I absolutely hate his mindset of "characters shouldn't change."

No one wants to see characters that don't grow or evolve for the better. No one wants to see them go through the same shit in a different font for 8 seasons. Which, by the way, any show that goes on for long enough is expected to see some characters change. Are you the same person you were 8 years ago? I know I'm not.

Change isn't a dirty word and I'm sure that if me, in my brain rotted state, is tired of what this show has become, I can guarantee you the GA is super duper over it.

You know the fucking funniest thing? Back when Tim published that video on his Facebook I fully thought it was a dig at the Buddie fandom. With time and perspective, it very much feels like he was pre-justifying keeping Buck as the eternal bachelor.

But yeah, fully agree with you here. It's no fun or entertaining to see the characters stuck for several seasons, repeating the same storylines, just in different fonts. especially with a main cast this small, and that has seen no changes since Season 2. Out of eight, mind you.

I think there is a difference between changing and growing, and for some reason, Tim does not realize there is one. Buck not being a bachelor anymore and settling down with someone wouldn't be changing his character, especially because we know he's wanted to find love since Season 1. Rather, doing that would be him growing naturally and organically. And, you know what makes the audience stick with a show? if they can relate to a character, and see them grow at the same time as they do. Lots of people could relate to Buck. But now, they are not seeing him growing.

And it's like you say - after eight years people just aren't the same. I know I am not the same person I was two years ago, so to say eight?

You're fully right, change isn't a bad word. And, in fact, it is rather indispensable for a long-running series to keep running. And, if Tim does not realize this, I fear that might be their downfall.
