sorry hi last reblog has me thinking about how i havent played in awhile. i haven't been a fan of the recent updates they're far too 'content production'-y for me. but i just want to express i think many of the best moments in gw2 story have been when the writing is utter camp slop that the writers were clearly extremely emotionally invested in, completely regardless of their production timeframes or budget. my opinion basically is guild wars 2 is better when it's worse
#my stuff#technically id say pof had really high production value but it was also such an anomaly right#hot off the heels of HoT with both nothing and everything to lose#i admire their tactic of being like what can we do to redeem our objectively sort of mid mmo after our first xpac just bombed?#we know. kill the player character. [american psycho william dafoe forehead slap gif]#no but really i do think its a problem its trying to be more 'professional' now#its choking itself trying to do the same things that major riot and blizz releases do#where theyre really high budget polished formulaic. like a marvel movie#except gw2 doesnt even have that budget now still so what theyre effectively accomplishing is choking the soul out of it#while also making it less unique compared to every other comparable product out there#i dont think people really like mmos because theyre 'good' they like them because theyre fun and generally let you do whatever you want#i think ones that do a better job financially seem to be ones that focus foremost on how fun combat is#and secondly how much they can indulge the player in various silly whimsies. which involve money#this is often why the stories are great. and camp. because they are often shafted and therefore bad#and therefore some random gay writer can shoehorn in whatever weird eccentric horseslop they want#random stealth trans writer whos cubicle has dune figurines in it: yeah this chapter will mostly focus on the main characters emotional --#conflicts and bodily autonomy juxtaposed with the lore of our magic universe's growing entropy#execs: ok. well can that be gamified? is it toyetic?#writer: yeah sure#execs: right sounds fine we'll just ship whatever it is then#but then they start firing everyone and bringing in third parties who write based off 'market research' and not vibes or art#and thats when it gets actual bad bad

yknow what though im still surprised about world of warcraft making one of their most well known and reocurring characters transfem (even if she wasnt made with that intention)
thats the whole statement im just still surprised about that
#my post#its one thing to have forgettable trans characters in your franchise that has thousands of named characters#but chromie? been there since the start (afaik) and is well. shes a big presence in the game in my experience#and shes a character that most players will see and interact with even if its only to do chromie time in the main cities#and sure most people who even notice her arent going to know that fact. but it being a fact about her at all is like#man gaming is wild nowadays. queer characters everywhere even in blizzard games. i love it#the queerphobes cant escape HAHA#i was about to say chromies story where this is canon predates my time playing but it doesnt actually WAIT#that book apparently came out DURING ONE OF MY SUB TIMES? i made this happen /j#yeah its just wild. like im glad its a thing. shes a great character i always liked seeing her in game before i even learned about this#world of warcraft

unpopular ieytd headcanons? /nm
seeing as I've dedicated myself to being the world's biggest fabricator enjoyer (joke). i think it will be obvious who i'll take the opportunity to talk about :] with some other headcanons thrown in also.
I think a lot of my Fabricator headcanons count as "unpopular" if only because not many people talk about her in general. The first thing that came to mind for me is that I personally headcanon her as trans for no reason other than I'm trans and my favorite characters get hit with my beam attacks. I also think she's not really mean once you get to know her - She's much more relaxed around friends, it's just that she has. One friend total, maybe two if we're being generous with the definition of friend. And I just generally see her as a different kind of "mean" than other people seem to, if that makes sense? She has fun with it, yeah, but she has reasons and such. even if those reasons can be petty. I don't know if she enjoys drama for drama's sake, she's got a reputation to uphold and all. She uses more subtle verbal attacks, sarcasm and such.
Another unpopular headcanon, but for Agent Phoenix this time: My Phoenix is a lesbian. Got them with my beam attack also. I also tend to see them as less... Chaotic? They're cautious, taking their time to figure out the situation. They do still put things in their mouth though. That's important to me.
#ieytd#surprising lack of trans hcs to me.. where is the gender in here (<- trans)#i mean. beyond phoenix + zor being nonbinary fairly often that is. which i like.. yaay nonbinary people ^ ^#on the topic of phoenix. sorry phoenix/juniper fans i know you're the main fandom ship but i have other favorites..#i only see it with other agent phoenixes really. mine does NOT like men like that#is it fine if i say juniper feels a bit overrated to me.. nothing against him really i just see him Everywhere and he's not. like.#one of my favorite characters or anything. of the three main antagonists we've had other than zor. he's like. my least favorite#and that isn't me saying i hate him!!!! i think he can be interesting!! i just find solaris and prism More interesting y'know#i'm glad i'm not the only one making ieytd f/f content anymore also.. i feel like for a while it was Only phoenix/juniper#which i guess means fabricator/solaris is another unpopular headcanon? more popular than it used to be though#it's still me and like two other people making content for that one... but at least the two other people are there#hi savvy hi gene waving at you

so there’s this story that i had started to kinda put together back in my Episode days.. it wasn’t super thought out and was just kinda me trying to play around with getting used to the platform. but then i kinda started doing research for the story (zombie apocalypse centric) to make things more realistic & and then i kept imagining scenarios, and now i have notes upon notes & so many various small scenes for this story that i never actually planned to write 😭 and last night i wrote almost 5k words for a scenario i thought of… which is… a lot considering all this past year i’ve written 0 words towards a story 💀 so uh idk what that was about. but now im ready to kinda write some more so idfk
#and it’s like… im ngl since i’ve started the story idea i’ve noticed my writing has gotten better#still not great but better#and i’ve found that i’ve been letting the scenes play out naturally#so when my characters are talking. i kinda just let them speak. idk how to describe it#like Eric was supposed to be… like an aizawa from mha… but now he’s kinda like a Julian from the arcana#idk its just how it’s naturally come out#bcuz i wanted the scene where the main group finds Eric & questions whether or not#they can trust him so Keith asks Eric if he’s been bitten and if he’s just lying and Eric’s response is#‘what you want me to strip so you can inspect me?’#and since then i’ve found that that is now Eric’s character#also it’s gay#so so gay#and Keith is trans#and another one might be genderqueer too#idk yet#anyways it’s just thoughts#so yeah#mine#delete later?

I am a little worried, bc in the ghoul book one of the main characters is this trans guy who's short and squat and balding, and there's some emphasis on those physical descriptions. but in my thinking, it's the Kim Kitsuragi thing where he would not be nearly so cool if he didn't have a weak chin and receding hairline. like having this squat little guy glare at you and then win a magical duel is like WOW! that fucks!
but I just hope that translates. I hope people pick up on my vision.
#also we do need more trans dude characters who aren't anime twinks#(....said with envy bc I want to be a trans guy anime twink)

one of my favorite things about bob’s burgers is how realistically diverse it is. not only are there lots of characters in the background of different races, but even characters of the same race have different undertones to their skin. plus a lot of the main characters have it casually brought up that they’re some sort of minority. bob says he’s “*mostly* straight.” tammy is jewish. mort is presumably jewish. marshmallow is trans. nat is a lesbian. jimmy jr has a speech impediment. one of the members of the beta frat has a droopy eyelid. gayle is heavily implied to have severe ocd, and linda is incredibly loving and patient with her about it. the belcher family often says things that imply they’re queer. gene interchangeably refers to himself as both a boy and a girl. louise doesn’t connect with girlhood. even personal headcanons in the community such as tina being a trans girl are supported by the official accounts retweeting fanart of the belchers with pride flags.
i just love how real it is about its diversity. because you will just meet a bunch of different people with these traits in your life! and they’re only occasionally explicitly called attention to, because in real life you don’t usually call attention to these things! idk it just makes me so happy. i’m happy there’s not an episode where the belchers have to learn what a gay person is, and instead they just have gay people who exist in their lives, yknow what i mean?

SEEKING TRANSMASC VOICE ACTOR
Hi, I'm an author and I wrote a horror novella about a trans guy main character who gets caught in a cycle of nightmares. I need a narrator for an audiobook version of it.
PLEASE REBLOG, even if you're not a VA - I want to give a creative job to a trans person and in order to do that I need a boost.
Here are the details:
Story synopsis:
Thaddeus Morozov's sister tries to sacrifice him to a dark god, but she doesn't quite finish the job. As he fights for his life in a medically induced coma, the dark god puts him through a gauntlet of nightmares, each more horrific than the last. If he loses, the sacrifice will be complete.
Violent, edgy, and unabashedly queer, Fever Dreams is a biting commentary on the Trans Moral Panic, explored through the eyes of a transgender boy who will fight tooth and nail to survive - with plenty of blood and gore spilled along the way.
Characters you will have to voice:
- Thaddeus (main character), a 19-year-old trans man from Chicago. His voice would be the primary one you use for narration.
- Masha, his older sister.
- The Antler Man, or Chernobog, Russian god of darkness, who has a deep and very creepy voice.
- the Sparrow, or Belobog, Russian god of light, who will primarily be whispering. Should be somewhat raspy and not high pitched.
- a few characters with British accents, specifically John Oliver and Tom Scott. These nightmares get weird. I'm sorry about that.
- Thaddeus's grandma, a very old Russian woman who immigrated to the US during WWII. The accent doesn't have to be too heavy
- Thaddeus's parents. His dad is abusive and transphobic, his mom is addicted to morphine to cope with her husband.
Things you will need:
- an ACX account, since my publisher goes through ACX for narrators.
- good studio equipment. Readers always notice background noise.
- audio distortion may be required for segments where the dialog takes place over the phone or in chat logs. Might also be worthwhile to add some distortion on the Antler Man's voice, to make it sound really deep and creepy. If you are unable to do this, I can find an audio producer to help (or if you know one, you can refer them to me)
Content warnings:
I have to include these since it is pretty extreme horror.
Transphobia, Gore, child abuse, animal cruelty, animal death, substance abuse, vomit, mental illness, mental hospital
Thank you for taking the time to read this!
Again, you will have to audition through ACX - sorry about that, I don't make the rules. If you're interested, you can search for Fever Dreams, published by Baynam Books Press. And if you'd like a sample of the writing, I can provide one as well.

To the people saying "I do it because they're/it's hot, but I'm also trans!", "I do it because they just have traits (they're 'feminine') that make me think that, but I'm also trans!", etc., you do realize you can still fetishize and push prejudice/negative stereotypes within the community? Do you know how many people have headcanoned men as trans because they're just a wee bit feminine and they too were trans men? I'm going to be honest, in my experience, it's been a vast majority. And that bothers me. It's become so normalized, people don't even care, even in their own community. Men can be feminine, trans or not. It's gross to pin the label of trans on a man solely because they don't fit the convention, as all you're doing is fueling the fire of this problem. I know we want more representation in media, but instead of half assing it, or really just creating sick caricatures of us based on what the cis-gender people have decided are the norm, maybe we should actually put effort into our headcanons, or even... Make our own representation instead of seeing someone like, I don't know, Armin from Attack on Titan, and because he has longer hair, a softer voice, a smaller frame, and isn't the stereotypical male, claiming "Oh, he's trans!". There are times it works; me personally, I headcanon Dipper Pines as transgender, not because he's feminine, but because I can understand his struggles with masculinity and what makes him who he is; of not fitting the agenda while still being a man; of being dysphoric and insecure, but also learning to accept who you are. Not to mention just reality, identical twins have to be born the same gender, and while it's possible they might not be identical, the creator of the series himself has actively supported the headcanon. That's an exception. That's different. To explore the character via a headcanon, that is one thing. To just stick it on them is another. If you want representation, either make your own characters for it, find/support media that have it, or actually attempt to reflect the transmasc experiences in a headcanon as accurately as possible (tied to making your own, accurate representation). Stop just placing labels on a male with long hair and a more androgenous voice and going: "Aw, he's trans! 🥺" Without anything more.
hey. hey you.
look at that character you’re headcanoning as a trans man.
are you headcanoning him that way because you think it’s interesting, or because he’s a twink and acts kind of feminine?
if you write about him, do you treat him the same way you do your other characters, or is he distinctly separated?
can he handle himself, or is he always the damsel in distress? do you have someone bigger and stronger than him always save him?
do you make him act more childish or confused? is he super innocent and needs someone wiser to guide him?
are you willing to explore what his transness means, or do you just think it makes him hotter?
did you make him trans because you wanted to write him as the bottom? is he trans because you wanted him pregnant without "technically" writing mpreg?
are you willing to headcanon big strong men as trans men? old men? not stereotypically attractive men? men of color? fat men? disabled men?
is his transness a part of him or do you just treat it is a prop?
on the other hand, is he more than just his transness, or is that all there is to him?
do you include other queer and trans people in your work? how do you treat them in your writing?
how do you treat actual trans men? trans men who dont pass? trans men who do? who dont feel comfortable being perceived as feminine? who present in a more feminine way? who identify as more than just a man? who arent just white twinkish silly feminine men? who are kids, meaning you can’t just sexualize them? who are more than just props to be used within a story to push the plot along?
are you willing to listen to trans men who speak out on their issues, or does that seperate them too far from the fantasy you’ve concocted about them?
how do you treat trans men?
#trans#transgender#transmasc#transmasculine#transman#transmen#trans men#actually trans#Transgender headcanons#HCs#headcanons#Also no shade to the person I RB'd this from /gen#I just needed to put my input because I see this mentality EVERYWHERE#I genuinely don't think that's what their tags were insinuating /gen#(Wanted to rant about how much I fucking love the Re-Animator fandom for the trans Herbert HC because WOW /pos)#(They get so in depth with it and it makes me so happy as a trans dude who super relates to and loves Herbert West)#(It's such a flip from the usual. Sure; Herb might not be the MOST masculine guy. But neither is Dan. The HC isn't there because of him#“being feminine”; since he's not that either. There's depth to him and I fucking adore when fandoms give that dedication.)#(Where as one I dislike is Victor Frankenstein; even though I adore and relate to him just as much as West. For his character; it doesn't#work. He may not be super feminine though within the story it just wouldn't make sense to incorporate. Though this is me personally. There#are times it genuinely works; though the majority just slap the label on him without reason beyond the fact they just like him and want rep.#The main issue with it being the period. They attempt to write Victor the way he is with his parents referring to him as he is; but in that#era that would be totally UNACCEPTABLE. If you want trans Victor you need to include transphobia; internalized and external. There has to#be dysphoria; religious guilt; life on the line; etc.#YOU NEED TO ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND THAT THIS HC IN UNIVERSE WOULD BE DANGEROUS AND HOLD A LOT OF DEPTH. That's why I hate it; it's execution.)#(For similar reasons; while I personally HC Victor as Gay I hate when people forget the history and context. I will always ALWAYS include#the fact he's closeted and internally homophobic/in denial when writing genuine pieces of work about this HC. We need to continue doing that#Like. That is another thing. Not just transmasc#but ANY LGBTQIA+ HC. UNDERSTAND THE CHARACTERS; CONTEXT; AND PURPOSE FOR THE HC.)#I'm at max tags so I'm done yapping. Thanks for listening.

pinned post/FAQ
TRANS RIGHTS!! TERFS GET THE FUCK OFF MY BLOG!!!!!!!
we have a source of income again, but if you like my work, donations are always appreciated!
who are you?
i'm just a guy who likes spore [2008]
why do this?
i just really like spore and making creatures in spore. it helps me practice my creature creation abilities.
can you make my oc in spore?
as of right now i do not take requests. i generally find characters and creatures i want to make by them appearing on my dashboard. refer to the Request Beast.
what is in your icon?
captain thunderhide, my main spore space stage captain.
what is peeling?
peeling is when i remove all detail parts from a creature and show the bare sculpt underneath - anything that is not eyes, mouth, hands, feet, or limbs will be removed. it is a tradition around these parts
what are "original spores"?
original spores are spore creations that aren't based on existing media - ocs, copyrighted characters, or otherwise. usually, they're just making things to make them in spore, or are based on simple prompts such as "a plate of spaghetti" or "a penis".
do you use mods?
i exclusively play this game with mods.
can i download the creatures you make?
only if the original creator of the design is okay with it and requests a png. please note that in order to successfully download the creatures, you will need to download every mod used to create them.
i will not always be able to say what mods i use to make something, so it's a gamble if you don't have all of the ones i use.
how do i mod spore/do advanced creature creation like you?
darkedgetv's FAQ is a very good resource to begin. i started there, and it's where i recommend you to start if you're interested in spore modding. it also contains many other mods i have not listed under the cut.
as much as i disagree with the process of using a discord server to contain vital information and resources, the davoonline spore modding community discord is also a good source of resources and mods that even i do not use.
have you heard of [in-development indie sporelike]?
yes. i have heard of all of them.
i hold no interest in any of the currently in development indie "sporelikes". i believe they are trying to reinvent the wheel and overall they do not interest me.
are there any other blogs like yours?
there's a few and ever growing! i refer to this as the ecosystem or the making-you ecosystem.
i have a masterpost of all known individuals in this ecosystem here.
what editor mods do you use?
a lot, so they'll be under the cut.
not mods, but highly recommended for enhanced playing experience
4GB patch - Tutorial - patches spore [and other 32bit programs] to be able to use 4gb of RAM. recommended if playing a highly modded copy, and makes the game more stable.
Reshade & ReSpore - post-processing injector & shader that alters the appearance of spore, giving it more detailed shading and vibrant colors. i use this for gameplay and screenshots. runs on GPU power, so excellent if you have a strong graphics card
HD graphics fix - this doesn't actually seem to work for my copy, but it alters the textures of base spore to be more high-quality.
mods that are absolute must-haves
these mods are ones that i use in almost every creation, and add a lot of QoL to the editors. if i forget a mod in a creature png i post, it will be one of these.
Dark injection - THE spore mod. it's likely a lot of other mods you'll download will mesh well with dark injection. you can turn off whatever you don't want to use through the installer.
Universal Property Enhancer - a library mod that many other mods require
The Smoother - a useful tool for building muscles and smoothing out your creatures' bodies
Enhanced Color Picker - a requirement for super detailed creations, enables hexcode color picking and color wheel selection beyond normal limits of spore
[UPE] Infinite Part Scaling - allows scaling of parts near-infinitely, beyond the limits of the original game
Project Skyncraft - adds new creature skinpaints
Unshackled - adds nodes and limbs for creating custom wings, heads, hands, etc. a little bit unstable, i mostly use this for wings.
Spore Stacker - allows stacking of any part
Subtle Rotations - reduces part rotation snapping
Advanced CE - adds building editor manipulators to the creature editor
Every Part Costs Nothing - self explanatory
Rotate Anything - lets you rotate anything, including feet and hands
Advanced Creature Paint - allows for individual coloring of parts on a creature, like in the building and vehicle editors
Ambient Occlusion Disabler - removes baked-on shadows for creatures
Delta Paints - adds new skinpaints
Valla's Skinpaint Switcheroo - adds duplicates of all vanilla, C&C, and GA creature coat and detail skinpaints into their opposite category
Valla's Vanilla Style Parts - adds several parts which mimic the vanilla style
Delimbiter - increases the amount you can scale limb parts, and allows for more crazy movements of certain limb parts
test drive related mods
these mods are not required to download the creatures i post, but are recommended for the test drive.
No More Creature Editor Animations - turns off the animations that play when you add eyes, mouth, feet/hands, etc
Sevan's TF2 editor animations - adds multiple animations from tf2 into the creature test drive.
Mx3's Dance Animations - adds a multitude of dance animations into the creature test drive.
Tenebris's Creature Test Drive Animations - adds many animations from within the game to the creature test drive.
EditorBG - adds extra editor backgrounds
Ramone Kemono's MMD Drag Ball - high-effort dance mod complete with special effects and a reverse engineered camera system
part mods
these mods add parts to the editors.
DroneParts 2017 - adds many mechanical and polygonal parts useful for machine creatures, i like to use it for building clothes and markings.
New Drone Parts - a sequel to droneparts 2017, compatible with the old version. install both at the same time if you want to be able to use creatures from the old droneparts mod.
Himeric Engine - adds horror-themed parts to the creature editor.
Spore Resurrection Next Steps - adds a few parts to the creature editor and several new textures to the building and vehicle editors.
Dinosaur Parts - adds parts based on dinosaurs and other animals. mostly heads.
Strange And Beautiful - a now-discontinued, reuploaded mod that adds unusual and unique parts to the creature editor
Bionicle parts - adds a few bionicle pieces to the creature editor
Little Box Of Horrors - adds many parts with an overall horror theme. some are animated.
Pandora's Toolbox [1.0] - adds a multitude of basic shapes and polygons to build with
Replicant - adds non-textured animating parts and non-animating parts in a separate tab. good for if you want to use hands, limbs, etc without them animating or adding stats
Armoured And Dangerous - adds a few high detail mechanical looking parts.
Wordsmith 2.1 - adds letters to the creature, building, and vehicle editors
Kaiju parts - adds several parts based on popular kaiju
Organic Help - adds many membrane pieces to the creature editor, for creating wing webbing among other things
Project: Mad Mannequins - adds many human body based parts. and a horse for some reason
A Mouth For All Seasons - adds alternate versions of all vanilla mouths [and all unused cell mouths] with alternate diets
Valla's Captain Badges - adds all space badge models into the captain outfitter and creature editor
Rock On! - adds rock props from spore into the building and creature editors
Anime Parts - adds a couple anime human heads and anime hairs

This is an event to celebrate trans characters and creators in the Dragon Age fandom!
It’s bleak right now for many of us, both in terms of politics and weather, so this is an attempt to spark some trans joy and uplift each other with a low-key but hopefully fun little fest that culminates on Trans Day of Visibility.
Schedule: Prompt submission: Feb 6-15 Prompt claiming: Feb 16-22 Posting: March 23-March 30 Works revealed: March 31 (aka Trans Day of Visibility!)
More info under ‘keep reading.’
@dragonagefanevents
How does this event work?
People submit prompts related to a certain theme and/or claim which prompt they’d like to write about or draw. At the end, all the writing and art is revealed on AO3.
What’s the theme?
Trans characters in Dragon Age — anything about them.
What is the schedule?
Prompt submission: Feb 6-15 Sign-up/prompt claiming: Feb 16-22 Posting: March 23-March 30 Works revealed: March 31
Do nonbinary/genderqueer characters count as trans?
Of course! That’s who the white stripe on the trans flag is for, y’know. This event is for all non-cis characters and creators.
I’m cis. Can I participate?
Sure, as long as you’re respectful and have done your research.
How do I participate?
- Make sure you have an AO3 account, because that is where works will be posted.
- Submit prompts via this form.
- There will be another form posted on Feb 16 to claim a prompt. Prompts are claimed on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will receive an email confirming which prompt you have claimed.
- You create something based on your prompt.
- Post your work to AO3, and make sure that you post it to the Trans Thedas Fest collection by entering “trans_thedas_fest” (without quotation marks) in the Post to Collections/Challenges box.
- Works will be revealed on March 31.
What do I need to write for a prompt?
You can be as vague as “something about [character name],” or as elaborate as you like. But try to be detailed enough to give writers/artists something to work with.
What characters can I write/draw/write prompts about?
Any of them, as long as the focus of the work is on a trans character—one of the canonically trans characters (such as Krem, Taash, Maevaris, etc), a trans OC, or a canon character that you headcanon as trans.
What are the requirements for what I create?
Fic: at least 500 words (no maximum word count)
Art: clean line art
Use of generative AI is not allowed.
Fanfic should be standalone (not part of a series).
Make sure it’s rated and tagged appropriately.
Please wait to post your pieces on social media until after they have been revealed on AO3.
Who are you?
I’m JJ (they/them). My main blog is @lordlaidir and my AO3 is undeadpirate.
I have other questions! How do I get in touch?
You can send a message on tumblr, send an ask, or send an email to [email protected].

Been reflecting on my older work since coming out as trans.
I remember a long time ago, this must have been almost 10 years ago, I had this idea for writing a story that essentially followed a super-randomized Nuzlocke of Pokemon Platinum. The details of the plot I had planned don't matter too much, but the characters I had written for it were.
I had always enjoyed naming conventions when it came to characters, and I wanted to name the main characters after recurring items in the Pokemon series. This led to characters such as Berry, X, Candy, and Stone, but the two characters I'm focusing on here are Fossil and Disc, two names that people following my work closely enough may recognize that have had incredibly different and interesting futures.
Fossil was the protagonist, while Disc was the name of the rival. Looking back, it's fascinating how different I had made them. Fossil's entire character was kinda summed up by "generic white guy". That was really it. He was obviously kinda confused about his whole situation, and maybe he would have gotten more character traits if I ever wrote more than an opening chapter, but that's about all the character development I thought of for him. Granted, he very much was meant to be the self-insert.
Then there's Disc. She was far from generic. I loved her so much that I ended up revitalizing her for another story idea a couple years ago that also ended up not going anywhere (at least not yet) and then pulling her into NCCT. When I did I even convinced my boyfriend to draw her.
Yes, Team Magma Grunt. Her personality was a lot more memorable. She was listening to classic rock songs. I remember having her singing along to “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” idly at one point in the little bit I wrote about her. And I also kinda imagined her being a bit of a flirt.
For Disc, like I said, I brought her back for a story I was working in called “Cross-Stitch”. It never got past the intro because the gimmick is a logistical nightmare (a story where the characters are all interacting, but the order in which you read the chapters are different depending on whose point of view you’re following), but I had a lot of fun writing her, especially since I wanted her goal to be to use the aforementioned gimmick to create a time paradox and fuck up the entire space-time continuum.
I even put her in NCCT, assuming that the story before would have ended with her getting arrested by a secret government agency and put on parole for trying to destroy the fabric of spacetime, and RPing as her was always a blast.
Meanwhile, Fossil went in a very different direction.
Fossil went on to star in an incredibly interesting stream series I did, in which I pretty much tried to make my original story, but in an actual Nuzlocke of Pokemon. I edited the dialogue of the rival to directly speak to me, the player, which I responded to on stream. He would also fuck around with my files and record me talking to my therapist. I also made a lot of cool premade video stuff for it. It was called Iggylocke, and it’s worth checking out, deadname and all.
But I never got to reveal the twist, although I’ve talked about it since then. The twist was that they found my notes in planning the series and cross-referenced it with listening in on my therapy sessions and found out I had subconsciously made Fossil everything that I hated about myself. And they were upset about that.
And looking back on that is very interesting now.

Biggest psych nerd pet peeve is when people use mental discorders inaccurately. For example people saying a character has DID without looking into it (ie. the only trauma they’d ever experienced was an adult, which is not grounds for being diagnosed with DID) instead of any of the other dissociative disorders that very well could fit this character. I mean what
#THIS!!! IT BOTHERS ME... SO MUCH...#like yeah no hc characters however you want. but if its smthn like a mental disorder then pleasee make it accurate...#i wont lie this. reminded me of that “cross isnt trans” post that said one of his most likely diagnoses is did...#like. i don't remember what the maximum age for developing did is so like could you hc him as having did? possibly. considering his trauma#started when he was a child and was continuous (which i believe is one of the criteria for the development of did)#but like. aside from that#there is little in canon to suggest that diagnosis (unlike killer for example for whom the diagnosis would still be wrong but more#understandable why people think he has it) and thats not to aay you cant have headcanons that arent outright supported by canon material#but rather that that person was arguing about canonicity and plausibility/support in canon and in terms of that. they were wrong#anyway um main point is do your research everyone. portraying mental disorders and disabilities accurately is very important imo#accurately and in good faith#my adderall is kicking in so i wanna keep talking but if i do ill go massively off topic talking abt that one game#where the entire premise was like “bipolar bad” or smthn and it just came iff really insensitive#anyway yeah im gonna stop yapping ✌️#rebog

hey you 🫵 do you want to grow appreciation for japanese media that you wouldn't know otherwise and grow a more diverse taste to all the weird art that exists in the world?
i have a few recommendations for you!
i've been dying to recommend some youtube channels that i really love but never have the chance to bring up, but i think they have interesting things to say about japanese media!
Hazel makes video essays about anime and other media, i'm currently very entertained by her videos about obscure OVAs and old playstation 2 games. i really enjoy how she talks about things and hearing her perspective on various subjects
youtube
Amelie Doree (though i'm not sure if she goes by that or Noelle which is what she uses on her patreon) makes videos essays on (mainly eroge) japanese visual novels, from very famous and genre-defining ones, to extremely niche and often completely untranslated and undiscussed in the west ones! her videos are incredibly interesting and have given me a whole new appreciation for the visual novel genre of which i wasn't familiar with before
a good video of hers to start is "Why a Forgotten Visual Novel is the Best Trans Story I've Read' it talks about sexual topics but i think its clean enough to leave its good first impression regardless of how you feel about the medium
youtube
RickiHirsch (i believe she goes by Ricki) makes videos about a variety of subjects but often including also japanese games, anime and manga. one of my favorite and first video of hers i saw was "Queer Horror: Understanding Gender as Body Horror"
youtube
and lastly, i want to prove my point by recommending a modern anime i myself have watched completely on my own that i really enjoyed and think others would like!
have a totally legal link to My Senpai is An Otokonoko
this anime is from 2024 and i stumbled on it completely by accident. i was scared off a bit by the title (otokonoko being the common japanese term to describe a crossdressing man) but i was kinda pleasantly surprised by the softness and sincerity in which this show aproaches its topics.
its a romance/slice of life/drama show and its melodramatic and sugary sweet but a genuinely wholesome experience. the main character is extremely transfem coded (if you can even call it that? its in the text) and the show doesn't mock or demonize her for it and fully focuses on her perspective and feelings the whole time (and doesnt in any way deny a trans reading), and also its the first romance story probably ever where i've seen a character realize they're actually aromantic as a conclusion to their arc. its cute its sweet and if you watch the first episode and think thats for you then all 12 episodes will go by flying and you will cry. because i did

do it for her ^^^
#🧃.txt#i loveee love recommending media that i dont think anyone will see or care about#my interest in japanese media is probably very positively impacted by the fact the three only youtube channels i care to watch about it#are run by trans women LOL#getting your osmosis of anime from people who arent exclusively weird cis dudes#and being able to get trans readings which often lack SO much in those communities#feels quite special. they all have very interesting and fun perspectives to share#and again brought me appreaciation for a lot of media i wouldnt even heard about otherwise#which ignited my passion for niche and obscure media#and for going in internet rabbit holes about old art LOL#also i really really wanted to recommend my senpai is an otokonoko bc its so fucking cute and i love it so bad#i need someone else to watch it other than me
