off, the Parker family was on a mission to make it extra difficult for you. Peter was spamming your messages begging you to listen to “Yellow hearts” by Ant Saunders because somehow it was “exactly describing the relationship you two had.” And you were walking down a street, trying to reply to a message, hands full of coffee cups, when you ran into Peter’s aunt - May.
“Oh, Y\N! Lovely seeing you!” she said with a bright cheerful smile, making you look up from your phone. You were trying to support the cups with your chin while you texted, because all of them couldn’t fit in the paper bag.
“May! Hey!” you replied once you shook off the surprise, shoving the phone in your back pocket.
“How are you, sweetheart? I’ve been hearing about you lately, but not seeing enough.” she smiled, placing a hand on your arm as she spoke.
“I’m alright, a little busy actually. Are you here to pick up Parker JR after the meeting?”
“Yes, and I thought I could drink some coffee while I’m waiting. Peter recommended the place.”
“He did, didn’t he?” you asked, trying to mask how frustrated and overwhelmed you were becoming. “I need to run, I’m already late.”
“It’s okay, we can catch up another time? Dinner over at Queens this week?” she asked, but you were already walking away from her.
You turned your head to look at her in a little bit of a shock, not expecting a whole dinner invitation to her house. Your fears turned out to be true, Peter had told her about dating you.
“I’m very busy, I’ll tell the spider whenever I can.” You smiled politely at her before walking away, in the most rapid pace you could manage without actually running.

--
“Hey, kid, these are for you.” you heard Tony say as he walked into the living room.
You were helping Morgan with a coloring book, or rather watching her color in it from time to time while you read through your biology textbook. Exams were coming up and you didn’t have a second to spare. Tony’s voice captured your attention, making you look up and see him hold a beautiful bouquet of yellow and white roses, decorated with little daisies.
“For me? Thank you Tony, but that’s so weird.”
“They’re not from me. They were left for you at the door.”
“The front door?”
“No, by the doggy door.”
You rolled your eyes at his comment, getting up to look at the flowers yourself. In the meantime Tony took the card out reading out loud. You tried stopping him by grabbing the card but he lifted his hand up, making you jump to try to get it but failing.
“Thank you for coming to dinner last night, love, your secret boyfriend.” he read, looking at you in shock “You have a boyfriend?”
“No, I don’t.”
“Does Peter know about you having a boyfriend?”
“I don’t have a boyfriend.”
“Yes, and he’s not sending you flowers at your door for having dinner with him. Who is he?”
“Tony, you’re not my dad.”
Your words made him snap out of his protective mode, giving you the flowers and the note. You took them in your arms reluctantly, reading the note to be sure he was actually right about what was written on it. Tony looked at you with an expression that you couldn’t really decode, it looked like shock, pain and worry at the same time. You were going to kill Peter, for real this time.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean for it to sound like that.” you said, breaking the silence that had fallen upon the two of you.
He placed an arm on your shoulder, squeezing it lightly.
“Nothing to apologize for here, I know I can never replace your parents, I’m not trying either.” Tony gave your shoulder a pat, turning around to look at Morgan, who had stopped coloring and was now listening to the two of you.
“Thank you… For worrying about me, I appreciate it. I know I don’t say it enough but I value your presence in my life, or rather my presence is yours.”
“Please don’t make this more awkward than it already is.”
“Usually I’m the one who says that.”
“Would you look at that, your boyfriend has made you cheesy.”
You shook your head in disgust from his words, watching him as he walked over to Morgan and lifted her up in his arms, spinning around as he hugged her. It was your queue to leave before it got any weirder, so you gathered your books and left as fast as you could.
Shutting the door of your room behind you, phone on your ear as you had already dialed Peter’s number. He picked up on the fourth ring, right before you gave up on this call.
“Hey!” His cheerful voice on the other side of the line.
“What’s with those flowers?” you asked, cutting right to the chase.
“Don’t you like them? May said it was what I was supposed to do after you came over for dinner and she said flowers would be a ni-”
“I love the flowers, but Tony found them before I did.”
“Oh.”
“Thank you for not being dumb enough to not sign your name on that card.” you sighed, placing the bouquet on your desk next to the messy piles of notebooks. “Now he thinks I have a boyfriend.”
“But you do have a boyfriend.” he laughed softly. You could hear his smile on the other side of the line.
“I know this label makes you very happy, I’m glad it does, but please be more careful next time.”
“Alright, bet, next time I want to bring you flowers I’ll stick them to the ceiling of your room with my webs so no one else can see them.”
“Now that’s a thought.” you laughed, looking at the ceiling just to make sure he hadn’t already done that.
In reality, you weren’t mad at him for sending you flowers. You loved them, it was a very nice gesture and it made you feel warm on the inside. Sure, it wasn’t the best way to receive them and it stressed you out, but at the end of the day, you had a very good boyfriend that wanted to make you happy.
—
Peter walked in the apartment holding a red rose in his hand. His smile was spread across his face as the elevator door opened in front of him, leading him into the big living space. He came here straight from school, after his Math quiz. He didn’t bother going home first to leave his backpack, went straight to a flower shop to get you a rose and head to the Stark tower so he could invite you on a very special date. He expected you to be watching over Morgan alone and it caught him by surprise when he saw Tony sitting on the couch. You were standing next to him, reading over something which he had probably given you. Tony turned his head, noticing it was Peter with the side of his eye.
“Hey, kid.” he said.
Peter froze in his spot, his heart pounding in his chest from the fear of how this was going to play out. He had to think of something really fast. He threw the rose in the air as Tony’s head moved to face you again for a second, shooting a web at it to stick it to the ceiling.
“What’s with that rose?” Tony asked a second later, after he processed what he had seen, turning fully around to look at Peter.
“What rose?” Peter replied, looking around, his hands empty now.
“I swear you were holding a rose just now.”
“No, I wasn’t. Maybe you saw my Math quiz with this big red A written on it.” The paper was folded in half and shoved in his back pocket because he was in such a rush to get here, he didn’t have time to put it in his bag. He took the paper out of his pocket, showing it to Tony.
Their conversation made you look up at Peter. You knew he was lying. The tone of his voice sounded nervous and like he was going to crack under the pressure.
“You need to work on your lying skills.” Tony said, turning his back to him and looking at you again. You looked at Peter, then at Tony and your gaze fell on the papers.
“Everything seems fine.” You told Tony, handing him the red folder back. He had hired some new engineers for his labs, helping him and wanted you to review their work just in case. It wasn’t like you were majoring in engineering, your passion was biology and biochemistry, but you just knew math well enough to spot any mistake if there was any.
“Okay, thank you. You’re free now” He told you, reading through the folder again.
Ten minutes later Tony was still sitting on the couch, reading through the folder. You and Peter silently decided to study on the kitchen table across from each other. You were already engrossed in the textbook you were reading, highlighting, writing things down in your notebook, sticking sticky notes in the book. You were trying your best to ignore Peter’s constant fidgeting in his seat, the annoyed flipping through pages with sighs escaping his lips. His hands moving on the table when he would get bored, making you flinch in your seat, worried he would try to touch you in front of Tony. You heard silent ripping of paper, trying to ignore it, but Peter threw it a small paper ball at you to get your attention. You looked over at him, annoyed by his overall behavior in the last 10 minutes. Both of you had finals knocking at your doors and he was doing everything in his power to distract you. He pointed at the ceiling as soon as your eyes met, making you look in the direction. And there it was, the rose Tony was talking about earlier, a single red rose, webbed onto the ceiling. You wanted to burst out laughing but held yourself back, looking at Peter again. He was writing something, passing it to you a few seconds later.
“Will you be my prom date?” it read, looking at him and shaking your head no. You had already told him a million times you were not going to do it. He pouted, putting his hands together and locking his fingers into a prayer, begging you to say yes. You shook your head again, giving him back the note.
“What the hell are you two doing?” Tony asked, making the two of you jump in your seats.
He had been looking at the two of you for the past 5 minutes, he saw the rose as well, saw Peter begging you and you declining. He was standing by the table. This whole time you felt like you were in detention with Peter, and now that Tony caught you, the feeling got deeper. Neither of you said anything, staring at Tony in shock. And since you wouldn’t speak, Tony took the paper and laughed.
“I don’t think her boyfriend is gonna like that.”
“Her boyfriend?” Peter asked, looking at you.
“Yeah, she has a boyfriend.”
“I don’t think he’ll mind.” Peter continued.
“I definitely think he will.”
“No he won’t, he’ll be quite happy actually.”
“What is making you think that?”
“Because it’s me, I’m her boyfriend.”
You didn’t say a word the entire conversation. A few weird looks were shared between the three of you in complete silence. You felt like you wanted to die. Peter turned to stare at you, waiting for you to confirm it. Tony was staring at you too, unsure if this was real or another attempt of Peter’s to flirt with you. Then he laughed, Tony started laughing loudly and sincerely. He was laughing so hard you could see a tear running down his cheek. Peter whined, throwing his head back in frustration from his reaction.
“It’s true! Tell him!”
You gulped, looking at the still-laughing Tony.
“It is.” you almost whispered, hoping he wouldn’t hear you.
“Wait.” Tony stopped, looking at the two of you with furrowed brows. “Really?”
“Yeah.” you said, nodding softly.
The lights flashed softly as you walked in, blinding you for a second. You tried to walk in a straight line but the lights did not help you at all. You grabbed Peter’s arm for support, scared you would miss a threshold that had suddenly appeared out of nowhere and trip. Peter looked over at you in concern, thinking something had suddenly made you anxious. You looked at him as well, blinking rapidly, trying to adjust to the light changing all of a sudden. Your hand was holding his biceps, squeezing it softly. He placed his other hand on yours, patting softly. He stared at you until you nodded that you were okay now and you could continue walking. Of all the cringe things you were expecting to see tonight, a disco ball was definitely not on the list.
“Penis Parker with an actual date to prom? This will go down in history as the biggest plot twist!” You heard a somewhat familiar voice from behind you, turning around only to be faced with Flash.
“Oh, it’s that annoying guy.” You said, looking at Peter, who nodded in agreement.
“Wait, I know you, you were at my party once.”
“Unfortunately, yes, I was.”
“Why are you with that loser, ditch him, you should be my date instead.” Flash said, reaching a level of annoyance you didn’t even know existed.
“Sorry, I don’t do charity work on evenings but you can try the homeless kitchen in Queens on Saturdays and Tuesdays, I’m usually there to help on those days.” you told him as Peter wrapped his arm around your waist. “Plus we’re kind of already matching.” you pointed at Peter. “Your costume wannabe will clash with my dress and that’s a big no from me.”
Peter was trying his best not to laugh as you were absolutely destroying Flash verbally. It brought back memories from when you used to do the same with his attempts to flirt.
“Jesus Christ, I don’t want to know what kind of sado-maso sex you two freaks are having.”
“Did you just call me a sadist? I didn’t know you could read people so well, Flash!” you asked, looking at Peter for back up.
“Okay, that’s enough.” Peter said, pulling you closer to him and walking the two of you away. “That was brutal, can’t let you ruin his ego on his prom night!”
“Someone had to do it!” you whined, your hands crossing in front of your chest.
“We’re here to have a good time! Come on! Let’s dance and not think about Flash.”
“Remind me, how exactly did you convince me to come to this? I hated my own prom and I’m definitely hating yours too.”
“You want me to remind you?”
You nodded, his hands resting on each side of your hips as he looked at you. His forehead pressed against yours, placing a soft kiss on your cheek.
“Are you sure you want me to remind you here?” he whispered in your ear.
You nodded again, looking at him. Your arms still crossed on your chest.
“In front of all these people?” He asked with a fake shocked expression on his face, pulling your body closer. You rolled your eyes at him, his arms wrapping around you, chests pressed together.
Your heartbeat accelerated as you looked at him, faces inches away from each other. His hot breath glided across the skin on your face, making your eyes fall shut as his lips gently touched yours. His fingers dug into the soft skin on your back. You rested your hands on his chest as he kissed you, consciously trying not to ruin his suit by grabbing anything you shouldn’t. He wasn’t that careful tho, his other hands scrunching the fabric that was so perfectly wrapped around your waistline, in desperate attempts to feel your body closer to his.
“Did I remind you?” he asked, breath heavy as he broke the kiss seconds before.
“You basically just admit to seducing me into this.” you told him, your head resting on his shoulder as he rocked the two of you gently to the rhythm of the blues that was playing in the background.
“You can never just fall on your back, can you?”
“Never!”
The two of you laughed, him kissing your forehead as you continued swaying, wrapped in each other's embrace.

For You: Part VII
Part I | Part II | Part III | Part IV | Part V | Part VI | Part VII | Part VIII | Part IX
›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹
To say that the next week was hectic was to put it lightly. Peter didn't surface from the lab for anything - Not Aunt May (and her terrible lasagna that Peter loved so dearly), not Ned and MJ, not even for Bucky, who had taken to texting Peter fairly regularly with things like lunch requests or questions about pop culture.
(The man was, hilariously, Steve's opposite in that regard. He still didn't remember much of his time on ice, but he reveled in all of modern technology instead of simply trying to deal with it, which was Steve's approach. He and Peter had partaken in more than one text conversation that ended after 2 hours with, 'Steve's taking my phone because he says I'm becoming a zombie staring at the screen. I think he's just jealous because he doesn't understand modern…anything, really. I think he might be a himbo. Am I using that word right?')
No, Peter instead spent that time with Tony, having the longest, craziest, most wonderful lab binge of his life. His sleep schedule was royally messed up because of it, taking to just falling asleep at his desk or on the couch instead of going back up to the penthouse. He only got a few hours at a time like that anyway and it just didn't seem worth it to put an official pause on their work.
What was their work? Integrating Tony into everything.
He was already fully incorporated into the lab, that was easy enough after the confirmation of the program's success. But they made small tweaks to improve his core functioning systems, defined a few things, and Tony went from almost being Tony Stark to really being Tony Stark. The first day or two, the man had stilled unnaturally in a way that Tony just never had. He'd also not remember certain things, important things, until reminded of them.
"I have a daughter?" he'd asked, overwhelmed awe spread across his face. "I have a daughter!" He looked at Peter then, that same unfamiliar softness in his eyes. "I made you her godfather! Isn't Morgan just amazing?"
"Sorry, Mr. Stark," Peter grimaced at the perplexity on the other man's face. "Since Ms. Potts has been kind of…upset about the whole SI thing, I haven't been allowed to see her." And he'd tried, he really had. He wanted to know the little girl that was half Tony, who was his family in all but blood. But Pepper had responded to every request with a resounding 'no' and she was Morgan's mom, so she got the final say.
Tony had a look of determination on his face at that. "Yeah, we'll see about that."
But all those little issues had been flushed out in the first few days, and now they were working on incorporating his program into everything. Peter already wired him into the Spider-Man suit, tapped him into the tower's network architecture, and into the smart glasses the man had pointed out to him that were, apparently, never finished in the face of the Peter Project.
EDITH, he had called it, but based on all the features she had, Peter was mostly positive it was better that project was never finished. Peter kept the glasses, though, body having an all over shiver the first time he heard Mr. Stark's voice directly in his ear.
Now, they were putting the finishing touches on getting Tony wired into the penthouse, which had its own individual network infrastructure and security protocols. Having Friday helped with a lot of the grunt work, but there were some fine tuning things that Peter had to do to wrap it up.
"There!" he said, leaning back on his haunches as he slid the discreet panel back over the hidden network rack in the living room (carefully hidden behind tall, leafy vegetation he was vaguely sure was called a monster plant). "Okay, Fri-baby, fire it up, let him in."
"Are you sure, Mom?" Friday said, voice warm with humor. "Shouldn't guests knock first?"
"Your father is not a guest, dear," he joked back with her, loving the rapid way she grew with him. He was weirdly proud of her, seeing all these changes in behavior and temperament.
"If you say so."
And then - Tony.
Adding the holographic projection system was another touch Peter had to manually install, like with a drill and everything. It was absolutely worth the time spent crawling around on the ceiling when the man bloomed to life in front of him, craning his neck around to check out the apartment.
"Man, I forgot how bland this place was," he said, eyeing the all-white leather couch and black slate flooring of the sunken living room.
"Bland?" Peter asked, aghast. "This place is great!"
Tony gave him a look. "Kid, I know your taste runs to the science pun t-shirt side of the spectrum, but all black and white isn't exactly that much of a step up from beige."
Peter flushed. "I mean, it's simple but it's nice! And why did you even pick it if you didn't like it?"
"Oh," the older man responded, casually walking around the space. "I didn't. Hired some expensive decorator and told them to go crazy with it." He shrugged. "The lab was always my space, so I didn't really give a damn went on up here as much. Pep was the one to put the art and stuff up - which I see she took."
"Yeah, it was gone by the time I got up here, but not much else thankfully. And I guess that makes sense. The lab just…feels like you, Mr. Stark."
Tony gave him another look. "Kid, you've gotta start calling me Tony. It's cute when you say it, but since I'm essentially a ghost, I think we're past the point of titles."
"I mean," Peter said, struggling not to let all the blood in his body rush to his face at how enflamed he felt at Mr. Stark calling him cute. "If I'm only cute when I say it, I guess I have to keep it up, right, Mr. Stark?" He was falling far short of the playful retort he was going for, mostly because there was too much sincerity in the words.
"Pete, you're cute with or without the 'Mr. Stark' schtick," Tony chuckled casually, as though he wasn't uprooting Peter's entire existence right now.
"O-oh, okay." This was one of those things that made Tony differ from Mr. Stark and Peter had to say, he appreciated it. The openness and honesty, the lack of barrier he could always feel was there before. He wondered how much of it was anxiety and part of the physical pretense of being Tony Stark that made him that way, that he lacked now. Whatever it was, Peter liked it. "So, Tony."
"That's my name, kid," he winked, "don't wear it out."
Peter rolled his eyes. This was the Tony he was used to.
"But seriously," Tony continued, picking their previous conversation back up. "You should redo this place, liven it up a little! Some paint, new furniture, yada yada," he waved a hand around the room. "I've seen your bedroom, not to mention the apartment you shared with May - eclectic is in, and now you've got all the money in the world to make your space your own."
"I hadn't really thought about it like that," Peter said, walking over to where Tony's glowing blue form was. "It just - it feels so weird to change things in your house, you know?"
"Peter, and I say this sincerely," Tony said and yes his tone was playful but sincere nonetheless. "I never cared about how this place looked, it was a matter of convenience. It was a bed and a kitchen and a respectable place to have people over but that's about it. And it's your house now."
Peter furrowed his brow. "But the media center and the blankets and pillows - ?"
"Yeaaaaah," the man dragged out and turned to look over at the TV set up in question. "I may or may not have bought that after you mentioned wanting to binge Star Wars with me when you'd realized I hadn't seen all of them." He shrugged but the casual gesture was ruined by the side-eyed sincerity.
"You bought," Peter started, "an entire TV set up, surround sound, and game console just to watch TV with me?"
"Sure," the man shrugged again and Peter knew for a fact that his whole casual-whatever he was doing was put upon, but he didn't know how to call it out - or if he even wanted to.
What do you say when someone spends a few thousand grand on something because you mentioned it offhand in one conversation?
"Listen, kid," Tony sighed, looking over at him finally. "I told you I was too much and this is what I meant. I do - too much. Extravagant gifts and shit like," he waved his hand at the media center wall, "whole media center set ups and custom blankets without asking." He shrugged, and it was probably the first time Peter had ever seen the man truly awkward, for all that he fidgeted normally. "People've been telling me that my whole life but I just can't ever seem to break the habit." He sounded truly apologetic and that was the moment that Peter snapped.
"Stop," he said, voice firm, face rigid. Tony looked at him, chagrined, like a kid being told off after putting his hand in the cookie jar. "There is nothing wrong with you," Peter continued and watched as the man's glowing blue face snapped up at him in surprise. "Your love language is just gift giving, is all," he explained. "You show people you care by giving them things and I bet it's always things like this," he waved toward the media center. "Things they've mentioned or things you know they'll need or care about. Right?" Tony nodded, eyes wide behind his square framed glasses. "Then, there you go," he said, running out of the confident steam he'd been using for his little mini-rant. "You just want to give people you care about things to make their lives better or things they want or way to enjoy themselves better. There's nothing wrong with that. Sure, it can feel like a little much sometimes due to the expense of such things but at the same time - it's your money, you can afford it, so why not?"
The look on Tony's face clearly said that no one had spelled it out like that before and that he wasn't totally sure if he believed Peter.
Peter smiled, a little sadly. "Tony, if I had thought you were giving me things to make me in debt to you or buy my loyalty or something, I'd have turned them down. But it's obvious you don't, and why would I try and hurt you by being a dick about it?"
Tony cleared his throat. "I gotta say, kid, you're like the first person to not give a damn about it. It's always either people after my money, or people who think I'm trying to buy them with it. It's…refreshing."
"I mean," Peter said while he walked over to the large, squishy chaise side of the couch he liked. "It's not like I don't think about it? It's just - like I didn't grow up with a lot of money, right? And neither did my friends. And so when Ned or someone went out of their way to get me something it really meant a lot. And while you have the ability to probably buy a small country - " Tony laughed, " - that doesn't negate the fact that you put thought and energy into it just like anyone else would."
Tony sat down on the other side of the couch from him, their usual seats, and the normalcy of the action soothed Peter. He was starting to look past the faint blue glow of the other man and just see Tony.
"Thanks, kid," Tony said, looking over at him. "I mean that."
"I know you do," Peter smiled softly. He curled in on himself, snuggling into the cushions, wishing he had his movie blanket.
Tony's mind seemed to go the same direction. "Where's that blanket of yours?" he asked, craning his neck to look at the space where the basket of blankets and spare pillows for the living room used to be.
Peter sighed. "It was one of the things Ms. Potts took," he shrugged. "I haven't gotten around to replacing it yet."
The older man frowned. "You should have Friday do it," he finally said. "I didn't buy it, I crafted it out of the same textile I used to make Steve's stuff with." At Peter's look, he explained, "Capcicle has a similar texture issue that you do, senses cranked up a little under yours. Your first Spider-Man suit was made out of an off-shoot of the formula, but the base is perfect for blankets and things." He furrowed his brow, looking away, thinking. "Pepper knew that," he muttered to himself. "Fri? Get on that, will you?"
"You got it, Boss."
"Maybe she had them grab it by accident when she sent people up to get the artwork and stuff?" Peter pondered.
"Yeah, maybe," Tony agreed though he didn't sound convinced. "How about," he said instead of whatever seemed to be on his mind, "you go grab a blanket from somewhere and we watch something. You wouldn't believe how fast my brain runs now," he chuckled. "And I don't really sleep anymore, so being online and zoning out a little would be nice."
Peter smiled and agreed, stopping at the kitchen to pop a bag of microwave popcorn in before heading down the hallway. He paused by his room first before ultimately going to Tony's and grabbing the bundled up comforter. It was just so much softer than the one in the guest room, and it still faintly smelled like the other man. That wasn't too weird right?
Pushing back the anxiety in him that screamed, 'uh yeah it's weird he's going to call you out on it,' Peter walked back out to the living room and dumped it onto the couch. He tried to be casual about it, twisting on his heel to grab the popcorn and pour it into a bowl before coming back to the living room and snuggling down into the blanket.
He tried not to pay attention to the long, long look Tony gave him when the teen asked, "Anything you're in the mood for?"
After a moment, the older man said, "Fuck it, let's watch Star Wars again."

Outsiders Thoughts
Hi! Been a while since I've actually posted something, and I had the extreme honor of getting to see the Outsiders like 2 and a half months ago, and now that I've had more than enough time to process it I figured I would put down my thoughts! I'm going to start from the beginning, then keep going. Forgive the numerous parentheticals -- I absolutely loved this show and can't shorten my review. I had been listening to the cast album since it came out, looking at all the posts, hoping but never considering that I would actually be able to go. I got a gift of tickets to go with a friend and it was an AMAZING experience.
First thing's first -- important to note that I am not from New York, so Broadway culture in general is very interesting to me. Most shows I am lucky to see come on tour. It was very wild getting to see everyone's faces and the details on stage so clearly even from a mezzanine seat, something that isn't very normal for me and was awesome.
Anyhow, so I got in line with the person I went to see it with, put on all my bracelets I had made for the cast (I was kinda sad because both my Ace and Paul bracelets broke [several times haha] but what can you do) and went into the theater. That night we saw most of the original cast, except for Josh Strobl as Johnny (flawless-- I'll get to that later) and Milena Comeau as Ace (also fantastic). The ushers were really nice, and one of them complimented my outfit which made my night (among other things -- again, we'll get to that later). We sat down and listened to the music that plays before the show starts. I saw in a post by @throwing-in-the-towel that multiple songs play, but something must have been weird or it was on loop because I'm fairly certain I heard Jesus Was A Cross Maker about 10 times in a row (things happen!).
Anyhow now for the actual show where my thoughts will be more rambly
It was so cool to see Brody on the tire before the show started. No clue what he's writing in there, but he was QUITE focused on what he was writing. I could see people in orchestra trying to wave at him, which I think may have been kind of rude but I also don't know
anyway so the show started but there's no turn your phone off please, blah blah blah warning so it was kind of startling when it started, that's okay though because it definitely pulls you in
Tulsa 67
Tulsa 67 was just -- so amazing. I saw what I saw from watching the Tonys, but seeing the choreography in person was AMAZING. I constantly was hyperfocusing on one or two of the dancers (Especially Daryl Tofa and Milena) throughout the show which might have caused me to miss some things but I think that's okay because it was astonishing
Seeing the screen fade to Darry and Soda in the beginning made my heart drop into my stomach. I don't even know how to explain it. I wanted to cry 20 seconds into the show, because these characters felt so REAL
The introduction to Josh Strobl's Johnny was when I knew he was fantastic, just the way he carries himself is SO johnny. His voice was so sweet, I fell in love with the character that I loved so much in the book all over again.
The scene where Bob and the Socs beat up Ponyboy felt kind of like BAM because it's not something I expected to see right after the opening number. That being said, it makes sense plot-wise so it worked. Kevin William Paul as Bob was so Menacing (the capital was intentional) like he TRULY hated greasers. It's hard to sympathize with a guy like that -- kinda wish they showed more about how his heart could be "good" but also understand why they didn't. First act is pretty much solely Ponyboy's perspective.
Grease Got A Hold
LOVED the introduction to all the characters. They seemed so genuine, Jason and Brent have such amazing chemistry as stage brothers, and Daryl as Two-Bit was hilarious.
His like cracking up for a solid 10 seconds before he says "got one of their hubcaps"
was a little sad at the reducing of Steve as a character, but also I get it in terms of the plot -- it doesn't change the story much.
the choreography in grease got a hold is so good. Truly. with all the gravel everywhere, truly adds to the grittiness of the show. I knew how it looked partially because of the performances that are on youtube and from the tonys, but the way they make use of the set is so cool
Josh Boone's stage presence as Dally is unmatched. Seriously. Get this man a Tony. I'll get to more of this later, but wow. And his riffs in Grease Got A Hold. don't even get me started.
daryl's delivery of "you better bet your life" is different from the cast recording but in SUCH a good way.
I always love the part that's a-capella with the claps because it reminds me of come from away. can't really explain it, it just does and I love it
everyone making fun of Darry when he sings his verse -- cracked me up
Also jason schmidt -- just wow. what a performance. he has such a hold on you (if you'll forgive the pun) the moment you see him because I feel like you can tell that he's so much more than an airhead/flirt/etc. from the get-go. jason's portrayal of him is so perfect.
how physically affectionate the gang seems with each other
Runs in the Family
someone give brent comer a tony
no seriously he was fantastic. there isn't much movement in the song, but you don't need it. you can feel his pain. his frustration. they could never make me hate Darrel Shaynne Curtis
AND HIS VOICE. actually my favorite in the entire show
when the gang comes in and Ace is like "hey Darry got any chocolate cake", and the gang is all scooching together with big old smiles on their faces watching tv while Darry's scrubbing the kitchen
all of darry and pony's interactions are laced with so much tension, it's palpable. and darry's inherent mistrust of dally is very real
that being said -- dally is A LOT nicer in the musical. like no way would he hug pony and johnny in the book, or outwardly say how much he cared about them, even if you know that's how he felt. I do like how he's portrayed here but it is very different.
Great Expectations
love the whole scene beforehand
the 544 pages thing cracks me up
they all have such good brotherly chemistry, but I also feel like Jason Schmidt could have chemistry with a brick wall -- seems like he is the reason the brothers all mesh so well together
when they all look up at the train sound -- ahhh
Now for the song -- WHOA
okay so I was obsessed with the song when it came out, but after listening to it many many times I got kind of less excited about it. HOWEVER. Seeing and hearing great expectations live was an out-of-body experience. The harmonies! The high notes! The fact that Two-Bit and Ace look like they're floating. I truly can't put into words how beautiful that scene is.
the scene with Dally and Johnny made me cry, a little, but that's not hard to do lol
feel like this is poor theatre etiquette because I am like 99 percent sure you are not supposed to laugh when Johnny's like "I think he might kill her" but people were laughing and I was like seriously?!
the amazing chemistry between josh boone dally and josh strobl johnny. never seen sky but I hear his and josh boones chemistry is fantastic as well. josh strobl feels so ethereal as johnny. don't know if I'm explaining it right, but his voice is so sweet, he really feels like a kid.
the way Johnny physically pushed Dally away from going into his house, curling into himself afterwards, and how sad Dally looks after that
Friday at the Drive-In
I love emma pittman. i will probably say this several times. her stage presence is remarkable.
choreography was stellar as always
two-bit and steve seemed like on visibly hostile terms with Paul. like paul kept whispering to the other soc boys and looking back at two-bit and steve, and they kept being like Paul! paaaauuul! it was very entertaining
love the dynamic of the Soc girls. Cherry is so joyful, Marcia just looks happy to be there, and Bev is there with her happy snappy smile while she's looking at all the greasers like they're dirt
Ngl i'm kinda bored of writing thoughts for every song and I've been working on this post for a month lol so I'm just gonna give basic thoughts
two-bit's scream in justice for tulsa absolutely broke me. every time I think about it -- same effect.
at the second great expectations bit in far away from tulsa I started crying, it was so beautiful and I knew it was coming but like! the power in those voices!
Little Brother is probably my favorite scene in the entire show. josh boone's grief as dally is SO palpable -- and the background vocals also made me cry.
In the scene before stay gold soda genuinely looked like he was having a panic attack and darry and pony both looked so scared
I did not know how much I needed josh strobl singing stay gold
in the cast album I can't hear it as well, but live I heard the gorgeous harmony by daryl and brody for "everybody loves to judge us" and I may be wrong but daryls part of the harmony sounds almost exactly like the tune for "they say there's strength in numbers" in great expectations. do with that as you will
SO yeah the show defied my expectations, it was brilliant, I was in tears by the end, but we left our seats as soon as it ended because we were in the mezzanine and I wanted to get a spot at the stagedoor. The cast were so kind and genuinely gracious and excited to talk to the people at the stagedoor (including me). I wish I had said more but I was kind of starstruck -- I gave the cast the bracelets that I had made. The people that came out that night were kevin William paul, Kevin csolak (this was when he was still in the show!), melody , josh strobl, sarahgrace, emma , brent comer, daryl tofa, milena and jason . their reactions to the bracelets were so sweet! Emma did a little dance with hers, lol, and you can see it for a split second on one of her vlogs which was so cool to see after the fact. kwp was so kind, he complimented my magen david necklace and I believe I melted. Daryl was there but I missed him -- sg was signing my playbill and I was talking to her so he moved on the the next person and kept going -- which makes sense! I was so glad to see him though and he seemed really happy. I gave the rest of the bracelets I made to emma who said she would give them to the cast members who didn't come out (thank you emma!).
BUT
The next day, my grandmother and I won the suffs lottery and got to go see that show (which I'll post about later) and I got out to stagedoor there while the outsiders stagedoor was in full swing across the street. people were SCREAMING. The suffs cast had some guests come in so they didn't come out so early on, so I was like, why don't I cross the street, see if I can thank/express my awe to some cast members I didn't get to meet last night while I wait for the suffs cast to come outside. AND I DID! I got to meet josh boone, who I extolled my highest praise to (I was probably babbling lol) and he was SO KIND, and I met daryl tofa and we had a fun conversation about friendship bracelets and took a picture which was amazing. Fully did not expect that that was going to happen that night.
Long story short the outsiders is amazing and definitely one of my favorite musicals ever with such a sweet and talented cast. go see it if you can!

Random thoughts about Pit Babe the series Ep 9:
This episode was packed with many information and twists. I'm never bored when I watch this series.
▪️ First of all, let's talk about Babe. I felt for him so much in this episode. The betrayal he had to feel when he learnt about Way being the Enigma, hiding his work for Tony and basically lying from the very beginning. Babe really saw Way as his best and most trusted friend. It was hard to watch. I have to admit, I never watched Pavel in another series before, but I admit he really know how to cry. He do it beautifully. It's weird to say it this way, but I hope it's understandable. It must be really hard when you can't trust anyone. I'm sad for Babe. He quoted all the people who betrayed him and Charlie is quite lucky that he didn't say his name. Even if I like them together and think they are a cute couple, Charlie took his sweet time to tell the truth to Babe. Thankfully, Babe really loves him and I don't doubt that Charlie loves him back but he hasn't been trustful from the beginning either.
▪️ Charlie had many opportunities to use Babe's gift in this episode. I like how he was the one who had to deal with the consequences before the race. He can now fully understand what Babe was living before. I also found that so sweet how Babe came to me and was so lovable with him. I appreciate all the fluff and domestic vibes they have together. However, I wish Charlie was better at learning from his past mistakes. He told Babe he would tell him the truth but he is still hiding things from him. I wanna talk about when Jeff told him about his vision and they made a plan together but they haven't told anyone else about it. It's again going to break Babe's heart and as much as I find Pavel pretty when he is crying, I think Babe had enough sorrow. He doesn't need to cry more.
▪️ Jeff and Alan... We got robbed again! Yes, they had their little cute moment and it seems that Alan understand now that he has feeling for Jeff (thanks to the love matchmakers that are Sonic and North, they may be bad at rescuing people but at least they are better at being love gurus). I melted a little bit when Jeff called himself "Alan's boy". I thought they would kiss right at that moment... but no! It's frustrating! You like each other, time to have some action.
▪️ I understand now why Pete called Kenta, Ken. It's because he is "buying/saving" all those kids. They may have met this way. It is not said in the series but I haven't found a better explanation. Babe learnt from him that he is actively trying to convict Tony. He also knows him (it seems almost every character is Tony's son now which hilarious) and is the second Enigma. I hope he'll succeeded in his mission but also that he will save Way.
▪️ Now, we need to say something about Way... Of course, he was the second Enigma and he also tried to sexually assaulted Babe. I never liked him but for the first time I felt pity for him. What he did was terrible and there is no excuses. However, I feel like he has a lot of self-loathing. He was threatened by Tony. Way is afraid of him and when you're living in such bad environment it's hard to act rightly. We also learnt that he was homeless before Tony took care of him. I don't know what is going to be his redemption arc but I hope he'll get it. He seems so miserable. Tony is just so toxic. I felt like it was a miracle that Babe, Charlie, Pete or Jeff are not more f****d up in the head because of it. I don't know, I feel like Way could have turned differently.
▪️ We got nothing from Kenta or Kim and I'm starting to think that it is not meant to be. Also, what is Kenta's deal?! He seems to not really be on board with what Tony is doing but at the same time he is doing his work. I need answers!
▪️ Dean is also back in the team? Can we really trust him? I'm not sure. Especially after seeing the trailer.
▪️ By the way, why is Charlie always loosing?! He got special ability and he was trained by Babe. You need to do better Charlie! I wish he won this race. I'm stressed now with what I saw on the trailer.
I can't wait to be next Friday.

Do you plan on making the talk ur talk universe a trilogy? If you do, then YAYYY MORE FAMOUS NICO, and if you don't, then YAYY I HAVE A NEW FAVORITE AUTHOR
this is HILARIOUS bc i was actually DEEPLY CONSIDERING IT. like. just a few weeks ago. see the thing was i made this playlist, and i was super into it, and i was like, well shit, i already have the rest of this outlined- would i be willing to go on further???
i'll give the gist of it here: basically a majority of the first fic was around the start of his career. this fic is centered around this one album that will come out in a long long time toward the end of the fic + the seven memoir.
the third fic WOULD (heavy emphasis on would bc i'm still not so sure abt it) be centered around the egot.
in case you don't know what that is, it's basically like this prestigious thing where you've won an emmy (tv shows), grammy (music), oscar (movie), tony (musical theatre)
i once responded to this comment on talk ur talk asking whether i was intending on nico ever achieving egot status and i said no, because i don't really see him straying too far from what he's doing rn - he writes music because he loves it, and for the art, not for the prestige, but that i could definitely see apollo getting an egot sometime in the future bc i had mentioned him already having an emmy, grammy, and oscar, so he would just have a tony left and lets be real he would slay on broadway
but then i got into this mini hyperfixation on - if nico were to ever receive egot status - how would he do that?? grammy's are a given, and i went down this rabbit hole for how he could win the others, sticking to the fact that he adamantly refuses to act
oscar would be easy, best original song - something like "no time to die" by billie eilish (which won the award) or "yellow flicker beat" by lorde are movie songs that i 100% think he could write
for the emmy's there's an award for like best documentary pop culture or something like that (i can't find the doc where i put all this in but trust that i did the research at some point) which he could def do, or something that like he collaborated with apollo for - a documentary of some sort
and here's where the mini hyperfixation came in - the tony. now here's the thing i don't actually know a lot abt musical theatre. i was in like two musicals in middle school and that's it. so i did a deep dive on all the musicals that have won tony's, listened to a few soundtracks, found out that the lightning thief got TOTALLY SNUBBED???
and then fell down the hadestown rabbithole
so i'll just leave this info right here - i gave so much detail bc i'm still not rlly sure if i ever want to go into this?? simply bc i *do* know quite a bit abt pop music/production from watching videos and documentaries and stuff, but i'm really not a musical theatre person. so.
we'll see if this ever actually becomes a thing, because i know that greatest of luxuries covers a huge timespan and i'll likely be working on this for *quite* a long time, and we'll see how much motivation i would have to continue it after this! if nothing else, i think i would def go back into the universe from time to time to write little oneshots just bc of how this au has become such a huge part of my lifesjdf
aside from that, THANK YOU SO SO MUCHSDKF <333 i definitely intend to continue writing more solangelo even after talk ur talk is over, i have *so* many other au ideas and wip's that maybe i'd finally get a chance to start once talk ur talk isn't consuming so much of my time!! (not in a bad way, i truly do love writing it) <3 thank you for the ask!!
oh also, bonus note: even if i do end up ending talk ur talk after greatest of luxuries, it most definitely won’t be the end of famous nico!! i love me some fame au’s and wouldn’t be able to be stopped from writing them even if i tried😭 id likely just try out a different form of a fame au at some point, like my actor!nico and country singer!will fic based on so american which i swear is still in progress im working on it it’ll get there !!!

A Walk Through My Year in Media
This isn't necessarily things that came out this year, but rather things that I watched/read this year that I liked or compulsively consumed regardless of whether or not I liked them.
2023 in Films
Most of this post is going to be positivity; a sampling platter of things I've enjoyed this year. But also:
Salty Film Hot Takes:
The French Connection is uncomfortable to watch. I don't care about the racist, antisemitic, misogynist cop. He's objectively bad at his job make him go away.
None of the Next Generation era trek movies are good.
Guardians 4 would have been a better movie if Pratt wasn't in it. And I mean that in a "the script would be better structured" way.
Se7en is a really fun film and I'm not mad to have rewatched it recently but... it's undermined by 1) the writers not realising that John Doe's opinions are bog standard right wing talk radio shit, 2) the fact that they kind of agree with him and 3) they clearly, hilariously, don't know what lawyers do.
The Mummy (2017) is awful. I guess that's not controversial but still.
Robin Hood (2018) is also awful. Like, amazingly so. And, slightly warmer take, so is Prince of Thieves you guys.
I will not be answering questions on any of the above.
Positive Film Hot takes:
I went on a bit of an 80s dark fantasy kick this year. Out of films that I hadn't seen before, The Dark Crystal and The Last Unicorn really stood out. Especially the Dark Crystal. I ended up rewatching the show as well. Just so good. Bring it back. Justice for the gelflings.
I also watched a lot of Terry Gilliam this year - not all of his back catalogue but most of it. Obviously Jabberwocky is almost entirely bad, no one needs to be told, but overall yeah you get why he's beloved. The common vibe from his films is "wow there's so much to love here but it doesn't quite work". Brazil is an obvious standout - it's a classic for a reason. But I want to highlight The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. Behind the scenes disaster and orientalist opening sequence aside, it really is spectatular. The sets, the details. It's so well crafted and just makes you wish they made films like this all the time. Damn you, Terry.
The 1938 Robin Hood film is the best Robin Hood film. Yes, congratulations, you noticed another theme in the shit I've watched this year. But yes, it's great, it's fun and well paced. It holds up staggeringly well. I also watched The Court Jester (1955 - with Danny Kaye and Angela Lansbury) - Also surprisingly great.
Finally, also feeling medieval, I watched Excalibur (1981). This is more "swords and sorcery" than "dark fantasy" (think: Conan the Barbarian vibes), but it's kinda great (most of the genre is not, lbr). It captures the logic of those stories, the vibes of the mythology very well, the mix of pagan and early christian beliefs, and the weird metaphysics that results. It's great. Way better than that dumb clive owen one. My lord that was bad.
2023 in Telly
Live Action Drama:
Tumblr media
Succession
It's good. I don't think anyone needs me to tell them that. Still haven't finished it but enjoying it in a peaceful, fandom-free way.
Robin Hood (2006)
This was a terrible show, with an even worse third and final series. Did I rewatch the whole thing anyway? Yes I did. Should I have? No. (I love the first two so much though. Lily Allen's dad as the sheriff of Nottingham as tony blair? sign me up.)
Doctor Who
Am I a basic bitch who only came back to who because RTD did? Yes. But at least I'm not quite as basic as the ones who were only back for Tennant. The first one was good, if a little on the nose, the second was great, the third was good up until they get onto the stupid avengers platform for the showdown, from which point me and everyone in the room just got mad at it. The christmas special was fun though, excited for Gatwa and the new series.
Adult Animation:
Tumblr media
Castlevania: Nocturne
assajhdaskjhfksjdfhlsdjaghljdsghaj
Genuinely so great. It's very clear that they're setting up a whole multi season arc with this first season, and the incompleteness that comes with that is probably its biggest flaw. But overall, fucking fabulous. The animation, fights, character design. Just a gorgeous show. Maybe not to everyone's taste; it's fantasy, but not escapist - its very much rooted in the historical injustices of the setting and has some heavy themes as a result. But if you liked the first Castlevania show, then you'll probably love this.
Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix
You might have noticed that there was a show out that featured "Rayman, but with drugs and cussing!" and, yes, this is that show. You might not have noticed that Rayman is only a small part of it, and it's actually about Dolph - a traumatised gay cyborg - and his no good, horrible, very bad breakup. Dolph is great.
Star Trek: Lower Decks
Do you like Star Trek? Do you like silly cartoons and workplace sitcoms? Then do I have the show for you. Real highlight of the year for me tbh. While the show is built on poking fun at trek canon, and can feel a little overly reliant on nostalgia sometimes, the latest season really pushed for more meaningful character moments in between the laughs. I like it. It's good.
Mononoke
This was the most mixed of mixed bags. Japanese horror with a really striking and confronting art style. At its best, it's got this visceral atmosphere that sucks you in and is genuinely fantastic. At its worst, it's got a whole storyline about "abortion ghosts", and features some art that comes across as racial caricature. Between this, and a few other things that felt uncomfortable in an unintentional way, I don't think I'd really recommend this, but it did stick with me, I'll give them that.
YA Animation:
Tumblr media
The Dragon Prince
If you're into the whole YA fantasy adventure thing, this is an obvious rec. It's biggest flaw is how slow it's been to release, but if you're binging it for the first time, that's not a problem. It's heartfelt, it's pretty, it's clearly a kids show but is well crafted and has appeal beyond its core audience.
Star Trek: Prodigy
S1 actually originally aired like two years ago, but I only watched it this year after finding out that it was cancelled. But it was rescued! S1 is now on netflix, and s2 will air there next year. Genuinely a really fun contribution to the whole trek shebang, fitting into the universe well without ever feeling reliant on nostalgia.
I didn't include the two other treks that aired this year because s3 of Picard sucked balls (still not over it) and Strange New Worlds has stopped appealing to me... but that's a whole thing for the other blog. But the animated series are great! Also Disco. I still like Discovery.
Skull Island
This was better than it had any right to be. One season of a surprisingly funny King Kong show, also on Netflix.
Reality:
Tumblr media
Rupaul's Drag Race UK Season 5
DRUK is good again, hooray. The dark times are over... for now.
Married at First Sight UK
Do not watch this. It will consume your entire life. Your brain will melt away as you watch someone fake cheat on their fake husband with someone else's fake husband just days into their fake marriage.
Taskmaster
It's good. It's been good. It continues to be good.
2023 in Gaming
Lol no. Can you imagine?
I did play the sims a lot. I had my guy cheat on his husband who then died.
2023 in Books
Fun fact: I only finished one of the books I intended to read this year. That's embarrassing. Anyway, it was "From Here to Eternity" by Caitlin Doughty (yes, the Ask a Mortician lady). It's great.
2023 in Comic Books
Orlando
This has really been Steve Orlando's year for me. I was thinking about what series I would include on a highlight list, and his Scarlet Witch was the only obvious answer for me. Sara Pichelli's art in that series is gorgeous - I love the way she draws Wanda. The writing is solid, compelling, tells a complete story. If I were to recommend any one series from this year, it would be this.
His Astonishing Iceman was also up there for me, and I will also repeat that the Mutant First Strike one shot he wrote was genuinely great. Kudos, Steve.
Gillen
Kieron Gillen's Immortal X-Men is easily one of the best to come out of the Krakoa era, and this year was no exception. I didn't really care about the Sins of Sinister event, and I care even less about the Fall of X event, so it really means something that I'm still including this series here despite it being dominated by these events. The issue with Piotr's narration has been my favourite, I think. But overall, still strong. I really hope he gets to continue writing these characters (especially Exodus and Sinister) in the future.
Other Positivity
Ewing's Black Panther series is really solid, Avengers (2023) has been pretty good. Dark X-Men was probably my actual favourite of the Fall of X titles.
Negativity
Lol I already said I didn't like the x-events. I also hated cold war. Such a waste of an opportunity. Speaking of, a lot of my comics-based salt and frustration this year has been about Sam. The way that he gets written out of things, ignored, then he turns up and his written badly and goes straight back to being ignored again. Then Marvel turns to the camera and is like "why would audiences do this?".
Put the fucking effort in and more people would show up for him. It's not that hard.
There's my overall annoyance with Duggan, which is a freebie, but one highlight of that has to be the bizarre direction they went with Kamala. No one wanted this, no one needed it, and certainly nobody needed the weird gleeful "killing" of this character just to launch a pointless plot beat that feels both offensive (see: Emma lecturing Kamala about not understanding real oppression) and is inexplicably happening during a whole massive event that feels like it should be about other characters.
The end...?
I don't want to keep listing things that annoyed me this year, because it'll just get repetative. If you follow me (which, if you don't, why are you reading this?), then you'll see me complaining about random crap all the time anyway.
Have a good NYE everyone!

a blast from the past?
As much as there are flaws to blogging, I'm so glad it exists because I don't have the patience for handwritten diaries. Electronic blogging lets me revisit my posts years down the track like a time capsule.
So back before the first Avengers movies came out, the characters I found the most interesting were Tony and Loki. I enjoyed the Avengers, because these two guys were the focus of the show. It's interesting that I said this in my review:
If anything, I thought the most slighted hero of the lot was Captain America. Played with blue-eyed sincerity (daheck?) by Chris Evans, he's just so unbending that in a pool of quirky characters he gets overlooked. But it's nice to see him take command in the end, the way he should.
So if I, a non-Steve fan whose impression of Steve at the time was bland, complained about Steve being even more overlooked and bland in the movie...I can only imagine what it felt like to be a Steve fan going in.
(Snip for length - comments about Cap movies under cut)
I didn't even write a review for the first Cap movie, presumably because I watched it pirated and couldn't see enough in the blurry pixelation to leave an impression XDDD I'm not even sure I watched it before the Avengers, although I did watch it before Cap 2 because I said this for the CATWS review:
Personally I thought Captain America was a weaker outing for Marvel. Something about him just didn't quite connect with me, and while the underlying message echos with anyone who had ever been bullied, the rushed and perfunctory 3rd act left behind a generally sour taste. Added to that, while all of the characters were cheerfully likeable, none of them were all that memorable.
(Huh so I guess I didn't like Peggy as much as I thought I once did.)
I did love Captain America 2 though, although according to my own review I said "I actually garbled a lot about this after watching it yesterday, so I'm in a bit of a word-drought regarding it."
My only disappointment is that I feel I still don't have a grip on Steve's character. He's selfless, yes, but he also has very personal attachments. It won't be the first or second time he's run after Bucky into danger. But at the same time he's also the person who can detachedly tell his comrades that he was going to 1) crash his ship, 2) shut off the space portal with Iron Man still stuck outside or 3) bomb the ship he's still on. I feel there's some sort of conflict in this, that in crisis he can make these noble, difficult and somewhat emotionless decisions - and yet he seems very much driven by compassion and emotion.
I'm sure my 2014 me will be delighted to know that I've figured it out by 2021 that 1) Steve loves Bucky and 2) Whedon doesn't get Steve and 3) Steve still loves Bucky XDDDD
I ended with this, which I will include because it's hilarious how the wheel turns:
I think the Winter Soldier could have been more, yet at the same time I don't think they could have fit any more without slowing the pace down too much. I hope this is addressed in the next movie because it would make up for what's lacking in this movie - the dynamic between Cap and Winter Soldier, the tragedy and disbelief and the see-sawing between trust and mistrust that made the Thor-Loki dynamic so magnetic. The Winter Soldier was a terrifying menace, and Sebastian Stan did bring a hint of vulnerability in the rare moments that his character was exposed, but there was not much more. That said, the Steve-Bucky bromance is probably the least convincing of all I've seen. Oddly, the Steve/Sam dynamic is the most natural brothers-in-arms of the lot.
The irony of fate aside, to a degree I still agree with it. For a relationship that defined a large chunk of Steve's character, and almost the entirety of Bucky's existence, their onscreen interactions were very, very limited in CATWS (and now with the view of hindsight, in the entirety of the series). Sebastian Stan was given such a short length of time (compared to Loki) to work through the shock and betrayal and grief and horror of Bucky waking up to the reality what he had been turned into. While Bucky was effective as a narrative foil for Steve, the actual buildup of their relationship was patchy at best, and a lot of what we do have now is by filling in the large blanks in between brief moments of tenderness we do see.
I do wonder about the comment about "bromance" though. In reflection, I wonder if the Steve-Bucky bromance was least convincing because it was so...exceedingly devoted and magical (breaking spells of brainwashing and all that). As someone who gets squicked by watching sappy romcoms, the end of the line scene(s) tripped all sorts of wires and I think I was reacting to that. It felt more than a bromance, and that was why it was less convincing. Sam/Steve felt like good bros, Steve/Bucky...something else entirely.
And wow yeah did I have hopes for a better Cap 3 movie, even though I wasn't a Cap fan.

FIC REC WEEK 1 – STONY FAVORITES
AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: Annie D (scaramouche)
Annie D is a fandom treasure, honestly. Not only is their writing style amazing, but the stories they come up with make me want to just roll around in their brain and soak up the creativity. In a completely chill way, of course.
Here's some of their work that I think you should check out:
The Love Spell
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: G Words: 16,054 Tags: Getting Together, Light-Hearted, Humor
Summary: Tony wakes up in love with Steve. This is an alarming turn of events, because he wasn’t in love with Steve when he fell asleep the night before. That said, it’s sort of nice? To be in love? He’s enjoying it, anyway.
Reasons why I love it: Tony just tears at my heart-strings in this one. Not because the fic is especially angsty or sad, but because he's so goddamn relatable. I love the way Steve is portrayed in this too, how supportive and caring he is. This fic encompasses a lot of the reasons why I love Stony so much. Definitely give this one a read!
Not a Breakup
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: E Words: 33,531 Tags: Friends With Benefits, Feelings Realization, Miscommunication
Summary: Tony knew it was a bad idea to start sleeping with Steve. It could mess up team dynamics, make things even more awkward between them in the future, or just plain get in the way of their trying to save the world. Tony foresaw all of the above but not the advent of feelings, and at the most inopportune moment.
Reasons why I love it: I really, really love how Annie D manages to make the smut in this incredibly hot, hilarious and sweet, all at the same time. Sleep-deprived Tony is so much fun, and his exhaustion being the catalyst for this whole thing with Steve? Love it. Miscommunication is one of my favorite tropes, and the way it's done in this fic feels very natural. All in all an amazing fic that you don't want to miss!
A Late-Night Snack, and Other Good Ideas
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: E Words: 12,117 Tags: A/B/O, Heat Cycles, Alpha Steve / Omega Tony
Summary: Steve's heightened senses means that he always knows when Tony's in heat. One night, he finally does something about it.
Reasons why I love it: Their banter in this is just fucking amazing. And I could cut the sexual tension with a knife, which makes it all the more satisfying when it finally implodes. Plus, I'm always a fan of Steve Rogers Is Not A Virgin, so yeah, this ticks a lot of boxes. Definitely give this one a read if you like A/B/O.
Overhaul
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: E Words: 18,783 Tags: Getting Together, Unrequited to Requited, Character Study
Summary: Steve knows that Tony has feelings for him and, since he doesn’t return those feelings, has been mildly dreading the day that Tony decides to do something about it. When that day finally arrives, Steve discovers that Tony’s wooing strategy isn’t anything at all like he’d expected.
Reasons why I love it: This story gave me so many Tony feels, and then hit me out of nowhere with an equal amount of Steve feels. It's such a fantastic take on their characters, with truly amazing dialogue. If I could take a pen and underline all my favorite parts, every second sentence would be underlined. It's that good. Definitely a must-read!
There's an App for That
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: T Words: 17,439 Tags: No Powers, Romantic Comedy, Mild Angst with a Happy Ending
Summary: Thanks to the modern gig economy, Steve is the successful owner of a break-up service, i.e. people pay him to break up with their partners for them. One day, he gets the first break-up request for Tony Stark.
Reasons why I love it: The concept for this is honestly so cool. I've never read another fic quite like it, and I don't think anyone could do it better than Annie D does it here. It's fun and light-hearted for the most part, but when it hits deep, it hits hard. I love all of it, the happy getting-to-know-each-other parts as well as the angsty-punch-in-the-gut parts. The way they end up together feels so natural, it's all really well written. Definitely check this one out!
Stuck in a...
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: E Words: 13,005 Tags: A/B/O, Mating Cycles, Alpha Steve / Omega Tony
Summary: Steve gets into a serum-enhanced rut. Tony figures that there’d be a long list of people who’d volunteer to help Steve out, but there’s only one person Steve wants.
Reasons why I love it: Steve almost losing his mind because he wants Tony so much but holding himself back to protect him? Um, yes, please. This fic executes the hormone-riddled alpha trope flawlessly, and the conclusion is hot as hell. Plus, omega Tony is a complete delight. I'd recommend this fic to anyone who likes A/B/O.

Hey so I'm interested in knowing more about Oh Coffee Boy. Like what's the plotline and how'd you come up with it. (◠‿・)—☆
YAAAY, an OCB ask!! 🥹❣️I appreciate your interest, love! 💞
This is a bit long, so buckle up lol. 🤠
I came across a post here on Tumblr a few years ago (on an different account). @one-time-i-dreamt, to be exact, where people submit dreams that they've had. I can't find the exact post, but I wrote it down in my notebook to never forget lol:
"I got hired for a job at McDonald's in the next town over, but I took a wrong turn & ended up at a maid cafe themed McDonald's instead. 'The manager was like, 'Well, we can just transfer you to this store since you're here and we're understaffed.' They called up the store I was going to work at without asking if I wanted to transfer."
I thought that'd make a hilarious plot line for a show, and it's like the great Toni Morrison said, "If there's a book you want to read and it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it." Even tho this will be an animated series, the point remains!
My goal is to make mainly Black (girl) joy stories where brown & dark-skinned Black girls are the leads in multiple fun genres like rom-com, adventure, fantasy, etc. And because I'm an introvert, most of my MCs end up being so as well. In the beginning, the idea was for a slice of life about an introverted Black girl finally working up the courage to get a job after years of social anxiety (gotta make it hit home a bit lol). Thought it'd be a really cute SOL, but never really added onto it.
Fun fact! My grandmother and brother argue every morning. I kid you not. It's always because my grandmother loves coffee. So he makes her a cup of coffee every morning. The problem? She doesn't always finish it.... usually never. But what she will do is NOT care about it until it gets cooler. And then ask him to heat it up for her multiple times throughout the day! 🙃 So big bro complains about it. When my mom was in the hospital, we told the nurse about how grandma is with coffee. Gave her a good laugh when I put the stubborn woman on speaker so she could hear firsthand how it was the first thing she mentioned. 😂
Now, at some point, we starting calling my brother "coffee boy". My mother rarely drinks coffee, and usually drinks tea. At some point, he basically declared "If I'm coffee boy, then you're tea girl", so now he always makes the two of them coffee when they want it while I'm over their tea lol. The funniest thing about it is that mama rarely wants tea, but grandma always wants coffee. 😭At one point, I started dramatically singing "Oh, coffee boy" like the song "Oh, danny boy". And then it clicked! Like magic! ⭐ The title, the main character, his household. My family thought I was CRAZY when I ran upstairs and started writing it out lol. But yeah, those two are the inspo behind OCB! ☕As well as the dreamer who submitted that dream, of course (s/o to you, whoever you are! ✌🏾)
Tumblr media
Just realized that I've never really made a summary/bio for this show LOL. Basically, Akachi is a guy in his early 20s who lives with his grandparents who he helps manage a barn with. He hates coffee, a drink he's forced to make every morning for his coffee-loving grandmother. Not only is it disgusting (which my brother also thinks lol), but his grandmother never finishes it. When Akachi takes an Uber to show up to his new job in the city, he shows up at the right restaurant, but the wrong location! Before he can object, however, he's transferred to the understaffed MegDonald's branch (spelled intentionally lol). Turns out Akachi is not only a great chef, but a coffee-making expert that has all of their customers coming in for a cup.... much to his dislike. To top it off, his co-workers are incredibly goofy and cosplay every day! Will the boy survive working at this new job?
Thank you for this ask again, really appreciate your interest in Oh, Coffee Boy! 🥰Writing it is so much fun, hope it'll be even more fun to watch! ❣️

Wow, that was such a sweet ending. I can't believe we're here now. and guess what YOU DID IT! you finished a whole series so huge congratulations! That's not an easy feat. I'm proud of you!
Tony being dramatic with Pocket moving out as if she is going to move to another country only to find out it's just a couple blocks away? Hilarious. Also the umbilical cord line was so so funny. I'm glad for this fresh start though! Pocket absolutely needs it.
And here's me thinking "Where the hell is, Bucky?" and well there he is! So happy to see them be in such a better place now and I'm glad they were able to go to couples counseling and truly got to work on themselves. It might be rare but it's not impossible for couples to work out even after similar events that Bucky and Pocket have fone through. And well, they've grown a bond so strong with what they went through and I truly believe they're going to be better and healthier than before. I know there's going to be more of these two but for now, I will miss the shenanigans they'll get up to. Especially now that they've got their own place to christen hahaha those poor neighbors, doesn't matter if they're a whole floor down. They're going to hear it no matter what.
What a journey this has been. As I said, I've got all my reports compiled into one document. Would you believe me if I said I've written a total of 19k words from all these essays I've sent you? Insane, I tell you. I absolutely don't regret it one single bit. I enjoyed this ride so much, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'll try and keep up with the future installments, sequels, and your other series (which has peaked my interest ngl) But with school and work, I'll try my best. I'll for sure pop in here whenever i can though. Until then, I'll see you around! Lots of Love!
— Jnon 🤍
WE did it, Jnon! All of us, together!
Although, if people ask what my Greatest Life Accomplishment is, I'm gonna say "oh, that book I wrote." I will *not* say it was Bucky Barnes fanfic smut; just a book, lol. Actually, lemme go check that off my Bucket List rn...
Tumblr media
(Actual photo of my Bucket List. Please ignore the fact I used Papyrus. It was 2014, and yes, I was still old enough to know better.)
I loved the idea of Tony acting like Pocket moving out was the biggest affront to him that could be made. In the original draft, Bucky and Pocket were going to be going at it on the balcony like the touch-starved rabbits they were, and then Tony was going to fly over in his Iron Man suit, but I ended up not wanting to write the awkward, lol. Maybe I'll save it for a smutshot someday, lol.
So, I wrote the epilogue a long, long time ago. Like, way before I wrote the actual ending, or even up to... like Chapter 10, I think? I confess to deliberately playing with it so you didn't know if she and Bucky had gotten back together or not, because at the time, I didn't know myself. I wasn't sure if the ending was going to be truly happy, or just hopeful for them. I had a *brief* (and I mean very, very brief) moment where I had her coming home to Steve, but that died very quickly, because Ew, Steve. I mean, seriously. I think the only reason I thought of it was that it would make people's jaws drop, lol.
Yes, their neighbors are going to hate them, lol. Most definitely. Well, at least until the middle-aged woman who lives downstairs comes up to yell at them to keep it down, but Bucky answers the door in a two-sizes too small tank top and smiles his Bucky smile at her and then she gets it, lol, and did I just come up with another idea for a smutshot? ::sigh:: TO THE GOOGLE DOC! I think I'm up to 13 now? I definitely will do my best to keep you fed with the shenanigans.
I cannot believe you've written 19k words! I have loved reading each and every single one! Focus on school, and don't worry about keeping up with what's going on over here-- it'll be here waiting for you for whenever you have the time. It's been an honor, my friend. A true honor.

Thoughts on AEW World's End
Finally got around to watching this. It was pretty fun.
Zero Hour
Willow Nightingale vs Kris Statlander
It was fun. Willow is one of my favorites in the women's roster of AEW. There weren't any real stakes, which was fine. Having Stokely Hathaway on commentary was definitely a plus, since he's hilarious. It was just great to see two good wrestlers having a good wrestling match. I would have been fine with either of them winning, but I'm glad Willow won.
TNT Title Battle Royal Thing
It was your standard battle royal, really. Had some entertaining moments. I'm a fan of Lance Archer, so it was great seeing him. And Danhausen. I would have liked the final two to be Dino-Kane vs Archer, but it is what it is. Nothing special.
Wheeler Yuta vs Hook (c), FTW Title, FTW Rules
Yuta is absolutely perfect as being this snotty little piece of shit that's clearly good at wrestling, but not as good as he thinks he is. Hook has definitely come a long way in his wrestling since he started. I enjoyed it. I love listening to Taz consistently just sound so damn proud of Hook. It adds so much flavor to the match. Decent match overall. Nothing particularly special, but it was fun watching Yuta get the shit kicked out of him.
World's End
Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, Mark Brisco vs Brody King, Jay White, Jay Lethal, Rush
Mark Brisco is one of the most endearing, and one of the silliest, people in AEW. I assume that it was at least partially his request, but it's so sweet (and so sad) that the entrance screens still reference his brother everywhere.
Brody King will always terrify me.
Rush is unfairly cool.
Jay White is one of my favorite wrestlers. I love how he flips between being this cocky asshole to a sniveling piece of shit during matches. I also like how always looks like he's about to collapse after seemingly after match. It adds a lot for me.
I liked this one. It had a lot of people who I'm pretty glad to see on my screens. Having Daddy Magic on commentary is always innerdaining. Genuinely happy to see Garcia actually get the pin, since he's someone who I definitely wanted to get further in the CC. I wouldn't mind seeing him get the ROH Pure title off of Yuta in 2024. Miro vs Andrade el Idolo
Miro and Andrade were two of the reasons I watched Collision. I really enjoyed Andrade's character when he debuted, and Miro is just very good at being an incredibly intense dude who I believe would try to kill God. Andrade's AEW theme is also just one of my favorite wrestling themes.
Since I had read before watching this that Andrade's contact was up, I expected him to lose. The match was decent. They're both good wrestlers, but it wasn't anything that blew me away. Miro winning makes sense, though I still don't fully understand where the Miro/CJ arc is going (I assume I've missed something)
Riho vs Toni Storm (c), AEW Women's World Title
Toni Storm doing this unhinged 1950s, Sunset Boulevard thing has been fantastic. She's great in the ring, too. Solid match with nothing particular exciting going on about it. While Toni did win this one, I would like to see her lose the belt sometime soonish, because I do want to see where they would take the character. If Mercedes shows up in AEW, I wouldn't be opposed to Toni losing to her. But that's also just my bias.
Swerve Strickland vs Dustin Rhodes
I love Swerve. He's absolutely one of my favorite active wrestlers. I've wanted a belt on him for ages. He's also so absurdly popular that I'm pretty sure he could actually kill someone in the ring and the audience would be chanting "WHOSE HOUSE? SWERVE'S HOUSE!" during the murder.
Sucks that Keith Lee couldn't be cleared because of whatever injury has been nagging him since 2022.
For a match with, ultimately, no real build, it was pretty good. Dustin is by no means a bad wrestler-- I was a fan of Goldust back in the da, too. And Swerve is just legitimately great in the ring. Always glad to see Swerve win a match.
Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, and Sting vs Ricky Starks, Big Bill, Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs
I'll be honest, outside of listening to Tony Schiavonne do his "IT'S STIIIIIIIIIIIING" I just couldn't care about this match. I just had no investment in it, to the point that can't really remember anything specific about it.
I'm getting kind of tired of the Don Callis family, and honestly just Don Callis in general.
I don't care about Jericho and Callis.
I don't know if it's his choice or not, but I wish that Sammy would actually get away from Jericho and do something independently.
Starks and Bill are fun as a pair. They're cool.
I want to see Takeshita more.
Darby is here for a good time, not a long time.
I will probably be a little sad when Sting retires (although if he un-retires, as wrestlers tend to do, I will also be annoyed).
Abadon vs Julia Hart (c), AEW TBS Title
It was alright. I'm glad to see Abadon finally wrestling more than just on Halloween, and seeing a match that was really just two different types of Spooky fighting each other was kinda fun. The audience was definitely enjoying it. Julia and Abadon have both had better matches. Something seemed off about it. It almost felt kind of sloppy-- one thing that stuck out in particular was Julia messed up her moonsault at the end of the match.
Didn't expect Abadon to win, but it would have been cool if they did.
Adam Copeland vs Christian Cage (c), AEW TNT Title, no DQ
The audience actively detracted from the match for me. One of my least favorite things is when the audience just sits there shouting "WE WANT [X]" for various props in a no DQ/hardcore match. It feels like they don't really care about the match so much as the specific spot that they're wanting.
That said. I liked this. Christian was great, Adam was great. They worked really hard to give you the feeling that they weren't friends anymore. Had a lot of good hardcore wrestling spots. Watching Nick Wayne eat shit because the burning table didn't break was kinda funny. Copeland winning was a nice move.
Christian Cage vs Adam Copeland (c), AEW TNT Title
Dino-Kane, having won the battle royal from Zero Hour, showed up and mauled Copeland. Dino-Kane was about to request his title shot when Christian Cage managed to con the title shot from him. So, Christian signed the contract for the title shot. The match was made official. Bell rings, Christian hits a spear and wins back the TNT title.
lmao.
I appreciate it just for being such a POS move from Christian.
Jon Moxley vs Eddie Kingston (c), Continental Classic finals, NJPW Strong Openweight title, ROH World title, AEW Continental Title
Match of the night, categorically. Mox and Eddie are fantastic. I was absolutely glued to my screen. These dudes know how to put on a good match, and so many matches with Eddie always feel like they have these enormous stakes involved, no matter who insignificant the match actually is. Few people can, or do, get me as invested in their matches as Eddie Kingston does in his.
I loved it. I was so happy to see Eddie actually win it all. And to see Mox and Eddie hug after the match-- not in a shipping way. You do you with that, it's not my cup of scene-- but because I like that Mox and Eddie are seemingly back to being friends.
I don't like to sit and analyze stuff involving Eddie too much, because I feel like it's disrespectful to try to do inside baseball shit to a guy like him and the work he puts into his character.
Samoa Joe vs MJF (c), AEW World Title
MJF is another dude who I don't like to sit and analyze too much, because of his character work and things like that. The commitment MJF and Eddie have to keeping kayfabe is genuinely great, and I have nothing but respect and appreciation for that.
That being said, we gotta do some of that with this.
MJF is, according to myraid reports, like Super Injured and in tons of pain. He's been dealing with stuff for a while.
I think this managed to help the story of the match a long, but it hurt the actual quality of it.
MJF's babyface run lately has felt a lot like an homage to that 1980s-early 1990s babyface archetype. Get beat down, overcome adversity, etc.-- the same kind of thing that Cody Rhodes has done. MJF is also a great babyface because he's very open about a lot of his personal issues, which makes him relatable to be people (part of why people like Hangman Page is the whole "anxious millennial cowboy" thing is very relatable to many). Being injured makes MJF the underdog. Makes you want to rally behind him even more and see him win. Especially against someone like Samoa Joe. Especially on his home turf.
But I can't help but wonder if this match would have been better if MJF had been at 100%. Something about it felt off. I don't know if I was just reading into it too much, or what. Maybe MJF was always going to be injured for the purposes of the match. I have no idea. While I can wonder, it doesn't really do any good.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the match. I'm a fan of Samoa Joe's, and I'm glad to see AEW treating him as this monster of a dude who just wrecks people's shit.
At this point, I just really hope that MJF is able to do whatever he needs to do so that he can recover from all his shit falling apart. Especially with what happens after the match.
Aftermath
After the match, The Devil's henchmen come to the ring and threaten to beat up Adam and MJF-- specifically, threatening to hit them with a chair. MJF trying to convince them to attack him, and not Adam. Adam trying to divert the attack onto him and not MJF. Then the lights go out.
When they come back, Adam is now sitting in the chair that the henchman had been brandishing. The four henchman unmask themselves. It's Wardlow, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, and Roderick Strong.
So, in a move that was legitimately not surprising, but also the only logical move in the narrative-- Adam Cole is The Devil that had been attacking MJF and others. I am absolutely okay with this.
I had been waiting for a while to see how they were going to split up the MJF/Adam Cole team. Adam Cole is one of the most morally reprehensible pieces of shit out there. It's one of his most significant character traits.
I'm legitimately looking forward to seeing where MJF goes from here. His best friend, his only friend, betrayed him and took from him one of the only things he cared about. He trust Adam, and Adam abused that trust. Now he's left with nothing.
When MJF comes back, he will absolutely have the crowd behind him, so I'm hoping they don't decide he should come back and turn heel (like when they kept Rollins as a heel after he returned from his knee exploding several years ago).
There's a lot of places this story could still go, and a lot of them have the potential to be pretty entertaining.

stony in bio and three and a half stony posts total lmao. it’s okay to ship stucky come join us.
This is genuinely so hilarious to me omg. Thank you, anon. I like that you confronted me on this cause I was thinking about it. Believe me, I would ship Stucky with you if I could! Unnecessarily long post coming because I love to ramble and talk about myself!
There's a few reasons why I don't talk about Stony that much, but none of them have anything to Stucky LOL. I have zero Stucky posts (as far as I know) for a reason!
This is a Steve blog first and foremost! I just appreciate Steve because I love him so damn much and I want to contribute to his fanbase. There's so many misunderstandings or straight bullshit about his character that are SO easy to counter and clear up and I like doing that. I like talking about who he is, what's he's done, why's he's done it and his interactions with others. I've been a little reserved on that front, but that'll change soon. I was initially nervous about this turning into too much of a shipping account because I didn't want to turn into one of those people who reduce Steve to his ship or only love him when he's in a ship. Thankfully, I found that I just genuinely like the guy individually and can talk about him all day lol.
Funny thing, I actually tried hard as Hell to ship Stucky when I first started watching the MCU for the sole reason it was the top ship on ao3. But I just didn't connect with it at all. I see the vision - even I can admit the idea is extremely romantic. Past lovers who knew each other their whole lives and discovered that not even the force of death can keep them apart? Hell yeah! It's an objectively good ship, but it just doesn't hit me. Now, I actually have exceptions - I do occasionally read Stucky for two reasons. 1) Smut because it's easier to find sub/bottom Steve and that's hot, 2) Good Steve characterization and/or it's Steve centric, 3) If it's Bucky/Steve/Tony with NO Tony/Bucky (annoyingly rare to find this combo). I recently read a Stucky story that made me BALL my eyes out, so I'm not adverse to it, I'm just not passionate about them two together romantically.
Oddly enough, I'm fully willing to be on the platonic soulmates train. Steve and Bucky live in each others' back pockets? All for it. They'd do anything for each other? Yeah, fully agree. They'd by a farm together and live out the rest of their days if they found no one else? Absolutely. Just because I just can't force myself to see it through a romantic lens (most of the time) doesn't mean I'll downplay their relationship. It just doesn't make me feel anything. I suspect a large part of this is because I'm pretty neutral to Bucky's character and I've never been the type to ship characters if I'm not madly in love with and invested in both of them.
If I'm going to be honest, one reason Stony is even in my bio is to warn people that I'm not a Tony anti. I love Tony DOWN despite what I think of some of his decisions. I see him through such a sympathetic eye. I know there are people who have the same views as me (loves Steve, Team Cap, ect ect) don't like Tony and I wanted to give them a fair warning that I will be talking about him fondly, not only as an individual, but also together with our fav, Steve, which puts people off. And I don't particularly care if people hate Stony (I have one MCU ship I hate with a burning passion so I get it lol), but I didn't want to surprise anyone.
The other reason it's in my bio is because I love Stony and want to rep them lol. I'm extremely passionate about them together. ALL versions of them. My banner is the 1872-verse which is one of the most clear-cut canon depictions of Stony. It's perfect! Back on topic though - I actually don't look at many Stony blogs though since I'm particular about them and I'm afraid of seeing something that'll piss me off before I can filter it out lol. Most of my Stony consumption comes from fanfiction (I've even been doing that less since I've ran out of stories that appeal to me) and my own imagination. I actually have no problem talking about them more. I probably will be since I'm working on an insanely long fic on their relationship, but I'm pretty content just talking about Steve.
I don't talk about Stony much mostly because I don't know what to say and I'm nervous on the things I do want to say. Mind you, I'm not a reserved person at all when it comes to flapping my lips about my opinions. In fact, being nervous about it only makes me want to say it more. Just to prove I can lol. I only just learned how to pick my battles online a while ago. But my interpretation of Tony and Steve as individuals are often not in line with what majority of the Stony fandom has agreed on, so I kind of just, let it be. I don't know many people who ship Stony who have the same or even closely related view. Now this may fully be because I'm new to talking about them online so I just haven't had the chance, but I think a large part is that a lot of them just aren't in the fandom as deeply anymore. I've said this before, but I get it. It can be exhausting especially after CW came out. The only reason I'm here is I'm too stubborn for my own good.
Uhhh, I'm pretty sure I had more to say, but I forgot my other points this far...I might edit the post if I remember...anyways, I'm pretty sure this is WAY more than you asked LMAO. I run my mouth a lot! Anyways, thanks anon for stopping by to chat! <3

OC Asks with your Loki/TVA OC (I haven't heard much about her yet and want to change that :D )
🐁🎲📚
🥞🌌🕐
Ah yes, Olivia, my first major OC, let's absolutely talk about her! Thanks for the ask! I'm tired, I burned my hand at work, and I only have a little bit of popcorn in my system, but screw it!
🐁 - Capybaras are friend-shaped. What shape does your OC have?
(Wow I can't believe there's no capybara emoji... tragic)
Hmm... you know, in an ironic twist, I would go as far to say she's Blue Rose Shaped. I think being rose-shaped means that you're very loving and beautiful when handled correctly, but you can also be prickly and even harmful if handled incorrectly.
I say blue rose specifically for the thematicness, but also for the general exoticness. She's a being from Asgard, she's an alien. She's not a natural being of Earth, just as (I'm pretty sure at least) blue roses don't grow naturally here.
🎲 - If your OC played a pen-and-paper RPG, what class would they pick?
I think it's funny you ask this since I literally have every facet of Emily's hypothetical Dungeons and Dragons character tabbed in my player handbook. But Olivia...
You know what, she would 100% be into TTRPG games, especially since, in a way, she herself is a fantasy character. I think as far as classes go, she'd either pick Mage if she wants to be more true to herself (since she is a magic user), but I thinl she'd also have a lot of fun playing as a Rogue. I think she likes playing as a Tiefling (my favorite race to play), but is also fond of being an elf.
She always plays a Chaotic alignment, no matter what.
📚 - Your OC has to improvise a 10 minute lecture on a topic of their choosing. What do they choose?
Olivia is well-versed in a lot of topics. She, like Loki, prefers mental sharpness over aggressive prowess in battle (she's still a skilled fighter, don't get me wrong). But I'll give two answers on this, a more serious one and a more goofy one.
One of Olivia's favorite things to study happened to be the nature of the Infinity Stones, even before they became an active part of her life. Canonically she's one of the first people to understand what exactly their dealing with during the Battle of New York in 2012. She knew the Tesseract was the Space Stone and she knew Loki's scepter housed the Mind Stone and was influencing him to some degree. And, in my version of Avengers: Endgame, she actually is the one who does most of the presenting about what the Infinity Stones are to the rest of the Avengers. So, serious answer, Infinity Stones.
Now a more goofy answer. If the Avengers decided to genuinely have a Presentation Night (my friends and I are super close to getting ours put together and my topic is... I'm gonna get yelled at for sure), I think she would give an entire in depth Exposé presentation on how the most random human events were just she, Thor, Loki, and the other Asgardians goofing around and messing with the people of Earth. So, for example, she'd explain that Loki was DB Cooper and provide an entire breakdown on the reasons, timeline, etc (Tony loses his fucking mind over that one). It seems kind of like a tame presentation, but she knows revealing this would elicit so many hilarious reactions from the others (it did) and did it primarily for that reason.
🥞 - Does your OC take proper care of themselves, like getting enough sleep and eating properly?
This is an interesting one since the answer varies depending on which "self care" aspect we're talking about.
Eating right and working out, she's great at. Asgard is a planet of warriors and even if she's not a beefcake like Thor or some of the other women, she's still very physically fit. She has to be if she's gonna keep up on the field of battle. And her diet also reflects this, she knows her food groups and knows what she needs to eat. That being said, she will raid the cabinets at the Avengers compound for sweets, either because she's craving it or just to annoy Tony.
Her sleep schedule is... complicated. Olivia is the Goddess of Dreams, so when she sleeps she has to do her deific duty (please ignore the logicstic of time since I'm not entirely sure how that works either... something something Asgard's time works different than ours). This means basically going from person to person across the Nine Realms and more or less moderating dreams.
She doesn't create them since our brains do that themselves, but she can alter them and shape them from the Spirit Plane the Valkyries use to guide souls to Valhalla (she's become very well acquainted with them over the years). She does this while she sleeps, sure, but it's still taxing since her brain is still working in a semi-conscious state. It's not like she just never gets proper rest, I'd say it's more like she's asleep for eight hours but only maybe gets six hours worth of actual rest across those eight hours. Usually this means she sleeps in to compensate. She can go to bed at 10 PM, in theory she needs eight hours of rest, so instead of a 6 AM wake up, it's maybe a 8 or 9 AM wake up. It's later than most of the other Avengers.
Her dream walking is complicated, but basically her sleep schedule is very weird because sleeping is arguably like a softer version of clocking in for work.
As for taking care of her mental health... listen, she's either the most positive, happy person with the best quality of life or she's... how do I put this... only slightly better off than Marcus from Twilight (actually context considered that's actually a very valid parallel at certain points). It really depends on where in her timeline/what timeline she's in.
If we're pre 2011, she's doing great. Her mental health takes a dip during and especially after the events of the first Thor movie (because, you know, she thinks Loki fucking DIED). It's a steady low through 2012 and the Battle of New York, but it slowly gets back up to a high point after the events of Dark World (Loki survives in my version and gets to go be an Avenger on Earth, fun!) It goes to I'll say a steady medium during the events of Ragnarok... and then it fucking plummets after Infinity War and that five year gap. But after that gets resolved she's able to fully heal and settle down.
Olivia's operating on different settings in A Song of Stars and Magic since she's Morally Bankrupt. In general though it's not really great. Her mental instability is a large plot point (I based her personality partly on Season 3 Azula from A:tLA and made plenty of references as such) and like most people who got ultimate power like she and Loki did, she's constantly Paranoid about rebellious mindsets and dissent. She enjoys the power trip and one could argue that her having this level of control after the tumultuousness of what came prior is a huge mood booster, but in general she's taking care of herself, just not in any of the right ways.
Olivia in the TVA/Loki Series AU I'd place somewhere in the general middle. There's a lot going on, many existential crisises, and the general disembodiment that comes from being taken from your timeline because of Nexus Events... and trying to overthrow an all powerful time organization. But she's also having fun. Mobius is her friend as much as he is Loki's, she gets to hang out with (i.e. catch mutual feelings for) Sylvie, and she gets to travel through time and just be chaotic... I guess we'll see how that goes for her when season 2 comes out, but as of right now she's... well, neither she or Loki are doing too great...
🌌 - If your OC has a nightmare, what is it most likely about?
Well, again, interesting question since she's a dream deity and has the power to create and manipulate other people's nightmares (again, a great indirect way to show her character's potential duality). She can't manipulate her own, though.
You know, I just remembered how after Multiverse of Madness came out and they said our dreams are our windows to the Multiverse, I said Olivia's accidentally a being who has some degree of Multiversal power (I gave her this deification waaaay before that came out, it became an accidental consequence... I like to headcanon she would have been in the Illuminati with Reed Richards and Co because of this power... and in that reality she's married to Lady Loki).
I digress, though, Olivia and Dreams are a very complex topic.
As far as her nightmares, ones featuring Loki's deaths are extremely common. Either reliving them in vivid, sometimes even exaggerated detail, or her brain coming up with new, horrific ways he could die (I pity her other Variants in the Multiverse who had to actually experience those).
Being abandoned is another one, although not nearly as frequent. The Asgardian Royal Family took her in after her parents died because her mother was close with Frigga, but she sometimes fears they will abandon her, especially after Frigga dies since she and Odin are not anywhere near on the best of terms. Or even the Avengers sending her away for any number of reasons.
But actually, during the events of Age of Ultron, Wanda gives Olivia a vision that's like a nightmare. 2012 haunts her because she and Loki were on opposite sides but there were many times she contemplated or got close to turning cloak and just joining him in conquest (A Song of Stars and Magic is a somewhat unique case, but still a good thing to keep in mind).
Years later she wonders how things could have ended differently had she caved to her darker impulses. Wanda shows her a reality where Olivia slaughtered the other Avengers for Loki because she wasn't going to let them stand in her way of becoming his queen. It's a very dark vision, but I think it shows how her morality is something she contemplates a lot and how close she got with the team since then. She'd think about other endings back in the early days without much weight since she didn't know everyone as well, but after spending more time with them, one of her worst fears is hurting them.
It's interesting.
🕐 - Was there ever a time your OC would have given everything to turn back the clock 5 minutes? What happened?
Plenty of times. So many horrible things happened that could have been avoided if something simple had changed even one or two minutes prior, let alone five. Not letting Loki fall into the wormhole during the events of Thor 1, being quicker to maybe save Coulson from his "death" (Agents of SHIELD aside), just being a little faster to save Frigga before she died (or even just Olivia skipping finding her sword in her room in the first place so she could go help sooner), not letting Hela get to Asgard, not letting Loki face down Thanos.
And that's just in the main timeline! There are plenty of decisions Olivia makes in Time Variance Detected she wishes she could have rewound (ironically enough). Not causing her Nexus Event, being more upfront about her feelings for Sylvie, the entire situation with He Who Remains, among others.
For the fun of it, I know for a fact in A Song of Stars and Magic, Olivia wishes she could have rewound time to not be so arrogantly assured Maya's revolution would fail and get cocky... or even just being better defended against the backup Asgard provided. A long time ago I wrote an unpublished alternate ending where all that made a difference was Olivia just magically locking the fucking door to the throne room before quickly locking Maya up and mind controlling the other Avengers. That's literally what made all the difference, and that took less than five minutes for sure.
Basically any way you slice it, Olivia's made many many mistakes that could be changed with a five minute rewind, but unfortunately that's just not how life works.
Even if at some point you do work for the TVA.
