How old are you?
As someone who began using the Internet in the early 2000s I learned very quickly/was taught never to share my age, name, or location on the internet and even in this day of social media I still maintain that privacy by not publicly posting my exact age, birthday, legal name, or location✌🏻

Defense of The Hidden World.
This is my first time posting here in ages but I’ve been working on an essay in defense of HTTYD 3. Some of the possible responses I’ve seen against arguments defending the movie will be answered throughout. (warning this is long, like, ridiculously long so if you don’t read this then I completely understand. I just wanted a place to formulate and explain my opinion.
Hiccup and Toothless’ relationship proved that a genuine, unflinchingly honest and unconditional love could exist between humans and dragons. It proved to the world that co-existence was possible, but maybe not yet. However the main thing that I found to be so profound about THW was that even though they loved each other, they were both willing to explore their own identities separate from each other. Once Toothless found the Lightfury, he re-discovered what it meant to be a dragon. Not a domesticated dragon but a pure, natural dragon. He found that he had instincts that he never knew he had. For instance, he tries to do a mating dance by himself as well as the simple fact that he was so in love with the Light Fury. So when he wanted to mate with the light fury he turned to Hiccup for advice (third date scene) because not only did he not know what to do, but he had seen Hiccup getting closer with Astrid over the years and now that he finally found someone else, he wanted advice on how to handle it. That just shows the love between them. Yes, Hiccup made mistakes in the movie in terms of how he handled Toothless getting with the Lightfury. He was anxious and felt as if he needed to be there to protect him so he desperately tried to halt Grimmel and the armada’s advance without Toothless because he knew he had to do something. However he failed at this and caused Ruffnut to be captured. This causes him to feel like he can’t lead properly without Toothless. He has always doubted whether he’s worthy, but this time he genuinely feels as if he doesn’t know who he is without Toothless. This is confirmed when Astrid and Valka have that brief conversation after Hiccup storms off (after they’ve returned from Grimmel’s tower) and they say:
“He thinks he has to lead alone, well, because his father had to. He doesn’t realize the strength you have together. Do you still believe in him?” - Valka
“Of course, I wish he did. But he thinks he’s nothing without Toothless.” - Astrid
“Then help him realize the truth” - Valka
This comes to a head when Grimmel had just captured Toothless, the Lightfury, and all of Berk’s dragons and he has flown off. Hiccup and Astrid have that conversation on the cliff and while the entire conversation is so so so damn important and powerful, there is one quote that sums it up:
“You are the bravest, most stubborn, determined, knucklehead I know. Toothless didn’t give you that Hiccup. He just-” - Astrid
“-made it easier” - Hiccup
All of this works so magnificently because the film has been able to show that both Hiccup and Toothless now have different goals in life. It’s just so beautiful how the film allows both characters to explore and accept their own identities without having any grievances towards each other in the process. Even though Hiccup is anxious about Toothless leaving him, it doesn’t mean he resents him for it. He is just concerned for his best friend’s safety out in the wild.
When that final scene of them saying goodbye comes along, it’s so impactful because they both realize that while obviously they could just all stay as they are and nothing would change, that wouldn’t be the right thing to do at this point. While Hiccup (and the audience) want to see the message at the end of HTTYD 2 fulfilled where the world could be changed into a dragon-human paradise, it isn’t realistic, no matter how much we believe it could happen.
“Doesn’t this go against the themes of the franchise?”
In a way, yes. But also it was the only real CONCLUSION the characters could have come to. I mean, what else was there to learn about the world other than the fact that trying to create a dragon/human paradise isn’t sustainable forever. They were able to create one on Berk but that didn’t last. People will always continue to try and disrupt this way of life. Evil people like Grimmel will always be around to exploit dragon-kind for their own nefarious goals.
“But isn’t that the point? To always fight and stand up for the dragons and not give up by sending them away to some other place?”
Well your not wrong, but isn’t allowing them to live in a paradise where they will never be harmed by other humans ever again worth it? Isn’t it worth it to find peace without the need for war? Isn’t that what a chief is supposed to do?
“A chief protects his own” That’s the point. It IS a sacrifice. Because even though the Berkians may consider the dragons as their own, they aren’t. They are still independent dragons. (I give an example of this later on in the form of a deleted scene) It’s a sacrifice of the idealistic views that the second movie explored. Even that movie proved that consequences would come from actively trying to change the entire world’s view. However it shouldn’t (and didn’t) dissuade the Berkians from trying to continue to live in peace with their dragons.
Also I just want to bring up the fact that some people have drawn parallels between this movie and certain aspects of real life. I understand, but that isn’t the story that is being told. The metaphors did get pretty muddled sadly but I can assure you that isn’t the intent behind the movie. So if you have any ill will towards the movie because of that then I’m sorry that was the message that you took away from it. Just know that wasn’t the intention and wasn’t the story being told.
Hiccup, who had now become chief, actively tried to save the dragons that were in captivity or being harmed by the hunters and warlords of the world. Instead of trying to change their minds (and Grimmel’s mind) like he tried to do with Drago in HTTYD 2, he actively tries to sabotage their activities of caging and using dragons and bringing them back to Berk so they could be safe. However, by the opening of the third movie, it is clear that Berk has become overcrowded.
“But couldn’t they have spread out?”
Well, a deleted scene confirms they did by referencing their “nest in the north” so it’s clear that they had spread out. But Berk was their main settlement and they couldn’t maintain dozens of other settlements full of dragons 24/7.
Wait but couldn’t they have asked other friendly civilizations like the Berserkers or the Wingmadens to look after them and follow in Berk’s example?
Yeah of course, but eventually they would run into the same problem as Berk did at the beginning of the third movie. If they kept bring back dragons to Berk or any other dragon friendly civilization, then eventually they would get overcrowded. It may take a while but the possibility of it happening is pretty large.
“Nah doesn’t make sense. That wouldn’t happen because they would all just defend their islands/civilizations against their enemies like they have done for the entire TV series.”
...Once again, it’s not sustainable. That’s why the Hidden World exists. It’s a place where the dragons can live totally out of reach and where they can be safe.
“Oh but the whole idea of the Hidden World is contrived bullshit just made up to move the plot along.”
Couldn’t Frodo and the Fellowship just use the eagles to fly all the way to Mount Doom so he could drop the ring in and call it a day? What’s the reason there? So the plot could happen? Hmmm. But in all seriousness though I don’t have anything against LOTR and in fact it’s one of my favorite series besides HTTYD. Also they couldn’t have used the eagles because on the way the Black Riders who were on the dragons would have taken them out. Also they could have been shot down- oKAY back to the Hidden World. The idea of the Hidden World is kind of contrived but at the same time it is using the lack of an established explanation of where the dragons actually came from and utilizing it.
“But they would have just been on the surface the whole time?”
As I said, there is a lack of an explanation. So why not? why not delve deeper into the lore of the dragons. The idea of Hiccup discovering the ancestral home of all dragons is awesome! It doesn’t conflict with anything previously established in terms of where they came from because there is no explanation.
“What about Vanaheim, the eternal resting place of all dragons from RTTE?”
Good point, but that doesn’t mean that the dragons couldn’t have lived and evolved underground and then come up to the surface and gone to Vanaheim. I mean, obviously not every dragon was in the Hidden World so it would have been easier for them to just travel there but I don’t see this as a massive issue though.
“Why does Hiccup say “The world believes the dragons are gone” in the epilogue if just Berk’s dragons left.”
This is a really solid point so I’ll do my best with this one but at the same time, it is a really good point. I imagine that by the time the third movie comes around, Berk had become such a safe haven for dragons that you could say most of the world’s dragons resided on Berk. But this is kind of flimsy too and doesn’t exactly make sense. The way I see it, this is a valid “plot hole” but at the same time I don’t really care? I don’t know for me it was just an emotional way of putting the ending of the film into words. I don’t have a valid explanation for it but whenever I watch the film I just roll with it because I’m already wrapped up in the emotion of it all that I just don’t care, and to be honest I’m glad I don’t. That’s just me though. If you have an issue with this then I totally understand because dragons like the Buffalord or the Eruptadon can’t exactly leave their islands sooooo yea...
“The Hidden World conflicts with established lore of the whole series.”
I’m pretty sure this is referring to Grimmel killing all the Nightfuries and Stoick not telling Hiccup about it. To be honest this is the plot hole that I’ve tried to patch up but can’t find a reasonable explanation for. However, it’s one of those tiny discrepancies for me that doesn’t hurt or hinder my enjoyment or engagement with the trilogy.
“Why was the armada defeated so quickly? As Valka said, there were probably over 100 ships. How did the Dragon Riders defeat an entire fleet of ships so quickly?”
Well, most of the ships were on fire by the end of the final battle and all of the dragons had been freed by that point. Also, Astrid managed to reach the wheel of the main barge and lock it into position so it would crash into the ships beside it and take multiple of them out. So we can infer that not only are all of the dragons free, but also pretty much all of the ships have been set alight and are now in the process of burning down and sinking.
“What about the Warlords?”
Ragnar the rock (the big guy) gets chased off and supposedly eaten by the Hobgobblers and the other two get trapped in a cage that slides down the front deck of their ship (because Astrid caused the ship to crash into the other ones) and traps them in it. So basically all 3 warlords are incapacitated or dead.
Ok back to the main point from a few paragraphs back lol: Berk was overcrowded and they needed a solution. Hiccup knew that something had to be done so when he was standing in the same quiet spot where his father told him a mystical tale of a hidden dragon world, it causes him to think about whether it was real or not. Could that be the solution? They would be able to stay with the dragons in the hidden world because they were dragon loving people (that’s Hiccup’s logic.) However, when Grimmel arrives and berates him about his view of dragons and Berk’s way of life. Hiccup stands up to him because he has defended Berk’s way of life from far worse than a mere lone dragon hunter. But after Hiccup experiences the terror and destruction that this one hunter could cause on his home, he now fully realizes that they need to leave Berk because they are not only overcrowded but now they have a ruthless hunter ready to return at any point and cause more destruction upon Berk; possibly even killing many of his people including himself and definitely Toothless. It’s a long shot but he decides that if Berk wants to live in peace with their dragons then they need to disappear into the hidden world where the warlords and their armada along with Grimmel can’t ever find them again. They will be safe forever. It will be a human/dragon paradise that will be untouched.
Another question that comes up is:
“Well why can’t they stand and fight. That should be the message. That their ideological views would not waver because some more people threaten their home with war.”
That’s a fair judgement to be honest, however, as Hiccup learnt in the second film from his father: “Berk is what you need to worry about, a chief protects his own” - Stoick.
In a deleted scene from the third movie, it has this exchange between Hiccup and Valka:
“I know, I know, he has to win her over but I’m telling you, once she (the Lightfury) moves in it’ll all be perfect” - Hiccup
“Eret and I returned from the scout, Berk was burned to the ground” - Valka
“At least everyone’s safe” - Hiccup
“For now” - Valka
“No one can find us here” - Hiccup
“That’s what I used to believe, Hiccup, but they’ve found our nest in the far north too. Greedy humans, will always find a way” - Valka
“I don’t believe that” - Hiccup
“I...I know it might be hard for you to accept, but the dream that you and I yearn for, you know, this untouchable dragon utopia, I fear it just doesn’t exist. I mean, maybe in the end the dragons are safer in the wild.” - Valka
“What, with crazy people like Grimmel around?” - Hiccup
“The more dragons we bring back, the bigger of a target we all become” - Valka
“But they’re safer with us. We protect them” - Hiccup
“And we’ll continue to do so, but I fear for their safety in these large numbers. Tame dragons are more vulnerable to humans. Their trust in us becomes their weakness. In the wild, they’re better adapted to protect themselves” - Valka
“A chief protects his own, that’s what Dad always said” - Hiccup
“And he was right. But as much as we love our dragons Hiccup, they are not our own. There’s a fine line between being a protector and a captor. I only ask that you think about it” - Valka
The fact that this is a deleted scene is really frustrating because it put the themes that the movie is trying to explore into proper dialogue. Valka understands that moving around with this massive amount of dragons isn’t safe for anyone. If they were to be released into the wild then they could have a better chance at surviving. Even though the dragons will still be at danger in the wild, that’s the point of the hidden world. The dragons can live there together in complete and total safety.
Once Hiccup and Astrid discover the Hidden World and find that Toothless has settled in with the Lightfury and is safe and comfortable, he then realizes that it wouldn’t be fair to try and bring him back to New Berk. He’s found a home away from the troubles of the world. He doesn’t have to be afraid anymore. He can have a family in the peace and safety of the Hidden World as well as being surrounded by his own kind. On top of this realization, Hiccup and Astrid get attacked by a wild dragon and have to try and flee. When Toothless sees this he flies to protect his friend and take them back to New Berk where THEY will be safe, not him. As a result of this, Hiccup not only comes to the conclusion that humans aren’t meant for the Hidden World, but he finally understands what Valka was trying to tell him earlier (in that deleted scene.) The dragons WOULD be safer there. I mean, sure. They could stay up there at New Berk and they could continue to live life as they always have. But then what? What happens when another Grimmel comes around and manages to inflict worse upon Berk’s population. When will Hiccup be able to solve the entire world. The answer is, he can’t. But he can allow for the dragons to live in the Hidden World. He can give them a life where they can never be harmed again. Isn’t this better?
A statement that may come from this is that:
“Oh but that means Grimmel won. The villain literally won. What the fuck, this is so disgusting and disappointing. How can anyone like this?”
Those people are free the feel that way. However, he didn’t win. Not entirely. Yes, he completely opposed co-existence to the point where he would gladly kill any dragon to prove that point. He wants the world to continue killing dragons because that is a fundamental aspect of who he is. It proves to him that he is right. He is the self-proclaimed Nightfury Killer. But this still doesn’t mean that he wins in the end. Yes, dragons and humans do have to separate. But Grimmel’s ultimate goal was to kill all of the dragons. Wipe them off the face of the earth. From a certain perspective, he achieves this because dragons do have to live in the Hidden World away from humans, but that doesn’t mean he won. They are all still alive aren’t they? He failed in his mission to kill them. He failed in killing Toothless. He failed at his one purpose in life. So no, he didn’t win in the end. There is a difference between a villain totally and completely winning against the heroes like Thanos did at the end of Infinity War, and this, where Grimmel not only died as a result of his flawed and evil ideals but did not get to carry out the goal that made him who he is. The dragons leaving was a choice made by Hiccup. It was a sacrifice made out of love. If Grimmel was to win, then he would have had to kill Toothless and either see all the dragons locked away in cages for the rest of their lives or for them to be killed too. I could go on and on about this point in particular but I’ll stop here.
Once the final battle begins, Hiccup isn’t fighting to free the dragons so they can continue to live on in a peaceful dragon utopia like they did in HTTYD 2, he is fighting for their survival. So by the end of the battle when Grimmel is holding onto Hiccup, who is holding onto the Lightfury, he knows that the only option to save Toothless from falling to his doom is to take the harness off the Lightfury, releasing her from the power of the Death gripper venom and let go, causing Hiccup along with Grimmel, to fall to their deaths. This is the ultimate act of love. This is what the whole trilogy has been building to because for years Hiccup has remained adamant that Toothless and him belonged together. Hiccup would always be there to protect Toothless and Toothless would always be there to protect Hiccup. But after all this time of Hiccup learning that Toothless will be safe with the Lightfury in the Hidden World, he has the courage to let go and sacrifice himself for his best friend.
After the Lightfury has saved him and all of Berk reunite with their dragons. Hiccup and Toothless both realize that after all this time of the two co-depending on each other, it’s time for them to fulfil their own destinies of being the leader of their respective tribes.
“I was so busy fighting for a world that I wanted, I didn’t think about what you needed.” - Hiccup.
This quote clearly demonstrates Hiccup’s deeper understanding of the implications that come with his evolving emotional maturity. For him to fully grow up and become to true leader of Berk, he needs to learn to let go of his best friend. He needs to grow up. Some may call this contrived and/or unnecessary however I don’t see it that way in the slightest. The Hidden World is, as Hiccup puts it earlier in the film “a secret land at the edge of the world where dragons lived totally out of reach.” So when the dragons have the option of living in a place where they are totally safe from the outside world, then why wouldn’t they take that. (I’m honestly repeating myself at this point but I don’t care.) For Hiccup to fully be able to step into the role as the wise and selfless chief that he was always destined to become, he needed to learn the valuable lesson of letting go. If he didn’t, then he would never be able to see things from a new, better and wiser perspective. He would never be able to grow as an individual, thus possibly impacting how he rules Berk and how he deals with situations that come with being chief. He has always relied on Toothless for his strength as a person, friend, and leader, but by the end of the Hidden World, he realizes that his true strength lies within himself and Astrid. Here’s a conversation from HTTYD 2 to support this:
(Between Astrid and Hiccup towards the beginning)
“I’m not like you Astrid, you know exactly who you are, you always have but...I’m still looking. I know that I’m not my father, and I never met my mother so...what does that make me?” - Hiccup
“What your searching for, isn’t out there Hiccup. It’s in here.*points to his chest* Maybe you just don’t see it yet” - Astrid
By allowing themselves to fulfil their own personal destinies of discovering their own identities along with finding their own loved ones, they are able to say goodbye to each other and live ‘together from afar.’ The dragons will be safe, and Berk will be safe. But, even though the world believes the dragons are gone, the Berkians know otherwise. And they’ll guard the secret until the time comes when dragons can return in peace...
Also the track titled ‘Once there were Dragons’ is a fucking astonishing piece of music that every human on the being on the planet needs to listen to. Anyway thank you so much for reading this if you did. I’ve been struggling with how to present my thoughts and feelings towards this epic conclusion but I’ve been a little afraid to. I tried to on reddit but when people offered extensive constructive criticism towards the points I made, I didn’t exactly take it too well. Maybe that’s because I was getting over a hangover when I read most of it but that doesn't matter because I still didn’t handle it well. But I’ve learnt from that and chosen to take that criticism on board and now that I’ve been able to formulate my opinion the best I can, I’ve used those points they made and tried to analyze them too instead of just ignoring and flat out hand-waiving them. Anyway, if you disagree with anything I’ve said here then that’s totally cool and I’d be happy to listen to your opinions. Still thanks for reading.

I've seen weird dreams every night now for a while. Last night? The same thing. Here goes.
At first I was going to be crushed by dad's stallion. He just tried to lay on me and kill me (don't know why!). Dad managed to save me, but his fiance then started to keep asking me to come inside. She was worried and I get it, but I was too much in shock and tears. I told her to leave me alone.
I walked on this small shore and wanted to go for a swim, but first I saw small green lizard (from dinosaur times) drinking at the shore. Didn't want to scare it but it ran off anyway after drinking. Then I spotted few frogs swimming inside of a "well's ring" which was at the shore for a some reason. Suddenly I saw 2 light khaki colored snakes swimming towards me. It was mom and baby. Mom snake instantly attacked on me, biting me multiple times on both of my wrists. I knew this snake was very poisonous so I tried to toss it away while getting out of the water, but it managed to keep scratching my skin on my wrists. Since the snake hadn't managed to break my flesh with any of her bites, I thought maybe I didn't get any of her poison in me.
I went back to dad and her fiance. There was now 2 of my aunts and my grandmother (tho she didn't look the same as she does in this life). My other aunt said my granny has 3... Something (minute, hour, day, week, month, year) to live. I just went "hhm" when dad pointed my other aunt. She has been in a surgery. Both of her breasts had old dry blood and LOTS of stitches, there was long cuts with stitches on her sides and long cross shaped cut with stitches in the middle of her stomach. Dad told me there had been huge tumor in her which had eat lots of muscles from the inside. Again I was like "hhm".
Now dad's fiance noticed my wrists, looking at them, forcing me to go see a doctor. So I left - with 2 men who were her friends and now my guides, making sure I would go see a doctor. However I never saw their faces and the feeling... They were both nice, yes, but they didn't feel like they were humans. They felt more like they were characters from a game, a movie or anime. I still feel them and they have similar vibe to the elves in LOTR. Taller of them was more steady, silent and calm with his long silverish hair, while the other one kept talking a lot, having great sense of humor. And while he was more "wild", he was still steady too.
We walked through a house, ending up in mustard colored room upstairs. I stood another side of the bed when a third person came in, tossing some clothes on the bed, handing me some things what I could - and should - use to tie my hair with. He said they had antidote in them and by wearing them, they would remove the poison from my system. I still felt fine, but I decided to obey since he felt like a guy who would chew your head off if you didn't do what he ordered you to do since he took your wellbeing seriously - even that he acted all cold and grumpy.
I first tried to tie my hair on a ponytail. Couldn't do it. I then started to put on the shirt, but 1. It had many layers so it was hell confusing and 2. I still had my old shirt on. I started to giggle like if I was little tipsy as I opened my hoodie's zipper, trying to get my bra off. I said: "I almost dropped my bra."
Taller "elf" just stood by my side, not saying or doing anything while the shorter and younger one (he had spiky orange hair, reminding me of Gan Ning) reached his hand over the bed, grabbing on my right breasts. His face when he realized my breast(s) were real instead of fake ones! He looked a bit disappointed :'D like he didn't believe boobs can be big naturally! I even giggled at him, saying him that and he just groaned!
I managed to get the shirt on, looking the sky and clouds through window while laughing a bit. I said: "I don't know is it the poison, am I just too tired or is it them both together."
After calming down I looked at the small place outside. It was like a small English outdoor railway station with few small houses around it. Earlier I had seen people there, some shape-shifting to keep their identity hidden. On top of it, what I had heard someone talking, was that there was an evil force which was keeping their eyes on the place. Apparently because they knew I was either coming there or was there. Anyway! As I stared dark gray clouds passing the window by, smaller black cloud floated there with greater speed. I remember saying "a black cloud" and it instantly stopped, turning to look at me. I realized it was the evil force so I threw myself on the floor, flat on my stomach, but I heard it coming through the window, standing by my side. He spoke something to the "elves" who were with me, but I didn't hear the words clearly. When I tried to turn to look over my shoulder and see him, I was in another place.
In this place I was with sis and we both were going to see some employment office workers as well as a doctor. I had to charge my phone and when I did that, I saw a message from employment office that they will pay me 4 euros. I don't know why, but I was okay with it. Then I went to some desk to talk with a lady. It was over in few seconds and when I was leaving, she yelled after me, giving me "a egg map" for next Easter!... Okay...? :'D Next I met with sis but she was still waiting to see a doctor.
And that's when I woke up.

Evan Evagora did an AMA involving the Star Trek Shitposting Facebook Group - the questions and answers below were copy/pasted direct from the collated master post. Evan is a member of the group, who participates under an unknown pseudonym.
———————————————
AMA Master Post!
Thanks so much to Evan Evagora for taking time out of his day for our AMA earlier. To make the questions and answers easier for ya'll to find, here they all are together below.
Q: How does my love of cats compare to Elnor?
A: Im actually more of a dog person, there was a scene that had Elnor and spot 2 unite briefly but unfortunately it didn’t leave the editing room
Q: How familiar was I with Star Trek before and did I have to do research?
A: I grew up with TNG, I’d have to say either worf, Guinan or Q are my favourite characters. And I was given episodes to watch that were to help with information before filming Picard
Q: How was I prepped to deal with the crazy fans?
A: I got told to join Star Trek shitposting 😉. Not but in all seriousness, it was Jonathan Frakes who gave me advice on entering the world of fandom from the other side and he said it’s been nothing short of a pleasure
Q: So if Hugh had survived would they have made out?
A: what happens on the cube stays on the cube
Q: My favourite moment of s1
A: getting to slice that romulans head off
Q: How did I hear about Star Trek shitposting?
A: most of the crew is either a part of the group or knows about, one of the amazing hair and make up ladies got me into I think my first or second day
Q: If I had to be Tuvixed with someone excluding elnor?
A: mirror verse Elnor, nah worf to be honest
Q: What is something I’d like to do in season 2
A: Id like to see Elnor and spot 2 together
Q: How am I passing my time woth quarantine?
A: ama for the gronp! Nah I’ve just been reading, writing and also the contact I’m having with the fans too has really helped a lot
Q: If I had to quarantine with any of my costars who would it be and why
A: I’d go with hardy treadaway he’s got the nicest place
Q: What am I hoping to see in Elnor’s future
A: Inner peace, contentment and possibly shorter hair?
Q: Am I intimidated by working on a show with such a big fan base?
A: no I grew up with Star Trek, you’re really in a bubble of filming when you’re making the show, it all didn’t really hit home until the first trailer at San Diego
Q: Would I consider playing Elnor as non binary
A: I’ve seen a lot of debate and discussion about not only my character but others in the series, if there is something that connects you with a character on this show and it resonates with you, even if it’s shown, not shown or hinted at I’m all for it. I am not for the constant belittlement, bullying and criticism of not only the characters on the show but also other fans. It really does break my heart reading comments where people aren’t welcoming of one another, because that is the whole reason why Trek has bought so many together and by spewing these disgusting cruel words out your not only showing the world you don’t understand the meaning behind the show, you also are destroying the thing that makes us all love it
Q: Is there Australia on romulas
A: yeah they have a down under I’m sure of it. No the accent can easily be explained with, Elnor left romulas at a young age, moved to a planet with different species and languages spoken so that influenced his accent
Q: Have I seen Elnor fan fiction and art?
A: yeah some of it has been really amazing! And some others have been...creative
Q: How excited am I to make home movies with my action figures?
A: my plan is to buy everyone’s, make them record audio and then film shit using the dolls and their voices
Q: Are you playing animal crossing?
A: I’ve preordered it because they’ve sold out here in aus, but in playing civ 6 to pass time and Mario party
Q: Did I get to try Romulan ale?
A: no I wish, I’m kind of hoping for a scene next year where Elnor gets drunk for the first time
Q: What character did I wish would appear in our show?
A: one word, one letter Q
Q: What’s my background have I been acting long?
A: Picard was my third acting gig, and the first project to release, so I have got some experience acting and I have previous work but it has either just aired or is going to next year
Q: Please my friend choose a charity you would like us to donate to
A: food bank
Q: Favourite ninja turtle
A: it’s always been Raph and always will be
Q: Do I know much about Elnors background
A: I know things that haven’t been mentioned yet, but also given his character is new and season 1 just finished, hopefully some of those things are explored
Q: How would o feel about the fan theory that Spock is my father
A: I mean, I’m not really sure, I can always shoot Ethan a message and ask him what he thinks too
Q: Which classic episode trope would I like to see?
A: mirror universe
Q: Can we look forward to more ninja representation?
A: is Elnor not enough? ☹️
Q: Were there any particular characters I drew inspiration from, any elves?
A: there’s a particular group of people I think Elnor might have been inspired from. Can I just say how cool it would be if Elnor is just cosplaying as an elf because Picard left him a copy of Lotr when he was young
Q: Would I be open to exploring Elnors sexuality in s2 and what would it be?
A: I am totally open for that, and as for Elnors sexuality, I’m not sure he’s only 17 he’s just left his planet and gone off on an adventure where he openly knew the success may lead in his death or others he hasn’t had time to figure himself out so seeing his sexuality explored would be amazing
Q: What stories did you hear about working on precious trek series from the OG actors?
A; So we found out Michael Dorn used to muddle his lines up because he was normally the last close up of the day. They used to put bets on to see how many takes he’d have to do. All I must add in very fun spirits nothing ever malicious or mean
Q: My long term career goals
A: id like to keep pursuing more roles I’m acting, I’m a big writer and have some projects I’m looking at getting created but right now I’d say I’m just here to learn and grow
Q: What do I write?
A: right now I’m working on three screenplays and two pilots most of the stuff I’ve written is just sitting on my hard drive just waiting to be used
Q: Ever fried an egg, buttered and vegemite'd some toast and eaten it like a sandwich?
A: what I just read, scared the crap out of me, I love vegemite but the most I’ll do is add cheese to it
Q: What is one of my favourite stories about s1
A: Jeri Ryan and I had a scene together in the borg cube (what a queen she made!) it was shooting at night and I think it was the final shot of the day, we couldn’t keep a straight face and just laughed through about fifteen takes
Q: Are you a big fan of fandom besides Trek?
A: Star Wars, lotr, the magician series Raymond e feist, a song of fire and ice series, avatar last air bender and legend of Korra (would love to play zuko) and of course Batman (fav Jason Todd as the hood)
Q: Could I see myself playing Elnor for six or seven years?
A: as long as there’s a good story that myself and fans will enjoy, but if it didn’t meet my expectations no. And also hopefully the writers and creators would want to
Q: My top TNG eps are in no particular order
I borg, all good things, tapestry, the measure of a man and all good things
I’ll also add I borg especially because it’s just cool seeing where Hugh began and how he ended up
Q: How did I land the role of Elnor?
A: I was on a break from filming Fantasy Island (a movie based off the old tv show) and I was home for pilot season which is when they cast for shows, I had two weeks of daily auditions before I was due to fly back and start filming again, two days before I was meant to leave I got an audition for Picard, the script had a code name and Elnors name was Kbar on it, but I was told it was Star Trek. I went into the room and thought I didn’t do a very good job, then I flew to film and two days later I was told I’ve made a list of people being considered, after a few more auditions and a couple of phone calls from producers and everything I found myself on a plane to LA five weeks later
Q: Have I made friends among the cast?
A: no, we tried really hard to become friends, but unfortunately we ended up becoming a family instead. Everything we say in interviews about us getting along is all true and not fake. I’m the newest to acting out of everyone so I was kind of of shocked to find out that how close we all are isn’t necessarily how it will be when I shoot other projects, so I think we just got lucky or they casted really well
Q: Have the Picard people seen your memes?
A: yes I’ve shown them the memes from the page, I’ve shown everyone including Patrick we find most of them funny (some shocking)
Not shocking in a bad way
Unexpected I should say
Q: How do I feel about the ears?
A: I wore them so much they came up in my dreams, but they were the easiest thing to apply onto me
Q: Which non tng character would I like to see return?
A: I wouldn’t mind seeing the doctor
Q: The most relatable Star Trek character?
A: Look for me growing up it was Wesley, i just picked anyone who was the young one. And I grew up with my sisters and was always being told I’m either wrong, an idiot or just to shut up
Q: Did I have previous martial arts experience before the show?
A: I have a background in boxing which helps when it comes to movement, reflexes and just all around fitness for stunts. I didn’t have any sword fighting experience before we began training for the show however
Q: How do you think being raised by an order of women affected Elnor?
A: I think it gave him a healthy understanding of not only the strength and resilience of women but I think he understands not only gender equality but just equality in general and I think that’s directly to do with growing up in a sect of all female warrior nuns
Q: What is a type of meme you would like to see more of in the group?
A: I love all the memes in the group, I hardly like any of them now incase someone figures out who I am though ahahah
Q: Favorite recent memes?
A: See my comment below

Nerd - Gerard Way x Reader
Request: Hi! I miss you 💕💕 When you're back, could you write about Dallon or Gerard meeting a nerdy reader? She is out with friends, and sarcastically says sth like "yeah, 'cause a girl who daily references LotR, Doctor Who and other stuff is every guy's dream." He overhears, and starts: "Actually..." Thanks and have a lovely holiday ✨✨✨😉
Reader: female
Warnings: fandom references, many of them
Word count: 1 843
Even though it was one of the bars in town that was on the fancier side, people still dressed pretty normally. At least the guys did. But most of the females in the room were wearing skirts and dresses that seemed to be several numbers too small so short that you wondered how they sat down without the skirt riding up so far that too much skin was exposed. But maybe that was the whole point. You did not really know much about these things. The only thing that you knew was that people did not like it when you said that their skirts were shorter than those of the uniform dresses in Star Trek OS. So you kept that comment to yourself, while you pulled on the sleeves of your cropped “Wings of Freedom” jacket, the latest treasure in your collection of merchandise.
Going out with your friends was never as easy as you would have liked. They were, just like the other women in the bar, dressed in these terribly tight clothes, and you, dressed in a soft, fitting, dark shirt with a tiny TARDIS pattern, some skinny jeans, sneakers, said cropped jacket, and an Evening Star necklace, stood out like a torch in a dark forest.
You knew your friends did not mind. They had been out with you before, and they knew this was the fanciest you could dress for a relaxed night out. But you had been very aware of the stares from other people in the room, men and women alike.
“(Y/n),” one of your friends called over the small table on which the group was seated, trying to get your attention over the loud music that played on the dancefloor, “spotted anyone you like already?”
You grinned, knowing Grace would absolutely love to set you up. The beautiful girl had braided her curly black hair to the side, wore metallic green eyeliner and a matching dress that sparkled beautifully against her dark skin. You loved how easy it seemed for her to put herself out there, and sometimes you wondered if you could do that too, if you had more self-confidence. After all, the lack thereof was probably the main reason you were hiding behind your merchandise.
Trying to answer her question, your eyes skipped through the room, trying to find the man again who had drawn your attention to himself earlier. Now he was sitting at the bar, a strand of his almost shoulder long, raven black hair brushed behind his ear. He was sipping from what looked like a glass of water, in the other hand holding a pen, and fumbling around with it.
You nodded into the direction of the guy, very well aware that someone as attractive as him could directly look at you, and still not see you.
Grace turned her head, following your eyes, and nodded approvingly.
“He’s cute,” she stated.
You nodded, embarrassedly turning your eyes away.
“Wanna go and talk to him?”
“What? No, no way,” you quickly answered, looking up at her alarmed.
“Alright, alright, chill,” she laughed.
“Hey, would you like to dance?”
A man had approached Grace from behind, the third one this night. You wondered how some girls like Grace seemed to pull people in, while you always seemed to repulse them.
“Sorry, I’m not in the mood right now,” Grace answered friendly but firm, “Later maybe.”
The guy nodded and trotted off again.
“Should we go get some more drinks,” she asked you, motioning to you empty glass, “we could go talk to Mister Mysterious over there as well.”
You groaned.
“Come on, you know how that will go. No offence, but I don’t even have the splinter of a chance with you next to me. Not to mention, that a girl who daily references Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Doctor Who and other stuff is every guy’s dream.”
You rolled your eyes and shook your head, wanting to add how you talking to that guy would never happen, when suddenly a voice sounded from behind of you.
“Well, actually…”
You turned around, more reflex than anything, and stared up into brilliant hazel eyes. It was the man who you had watched while he had been sitting at the bar, but the conversation with Grace had distracted you, so you had not noticed that he had gotten up. The strand of hair which had been brushed behind his ear had fallen into his face again, and the way he was fidgeting with the pen he was still holding gave away that he was somewhat nervous, which relieved you to a certain degree. Also the fact that he wore a washed out Star Wars t-shirt managed to settle some of your nerves right away.
The conversations around the table had died down, everybody expectantly watching the scene unfold. After all, it was the first time in all the nights they had been out with you, that someone had tried to chat you up.
Honestly, you were at a loss for words. You were not sure if that was because the man in front of you was just seriously beautiful, because all of a sudden you had been approached by someone, or if it was because he had basically said that a nerdy girl like you could be someone’s dream girl. But whatever the reason, you could not find an answer, or just anything to say really; so you sat there, somewhat helplessly, blinking up at him.
The man smiled slightly, apparently not minding your speechlessness.
“Your drink is empty, may I invite you for a new one?”
Before you could even answer, another friend next to you, Carol, encouragingly nudged you, tearing you out of the haze you momentarily been in.
“Oh, yes, that would be great,” you quickly answered, standing up from your chair.
“I’m Gerard, by the way,” he introduced himself, offering you his hand.
“(Y/n),” you replied.
He nodded thoughtfully.
“It fits you,” he decided, before suddenly blushing, realizing what he had said. “Shall we… get drinks?”
He lead you over to the bar, where he found two chairs for the two of you, before he asked what you would like to drink, ordering the same for himself as well.
“So… you are well acquainted with fan culture, I see,” he said, nodding to your clothes.
“Yes, I-“ nervously you reached for the Evening Star necklace, wrapping your fingers around it, “it’s like… I don’t really know, it’s like-“
“A protection from reality?”
You nodded, smiling shyly at Gerard’s comment.
“Yeah, exactly. Just, some worlds to feel safe in, you know, where heroes will always safe the day.”
“I totally feel you,” Gerard agreed, “you should have seen my locker in high school; it was a Lord-of-the-Rings-Star-Wars-Doctor-Who shrine.”
“I’d pay to see that,” you laughed, feeling the nervousness slowly melt away. Gerard seemed to understand you, seemed to get why these fictional worlds were so important to you.
“Fascinating,” he giggled at your response, making you crook your head.
“Was that Star Trek reference intentional,” you wondered, narrowing your eyes at him, making him laugh lightheartedly.
“Take an educated guess,” he challenged, nudging your knee with his.
“You’re a nerd,” you answered, rolling your eyes at him.
“Says the one with the TARDIS shirt,” he defended, laughing.
“Says the one with the two decades old Star Wars shirt,” you kept going, poking his chest.
“Okay, that is true,” Gerard gave in, giggling.
Just in that moment the bar tender brought over your drinks, and Gerard handed you one.
“May the force be with you,” you spoke, raising your glass for him to click his glass against yours.
“And may you live long and prosper,” he winked, gently bumping the glasses together.
The rest of the evening was filled with laughter and chatter about your favorite movies, a heated discussion about the best Star Wars Movie, anecdotes about building light sabers and Stormtrooper uniforms from when you were kids, and too many references to keep up with it (anything ranging from single word exclamations, to page long monologues).
It was well past midnight when both of you decided to call it a night. Your stomach hurt from laughing so much, and Gerard’s hair was completely disheveled from how often he had ran his fingers through it.
Both of you stepped outside into the cold night, and you wrapped your jacket, tighter around your body, feeling the napkin, on which two hours earlier Gerard had written his phone number and a doddle of himself, in your pocket press against your leg.
“So… will you call me,” he asked teasingly, but you noticed how important it was to him.
“I’ll think about it,” you grinned.
“Fantastic,” he nodded, obviously already excited.
“Yeah, yeah, alright doctor,” you laughed.
“Get home safe,” Gerard mumbled, giving you a quick hug that left you slightly blushing.
“You too, see you soon.”
Your flat was not far away, so you used the short walk to calm down from the exciting night. Gerard’s face was burned into your memories, and his giggles still rang in your ears as you walked down the dark streets.
A big illuminated display at the entrance of the cinema that was just down the street from your apartment pulled your attention to it.
“Late Night Showing of the Planet of the Apes”
A crazy idea came to your mind as you pulled out your phone and checked the time; the movie would start in ten minutes, this had to be the universe pulling a prank at you.
Without hesitation you pulled out the napkin, and dialed the numbers which Gerard had scribbled down for you.
“Gerard? It’s me, (y/n). Do you know the Starlight Cinema, five minutes away from the bar?”
Gerard on the other side of the line, agreed eagerly.
“Planet of the Apes in ten?”
“I’ll be there in five, don’t go in without me!”
You giggled at his excitement, hearing how he seemed to start hurrying while hanging up. This was crazy. But maybe you needed a bit of personal crazy in your life; you could not live vicariously through screen heroes forever.
And sure enough, five minutes after you had called him, Gerard came running down the street.
“You really waited,” he cheered, throwing his arm around your shoulder, as if you had known each other since forever. “I want popcorn and we need to share a big coke, but only one straw, so we can accidentally kiss, because you better believe that I won’t let you walk away without kissing you tonight. Because someone who calls me at half two in the morning for a late night showing of Planets of the Apes can’t just walk away like that from me.”
You laughed at his rambling, blushing at his words, but being pretty sure that you would not mind such a kiss. He held the door open for you to slip into the building.
“Okay,” you agreed, “but first we need to buy the tickets, dork.”
“I know, nerd.”

I’m rereading Harry Potter and remembering the first time I read it so let me tell you a (long) story
first time I heard about Harry Potter I wasn’t very happy because of course some stupid people were comparing with LOTR so I HATED HARRY POTTER really hated it, I had no idea what Harry Potter was I didn’t know a thing about it but because of shit people were saying I just hated. bear in mind that this was happening when LOTR was still on the theaters and The Two Towers was about to come off. that time I lived in a small town and I had no internet so I could only see LOTR trailers going to the movies so I hear Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets movie had the Two Towers trailer so what could I do? I went to the big city to watch it
oh sweet Eru how I hated that movie, I was so fucking mad, people were comparing THAT shit with LOTR NO FUCKING WAY. after that I hated Harry Potter with all I got.
two weeks before The Two Towers premiere I was paranoid that something would happen to prevent me to watch LOTR, I was desperate, my friends had a hard time to take me to go outside, one day I went out for some ice cream and as my friend and I are walking another friend came to us walking his dog (a very large black dog) and I went nuts. I started crying saying that was all a Harry Potter plan to prevent me from watching TTT (guys I had no idea about Sirius I swear)
fast forward... 2004 - my sister in law was all happy because she got the 5th Harry Potter book and I was all “eew I hate it” and then a lot of shit happened and I moved with my family to a very tiny city I used to live when I was a kid. so getting back to that city made me rediscover old friendships and my old and new again best friend was crazy about Harry Potter and she started telling me the story and I got interested but it took her months to make me give HP a chance and this happened on September 22, 2004
you may recognize the date as Frodo and Bilbo’s birthday and when I realized that I cried for hours because I was “betraying” Tolkien (don’t forget to consider my mental illnesses). after Tolkien allowing me to read HP I read the first one that day and the second one the next day but only ONE PERSON in that city had the books to lend me and he didn’t know where the third one was so my friend and I walked the entire city until we found the 3rd and 4th book. in 4 days I had read the four books and NO ONE had the 5th so of course I remembered my sister in law who lived in the other city so I called my bf at the time and asked him to BRING ME THE BOOK
and then I was there completely hooked in this amazing story waiting for the 6th book
now let’s talk about my life during all this and why I couldn’t stop reading Harry Potter
I was very ill and sad because I had to move from the city I loved and left my bf there and as you know my family is awful and I was raised by my aunt and uncle and they treated me with all kinds of abuse but I had a chance to get away from there. here in Brazil the bet universities are free and very hard to get in and I was trying to get into one of the best to go live away from my family
when I started Harry Potter I saw myself in him and being accepted in my uni was to me like going to Hogwarts, and I did
I had a cool dorm with new friends and adventures away from my abusing relatives, to me I WAS HARRY POTTER, I was respected at uni, seem like a brilliant student but when I went home I was treated like trash and abused
and at uni I found people who loved HP as well and Tolkien and I was so happy
2005 - I’m living my Harry Potter life and waiting for The Half Blood Prince to come out and my two best friends and I all curious about who would die and my friends were all “oh no spoilers” because I said I wanted to know immediatly so I would look online. on my birthday one of my best friends (btw she is still my best friend) went to my dorm crying
she says “you will never believe who dies” and I “Dumbledore” she says: “WHO TOLD YOU?” and I “I’m guessing, you mean it’s really him?” she “YES and guess who kills him?” I “SNAPE” she “HOW DO YOU KNOW” me crying “I DON’T KNOW” so we cried a lot and I told her that I bet Snape did it because Dumbledore told him to and I decided I would not wait for the translation so I went and bought it in english. I was so sure about Snape storyline that I wrote a poem called “Severus” basically foreseeing what would be published in the 7th book two years later
so I don’t know what this is and why I felt like telling you all this but this is just a tiny part of me and my love for Harry Potter, years later my first tattoo would be the Deathly Hallows symbol and that’s it
I’m going to do one of this about Tolkien someday but then it will be reaaaaally long

My fandoms and my favorite characters and ships
I’m going to talk about all my fandoms and my top one or two characters from each fandom, and my top OTP from each one, if I have any. I’m going in order from when they entered my life.
Star Trek: The Next Generation
I watched TNG when it first aired in 1987. It was my first fandom and my most time honored fandom. I literally grew up watching it as a child, until it ended in about 1994, when I was about 10. I didn’t know about ships or OTPs or anything back then (no internet cuz you know... it was the 80′s and I was a child). But I did have my favorites:
Favorite Characters
Captain Picard: Seriously Picard is awesome. He was my first role model. He always had an important lesson to teach and he always did the right thing. I had tons of different Captain Picard action figures.
Tumblr media
Dr. Crusher:  She was probably my very first girl crush. I seriously loved Dr. Crusher. I thought she was tough and smart. In the 80s, when women were beginning to be able to go to college and stuff, she was especially important because she was the Chief Medical officer. She had an important role on the ship.
Tumblr media
OTP: It shouldn’t come as a surprise that my OTP for TNG is Picard and Crusher. I wanted them to get together so bad!! My favorite episode was “attached” an episode in season seven where the two of them were stranded on a deserted planet and could hear each other’s thoughts. They learned about their intimate dreams and their feelings for each other.
Star Trek Deep Space Nine:
Deep Space Nine is near and dear to me because it was MY show. I watched it as a young teenager. It was there for me when I was dealing with some dark times in my life, and dealing with the challenges of being a teenager. it was the first fandom that I wrote fan fiction for. Of course, there was no internet then either, so it was just on notebooks and those notebooks have been lost in time. But even now, Deep Space Nine is my default when I can’t decide what to watch. Its my comfort zone, it’s where I feel safe. It was also one of the first times I felt moved by a show ending. I mourned TNG but I was too young. DS9 left just a void and there was no netflix to take comfort in, so no reruns.
Kira Nerys
I loved Kira so much! She was so bad ass. I seriously wanted to be her back in the day. She had a quick temper and she could be stubborn but she had a very tough past. She was a terrorist. She fought for her people’s freedom and she cared deeply for her planet. She dealt with some serious trauma and PTSD because she had been fighting as a resistance fighter since she was a child. It’s all she knew. Living in caves, starving, surviving. She taught me how to be resourceful, my favorite quote is when she said if you need a hammer, use a wrench.
Tumblr media
Constable Odo
Odo was the sheriff in town. He cared about justice and getting at the truth and he tended to be very hardline about it. He took his work very seriously. I loved his banter with Quark. Odo was the observer, he was on no one’s side but he didn’t hesitate to give his opinion and he wasn’t a fan of authority. He did things his way.
Tumblr media
OTP: Kira and Odo! I shipped them so hardback in the day! I knew they had something from the very beginning. In season one I shipped them. I was waiting through the whole show to see them be canon, only to be crushed when Odo left in the series finale! That kiss on the promenade was probably the best thing that ever happened to me!
Star Trek Voyager
I admit I didn’t get into Voyager right away. I was mourning for DS9 and couldn’t handle any more Star Trek spin-offs at the time. So I didn’t get into it until it had already been syndicated. But when I did, it definitely hit me hard. I was going through my early community college years, making friends, I met my husband around this time. I moved away from my parents. There were a lot of changes in my life so VOY came into my life at an important time.
Captain Janeway
Of course, I love her! She’s the captain! She’s smart, she’s tough, and she doesn’t take crap from anyone. She was another huge role model in my life. She was a scientist and a leader. Her crew mattered the most to her and it was through her that I learned about sacrifice and bravery.
Tumblr media
Commander Chakotay
I liked Chakotay. I liked his spiritual side. I happen to be part Native American so that’s something I related to him with. He was a strong sensitive type. The warrior.
Tumblr media
OTP: Janeway and Chakotay of course! I wanted them to get together so bad! It kills me when they had so many close chances that never happened. I mean it was so clear that they loved each other and that Chakotay/Seven thing at the end was a total slap in the face to us Janeway/Chakotay fans! I still hate the writers for that! it totally ruined the series finale for me.
X-files: So begins the era of stuff that husband introduced me to, starting with X-files. I had never watched it back when it was on because I only had eyes for Star Trek, but my husband, who was my boyfriend at the time, introduced me to pretty much every fandom from here on out. X-files was his show, its what he grew up on.
Scully: I’m a total Scully girl. I love her! She’s a scientist and she wears a gun. Total badass! And I love that even though her scientific mind, she was also spiritual which, as a pagan, I can relate. She knows that she is in a male-dominated occupation but she doesn’t let it bother her and isn't afraid to give people a piece of her mind.
Tumblr media
Mulder
You can’t have Scully without Mulder! I love how dedicated to the cause he was. And my husband and I have this on going joke that whenever you see a top secret secured area you have to wonder if Mulder has broken into it yet. Cuz he always manages to get to places where he isn’t exactly supposed to be.
Tumblr media
OTP: Mulder and Scully of course! Mulder may be a goof ball but he has said some of the most romantic, amazing things. “You were my constant” that whole speech right there was amazing.
Lord of the Rings
My husband introduced me to Lord of the Rings. I never read the books until I met him and even then, I’ve only read the Fellowship, but I loved the movies. They are my ultimate sick day splurge. I plan a LOTR/hobbit marathon when I get sick.
Aragorn: I think we are seeing a pattern. I like the leader types. The warriors. Which is why I love Aragorn! Also, I’ve always had a thing for guys with long hair so there’s that. But yeah, Aragorn is the sensitive, courageous warrior but he also has this self-doubt. He worries that he won't live up to what everyone knows he must become.
Tumblr media
Faramir
The younger brother to Boromir. I hate how Faramir’s father treated him and I think it’s sad how he still looked up to him and to his brother. He was brave but he had a kind heart and he deserved better than Denethor.
Tumblr media
OTP: To be honest, I didn’t really ship anyone from Lord of the Rings.
Rurouni Kenshin
I’ve never really been into anime but this is the one exception. And of course, my husband introduced me. He’s been a fan of the anime and the manga. I like this anime for it’s historical content. I am a history major and I love fandoms that make the setting a big part of the show. Like the setting itself is a character too, and this was certainly true in Kenshin. Meiji Japan was a character in the show in many ways. I really loved how it tied history into everything, describing Japan’s beginning of imperialism and its rise that would eventually put it on the world stage.
Kenshin
Kenshin is my favorite character! The wandering Samurai who just wants to protect people. He’s the warrior type just like all my other favorites.
Tumblr media
OTP: I didn’t really ship anyone, although I did have a soft spot for Kenshin/Kauru and Sanosuke/Megumi.
The Legends of Drizzt
My favorite book series of all time! I got so obsessed with the Drow through reading these books. My favorites were the first books about Drizzt and his homeland. This is also the first fandom my friend and I got really into and started RPGs with. WE had done RPGs with Voyager and X-files crossovers but this was probably the longes RPG series we did.
Drizzt Do’Urdon: Drizzt and Kenshin have a lot of similarities. Drizzt is another warrior type. He was abused by his female-dominated society until he finally had the courage to do what few drow ever did- leave. He faced hatred and discrimination on the surface because everyone feared the Drow.
Tumblr media
OTP: I didn’t really ship anyone. I liked Drizzt/Cattie-brie and I thought it would have been nice if he got to reconcile with Ellifain and maybe they could have been together, but that’s all.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
I wouldn’t say I am a hardcore Buffy fangirl, but I love the show. My sisters were really obsessed with it back in the day and they both know every single episode by heart. My husband is a huge fan so he finally got me to watch it.
Willow Rosenburg
Willow’s my favorite! She’s nerdy, geeky, and witchy. She’s been Buffy’s number one and she’s no side kick, she can handle her own. I was a nerd in school, and still am so I get her.
Tumblr media
OTP: I liked Buffy and Angel and Willow and Tara. I also thought maybe Xander and Spike would have been cool, or maybe Xander and Andrew.
The Hobbit
I loved the Hobbit movies despite the criticism. They were my first attempt at publishing fiction online. I have a bunch of my old Hobbit fics on Fan Fiction.net still. I also have saved some of my all time favorite Hobbit fics. I love the brotherly love between Fili and Kili and fan fic writers did such a good job of capturing it!
Fili
I am on the ‘justice for Fili’ team for sure. I seriously feel like Fili deserved way more than what he got in the movies. The third movie irritated me because Fili hardly got a part. It’s like he wasn’t even there. Fili was Thorin’s heir and I just think fan fiction does a way better job of giving him the love he deserved.
Tumblr media
Kili
I loved Kili. He’s the younger brother so he feels he has to prove to Thorin- his hero- that he can do what needs to get done. I think it hurt him to be left behind.
Tumblr media
OTP: No OTPS here, I don’t really ship anyone. I wasn’t a fan of the Kili/Tauriel thing at all. When I write Hobbit fics, I have these OCs I have been using for years that I ship with Fili and Kili but that’s all.
Supernatural
Last but not least! Supernatural is my last fandom. I’ve been a part of it for about three or four years. It’s my most current, the one I’m into the most at the moment. After it ends, that will be it! No more fandoms for me, all my fandoms will be things of the past. But my husband introduced me to it. He and I both have an interest in theology so that’s why we got into it, for all the angel and religious aspect. I like the mystic stuff, and I like how angels and demons are these different species with their own rules and such. That is the thing I’ve always loved about science fiction and fantasy- I love learning about non human cultures. I like learning how their society is.
Hannah
Hannah is my current crush these days. I love her. I pretty much think she is a goddess. I have so many reasons. I love that she is a soldier and she’s tough, I love that she has flaws but that she’s brave. Her inner conflict was the best part of her character, how she struggled with her sense of law and justice and with her emotions. She seemed to struggle a lot with trying to process the things she felt. I can honestly say that she is the closest I’ve ever seen to a female person with autism in any of my fandoms. That’s why I love her so much, I relate to her on such a personal level, being autistic myself. She inspires my writing and my art so much. She’s probably my favorite character out of all my fandoms right now. I’ve never related to a character more than I do to her. She is the character I love to play the most because she feels comfortable to me.
Tumblr media
Castiel
When it comes to team free will, I am a Cas-girl all the way! Who doesn’t love that adorable little angel? I feel like Castiel’s whole time on the show has been so sad. He rebelled for his friends and ever since then, it’s been one disaster after another with him and even now when season 15 is about to come out, I don’t think he’s ever found true happiness, and that hurts. He misses being an angel and it hurts that they don’t accept him for who he is. I’ve tried to touch upon Castiel’s emotional health a lot in my writing because I don’t think the show does a good job of addressing it. He has done so much for the Winchesters but I don’t think he’s happy with how his life is now, especially after the end of the last season.
Tumblr media
OTP: Castiel and Hannah! My ultimate hardcore forever OTP. I truly believe Castiel loved Hannah and its clear that she loved him. She is one of the few people in Castiel’s life who seemed to truly, honestly want to address his needs. She literally begged him multiple times to take care of himself, and in true Winchester fashion, was willing to let Metatron out and this sacrifice the world, just to save Cas. She’s one of the few angels who cared about Castiel, even knowing what he’s done, none of that bothered her. In the beginning when they first met, when all the other angels wanted to kill him, she didn’t care what he had done and only left when she thought he had betrayed them and was quick to come back to him when she found out the truth. I love Castiel and Hannah, pretty much all my fics focus on them.
NOTE: Before you start getting all upset about the fact that all my OTP ships are m/f, I want to point some things out to you. First off, I am bi. Second of all, m/f doesn’t always equal straight and m/m or f/f doesn’t always equal gay. STOP IT WITH THE BI ERASURE!!! I have plenty of other ships but these are my top ships and yes I mostly ship m/f. Just because they all just happen to be my favorites. Maybe because all the above characters tend to have certain characteristics and certain traits and it's their personalities that I ship not their gender. Also, I have huge crushes on the above female AND male characters so again, it’s probably why I ship them. Also, I am demisexual so sex doesn’t really play a huge role in who I ship. A lot of these characters also have similarities to me and my husband, so I tend to ship what I see in real life. I actually ship plenty of other ships other than what’s listed, yes most are still m/f, but some are f/f and some are poly. I don’t ship a lot of m/m because, well, I just don’t. I haven’t found any m/m ships that I really ship. I am all about chemistry first and if I don’t feel it I don’t feel it. Since sex doesn’t play a factor in my ships much, I need them to connect mentally and emotionally much more than physically. I also value equality in relationships. I am not into the whole ‘opposites attract’ thing. Characters have to be compatible.
And one other thing. Chemistry is in the eye of the beholder. What one person sees as chemistry someone else might not agree and that’s okay. It’s okay to disagree it's not okay to be a hater.

On Continuity, Plot, and Story: Each Thor Movie (including Loki on Disney+) Is Telling A Different Story...Part 1: Thor (2011)
One of the things I hear a lot in fandom is how a lot of characterization in the MCU is inconsistent throughout the movies.  This goes especially for a lot of the earlier Marvel movies (Iron Man, X-Men, 2000′s Spiderman) before MCU was even a thing, but all of the films to some extent fall prey to this.
First off, this is not going to be a ship-centric post, so please don’t take it as invalidating or supporting any relationship/romance/pairing. That’s not the point, so if you’re looking for that kind of content, I suggest you look elsewhere.
Secondly, I’m not a hardcore fan of the MCU. I’ve watched all the movies and shows I will be talking about today. In fact, I have watched them in order of release because my beloved is a big comic book fan and I support them even though I’m more of a fan of silver age DC comics, weird science, indie comics, and seinen manga.
Third, I’m not a *huge* fan of how a lot of superhero comic books have characters literally vomit paragraphs of extrapolation in speech bubbles, but I understand the reason for it, and I grew up in the 90′s, when a lot of superhero comics basically decided to fanboy all over Frank Miller’s Sin City aesthetic and so a lot of superhero comics were both super grimdark and really violent, which was not the kind of stories I preferred to read.  Add that to the time I watched that truly horrible Captain America movie from the 80′s or something on afternoon broadcast TV where he wears a motorcycle helmet and The Red Skull gave me nightmares for a week because their interpretation of the character is a guy whose face was just...glistening muscles and it was horrifying, and you can see why I might be a bit skeptical of the whole spandex-and-punching-baddies thing.
Anyway, let’s get started or this is going to be a rogue thesis paper.
You might laugh when I say this, but when I first heard about the Thor movies, it was on the back of Dr. Pepper cans.  They had cans with images of all the Thor characters on it, and I remember looking at Anthony Hopkins as Odin and wondering why he was such a round butterball.  The outfits *were* kind of ridiculous, but they also felt oddly overly shiny if that makes any sense.  Like they weren’t wearing clothing that actually made a lot of sense for battle.  It felt like they were trying to pull from the comics (which, to be fair, looks like someone decided to combine Conan The Barbarian with psychedelia, so I am fairly certain the costume department was doing their best), but also from the late 2000′s aesthetics popular at the time.  I remember there were short “making of” shows on TV, including interviews with the cast, and I was familiar with the director (he also made a film version of Hamlet that he starred as Hamlet in) so from that information alone, I could pretty much guarantee that this movie was going to be like Shakespeare on steroids with a good hint of self-congratulatory auteur nonsense.
And I was not disappointed!  The parts on Earth clashed terribly with the parts on Asgard, and I found it really funny because it was kind of like that meme where the detailed horse drawing gets more and more sketchy and terrible.
Like so:
Tumblr media
You could really tell that the director just wanted to make an entire movie on Asgard without Thor going to Earth at all.  The Earth parts were cringey and made me flash back to the early Iraq War Bush years (if you don’t know what I’m talking about it, it was a Whole Imperialistic Jingoistic Patriotic Bullshit Thing that I don’t want to go into).
The fight scenes were...ok...but they were also just...exhausting.  I find this to be pretty much the case in most early to mid 00′s superhero movie.  They are so obsessed with having The Big Fight To Make The Hero Look Really Powerful that the destruction ends up going on for so long that I get physically tired (I think I legitimately dozed off when Superman and Zod were fighting in the reboot film).  The character development was ok, but once again, every character wasn’t really a character, they were an archetype.
And so, I wanted to stop here for just a second and go into that a bit more.
Thor 1 wasn’t really written as a Thor movie.  Remember, the guy who had his fingers in this thing from day 1 is a Big Shakespeare Guy, and it shows. In plays like Hamlet, we don’t look at Hamlet and go “wow, I wanna headcanon Hamlet’s favorite breakfast and what he wears on Tuesdays.”  (Though, of course, you are welcome to do so if you like- friendly reminder that Hamlet is in the public domain so go out there and write about him all you want!).
Hamlet isn’t really a “person” so much as an assortment of plot archetypes (prince, coming home after time away, depressed, vengeful, intelligent, calculating) wearing funny shorts.  Nobody watches Hamlet because they want to know what Denmark was Like Back Then just like nobody thinks that Romeo And Juliet is a Very Accurate Depiction of Verona in Its Time, Actually. (Also, as an aside, for some reason, I always had this sneaking feeling that Shakespeare “borrowed” tropes from Oedipus and put it into Hamlet, but that’s an essay for another day).
In the movie, Thor isn’t meant to be a person. He’s a list of tropes because he is the Heroic Protagonist Archetype.  In a lot of ways Thor’s personality and character (his pride and hubris) are part of the traditional heroic storyline.  The hero has to have a fall before he can pick himself back up and reach the climax and resolution of the Hero’s Journey.  Having him thrown out of his element and humbled by making him “mortal” (I’m still not sure what that means, but it doesn’t matter! It’s a plot point that serves the story, not the other way around!)
I do think that one of the reasons Loki is set up as a brother instead of as an uncle or older character is because Loki is known in the comics, and the whole “neglected brother who backstabs his golden boy brother to take the throne” thing is definitely a plot point in Hamlet.
I could see where the director and his team were stymied by the rules thrust upon them by the property they were trying to use.  The story itself is a pretty standard heroic journey with other stuff sprinkled in.  Loki has to be at least slightly villain coded for most of the film to serve the story, and the audience must unquestioningly believe he is “sneaky and devious” because it serves the story of Thor going through the growth he needs in order to be a hero.
BUT ALSO, Loki can’t be made into an irredeemable villain because in the comics as well as movies, these characters have to be allowed to have enough open-ended characterization to allow for them to be slotted into other stories.  If Loki is a complete black-hearted monster, then the only part he can play in any heroic journey story is to die definitively at the end.  By pulling back before making him go too far, it does weaken the archetype a bit (as absolute evil is a lot more cathartic to dispatch once and for all), but it serves a specific narrative purpose.
Which brings me to character design and how the audience takes it.
I remember when LOTR was first coming out in theaters.  You had all the macho dudes going off when Gimley and Aragorn came on screen hacking and slashing, and then Legolas would show up and you’d hear a ton of screams  from the teen girls in the audience.  Feminine coded male characters are often really popular with with AFAB people, but they’re also popular with queer folks, especially villains due to queer-coding (villains often dress better and there’s a history of effeminate and queer Othering in media and society), so that’s definitely a Thing).
One of the main reasons I think this might be is that most films with a main male lead tend to be really man-character-heavy in general.  If there’s a female character, she’s usually cast as the “cis-white-generically attractive love interest archetype” which literally exists specifically because the sausage fest of male friendships with close connection (in spandex) is very, very easy to turn into a gay romance.  There is a reason one of the first and enduring fanfic pairings is Spock/Kirk.
A few more archetypes:
Thor’s three friends are basically versions of god Thor:
- A glutton who likes to boast/tell stories
- A battle-lusting solder who refuses to speak while he’s killing.
- A womanizer/narcissist
There’s also Lady Sif, who plays the roll of The Girl, No Homo on Asgard.
Thor’s parents, who are supposed to be incredibly powerful and capable, are basically kneecapped for story purposes as well.
If you want to ask yourself “why is Thor 2011 so irritating” it’s because it’s trying to tell a story despite the characters.
Well, actually...I lied.
It’s trying to tell TWO stories.
Oh yeah, that’s right.  This is where the plot thickens.
You see, when this movie came out, people were highly derisive because it was an unknown property.  Most people are familiar with Captain America (even if it was only the nightmare fuel movie from the 80′s) and they know who Iron Man is.  Even the Hulk is pretty ubiquitous, though the main issues with Hulk are tied to the fact that pretty every superhero film that came out in the early ‘00′s appeared to be contractually obligated to include an hour long origin story because apparently nobody in the history of anyone is familiar with comic books other than a handful of [insert comic book nerd stereotype here] and in order to make a cash cow, the superhero genre needed to be attractive to South-Park-and-Jackass-watching-teens in the mainstream. If I can remember the movie posters and commercials correctly, most of it was being billed as a pure-action flick with clips of the fight scenes and manly men punching faces, because that’s basically the male power fantasy right there.
No think, just rage and beat because he good guy self insert, and that bad guy.
So basically, the whole Asgard part of the movie is a movie in and of itself that’s being rushed through to hit specific plot points- it’s an origin story, telling you who Thor and the Asgardians are so that when they tell the story about Thor on Earth, the entire theater of (and let’s not kid ourselves, this is for an America-centric audience) macho suburbanite young adults who take one look at Thor in his weird costume and weird speech don’t then start making up emasculating terms to refer to him and then walk right out of the theater because the movie is too lame and genuinely nerdy to be comprehended by the apparent dude-bro majority.
This was yet again another example of “We need to make this popular with the wrong demographic for money purposes so we need to spoon-feed them non-threatening hyper masculine narratives so that they don’t take one look at a property that is in effect a magic buff dude with long fabulous hair wearing very little and flying around with a hammer over a rainbow bridge and talking like Errol Flynn while he does it.“
I mean, they tried (insert gold star meme here) by making Jane a scientist (with all the PhDs, because more degree is more smart amirite guyz?), and the meet cutes where she keeps running him over with the car is funny enough, but in the end, she is still falls into the “OMG LOVE INTEREST AFTER LESS THAN 24 HOURS MY HERO” category and that is...annoying.
I mean, it’s better than Lady Sif, who...let’s face it, we don’t care about because she doesn’t matter and I literally had to look up those other guys’ names up on Wikipedia after watching them all get merked in the first five minutes of Ragnarok.
In any case, the movie doesn’t really even end in a satisfying manner because it’s trying to tell two different stories, and the stories themselves don’t really work well with one another.  The whole Frost Giant/Loki part of the movie is largely just meant to be a hamfisted way to villain-code him from the beginning (if the blatant feminine coding doesn’t give that away).  And the part at the end where he dies is, as far as I can tell, supposed to be a tragic end for Loki.
Of course, though, we all know Loki comes back, and characters in comic books are quite well known for dying and coming back from the dead when conveniently needed for a plot anyway, but you could definitely feel a huge tonal shift from the begining (Asgard/Jotunheim) to the middle (Earth) to the end (Asgard).  It’s almost worse than having an Asgard origin story with a focus there and then moving to the superhero story and ending there, but they needed to have an excuse for Thor to be in the Avengers, so...there ya go.
Watching this movie is like watching one movie on one channel, flipping over to find another movie you like better, and then flipping back at the end of the second movie to find yourself in the last fifteen minutes of the first film.  It’s jarring and the tonal change reduces the impact of the climax of the film.
In the end, the stories being told here are warring with themselves, which means that there are way too many unanswered questions, and a lot of the characters you’re supposed to hate/dislike (from a dudebro spoonfed perspective) end up becoming interesting and easy to fill in the blanks for.  Loki is a prime example of this.  His character does have a fair amount of screentime and his backstory has to be at least somewhat developed because it’s a driving force for the story of Thor’s hero journey.  Loki provides some of the conflict that keeps the story from stagnating, and his character contrasts well with the hyper-macho, entitled Thor character by having more feminine characteristics, being thoughtful, cunning, and making plans.  In a lot of ways, the intense love/hate (but still love one another) relationship between the two (and the “it’s not incest because my sibling’s adopted” porn trope) is one reason why people ship them so hard.
Loki is popular with a lot of AFAB folks because he represents a lot of common AFAB experiences- being smart, trying hard, yet still treated condescendingly and less than worthy by authority figures, and never good enough as The Dude Who Just Showed Up. A lot of people deeply identify with the casually abusive and dismissive way that Loki is treated, as though he is a monster, despite him trying so hard to be accepted.  He falls into the abusive family trope under the Scapegoat archetype, but in the movie, there are explicit plot points that try to explain why he “deserves” to be scapegoated (thanks mainstream dude bro movie focus groups!). His character is often treated as sinister and suspicious long before he actually behaves in an antagonistic manner, which doesn’t help things. A lot of how Loki is treated in the film follows very closely to how a misogynist society treats AFAB folks.
Even if we discount the comic books and mythological lore, the bottom line is that this movie is designed to tell a certain story, and in this story, a certain type of person is lauded and shown as the example of Who To Be, and a certain type of person is reviled and minimized and shown as an example of Be Afraid Of This And Don’t Be This Or You Are Evil Garbage. This mirrors how marginalized people are treated in society so heavily that it makes a lot of sense why Loki is so beloved by fandom despite not being the focal character of this film, and why people have often deeply identified with Loki or associated deeply personal things with his character in fanart, fanfiction, and headcanons.  A lot of people see his character as an excellent place to do introspective work and to work through personal traumas.  I have also seen a fair amount of people look at Loki as a Sad Pale White Boi Who Needs to be Saved, which isn’t exactly true from a canon point of view, but I can see how there’s plenty of reasons to write or imagine the character that way, or to place him in situations where he can be validated or find romantic fulfillment.
Beyond Loki’s role in this film, you can definitely see that most of the characters are victims of the story they find themselves in, and this story is a Shakesperian tragedy coupled with easily digestible Hit Bad Guys With Hammer action segments.  In a way, I would almost consider something like the Asgardian parts to have been better suited to a mini series, while the actual superhero movie part would be Thor being sent to Earth and then doing a Thing there. But that wasn’t really a thing back in 2011.
Thor is a very, very long, convoluted film because of the two stories that it is trying to tell while pretending that it’s only one. It’s so long that the novelization actually ends during the fight in the desert on Earth. And, speaking of long, this post is too, so I think I’ll post this now and if there’s interest, I’ll talk about Dark World and Ragnarok in subsequent posts.
Feedback, as always, is appreciated.

Rained In
Bucky x Reader; College AU!, Steve/Nat, Sam Wilson
Summary: Where plans to hang outside are tossed out the window when the weather decides to change.
Word Count: 1,913
Warnings: Language, super adorable pouting Bucky
A/N: Because it’s raining and I’ve been having a long morning and in dire need of Bucky fluff
Tumblr media
The sight before you is too much for you and you end up biting your knuckles to keep you from laughing. Your lovely, childlike brunet roommate slash boyfriend was curled underneath all three of your comforters pouting and refusing to come out of his “cave”.
Earlier, Bucky had come barging into your room of the apartment you shared with him and Steve and crawled under the comforters, mumbling on about the stupid weather ruining his plans and that it should go fuck off and bother someone else. So while he continued to have a quiet argument with the weather, you decided to get up and take a shower and get ready for the day. By getting ready, meant wearing baggy sweatpants and a university hoodie you stole from Bucky last year. It was pouring cats and dogs outside and you couldn’t help but smile. Sure you wanted to hang outside with your friends, watch as Bucky and Sam fight over the football again and catch up with Natasha and her date with Steve the other day. But this was fine. It was a Friday, your one and only class was canceled and you had taken the day off so the weather could go fuck itself because you weren’t going to let it ruin your day.
You just had to get Mr. Grumpy Gills out of your bed before the mattress actually swallowed him whole.
Leaning against the doorframe of your bedroom, your gaze landed on the huge lump in the middle of the bed. You sighed for the third time. Here was Bucky, a man, a very well built man of twenty-three, smart as fuck, kills everyone at sports and here he is...hiding away in your bed because of the stupid weather. You had to admit it though, it was an adorable sight to see.
“You know, I think you might actually be able to stop the storm if you keep swearing at it.” You say as another round of thunder sounds out.
“Wanna know what? Fuck you, Y/N.” A flash of lightning, followed by a crash of thunder follows and Bucky’s muffled voice calls out, “And fuck you too!” Shaking your head, you head over to your bed, lift the mountain of comforters and joined him in his cave.
“Yo, brick wall, move your ass over before I’m forced to take action.” You tell him while poking his sides, slapping his butt in the process when he went to slow.
“Hey! Hands off the merchandise! And no poking the sides, you know I’m ticklish there, jerk.” He frowned at you when he shifted over to give you room, turning to face you. You peppered his face in kisses, rolling over on top of him, resting your chin on his chest. His pouty face turned into a grin, while his hands rest on your lower back.
“Well sorry ass butt, but you’re in love with this jerk. Sorry if your plans are ruined, but it doesn’t mean we still can’t do things.” You said tracing over the patterns on his shirt. Bucky smirks at you, wiggling his eyebrows.
“Oh, what kind of things?” He asks suggestively. You laugh and cover his face with your hands so you couldn’t see it anymore.
“No doofus...ew! Grosssss, Buucckkkkyyy, why?” You wipe your hand off on his shirt where he licked your hand.
“But why not? It’s not like we can do anything else. And you were suffocating me with your cute adorable hands.” He leaned up, capturing your lips with your own, his arms wrapping around your hips. You pull away before it could go any further, pecking his nose when he pouts again.
“Because, my brother got me the new Halo, Mario Kart, and Grand Theft Auto game. And we have those coupons we saved for pizza, Chinese and whatever take out we want to get. Oh oh oh, I also picked up Blair Witch, The Conjuring, LOTR, Star Wars and...uh, some Disney movies from home when I was there last. We could play some games and watch movies all day if you wanted.” You pleaded with him, giving him your best puppy dog eyes, knowing he always cracked under their gaze.
“Uh fine, I give up. But don’t come crying to me when you get your ass handed to you when I beat you for the umpteenth time in Mario.” You scoffed at him, pushing back the heavy comforters from the both of you, jumping off the bed.
“In your dreams princess. Let me know if you need me to call your fairy godmother when you crash your precious carriage.” Bucky sits up in shock, his hand over his chest.
“Oh that hurt, that was a low blow, Y/N. Way to go bring down a man’s ego.” You blew him a kiss and skipped out of your room to the living room to switch on your Xbox, Bucky following after you tying his hair back into a bun while heading into the kitchen. “Hey, babe? Pizza or Chinese?” He called out, you went to the kitchen to look over the order menus with him, leaning into his side. Heart swelling when he placed a kiss on the top of your head.
“Um...let’s get Chinese. I’m dying for some eggrolls and fried rice.” He chuckled beside you, as you put a fresh pot of coffee on.
“Chinese it is.” You put away the dishes from the dishwasher away from the other day, while Bucky called your orders in. Going through the fridge to make sure nothing was expired, tossing out what was then updating the grocery list.
“Wait...did you just call me princess? What the fuck?” You turned to see Bucky, hands on his hips, his shoulder tattoo faintly showing underneath the fabric of his shirt. Mouth turned down in a frown. You shrugged and continued on your task of going through the cupboards and pantry, writing down what else you needed. “Y/N?”
“Oh come on, don’t get your panties in a twist. Plus, it has a nice ring to it, don’t ya think?” You bowed in front of him deeply, sweeping your hand to the side to announce his presence. “Presenting Princess Bucky! Royal highness of Apartment 4B.”
“Okay that’s it, come here.” You squealed out as he reached for you, barely dodging him and running out of the kitchen, but he grabbed you from behind and brought you back into the kitchen. He turned on the faucet and reached for the hose.
“Bucky…Bucky, don’t you dare. James, I swear if you s-” He cut you off by holding you against him as he sprayed you with the hose. Cold water seeping into your clothes. “James! James, s-stop!! The water’s freezing!” But he never relented, he was about to respond when he lost his footing and slipped on the water that pooled on the floor. He pulled you down with him but made sure you fell on top of him.
“Oh fuck! That water is cold!” He screeched out as his shirt soaked up the water from the floor.
“Yeah, well serves you right for doing that to me you asshole.” You smiled down at him, brushing back the strands of hair from his face.
“Yeah, well I’m your asshole.”
“That you are.” You kissed him quickly before getting up. “Now, ready to get your butt whooped or what?”
“You are sooo going down, hope you’re good at taking notes.” The two of you stood up and made your way over to the couch. You sat on the couch legs crossed, while Bucky sat on the floor in front of you. You handed him a controller and started the game. You, of course, we're Toad and Bucky chose Luigi. It was a very tense battle between the both of you. You were surprised no one came to tell you to keep it down from all the yelling and swearing you were doing. Well….that Bucky was doing, because he was getting his ass whooped. Six times in a row.
The phone rang signaling the food delivery, which was perfect timing because you just finished the eighth race starting on the ninth. While Bucky got up to pay for the food you scrambled for his controller and quickly changed his character to none other than…..Princess Daisy. To get him back at that water stunt he pulled. Oh, revenge was so sweet. Bucky handed you your food and sat back down grabbing his controller.
“Ready for another round? See if I can be unbeatable?” He leaned his head back and you smiled down at him.
“Heck yeah. Kiss for good luck?”
“You sap.” You mumbled under your breath, giving him a quick kiss before starting the next round. You watched the countdown in excitement, waiting to see his reaction. The race started and you were off.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Bucky pointed at the screen, then he groaned out in frustration as he watched you take him down. Again. “That’s it, I give up. But don’t think this is over Y/N.” He glared at you.
“Serves you right, you jackass. That water was fucking freezing.” He continued to glare at you, but it quickly changed as he laughed along with you.
“Yeah, it was pretty cold. Sorry ‘bout that babe.” He sat on his knees and pulled you in for a kiss, which you gladly returned.
“Don’t worry about it, gives me an extra excuse to cuddle you more often. Now get up here, I’m cold and want to cuddle.” You made grabby hands at him and he chuckled, standing up. He leaned against the armrest, legs spread out in front of him, one behind your back, one resting on the floor. He opened his arms for you, letting you crawl into his lap and get comfy. He pulled the blanket from the back of the couch and draped it over your legs after he moved around a bit. You logged into Netflix and scrolled through the lists. As another roll of thunder sounded from outside, the rain hitting against the window pain.
“What do you want to watch? Action or Disney?”
“Uh…” Bucky swallowed his food before answering. “Let’s watch Doctor Who, we haven’t watched that one in a while.” You agreed eagerly, clicking on that then grabbing your food from the coffee table. The two of you watched silently, once in a while commenting on the current scene, who you thought was going to die next or what the Doctor was going to plan, etc. Chinese food long finished, you curled up against Bucky’s chest as you watched episode after episode. Soon enough, you finished the whole season and began to watch the following one. Neither of you were really paying attention to the screen, growing tired, the warmth you gave each other along with the fuzzy blanket on top of you, made it feel absolutely perfect. Eventually, your eyelids gave in and drooped shut.
The two of you slept, deaf to the rumble of the storm outside. It was the weekend, nothing else to do and nowhere to go. But you weren’t complaining, you were rained in with your best friend.
