Ok hear me out: Narilamb but they're both aroace and in a qpr.

I've been rolling around in my head for like a long long time this idea that Narinder and Lambert could both be aroace and (after like. A couple of centuries or so) end up in this like very comfortable very close relationship that neither of them define as anything specific other than calling it a "companionship". But on the other hand most of the cult thinks that they're dating in secret or something despite the fact that both of them have said they don't take lovers, because they are clearly very tight but maybe not super openly so, so maybe the cultists thing they're being secretive and hiding something or something like that. Idk but my aroace brain loves thinking about extremely close (mostly) platonic relationships and for some reason my brain decided hmm. I'm going to take this and throw it at Narilamb and see how I like it.

So then I decided to make a ridiculous joke comic about Narinder asking Lambert's hand in marriage specifically because he wants to get out of paying taxes. Because like, I know that spouse followers do actually still have to pay taxes in the actual game but. Hey Narinder and Lambert have presumably never married so they probably don't know that...? Honestly the only reason I made this was because the concept tickled me and I spent too much time on this for no one to see it, so. This comic and all it's absolute ridiculousness be upon ye.

While there's a tiny part of me that's been thinking about making this into an AU (which I'd probably call something like the "Strictly Platonic AU" or something), I know for a fact that I would blatantly not do anything legitimate with it so. It's an unofficial AU I guess?? But. Anyways. I thought this would be funny. Enjoy my ramblings and I hope you enjoy this thing that I spent. Actual time on. Lol

this scene takes place sometime after philippi, and was originally just some historical fiction I was writing last year for fun focusing on antony, octavian, and agrippa. then I got stressed out watching the new season of a show, started drawing while it played, and ended up turning it into a short comic lmao

the dialogue in this scene is referencing this bit out of Suetonius:

oh hell yeah clytemnestra's breast-baring the libation bearers as a gesture at the falseness of the theatrical body! her point is 'look at the breast that fed you' but as we hear from cilissa, clytemnestra was not the one to breast-feed orestes as a baby, so she's appealing to a fundamental connection between the body of mother and son that isn't there within the world of the play. and also she's played by a man and does not have breasts.

ngl i think raph is an underrated character to poke at for villain aus especially if he's completely alone in it, and i think his devotion to heroism and duty conceptually leaves a lot of open room for it. because like.... raph (at least in the show) has an almost childish view of heroism. the depth of his morals and principles are never really explored, outside of things like stealing = wrong (nuanced, but generally not true) and hurting people being bad.

i also think he wouldn't hurt or kill people unless he truly, genuinely believed that they deserved it, and there was no other option. but also... every bad person has their own internalized logic, and raph is genuinely very stubborn. sometimes he gets an idea in his head that's hard to shake, and he can get indignant and defensive when he's questioned. him and leo argue so much because both of them openly struggle to admit fault.... do you see where i'm going here

i love villains who openly embrace being the bad guy but god damn do i also love horrible evil people who genuinely 100% believe that they are in the right and that they're the good guy here. and the potential tragedy with his role as their protector and the eldest .... there's so much potential in him

this is a largely meaningless observation but, based on the fleki uniform demonstration comic, mithrun seems to wear the default style of the canary uniform, probably because he has no desire to personalize it or preference for how to do so, etc. when he does seem to pick his own clothes, though, they don’t look super in-line with what we’re shown of elven clothing styles in his region: high collars look like they’re fairly popular with elves in general, but out of uniform he tends to be a lot more covered up than everyone else—long sleeves, long pants, boots rather than sandals, and he dresses that way both prior to getting eaten and after the events of the series. anyway it’s kind of cute that after everything that happened to him, someone cared enough to remember what his clothing preferences used to be.

Jimmy killing himself because he knows he is incapable of living an life without Curly and knows that in the miracle chance they were found and saved they would not let him have contact with Curly and he hates the idea he'd actually have to take responsibility.

Even if he lied, its only a matter of time before Curly is capable of showing or telling what a monster he really is, no matter what delusions tell Jimmy Curly would never do that to him.

He understands that he was the monster in everyone's worse moments but refused to accept that at the end. So he made sure that he died without the possibility of it being actualized as he's the only one that saw death as an escape rather than a release. Jimmy truly didn't believe Curly had anything to escape from even after everything and let him have what he perceived as glory as the sole survivor and thus Captain of the Tulpar.

Conflicting emotions about EoW reusing the toy style ngl. On the one hand, that's my absolute favourite artistic direction they've had in a LoZ game, and I adore it aesthetically. On the other hand, what made it so special in LAHD was how it cleverly connected to the story. Making Koholint look like a plastic diorama - contrasting heavily with the anime-style beginning cutscene - teases LA's big twist right from the very beginning. No other Zelda game has ever been able to do that with its art style alone. I do worry that Nintendo are seeing the toy style as a potential new norm for the 2D games (much like they stuck to the toon style in the DS era) and that it may eventually diminish just how clever and creative LAHD is.

i think i wouldn’t hate disco elysium’s collage mode nearly as much if it weren’t for 1) the way that it was marketed in such a tasteless, soulless manner, let alone the fact that it was a last ditch distraction from a dead on its feet studio piloted by dumbass thieving execs and released on the day of the court declaration, and 2) those dumbass fucking stickers

like if it had been included with the base game from the start and had been titled something a bit more tasteful and in-line with how i would have liked the feature to be marketed as— something like “exploration mode”, something that perhaps could only be unlocked after completing the game for the first time, AND didn’t have those stupid as hell visually and tonally incongruent with the artstyle stickers, i would have applauded it as a nice little bonus for being able to study and appreciate the 3d models and environments for reference.

i've also heard that, but i have no idea what they're talking about T-T i think it's something to do with one of the five star outfits having more pieces than usual and/or a new open-world area being a little lackluster, but my most formative gacha game was obey me, so i'm kind of incompetent of objectively rating the playability of literally anything. we did get selfcest lesbians this update tho so. uh. overall there's a lot to discuss.
