Your world is so fucked up Fade, I'm curious. Did you screw with life and death too? What's up with Xerneas and Yveltal?
“Life and Death”
The two, well, gods of life and death, Xerneas and Yveltal sort of co-existed in Kalos for the longest time, often sleeping deeply for centuries before waking. For Xerneas, it appeared as a tree in its slumber, and when awake, the deer-like deity was capable of granting life-eternal life supposedly-to those it deemed worthy. Because of their strange sleep cycles, they often do not interact with the other legends and rarely appear at these special meetings the legends conduct. They are kept abreast of most situations though, learning offhandedly and aren’t too fond of the way things have been going; in their slumber, Kalos has seemed to prosper, so they do not feel any need to follow requests from Arceus, nor do they feel any need to try and confront King with breaking his obsession. So long as the god of life is there for Kalos, they could care less about the world outside of it; Xerneas has been working to find a way to completely shield Kalos if the world really does fall to ruin.
Yveltal on the other hand, seems to stay in slumber, lest it wake and take everything around it with it upon deciding to slumber again; Xerneas seems to be the only one capable of waking them without risking death, though there have been times Yvetal woke on their own. Opposite to Xerneas, Yveltal spreads an unnerving aura of dread wherever they go, to a point where those who can sense it ahead of time know to flee the area, the wings of death are upon them. While it may be expected of Yveltal to enjoy the growing chaos of the world, they seem less inclined to join in on it, annoyed that Arceus made such a decision in the first place, outright complaining that they could’ve actively did half of the job Arceus wants the world to do to itself. At least, initially, they were upset, but now… Yvetal’s a bit neutral, not wanting to get too involved with either side of the issue, but has no interest in protecting Kalos from the fall of modern society, if it comes to that.
