The more I think about it, the more I like that Gerald is alive in Sonic 3. There's so much potential when it comes to developing Shadow and Robotnik...

Seeing Robotnik basically turn into a kid the second he sees his grandpa was precious. Being an orphan is a sore spot for him, so how is he going to act when he finally meets his family?

#sonic movie #sonic movie 3 #I think Movie Robotnik is a lot more emotionally driven than most Eggmans #which is funny because he actively tries to supress all his emotions and human traits #but he is human #he is petty he is emotionally damaged over his family situation #and he clearly developed an attachment to Stone that even manifests subconsciously when he's stranded in the Mushroom Planet #and in the third movie he's straight up depressed #his emotions always get in the way. His obsesion with Sonic distracted him despite being all-seeing #so I think having Gerald back will make him ignore every potential red flag
