Yes and no.....when the company expanded more, and more people came to Greenville for employment, We did not plan for the town to grow enough to form an entire city, so after that one of the projects was to begin the expansion of the new city for the employees and their families.
Then, the new industrial city absorbed what little remained of the old and quiet Greenville
It was something more collective

Hi ! Could we have a childhood friends to lovers ViktorxReader please ? 𼰠I am CRAVING for new works
Yess!! I love this trope it's sooo cute!!
2k words, so I hope you enjoy, Anon!
(fluff, gn!reader, reader is a professor, making out, getting caught, Viktors a bit of a tease (when is he never though), I think this is it!)
Ëââ§ę°á â ŕťęą â§âËËââ§ę°á â ŕťęą â§âËËââ§ę°á â ŕťęą â§âËËââ§ę°
When your family left the under-city, you knew everything would change. You were glad that it happened, it opened a whole bunch of doors for what you could become when you grew into an adult. But it also meant leaving your old life behind, one of the things you still think about to this day. Your heart aches when you think about the people you knew, you just hope that they ended up in a good place. When the shimmer trade spiked, you thought you'd never see any of the people you knew ever again, most of them probably either succumbed to the drug, or was killed during the many times the enforcers went down. You didn't like to think about it, but it's the harsh reality of Piltover.
Now you're walking the halls of one of the most esteemed universities inside of piltover, not as a student, but as a professor. You climbed your way to the top, and you know that your family is proud of you. They're the only reason this became possible, so when you got offered, you jumped at the chance. You're not complaining either, it's a well paying job with good benefits.
The day seemed to be going by incredibly slow, each hour felt like a year. You had a pile of tests on your desk that you had to mark, you've gotten through about half of them. But there's only so much marking someone can take before you feel like ripping your hair out.
So, instead of ripping your hair out, you decide to go on a coffee run and get some fresh air. You've been inside your office for so long, you're surprised you're still standing. One of the downsides to being a professor.
The walk to the Cafe down the road from the university isn't a long one. It's about three minutes, so long enough that you can get some well needed fresh air, but not long enough that you're regretting your decision.
When you reach the university, hit coffee in hand, you run into one of your former students, Jayce Talis. He gives you a friendly wave and comes up to you, âhey, professor. How's your day been?â He asks, awkwardly trying to make small talk and you have to cover your smile by pretending to clear your throat. âIt's been well, thank you for asking. How's yours been?â You smile at him, not wanting to seem impolite by just ending the conversation there. He shrugs and sighs, you get the feeling.
Just when you're about to ask a question someone calls Jayce over, and when you both look over you're met with the sight of someone who you thought died long ago, but there he is, standing right in front of you, his cane in hand. You've heard of hextech, you're not in your office that much, and you've heard that Jayce didn't do it alone, but you never knew who his lab partner was. You also know that Heimerdinger has an assistant, but you were never able to catch said assistant's name. But you expected everything and anything, but him. You could have sworn he was dead.
âViktor,â you manage to get out, although it's been years since you've last seen him, the memories you two made together as children stay fresh in your mind. Plus, he's incredibly attractive, everything from his overgrown hair to the way he leans on his cane, still managing to be taller than you, though not by much. It all had your mind swarming. His eyes rake over you before he looks back to your eyes, âMilĂ˝,â he breathes, a faint smile on his face as he continues, âyouâre.. ehh.. hi.â He chuckles, standing a bit straighter on his cane. Before either of you can say anything else, Jayce buts in, âI hate to ruin a good moment, but the council wants to see us, Viktor.â Viktor nods and gives you one last nod before limping after Jayce.
Seeing someone who you hadn't seen in a good decade or so was not on your bucket list. You sit down in the chair behind your desk and lean back, letting your head just barely dangle off the back of the chair. You bring your hands up and rub your face, taking a deep breath and groaning. The sound is muffled by your hands. You sit back up again and sigh, you shouldn't feel this way. But you can't deny the way that you felt your heart race when you saw him again, he has such a boyish charm that just pulls you in, the same as is it did when you two were kids. You just chalk it up to a shock factor, you haven't seen him in years. You're just shocked, that's what you tell yourself.
The whole day all you can think about is him, you almost feel giddy, almost like a schoolgirl again. You take a breather, you've made a good amount of progress on the tests so you can afford a quick walk. Plus you have a class soon, and your classroom is on the other half of the university, and you've still got to set up your notes, you internally groan at the thought of giving another lecture. This is your fourth today.
When you finally reach the classroom, the professor that was using the room before you is just finishing cleaning up. You opened the door, only to be met with Viktor and Jayce, and then Heimerdinger soon after. You give a polite nod to Heimerdinger, and smile at Jayce and Viktor. You take your bag off and grab your notes, placing them on the table in front of you, before speaking up, âI thought your lecture ended a while ago, what are you still doing here?â You try and make your tone seem polite enough to cover up the, almost, rude question.
It's Jayce that speaks up first, âHeimerdinger thought it would be a good idea for us to sit in for one of your lectures, since the subject your an expert in is arcane.â You nod and chew the inside of your cheek. You're an amazing talker, and can easily give an hour long lecture, but with Viktor there, you feel anxious at the thought. Although it makes sense, hextech deals with arcane and what better person to listen to than someone who's an expert in it. You try and finish setting up without letting your mind wander too much, but your eyes keep on drifting from the papers in front of you to Viktor. When you look over at him, you find him already staring and he quickly looks away from you.
Now it's just a matter of waiting, you have ten minutes until your class starts so why not help Jayce and Viktor with their problems. You let them, mainly Jayce oddly enough, to ask you any questions they may have and you answer them to the best of your ability. Soon enough your class starts and you have to push away the temptation of staring at Viktor the whole time. Though, a few times you caught him, out of the corner of your eye, looking at you, and you embarrassingly stumbled over your words those times. You swear you saw the ghost of a smirk on his face at your reactions. Everything about him is so damn enticing, it's infuriating. How can one man be so wonderfully perfect, it doesn't make sense to you.
After your lecture, you're leaning over your desk, your mind swarming with thoughts, some not as innocent as you'd like.
When you're met with a hand on your back that has you letting out an embarrassingly loud yelp. Lo and behold, Viktorâs standing right behind you, with a smirk on his lips. âYou seem awfully.. eh.. jumpy today, is everything alright?â He asks, moving his face closer to yours, and your heart is racing so fast you're convinced it'll jump out of your chest. His hand on your back moves lower until he rests it on the curve of your hip, gently squeezing it. âYeah, I'm fine. Just tired.â You sigh, doing your best to not stutter or hesitate on your words. Viktor chuckles, the sound is something you'd pay to hear again, and moves his face closer to yours again. âWell, we can't have one of the best professors sleeping on the job. Now can we?â If it weren't for the teasing lift to his words you'd think he was actually concerned, but you both know that you're he's not actually. He almost immediately caught onto your lie.
You have to crane your neck at an, almost, uncomfortable angle to be able to see his face. You have to loft your face up for your neck to not be strained too much and you unintentionally bring your faces closer together. In the moment everything feels heightened, you're more aware of him. The hand he has on your hip feels heavier, you can feel the heat coming from his body from the proximity of you two, and you can smell him, a wonderful scent mixed with oil from the lab, the salty smell of the bay, and the knee-weakening scent of his cologne. Right now, everything about him feels intoxicating.
His hand lifts from your hip and to your back, carefully nudging you to turn around so you two are fully facing each other. He then places his hand on your chin to lift your face up, once again. He lets go and grabs your hand, placing it on his chest before speaking, in such a quiet tone you almost didn't hear him, âdo you feel that?â Under your palm you can feel each beat of his heart, it's fast, probably just as fast as yours is. All you can muster is a nod. âThat's what you're doing to me.â He sighs and brings his face closer to yours, the sound of his words mixed with the tone of his accent is something you're slowly becoming addicted to.
You bring your free hand up to hold his face, your finger traces his cheekbone and then you rest your palm on his face. âGood.â You smirk and his eyes flick down to your lips, and you take the hint, closing the gap between you two. He presses you against the desk and reciprocates the kiss, just as eager and desperate as you are. Each second that passes by feels like an eternity, and you hope it never ends. You've wrapped your arms around his neck and his free hand is resting on your hip. You're the one to pull away first with a quick gasp for air. Viktors face has a red flush to it and you swear you fell deeper in love right then and there.
âI've waited so long to do that, when you left for the top-side the only thing I regretted was not telling you how I felt.â He chuckles, stroking your hip, and you smile and lean in to kiss him again, this time it's him who closes the gap. His lips against yours feels right, you've kissed other people, men and women, but none have felt as right or as good as this. It's a bit messy, and rushed, but it feels right. You slide your hand back down to his chest, feeling his heart race under your palm is something that has you feeling giddy. He wraps his arm around your waist and pulls you impossibly closer to him. The moment, unfortunately, had to come to an end, the sound of the door opening, not only were you two caught but it reminded you that you two were inside a classroom, thankfully it wasn't a student who caught you, just an incredibly shocked Jayce. You look at Jayce and then back at Viktor, who looks just as shocked as Jayce, and you cover your mouth with your hand to stifle your giggles. âThis is a place of learning, you two!â Jayce scoffs and throws his hands up, and Viktor groans, taking a few steps back.
âGood thing we're learning then, or we were learning.â Viktor teases, giving you a quick wink before going over to Jayce who looks even more shocked than before, he looks at you and then back at Viktor before groaning in defeat and chasing after Viktor. You're not sure what's going to happen between you and Viktor next, but you're sure that, whatever it is, it will be amazing.

đŽ OPPOSITES ATTRACT
synopsis. a quiet slytherin and a loud gryffindor find themselves on a chilly evening, which results in something unexpected â at least for people around them. the oldest weasleyâs daughter finds herself infatuated with nottâs only child and vice versa, even if their worlds seem so different, being apart just doesnât feel right.
notes. theodore nott x weasley!reader. slightly sunshine x grumpy (pretend youâre a ginger if ur not). part 2 containing the date, thoughts?
theodore nott never thought he would be given a chance to love and be loved, upon all the terrible mistakes he has made. and maybe it seemed silly for a sixteen years old to say, but with an upcoming war, he wasnât so sure if he could live through it.
theodore nott never thought he would have someone to call his own, someone to help him, when times get tough or someone who would understand him wordlessly. to be fair, theodore nott never thought he deserved anything like that, so the surprise on his face, when he found someone who was involuntarily willing to be his person was enormous.
he was walking around the crowded streets of the city, the dim lighting allowing him to see muggles running around with different expression on every other face he has passed â some of them were happy, cheering the slowly creeping holiday on them, some of them were exhausted and/or angry, probably from trying to find a perfect gift for someone and failing. just watching them gave him some sort of comfort, he had never had to look for gifts too much, his father wasnât keen on being all festive and christmas was just any other day. the exception itself was looking for presents for his friends, which never had troubled him so much he looked exhausted.
he was in his thoughts, when he felt like he collided with someone. his eyebrows were squinted as he looked down on the red-haired girl, whose face was all red, either from cold or embarrassment. though, there was something so familiar about the girl that made him study her face for a brief second, the tea stain on his unzipped jacket didnât seem to bother him at all, not as much as the familiarity of the girl.
âoh my god, i am so sorry, sir.â she let out ashamed that she didnât look where she was going and that she probably ruined someoneâs evening with her no sugar, lemon tea. it was then, when the familiar girl finally gave up and looked at the person she rudely bumped into.
ânott?â her words werenât coated with layers of disgust and regret that out of all the people in london that night, she bumped into theodore nott. her words had surprised and confused undertones, almost as if she didnât mind seeing him there. now, he obviously recognized his attacker â y/n weasley, a girl he sits behind in history of magic, a twin sister of potterâs best friend, someone who should hate him with burning passion.
âare you alright?â redheadâs question took him off guard.
theo was expecting something else, like a mockery of the fact that he was walking amongst muggles without hexing them all. though to be honest, theodore never hated muggles, well, yeah, he said some stupid shit, when he was younger and he was far from proud, but it was the need to appease his father. he definitely didnât expect to see the worried manner in her, her brows scrunched as she tried to read his emotions, while standing in front of him in silence.
âtheoâŚ?â repeated y/n. he wasnât alright and he didnât know if he should show it. for merlinâs sake, he really wanted to get so much things out of his system, but venting to a weasley? he knew better than that â she would probably go around, and spread out the word about everything she heard from him.
nott was about to mumble something in response, when her eyes flickered with concern, demolishing all his justification why shouldnât he talk to her for longer than needed. she was genuine, not caring that ron and harry werenât on a good terms with him, she wanted to know, and help if possible.
so, theo simply gave up the act. âuh, no. not really.â he confessed, confirming all the suspicions she got to gather from observing him for a few minutes, when he thought of an answer. her expression changed from concerned to slightly sad, even.
before the boy could realize, he was sat in one of the small coffee shops beside her, a half empty, steamy cup of hot chocolate in his hands as they talked. something was so incredibly off about the way they conversed, first time in a while, he never wanted to conversation to end, just like when he was talking to his friends. his body itched at the thought that soon both of them would have to come to their respective houses and the talk would be just a memory that never happened again.
he had to admit that y/nâs presence was soothing. it was like the smell of a freshly printed new book, a cigarette on a foggy morning, a sensation of someoneâs nails gently scratching the inside of his palm. the last one was a habit his mom developed to calm him down before she died, leaving him with an aching need for someone to find out about his perk and do it when he needs.
her muffled laughter filled his ears as he watched the girl cover her lips with a palm, he couldnât help but smile. the gloomy atmosphere that he brought with his tiny vent was long gone, since she declared it her mission to make him feel better. so, since he wasnât a big talker himself, she let him listen to all the stories from when she was growing up. even though he never experienced a family like hers, a family that cared for each other, it was comforting.
his eyes darted to the clock hung up on a wall, followed by hers and a long sigh that left his lips. his fingers ran through his curls as he parted his lips to bid goodbyes, though y/n was faster. âwe could meet up here some other time, if you want.â she gave him a shy smile, the one he never thought he would see on her face.
y/n weasley wasnât the shy type of girl, she was a big talker, a smart-ass with witty comebacks and a obnoxiously loud aura coating her small frame, though right now, upon his gaze that wandered around her face for quite some time now, she grew shyer.
âuh.â stuttered theo. âyeah, i guess itâs a good idea.â his reply made her smile go bigger, and in the back of his head, it felt like a reward for the decision he just made, some kind of reassurance that he did something good.
âperfect.â she grinned, taking the two of their cups and taking them to the shopâs kitchen, revealing that either she works there, or sheâs just insanely crazy for barging into someoneâs workplace as an unwanted stranger. âthereâs a fireplace in the back.â weasley added, taking his hand in hers before he could even refuse (he wouldnât though).
the tips of her long nails gently grazed his palm, when she led him the back, greeting a few of her coworkers. her touch on his skin ached, almost burnt, although if thatâs what the insides of a normal, fireplace without floo powder felt like, he could grow to like it, only if a part of her body was pressed against his. few minutes later theoâs hand felt empty as he watched her disappear in green flames, having bid their goodbyes.
***
theo hated that feeling. this warm, strange feeling that coated his heart whenever he thought about the obnoxious gryffindor, who he met at those muggle streets. nevertheless, he found himself unable to think about someone else. he was replying to a letter pansy has sent him, and the only thing he had on his mind was y/n, he wondered if ginny told her about her little getaways with theoâs best friend, if all her brothers got back to their house, and â if she thought about him.
his hands throbbed. his fingers wrapped tightly around the quill, before putting it down on his deck. why on earth would he text her? it was one accidental meeting at some crowded street, one conversation that shouldnât mean anything to them.
nott squeezed his eyes, the muscles on his face tensed as he focused on the paper in front of him, scribbling down a few words in his neat handwriting. a long sigh has left his lips, his eyes tracing the sentence he wrote for her. shit, why would he even do that? if any of his friends knew, heâd have been doomed â one weasley hanging around their friend group was enough, but he didnât want to push draco nor blaiseâs limits.
on a christmasâ eve, he went out for another walk, slightly hoping in the back of his mind that heâd accidentally bump into her again. this time, theodore would make sure to hear her laugh more often, to see her teeth, when she smiles or to watch as she gets shyer upon his gaze on her face.
his feet got him into a familiar looking cafĂŠ, his eyebrows scrunched in confusion â he couldnât pinpoint from where he knew the place â and looked around. then, he heard it.
âtheo!â a female voice rang in his ears. the boy turned his face, a smile slipping onto his lips as he realized where he was. the god damned cafĂŠ y/n was working at. âwhat can i get you?â a grin spread across her face, visibly delighted to see him there, almost as if she hoped for it.
her forearms laid on the counter as her body leaned a little closer, her hair pinned up in a ponytail that probably got ruined during her shift from running around the place, having a chat with each customer every now and then, a pinkish tint on her cheeks, maybe from the heat in the back or maybe, because he was there.
it took him a second to realize that he was staring with his mouth slightly parted. âuhââ he stuttered, getting a small, barely audiable giggle in response. âi just came to see you.â he blurted out. thank god his ears were covered by the beanie, because just by saying those six words got him all flustered.
âtheo.â his name sounded so well coming from her. theodore wanted to hear it again, again, and again. it was melodic, like most beautiful song heâs ever heared. how could he get so whipped after one hangout?
âi hoped youâd come by.â she confessed shyly. âi have something for you in the back, could you give me five minutes? i gotta tell the manager iâm taking a break.â she beamed at him sweetly, rushing off to the back, taking off the green apron that hung on her waist in the meantime.
when she came back, she was still wearing the cafĂŠâs shirt with a small, green logo, black jeans, and was carefully walking towards his table with a neatly wrapped package and on a top of that a plate with a big piece of some sort of chocolate cake, two drinks (the same as last time), and a cookie. her hair wasnât in a ponytail anymore, ginger strands falling into her shoulders as she gave him the sweetest smile heâd ever seen.
âyouâ you got me something?â a question left theoâs mouth, leaving him all surprised â the strange feeling warming him up from the inside. he took a big sip of the hot chocolate in front of him, hardly minding that he burnt his tongue, he didnât want to say anything stupid. ây/n, we talked once and you⌠got me something?â he asked once again, not believing his own eyes.
the girl just smiled wider, passing the box towards him. âuh. yeah.â she answered, shrugging. âlast time, you said that you never really celebrated christmas the right way, so⌠please open it.â she tried explaing herself, but gave up at the end, pushing the box further with her fingertips. âplease?â
shit.
if she didnât ask, if she didnât give him those eyes and that smile. maybe he would be able to refuse, think of some lame excuse that wouldnât hurt her feelings and give her the box back. but y/n was so sweet, and thought of him hard enough to prepare him a gift.
for half a second, theodore could see something flicker in her eyes, when his lean fingers gently pulled the green ribbon, ripping the gift paper afterwards. the gift turned out to be a sweater, a hand-made one that made the feeling come back to him.
the sweater was dark green, in the similar shade of his tie or the snake symbol on his robes, it had a large, dark blue letter T with a silver outline. his eyes scanned the piece of clothing, the corner of his lips going slightly upwards. âyou got me your momâs iconic sweater?â asked theo.
his mind was filled with different thoughts and emotions right now. he could never call y/n weasley a sweet girl, not because it wasnât true, but because it would be an understatement â she was the sweetest, or at least somewhere in that range. his cheeks almost hurt from smiling at her, and never in his life nott had felt it.
âactuallyâŚâ her cheeks started getting a little more pinkish than usual. âitâs based on my momâs sweaters, i did it on my own. it might not be perfectâ" y/n started rambling in nervousness, afraid that the boy wonât be happy about getting a meaningless piece of fabric from her.
ây/n, i love it.â theodoreâs words were like honey to y/nâs ears, she gave him a small smile, not really expecting him to gently grab her hand out of sudden. the reason behind it? even theo didnât know (probably to ease her nerves).
when he realized what he did, he wanted to take his hand back and mutter a quiet apology, the crime scene awkward as much as only possible. although, from the corner of his eye, he noticed that the pink on her face intensified, few more minutes of skin-to-skin contact, and she would turn into a tomato, so his hand stayed on hers, taking the chance and intertwining their fingers together.
âwould youâ uh,â the redhead started, stumbling over her own words, easily losing focus, each time his thumb stroked her hand, a tiny smirk hovering over his lips. âlike to, uh, come here once in a while, you know⌠until the breakâs over? keep me company, maybe?â
and he did. how couldnât he? this girl was constantly on his mind ever since she bumped into him on the streets and spent literal hours at the cafĂŠ.
although, beside just keeping her company during the winter break â but also at school. he grew so fond of her (and believe me, it worked both ways) that cutting their fresh friendship short was something he couldnât let happen. so⌠even though her younger sister was already swaying her way into theodoreâs friend group, y/n seemed like a different topic.
theodore nott liked sharing. as unbelievable as it sounds, he really did. whenever he had something he enjoyed, he was willing to share, he was the type of person to give away his last cigarette to one of his friends, but the thought of sharing y/n weasley never crossed his mind. he wanted her all to himself, so⌠their hangouts always contained just the two of them.
small study dates in the library, late night walks around the courtyard, meet-ups in the room of requirement, picnics in the astronomy tower, while smoking some pot and cigarettes together.
back then, it felt strictly platonic. even if they called it their little dates, nott had a feeling they werenât moving past the friendship line, while his emotions towards the girl were getting more and more serious. nevertheless, theodore was confident, but not confident enough to ask her out â to confess his silly crush without the fear creeping up on him that y/n would reject him and turn his dreams into nightmares.
***
the weather outside was getting better with each day until spending time inside the castle was unbearable. it was around the time, theo decided to finally push his luck and ask the girl of his dream out. ever since he woke up, he was nervously fidgeting with everything that got to his hands and when then classes were to start, it only got worse.
âyou alright, theo?â a whisper left y/nâs mouth as she stood next to him in potions, her elbow nudging him lightly, trying to catch his attention.
merlin. the way his name sounded so wonderful on her tongue. if it wasnât for the small attention-grabber, he would definitely accidentally ignore the question to daydream about how sweetly her voice is.
âno, i meanâ yes, yes i am.â he stuttered. âi justâ can i ask you a question?â she nodded, making his stomach turn around. âwould you, uhâ like to go out to hogsmeade with me? like on a date?â the question left his lips.
his throat went dry as he waited years for an answer (which was actually just about two seconds, theoâs brain just got really dramatic from stress), legs giving up, so he had to lean his palms on the table.
âfâcourse.â weasley grinned, not minding the blush that spread all over her face, just from the ask. âi thought youâd never ask, really.â she giggled, turning her eyes away for a second, before flashing him another beam of hers.
nottâs face was now bright pink. âiâ what?â he was struggling to form a logical sentence. âyou wanted me toâ?â the boy was supposed to finish his thought, though it didnât really sit well with snape who interrupted their little talk, postponing it until the evening.
the two of them were walking somewhere outside, laughing about something so insignificant, when the situation from classes popped into his mind. âso⌠about that date. you really want to?â asked nott.
he expected any kind of answer â yes, no, maybe, you should guess, nah â whatever was only possible. however, the feeling of her lips on his wouldnât cross his mind. she kissed him. y/n has kissed him, leaving him breathless, when she pulled away.
âdoes that answer your question?â redhead chuckled, her fingers still curled up against the collar of his white shirt. he shook his head, still mind-blown. âyes, theodore faustus nott, i was dying to hear you ask me out on a date. whatever we have between us, i wanted it to move forward and go on a date with you.â
she laughed. âyou really think iâd spend hours crotcheting a sweater for a guy i met few days earlier if i didnât feel something? theo, i almost passed out when you touched my hand months ago.â another laugh left her lips that were now so close to his, clouding his mind with one certain thing.
upon hearing all those words, the boy couldnât stop himself anymore, he pressed his mouth against hers, savouring the moment. cherishing the fact that she wanted him like he wanted her.
âthe date is still a thing, yeah?â y/n smiled as her nose brushed his.
âyouâre gonna love it.â he answered, grinning.

I really loved your miguel o'hara works , and i would like to make a request,about headcanons of miguel with a sweet and shy housewife reader ,like ,she is always in home ,cooking ,cleaning and taking care of the house in general ,and always welcomes miguel saying how proud is of him and his job,if youre comfortable you can include a nsfw part but if you dont want to you can just make the fluff part , i hope its okay and have a nice day!
Miguel OâHara x housewife reader
Warnings: thereâs the SFW & NSFW headcannons!! Fluff and alllâŚ
Authors note: Thank you for your sweet words hun!! I wish you the best!! And of course I added down NSFW! I had to- itâs Miguel weâre talking about!! But yes.. I hope you enjoy and I met your expectations:)
â˘Ever since the start of your relationship, you knew Miguel was the Spider-Man of Nueva York, after he saved your life and kissed your scared tears away. He instantly felt a connection with you and knew he had to have you.
â˘You were very shy tho, and kept to yourself. Only had trips to the library and to the flower shop- you were basically a home-body.. not a fan of being around or in large crowds.. but Miguel made you feel safe instantly and he took you safely home through a path that was quiet and not around much people and noise.
â˘Miguel was gentle and didnât push you to do more than you wanted too, and he was the first person that made you feel comfortable with yourself. Thatâs why after countless dates and swinging trips on his back, youâre happily married to him and are kept safe in your guysâ home. Where you live with and for him while he keeps the beautiful city safe.
â˘Everyday heâd come home with a new book or a bouquet of fresh flowers, showering you with things that made you happy, to earn him your gorgeous, shy smile. Heâs seen all of you and loved you entirely, yet he was proud on how he made you blush everytime he brought something home, and he lived for kissing that cute pouty smile you had.
â˘To make up for all the gifts he gave you- tho he said payback wasnât necessary because you were his love and life. You still worked to give him the best life in your shared home. It was only fair since he sheltered you and your heart, and kept your city as safe as he possibly could.
â˘During the time he was gone, you clean up your home, doing the laundry and fixing up his backup suits that got ruined on missions. And you found comfort in doing such, as they all smelled like him, no matter how much you washed them.
â˘And he liked it that way, he stopped asking Lyla for remakes of his suit when he found out your cute hands fixed his suits perfectly. He always kissed you deeply and called you âhis good girlâ once he had it on and it was good to go. Your hands also got sweet kisses as he praised you for your work.
â˘The city was messy and dark all the time, even while saving the world it had its dark places that were messy and particularly smelly, burning Miguelâs nose sometimes. But when he came home, he was met with the aroma of your sweet scent, it smelled like home and it was his favorite. And one of the best things, it was clean and orderly.
â˘Miguel loved seeing things in order and perfectly clean, and he had asked you if you had a maid to get all done perfectly- to which you said no. And he found out it was true (not that he didnât believe you) when one night he came home earlier than usual, and you were up dusting all the little trinkets on the shelf ever so delicately and efficiently.
â˘His favorite thing to do was come up to you quietly, wherever you were cleaning, and sweep you up in his arms, chuckling to himself when he heard your squeals as he held you up kissing your neck. Praising you for your time to keep things nice, but scolding you for not being in bed resting well and keeping the bed warm for him. Or if it was during the day heâd ask why youâre not reading or enjoying the afternoon.
â˘Oh and when you cook? OH- that makes Miguel the happiest (besides you and everything that involves only âyouâ) Heâs always starving after a long mission or day at Alchemax. So when he comes home smelling your homemade meals, heâs falling in love all over again. His heart growing twice itâs size at the sight of you singing lowly and stirring the pot... or kneading the dough for the empanadas.
â˘He tried telling you a few times that it was ok for take out once in a while, not wanting you to cool all the time, worried that you might think he only wants that from you if not. But you were always happy to make something new or his favorite, it made you proud when Miguel wore a smile while he ate, complementing,
â...mi amor, esto es delicioso.â (My love, this is delicious)
â˘You always let him know how proud of him you were. In actions or soft words, and heâd beam proudly and smile sheepishly. A tight hug and good kiss made it onto his lips everytime you caught him coming in through the door or fire escape. You wouldnât let a word escape until you both were out of breath from crashing lips, you was always the first to break to say how much you missed him- but heâd chase your lips like a mad man. Whining,
âDejame besarte!â (Let me kiss you!)
NSFW!
â˘He occasionally grew hard at the sight of you doing something that screamed âwifey materialâ. The cleaning, cooking, fixing, even resting on the couch reading a book- just everything about you made him crave you instantly at sight. So heâd take you wherever it was you were, of course if you wanted to- but youâve yet to say no (I mean who would-)
â˘Over the couch heâd take you from behind, whispering praises while kissing your neck, after he caught you reading your new book while resting over the armrest. Your little dress was so cute and gave him access to have you right away, pounding into your pussy slowly yet roughly. Letting his love for you sink in deeply. He loved marking your neck and caressing your sides as he did so.
â˘Since you were quiet and shy most of the time, even around him, heâd do the most open things to make you blush and push your buttons of pleasure to make you moan out loud, as you were shy at first. One day you were painting a picture of you and him, a replica of a photo you two took at the library, but soon- Miguel was digging his face in between your breasts kissing them softly while he fucked you against the incomplete painting, legs wrapped around his waist tightly. And you couldnât care about the painting- you didnât like it anyways after you messed it up earlier (after getting distracted by eyeing the picture too closely)
â˘One of Miguelâs favorite things to do was eat you from behind while you were tip-toeing trying to reach the top shelf to clean it. You hold onto it tightly while you felt his tongue swipe over your pussy and dig into you, making you pull his hair closer to you as he drew your high close right away, not relenting in eating you out like he starved for your taste. He lived for you coming undone on his face. And when he stayed home afterwards heâd kissed you to taste yourself on his lips, or when he had to go to work, he wear his mask over his coated lips with your juices- either way he leave himself full of you.
â˘And the kitchen was a good place- HIS FAVORITE PLACE TO FUCK YOU RAW. He was excited already to see his gorgeous, sweet and quiet house wife cook his delicious meals. But soon you became a moaning, crying mess, begging for him to fuck you harder as you were laying on the kitchen table, holding onto his shoulders tightly as he fucked you deeply. And you knew he was in to fuck you in the kitchen, when heâd come from behind you and lower the heat on the stove, if not turn it off.
â˘Letâs just say Miguel found a perfect wife in you, you completed him in every way and made him happy. From keeping his home warm and happy, safe and bright, to his heart held, loved and cherished- and beating wildly while he took you under his spell and ride of pleasure.
â˘And you? Could never get enough of Miguel, something of him was always on you, around you, and in you.. sometimes heâd leave his cum dripping from your pussy while you finished your things while he was gone. It made you blush crazy to know only he could pull that out of you, but he was your home and made you confident around him.. so why not?

can you please make a percy x reader one shot where the reader is from a small village and has never seen a large city? And percy shows the reader around Whitestone?
Oh ? I think I can write something down. My brain is feeling cooperative.
Thanks for the request ! (â ââ â˘â á´â â˘â ââ )
Percy was busy. Busy admiring your smile as you looked at some shop windows, busy admiring your eyes sparkling as you looked around with a dreamy and fascinated expression, and busy smiling when you sighed, appreciating the sight of the Sun tree now healthy under the warm sun.
"How majestic !" he heard you gasping.
He wasn't fond of being a touristic guide, plus, Whitestone was still healing from the wounds left by the Briarwoods. But seeing the admiration and the light in your gaze as you strolled in his city, the heritage of his family, the place he grew up in, made him feel so proud. For the first time in years, he felt at peace.
"Percy !" he heard you call him.
His eyebrows raised when he felt you grabbing his hand and gently squeezing it. You looked at him with these eyes he grew so fond of, and this smile that protected him from so many nightmares.
"Yes ?" he answered.
"Show me your favourite place in all Whitestone !" you excitedly said, gently shaking his arm. "It has to be out-doors, so no library allowed."
He tilted his head slightly, thinking as some memories flew to his mind. It has been years now, and the place was probably destroyed, but he wanted to show you, to share it with you. He led you through the streets now buzzing with life again, freed from fear and uncertainty. He took care of explaining the history of each street you were walking through and answering your questions. Then finally, you arrived at a desert square. The first thing you noticed was a majestic fountain. It still stood there among the cracks on the floor and destroyed buildings, its water still flowing with strength and pride. Then, on top of the fountain, you saw a statue representing the Sun tree.
"It's...still here," murmured Percival in relief.
He sat on the edge of the fountain, under the stone branches of the statue. He patted the space beside him and you immediately joined him.
"Let me guess," you hummed as you admired the shadows cast by the sculpture. "You liked to read here."
"I did," he nodded, his eyes venturing on the water before looking back at you. "What was your favourite place back in your village ?"
Your hand played with the water as his question slowly sank in.
"A little space under a small bridge leading to the center of the village," you said, your voice heavy with nostalgia. "Not really practical when the water of the stream raised, but I liked this place."
You looked back at him and he felt himself blushing. He cleared his throat then diverted his eyes on the water again.
"How do you find Whitestone so far ?"
You hummed softly as the wind slowly rised.
"A bit overwhelming compared to my village. But oddly homey despite its size."
He nervously cleared his throat again, his eyes still avoiding yours.
"Homey. So, do you agree that it is a perfect place for two people to grow old together ?"
You blinked in surprise at his words, but quickly smiled and nodded.
"Well, yes. It is oddly cozy for a large city," your fingers are still playing in the fresh water. "Why do you ask ?"
Percival felt too flustered to answer honestly. He turned his face away to hide his blushing cheeks.
"For nothing."

A/N: chapter concept was suggested by @scared-reader đť so if you like it thank them for the inspiring ask in the comments! (and feel free to submit your own if you've got an idea for me, you never know what's going to set off the unhinged writing monster in my soul đ

Chapter Selection
Damian was at my apartment again. He'd come over after school, and the look on his face suggested there was something weighing him down. I got him set up at the table to do his homework, knowing he wouldn't be ready to talk until he felt his responsibilities were complete, and ordered pizza. While he worked, I made my grandmother's brownies.Â
An hour later we were sitting on the floor in front of my tv, eating pizza and brownies, drinking soda, and playing mindless video games. Between rounds, Damian finally spoke up; â... There's an art show for our parents at my school next week ⌠Father couldn't make it last year, something came up at work.â
I frowned a bit; âThat sucks! ... Well, I'm sure he'll make it this year, yeah?â
â... Probably not. It's a busy time of year for him...â
âThat's not fairâŚâ
âIt is what it is.â On the surface he sounded nonchalant about it, but after months of getting to know each other I was starting to catch the subtleties of his mannerisms and tones. And when he said âit is what it is' I heard, clear as day, the ache of unexpressed sorrow; the kind of sorrow that makes you feel selfish and cruel for caring at all over something so seemingly trivial.
â... Well, I know I'm not a parent, but I am an adult in your life who loves ⌠your art. Think they'd let me come?â
â... You want to come?â he didn't even try to hide the surprise in his voice.
âOf course, if you're ok with it. ⌠I remember how disappointing it was when my parents didn't come to my after school stuff. ⌠Felt like I was the only kid in the room without an adult gushing over my work. I knew they were proud of me, they were just busy, but ⌠I wanted my interests to be their priority for just a few hours. It hurt, seeing everyone else's adults make time for them when mine couldn't, and I don't want you to have to go through that too. So if you're comfortable with it I would be honored to get to go to your art show!â
Damian blinked a few times, looking down into his lap, and nodded. â... Ok. ⌠Yeah, you ⌠you can come. ⌠It's Friday after school, from 4-6.â His voice came out a bit sharper than usual, like he was fighting to get the words out at all.
I smiled gently, pulling out my phone. âIt's going right in my calendar. Will you already be there?â He nodded. âPerfect, ⌠can Jace come too, or should I take the bus?â
Damian considered for a minute. â.... I suppose Todd can come. ⌠It would be difficult to use the city bus to get to my schoolâŚâ
I nodded. âThanks kiddo.â
He opened his mouth, frowning slightly; â... I ⌠why do you keep calling me that?â
I cringed slightly; âSorry Damian, I keep forgetting you don't like it. I like to give people affectionate nicknames, itâs sort of second nature at this point I guess. I'll do better, I promise.â
â... No, it ⌠it's ok, you don't have to stop. ⌠I'm still not Dami though.â
I grinned, nodding. âYou got it, kiddo.â Right, only Jon gets to call him Dami.
He nodded once, smiling a little.
Tears filled my eyes. The lump in my throat made it incredibly difficult to speak, but I had to say something; he was staring up at me with those big, guarded eyes, waiting for my response. â... Damian, it's-â
âPerfectâŚâ Jason's arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me against his chest.
Damian's section of the art show was filled with portraits of his family and friends. And right in the center, on one of the biggest canvases I'd seen outside of a museum, was a painting of the three of us on my couch; me and Damian facing each other with Jason in the middle, his hand on my knees, just like the time they'd spent the night. The casual intimacy of our poses and easy smiles on our faces were like a dream for the future, laid bare in front of us.
It wasn't as easy as the painting made it look, not yet, but maybe someday it would be.
I nodded, agreeing with Jason; âit's beautiful~ you're so talented! ⌠is ⌠is that really how you see me?â
Damian hadn't made me smaller; I was still round and soft in his painting, but instead of feeling insecure the portrait made me feel beautiful. The delicate, sweeping brush strokes that made up my body exuded warmth and tenderness. I wasn't entirely sure if it was my love for him that he'd seen and captured in the paint, or his own affection for me, but it was there on the canvas for all to see.
He tilted his head; â... I don't understand? That is what you look like.â
âYeah, but ⌠Damian, in a culture that teaches women that being big is bad, making a fat girl feel beautiful in her fatness is like the artistic equivalent of finding Bigfoot - there are people who say they have, but who actually believes them?â I smiled softly, looking into his confused eyes; âyouâve made me feel beautiful, Damian. ⌠Thank you.â
Jason hugged me tighter, kissing my shoulder; â... good job, demon brat~â
Damian flushed a bit, obviously pleased, and for a moment it looked like he was going to say something, but before he could, a tall woman came up behind him. She smiled warmly, looking at me; âah, you must be the panther tamer!â
Damian's entire demeanor changed in an instant, closing in on himself. I frowned, looking up at her; âexcuse me? ⌠Who are you?â
The woman ruffled Damian's hair, either not noticing or not caring about his grimace or minuscule flinch as she made contact; âIâm Mrs. Webster, Damian's math teacher! It's a miracle; ever since you've come into his life, our little wild cat here has finally retracted his claws! Finally dropping some of those nasty habits of his. I don't know what you're doing with him, but keep up the good work!â
â... So you did just say what I thought you said. ⌠Ok, bet.â I pushed Jason's arms off me and stepped forward until she stumbled back, making sure I ended up between her and Damian. âFirst of all; don't ever touch him again. Anyone with two brain cells can tell he doesn't like it.â
She stuttered, stepping back more; âah! It was just a hair ruffle-â
âDon't. Ever. Touch him. Secondly, he is a person, he's not a wild animal that needs to be tamed. What on earth makes you think that's an appropriate thing to say about one of your students?â
âHey now! I just meant that his behavior has gotten better, it's a compliment!â
I continued to walk toward her, slowly backing her into a corner. âShut. The fuck. Up. You were not complimenting him; you were othering him. He is a child in a foreign country with foreign, often contradictory culture; since coming here he has had to relearn everything about how life works and what's expected of him, and he has had to do it using English, one of the most obnoxious languages to learn, and probably the fourth or even fifth one he knows. He is expected to gracefully fold himself into an American household, go to an American school, and follow American customs; nothing in his life would have prepared him for any of that, but he has done it all, and he's done it while living under intense media scrutiny because of his family name. And on top of all that, he's also making all these life changes during one of the hardest parts of a person's development. He works hard every single day to navigate this life, often doing things he hates because they're expected of him, all for your comfort. Is it so much to ask that his teachers treat him with some basic fucking respect?â
She frowned, trying to interrupt me; âI was just-â
âNo, I'm talking, that means you shut your mouth. That boy, that brilliant, brave, kind young man was ripped from the life he knew, the good and the bad in it, sent away from his family and friends, to a supposed land of freedom and safety, and when he gets here he has to deal with mediocre minds like yours calling him an animal and praising the people who care about him for their âgood work' with him? Abso-fucking-lutely not.
I have done no work here; it is not work to meet him where he's at. It is not work to love that boy in whatever ways he's ready to accept. And it is certainly not work to treat him with respect. That is the bare fucking minimum. It is a joy and a pleasure to get to know him; he is a remarkable young man. On his worst day he is a better person than you are on your best. He is compassionate, and patient, and he is a good kid. How fucking dare you talk about him like there's something wrong with him being just the way he is? Who the hell do you think you are? What kind of racist shit-â
âHey now! I am not racist!â
The side of my fist made contact with the stone wall above her head. I took a deep breath, growling softly; âtell yourself whatever you need to. But you are going to keep a few things in mind going forward. Number one; anything you say or do to Damian will get back to me. Number two;â I smirked, chuckling darkly; âI am not afraid of jail time. So, for everyone's best interest; you will respect his boundaries, and you will think before you open your ignorant mouth. Because if I find out that you or anyone in this school has more inconsiderate, racist ass bullshit to say about my kid, I will be back. And from that day on, you will not know a moment of peace. Have I made myself clear, Mrs. Webster?â
She nodded quickly, eyes wide with fear, and I gave her the most condescending smirk I could before spinning on my heel to return to my boys. I only made it a few steps before Damian ran straight into me, arms wrapped tightly around my waist. His face buried into my chest, and his shoulders were shaking. I was almost pushed back by the force of him throwing himself at me, but I managed to stay standing. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders, one hand gently cupping his head, the other stroking his back.
We stood like that for a long while. I wasn't going to pull away first; this was the first time I'd seen Damian initiate physical contact with anyone, and I was not about to give him any reason to believe it had to stop before he was ready. He could have as much as he wanted for as long as he wanted it.
I looked up at Jason over Damian's head; I thought he looked a bit proud, leaning against the wall to watch us. He gestured to me that he was heading out of the room but would be back soon and I nodded, just continuing to hold the shaking boy in my arms. I ran my fingers through his hair gently, hoping it would soothe him, â... I'm sorry if I embarrassed you, DamianâŚâ
He shook his head, slowly releasing me. He didn't look up, but I could tell from the wet spot above my heart that he had been crying. â... Can we go home?â
âYeah, kiddo. Let's get you home.â
âNo, I mean ⌠your home?â
âOh, yeah, you can spend the night at mine. You can spend the whole weekend if you want. ⌠I'll tell your dad for you, if you want?â
He nodded, slowly taking my hand. â... Can we stop at the manor, so I can get a few things and feed my pets?â
âOf course we can.â I smiled softly, gently squeezing his hand, and led him out of the auditorium to find Jason.
Jay met us at the front office. âYou're being swapped into Mr. Desantis's math class, Damian.â
Damian nodded, staring at the floor in front of him. â... Thank you.â
Jason nodded, looking at our hands; â... We ready to go?â
âYeah. We're gonna stop at the manor so Damian can get some stuff, and then we'll all head home.â
Jason nodded, letting us lead the way. He walked behind Damian and over a bit, so the youngest Wayne was flanked by us. Damian watched his feet as we made our way to the car, smiling just a little. â... Are you really going to return if I tell you my teachers are still saying those things about me?â
I stopped next to the car, falling to one knee in front of him, and gently squeezed Damian's hands. His vibrant green eyes slowly met mine, and I had to bite back the rage boiling in my chest; he looked so fragile, like he expected me to say âno, you don't deserve it, take care of yourself'. â... Damian, if anyone says or does anything to make you feel inferior, I want you to tell them that you are not required to accept their mistreatment, and walk away. Then you call me. If I don't pick up it'll be because I'm still asleep or at work, you text me and then you call Jay, he will come get me, and we will come for you. Ok?â
â... You'd leave work?â
â... I feel like that's not as impressive as the fact that I'm willing to lose sleep over this, but yes; you are more important than work. I can easily get another job, what I can't and won't do is make you face their shit alone.â
He nodded slowly. â... Father said I'm not supposed to misbehave at school ⌠We have the public eye on usâŚâ
Jay growled softly; âI am certain that he didn't mean for you to accept that kind of bullshit from inferior minds. And if he did, he can take it up with me. You do not have to accept their cruelty. Not ever.â
Damian looked up at Jason slowly, nodding. â... Really?â
âReally.â

Twilight wolves x reader who has to leave for college? :>
I love this idea!
Sam
The two of you have known each other for years at this point. You were there when he first shifted, and when he imprinted, you felt like the entire world was right, at least for that moment. Sam shifted in his senior year of high school, so your relationship has been going strong for at least a year at this point.
Sam had never been academically focused; he was always more of a handyman, so he had planned to go to trade school, maybe in Port Angeles. Shifting had really destroyed that dream, as he had to stay near the reservation to lead the pack and make sure any of the new wolves were able to handle themselves. His entire world revolved around the pack, around the reservation, and around you, but he just didnât have any time to study. His grades dropped, and he barely went to class. Especially when more and more teens are shifting, heâs needed elsewhere to keep the peace.
Youâve always had higher ambitions. You wanted to leave the dreary environment of Forks for a big city, dreaming of the sparkling lights and opportunities. You wanted the sun and the soft turquoise waves of somewhere warm and pleasant, not the constant rain of Forks.
Sam wants you to go to college. He wants you to get an education and achieve your dreams. It would be hell for him, but heâd do anything for you. Luckily, when you met him, your priorities shifted. Suddenly, with the long walks in the woods with him shifted, the runs and the soft cuddles, you began to appreciate the luscious, vibrant green around you. You began to see the beauty in the soft, muted colors of La Push, the dark, deep swirling waves, the gravel crunching under your feet. You couldnât picture leaving his side any more than he could picture leaving yours.
Sam doesnât want you to give up on your dreams. He wants you to get out there, to experience life to the fullest. He begs you not to give up, and to apply for university, to get the education youâve been working for your whole life.
So, you apply to various Universities and Colleges in Seattle. Itâs a four hour drive from campus, where youâre staying, to Forks.
The two of you alternate; one weekend he drives up to see you and spends the night at your dorm, the next weekend you drive down to stay at the reservation and meet up with the pack and your lifelong friends.
Itâs hard, not being able to see you, but he knows youâre living life to the fullest, and heâs so proud of you.
Every time the two of you meet, he sweeps you into an all-encompassing hug. Itâs like the world is right again.
Constant calls and messages. You two talk for hours every night, making sure to regale each-other with the intricacies of your day even when nothing exciting happened.
He brags to everyone and anyone about how smart you are, how proud he is.
Paul
Paul is more protective. He doesnât want you moving where he canât follow. While heâd love to move with you, he canât; he needs to stay close to the others, to patrol and to protect the town and the people he loves. But even the thought of you being so far away is killing him. He has no clue what to do.
When you first mention moving away for University or College, Iâm not going to lie, the two of you get into a massive argument. Paul is convinced youâre leaving him, that youâre going to go date someone normal, that you canât handle the âfreak of natureâ anymore. Please reassure him this isnât true, he canât handle thinking you hate him.
Really, it all stems from the same source of protectiveness that fuels his every action toward you.
Once you convince him that no, you arenât moving so you can date a non-shifter and yes, you do love him, his anger eases up a bit and exposes that underlying anxiety driving his behavior, that fear of not being heard that forces him to be extra loud and in everyonesâ faces.
Understanding his behavior is key. You need to know he isnât acting out, he isnât angry, because he can be, heâs angry because itâs the only way he knows how to express his anxiety. Paul has spent his entire life being written off for who he is, and only that anger and that passion ensures heâs heard.
Tell him you understand his position, but that you canât budge on seeking an education. Tell him how important it is, how it feels like youâre trapped in Forks, how you need an opportunity to see the world before settling down.
Heâll understand. Hell, heâs in Leahâs head, heâs felt the same sense of being trapped and the longing to experience everything sheâs felt for her whole life.
Still, the thought of being too far away kills you, so you set your heart on Seattle. He gets a job working as a mechanic and starts really saving. Every penny goes toward his master plan.
Youâre living in the dorms and heâs driving you down to Forks as often as he can. He doesnât really love the city, but heâll put up with it for you
That first year is rough. Paul is naturally quite passionate, so not being able to wrap you up in a hug, not being able to fall asleep to your foreheads pressed together, to sleepy kisses with your eyes closed and your soft snoring, itâs hell for him.
So, a year into your degree, he rents an apartment for the two of you to stay in together. Itâs just temporary, after you finish your education he fully plans on moving back in to his old house and working at the shared garage the pack manages, but itâs the easiest way to be close to you. On the weekends you two drive down together to see the pack and to be close by, especially so he can patrol, but Sam understands how hard it is for Paul to be apart from you. Besides, the anxiety was driving him crazy, and subsequently driving the whole pack crazy through their bonds.
The apartment is small, and kinda dingy, but itâs perfect for the two of you. He once again gets a job as a mechanic in Seattle, working to make sure you can enjoy your education, and the two of you are inseparable. He loves driving you to campus and goes to every party and every event with you.
Jacob
Jacob encourages you to go to college right away. Just because he never got the chance doesnât mean he doesnât want that for you. Besides, heâd do anything for you, including putting up with a bit of distance and a long drive.
Unlike the others, Jacob always drives up to see you, never the other way around. He isnât as connected to the pack as the others.
Jacob wished he couldâve gotten the opportunity to go to trade school, but finances and the shifting and then everything with vampires made life too complicated and he couldnât go.
Heâs living vicariously through you.
Loves going to parties with you on campus, though can definitely get into a fight if another guy comes too close and definitely ends up punching someone who thought groping you was appropriate
Jacob isnât as clingy as the others, preferring to give you a bit of space. This is leftover from his time spent resisting the bond. A bit of him feels guilty he put the both of you in such pain, so heâs definitely a bit more willing to put in so much effort.
Loves when you send him pictures right before class; he gets to see how adorable you look with your hair mussed and your comfy clothes. Especially loves it if you wear glasses, you look so cozy.
A part of Jacob still feels insecure; itâs part of why heâs so willing to put some distance between the two of you. Heâs avoiding those massive emotions that come along with the bond, repressing them deep down.
Somewhere along your third year he just⌠breaks. Itâs hard for him to deal with the wave after wave after wave of longing, but he manages. Please convince him how much you care about him, he can be deeply insecure.
Overall supportive, but please help him figure out how he feels before he snaps himself in half over his suppressed emotions đ
Let me know if anyone wants more!

Howzer shifted uncomfortably in his spot. He had never been one to play politics, but the conversations that he had been overhearing of late had him worried.
He stood guard at the door while Cham Syndulla spoke with diplomats of various denominations around a large oval table, and all the talk of the newly risen Empire made his insides twist with an unpleasant feeling. There was something truly sinister in play, he just couldnât place it. Thatâs what distressed him the most about it.
He had heard of a new refinery that was situated at the edge of the city, heâd heard the rumours that the Empireâs methods were less than humane, that they were using slave labour. He didnât want to put stake in false claims, but the whispers were getting louder. He wouldnât dare speak of it to Cham, especially not now, while tensions were already so high.
He could see the focus on his superiorâs face, a displeased expression that he knew all too well; a deep frown on his lips that would turn the tide of any conversation to his favour. The senatorial representatives seemed unphased, however. Howzer presumed they were more familiar with the tactics of politicians, of which Cham wasnât recognised as by the senate, despite how much harder he had fought for Rylothâs freedom than Orn Free Taa. The Hammer of Ryloth would fall on anyone in his path eventually, no matter how they were resisting his opening gambit, Howzer knew that.
It was what worried him the most.
There was no way Cham would be allowed to continue partaking in senator-level discussions, not when it was well known how the true senator of Ryloth felt threatened by his mere existence. He worried what Cham would do then. He could never be forced into subservience.
âCaptainâ the voice of his superior called to him, and he straightened, his gaze shifting over to the Twiâlek who approached, âis everything alright?â
âEverything is fine, sirâ he replied assuredly, a respectful nod accompanying his words.
The diplomatic guests filed out of the door beside him, and Cham gave him an unsubtle and questioning look.
âWell thenâ he motioned to the door, âwe are now to meet Senator Orn Free Taa in the foyerâ
Howzer visibly cringed as he left the room behind Cham. He had never liked the politician. It was clear how little interest he had in his people, and how all of his attention was instead focused on making himself seem more important. Howzer didnât play politics, but it didnât take a genius to see that much.
He stalked down the hallway in silence, one step behind Cham, who in turn kept his distance from the senatorial reps.
âWhat is it Captain?â the Twiâlek asked him in a hushed voice, turning to face him.
Howzer sighed, looking to the floor ahead of him, ânothing sir, itâs just been a long weekâ
âHmâ Cham seemed unconvinced by his explanation, but he took it anyway, âit has been indeedâ
At the start of the week, Howzer was still a soldier of the Republic. He was still a Captain in the Grand Army. Now? He wasn't sure what he was, or what he would become either. His men had been acting exceeding strangely, and he didn't know what to make of it. He figured that if he kept his head down and followed orders, something would come to light eventually.
The elevator ride down to the ground floor was quiet, and Howzer couldnât have been more uncomfortable. The ping that let them know they had arrived brought a welcome reprieve to the tense atmosphere that surrounded the discontented politicians.
Cham's wife, Eleni, swept down stairs opposite, lifting the hem her gown in one hand. She held herself with the grace of a queen, acting accordingly, and Howzer had the utmost respect for her. He gave her a steady bow of his head, and she smiled warmly at him in return before greeting her husband with a kiss to his cheek.
âWhere is our guest, my dear?â Cham spoke, running a hand down her arm.
Eleni chuckled, a pleasant and breathy sound, âBe patient my loveâ
Howzer kept his distance, hovering at the edge of everything. He preferred not to be involved, it was only his job to stand guard after all, and it was certainly no shame to miss out in conversation with Orn Free Taa.
The grand doors that opened into the square parted, a party of four being ushered in. It was unusual, ordinarily there was only the Senator and two of his aides. Howzer paid it no mind, keeping his gaze on those he was charged with protecting.
That was until his eyes caught the lilac skin of the fourth Twi'lek to enter the room. Her demeanour was a stark contrast to that of her counterparts. She bore a plain expression, and had none of the smug self-importance that the others had so perfected. Her clothes were a little more grandiose than the other aides, robes of rich velvet and silk hanging from her frame, cinched against skin and flowing freely in equal parts. She looked regal, and yet, there was something reserved about her appearance, as if she didn't want to make herself known.
For all that she hadnât caught the attention of the other people present, Howzer could scarcely take his eyes from her.
âSenatorâ Cham welcomed him inside, âhow wonderful it is to see youâ
Howzer could hear how strained his voice was in saying the false words, and in the reply from the Senator even more so. He was not interested in the specifics of the mock flattery between the rival Twi'leks, he instead turned his focus to the woman who insisted on hiding herself behind the Senator.
He trailed his eyes down her lekku, which stretched past her waist and were adorned by pale swirling markings, reaching forwards towards her face and beneath her headdress. Her eyes were darkened by makeup, but when her irises met his, he was struck by the spark of life within them.
Her eyes found his a number of times throughout the exchange, the only two people who were not engaged in conversation. He tried to keep from staring entirely, not wishing to make her uncomfortable or seem improper, but his eyes always found their way back.
Eventually, Eleni addressed her, finally noticing the person who hung back from the Senator.
âWhat is your name? I don't think we've met beforeâ she asked, taking her hand to shake.
You went to speak, but the Senator beat you to it.
âThis is my aideâ he explained, giving your name.
You looked at the man with a small amount of contempt before giving a polite nod to Eleni, âitâs a pleasure to meet you maâamâ
The sound was music to Howzer's ears. Your accent was similar to that of the other Twi'leks, though softened slightly, as if you had been off world for a long time.
Eleni smiled graciously, âthe pleasure is all mineâ
You stepped backwards, your hands folded neatly in front of you, and the conversation shortly dwindled. Cham was finding he had little to say to the pompous Senator, and luckily he was saved by way of his daughter, Hera, invading the room with her droid in toe.
Howzer smiled at the sight, and even more when Orn Free Taa looked visibly uncomfortable at the intrusion. He kept his head down from that point on, for fear of being called out for laughing at the Senator. He instinctively glanced over at you once more, and was pleasantly surprised to see you also having to hide your laughter.
Your lips were twisted in a smirk, your hand coming up to partially cover it, but from the angle, nothing was hidden from the clone. Your eyes met his, and a small moment passed between you, both of you having to try harder to supress your chuckles.
Howzer was convinced by that simple action alone, without having spoken to you himself, that in time he would find you to be the most welcome company.
When Howzer left the barracks the following morning, he was displeased to find that the air outside still felt heavy. It had been this way since the shift in power, an invisible mist that surrounded the people of Ryloth, but specifically his men. He took a deep breath, seeking some of the fresh air that should be present on sunny mornings such as this one, but evidently the powers of the galaxy didnât see fit to reward him with any relief.
His walk towards the senate bureau was short enough, but Howzer revelled in every moment he could. Before long heâd be holed up inside once more, listening to overzealous politicians discuss the future of the planet, as if they knew the first thing about the inhabitants of it. Howzer couldn't help but feel resentful towards the bureaucrats. They posed as public servants, but being inside their talks, he knew they only cared for themselves. It was the reason that Cham and his freedom fighters had even had to step up during the war.
He tried not to let it weigh on his mind. There was nothing he could do to fix it, after all, and with the Empire on the rise, he wouldnât presume that anyone else could either. He held back a sigh as he turned the corner into the square that the bureau overlooked, not needing to be questioned on why he looked so utterly defeated. As he strode across the square, his eyes caught on a glimmer of light, shining and dancing in the early morning sun, which he discovered had bounced from your silver headwear.
Howzer didnât expect to see you again so soon, and he couldn't help but notice how utterly lost and confused you looked, wandering along the edge of the square and glancing all about the place. He smiled softly, adjusting his grip on his helmet, and changed direction to cross in your path.
âAre you alright miss?â he asked softly, not wishing to scare you.
You whirled around nonetheless, evidently a little surprised that someone had approached you. The moment your eyes caught his, he could see the embarrassment flash across them, and you let out a quiet self-deprecating chuckle.
âI appear to be lostâ you informed him, though he had already figured that much out.
Instead of telling you that, he asked, âwhere are you headed?â
âUm⌠I'm not entirely sureâ you admitted, a mauve blush appearing across your cheeks. Howzer gave you a patient smile as you collected yourself, finding it hard not to be instantly enamoured by you. âMight you know where the Senator resides?â you asked him, a hopeful look in your eyes.
He nodded, âI can show you the way if you likeâ
Your eyes lit up a little at his words, âthat would be lovely, though I do hope it's not too far out of your wayâ
âIt's notâ Howzer assured with a kind smile, âthis wayâ
You followed the clone trooper silently across the square, and he took stock of you in a flick of his eyes. Your robes were a dark plum colour, a little less formal than the queenly attire you had been wearing the previous day, but exceedingly opulent nonetheless. It was hard not to notice the clothes that you wore, not only because of their sophistication, but also because he himself never changed from the armour that he currently wore on his back.
âHow long have you been working for Senator Taa?â he inquired, holding open the door to the building.
He noticed the way you sighed, squaring your jaw before you spoke, âa little over 3 yearsâ
âSo⌠you live on Coruscant?â he prompted, aiming to move the conversation from the imperious senator.
âI didâ you looked up at him as you walked in tandem, a sad smile pulling at the corner of your lips.
Howzer instinctively raised his brows a little, âyou don't like it here?â
âI doâ you confirmed in an assured voice, your hands closing around your robes and lifting them an inch as you began climbing the stairs, âitâs my home planet, itâs justâŚâ
Howzer watched the way your throat tightened as you forced yourself to swallow, burying your words. The action was filled with all the grace and restraint of a politician, though it was obvious that something was bothering you.
You gave him a smile that didnât quite reach your eyes, âI shouldnât say. Itâs not my placeâ
Howzer nodded with an amiable enough expression, though his eyes observed your movements carefully. Your fingers slotted together as the two of you reached the top of the stairs, hands joined in front of your robes, your gaze ahead of you, fixed and steady, and your mouth a hard line. You were impossible to read, and he found it more than a little unnerving.
âWhat about you?â you turned your attention to the clone beside you, âdo you like it here?â
Howzer was a little startled. Aside from his brothers, no one but Cham or Eleni ever asked him about himself. There was an expectancy in your eyes however, something kind and patient as you waited for him to reply, something that told him you cared to know his answer.
âOh, wellâ he began a little inelegantly, âanything is better than Kamino, I supposeâ
You chuckled, a charming sound that made Howzerâs heart flutter with pride, âhave you always been stationed here?â
âFor most of my time in the war, yesâ he replied, guiding you through a doorway and towards the office that the two of you had been searching out.
The hall was far more luxurious than those which Howzer usually passed through. There were grand arches and satin curtains which swayed gently in the breeze, the lavish wooden windows thrown open to overlook the city. Your imposing garb didnât seem so garish here, it just made Howzer feel underdressed.
âWell, this is itâ he smiled cordially, gesturing a gloved hand to the door at the end of the hall.
âThank youâ you stopped, squaring your shoulders with his and giving him an apologetic look, âIâm sorry, I didnât even ask your nameâ
Howzer couldnât help but smile at you with more intention. He had never known a politician apologise to him.
âItâs Howzerâ he spoke, âand itâs a pleasure to make your acquaintance, maâamâ
You let out a breathy laugh, shaking your head slightly and a certain twinkle in your eye, âthe pleasure is all mine, as long as you donât call me that againâ
Howzer huffed a small laugh, âcertainly, my apologiesâ
âNo need for apologiesâ you waved him off, âbut thanks are in order, I would never have found my way here without youâ
You held out your hand, and it took a moment for Howzer to register what was going on. He hesitated for a second longer even so, unsure if it was proper conduct to be touching senate officials, but your gracious expression made him give in. He took your hand and shook it firmly, though not gripping too hard for how delicate it looked wrapped by his fingers.
âAnytimeâ he bowed his head in respect and let his hand fall from yours as he exited the hallway.
Howzer could now admit that he was entirely fascinated by you. To him, you gave the air of such importance, especially as you were only an aide. Aside from that, you were unlike any of the other senate members he had had the misfortune of crossing. The difference being that you actually seemed pleasant to be around.
He took the route towards Chamâs office, and he had to suppress the grin that threatened to take over his face. He didnât exactly know what he was grinning about, but he felt anything that could draw such a reaction from him in the troubling times he inhabited surely couldnât be a bad thing.
The next few days passed in a blur of tedious meetings and rising tensions, and Howzer just kept his head down, staying out of everything. It was a welcome respite from the all-out conflict against the separatists, but he still couldnât help but find it exceptionally dull.
As he had hoped, he had crossed paths with you reasonably often. He came to realise that you didn't speak an awful lot, or that you only spoke when you had something notable to say. You were practically silent in senate discussions, though you had a seat at the table. It only made Howzer more intrigued and confused, since the other aides stood behind the Senator, whereas your place was beside him.
You were always engaged, though it was clear that you aimed to keep to yourself. A number of times he could see you holding back, and he came to recognise the tick in your jaw when someone said something you disapproved of. It was fascinating to watch you work. You were the only one that took notes in meetings, the only one that seemed entirely immersed, and yet, you said so few words.
He couldn't fully understand the way you went on, and it only made him think that there was more to you than met the eye. The way you carried yourself was something curious to him. You were elegance incarnate, unaffected by your heavy robes and gliding around almost as if you were a ghost, hauntingly beautiful.
The most thrilling thing of all was that you made sure to speak with him every time you passed him by. It was always a simple âgood morningâ or âgood afternoonâ, but he couldn't ignore the way it sent a shiver running down his spine, especially as your words were always accompanied by an affectionate smile, your eyes sparkling.
He found you entirely charming, and even more so when he often saw you sat outside of an evening, under a tree that the barracks overlooked, a flimsibook in hand and stylus working furiously against it. He greatly desired to know what you were writing. The scene was like something from a painting, similar to the ones he'd seen in the more grandiose corners of the senate bureau; your robes fanned out around you at the bottom of a tall whiptree, your expression thoughtful as you scribbled words down onto the pages of the leatherbound book. The dying light hit your skin in a similar fashion as those brush strokes, a warm glow that made you look ethereal, as if you had been someone's muse.
Howzer had even caught himself leaning on the window ledge, watching you write, and then internally scolded himself when he realised what he was doing. It was entirely improper to be fawning over a senate official, he knew that. There was just something about you he couldn't quite figure out, and he was determined to know what it was.
It was around midday when Cham addressed the people of Ryloth, Orn Free Taa at his side, with a speech that he had been preparing for a number of days now. You hung back from him, standing beside Eleni, and Howzer found himself edging forwards so he was in earshot of your conversation. His ears perked up the sound of your laugh. It was something he hadnât heard since your first encounter.
âI couldnât sayâ you replied to whatever Eleni had asked, âordinarily I don't accompany Senator Taa to meetingsâ
âOh? How comeâ
Howzer watched the way your shoulders sagged as a sigh escaped you, âTruth be told, we donât usually work so closely. I represent him in the senate when heâs⌠otherwise engagedâ
âYouâre a senate representative?â Eleni asked, her tone surprised, âI could have sworn the Senator introduced you as his aideâ
âYes, wellâŚâ you jaw ticked with indignance, your voice becoming hushed, âthe Senator doesnât really seem to understand the work I do in his steadâ
âI seeâ Eleni matched your quiet tone, âThough⌠if you represent him in his absence, why are you here on Ryloth? Shouldn't you have remained on Coruscantâ
You didn't answer for a moment, and Howzer tried to gauge your thoughts. You gave nothing away, as always. His eyes followed the movement of your arms as you slotted your hands together behind your back, disappearing beneath your robes. It was clear that whatever you were about to divulge was not for the ears of everyone, so you must have trusted Eleni more than he realised.
âThe Emperor saw fit to⌠relocate meâ you admitted.
Howzer's eyebrows raised in surprise.
âThe Emperor?â Eleni asked, her tone incredulous, âwhy does the Emperor want you here?â
You swallowed, glancing behind you, and Howzer averted his eyes as to not get caught listening in.
âI think it was more about me not being on Coruscantâ you said lowly, your voice dripping with unease, though carefully measured.
Howzer was alarmed. What did you mean? What possible reason could the Emperor have for getting rid of you?
In any case, Eleni's own questions died on her lips as the Senator and her husband returned from the front of the room. Orn Free Taa addressed you, your name sharp on his tongue as he instructed you to accompany him to his office without so much as looking in your direction. You nodded and said a courteous goodbye to Eleni as you turned to follow him with Cham on your heels.
Your eyes flicked towards Howzer as you passed by him, and you gave a warm smile. There was a certain glint in your eyes, a small flicker of repressed amusement that didn't go unnoticed by him. He gave you a respectful nod, taking his place one step behind Cham as the four of you walked towards the Senator's office.
The session that followed was hard to sit through. It felt like a mutiny against Cham, whilst dancing around the fact that that's what was going on. The bureaucrats that had travelled from Coruscant rallied behind whatever the Senator was saying, and Howzer could feel his own anger and irritation bubbling up on Cham's behalf.
As if that wasn't enough, the session ran late, and the sun began to set as the heated discussion continued. Howzer kept half an eye on you, and though you stayed quiet, he could see the way your jaw was set. He felt that if you tensed it any harder then it would snap. He couldn't help but wonder why you wouldn't speak up if you so clearly didn't agree, and especially now knowing that you had more authority than most of the people in the room.
By the time some form of conclusion had been reached, the sun had fully sunk beneath the horizon. The senate members filed out of the room, but he saw you pull Cham aside. You spoke in a soft voice, and he couldn't hear what was being said, but the deep crease in your brow gave away the seriousness of your words. Cham nodded along, and then sighed, replying with a comforting hand on your shoulder. Howzer stood at attention until it was just you three left, and gripped his helmet a little tighter when your gaze wandered his way. You straightened, stepping back from the other Twi'lek with a gracious smile.
âWell, anyway, I should be getting back to my residenceâ you said, your voice raised from the hushed tone.
âOf courseâ Cham gestured to the exit, âThough, I would ask you to take extra caution, with it being darker than usualâ
âI willâ you nodded, making your way over to where Howzer was stationed at the door.
âAhâ Cham said suddenly, his eyes landing on the clone, âyou know Captain Howzer, correct?â
Your eyebrows raised slightly as your eyes moved from the Twiâlek and over to Howzer, and he kept his expression as neutral as possible, despite being cautiously optimistic about your reaction.
âI doâ you smiled at him, the slight tip of your head as you added, âCaptainâ
The inflection made it difficult for Howzer to keep a straight face, but he managed to supress his smirk nonetheless.
âHowzer, if you could escort the our guest here home, I would be very gratefulâ Cham addressed him.
âCertainly, sirâ Howzer obliged, and followed the pair out of the room.
âPerhaps we can continue our conversation tomorrow?â You suggested to Cham as you descended the stairs, your voice airy and light, feigning innocence to anyone listening in.
âYes, I was thinking the same thingâ Cham replied, a glance in your direction that was not as subtle as your calculated demeanour.
Howzer trailed behind, keeping his distance and standing by the large doors while you said your goodbyes. You turned back towards him as Cham's receding footsteps rang out in the grand entrance hall, a tired smile gracing your lips.
âShall we?â you asked, and Howzer promptly opened up the door, escorting you outside.
The air outside was cool, a light breeze gently rustling and scattering leaves along the stone floor of the town square. The feint scent of lavender hung in the air, and despite the amount of people moving about, civilians and clones alike, it felt still, calm.
âI didn't realise you were a Captainâ you commented, looking up at him with a wry smile curving your lips.
Howzer couldn't hold back his smirk any longer, âI suppose we were both downplaying our roles thenâ
A soft laugh escaped you, and you shook your head at him, âI knew you were listening to thatâ
He shrugged, not sure what else to say for himself. He knew it wasnât necessarily appropriate to be listening in on private conversations, no less private conversations that concerned the senate, but your expression told him you didn't mind all that much.
âSo what do you usually do on Coruscant then?â he asked, taking his helmet in his other hand so he could inch marginally closer and hear you clearer.
You took a breath before you spoke, âfor the most part, I attended senate sessions in his steadâ
âHow often did he have you doing that?â he questioned, lifting the branch of a tree as you passed underneath.
âWellâŚâ you began, looking back ahead of you, âif I'm being honest, probably nine times out of tenâ
Howzer's eyebrows raised, âyou're essentially a Senator thenâ
You shook your head, a pessimistic chuckle leaving your lips, âwhatever I was, it doesn't matter anymoreâ
Howzer knew when to keep quiet, and with the way your mask of stoicism swiftly covered your features again, he held his tongue. He had endless questions he wanted to ask you, and it took everything within him to keep his mouth shut.
Soon enough, you stopped outside a dwelling, a ground floor apartment with very little affluence to its outward appearance. If he had passed it by on his own, he never would have thought it belonged to a Senator, as he was now coming to think of you as.
âThank you for the escort, Captainâ you smiled up at him, âit seems I'm making a habit of dragging you aroundâ
Howzer chuckled, especially as it didnât seem like you were all that sorry about it, âI don't mind, I couldn't say it's really an inconvenienceâ
âI'm gladâ you replied with a simper that set something alive inside of him.
He observed you for a moment. You were a little shorter than him, but your presence dwarfed him all the same, and he could feel the tips of his ears burning at your steady gaze. For all that you lived in Orn Free Taa's shadow, more literally than figuratively, you seemed exceptionally sure of yourself. It was a quiet confidence, where your imposing nature came from rationality and restraint, rather than in seeking unabashed dominance, like some other politicians. If you'd been raised in a different setting, he thought that you'd make a good soldier because of it.
âWell, thank you againâ you spoke a little quieter, your hand raising to the control panel beside the door.
Howzer gave you a polite nod as he stepped back, âanytime
You shortly disappeared behind the door, and Howzer turned to make his way to the barracks for the night. He rolled his neck, feeling the soreness that lingered there after a full day of keeping at attention.
His body still wasn't used to standing around all day, and neither was his mind, despite the fact that he felt he should be at peace. It was odd, really. He was in his element when in battle, and without it, he didn't know that he'd ever truly feel like himself again.
The following week passed without much consequence, but the mounting pressure was beginning to feel stifling.
Howzer had been stuck inside all morning with Cham, going over and rethinking the defence of the refinery just outside the city. It wasn't entirely clear to Howzer why it was so pertinent to guard the refinery so closely, but he wasn't in the mood for asking questions anymore. It was more for the fear of the answers he would get, especially from the Empire.
Finally, Cham dismissed him for lunch, and as it was far later than his usual lunch hour, he allowed him to take the rest of the day off as well. Howzer fully intended to join him again after he had replenished himself, but those plans were scrapped when he walked into the mess hall and saw you sitting in the back corner.
You looked so out of place. Your luxurious navy robe and silver jewellery only made you more noticeable, not to mention your pale lilac skin and lekku, but you were also the only other person in the room. You looked forlorn, and more outwardly emotional than he had ever seen you before. Your chin rested in your hand, your gaze fixed out of the window, and your lips were turned down in a frown.
Howzer called your name as he approached the table, and you whipped your head over to him, evidently having been lost in your thoughts. You gave him your best attempt at a smile, âCaptain, how are you?â
Howzer brushed past the question, barely even registering it as he took the seat opposite you, âwhat are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with the Senator?â
âAh, yes. WellâŚâ you trailed off for a moment, your eyes wandering back outside, âhe dismissed me for the rest of the dayâ
Howzer frowned, âwhy? isn't that a good thing?â
You let out a humourless laugh, and your shoulders slumped in defeat. âHe doesn't like when people speak out against himâ you shrugged with a nonchalance that Howzer didn't quite believe, âI should know better reallyâ
You hid your affliction well, but for Howzer, who had grown accustomed to your usual impassive expression, it was obvious that you were upset.
âWhat are you doing in here?â he asked, lowering his voice to what he hoped was a comforting tone.
âI didn't want to be around the other aidesâ you said, then glanced back at him with one side of your lips quirked up, âand I thought no one would be in here at this timeâ
Howzer huffed a laugh, âI'm sorry for disturbing you thenâ
âDonât beâ you smiled, genuinely this time, âI'm notâ
Howzerâs eyebrows raised instinctively, a little taken aback by your candour. He supposed that you had never been anything but honest, so it shouldn't surprise him that much. You had withheld things, even obviously so, but you had never not made your opinion known when speaking truthfully.
âAs it happensâ he began, watching your reaction carefully, âI have the rest of the day off as wellâ
Your head tilted, almost imperceptibly, and you raised an eyebrow, encouraging him to go on.
âI could keep you company, if you'd likeâ he suggested.
Your lips lifted at his words, âI'd like thatâ
âAlright thenâŚâ Howzer smiled, looking out the window and then back to you, âhave you eaten yet?â
You shook your head.
Howzer stood from his seat, âLet's go thenâ
Your eyebrows raised as you followed suit, stepping out of the bench and readjusting your robes, âlet's go where?â
âI know a placeâ he shrugged, struggling to hold back his grin at your cautious expression.
You rolled your eyes in a playful manner as you fell into step beside him, âI didn't take you as one for clichĂŠs, Captainâ
âSorryâ Howzer chuckled as he held open the door to the corridor, âit'll be worth it, I promiseâ
âAlrightâ you conceded with the ghost of a smirk crossing your face.
Soon enough the two of you were making your way through the marketplace, vendors and civilians alike milling about around you. There was a sense of joy in this area of the city that Howzer rarely got to see, an innocence, as if the war had never even happened. Children played together, chasing after each other while their parents watched on with bright smiles, eyes full of love.
âThis wayâ Howzer said, gently guiding you down a side street, his hand accidently brushing your lower back as he placed a protective arm around you body to shield you from the hustle and bustle.
âYou don't need to do that, Captainâ you told him, âI'm not made of glassâ
âSorry, just doing my jobâ he insisted.
âBy bringing me to some secret lunch spot?â you asked, raising an eyebrow.
Howzer huffed a laugh and his hand instinctively curled around the back of his neck, âIâ uh, perhaps notâ
âIâm just teasingâ you smiled, âI don't expect you to do your job while you're not on dutyâ
âThen perhaps you can stop calling me Captainâ he suggested, his heart beating a little faster, hoping you wouldn't see the request as improper.
Thankfully, you let out a small chuckle, âI suppose that makes senseâ
Shortly, you came upon a stand that smelled divine, and the vendor's eyes shone as she saw Howzer approaching.
âCaptainâ she beamed, âit's been too longâ
âIt hasâ Howzer smiled back politely, âwe'll just get two of the regularâ
âOf courseâ the Twi'lek then cast her eyes to you, sweeping her gaze down your regal attire, âwho's this?â
Howzer was going to answer, but you beat him to it, giving your name, and nothing else. He raised an eyebrow at you, wondering why you were so adverse to admit your importance, but you just glanced at him and subtly shook your head.
âWell, it's a pleasureâ the vendor smiled, eyes darting between the two of you ânever known the Captain here to bring anyone else with himâ
âIs that so?â you asked, a wry smile curling your lips as you tilted your head to him.
Howzer could feel himself blushing, his cheeks burning as he looked down, âyeah, I guess notâ
âSorry Captainâ the vendor chuckled, handing over two small boxes of food, âthat'll be 15 creditsâ
Howzer busied himself with digging through the pouches in his belt, and pulling out the credits to hand over. Before the vendor could take them, you placed your hand on his arm to stop him.
âPlease, let meâ you insisted, pulling out your own credits from your pocket.
Howzer said your name in an aporetic tone, âyou can't expect me to let you pay when I'm the one who brought you hereâ
âThat's exactly what I expectâ you spared him a glance as you counted your credits, and you looked startlingly serious.
âNoâ he shook his head, trying to hand over the credits again, âI won't let youâ
You grabbed his arm and this time tugged it down, your gaze stern, âyou willâ
Howzer was more than a little confused by your actions, but he wasn't going to refuse what felt eerily like an order. A force of habit, perhaps, but the look in your eye was something fierce that he didn't want to be on the receiving end of again.
He let you hand over the credits to the vendor, whose lips were twisted in an amused smirk, an eyebrow raised at him. He waved it off, and led the two of you away, throwing a thank you over his shoulder as you left.
âSorryâ you looked up at him with more bashfulness than heâd ever seen from you, âI didn't mean to be rudeâ
âDon't worry about itâ he smiled reassuringly, choosing not to dwell on it too much.
You mirrored his gesture back to him and then looked towards where he was leading you.
âSoâ you began, âwhere are you taking me now?â
Howzer's lips twitched with a smirk, âI told you, I know a placeâ
A genuine laugh escaped you, and Howzer's heart sang at the sound, âyou're really talking it upâ
âTrust me, it's worth the mysteryâ he claimed.
âAlrightâ you smiled with a light shake of your head, âI'll trust youâ
Howzer led you out of the city, the streets becoming increasingly empty as you strolled, and the cheerful cries of children playing were exchanged for birdsong. The edge of the city gave way to a forest, tall whiptrees casting spindly shadows onto the outer buildings and scattering the floor with leaves.
As you made your way between the trees, you lifted the hem of your robes, an instinctual move on your part, but Howzer could only think about how graceful the action was. Your head was angled towards the ground, taking in the way the afternoon sun shone through the leaves and spread shadows across the forest floor.
Before long, the forest path opened up and you came upon a lake, the water a deep blue colour and glittering as it gently swayed in the breeze. Half of it was cast in shadow as a part of the cliff face above jutted out and hung over the body of water. Your eyes were full of wonder looking upon it, and he couldnât take his own eyes away from your awe-struck expression.
âThis isâŚâ you failed to complete your sentence as you looked up at him with a wide grin, something of childlike wonder and pleasant surprise.
âItâs nice, right?â he said, taking a seat on a soft patch of grass by the side of the lake, gesturing for you to do the same.
âYeah, you werenât kiddingâ you laughed, your eyes dancing with amusement as you took your seat across from him, âthis is some place you knowâ
Howzer allowed himself a smug look, a shrug to soften it, âtold youâ
He passed your food over, and popped the lid from his as you did the same. You inhaled through your nose, taking in the sweet yet spicy scent of the meal, and his lips lifted as you looked pleased by it. You both dug in using the utensil provided, and Howzer felt his shoulders relax as you let out a contented noise, your eyes closing for a moment to savour the taste.
âGood?â he prompted.
âVeryâ you nodded, opening your eyes, âyou sure know how to spoil a girlâ
Howzer could feel his cheeks burning as he chuckled and turned his attention down to his food. Your wry smile and the teasing glint in your eye was frankly too much for him to deal with if he wanted to maintain an air of professionalism, so he kept his head down for the remainder of the meal. It wasn't hard, the food was delicious after all.
âHowzerâ your voice called to him, using his given name for the first time, âcan I ask you something?â
âOf courseâ he said, placing his empty box down next to where you had left yours and giving you all of his attention again.
âWhy is it that you're stationed in the senate bureau? If you're a Captain, I would have thought you might be elsewhereâ you clarified.
âOhâ he looked past you for a moment, searching for the right words, âwell, now that the war is over, I don't serve the same purpose. Cham trusts me, I suppose â we work well together, so for the time being, I'm stationed with himâ
You nodded as he spoke, taking a moment to understand the information before you spoke up again. It was the very practiced act of a politician, and Howzer noted the concentration in your eyes that he only usually saw in meetings.
âCham isn't a fan of the Senator, is he?â
Howzer hesitated, giving you a dubious look.
âI'm just curious, I'm not going to speak of it with anyone elseâ you assured him, and he relaxed a touch.
âNo, we're not big fans of him, reallyâ he admitted.
Your lips curled into a smirk instantly, âwe?â
Howzer realised his slip up, a nervous laugh escaping him, âuhâ yeah, I'm not a fan of politicians in general I supposeâ
This time your eyebrow raised, and Howzer realised the error of his ways before you even spoke.
âI meanâ no, I didn't mean it like thatââ he tried to explain himself.
âRelaxâ you laughed, interrupting his ramblings with a hand over his forearm, âI don't like them eitherâ
The weight of your hand delicately placed over his vambrace was surprising, but that's not what made Howzer raise his brows.
âWhy not? You work with themâ
âExactlyâ you huffed, drawing back from him.
He watched on as you turned towards the lake and stretched out your legs, a brown pair of boots emerging from beneath your robes. They looked out of place poking out from the rich navy material, oddly comfortable among all the opulence. He supposed that they weren't usually visible, and it felt like a strange look into your psyche, who you were beneath all of the political propriety.
âIt's odd, being back on Rylothâ you mused quietly, you eyes trailing the cliff which hung over the lake, leaning back on your palms.
âHow so?â Howzer asked, slumping forward to rest his elbows on his knees.
âWell, I'm not from around here. It's like being home, but not reallyâ you paused, tilting your head a little âand I suppose I'm more used to being on Coruscant now.â A small crease formed in your brow as you continued to speak candidly, âI've justâ I've been so busy, for years, and now⌠well, I'm back to being a shadowâ
Howzer frowned, âyou want to be⌠important?â
âNoâ you said straight away, shaking your head, âI don't need to be important, I just want to be usefulâ
Howzer heard how defeated you sounded, but he saw it even more in the look on your face. Your mouth turned downwards in a frown and your eyes flicked towards your feet as you kicked your heel into the ground. He called your name gently, and your head snapped over to him.
âWhy did the Emperor send you away?â
You sighed as you turned your body towards him again, you legs curled up beside you, âI can't know for sure, but⌠it's most likely because I was too vocalâ
âVocal?â Howzer asked in surprise. You were so quiet in the sessions he had attended that it seemed out of the question.
You chuckled, âyes, even when he was the Supreme Chancellor, he didn't like that I was one of very few who actually called for change within the senateâ
âWhat kind of change?â
âIt was things such as⌠improved spending policy, advocating for clone rights, fair distribution of relief supplies amongââ
âClone rights?â he interrupted, âwhat do you mean?â
âWell, I'm sure you're well aware that the clone army aren't recognised within the senate, you'reââ you paused, âyou're property, for want of a better term, to the Republic, and now the Empire. You don't get a choice in whether you serve or not, and you're not paid for it, it's essentially slave labourâ
Howzer didn't know how to feel about it being put so bluntly. They were things he'd considered before, especially since the birth of the Empire, but to hear it so concisely described, it put a nasty feeling in the pit of his stomach.
âSorry, I didn't mean toââ
âNo, youâre rightâ he said, dragging his eyes away from you.
âBut that's why it's important; a bill put forward against it would seek to give you the option to serve, and a wage should you choose toâ
âDo you think it would pass?â he asked.
The sigh that left your lips gave him his answer, âtruthfully, I don't know. There's a lot of vile people in this galaxy, people who would see to it that you aren't given what you're owedâ
âAnd what am I owed?â Howzer questioned, a hint of mirth in his voice.
âTo be treated like a personâ you said simply.
Howzer was taken aback by how easily your mouth formed those words. He had no idea that there were a number of people in the senate that were advocating for him and his brothers, but the fact that you were one of them made his head spin. It just made him respect you more, a newfound reverence for you washing over him.
âI've kind of always operated under the belief that you've just got to do what you can, but the things within my reach have significantly decreased, and now⌠I don't know whether a bill like that would pass under the Empire, if it was contested when we were still a Republicâ
Howzer nodded. He could understand that reasoning, however bleak it was.
âIs this why you wouldn't let me pay for the food earlier?â he then asked, one side of his lips curling up.
You chuckled slightly, looking down to the grass that you both sat upon, âYeah, it wasâ
An unfamiliar warmth spread throughout Howzerâs chest, spilling throughout his veins and begging to reach out and tip your head back up to look at him.
âI probably shouldnât have told you all thatâ you murmured, looking up at him through your lashes with a particularly sheepish expression which he couldn't help but find extremely endearing.
He offered you a smile, âyour secrets are safe with meâ
You returned the kind expression and sat up straight, a thoughtfulness about you that stoked the warmth inside of him.
âYou're a good man, Howzerâ you told him, eyes shining with something vulnerable, âyou've been nothing but kind to me ever since I got here, and I just have to thank you for thatâ
Every word you spoke only sought to make him more enamoured by you, and he could feel the way a violent blush was creeping up the back of his neck, threatening to take over his face.
âYou don't need to thank meâ he replied, âyou've made it very easyâ

âlook what you made me do.â
you have a past youâre not proud of. the people you hung around and the things you went along with.
but now itâs came to bite you back.
trigger warning: blood, gore, harassment, SA, just know youâve been warned. itâs not as explicit as many others, but itâs still different than what i have written in the past.
not proofread
âá˘. .á˘â âËâšâĄ
itâs been 2 weeks since one of your friends from high school passed away in a terrible car accident.
âitâs so empty without kelly here.â asa pouted.
maya smiled. âher soul is in a better place, asa.â maya was definitely being sarcastic.
currently, you and your friends maya, asa, and danielle were sitting in a cafe.
you all decided to meet each other after a stressful two weeks when you all had time after your part time jobs.
youâve all been friends since high school. about 6 years have passed since, but your guilty conscience wouldnât let go of all the bad youâve done to others then.
it seems you were the only one.
you sighed. âdo you think karma is finally catching up to us?â
all three girls looked at you. âwhy would you say that? nothing bad has happened to us, only kelly.â danielle said.
âwhat we did happen years ago, we were young, dumb teens. iâm sure our classmates got over it.â maya waved off.
âi just canât shake this feeling of being watched for the past month.â you shook your head, gripping your cup of hot liquid in front of you.
âyouâve felt it to?â asa asked shocked. âi have been feeling as if someone has been watching me too!â
maya scoffed. âyou all are so paranoid! no one cares about us enough to follow us around.â maya then laughed, âwell at least not you all. maybe me.â she flipped her light hair over her shoulder.
maya, you could say was the ring leader, and the worst one of you all.
just then, the bell over the door rang, and you all were back to arguing in hushed tones when danielle slapped mayas shoulder.
âwhat was that for?â maya hissed.
danielle pointed to the boy waiting in line. âhe looks familiar, no?â
mayas loud laugh could be heard throughout the room, âyouâve got to be kidding! loser wonie?â
you and asa looked at the boy that maya had pointed out.
âonly, itâs not loser wonie anymore, huh?â maya smirked crossing her arms.
the boy turned around, a shocked expression on his face. his cheeks began to turn red.
âit is you!â maya hit her hand on the table. âyang jungwon? no way!â
yang jungwon? you remembered him. he was a target of yours and the girls back in high school.
you had to stop your mouth from hanging open. you were sure the girls would agree with youâjungwon has gotten a lot more attractive. seems like heâs been hitting the gym more than books over the past years.
jungwon bowed in embarrassment and shyly. after all these years, heâs never once forgotten or forgiven what you and your friends done to him and other classmates.
ânot gonna say hi? hello? how you doing?â maya teased.
jungwon quickly turned around and walked out the cafe.
âmaya, will you ever stop being a bitch?â you snapped. you were tired of her high school mean girl personality.
maya narrowed her eyes at you. âwhat did you call me?â
âletâs not start this okay!â asa sighed.
âyeah, can we focus on the fact how hot yang jungwon got over the years? i thought he left the city for college?â
you shrugged. âmaybe he came back after graduation? or maybe on break?â
âmakes me wonder what other boys got hot over the years.â maya leaned back in the seat. âmaybe huening kai? riki?â
âoh, iâve seen updated pictures of riki! heâs very handsome and a dancer and photographer!â
this time maya slapped danielle. âand you didnât tell us?â
âitâs not like heâd be interested, he was a target of ours, remember?â
︜ęŚęˇâĄęˇęŚď¸ś
it was a typical day for you after work. you got home around 9 in the evening, throwing your shoes off and plopping yourself on your couch.
you texted the girls.
you: anyone wanna go out for drinks? i need maybe one or two, or maybe ten
danielle: early shift tomorrow :(
asa: has anyone heard from maya? i texted her yesterday and never got a reply.
danielle: sheâs probably still pissed about being called a bitch
you: not my problem
maya: oh boo-who, you didnât hurt my feelings
you: asa, see? sheâs fine.
except maya wasnât fine. and it wasnât maya who replied.
the girls went radio silent after that and you huffed in annoyance. you really needed new and better friends.
instead, you opened a bottle of soju you had and chugged it before taking a quick shower.
not because you wanted to, but because the hot water ran out after ten minutes.
getting out, you just decided to slip on shorts and an oversized shirt. youâre somewhat used to the hot water running out, especially this late at night.
the soju seemed to do nothing, so you decided to drink two more within 30 minutes. it wasnât long until you fell asleep on the couch.
you woke up, to see your television was still on, and looked over to the clock on your stove.
2:56 am.
turning it off, you decided just to stay on the couch and lifted the blanket higher on your body.
you sat up quickly.
blanket? you didnât fall asleep with a blanket. quickly reaching for the lamp beside you, turning it on, you studied the blanket in fear.
because the blanket was covered in pictures of you. pictures that were clearly taken from afar without your knowledge.
pictures of you at work, at the pool, sleeping, naked.
âwhat the fuck?â you threw the blanket off your body quickly in disgust before you stood up looking at the room around you.
âyou bitches are never grateful for anything.â
a deep voice said and you quickly turned around trying to find the source. you spun in circles finding no one.
âi got you a nice present and the first thing you do is throw it to the ground?â
when you turned around again, a figure in all dark clothes, and a mask was standing in front of you.
but before you could scream, the hooded figured took a bat and hit you over the head, sending you to the ground.
with a headache, you attempted to crawl, but was weakened by the blow. the figure hovered over you, and his hand holding a cloth came over your mouth.
︜ęŚęˇâĄęˇęŚď¸ś
you awoke to being tied to a chair. your hands and arms bound behind your back, your ankles bound to each chair leg.
your mouth and eyes remained uncovered.
once your vision came to, a scary sight came to.
asa and danielle bound by their wrists, hanging from the ceiling, their feet off the ground. their mouths were gagged so they couldnât speak.
it seemed you all were outside in a barn.
âasa! danielle!â your voice croaked out.
both girls eyes went wide and they started moving around and crying.
your eyes went to further to the left and you wish you had not looked.
it was maya. she was bound from her wrists, hanging from the ceiling of the barn. but she was barely alive.
her head was hanging at a weird angle, a pool of blood underneath her, leaking from her mouth, and gashes all over her body.
you screamed.
âoh shut up! donât act like you actually cared for her.â
a man came out of the shadows. danielle and asa started wiggling like crazy once again, and you sat there silenced.
yang jungwon.
he was wearing black sweats, black boots, and a black tank top showing off his arms that heâs clearly been working on.
âjungâjungwon?â you whispered out. you closed your eyes tightly hoping this was just a bad dream. but when you opened your eyes again, he was still there.
âboo.â he said and laughed. jungwon threw mayas phone to the ground beside you. âasa here was the only one worried about poor maya. turns out she had a reason to.â
jungwon walked over to mayas barely hanging on body, a bored expression written on his face, but behind his eyes, you saw the twinkle of excitement.
he caressed mayaâs cold cheek with a smile. âso pretty on the outside, but so ugly on the inside.â he scoffed. maya grumbled as much as she could with little energy.
âwhatâwhat are you gonna do with her now?â your voice trembled. there was no way he could get away with this, right?
he smiled happily. âthat, im glad you asked.â he walked closer to you. âfirst, i have a wood chipper im excited to use.â
you swallowed in disgust and disbelief. asa and danielle were freaking out behind him, knowing they were probably next.
âafter that, i learned something very interesting from criminal minds.â he stared at you with a dark look, that smile never fading.
âwhatâwhatâs that?â
âpigs are the best for crime scene clean ups.â
yes, because pigs would eat anything.
âplease, please jungwon donât. donât do this.â you reasoned. you had to try something, right?
âlet me ask you something.â jungwon asked. you nodded, signaling for him to continue, âif it meant your friends stayed alive would you give yourself to me in exchange for their life?â
you nodded without a thought. âyes, yes, yes.â
jungwon laughed in disbelief. he turned quickly to the other girls in disgust. âyou hear that ladies? your friend here is willing to give her life for yours.â
asa and danielle were trembling with tears.
jungwon turned back to you. âmight wanna rethink that answer sweetheart.â he said through gritted teeth. âyour friends here had the opposite to say.â
you looked behind jungwon, seeing the girls shaking their heads. jungwon looked behind him, angered, âdonât fucking lie now!â he walked over to them, grabbing an axe on his way.
asa was full force crying now.
âi asked you three the same question, and you said you wouldnât give your life for her!â he pointed the axe to you.
they said that? you knew every life was important and whatnot, but isnât that what most friends say in a time like this? or anyone who cares for another? that they rather the killer take their life than the one they cared for?
tears filled your own eyes.
âiâm done waiting.â jungwon threw the axe off to the side as he walked over to maya. âsay bye bye.â
what happened next seemed unreal as you felt it was a total out of body experience. the trauma already being embedded into your brain.
jungwon carelessly carried mayas barely holding on body to a machine off to the corner which must be the wood chipper he was talking about. he threw her to the ground, turning it on.
he did it all with a genuine smile. ranting on how you all were going to get your karma for not only the way you treated him, but others in high school.
you screamed and screamed, jungwon laughed stating no one would hear you. your throat began to hurt but you didnât care.
danielle and asa were crying, trying to properly breathe as their mouths were restricted.
you could barely see maya, but you knew she was crying, and mumbling, probably begging for her life.
âtoo late to beg for forgiveness now.â
you nearly threw up at the sight of maya being placed in the wood chipper. there was a bag covering the other end, possibly to contain evidence.
you looked back at the other two and notice asaâs pants were wet as tears flowed harder down her face.
âiâm not cleaning you up!â jungwon said to asa. âdonât think i have forgotten the many times you all bullied me so hard, it made me pee on myself, or when you all would dump my head in the womenâs toilet.â
jungwon took the bag off of the chipper, tying it up. he dragged it to the door of the barn. âtime to feed the pigs.â he smiled wickedly.
âiâll leave the nightlight on. i know youâre still scared of the dark, danielle.â he smiled and winked towards the curl haired girl.
he closed the barn doors behind him, leaving you three in a barely lit barn.
danielle and asa were tired from fighting the ties, and for were too. you sat there off in space, disbelief, disassociating from the world around you.
you started thinking about all the terrible things you and your so called friends did to those in high school.
although you were never the instigator, you shook their silently, watching the girls do what they did. you and asa both did. if you were to rank, kelly and maya were the worst, danielle behind, just trying to fit in.
did jungwon someone make kellyâs car accident, not an accident? maybe maya wasnât his first victim. maybe it was kelly.
you continued to tug at the bounds, refusing to be a victim. and it paid off. you were able to free your hands from behind you, bringing them in front of you.
your wrists were raw and and you leaned down to untie your ankles. when the chair creaked form your standing up, danielle and asa both opened their eyes wide, clearly begging for you to help them.
although what they said to jungwon hurt, you werenât like them. however, if you were to help them, it could just slow you down. it would put on a few extra minutes for jungwon to come back.
or what if they betrayed you? what if they ran and left you behind?
you apologized to them, âi will be back, i promise! im going to get help!â
you clasped your hands together, hoping they would forgive you, as you quickly but quietly ran over to the barn door.
you opened the door carefully, the darkness of outside immediately greeting you. no sound was to be heard but crickets and occasional howls from coyotes.
your bare feet pounded on the ground beneath you as you went towards open woods.
you didnât know your way around here, didnât even know where you were, but you wanted to survive.
the adrenaline of trying to survive kept you going. you ran for what felt like miles or hours, as your legs and muscles became weak and tired.
dogs barking in the distance scared you. taking a quick second break, you went to step forward to immediately feel pain.
a trap.
a bear trap got you.
you screamed in agony as the trap dug into your skin, immediately feeling the blood leaking from your body.
you fell to the ground, trying to get the trap off, but it seemed the more you struggled the tighter it dug.
great, is this how you were gonna die, rather than the hands of jungwon?
you screamed and screamed with tears, soon you began to scream jungwonâs name for help.
âjungwon, please help! im sorry!â
you felt your body grow weak, hoping your blood wasnât being drained.
âjungwon, please!â
little did you know, jungwon was watching. he had cameras in the barn, and around the vicinity of the woods and house. he had set those traps up specifically for you or if any of the other girls happened to get loose.
but mainly you.
he hadnât tied your bounds as tight as the other girls. he wanted to see if you would leave them behind, and he was proud to see that you did.
he would never set up traps to capture an animal. why would he hurt an innocent animal?
he had livestock guardian dogs for that need. he also had a watch dog, but the dog was trained not to attack people.
that was jungwonâs job.
you heard footsteps and a dog barking getting closer.
soon a small light came into view, and you squinted, seeing jungwon holding a flashlight with a dog.
you cried. you hoped he would help you and not kill you. âplease help,â you mumbled, âiâm sorry.â
âshh, itâs okay.â jungwon soothed.
he helped get the trap off of you. âiâm gonna carry you back.â
︜ęŚęˇâĄęˇęŚď¸ś
jungwon held you tight as he walked you back to the house, his dog beside you.
he wasnât that mad at you, he couldnât be.
you may not remember but he did, and he was sure the girls remembered too.
you werenât always like them or friends with them, no.
once upon a time, you were like him and friends with him.
the girls would tease and bully you too, in middle school. but something happened this summer before high school.
you blossomed, and maya and kelly felt threatened you would dethrone them of popularity in high school. they asked you to hang out at the park. you were so excited, but jungwon was worried something didnât feel right. he was correct.
kelly and maya ended up pushing you, and you tumbled off the playground structure, hitting your head.
thankfully jungwon was there, looking at you from a distance. kelly and maya hadnât realized jungwon was there, but they ran.
that accident put you in a small coma, and you ended up losing your memory. to make sure you never remembered, the girls took you under their wing and from then, you always thought you were one of them.
anytime jungwon tried to get you back, kelly and maya would be on him.
he didnât blame you. he didnât want to hurt you. but he felt hurt himself. betrayed.
since then, all he thought about was karma. all while in high school and after high school, he planned carefully on the revenge. he got smarter, stronger, developed and harder mindset.
he made a list of you all, and who he wanted to target. kelly and mayas name both at the top, with red underlined marks.
from then, he felt he couldnât trust anyone for the longest time. but he thought it was finally time to kill the old him and burry it.
thereâs a reason kelly was targeted first and maya second.
the car accident wasnât an accident. kelly was in the drivers seat, maya was in the passenger seat, but maya somehow got away from the car engulfed in flames.
jungwon was in the backseat, playing it cool as the girls were giddily with excitement thinking he wanted a threesome with them.
maya and kelly recognized him. and they were shocked he approached them with the question.
he mentioned the âfunâ they had with him in high school other than the torment of harassment.
it was fun for them; but not for him.
without the other girls, kelly and maya would corner him in the locker room or bathroom, pull his pants down, exposing him. they would tease him with kisses and touches.
jungwon was too scared to fight back, scared he would hurt one of them too badly. he was taught to never hit a girl. he want to respect that although he was being violated.
maya and kelly would tell him not to tell anyone and that no one would believe him anyway.
everytime he thinks about it, it angered himself.
he was even more angry that maya walked away fine, and acted like she wasnât in that car when it happened.
he placed you on the couch of his house, and as you slept still, probably worn out from the adrenaline, he cleaned your leg and the blood, making sure your leg and foot wouldnât become infected.
âthank you.â you whispered, barely awake. âiâm sorry.â
âno need to be sorry. iâm just glad youâre here with me now.â
âjungwon?â
âmhm?â
âwhatâs going to happen to me?â
he caressed your cheek. âdonât worry about that right now. just get some rest.â

There was the sound of the city below, and the rushing of wind above, but there was nothing in between. You felt nothing; just coming to and completely delirious. Your head spun as you looked down on London, watching droplets of blood fall fromâŚyour body? Were you bleeding? You suddenly became aware of the familiar deep mumbling above your head and the secure arms that held you tightly. You looked down at the red suit and black leather worn by who held you and pieced it all together, albeit slowly; you were in your rivalâs arms, bleeding out as he was web slinging through the sky. You groaned, growing privy of injures that you didn't know you had, immediately feeling Hobieâs arms tighten,
âIt's okay, you're gonna be okay.â You heard his deep voice faintly, sounding panicked and far away. You squirmed, wincing and crying out,
You couldn't feel your wings.

Spiderman, Spiderpunk, assholeâwhatever you wanted to call himâhe was a royal pain in your ass. Heâd cocoon you inside indestructible webs when he caught your gang in a crime, beeline to you when he was fighting off the group, and web you down whenever heâd catch you lurking on the rooftops at night, leaving the scene slinging away with a sly or flirty remark. At first, you just assumed that he must have sensed weakness in youânot taking you seriously and toying with you for kicksâŚit could have been true and honestly probably was, but you were ready for a change. You had changed significantly since you and Spiderman first met. He didnât see you for a very long time while you worked out and trained, touching up your fighting skills, reaction time, and staminaânever slacking off. It didn't take long for you to surpass your once superiors, becoming your Masterâs most prized possession.Â
Your Master was all you knew for a guardian figure. They called you their âFirefly,â as you had phoenix-like wings and fire based abilities that they were oh so proud of. What you didnât know, was that they formed your supernatural self, nurturing you in their lab after destroying your genetic makeup until you were ready to be their perfect prodigy, yet they didn't want you taking on their largest missionâkilling Spiderman. They told you that they knew about the way he targeted you and took you down with minimal effort and they hated itânot wanting to see you caught in a life-or-death fight with him.
âHe may have never hurt you, but if he wants to, he will.â They would say. You never knew that it was all lies, only hating the idea of your Master looking down on you.Â
So you would become Spidermanâs biggest threatâtelling yourself it was not to prove a point to them, but to you.
â
You were ready for this city to finally start taking you seriously; buildings emptying at the glow of your fiery wings, blinds closing and light flicking off at the sound of your crackling fire, streets clearing with screams of âSpiderpunk!â and âHelp!â You believed today was the day.
The people of London already knew the sight of you meant troubleâoften the most eye-catching of your masterâs entourage even though you werenât the most dangerous, but you were rarely seen alone. It was alarming to the citizens who quickly emptied the dark streets. You felt a sense of confidence surge in your chest at the fear in their eyes just from you simply walking, lighting up the streets with a red-orange glow and wildfire-like crackling sounds. You didnât get very far though, a faint booming guitar chord piercing the air nearby like a firework. You grit the soles of your gear into the ground, securing your mask and looking up to catch Spiderpunk swinging off a tall building, legs spread and hand outstretched in your direction,
âAy, what do you know?! If it isn't the Firefly all by herself! What do you think you're doing out here, lil phoenix?â His voice quickly gained volume as he swung full speed ahead in your direction, aiming to effortlessly web you up and leave the scene when he neared and took a powerful blow directly to the chin, flying into the wall like a magnet to metal.
He groaned, fallen on the floor and back slammed into the brick wall, âDamn! Where did you learn how to throw a punch like that? Didâja friends finally decide to teach you the basics?â With squinty spider-suit eyes, he rubbed his jaw, comically âfixingâ it back into place before lunging like a jumping spider and tackling you with his arms around your waist. Your back hit the ground with a thud and you quickly kicked your feet up on his stomach and flipped the two of you backwards with your hands on his leather vest. You throw punches and hits with calculated precision and instead of being scaredâŚSpiderpunk is pleasantly surprised at your newfound strength. He finds himself totally up for the challenge of fighting someone âworth his time.â He web slings out from under you, jumping behind a nearby bench to put some distance between the two of you and attempt to apprehend you,
âCome on Spiderpunk, throw a punch! What are you, scared? Didnât think youâd have to even try to beat me huh? Is that it, asshole?â You yell in frustration, hand clutching the back of the bench and clearing it like a track meet. He backpedals, never once getting violent with youâno hitting, punching or kicking, just strategically tiring you out until he can find an opening and restrain you.
âCome on now, you know this is just anotha cakewalk for your friendly neighborhood Spiderman.â He laughs in a sarcastic teasing way to rile you up, ducking to avoid your advances when you unexpectedly lunge at him, your masked heads knocking against each other and sending him falling over into a messy alley. Spiderpunk struggles against you before you slam your fist across his cheek, sending his head left before he cranes it back, grabs your ready fist, and then the other one when you raise it. You're both grunting and panting, his eyes squinty and your arms shaking like an arm wrestle when, eventually, he overpowers you and pushes you off him, wrapping you up like a spider to its prey and having the temerity to dust his hands off after,
âWell, I oughta say, tonight was full of more surprises than I would've ever guessed! Didnât know you had all that fight in you, Firefly.â He said, casually leaning against the wall across from you with his foot up, wiping his wrist over his masked forehead and feigning exhaustion. Your face scrunched up in anger at the name, reserved for only your Master.
âDon't call me that! I don't need you underestimating me, Spiderpunk, and I don't need your pityâactually fight me next time!â You spit, âIâll be back for you.â Your ablaze wings tear through the web restrains and you fly away, knowing heâll let you go. He watched you leave into the night sky, cursing to himself at the throbbing pain in his jaw. He slumped off the wall, web slinging home with a sense of sympathy weighing heavy in his heart,
âPoor thingâall fucked in the head.â
â
Your Master has a long standing history with Spiderpunk. They were once a copâdevoted to their work and truly confident that they were doing the right thing. Then one day, this âSpidermanâ came along. He ruined everything; encouraging anarchy, winning the people's hearts and turning the citizens against the officersâbut worst of all, he killed their brother who was also in the police force. Nothing was the same since, and they turned to a life of crime, building a force of people who wanted to do anything in their power to stop Spiderman.Â
Spiderpunk had directly attacked their old headquarters before, growing more and more familiar with their motives, their methods, and more importantly, their members. There was a new lair now, sneakily hidden from Spiderpunk to keep him from learning more than he already knew.
What he did know was your Master was like a parent in your eyes. He knew you were unable to label anyone else as a guardian in your broken life, but damn it was sick to him. Your Master literally made you address them as such to enforce harsh power dynamics and keep you in your place. They mutilated your genetic code like a lab rat, but you can't remember a thing because you were completely comatose. They wanted to train you until you were strong enough to fight for them, and then do nothing to prevent your death when the foreign chemicals in your body would eventually catch up to you. Worst of all, they don't want you around Spiderpunk because he knows the truth. They do everything in their power to keep you faithful to them because they know you'll be too strong on Spidermanâs sideâyou'll turn to him without sparing them a second glance if you knew the truth.Â
They couldn't let that happen. They wouldn't let that happen. They swore it to themselves everyday.
â
You came quietly through the doors of the lair (which was disguised as just another house in a crowded street) keeping all noise to an absolute minimum to avoid the âwhere were youâ questions from your comrades. You were new to sneaking out, never seeing a point in it before this self-improvement journey of yours. You were lost in thought, walking to your room when a loud slam jumped you. You cursed and looked up to see none other than your Master standing in front of you, staring at you with an intensity that never meant any good, rendering the hallway placate. You looked up at them, fear taking over your bones.
ââŚWhere have you been for the past hour?â Their dour tone sliced through the thick silence. You held eye contact like you've been told,
âI went out to train.â You answered, not the full truth but not a lie either. You looked up at them with a cold-sweat inducing anticipation rattling your knees. The silence was so loud, and your heart wouldnât stop pounding.
You didn't even register that you had been slapped until you noticed you were no longer looking your Master in the eyes. Your face felt warm, stinging with pain as your eyes welled with tears that you fought back. They said nothing more, leaving you to stand stunned in the hallway for a long moment and then trudge into your room to fall asleep feeling numb.Â
â
You knew you must have done something to deserve the punishment of getting slapped and grounded, but you also felt that your Master just didn't understand what you were doingâ that you were doing it for them. You were going to help them take down Spiderpunk! You were going to do what they had always wanted! After thinking for a long hour in your room, you decided you just needed to be more sneaky. That way, they couldn't be mad at you in the end when you finally got their worst enemy in the lair, bound up and defenseless.Â
Nothing could stop you from training mercilessly for days, readying yourself to fight Spiderpunk again. You lived for the shocked expression on his spider-suit mask when you threw punch after punch at him, taunting him with an attitude that he had never seen from eager but stupid youâyou who had failed to even get close enough to attack him in the past. He had wondered why he wasn't seeing you with the usual group for a couple months, almost worried that your Master had done something.
Time passed and the few times you saw Spidepunk, you were with a bigger group. You were no longer the first person he took down, rather the lastâhe struggled more and more fighting you these days. It had been days since your last 1V1 encounter and night fellâthis time, you waited until you were absolutely positive that your Master was asleep before you left out your window, flying into the night with your blazing wings. You knew how Spiderpunk was going to fight you this time, playing a completely defensive game until he saw an opening to take you down, and you were prepared for itâready to counteract it. You didn't want to leave this battle completely unscathed like last time, you wanted a fair fight.
â
Hobie sat on a distant rooftop, overlooking London in the darkness of the night. He had had a very ânormalâ day in Spiderpunk termsâhelp a little old lady across the road, stop a handful of thiefâs dumb enough to steal in broad daylight with his spidergang, and graffiti a couple political statements in places that no one else could reach. He chose a rooftop garden area to relax, chewing his bright pink bubblegum and strumming on his guitar with his heavy boots hanging over the ledge.
Hobie thought about you, he thought about Y/N L/N. It was difficult to fight someone who was so misguided, so fixated on a dream that would only hurt them more. He didnât know what he could do to get to youâto get you comfortable enough with him to even believe a word of what heâs been dying to tell you. Hobie needed to save you from your Master and the twisted ideology they had drilled into every fiber of your being.
He knew no one else would understand why he cared the way he did. Hobie had a soft spot for you and your gang because he knew of the lives that you were all robbed of.
He strummed his sticker-covered guitar to the bridge of âChange (In the House of Flies),â looking down at the bursts of color that his guitar cycled through in time with each chord he played.
There was a fleeting moment of tranquility, then his spidey-senses went wild, a fiery glow seen from behind him.Â
Hobie didnât moveâhe didnât even flinchâhe just softly finished the song,Â
âI was beginning to think I wouldnât be seeinâ you again.â Hobie quipped, getting on his feet and slinging his guitar behind him, turning to face you.
You looked him overâhis spiky accessories, his expressive messy spider-suit eyes, his guitar and all its color. You wondered what he could have done to become the center of all your Masters hate. You knew it had to have been pretty significant, even if you didnât understand it.
âYouâre not getting rid of me that easily, Spiderman.â You said, voice muffled through your mask. Now it was Hobieâs turn to take you all in. You had definitely made some augmentations to your gear since he last saw you, he could see how touched up it looked and he started to worry you might catch him off guard this time, so he tested the waters. He circled you slowly and instantly you tensed and out came exactly what he fearedânew weaponry.
Fiery blades ignited out of your wrist gear as you put your hands up in a block. Hobie was actually impressed,
âWell would ya look at that! A shiny new weapon, eh? did ya make that all by yourself, lil phoenix?â He inquired, leaning in with typical comical Spiderman enthusiasm. He got too close for comfort, resulting in you swinging your burning blades at him with a grunt. Hobie lurched backwards, making a shocked noise,
âAlright alright, trying to show me what those new blades can do huh? Come on, come get me.â He teased, web-slinging away and starting a chase. Hobie was often chasing, not entirely used to the reverse, but he felt adrenaline pump through his veins at the sound of your yells, chasing him like a rabid animal through the rooftops of London. Â
This time, you knew well what he was doingâattempting to tire you out and get you at your weakest without even having to lay a finger on you, then restrain you like last timeâso you came to the fight with a couple tricks up your sleeve.
You ducked down into an alleyway, seemingly headfirst, running down the wall and up the next.Â
Spiderpunk looked behind him, expecting to see your struggling form desperately trying to keep up with him, only for his heart to stop at the sight of youâor the lack thereof.Â
His reflexes came in handy when he saw a faint glow out of his peripherals. He swung from a high-hanging sign when you lunged at him from his side, giving him minimal time to react. He tried to web to another building, but he was too slow. Your fingers closed around his neck, slamming him into the wall, his long fingers instinctively came up to your wrists, only to falter away when he nearly slices his hands clean off on your blades. He instead opts to use his boots to try and kick you away, but blades instantly ignite out of the gear surrounding your ankles,
âYou really came prepared huh? Whipped up all this new gear in a matter of days just to see me? Youâre so thoughtful.â He grit out, still trying to not harm you if he doesnât have to. He was in the middle of calculating your next move when you brought your head back like you were going to knock him out with it. Instantly, Hobie ducks down, thrusting his spiky spider-suit mask at your chest and pushing away from you when you flinch and let go of him.Â
âSpiderpunk!â You screamed, jumping up and lunging at him, sending artificial webs his way. He rolled and dodged them, yelping in surprise,
âLook at you! I mean, youâre basically a spider woman now!â He shoots his own webs, snagging your ankle and effectively stumping you, if only for a moment when your heated blades sear them off. You angrily throw yourself at him again, falling to the ground when he dodges. Suddenly, a loud crack is heard as your left ankle gear slams against the solid rooftop, buzzing and crackling as it breaks. You hiss and grunt angrily, and Hobieâs brain lights up. He has to break all your new toys to take you down, thatâs all.Â
Spiderpunk suddenly jumps at you, tackling you onto your back to keep your wings useless and webbing your biceps down, then your thighsâtheyâre the spots where you have no defense mechanisms, although youâre a lot stronger than heâs used to seeing you so he remains cautious. He grabs hold of your ankle, pressing his palms into the gear and sending electric volts through itâhe risks the chance of hurting you, but when he begins to fry the electrical cords and sees only confusion in your eyes, he continues. The gear fizzes and smokes as it breaks, but Hobie feels the shock of it all, wincing and grunting as he get electrocuted.Â
Your eyes widen as you realize what heâs doing, and you scream,
âNo! No!â You strain against his webs, freeing one arm and swinging your fist at the man, slicing the cheek of his mask only for him to grab your bicep and pin you back down with a struggle, electrocuting himself once more as he kills your right wrists gear with a zap!
You look up at him, paralyzed with confusion as he still refuses to hurt you, only breaking your gear so youâll run back home again. You wonât take it, breaking free your left fist the very next second and screaming in anger when he pins it down with all the strength he can muster.
"Why are you doing this? Why won't you ever fight me?" You scream emotionally, struggling against him as he uses all the strength he has left to fry your last piece of protective gear while you struggle against him, kicking and pushing to no use. He doesn't speak at first, breathing heavily, and sighing,
âYou really wanna know?â He mumbles, looking at you through his mask with squinty eyes, âOr do you just want an answer that will make you happy?â He asks, leaning back and getting off of you completely, but keeping you restrained on the ground.
âWhat is that supposed to mean?â You ask, genuinely caught off guard, letting out a scoff, âDont pull some weird mysterious bullshit with me-â
âIâm serious.â He cuts you off. It doesn't sound harsh or angry, itâs strangely genuine. âThe truth hurtsâworse than anything I could do to you if I fought back the way you so badly want.â He says through his thick accent, sitting beside you and looking out at the city.
You looked up, knocking your masked head on the hard surface while you thought in angry silence. What could Spiderpunk have to tell you? Why did he think it would matter to you? You hadn't really guessed there was a good reason for why he didn't fight you, just assuming he pitied you. You let your head loll to the side and looked at the spikey masked man with dark skin peeking through the cut you left in his mask, your curiosity winning,
âIâŚIâm all ears.â You mumble, your voice hoarse.Â
He just looked at you for a moment, then he cursed and ran his large palm down his covered face, pinching the bridge of his nose. He didn't know what to say or how to say it. How do you tell someone their whole life is a lie? Furthermore, they're fighting for a cause that will end in their demise? He gazed off into the sparkling lights below,
âItâs not easy to say so iâm just gonna tell you as bluntly as possible. Iâve known that lousy sod you call âMasterâ for years nowâŚtheyâre not at all who you think they are.â He starts, missing the way your body stiffens, âAndâŚneither are you. They actuallyâŚmade you what you are. You weren't supposed to have the abilities you have but they-â
âNo, no I'm not listening to this, this is useless! You're full of shit!â You spat, arching your back enough to set your wings free, cutting through the webs, triggering him to jump up and put his palms out defensively,
âHey, hey! You said you were all ears right? Don't go throwinâ a wobbly on me now! Just listen okay? Iâm trying to save your life!â He frantically begged, walking towards you slowly with bent knees and a tilt of his head, trying his absolute hardest to not come across as a threat. You werenât having it.
You got close, âYou can go to hell with your weird conspiracies about my Master and I! I-Iâll never believe youâyou donât even know me!â You yelled your fists up defensively. You felt weak and angry with your gear useless, and you didnât exactly expect a deep discussion about your life and what it might or might not be,
âI do though, Y/N. ThatâsâŚthatâs what Iâm trying to get at here.â He states, not once taking his eyes off you. He watches as your eyes flicker wide open, your guard faltering for only a moment. You stand there stunned, the silence of midnight surrounding both of you, until you finally have the courage to speak up,
âIsâŚthat how you know my name?â You state the obvious. You know the answer, but you want him to be the one to say it.
âYes, because what iâm telling you is the truth. Your Master, they used to be an officer until I came around and fought against the police forceâŚone day, there was an attack from a villain force and I couldnât save their closest friendâŚbut from what they saw, it looked as though their blood was on my hands. They changed overnightâquitting the force and becoming the worst villain overlord of this city. They built their own empire, and they bought you. You and the rest of their army, youâre all captives who were brainwashed and robbed of your lives.â He finishes, full of anticipation as he looks at you.
Thereâs a long silence, as you take it all in. You donât know what to say to do for a while, internally struggling on if you even believe his words or notâŚbut the longer you think about itâŚyouâre sad to admit the more sense it starts to make.
You donât remember having any sort of childhood, no matter how hard you thought, and youâve only ever known your Master and their orders on how you should live your life. You were lost in thought, puzzle pieces slowly fitting together, and Spiderpunk just watched you patiently. You thought about how he looked at you, how he refused to hurt you, and how he seemed to genuinely mean every word he saidâŚIt was too much to take in all at once.
âIâm sorry, I-I canât.â You stammer out, your voice cracking as you back up. Your wings crackle with burning fire. He doesnât follow you, just stands still as you walk backwards, then turn and fly off. The wind whistles as you fly home faster than you ever have in your life, your thoughts racing a mile a minute with every flap of your wings. Hobie watches you fly off into the sparkly night sky like a burning shooting star, sighing in relief.Â
â
That night opened your eyes, and nothing was the same between you and your Master since. You pulled back and unintentionally started acting cold, now you were afraid they were noticing. They had been randomly gifting you things or spending time with you, a lot more than they ever do. You were starting to feel incredibly uncomfortable and anxious as the days went on, and strangely, you decided you wanted to clear some things up with Spiderpunkâyou just needed to find a way to sneak out without your Master noticing with all their excessive hovering over you these days.
It was dawn, and you had just finished the dinner that they insisted you have with them. Your Master had finished eating and was now cleaning both your dishes when you quietly headed to the door and slipped on your jacket,
âGoing somewhere?â They asked questioningly, not turning from their spot at the sink but still instilling nausea in you from their tone alone. You hesitated for a second, then slipped on your shoes,
âJust going on a walk.âÂ
âRight after eating? Shouldnât you give it an hour or two?â They pressured.
âIâd rather walk while itâs still relatively light out, I wonât be gone long.â You countered carefully, trying to keep the peace the best you could. You reached for the door handle, your back turned to them when you heard the water shut off, footsteps, and then felt their arms around you, turning you into their embrace. It was uncomfortably silent, and their hands suddenly tightening on your jacket felt horrible,
âI know youâve been lying to me.â They murmured, their grip strong as they feel your body go rigid for a moment. You stall. They release you and stare coldy,
âI-I donât know what youâre-â The hardest slap youâve ever felt lands across your face and cuts you off. It burns like hell and leaves your head blank for a moment. You look down only to get your eyes forced upwards from a pressuring grip on your jaw,
âYou know you canât keep secrets from meâŚI will figure out what youâve been doing, my Firefly, and you wonât like it.â They grumbled, pushing you outside and slamming the door.
â
There had to be at least five cops chasing after as you careened around the block, all having yelled at you when you raced out of a small jewelry store with hands full of anything shiny and expensive looking that you could loop around your fingers. You zoomed down the dark street and caught a myriad of unfortunate obstacles ablaze in your wake. You were trying to cause as much of a scene as humanly possibleâIt was working.
You turned to look behind your shoulder right as Spiderpunk swung down towards you, one hand high above his head and the other swinging a web straight for your abdomen. When you were about to redirect your focus ahead of you, youâre left with no time to process your masked ârivalâ headed straight for you before pulling you up into the sky with him. A scream tears out of your throat from shock and you canât move as your body is pulled through the sky, golden rings and necklaces spilling from your fingers. The loud hollering of Spiderpunk is echoing around you before he pulls you onto a rooftop, both of you rolling onto the building. He grunts and pants, looking at you as he lays on his side, propped up on his elbow,
âHowâs my favorite little villain doin huh? Long time no seeâŚI was starting to miss your pretty mask.â He pulled you towards him by his webs like Scorpion, before tearing it when you were close enough, âWas there a reason you caused such a dilemma down there or did ya just miss me?â He smirks, pretending to run a hand through his hair. He was clearly in a good mood today.
You sigh, full of emotions and slightly bothered by his over-the-top entrance and flirty behavior, âThereâs a reason, assholeâŚI need to talk to you.â You confess, sitting up in a comfortable position while he mirrors you, leaning his head in his hands. He stays silent and only nods, allowing you to continue,Â
âI thought about what you saidâall of it. Things werenât the same when I woke up that next morning. I still donât trust you but I donât really hate you the way I used toâŚbecause of what you said I sorta started to think for myself. I came to see you today to ask you a couple of questions and maybe get some answers?â You whispered, voice soft as you looked into his masked face. The moonlit night was cold and dark. It left you shivering with a sense of anxiety squeezing at your lungs. He nodded once more, leaning in,
âWhat can your friendly neighborhood spiderman do for you?â He asked with an audible smiled, trying to ease your obvious distress.
âWho was I?â You blurted out.
He shuddered, expecting the question but still feeling underprepared for it. He exhaled through a buzz of his lips and clicked his tongue a couple of times,
âThatâs a difficult question, doll. To put it simply, youâre a normal girl who was supposed to live a normal life with her normal parentsâthey were some of the many that were killed by the multiple heinous villains that terrorized London a few years ago. You werenât too much younger than me when you were forced into a hostage situation by the killers, soon after you were sold. I couldnât save you all before the brainwashing, and I couldnât get to you like this untilâŚnow.â He admitted. He felt sympathy knowing that you were sitting in front of him, probably feeling as though you were suffering the consequences of his incompetenceâbut the thought never crossed your mind. You just wished you knew that girl, the one who was robbed of her normal life, but you felt that moping was useless,Â
âWell, what can I do? I mean iâve basically learned that my whole life isnât at all what I think it has been and iâve been chasing after the one person who was kind enough to tell me the truth-â
âYou didnât know any better.â He corrected, âI tried to go easy on youâŚcouldnât bring myself to fight such a sweet, misguided, girl.â He admitted genuinely.
âI am so stunnedâŚI mean I never thought youâd be able to be this close or say these things to me without attacking you.â You teased, looking at the way his eyes scrunch up and his knees come close in a laugh, âIâŚI donât know how to thank you. All Iâve done has been attacking you every chance I got because my Master painted you out to be some threat. I never thought for myself until you told me the truth, and now youâre being so nice to me, Spiderpunk.â You sighed.
Suddenly, he shifted before reaching his hands up to his neck and pulling his mask off, revealing his identity to you. The newly unmasked Spiderpunk shook his hair slightly, and looked at your still masked face as you took in every detail of him. He had deep brown skin, messy wicks, plump lips, a big nose with a ring on the side, deep set eyes complimented with pierced eyebrows and high cheekbones. He had the face of a model and it was no surprise that that effected your ability to breathe for a moment,
âYou can call me Hobie.â He said with a cheeky tone at your silence, leaning back, âAnd you donât have to thank me, just glad I could help.â He answered. He looked at you solemnly, his heart warming at the idea of helping you. âBut you can at least make us equal and share a taste of your secret identity.â He winks, leaning in eagerly.
You roll your eyes and trail your hands up to your own mask, removing it and watching as his eyes scan you in the low lighting, taking in your appearance. You expected something different than what you got, your stomach dropping at the sudden look of shock on his face. You felt anxiety well up in a matter of seconds before he speaks,
âWho did this?â His deep voice lingers in the air and youâre left with no time to process his words, his hands that were reaching for you stuttering when you flinch, âY/N, who hurt you?â He asks you, stern but gentle, looking into your eyes with his large hands gently on either side of your head to examine the red blistering slap mark. You canât even respond, your mouth open but no words coming out. You both know the answer.Â
Hobie knew there was a possibility your Master was hurting you, but this just confirmed it and left him feeling inexplicably enraged.Â
âIâm sorry, I-âÂ
âWhy are you apologizing? You have no reason to be sorry, If I had known IâŚI would have stopped this a lot sooner.â He whispered, gaze soft as he instinctively holds your head to his chest, almost motherly.Â
You just try to focus on stabilizing your breathing, the comforting hold new and strange to you. You never would have expected this, thatâs for sure.
Time goes by, Hobie allowing you to sit in front of him again while you eventually talk about your relationship with your Master. Itâs difficult, and Hobie has to thank his lucky stars for his ability to remain expressionless, because if not, he probably would have cried or thrown up several times. It becomes emotional for you as you wrap up, Hobie feeling his gut twist at the sight,
âItâs alright. I-Iâm not going to let you be in that place much longer. Iâm going to stop them okay? Iâll be helping you out of there soon.â He spoke clearly, his hands on your shoulders to keep steady eye contact. You felt uneasy at the idea of your Master and your unsteady relationship. You didnât want to see them hurt but you knew that how they had treated you all these years was wrong, especially if what Hobie said was true. It was conflicting, and you were scared. You tried your hardest to trust Hobie, but you had only just opened up to himâŚso could you really? Was it safe?
âOkayâŚbye, Hobieâ.â Was all you said before you parted, disappearing into the dark of the night. Hobie plotted, swinging far behind after a lot of careful thought and a ton of unusual hyperactivity from his spidey-senses.
â
The door creaked louder than it usually doesâjust your luck. You cursed as you held the handle all the way twisted until it was in the frame, manually twisting it back into place to keep the house silent. You were on a mission, and it couldnât wait. You walked your way into the basement and into your Masterâs secret laboratory. This was where they kept all of their âwork stuff.â You had never cared about anything in the dingy and dark room until nowâŚyou never knew any of it would pertain to you. You sifted though their stuff, everything seemingly kosher until a file, stuffed in the back of the lowest cabinet of their desk with the bold printed letters âY/N L/Nâ splattered over it in red ink called to you among all the other tan files. You wasted zero time in pulling it out and investigating. The file was full of information about youâthings that you didnât even know about yourself; the day you were bought, the chemical makeup of your fucked-up genes, and the day that you wereâŚnoâŚthat couldnât be rightâŚthe day that you were supposed to die? Your heart stopped. You read the date over and over again, adrenaline rushing through your body and pumping blood straight to your head. You couldnât hear anything, couldnât see, couldnât think. Your Master horrifyingly lingered in the doorway, watching as you trembled in unbridled terror. Why the fuck did you have a pre-determined death date? You tore your gaze off the paper, looking up and jumping when you saw, to you absolute dismay, your âMaster.âÂ
âY/N. Iâve heard that you made a new friend! Is that right, my little Firefly?â Your master seethed through their sickening smile. You had never seen them this angryâŚit terrified you, but your adrenaline was stronger than your fear.
âI know who you areâŚandâŚI know who I am. Youâre a sick person, and youâve been lying to me my whole life!â You yelled, defensively staring them down with as fierce of a face as you could muster, âYou destroyed the person that Iâm supposed to be! You bought me out of a hostage situation to build your own suck army! Worst of all, you have a predetermined death date for me? What the fuck do I look like, perishable goods?â You scream.
âQuit acting dumb, child. If you were smart enough to understand maybe you wouldnât be so angry at your loving Master. I did what I did to give you a life worth living. I made you who I made you at the cost of your life span shortening. Would you rather live a long, boring, and sad life with no parents and no purpose? Or would you rather life a fulfilling life with me?â They spat, anger present in their red eyes.
âI would rather die than live with you any longer. Spiderpunk told me the truth and I believed him because it makes sense! He was the first person to ever let me think for myself! He has never hurt me the way that you have!â Screaming, you threw the file onto the ground, the contents spilling out at your Masterâs feet and your wings burning hot. Embers flicked across the room, catching small things on fire. Your Master had had enough.
âIs that so? And what exactly do you intend on doing with that information, hm? Run away from the loving,â they flip the desk as it begins to burn, sending wood and fire all over as they come closer, âsupportive,â they slam their fist into your side and kick your feet out from under you, âfamily that Iâve pioneered for you? Youâd leave that all behind to follow a brain-dead, arachnid, anarchist who killed my loved ones?!â They scream, pulling you by your wrist out of the office and into the basement, shoving you down onto your stomach and crawling onto of you harshly. Your wings were as intense as your emotionsâyour horror, sadness, and anger all causing the flames to burn unusually hot and wildlyâbut your Master didnât care. All they saw was red.
âYou know what happens when you go against my rules, Y/N. How dare you do the one thing I specifically instructed you against.â They snapped, tears pooling out of your eyes as you struggled to breathe. Your eyes shot open as you heard their hisses in pain and felt their hands tighten around the base of your blazing wings. Your heart raced as fire embers flung around the room and you felt a sharp tugging, triggering you into screaming uncontrollably,
âNo! No! Please, stop it! Master, Iâm sorry! please d-donât! What are you doing?! Iâm-Iâm sorry, please!â You screamed, feeling the extension of your body being torn out of your spine, uselessly screaming in agony. You were kicking and crying as you felt the most uncomfortable pain you had ever felt in your life. You were helpless, the room around you catching on fire as your powers go haywire. You didnât know who to call, but the one name you knew started spilling from your lips,
âHobie! Hobie please help me!â You cried, voice cracking and hoarse as the building rapidly started to burn. Your master brought their heel up digging it into your lower back as leverage as they grunted and pulled, fueled on your screams alone. You let out one last scream of Hobieâs name before it all faded to black.
â
Hobie had no idea where he should be looking for you, never having located your Masterâs new hideout. He relied completely on his senses, a game of âhotterâ and âcolder.â He raced around like a madman, ignoring the excited screams of âItâs spiderpunk!â However, soon the screams became about a fire, and his senses were overwhelmed with a buzzing feeling. He snapped out of it and looked down to see a house on fire, mentally battling on if he should continue searching for you or deal with the house fire, opting for the latter. When he Hobie leapt down, he got a sinking feeling that he had found you.Â
He tore through the burning building, groups of familiar villains racing out of the doors and windows. He kept low and crawled like a spider when he heard a broken scream of his name, so pained and so desperate. He nearly tripped down the burning basement stairs and took in the horrific scenery.Â
Your blood was all over the floor, surrounding (what Hobie prayed was) your unconscious body. Your Master was panting, and holding your bloody, fleshy, wings. They had never looked this truly evil, staring down at you with no remorse until they noticed Hobieâs presence,
âSpiderpunk.â They stated, tossing your wings into the calmed with burning with rage,
 âI think itâs time for our long overdue last dance, âMaster.ââ Hobie grumbled, circling them.Â
âI thought youâd never ask.â They smiled, chucking a knife from their belt at his head, watching as he expertly dodges it and maneuvers around the collapsing room combating with bloodshed heavy on his mind. Thereâs a symphony of punches and stabs, Hobie was growing bloody and angry. He was kicked into the fire his face whacking across a burning plank and causing him to cry out. Hobie shook his head and screamed, lunging at them,Â
âIâm gonna make you wish you never payed your hands on her.â Hobie grunted, his grip tightening around their throat as they desperately tried to pull him off. All Hobie could think about was what he could have done to save you all these years; if he had known the torture you were enduring at their hands he would have helped you sooner. He knew the whole time that it was doomed, but he didnât know how to save you.Â
Hobie felt a crunch, and he snapped out of it, finding himself on top of your Masters now dead body. he pulled his hands back, wiping them off on his jeans and spitting down on the corpse of your abuser. Turning rapidly to scoop you into his arms and burst out of the burning building. The fire department was there, and ready to take care of it, but Hobie needed to get you as far away as possible.
â
There was the sound of the city below, and the rushing of wind above, but there was nothing in between. You felt nothing; just coming to and completely delirious. Your head spun as you looked down on London, watching droplets of blood fall fromâŚyour body? Were you bleeding? You suddenly became aware of the familiar deep mumbling above your head and the secure arms that held you tightly. You looked down at the red suit and black leather worn by who held you and pieced it all together, albeit slowly; you were in your rivalâs arms, bleeding out as he was web slinging through the sky. You groaned, growing privy of the injures that you didn't know you had, immediately feeling Hobieâs arms tighten,
âIt's okay, you're gonna be okay.â You heard his deep voice faintly, sounding panicked and far away. You squirmed, wincing and crying out,
You couldn't feel your wingsâand it all came back to you. Your âMasterâ had pulled them completely out of your body, and now you had never felt so light in your entire life. There were gaping holes in your back, and cuts that littered your skin from your struggle. You felt robbed, but oddly, you felt free. However, nothing could compare to, above all, how much pain you were in. You clung to Hobie, becoming aware that youâd have no way to support yourself if you were to fall, but Hobie held you tightly, telling you he would never drop you without saying a single word.Â
He landed somewhere unfamiliar, carrying you through a window with an odd amount of calculated grace. He set you down on what you assumed was his carpet, and you didnât realize he was currently in front of you, helping you onto your stomach. You took his hand and allowed him to help you, gasping and whimpering when your entire body hurt.
âEasy, love, mâgonna take care of ya.â He whispers. He tears your shirt clean off, beginning to clean your wounds,
âAh! Hobie!â You mumble, wincing.
âI know, I know, itâs gonna hurt love mâsorry.â He says in the most soothing voice he can.
He bandaged your cuts, and he feels his heart sink with every pained noise you make, watching you fiddle with his carpet to take your mind off of how it all feels. When heâs finished, he slips a clean shirt over you and he scoops you upâlaying you down on his soft couch.
âYour wounds are deep love, but theyâre not unsalvageable. Give it time and youâll be feeling as good as new.â Hobie smiled softly. He was covered in blood, ash, and grime, but no one had ever looked as beautiful as he did in that moment. He pulled the blanket off the back of his couch, draping in over you and tucking it in gently,
âI am truly sorry for everything, doll.â He said suddenly with raw emotion taking over. You looked up at him confused,
âDonâtâŚdonât be sorry, Hobie. YouâŚyou saved my life.â You murmured, exhausted and pained.Â
He softly smiled at you, his eyes full of sadness as he forced himself to get up off his knees by your side,
âWell, iâll be in the other room love, just holler if you-âÂ
âWait!â You interrupt. He stops abruptly, turning to look at you with confusion present on his face, scanning over you and taking note of the space you made in front of you on the couch,
âI donât want to be alone.âÂ
And with that, Hobie feels his heart break. Your voice sounded so fragile and meek, and he never wanted to hear it sound that way ever again. He would feel horrible holding you in his state, but he would feel worse if he said no to you. Reluctantly, he walks over to you, unties his shoes, and lays down with you, holding you close and gently running his hands up and down the bandages.
You didnât understand how your whole life could change in a matter of daysâgoing from hating Spiderpunk with every fiber of your being, to being genuinely afraid of him not being in the same room as you. ButâŚheâs the one who saved you. This whole time, he was the only one who truly cared, and you felt so blind to have not seen it. He held you closer, lost deeply in his own thoughts. Hobieâs mind raced with thoughts of your safety, and specifically the death date in your files.Â
He decided he would worry about that another day, and for now, he would hold you closer.

âSerendipityâ || Diluc x Reader
â§A/N: Guys I wanted to write about older Reader and older Diluc, can you even blame me? Also, think of this as a palate cleanser after my previous work hehe
Sorry this took a while, the week has been busy and I had to put so much thought for this fic, wanted this to be great for you guys!
â§Warning/s: Smut
â§Synopsis: One night stands were supposed to only last for one night, that's why they're called that! But how is it you find yourself in a tricky situation as you find out that your one night stand happens to be your business partner too!Â
â§Word Count: 5.4k words
Minors kindly don't interact!
Oh how you wish the ground would just swallow you whole at this very moment.
There are things you expected for this day to go, that your time in Mondstadt would be a fruitful one or perhaps it would be an utter disappointment. However none of those expectations included seeing the man who just had a one night stand right in front of you and is about to make a business partnership with you!Â
âIt's a pleasure to see you, Miss Y/N."
âââââââââ
For most of your life as an adult you've spent your time focusing on your business. It was something you were determined to succeed in. Especially being born in the desert, there was only so much opportunity for you out there. So you worked hard for it all, but such passions have their own sacrifices and setbacks. You have secured yourself financially and you do uphold good relationships with friends and family. However such good relationships are unsuccessful when it comes to your dating life.Â
Back then you were dead set in solidifying your business, long hours in the office and sleepless nights. And this not only affected you but also the person you were dating, they said that there seems to be no place for them in your life. So time and time again, lover after lover, they all eventually left.Â
After some time you realized that romantic relationships are simply not for you. You suppose it's for the best, this way no one gets hurt but yourself as you sink into that lonely feeling.Â
Now that you're in your 40s there have been less people trying to approach you with romantic intent. Maybe it's because society has labeled you as some sort of âold hagâ, someone who has already reached their âexpiration dateâ or something offensive like that. But that doesn't bother you that much, as you mature you realize that it's best to just enjoy the moment, to have fun one night stands with attractive strangersâ so that for at least one night you'll feel the arms of another.Â
Currently you are celebrating in Lambadâs Tavern with a few friends as you have just recently successfully launched a new branch in Inazuma City. Quite proud that your spice business has been growing especially fastâ and soon it would reach Mondstadtâs lands since you also bagged yourself a potential business partner!
âA toast to our amazing friend, Y/N!â The clinking of glass and loud âCheersâ Can be heard all around the table. You felt shy by their enthusiasm, it was so sweet that they're doing this for you. Kaveh takes a sip of his wine before speaking to you. âHonestly Y/n you're on a roll right now.â You laugh at that. âWhat's that supposed to mean?â âOh come on! It's not easy to pull off a place there in Inazuma. They are way too strict with their transactions! And here you are settling one of your branches in Inazuma City no less.â
You playfully rolled your eyes. âYou're making it sound like it was easy for me, I can assure you it wasn't. It was kind of a nightmare actually.â you sigh just thinking back at the months you've spent there in Inazuma, getting papers approved and other transactions necessary before you were given the go sign to start building the branch.Â
Dehya took a swing of her drink and had a teasing smile on her face. âAs if it wasn't obvious already, I will never forget that day you returned to Sumeru with the most god awful eye bags and ran into a pole on your way haha!â Deyha laughed out loud and you could only groan at the memory.
As if the fatigue from work wasn't enough already, the ride home was so rocky with the most atrocious weather to boot that it had your head spinning. Dehya was the first one to meet you once you docked at Port Ormos, she waved a hand at you when she saw your board down the ship. As you waved back at her you excitedly ran to her, you seemed to miss the light pole right in front of you. Dehya will never let you forget that day.Â
âYeah yeah whatever! Gods are you annoying.â Dehya lets out another laugh. After Nilou took a bite of her Samosa she looked at you with slight concern. âBut about your health, I hope you did get the proper sleep you needed once you got homeâ You gave her a reassuring smile. âOf course I did, and anyways It wasn't a total nightmare there in Inazuma. After getting the go sign we went straight to building. There weren't any big problems along the way. Maybe because of a certain architect and his genius consultations and design.â You wink towards Kavehâs direction. He left out a âpfftâ in disbelief by the compliment.
âUh excuse me, the conversation was not about me, why don't we go back to running into poles or whatever.â Kaveh waved his hand in a dismissive way while taking a sip of his wine. A series of laughs follows and you just sit their mouth open and a hand to your chest, as if wounded by his diversion back to the embarrassing memory.Â
By the corner of the tavern a certain gentleman had his eyes on you, his eyes glued to your direction even as the blue haired man in front of him kept yapping about how exquisite the wine was. â It seems that you've mellowed down, Diluc.â Kaeya teases his brother as Diluc shifts his gaze away from you. âAnd what is that supposed to mean exactly?â
Kaeya grins towards his brother. âOh nothing, it's just that you've never openly expressed such interest towards other ladies before. Look at you now, enchanted by her like a moth to a flame~â Kaeya turns behind him and stares at you. You continue to laugh with your friends, never noticing the two gentlemen.Â
âWhy don't you speak to the lovely lady when you have the chance, yeah? After all, we will be off to Mondstadt by tomorrow evening.â
âââââââââ
By the end of the night you all had your fill of wine and food. As per usual Kaveh drank way past his limit, he even started mumbling gibberish while he walked as if he had two left feet. Nilou and Dehya insisted on being in charge of taking Kaveh back home, saying something in the lines of it was their duty at this point to drag him back to Al Haitham. As you waved goodbye to your friends, with Kaveh in the middle and his hands on both Dehya and Nilouâs shoulders, he lifted his head up and said his goodbye to you, his words slurred.Â
You giggled at the sight and watched as they slowly walked away farther from you and the tavern. Once they were completely gone you sighed in contentment and turned behind you where the scenery of the forest was. It was already late at night so the streets weren't full of people anymore, but that's good since all you want right now is to bask in the ambiance. Shops were already closing up, boats docked as they sway lighty to the wind, and the stars seem to shine brighter than usual.Â
Back when you were younger you would have never imagined seeing such a beautiful sight, thinking that only the familiar sight of sand would greet you everyday of your life. By the distance you see a couple walking together by the dock, they seem helpless in love, as if too busy in their own worlds to bother with anything else. A twinge of envy rises within you, but you try your best to push it away. After all, who would want that? Haven't you learned your lesson already, that kind of relationship just isn't for youâŚ
âIt really is beautiful here, isn't it?âÂ
Tall, dark, and handsome was not what you expected when you turned your head. The man has the most gorgeous pair of eyes, his tied up hair cascading elegantly down his back, a stubble adorned his face, while his posture held confidence. He looked like he was around your age. His eyes never left the scenery even when you looked at him, you simply smiled politely as you gazed back at the scenery. âYeah it really is, I love Sumeru especially at this hour.â The wind was slowly picking up, making your hair sway with the wind.
The gentleman turns to you with a pleasant smile, he reaches out his gloved hand towards you. âDiluc, and you are?â âDilucâ? Huh, familiarity rings at the name. You reached your hand out as well and shook hands with Diluc. âY/N, a pleasure to know you're at least not impolite.â You jest at him, he chuckles in response. âWell, I do hope I maintain a good impression.â âOh? And why is that?â âWellâŚâ He trails off his sentence and brings your hand close to his lips, he gives your hand a light kiss. His red eyes shifted towards you. âLet's say I simply want to enchant this one lady that has caught my eye.âÂ
Heat starts to slowly creep into your cheeks while a tingling sensation can be felt all throughout your hand, the hand that Diluc so delicately kissed.Â
Just then a couple started running past both of you and you immediately removed yourselves from another. You looked away from one another in embarrassment and behind both of you heard the couple passing by. âCome on! The theater is at its high right now, we can't miss it!â âHaha right behind you dear!â as their footsteps and voices faded farther Diluc and you just stood there in silence, a little embarrassed and unsure.Â
Just then an idea and just a bit of courage emerged within you. âSay, would you mind accompanying me to Zubayr Theater?â You were a bit hesitant to ask him, but for some reason there was just something pushing you to spend a little more time with Diluc. The red head seems to light this idea and his eyes shine a little. He offers his arm to you, to hook your arm with his. âShall we?â You are more than happy to take the offer as you wrap your arm with his, the familiar warmth coming back to you again.Â
As you both entered Zubayr Theater, you were greeted with colorful lights and laughter all around. Children and elderly alike were dancing and feasting on delicacies. And by the huge stage was a band that was playing all sorts of instruments while they maintained a lively beat that people can dance to. You begin to have a rush of excitement and unbeknownst to you, Diluc can see your eyes sparkling in elation. He directed his hand to the center where the people were dancing. âWould you care for a dance?â You looked at him. âYou know Sumeru dances?â âWell, it's only due to a certain dancer that I learned how to conduct these dances. So, shall we?â Without hesitation you nodded enthusiastically and pulled Diluc to dance.Â
And he stays true to his word, he dances to the beat of the music and syncs with you perfectly. As he twirls you around you can't help but be a little more charmed by this man, your hands were on one another for many hours as you both laughed heartily. This feeling of excitement and joy towards an individual was one you haven't felt in a while...it felt so foreign, yet not unwelcomed. Usually you'd spend your time like this towards someone you considered as your lover, and yet here you are treating this complete stranger with your guard down.Â
After some dancing you enjoyed some snacks at nearby stalls, while eating you both converse a little more, telling some stories any of you may have. You found out that Diluc is from Mondstadt and back in his younger days he used to be in the Knights of Favonious as a Cavalry Captain. And you on the other hand told tales of your childhood back in the desert and some trials you have faced. While speaking you didn't notice the way Diluc would look and listen to you attentively, making sure that while you speak he has his full attention on you.Â
There were even stalls nearby with fun games, Diluc was exceptionally good when it came to darts, he was able to hit the target successfully and gave you the prize which is a cute Aranara plushie.
âââââââââ
At some point you found yourselves back at the docks of Sumeru City. Both of you sat on the wooden planks while you removed your shoes, dunking your feet in the water. Only the sounds of buzzing from insects can be heard as you and Diluc bask in the comforting silence and the presence of one another. There were smiles on both of your faces, you were playing with the water beneath you, lightly splashing the water around.Â
Diluc looked at you tenderly, he thought you looked absolutely beautiful at this moment. The way the wind catches your hair, the lovely smile you wore, and how the moonlight seems to accentuate your features. He is completely captivated by you. It was only you and him at that moment, hearts pounding within in anticipation.Â
âAbout what you said a while agoâŚâ You start as Diluc looks at you. âWhich part? I believe I said too many things during our time together.â He chuckles. âAbout being interested in me, I don't think you should waste anymore energy on me.â âAnd who said anything about this being a waste of energy?â He was quick to reply back but you only looked down at your hands. You smiled bitterly. âIâm sure there are many beautiful young ladies out there worth your while.â âWell I have the perfect candidate right here.â âIâm not young, Diluc.âÂ
âBut you are beautiful.âÂ
Words seem to be stuck in your throat after he said that. It was unfair that he was saying all this, making you feel happy and special and for what? The night will only end in one way and after that you'll forget the other even existed. That's how it's always been. But unlike the others they never gave so much of their time to you, to actually get to know more about youâŚ
âAnd I don't mean beautiful as in your looks only, but also your laughâŚâ He trails off, his hand inching closer to yours. â...your smile, and most importantly your utmost determination towards a better life despite the odds being against you. I really respect that about you.â He was only an inch away from touching your finger tips when suddenly the wind picked up.Â
The night was already cold but the wind made it even colder, you start to rub your shoulders to ease the chilly air. Diluc sees this and starts taking his thick coat off. âAh, there's no needââ âPlease, take it.â You were a bit reluctant but nodded anyways, Diluc proceeded to drape his coat around your shoulder. You held the coat closer to your body, not only do you feel warmer now but the strong scent of the gentleman enters your senses. It felt somewhat comforting for some reason, you can smell hints of oak and vanilla.Â
You looked at Diluc and was about to thank him, however words left your mouth when you saw Diluc was already looking right at you. Your faces were practically inches away from one another, noses almost touching. You could feel your heartbeat start to quicken from the anticipation. Diluc observes your face a little more, checking to see if this was okay for you, if in any way there was a reason that he should be falling back right now and apologizeâ but no, there wasn't. You seem to want him just as much as he wants you.Â
Slowly he inches closer to you, the tips of your lips practically feeling the heat already. And as he closes the distance between you two, you finally share a tender kiss. You both close your eyes basking in the warmth of the other's lips. His left hand found itself cupping your cheek, deepening the kiss a little more. Your heart leaps in joy and even though you already had a coat on, you could practically feel the goosebumps all over your body.Â
As you both pulled away you were left breathless, you rested your head on his shoulder to catch your breath. You both giggle at this, probably from embarrassment, but mostly due to the butterflies forming in your stomachs. Diluc looks at you softly, but a hint of nervousness was present.Â
âSay, wouldâŚwould you mind accompanying me a little longer tonight?â
âââââââââ
The way to Dilucâs room was a bit of a blur, all you remember was how fast you two were walking while his hand was on yours. While walking your hearts kept pounding, the anticipation was tortuous but eventually you both arrived inside. Usually you weren't thisâŚnervous? When it comes to having sex with someone, usually it's all hot and heavy and clothes are dropped in a snap. But this time you were slow as you walked in and shook your shoes off.
Diluc was just behind you as he closed the door. Inside the room most of the lights were turned off, only the dimmed lights of some laps were providing you with light. But that only adds to the atmosphere. You were about to take the coat off your shoulders but Diluc got his hands on it first. Neither of you spoke, but there was no need for that really considering that the heavy tension did all the talking.Â
He took the coat off and dropped it on the floor, his hands slowly roam down to your hips, taking in every beautiful curve of your body. While his lips found themselves on your neck, kissing and teasing them oh so gently. It was a little agonizing with the pacing that he had chosen, you were getting hotter by the second. âDiluc whatââ âShh let me take care of you, please?â His voice was low yet tender, you could only nod and let him do what he wanted.Â
After he is done teasing he leads you to the bedroom, gently dragging you to the soft sheets of the bed. He entered the room first and sat on the bed, his legs spread a little wider while you stood up and looked down at him. He smiles and pats his thighs, asking for you to take a seat. âCome here, darling.â You compiled and sat on him while facing him.
Despite the lack of light, the moonlight creeping through the curtains does well to highlight Dilucâs features. He had a few wrinkles under his eyes, showing his age. Your hands land on Dilucâs face to swipe away some strands of hair away from his face, while you're doing this Diluc just observes you, enjoying the fact that you're taking in every detail of his face.Â
âHmm is there something you're trying to find on my face?â He chuckles when you slowly back off from his face. âIt's just that⌠you're really attractive.â You start removing your top, unbuttoning the buttons before dropping it on the floor, leaving you only with your bra. âYou think so? I can say the same thing about you, especiallyâŚâ He grabs a hold of your thighs and puts you down on the bed. âWhen youre right here in my arms~â Diluc smirks above you and adjusts your legs, keeping them at each side of his hips.
You grind yourself on him, you can feel some hardness down there. Diluc lets out a groan and proceeds to kiss down to your almost bare chest. He unclasps your bra to suckle on your nipples, he teases one of them with his lips while the other is being pinched and rubbed. You pant as a response and grab onto his hair, this made Diluc groan, he seems to enjoy his hair being touched.Â
He then travels down your body, the tip of his nose slides lower while you can feel his hot breath on your skin. He stops just above your hips, you were about to unzip your shorts, however Diluc stops you before you could sit up.
âI insist.â He says in a deep voice as he bites the zipper between his teeth and zips it down, he then completely removes your shorts off you to reveal your panties. Without a care he discards it on the floor before diving in to press his nose on your puffy pussy lips. He can feel your wetness even through the thin fabric. You can feel his hot breath and the stimulation of his nose, you whine out. âLuc, stop teasing.â He hums at your complaint, the vibrations of his voice stimulating you more. He hooks your panties and removes them to expose your pretty pussy.
It wasn't quite wet yet and Diluc is still left unsatisfied. But that's alright, he simply dived down and started eating you out like a starved man. At first he starts licking you, making sure to tease and prod every part that his tongue can reach, then after that he begins to suck on your clit, earning a whine out of you. His hands grip both your thighs, making sure that they spread wide since you end up unconsciously closing your legs.
Your moans and whines are delicious, your hands are on his hair and fisting him, holding on for dear support from the delirious pleasure. Just seeing the way you feel good makes his cock hard, yet despite the unattended hard on between his legs he does not touch himself just yet. How could he? He's way too busy pleasuring you to even think of himself. He needs to see and hear more of you.
The pleasure only increases from there when you feel a finger enter you. âOh archons Diluc!â Your back arched a bit from the sudden intrusion. Diluc kept going with both his mouth and fingers teasing your cunny. If that wasn't already enough You could hear Diluc groaning and moaning from below, he seems to be hot and bothered just like you. "That's enough Luc, come here, pleaseâŚâ And who was he to deny you really?Â
He starts removing his own clothes, when he was left with only his boxers you could see the form of his cock. He starts pumping himself but then you sit up. âWait, let me.â Diluc looks at you but compiles anyways, he removes his hand from his cock. You start spitting and licking your hand, making sure to put as much saliva as you can and start stroking him, as you do this Dilucâs breath hitches. With your free hand you cup it on his cheek and share a kiss with him, you could hear him softly moaning and groaning.Â
With you stroking his cock and your luscious lips devouring him he can't help but feel oh so hot and bothered. He even believes that he could cum right here right now if you don't stop any moment from now. He pulls away first and rests his forehead with your, he was panting with his eyes closed. âOkay stop, any more and I just might cumââ He was interrupted when you pushed him down on the bed, with you straddling above him. Your hand travels down his beautiful body, your nails dragging down on his skin.
âLet me return the favor, yeah?â
âââââââââ
Usually after such a passionate night you would immediately leave early in the morning, to forget their faces and move on with lifeâŚHowever this time it's different, you can't help but look back at that one special night with Diluc. The sex was amazing of course, but was it wrong to have felt that it was more than just sex? Your head gets all scrambled up just thinking about the situation too much. It's been two weeks since then, you won't see him face any longer thus such an individual is out of your life. All that matters now is to meet and hopefully score a partnership with this wine tycoon from Mondstadt.Â
âIt's a pleasure to see you, Miss Y/N.â The redhead said before you, his eyes were cold and his form was towering over you. Beside you was the Cavalry Captain, the one that told you all about this partnership. âIâm so happy that you could come, Miss Y/N. This is the renowned Diluc Ragnvindr, owner of the Dawn Winery. He has anticipated your arrival!âÂ
You pray to any god out there that hears you to save you from this dreadful situation. You hesitantly reach out your hand towards Diluc, nervousness was evident on your face. âMr. Ragnvindr a pleasure to meet you as well.â Diluc's eye didnât leave you even as he shook hands with you. And although you want the ground to just swallow you whole right now, there's a sense ofâŚhappiness? Lighting up within you as felt Dilucâs touch.Â
âNow, since the introductions are finished, my job here is done. I have more work to do back at headquarters, may the wind lead you to a prosperous partnership.â Oh gods no, please Kaeya stay! As the man walks away from you two, you're left alone with the Wine Tycoon. You swallowed the small bit of dread within you and acted accordingly, to pretend as if you've never met before, yeah! You're sure Diluc would do the same.
âWell then Mr. Ragnvindr shall we go straight to business?â âAh yes of course, Miss Y/N. Kindly follow me.â Relief washes over you, this day should go smoothly. Just then Diluc offers you his arm. âWhy don't we walk through these Grape Vines as we discuss, yes?â You looked down at his arm. âI would love that, however I can't possiblyââ Suddenly he comes closer to your ear, the invisible barrier you had gone. He whispers âI insist.â
A chill runs down your spine. The memories of him between your legs flashes in your mind and your cheeks burn in embarrassment. You hesitate as you hook your arm with his, slowly you two walk along the beautifully grown grape vines.Â
The fruits were lucious and some even ready for harvesting already, you look at your surroundings in amazement. For a brief moment you were distracted, Diluc was too as he watched your reaction. âWow, I've never seen grape vines like these, they never looked so healthy and succulent!â Your hand touches a couple of grapes, inspecting its quality.
âDawn Winery provides only the best quality for its customers.â Diluc responds right away, he too inspects the grapes around him, proud that he has amazed you, and to at least ease off your nervousness away. The last thing he wants is that look of uncomfortableness on your face and to have your eye practically screaming for help.Â
âWhy?â
Both of you come to an abrupt stop. His eyes were looking at yours, a look of frustration and hurt mixed in his eyes. âDiluc Iââ âI was worried about you.â You paused and looked down at your feet. Diluc looks at you and sighs. âI apologize, I justâŚthe day you left, you didn't just leave my side but you also left with my heart.â Your heart beats faster hearing that. âI know we never discussed meeting each other in the near future, but I thought my intention towards you was clear. Not only that but how would I have known if you were alright? Did I hurt you anywhere or if you were okay mentally? â
Your hand forms a fist as you clenched down hard. âYou didn't have to worry all that, what we had was a simple one night stand Diluc.â âWas it really just that?â âYes, it was. We left that room satisfied and that's all that matters.â âThat's bullshit and you know it.â âIt's not, and anyways why are we talking about this? None of this matters!âÂ
âWell it does to me!â You avoid his gaze, you can't look at them , you just can't. Because deep down you know that once you look back at his eyes you'll fall right back at this stupid spell he somehow put upon you.
âLook at me please.â When you looked as if you were not budging he steps closer to you, his gloved hand approaches your face as his index finger drags along your cheek tenderly. In a whisper he speaks. âPlease look at me, darling.â He sounds so gentle, as if pleading for your attention.
You decide to give in, you can't just not look at him, right? After he asked so nicely tooâŚbut at the same time damn him for asking with that soft voice of his. You slowly tilt your head upwards and are met with that gentle smile of his, the same one he gave you before sharing your first kiss under the moonlight.Â
âThere she is.â You were left breathless as he rested his forehead on yours. Both of you closed your eyes , soaking in each other's presence, after weeks of not seeing each other, desperate for touch. âGods I miss you so much and you don't know itâŚâ Your heart gets a little wounded hearing that, he sounds so hurtâŚ
âI'm so sorry âLuc.â Your hands found themselves on both sides of Dilucâs face, your thumbs rubbed on him in comfort. âI didn't mean to hurt you, truly. I was just unsure andâŚafraid? I can't quite understand myself, but all I know is that I don't want to be hurt anymore âLuc. Heh kind of ironic isn't it?â Diluc furrowed his eyebrows at that. âWell Iâm not here to hurt you, please give me a chanceâŚgive us a chance.â His hands rest comfortably on your waists, but this just gives more proof on how compatible you two are. It just felt so right that he's here.Â
You sigh before you smile back at Diluc and pounce toward him, you land your lips on his happily. This came as a surprise for Diluc, but it was a surprise most welcome. He sighs from the kiss and wraps his arms on your waists tighter, keeping you as close as he can.Â
âââââââââ
âYou know, I knew we would see each other again.â Diluc said as you both walked while holding hands. âOh?...Wait, don't tell me you knew me from the start?â âWhat no! Honestly I didn't anticipate sleeping with a potential supplier and business partner haha!â Diluc laughs softly, the last thing he wanted was a sticky situation, and yet here he is. âOkay so how did you know about me?â âAfter you left that night, I tried finding you around Sumeru City and I had to find you fast since hours later I would need to leave and head back to Mondstadt.âÂ
You looked at him, tilting your head. âAnd? Did you find me..?â âSadly no, however I did have your name investigated as soon as I settled down here.â You slapped Dilucâs shoulder playfully. âEw you investigated me? Creep.â You laugh as he looks at you, as if offended. âWell excuse me that I couldn't find you, my mystery girl just suddenly disappeared without a trace after spending the most wonderful night with me!â âOkay you sap, what happened next?â Diluc simply smiles as he continues.Â
âI brought it up to Kaeya and that bastard simply grinned, he told me that your business was the perfect candidate he deemed worthy for Dawn Winery. I never anticipated he chose you as Dawn Winderyâs supplier, after all there were so many in Sumeru and not only that but Kaeya never revealed to me your name early on, he said to just trust his choices and forced me to drink with himâŚâÂ
âHuh a sly one that one isâŚbut perhaps we should thank him?â âPerhaps, but first..â Diluc suddenly picks you up and carries you with both his arms. âWe have some unfinished business, why don't we head inside Miss Y/N, hm?âÂ

Sunsets and footballers (Part 31)
Lucy Bronze x Reader (29)
Masterlist (other parts here)
YFN eventually managed to find a car park and carefully park Lucyâs car. Still no phone call. It was now 6pm.
She turned the car off and sighed her stress, placing her head on the steering wheel. She didn't want to text, and now she didnât want to call. Was Lucy ashamed that sheâd been caught on camera with Ona? Was their relationship more serious than she realised and Lucy just didnât know how to tell her? Was she just a convenient fling in England for her? Perhaps an easy break without emotional complications was for the best.
âYouâre okay,â she whispered to herself. She heard her tears hit the centre of the steering wheel. âYouâre going to be okay. This is why we donât let people in, Blue.â She sniffled. âIt hurts right now but weâre going to be fine. We always are.â
Talking to herself out loud always helped her when she was a kid, trying to understand the strong, scared emotions her father stirred in her, and sheâd carried that on into adulthood.
She sniffed again and lifted her head, wiping her tears and attempting a smile for her colleagues. She knew that if she stayed in that car, sheâd just fall further into that emotional wreck, and so she grabbed her equipment and entered the stadium.
The game hadnât even begun yet, it was scheduled for 6:45pm, so she had time to get through security with her pass and head to the bathroom where she tidied herself up and made the decision to take Lucyâs hoodie off, and switch to a Lumos hoodie. It just felt like the right thing to do. She folded it carefully and placed it in her workbag, with the intention of leaving it at Lucyâs apartment that night. She figured it would make sense to leave the keys there as well, though her main concern was the car. She didnât have one.
YFN: Hi Joe, any chance I can take you up on that previous offer for a work vehicle?
Joe was always working. She replied almost instantly.
Joe: Absolutely! Iâll get onto that first thing in the morning.
Joe: Also, Iâve had a look through the footage from tonight. Itâs excellent.
YFN: Thank you, I appreciate it.
YFN: You picked some incredibly talented people for the job.. I can already see a need for a lot more people.
Joe: Just let me know what you need. I have a lot of faith in this.
YFN knew Joe was someone who poured her heart and soul into whatever she did. She was intelligent and a smart businesswoman, though the words from the twat, Mark, at the Charity Event had stuck with her. She knew she had to ask Joe what heâd meant when heâd mentioned âthe controversy she bringsâ, though she knew it was best for another night, and perhaps not over message.
YFN: I do too. I was also roped into doing our first interview with a few of the Arsenal and City players. Iâll send you the rough footage now.
Joe: Looking forward to it!
YFN sent the footage and entered pitch side where the teams were warming up and was happy that the weather wasnât nearly as cold as it had been the previous matches. Emily spotted her first and came over to chat about the best photo spots, while Bridget was scouting around the entire edging of the pitch the find the best video positions. She eventually looped back around to them to join in on the work discussions.
It was during their discussions that YFN noticed a photographer taking footage of them all together. Sheâd never been to Broadfield Street Stadium before and so she assumed it was perhaps someone from media for one of the teams, however he was incredibly persistent and focussed on the Lumos trio. YFN didnât want to worry the girls, and so she finished up their discussions and let them get back to getting footage of the players during their warms ups.
As warm-ups finished, YFN took a few final photos of the teams and looked down at the images, proud of the action shots. It was then that she noticed Mary Earps walking over to her. Sheâd spoken to Mary at the pub quite a lot, having been introduced through the England squad. She was the goalkeeper for Man United, and for the Lionesses. Mary, Queen of Stops.
âHey, you! Good to see you! How are you mate?â She went straight in for a hug. Mary was lovely and caring, as always.
âHey Mary. Iâm great besides the very long day Iâm having.â She laughed. âYou were looking pretty solid in warm ups.â
âAw thanks mate!â She said enthusiastically, hands still on her shoulders and giving her a little shake.
âI have no idea how you jump so high or so quick and the speed that you get up⌠I was worn out just watching you!â
She laughed at that. âAw youâre too kind..â then she whispered, âIâll give you a tenner later.â
YFN rolled her eyes. âStill struggling to accept compliments, I see!â
âAlways mate. Itâs just so awkward! Anyways, you girls are looking so cute in your little merch. Any chance I could have a beanie?â
âOh course.â YFN chuckled and grabbed a beanie from her merch bag before putting it on the keeper herself. âLook at that!â
âDo I look cute?â She asked cheekily. âI look cute, donât I?â
âYouâre adorable.â She laughed. âDo they put you up in hotel overnight for these late night games?â
âOh, yeah. Theyâve booked us in London though so itâs a bit of a travel. Late night for us. Where are you staying?â
âLondon also.â She shrugged. âWe probably wonât be home until 11pm.â
Mary groaned and she joined in. They bantered for a little longer until Mary was called into the training rooms and ran away excitedly with her little beanie on.
The game was fairly evenly matched, which was a surprise as Man United were a notoriously a hard team to beat. Because it was so back and forth, the Lumos crew including YFN found themselves running up and down the field for the best footage. It was almost comical. Almost.
At half time, Brighton were up 1-0 and Mary looked disappointed in herself, regardless of the fact that sheâd made some incredible saves. Following the break, there was a 2nd yellow given to yet another United player, and it wasnât until both teams had made multiple substitutions that the next goal was scored, and it was a United goal. 10 minutes later Brighton scored their 2nd, however United managed to equalise again in over time, ending it in a 2-2 draw.
The whole game was entertaining, especially watching Mary have to make so many saves, but also uncomfortable as YFN kept noticing that one photographer who was still taking photos of Lumos around the pitch. She didnât understand until when they were nearing the end of the game, and she saw a businessman in a suit talking to the photographer and pointing to her. She hadnât recognised him as he walked down from the crowd, but she had when she saw them talking a little closer to her. It was Mark. Mark from the Charity Event. The one who had basically warned her about Joe without actually warning her. He looked up from his photographer and caught YFNâs eye. Usually it would be normal to smile and wave, but he didnât. He simply stared with an expression on his face that she couldnât decipher. Whatever it was, it wasnât positive.
From then on, she tried to move further away, working her way around the edge of the pitch, however the photographer was always close behind, following her. She felt uneasy, however she was glad he was focussed on her and not her colleagues. She tried to keep him far away from them.
At the end of the game, Mary came back over for her usual, friendly chat and brought Katie Zelem and Ella Toone with her. They were all Lionesses, having played in major tournaments together, and she'd met them all at the pub, so it was a great, natural banter they had about the game. Somehow, she was also roped into doing an interview with the three of them, after Mary had seen that sheâd interviewed others and insisted on it, fakely threatening favouritism if YFN didnât. Bridget came over, they set them up with mics and the âinterviewâ was basically a good chat about all things in the match. YFN realised how much she loved the dynamic of interviewing multiple players who would tease each other and bounce off each other. It was the perfect, relaxed setting. She also made sure to not ask too many questions about the game, preferring that the girls talk about whatever they wanted to about the game to avoid the typical media response. It wasnât lost on her, however, that Markâs photographer was filming everything. She put on a brave face for the camera, smiling and laughing with the girls, but felt uneasy.
They all parted ways and Bridget, Emily and YFN didnât hang around long as theyâd all had long days. It was now 9:30pm and they still had a 90 minute drive back to London. They agreed to do their editing tomorrow and call it a night. As YFN entered the car, the hair on the back of her neck stood up as she saw a car parked behind her, on and idling, as if waiting for her to leave. It was strange because most of the car park was already empty, and it was right behind her. One look in the driverâs seat and she could see who it was. The photographer.
She tried to keep her fear under control as she entered Lucyâs car and locked the doors. She immediately felt better but that all went away when she found herself on the M23 being followed.
She told herself to calm down and that they were probably taking a different exit, but they werenât. They followed her to the M25 and all the way back to towards Lucyâs apartment.
YFN was starting to get scared and ran a cheeky orange light to lose them, which worked. She parked up Lucyâs car and entered the apartment, feeling like she didnât belong. She turned the lights on and put the keys down near the entrance as she wandered into the beautifully modern place with her overnight bag over her shoulder. She looked around briefly and was reminded of the few happy memories. Sex here. Flirting there. Making out here. Massaging Lucyâs knee there. Making breakfast there.
She shook her head as if it would remove those memories and entered the guest bedroom. She couldnât bring herself to use Lucyâs bedroom. The one theyâd cuddled in and done much worse things in. She unpacked the few items from her overnight bag and looked at the time. Just after 11pm. She needed sleep. She quickly showered and then got dressed into a pair of pajama shorts and a loose top by itself, no bra. And socks, of course. She always needed socks.
She went to get some water and then found herself fighting a losing battle and letting curiosity and her emotions get the better of her as she entered Lucyâs room. She didnât pry, she just⌠looked. Remembered. Then she went into the bathroom which was still filled with Lucyâs face care all lined up and⌠a blue toothbrush. Like the one sheâd left at Jordanâs. YFN picked it up slowly and stared at it before her lips trembled and she gave in to those emotions from the previous few days.
âYouâre okay.â She whispered to herself in between sobs. âYouâre okay⌠itâll pass, remember? Youâve got this.â
Suddenly she heard the front door and ran out as far as Lucyâs bedroom door to see the front door handle shaking, someone palying with the lock. The photographer? Or Mark? She didnât call out because that would be an admittance that she was in fact there in the apartment. Instead her reaction was to close Lucyâs bedroom door quietly and then move into her bathroom, shutting that and entering the shower. None of the doors had locks and sheâd never been more frustrated or scared in her life. She stood in the shower with her back to the corner of the wall, and looked down at the blue toothbrush that was her only form of defence. She couldnât fight a man.. especially with her being so small.
She heard footsteps and could feel her body shaking as the bathroom door swung open.

Don't Let Your Intrusive Thoughts Win - Part 1
Pairing: Breanna Stewart x OC!Griffin
Summary: Griffin, the 9th 2024 WNBA draft pick, was an unusual case, coming out of the University of Kentucky. You see, Griffin was short. Not just WNBA short, like short short. Like Griffin was barely 5â2. The Liberty, the team she was drafted to, loved to call her the shortest player of all time, but Griffin loved to 1. Remind them that Shannon Bobbitt was also 5â2 and 2. That she was definitely taller than Shannon. So she was the second shortest WNBA player of all time. The Liberty would roll their eyes at her, basically as one.Â
Warnings: Swearing
Word Count: 1.3k
Note: This is a series I started forever ago that I picked back up, I love to hear y'all's opinions!

Donât let your intrusive thoughts win.
Itâs not worth it.
She will literally throw you across the court like a damn bowling ball.
âŚ
Fuck Iâm gonna do it.
âGriffin I am going to KILL YOU,â Stewie cried out as Griffin may or may not have just flung herself at her back and scrambled up to her shoulders.
Sabrina, aka the woman she was discussing basketball plays with, doubled over with tears in her eyes as she watched Griffin catapult from Stewieâs shoulders and hit the ground running.
Stewie, of course, turned and gave chase, cussing her out the entire time.
âSTEWIE YOU DONâT UNDERSTAND, TUMBLR SAID TO CLIMB YOU LIKE A TREE!â
âWHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN ROOKIE?â
â
That interaction basically sums up Griffin and Stewieâs relationship. Griffin, the 9th 2024 WNBA draft pick, was an unusual case, coming out of the University of Kentucky. You see, Griffin was short. Not just WNBA short, like short short. Like Griffin was barely 5â2.
The Liberty team loved to call her the shortest player of all time, but Griffin loved to 1. Remind them that Shannon Bobbitt was also 5â2 and 2. That she was definitely taller than Shannon. So she was the second shortest WNBA player of all time.
The Liberty would roll their eyes at her, basically as one.Â
Griffin was surprised to get recruited to Kentucky when she was in high school, having not expected to get into any D1 programs because of her height.Â
That 79% made three point percentage mustâve sweetened the pot enough for Kentucky to ignore her lack of trees for arms.
Griffin played her heart out at Kentucky, leading them to a March Madness victory and a player of the year award.Â
Sabrina swears that if Griffin had been 6 feet tall, she would have been the first draft pick for the WNBA. Griffin secretly agrees with Sabrina, but she understood that most teams couldnât take that risk.
It all worked out for Griffin, as she got to be in her favorite city, with her favorite people, and of course with her favorite vet, Miss Stewie herself.
âÂ
âYouâre doing extremely well, I donât want to keep commenting on your height, because Iâm sure youâve heard it all, but I am impressed on how well youâre keeping up,â Sandy wanted to meet with Griffin before the season truly began. Griffin was settling in wonderfully, she could hold her own against the majority of the team and was even outpacing other point guards. Sandy felt like she would be coming off the bench beautifully, she just wanted to make sure the rookie felt okay about the entire situation.
Griffin sat on the opposite side of Sandyâs desk, feeling slightly embarrassed by the praise sent her way.
âIâm loving this team, I am so so grateful that you gave me a chance and this team has embraced me so well, I truly canât thank you enough,â Griffin wasnât blind to the fact that the Liberty took a risk when they drafted her, she was determined to not make them regret it.
âGriffin you are working your ass off, I and the team are more than proud of you. However, I didnât call you in here just to chat. As you know, the season is starting soon and, while you wonât start, I do want you coming off the bench and getting minutes against teams I believe you can handle. I wonât be throwing you into the deep end and Iâm not expecting you to carry the team. Youâre a rookie and I expect rookie mistakes.â Sandy worried about this round of rookies. It was no secret that the Fever were expecting Caitlin Clark to carry that team for the time being. The rest of the rookie class had, in Sandyâs opinion, a ridiculous amount of media coverage and pressure for a bunch of 21-22 year olds - kids basically.Â
âThat being said, youâre doing very well in practice but I wanted to ask you, in private, and you better be honest with me: is there any part of the game that you donât feel good about?â
Griffin felt her heart stop, it was like Sandy could read her mind.
âSandy I donât want to sound like a wimp,â Sandy chuckled at that.
âBut the WNBA is a different game from college, itâs such a jump. Iâm not worried I wonât be good enough, I know that with time Iâll be able to go against these women, but I am worried about taking the physicality in the games.âÂ
Sandy had suspected the physicality would be a problem for Griffin, but since she rarely ran drills specifically on that, she hadnât had a chance to see how she would do.
âI donât blame you for being nervous, these women are adults, not the kids you were against in college. They are solid muscle and full grown, I wonât lie to you and say theyâll go easy on you just because youâre small,â Sandy drummed her fingers on the desk, trying to think about how to approach this.
âYou know, for the most part, any game you play in this season, the tallest player will be around Stewieâs height. They may be bigger than Stewie, but I bet I can convince Stewie to run some drills with you, away from the rest of the team, to get you used to how theyâll treat you on the court.âÂ
âThank you coach,â Griffin let out a breath she didnât realize she was holding.
âThat would be awesome,â
â
âOkay rookie, Coach said youâre scared of getting hit,â
âStewie you know damn well that is NOT what she said!â Griffin huffed back at the stupidly tall vet. They were spending their Saturday on the court with a list of drills from Coach to run through.
âBasically. Whatever, so this first drill is literally me just bulldozing you and you trying to stay on your feet. This doesnât seem fair to you,â Stewie remarked with a glance at Griffin.
âThere was no reason to look me up and down,â
âRookie you are literally like two feet tall, I barely had to look back up,â
âSTEWIE!âÂ
This time it was Stewie that ran with Griffin sprinting after her. Her infectious laughter rang out from the court and she slid to a stop at the end of the gym, turning to see her not far behind. She gave chase around the gym for a few laps, cursing at Stewie every time she made an unnaturally agile turn or reached a long ass arm back to keep her away. Griffin finally caught up as Stewie hesitated while running towards the rack of basketballs, giving just enough time for Griffin to catch up and dive for the back of Stewieâs knees, effectively bringinging the giant to the floor.Â
Aka, a more even fight.
âI yield! I yield!â Stewie cried as Griffin jumped up from her dive and grabbed her into a headlock, holding the taller woman on the floor.
âSay Iâm the best player here!â
âFine, youâre the best player here!â
âSay Iâm of average height!â
âOh rookie be so for real,âÂ
Griffin huffed and let Stewie go, who was holding her sides and laughing. The shorter woman got to her feet and stood over the heaving Stewie with her hands on her hips.
âWhen youâre done being a damn bully Iâm ready to start the drills!â She turned on her heels and went back to the original side of the gym, leaving Stewie still laughing on the floor.
It took a good five minutes for Stewie to get her ass up and over to Griffin.
âSorry rookie, you just say the funniest damn things,â Stewie looked down at Griffin and patted her on her head.
Like a dog.
âStewie, have I ever told you how much I hate you?â
âShut up, you love me,â

It all felt like a blur. One moment he was on the pitch, following the ball, waiting for the right opportunity to make an assist that would win them the Champions League, or even better, make the goal of his career so far. Then, in what seemed like a mili-second, Rodri took the chance and made all of his dreams a reality.
They were the UCL champions. Finally.Â
He ran after his teammates, shouting at the top of his lungs, hugging every single person that crossed his path. He couldnât believe it. The sequence of greeting, accepting the medal, cheering on a cloud of confetti with all of his team, looking at the screaming fans, and feeling like his face would split in half from all the smiling passed quickly.Â
He wanted to see you. He knew you were near, next to his family. The adrenaline rush was so high that he felt like jumping in place. Once he finally saw you running across the pitch towards him on your Man City shirt, smiling as beautifully as always and shouting his name, he knew he needed to do something. Anything. Â
âErling! You did it!â Was the first thing he heard falling from your lips before your body practically slammed itself against his. He hugged you so tightly that he was afraid he might actually crush you.Â
When you separated, he didnât think twice. He just held your face with both hands and went for a kiss. Only when he had his lips against yours did he realize what he was doing. But he didnât have time for regrets; he only laughed when he let you go, not knowing what to expect.
âIâŚâ He started, still holding your face, trying to find the right words to excuse himself in case you were mad.
âIâm so proud of you.â You said instead, the smile never leaving your face. Then you were the one going in for a kiss, having to tiptoe a bit to reach. This kiss was less effusive, but still full of something he knew was mutual.
So he wasnât only winning the UCL today.Â
The moment, as intimate as it could be in the middle of a pitch full of people, lasted a few seconds more before teammates, photographers and family came by, cheering and hugging him. He saw you stepping back with the same sweet smile, hugging one of his sisters and greeting other family members of close teammates.Â
After he had done all the basic photos that he was asked to pose for, he called you. You turned, hiding his last name on the back of your shirt with your hair. He pointed to the trophy, which was resting on the ground, waiting for the next player to pick it up. Someone (probably his father) has put a Norway flag on your shoulders, and when you jogged towards him, he never felt prouder. Â
âWanna take some pictures with it?â He said once you made it to his side, pointing to the trophy again.Â
âOf course I do.â Both of you seemed a bit nervous to actually speak, but once you squated next to it, he felt like you both knew what to do.Â
You fixed the flag around his shoulders while he held you by the waist, both grabbing the holders and smiling at the cameras. A few flashes later, he helped you lift it. Both of you kissed it, still looking at the camera. Then you turned to look at him, holding his gaze, he felt the need to kiss you again.Â
He knew it was very possible for a couple of videos of him kissing you were already up there. But if he did this, the photos would most definitely make it to every single page and it was going to be official.
There wasnât anything else he wanted more. So he leaned at the same time as you, both kissing for a brief moment for the cameras. He heard cheering on the back, and once you were done, Rodri patted his shoulders so he would be able to take photos with his family.Â
Still wrapped around the flag, you both walked back to his family, hugging each other and chatting like nothing happened. Well, like nothing new happened. Alfie stared at both of you for a moment before letting it go, like he knew this would happen eventually.
Hours later, his predictions were certain. There were videos and pictures everywhere of the moment you ran into each other and kissed. Hundreds of people were wondering if you had always been his girlfriend instead of his friend. Then the photos started to also make their way into every single page that popped up on his homepage. They complimented your reaction, your beauty, the way you both looked at each other, when he carried you around the pitch, and how cute it was when you fixed his Man City hat and kissed his cheek. Everyone was happy for him.Â
He was happy for himself.Â
What a day to be a winner.

I'm thinking about you, in this place without you, in this placĐľ where we usĐľd to be together, I still think of you all the time
wc: 7.4k
genre: childhood best friends to strangers to ???; gn!reader; idiots in love; fluff; angst.
cw: slight mentions of parenthood (theyâre not parents); mentions of marriage; broken promises?; secrets; paced throughout the entirety of their career up to date (2023); panic attack; roomies are based of my irls; Eve actually has amazing luck and gets her bias in legit every single album; was not initially inspired by There, that song just really freaking fits this story
roadmap: starts in present; jumps back to pre-debut; tracks readers perspective throughout the years; ends back in present (The SOUND + 5 Star era)
Friendships donât always end because of things you canât come back from, they donât always end in a spectacular burst of harsh words and emotions. A majority of the time, they end due to distance, fizzling slowly until it dies out all together, people with shared memories and experiences becoming virtual strangers.
But should that mean the promises you made to one another should die along with it?
You had never thought so, which is what brought you to this crowded stadium, standing amongst people who are a little too much like you, watching the man that you once knew better than you knew yourself performing, shining brighter than the sun.Â
Han Jisung was where he was meant to be, doing what he loved with friends that get to share the experience. Friends that are important to him and you believe always will be. Unlike you.
Sure, the version of you he last knew all those years ago is likely still a fond memory to him, youâre sure he thinks about you at least every once in a while, wonders what youâre doing nowâat least you hope he does.Â
Truth is, being an idol doesnât leave space for that kind of stuff. Itâs isolating work; family, friendships outside of your members and other idols, a private life, itâs hard to maintain, which is why you never took it personally when the daily calls turned to weekly texts, monthly updates, and eventually nothing at all.
There were times you were tempted to message him, tell him youâre proud of him, that you miss him. But frankly, you donât even know if he still has your number, or if the one you have is still his.
The albums littering your bookshelf that you had bought and spent hours listening to together had been joined by untouched copies of basically any Stray Kids album you could get your hands on. His photocards were now littered amongst the polaroids and cut up school yearbook pictures the two of you decorated your old bedroom walls with, all of them somehow surviving your move to America.
Sometimes you wonder what heâd think if heâd see your room now. The Jisung you knew wouldâve joked with you, asking if you were secretly in love with him or if you just finally accepted he was the prettier best friend. But the Jisung in the photocards was a stranger to you. You felt more like a fan, a fellow Stay harboring a parasocial relationship with eight boys that youâll likely never speak to, than you did an old friend.
But you were content with it all. Your best friend will always be your best friend, even if you never have another movie night with asinine amounts of junk food. Even if you never again get to see his unruly curls in the midday lighting as you eat breakfast together at lunch time. Even if your children only ever know him by your stories and his stage persona.
Promises were sacred to you, so even when you are painfully aware youâre no longer his best friend, you keep the promise you made all those years ago to your best friend. You support him with no question or hesitation. So when you heard Stray Kids were performing in your city, you didnât hesitate to buy the overpriced ticket.
````
âHow crazy would it be if Chan-hyungâs idea actually works? Think about it, your best friend could be an idol someday!â
You laughed at his quiet excitement. During his time at JYP Entertainment as a trainee, youâd grown fond of his two friends, Chan and Changbin, having quickly become 3Rachaâs first fan and biggest supporter.
âI canât wait to tell interviewers embarrassing stories from your childhood.â
âGo right ahead, you were by my side for all of them so theyâre your embarrassing stories too!â
The both of you laughed, knowing he was right, and while the banter continued on like that, discussing the what ifâs of Chanâs success, you couldnât help but start to wonder where youâd truly fit into the narrative.
Bang Chan had gotten tired of sitting on the sidelines, patiently waiting his turn, quietly holding his breath every time groups were formed, hoping his name would be amongst them. You knew heâd been there longer than anyone, he likely knew more people in the industry personally than you could hope to even as a fan, and he knew how to have a successful group, heâd seen enough of them come out of his time as a trainee. So you hadnât been shocked when Jisung had told you about his idea and he systematically started hand picking eight other trainees and approaching them with it, starting with Jisung and Changbin.
You hadnât officially met the others Chan had chosen, but you had seen them practicing when you brought Jisung his lunch that he had forgotten at your place.Â
For a rag tag group thrown together by a trainee, they were pretty good already and you could see them being very successful one day.
````
âYouâre gonna come to all our shows, right?â
Jisung was starting to get nervous about the plan. Itâs been going well thus far, they had been chosen to debut but were now being put through the ringer to ensure they were to the companies standards.Â
The boys had barely taken any breaks since being tasked with composing and choreographing a song entirely by themselves. Youâd heard Jisung practicing non-stop, even while you were supposed to be having movie night. You knew he was more nervous than heâd own up to, but you also knew when he set his mind to something, heâd see it through to the end.
âAll of them sounds unrealistic, Ji.â He pouted at your response, obviously disappointed. You just chuckled and shook your head. âHow about this, I pinky promise swear that no matter what, I will attend every single show put on, in my area. Okay? Even if we get into some devastating argument and never talk again, even if we somehow lose communication and havenât spoken in years, even if we get married and I four rugrats to deal with, Iâll be at every single one near me. Deal?â You held your pinky out for him to link his with.
âThree things. One, are you in love with me or something? You want my kids, Y/n/n~?â You both laughed as he teased you, tickling your sides, before he got serious. âSecondly, Iâll never let either of those other things happen. Ever. Youâre my best friend. Nothing, not even becoming an idol, is going to change that. You are so stuck with me for the rest of your miserable life.â
âDoes that mean marriage isnât off the table for you?â You interrupted him, attempting to tease him back.
âIf it means never losing you, Iâll put a ring on it right here, right now.â
Your breath caught in your throat at the complete sincerity in his eyes.
âYouâre never gonna lose me either way, Ji.â You said softly, watching as his face softened before he finally linked his pinky with yours. Â
âThen every show near you sounds good enough for me.â He kissed the back of your hand, pinkies still linked together, and you kissed his, sealing the promise.
````
The crowd held its breath as they awaited the final judgment on the fate of Stray Kids.Â
You didnât know Minho or Felix very well at all, having only spent a handful of short lived conversations in each others company, but the way Jisung had cried until he passed out and slept through the night on your couch after Minho had been eliminated from the group, and then shortly after did it again for Felix, you didnât have to know them personally to know you needed all nine boys to be accepted. Stray Kids were nine, and you didnât think you could accept it any other way.
So to say the relief and joy you felt at the announcement that they would debut as nine felt all consuming would probably be an understatement. All you wanted to do was drag the boys into a big hug and congratulate them.
As they finally left the stage, you couldnât hold yourself back from running to meet a relieved and ecstatic Jisung.Â
âWe did it!â He yelled, catching you in his arms and swinging you around. He set you down, his hands moving to cup both sides of your face, squishing your cheeks gently and shaking you. âWe actually did it, Y/n/n! Weâre debuting!âÂ
âI know Ji, I saw.â You laughed, returning his gesture. You quickly made your rounds, congratulating the rest of the boys and hugging Minho and Felix tightly, before returning to Jisungs side and joining them for their celebrations.
````
The boys got pretty busy pretty fast after that and the time spent with your best friend decreased rapidly, but he always texted you every chance he got and would call or skype you as he was settling down for the night. Oftentimes, his phone would get high-jacked and passed around through his members while his protests could be heard in the background. You werenât as close with the rest of them as you were with Jisung, but they had quickly become your boys and you couldnât be prouder of all of them and prouder to call them your friends.Â
Which just made it hurt all the worse when the nightly chaos calls slowly turned into weekly at best calls.Â
You understood, you wouldnât feel like a very good friend if you didnât, but you still missed all of them like crazy. You wished you could be by their side instead of watching from the sidelines.Â
A part of you knew you could be, that you didnât have to put yourself through this pain if you just owned up and confessed. But telling your best friend since diapers that youâre in love with him, even if youâre pretty damn sure itâs mutual, is too terrifying a concept to consider.Â
You knew being an idols partner would be stressful, but it would also give you a lot more time to spend with the boys. Still, you couldnât bring yourself to do it, the risk of you being wrong and him not feeling the same weighing too heavily. The best case scenario would be you were right, youâd never have to leave your best friend's side, youâd be at every show like heâd wanted, youâd be there for everything; but worst scenario, you lose your best friend and the boy you love in one swoop, as well as the rest of your closest friends.Â
Youâd rather deal with the spotty texts and irregular calls than creating an unfixable rift.
````
Despite the damn near radio silence youâd endured while they traveled their first year as an actual group, you still made sure to keep the promise youâd made and bought a ticket to a small local show theyâd be doing.Â
You texted Jisung a picture of the ticket, not really expecting a response and being pleasantly surprised when he texted back a very Jisung response.Â
SUNGIE: I knew you were secretly in love with me
Followed by a string of unrelated emojis. Your phone buzzed again with another text.
SUNGIE: the boys want to know if youâd be down to get food and catch up after the show, I already told them yes, you donât have a choice, I miss my best friend
You couldnât help the giddy feeling that arose in your chest at his messages, he was right for accepting on your behalf, you would never turn down the opportunity to spend time with your friends, but especially not Jisung.
You typed up a quick reply, agreeing and telling him youâd see them all at the concert.
The rest of the week couldnât go by fast enough. Texts with Jisung had become a little more regular again, both of you excited for some time together, and youâd even gotten a call in. You were counting down the minutes to the concert, antsy to see your friends again.
Your roommate helped you pick out an outfit for the concert because âthereâs no way youâll be representing in jeans and a t-shirt, weâre going to look sexy as fuck.â and you couldnât find it in you to argue.Â
When the night finally arrived and you were situated next to your roommate not far from the stage, you couldnât shake the anxiousness at seeing them again. They were your friends, and they always would be, but you wondered how much theyâd changed in the year youâd been separated; you wondered if theyâd still act like your friends.
Your fears were relieved fairly quickly as they finally took the stage. It only took about three songs for Felix to spot you, lighting up the moment he did and running around to inform the others. Throughout the show they each took moments to find you to wave subtly. It eased your mind knowing they seemed as happy to see you as you were them.
After the show, you and your roommate waited until most of the crowd died off before you said your goodbyes, your roommate heading for the exit as you headed towards the side of the stage, grinning and walking faster when you noticed Jisung peeking around the corner and waving when he spotted you.
You threw your arms around him the second you got to him, happy to finally have your best friend back.
It didnât take long for the rest of the boys to crash your reunion, quickly dragging you into a group hug.Â
âHey back off! This is my bestie, all of you can go find your own.â Jisung pouted, but you could see how his eyes softened as his eight new best friends embraced you and accepted you as a part of their little family.
````
âWoojin, who has been with Stray Kids as a member until this time, has left the group due to personal circumstances and terminated his exclusive contract.â
You couldnât stop the tears from welling up in your eyes as you read the headline. You had just had lunch with all of the boys a few weeks prior and everything seemed fine, they were excited for their blossoming career together. Not one of them, not even Jisung, had let on to anything.Â
You felt you had at least a bit of a reason to feel hurt, they were your closest friends and you had to learn one was splitting from the group through a gossip site. Before you could think, you were outside the boys dorm, hand raised to knock, when voices stopped you when you heard your name, making a mental note to tell the boys to shut their windows.
âI just donât understand why we didnât tell Y/n.â Jisung sounded defeated.
âItâs not that we didnât want to, Hannie, itâs just that the least outsiders that know the truth, the better.â âY/n isnât an outsider! Theyâre my best friend, they wouldnât say anything to anyone.â
âWe just, we canât guarantee that. I love them, theyâre a wonderful friend, but theyâre not a part of this world Han. They wouldnât understand and we canât risk it. The next few months are going to be hard enough on Stay, nine or none is dead and weâre tasked with moving along like itâs nothing, the last thing we need right now is anything getting misconstrued.â
Tears welled up in your eyes as you listened in. You could understand where Chan was coming from, but it still hurt hearing he couldnât bring himself to trust you.
You wiped your eyes and finally knocked, not wanting to just vanish. They were still your friends.
âHey, you guys seriously need to remember to shut your windows, I could hear Changbin from the driveway.â You laughed as you let yourself in, hugging Chan as you passed him before joining Jisung on the couch. It wasnât long before other members started filing into the living room, presumably to see you, but you suspected it was more due to the safety and assurance that Chan and Jisung were done with their conversation as long as you were present.
âI heard the news by the way, Iâm sorry this is happening. But hey! Maybe some good news can lighten the room.â You took a deep breath, nervous knowing your news would absolutely not help anything. âI got a huge promotion at work.â You grinned, fiddling with your hands, which Jisung and Chan both picked up on immediately.
You hadnât mentioned being up for promotion, mostly because you werenât even positive youâd get it, let alone accept it, but with a world tour on the horizon for the boys, and now the addition of being reminded you werenât anything more than a normal level friend, you figured why not, what would be keeping you in Seoul anyway?
Congratulations and excitement filled the room, you smiled, thanking everyone for being happy for you, but your smile faded when Jisungâs hands covered yours, stopping your nervous fidgeting. He refused to meet your eyes.
âWhatâs the bad news?â He asked softly, eyes glued to where his hands were holding yours.
The excitement in the room felt as if it was sucked out by a vacuum, you tried to smile, already shaking your head to say there wasnât any, but it died on your throat when Jisungâs eyes finally met yours, his brown eyes shining as he looked at you. âDonât lie to me, please.â He whispered.
You slouched in defeat. âIt was meant to be exciting news to cheer everyone up, Sungie. I mean, itâs not necessarily bad news, per se, it could be a really great thing even, you know?â
Jisung cut off your rambling by squeezing your hand. Giving you a look that said âget on with it.â
âThe promotion is to an American branch.â
````
Jisung had somehow convinced his management to give him enough time off to help you move, no matter how much you insisted he didnât need to.Â
You had been busy cleaning out your closet, packing what to keep and piling up things you didnât, figuring you could donate them, with your music blasting, none the wiser to the eight boys standing in your doorway.Â
âDo they always keep the music this loud?â
The shouted question startled you. You whipped around in shock before rushing to lower the volume to greet your friends.
âYes. Yes they do.â Jisung grinned teasingly as he pulled you into a hug. âI brought some extra hands, hope you donât mind.â He said before kissing the top of your head and releasing you, whistling as he looked at the walls, still covered in pictures of the both of you, and some with the rest of the guys.
Seungmin was pointing out ridiculous pictures of Jisung to Jeongin and Minho laughed as he noticed a baby picture of the younger member.Â
âHyung, maybe we should ask Y/n for young pictures of Han instead of him or his family.â
Jisung groaned at that and you couldnât help but laugh.
âI mean, thereâs a lot of pictures here, so if you see any youâd like to keep, go for it. Most of them will likely just stay in a memory box while Iâm overseas anyways.â
The look of utter betrayal Jisung shot you just made you laugh harder as you patted his shoulder and put all the boys to work.
````
âY/N! STRAY KIDS RELEASED A NEW ALBUM!â
It had been a year since you moved to America, and a year with your new roomies, whom you loved dearly. Throughout that year, the Kids had been garnering more and more popularity.Â
You learned Eve and Nat, twins that were complete opposites in almost every way, had watched the entire Elimination Show as it was airing and Nat actually cried in relief when it was announced theyâd debut as nine; Noel, a blunt and chaotic content creator, was a bit picky and admittedly didnât like all of their music, but she loved them as people and would flood the house group chat with reels and tiktoks, her bias is Chan; and it took a little while for Lia, a tiny italian, to get in to them, but Eve was adamant that all roomies had to be Stays and when the twins had K-pop blasting through the house pretty much non-stop, itâs hard not to get pulled in.
You still kept in contact with the boys to some extent, it wasnât as drop out of touch as the first year was, but you could tell the distance was growing again. When the day came that you no longer contacted one another, you wouldnât be surprised. You brought yourself to look at it as you were thankful for the extra time you were given, youâd assume most idols lose contact with people of their past life fairly quickly.
You had never told your roommates about your connection to the band, not because you didnât trust them and adore them but because it felt too risky. They could try to use you to get to the boys, or just flat out tell you to take your delulu meds. It hurt, thinking your closest friends might abandon you because of that kind of knowledge, it helped you understand Chan a little more with the Woojin situation.Â
Your door burst open, any semblance of privacy pretty well gone when it came to Eveâs excitement.
âDid you hear me?? A new album! They take such good care of us!â She fake cried dramatically as she sprawled out on your bed.Â
Eve was followed shortly by Lia, holding a cup of coffee with six tally marks drawn on it, indicating it was her sixth cup of the day; and Noel carrying a camera, likely having filmed the entire invasion.
âYes I heard, I think the whole neighborhood did.â You laughed, playing with the girls hair. âAre you going to play this new album or just continue to shout about it?â
Eve groaned. âWe have to wait until stupid Nat gets home, who even made the stupid rule about new album drops having to be group listening parties anyways?â She grumbled as you and your other roommates tried to hold back your laughter.
âYou did, babe.â Lia giggled, sipping her coffee and joining the two of you on your bed.
Life with them often meant no privacy, the amount of times all five of you have ended up sleeping in one bed for the night was crazy, seeing as you all have your own rooms. There were a lot of blurred lines within your house, but you loved it and wouldnât change it for almost anything.
âSo who is this in all your pictures anyways? I donât think Iâve ever asked before.â Noel mumbled as she walked around your room, camera in hand.
âIâll tell you if you donât use that footage youâre getting.â You joked.
âDeal!â Lia agreed on her behalf, setting her mug down and wrestling the camera from Noel to shut off the recording.
âTell us. Weâve all been dying to know. You never talk about your past.â
You hesitated for only a moment before relaxing into your pillows.
âHis name is Jisung, in all the photos. Heâs my best friend, we grew up together but we donât talk all that much anymore. His career distanced him, and mine obviously didnât help that. Itâs simple as that. We talk maybe once every few months now.â
âAre you in love with your Jisung?â Eve asked, blue eyes staring up at you with a childlike twinkle.
âYeah, I am.âÂ
The girls giggled and you hid your face in your pillow to avoid the teasing until Nat walked in, asking what was going on, and immediately getting updated. He joined in on the teasing, which thankfully only lasted until Eve remembered Stray Kidsâ new album NOEASY.
````
âI swear, you being besties with a boy named Jisung gives you insane luck or something, how are you always pulling Han? Honestly at this point I think you have just as many Han Jisung photo cards on your walls as you do pictures of your Jisung. Youâre so lucky your bias is so easy for you to get. Five target exclusive albums and not ONE Felix photocard. Like, donât get me wrong, I am perfectly content with my Changbin, Innie, and Seungmin cards, but how did not a single one of us pull a Lixie?!â Eve banged her head against the wall as she rambled.
Nat rolled his eyes at her and immediately got smacked by the girl tucked under his arm.
âOw! What the hell Lia, I didnât say anything.â
âDonât be rolling your eyes at my baby girl.â Lia said threateningly.
âFor the last time, youâre dating me, not my sister, please stop calling her your baby girl.â
âOh please, brother. I could steal your girl anytime I want and we all know it.â Eve giggled, finally snapping out of her rambling state to tease her brother. Lia blew her a kiss, sending her a wink.
âWe can steal girlfriends another time, right now weâre going to be late for dinner, and we all know how James can get about his dinners.â Noel rolled her eyes at the trio as she put her camera away, having filmed everyone opening their albums. She has so much content of Lia and Eve flirting with each other that a good amount of her viewers have started theorizing that Nat is Liaâs beard.
James is the twins' father. After the twins had moved out he had insisted they come home once a week for a family dinner, the invite was quickly extended to the rest of the household as James seemed to systematically adopt everyone. You had never complained because it was a day off from feeding the household and because James was actually an amazing cook.Â
```
âWeâre going. I donât care if I have to throw you all into my car forcefully, we are going to this concert.â Lia stated as the roommates were gathered in the living room looking at the tour dates announcement. âI donât care if I have to drive the whole nine hours by myself, I am not missing this concert.â
Stray Kids were playing only a few states away and everyone but you had missed them the last time theyâd been so close due to having already had tickets to something that same weekend. The only reason you hadnât missed it was because youâd been in the city of the concert for business and delayed your flight a day to see them. Youâd felt bad for seeing them without your roommates and best friends of three years, but you would have felt more bad breaking a promise to your best friend of much, much longer.
âAnd you!â Lia turned her eyes on you, pinning you with a scolding motherly glare. âNo running off and seeing them by yourself again! Weâre all going to see our boys and that is final.â
You werenât about to argue with her, and no one else seemed to want to either, so everyone set reminders for the day tickets would go on sale and started plotting outfits for the concert.
```
The energy in the crowd was indescribable, the excitement all around you made the hairs on your arms stand up. You could feel nerves bubbling up in your stomach, yes youâd seen the boys plenty of times since you all lost touch, but youâd always actively avoided any seat that could potentially be seen from stage, but the tickets went on sale whilst you were in a crucial meeting and Lia, being the groups sugar momma, bought only the best she could get her hands on, landed you about three rows from front and center.
An excited hush fell over the crowd as the lights dimmed, everyone pressing forward just a little to try and get that much closer to the people coming up on the stage, but you just wanted to turn tail and run.
Nat grabbed your hand, squeezing it as if he could sense your nerves. It wouldnât surprise you, of all your roommates, Nathaniel had always been the one to pick up on peoples emotions the easiest and he had always had a keen sense of awareness to things he shouldnât be aware of.
The lights burst with the opening chords of the first song of the evening and an odd mixture of pride and nausea hits you as screams drown everything out and the boys finally come into proper view.
âDeep breaths honey. Youâre okay.â Natâs comforting voice whispers into your ear, his hands squeezing a little tighter, grounding you. âJust have fun, donât worry about him.âÂ
Whipping your head to look at him, you see a knowing glint in his eyes and as he nods his head back towards the stage, you realized heâd pieced it together.
How does he know? Do they all know?
He smiles once more, squeezing again, before looking away and releasing you entirely, joining the throngs of people screaming and enjoying the show. You look back towards the stage, noting how much each of your old friends have changed over the years.Â
You let your nerves slowly slip away as you let yourself enjoy the promise youâve always upheld and support your friend by screaming along and dancing with the rest of the crowd.
```
Your anxieties of earlier had been completely forgotten by the time the halfway point hit. As the lights come up to allow people a small intermission to use the bathroom or get some water, you turned to your roommates, joining in the excited rambles of all theyâve witnessed so far, adding in your notes as well, stealing glances at the timer in the middle of the stadium periodically. But as you make eye contact with a pair of curious brown eyes peeking from backstage, you feel your stomach drop. Even from the distance youâre at, you can see the recognition flash in those big eyes as they widen before disappearing entirely behind the curtain.Â
Just as youâre about to turn and make a hasty exit, those curious eyes return with another pair.Â
Felix and Jeongin seem to freeze you in place. You watch as Jeonginâs eyes light up with familiarity, his hand quickly coming up to shoot you a small wave, you wave back, not even thinking, and his smile widens, eyes squinting, as he seems to bounce in place to contain his happiness. It melts your heart to see, realizing you truly have missed all of them, not just Jisung.
They both wave again before disappearing just as fast as theyâd appeared. âOkay, what was that all about?â Lia whispers, her small hand gently holding your elbow to get your attention.
âIâm not entirely sure.â And itâs not a complete lie.
âYour Jisung is Han Jisung, isnât it.â Itâs not a question, not really, and you have no energy to try and hide it anymore. âAre you friends with all of them?â
âWas. Iâm not sure I can claim being a friend to any of them anymore.â
âWell I would say you can because Lee fucking Felix and gâdamn I.N. just waved at you.âÂ
âYou donât know it was at me.â
âYes I do, and you do too. Donât bullshit right now.
âIt doesnât even matter because theyâll finish this show, do the one tomorrow, and theyâll be gone and nothing will be different.â
Lia gave you a look that screamed she thought you were insane but before you could tell her that itâs just how it is, the lights dimmed again. The stadium hushed quickly, all noticing the timer wasnât quite finished yet, then it stopped all together and a spotlight came on over a nervous looking Han Jisung, front and center, the other kids not too far behind him.Â
He wasnât facing you, but his eyes were scanning and he was turning slowly, while trying to look normal.
âThis wasnât exactly scheduled, and Iâm sorry about that, but I just talked it over with the others and with the band and weâre going to perform There for all of you tonight. This song is, well itâs really important to me.â
With that, the opening chords start playing and Han's beautiful voice fills the hushed room.
Oh, I think of you, I only fall for you
Feels like a never-ending waterfall
Tears spring to your eyes. Ever since theyâd released this song, youâd felt as if it was written for you. Your logical mind screamed it likely wasnât, that it wouldnât make sense for it to be. Youâd had no contact with them for over three years, so why now? But even with those thoughts, you couldnât help but remember nights spent with your best friend in the whole world, evenings passed by whilst stargazing despite the horrendous amount of light pollution and lack of visibility. Everything about the song when it was released made you think of the time before all of this, when youâd always had Han Jisung by your side.Â
You make eye contact with Bang Chan as he follows Hanâs vocals to fill his own part, he smiles, his dimples on full blast, and you know itâs his way of acknowledging you.
As the song passes, slowly the rest of the members seem to locate you, waving subtly, putting hearts up, ways to say hi without alerting the thousands of fans around you. Everyone sees you, except for Jisung, who either canât locate you or is actively avoiding your eyes. Your heart drops at the thought.Â
Did you really have it wrong? You had assumed it was a long shot that There was written for you, but hearing them perform it live and seeing them all track you down brought hope that maybe it wasnât just wishful thinking, all except the one you want to look at you the most.
Your heart sank further and further as the song came to a close, Han never having looked your way.
I know that it'll never stop
Oh, I'm still right there.
You watch Chan grab Jisung and pull him off stage as the countdown starts back up, and youâre pretty sure everyone can see the slump in his shoulders as his leader drags him away.
âGet out of your head honey. Just try to enjoy the show.â Nat rubs your back in comforting circles until Eve whips around, her grin too bright to ignore.
âThis is the best night ever!â And of course your sunshine friend is oblivious to your inner turmoil. All you can do is smile back and agree.
You take deep breaths, you let your friends and the adoring fans around you ground you, and you decide to just enjoy this band that youâve been a fan of for years instead of stressing about the friendship youâd already assumed was dead.
```
You could feel yourself letting loose, dancing to the music, singing at the top of your lungs, just enjoying being in the crowd. It was easy to be happy in a room with all your favorite people.Â
Throughout the night all the boys would check up on you, your area of the crowd easily became a favorite to interact with, but Han still hadnât looked at you. Trying not to let it affect you, you made a heart with Lee Know and then broke it, watching in delight as his brows raise in shock and he starts laughing. His laughter draws the others' attention and they all seem to light up at the sight of happy Lee Know.Â
Han makeâs his way over to Minho, throwing an arm over his shoulder and preparing to do his rap when Minho whispers something to him and nods in your direction. Everything seems to fade away as Jisungs eyes finally meet yours, you can vaguely hear the instrumental for his part of the song but heâs not rapping, he just seems frozen as he stares at you.
Raising your hand, you give him a small wave, his hand following the motion and copying which makes you smile. Minho must pinch him because his body jolts and he shoots his friend an incredulous look, and then as if remembering where he is and what heâs supposed to be doing, he blushes and follows Lee Know to the rest of the members to get into choreo formation for the next song, but not without shooting you one more smile.
Sound comes rushing back in, and suddenly the air feels lighter, you hear Lia squealing as she bounces up and down next to you, holding your arm, and you can feel Natâs arm around you.Â
Hanâs eyes canât seem to stay off of you after that, you catch him looking at you more often than not. You feel giddy, laughter bubbling in you as he stumbles some choreography while trying to keep his eyes on you.Â
The rest of the concert flies by way too fast, you donât want the night to end, you donât want to go back to your hotel and let this moment go past you. You donât want Han Jisung to stop looking at you again.Â
All the longing for your best friend, all the time you spent pretending you were alright with the way things turned out because he was living his dream and he was happy, all those years loving someone unattainable, drowns you as the boys leave the stage for the last time that night. The weight of realization weighs on you as the lights come up and the stadium starts clearing out, and just when you were ready to grab your friends and elbow your way to out of the stadium, putting the whole night behind you and accepting the end of a friendship officially, a guard tracked you down, asking for you by your Korean name, and asking you to follow him.
Confusion, and a bit of hope, floods you as you look to your friends, who just shrug, just as confused by the request but following you and the guard, after Noel and Lia argue that security or not their friend isnât going anywhere without the rest of them because that wouldnât be safe. Youâre all brought backstage and left in a room with several couches and a table full of snacks.Â
âSo, what the heck is going on?â Eve finally asks, breaking the confused silence.
âY/nâs boyfriend got us V.I.P access, apparently.â Nat responds.
âBOYFRIEND?!â
You smack Natâs arm, causing him to laugh. âNo babe, I donât have a boyfriend, Iâm just as confused as you are.â
Before much else could be said, a loud squeal is heard just before you're lifted off the ground and spun around.Â
âY/n/n!!!â Felix shouts, setting you down and pulling you back in for a soul crushing hug. âIâve missed you so much, we have so much catching up to do!â He looks around, likely looking for the rest of his members but noticing your friends. âOh. Hello there!â He smiles. âIâm Lee Felix, nice to meet you all!â
âLet them breathe Lix,â Seungmin rolls his eyes, pulling you from Felixâs grasp just to drag you into a hug of his own. âBut heâs right, there is a lot of catching up to do.â He mumbles before releasing you and passing you off to the next person.
You catch a glimpse of your roommates, all of whom look absolutely dumbfounded. Even Nat and Lia, who seemed to have known about Jisung, seemed absolutely bewildered by these events.
Youâre passed from member to member and something about it is so nostalgic. Being hugged by these sweaty, energy high, happy boys made you feel completely at peace.Â
By the time youâre finally completely released, you notice your boys introducing themselves to your slightly starstruck friends. You also notice everyone is in the room but Han and Chan.
Minho, the ever attentive one, saddles himself next to you, watching your friends mingle.Â
âSungie is, well, heâs having a panic attack, I wonât lie to you, and Chanâs helping him. Donât worry, heâs not avoiding you.â You flash him a grateful smile.
You watch as Eve and Felix get on like an absolute house fire, both practically bouncing in excitement as they chat about goodness knows what. Nat, Lia, Changbin, and Hyunjin watch in amusement, providing commentary now and again, while you catch up with Minho, Innie, and Seungmin.
Itâs not too long before Chan finally enters the room, taking no time at all to scoop you into his arms. âGod weâve missed you, Y/n/n.â He whispers, his face pressed into your neck.
âIâve missed all of you too. So much. And I am so, so proud of you all.â
Chan pulls back, giving you a tired smile before turning you to the door. âHeâs too nervous to come in here, so you might want to go to him.â His smile is genuine, and he squeezes your shoulder once before releasing you entirely and gently pushing you toward the door.
Outside of the room, Jisung is pacing and mumbling to himself, he doesnât even seem to notice another presence with him.
âItâs fine, itâs fine, itâs just your best friend. Your best friend in the whole world that youâve been out of touch with for years. Youâll be okay. Itâs not like they wouldnât want to see you.â Han freezes, eyes still locked on the ground. âOh my god, what if they donât want to see me.â
âHan Jisung, would you stop rambling under your breath and hug me already?â
His head whips around, eyes wide, and for a minute all he does is stare at you in shock, and then he rushes towards you, pulling you into a hug so tight itâs as if heâs afraid youâll disappear if he lets go.
âI missed you so much.â He whispers, his voice watery.
You hug him back with just as much strength, clinging to him and willing your tears back.
âCareful, it almost sounds like youâre in love with me or something.â You try to joke, your voice just as unsteady as his.
That seems to trigger something in him because he pulls back and stares at you for a really long moment. Just taking in your features. âAnd what if I am?â He whispers. Your breath catches in your throat, his eyes are watery but genuine.
Before you can say anything, he starts fumbling for his pocket before pulling out a small black box. He takes a deep breath before sinking down onto one knee, your eyes widening in shock.
âBecause I am, ya know? I always have been. Youâve always been my ending, Y/n/n. And I had promised you once that youâd be stuck with me for the rest of your miserable life, and that Iâd put a ring on it if it meant never losing you. Well, then I did lose you, and now that youâre here, I donât intend on ever letting you slip away again. So, marry me, and let me spend the rest of my life by your side, because I joke about your miserable life a lot, but I know for a fact how miserable life is without you and I donât want it.â
You can feel the tears running down your face as you drop to your knees in front of him, nodding as you grab his face and pull him in for a kiss.
His lips are salty, likely from your shared tears, and theyâre a little chapped, but they meet yours just as eagerly and you know itâs real, and that this is how it always should have been.
You both pull apart for air, he leans his forehead against yours as he grabs your hand to slide the ring into place and you hear whooping and hollering not to far, both of you looking up to see not only the kids, but your roommates all having likely witnessed the whole thing.
Jisung blushes and you grin, tears still flowing as you wrap your arm around your best friend in the whole wide world and show your ring off to Eve and Lia who rushed in to see it immediately.
âI love you.â Jisung whispers as he helps you stand.
âI love you too.â You whisper back, leaning further into him and never wanting to leave his side ever again.
âSweetie, you have got some major explaining to do.â Eve cuts in, joining the hug and giving you a pointed but teasing glare.
(Here is the next chapter)
The race season was in full swing, and youâd been doing well. Max had, as per usual, always taken the victory, but most of the time you were on the podium next to him. You were a great new asset to Red bull, and many of the fans seemed to like you. You started discovering more and more memes about you on Instagram and Twitter that would make you chuckle. (Or X? Man idk)
People saw you as a two-sided coin, since your charismatic, silly moments were accompanied by boiling, blood red rage when something messes up the race. Numerous fans compared you to Max when he first entered F1, calling you a âSmaller version of Mad Max.â
You guysâ interactions felt like witnessing two proud stags smash their antlers against each other. No full-on fights have ensued yet, but the tense feeling between you two can be felt by everyone from miles away. It was like the calm before a storm, electric energy surging through the air, waiting to strike when things get any more heated.
Your sassy, provocative nature could bring his blood to a boil easily, often causing him to glare at you from far away or leave some snarky remarks while passing by. This dynamic wasnât optimal for Redbull, having two drivers who clash off the grid might also clash on the grid. As long as the situation wouldnât get worse, theyâd let you two entertain the fans bit more, but Christian kept a close eye on both you and Max.
Usually your bickering was harmless,
But today you couldâve strangled him right then and there in the paddock after the race. Luckily Horner got a hold of you and dragged you away, you felt like an angry dog being put on a chain outside the house by its owner.
What happened a few minutes before angered you deeply. Max profoundly refused to let you pass him, even if you had to brake to not crash into the rear end of his car. You couldâve had the first place if it werenât for him blocking your way. Saying you were enraged was a pathetic understatement. You were steaming with rage and wanted to smash his head against a wall.
You, Lando and Oscar were strolling towards an Ice cream truck that Oscar had found on google maps. The race weekend was over but many of the drivers decided to stay a bit longer in the beautiful city. Tough it was extremely hot, which was the reason why Oscar and Lando wanted to go for Ice cream, what they didnât tell you tough is that they wanted to distract you from your conflict with Max.
After paying for your Ice cream, you three made your way to a bench, sitting down and enjoying your refreshments. You chose pistachio ice cream, savoring the sweet, nutty taste. âHave yâall heard about the party tonight?â Lando glanced at the buildings nearby, enjoying the fancy exterior, thinking about snapping a pic for his .jpg account. âI mean, we all know that there will be one, but I didnât catch any specifics.â Lando now looked at you and Oscar. âDanny told me about it, itâs in the grand Casino at eleven Oâ Clock. I really want to go, but I wanted to drag you both with me. Are yâall coming?â He mustered up his best puppy eyes and began pouting. A hearty laugh escaped you, almost causing you to drop your ice cream. âSure dude! I canât wait to have some fun.â Oscar grinned, agreeing with what you said. You guys spent some more time shopping and checking out some must-see sights of the city. Lando bought Oscar a little Koala plushie with sunglasses calling it "Oscahs Doppelgänger.â You really liked hanging out with the two McLaren boys, spending time with them meant lots of joking and messing around.
âHurry the fuck up Y/N, its almost eleven!â Landos voice rang over his obnoxious banging on the door. You rolled your eyes and checked your outfit one more time in the mirror before heading out. You were greeted with a friendly smile from Oscar and Lando who looks like heâll bounce around the walls like a gummy ball. He couldâve well exploded on the spot with excitement. He and Piastri were both a tiny bit older than you, but Lando was still a kid at heart.
Lando, Oscar and you walked through the city, heading straight for the big, fancy Casino. Even from far away you spotted a familiar, smiley face. âOi! Danny!â You waved at him, gaining his attention. He was smiling broadly as usual, walking up to your little group. âHey guys! Looks like Lando managed to drag you along, eh?â He was obviously wearing one of his flash banging party shirts, it wouldnât be Daniel Ricciardo if he wasnât wearing something obnoxious, right?
The four of you chitchatted for a while, when Oscar asked: âWere you waiting for someone?â Daniel looked down at his wristwatch; it was already five past eleven. âI was actually. Me and Max wanted to meet up at eleven. Donât know where he is, maybe he already went inside.â He shrugged, glancing you way as he noticed you tensing up at the sound of the Dutchmanâs name. You definitely havenât forgotten the race earlier that day. The guys stayed quiet for a few moments as the chilly night air blew around your legs, contrasting with the warm weather during the day. Lando was the first to break the silence. âCan we finally go in?â
Once you entered the gigantic building, colorful lights and the smell of overly expensive alcohol flooded your senses. A few familiar faces were dancing, drinking, and laughing, but there were also many you didnât know. Daniel led the group towards the bar, buying you all a round of shots. âGotta start the night the right way!â, he laughed before downing the burning liquid. The vodka fueled the sparks in your guts and turned them into a fire. You were going to have fun tonight.
Suddenly a loud voice appeared behind you. âHey Danny!â You froze for a second before turning around and facing the man youâve been wanting to murder since this morning. âOi, Max! Thought Iâd never see you!â Daniel abandoned the bar stool to pat Max on the back. Oscar, who was sitting next to you, turned in your direction and whispered. âWe donât have to hang around with him. Letâs just leave- â, you interrupted him, âNo. Its ok.â You were too busy glaring at Max to notice Oscars worried expression, not that he thought youâd attack Verstappen out of nowhere, but he was concerned that a teasing comment from Max was enough for you to snap. As he later would find out, it was.
Max didnât pay any attention to you, obviously not feeling as irritated as you were. The casino was warm from the sheer number of people inside, the loud music mixed with laughing and chatting. Daniel was going on about some experience he had the day before while exploring the city. You were halfheartedly listening to your friends rambling while you were observing your friendsâ mimics. Your eyes landed on your fellow Redbull driver. He was listening carefully, asking a question every now and then. He then glanced at you quickly, catching you looking at him. Max then quickly looked away again.
After a while, Lando pulled you away from the bar and towards the dance floor. He was definitely drunk by now and was all giggly and happy. âCâmonnnn, dance with me!â, Lando slurred.
It mustâve already been a few hours since you arrived at the Casino, but time flew by so fast. Oscar stated that he was getting tired and wanted to go home in the next hour or so, while Lando was as lively as ever and could go the whole night. You agreed with Oscar though, since you were tired and had an appointed Press conference for tomorrow. Daniel and Max wanted to stay a little longer but agreed to accompany you outside to say goodbye. Once outside, a cold shiver ran down your spine. The city was illuminated by bright lights and a howling wind was brushing through its streets. Daniel stopped, facing the rest of the group.
âWe definitely gotta go out together more often!â Lando nodded enthusiastically, glancing your way as if inviting you to go out with him more often.
âYeah, once Y/N doesnât hold a grudge against me, I saw those glares.â Max laughed, but you couldnât help but judgingly glance at him. His face was red and his posture a bit wobbly.
âYouâre the one complaining about me during Interviews.â The venom in your voice was very apparent, you made no effort to hide your disdain. Max looked hesitant for a second before his expression hardened. Daniel seemed to feel awkward, not exactly knowing how to deal with you two firecrackers. Max focused his eyes on your face, not wincing under your glare. âAnd you were the one crying around about me winning this morning?â, he laughed again, seeking eye contact with the others as if to justify his words. The McLarens Aussie next to you looked deeply worried, as If he already suspected what happened next.
The blood in your veins began boiling, you could literally feel it. A heavy push from your side caused Max to stumble back. âDonât fucking go there you dick. You just couldnât handle me winning, right?â Your fellow Redbull driver was now shaken awake, glaring at you with a bitter look on his face. âDonât get mad at me because you lost, fucking Dickhead.â
You were SO ready to ruin his stupid face with a good punch.
âŚbut before you could actually get violent a certain Honey badger stepped in. âLads, calm your tits! I think itâs best if we all go to our hotel rooms now.â Oscar was holding you back, worrying what would happen if heâd let go of the raging man in his arms. The other McLaren boy was standing next to you guys, unsure what to do. Daniel gave Max a heavy pat on the shoulder and gave him a serious look. âLetâs go get some sleep, buddy.â Maxâs eyes never left yours, like a hunter stalking its prey.
But you wonât budge under him.
