How awesome would it be if Shadow killed Tom I'm so serious. What better way to establish Shadow as the threat and put Shadow and Sonic on equal footing both at once. Sonic isn't a stranger to loss, Longclaw's death is the first thing we see in the movie one, but that happened years ago. Not to mention all of these "you've found your family" lines in the trailers does seem to lean more towards the idea that Sonic has moved on from Longclaw's death, plus he already had his "we're the same" moment with Knuckles last movie. Maria's death feels a lot more recent for Shadow, and wouldn't it just hit a lot harder for both Sonic and the audience for that loss to parallel Shadow's to be a character we've been getting to know for two movies, who has been a huge part in Sonic's development, especially as the first person he got close to after Longclaw's death?

Sonic in the movies is so distinctly different from his game counterpart, as well. Game Sonic has been pushed to his limits time and time again and his ideals have never wavered. Movie Sonic is relatively new to the whole hero gig. Obviously Sonic wants to stop Shadow and save the world, Sonic loved Green Hills even before Tom shot him with a tranquilizer. How far exactly does stopping Shadow go, though, for an unexperienced Sonic grappling with that kind of loss with the rest of his family on the line? When does it stop being about protecting the people he loves and about hurting the people who hurt him? Is this Sonic, in his darkest moment, any better than Shadow?

If the theory about Tom's father or grandfather once being in GUN is true, that opens an entirely new can of worms for Shadow. This is his revenge at the tamest level. Shadow did to Sonic what GUN did to him. Amy isn't here to knock some sense into him, so something has got to get through his skull that maybe mass murder is wrong. It would be interesting to see Shadow parse through something like that, at least.

Pokeddexy Day 26: Starter!

Marzipan, he/him, gentle & finicky. while a star performer and devastating in battle, his public celebrity persona is way more energetic than his actual personality. something of a trustworthy and reliable older brother and leader type to the team? while he is finicky about getting certain things just right and has multiple pet peeves, he doesn’t scold, he just sort of... looks disappointed at everyone until they scramble to fix it.

meowscarada beloved!!!! It was so hard to design him because meowscarada are... basically wearing a super cool outfit already it's hard to be original. I will never escape the transparent poofy pants/sleeves with opaque patterns... never. meowscarada is Like That so marzipan had to be at least a little bit sexy.... so garter thigh highs and poofy short shorts it is.

I was simply trying to take a nap.” “Oh, I don’t mind,” Antonio was quick to add. “Ms. Greene is a stowaway too and she and I are well on our way to being friends.”

“Where does it end?” Lewis demanded, throwing his hands up. “I go home to my tiny drafty flat where I can barely pay the bills, and Fynn supports his whole family and Paris has one too many accidents and loses a finger, and Velia gets trampled to death by a horse—” “It ends with us,” Antonio interrupted, before Velia’s imagined death could get any worse. “It ends where we choose it to.”     

Chill:

On the station platform, it was impossible to believe Velia was still in the city. Fog, thick enough to be masquerading as pea soup, swam and mingled with the steam rolling off the locomotive waiting on the tracks. Nearby lamps blinked feebly, and Velia’s nice maroon jacket wasn’t enough to keep her warm. Or maybe that was just fear chilling her bones.

behold! the most amazing banana and chocolate flake yogurt creation ever! there was the flakes of approx 3 yogurts in one pot bc the other two had exploded in transport. truly an icon of food.

also featuring two ponies i drew bc frankly i think they're cute and ive had no drive to draw anything for at least 6 months. ive been reliably informed that at least one of the names already belongs to a Canon pony so rip to that 😭 idk, i just think they're neat

You might have seen this already. Basically, I made a post about how horrified and pained Jiang-papa would be to find out Xie Wei had chased his little girl into the palm of his hand after all. Many people had superb additions to it, and if I can I'd like to turn it into a little ficlet. Maybe "5 times Jiang Boyou was in denial and one time he was just angry," or "Let's go! Stages of grief with Jiang-daren," or "Nothing so undoing as a daughter."

Anyway, the only thing in the doc that's not in the post is a note to myself:

The catalyst is Jiang Boyou hearing someone say: "Xie-daren always gets what he wants."

Sorry there's not much new.
