To Die For by The Birthday Massacre
This Song Saturday is brought to you by the following:
Me: [randomly sees a song by The Birthday Massacre in my Recommendeds on YouTube] Holy shit, The Birthday Massacre?? I listened to them LOADS when I was younger -- they're still around? Huh! Might as well check it out, then...
Me: [after listening to the song "Under Your Spell" and enjoying it well enough] Nice -- I missed this band. What else have I got to listen to by them on here... Oh hey, "To Die For!" I remember that song title, it was on one of the albums I owned! Though I don't remember how it goes...well, what better time to find out?
Me: [clicks the video]
To Die For: Tighten your tie boy/you're something to die for~
Me: [nearly fucking bowled over by a sudden rush of nostalgia and associating this song with Victor]
Me: Oh. Right. Like that.
Me: ... [likes and makes a note for Song Saturday]
Yeah, got a personal blast from the past here for me -- I used to love this song when I was a little younger and listening to Walking With Strangers regularly. As stated, it sounds to me like someone singing to/about Victor, especially with those opening lyrics -- I am like 99% sure this was a Valice song to me, as so many things are, and that I associated it with the Forgotten Vows Verse because of stuff like "your memory's fading/I'll love you forever/I'll try to remember/I'll try to hold on." Though I think there's a case to be made for this as a Victor/Emily song too... Right now, though, it's just giving me the feels in general, so you guys get to share them. :)
#song saturday#the birthday massacre#to die for#victor van dort#valice#yeah I definitely want to say this was a Forgotten Vows song#though you could probably make this fit any Victor ship with a little tweaking#my brain kind of wants to make it Valicer but isn't sure how :p#but yeah I owned a few albums by this band#Violet and Walking With Strangers#and I've got 'Burn Away' from Imaginary Monsters#which I believe I first heard on a A:MR FMV#which makes sense it definitely suits#I also have the CD of a live show they did in Germany#used to listen to it at night to fall asleep#...which given some of the shit they sing about really shouldn't have worked but XD#ahhh memories#I'm glad to find some old classics#and some newer music I wasn't aware of#Mirrors is really good :D#Youtube#queued
