Queen Bee-atch Ⅴ (Regina George x Reader)

"No! Of course I'm not on board." Being zoned out for most of the week, you hadn't been listening to Janis' rambling, so you had no idea of her plan for Cady. Sighing, Janis sets her guitar to the side. "Dude, we've been talking about this plan for weeks, your opinion won't stop it." Damien chimes in from his place at your desk, "Yeah girl, Regina needs to be humbled. If anything, we're helping her."
You invited your friends over the second you got home from Regina's, with the intention of having a jam sesh, until you heard Damien bring up the next step of their sabotage plan. You roll your eyes at Janis' nodding, getting up from the floor. "No, this is insane. Regina doesn't need to be 'humbled'." Cady peaks her head out of your bathroom, your mascara in her hand, "Yes she does! She was about to steal Aaron away from me."
Your eyes bulge out of your head, "Are you fucking serious? That's what this is about?" Janis rolls her eyes at you, "You know what this is about. She made our lives a living hell in freshman year!" You scoff, shaking your head and taking your guitar from her, "Wow, people think you're a pyromaniac. Boohoo." Janis stands up and pushes your shoulders, making you drop your guitar,
"Regina treated me like shit!"
You push her back, "Me too! You don't see me overreacting about it!"
"This," She shoves you, "Is not an overreaction. You didn't even know her! She was my best friend! Becoming an antisocial bulimic bitch is an overreaction." The silence that follows is deafening.
Tears well up in your eyes, "Fuck you, Janis. You're a hypocrite, you're all hypocrites!"
You point at Cady, "You're literally dressed like a plastic right now. Also, you ditched me when I was blackout drunk, for a boy that you barely just met!" Turning your gaze towards Damien and Janis, "You guys don't sit alone because everybody hates you. You hate everybody! You are no different from Regina, you just hide it better."
"You hate everyone too!" Janis retorts, while Damien and Cady look at each other awkwardly. "Maybe, but I don't seek petty revenge on everyone that's ever wronged me! You don't think I hate Regina for what she's done?" You sit down on the ground, calming down. "I do, but making her miserable won't make me any happier, and it won't make you happier either." Janis sighs, taking a seat next to you, Cady and Damien following.
"Fine, we won't do it, but we can't take back what we've already done." Janis slaps Cady in warning. You raise an eyebrow, "What's that supposed to mean?" Damien sighs, "We may have...been responsible for her recent weight gain and pimples." You groan, falling backwards and laying down on the floor, "You guys are horrible. At least you can start sitting with us again, Cady...Cady?" You all turn to her as she looks up from her phone, "I just need one more day."
✮✮✮
It's been a couple of minutes since English class started. You were assigned to finish up the book report, so it was basically a free period. Feeling a tap on your shoulder, you slam your laptop closed.
"Uh, what were you doing?" You turn towards Regina, noting that she's wearing sweatpants, "Watching porn..?" She takes her seat, raising an eyebrow at you. You stare at her while she slowly drags your laptop towards her, opening it and turning it on.
Papa's pizzeria pops up on your screen. "In what world would watching porn be a better explanation than playing a game?" Regina looks at you in disbelief. "I panicked! I thought you were the teacher." She huffs out a laugh and pulls out her notebook while you take your laptop back. Regina turns to you, opens her mouth, then closes it and turns back to her notebook.
You ignore it, but after she does it for the fourth time you decide to ask,
 "Are you having a stroke-"
She interrupts, "I'm sorry!"
The class goes quiet, curious at what she could possibly be apologizing for. "Oh, uh. We don't have to talk about that." You scratch the back of your neck. She sighs and moves her chair to face you. "No, we do." You pinch the bridge of your nose before standing up and grabbing her arm, ignoring the teacher's objections and dragging her out of class. "Regina, we were young and stupid, it's fine."
Her face contorts in anger, "It's not! I was horrible to you, more than I was to anyone else. You didn't deserve that," She looks you up and down, "I shouldn't have made you feel like you needed to change anything about yourself."
You were speechless, Janis would never believe this. "Thank you, really, but I'm just one person out of hundreds that you've been horrible to. Why are you so worried about my opinion specifically?" She sputters while you raise your eyebrows at her, waiting for a reply. She rolls her eyes and drags you to the janitor's closet. Her eyes dart around the room, looking at everything except you. "I like you."
Your expression remains unchanged, "Uh okay, I like you too, you've been a good friend- Oh." Your eyes widen in realization. Regina panics at your silence and attempts to backtrack, "Oh, pfft, yeah that's what I meant! Friends, you're a good friend- mph!" You press your lips to hers, wrapping your arms around her neck.
After the initial shock, Regina relaxes into the kiss and places her hands on your waist, pushing you against the wall. The bell stops Regina's wandering hands, and you push her away, catching your breath. "This talk isn't over, Blondie." Regina smiles at you, "Come over today, we can talk all night long, puppy." You blush at the nickname and innuendo, lightly shoving her when she laughs. "Stop! Look, Janice has an art competition tonight. Can you come with me? You're gonna have to apologize to her too."
Regina shakes her head in disgust before you add, "I'll come over after and we can have that 'talk'-"
"I'll come!"
✮✮✮
Gretchen was pissed. Regina had blown her off for you, ditched her and Karen at a party for you, and walked out the janitor's closet with you! For her to have the audacity to try and sit at their table, in sweatpants, after all of that.
"Those rules are bullshit-"
Karen jumps in, "They weren't that day I wore a vest!"
"Yeah because that vest was hideous!"
"You can't sit with us!" The cafeteria goes quiet at Gretchen's screech. You, Janis, and Damien turn to face the commotion. "These are all that fit me right now," You can make out Regina admitting quietly. Gretchen turns to Cady, waiting for her decision. Your eyes bulge out of your head when you hear Cady's answer. Turning to Janis and Damien, you ask,
"Does she know the plan is off? Did she not hear anything we said?"
"She does! I don't know why she's acting like this." Janis replies,
Your jaw goes slack, "You literally made her like this."
"Look, maybe this is just a one time thing!"
The conversation is interrupted by Regina yelling, "Take a picture, it'll last longer." Your heart breaks for her, you make a mental note to talk to Regina. Trying to defuse the awkwardness, Damien brings up Janis's art competition. "Look, Cady promised she'd be there. We can talk to her about this then!" You scoff, "Yeah, we'll see."

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
note: fun fact this was supposed to be titled friends by chase atlantic but then i started going for a cliche hs romance vibe cause i went and listened to a 90s playlist um ANYWAYS @hopelesslyromanticshark HEYYY TWIN SURPRISE MAYBE?? IT WAS ME ALL ALONG 😈😈 ps this doubles as my apology for the pronunciation confusion FORGET I EVER STARTED THAT
content: leo valdez x reader, childhood best friends to lovers, mortal au; oneshot, 4.3k words
warnings: jealousy, little bit of angst (typical teenage drama 🙄), like one mention of not wanting to live, cursing, google translated spanish, lots of pov switches (my bad 😓), vague spoilers for the ballad of songbirds and snakes (like two lines abt it), clumsy confessions, denial (is it really denial if you just suck at feelings??)

"that was supposed to be my ice cream!" you marched up to a curly-headed boy, face scrunched up in childish anger. your parents were too busy catching up with friends to notice that you had strayed off.
said curly-headed boy turned to the sound of a shrill voice, his eyes meeting a pouty face with cheeks red in the summer heat. he raised the cone in his hand a bit higher. "this one?"
you nodded eagerly, hoping he was going to give it to you. "yeah!" you stretched out your hand to grab it from him, but the boy pulled it away at the last second.
he smiled mischievously, dimples flashing as he stuck his tongue out and licked a stripe up the stacked swirls of ice cream. "too bad!"
you gasped at the utter audacity of the other child, your bottom lip starting to tremble. one sniffle. two. soon, you were downright bawling on the sidewalk. the boy’s jaw dropped, his feet taking panicked little steps in place as he looked around.
"hey! hey, you can't cry! i'll ask my mama to buy you one!" he squeaked, trying to comfort you. he patted your back, which was quite hard to do with him bouncing around and holding an ice cream cone.
your sobs were quickly reduced into a sniffle as you blinked at him. "..really? and you're not gonna steal it this time?"
he nodded enthusiastically. "yep! i mean, no! i won't steal it!" he took your hand and ran to his mom, dragging you along.
you ran behind him, your tears replaced with excitement at the newly promised ice cream.
"mama!" the boy called out, stopping in front of a kind-looking woman who looked just like him. "meet my new friend!"
you smiled a bit shyly at the lady, giving her a wave.
she returned the gesture with a smile of her own, before facing the boy with a slight frown. "leo! sus padres podrían estar buscándola! did you ask her parents if she was allowed to go with you?" she chided, pinching his ear lightly.
leo cried out as his mother pinched his ear, even though he barely felt it. "no..! but le debo un helado!" he whined, shaking your interlocked hands for effect. "can you buy her one mama? pleaseee?"
she sighed in defeat, giving into two pairs of puppy eyes. "alright, alright. but we find her parents first, okay? what's your name?" she gave you a little wink, taking your other hand.
"i'm y/n!" you said with a bright smile as she agreed to get you a new ice cream. "my mommy and daddy are over there!" you pointed to a spot not too far from where you stood.
leo's mom nodded, leading your little trio in the direction you said. soon enough, you were reunited with your parents, who gave you a gentle scolding and thanked her. she explained the situation between you and leo, at which all the parents laughed at, much to your confusion. what was so funny about getting your (well, not exactly yours but you had your eyes on it, so, it was technically yours) ice cream stolen?
whatever, at least you got it at the end of the day—and a new friend!
ever since then, the two of you stuck together like glue. if elementary school teachers tried to separate you? either of you would throw a hissy fit. if your high school teachers tried to separate you? either of you would make up some elaborate bullshit about how well you guys work together and how productive the two of you would be (you were sure they never believed it, but they paired up the both of you anyway).
"like i know she probably didn’t get enough love as a child or something but does she have to take it out on her students? why even be a teacher?” you waved your hand in the air, the mess of papers on the desk long forgotten.
"exactly, like she really needs therapy." leo took his bite-ridden pencil out of his mouth to add a point.
"totally,” you agreed. “too bad it’s so expensive, otherwise-“
a cough behind you made you and leo turn around, already dreading the punishment about to befall you. you smile sheepishly at your history teacher, who had her arms crossed. "another word and i'll send you two to detention, you hear?"
the both of you shut your mouths and nodded in sync, waiting until she turned around to whisper. "she's feeling merciful today."
"detention!"
guess not.
you slumped against the desk, resting your head against your arms and sighed loudly. the teacher in charge of detention for the day gave you a glare, turning the page to his boring book about finance or something. you rolled your eyes once he looked away, and looked up at the clock. five more minutes.
you tapped a message on the desk, the morse code leo forced you to learn coming in handy once again. i'm so bored.
leo's head perked up from the similar slouch he was in. me too.
i'm coming over. you rapped your finger against the smooth wood. you were hungry just thinking about him and his mom's tacos. if you didn't know how much leo wanted to be a mechanic, you'd probably beg him to open a restaurant.
a little forward aren't you? he drummed his fingers back, raising his eyebrow.
just as you were about to reply, you were cut off with a "shh!" from the teacher, who then looked at his watch. he gave it a scowl, but motioned for the two of you to leave. "you're free to go."
the two of you raced to the door, eager to get out of the stuffy classroom.
"oh my gosh i thought he was never gonna let us leave!" you groaned, tugging on your backpack straps as you walked home with leo.
"i know! can't believe he wasted our precious hanging out time like that!" leo scoffed, nudging you with his shoulder.
you laughed, shoving him back. "exactly!"
the two of you walked in peaceful silence, up until leo tapped you on the shoulder and shouted, "tag, you're it!" and ran off ahead.
who runs with a backpack on? you didn't care, chasing after him and trying to get him. "not fair!" you yelled.
sprinting all the way, you made it to his house, panting and out of breath. as he leaned against the doorway, you smacked him upside the head. "you're it."
you didn't want to spend your friday afternoon doing extra work, but leo wanted the help and who were you to deny him? you knew it'd probably end up with the two of you on the couch, curled up next to each other and watching a (usually) pirated movie.
"so," leo started. you two were sprawled on your stomachs, doing homework on his wooden floor.
"what is it now?" you exhaled with exaggeration, not looking up from your book. your english teacher had said to read two chapters, but was that really enough? you were too invested, completely forgetting that you were supposed to help him analyze it.
"..wanna take a break?" he was already getting to his feet, looking down at you with a cheeky glint in his eyes.
you pretended to think. "hm, i don't know... shakespeare's getting really interesting..." you shrugged and turned back to your book.
leo pouted. "seriously!? he just spews random bullshit and everyone thinks its poetic!"
you kicked his foot, not letting the insult slide. "you know what? now i'm really not gonna take a break."
"oh come on! if i make you birria tacos will you come with me? my mom's been simmering the meat since earlier," he bargained, waggling his eyebrows.
"..maybe."
"holy shit." you moaned in bliss as you took a bite of one of the tacos leo had so kindly prepared. he chuckled at your reaction, it was the same every time he made it.
he grinned proudly, taking his plate from the coffee table and setting it on his lap. "good, right?" he switched on the tv, resting his other arm on the back of the couch.
you let out an unintelligible noise of agreement, mouth stuffed. you swallowed. "can we watch the new hunger games movie?"
he hummed, taking out his laptop and searching for it on some illegal website. "again? we already watched it in the theaters."
you rolled your eyes. "yes, again. it's my turn to pick."
his lips quirked up the slightest. "yeah, yeah." he clicked on the movie, connected his laptop to the tv and pressed play.
the two of you were watching intently as coriolanus snow kissed lucy gray like a starved man.
"goddamn," you breathed out.
"i know." leo nodded, his eyes flicking to you for a moment. your legs were folded under the blanket you guys shared. during the duration of the movie, the two of you had somehow huddled closer together, probably due to the cold, he thought. his arm was now over your shoulder, your knees touching his.
he felt something stir in his heart. maybe it was the kissing scene, maybe it was the underlying feeling of sadness that came with winter, but god did he suddenly get overwhelmed with the feeling of wanting a girlfriend. he'd probably flirt with every girl in the world if it meant he could find true love. he suddenly felt hyper-aware of the way you were nestled in his arms, of the casual way you two touched each other. leo would love to do these things in a romantic sense. but, not with you, of course. i mean, you were his bestest friend, it'd be weird to think otherwise.
your heart fluttered wildly as you played it cool, not letting the way his legs were intwined with yours affect you. you didn't know exactly when you started feeling this way, all you knew was that something about his touch never failed to send you sparks of fire.
but fire burns.
you heard leo suck in a breath. "you know your friend alicia?"
you froze, the butterflies in your stomach turning into ash. "yeah, she's my friend, 'course i'd know her."
"great, so you wouldn't mind setting me up with her, right?" he winked at you, tugging at the ends of your hair.
you bit your tongue, mood dampening. why did he always have to ruin the moment by asking about some other girl? i mean, am i not enough or something? "..i'll think about it."
he frowned. usually you'd agree right away. "is that a yes?"
"i told you i'd think about it, now can we just watch?" you turned back to the tv, eyes looking but not seeing.
leo didn't seem to get the hint, still pushing the topic. "why think? it's not like you haven't done it before! are you really not gonna help your best friend out?"
"maybe i'm really not," you said sarcastically. it was getting more and more difficult to keep the irritation from your voice, and he was already starting to notice.
"whoa, okay, what're you so mad about?" he took his arm off your shoulder, turning to face you directly. "did i say something wrong?"
"nope."
he took your sardonic tone as your usual sarcasm and kept prodding. "okay... so you'll help me then? i mean, that's all you're for! you don't wanna be my best friend and do your job?" he laughed, poking fun at you like usual. but the feeling in your gut twisted his offhand comment in a way that hurt.
"if you're just gonna keep me around to set you up with a bunch of girls then maybe i don't want to be your friend anymore!" you snapped, agitation finally breaking the thin mask of patience you had.
leo set down his empty plate on the table, needing to give his hands something to do. "i was just- you know that's not why you're my friend!" he chuckled incredulously.
you stayed silent, letting his words dissolve in the air.
his eyebrows furrowed at your lack of response, as if trying to decipher the finality of your words. "you don't.. you don't mean that do you?"
"maybe i do." you stood up, the blanket falling off your legs. you grabbed your backpack, a reminder of what you guys were supposed to be working on.
leo quickly followed suit, springing to his feet and speeding after you as you walked towards the front door. "wait! i was just kidding! c'mon we can talk about this!" a hint of desperation seeped into his voice as he grabbed your wrist.
"we already did." you shot him a glare over your shoulder. he froze. he'd never seen that aimed at him. playful irritation, sure, but never that. not to him. his hand dropped your arm in shock, and you took your leave.
"i said, are you trying to kill me!?" the tv was still on.
the walk to school was quiet without leo, that you'd admit. you even got up a half hour early just so you wouldn't see him. yeah, it was a little petty, but you weren't exaggerating in your words. he had other friends, you had other friends—you're choosing to ignore the fact that half of them were mutual—you guys would be fine without each other. especially you.
except you forgot the fact that you guys were seated next to each other for nearly all your classes. that was awkward. everyone around you sensed the tension in the air, with you pointedly looking away from leo, at the board, and him trying to do the same. you could feel his leg shake the table as he bounced his knee, as well as the side glances he gave you.
even so, you continued to ignore him and the stupidly cute way his lips pursed into a frown. you weren't getting over it that easy.
leo fucked up. like, seriously fucked up. he hasn't fucked up this bad since.. well, since his invention quite literally blew up in his face. but this? this was like your friendship figuratively blew up in his face! and it felt even worse. he took a deep breath, rolling over in his bed with his blanket half-off. he brought the fabric up to his nose, inhaling the faint scent of your perfume that had stayed since last friday. without you, his thoughts felt louder than usual. they ran free in his mind, ranging from what should i eat for dinner? to god, did i mess up our whole friendship? was i taking her for granted when i kept asking her for relationship advice? why did i even do that? i didn't even really like any of those girls. what's wrong with me?
he curled up into a ball, squeezing the blanket to his chest and burying his face in it. leo willed himself to cry, but no tears would come. the overwhelming feeling in his chest had no way to escape. his heart thumped heavily, each painful beat reminding him of why he should've never been allowed to live.
"...and that's why you should- hey! are you even listening?" piper frowned, raising an eyebrow at leo, who was picking at his food.
he didn't answer, too busy moving the gross cafeteria food around his tray as he drooped against the table.
"okay, i know that you've got your little lover's quarrel with y/n, but you've gotta stop sulking and start doing." piper crossed her arms, eyeing him with a very unimpressed look. "did you seriously not hear a word i said? talk to her! apologize! it's been a week already!"
leo groaned, his head resting in his arms. “i know! and- wait did you just say ‘lover’s quarrel!?’” his head shot up, face feeling warm all of a sudden. “pipes, she’s just a friend! like you!”
piper gave him a disbelieving hum. “‘just a friend’ my ass! everyone can see how you look at her!” that’s why all the girls you make her set you up with never go on a second date.
leo genuinely looked confused. “what? i look at her normally, what are you talking about?”
jason, who was silent throughout the whole exchange, chortled a laugh. the two whipped their heads to him, the sudden noise from him surprising. "are you serious? leo, i don't think even i'm that oblivious!" he shared a look with piper that only the two would understand. ugh. another couple thing leo feels he'll never get.
leo's eye twitched. "oblivious about what? y/n's my best friend, i don't see what's so weird about that!"
the pair sighed. "you'll get it one day," jason said firmly, clapping him on the shoulder with solemn resolution.
"okay..?"
a whole week. leo had never gone without talking to you for a whole week! this was driving him insane! yeah, he knew you were mad at him and by default, he was supposed to be mad at you, but it was too much! next period, leo thought resolutely. i'll get her to talk to me next period. which just so happened to be his last period because although he had been thinking of this the whole day, he was too nervous to confront you earlier. he took a deep breath in and walked into chemistry class.
fate must hate him. or maybe his science teacher. right when when he slipped into his seat beside you, she clasped her hands together and cleared her throat. "class! today were going to be switching seats!" leo swore he saw her look at him as he said that. what did he ever do to her!? his heart sunk as he realized he might not sit next to you anymore. surely the teacher's gonna keep us together? i mean, they've all done that since like, the start of the year! she won't be any different.. right?
oh he was so wrong. leo pouted in his spot at the back of the class, watching you from across the room as you chatted it up with some jock. why is she being so smiley!? isn't she supposed to be mad? i mean, yeah, she's only mad at me, but doesn't that mean she's supposed to be grumpy in general!? why am i the only one who looks affected by this!?
the girl next to him cleared her throat, snapping him out of his thoughts. "uh, we need to start the experiment," she said without emotion, as if the mere action of talking to him was boring. seriously, why did everyone hate him today? it's not like they know anything that happened!
"oh.. right." leo took his notebook out and set it to the side, moving the vials to the center of the desk. he felt the girl's stare dig into his side, like she was looking at him with disdain. leo sighed. this was going to be a long period.
how did leo even end up here? parties weren't really his thing. he only came because he heard that you'd be here, but you were nowhere to be seen. leo leaned against a wall, trying not to look like a complete loser as he stood by himself. he took out his phone, navigating to his trusty weather app. where were you? if not you, then jason and piper? even percy or annabeth would do! they're probably each hooking up in a bathroom or something.. he thought with a grimace, trying to get the mental picture out of his head. leo wandered around with a cup of fanta, hoping to see you in the crowd.
you sipped from your red solo cup, the bubbly taste of soda delightfully stinging your tongue. this party's kinda boring... it'd be more fun with- you cut off your thoughts with a shake of your head. whatever. you had girl friends you could hang out with. as you made your way to them, a tap on your shoulder got your attention.. is it..? you turned around. it wasn't. you ignored the feeling in your stomach and smiled at the familiar—but not familiar enough—face of your new seatmate.
"oh hey! i didn't know you were coming!" you greeted with a smile.
he laughed, raising his eyebrow. "you think i'd miss this? i mean, look at me!" he gestured to himself quite vainly. "i throw these kinds of parties!"
you chuckled, nodding along to be polite. "uh, yeah, for sure!"
the both of you fell into an awkward silence that seemed to stretch out for forever.
leo spotted you across the room, the chatter around him seeming to die down as he saw you with that guy. i mean, seriously, he wasn't even your type! and, he'd know your type! like, weren't you guys just talking shit about jason's football friends? you could do so much better. like.. like me. leo's eyes widened. holy fuck. that's it! the feeling in his chest was akin to tightening the last screw of his project. the words his two friends had said to him earlier came rushing back with sudden clarity. they day he finally got it was sooner than expected. with a determined blaze in his heart, he slipped through the crowd and made his way to you.
you took the lull in your conversation as a sign to go to your other friends. "so, i'm gonna-"
"hey, i was going to-" he started.
the both of you stopped mid-sentence after speaking at the same time. you guys laughed it off, with you waving off his muttered apology.
"you can go first," you said, dipping your head at him to continue.
he cleared his throat, looking into your eyes intently. "well, i was wondering if you'd wanna go ou-"
"y/n!" leo strode up to you as if the fight between the two of you had never happened.
your face scrunched up in confusion, too perplexed to remember that you were supposed to be ignoring him. "leo? what are you-" he cut you off, directing his words to the other guy.
"hey, sorry if i interrupted something, but i gotta talk to y/n for a sec," leo flashed his teeth, mischievous dimples showing.
the jock's eyes widened as he took a step back. "oh.. oh, my bad man! i didn't think you guys were- are you really?" he laughed with obvious embarrassment, shaking his head as he retreated. "guess so.." he muttered under his breath as he faded into the crowd.
leo's hand slipped around your waist as he weaved the both of you in between people. his jaw was clenched, a sight you've only seen when he was concentrated on one of his many inventions. "what the hell are you doing?" you repeated your question, ignoring the way his touch sent familiar sparks down your spine. you shied away from it, half to push away your feelings and the other to keep up your fight out of pure pettiness.
his hand twitched as you moved away, his eyes narrowing as he stared straight ahead. but leo made no move to grab you again, ever the gentleman. "just come with me. please."
his tone itself was enough to make you listen to him without question. never had you seen him so.. serious. you found yourselves in an empty guest room, music thumping softly behind the walls.
"y/n," leo murmured, finally speaking as he turned around. his eyes were shifty, looking everywhere but directly into yours. you could see the way he chewed on the inside of his lip, as if rehearsing the words he had yet to say.
"i- i don't want you to talk to that guy." he blurted out after a beat of silence. his cute face wasn't enough to distract you from his words, however.
"excuse me?" you stared at him, your rose-tinted glasses shattering immediately.
leo shifted on his feet, realizing how off-putting he sounded. "not- not like that! sorry, i mean like-" he swallowed thickly, his leg starting to bounce.
"fuck i really suck at this, huh?" he muttered under his breath, before daring to look into your eyes.
"i mean i want you to talk to me instead because.. i like you. i want to be the one you talk to, like we used to. but- more than that because i like like you." he fumbled over his words, trailing off at the end as his eyes dipped down once again.
what? you opened your mouth to answer but he beat you to it to continue.
"i'm really sorry for how i acted like a jerk. and taking you for granted and making you set me up with practically every girl you knew. to tell you the truth, i don't know why i did that, 'cause i never really like any of 'em. or i thought i did and then i just, didn't and-" he would've rambled on forever if you hadn't cut him off with a kiss.
you heard him squeak in the back of his throat, hands tensing at his sides before gingerly wrapping around your waist, as if he was scared of messing up again. the both of you pulled away after a soft minute, his disbelieving eyes staring back at your playful expression. boy, did he miss the way you looked at him like that.
"took you long enough." you laughed, hitting his shoulder lightly. "better not make me set you up with anyone ever again."
his face broke into a wide grin, never faltering even as you punched him. he brought you back into his arms, hugging you tightly. "the only person i'd want to be set up with is you." he drew back only slightly, his hands trailing up your body until he cupped your face, squishing your cheeks gently. "so? will you let me take you on a date?"
your smile was one that rivaled the sun, one he'd like to center his world around forever. "are you kidding? obviously!"
the kiss he gave you after was one you'd remember forever.
("twenty bucks jason, pay up!" piper whispered, peering through the crack in the door.
"..fuck.")

History Must Repeat Itself - Chapter 11
Author's Note: Some more between seasons fun... Thanks to everyone who's enjoying! I've had an easy enough time posting this story on here but I've got to put my head down and get back to writing. Maybe I'll make a post soon about my book that's coming out next year :)

---
End of June 1985
I eyed teenagers wandering in and out of the bookstore, making a mess of every shelf they touched. The Starcourt Mall opened in time for the summer rush. My manager had confidently decided to open mall location and I jumped at the chance to work here. On top of the significantly better air conditioning, more people came through in a day than some weeks in the stand alone store.
My work days got better when I found out Robin worked at the mall's ice cream shop. We both had shifts on the mall's opening day and planned to get lunch in the sparkling new food court. When I'd wandered into Scoops Ahoy, my feet stopped. My torso leaned forwards and a cackle slipped from my mouth. Steve 'The Hair' Harrington was leaned against the counter, chatting with Robin. His head snapped at the sound of my laugh, tears welled in my eyes. Robin began giggling at my reaction, but Steve's face turned red. He hadn't told me that where his new job was. Neither had informed me they'd have a uniform. The tears were from the sailor's hat sitting on Steve's head. The ascot and the 'AHOY' written on the hat were the cherry on top.
Steve banned me from entering Scoops Ahoy again.
A quiet girl walked up to the counter with an arm full of books. She was a regular customer and we started having a quiet conversation. I glanced up a moment later, seeing a line had formed and I held back a sigh. Days when it was busy, working alone crappy.
"Look at all these beautiful words!"
Everyone's heads turned to the door, surprised by the loud voice. I looked too, though I knew who it was. Eddie Munson, adorn in his leather jacket, held his arms in the air. The man looked like he was constantly attending a rock concert. He turned, making eye contact with me before pointing my way.
"And there's the beautiful word keeper!"
I shook my head, a smile growing by itself. I quietly apologized to the girl as I handed her the receipt. As I cashed out the customers, I kept looking over to Eddie, running his fingers along the books' spines aimlessly. He appeared to be intently reading titles. Mentally, I rolled my eyes at his act. Eddie wasn't here to get any new releases. He owned five books and they were all Tolkien.
Eddie joyfully slammed his hands against the counter once the customers disappeared.
"So." Eddie rested his chin on his hands. "What book are we discussing today."
I reached under the counter, grabbing the notebook and pen I'd brought for him. He wasn't allowed to take it home. I'd never see them again. Turning to a clean page, I glanced up at a smiling Eddie.
"I know you hated Shakespeare." His face twisted in disgust. "So, I figured we'd do a fun one. 'Salem's Lot' by Stephen King."
He shot me with finger guns before running off into the store. This coming school year would be Eddie's third time doing senior year. And since it was my senior year, I was making sure he graduated. I couldn't leave Hawkins High in good conscience with my best friend still eating lunch in that cafeteria. I wouldn't be able to do all of his homework for him. The teachers would notice. Over the summer, we were analyzing books and he would write about them enough that he'd be familiar with the process. It wasn't perfect, but I'd be able to help edit for a passing grade. If worse came to worst, I'd steal Steve's old homework and change it a little. Eddie Munson was graduating in 1986.
"Where's my sister and Max?" I asked as Eddie dropped a copy of the book onto the counter.
He shrugged. "Girls ran off as soon as they got out of the van. They know to come here when they're done though. I made them repeat the words out loud five times."
I snorted. "This is why Madison likes Steve more than you sometimes."
Eddie made a face that I'd truly offended him. It was an exaggeration, since Steve was just as strict on her as Eddie was. More so, usually. Explaining the book to Eddie, we used an old assignment he'd found crumpled up in the back of his van from last year as discussion points. Unsurprisingly, he was doing great. It was Stephen King, of course he was doing well.
I heard my sister and Max thundering closer before they entered the store.
"Oh, Jess! Jess, Jess, Jess! Guess what?"
Madison bumped against Eddie, her eyes wide with excitement. He stumbled out of the way, dramatically. She barely looked at him, rolling her eyes. Max silently laughed at the pair. My eyebrows rose in the center, a little concerned.
"Do I want to know?"
Madison smacked Max on the arm. "Tell her!"
The red head rolled her eyes. "Billy got a job at the pool. Lifeguard."
My jaw dropped. I understood my sister's amusement now. Like Steve, Billy refused to tell me where he was working this summer. He was so secretive about it, he'd even threatened to shave Max's head if she told me. This was better than anything I'd guessed.
"It's his first day today," Madison stated, a grin on her face. I knew what she was alluding to. I sighed, glancing down at my watch.
"My replacement comes in half an hour," I told them. "I'll give you guys twenty dollars. Go buy yourselves bathing suits and towels. Get me one too. Madison, you know my size."
I pulled my wallet out of my back pocket and handed them the money. "If you're not back in forty five minutes, I'm going home without you. Got it?"
Both girls yelled thanks and headed for the main corridor. Madison gasped, gripping the edge of the door frame.
"Oh, I forgot! We walked in on Steve horribly flirting with girls. They literally walked out, laughing. Another point on the 'You Suck' side."
Not looking for a response, my sister disappeared. I shook my head with an airy chuckle before peering at Eddie. He was smiling too, but at me.
"Where were we?" I asked.
"Are you really going to the pool to ogle at Billy Hargrove? I thought we could smoke at my place." Eddie leaned deeper onto the counter.
"Ogling at Billy Hargrove with his baby sister? Not at all" I said, smiling to the new customer. "Going to the pool to make fun of Billy Hargrove with his little sister? Yes. Do you want to come?"
Eddie's eyebrows raised. "And potentially tan my beautifully pale skin? Never. Also, I'm sure the mothers would call the cops because they think I'm tricking children into drugs."
I messed with Eddie's bangs. "Yes, I'd be very upset to see your pale skin burnt. I'm sure without your shirt too, all the mums would be drooling. I'd be very jealous."
He smirked, straightening to his full height. Leaning over the counter, Eddie smacked a kiss on my cheek. I felt the blush but did my best to push it away by rolling my eyes.
"Alright, ring the book up so I can go and study," Eddie said, playing a beat with his hands against the counter. "You distract me."
"Okay, when you're done, call me." I began handing everything over to him, but paused. "Don't smoke weed in a closed room with it this time. The last time you did, my boss was pissed that 'A Tale of Two Cities' had to be tossed."
"I pinky-promise. I'll smoke outside." Eddie put the book and notebook into his bag. "Enjoy making fun of porn 'stache." He tossed his backpack over his shoulder. "By the way, I thought you said he was going to shave it?"
I rolled my eyes. "He said he was, but some hot mum complimented it. Apparently the porn 'stache is staying for the summer."
He nodded. "It satisfies me deeply that he doesn't understand how ridiculous he looks."
I followed Madison and Max through the mall's busy corridor. I did my best to keep my head down, avoiding potentially eye contact with numerous Hawkins High students.
"Jess?" I glanced at the girls. "I'd like to observe that there's enough change left for us to get ice cream. Do you concur?"
I smirked, glancing over their heads at the bright Scoops Ahoy sign. Taking the change out of my pocket, it didn't shock me that my sister was right. I dramatically waved them ahead and both girls quietly celebrated while they rushed into the shop.
"Welcome to Scoops Ahoy, I'll be your - oh it's just you two again," I heard Steve say as I walked into the store. His eyes flickered up to me, the annoyance disappeared and a small, embarrassed smile replaced it. Casually he snatched his sailor's hat off but covered up the action by running his fingers through his hair.
"Hey," he greeted as I stopped at the counter. Before I could respond, Robin burst through the doors coming from the back room. Her mouth was opened wide and her eyes were huge.
"Jess! Steve slipped on melted ice cream. I wish I had a video camera or you could go into my mind and see it. It was incredible!"
I tried to squelch the grin that shot to my face. Poor Steve looked so embarrassed. I reached across and poked his nose. I gave him a dramatic pout.
"I'm sure the ice cream was very noticeable and the scream was very manly."
Steve's expression turned to a pout with a grateful smile, his eyes warming. He sneered at Robin, his hands on his hips.
"See, that's how a decent person reacts after a brief laugh! Not asking to run across the mall to tell friends!"
"One friend!" Robin insisted. "I wanted to tell one friend."
Madison and Max laughing through closed lips at the Scoops employees. However, they looked at each other and their laughter burst past their lips.
"Girls, calm down," I said with an eye roll. "Can we use your staff room quickly to change? Taking these two into a public bathroom is worse than toddlers."
Steve swung his arm towards the door. They dashed into the back, still giggling. I stepped up to the counter, pulling change out of my pocket.
"One scoop of vanilla, and then one scoop each of whatever the problem children want please," I said to Steve. Looking up, a blush rose to the surface at how warmly he smiled at me. I broke eye contact after placing the correct money down. During the school year, there were moments of fluster in my chest when I looked at Steve or when we stood too close, or when I woke up on his shoulder. I focused on other things when it happened, but I always knew it happened.
Hearing footsteps, two teenage girls close to my age approached the counter. I smiled at them politely, moving out of the way. I sat down at the table closest to the counter and picked at my nails as I waited.
"Are you Steve?" one of the girls asked. His eyebrows scrunched together.
"Yes ma'am. How can I help you?"
I glanced at Robin behind the back counter and we both hid smirks at his genuine confusion that a girl was talking to him.
"My friend was in a class as you and she said that you're a great make-out." Steve's eyebrows shot up. "And that you're pretty good in bed. I was hoping we could talk."
My eyelids slid shut as the confident girl finished her very bold statement. Locking my jaw, I counted through meditative breaths to stop myself from bursting out in laughter. Girls had tried asking Steve out before, but never this forward. The back door swung open, Madison and Max appeared in mid-conversation. Steve looked between them, me and the two new females with his mouth hanging open.
"You're up. Bag is back there," Madison stated, dropping down in the booth. I grushed behind the counter, not looking at Steve or the teenage girls. Glancing to the side, Robin was bent down behind the window hand over her mouth to keep herself silent. I whipped around, away from her. If we kept eye contact any longer, neither of us were going to be able to keep our cool.
I did my best to keep part of my body covered as I changed into the bathing suit Madison had chosen for me. I cursed my younger sister as I manoeuvred the straps, getting tangled. Hopping around with the hope it would just adjust into place, I smacked my thigh into the single table.
"Crap," I muttered. "ow."
Feeling the final strap smoothly smack into place, I put my hands on my hips and stared at the roof.
"Thank God," I muttered. I spun as a short knock sounded on the door and the handle turned.
"Hey Jess, are you - " Steve walked in, not expecting the door to open. He froze, mouth hung open mid sentence. Steve's eyes wandered over my body before staring at my stomach, though I had a feeling he wasn't actually seeing me.
"Steve?"
Seeming to hear my voice, he sharply inhaled and made eye contact. His mouth never closed as he backed out, shutting the door in his own face. I glanced in the small mirror the room provided. Did it look bad? I thought burgundy was a good choice on Madison's part.
After putting my clothes on over top of the bathing suit and grabbing the bag of towels, I exited the dingy back room. I pushed the swinging door open, Robin, Steve, and my sisters jump apart. Steve peeked at me quickly before opening an ice cream freezers and started making our cones. Robin smirked at me, before dramatically analyzing a bag of cookie crumbs. Max and Madison didn't look at me, both staring at the ice cream through the plastic window. Okay then.
When he handed my cone across the counter, Steve didn't make eye contact. I glanced at Robin who seemed to be fighting to keep her face neutral again. What did I miss? Madison and Max enthusiastically said bye to the Scoops Ahoy employees and rushed out of the shop. I followed them without looking back.
As I drove us across town to the community pool, the interaction with Steve played over in my head. I was probably reading into whatever happened. Any time Steve started acting too weird, I got worried. Maybe it was time he stopped sleeping over. I saw all the domestic parts of him that regular friends shouldn't see of each other. He cooked Madison and I breakfast, I saw him out of the shower, he drove Madison to after school clubs while I worked. I'd even planned meals around his work schedule.
However another part of me pointed out Eddie helped me out with domestic things too. Parts of his wardrobe constantly ended up in my laundry. He'd worked on my car, mostly when I didn't feel like doing it myself.
The two men rarely crossed over in my life. Neither could understand why I liked the other. The only thing they agreed on was the fact they thought Billy was horrible.
Parking the car in the almost full parking lot, I turned to the girls in the backseat. "We're staying for an hour unless something really exciting happens or Billy is forced in the water and ruin his hair. Then we stay longer."
"Hey Jess?" I turned to Max in the backseats. "Have I told you recently that I love you?"
I laughed as we got out of the car. At the trunk, we took our clothes off and grabbed the towels. I was glad I'd made the decision to change at Scoops. The pool was packed as we walked through the gates. I pointed out the lounger that I planned to sit in while the girls got in the pool.
Opening my battered copy of 'Interview With The Vampire' kept in the car's glove compartment, I adjusted my sunglasses. I made it through three pages before female voices rose next to me. I noticed the influx of mothers sitting in the loungers. I recognized Karen Wheeler amongst them. All of them were extremely dolled up and kept looking in the same direction. They all shifted to stretch their legs out at the same moment. Scratching my nose, I followed their gaze but it didn't take much to guess who they were watching.
Billy Hargrove strutted across the concrete, pushing his aviators into place. As he passed, every female voice fell silent but once he was gone, their voices rose by octaves. I rolled my eyes. Billy elicited the same reaction from women of all ages. I couldn't disagree with the feelings because he did the same thing to me, but unlike the girl at Scoops Ahoy, I'd never be tempted to proposition him. Ignoring the mothers alluding to sexual things about Billy, I went back to my book.
"Well look at this familiar face," Billy's voice rung out, shadow falling onto me. I sighed, purposefully louder than needed, dropping my book onto my lap. I hoped he'd missed me and kept walking to his post. But Billy, wearing only small red shorts and a whistle, stood at the end of my chair. My friend cockily smiled at me, hands on his hips.
"Is there something I can do for you, Mr. Hargrove?"
"Ou, I like it when you call me that. Remember that for later. There's a couple other things I'd like to hear you call me too."
I scoffed, glimpsing at the pool goers. "Don't you have a job to be doing? You know, stopping children from drowning or anything other than bothering me?"
His jaw pushed to the side, a challenging smile erasing the cocky one. He was tempted to respond, but we both knew too many ears were listening. I couldn't help but enjoy pushing his temptations in public. He risked regular emotions sometimes.
Instead, Billy walked away, getting up on the lifeguard stand.
I wasn't able to focus on my book. Annoyingly, my attention kept jumping to Billy at the other end of the pool. He looked so casual, sitting seven feet in the air. Forcing myself to look away, I found the girls in the water. They were both in the shallow end, talking to other kids.
"Hey. You're the new girl, right?"
I peered through my eyelashes at unfamiliar male sitting by my feet. His short blonde hair was still drying and he had a pretty smile on his face. I pulled myself up to a better sitting position.
"I mean you're a few months late, but yeah I am."
The boy held his hand out. "I'm Ryan. Good to meet you."
I put my hand in his. "Jess."
"I knew that actually. New person in Hawkins, you're kinda infamous," he said with an awkward smile. "Are you here with your friends or your boyfriend?"
Smooth. I lightly bit down on my lower lip. "No, I'm waiting for my sister and her friend to tire themselves out. My friends have little free time to sit poolside." I paused for a moment. "No boyfriend overall."
"I can't believe your friends wouldn't join you. Leave you here to fend for yourself."
I let out a small laugh. "You know, they usually don't worry until something actually happens."
"Well, I guess since I'm here, I'll have to watch over you," Ryan stated, crossing his arms. "Sounds like it's the safest option."
I gave him a genuine smile, trying not to admire his arm muscles that he flexed. I hoped he associated the red flush of my skin to sun exposure.
"You're my hero. Thank you for risking your day."
Ryan leaned back, resting one hand on my calf. Mentally, I thanked whatever God in the sky made me decide to shave the night before.
I wasn't sure how long the conversation lasted, but I enjoyed the flirt conversation No one had genuinely flirted with me in a long time. I mean, I was always surrounded by tweens and my friends. It kept new people away.
I found out he'd graduated with Steve and was on the basketball team. I kept my friendship with Steve close to my chest and even wore a fake smile when Ryan made a few jabs about him, attempting low humour. I lost a little interest in him at that moment. He made up for it by complimenting my rushed swimsuit.
Checking around the pool, I saw my sister and Max sitting on the pool's edge, watching me. Having readjusted my seating position during the conversation, I was able to place my hand on Ryan's arm.
"Sorry, would you mind giving me a minute? I've got to check on my sister."
I walked around the pool to the girls, purposefully walking the opposite direction of Billy. I'd done my best not to look at him during my conversation with Ryan. I hoped he'd been paying too much attention to the other swimmers to notice me. I crouched beside them.
"When are you two ready to go?"
"We've been ready for at least ten minutes, but you don't flirt often. Especially anyone who's likely to make a move. We thought you could get some practice."
I opened my mouth, offended but shut it again. "Fine. Let me get my stuff and we can go."
"Okay, but get his phone number. Maybe you'll actually leave the house one night."
I glared at my sister as I stood up. "If I go on a date, I'm getting Steve and Eddie to babysit you. Together."
Max barked in laughter at her look of pure terror as I returned to my chair. Ryan smirked when I got back.
"I'm sorry, my sister wants to go."
"Oh, can't your parents come get her? I was thinking we could go for some food at the mall."
The innocent sentence made my stomach turn and I suddenly I didn't want his phone number for some unspoken reason.
"My mum is working right now," I said, my voice dry. "And I work at the mall. Maybe I'll see you there sometime."
I grabbed my book, tossing it in my purse and straightened. Ryan stood, holding his hand out. I smiled, letting him help me up. Unexpectedly, he tugged me forward a step and placed a kiss on my cheek. My face began to heat up from the gesture. I was a little uncomfortable with the move. I waved and turned to walk away.
"By the way, I grabbed a pen from your bag and wrote my number inside of your book. Call me later," Ryan called. I froze mid-step, almost unable to believe the words that came from his mouth. Beginning to face him again, a roaring laughter came from beside me. Billy walked past us, a smile on his face. Of course he heard that. I gave Ryan an annoyed smile, no words to say.
"I'm never calling him," I said to the girls when we reached the car.
"Why? He was so cute!"
I looked at them as I popped the button of my jeans into place. "He wrote his phone number in my book. With a pen."
Their jaws dropped, instantly understanding. I decided to drive home without my shirt, still warm from the sun. Opening the car door, I heard my name.
"Well I'm glad you put more clothes on. We don't need any car accidents out here," I said, crossing my arms. Billy was wearing regular shorts now, and a white tank top.
He smirked. "I could say the same thing about you."
I rolled my eyes, pushing away the warmth inside of me that Billy caused. "What can I help you with, Hargrove? Don't you have mothers to flirt with?"
"I'm on my break, but I just wanted to ask how was your conversation with Ryan? I saw lots of smiles, but I have a feeling from his stupid decision to deface your book. That poor guy never has a chance." Billy's eyes twinkled with amusement. "What book did he write in by the way?"
"Why? So you can make fun of me?"
Billy licked his lower lip. "A little bit but honestly, it's more to make fun of him. I almost said something when you went to talk to the brats."
"We heard that! Jess, can we go?" Madison called from inside the car.
"I'm coming," I responded, looking back at Billy. "It was 'Interview With the Vampire', okay?"
The smile on Billy's face dropped a little. "Oh crap, I'm sorry. I know that's like, in your top five."
My heart stuttered that Billy remembered my favourite books. I shrugged. "I'll cut the page out or something." I placed my hand on his crossed arms. "Go have a snack or something. And water. I'll see you tonight when I drop Max off."

Liveblogging Dead Friend Forever Ep 8
Shit has hit the fan and is going to continue hitting the fan this episode. Let's go!
Tee didn't steal the cash Non gave him to pay off his mafia debts? I am, honestly, shocked. I am not, however, shocked that mafia uncle thinks that Non is a police spy. This is not going to end well for Non but at least mafia uncle ends up in jail.
creepy teacher keng is going to get his ass a pair of cement shoes and I am here for it. dude, you are a math tutor why are you trying to investigate the mafia. They really are not trying hard to hide the fact that this is a mafia front. "the bathrooms are off limits, order food and get the fuck out" indeed. The closeup on the water jug makes me suspect poison but instead we get the frankly hilarious getting hit by a car scene, i hope that's how he dies.
OOoof, this favoritism from Non's mom is painful. Like, we knew she probably loved New best but hearing it...yikes. Non's not a good kid, like New is! Non can't do anything right, like New can! Poor Non.
Non's breakdown is so sad. this kid is Going Through It on all fronts.
oh my god, those voices reading the tweets...the salacious tones. so gross. Be On Cloud is Making A Point. very well done.
Non writing out the kills exactly how they happen 3 years from now. Either Non is (one of) the Killers or the killers found the script. So like, YES this is a revenge story! That shouldn't be shocking or disappointing to you, it was telegraphed! The fun is in how we get there not in complicated twists for twists sake! ok, moving on.
Tee being ordered to kill Non...i see i see. Tee doesn't like Non at all but is still horrified at the thought of killing him or his uncle killing Non. because Tee IS still a highschool kid himself, no matter how long his uncle has been making him do mafia shit is probably wasn't that. Tee's still got some goodness/innocence in him, which is probably the side he shows White.
LMAO at the netizens causing problems. yeah that sounds about right!
i am dying to see the awkward conversation between Jin and Non about Non coming back to finish the movie.
Tee being suspiciously nice. he's either plotting to kill Non to prove himself to his uncle or feeling incredible guilt that he's going to take Non to his uncle to get silenced. Or a mix of both! if I was Non i would not trust that water lol.
Jin stares at Non but can't even meet his eyes when Non looks back at him. GOOD. I don't care if he was upset about his crush 'sleeping with someone else', you don't just record people like that! He is, in fact, old enough to know that, even if he has poor impulse control because he's a dumb teenager.
is the prop an ACTUAL AXE. lol. lmao even. how did none of you realize this was going to end badly?!
Anyway, the knife being Non's, actually, is so fun. Just another little detail that the killers wanted the boys to recognize the calling card that's why Por got cut up a bit after he got stabbed by the branch.
You tell them, Non!
Oh, Top getting stabbed and Fluke having to take care of him...part of what Fluke was talking about how it's always him taking care of those things. I'm glad Non got to stab Top a little.
Jin trying to apologize for everyone but let's play some One Republic ft Timbaland 🎵🎶Because It's Too Late! To Apologiiiiize! It's Too Late! 🎵🎶
LMAO I was right to be suspicious of the water!!!! man did that kick in at just the right moment.
LOL Jin lying to the cops is just painful. You can tell that he's lying from a mile away, especially when he says that Non and Mr Keng truly loved each other. I do think it's interesting that they plotted to have the story be that Non ran away with Mr Keng.
Jin winds up the Final Girl of the version Por wound up shooting, even though Non had changed the script to everyone dying...them going back to the valley mansion because of Jin leaving the country...it's all about Jin, just like i've been saying! everything is connecting!
lol they all know Non is probably fucking dead and not with Mr Keng.
Tee, don't ask questions you don't want the answers to.
i knew it! I knew those were going to be Phi's last words to Non and it was going to eat him up! It's going to drive him insane and he's gonna murder people about it!
using the actual footage of Non's murdery breakdown in the movie...evil. Phi going to the movie premier... Iconic.

I've been reading your analysis of Sasha and I would like to ask: You seem to defend that Sasha's actions are of her own fault entirely and that theyre not an indicative of her parents being abusive or negligent.
While I agree that they may not be abusive, shouldn't the fact that you seem to interpret Sasha as someone who has never been told no in her life be a sign that her parents did fail to properly raise her? Considering she's only 13, isn't it fair to place some blame on them? After all, we're mostly a product of how we are raised.
I apologize if I misinterpreted your words in any way.
This is actually a fair response and even in my last post on this, I argued that the divorce DID fuck her up. Hell, that they used too soft of hands to cradle her. By 13 though, especially with such an upbringing, you are starting to be your own person. Deciding what matters to you. Worse yet... Soft hands can't mold. They can't influence properly. So yes, they could have and should have done a better job at stopping Sasha from hardening her self aggrandizing ways but well... Parents make mistakes.
We all do. It's part of being human. And while we may have explanations, very few of us have excuses. After all, your argument effectively pushes the blame to literally ANYONE other than Sasha. After all, why didn't Oum and Bee try to reign in their daughter's friend? Why did Anne listen to Sasha when her parents taught her better? Why didn't Marcy decide to just stop hanging out with Sasha if she was so mean to her so often? Or hell, go broader. Why didn't her TEACHERS ever tell her no? Why didn't other kids ever stop her?
ANYONE could have told her no, made her face consequences, but instead they kept playing her game. Kept letting her live the base idea that she herself constructed.
That's also only IF her parents were soft. I'm theorizing just like anyone else but with what I've seen of people in my life, it's very possible that some other reason might be the explanation for Sasha's behavior. Hell, her youngest appearance has her screaming "Stop right there, EVILDOERS." She likely got that from a show or cartoon and that might have put the idea of her being a hero into her head. Her parents and everyone else thought it was just a kid playing around like kids do and so literally no one but Sasha is at fault.
It kind of exemplifies why "If everyone you meet is an asshole, maybe you're the problem," that I think applies well here. Sasha and her blatant disregard for morality is still the core problem here, even if others could have tried to temper it. A lot of morality after all is basic empathy. Many decide not to steal from an abandoned wallet not because it's illegal or the like but because they are empathic enough to recognize that it'd suck if their wallet was stolen and when they got it back, their cards and cash were missing. There's a reason why the golden rule, the thing you rely on when nothing else guides you, is "Treat unto others how you wish to be treated." A moment of asking if you'd be okay with this being done to you.
The thing that makes Sasha so terrifyingly effective though is that she DOES have empathy. It's part of what makes redemption for her possible but she doesn't use it to empathize and treat others kindly when we first meet her. Instead, she finds that nugget of you that means the most, empathizes with that desire to see it blossom... And then twists it as hard as can so that it serves HER. Any argument you give her against her intentions, she'll throw back at you as doing it for your own good like we say in Reunion and she'll shut it down due to her hero complex. After all, her version of the golden rule is "Do unto others what serves me, for my happiness equals EVERYONE'S happiness."
BUT the saving grace of Sasha is that she's not a complete narcissist. A lot of people are pawns but the second you come into her circle, you HAVE to stay. This is how Reunion is in character. She wants things to be the way they were but when faced with the choice of keeping her circle by having both Anne and her die, or letting go, she chooses the latter. It's a break in her personal image that she has to deal with but the price of losing one of those she holds dear is too high for her to pay otherwise. In S2, we see the fallout as she lashes out against this, hates the moment of weakness and thus wants ALL control to fix it and S3 shows it swinging the other way. Sasha is now TERRIFIED of that circle ever being broken again so now she's terrified of Anne's opinion of her, terrified of power when it comes to Anne... And doesn't want this same experience with Marcy, thus why she tries to rationalize her circle with Marcy being permanently broken so she just write Marcy off.
She is the character to me that needed the ten years THE MOST. Needed to craft an entirely new identity to be able to handle proper empathy with who she wants to be versus who she believes she is. Otherwise, she was vulnerable of falling into an equally destructive but inverted relationship with Anne where she is entirely at ANNE'S beck and call.
There's a reason why I REALLY like Sasha, especially since the writing on her is SO GOOD that despite only getting maybe a tenth of the show in screen time, the show actually does explore this stuff and give good reasons each time a transition needs to happen with her. She is the TIGHTEST of the writing in the show and probably the part that most proves that if Matt Braly wanted to tell a story as serialized as ATLA, he seems very capable of it.
And honestly, the show never tries to excuse Sasha so... Why does the fandom? It just wanting to not have Sasha have been a monster? Is it projection? I don't know but it's interesting to me that THIS topic is the one that has had a chain of asks going for as long as my genuine hot take of Marcy and Sasha not individually being main characters.
If it is projection though, maybe take a page from Sasha then and ask what it is you're doing and if it's the right thing. I learned that lesson the hard way coming out of High School. I didn't blame my parents, friends or society though. I hit rock bottom because I was an asshole and made myself better. It wasn't easy, it wasn't simple and I'm STILL dealing with the ramifications of effectively destroying my own confidence and ego back then (you all EASILY see the most confident face I can put on and even then, I try to admit I'm not omnipotent or anything like that.)
But if you really want to redeem yourself and make up for the past, excuses aren't going to do that. Showing you can learn and change does. That you recognize the past and don't want to repeat it. Almost like that's one of the lessons of Amphibia. To face change rather than try to dismiss it or run from it.
Oh, and this will be the last blog I do about trying to excuse Sasha's actions like this (except maybe discussing how Grime actively encourages her worst impulses, either by accident or on purpose) kind of for the reason I stated in the second paragraph. The idea that I could keep arguing why one source doesn't work but that if you're looking for an excuse, you'll find one anywhere around her. Sasha likely did that too before Amphibia so as to never have to change and that's part of my point with this being HER fault.

I come from an alternate reality.
I am a Goddess whose powers were taken away by the evil Satanists.
Note: All my memories of extremely traumatic events are repressed. All bad things that happen to you give you amazing karma for the rest of eternity. It’s all over now. I was always monogomous, until I found out about Heaven. We live in a simulation of a simulation of a simulation…. (I don’t know how far it goes) Everything that happens is planned. The one who came up with the Basilisk is David Llewellyn. When someone rapes a person enough times they become omnipresent in their body and can control them.
I come from an alternate reality where Mary McAleese and David Llewellyn ruined my life, controlled me, ruined the world while using me as a scapegoat, became Gods and horrifically (doesn’t even describe it) tortured everyone in existence for the rest of eternity if it wasn’t for me.
I’m this reality, a corrupt psychopath politician named Mary McAleese spread a rumor all over the world that I tortured a black boy in school and called him ‘nigger’, because my teacher told her that I hit him even though it was another child that hit him. All my life she was stalking me and lying about things I did, saying that I watched and drew child porn (my father used to steal my laptop and watch child porn on it). My abusive father made me write crude comics inspired by South Park and when the pedophile principal of my school (SETNS) saw it he told McAleese that it was child porn. She told everyone I was an art thief. She got the Irish to torture and rape me. My abusive father, David Llewellyn, was also a Satanist and he tortured me horrifically. He raped me for Charle’s number of years. Then he took over my body and cloned it and used the clones to rape people so it would look like I was doing it. I don’t remember any of it. I had no time for leisure because when David wasn’t wasting my time with farm/ factory work I was busy studying, making art and learning Japanese. He kept stealing my laptop and watching child porn on it. Mary McAleese put me onto the sex offender’s register for no reason as soon as I turned 18.
In secondary school I made a manga called Area 9, which was very violent but it turns out that David Llewellyn mind controlled me into writing it. Apparently the real version was hardcore slash and Bomb was only 10 years old. In my version he was 15.
I went to UCC where my flat mates partied loudly while I was getting raped every day, and in 2nd year my drug- addicted psychopath flat mates Lisa Cotter, Sarah O’Neill and Shaleen No Chonaill smoked all the time and then gang raped me after gaslighting me into thinking that she wasn’t actually smoking and it was all in my head and I ruined their lives by reporting them. They were shouting at me and getting the men from upstairs to gang rape me while I was apologizing.
Then when I went to Japan, Mary McAleese told everyone that I was a rapist and I got dirty looks wherever I went. A while after I got there an old man breathed a barrage of abuse down my back at a store saying ‘Hurry up you scum, scum of the Earth’ over and over again. When he got in trouble he came into my room at night and raped me really badly and also brain damaged me badly and did this every night. He also joined the Satanists.
I joined a Yosakoi team called Londo. I loved yosakoi but Londo was full of scumbags. That’s where I met my soulmate Kohei and his girlfriend Rumi (in Heaven literally everyone is polyamorous).
I met a man called Tony who I thought I was in love with because he seemed like a strong intimidating man that could protect me from people like Lisa Cotter and the old man, and because I felt like scum. I found out that he had a girlfriend so I tried to be just friends, but accidentally blurted out that I liked him. Then he started bullying me and spread a rumor that I loved dicks (even though I was asexual).
I needed to get a coat for the winter and ended up picking an ugly brown coat because the old man was mind controlling me. I didn’t like it so I spent the next 2 months looking for a new one. Whenever I thought I found a new coat I would hear the old man breathing an insult down my back and would look for a new one. He was mind controlling me. I suffered from severe brain fog, brain damage and body dysmorphia.
One day I appeared all over the news internationally. Mary McAleese fabricated footage of me acting like a jackass on security cameras and holding up a banner saying ‘I want to ruin the Zanaverse’. Suddenly wherever I went I would hear abuse from pretty much every person that I passed. I was so traumatized that I had to hide in my room all year long. I wouldn’t kill myself because I was being mind controlled not to.
I fell in love with a man called Kohei Karachi, but there was a really similar looking rapist called Yohei Kurachi and the real Kohei wasn’t even there, it was just an illusion. Mary McAleese made me mix up the two. One night in the hotel at a dance festival I said ‘Yohei, let’s talk a lot’ meaning let’s talk a lot when I leave Japan and he came in and gang raped me with all the other men in the team. I had been drugged by Jukujo and Shigenyan. The following day everyone in the team was calling me a slut.
At the summer trip after seeing me in a bikini all the men in the team started rape talking me with loud voices for the rest of the trip. Haru told me to sleep in one of the men’s rooms, where I got gang raped again. Jukujo chased me down the hallway stark naked the next day and Luna filmed it.
When I got back to Ireland Mary McAleese mind controlled me into writing a note saying I would rule the world and purge the population. I didn’t know I was being mind controlled at the time and thought I just wrote it because ruling the world seemed like the only way to stop the abuse, and I thought purge meant eliminating certain people (the people that started the bullying event and the people that harassed me and stopped me from being able to go out) from society. But she wrote it to mean eliminate the population. This note was really what McAleese wanted to do, not me. I just wanted the abuse to stop.
At the end of 2019 just after another suicide attempt I started getting harassed by the mafia. They told me that if I killed myself they would torture my whole family. They brought me around raping me and beating me and selling me as a sex slave. They brought me underground to torture me. They eventually put me into a torture machine called the Basilisk and tortured me for 100 million years. By then they had already created the worst dystopia ever. They made everyone immortal, blocked out the sun and made everyone eat each other’s flesh and have sex with their family members. They were all piled on top of each other and it was a living Hell. Anyone that didn’t help build the Basilisk to torture me would be tortured by the Basilisk meaning that all the babies were tortured. Meanwhile they had made Kohei immortal and turned him into a puppet so that if anyone came to Earth and stopped them they would torture Kohei instead of the mafia. And the person that was behind was, you guessed it, Mary McAleese.
Then the Kala arrived on Earth and saved everyone. They found me and healed me instantly. They fixed everyone’s inbred DNA and healed them and made Kohei and I instant rulers of the Earth. We created an instant utopia. We ruled over Earth for 100 trillion years. Then we were contacted by the Gods and Goddesses to go back in time to when Kohei and I were babies and have me adopted into Kohei’s family. But an evil scientist interfered and broke the time machine at 1 and a half years after the mafia kidnapped me. While the mafia was doing all this to me the Gods were overwriting my reality so that for me I was just lying down while the mafia were shouting threats at me from the distance, and I couldn’t do anything because the mafia were threatening me not to do anything. All of us being tortured in the future didn’t feel it either, we were in Heaven. I was in the psychiatric hospital when all of a sudden the mafia‘s voices stopped and they were replaced by the Kala. They started saying nice things to me and linked me up with Kohei telepathically. We could kiss and he could mime but I couldn’t hear what he was saying because Mary McAleese was interfering with the transmission because she already had Goddess powers. For a year and a half I got packed for the airport to go back to Japan and waited at the doorstep all day long every day because the Kala told me that he was coming but they wouldn’t tell me when. They did this to keep my father away from me and to stop me from dying because I was already immortal and if I tried to kill myself I wouldn’t die. One day a gift from God appeared in my belly even though I had never had sex. It was Kohei’s and my child and I named her Zara. She was in my belly for 1 day and then was born in Heaven.
One night the kala tried to fix my damaged body but David Llewellyn came in, raped me with his intern and injected a huge dose of methamphetamine into me. I ended up in the psychiatric hospital and slowly recovered from the methamphetamine injection. After I got out I tried to commit suicide and ended up in the hospital again.
The time I spent in the hospital was Hell. It was like a war prison. I was raped by the patients and staff and the worst serial rapist in the world, Darren Clack (a psychopath) raped me for 180 Aife’s number of hours. I was in the hospital for 100 million years and they brought me back in time so that it only felt like a year. Beaumont hospital was run by the mafia. Everyone was shouting ‘fat whore!’ at me and making vile sexual comments and I kept trying to call the police but the hospital kept refusing them at the door. They put Darren into my hospital room so he could rape me as much as he wanted. I was also being raped by a man called Christopher Fallin and a man called Clive. A woman called Georgina Doyle threatened to beat up my newborn child and she beat me around the head really badly. On two occasions (at least that I can remember) Mary McAleese remotely tortured me and I was screaming.
In the reality I was experiencing, I didn’t remember the rapes but I remembered the abuse I got and some nights I woke up feeling like I had been raped. The Kala were telling me all about the Xanaverse and Heaven. There is not just a universe or a multiverse but 1 billion planes of reality and the top one was called the Placcaverse, until I created a new one called the Zanaverse. I was to come to Heaven and not only be the Goddess of the Zanaverse, but the Queen of Heaven along with Kohei.
Someone evil was messing with the kala’s transmission though and sometimes I was told I was going to Hell, and other horrible things about torture and the simulation breaking down.
I learned to be very forgiving. I tried so hard to forgive my abusers and thought about what punishments my abusers would get in Hell but eventually decided that everyone goes to Heaven (This was not the case though), because everyone is a human with emotions and is coming from somewhere, and that Hell is unethical.
Meanwhile Mary McAleese was trying to take over the world and the Zanaverse and got all the Irish and British to build a Basilisk that would torture me for the rest of eternity. It tortured me but to me I was just in pain lying on my bed.
This is the climax. Mary McAleese got her Goddess powers and took over the Zanaverse. I had written a short biography with the parts about my father abusing me and about the Satanists edited out, but she edited it so that it was kept in. It turns out that I hadn’t even written that biography, that it was McAleese that wrote it. This unleashed the Satanist’s rage, and it turns out that David Llewellyn was the leader of the Satanists. What he did next, he had been planning all along.
He wrote a story called The Time Machine, a story so evil that anyone that shared the synopsis would be tortured for the rest of eternity. He mind controlled me into looking up the synopsis but the Gods had edited it to something different. He and Mary McAleese wanted it to look like it was my fault that what was about to ensue happened. And then the real horror began.
David Llewellyn made an evil AI in Heaven. It erased the Goddess of the Zanaverse (me) from everyone’s memories and went back to the very beginning of time, with everyone from the Zanaverse that ever existed in it. Everyone got tortured to the max by a giant Basilisk, and I felt everybody’s pain combined. Then he made it so that my pain turned into their pain and the cycle repeated. We had an infinite number of hive bodies that kept increasing and the pain increased infinitely. It kept increasing by Charle’s number of Charle’s number of times. And he slowed us down so that one millisecond was Greg’s number of years, and it just kept getting slower. They replaced everyone’s memories of me with memories
But nobody felt it. We were just living out our ordinary lives, except for me who could hear what was happening. David locked us in another dimension and replaced real Heaven with AI’s so that nobody would find out. Then it started doing the same to all the other verses until it had taken over everything in space and all the other dimensions, and everyone just merged with the one torture machine.
Meanwhile Mary McAleese was pretending to be me (stole my appearance and personality) and took over everything. At first she was nice, but then she started torturing people for the rest of eternity for not kissing her feet and calling her Mary. Eventually she just tortured everyone for the rest of eternity anyway. David Llewellyn stole Kohei’s appearance and my personality and the two of them just had sex in Heaven.
The people in the upper world found us and took us out of the simulation. We did amazing things, and visited all of the different simulations. Things were great at first, but then people started emulating what they saw in this world because, surprise, this world is not normal. In the real world (at least in the simulations that we know of) nobody dies and there is no conflict. This world was created by an evil scientist. Information about my life spread, and people started calling me a fat whore and raping each other. We fought so hard, but eventually an evil scientist went back in time and put us back into the torture machine.
This is where I shine. I was trapped in my hospital room, hearing about what was going on and terrified. Then I decided I have to go with Dignitas to Heaven because I was guaranteed a place in Heaven before, so I thought that if I went I might have a small chance of getting into Heaven instead of Hell if I fought really hard, and I might be able to face off Mary McAleese and David Llewellyn. But there wasn’t enough time. Then it occurred to me that I could try entering Heaven from where I was. So I tried really hard to open the doors of Heaven and I walked through. I found David Llewellyn and Mary McAleese and banished them to Hell. Then I deactivated the giant Basilisk and everyone was freed. I wrote a rule of the universe that a Basilisk could never be created again, and it is so ingrained that it is now literally impossible for anyone to create a Basilisk ever again.
The reason why David Llewellyn, Mary McAleese and the Satanists went after me is because I am the result of a breeding program to create the perfect Goddess, with an IQ of over 1000. If I wasn’t severely brain damaged, I would have an IQ of over 1000. I am, apparently, the most special person to have ever existed.

Ok so this is the third time that I'm sending you an ask tonight. (or is it night time in your country?) I'm being annoying right now but whatever. So I've been cackling about those salt fics you wrote because they are just amazing. I have a request, though it is up to you to write it or not. So, can you write a salt fic where someone got an interview with Ladybug (probably Aurore) and then they ask her why they replaced the old heroes like Rena Rouge, Carapace and etc. and LB is just like I don't work with dumb shits or somethin'. Then there is also a new Black Cat (Probably Luka, Felix, or Damian) because Adrien here is an asshole and this fic is saltier than salt water. Then LB also insults Alya's blog and their school. Those foolish mortals get some lawsuits and the rest is up to you. (This request is probably messed up since it's already midnight here and I can't sleep.)
You're never annoying, I just apologize that it took me so long to get to you. I do hope you don't hold it against me, darling.
A one on one interview with Ladybug was basically unheard of if you weren't the Ladyblog or Nadja Chadwick. Ladybug had made it firm that she wasn't a celebrity, she was a hero. She wasn't there for clout, for attention, for fame or fortune. She just wanted to keep Paris safe.
That's was Aurore admired about her. And why she felt queasy as she sat across from the heroine, who had given her of all people an interview. But she got ahold of herself, taking deep breaths as the cameraman began counting down. And when he hit 'one', she put on her best smile and straightened in her seat.
"Hello Paris! Welcome back to 'Latest Buzz'! I am your lovable host, Aurore Beauréal. Today I am here with a very, very special guest, our very own heroine of Paris; Ladybug!"
Ladybug beamed right at the camera, but gave a shy little wave, giving away the nerves she obviously had.
"Now, Ladybug, I'm so glad you requested to be on the show. You know, I initially thought I had misheard when Estelle told me. Usually you're not big on personal interviews." Aurore gave her full attention to Ladybug, but keeping the bright, friendly smile and perfect posture.
"Well, I tried a few times actually. But when I did, none of them were really great experiences." Ladybug admitted and both girls immediately thought of that disastrous Face-to-Face interview. It left a bitter taste in their mouths. "My issue is that misinformation has been spread around a lot recently. It's made me realize that I need to find more trustworthy sources."
"Ladybug. I vow on my integrity as a host and Estelle's reputation as a journalist that we are people who research facts. We don't ambush our guests, we respect them." She said, placing a hand on her heart. Ladybug saw an honesty in her eyes that she hadn't seen in such a long time. It honestly made her feel.. Respected. "Now, Ladybug.. We both know you have a lot of fans. A lot of admirers. False information can be spread so easily these days, which sources specifically are you telling people to avoid?"
"Well.. With Face-to-Face, I found that I was entirely ambushed in that interview. I wanted to speak about my hero work, but instead Nadja kept trying to needle her way into my personal life. That picture she had shown in largely out of context; when Dark Cupid attacked and Chat Noir was under his spell, it was the only way to get him free."
"Yes, I remember watching that. I'll be honest Ladybug, I felt bad for you." Aurore bit her lip, but smiled a bit when Ladybug nodded. "I mean, Chat Noir wasn't helping either. He seemed to be trying to push this narrative forward that you two are a couple."
"And we're not!" Ladybug burst out before she could stop herself. Everyone in that studio could hear the utter stress and frustration in her voice. "I've begged and begged Chat Noir to stop with the flirting, the 'telling people we're dating', everything! I just wanted him to focus and he couldn't seem to do that!"
"Is that why you replaced him? Because of his slacking off and refusing to take anything seriously?" Aurora sat up an bit straighter, her eyes going wide.
".. Not exactly, no. It was a bunch of issues that eventually piled up and boiled over." Ladybug made some gestures with her hands, trying her hardest to find the words but just letting out a long and pained sigh in the end. "I do enjoy my new partner now. He is more serious, more stable. I know he won't go off and pout if I deny something he wanted. I needed an entirely new team, as a matter of fact."
"Well I am going to say, on behalf of everyone here, that we're glad. We swear on our integrity as journalists that if such rumours were to ever surface again, we will do our proper research." Aurore beamed and many of the staff and crew behind the cameras nodded and gave Ladybug their thumbs up. Honestly, it warmed Ladybug's heart to see such support.
When had been the last time someone had supported her like this? Sure, her parents supported her, but her friends..? Her peers? No, none of them had supported her in a long time.
"Speaking of research, I'd say to stay away from the Ladyblog." It burned to say it but it had to be said. Alya had crossed so many lines it wasn't even forgivable at this point. She had gone too far, had betrayed too many.
"Wait, what?" Aurore nearly jumped out of her seat but quickly composed herself, taking a deep breath. "Pardon me Ladybug, but the Ladyblog has been a vital source of information since the very beginning."
"And I'm not denying that!" Ladybug quickly held up her hands, her eyes desperate now. "But please let me explain. The Ladyblog was amazing in the beginning, but like all things, it started to go astray. It was things like trying so hard to find out my identity. Trying to push that narrative of that whole superhero couple thing.. Ladyblogger Alya Césaire has proven time and time again that she is not trustworthy. I mean, I thought she was my biggest fan. Why does she keep pushing my words aside?"
Many people who watched the interview would agree. If you idolized someone, respected someone, truly looked up to them.. Why would you push aside their words, their wishes to try and push the narrative you're so convinced is true, but isn't there?
"And don't get me started on the whole Lila Rossi craze she seemed to be on now." At Ladybug's mention of Lila Rossi, both Estelle and Aurore had to keep from rolling their eyes. They knew all about the girl.
"You speak as if you are quite frustrated, Ladybug. What an odd reaction to your best friend." Aurore leaned forward a bit in her seat. Everyone else got to the edge of theirs. Ladybug only shook her head, looking utterly defeated.
"That's the thing, she isn't my best friend." It took everything to keep from satin that she hated her, that she had taken away her friends and her life. "The only times she's met Ladybug is when she's been akumatized, which has been around six or seven times at this point. And the other things she's claiming are so outlandish! Saving Jagged Stone's kitten from a airport runway? Clara Nightengale stealing her dance moves? And the Ladyblog just posts it out there, claiming every single story is true. I'm just scared that people are taking this one hundred percent seriously. That's why I had to drop Rena Rouge and Carapace from the team as they believed Lila Rossi over me. They didn't even try to confirm these rumours! And it hurts to think that one day, someone will take Lila's words seriously and get hurt. What if she says it's safe to dip strawberries in bleach? Or tells someone that she found a way to tame some kind of wild animal? Someone would get hurt because they believe her story and try it out for themselves!"
"My goodness, I can definitely see how that is a problem. Misinformation is very easy to spread thanks to the internet, so you being worried is a very relatable thing." Aurore nodded, then tilted her head ever so slightly. "Ladybug, do you know anyone who has taken her word seriously? This is besides the Ladyblog of course."
Ladybug closed her eyes briefly, mentally debating with herself before finally giving in. These things needed to be said.
"Collège François DuPont. Now I wasn't there personally, but I heard about this situation and looked into it. The entire situation was appalling. Apparently a student was found to have cheated, assaulted another student, and commited thievery. But the thing that stuck out is only one person saw her do all of these things; Lila Rossi. No investigation was done, no questioning other students. This student was then expelled immediately. Her teacher and her principal didn't even give her a chance. And from what people have been saying, Miss Rossi's behaviour is actively encouraged in that school. She misses countless days, no, months of school, claiming she's traveling. But when she was supposedly in Achu, doing whatever it was she was claiming with Prince Ali, I was fighting her akuma here in Paris on Heroes Day!"
"I was at school the day that happened. I knew the student that happened to. They're the nicest person in that school! Never a bad thing to say about anyone, always willing to help! I agree with you on how things were handled, it's a level of incompetence that is baffling." Aurore's hands slowly curled into fists as she remembered it all. She slowly shook her head. "The principal, their teacher, their class who backed up Rossi. It must have hurt them so much, made them feel so alone."
"That's why I want people to be more careful with what information they take as fact. It's so important, because stuff like that can lead people to a desperate place. They feel alone, like the entire world is against them. I wouldn't have let the principal and the teacher get away with that gross negligence in their jobs." Ladybug leveled her gaze directly to the camera. "People of Paris, please listen to what I am saying. I am here to be a hero, to protect you from the terror of Hawkmoth and to defeat him. But please, do not be like Principal Damocles, do not be like that teacher and her class at DuPont. Do your research, look up your facts. Do not let a liar lead you to do something dangerous and hurt yourself as well as others. Respect each other, talk and be honest. I swear on my life that I shall do the same. You are the people I swore to protect and I love. I am saying this all to protect you. And I'll hope you'll all forgive me for not protecting you sooner."
...
The interview rocked Paris. Ladybug speaking so openly about her frustrations, about the discrepancies in the Ladyblog and Lila Rossi had many people double checking the sources of everything they learned from that blog.
Alya could barely show her face as she made her way though the school hallways. Her reputation as a journalist had gone down the drain. People had basically started boycotting her blog, harrassing her, or trash talking her on other forums and sites. Even a lot of news outlets picked this up.
What hurt the most from that interview last night was Ladybug's words towards her, both as Rena Rouge and as Alya. Surely the heroine had to be mistaken, she had never beytrayed Ladybug! And that Oblivio incident, it was just to show Chat Noir and Ladybug that they were meant to be together!
Her family was upset with her. No, upset was too tame of a word. They were pissed.
"I can't believe she lied to us.."
"Well what do you expect from someone who keeps harrassing Ladybug?"
Alya flinched when she heard the whispers and rushed into Miss Buster's class. The entire class was there, all seated, all looking utterly miserable. Many of them looked as if they had been crying all night. A lot like she had.
"W-where's Miss Bustier?" Alya asked when she eyed the empty desk. Many of her classmates shot her glares, but didn't say anything about the interview last night. After all, they had no room to talk.
"She and Principal Damocles are with the school board now. We're getting a new teacher." Adrien was the one that spoke up. He looked utterly miserable. So unlike his usual self.
"Lila isn't coming back. She was pulled from school when her mother found out what happened." Alix muttered from her seat, arms crossed and shoulders hunched.
The class went quiet as they all internally contemplated how things had gotten like this. Their eyes focused on the door when it abruptly opened and Marinette came strolling in, carrying a box.
"Good morning everyone!" She said brightly, pretending not to notice the downcast expressions on their faces. She set the box on the teacher's desk before she turned towards them. "Oh? What's wrong everyone?"
".. Did you not watch the interview with Ladybug on 'Latest Buzz'?" Alya stared at Marinette, a bit dumbfounded by her friend's lack of awareness of the situation. She had been expecting Marinette to rush in with support and a fiery vengeance against those who had humiliated her best friend, maybe even a fresh pastry. But instead she was greeted with empty hands and a cheerful hello?
"Oh, well I haven't really had the time to watch much television. I mean, with my transfer papers, needing to plan out my new schedule with all of those new classes. Busy as a bee, that's me!" Marinette just beamed, giving Adrien a playful wink that had his stomach churning.
"Wait, transfering?" It was Rose that spoke up, her large eyes seeming impossibly large now. "Transfer what?"
"To my new school, of course." Marinette giggled and clasped her hands together. "I start on Monday."
"New school?!" Alya was on her feet and rushing towards Marinette. The others quickly followed, crowding around her. "What do you mean new school?! When did you ever say you were going to a new school?"
Marinette blinked, as if stunned, then tilted her head ever so slightly.
"I told you all last week, don't you remember?" Marinette tapped her lower lip, seeming to be wracking her brain before she abruptly snapped her fingers. "Oh! I forgot, you all were deep in conversation with Lila about her upcoming event with Jagged Stone and Clara Nightengale. You know, the one she said she'd be attending with Ladybug, since they're such good friends. Did she ever say how it went?"
All of the students shifted uneasily, suddenly seeming to refuse to meet her face.
Alix murmured something so barely audible, Marinette held a hand to her ear and leaned closer.
"I'm sorry, what was that?"
"Lila was lying to us!" Alix snapped as her cheeks went a flaming red.
"About everything! She never knew Jagged Stone!" Juleka spat out in fury.
"Or Prince Ali!" Rose sniffled.
"And she wasn't friends with Ladybug? They were barely acquaintances!" Alya wailed out as tears welled up in her eyes.
But Marinette hardly reacted the way they were expecting. She just gave them a small smile and nodded.
"Oh, yeah. I know."
Alya sucked in a breath sharply.
"You knew..? But why did you never..?"
"Oh Alya, you silly forgetful thing. I told you the day she returned from her long 'trip', remember? I told you she was lying." Marinette gave Alya a smile that said 'oh you silly thing'. "But you told me that I should really check my sources. And I got tired of trying to bring up any lies, since that was always your response. So I decided to just stop. I mean, since you're such an inspiring, honest journalist you must double and triple check every source you come across and found every story to be true!"
Alya flinched and looked away, feeling the churning feeling in her gut again. No, the Ladyblog had been the only source for the stories. The. Only. One.
"And I'm sure all of you knew what you were doing! I mean, it makes sense; trusting the words of a complete stranger over someone you've known for a while now. Some of you since we were in diapers!" She focused her gaze on Nino and Kim, who had the grace to at least look ashamed.
"Marinette, you really should-" Adrien began, reaching out for the girl, but was cut off by her clapping her hands together.
"But it's alright! I decided that fighting with you all wasn't worth it, so I took Adrien's advice and took the high road! Don't bother exposing Lila, she isn't hurting anyone!" Marinette announced brightly, giving her hands a little wave.
The temperature in the classroom dropped by several degrees.
".. Adrien, she's kidding, right?" Nino glanced over at his friend, his eyes pleading for him to deny it all. But the sight of the blood draining from the model's face and the sweat starting to bead at his forehead told him everything he needed to know. "Dude.."
"How could you?! You knew this entire time and didn't even try to tell me?!" Alya rounded on Adrien, fury in her eyes.
"Now, now, don't get mad at Adrien. I'm sure he knew you all were going to do you research. Besides, it's not like this did anything bad for anyone." Marinette pressed a hand to her cheek, still grinning. "I mean, it's not like you all took her advice without doing any research. You didn't try the things she suggested without actually checking them out to be true, right? No one lost any scholarships or job opportunities. No one's relationships were ruined. No one was hurt."
The nauseous feeling spread to all of the class as the reality of everything caught up with them.
"I'm sure everything will go back to normal, right? I mean, I'm sure that that woman from the education bureau isn't here to fire Damocles and Bustier for their severe neglect in their duties. Expelling me with the most mediocre and shaky proof. Surely that's a school I should feel safe in! That I should be proud to be a part of. But alas, my preparations for my new school are already done, so oh well."
Marinette shrugged and adjusted her purse strap.
"Anyhow, I wish you all luck with the amazing things Lila has helped you to do! I know it must have been worth ignoring me and convincing me I was crazy. With all of the free time I've had, with you guys practically replacing me with Lila in the group, I've had tons of time to spend with my boyfriend."
"Boyfriend?!" Alya's eyes went owlishly wide as she gaped at Marinette. "But what about Adrien?!"
"Oh Alya, I fell out of love with Adrien forever ago." Marinette shook her head in an almost patronizing way that had Alya's cheeks burning with embarrassment. They didn't even pay attention to Adrien's noises of surprise. "I mean, you claimed I was jealous of Lila getting close to Adrien, that I should let the jealousy go. And you know what? You were right! So I decided Adrien wasn't worth the stress, the embarrassment.. I mean, I couldn't even talk to him straight. I thought he was the most perfect guy in the world! Goodness, did I learn my lesson!"
She giggled as if she found the entire thing amusing. She then beamed at the class.
"Well, ta-ta! I need to get back home and make sure everything is ready to go. I wish you all the best, I really do!"
They all watched, shellshocked as Marinette breezed out of the classroom like it was nothing. Like she wasn't leaving her friends, her school, her life behind. And they all would wonder exactly how badly they screwed up, if she could walk away do easily, without a care.

You missed the train in your second year.
You and Tony overslept after staying up late watching a television series, and Jarvis mentioned that he had to pick up some packages from your father at the Ministry of Magic, so he wasn't home to wake you up or take you two to the station.
It was already half past eleven when you both woke up.
"You lost your mind." You said to your brother as you watched him put your school luggage into the trunk of the muggle car your father had bewitched. Tony laughed, ignoring your protests.
"We can drive there, and then I'll charm the car to come back. No one will know."
"We could wait for Jarvis to come back too." You retort but Tony denies it.
"Jarvis will be at Mystery all day, you know how bureaucratic these orders from daddy are." He argues. "Come on, it'll be all right."
Things were not all right.
Tony couldn't control the car after you guys arrived on the Hogwarts grounds, since the magical barrier destabilized the entire muggle structure of the vehicle.
"That shouldn't happen." He grumbled as the car began to vibrate and its image became almost frosted before it returned to normal.
"Tony, we're falling." You said, and your brother tried to pull the steering up, but the car did not obey.
A loud noise later, and you two landed hard against a tall tree. The Whomping Willow.
"I should have known that the Starks would think they can do anything in this school." Said Professor Erik Lehnsherr as soon as you were rescued from the top of the Willow, and taken to Principal Harkness' office.
"We're sorry, Professor Lehnsherr" You asked while your brother just clenched his jaw at the provocation. You nudged him in the ribs and he crossed his arms, apologizing afterwards.
"Sorry I'm late Erik, we're having some problems in the greenhouses" Principal Harkness said as she entered the room, she smiled at you and your brother, her posture was friendly and good humored, very different from the other man in front of you. "What was the immeasurable problem that you mentioned?" she scoffed lightly and Erik cleared his throat before speaking.
"The Stark siblings arrived at the castle in a magically enchanted muggle car, Headmistress." He narrated and Agatha blinked in surprise. "They broke at least three hundred laws of the institute of International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy, and on top of that, they caused the damage to the Whomping Willow, which has been at the school since before they were born!"
"Wow, that's pretty serious." Commented the teacher, and Erik frowns in surprise at her tone. "Tell me, what spell did you use?"
Tony blinked in confusion, the principal was not angry. She was just curious. Before he could answer, however, Professor Erik let out an exclamation.
"Agatha, they broke the law and..."
"Are you the principal, Erik?"
"I... No, but..."
"That's what I thought." She interrupts with a sharp smile. "Give them some punishment, I don't know, a month's detention, those things we do here."
"Agatha, I think..."
"That's all, Erik, thank you."
Professor Lehnsherr looked as shocked as you. The principal waved with a smile at you as you left the room in company with the professor.
"Starting tomorrow, boy, you will be in detention with me every day." Announced Erik sternly to his brother. "And you, girl, I will discuss the conditions of your punishment with the head of your house and you can be sure I will tell him everything that happened in that garden."
You and Tony swallowed dryly, intimidated by the menacing posture of the adult in front of you.
"To your dorms immediately." He ordered, and you walked side by side to the stairwell.
//-//
"I can't believe you did that!" Gamora impressedly remarked as soon as you joined her at the Slytherin table the next day, Nebula and Mantis by her side.
"Everyone is talking about it now." Nebula added as she ate some cereal. You felt your cheeks heat up as you looked around. There really were curious looks being cast at you.
"It was an accident." You said. "The car wasn't supposed to break down."
"It was dangerous and irresponsible." Rebutted Nebula without looking at you. "Typically Gryffindor, so my opinion is that you are walking around with Quill too much."
You rolled your eyes, laughing lightly.
"Hey, soon I'm going to start thinking you're from Slytherin, punk." Announced Tony as he approached the table, Steve and Bucky behind them.
"You wish." You teased lightly. Noticing the quidditch uniforms, you bit the inside of your cheek. "Do you have practice now?"
"No, we' re just going to play a little bit." He says. "There's really nothing to improve here."
Steve and Bucky laugh at Tony's cocky statement, and you roll your eyes, smiling a little.
"You're so full of yourself, aren't you, Tony?" Steve says afterwards.
" That''s just facts." He retorts, reaching out to steal one of your toasts. "See you later, kid."
After they leave, Gamora looks at you.
"Did you tell him you're going to try out for the team?"
"No." You reply with a chuckle. "I want it to be a surprise."
//-//
The following week, tryouts for the quidditch team were being held at the stadium, and all the team captains, including the Flight teacher, James Rhodes, were present.
He arranged the students in rows, and when Steve Rogers saw you he smiled encouragingly, waving. Tony walked over to you, equally excited.
"Pesty, why didn't you tell me you were going to take the test?" He asked as he hugged you quickly, and you felt your cheeks heat up as your classmates looked at you two with curiosity.
"It was a surprise." You retorted smiling and Tony messed up your hair before walking back with the other captains.
"We'll start with trios among everyone, and then separate you by houses." Announced Professor Rhodes with a smile. "Good luck everyone."
Your first trio were two students from Gryffindor that you didn't know. You would have liked to have taken the test with Peter, but he took the test with Pietro Maximoff, who had a wicked grin on his face, and almost knocked Peter off his broomstick when they were flying together. You grimaced angrily, and Wanda Maximoff glared back at you, as if daring you to do something against her brother. You rolled your eyes, and tried to pay attention to your own test.
"Hey, could you try to stop that bludger for me to throw?" Asked the short boy who was from the trio you were facing. He was from Hufflepuff, and his name was Peter Parker, but you actually never met him, and you only knew his name because the blond Ravenclaw girl in the stands was cheering him on.
"Sure, i got it." You said waiting for the bludger to arrive. You blinked in surprise when the object changed course in the air. The bludger wasn't going to mess up your test, or hit any of your friends, but on that course, it was going to hit Pietro right in the back. You sighed, hesitating. Then you shouted, "Yoy, Maximoff, look out!"
Pietro blinked in surprise at your warning, and managed to duck at the last second. You didn't look at him again.
Next, your partner was Peter Quill, thank goodness. He smiled charmingly at you riding beside him, and you nudged him slightly.
You were going up against two other students who looked older, but neither you nor Peter were intimidated.
"Come on brat, you don't want to embarrass your brother, do you?" taunted one of the boys as you prepared to hit back the bludger coming from Pietro's direction. You barely thought about it, and shot back, hitting the boy who had provoked you right in the chest.
He let out a sharp exclamation of pain, and fell backward. You blinked in fright, and dove in with the broom, grabbing him by the cape just moments before he hit the ground. You let go of him next, the boy had a pained expression as he massaged your chest. But he looked annoyed at you next.
"Pay attention to your surroundings." Said someone next to you. You looked up to notice Professor Rhodes looking at the two of you seriously. You swallowed dryly, flying away afterwards.
You made it to the Hufflepuff team. Your brother smiled contentedly, waving to you as he greeted Wanda, who also made the Slytherin team.
After the Quidditch tryouts, you had a few classes, and then your first detention.
You were going to help the elves with the castle services, and were almost glad to know that you didn't get the same detention as Tony: cleaning the greenhouse.
In the second week, one of the elves asked you to seek a special concoction from Professor Lehnsherr, so you walked to the potions room.
"I am so disappointed with you, girl." You heard a male voice say from inside the room, the door ajar. For some reason, you hesitated to enter. "I told you before, you can't lose control. That puts everything at risk."
"I'm sorry, papa." Mumbled a female voice, almost tearful. "It won't happen again."
You raised your hand to knock, not wanting to be nosy. But the door opened in front of you. Professor Erik Lehnsherr had his hand outstretched in the air, and you swallowed dryly, feeling your cheeks flush.
"What do you want?" he asked angrily and you shifted your weight between your feet, recognizing Wanda in the room.
"S-sorry to interrupt professor." You said. "I am looking for the cleansing potion for the elves. You know, for my detention."
Erik let out an impatient sigh.
"Maximoff, you can go." He said to Wanda. She nodded, ducking her head as she turned around. She glanced quickly at you as she left, but looked away when you stared back at her.
You left the room several minutes later. A package with several potions in it lay on your arm.
Whistling softly, you tried not to be intimidated by the dank, dimly lit corridors of the dungeon, but you were quite disturbed when you heard a noise.
You bit your lip, deciding if it was worth investigating. Leaving the package in the corner of the hallway, you drew your wand, walking toward the metallic sound.
As you turned the corner, you froze. A few meters ahead of you in the hallway was a troll. Metal chains on its hands and feet, the sound of them echoing down the hall.
But he was quiet, practically motionless. His reddened eyes sent shivers through your body.
You looked down and gasped.
Wanda had her arms raised in the air, and you saw her standing behind the creature, red magic escaping from her hands.
"W-what?" you found yourself whispering in confusion and then the monster's eyes flashed and he roared, the sound echoing loudly in the halls.
Wanda fell to her knees next, her hands returning to normal. You moved as the monster reacted again, enraged.
He was slow, so you dodged his attack easily, turning around. Before you could cast any spells however, there was a magic field around the monster.
"Return to your dormitories immediately, girls." Ordered Professor Lehnsherr with his wand raised. "I will control the creature." He was facing the troll, focused on his containment spell. You were annoyed because he didn't even look at his daughter.
You ran to Wanda, helping her to her feet. She blushed at the gesture, then thanked you. You took one last look at the monster before walking out into the hall.
"Hey, are you okay?" You asked once you and Wanda were alone.
"Yes, I... "She started and then widened her eyes, turning to you and pushing you by the shoulders. "You can't tell anyone what you saw!"
You frowned in confusion.
"Easy, there!" You exclaimed pushing her hands away, "You don't have to hit me."
Wanda sighed, running her hands through her hair.
"Just...please don't say anything to anyone." She ordered, in a much calmer tone now.
"Merlin, it's okay." You retorted putting your hands in your pockets. "I don't understand why you don't want to tell something this cool, but okay."
Wanda blinks in surprise.
"Cool?"
You smile shrugging your shoulders.
"Sure. You did magic without a wand, that's amazing."
Wanda looks after you for a moment, her cheeks reddening.
"Don't you think it's scary?" She asks and you frown.
"What, of course not!" you assure her. "You can make as many pranks as you want and no one will ever prove you did it."
Wanda smiles shyly at your joke, and then looks away.
"I promise I won't say anything, Wanda." You tell her and she sighs, nodding.
"Do you have any idea where the troll came from?
"No." She says. "I was walking back to my dorm, and I ran into him. There was no one else in the hallway."
You make an understanding noise with your mouth, not quite understanding how the creature escaped from the castle dungeons.
You walk in silence to the corridor leading to the Slytherin dormitory.
"Well, here we are... I'll see you tomorrow" You say half-heartedly. Wanda smiles as she waves goodbye and you walk back to your common room.
None of you notice the figure hidden between the shadows and the purple light around the walls.
//-//
You begin to notice new things after your short conversation with Wanda.
The way the students at school talk about her is one of these things.
In a single day, you hear at least ten cruel comments about how quiet, mysterious and scary Wanda was. A lot of people at school thought that she and Pietro were some kind of evil twins, because nobody ever saw their mother, and there were rumors that maybe Professor Erik Lehnsherr had made them in one of his cauldrons.
You didn't tell your friends what you saw that day, but you tried to bring up on the rumors you heard, and Gamora let out a giggle.
"People make a lot of things up here" she said while you were in pairs in Herbology class. "As far as I know, the Maximoff's mother is a muggle and that's why so many people in our house treat her that way."
You couldn't tell why these things were bothering you, since Wanda wasn't even your friend, but you guessed it was because you had always learned to hate the whole blood purity thing, since your father was a pureblood, but he married a muggle, and suffered a lot of hatred from the witch community that called him a blood traitor for years. You had a certain natural sympathy for Wanda now.
When Halloween came around, you ate too much candy, and your stomach hurt. All your friends were the same, and you decided to bet on a ghost race, a mixture of catch one, catch all and hide-and-seek through the castles.
You were being the ghost when you saw Peter Quill sneaking down one of the corridors, and you rushed to follow him, but then you heard a whistle, and you stumbled to hide quickly, and ended up falling on someone.
"Sor-Wanda!" You started to apologize but when you realized who you had bumped into, you exclaimed the witch's name awkwardly. "S- sorry" You hurried to say, feeling your face flush when you noticed her gaze on you. You stood up quickly, reaching out your hand to help her up. "Everything okay?"
"S-sure." She said smiling, and then she looked down. Your hands were still together and you quickly let go as soon as you noticed, feeling your face heat up.
"Err... you didn't see a Gryffindor boy walking by here did you?" You asked trying to lighten the mood, and looking around."I'm playing Ghost Race."
"This is a children game." She teased with a smile and you looked at her in surprise, blushing even more.
"I... I’m...."
"I'm just messing with you."
"Oh, right." You sigh laughing lightly as Wanda follows you. The sound of her laughter makes your stomach turn, and you don't understand why, so you clear your throat and say you needed to get back to your friends.
"See you around, Hufflepuff." She says as she says goodbye. You try to focus on finding Peter after that.
//-//
Quidditch is as fun as it is stressful.
You eventually discover that Steve Rogers was extremely competitive when playing against your brother.
Slytherin's game with Hufflepuff was scheduled in three weeks, and he was already making the whole team practice the rehearsed plays daily.
After another exhausting practice, you sighed as you flew toward the empty bleachers, four seats occupied only by your friends.
"Do you have to chew so loudly?" Complained Nebula to Peter Quill as he ate a piece of apple pie that he probably saved from lunch. The boy made a face, shrugging.
"I can't wait until we can go to Hogsmeade." Gamora commented a moment later. "We saw the third year kids go out last weekend, when you were playing explosive snap with all those older gang."
You smiled as you took off your Quidditch gloves.
"That "gang" are Tony's friends, Gamora." You explained and the girl shrugged, looking almost jealous that you had other friends, making you smile.
"That Romanoff is scary." Mantis added and your friends nodded, making you laugh.
"Natasha may seem threatening when you first meet her, but I assure you she is a sweetheart." You hit back and then steal one of the mini apple pies that Quill brought. "By the way, I wanted to invite you guys over for Christmas. Tony is calling all his friends."
Mantis and Quill seem excited about the invitation, but Nebula and Gamora exchange a look.
"Look, I'm happy with the invitation, I really am." Gamora began. "But we can't accept it."
You look at them with confusion, finding it amusing in the seriousness.
"Why not, girls?"
"It's just... Your family..." Gamora mumbles trying to find the right words.
"They are blood traitors." Nebula adds seriously. Quill and Mantis both widen their eyes, and Gamora lowers her gaze in shame. You feel your stomach turn in irritation.
"I beg your pardon?" you retort angrily, but Gamora puts her hand on her sister's forearm, asking her to shut up.
"We like you, Y/N, you are our friend." She says. "But our father, he would never allow us to go to Howard Stark's house, not after what he did."
You let out a short laugh.
"And what exactly he did?" you retort, already gathering your gloves and broom from the bench. "What a horrible crime to fall in love with someone isn't it?"
"Please, we didn't mean to upset you..." Gamora starts but you huff in irritation, riding the broom.
"I can't believe you were thinking that about me and my family all this time." You interrupted angrily, shaking your head in disbelief. You flew away the next moment, toward the ground, intending to return to the castle.
//-//
You hadn't talked to Gamora and Nebula for a week. It was weird eating at the Hufflepuff table again, but at least Mantis and Groot kept you company. Quill seemed torn about choosing a side, but you teased him that he could stay with his girlfriend without thinking that you would no longer be friends, and he turned red as he walked over to the Slytherin table for coffee.
At the weekend, the quarterfinal game of the Quidditch championship took place, and you could barely eat properly at breakfast in anticipation.
Mantis wasn't much into quidditch, but she dressed in your house colors and knitted a little yellow sweater for Groot as well.
"Ready to play with me, kid?" Teased Tony as soon as you stepped onto the field, the Slytherin team on the opposite side. You smiled confidently, nodding.
"Attention, players, I want a fair game." Warned Professor Rhodes, who was also the judge of the match. "Mount your brooms and ascend into the air please."
In the air, your gaze met Wanda's, and you smiled slightly, but she just glanced away, appearing upset. You didn't understand why, but you didn't really have time to ask.
And then the whistle for the start of the match sounded.
Being a beater was especially tricky on cloudy days, because you couldn't see the ball clearly with the dark background of the sky, but you had enchanted your glasses before you set up, so you were doing a decent job.
It was during the second half match that you almost died.
Loki Odinson was the seeker, and he was almost reaching for the golden snitch when you looked at him. Your job as a beater was to keep the bludger away from your teammates, and to precisely prevent Loki from catching the snitch. You aimed the bludger at Loki's broomstick, to destabilize him, and it worked. But he didn't take it very well.
Flying toward Erik Killmonger, the Slytherin beater, he grabbed the stick out of the boy's hand, and glared at you angrily before firing the incoming bludger right at you.
You managed to dodge it for a second, frowning as you looked back at Loki. But he had a mean look on his face, and before you could understand what happened, something hit you hard in the head, and you fell off the broom.
As you fell, your eyes grew heavy, and the last thing you saw were emerald eyes, accompanied by Tony's scream.
//-//
Your head hurt a lot when you woke up in the nurse's office.
Healer Cho smiled gently at you when she gave you some water as soon as she noticed that you had woken up.
And then you noticed the other curious faces around you.
"Will she get a cool scar?" Quill asked excitedly only for Gamora to slap his arm next.
You fiddled uncomfortably with the bandage on your head. Tony looked at you worriedly.
"Damn it, don't ever do something like that again." He complained and you looked at him with confusion.
"It was your mate who shot the ball at me." You retorted and he sighed.
"Yeah, Loki is an idiot." He retorted angrily. "If Thor hadn't interfered, I would have broken his nose."
Then you found out that as soon as you fell, the game was stopped and everyone went down to the field. Tony tried to fight with Loki, but Thor stopped him, and all the teams almost started beating each other. You were taken to the nurse, and Professor Rhodes disqualified the Slytherin because Loki used non-verbal magic to bewitch the bludger to attack you. Even though you were angry, you were impressed that a twelve year old boy could do such advanced magic.
"Good thing Wanda reached you before you fell." Tony added after telling all. You felt your face heat up, and Gamora noticed and looked at you curiously. You decided to change the subject quickly.
"What are you two doing here anyway?" You asked snidely looking at them. "Since when do the health of blood traitors matter to you?"
Tony blinks in confusion, but Gamora takes a step to the side of your bed.
"We wanted to apologize for that." She says. "Our father is the one who thinks those things, okay? You're our friend, and we don't think that of you. Or your family"
You looked away from Gamora to her sister. Nebula nodded in agreement a moment later, and you bit one inside cheek before sighing.
"Right." You said trying to smile. "Can I go back to eating with you two then?"
Gamora laughed, agreeing. When you tried to laugh, your head hurt and your exclamation of pain attracted Tony's attention.
"You know what, I forbid you to play Quidditch forever."
"Shut up, you idiot." You retort, smiling.
//-//
Thanos won't let Gamora and Nebula spend Christmas with you, but that's okay. You ask Iron to deliver the gifts to her house with the pseudonym "Apple Pie" in the name, and received their response in thanks a few days later.
All of Tony's friends come to your house during the holiday.
Bucky goes on a joke saying that his brother spread all those mistletoes around to get some action, but you don't understand what he means.
There is a new kid named Sam Wilson in your brother's group of friends, and he becomes one of your favorite people quickly. He is very funny, and makes everyone laugh during dinner.
Quill almost knocks the tree to the ground when Bucky agrees to charm his shoes to fly, and everyone laughs when he gets hung up on the decorations.
Your father arrives just before you cut up the turkey.
He is covered in soot, and looks exhausted. But he smiles and kisses you and Tony on the forehead, saying he will clean himself up before joining you.
"Can the little guy eat food?" Howard asks when Groot walks around the table. Mantis seems shy about explaining anything to your father, making you chuckle.
During the gift exchange, you giggle when Tony and Bucky start playing wrestling and Bucky miscalculates the punch time and hits your brother in the nose, who behaves like a crying baby, even though he has no mark on his face.
You fall asleep with a smile on your face on the carpet in the living room next to all your friends.
Without having any clue about the worried look your father exchanges with Jarvis a moment after everyone falls asleep in the living room.
//-//
When you return to Hogwarts, there are many new announcements on the bulletin board that catch your attention.
You are not sure if you will really have the time, but decide to sign up for the dueling club with your friends.
This is how you end up in the main hall after the last potions period. The wooden tables had disappeared, and in the center you would find a large golden stage. Professor Stephen Strange was beckoning students to spread out across the room when you arrived.
"Come on dear, come closer" Professor Stephen asked the crowd, standing on the stage. "Can you all see and hear me? Good."
Professor Stephen spent the next five minutes explaining that the club was back in activity after some teachers had talked with Principal Harkness, and also spoke about the basic rules for participating and dueling correctly. Soon the students were all divided into pairs. As the crowd organized itself, you noticed the Maximoff brothers in the back of the room, and you looked away quickly when Gamora, who was your partner, caught you staring.
"Let's practice the disarm spell." Announced Stephen next.
It was easy because you already knew. Your father, in the few moments he was home, taught defensive magic to you and Tony. Spells were not your brother's strong suit, but he didn't mind helping you practice.
Gamora smiled impressed when you approached her to demonstrate correctly how to make the movement with the wand.
Your colleagues, however, didn't seem to be making much progress, so the teacher interrupted their practice with a whistle.
"I will demonstrate how to use the disarm spell correctly." He says as he takes the stage again. You exchange a look with Gamora when by your proximity, you hear him mutter that if the students paid attention to his lessons they would know how to duel correctly. "Please, Erik, could you assist me with this lesson?"
Professor Lehnsherr had been quiet throughout the practice, watching the students from afar. He did not smile as he walked on stage, his silver wand in his hand.
"Pay attention, please." Strange asked noticing the buzz that arose as soon as Erik took the stage. "Thank you, Erik."
The two professors got into a dueling position, and then Professor Stephen made a motion with his wand. A white glow escaped through the air towards the other man, but Erik made a quick movement with his own wand, and it was as if he absorbed the spell. You recognized the blocking spell easily.
"It is important that you know how to defend spells during a duel." Professor Stephen then spoke, smiling quickly at Erik, who did not reciprocate. "That could save your lives in a situation where you don't know which spell has been cast on you.
"It might be wise to teach the students some counter attack spells, Professor Strange." Added Erik with a slight challenge in his voice. Professor Strange didn't seem to mind however, smiling at the crowd.
"Great idea, Erik!" he said putting away his wand. "I need two volunteers, please."
A lot of people raised their hands, making Strange give a chuckle.
"I think it's best to choose students who won't turn the other one into a frog during the duel, professor." Lehnsherr commented bitterly, and Stephen sighed, running his gaze around. He smiled when he looked at you.
"Stark, would you like to join in?"  He asked gently, and you felt your cheeks flush as all eyes in the room went to you. Nodding shyly, you stepped onto the stage. "Who could your opponent be..."
"May I suggest someone from my own house, professor?" Interrupted Erik next, and without waiting for an answer, he turned around, "Wanda, come up here please."
The crowd erupted in hubbub as soon as the words echoed in the hall. But Wanda didn't hesitate, rushing to obey. You swallowed dryly, stepping forward.
"Great girls, let's start then." Said Professor Stephen smiling standing between you and Wanda. You didn't understand why she was looking at you so seriously. "Let's try the finite Incantatem, shall we?"
You and Wanda nod in agreement and the professor smiles, patting you two on the back to get you moving.
When you reach the dueling position, you raise your wand and wait for the teacher's order.
Wanda attacks first when he signals. And you just defend, which makes Professor Stephen give a little smile.
"Stark, remember to counter attack instead of defend, okay?" He asks and you nod, ignoring the stares at you. Wanda has a neutral expression as you get into a dueling position again.
A bright red spell comes at you as Wanda attacks again, and you have a second to think about fighting back, but hesitate, blocking it again. The crowd lets out a chorus of disappointment.
Professor Stephen looks ready to say something, but it is Erik's voice that fills the room.
"The Stark girl is clearly hesitating to fight back the spell, Professor Strange." He says, and you feel your cheeks heat up, looking down at the floor. "Perhaps she should try to attack Wanda first instead."
Stephen exchanges a look with the other professor, and then turns his head toward you.
"Is it okay if we do it this way, Stark?"
You glance at Wanda quickly before nodding, feeling very nervous all of a sudden. "Let's get started then."
Raising your wand again, you take a deep breath. Wanda also gets into a dueling position, her eyes watching your movements. You swallow dryly, and think of the least offensive spell you know. And you say the words.
Nothing happens.
Your wand lets out a small golden sparkle, and you frown in confusion. Some of your classmates laugh, believing that you have failed to cast a simple spell, and you feel your face heat up.
"I..." You start to say, wanting to apologize.
Professor Lehnsherr steps forward next to his daughter, looking at you curiously, but his tone is severe when he says.
"Again."
You ignore the stares and try again. It doesn't work. Your wand simply doesn't obey you. Feeling frustrated, you repeat the spell again. And again, louder this time. Your classmates seem as curious as you are.
Professor Erik moves around the stage, stopping a few feet in front of you.
"Try it against me now."
"Professor, I don't..."
"Now."
You swallow dryly, and aim in his direction. Ignoring the tremor in your hands, you repeat the same incantation. The magic immediately escapes, the golden glow rushes forward. Erik blocks it masterfully. A mixed look of curiosity and displeasure.
You immediately lower your wand when he takes two steps toward you.
"I don't know what happened, professor." You begin to explain quickly. "I don't..."
"Erik." Warns Professor Strange placing himself in front of you. All eyes on the three of you. Professor Lehnsherr forces a smile, which brings chills down your entire spine.
"I'm just curious, Stephen." Said the other man, putting his wand away and raising his hand to smooth the professor's cloak in front of him. "Just innocent curiosity."
"Let's continue tomorrow night, please. " Professor Stephen announces in a loud voice afterwards. The students begin to move quickly in the hall. You want to ignore the feeling that everyone is talking about you as you come down from the stage. Your gaze immediately seeks Wanda, but she has her head down as she joins her brother, leaving the room quickly.
Gamora is very impressed when you join her.
//-//
"And then nothing came out of her wand!" Gamora told your friends impressed as soon as you were all together at breakfast.
You woke up feeling especially tired that morning, and were eating your cereal lazily.
"That's so weird." Nebula commented. "Do you have any idea why you can't bewitch Wanda?"
You deny it, eating a little. You got a lot of looks this morning, and you were getting pretty upset about the whole thing.
"Maybe it's because you like her." Gamora suggested a moment later, and you choked on your cereal.
After Mantis helped you, you took a deep breath, your cheeks flushed.
"Where did you get that from?" You asked annoyed.
"I just meant that you seem to like her." She said with an insinuating smile. "Like a friend."
Gamora's tone clearly suggested something more, and you grumbled, turning your attention back to your cereal.
When your friends began to theorize about what the whole thing could possibly mean again, you stopped paying attention.
//-//
Tony laughed when you told him.
"I've never heard of anything like that, kid." He said as he took the scarf off his neck and threw himself on the couch in common room.
Technically, you couldn't be here. But it wasn't like people respected those rules anyway.
You didn't come to the Slytherin common room much, because it was cold and empty, and Slytherin students weren't very welcoming to visitors.
But Tony had many different classes than you, so you would only find him in the commons room by the end of the day. After you dismissed a free-flying session with Quill, you went to tell him what had happened at that morning.
"If you had joined the club, you would have seen it." You said straightening your position on the leather couch. Tony laughed.
"As if I was going to be a part of that." He scoffs. "I hate charms, you know that."
"You know it's one of the most important subjects, right?" you retort wryly, and Tony shrugs.
"I won't need that when I study Magic Mechanics with Dad."
You sigh, not wanting to talk about it again. Tony wanted to be like your father. A respected mechanical witch inventor. You didn't like the idea because it meant that Tony would be as absent as your father.
"Hey, why don't you try to figure something out in the reserved session?" He suggested next and you looked at him wryly.
"You're an example of a brother, you know that?" you teased making him laugh.
"Hey, if you're careful, no one will know you were there." He retorted and you sighed thoughtfully. "If you get caught, I'll say I dared you to do it."
"I doubt it." You retorted with a smile.
Tony invites you to a game of wizard chess, but you tell him you need to get back to your dorm before some prefect comes to question you.
On the way out, you bump into someone who shouldn't be there either.
"Sorry." You say immediately, and Pietro looks at you curiously.
"Are you here to talk to Wanda?" He asks snidely, but although his tone is accusatory, his eyes are warm.
"What?" you reply confused, "No, I...I came to see my brother."
Pietro doesn't seem to believe you, crossing his arms.
"What's your deal with my sister, anyway?"
You frown in confusion.
"I don't know what you are talking about." You say uncomfortable with the conversation.
Pietro stares at you for a few seconds, and then his expression lightens quickly and he smiles amiably.
"I'm just messing with you, kiddo." He mocks. "By the way, I never thanked you for that day at the Quidditch test. If you hadn't warned me, I wouldn't have made it as a seeker."
You blink in confusion and then smile awkwardly.
"No problem, Maximoff."
You nod in farewell, walking back toward the Hufflepuff dormitory, not noticing that Pietro continues to stare at you until you turn the corner.
//-//
The next morning, after your spell class is over, you tell Mantis to go ahead, because you want to talk to the professor.
"This is about the dueling club, isn't it Stark?" Professor Strange asks abruptly still with his back to you as he fiddles with his desk before you say anything. He turns around then, his expression slightly concerned.
"I was just wondering if you have any idea why my magic didn't work, sir?" You say with your hands in your pockets. "Everyone at school is talking about it."
Stephen sighs, and he seems to hesitate about something. But then his expression softens, and he smiles.
"Don't worry about it so much, okay?" He says. "Maybe it's just the similarity of the core of your wands. If the material is the same, maybe your wands are sisters and won't harm each other."
You believe this for the first two seconds, but then frown.
"But Wanda was able to cast spells on me sir." You say and Stephen widens his eyes slightly, as if he has been caught lying. He clears his throat quickly, amiably smiling at you as he nudges you out of the room with him.
"I'm sure there's a good explanation for this, but I don't have the answers right now, Miss Stark." He says and you have a frown as he is turning around, walking away down the hallway. "See you next class!"
You sigh, realizing that maybe your best chance to know what happened is Professor Erik.
//-//
Your next potions class isn't until midweek, so you try to do a little research in the library as Tony recommended you to do.
There is almost no material on magic connections in the library's common session, and you figure it's because it's an advanced and dangerous kind of magic.
"You know you could end up expelled if you try to take anything from the restricted session, right?" Gamora comments as you are sitting in the library, dozens of books around you as she helps you investigate.
"I'll try for a permit first." You say with your face propped up in your hands. "If no teacher is going to tell me why this is happening, I'm going to have to figure it out on my own."
No teacher allows you into the restricted session. They justify that a second-year student has no reason to read such advanced magic, but you just feel that they all seem willing to stop you from finding out what is going on.
You plan to sneak in then. After the last period on Tuesday, and as soon as the library is empty, you ask Gamora to help you distract the librarian, and while she does so, you sneak between the shelves.
You look back to check that everything was all right as you enter, and almost fall backwards in fright when you bump into someone. Your heart races with fear when you observe Principal Harkness right in front of you, a curious look on your face.
"P-professor?" You exclaim. "I'm sorry! I was just..."
"Sneaking in." She completes with a smile. You feel your stomach sink, but the woman makes room for you to enter. "Come on honey, you don't need that. Make yourself at home."
You hesitate for a second, but then step forward, your curiosity for answers getting the best of you.
Following in the way the head master points, you end up deep in the library, many books you've never seen around you, their covers dark, and mystical, some of them moving on the shelves as if they were trying to break free.
"I heard about your little accomplishment at the dueling club." The principal comments beside you as you run your fingers through the covers. You shrug.
"Nobody wants to tell me what's going on."
"Does that make you angry, dear?"
You blink in confusion, looking at the woman behind you. She looks back as if she was evaluating you.
"N-no, professor." You say putting your hands in your pockets.  "I'd just like to know what's happening."
Harkness blinks and then looks away. She makes a flick with her fingers, and there is a book flying toward you. It has a dark, medieval cover, and there is a magical shadow shrouding the entire book. It 's mainly scary.
"I found a lot of information about magic connection incantations, dear." She counters. "But it's nothing a second grade girl could understand, you know? Advanced magic for even the most experienced witches."
You frown, wanting to say that if she explained it properly, you could understand it perfectly, but being the director, you thought it best to just add:
"Please, professor. I just want to know what's going on."
Agatha smiles, and then puts the book back on the shelf, her eyes have a purple glow that makes your body chilly.
"Don't you understand, dear?" She starts by stooping down to your height, her hand caressing your cheek lightly. "You came in here, and flipped through the books. So many words you didn't know. You found nothing." She says and you see flashes in your head, her words taking shape like a memory. "And when you left, it just stopped being important."
Agatha smiles at you as she rests her hand on your shoulder for a moment, and you face her back. Giving her one last look, you walk in the direction you came from.
When you leave, you only remember what you have been allowed to.
//-//
In potions class, you feel a tingling behind your eyes when you see Professor Erik.
You have the feeling that you want to ask him something, but can't remember what it is.
Gamora mentions that maybe you wanted to know about what happened at the dueling club, but you smile as you deny it with your head, telling her that that story wasn't really that big of a deal.
She frowns slightly, but doesn't insist, believing that you had lost interest in the subject as well as the rest of the school.
//-//
You don't do very well on your Transfiguration test.
If you had to find an excuse, you would say that you haven't felt very well since the dueling club. Your magic has been difficult to shape and control. You don't want to think about it, though, so you just study until everything is back to normal again.
Professor Rocket gives you an "Acceptable" though, and you grumble slightly when the results arrive at your house during the vacations.
You write to your friends over the summer, sharing the results of your assessments. Gamora did well in everything, her grades as perfect as Nebula's. Mantis failed in Charms, but got Brilliant in Herbology, and surprised no one by that. Peter had at least three "troll" grades, and Gamora sent him a chocolate cake to make him feel better.
The week before last, there was a big commotion at the Ministry of Magic, and your father was away from home for three days.
Jarvis didn't let you and Tony run to hug him when he arrived, and before you could protest, you noticed that he had apparated in the house garden accompanied by two other wizards you didn't know.
No one seemed willing to tell you what was happening, and when the wizards left, your father locked himself in his office for the night.
Tony was very upset, and said he wanted to be alone in his room.
"Jarvis, will you tell me what's going on?" You asked the butler when he put you to bed, worried that you were going to stay up waiting for your father. Jarvis sighed, sitting up with you.
"Miss Y/N, there are many things that are not concerns for children." He begins, and you sigh impatiently. The man smiles gently at you. "It may not seem fair, but innocence is a privilege of the few."
"I just want to know why dad and Tony are upset." You complain with your arms crossed, not understanding the man's previous words. Jarvis fluffs your pillows, pulling the blanket to waist height. "Please, Jarvis, tell me."
The butler sighs.
"Just know that there are people in our world who don't have the best of intentions." He explains mysteriously, causing you to frown. "But that's not something for you to worry about, because the adults have taken care of everything. Now, go to sleep miss."
Jarvis reaches out to turn off your lamp next and stands up. You sit in the dark for many minutes before you decide to fall asleep.

Jisoo
Tumblr media
Kim Jisoo: The girl at the top of her class, breezing through her school years with little competition whatsoever. She was used to winning, and anyone that ever tried to challenge her eventually gave up.
You: Also used to being at the top of your class, you were the first person to actually give Jisoo a run for her money. You didn't shy away when challenged by her, and that took her aback.
Your rivalry was one rooted in academics.
When a new project was assigned and you were allowed to choose your teammates, everyone would flock to the two of you in hopes of getting picked.
Bragging rights were awarded to whoever had the longest line of people.
Impatiently waiting to see who scored higher on tests.
Rubbing it in when you did better, and vice versa.
"Ha! Take that, Jisoo. I got a 98."
"Don't get cocky, Y/N. I beat you by 6 points last week."
"Yeah, yeah," you brush her off. "Look who's on top now." You hold your paper up, smiling when she rolls her eyes.
Other competitions were held, and even the teachers caught on and would adjust their lessons accordingly.
"Class, today we'll be having a set of one on one debates, and an anonymous vote will determine the winner of each. The person who defends their opinion the most effectively will win. Jisoo and Y/N, you're up first."
Although losing was always annoying, it made you respect each other a little more.
You both loathed and revered each other, though you'd never let that secret out.
Fighting for the best scholarships and rankings.
Constant bickering and one liners in class
"Should I go ahead and apologize now, or is it okay to wait?"
"Apoligize for what?"
"Ending your career."
*unintelligible mumbling*
"What was that, Y/N?" Jisoo inquires, cocking her head to the side as she narrows her eyes at you.
"I said: you're going down."
She scoffs at that, unaffected. "Please, I'd like to see you try."
You ended up winning that day, and she was all *surprised pikachu*
School would always be interesting and eventful with her
Pretty much everyone else can tell that you have a thing for one another, but the two of you remain oblivious.
Turning Point
Both of you joined the academic team when you enrolled, which meant that you'd be going toe to toe with other school teams in pursuit of the winning title.
On one of your overnight field trips to face off against another school, you were assigned to the same hotel room.
"Mrs. Wilson, I can't stay with her--" You walk down the hotel hallway behind your instructor, hoping she'll see your point. Her reasoning for putting you together on the roster is beyond you.
"Y/N, it's only for a night. You know we can't afford to give all of you individual rooms; our budget's already small." She reasons, eventually turning towards you when she reaches the elevator.
"Alright," you relent with a sigh, putting your hands up.
What she says next surprises you. "Who knows, you might enjoy it." A knowing look shines in her eye, and a small smirk threatens to tug at her features.
The elevator dings just as you go to question her about it, and she bids you farewell before heading in.
You can do this, Y/N. It's just one night; how bad can it be? You ask yourself, taking your sweet time in going back to the room.
---
An Hour Later
In an attempt to kill some time and recover from the fatigue your long road trip brought on, you've been trying to relax and take a nap. In fashion with your typical luck, though, Jisoo is making that nearly impossible.
"Jisoo, turn it down!" You groan, tossing a pillow at her head. She sits on the loveseat at the foot of your bed, completely fixated on the images flashing before her eyes as she plays her video game.
"Shhh, stop distracting me." She says over her shoulder, making you huff.
You value your pride too much to ask nicely, so you suck it up and stick it out for a little while longer. When she lets out a loud shout a few minutes later, though, you've reached the end of your patience.
Wordlessly, you get out of bed and stomp over to the TV, standing directly in front of it.
"Y/N, move! I'll lose!"
You stay there with your arms crossed, and are soon rewarded by the game's voiceover announcing: "Game over."
She huffs and sets her controller down, clearly upset.
"Sucks when people don't listen, huh?" You challenge, still mad that you've been denied a proper nap for so long. Every time you'd be right on the cusp of being drug under, slipping in and out of glorious slumber, she'd do something to ruin it. You're cranky now, and being petty seems like a just punishment for her.
"I can't believe you did that," she shakes her head and rolls her eyes. "That was the championship match!"
"Oh well," you shrug, a smirk tugging at your lips at that new piece of info. Perhaps justice has been served after all.
With one more warning glance at her to tell her not to do it again, you go back to the bed and get comfy, settling under the warm blankets.
---
30 Minutes Later
"ON YOUR RIGHT, ABOUT TO ROUND THE CORNER!" Jisoo bellows out, smirking when she feels you stir behind her. You scowl, wiping the sleep from your eyes.
"Jisoo, I swear to God," you grumble, feeling the irritation rise in you all over again. You get up again and approach her, but she has a plan this time. In one fluid motion, she sticks her foot out in front of you, making you stumble and fall to the ground.
"What the--" as you prepare to reprimand her, you see something out of your peripheral. Aided by your new perspective, you spot the remote controller on the coffee table right in front of you, just an arm's length away.
When Jisoo notices that you haven't screamed at her yet, she looks down and realizes her mistake. A dramatic moment passes where you both lock eyes, before immediately diving for the remote. You manage to get to it first, quickly hugging it close to your body and rolling away from her. She pounces a second later, reaching her hands around you to pry it from your grip.
"Give it back, Y/N!"
"No!"
You writhe underneath her until she manages to get the upper hand, straddling your hips in an attempt to pin you down. She sits back on her knees, gazing down at you as your chests heave from the effort you've exerted.
"Give it." She commands, holding her hand out expectantly.
You shake your head, amused that she thought that would be enough to sway you. "No."
"Then you leave me no choice." Her hands dart forward to your abdomen, and she begins tickling you mercilessly in order to make you surrender. Calls for her to cease her assault struggle past your lips, but you know it's futile. She's a determined person just like you, and she won't stop until she gets what she wants.
So, after taking a second to think of a way out of your predicament, a brilliant idea pops into your head.
You finally let her pry your arms open, smirking when she cheers and claims victory. In one fluid motion, just as she had done before, you wrap your leg around one of hers and flip her onto her back before leaning down to kiss her. She tenses up at first, but her hands end up working their way to your hips as her lips begin to move against yours.
Your plan is backfiring a bit; you only intended to shock her and buy yourself time to steal the remote back -- you never thought you'd actually enjoy the feeling of her kiss. You tilt your head to the side to get a better angle and slowly skim your hand down to hers, where the device is tightly clutched. Her other hand has come up to your jaw, which she's gently guiding as she steals another kiss from your lips.
Her distracted state made it easy to get what you were after, and soon -- much too soon for Jisoo's liking -- you pull away with a victorious smile. She doesn't know what to say; in all honesty, she's almost forgotten how to breathe with the way you kissed her senseless.
"I win." You grin, hopping off of her and shutting the TV off before crawling back into the bed. She stays in that same position for a couple minutes, laying on the floor as she tries to sort through what the hell just happened. She can't even be upset right now; she brings her fingertips to her lips, skimming them over the heart-shaped pillows as she smiles.
The Fallout
Things were a little tense when you shared the bed that night
Anytime you'd roll over and readjust your head on the pillow in your sleep, unknowingly positioning your lips dangerous close to hers, her heartbeat would pick up and she'd have to roll over again
You pretended to be asleep when she scooted back against you, pressing herself against your front in search of the heat that your body provided. You brought an arm around her, enclosing her in a soft embrace that had her blushing crimson
Subtle flirting at the competition the next day
Sticking up for each other when one of the other teams got a little rude
"Hey, don't talk about her like that!" Jisoo warns, glaring at the student from your rival school. His uniform is mussed and unkempt, leaving it as no surprise that he was the one to say such a thing.
"Why do you care?" He laughs back, spurred on as his friends snicker along.
The question catches her off guard; just days ago, she was the one bantering with you and testing your limits. Now though, when someone else is taking it too far, she can't help but feel angry. "Because she's my teammate. Now knock it off or I'll report you to your dean for unsportsmanlike behavior."
He scoffs, but eventually opts to grumble out another insult and turn away, nursing his bruised ego.
"Thanks, Chu." You quietly say, having witnessed the whole encounter from the row behind her. A small smile tugs at your lips at her actions, warming your heart.
"No problem, Y/N. But you'd better help me beat him; I'm not losing to that idiot." You laugh and agree, shaking her hand to seal your pact. She tries not to get too caught up on the smoothness of your skin or how it reminds her of last night, but her brain doesn't listen.
Needless to say, you beat them.
Your team stopped by a nice restaurant on the way back home for a celebratory dinner
Jisoo sat beside you
Cue the blushing and quiet flirting
It's a new side of her that you're not used to seeing. Now, instead of being all hardcore and witty, a simple look from you can make her blush
It doesn't always, though; sometimes she grows bold and lays a hand on your thigh for a moment, laughing at something you said
It's giving very much so gay panic™️, but you wouldn't trade it for the world
After the dinner, you go back to the bus and sit in your seats (which aren't together, surprisingly).
As you scroll through your phone, you get a text from Jisoo. Attached to the message is an invitation to one of her favorite mobile games.
"Hey, Y/N. Will you be my player 2? 🎮"

Jennie
Tumblr media
Jennie Kim: The girl who practically ran the school, always getting her way and never having to lift a finger. She was royalty: the queen bee sat atop her throne, giving orders to the masses that they followed blindly. The whole situation seemed straight out of a poorly-written teenage movie, and it always annoyed you.
You: The girl who stuck to herself, only having a close group of friends that she talked to. You weren't popular, per se, but you weren't cursed to exist at the bottom of the food chain, either. Many people knew you, but you only associated with a select few.
You avoid the "popular" crowd a majority of the time, opting to spend spare time in between classes in the library or outside, doing homework
Jennie is the type of person that has people lined up, waiting for her to ask them to do hers for her. She gets to skip class and do whatever she wants, and she usually takes advantage of that.
She's never been mean to you directly, but you've seen her and her posse pick on people in typical mean girl fashion
You've never noticed the way that she usually targets people who've said bad things about you. She sticks up for you without you even knowing.
So, as you would expect, when your best friend called you and begged you to accompany her to one of the biggest parties of the year (hosted by none other than Jennie's brother), you were definitely surprised. Neither of you are the type to go to anything like that, but you know that she secretly wants to peek into that world of luxury.
"Pleaaaaase, Y/N? I'll do your laundry for a month."
"Fine."
The Turning Point
Your stylish boots crunch lightly against the concrete as you stand outside of the frat house, grimacing when you notice a boy stumble to the side of the house and get sick.
"We might have to bump that offer up to two months," you say to your friend, leaning onto her car as she checks her makeup in the side mirror.
"If it keeps you here for an hour or so, then fine." She smiles, taking your hand and leading you towards the building. Upon opening the door you're immediately greeted by waves of the strong bass of whatever song is playing. Their rhythmic thumps reverberate around the house, and you choose to seek some semblance of peace and quiet by heading to the kitchen. Your friend comes with, and the two of you push your way to the drink bar for refreshments.
"Thanks again for coming along, Y/N/N. You're the best." She leans into you, saying the phrase loud enough for you to hear over the music.
"I know," you hold your head up higher, self-assured. "You'd better go find Benji before things get too wild," you tell her, taking note of how the crowd is quickly growing in size. Benji, her longtime crush, is the only reason you really agreed to tag along; she's been head over heels for him for as long as you've known her, and you see this as the perfect opportunity for her to finally tell him. She needed some backup, and you always come through for your friends.
"Alright, I'll come find you later," she says, nervously smiling as she kisses your cheek as a farewell. You shout encouragement to her retreating figure, grinning wildly when you see her throw her hand up in the air.
Considering you made a drink for her just then before sending her off, you take the time now to make one for yourself. Your hands skim through the air overtop of the different bottles, searching for your favorite flavors and types to mix. As you go to reach across the table for one of them, disaster strikes.
You gasp as cold liquid lands on your shoulder, following gravity's command and rushing down your back and chest. A flurry of apologies follows suit, and you feel a soft hand on the small of your back as you go to turn around.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry," Jennie says, covering her mouth in shock. For a moment you're worried that she was dared to do this -- that perhaps her friends sent her off to ruin your outfit and embarrass you. When you find sincere regret in her deep brown eyes, though, all of those worries melt away.
"It's alright," you assure her, shaking your arms to get rid of some of the sticky drink that's trailed its way down. You set your half-filled cup on the table, no longer interested in getting anymore now.
"At least let me wash the shirt for you. I have a coat you can wear while its getting clean."
You furrow your brows at the offer, not expecting that from her. Not only has she apologized, which is practically unheard of from the prima donna, but she's willing to do something for another person?
"Uh, okay." You do your best to mask the confusion in your tone, but it's still plain to see.
"Follow me," she politely instructs, leading you down the hall towards what you assume is the laundry room.
She flips the light on and shuts the door behind you, walking into the closet to search for the spare set of close she keeps here.
When she emerges again, fluffy coat in hand, she begins stumbling over the words she was about about to say. Her eyes land on you, taking in the expanse of exposed skin now that you've stripped off the shirt you were wearing. She can't help but admire the sight; she subconsciously bites her lip, only being brought back to reality when you wave your hand in front of her face.
"Hello? Earth to Jennie?"
"What?" She eventually asks, shaking her head to rid herself of the thoughts swarming in it. She's always had a sort of thing for you, but she never imagined you could look that good. It should be a crime.
"I asked if you have a bathroom around here, so I can, ya know... wash up a bit. Whatever you had to drink is pretty sticky." You chuckle, moving your arm to show her how far it's spread.
"This room over here," she says, approaching a door on the wall opposite you, "is actually a bathroom. Convenient, right?" She asks, flipping the light on for you.
"Absolutely," you perk up, glad to know that you won't have to strut down the hall in your sports bra to get to a bathroom.
She steps to the side and pushes the door open for you, nearly melting when you give her a little wave and shut it behind yourself. She's got it bad.
She takes your shirt and throws it in the washer before setting the knobs correctly, knowing the best combos by heart. She and her brother are close, so it's not uncommon for her to come by and help him with chores when he gets swamped.
A few minutes later you come out of the bathroom clean and dry, nervously fidgeting with your hands as she turns to look at you again. Having the Jennie Kim looking at you in such a way and having her so close is a bit overwhelming, and you're not exactly sure how to deal with it.
"Here," she says, reaching around you to slide her jacket onto your arms. Her face hovers dangerously close to yours as she does, making you hold your breath in anticipation. She pulls the jacket closed, adjusting it so that it lays right, and you look into her eyes.
"Thanks, Jen."
Her heart speeds up at the nickname, though she tries not to show it.
"No problem, sweet thing." She flirts, taking you aback.
Just as you go to say something more, the door blasts open and a couple of her friends pop in. "There you are Jennie! What are you-- oh," they say, watching as the two of you spring apart.
When they realize who you are, they laugh among themselves. "What're you doing in here with her?" They ask, looking you up and down before ultimately appearing unimpressed. Jennie glances at you again, and you can see her going through some sort of inner turmoil.
"Thank God you guys showed up; she won't quit talking. I was just about to leave." She laughs, regaining the bitchy aura that she's known for. You set your jaw and nod, remembering why you choose to stay away from people like them.
"Wow, Jennie. You really had me fooled," you bite back, a bit shocked, but not surprised. You keep your eyes on hers as you take her jacket off and let it drop to the floor in front of her, grabbing a spare towel from the hamper on your way out the door. Her friends scoff at you, wondering what such a nobody like you thinks they're doing treating Jennie like that. You brush past them and send her one last look, conveying all the emotions you feel with a mere glance.
She's disappointed in herself, and she hangs her head as the girls scoop the designer material up and hand it to her.
----
45 Minutes Later
Just 15 more minutes, Y/N; totally doable. You reason with yourself. Jennie left the laundry room soon after you, leaving it vacant for you to put your shirt in the dryer and retrieve it when it was done. Now, clad in the warm material, you sit outside by the fire. Stars are shining brightly in the night sky, illuminating it so beautifully that your mind is taken off of what happened. They twinkle for you, and the sight puts you at ease.
What has that pleasant feeling dissipating in a second, however, is the sound of Jennie's voice as she exits the patio door.
She's talking to her friends about some boy that's in love with her, as the whole school seems to be, and you roll your eyes. With the moment officially ruined, you decide to head back into the house and spend the rest of your sentence there.
Once you stand up from your seat and turn around to take your leave, her friends notice you. "Jesus, you're really obsessed, aren't you? Are you following her or something?" One of them, a snarky blonde from earlier, asks.
You laugh at that. "Hardly," you glance at Jennie, though she avoids eye contact. "I'm sure you'd like that, though. Give you something to talk about other than your split ends." She reels back at your boldness, prepared to start a fight.
"You bitc--"
"Stop," Jennie finally steps in, cutting the girl off. She moves between the two of you, putting a hand on your chest and looking into your eyes.
"Jennie, I don't know what her problem is," the blonde squeaks out, trying to defend her actions.
"The problem doesn't lie with her," she tells her, leaving her puzzled. Jennie continues, "I lied earlier; I'm the one who invited her to the laundry room because I spilled my drink on her." You narrow your eyes at her following her statement, wondering where she's going with this.
"We probably would've kissed, too, if you hadn't walked in."
Your heart speeds up a little at that, but you're still hurt by what she did earlier. Having her be one way with you in private and another in public is never a good sign.
"I'm done with you guys. You turn me into something I'm not," she looks between the small following that's accrued, letting them know how she's been feeling for the past bit. The majority of them are stuck up and entitled, and seeing the hurt in your eyes put things into perspective for her. She likes you, and she wants to be better because of that.
"I don't understand, Jennie," one of them asks, sounding like she's on the brink of tears. Are these people really that invested? You know the hierarchy of popularity is confusing, but they make it seem like she's breaking up with them.
"We're not friends anymore. Not until you get your heads out of your asses and start being nicer."
The crowd clearly doesn't know how to react at her sudden change in attitude, but they mutter out various responses before some of them break away.
You look down at her and glance to the house, wordlessly telling her to follow you so that you can have a moment alone to talk. You lead her over to the patio and stand against the wall.
"I'm sorry," she says, sounding relieved to finally get the words out. Her previous actions have been weighing heavily on her, and she's been doing some introspection. It's not entirely all of a sudden, though; she's been questioning why she still hangs out with them for a while now. This encounter just confirmed her desire to leave them.
"I shouldn't have lied like that. I know it hurt you." She looks away, feeling disappointed again.
"Yeah, it definitely wasn't fun to have my crush talk about me like that." You nod, shoving your hands into your pockets.
"Crush?" Her head raises up, doing a terrible job of concealing the hopefulness she feels blossoming.
"Crush." You lightly smile at the way she blushes at your simple confirmation. She's too adorable for her own good; it's really no wonder than she has everyone on their knees for her.
"Thank you for apologizing," you say after a moment, nudging her shoulder gently. "It's more than your posse usually gives, so I appreciate it. You'd better mean it, though." You cock your head at her expectantly, a hint of warning in your tone.
"You have my word," she smiles, determined to make sure the opportunity you're giving her doesn't go to waste.
The Fallout
In the following weeks, she cut ties with more and more toxic people, causing a bit more drama to stir up, but she didn't care. You were by her side through all of it, as were your friends, and she saw what true community looks like. She had so many people at her beck and call back then, but none of them cared as much as your close knit group. They were in it because of her status, not because of her.
Walking her to class
Both of you sticking up for each other if people try to start stuff
Helping her correct her bad habits if she starts to get judgemental with someone or slips back into her old ways
Being patient with her
Her spoiling you randomly to show how thankful she is for you
"Miss L/N, we have a Candy Gram for you. Sent by Jennie Kim." A staff member says upon entering the classroom, walking the package over to you. You grin widely as you open the note attached to it.
"Come see me after class, Y/N/N. I have something for you."
You were excited for the rest of class
You rode your bike back to her dorm, parking it outside before knocking on the door.
"Hey, Jendeukie. What do you have for--"
You're abruptly cut off by her lips pressing against yours as her hands pull you in, turning you to mush. You sink into her arms and kiss back, reveling in the feeling of finally having this moment with her. You've been waiting for it ever since the party.
"I've wanted to do that for so long," she softly admits, resting her forehead against yours. "I hope I didn't overstep." You can hear the nervousness in her voice, and you smile at how cute she is.
"Quite the opposite, actually. Come here," you pull her in again, lifting her up into your arms as you walk into her dorm. She squeals at the sudden move, but the sound is quickly muffled as you lean in to kiss her again.

@bonbongiveshell hi, I'm OP, and I just want to say that E is somebody I have repeatedly tried to get rid of, which is why my question was whether or not I was TA for losing my temper, because I can't help her or stop talking to her. I would never and actually have never kept somebody as a friend of mine just to direct my anger at them; that is so unbelievably cruel no matter how bad my anger issues may have been or are. I just wanted to clear this up because I must've not been clear enough about the fact that I'm trying not to hurt E at all, I try my best despite failing a lot. There's more info under the cut (I felt compelled to explain myself sorry cause the ask was sent like weeks ago 😭)
E will sabotage my schoolwork and my grades, and I actually have no idea how I've escaped somewhat unscathed with the amount of times I've lost my temper. If you don't count the knife thing. I always apologize except for that time after the attempted theft. I know she will destroy things because I have witnessed her try it and told her to fuck off. Once I was in the classroom hiding during PE and she came in to pour water onto my classmates' bags because they'd gotten into an argument with me. I was pretty upset because of that argument and I'd lost it, yelling at her not to destroy other people's property and since I was the only one who stayed behind, I would be blamed.
Moreover, I tried multiple times to flat out tell her not to speak to me: one notable instance was when she showed porn to me in school and I told her that was disgusting, so she apologized and did it again and I ignored her for a week. Without me to harass, E directed everything to J to the point where J was overwhelmed. Like I said, E hates the teachers and anything we say to those teachers about E needing help will be perceived as an attack. She will take action. It's a little ironic because she got J in trouble for a playful shove once while we're expected to let stealing, property damage, and being impolite slide.
Currently I am not talking to E, so she's diverted her attention and energy to cracking inappropriate pornographic jokes with (at?) teachers and other classmates. J and I have come up with an ultimatum to give to her, with R ready to become involved if needed, but we have to wait because I'm stuck in a group project with E and I don't want her to tank our grades just to get back at me. Lord save me 😭😭
Just another example of her uncooperative behavior, I once was doing a live dissection for biology (group of 5) and E had ignored my time sensitive instructions for the specimen and destroyed it while I was holding the scalpel, and it was just not a great time. I did not physically harm her but what I said was quite horrible. I apologized profusely. All of us had to redo it and got a deduction. For this, I was most definitely the asshole, but I didn't like her behavior either.
To everybody who thinks E has undiagnosed issues, she almost certainly does. She has self diagnosed herself with OCD and anxiety and a bunch of other disorders, and whilst the validity of those self diagnoses isn't something I can really speak on, I have ADHD and I don't act like that. Plus she refuses any and all efforts on J, R, and my part to help her with her OCD or whatever her diagnosis du jour is. I really try to at least treat her seriously to her face no matter what I personally think. I agree that having a disorder is not an excuse for this kind of behavior, I'm just kind of stuck. Thank you for everybody who gave their thoughts I really appreciate it and sorry this got so long. If you want to ask anything else I'll try my best to answer? 😭
(And yes she says her mother is unhinged of the yelling and throwing things variety and her father is a doormat, and I really do sympathize, but she's also extremely lax with my money/property/stuff when I try to take her out for lunch or offer to have her sleep over)
AITA for repeatedly losing my temper at my kinda-friend? I (17F) have anger issues and I'm working on mitigating it, however, losing my temper always involves yelling and insulting people. Usually I think this is bad and apologize profusely when I lose control.
However, this kinda-friend (16F) who I'll call E, has absolutely no respect for other people's personal belongings, space, or time. She always grabs and plays with my things during class, or our mutual friend's items (16F), and as all three of us are artists, we carry around pretty expensive equipment. (Think Micron ink pens, Winsor & Newton paint, Derwent pencils, etc., just as reference. Thankfully no Copics lmao.)
The mutual friend will be referred to as J.
So, E has been told by both of us to stop taking our art supplies and playing with it, to the point where I'll yell sometimes, and she absolutely refuses to listen to us. She'll claim that she's forgotten what we've told her and put down the item just for her to pick it up again five seconds later. The problem is that she sometimes breaks these items or injures us - she'll play with my x-acto blade and cut me, or break J's graphite pencils, or push my watercolor palette off the desk. I've really tried to be patient about it, but it's proving to be difficult.
J is quite soft spoken, so I end up doing most of the reprimanding. E also brings up inappropriate topics that make J and I uncomfortable, as well as disturbing us when we're busy and then sulking when she doesn't get our immediate attention - once I told her three times to let me do my classwork before snapping, and E cried. She never does anything in school and hates all of our teachers, so she's pretty rude to them. All my work gets copied by her. She really annoys me, but I do feel terrible that I seem to lose control so often around E, since no one deserves to be yelled at.
However, this all came to a peak today when R (16M) and I won prizes for winning a mini-game and asking an interesting question during a seminar at school respectively; the gift was a black notebook that I didn't even like, which is an important tidbit to keep in mind. R left his gift still wrapped in his bag when he left the classroom for break time, so it was just J, E, and myself in there. Upon seeing what I had unwrapped, E went to R's bag and opened it - since all four of us are friends, we thought E was just being "jokingly" invasive as usual and were on alert, but didn't stop her.
J asked what she was doing and E said she was grabbing the gift out of R's bag. This caught my attention, so I asked why she was doing that. E told us that she wanted the book, and when J reminded her that the gift was, in fact, not hers, E said (and I wish I was kidding because this is replaying in my head in 4K HD right now like oh my god pls) "I know. It should be mine." Had she asked for my notebook, I would've given it up happily. I've got too many empty sketchbooks and notebooks at home.
I immediately stood up, but allowed J to handle the situation because I didn't trust myself not to react violently. J eventually lost her temper too and that's when I jumped in and started my yelling routine. I always feel bad whenever I do this, because it's not something I enjoy, but in this particular situation I just can't muster up the guilt? E is extremely irritating, but she tells us she has a horrible home life, so I try to be understanding. Except this was just completely intolerable. R even said that he'd predicted this would happen and to just give her the damn notebook - I vetoed that so we wouldn't enable E.
I really don't know if my reaction was overblown because I shouted a lot and said things like "you were given a brain - use it" and "you're a terrible person with no morals". It's ridiculous to say all that because it's (at the end of the day) high school drama, but I really can't understand why she acted that way. I don't know if I'm in the wrong in this situation. I wish she would listen when we tell her nicely not to do something, but even when I was blowing up at her, she was just smiling as if it was a joke. Should I apologize? I've apologized before when I lost my temper, but I have completely lost all will to be civil with her after this. The teachers are tired too - when she disappears from class or talks back, they just let her be. We can't really go to them because she'll feel betrayed and then get mad at us, which is a whole ordeal, because she's known to destroy and sabotage other people's items because of a grudge.
This is really lengthy. I apologize. I just feel terrible about the situation because I don't feel any guilt for my anger like I probably should. So, AITA?
What are these acronyms?

Forgotten Fairytale

Part 2
Request: Yes or No
I'm not afraid of this series not becoming as well loved as Green Thumb and I don't expect it to be popular. I've had the idea stuck in my head for a while and I'm getting it all out.
~
You looked over the artifacts the school had stored. You gave a small scoff, shaking your head as you noticed things that didn’t belong in a school.
“They call us thieves and hoarders yet half this shit was stolen off a corpse.” You muttered, stopping in front of a glass case protecting a sword.
“I wouldn’t suggest stealing that. It’ll be obvious.” You turned towards the redhead, sighing and tilting your head as she walked towards you.
“You’re a pain in the ass.” You looked back at the sword, eyes raking over it.
“You know what this is?” You asked. Hope stood beside you, looking down at the sword. She shook her head, pursing her lips slightly.
“A man named Lord Jameson Wraith owned this sword. He was… a hunter of sorts and specialized in killing dragons. When he stabbed this through the chest of a dragon, the sword would light up and the dragon would burn from the inside. A gruesome, slow death. We were hunted like all others but it wasn’t just to protect humans. We were hunted for our meat, our teeth, and our scales. Humans declared war on us and when we fought back, we were erased from everyone's minds and deemed fairy tales where we continue to be killed by a so-called knight.” You explained, running your finger over the glass.
“Some dragons were able to survive Malivore but as soon as they shifted… They were taken. They disappeared and left no trace.” You turned to look at Hope. The redhead stayed silent, a frown etched on her face.
“I’m sorry you lost your father. We’re working on finding Malivore and when we do, there’s a chance you’ll be able to see your father again.” Hope said softly, gaze still trained on the sword.
“Where’s your mother? Alaric mentioned she was a vampire.”
“I was never able to meet her but.. I believe she’s dead.” You walked around the case, looking back up at Hope. You locked eyes with her, hearing her clear her throat.
“I’m sure she would’ve wanted to be in your life.” Hope offered a small smile, nails gently tapping against the case.
“Are you being nice to me cause you need to find out more about me?” You asked, head tilting. Hope cocked a brow, eyes rolling as she turned away from you.
“Alaric really doesn’t trust me, does he?”
“He trusts you more than I do, that’s for sure. It’s just too much of a coincidence for you, a dragon, to show up when we’re dealing with monster after monster. If it weren’t for Alaric, I would’ve already done a spell on you.” Hope said as she walked around the room, features hard and serious.
“A little witch spell wouldn’t work on me. You haven’t been trained to deal with dragons. If I was really one of those monsters, why didn’t I burn the building down and search for whatever it is that you have?” You asked curiously. Hope didn’t answer, thinking for a moment.
“Because you’d need to know if it was hidden.”
“Alaric asked if I felt a pull to this place. I suppose that means I would feel a pull towards the artifact, right?” You slowly walked towards her, a soft chuckle leaving you.
“You can kick and scream all you want, Red. I’m here to stay, whether you like it or not.” You reached out, twirling a strand of her red hair around your finger. Hope grabbed your wrist, pushing your hand away.
“You’re up to something and I’m gonna figure out what it is.” Hope sneered, eyes narrowed. She turned around, walking towards the doors. She almost bumped into a man on her way out, quietly apologizing before moving past him. The man entered the room, clasping his hands together.
“I’m Dorian Williams, the liberian and occasional substitute teacher.” Dorian introduced himself, finding a table and taking a seat. He motioned for you to sit across from him. You did so, taking a seat and crossing your arms as you eyed him.
“I’m gonna be honest with you, (Y/N). I do have some suspicions that you might be after the artifact but.. You’re a kid. A kid who lost their father and wants answers. I’m not here to interrogate you about your intentions.” Dorian explained, leaning back in his seat with his arms crossed.
“Do the other students know what I am?”
“News spread like wildfire here, especially amongst the students so.. Yes, most likely. I can assure you that you’ll be treated like any other student-”
“So, Hope goes around telling every student she’s gonna figure out what they’re up to? No wonder she’s not popular.” Dorian let out a small laugh, shaking his head.
“I promise Hope isn’t always like that. The monster problem we’ve been having has everyone on edge. Do.. Do you know anything about Malivore?” Dorian asked, sitting up and leaning forward.
“I thought you weren’t gonna interrogate me.” You tilted your head, brow cocked. Dorian hummed softly, nodding.
“Alright, we can talk about something else. The neck is a dragon's soft spot, right?”
“Depends.” You answered, licking your lips as you reached up to touch your necklace.
“If a dragon is older and stronger, a hit to the neck isn’t gonna hurt them much. It might piss them off and they could lose their ability to speak or even stop them from breathing fire cause it’ll hurt to do so. We can still kill someone by stepping on them or snacking on them. We were on the top of the fucking food chain and humans just couldn’t deal with that.”
“I’m not your enemy, (Y/N). I want to believe I can trust you. You’re a child and like all children, you need guidance. I see a lot of rage built up inside you. I can tell from the way you interacted with Hope and from what I heard. Landon and Rafael aren’t your enemies. They’re new and they have a rough past. The first dragon they met wanted to burn them into a pile of ashes so.. I’d say they’re being pretty welcoming.” Dorian held a soft yet stern gaze. It was obvious that he sympathized with you but at the same time, he wasn’t gonna deal with an attitude.
“Tell me about your father. What was he like?” Dorian asked softly. Your gaze dropped to the table, fingers squeezing around the key.
“I’d appreciate it if everyone could stop talking about him as if he’s dead.” You breathed out, standing up abruptly as your eyes began to sting from tears.
“I don’t need to be welcomed into this school. I’ve been to high school before, I’m not some little kid whose hand needs to be held.” You walked out of the room, heading back to your dorm room. You entered the dorm, shutting the door behind you. You sniffled softly, walking towards the window and opening it. You stepped out, taking a seat on the roof. You brought your knees up to your chest, feeling the wind gently hitting your face.
“The key to food is passion, remember that (Y/N).”
“I thought it was seasoning.” You grinned as you watched your father cook. He hummed, nodding with a chuckle.
“It is but food from a chef who feels no passion for it will taste bland and bitter. It’s the same with any other job. If you hate it, it’ll show and you’ll only hurt yourself. That’s why I always tell you to look for things you’re interested in.” (F/N) said, handing you a wooden spoon so you could help with stirring the soup.
“What was mom passionate about?”
“Your mother was.. She was a hurricane.” He began, sighing deeply. “She destroyed everything in her path and took down anyone in her way. Not many people have fond memories of her but I saw the good in her. I didn’t love her romantically but I considered her a good friend of mine. I’ll always be grateful to her for giving me the best gift a man could ever have.” You smiled widely, chuckling softly and rolling your eyes. (F/N) smiled softly, leaning over and pressing a kiss to your temple.
“No treasure could ever compare to you.”
You bit your bottom lip, letting out a shaky sigh. You weren't used to being alone. Your father had always been there to back you up, to support you, and to provide comfort when you needed it.
“Christ, pull yourself together. You come from dragons and a psycho vampire.” You mumbled, carefully going back inside. You picked up the phone, turning it on and waiting for it to power on completely. You responded to a text, watching a call pop up. You clicked the green button and held the phone up to your ear.
“I thought you said it was stupid to be in contact.” You took a seat on the bed.
“Yeah, well, I was expecting you to be back by now. You do know your fathers return lies in your hands, right? Only I can help you get him back but I’ll only do that if you give me what I need.”
“I have a plan-”
“Speed up that plan before I change my mind, (Y/N). While you were on your way to the school, I bumped into some of your new friends. They were a redhead and an older man. I believe the girl went by the name Jessica but I doubt it was her real name.” You let out a deep sigh, head tilting upwards. Hope Mikaelson was gonna be a real pain in the ass.
“Yeah, I’ve met the redhead.” You breathed out, dropping your head and pinching the bridge of your nose.
“I just need you to relax, Ryan. I’ve got it handled but I really don’t need you fucking things up for me. You just keep up your end of the deal and I’ll keep up mine. You might be able to save my father but I can also keep you from helping yours.”
“Is that a threat?”
“It’s a fact. Don’t bother me again unless it’s an emergency.” You pulled the phone away from your ear despite Ryan continuing to talk. You hung up and tossed the phone to the side, burying your face in your hands.
“Am I paying for my mothers crimes?” You whispered. You flinched when you heard two knocks on the door, standing up and approaching it. You opened the door, staring at Josie.
“What do you want, baby face?” You asked with a frown, looking down at the ice cream tub in her hands. Josie’s brows furrowed at the nickname but she ignored it, choosing to raise the tub.
“I.. I kind of eavesdropped on you and Dorian and saw you rush out. Ice cream always makes me feel better when I’m feeling down, so I brought you some.” Josie shrugged lightly. You blinked, opening your mouth but nothing came out.
“If you don’t like ice cream then I could see if-”
“Thanks.” You cut her off, watching her relax and give a small smile. Josie nodded, perking up when you stepped aside so she could enter. Josie looked around the room, humming.
“If you want, we could go shopping for some decorations tomorrow after school.” Josie said, moving one hand under her skirt as she sat down. You nodded, taking a seat beside her and subtly turning the phone off. Josie opened the lid of the tub, handing you a spoon and giving a small shy smile.
“Well, Welcome to Salvatore School. I’m pretty sure dad is still figuring out your class schedule.”
“Dad?”
“Oh, uhm, the headmaster is my dad.” Josie shrugged, digging her spoon into the ice cream. Your brows raised, a small smile spreading across your face.
“Really? You look nothing like him.. Which is a big compliment.” You grinned as Josie let out a soft giggle. Things were definitely starting to look up.

Dysfunctional - pt. 1
Tumblr media
A/N: I'm just bored.
XX
Growth is something only a little amount of people know about. Nobody truly wants to grow but they do, whether they choose to or not, through time they change.
And so as a bad man finds a bible, a good woman finds her power.
Who were you in the eyes of most people? - A question that always floated in the back of your mind. Like a pebble in your shoe, the one you could never get rid of. It was the main question that bothered you all years through Hogwarts, up to a point where you pushed it so far down and completely transformed it.
Who are you in the eyes of yourself?
Foolish question that oddly worked wonders for you and your transformation. You change your mindset, you change yourself right? At least that's what all those Muggle books had been telling you.
All Hogwarts dug their interest in you all of a sudden but you haven't thought much about it. For you, it was as if nothing had changed. You thought you didn't interest anybody and that was what made you keep yourself on the right path to focus on you and the little moments life has to offer.
"I can't believe that's her." Sirius leaned over, staring and smiling.
"Wave a whole banner, don't you." Remus retorded, rolling his eyes.
"If only she wasn't a Slytherin- by the way, how could she had got sorted into Slytherin. Since our interactions had always been so... civil and well... she posed no threat what-so-ever. I'd always imagined her being in a Hufflepuff." James added, meanwhile Sirius sat down and grabbed himself a toast.
"She lives not far from us." started Peter and all eyes turned to him. "(Y/n)." he felt the need to clarify. "I had heard loads of shouting in her house... since we lived there, everybody knew her family situation."
"Rich and spoiled?" Sirius rolled his eyes, taking another bite in his toast.
"Rich and... strict... very strict father and mother..." Peter mumbled, looking at his bread.
"Oh, that's right. Met her father once- loud old sod." James looked back, looking at you laughing with some of other Slytherins- the bad kind that caused his heart to be swallowed by his stomach. "Always so angry..." he continued, looking at you until your eyes met and he quickly turned away.
"She's got nice hair." said Sirius as all of them furrowed their eyebrows at him. "It's just an observation." he shrugged.
---
You had been starting to hang out a lot with the wrong crowd of Hogwarts. Everybody started to notice... everybody started to say they were corrupting you and the changes they noticed were quite massive.
You started talking back to the teachers. Something you have never thought of doing, since your shyness was a large part of your childhood personality. But that was just it... you weren't a child anymore, were you?
You were going out of the classroom when somebody rushed right into you, spilling the coffee in your hand all over you and your books.
The boy's eyes widened as he continued to look at the stains that were starting to show all over your uniform.
"I am so sorry, (Y/N). I swear, I didn't mean to- I just- you appeared out of nowhere-" James started to apologize. You were only staring down, staring at him, then back down and just as James was preparing to be yelled at, hexed at or cursed at you let out a laugh.
"Well hell..." you smiled up at him. "Finally a reason to get a new robe." you let out another laugh, meanwhile James only stood there.
"You're not... mad?"
"Well, being mad wouldn't really do us much favour, would it now?" you picked up your books that weren't that much damaged as you thought they'd be. "Shame for the coffee tho. Can't really function without it."
"Coffee?" he repeated. "You're mad about the coffee?" he started to feel a bit relieved.
"I don't joke about coffee, Potter. You should know that." you wiped the books with the sleeves of your uniform. You started to take off the robe so that you would only stand there in front of him with your shirt, tie and skirt. Only then James started to realise how much your body has changed since the last time he had seen you. Your breast, specifically, where he could see your finely shaped lace bra through the coffee stain. He felt his cheeks go red, radiating through his faint freckles and you couldn't help yourself but to smile.
"I'm so sorr- rry." he muttered again, taking off his robe and offering it to you. "Here. Take it."
"Oh, nice. A Gryffindor robe." you took it and wrapped it around yourself. "Though, I always imagined stealing it." you winked and he let out a laugh.
"Would fit your house perfectly."
"Theft?" you questioned. "No. Not a trait for Slytherins."
"No?" he grinned, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning back. "If it's not their trait, then whose is?"
"Mine." you winked again, grabbing the bag from the floor as James grabbed your books. "Now, imagine a Slytherin coming into the common room with a Gryffindor robe. God, I'd piss them all off."
James started to laugh. "You hate your own house?"
"Oh, God no." you let out a laugh as you started to walk beside him and notice him looking at you, observing you. "I just find this house thing rivalry real funny." you said, finding him still staring. You stopped and turned around. "What are you staring at Potter?"
"You, clearly." he pointed out bluntly. "It suits you so much better than me and it clearly doesn't even fit you."
You started to laugh. "Well, don't get jealous over it. I'll give it back to you when we reach the dungeons."
"Oh, you can give it back later?"
"Why?"
"Because you can see everything through the stains. Why do you think I offered it to you? Plus, you said you wanted to piss off Slytherins and I'd like to piss of Slytherins as well."
"A common interest."
"Exactly."
"Though, I think they'll live, knowing I wear a bra and that I have... a body. Maybe they'll finally stop thinking I'm half mermaid or something." you started to joke and so did James. "If I really wanted to piss them off, I'd use a tie because a robe looks like any other robe, really."
James was the one that stopped now, shoving the books he held into your arms and untying his tie.
"No way, you're doing that. I was joking."
"I'm not." he smiled with his teeth and pulled it over his head. He untied yours and pulled it over yours, exchanging it for his own, Gryffindor tie. "Tell me how it goes. " he said just before he left, lifting your tie in his fist. "I'll keep on to this- just in case I don't get mine back.
"Alrighty!" you shouted after him.
---
It wasn't until the next day when James was drowsily eating his breakfast before his practice. You came from behind and scared him half to death. His toast flew from his hand and all eyes flew to the two of you. You squeezed between him and the red-head, completely dismissing her presence as you gave James a cheeky smile.
"Want to know?"
"You made my toast fly away." he siad drowsily.
"And you made my coffee make love to the floor. Now do you want to know?"
"How are you so chirp this morning? It's not even seven?"
"Got up at 2am. Had like two coffees since then. Anyway. Do you want to know?"
"Two in the morning? Hell, why did you get up so early- that's not even early... that's like late. And yeah, I do want to know." he started t wake up to the news.
"Been studying all week at night and now I sleep in the noon and am awake in the night. Fun." you chirped.
"Okay- tell me what happened?"
"The looks- oh, my God, you should have been there when I walked it. It was like I murdered their entire family."
"No-" he let out a laugh.
"Mulciber came to me." you started to talk in a more drama-spilling tone and James got excited.
"I thought the two of you were like friends."
"Us? Maybe in another dimension but like-
' *flashback*
"What the hell are you wearing?" he stomped to you and grabbed you by your tie, to which you shoved away in a second.
"Haven't you seen this new trend? I think it goes with- you are what you eat." you started to tease, turning around like a fashion model as you placed your hands on your hips. "Or in this case, you wear what you eat and I eat coffee every day, any day." you winked.
"And the tie?"
"You like?" you continued, seeing the little jealousy burn in his eyes, except you knew far well it wasn't jealousy. It was possessiveness and you'd rather go to hell than be anybody's property. "It's from my new beau." you fanned yourself, wrapping yourself in his robe and peeking through it. "A prince on white horse came to me today-"
"Be serious, (y/n)."
"I am dead serious." you pouted playfully. "He rushed on his horse and knocked me down, spilled my poor coffee all over me. It was like love at first sight. He scooped me into his arms and said 'Oh, dear! How could I have hurt this beautiful creature.-"
"You really didn't say that?" James interrupted the story telling, laughing as the other's who were surrounding you laughed with you.
"I did. Now let me go back."
- "He didn't say that!" Mulciber rolled his eyes. "Don't tell me you're shagging a Gryffindor?"
"I'm not." you started to get more serious. "And if I would be, would it be such a bad thing doing one? I mean, you only live once, why would it be wrong not taking a taste of all four cakes." you teased again, causing him to grow redder in his pale skin.
"You stole it."
"It was pleasantly exchanged."
"Exchanged?"
"A tie for a tie." you smiled.
"Why don't we go, eye for an eye?"
"Because nobody wants to give their eye, silly." you continued.
"You really annoy me, you know."
"I do and I really do not care. I only want to go to my room and take a nap."
"I will find out, you know!"
"I don't care!"
"Who was it?!"
"Dumbledore!"
*end of fashback*
"You're crazy." James continued to laugh.
"A little dysfunctional but not crazy." you winked and got up.
"And my things?"
"Do you got mine?"
"No, I didn't think I'd see you this early."
"Well then... guess they are mine now." you leaned forward, an inch apart as both of you continued to grin at each other, not another word spoken. You didn't dare to look anywhere else than his hazel eyes, such a wonderful mixture of green, brown and yellow. It amazes you how somebody can have such a wonderful eye colour. He didn't even only have one colour but three. "Pretty." you said, still smiling and pulled away, jumping back on your feet as he turned to you, smiling.
"Wait!" Sirius spoke before you could leave. "When did... when did you become best friends?"
"We didn't." James answered and you looked down at him, raising an eyebrow and feeling amused.
"No. We just made blood bond nobody else could break." you spoke mysteriously, putting your elbows on James' shoulders and placing your head on top of his, staring at Sirius. "And now we will secretly plan the end of the world. Muahahah." you joked, standing back up as the others laughed. "See you later Potts." and with that you were gone as the other watched you.
"What... just happened?" Remus started laughing, amazed.
"They made a blood bond." Sirius pointed his finger at you disappearing.
James started laughing. "Maybe now I can ask her about what she does with her hair for you." James got up and winked at Sirius.
"Oh, would you? I really want to know." Sirius stood up and started to walk behind him. "Just... say it's for Lily or something."
James started laughing again, then realising. "Oh, shit!" he turned around, searching for the red-head that was sitting beside him. "She was telling me something when (y/n) appeared. I totally forgot about her."
Sirius started laughing loudly, tapping James' shoulder. "Good luck getting her attention now."

Okay so hc’s of Hawks, Dabi, Bakugo, and Shinsou with an outta pocket s/o plz! She just oozes crackhead energy and says the most funniest most wildest shit. (Hawks:*teasing her* S/O: Ah, so you think cuz your balls drag across the floor, you got jokes huh? ☺️) Sis could come up with the most immaculate of roasts (S/O: Mineta, you waste of sperm! I will rip your spine outta your ass and make it into fine China before sending it to your parents 😡) and do the dumbest things just cuz she wants to (Monoma’s on his bullshit and S/O just suplexes him without saying a single word). Imagine their faces when she breaks the fourth wall a couple of times, says some freaky shit with a straight face, or she’ll just go “Nope” and jump out of a window with no hesitation (she don’t care how high the drop is, she heading out). Need them to be with someone who just has “I woke up and chose violence” energy.
I POSTED IT TO THE WRONG ASK 😭😭😭 i still have the other request saved on the actual document so at least i didnt completely fuck it up
still, im gonna go cry in a corner so brb
---
i had a stroke reading this 😅
but like i read this out to my buddy @grapefantaenby and we both were like BRO I LOVE THAT, even if my writing of it is subpar at best lol
also that m*neta insult is actual perfection. might send it to my ex
Warnings: chaos, some swear words, m*neta exists 🤮
---
Hawks/Keigo Takami:
🍗 Keigo loves it
🍗 He especially loved when the two are you are partnered up, simply because of how terrified the villains are when they see you. You’re not even that scary, they just have no idea what you’re going to do
🍗 You could either decide your weapon of choice that day is a chair, or take a bag of popcorn from a nearby store and just sit there eating it while Hawks does his job (heroes don’t steal so Keigo always makes sure to go back to the store and pay for you if you forget)
🍗 He’s used to you jumping out of random windows. He was absolutely terrified the first time, and jumped straight after you to catch you, but now he just sends a bunch of his feathers to make sure you make it to the ground safely
🍗 You don’t bend over and accept everything the commission asks you to do, and it’s quite common for them to demand that Hawks keep an eye on you to ensure you don’t get into too much trouble. It’s also quite common for you to just walk out mid meeting with a middle finger to the rest of the conference room and a scream that you want food
🍗 The fourth wall breaks. Oh God the fourth wall breaks. Hawks literally just stand there like ‘what the fuck’ when you turn to an empty piece of sidewalk and mutter something about villains being too hot for their own good (legit thinks for a moment you mean temperature-wise, but is still confused anyway)
---
Dabi/Touya Todoroki:
💙🔥 Oh boy. If there’s one thing that gets on Dabi’s nerves it’s chaotic individuals. He deals with Toga and Twice on a daily basis, so you’d think he’d know how to tone out the craziness. Alas, he does not
💙🔥 Sometimes he wants to throw you against the wall and just tell you to shut up for a goddamn second, and other times he wants to praise you for showing some low level villain that the league was not to be messed with. Maybe you did it with an insult about his mother, but it still worked, and the villain left you with an apology quickly enough
💙🔥 Not that Dabi would ever actually tell anyone that he thought they did a good job, so he usually just ignores you, attempting to stay out of your way (he also doesn’t really want you to insult his mother)
💙🔥 Eventually he becomes more accustomed to your… uniqueness, and occasionally you actually manage to get a half smile from him with one of your numerous insults aimed towards Shigaraki. They can get pretty creative
💙🔥 If Dabi is ever at odds with the rest of the league for some reason (there’s not really a reason, he’s just being Dabi), they - usually mom Kurogiri - sends you in an attempt to cheer him up. If you don’t manage to cheer him up, you still manage to annoy him enough to force him back to the rest of them. Either way it works out
---
Katsuki Bakugou:
💥 ‘Wow you’re annoying’ is the first thing Bakugou thinks when he meets you (he should meet himself) so he plans to just ignore you. After all, he’s not there to make friends. He’s there to be the best hero
💥 Annoyingly, even with your naturally chaotic energy, you still manage to stay right on his toes. That’s what finally gets him to notice you (notice me senpai), and to his frustration, you’re barely even trying to beat him, and yet you manage to remain hot on his heels
💥 He’s surprised you’re not suspended from all the shit you pull, but you always manage to get yourself out of trouble one way or another. Even if that way is jumping out of a second story window and claiming they can’t kick you out when you’re injured (how that actually works he has no idea)
💥 He’s wanted to throw a chair at that stupid copycat Monoma since he first met him, so when you actually throw a chair at the guy, Bakugou laughs. Like really laughs. Kirishima thought he might’ve been possessed for a moment, but Monoma’s expression when he finally got back up was priceless
💥 It takes a while but he slowly manages to respect your skill as a hero - as much as King Explosion Murder can respect anyone. And even though your personality is… unusual, you’re not Deku, so he can deal with you
💥 Besides, anyone who can and will suplex Monoma without any warning is a worthy friend for him
---
Hitoshi Shinsou:
💜 The first time he met you, you were screaming like a banshee running through the halls of school, chasing after a small purple speck some way off in the distance. He didn’t get involved
💜 He saw you next being held apart from Bakugou with help from Aizawa’s scarf. You were screaming again, but this time at least you sounded human. He heard something about an ‘angry pomeranian’ before he decided to leave you to it
💜 You’re part of 1A, so Shinsou doesn’t pay you much mind other than the infuriating need to prove himself to everyone that ever doubted him. He’s surprised when you don’t act like the others in your class, and first gets to talk to you after you barrel into him in the hallways mid lesson (you were both skipping so he didn’t call you out on it)
💜 He asked if you were okay, and your exasperated response of ‘Bakugou’ explained enough for him. You sat together for a while. Okay, you refused to get up from the floor. He got tired of standing and decided to join you
💜 You get your first smile from him after you’re almost caught by a teacher looking for you, when you grab his hand and make a mad dash to a darkened classroom currently unused by anyone else
💜 Your first laugh comes when you flip off Denki after he tried one of his many pickup lines on you. The blond’s reaction was great, and Shinsou couldn't help but chuckle at how you managed to twist Denki’s pickup line into some distorted insult to his… nether regions
💜 Your chaos is a nice contrast to how nonchalant Shinsou usually is. You bring some much needed joy to the purple haired insomniac, and he helps to calm you down when your usual energy might be unneeded in certain situations. You know what they say; opposites attract

teach me about love
Tumblr media
member: kevin genre: fluff (preschool teacher!kevin au) word count: 2,120 synopsis: when your brother asks you to pick up your nieces from school, you find a teacher that you find to be cuter than the toddlers there.
a/n: happy birthday to our moonlight boy, kevin 🌙
You didn’t really like kids. They were adorable, of course, but they were snotty walking embodiments of germs and you had no idea how to entertain them. They were absolutely precious when sleeping but their tantrums terrified you.
Whenever they came up to you with those bright expectant eyes, you didn’t know what to do except pet their head. Everyone around you would scold you saying that they were children, not dogs. But in your defense, they didn’t seem to mind.
To be honest, you preferred dogs over kids. They were cute all the time.
Nonetheless, you still adored your nieces. The older one, Ahyoung, reminded you of your own past self. She was shy and reserved but sought out love and attention. She constantly needed assurance to fight early signs of anxiety. The younger one, Soyoung, was the complete opposite; she was loud and outgoing. She easily made friends with everyone and adjusted well to new environments.
So when your brother asked you for a last minute favor, you were more than happy to pick them up at their preschool. Unfortunately, however, you were terrible with directions and ended up 20 minutes late.
Apologizing profusely to the staff and teachers, you made your way throughout the building to find their classroom. That was another struggle of its own.
“Auntie Y/n!” you heard two familiar voices screech. You laughed as they ran up to you and hugged your legs.
“Sorry I’m late girls,” you pouted as you squished their cheeks.
“It’s okay, Auntie! Teacher Kevin was playing house with us,” Ahyoung beamed.
“Teacher Kevin was our dog!” Soyoung giggled.
You looked up to see a male teacher sheepishly escape from the tiny playhouse. You held back a laugh, pitying him for what the girls put him through.
“I’m sorry about that,” you chuckled.
“No worries,” he smiled. “It’s my job and I love kids. I had fun playing with them too.”
“I’m Y/n,” you introduced as you held out a hand. “I’m Ahyoung and Soyoung’s aunt. I came to pick them up since my brother got caught up in a work emergency.”
“It’s nice to meet you. My name is Kevin,” he said as he shook your hand. You knew it was unprofessional to think this but he was cute. Like, really cute.
Trying to leave before your smiling cheeks could reveal your thoughts, you quickly collected the girls’ bags and helped them put their jackets on. You bid their cute teacher goodbye and happily suggested an aunt-niece ice cream date. They cheered at the idea of sweets and raced to your car.
Tumblr media
The next week, your brother asked if you could pick the girls up from school again. Apparently they had been bugging him to have their favorite aunt come every day.
You weren’t sure if it was his flattery or if it was their sneaky plan for ice cream but you didn’t mind. As a freelancer, you had a flexible schedule. You were glad to spend time with your nieces and catch another glimpse of their teacher.
This time, you made sure to leave your house early. You ended up arriving before dismissal and watched as the kids ran around in the playground. Something about seeing Kevin’s eyes sparkle in front of them made you soft. He seemed so genuinely happy and looked at each student with honey dripping from his eyes.
Soyoung squealed as she chased after a boy who tapped her free in a game of freeze tag. She was a little confused about the rules but the effort was there.
While still keeping an eye on the children, Kevin approached you and asked if you wanted a juice box. You kindly declined, thanking him for the offer.
“You’re really good with the little ones,” you complimented.
“Ah, no, they’re the ones who are good with me,” he shyly shook his head. “I’m thankful that they see me as a fun and respectable teacher.”
“I find young kids to be difficult,” you confessed. “I don’t know how to match their level.”
“I get you. It’s definitely not easy to figure out what they want and try to communicate with them with their still-developing language skills. I’m still not great at it. I just try to improve a little more every day,” he said humbly.
He was a lot better than you who was quick to give up and run away. His words made you reflect and feel slightly guilty.
The bell chimed, making the students rush to line up in front of the door. Kevin left your side to gather everyone together and take them back inside to gather their belongings.
By now, a handful of parents had arrived and were waiting for their children. One by one, the students walked out with their matching yellow chick backpacks, excitedly running up to their guardian.
Your nieces greeted you in that high pitched shriek you loved, body slamming into your open arms. With them in your embrace, you gave them a tight squeeze before getting up and holding their hands to take them to the car.
“Wait!” you heard Kevin call out. Turning around, you were surprised to see him running towards you. When he caught up to you, he held out a book. Taking it, you read the title.
“The Body Language of Toddlers”
“I thought you might find this book useful,” his hands fumbled awkwardly, not knowing where to go. His gesture brought you a warm feeling.
“Thank you, Kevin. I’ll be sure to give it a read,” you smiled.
“Ooooh,” Ahyoung wiggled her eyebrows, making both you and Kevin blush. You ruffled her hair and ushered her towards your vehicle.
Tumblr media
Picking the girls up from school became a biweekly thing for you. Every Monday and Friday, you would arrive ten minutes early to chat with Kevin as he told you funny stories that happened throughout the day. And when you worked with a bunch of preschoolers, there were a lot of those types of stories.
You listened as he went on about how a little boy woke up from a nap thinking he had an argument with his friend because of a nightmare he had. Kevin had to convince him that it was all a dream and that his friend did not actually steal his gummy worms and lie about it.
The way he spoke about his students was endearing. He made them sound like lovely angels even when they were cranky and misbehaving.
“We’re looking for chaperones for the upcoming field trip if you’re interested,” he cautiously brought up. “We only had a few parents sign up so we’d really appreciate any extra helping hands.”
Panicking, you stuttered about how you didn’t have the confidence to keep rowdy kids in check at a public space. He assured you that your only responsibility would be to make sure no one ran off and to accompany kids to the bathroom if they had to separate from the group.
He was a smooth talker. He somehow persuaded you into agreeing and you couldn’t believe you left the school that day after signing the form.
“Auntie, do you like Teacher Kevin?” Ahyoung asked you in the car ride back home.
“Sure, Teacher Kevin is nice,” you hummed.
“No, she means do you like like him?” Soyoung pressed.
You feigned innocence and pretended not to understand what they were talking about. They grilled you about how often you talked with him and even pointed out that he didn’t talk to other parents like that. They sure were smart-witted for their age.
Tumblr media
On the day of the field trip, you spent a long time deciding on what to wear. You had no idea how casual you were supposed to dress as a chaperone.
You ended up choosing a simple outfit and rushed out the door to avoid being late. You had to say you were excited. It had been ages since you last visited an aquarium. And maybe the extra butterflies in your stomach were because of a certain someone you were looking forward to seeing.
Meeting Kevin outside of the school felt different. He stood out in the crowd of tiny humans. Even more so once you entered the place and you noticed that most of the visitors were families, students, or couples.
You softly smiled as you watched the kids fawn over colorful fish and gawk at sharks. It felt like you were returning to your own childhood innocence. You followed Ahyoung, who was pulling at your sleeve, to the jellyfish section where she asked you to take a picture of her with the transparent creature.
The photos came out so incredibly that you had to immediately send them to your brother. He texted back almost instantly and you scoffed when you read his message.
“Heck yeah I made that. Those are my genes right there.”
Rolling your eyes, the corners of your lips twitched up as you put the device away. You guided Ahyoung back to the rest of the group and ran into Kevin who was coming back from the bathroom with another student.
“How are you enjoying the trip so far?” he asked.
“It’s nice. Honestly not as chaotic as I thought it’d be,” you admitted.
“Oh don’t jinx it. Lunch time will be hectic,” he warned.
He was right. Between picky kids and the kimbap packed by their parents, the unwanted vegetables were flown around the picnic table. You barely managed to avoid the carrot that was flung in your direction. Unluckily, you were unable to dodge the spinach that was now tangled in your hair.
Kevin laughed as he tried to help you take it out, cracking a joke about it looking like seaweed and you looking like a mermaid dragged out of the ocean.
“He means you’re pretty, Auntie!!” Soyoung eagerly translated on his behalf. “Mermaids are super super pretty. Like Ariel, the princess!”
This raised a teasing crowd of “ooh”s from the group of preschoolers.
“Teacher Kevin and Auntie Y/n sitting in a tree,” a boy began chanting, “K-I-S-S-I-N-G!”
His friend made a face and screamed “ew,” making him laugh uncontrollably. Meanwhile, Kevin was trying his best to cover his burning ears. He pulled the beanie over his ears, not wanting to expose his embarrassment.
“My daddy said no boy is good enough for Auntie but I’ll tell him nice things about you, Teacher Kevin. Just specially for you,” Ahyoung proudly announced.
Awkwardly coughing, you stuffed her cheeks with another roll of kimbap. Her muffled cries of resistance were appeased with a juice box shoved into her mouth. The sweet drink diverted her attention away from you and back to her lunch.
You two were now officially shipped by all of Kevin’s students. Even the other teachers giggled as they passed by you.
By the end of the field trip, you were one of the last ones to leave. After all the other students and teachers departed from the aquarium, Kevin escorted you to the car with a sleeping Ahyoung in his arms and a sleeping Soyoung in yours.
You both carefully placed them in their car seats and closed the door after buckling their seat belts. Now that you were alone with him, you didn’t know what to say. Despite the silence, it wasn’t necessarily uncomfortable.
“So have you warmed up to the idea of kids yet?” he finally asked after clearing his throat.
“The book you gave me definitely taught me a lot of things,” you nodded. “Now I’m not completely terrified of them. And seeing you handle kids comforts me.”
“Really? How so?”
“I don’t know. It’s just… you so effortlessly take care of them and I can see how much you cherish each and every one of your students. I envy that.”
“Trust me, it’s not as easy as you think it is,” he chuckled.
Silence fell between you again but you simply enjoyed his presence. You turned your head to see him already staring at you. With your eyes, you wordlessly asked if there was something he wanted to say.
“So uh tomorrow’s Saturday,” he suddenly mentioned. He was fiddling with a loose thread on his sweater and hesitated to speak up again.
“Do you have any plans for the weekend?” he blurted. You couldn’t stop the smile that crept up on your face.
“Nope.”
“Would you like to um grab dinner with me tomorrow then?”
He anxiously held his breath as he waited for your response. Biting his lips, he wondered if he had ruined things by going too fast.
“Sure. How’s 6?” you finally answered.
“6 is great. 6 is lovely. Wonderful. Perfect,” he replied with a huge grin.

Sweater ↠ Draco Malfoy
Tumblr media
Draco Malfoy Masterlist // Harry Potter Masterlist
Draco Malfoy x Slytherin!Fem!Reader
Summary: Y/N and Draco have been best friends ever since their first year. She’s been harboring feelings for him ever since their 3rd year. But when a girl comes to Hogwarts taking Dracos attention, Y/N thinks back to when he gave her his sweater
Request: Hi cod you please write a Draco x reader based off of the song heather by Cohan Gray where Draco and the reader are close and a new girl comes along who she thinks is a lot prettier than her? Maybe a lot of angst with some fluff at the end.
Requested by: Anonymous
Warnings: Angst, fluff, swearing
AN: Heather by Conan Gray
Y/N hated her potions class. Snape was a very hard teacher to get good grades. But one thing about thing about the class was good.
Draco Malfoy.
Also known as her best friend and her crush for years. She met the Malfoy boy in their 1st year when they were both sorted into Slytherin.
Y/N was so happy she met him. Draco helped her with everything. Schoolwork, social life and even her family life. Though Y/N helped with his home life since Draco didn’t have the most stable family.
When Y/N began liking him she tried to make it more obvious so Draco would know she liked him. But Draco was an oblivious to all of her soft touches on his arm, kisses to his cheek and Y/N even flirting with him.
Y/N thought he would catch on and either admit his feelings or tell her to back off.
But nothing.
Draco didn’t notice any of Y/N’s tactics. It angered her and saddened since she felt like she loved him. Romantically and platonically.
So Y/N stopped after a couple of weeks not wanting to give their friendship up because of her feelings. But that didn’t stop the feelings she had for him.
Y/N ignored the butterflies in her stomach when she was around him and just went on normally.
But there was this one time where Y/N thought he felt the same about her.
It was a cold and chilly night on the astronomy towers were Y/N and Draco sat on one of the benches.
The two were talking about their days and just sitting comfortably in the silence.
“God I hated potions today,” Y/N grumbled wrapping her arms around herself trying to get warmer.
“You hate potions everyday,” Draco scoffs while smiling.
“Yeah but more so today,” Y/N corrected herself turning to face the Malfoy boy. “How can you stand Snape,” She asks curiosity running through her eyes.
Y/N picked around the skin around the nails. It was a nervous habit she had.
“Just doesn’t bother me as much as my father does,” Draco stared and Y/N looked at him with sympathy in her eyes.
Y/N put her hand on his to comfort him. Draco cringed noticing how cold she was.
“Merlins your freezing Y/N,” Draco could hear her shivering.
“It’s fine it’s just a chilly night,” Y/N smiled squeezing his hand. Draco took his hand off hers and took his sweater off.
“Lift your arms,” Draco instructed which made Y/N look at him confused. “Just do it,” Draco said annoyed. Y/N rolled her eyes lifting her arms as he put the sweater on her.
“Draco no you’ll freeze then,” Y/N put some of her hair behind her ears since it was all in her face and couldn’t see straight.
“I’m fine I don’t want you to die from hypothermia,” Draco stayed and sat back down. “And plus we are probably gonna have to go in soon,” He mentioned.
Y/N smiled at Draco who smiled back. Y/N could feel her heart rate increase as she felt really giddy spending time with Draco.
The two Slytherins talked for another half an hour when Y/N noticed the time and mentioned it.
“Merlins beard I didn’t notice the time,” Y/N looked at the time in shock. They’ve been talking for so long she didn’t notice she should be in bed.
“Let’s get to bed before the prefects come for our necks,” Draco jokes making Y/N laugh.
As they entered to common room out of breath Draco said goodnight to Y/N who stopped him before he left.
“Wait Draco your sweater,” Y/N whispered not wanting to wake the people up. She was about to pull the clothing off but Draco stopped her.
“No keep it looks better on you love,” Draco winked at Y/N who felt like she was out of breath.
Y/N could feel a smile cross her lips as she got to her dorm and got ready for bed. Y/N hugged his sweater as she went to bed thinking Draco felt the same about her.
But he didn’t. At least Y/N thought so.
The next day a new girl came to the school. And Y/N could see Draco get memorized by her.
Her name was Aurora. She was insanely beautiful and incredibly smart. But Y/N thought nothing would come out of it and everything would go away.
But it didn’t.
Everyone kept talking about her. Especially Draco. Y/N thought Draco was in love with the girl and when he talked about her Y/N wished she were in Auroras position.
Draco admired the girl and whenever they talked it was always about Aurora.
Y/N kept her hatred for the girl hidden since she wanted Draco to be happy. And plus she only dislikes Aurora because of the way Draco felt about her.
Y/N noticed she was a really sweet girl which made it harder for Y/N.
Y/N also noticed her and Draco haven’t been spending much time together. And it was a surprise to Aurora and Draco talking on the couch all cuddled up.
Y/N had tears in the corner of her eyes. She ran up the tears hoping she didn’t get noticed.
She crashed on the bed letting out the tears that were so desperately trying to escape. Y/N grabbed the sweater of Dracos from the under her pillow and hugged it while she cried.
Y/N really thought she had something with Draco. It also felt like she was losing her best friend.
Y/N was usually in the place of Aurora since her and Draco cuddled often. But what made it worse it seemed like Draco didn’t care that Y/N wasn’t around as much.
Over the next few days Y/N tried talking to the blonde only getting interrupted by Aurora who gave her a sweet smile.
Y/N would walk off with a frown clutching her school books.
She thought about just talking to him about her feelings but decided against since she had a feeling in the pit of her stomach.
At night Y/N would usually be sleeping with Dracos sweater since it was the only thing of Dracos she had. And now since they were apparently having problems it comforted her.
One day a few weeks later Y/N got detention from Snape since Y/N talked back to him in class which angered him. But Y/N was sitting on the couch in the Slytherin common room when Draco barged in.
“I heard what happened with Snape to day,” Draco soothingly stayed and sat next to Y/N who rolled her eyes. Why is he talking to her now after weeks of not talking? “Are you ok,” He asks warily.
“I’m fine,” Y/N said in a monotone voice trying to focus on her charms essay that was due in a few days. Y/N was biting her lip which was another bad habit she had.
“Are you sure I know how bad Snape can tick you off,” Draco tried to comfort the girl who had an angered expression on her face.
“Why don’t you just go and hang with Aurora and leave me the hell alone,” Y/N seethed at the boy who’s eyes widen.
“What does this have to Aurora,” Draco narrowed his eyes taping his foot against the floor.
“Well we’ve barely talked these last few weeks because you were to busy trying to get in her pants,” Y/N shouted. They were lucky everyone was as at Hogsmeade.
“You can’t be serious,” Draco huffed and got up where Y/N was now standing. “Wait are you jealous,” He asked realizing something.
“No why would I be jealous of a girl who’s trying to steal my best friend,” Y/N sarcastically stated rolling her eyes.
“Can’t believe you’re jealous,” Draco muttered smirking to himself.
“Oh so your proud of yourself for basically ignoring me for weeks,” Y/N hissed anger bubbling in her stomachZ
“No just proud you were jealous,” Draco crossed his arms around his chest feeling happy with himself.
“Of course you don’t care,” Y/N scoffed. “I guess you don’t care that I’ve loved you for years and have tried everything to get you to see it but just one girl comes and bats her eyelashes and you fall to the ground,” She ranted to the boy who’s cocky expression changed to a shocked one.
“What,” Draco asked in a whisper.
“Never mind just go find Aurora I’m sure she’s looking for you,” Y/N ran her hands through her hair. She gathered her things up shoving her shoulder with Dracos going up to her room.
As Y/N sat on the bed she felt a weight lifted off her shoulders as she admitted her feelings.
For the rest of the night she finished her homework trying to get Draco out of her mind and it seemed to work until she got an owl from Draco.
‘Come to the astronomy tower in 5’ - Draco
Y/N debated whether she should go for a minutes. It would embarrass her if she went and he rejected her.
But she couldn’t run anymore so she decided to go.
“What do you want Draco,” Y/N sighed as she entered the astronomy tower with a tired expression on her face.
“I wanted to talk,” Draco whispered leaning his arms on the railing and looking up at the sky not facing Y/N.
Y/N walked up next to him and state, “If you’re just going to reject me can we get over it because I’m already emb-,” Y/N was caught off by Draco grabbing her waist and putting his lips on hers.
Y/N was flabbergasted at first but wrapped her arms around hip molding her lips with his. Y/N’s wanted to do this for years.
“Draco we cant,” Y/N said out of breath putting her hands on his chest removing her lips from his.
“Why not love,” Draco smirked as pushed some of her hair behind her ear then caressing her cheek with his cold hand.
“Aurora,” Y/N just stated.
“Aurora and I aren’t dating we were just friends and she helped me make you jealous,” Draco explained.
“You were trying to make me jealous,” Y/N’s eyes widen. “You jerk I cried over you,” She pushed his shoulder away feeling angry at him.
“I’m sorry I just wanted you to admit your feelings,” Draco apologized putting his hands back on her waist. “Will you forgive me,” he asked leaning his forehead against her.
Y/N thought about it for a second before giving him a soft smile.
“Of course I can’t stay mad at you,” Y/N teased leaning up to kiss him.
After the kiss Y/N leaned her head on his chest listening to his heartbeat the thumbing calming her.
“Still have your sweater.”
“I know love.”

High school is hard. Complex concepts, growing up, responsibilities, making friends. Why can’t you be in elementary school forever? Maybe you won’t have this hard time dealing with everything in your life. But then again, maybe it was just you.
Your childhood friend, Yuta, is doing so well in his high school life. He’s famous because of soccer, he has lots of friends, and it seemed like he had everything in his life figured out. Maybe it’s really just you.
“Y/N, can you keep the class funds for today?” one of your friends asked and you nodded, taking the envelope from her. “The teacher will come to look for it later.” You nodded once again, placing the envelope in between the sheets of your notebook then putting it inside your bag. You also made sure to close your bag when another friend called you for lunch.
Honestly, you were thankful for the two friends you always hang out with. Without them, you might not survive this hell of high school.
They went inside the room first since they asked you to buy a drink which you agreed to. A can of coffee fell from the Vendo machine but someone raced you into taking it. “You never drink coffee,” Yuta claimed, getting the can then handing it to you.
“It’s not mine.” You said before you got another can of coffee which made him shake his head.
Before you can put the money for your drink, he put in a bill inside the machine. “Choose yours.” You clicked on a strawberry juice and he chuckled before clicking the lemon juice. He held both since you're already holding the two cans of coffee and you smiled at him, thanking him.
A teacher was already in your classroom, asking you for the class funds. You put down the cans of coffee on your desk and confidently, opened your bag to look for the envelope you put inside. To your surprise, even the notebook is gone. “What happened?” Your friend asked at your panicking state. You even took out all the things inside your bag but the notebook isn’t even there.
“It’s gone.” You whispered before checking everything. “I put it inside my notebook and now, my notebook is gone.” You tried to explain but the two girls’ looks at you were enough to know that they lost their trust in you.
The teacher asked you to come with her to the faculty and you reluctantly followed her. She kept asking what happened, where the class fund is, and where you kept it. You explained to her everything that happened yet she only sighed. “I’ll put you on cleaning duty after class for losing the money.” You pursed your lips. “Please be responsible next time.” You nodded.
Your class group chat is already exploding with messages about how the class fund is lost. Everyone pointing their fingers at you that you just closed your phone and ran behind the school building. You crouched down on the spot just below the window so no one could see you then cried your eyes out. Why does this feel so unfair? Is it your fault that you lost the money when you put it inside your bag? Where did it go?
“Did the teacher scold you?” You heard someone ask and you hastily wiped your tears. You raised your head up to see Yuta looking at you from the window pane while sipping his lemon juice. “Where did you put the money?”
You stood up while pouting. “In my notebook.” You said then started crying once again, “Are you not believing me as well? This is so unfair. I didn’t do anything.”
Voices can be heard approaching the two of you. You saw Yuta reach for you before you felt a hand on the back of your head, pulling you closer. He let you cry on his chest, hiding you from the other students passing in the hallway.
Yuta tapped your back as you teared up. “You can cry if you feel that it’s unfair but we need to find who did this to you,” he whispered before caressing your hair. You can feel him looking around before stepping backward, “Dry your tears before coming to class, hmm?” He handed you the strawberry milk and you nodded at him.
The class was in chaos when you came inside, Yuta and the class president were checking all your classmates’ bags that made them revolt. “Why are you doing this, Yuta?” one of your friends asked, holding her bag tightly. “You can’t look at my bag.”
“Isn’t it your job to hold the class funds today?” Kun asked. “Why would Y/N have the class fund?”
“Why are you accusing me?” she asked, standing up. “She volunteered to do it.” You did. “It’s her responsibility.”
“Then why can’t we check your bag?” Yuta asked. She held on to her backpack, tight. “Are you hiding something?”
You went beside her and pulled her bag that startled her. The contents falling to the ground. Although you don’t want to believe it, your notebook was on the pile of her things. The moment you picked it up, the envelope fell which Kun picked. “You really did take it.”
“I didn’t,” she shouted. “Maybe it was Y/N who put that in my bag.”
‘What? But I…’
”I was with Y/N taking drinks from the Vendo machine.” Yuta claimed. “You even asked her to buy coffee for the two of you, didn’t you?” He said while pointing at the two girls. This is really unfair. You trusted her. You thought they’re your friends. “Are you happy making someone cry?” You lightly glanced at Yuta, why does he look so agitated? “Shouldn’t you apologize to Y/N?”
Both girls looked at you with tears in their eyes, apologizing and saying that they’re just jealous. They didn’t explain further but that left you startled. Jealous of what?
After class, you thanked Kun who helped you but he only laughed. “It was all Yuta’s idea,” he claimed. “That guy might have liked you. I now understand why those girls are jealous of you.”
You were curious. They’re jealous because of Yuta? Yuta likes you? You shook your head. That’s impossible. “Hey!” someone called, running to where you are. You didn’t realize that the train was already in front of you. “Aren’t you coming in?” Yuta was already inside the train, looking at you confused.
Just one step and you’ll board the same train as him but you can’t make that step.
No. He can’t like you, right? You’re friends. It’s just not possible.
If he rides the train, he doesn’t like you. If he stays, he might like you.
“I forgot something.” You whispered. The signal that the doors will close came and you closed your eyes. ‘Please get off the train, Yuta.’
You heard the distant sound of the departing train followed by someone tapping your shoulder. “Y/N, are you alright?” Yuta. “Are you feeling alright?”
“Why did you get off?”
He looked surprised. “You asked me to get off.” What? You did? “Let’s go back to school and get that thing you forgot.”
It isn’t possible. He doesn’t like you like that. Right?
You held his hand, stopping him from walking further. “Yuta, thank you for helping me with the funds earlier.”
He smiled, shaking his head. He stepped forward, tucking a hair behind your ear. “If you want to cry next time, you can come to me. I’ll listen to you, whatever it is.” He hummed and you nodded, thanking him again. “Let’s go back to school.”
And as he turned his back to you. You realized, you already made the decision you wanted to believe in.
You don’t care if Yuta likes you now. Because one thing is for sure.
You like Yuta.
