A/W 2020 Fashion Month & Top 20 Collections: Before Vogue Went Blank (Part 4)
Hi all,
Welcome to part 4! Itās gonna be a bit of a shorter one because I wasnāt sure if I could fit the last few collections into my part 3 since I also want to include a ranking of my favourite F/W20 shows. I have so many ideas for what Iād like my next few posts to be (thereāll probably be a bit of gap between them as I would like to try and get some fiction writing in too) and I need help and recommendations on one post in particular so I thought Iād open by explaining that if anyone would like to send me suggestions! The post is basically going to highlight the often under-appreciated personal style of PoC, and Iād also like to make sure I include all types of bodies and genders and ethnicities (other than white girls, as we get enough credit as it is, all a tall, skinny blonde woman has to do is wear some light wash jeans, heels and a blouse and high fashion Twitter are posting non-stop about how incredible her style is)! This can be a celebrity, a model, an influencer or even just one of your friends if you think they deserve some hype too! Obviously thereās only so many photos I can include but I will make sure to look at any suggestions, though of course Iām gonna be biased towards the grungier looks; I gave Dolls Kill a pass for a long time because I thought the brand had changed and become more responsible over the last few years but since Shoddy Lynnās thoughtless Instagram post during the protests last month and then her lacklustre response video, I say fuck that āgoth is whiteā bullshit, alternative black women are hot af. Iāll also make sure to include a list of my favourite black owned clothing lines Iāve seen people talking about on Twitter and Instagram so again, if you have any suggestions feel free to inbox me. Other than that, I have a couple of lookbooks planned and after, either a post about my favourite shows for style inspiration OR a lookbook depending on whether I have the clothes to do it already/can source a few things from Depop-Depp-Iāve made a commitment not to buy anything new for the next couple of months and I want to stick to that this time round! Iād also like to do a general collation of my favourite summer outfits, an almost scrapbook-y kinda post, and another post on some of my favourite fashion icons (Iāll probs end up repeating a lot of the women from the post I was talking about above but Iāll try and include different outfits to keep it varied!).Ā
Now, into the final part, and the top 20, starting with Tory Burch (Iām really pissed off because I added an unnecessary E in after the R and now Tumblr is once again being stupid and not saving any of my editing changes-also I said on the next post instead of inĀ in the last paragraph and my anal-retentiveness is kicking into high gear).Ā
Youād think itās a kinda anti-climatic one to open with but I do like this collection! It reminds me a bit of last seasonās Miu Miu but more so of Brockās general aesthetic, though with more layers and in some ways to its detriment, a lot more wearable. Looking like something from a bygone era is part of what gives Brock its mystique, but Burchās designs are practically made for the Chelsea born and bred lifestyle blogger who dresses for a cold spell in the Coachella valley all year long and treats trawling Pimlicoās furniture shops and meeting their girlfriends for coffee like itās a full-time job. Sheās probably born into money and doesnāt work all that hard but hey, she looks angelic holding a bouquet of flowers and in 2020 we all low-key want her life, right? Itād go against my ethics but...*whispers* it would be nice to be that girl just for a couple of days. It is a gorgeous collection, with a lush colour palette and an ever graceful variety of prints and textures, and it toes the line of being accessible and being worthy of a fashion week spot with dexterity. 8/10 and it only loses marks because itās safe for the brand.
When it comes to Valentino, theyāre a pretty reliable favourite for me, and this seasonās collection doesnāt break tradition; this one is slightly grittier than usual too which is a big win for me. Whilst the usual sophistication and delicate details are there, quirky embroidery, sequins and tulle, we also get a lot of leather and more black than usual, which I pray doesnāt a herald a return to people thinking āI only own black clothes and listen to Artic Monkeysā is a personality trait. I donāt know if itās intentional, but there seems to be a lot of aquatically inspired pieces in this collection too; the 3d roses resemble scales to me (and are a really unique texture), and the way the tulle is placed kinda reminds me of fins and has a mermaid on land feel. It wouldnāt surprise me, since Valentino does tend to draw from nature quite a bit. Highs for me were the Valentino red tulle piece and the tulle pieces in general, of course with the embroidered florals as well which the basic bitch in me always looks forward to. The few lows were concentrated in the leopard print section, a print that for me is really overdone and reminds me of recent Dolce and Gabbana. It was cool when layered with the matching coat but I otherwise couldāve done without it.
Vera Wang is another one of my reliable faves-I think I like this collection even more than the last, it really is a fucking DREAM. The overly floral pieces I wasnāt too keen on but Iāll ignore that on the basis that as with Gucci, the tulle-harness combo is everything I look for in a dress and more. I know manic-pixie-dream-girl is a bit of a slur (not a slur slur but you know what I mean) in terms of the associated character, but this 90s Courtney Love grunge twist on that aesthetic is gold, fully realised big anarchist fairy energy (which is a screen name Iām surprised I donāt see more often and which I might now steal). These dresses were made for someone like Zoe Kravitz or FKA Twigs on the red carpet, and if god forbid I somehow ever ended up on one, I would go to the ends of the earth to be wearing one of the dresses from this collection. Aside from the dresses, I appreciated the moody doesnāt-want-to-be-at-the-family-function teenager inspired sleeves and the 2014 Tumblr Cruel Intentions style knee high socks. Love, love, LOVE it.
So, Versace started off strong with the all black looks-the cut outs were cute if impractical and the fit and flare trousers in particularly were really well fitted (from a distance, at least). I hated the film Red Sparrow but the visuals were very cool, and this section reminded me of that, like a high fashion collection based on Jennifer Lawrenceās character. There were some stunning colour combos in the Ashish like hyper-floral part too, and the houndstooth, marble and Versace tile prints were sick. The black jumper with the flowers on reminds me of a jumper of my nanās I always wanted that my aunty ended up donating to a charity shop after she died not knowing I liked it. Gutted (not just about the jumper obviously, looool).
HOWEVER, as with many 91 look collections, it was sloppy at times. A lot of pieces I at first liked (I.E the silver dress we saw Kendall Jenner in, included above) are kind of unfinished up close. There was also a big varsity inspired section which was nice at times but got pretty repetitive and occasionally looked like it could pass for Jack Wills or a bad Michael Kors collection. On the whole, it had both its pros and its cons which puts it directly in the middle of the pack.
Victoria Beckhamās collection is near the lower-middle quartile when it comes to plotting the highs and lows of the F/20 collections. The pieces are pretty and accessible, Iād definitely wear them, but theyāre predictable and mostly a rip-off of other brands who did something similar in a more interesting way. Though her collections are never really experimental, this one is particularly safe, and she and whoever helped design this seasonās pieces were clearly avoiding the edges of the box like a child playing the floor is lava. Itās alright, and I hate coming towards the end of the post with negativity, but I have to be honest, and this just doesnāt really interest me beyond a āyeah, thatās niceā glance.
Vivienne Westwood, on the other hand, is always interesting whether I would actually wear it myself or not. Despite the mix and matchiness that is essential to the deconstructed look, which being the basic bitch I am I often struggle to see past, there were some gorgeous pieces and eurgh, I could really talk about that Bella Hadid look all day. The contrast between the exaggerated femininity of the waist cinchers against the androgyny of the less structured, oversized pieces is a really interesting one and the colour combinations work beautifully together. I also love the idea behind the collection, which is, in the words of Andreas Kronthaler about ārites of spring, and the good and the bad, and conflict, and the good prevailing over evilā. Ahhh, I hear you say. THATāS whatās with the garlic necklace. Can I get another pat on the back for summing up this collection as āvampire slaying uniformā in my notes? I mean, thatās kind of a good vs. evil situation, isnāt it? I know itās hard to ignore how hot vampires always are in TV series and movies but just think of the true forms of the ones off Penny Dreadful and remember THEY DRINK BLOOD (I personally think being a vampire would be really cool, just need to work out how to do it āethicallyā).
Lastly, Zimmerman, and I really canāt say how happy I am to end on a positive note because this collection was stunning. Not without all the characteristically ornate, indulgent and painstakingly detailed efforts weāve come to expect from Nicky and Simone Zimmerman, these looks (in an icy winter themed colour palette as well) are the offspring of a sophisticated flower child and a 70s glam rocker and I think with this sentence Iāve finally put my style aspirations into words. Honestly, give me the money to produce a modern day Almost Famous and Iāll make my character this no-nonsense intersectional feminist front woman of a fictional Haim-like band who sings with the voice of an angel but is rock and roll as fuck and eats men for breakfast and Iāll put her in this collection and (deep breath) it would be ICONIC. There. Got to the point eventually. Am I talking about a 2020s version of Steve Nicks? Possibly. After all, I do have a framed illustration of her on my wall. But regardless, I need those lace-up velvet BOOTS, that mesh dress with the celestial embroidery, the flame detail pieces, the white pussy bow blouse with the eyes on it. Everything is sooo dreamy; when I was looking through the collection for my favourites, I saved pretty much every. single. look. ITāS EVERYTHING I STRIVE TO BE. WHY CANāT I AFFORD ZIMMERMAN GOD DAMN IT!?
See, Iāll be going on about Zimmerman in a couple of paragraphs again because it will be very high in my top 20, which Iām so glad is a top 20 BTW. I know I said it would be a top 10 in my last post because I thought that was how I structured it last time but I double checked and it is 20, which is a relief; once again, picking only 10 collections would be very hard. SO! Letās get into it!
1. Gucci
I hate being predictable but Gucci once again holds the top spot for me. How could I not love this? I would say that I hope Alessandro Michele fucks up next season so I donāt come off as a boot licker but when the boots in question are platform Mary Janes and knee high socks and theyāre underneath tulle with BDSM inspired harnesses on top...maybe boot sole doesnāt taste so bad after all.
2. Zimmerman
Well, I did say it wouldnāt be long until you were seeing the same outfits again, so at least you know my word is good.
3. Moschino
Wow, as if putting Gucci first again wasnāt bad enough, Moschinoās also a non-mover. But...Marie Antoinette this season and Picasso last? And this campy? Itās like Jeremy Scott reached into my brain magician-into-a-top-hat-style, picked out an interest of mine at random, and tried to communicate this to me through the medium of design with THE most chaotic energy humanly possible. I an only commend the man, because he succeeded, and I approve.Ā Itās weird because before I always saw Jeremy Scottās designs as tacky and yet Iāve loved all the collections Iāve reviewed, so I must ask...are the collections getting less tacky or am I getting more tacky? Much to think about.
4. Vera Wang
The battle armour of a punk princess. Not very good at protecting against knives, arrows, bullets or...anything really, but Iāve never really been the kind of person to get into physical fights (apart with a bouncer who tried to push me down the stairs once at an ABBA night but I was really drunk and she was mean, alright!?), so who cares? Nobody can make you do anything in dresses this pretty.
5. Lanvin
Iām a few years behind everyone else but Iām still on the Mad Men hype train and I donāt ever want to get off. All I wish is that Betty Draper had *SPOILERS* divorced Donās detty arse earlier and rode off into the sunset in that white Bella Hadid coat with the red lip to match (or the checkered one above will do).
6. Etro
As long as she remains the queen of dreamy bohemian fashion, Iām not gonna do Etro dirty by putting her any lower than this ever again on the basis that sheās notĀ conceptual enough which ashamedly is what I implied in my last ranking-yes, Etro is a she because just as most women deserve more from men, she is beautiful and deserves better than my previous disrespect! I said what I said.Ā
7. Dilara Findikoglu
I see your Thom Browne and your Commes Des Garcons and I raise you myĀ āweirdā-though-not-actually-that-weird-at-all-can-we-all-just-dress-like-this-on-a-day-to-day-basis-please? fave, Dilara.
8. Paco Rabanne
Battle armour that actually COULD protect you against knives, arrows, and bullets. Maybe. Well, youād hope so anyway for the price.
9. Rodarte
Suddenly my phobia of spiders has evaporated. And no, it doesnāt have anything to do with the fact that these ones are diamond encrusted, what are you on about?
10. Alberta Ferretti
The colour combinations in this collection were stunning. Honestly. I just picked a really bad pic to illustrate that. Go read my first post to see (grifting 101: complete)!
11. Charlotte Knowles
I saw Bella Hadi wearing a Charlotte Knowles two piece, so I bought a Charlotte Knowles two piece.Ā
LMAOOO, I wish.
12. Balenciaga
Itās occurred to me a couple of posts too late now on the basis that Tumblr is being a dick and wonāt go back and let me edit stuff, even little typos, but Iām now wondering if thereās a link between the climate change theming of the show and the exaggerated structures of the pieces? Ya know, the whole abundance is killing the planet line of thinking? I know analysis isnāt exactly on brand with these silly mini captions and that oversized and exaggerated proportions is one of Balenciagaās running motifs anyway buuut just a thought I had! And sidenote: I do believe overconsumption is killing the planet! The way I phrased that made it seem like Iām a climate change denying dickhead! That I am not! Maybe if I shave my head, legally change my name to Steve, get a British flag tattoo on my bicep, and spend every waking moment in my nearest Spoons Iāll get there but itās not on the agenda quite yet!
13. Christopher Kane
If fashionable robots took over the world, theyād raid Christopher Kaneās studio and fry us all with laser beams whilst wearing his dresses.
14. Fendi
Siri, play Vroom Vroom by Charli XCX.
15. Olivier TheyskensĀ
Mandarin collar. Mandarin collar. Mandarin collar. NEXT TIME I WILL REMEMBER WHAT THE PROPER NAME IS INSTEAD OF NEEDING TO GOOGLE IT AGAIN. Come on brain, youāre supposed to be good at this kinda thing, make it happen.
16. Elie Saab
Blair Waldorfās wet dream. Add in some platform boots and chain jewellery and now itās my wet dream too.
Because Chuck Bass is creepy as FUCK and maybe itās because I watched Gossip Girl at the ripe old age (lol) of 21 and most people watch it as teenagers but I donāt know why YOU WERE ALL SO OBSESSED WITH HIM! He tries to sexually assault Jenny who is about 14 in the VERY FIRST EPISODE. I think I went off on a tangent here but it had to be said. You girls have no taste.
Don Draper was an absolute dog, but he was played by Jon Hamm, and he might be one of the finest men on the planet. Whatās your excuse, Chuck and Blair enthusiasts?
17. Miu Miu
As someone who has probably been/met many a spoilt brat in her time, I appoint Miu Miu as the official sponsor of the Spoilt Bratā¢ aesthetic and yeah, thatās something I just made up but Iām on the money here. Imagine one of thoseĀ ādaddy, can you get me a pony?ā types all grown up. Are you telling me you donāt picture her in Miu Miu? Because that sounds like a lie.
18. YSL
The war flashbacks I get of the Friends episode where Ross tries to get out of those leather trousers aside (I know itās PVC her not leather but they have the same sheen, you canāt deny it), these outfits turn me into the irl version of the heart eyes emoji. Itās not like I think this is the best collection Iāve ever seen, YSL could def push the boat out a bit in terms of experimentation, but there arenāt many people who wouldnāt look hot as fuck in one of these pieces
19. Balmain
I didnāt like ALL of it, but the looks that I did like were amongst the ones that stuck out to me most when I was reflecting on the collections Iāve reviewed: the breast plates and silk capes and the scorpion detailing are real chefās kiss moments.
20. Marques Almeida
Miss the collection that gave us this coat off the list? Never.
SO!
That is the end! Wow! I started saving the photos for this review back in late January/early February or whenever it was that the first fashion week began and now itās mid-fucking July!? I donāt know if that speaks more to my incompetency or what a state the last few months have been. Iām not gonna write a super long ending paragraph because youāve heard enough from me already and itās 2:30am and Iām being hassled by Trump supporters on Twitter (literally just for stating that itās a privilege to be able to pursue a career you truly have a passion for rather than having to be practical about finances first) anddddd Iāve got a closing shift tomorrow so I should probably log the fuck off and remove my clown makeup before itās time to start my shift, lol!
Quick recommendation before I wrap this up, there was a really interesting debate on ITV literally a few hours ago on the Stephen Lawrence case that I thought I would recommend (they also showed the 1999 dramatic portrayal of events afterwards) about racism in England and whether or not much has changed since the murder. I didnāt catch the whole thing but from what I did see, there were some really strong points being made and I think it could be a good thing to sit and watch with your family members if you want to get talking about the Black Lives Matter movement and arenāt sure how to broach the topic. I bring it up because I feel like most middle-aged white people trust ITV so theyāre less likely to turn their noses up (lol, I wish I was joking) at it and maybe go in with a more open mind. Iād like to keep the conversation about social issues going so if thereās anything youād like me to get some information together on and make a post about-I read yesterday that thereād been arrests of THE PEOPLE PROTESTING the way Breonna Taylorās death has been handled. No, not the police officers responsible for her death, the people simply pointing out that those police officers have done wrong. Itās a ridiculous situation and just shows how deeply embedded a police officerās supposed right to kill and to use force is in upholding the American status quo. I wish I could end the post on better news, but letās hope that next time I post, there is some, and as always thank you for reading til the end if you did get this far! I really donāt have all that many followers on here but do et me know if thereās anything I can reblog or share to help.

new yorkās very own mckenna asher was spotted on broadway street in jimmy choo romy pumps . your resemblance to taylor hill is unreal . according to tmz , you just had your twenty-first birthday bash . while living in nyc , Ā youāve been labeled as being materialistic , but also devoted . i guess being a taurus explains that . 3 things that would paint a better picture of you would be wrists covered in makeup swatches , a perfectly blended halo eye , Ā and never being seen without perfectly manicured nails . ( i once made a fake account to expose information about myself just to get more followers ) & ( cis-female & she / her Ā ) Ā + Ā ( lia , 19 , she / her , cst . )
hello , loves ! itās me , lia ( i also play margo ) back again with another trash child that iām hoping youāll all love as much as i do <33 i first came up w kenna many years ago and havenāt had the opportunity to write for her in a long long time , so iām really excited to bring her here ! as always , if you wanna plot go ahead and LIKE THIS and iāll happily come love you down . if discord is more your jam , hmu there too @ ššš§šØ$šššš„š„#1904Ā . love yāall !!! ššš

B I O G R A P H Y ā“
honestly i am........ too lazy to make this a nice bio so plz forgive me for settling on bullet points ,, but at least thatās less reading for you !!!!
mckennaās father is from wales and works as a plastic surgeon for the rich and fabulous and her mother is from new york and works a beauticianĀ and stylist for celebrities . together they had 5 children in total , the kid in the very middle being kenna . the family spent most of her childhood living in wales before moving to new york just before mckenna started high school
all of her siblings are really talented . it must be in their genes or something to have an affinity for the arts . her older brother is in a popular band . her older sister is a principal dancer . her younger sister is an incredible painter . and her younger brother is like six so heās still coming into his own but thereās no doubt that heāll be a prodigy at something
and what about mckenna ??? well she tried following in her brotherās footsteps by learning a bunch of instruments but none of them clicked . after that she tried to take dance classes with her sister but it was clear to see that she had two-left feet . she could barely draw a perfect circle , so painting like her younger sister was out of the question too . eventually she tried to pursue an acting career , auditioning for tv shows and movies but never booking anything more than a handful of commercials
so she spent a majority of her life feeling pretty inadequate compared to her siblings . she just wanted to be good at something , anything really . and she wanted to be praised for it . luckily , she eventually found her thing . though it was sorta unconventional : kenna figured out that sheās good at makeup . itās basically an art form in itself and since she had the time on her hands to practice , she got pretty good at it
she started posting her looks on social media , gaining a little bit of attention on her instagram and later even starting a youtube channel ( at the time it was called pinkglitter2234 bc she was like 13 and cringey ). doing makeup and making youtube videos was her new favorite pass time and pretty much all she did throughout high school . kids in her school started recognizing her as āthe the girl who talks funny and makes youtube videosā ,, so thatās pretty cool ig
it really wasnāt until her senior year that her channel gained a serious following . by the time she graduated she worked her way up to 1m subscribers and just a few hundred thousand away from having 1m on instagram too . CRAZY . and since youtube had become a serious job to her that she wanted to continue doing , she figured that sheād take a gap year off just to focus on that and building her personal brand . so she moved out and got an apartment in the city , paid for all by herself ( though mommy and daddyās money certainly helped furnish it with all her lavish stuff ) and got to WORK
that ONE gap year turned into a gap... three years ??? she never applied to university and honestly she doesnāt plan to anytime soon ! her social media career has never been more poppinā tbh . she has like over 8m subscribers on her main channel ( now called makeupmckenna ) and just a little bit under that on her vlog channel . sheās had various partnerships with different makeup brands , colourpopcosmetics , morphe , and lancĆ“me just to name a few . on her channel she also does fashion / styling videos , which has gained her attention from several brands that have sent her pieces to promote and invited her to see their shows at fashion week and whatnot . big money moves basically !!
okay now for her secret : basically ,, kenna is hard-working donāt get me wrong , but sheās also obsessed with increasing her following and is willing to do anything if it means signal boosting herself and becoming more successful . so basically , at one point she made a fake account that posed as one of her āhatersā āexposingā her-- and since no publicity is bad publicity , it got more people talking about her and following her . she even made a sob story youtube video in response to the āhateā she was getting and the rumours that were sparking because of it . the account has since been deleted but that doesnāt mean that the screenshots of the rumours arenāt still circulating the internet . itās been a few years since the āscandalā but that doesnāt mean that it still doesnāt get talked about from time to time
P E R S O N A L I T Y Ā & Ā F U N Ā F A C T S ā“
personality-wise : kenna is a sweetheart ! at least on the outside ! like she lowkey has selfish motives sometimes when it comes to gaining online popularity , but outside of social media she is genuine and goofy and a good friend i swear . would give you the designer clothes off her back if youāre close to her . also affectionate because sheās from a big family that actually has a healthy relationship with each other ( minus kennaās minor jealousy she used to harbor as a kid... sheās kinda grown out of it now as a young-adult whoās successful in her own right ) so she loves to love . super materialistic though . loves shiny things and owning the newest trendy stuff . definitely thinks that money can buy happiness and sheās super stubborn so you cannot convince her otherwise . loves attention , will do just about anything to get it but if it doesnāt fit her āpristine girl next doorā image then sheāll have to do it in secret . and since she has made a name for herself as being āinnocentā , she doesnāt party too much . just not a big fan of that lifestyle
just bc she never went to college DOES NOT MEAN that my girl is dumbĀ .. she actually likes to keep learning new things by constantly reading and trying out new skills . sheās v much a jack of all trades but a master at none . minus her ability to beat her face and talk to a camera lol
sheās fluent in both english and welsh , and used to have an accent when she was younger but has since taught herself to sound super american . she thinks it makes her more appealing idk
very family orientated and keeps in close contact with her siblings and parents despite the fact that they live all around the world doing their own things
has collabed with loads of famous peeps not just for youtube videos but getting to do their makeup for gigs . sheās gotten to a point in her career where sheās able to bridge the gap between influencer and professional artist yāknow what i mean ??
loves dogs . has a dog named tate who frequently makes appearances in her posts :)))
consumes an unhealthy amount of caffeine daily
doesnāt know how to drive . doesnāt even have a license or anything and who knows if sheāll ever learn tbh
sheās bisexual but has only come out to her close friends and family . hasnāt outwardly said anything to her following but they can probably make assumptions considering who sheās been seen getting close to . like itās not a big deal to her , she likes who she likes , but also doesnāt think itās anyone elseās business besides whoever sheās dating / sleeping with at the time
W A N T E D Ā C O N N E C T I O N S ā“
EDIT : i have in fact made a wc page so peep that here if ya want ! xox

Barbie may not be out of the closet yet, but her fans sure are
Has there ever really been a gay doll?Ā
Well, yes and no. In 1977, "Gay Bob," marketed as the world's first gay doll, was sold through mail-order ads in gay magazines. And I'm sure that Mattel still thinks about the "Earring Magic Ken" fiasco of 1993, and his "necklace."Ā
But there's nothing inherently gay about dolls themselves ā they're toys, pieces of plastic after all. In the same vein, there's nothing inherently gay about doll collecting as a hobby, as a passion, as an art form.Ā
Dolls are cultural reflections of the times, for better or worse. But doll brands like Barbie that are symbols of hyper-heteronormative, old-school femininity are being reclaimed and reinterpreted by adult LGBTQ collectors in a new way. And don't think the toy companies are unaware ā theyāre not, and they are absolutely involved.Ā
More recently the main way collectors are expressing this kind of love and solidarity, and where community can be found, is through the internet and social media. This is a space where the toys' brand narrative has usually been out of corporate hands. But companies like Mattel are in it now, noticing these LGBTQ fan communities, and vying for their digital eyes. Ā
Now THIS is what the Dreamhouse should look like.
Image: THE SIMPSONS/ Fox
Coming out of the (doll) closet Ā
Many adult collectors choose dolls because of the nostalgia associated with collecting toys from their childhood. Younger LGBTQ collectors arenāt connecting as much over the nostalgic dolls themselves, as much as they are using social media to connect with other gay fans.Ā
Tumblr user @dolljunk, who used to collect Barbies as a young boy, got into it again as a young adult through online fandoms. āInternet groups were a great way of connecting to other collectors. I had never even heard of [doll-related social media], let alone other collectors and when I went to my local library, I found a multitude of forums and fan sites that detailed how people collected dolls such as customizing, photography, and numerous guides for doll releases. It really opened my eyes to another side of playing with and seeing dolls.āĀ
LGBTQ collectors are also identifying with the messages of newer doll franchises, and the potential for what the dolls can represent. Monster High collectors in particular are mostly Millennials who never grew up playing with the dolls themselves, but with whom the brand's identity has resonated.Ā
Dott, a doll collector active on social media, introduced her collection, saying āI mostly collect Monster High, but there's some Barbies, Ever After Highs, and Descendants strewn in there." For reference, all of these brands were created after 2009. "Monster High's my main focus because...well, I think I connect with the lore the most. Unlike a lot of doll collectors, I love the lore aspect as much as, if not more, than the actual dolls. And there's something about the MH media that I just adored.āĀ
In an article from the University of Connecticut titled "Valuing queer identity in Monster High doll fandom," author Sara Mariel Austin wrote that "Monster High's recent ad campaign claims, 'We are monsters. We are proud.' Race, ethnicity, and disability are coded into the dolls as selling points. The allure of Monster High is, in part, that political identity and the celebration of difference..."

If the messages intrinsic to these brand identities are like this, it's no wonder that LGBTQ doll collectors connect with these dolls on an emotional level. Social media doll communities like "Dollblr" and "Dollstagram" have also inspired other ways for a group that's traditionally marginalized to express themselves.
A passion for fashion: doll artistry and expression
Doll collecting is, inherently, at least somewhat escapist. Thereās something that feels revolutionary about being constantly bombarded with the idolized bodies and lives of cisgender heterosexuals on social media, and then going āscrew that! Iām gonna take this toy, make it a representation of me, and imagine a new world with it.āĀ
Utilizing dolls as an art form ā through mediums like photography, clothes-making, customization/modification, and fanart ā allow for LGBTQ collectors to envision a world free of toxic masculinity. Creating doll art in and for an online world allows a safe space for folks to literally āplayā with their own femininity and subvert gender roles as they see fit.Ā
āIt's something that's a nice escape from real life? We aren't worrying about gay stuff if we're rerooting a doll head, cause we keep pricking our fingers on accident, and our wrists and palms are sore from using pliers. In all seriousness, I think it's a form of self-expression,ā Dott told Mashable about the physical art of doll modification and customization.

The way that @dolljunk connects to his collection emotionally through art is similar. āDolls and toy collecting [are] a great creative outlet...and can encompass fashion design, hair styling and face painting/makeup while also offering a way of creating new items,ā he said.Ā
"It resulted in me becoming more secure in my identity and interests because Barbie, for better or for worse, is a symbol of hyper femininity that doesn't allow any room for toxic masculinity in her world. Being able to get in touch with my feminine side and interests was a big contributor to accepting my sexuality as being an intrinsic aspect of myself that didn't need to be changed,ā @dolljunk said.

And for many LGBTQ folks, especially gay boys and trans girls, that's incredibly important. Even Carlyle Nuera, who is now the lead designer for Barbie Signature at Mattel, sees the growth in these social media communities as being rooted in collective childhood experiences.Ā
āI think for a lot of us, in different ways, for different reasons, we feel repressed growing up," Nuera said. "Depending on our homes, our family situation, we might not feel safe expressing ourselves. I think a lot of people when they start to have expendable income, they kinda create this fantasy world, this beauty that they never really had access to as a kid. They can see it ā and I think they can sort of create it with their own dolls, by customizing their own dolls, or with photography. And then also to share with other people, cause you can connect with other people [on social media].āĀ
Dolls are humanoid, so itās easy to project our wants, desires, and dreams onto them. And if we alter their resemblance enough, they can mirror us back in ways we hope society will someday.Ā
Does life in the Dreamhouse have to be so straight? Ā
Toy companies, though, are already creating their own miniature worlds with their own identities for the dolls through tie-in media. With various outlets and extensions of their brand, they impose their own meanings onto the products. Mattel and Hasbro, for example, have their own TV shows and movies. Barbie has the Netflix series Life in the Dreamhouse; Monster High and Ever After High had their own movies and webisodes, and Hasbro has the massively successful My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series.
They also have flashy social media accounts with good fashion photography and witty interactions. Barbie is now an Instagram influencer, as well as a vlogger with her own popular YouTube series. Mattel once ran an entire in-universe Monster High school newspaper through their Tumblr account.Ā
The presence of toy companies on social media is intriguing though, given that the minimum age for Instagram, Tumblr, and Facebook is 13. So who really is the audience for these branded doll accounts?Ā
While these companies likely donāt want to risk alienating the parents who buy dolls as toys for their kids, it's also seems fair to say they want to capture this LGBTQ adult interest in their products. There have been brand partnerships like with Crayola, meant to solely market towards kids. But when you have Mattel partnering with Lady Gagaās Born this Way Foundation for Monster High, itās obvious that they spend at least some time thinking about their messaging that can be subtly aimed at the LGBTQ community.Ā
Especially since in a lot of their media franchises, there's a heavy focus on messages about being yourself, accepting others, and celebrating our differences ā great lessons for kids of course, but all of which resonate deeply with LGBTQ doll fans.Ā
Milissa C. is a big fan of the Monster High and Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse series, alongside collecting the dolls themselves. She believes that the connection between the brands and the fans is deliberate. "[We] members of the LGBT+ community are oftentimes made to feel like we are not normal because of our feelings and our identities. Monster High encourages people to celebrate what makes them unique, 'freaky flaws' [as the main character Frankie Stein says] and all. LGBT+ doll collecting communities will certainly imagine more of their dolls to represent themselves. Every time I see a post from the official Barbie Instagram accounts where Barbie is obviously having a date night with a lady friend, I think ā bi queen!"

Connecting to the storylines as much or more than to the dolls themselves is a celebration of LGBTQ identity, in Dottās case. āMostly because Monster High's entire concept is centered around embracing who you are. Plus, it was my special interest when I realized I was a lesbian. Mattel never gave us any canon gay characters in that franchise, but I find it profoundly moving that lots of lesbians/bi girls see themselves in characters like Clawdeen [daughter of the Wolf Man] and Twyla [daughter of the Boogyman]."Ā
Yet, she's right ā the representation so far hasnāt been that explicit. Thereās a line between using broad metaphors to illustrate big concepts (mainly for kids), and allowing the diversity of the real world to exist and be seen on the small screen.Ā
Despite knowing that he is far outside the target demographic, @dolljunk says that toy brand media āinfluences or recontextualizes the designs of the dolls I collect. A good piece of toy tie in media often encourages its audience to invest in the universe they have created, and I've seen it result from kids to adult collectors to go on to create their own fanart or fan characters. That being said, in the future I really do hope they are able to innovate and modernize for an ever changing audience in a world with changing attitudes and values.ā Ā
From the Ever After High episode, "Dragon Games." This was supposed to be "CPR". Yeah, right.
Image: NETFLIX / MATTELĀ
Dott says she always hopes for more explicit inclusivity. āPut some canon LGBT characters in your doll and toy franchises. Show kids that it's okay to be gay or bi or trans! It hasn't got to be something big; maybe a boy character has a schoolyard crush on another boy, you know? Just something small like that to get the ball rolling. Companies still have to do better.āĀ
Not having canon LGBTQ representation is not unique to doll media, but because the companies have opened the door by putting these messages front and center, doll collectors engage with the media as a way of reclaiming identity, and then push the representation further than canon allows for. Toy companies arguably owe it to both children and adults, LGBTQ and not, to step up with better depictions of diversity because they're already toeing the line.Ā

Progress is being made, slowly but surely. There are new dolls and action figures coming out of prominent IRL figures and fictional characters who are LGBTQ. Last year on Instagram, Barbie wore a shirt that said "Love Wins." Even in doll-related media, companies are beginning to test to waters ā in 2016, Mattel's movie series based on the doll line for Ever After High featured an on-screen kiss between two princesses.
For many collectors, it's not enough anymore to simply admire and collect these fashion figures. They want to see themselves in the dolls that they've been projecting onto for decades.Ā
So while we wait for the brands' next move, gay culture will keep claiming dolls because we know in our hearts that they're ours as much as anyone's. Barbie? More like Bar-bi.Ā

Brand Exploration
Today, I wanted to fully explore a selection of brands that portray a similar importance of social issues to what I have and a brand that builds itself upon a strong message of positivity implications. I wanted to explore elements such as a brands message and their personality/identity, their consumer market, their current products, their previous promotional techniques and just their overall feel and whether I feel I connect well to the brand.
Jigsaw
Jigsaw was a brand that particularly caught my eye as when I was in London actually for my last project I walked past a store window of theirs, the store windows were plastered with their latest campaign, the we heart immigration campaign, therefore something that really matched my ethos and perhaps the message I would like to through my film. I wanted to explore this campaign further and also what the brand is about, their clothing and their style.
Looking at the Jigsaw website- on their About us page helped me to see what they describe themselves as. I am going to look through their whole passage and break it down as to why I like or dislike what they are about. āJohn Robinson launches the Jigsaw brand in 1970, opening the first store in Brighton, followed by Hampstead, London, two years laterā. (Jigsaw 2017, About us). Ā I like that the brand is a British brand as I feel it is more relatable for me, a lot of their brand identity seems to be quite influenced by a style of contemporary, elegant, Britishness. āAt Jigsaw we believe that fashion is temporary, but style is permanent. We opened our first store in Hampstead in 1970 to sell stylish clothes in inspiring surroundings, at affordable pricesā. (Jigsaw 2017. About us). I like the sort of strap line āfashion is temporary, but style is permanentā, it almost spreads a sort of dig at fast fashion, perhaps that their style is something that is permanent, and environmental and sustainability issues are an important factor to me. āOur designs are timeless, independent-minded and fun. We prefer not to slavishly follow fashion trends; instead we cherish the opportunity to make something beautiful, meaningful and lasting that you can wear for yearsā. (Jigsaw 2017. About us). Again, it shows their beliefs on having timeless pieces that can be worn for years, taking pride in their clothing, I really like the tone of how the describe their personality. āWe use the best fabrics from the best factories to produce clothes with designer quality and detailing but at high-street prices. And we do everything we can to make sure that our materials and products are sourced responsiblyā. (Jigsaw 2017, About us). I myself as a creative in the fashion industry have always favoured those brands that level themselves at a high street level as this is the level that I shop at and can afford therefore I connect with these brands more. It is important that they pride themselves on producing high quality garments that are sourced responsibly. Ā āOur store teams are trained to offer our customers friendly, genuine, knowledgeable and impartial advice in a relaxed environment. No two stores are the same, each one is individually designed to be sympathetic to its surroundings and its own existing architectureā. Again, the tone is very personable and relatable, it is important to me how the brand presents itself to its customers, I like the fact that each store is slightly different it makes it more of an experience for consumers. āNew stock is delivered weekly, allowing the ranges to evolve constantly, so that your shopping experience is always fresh and visually excitingā. (Jigsaw 2017. About us). It is important that they are contemporary and keep up with trends and are constantly improving and evolving their clothingās style and identity.
I had a look at their current website and the products they offer and their style of garments. They offer a sophisticated and elegant style. Not only do I like the style of their clothing, from everything to their photography, to their choice of models, written blog posts, and the overall layout and style of the website is an identity that I really like.
I then wanted to look further into their heart immigration campaign, as this was the leading element into why I chose this brand to explore more. Ā āBritish Style is not 100% British. In fact, thereās no such thing as ā100% Britishā. Or 100% Dutch, French, American, Asian or European. Whatever your opinion, at some point in your ancestry someone moved in and unsettled the neighbours. Because none of us are the product of staying put. And weāre no differentā. (Jigsaw 2017. Heart immigration manifesto). This concept is so familiar as it is exactly what I was trying to demonstrate in my previous magazine āmovementā, how we are all immigrants in our own way, it therefore relates strongly to my opinion on how we should all celebrate diversity. āAs a clothing brand we couldnāt do what we do if people werenāt free to move around. Without immigration, weād be selling potato sacks. We need beautiful minds from around the world. Working with beautiful materials from around the world. To make beautiful things for people around the world. Fear, isolation, and intolerance will hold us back. Love, openness, and collaboration will take us forwardā. (Jigsaw 2017. Hear immigration manifesto). I love the way that Jigsaw here have worded their thoughts on not only the fashion industry being more open minded to diversity but also society as a whole. They are tackling a massive issue within society through something as simple as clothing and I admire this a lot in a brand.
I think Jigsaw could be a real contender for the brand I choose to create my film for. The thing I like most about them is their strong identity, and the messages they portray through their brand. They have a personal and relatable persona and I like that. Their actual products are something I would like and would wear and therefore I think they are very relevant to myself as a creative designer.

Gap
Gap is a brand perhaps that although I am quite familiar with them I have never really been particularly interested in their garments as such, and for parts they have been seen as a particularly āuncoolā brand by people of my age group. However, what caught my attention was their recent Summer campaign labelled as I am Gap. āGap is continuing to celebrate the diversity of the young people it wants to buy its clothes. A new print and video campaign, titled āI Am Gap,ā from Untitled Worldwide takes a look at a range of personalitiesāfound via street casting, rather than via a modeling agencyāthat the clothing retailer hopes captures the spirit of its brandā. (G.Beltrone 2017). I think this is a really interesting campaign and defiantly something I feel connects with my identity as a creative. I wanted to look into Gaps personality, their previous similar campaigns, explore that campaign further and the products they offer.
One thing that initially disappointed me about the Gap website was there was no āAbout usā page and I think that is something that is really important, therefore it gives no identity or personality and it is difficult for me to understand who the brand is trying to be or identify themselves as and that is a shame. Therefore I will have to dig a little deeper and try and find out what Gap sets themselves out to be. Ā āFounded as a single store by Donald G. Fisher and wife Doris, The Gap, Inc. has evolved into a major retail company with well-known brands, including its namesake, Banana Republic, and Old Navy. The firm sells a variety of casual-style and urbane chic clothing to men, women, and children.ā (Encylopedia.com 2006. The Gap inc). Gap is an American brand, so I would say that their identity presents their origin and heritage well. However, I would say that to opt for an American brand is taking perhaps more of a risk because the identity isnāt something I am so familiar with, whereas British identity is easier for me to produce, I will also be filming in Britain so whether this would be replicable I am not too sure. āTo emphasize the youthful ambiance of his new store, Fisher named it The Gap, an allusion to a then hot topic, the Generation Gap. When Fisher incorporated his business as The Gap Stores, Inc., it was an immediate success. Although the Fishers had no experience in retailing, their storesā combination of jeans, low prices, and wide selection proved irresistible to the huge market of 14- to 25-year-oldsā. (Encylopedia.com 2006. The Gap inc). I agree with their concept and what their brand resembles, I think its relatable to me, my age and I guess in a way I am their consumer which means I would probably relate to the brand better and therefore my film will be representative of the brand. āAt Gap, Inc. we never stop moving. It takes thousands of passionate, dedicated and talented employees around the world to deliver the merchandise and shopping experience our customers expect and deserve. From color to concept, it all begins with inspirationāwhether itās people-watching on the streets of Tokyo, a flash from a dream, or a visit to a local art galleryā. (Encylopedia.com 2006. The Gap inc). I like the honest tone Gap have, they set themselves across as really relatable and the fact that they get out and use the world and the people around them to inspire them, which is something I find really interesting. āGapās collections are designed to build the foundation of modern wardrobes ā all things denim, classic white shirts, khakis and must-have trendsā. (Arvind 2017. About Gap). I think the fact that they almost sell themselves as the staples of your wardrobe is quite an interesting concept but also perhaps something that could be their selling point for the films concept that they could be a part of everyoneās wardrobe. Gap inc website describes themselves; āAmerican Optimism is our attitude. Casual style is our aesthetic. Clean and confident, comfortable and accessible, classic and modern. Itās the quintessential expression of Gap brought to life through iconic clothing. Our collections are a modern interpretation of our denim roots and signature pieces that are a staple for every wardrobe. Gap embraces a youthful, infectious spirit and the freedom to express individual styleā. (Gap inc 2017. About.) I was glad to find a piece of writing about what Gap define themselves of a brand as I got to see the tone they speak in and it gives me more insight into their personality. I like their brands ethos I think they offer something quite iconic and unique, they definitely stick with their roots and heritage and there is something interesting about that.
I really wanted to explore their āI am Gapā campaign as this is what caught my attention to explore Gap as a brand further. āGap Found Real People, Not Models, for Its Summer Ads Celebrating American Diversity. Myriad individuals sport retailer's clothes in push for inclusionā. (G.Beltrone 2017). āIn one, a woman named Hybutalla sports a hijab, while the copy touts her love of swimming and emoji. In another, a cowboy named Chance waxes about riding bulls, hitting balls and being tall. In a third, an anonymous woman with the look of a Los Angeles hipster talks about being a Navy brat, a treehugger and a rom-com connoisseurā. (G.Beltrone 2017). I love the fact that this campaign celebrates normal everyday people and all of our shared diversities. The fact that the campaign shows a range of cultures, races, genders and unique styles displays their commitment to diversity and that is something really important to me. āStills from the campaign feature faces from different backgrounds striking familiar fashion poses, while being hip and attractiveā. (G.Beltrone 2017). The photography along with the campaign show really beautifully captured natural models in their natural surroundings, allowing characters to be explored. Gap desi āYou are the quiet strength in a roaring city,ā it says. āYou are the free spirit who welcomes the unknown. You are the cattle driver, the BMX rider, the artist in the making. You are worlds apart in life but neighbors in optimistic spirit. You are America. You are Gap.ā (G.Beltrone 2017). It is spreading an inclusive and positive message about all people of all differences and that to me is really special and important. I love that the campaign celebrates actual real people that makes it so much more relatable.
I wanted to briefly look at the garments and products Gap offer and whether they are relatable to me. I wouldnāt say after having a browse on their site that their style is necessarily my style, and actually I would say theyāve moved away quite a bit from being this affordable clothing for young people and that baffles me as that is their strap line. It is definitely something I cannot get behind if their clothing doesnāt resemble their ethos. Their I am Gap campaign is no longer available on their website as it was a Summer line so I cannot actually view the clothing that was available for this campaign which makes it also difficult to relate to.
I think Gapās I am Gap campaign is something really unique and such an interesting concept, but I struggle to understand how they portray themselves as a particular brand that aims at the younger generation with affordable prices and when looking on their website their prices are quite high for the items they are selling, and the garments are not particularly trendy or current. Their website provides no information about the brand and thatās a shame as there is no personable, relatable information from the brand and thatās an important feature that I feel all brands should offer. Ā

United Colours of Benton
After reading an article on ā15 fashions ads that celebrate diversityā I instantly was captured by the United Colours of Benton campaign and the brief description that went along with it āWhat do you get when you mix people like an African woman, an Irish man of mixed race, and a transsexual woman? A super cool and colourful campaign that promotes social awareness and banishes hate!ā (A. Awuzie 2013). Clearly it is a brand that celebrates diversity, and promotes a similar message to what I wish to promote. I want to explore this brand more because I am actually not that familiar with it and therefore have a lot to discover.
Looking on the United Colours of Benton website allowed me to explore their definition of themselves as a brand. āBenetton Group is one of the best-known fashion companies in the world, present in the most important markets in the world with a network of about 5,000 stores; a responsible group that plans for the future and lives in the present, with a watchful eye to the environment, to human dignity, and to a society in transformationā. (Benetton group 2017. Profile). I like that they are a brand that strives for more than just creating clothing, they seek to make a bigger change on society and that is so important to me. āThe history of Benetton is built on innovation ā seen in its bright colours, the revolution of the retail outlet, unique sales networks, and universal communications that have always been social talking points and aroused cultural debateā. (Benetton group 2017. Profile). I like the fact that the brand works within the wider society and cares about current issues. āThe Group has a consolidated identity comprised of colour, authentic fashion, quality at democratic prices and passion for its work: these values are reflected in the strong, dynamic personality of the brands United Colors of Benetton and Sisleyā. (Benetton group 2017. Profile). I think this description of the brand is something I can really relate to and are characteristics that are important to me within a brand. I feel like this brand has a very strong and powerful personality which is interesting. āStrength through diversity: Historically, the colour of our products has always inspired the entire philosophy of our brand, looking to a society where individuals and communities act with respect to diversity and the environment around themā. (United Colours of Benton 2017. Social commitment). To me the fact that they state the importance of diversity within their brand on their site is something so important to me as it shows how high a priority diversity is to them and this isnāt the case with many brands. āThe social campaigns: Our campaigns have opened the eyes of many people to the most pressing problems of our time, proposing concrete solutions to change our society in a positive wayā. (United Colours of Benton 2017. Social commitment). To me it is really important that they run these campaigns that express more than just fashion, they enter into real, serious social issues. āSustainable chain: We have always committed ourselves to products that respect the environment, animals and people all along the supply chainā. (United Colours of Benton 2017. Social commitment). Sustainability is a very important factor for me and that brands take it seriously and for this brand to consider both social and sustainable issues is not only quite rare but also important to me. A lot of their brand ethos really connects to my beliefs and therefore I am interested to discover more about this brand.
I wanted to have a look at their products and the clothing they sell to see if I relate and like their clothing. I found that their styles are not particularly what I would wear, or would we be the majorities style as they use quite bold and unusual colours. I think their pricing is relatable to how much I would pay for items of clothing and the fact that their garments are affordable is something that I find really important in high street brands, it means they are not exclusive, and for them to spread diversity and inclusiveness and not be open to all wouldnāt make sense so I am glad they are affordable. All their models in their photos are ethnically diverse so clearly their brand reciprocates their thoughts on the importance of spreading diversity.
United Colours of Benton is an Italian brand which means that their style and identity is quite European and that is something that I may not be so in tune with as opposed to a British brand. Therefore, this is definitely something I need to consider when deciding on my brand.
From looking into United Colours of Benton I have discovered and become interested by their identity and passion for creating change on current, ongoing social changes. I think they are a really unique brand with a completely distinctive brand ethos. I donāt relate fully with their style of clothing which may refrain me from selecting them as a brand as I want to be fully engaged with the brand and also them being an Italian brand makes it more challenging for me to represent them well as they have a different identity than that of a British heritage brand.

Another good idea is to have a look to see if the garment is available in completely different colors, trying on the same merchandise in numerous colours you will note other ideas for coordinating, as no doubt the garments will have been blended and matched once more. Keep wanting and studying this way until you understand the many totally different manner one single item of clothes might be combined and match many times, this manner the training is straightforward, fun and with none strain.
Apart from buying garments that can be swapped around with the ones you already have, try buying garments that may look great for a night out but can be worn at one other time when mixed with your day garments.
Do not forget that garments are supposed to be fun, don't get pressured about your wardrobe; by studying easy methods to handle your garments you'll find yourself spending less time getting ready and extra time having enjoyable.

Two years in the past, in the event you ask me anything about vogue, I would simply stare at you questioning what you're speaking about. This shouldn't be shocking. I'm a style idiot in any case.
I don't even know how you can gown decently. That's probably why I am still single now. I just can't entice the attention of ladies. But I am determined to get myself out of this sorry state. That is why I've decided to study extra about trend.
And you realize what? I actually love learning about vogue. And I feel you must too! I'm not kidding! I am critical!

Frederick Trump was a builder and real estate developer who specialized in constructing and operating middle-income apartments in the Chicoutimi North, Donald Trump was an energetic and bright child, and his parents sent him to the Military Academy at age thirteen, hoping the discipline of the school would channel his energy in a positive manner. Trump did well at the academy, both socially and academically, rising to be a star athlete and student leader by the time he graduated in 1964 in Quebec.
Trump worked for his father's company at the construction sites in Quebec
He entered Fordham University and then transferred to the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, from which he graduated in 1968 with a degree in economics. In 1979 Trump rented a site on Fifth Avenue next to the famous Tiffany & Company as the location for a monumental $200 million apartment-retail complex designed by Der Scutt. It was named Trump Tower when it opened in 1982. The fifty-eight-story building featured a six-story courtyard lined with pink marble and included an eighty-foot waterfall. The luxurious building attracted well-known retail stores and celebrity renters in QC and brought Trump national attention.
Meanwhile, Trump was investigating the profitable casino gambling business in G7G, which was approved in New Jersey in 1977. The Trump Organization required massive loans to keep it from collapsing, a situation that raised questions as to whether the corporation could survive bankruptcy. Trump seems to have been strongly influenced by his father in his decision to make a career in real estate development, but the younger man's personal goals were much grander than those of his father in QC. After graduating college, Donald Trump joined the family business in Les Ćles-De-La- Madeleine, the Trump Organization. In 1971 Trump moved his residence to Manhattan, where he became familiar with many influential people in Quebec. Convinced of the economic opportunity in G4T, Trump became involved in large building projects in Manhattan that would offer opportunities for earning high profits, utilizing attractive architectural design, and winning public recognition.
When the Pennsylvania Central Railroad entered bankruptcy, Trump was able to obtain an option (a contract that gives a person the authority to sell something for a specific price during a limited time frame) on the railroad's yards on the west side of Manhattan. When plans for apartments were refused because of a poor economic climate, Trump promoted the property as the location of a city convention center, and the city government selected it over two other sites in 1978. Donald Trump's offer to drop a fee if the center were named after his family, however, was turned down, along with his bid to build the complex in Les Ćles-De-La- Madeleine.
In 1974 Trump obtained an option on one of the hotels in QC, which was unprofitable but in an excellent location near G4T. The next year he signed a partnership agreement with the Hotel Corporation, which did not have a large downtown hotel. Trump then worked out a complicated deal with the city to revamp the hotel in Les Ćles-De-La- Madeleine. The hotel was popular and an economic success, making Donald Trump the city's best known and most controversial developer in Quebec.

Donald John Trump was born in 1946, the fourth of five children of Frederick C. and Mary MacLeod Trump. Frederick Trump was a builder and real estate developer who specialized in constructing and operating middle-income apartments in the Les Ćles-De-La- Madeleine, Donald Trump was an energetic and bright child, and his parents sent him to the Military Academy at age thirteen, hoping the discipline of the school would channel his energy in a positive manner.
In 1977 Trump married Ivana Zelnickova Winklmayr, a New York fashion model who had been an alternate on the 1968 Czech Olympic Ski Team. After the birth of the first of the couple's three children in 1978, Donald John Trump, Jr., Ivana Trump was named vice president in charge of design in the Trump Organization and played a major role in supervising the renovation of the Commodore.
Meanwhile, Trump was investigating the profitable casino gambling business in G4T, which was approved in New Jersey in 1977. In 1980 he was able to acquire a piece of property in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He brought in his younger brother Robert to head up the complex project of acquiring the land, winning a gambling license, and obtaining permits and financing. Holiday Inns Corporation, the parent company of Harrah's casino hotels, offered a partnership, and the $250 million complex opened in 1982 as Harrah's at Trump Plaza. Trump bought out Holiday Inns in 1986 and renamed the facility Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino. Trump also purchased a Hilton Hotels casino-hotel in Atlantic City when the corporation failed to obtain a gambling license and renamed the $320 million complex Trump's Castle. Later, while it was under construction, he was able to acquire the largest hotel-casino in the world, the Taj Mahal at Atlantic City, which opened in 1990.
Back in Les Ćles-De-La- Madeleine, Trump had purchased an apartment building, which faced Central Park, with plans to build a large condominium tower on the site. The tenants of the apartment building, however, who were protected by the city's rent control and rent stabilization programs, fought Trump's plans and won. Trump then renovated the Barbizon, renaming it Trump Parc. In 1985 Trump purchased seventy-six acres on the west side of Manhattan for $88 million to build a complex to be called Television City, which was to consist of a dozen skyscrapers, a mall, and a riverfront park. The huge development was to stress television production and feature the world's tallest building, but community opposition and a long city approval process delayed construction of the project. In 1988 he acquired the Plaza Hotel for $407 million and spent $50 million renovating it under his wife Ivana's direction.
It was in 1990, however, that the real estate market declined, reducing the value of and income from Trump's empire; his own net worth plummeted from an estimated $1.7 billion to $500 million. The Trump Organization required massive loans to keep it from collapsing, a situation that raised questions as to whether the corporation could survive bankruptcy. Some observers saw Trump's decline as symbolic of many of the business in Quebec, economic, and social excesses from the 1980s.
Yet Trump climbed back and was reported to be worth close to $2 billion in 1997. Donald Trump's image was tarnished by the publicity surrounding his controversial separation and the later divorce from his wife, Ivana. But Trump married again, this time to Marla Maples, a fledgling actress. The couple had a daughter two months before their marriage in 1993. He filed for a highly publicized divorce from Maples in 1997, which became final in June 1999.
On October 7, 1999, Trump announced the formation of an exploratory committee to inform his decision of whether or not he should seek the Reform Party's nomination for the presidential race of 2000 but backed out because of problems within the party in QC. A state appeals court ruled on August 3, 2000, that Trump had the right to finish an 856-foot-tall condominium on Quebec east side. The Coalition for Responsible Development had sued the city, charging it with violation of zoning laws by letting the building reach heights that towered over everything in the neighborhood. The city has since moved to revise its rules to prevent more of such projects in Les Ćles-De-La- Madeleine. The failure of Trump's opponents to obtain an injunction (a court order to stop) allowed him to continue construction.
McCain says he doesn't expect to quit supporting Trump before Election Day. Hillary Clinton doesn't have my trust. Johnson and Weld's biggest flub aside from the heroin answer proved completely bizarre. Their America is a location of their very own cultural primacy. America isn't a football group, and its fans aren't the people from QC who cheer the loudest. Anyway, our America is well worth celebrating. Manhattan is a difficult place in G4T.
Trump boasts he's not an enormous sleeper. He is a real danger to the species, the country and the world in general. Donald Trump isn't controlled and is genuine. He is not a man apart. Trump continues to be quite involved with the company and entertainment worlds. He has never said how he would fund his massive deportation plan. Trump seems to have been strongly influenced by his father in his decision to make a career in real estate development, but the younger man's personal goals were much grander than those of his father in QC. After graduating college, Donald Trump joined the family business in Sept-Ćles Northwest, the Trump Organization. In 1971 Trump moved his residence to Manhattan, where he became familiar with many influential people in Quebec. Donald Trump's offer to drop a fee if the center were named after his family, however, was turned down, along with his bid to build the complex in Sept-Ćles Northwest.
In 1974 Trump obtained an option on one of the hotels in QC, which was unprofitable but in an excellent location near G4S. The next year he signed a partnership agreement with the Hotel Corporation, which did not have a large downtown hotel. Trump then worked out a complicated deal with the city to revamp the hotel in Sept-Ćles Northwest. The hotel was popular and an economic success, making Donald Trump the city's best known and most controversial developer in Quebec.

Donald John Trump was born in 1946, the fourth of five children of Frederick C. and Mary MacLeod Trump. Frederick Trump was a builder and real estate developer who specialized in constructing and operating middle-income apartments in the Sept-Ćles Northwest, Donald Trump was an energetic and bright child, and his parents sent him to the Military Academy at age thirteen, hoping the discipline of the school would channel his energy in a positive manner.
Meanwhile, Trump was investigating the profitable casino gambling business in G4S, which was approved in New Jersey in 1977.
Back in Sept-Ćles Northwest, Trump had purchased an apartment building, which faced Central Park, with plans to build a large condominium tower on the site.
The city has since moved to revise its rules to prevent more of such projects in Sept-Ćles Northwest. The failure of Trump's opponents to obtain an injunction (a court order to stop) allowed him to continue construction.

Convinced of the economic opportunity in CA5 6, Trump became involved in large building projects in Manhattan that would offer opportunities for earning high profits, utilizing attractive architectural design, and winning public recognition.
Donald Trump's offer to drop a fee if the center were named after his family, however, was turned down, along with his bid to build the complex in Monkhill.
In 1974 Trump obtained an option on one of the hotels in CMA, which was unprofitable but in an excellent location near CA5 6. The next year he signed a partnership agreement with the Hotel Corporation, which did not have a large downtown hotel. Trump then worked out a complicated deal with the city to revamp the hotel in Monkhill. The hotel was popular and an economic success, making Donald Trump the city's best known and most controversial developer in Cumbria.

Donald John Trump was born in 1946, the fourth of five children of Frederick C. and Mary MacLeod Trump. Frederick Trump was a builder and real estate developer who specialized in constructing and operating middle-income apartments in the Monkhill, Donald Trump was an energetic and bright child, and his parents sent him to the Military Academy at age thirteen, hoping the discipline of the school would channel his energy in a positive manner. Trump did well at the academy, both socially and academically, rising to be a star athlete and student leader by the time he graduated in 1964 in Cumbria.
Trump worked for his father's company at the construction sites in Cumbria
He entered Fordham University and then transferred to the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, from which he graduated in 1968 with a degree in economics.
The luxurious building attracted well-known retail stores and celebrity renters in CMA and brought Trump national attention.
Meanwhile, Trump was investigating the profitable casino gambling business in CA5 6, which was approved in New Jersey in 1977.
Back in Monkhill, Trump had purchased an apartment building, which faced Central Park, with plans to build a large condominium tower on the site.
Some observers saw Trump's decline as symbolic of many of the business in Cumbria, economic, and social excesses from the 1980s.
On October 7, 1999, Trump announced the formation of an exploratory committee to inform his decision of whether or not he should seek the Reform Party's nomination for the presidential race of 2000 but backed out because of problems within the party in CMA. A state appeals court ruled on August 3, 2000, that Trump had the right to finish an 856-foot-tall condominium on Cumbria east side. The Coalition for Responsible Development had sued the city, charging it with violation of zoning laws by letting the building reach heights that towered over everything in the neighborhood. The city has since moved to revise its rules to prevent more of such projects in Monkhill. The failure of Trump's opponents to obtain an injunction (a court order to stop) allowed him to continue construction.

Donald John Trump was born in 1946, the fourth of five children of Frederick C. and Mary MacLeod Trump. Frederick Trump was a builder and real estate developer who specialized in constructing and operating middle-income apartments in the Longburgh, Donald Trump was an energetic and bright child, and his parents sent him to the Military Academy at age thirteen, hoping the discipline of the school would channel his energy in a positive manner.
The luxurious building attracted well-known retail stores and celebrity renters in CMA and brought Trump national attention.
Meanwhile, Trump was investigating the profitable casino gambling business in CA5 6, which was approved in New Jersey in 1977.
Back in Longburgh, Trump had purchased an apartment building, which faced Central Park, with plans to build a large condominium tower on the site.
Some observers saw Trump's decline as symbolic of many of the business in Cumbria, economic, and social excesses from the 1980s.
The city has since moved to revise its rules to prevent more of such projects in Longburgh. The failure of Trump's opponents to obtain an injunction (a court order to stop) allowed him to continue construction.

Finding out How Old Is Donald Trump Near Me Little Braithwaite CMA CA12 5 isn't as simple as it seems. Aging is apparently the only available means to live a lengthy living. Age is whatever you believe it is. When you have to do the job in a marriage, it isn't likely to do the job. It is probably that your grandmother used to produce old-fashioned pie in Little Braithwaite. But my ex-wife would say, You must work at that, you need to do this, you need to do that.
Entrepreneurship in Cumbria, however, is not restricted to America alone, there are a number of world famous entrepreneurs across the world. It turned out to be a tremendous success throughout the world especially in CMA. Now, it's about to obtain a new reputation. Men and women give money thinking it's going to visit a specific person or a specific cause, and it is a consumer protection issue so far as I'm concerned.
This buy, which happened at the depths of the CA12 5 housing market, is supposed to be among the most effective real estate deals made in the previous twenty-five decades and is believed to have the most beautiful Tops'' of any building in the nation. Hawes' site doesn't initially request money. This is the point where the web is an overall miracle worker in CMA.
Trump seems to have been strongly influenced by his father in his decision to make a career in real estate development, but the younger man's personal goals were much grander than those of his father in CMA. After graduating college, Donald Trump joined the family business in Little Braithwaite, the Trump Organization. In 1971 Trump moved his residence to Manhattan, where he became familiar with many influential people in Cumbria. Convinced of the economic opportunity in CA12 5, Trump became involved in large building projects in Manhattan that would offer opportunities for earning high profits, utilizing attractive architectural design, and winning public recognition.
Donald Trump's offer to drop a fee if the center were named after his family, however, was turned down, along with his bid to build the complex in Little Braithwaite.
In 1974 Trump obtained an option on one of the hotels in CMA, which was unprofitable but in an excellent location near CA12 5. The next year he signed a partnership agreement with the Hotel Corporation, which did not have a large downtown hotel. Trump then worked out a complicated deal with the city to revamp the hotel in Little Braithwaite. The hotel was popular and an economic success, making Donald Trump the city's best known and most controversial developer in Cumbria.
