10. What is the most common criticism levied against them by detractors?

There's this whole thing about Joko's speech being accurate, but also, what is more interesting are things related to her faith and ethnicity; certain religious sections of DR are frightened and disgusted by her having killed Balthazar, so they refer to her as a heretic. And true enough, Nyra does harbor a pretty public hatred for Balthazar post PoF. She even has an aunt, Larra, who is a priestess of Balthazar and who has since renounced Nyra as her niece. Their feud is, once more, so very public, because Nyra doesn't really care to keep this a secret. She did what she did and it doesn't matter what detractors think of that; it had to be done, as Rytlock said in the epilogue to PoF.

Second common point is levied by Separatists. Nyra is an Ascalonian by blood, declares herself as such (and her identity list is Ascalonian, Krytan and then human!) and wants what's best for Ascalon, in her view, which is cooperation with the charr. She's strongly opposed to Separatists. Due to her having close ties with charr, esp seeing that one of her besties is Rytlock, they started calling her a lionheart, which is not a good thing to be called and is very much saying, 'you are not a true Ascalonian bc you allied yourself with the enemy' to which she obviously takes offense. Nyra's actually very involved in politics, but she doesn't have any wish to be a political figurehead. She's just expressing her views and it makes her butt heads with people, whether her views are correct or not.

14. Would they rather be remembered for who they were as a person or for their deeds?

At this point? Deeds. See, Nyra's always been the type to want to be remembered by deeds; while she is a memorable personality for sure, she knew she needed great things to go with it, so she vowed to herself to go down in history. And she did. Time and time again. By this point she's so convinced she's not a good person due to all the bad things she's done to get there, so no, she doesn't want to be remembered for who she was as a person, but rather by what she's done.

There's also this thing she's been doing for a while now and that's her separating herself as a person in certain regards to the legend around her. Like, her gremlin energy largely disappears in the eye of the public so people are surprised that she's a prankster when they actually meet her. But she wants to be remembered by her deeds, mostly, not her gremlin energy. That's for herself. That's for loved ones.
