My SIL's shitzu is really good with her kids I think that'd be a good choice. Hes a really chill dude and the other ones I've met were too. But I don't know if that's breed related.
Honestly, I never met a shih tzu that wasn't just a Nice Little Dude. Like, I've met a lot of little dogs with Little Dog Syndrome (and for good reason!!) But I've never met a shih tzu who wasn't generally happy with life. Could be because on average they tend to have slightly less than 2 active brain cells at any given time, and you can't really be full of rage if you can't comprehend the injustices of the world. Or perhaps because their tubular little bodies are just so naturally Friend Shaped they can't override the predisposition to cheeriness. But I've never been snapped at, growled at, or in any way threatened by a shih tzu, and I met a LOT of shih tzus working at the shelter, which is generally where you find yourself getting barked, growled, snapped, and menaced at. I had one take a flying leap off the exam table and almost kill himself, and then I had to spend half an hour draining the hidden abscess he had forcibly burst in the process of landing, and the most negative thing he said to me was "mmrmph."
Nothing but good things to say about those goofy little gremlins from me.

I'm still seeing a lot of angry takes in the tags about how excessive Watcher's current costs are and how all fans really want, apparently, is "just shane and ryan sitting in a basement" back again. While I do think Watcher is probably spending over budget and that's a real issue, a lot of the takes I'm seeing show a fundamental misunderstanding of how video production works and where costs actually lie. So a few quick things that I just keep seeing that are bothering me:
It was never just Shane and Ryan in a basement. BFU did a great job selling that conceit and making sure you never saw anyone beyond them and maybe TJ, but they absolutely had other crew members with them on ghost hunts and they didn't do all the work on BFU themselves. This Q&A from Season 2 lists 36 people on staff for Buzzfeed Unsolved. It's fair to make arguments that Watcher may or may not need 25 people, but those arguments should not be coming from a place of "before it was just Shane and Ryan and nobody else."
If you don't know how many people are needed to make a professional video from a TV/film standpoint, you will not have a reasonable grasp of why Watcher wants to keep 25 people on staff. Sure, some YouTubers get by with a ring light and a contracted editor. The Watcher team have stated repeatedly that they do not want to work as just YouTubers and see themselves more as a production studio—so why do people keep referencing the YouTube model to understand their business? This is like asking the local shake shop why it doesn't function like the kids' lemonade stand down the block. The item category is similar but they're not trying for the same products or process.
The "gold dusted food" is not the big budget sink you think it is. On most TV shows I've worked on it's normal to partner with businesses that are shown onscreen and work out a deal where the price of the product (in this case the gold food) is reduced or eliminated in exchange for the free publicity. Watcher very likely made a deal with every restaurant it worked with to make the Korea trip affordable for the company. The real budget spends are on things you're probably not seeing but that still matter: camera and lighting equipment is expensive, insurance for that equipment is expensive, business overhead and paying your staff are expensive. So again—it's fine to critique Watcher for the streaming plan and the perceived budgetary issues, but go into this knowing the costs might not be coming from the things you see onscreen.
My source is that I work in TV and film and actually have a clue on how the industry functions. Again, 36 people worked on Unsolved (and those were the people mention in Season 2—who knows how big the team blew up past that in later seasons). Entertainment work is real work, and demands decent equipment, competent staff, and the same types of business and budget problems you'd find in any other business (overhead, staffing, etc.). Feel free to critique Watcher's business model, but first try to understand where that model is coming from and what goals it's attempting to serve.

okay mutuals. you're reading a 1970s/80s comic. the original issue has darker, richer colors but clear aging and the lines/details are fuzzy. the tpb has sharp and clean lines but the colors are flat and dull. which are you reading?

attempt to idly discuss concept of custom wedding vows with 🌸 ground to a halt after the realization that neither of us actually, like, wants to try to figure out what the fuck we'd be promising
can you do custom vows, but instead of vows to do stuff, it's just a list of the superbly good qualities of the other person in order to make it clear why any rational actor would agree that you should obviously plan to keep hanging out with them as long as possible

See, here's the thing about Dedue and the non-Dimitri members of the Faerghus Four. They're not his friends. Ashe and Mercedes are his friends, Annette is debatable, but Ingrid, Felix, and Sylvain he is not even looking to be friends with.
They're his in-laws. In-laws that, at least in the Academy phase, he doesn't even particularly like.
Like, if not for Dimitri, he would absolutely not talk to those people. He's making nice with them because they're the closest thing Dimitri has to family that's not actively trying to murder either of them, and they're important to Faerghus so Dimitri has to have a relationship with them no matter what, and it's important to Dimitri that they and Dedue at least kind of get along with each other as much as possible.
But Dedue isn't trying to be friends with them! Dedue is like, I'll go to the family holiday party because it's important to you but if Felix starts talking shit or Ingrid says something racist then I'm not going to be the one to deal with that. They're your relatives and I'll be nice but that's your problem. He's not looking to be close with them, he just wants to have a halfway decent relationship with them for Dimitri's sake and like no more than that.
And they improve a lot in their supports, especially after the time skip, especially in Three Hopes, but like. The relationship there is still fundamentally in-laws. It's just a graduation from "shitty in-laws I'm putting up with" to "in-laws I've come around on and can have a decent-to-good time with." Depending on what supports you get they can even graduate to "in-laws I actively like and admire." But like. He's still hanging out with them because they hang out with Dimitri. He's not hanging out with them for their own sakes.
Dimitri has one important familial relationship with them and another vitally, crucially important relationship with Dedue. Both are fascinating to explore and I love to explore them. But they're completely different relationships.
Like they're not all a big five-person friend group, Dimitri is in the position of having to like. Try and keep the peace between his extended family in all but name who he still loves, and the person who has been the most important person to him for his entire teens so far. Even if Dimitri were tired of his friends' shit personally he can't just stop talking to them, they're the future leaders of their houses, the only houses that are all in behind House Blaiddyd and not fomenting assassinations. He HAS to maintain a good relationship with them for Faerghus.
Dedue gets this. He'll play nice with them. He knows Dimitri also needs them on his side if he's ever going to restore Duscur, but he doesn't have to like them. He'll save their asses on the battlefield for Dimitri but he's going to go hang out with Mercedes and Ashe after.

You! Are! History!
I drew some of Pit's fabulous adorable poses from his battle cry in Chapter 5. I love him so much.
There were more, by the way, but I got tired after inking and coloring two. Have all five sketches under the cut:

hi anna!!! :)))
i hope you are doing well and getting through exam season alright!!!
i wanted to let you know that i watched the first episode of granada holmes (a scandal in bohemia) and it was so fucking good i am obsessed. i was a little nervous to watch their adaptation since irene adler usually gets done so dirty but i was very pleasantly surprised at how they treated her!!!! she was an icon from the moment she came on screen with a gun <3333333
i also love the holmes and watson dynamic so far!!!! watson did a lot in the episode to help holmes and it was so fucking funny watching holmes give zero fucks about social normals and watson working overtime to make up for holmes, lmao
thanks again for the recommendation, friend :)))) i'd love to know if you have any particular thoughts/feelings/opinions about the episode?
hiya zip :)
im doing okay :) i hope you are too!
yayyyy!!!! this is the only version of irene in any adaptation i like :) (im sure theres at least one other really good one out there though) she IS an icon <333 i agree with the king on one thing, what a woman! did you notice her little gay moment? its around 19:30 when she checks out a dancing women whilst drinking with the king (booo)
yesss its really good!! the way holmes expresses caring via little things like buying watsons favourite cigars too <333 or making him stay for the case <333 and watson cares right back, yelling at holmes over his cocaine habit, which is something i love about the books, so seeing it in this series is so nice :)
i love holmes' disguises as well, he really does look like a completely different person and i love that that part of the books wasnt removed :) especially his clergyman disguise, he looks delightfully comical with the bandage around his head
i believe this episode was actually the third filmed? i know solitary cyclist was the first for sure, bc they wanted the first episode to be really good, so they made sure that they all had a bit of experience with this series first :)

Video essayist I like makes a barely one minute reference to Sasuke in a video that is neither about him nor about Naruto the series.
Me: continuously cracking my fingers in an attempt to physically stop myself from writing a whole dissertation in the comment section because NO! No no that is all wrong listen listen listen the underlying message of his arc by the end of the series is deeply rotten actually it isn't doing what you-

Fic asks (randomized)
2,9,16,20,25
omg thank you for sending some!!
Fanfic Ask Game - feel free to send me some <3 I love writing ask games like this!!!
2. a character whose POV you're currently exploring
Recently I've been writing Maze Runner fanfiction for the first time since high school, so I have been exploring the POVs of all the main characters with my current more mature writing style and skill set and it's a lot of fun.
My most recent fic is about Thomas, and I have never written about him before (my previous unpublished fics were about Newt or Gally) - so I am exploring him as a character for the first time and it is so interesting. I am really exploring his loyalty, his protectiveness, his propensity to jump toward anger and rage because of that protectiveness. And I've been enjoying writing about him a lot.
9. start to finish, how long did it take you to write the last fic you posted?
Technically the last fic I posted was a re-post - Precious Time Alone (Gar Logan x Fem!Reader). So that's a really interesting question in this case, because when I came back to it in order to edit it before re-posting it, 90% of the ground work was already done.
If you count the first draft that was written in 2022, I think this fic took me a total of - 3 weeks? One week to write the first draft, one week to edit the first draft before it was initially published, and then one week to edit it the second time around (including adding some scenes) before re-posting it.
And that is working on it for 3 or 4 hours a day. And it's a rough estimate. I am really good at writing things fast when I get into a groove - so if I sit down at the computer and write for 3-4 hours a day, I can easily write a 10k fic in a week. But things like illness or mental health issues that disrupt my groove make me take longer because I have to take days off.
16. favourite place to write
My bed <3
This is literally the only place I write lmao. Because of my chronic illness, I don't go other places. And I have worked really hard to make my room and my bed a really relaxing, peaceful place so that I can be productive and get a lot of writing done.
(And because of moving, recently my room has been a stressful mess, but I am looking forward to making my new room a peaceful, relaxing place to get more writing done.)
20. in what year did you publish your first fic?
It's not available to be read anymore, but I published my first fic on Quizilla in 2009. I was 11 years old at the time, and the fic was 10 chapters long, and I think each chapter was 100 to 150 words each, because back then, for me that was long.
It was a Ron Weasley x OC fic called Crying Is Beautiful and the OC was named Chance Malfoy - she was a Gryffindor who was near constantly abused by her family for her association with 'mudbloods' and 'blood traitors' and I ended the epic climax of the fic by having Lucious Malfoy (her own father) murder her at the Battle at the Department of Mysteries so that he could make her death look like an accident. Because even back then I was obsessed with whump. The fic literally ends with Ron sobbing, cradling Chance's dead body.
So if any of that sounds familiar to you, that was my first fic, and you read it. These days, my whump makes a little more sense - but I literally have to restrain myself from writing pure whump or it ends up being so depressing. Because I fucking love angst fics. I am someone who - irl is the equivalent of Bubbles from the Powerpuff Girls - but if you tell me to write a sad fic, I will stab you and then twist the knife as many times as possible and I will smile while I do it.
It's why I mainly write hurt/comfort now - because I can get my whump addiction satisfied, but there is the promise of relief at the end.
25. besides writing, what are your other hobbies?
I have a few.
I fucking love beading - I love making beading necklaces and bracelets, it's one of the number one things that calms down my anxiety. It has gotten to the point where even just the smell of beads calms me down, so sometimes I will pick up my container of beaded necklaces I have made and sniff it in order to calm down.
I love drawing - very casually, I love making 'bad' drawings with shitty markers. I do not at all aspire for my art to improve or get better.
I love fashion. I love analyzing and admiring other people's fashion, and I love putting together outfits of my own. Because of my chronic illness, I find it tiring to try on outfits for fun, but when I can, I have a lot of fun doing it.
Recently I've gotten back into journaling for my mental health.
Horror movies is a huge one - I love sitting down in the dark and focusing 100% on the screen to just enjoy a horror movie experience, especially watching obscure ones I have never heard of before.
I do enjoy hobbies outside of writing, but writing is the biggest hobby for me that makes me feel acomplished when I am finished with each fic. All my other hobbies are very casual and I don't care about working on them as much.

do you mind if i ramble in the tags about my weird relationship with making art in fandom for a second
#as someone who is studying art as a career one thing i have realized and also been explicitly told by various teachers#is the fact that having a 'consistent' art style is so overvalued sometimes that it ends up limiting you as an artist#literally i'd say 99 percent of the stuff we do in uni doesn't require consistency. it's actually valued when there isn't one#after all it is about learning and honing skills isn't it#so it has kind of put my personal conflicts in a different perspective#because before i started this degree i used to struggle so much with creation in non-academic spaces (which is pretty ironic. i know)#because the ppl and art i admired was mostly composed of art in fandom spaces#and the most appreciated artists in these spaces tend to be the ones who have a nice defined unique style#which isn't bad. i actually do still wish i could reach something like that#but it made me not want to create as much as i desired because i felt 'inconsistent' and i took that as a negative quality in my art#and it was so frustrating because nothing i tried seemed to 'stick'#which was also due to the fact that none of the varyingly different styles of drawings i posted seemed to reach many people#and yes i have heard time and again the whole schpiel of 'creating for yourself is better and quantity of likes/notes shouldn't mean as muc#to you as long as you're satisfied with your art blah blah blah'– c'mon. we all want our creations to be admired i'm tired of pretending#like i don't. i put it out there for a reason and it is for people to at least acknowledge it. it's the point of fandom. it's community#it's interaction. or at least it should be. that's another conversation though#so anyways since i started uni some time ago this frustration has been receding but it's very much still present#even more so when i get excited about doing/drawing something and then halfway through i get that pull in my chest of like. i'm actually#starting to hate it bc i can't reach what i want to#and so there's this disconnect that happens because i have many ideas and desires to create but i feel (even if it might not be true)#that i don't have the skillset to meet those ideas#which literally happens to almost if not everyone i know i'm not alone in this. it still sucks though#so i end up with about a dozen unfinished works monthly bc i start it/i reach halfway and hate it/i look at art and get inspired bc artists#in fandom are SO talented/i go back to it/i still can't reach the skill level i desperately want/i abandon it indefinitely#it's a horrible cycle that i really haven't been able to escape lately#it's also worse when you're at a time in your life when you don't actually have the opportunity or the time to try to achieve consistency#because you really just physically don't have the time to practice. which is the number one advice every good artist will give you#i am running out of tags but the point is. i hope we stop subconsciously putting consistent art styles in a higher pedestal bc it can be#very stressful for artists who struggle to find that in their creation#art related
