thinking abt au crossovers and listen. Listen. theres something about seeing someone who is you but not really. you but just slightly to the left. in a funhouse mirror. if just one thing went differently. this is who you could have been. this is who you never could be. this person understands you better than anyone ever could. this person will never be able to understand you because of how differently things went. and thats not even touching on au crossovers that come from different points in canon. look. this is you a year ago. this is you a year in the future. do you recognize yourself? have you changed too much? can you be the person you needed at that time? do you tell them whats in store for them? can you warn them? would that make things worse? do you say nothing and just hope things will go differently? are things too different already? is that a good thing? is that a bad thing? what can you do to save this version of you? is it already too late? are they a lost cause? are you?

how would trauma bonding with diffs mikey timelines go? Like how do they abuse their darling and what's their reaction on her still being pathetically inlove and devoted to them? (Mikey is the abuser)
TW- Trauma-bonding, physical abuse, kinda yandere-ish, manipulative behaviour, guilt-tripping, gaslighting, isolation, kidnapping, possessive behaviour, controlling behaviour Toman\OG Timeline- Complete Control. He made it clear from day one that you're his. Completely. He makes all your decisions for you, what you do that day, how you dress, where you go, who you talk too, all of that is authorized by him and only him. He has complete control over your entire life, there's no arguing with him on anything. There's no going out with friends or seeing your family, those people shouldn't matter to you anymore. If he doesn't approve of said person, he'll either kill them or you're not allowed too see them, ever again. You not minding his behaviour, or even liking his behaviour, really doesn't matter to him because he was gonna be this way whether you liked it or not. It just makes it that much easier too control you in all honesty, although, you still being so hopelessly in love with him is beneficial to you. With you behaving and listening, doing as he says, you do get a bit more freedom then you would if you were being a little brat and going against his many rules he has set for you, with the expectations that you follow them the way he intended. As I've stated he chooses what you wear and where you wear it too. Revealing clothing are for his eyes only, he even goes as far as too dress you when he has time. He also chooses what you eat and when you eat, because, as he claims, he knows best.
Manila- Hot and Cold behaviour. Being in a relationship with this version of Mikey is the definition of "walking on eggshells," he's very unpredictable and trigger happy, quite literally. His behaviour towards you can change within the blink of an eye, you do anything wrong, no matter how small it is or how microscopic it may seem at the time, it could tick him off in a matter of seconds. It could simply be you not being very engaged in a conversation because you're tired, but he'll take at as you not caring and brushing him off, that's when things turn ugly and he starts screaming at you, then he'll proceed too ignore you for hours, claiming that if you're not gonna listen to him, he just won't talk to you. He never talks about how he feels, whether it be in that moment or just in general, he never opens up about anything, he keeps it all bottled up and at the slightest wrong-doing on your part, he'll just explode. It's to the point where you have too over-analyze everything you say, just too make sure he doesn't take it the wrong way. Because at time it's gotten so bad that he was standing over you, waving a gun in your face as you sat on the floor sobbing, pleading with him too calm down as he stared at you with those big black eyes of his. He knows you'd never leave him, because he wouldn't let you, it just encourages his hot and cold behaviour when you're cuddled up to him at the end of the night, telling him how much you love him.
Kanto- Physical Abuse. He hits you, a lot. He's quick too get physical at any slight inconvenience. It could've been that you were late meeting him or you were talking to someone that he didn't want you too, or because you were talking too them, as he deemed, a little too long. His go to is always physical punishment, man-handleing to the point of bruises and cuts, sometimes a broken bone or black eye. No version of Mikey takes too kindly to disrespect, but especially this one, this version of Mikey can not be reasoned with, by any means. He will take your verbal reasoning as arguing which will then lead you into a world of pain for hours on end. With the amount of physical abuse Kanto!Mikey puts you through on a daily basis, it's a surprise to everyone that you still continue too show him all this affection and endless devotion, some thought it was just a form of twisted submission, but the look in your eye is always genuinely loving when you look at Mikey, like he could do nothing wrong, or realistically, you don't really care about what he does wrong to you or anyone else for that matter because you'll always still be there too greet him with open arms and a smile full of love with that look of longing for him.
Bonten- Isolation. You're with him most of the time, but when you're not or are unable too be, you're left in his room, which is heavily guarded by security, which are also not allowed too talk to you. He keeps you away from everyone, a life full of isolation, no friends too talk too, no human contact, except Mikey. He won't even let you talk to his most trusted men, his executives. If he were to catch wind of you talking to anyone but him, he'd have them immediately executed, they'd be an example for everyone, that they shouldn't be near you, muchless talk to you. When he's feeling generous, he'll take you out, but only after he rents out time for the place, he wants no other customers there, not even workers, he'll have his men do it, his only most trusted men at that. You're not allowed too have a phone, electronics or any outside contact, say bye to your family and friends. Which you never really got too do anyway because with this Mikey, there was never a regular courting or meeting, he just kidnapped you, right out of your house. He does appreciate your continuous affection and devotion towards him though, but it just furthers his notion that he's the only one you need.
Street Racer- Guilt Tripping. Mikey is much better in this timeline, but he can still be very possessive. He hates when you leave the house, for any reason. You going out with your friends has been the reason for multiple arguments, between the two of you, to the point of hoarse voices in the morning. He doesn't apologize, just justifies, stating the reason he's so possessive and controlling is because he lost everyone in his life at one point. When you counter back, with the argument, that everyone in this timeline is alive, he starts too guilt trip you. Stating that something could still go wrong, he's already watched the people he loved die or he killed them himself, why can't you just listen to him? If he you really loved him, you'd listen, can't you see he's doing this for your own safety? You're being unreasonable, it's not like he's holding you hostage or over-bearing, he just wants an update every hour, is that really too much too ask? He knows you won't leave him though, by the way you continuously defend his behaviour to your parents and friends, telling them that he's just scared for you, that's he's protective and loves you, that's all. That makes him love you even more, because you finally understand that he's doing it for you, all for you.

SPOILER FOR THE FINAL TWO EPISODES
This is rant btw
I feel. Like. the Ending WAS what we wanted. It was kind offthe ending we thought we were gonna get, Fionna learns to appreciate her old world, Simon learns self worth and realises his flaws in his relationship with Betty and learns to live as himself and break the cycle of sacrifice
I just didn't expect it to be so. Straightforward and Spoonfed?? like simon just fully just TALKED about the narrative of his story. No visuals no nothing no nuances, like he just sits down and talks its like the writers went to tumblr and just read off one of the character analysis on here and just used it as dialougue??
Like what exactly made him realise his life was worth while, he was jsut about to commit mental suicide SECONDS ago and the only thing he realised was that he shouldve been more thoughtful in his relationship with betty, how does that correlate with him finding worth in his life?
Like i think it wouldnt have felt so out of no where if the last few episodes where they were going to diff worlds that showed that simon was valued as a catalyst of certain events in the AT timeline, were coupled with simon actually learning from those worlds, instead of him just being oblivious and still wanting to go after the crown
And the nova and casper thing was cute and i like the exploration of a new artstyle but did the story have to be presented that way?? Like it just told us what we already knew and in the end it wasn't even simon himself coming to the realization that his realtionship with betty is flawed, beth had to partially spell it out for him
Like did we need to go to shermy and beth's universe?? For Simon and betty's conclusion?? What was the point of going to that dimension it has nothing to do with their relationship
(I did like that alternate version of simon letting betty go onto the bus and even offering to join her on her trip that was cute.)
And all the universes they affected are just fine now?? Is farmworld finn dead or alive?? ARE FINN'S KIDS JUST ORPHANS NOW????
What was the point of it being set in Shermy and Beth's universe?? And simon just hacked out Fionna world like a hairball because he finally acknowleges that its not his responsibility?
I get the story their trying to tell I get what the narrative that their trying to say, and it IS the narrative that was what drew me into these stories in the first place. But the way it was presented was just ultimately so unsatisfying and weirdly complicated but also simple im just-
huh HUWH HUH WUHHH?????
NOT TO MENTION, WHAT IS UP WITH BETTY DOES THE BETTY IN THE BUSSTOP FLASHBACK TURNING INTO GOLB IN THE LAST SECOND HINT THAT SHE'S JUST COOL WITH BEING GOLB NOW LIKE THATS HER NEW 9 TO 5 I GUESS I MEAN. COOL GOOD FOR YOU GIRL?? LIke her fucking teleporting her fiance into her new apartment in the VOID and teaching him about the wonders of not dying is just a regular tuesday night i guess i MEAN SURE. THATS FUNNY.
did we overanalyze everything??? or did they just fumble the bag like i left those episode feeling like i shouldve been vindicated but i WASNT

theories why bucky is prob gonna die soon:
as an OG legacy character, bucky's time in the current timeline of the mcu is already limited, here's why
1. Sam and Sharon are going to be the new Steve&Bucky cpt america duo. Aside from his own storyline, Bucky's narrative place in Sam's arc is to remind him of Steve and the faith Steve put in him. Once Sam navigates his own journey to carrying shield, this narrative purpose will be fulfilled. Sam and Sharon represent modern day symbols for American justice and hope, a black man and a powerful woman with agency. They'd be a welcome duo to fill the shoes of Steve & Bucky's bygone wartime honors.
2. The show's narratives sets Bucky up as "irredeemable" or at least his emotional state relies heavily on his personal concept of redemption right from the first episode (with his murder of the innocent boy). You know what they say in storytelling, "you don't introduce a smoking gun in the first act without..." Superhero-wise this almost always indicates a heroic sacrifice, precendented in the MCU by Natasha "Red in My Ledger" Romanoff sacrificing herself for Clint and his family, Tony "You're not the guy to make the sacrifice play" Stark saving the world and dying).
3. Bucky's insistence Sam claim his rightful mantle of Cpt America on his own terms mirrors Dr Erskin's insistence Steve remain a good man on his own terms. We all know what happened to Erskin: but the memory of the doctor inspires Steve to carry out the original mission: not to be a great soldier, but a good man. Sam has yet to be faced with the pivotal moment where he must claim this in his own way and remember who came before him. Bucky is the only one connected to Steve's original legacy that could offer this perspective to Sam. Honoring Bucky's death could act as this reminder for Sam, alongside serving Bucky's own personal ends if written correctly.
4. Super Soldiers are framed as dangerous and the elimation of them appears to be the narrarive goal. The viewer can hypothesize Bucky will see himself as the progenitor of this deviant use of Super Soldier serum and believe the world will be safer when good men like Sam uphold what is right and the dark shadow of the shady origins of the serum and its cruel misuses (Isaiah) is obliterated. Steve was special and since Steve there has been no "positive" use of the serum. Sam is destined to be Cpt America without the serum by merit of his heart and Steve's faith in his goodness. IMO this is an even more pure origin of a Cpt America and harkens back to Skinny Steve.
5. Bucky has a personal beef with Zemo which sets up a big antagonistic fight and clear opportunity for heroic sacrifice.
6. "If you were sleeping and when you woke up a miracle happened..." An ominous line. Sleep=Death, waking up... who might he see that might make his world better? (shipper goggles for those that own a pair)
7. It seems like Marvel wants to kill off all its legacy characters before Multiverse comes out in anticipation of bringing them back in some alt universe/time travel manner. Tony, Natasha, Steve, and now Bucky. Whether that's bringing them back as the OG actors or different younger versions of them played by diff people.
8. "If he was wrong about you then he was wrong about me" ... This line indicates both Sam and Bucky will prove the opposite. Steve wasn't wrong about either of them. Sam by rising to become Cpt America and Bucky perhaps by a heroic sacrifice.
9. The fact that it was (queerbait most likely) hinted Bucky could be revealed as gay/bi post-Cpt America saga in TFATWS. Disney is Disney and we all know they aren't ready to have a longterm canon gay character that is fully developed with a romance and life. Bucky's trajectory as a tragic hero is already set and and his death thus assured at some point - therefore Disney could avoid accusations of "Bury Your Gays" this way.
For those w shipper goggles this last point is going to hurt you:
10. If Bucky died... Imagine him buried next to Steve at Arlington? Womb to tomb, sweetheart.
Obviously that is sentimental shipper goggles but more seriously, they have been framed narratively as linked, as the duo "inseparable on schoolyard and battlefield", to have them find peace together in the end would surely quell much of the criticism Marvel took at the end of Endgame following their separation. Also it would be a fitting "hero's" burial for the both of them after their lifetime of service and cement Bucky as a hero.
-Even if Bucky doesn't die in TFATWS his lease on MCU life is undoubtedly running out.

And allow me to ask about your selfships in flowers now, iris and zinnia
Both of these have a little bit diff answers to the rest.
Iris - Does your self insert for your f/os source material have a detailed and complex story and character arc, or are they just kind of vibing?
EVENTUALLY I will need to do a self ship post I can link too, because I have a different self insert for each of my top threes. The SIMPLE answer is they all have detailed backstories. The detailed answer I'll put under a cut at the bottom of this post.
Zinnia - how often do you think about your f/o? Do they live in your head rent free, or do you not think about them for months on end before suddenly hyperfixating on them nonstop for a week?
; w ; I feel like you've seen my blog, I never stop thinking about my boys. Sanji and Corazon occupy the most of my brain, but if I see Buggy I get emotional over him too.
OKAY SO HERE I GO about my self inserts. All three are me in personality, interests, and talents. All three have pink hair and green eyes, and glasses.
My s/i Ace x Sanji is an art historian from the South Blue.
They were traveling on a ship that was transporting priceless paintings from one island to another for an exhibition, when the ship was attacked by pirates after the artwork to sell for the Beri it would get them. They were one of only a couple of survivors of this attack, getting away on a scrap of wood that was floating that they managed to scramble on top of. They were rescued by the Straw Hats. This fits in canon timeline between Little Garden and Drum. They fall for Sanji very quickly, despite his bad habits, infatuated with his flirty nature and constant compliments. Despite Nami's warnings that he was like that with "all women," after they come out as nonbinary to Sanji during a heart to heart, he still treats them with the love and affection that made them fall for him. They bond while cooking together, taste testing each other's food and experimenting with new recipes at dinner for the crew. Make quick best friends with Usopp over mutual loves for drawing, plants, bugs, and being snipers. (They are trained in archery.) Jinbei reminds them of their late father, and they quickly get very attracted to the Fishman, looking up to him and asking him for guidance often. Other best friend is Robin, they bond over art history and how it related to archeology, she helps teach them to read poneglyphs so they can help her. [[Sometimes trio ship with Usopp bc I also love Usopp and Sanuso is my otp]]
My s/i Ace x Corazon is a Selkie from the North Blue. This OC is Canon Divergent
Info on Selkies (mostly based on Real World Mythos, but some tweaking done for OP Universe)
Legends Say that a man who finds a selkie for a wife are blessed with a beautiful obedient wife. At least that’s the human version of the tale. In the selkie world, it is a warning, a cautionary tale: never be caught by a human man, lest you have your coat stolen and never return to the sea. Selkies are generally only found in the farthest north points of the North Blue, where seals are abundant. True to legends, Selkies can shift between human and seal form with the use of their coats or seal skins. Selkies are thought to be rarer than mermaids, but due to the nature of their transformation, true numbers are unknown outside the community. When a selkie has her skin stolen she has a compulsion to marry the person who stole it, usually with discomfort to the selkie. If her coat is willingly given to a man, it must be willingly given back. Selkies sometimes bare children to the man they marry, but when they find the hiding place of their coat they will abandon these children to return to the sea. Some legends say that these children are sometimes visited or saved by large seals later in their lives. When selkies first transform, their coat is the clothes they are wearing, so they are naked until clothed in the human fashion.
My self insert specifically!
In seal form, they are a harp seal, dusty grey with dark spots. In human form they have long dusty pink hair and deep dark green eyes, large like a seals. Their coat takes the form of a fluffy winter coat, with the same colors as their seal skin. When they are wearing their coat, it works similar to a zoan fruit, they can transform by choice, and can do a hybrid form (similar to a mermaid) as well. Not trained in any particular fighting style, they're not much use in a battle, but they know basic first aid and are a good support to a team. They witnessed the murder of Corazon by Doffy (and prior, saw Law being placed in the treasure chest). //Canon Divergent// When Doffy leaves the island, leaving Corazon dying in the snow, They nurse him back to health slowly, giving him their coat to keep warm so that he doesn't freeze to death, and builds a small fire to keep him alive. When he comes to, they help him move inside the partially destroyed building. He gives her coat back willingly after explaining to him what it means to her, and that and his deep caring nature made her fall for him. When he's well enough to travel she travels with him so that he can reunite with Law, and they 'adopt' him.
My self ship for Ace x Buggy is a performance Clown part of the Buggy Pirates.
Ace has been a part of the crew for as long as any of the other original members and harbored feelings for their captain for a very long time before eventually breaking down and confessing after feeling like they were going to lose him to impel down. Buggy is initially very awkward and flustered and nervous about the confession but admits that he had feelings too. He's a bit of a tsundere so sometimes it takes a lot to get hid real feelings out in the open. Buggy has huge jealousy issues and will be very very possessive. Has a huge soft spot for Ace. They fight with a comically large hammer, and with a similar style to capoeira where they are dancing as they fight. They are obnoxious after they're officially together, but it's cute.

On Episode Ardyn: Everything’s in Shades of Grey
Couple of days late, because Real Life + Kingdom Hearts 3’s Carribean World is no joke. They brought out their guns for this world and I am not enjoying the underwater controls.
Okay, first things first - Somnus is clearly made out to be an asshole (many leagues away from our cute angel sleepyhead Noctis). Aera is a cute and spunky Oracle, while Ardyn is...Jesus Christ. (come on, that ponytail look with hair framing his face, wearing white - I almost did a sign of the cross 😂)
We can’t decide who’s good and bad in clear black and white terms for the whole of FFXV’s story because the DLC isn’t out yet - and that’s great. It’s fresh! Very Game of Thrones exploring morality style too. I love how FFXV’s been deconstructing all the typical tropes, and how I wish the team really gets the recognition it deserves. We get to explore the reality of being a hero, of burdened with the task of saving the world (Noct). We also get to see what it is that makes a villain, and what drives him in a more human sense (Ardyn). Two sides - not just black and white. It’s all grey.
Some points:
- While I still love Noct, I felt a bit conflicted since Somnus seemed to be a bad guy. Was I wrong in rooting for Noct and Regis to win against Ardyn? We’ll never know for sure, until the DLC comes out. What if Somnus had an ulterior motive for stealing the throne? etc etc. We can’t decide now.
- While Ardyn was made out to be the ‘villain’ in the main game, the prologue made it clear that he was cheated by his jerk of a brother. The anime makes it look like he was the better choice. But why did the crystal pass on him if he was -that-great of a choice to be King? And what did he see when he touched the crystal? Did he really see Noct?
- Lore is AMAZING. Imagine, multi-era games under the FFXV lore! Wouldn’t that be GREAT? You can have:
a pre-prologue game (the fall of the older city/civilization whose name I forgot, and whose temple Ardyn and Aera visited, BC-type of time and setting)
a prologue game (Greek-ish/Romanesque timeline, Ardyn vs Somnus + Aera - and is that a love triangle I smell??
FFXV main game, where everything is set to right (Modern + Fantastical, perfect evolution)
I know they tried it with the Fabula Nova Crystallis project but they could do it like this, too. They can even explore other Caelum heroes in other timelines, all battling diff versions of Ardyn. That would be amazing. Tabby why did you leave :(
I’m just really impressed with the lore and worldbuilding. It’s interesting, got good tension between the characters. The writing’s very emotional and human, too. The takes on the characters feel real - not concentrating too much on the story being a fantasy or an adventure. Brilliant job, FFXV writers (Saori Itamuro, Akiko Ishibashi,Takumi Nishida Kazushige Nojima). Actually, the whole FFXV team. Your world deserved better.
How the hell will I play Episode Ardyn now :( PS4 crashed last year and took my finished game save (plus Pitioss!!) with it. I was done with all the DLCs too.

Note
I'd normally be like "ALL THE QUESTIONS" but I'm really interested in 7 and 15 (but like if you wanted to do them all then hell yeah pls do)
You know what, Imma answer them all, cause I love you darling~<3
All answers under the cut, cause I’m sure I'll get long winded, as usual haha
1) is there a story you’re holding off on writing for some reason?I mean, there was a story that I had been sitting on for...10 years, I think? I just didn’t know how I wanted to tell the story. It started as a mockumentary type of thing, then when that didn’t fit the narrative style I wanted to tell, I moved to a classic modern fantasy style, but that didn’t pan out either.
Then, the game called “What Remains of Edith Finch” came out and it hit me so hard that I nearly passed out: that is the perfect narrative style for the book idea I’ve been sitting on!!
Incidentally, if you haven’t played/watched someone play it, “What remains of Edith Finch” is an excellent game and Jacksepticeye does a wonderful let’s play of it :D
2) what work of yours, if any, are you the most embarrassed about existing? Not as much anymore, but I used to hate bringing up “...And the Things That Followed.” Just for a short what-for: ATTTF is a Left4Dead/2 fanfiction, reader-insert that started as a sort of experiment: I perused lunaescence and picked a fandom that I was familiar with, but that didn’t have a lot of fanfiction to choose from. I mostly wanted to see if smaller fandoms stay active, even with very little content to choose from. And boy, did I get my answer.
The biggest reason that I ended up embarrassed over it was because I hadn’t intended it to be a romance fic (I mean...the two main characters are the reader and a Hunter, and what with necrophilia being really gross and all...), but I had readers out and out demand for it, to the point of going on strike from reading my fanfic. This was years ago, mind you, so I caved like a wet noodle and now hate that particular fanfic, to the point where I don’t even want to write the two sequels that I already had planned and half-written.
So, it started out as embarrassment, now its more I wish I could just delete it and forget it exists, but I’m one of those authors who has a really hard time deleting anything, even things I hate haha.
3) what order do you write in? front of book to back? chronological? favorite scenes first? something else? For the very first, ultimate scene I picture in each fic/story/novel, it could really end up anywhere in the final version.
After that first initial scene I see, I try to start as far back as I think I can get away with and move forward from there, so I guess the short answer is I write from beginning to end, no matter how it ends up being at the end, haha.
4) favorite character you’ve writtenI guess this is supposed to not include characters I don’t own, but that’s no fun so here you go:
OC: A supernatural Hunter named Silva and another hunter (who I have an rp blog for) named Theodora ‘Timmie’ Wilson
Non-OC: Writing Yusuke from YYH and Asgore from UT
5) character you were most surprised to end up writingI’m not quite sure what this question means, so I’ll just take a stab and guess it’s talking about how a character can end up differently on paper than how you first envisioned them in your head.
And that award goes to Silva. I expected her to be a hard, cold killer, but she had so much inner turmoil and hidden thoughts that she was definitely the hardest character to write until I actually started to understand her.
Which took an ungodly amount of time, tbh haha.
6) something you would go back and change in your writing that it’s too late/complicated to change nowProbably how often I use the double-hyphen. Its meant to be an alternative to using commas (which, I use to many as it is anyway haha), but now they litter my writing like popcorn on the floor at a midnight release, haha.
7) when asked, are you embarrassed or enthusiastic to tell people that you write?Honestly? A little of both.
I’m someone who sees fanfiction (and any fanwork at all, tbh) as legitimate art forms, but there are so many who not only don’t agree, but they belittle and question those who participate in fandoms.
There are days I have all my shit together and I’m ready to defend my fanfiction to the death, along with all my original content; I have my sources, I have examples, so on and so forth, but other days...
Well, let’s just say there are days I don’t even volunteer that information to people willingly haha.
8) favorite genre to writeOther than fanfiction, I love horror, fantasy, and scifi the best, though there are plenty of times it feels like I’m hardly writing for any of those genres at all, haha.
9) what, if anything, do you do for inspiration?Fanfiction, most of the time, but I also listen to songs on the radio, discuss ideas with friends/family (my step-dad was the only person when I was growing up who nurtured my love for telling stories and many of my ideas for novels came from talking with him over the years), or I also like to free-write.
At least, I think its called free-writing haha. I basically just put my pen on paper and just talk to the page with my pen. Sometimes, its just a rant, but more often then not, I’ll find a story or character hidden there.
10) write in silence or with background noise? with people or alone? All of the above, haha. In the perfect atmosphere, music is playing in the background, and I’m completely alone with no distractions, but since that’s not reality, I’ve sort of forced myself to adapt to what I can.
My computer (where I do 90% of my writing) is in the living room of my house, so my hubby is usually around, and if he’s playing overwatch, then its usually a few voices playing in the background.
If it gets to be too distracting, I just put headphones in, but I also write in notebooks and I take those everywhere, so for that, I just write when/what I can as I go along.
11) what aspect of your writing do you think has most improved since you started writing?Definitely dialogue, but also my prose. Honestly, all of it, haha. I look back at stuff I wrote years ago and I wonder how anybody thought I was any good, haha.
12) your weaknesses as an authorIf I had to pick one, its probably that I tend to either over-explain, or under-explain. There is no in-between, haha. My first drafts are often a mess of me focusing in on the details of one room and then not describing a setting for two chapters or more.
13) your strengths as an authorProbably my ability to logically follow order of events, even though I don’t plot, like, at all. This also makes it easy to see where I can divert from what’s expected and explore different avenues.
14) do you make playlists for your current wips? Not really? I tend to either put my whole library on shuffle, or I have a dedicated writing playlist that’s full of background music from video games and other things like that.
15) why did you start writing? It started as an outlet.
When I was about 10, my dad came home from work one day while my mom was still at work and while I watched, packed all his stuff into his car, called my mother and told her that if she didn’t get off work soon I’d be home alone, and then left.
I was in a complete and total depression from around then until well into my late teens (I have a little depression now, and a slew of other problems, but now for diff reasons). On top of my dad leaving, my mother, step-father and I all moved to a completely new state, where I started to bomb academically and had literally no friends until almost a year later.
It started out as angsty pre-teen poetry (a lot of which actually still pretty good, even as I go back to read it), then it spilled into fanfiction and fandoms, and around the age of 13--once my step-dad found my love of writing and wanted to pull me away from fanfiction--I finally started writing original ideas out.
16) are there any characters who haunt you?Silva, and a few others. Not so much because their stories are left untold, but moreso because of the way they helped shape me as a writer and the things I was interested in writing about.
The debate about whether or not a writer should write about a certain subject usually stems from readers, but I tend to lean toward the argument from a writer’s point of view: there are subjects that I broached as a teenager that I needed to explore in order to be who I am today, as a person and as a writer. Not to say I have something horrible in my writer’s past that I wouldn’t be able to share, but more that it might be questionable about the age that I delved into those topics. (and no, I don’t mean just smut, though that is included in what I’m talking about)
17) if you could give your fledgling author self any advice, what would it be?Stop wasting your time trying to please family members with what you write. Most of them are going to ignore the whole of your writing and focus in on the one swear word you threw in for characterization anyway.
Write what makes you happy; whether or not its publishable isn’t the point. You’re just starting out and you need to write; to get better, to learn the ropes, so just go WRITE!
18) were there any works you read that affected you so much that it influenced your writing style? what were they?Oh geez...at the beginning, everything I read affected my writing style. Fanfiction, published novels, everything.
Probably my biggest influencers would be “The Green Mile” by Stephen King, “The Hobbit” by JRR Tolkien, “This Present Darkness” By Frank Peretti.
And while these are hugely different authors with different writing styles, they more influenced me in my way of thinking. Of expanding my imagination of what could be if I just had the courage to write it.
19) when it comes to more complicated narratives, how do you keep track of outlines, characters, development, timeline, ect.?I either have a notebook filled with notes about characters/information, or I use a website called Hiveword(dot)com. It’s a novel tracking website that also advertises its program (which you have to pay for), but the website itself is free and you can store all the information about your book, characters, timeline, etc.
20) do you write in long sit-down sessions or in little spurts? Both, but I get more done with longer sessions. I know that seems like a no-brainer, but its more because of how I prep myself for my writing time:
I have to have a glass of water or cup of coffee, I have to have my music playing (which, with spotify could take a few minutes to load), I have to re-read the last page or so of what was previously written so I can get back into the feel of it, then I can actually sit down and write.
the little spurts end up being in my notebooks and they’re a mess, honestly, haha.
21) what do you think when you read over your older work?I used to cringe and close it immediately, but I’ve been trying to analyze and see the biggest differences in my writings from a then and now standpoint. Sometimes its really hard, if its particularly bad or whatev, but its been a real confidence booster when I can see where I was and where I am now.
22) are there any subjects that make you uncomfortable to write? Not uncomfortable, per se, but I tend to try and think of things from a reader’s perspective at the same time I write, so there are times when I get a little too involved in what’s happening on the page, haha.
HIAPOTS was a terror to write at some points because of this.
23) any obscure life experiences that you feel have helped your writing? All of it, if I’m being honest, but obscure things specifically? Hmm...
I mean, probably the fact that I give all my pets personalities and conversations between each other? I do it without thinking, but there are times where I’ll find myself using lines or situations from this weird little thing in my actual writings, haha.
24) have you ever become an expert on something you previously knew nothing about, in order to better a scene or a story?OMG SO MUCH. Like, idk about ‘expert’, but I have so much useless trivia in my head because of being an author. Talk with me for an hour and see if I don’t throw ‘fun facts’ into the mix of our conversations haha.
25) copy/paste a few sentences or a short paragraph that you’re particularly proud ofOh ugh...umm...let me to look...
From a currently unpublished reader/sans fic I’m writing:You understand, don’t you, Sans?
Sure, Sans understood. Sans always understood. He was the one who didn’t make waves, or overturn boats--you could always count on Sans to be the reassuring nod when you felt lost or the understanding ex who’s perfectly okay with just letting things die, even though the ending came as the greatest punchline ever written in history:
He hadn’t even seen it coming.
(I love delving into characters’ heads, and i love it more when i can do it well enough to feel comfortable with letting other people read it, haha)
From Part 6 of my Garrus/Reader serial fic:“They were my cases,” Garrus admitted, his eyes finally leaving Castis’s in favor of looking at the floor, “And I can’t watch it happen again.”
If Castis didn’t have such a steely reign on his composure now, Garrus might have been clued into his father’s line of thought. As it was, Castis was being forced to realize that he had been wrong in his assessments of his son.The older turian had always thought Garrus shirked the rules and regulations as a form of rebellion, since Castis stepped in and forced him to quit training for the spectres--as if to prove he didn’t care about what his father cared about. Now, Castis realized the reason Garrus pushed them aside so easily was because he did care, maybe too much.
(Honestly, the whole argument between Castis and Garrus in this part of the fic is something I’m proud of)

reasons why Steve Rogers is obviously coming back to the MCU at some point
okay im not really an MCU fan (i sideye disney bc they are homophobes and i always will) so maybe i can be more emotionally distant from their films than other people -
but here are some obvious reasons why Steve will come back to the MCU in time:
1. Legit everyone on earth loathed his Endgame ending and Disney is a sap for $$ and will do anything to get fans to forgive them esp when it concerns one of their big tentpole characters (See: Star Wars) that they bank off. There's a zillion way they could elaborate Steve's Endgame decisions to make them more than what they seemed (and narratively understandable in the grand scheme of multiverse/time travel). He was only gone for a total of 30 seconds and then immediately returned to his friends, but he could've seen a lot a la Dr Strange when he tripped the multiverse in Endgame. Basically, "Steve knows stuff that we don't".
2. They already proved they can de-age people. Remember when Scott Land turned into an old man and a baby because they let time travel through him and not him through time? Yeah they put that precedent there for a reason. They'll de-age Steve at least to a degree at some point (Silver Fox Steve is coming).
3. Space is the next big Marvel theme - think about it, if earth is so messed up from what Thanos did, what about every other planet in the universe? & there are the conspiracy theories in-universe in tfatws saying Steve could be where? The moon of all places which in the comics is a known Marvel hero base. With GotG, Dr Strange/Wanda, Thor, Cpt Marvel/Photon, and Fury/the Skrulls all signs seems to point to space... and Steve is hangin out on the moon. Mhm.
4. They purposefully made him old and didn't leave him in time or kill him because they wanted to leave it open-ended. Obviously. That was a clear narrative choice. Plus his actor is still a young guy, unlike say RDJ who wanted to just break it off.
5. It is time for Sam to be Cap! Steve wanted Sam to inherit the mantle of Cap because he knew this was a hero's journey he could not make himself - it is time for Sam to stand in the limelight. Steve is a good person and he knew that Sam's journey is not one he could have made as a white man (as a chronically ill, disabled, impoverished, Irish boy in the 30s he had many issues - but he will never understand what it is like to be black in America). Sam's destiny is to be a Cap that Steve couldn't be and Steve was so so proud of him when he handed him the shield. A real ally amplifies others and stands back so they can speak for themselves, and that's what Steve did. Marvel wanted to pass the mantle to Sam, so Steve has to take a backseat until Sam is established in tfatws. After that Steve can eventually reappear and move on to do other stuff.
6. The multiverse is coming which opens avenues for many versions of Steve and other characters even played by other actors to reappear in earlier or diff timelines. Also Loki's time travel stuff.
7. In the comics Nick Fury occupies a position where he monitors the safety of earth from the moon. This could easily be a taskforce that Steve is also taking part in and who knows may inherit from Fury himself. And guess who inherited this role in the comics at one point as well... none other than Bucky Barnes. Yup. Bucky Barnes in space with Rocket again. And Steve! Bucky is the kind of character they will stick anywhere and has an unpredictable future, so it would not be a surprise if they shifted him to the more comical realm of space at some point. When a character gets to be too heavy they usually shift them to comedic. This is Disney.
8. Who will be the next Nick Fury? We have many legacy changes both past and future occuring...Tony to Peter, Steve to Sam, Thor to Jane, Natasha to Yelena, Clint to Kate. Who is the next Nick Fury? The hidden eyes and ears of justice, the orchestrating conductor and supervising glue of the good guys... could we witness Fury to Rogers handover? Maybe!!
even if all these predictions are wrong as to how he will reappear, he is still definitely going to reappear at some point without a doubt for some reason or another 😁
