Moon 20

Flurrytail thinks about taking on a new apprentice.

Wheatkit asks Flurrytail about what being a healer is like.

Ravensun is chattering at some birds.

Jay, Cornflowerpaw, and Lilypaw catch a rat!

Even though Flurrytail had an omen that Cornflowerpaw is to be the leader, Ravensun knows that Hazelmouse can't wait that long, as Cornflowerpaw might not be a warrior by the time he reaches twelve moons. After a discussion with Flurrytail, it is decided that Hazelmouse will be the de-facto leader. Ravensun and Flurrytail accompany Hazelmouse to the Lake of Stars.

... StarClan allows Hazelmouse to receive nine lives, until Cornflowerpaw becomes a warrior.

Hazelmouse is now Hazelstar, for now.

Moon 21 (Leaf-bare)

Hazelstar's wound is no longer infected, her leg is also no longer mangled.

Cornflowerpaw, Lilypaw, and Jay chase a rogue off the territory.

Wheatkit seems to be interested in becoming a healer.

Cornflowerpaw saw a pair of Twolegs near camp today!

Moon 22

Lilypaw and Cornflowerpaw are now warriors! Lilypaw is now Lilybumble, and Cornflowerpaw is now Cornflowerlaurel!

Wheatkit is now Wheatpaw! Flurrytail is his mentor!

Hazelstar is now Hazelmouse again, while Cornflowerlaurel is now Cornflowerstar. Ravensun is chosen as the deputy.

Ravensun and Hazelmouse hunt some chickens...

Except they also bring back a chick, that's still alive.

Jay decides to adopt it and names her Floofkit.

(Note: The chick thing didn't actually happen, I just thought it would be interesting for a chicken to live with a bunch of cats-)

Jay, Graywhisker, and Lilybumble chase a small dog off the territory.

Moon 23

Hazelmouse is expecting kits! She decides to move into the nursery.

Graywhisker is really surprised that Flurrytail's life isn't as easy as she thought it was.

Flurrytail, Ravensun, and Graywhisker can't stop thinking about Hazelmouse.

Moon 24 (Newleaf)

Hazelmouse is unsure of how many kit's she'll have.

Jay was spotted touching noses with a cat from IrisClan.

Flurrytail is telling Cornflowerstar, Lilybumble, and Wheatpaw about Sea-HollyClan, the clan that she, Ravensun, Graywhisker, and Hazelmouse used to live... She doesn't seem keen on taking about how it fell though...

Moon 25

Hazelmouse, Flurrytail, Ravensun, and Graywhisker welcome a litter of three kits, a tom (Ghostkit) and two she-kits (Passionkit and Seakit).

Cornflowerstar brings a new healer named Beaver (92m Male) back to camp.

Wheatpaw has gotten a headache.

Moon 26

Seakit has gotten a stomachache.

Ravensun gives Beaver Maple leaves as an official "Welcome to the clan" gift, Beaver decides to wear them.

Cornflowerstar finds an abandoned burrow. He rushes into the tunnels with a gleeful meow! A new place to explore and discover! Unfortunately his joy is cut short when the tunnel abruptly ends. It seems this tunnel leads to nothing but a dead end only a few fox-lengths from the entrance. (Poor Cornflowerstar 😭)

Beaver and Wheatpaw make a game out of who can gather the most herbs. They have a great time.

Moon 27 (Greenleaf)

Fin has gotten fleas.

Seakit no longer has a stomachache.

Cornflowerstar brings a wounded cat named Cedarivy (94m Male) back to camp.

Surprise! Lilybumble apparently had a kittypet mate (Merry, 24m Female)! Lilybumble brings her to the camp.

Moon 28

Cedarivy brought a litter of two kits, a tom and a she-kit, back to camp, but refused to talk about their origin (Lightkit and Lilykit).

Lilybumble was caught enjoying a moonlit stroll with Merry...

Jay gets lost in the territory, somehow.

Moon 29

Passionkit picks some flowers and brings them back to the healer den.

Cornflowerstar was seen touching noses with a kittypet! Scandalous!

Jay brings an injured cat named Missile Launcher (25m Female) back to camp. (This is the Missile Guidance System speaking. I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the missile knows where it needs to go-)

Moon 30 (Leaf-fall)

Wheatpaw is now a full healer named Wheatmoor!

Wheatmoor is prancing around in front of Cornflowerstar.

Graywhisker is telling a story to all the kits.

Seakit wonders what Lightkit thinks of mates.

Jay was killed after investigating a wolverine den...

Lilybumble is trapped under some dirt. Merry comes running at her yowls, and quickly frees Lilybumble, shaken but unharmed. Lilybumble never noticed how strong Merry is before.

Cornflowerstar has a mangled tail after fighting a rogue.

Moon 31

Ghostkit, Passionkit, and Seakit are now apprentices! Ghostpaw gets Graywhisker as his mentor, Passionpaw gets Lilybumble as her mentor, and Seapaw gets Ravensun as her mentor.

Passionpaw has gotten a running nose.

Ravensun wants to explore the whole territory with Graywhisker, Flurrytail, and Hazelmouse!

MOON 44

Berryspot has an infected tail. Cedarheart is made a warrior.

This moon’s story under the cut!

“As if it wasn’t enough that I have WHITECOUGH!” Berryspot wailed dramatically. “Now I must battle through the AGONY of an infected tail?!”

Hushstep sighed, having heard Berryspot’s lamenting rants at least 20 times that day alone. “I’m telling you, you’re fine. Now stop complaining before I rake your pelt clean off.”

Berryspot’s tail had recently been attacked by a fox as he was out collecting herbs, and now it had become infected. He was, evidently, distraught.

“Do you want me to suffer, Hushstep?” Berryspot demanded. “My poor tail…”

Hushstep let out a prolonged sigh as Whisperingpaw trotted into the den, eyes bright. “Hello, Hushstep! Hello, Berryspot!” She called cheerfully.

“Oh no, don’t tell me you’ve got whitecough too.” Hushstep sighed. “It’s spreading like wildfire.”

“Nope! I feel fine. I was just wondering if you needed any help in here, now that Berryspot’s out of action.” Whisperingpaw mewed airily.

“That would be great, thank you!” Hushstep grinned. “Do you think you could count how many poppy seeds we have left, and then count the feverfew?”

Whisperingpaw nodded. “On it!” She padded across the medicine den, searching for the herb supplies, and once she had found the neat piles she settled herself in to count.

Hushstep gave an approving nod and turned to Berryspot. “I’m just going to check on Rivernose. Back soon.”

Berryspot grunted and adjusted himself in the nest. He didn’t like having a warrior apprentice doing jobs he could easily be doing, even if he was poorly. His self-pity had seemed to evaporate as soon as Whisperingpaw showed up.

“How are you feeling, Berryspot?” The young she-cat asked cheerfully as she nosed the herbs.

“Fine.” Berryspot answered shortly, turning away. Whisperingpaw looked a little hurt and gave him a nudge.

“Sorry for barging in. I know you probably want your rest.” She apologised lightly.

Berryspot shrugged, his gaze softening a little. “It’s not your fault I’m grumpy.” He smiled, making an attempt at a joke to defuse the tension.

Whispering gave a polite little laugh as she counted. “It always smells so nice in the medicine den. It helps me relax.” She remarked airily.

“Tired after training?” Berryspot guessed, tilting his head to one side.

“I’m practically asleep on my paws!” Whisperingpaw replied, stifling a yawn. “Mossgleam had me pouncing at prey all morning, and I STILL didn’t catch anything.” The apprentice seemed slightly disheartened, bending low over the herbs.

“Maybe it was just an off day.” Berryspot offered sympathetically. “It’s foggy out in the forest today, isn’t it?”

Whisperingpaw huffed. “A little bit, but not enough for it to be an excuse. Brookpaw caught a big, juicy vole, and Badgerdust was thrilled.” She sighed.

“Brookpaw has always been a good hunter. Maybe your skills lie somewhere else, like in fighting or tracking.” Berryspot comforted the apprentice.

“That’s what Mossgleam said.” Whisperingpaw said, finishing with the poppy seeds. “19.” She whispered. “I tried to focus on fighting, but Wheatpaw battered me.”

“Don’t be too hard on yourself. Wheatpaw’s older, and more experienced.”

“But every cat knows he can barely fight to save himself! What does that say about me?” Whisperingpaw protested. “Sometimes I…nevermind.”

“What is it?” Berryspot urged her, concerned.

“It’s just…” Whisperingpaw lamented. “Sometimes I think I’m not good enough to be a warrior.”

Berryspot tutted. “Every cat thinks that at some point in their life. I’m sure you’re not THAT terrible, Whisperingpaw.”

“You should see me! Honestly, a newborn kit could catch a squirrel faster than me.” Whisperingpaw mewed, staring at her paws. “10.” She mumbled as she finished with the feverfew.

“You shouldn’t give up hope. Perhaps you’ll get better as you progress. Every apprentice learns at a different pace.” Berryspot told her.

“Well, Brookpaw and Prairiepaw learn way faster than I do. Now that Cedarheart is a warrior and Wheatpaw is almost one, it’s just me and my two prodigy sisters!” Whisperingpaw practically wailed.

“I wouldn’t go so far as to say they’re prodigies. You just see it that way.” Berryspot mewed. “You’ll be a good warrior, Whisperingpaw. Look at who your parents are!”

“Don’t even get me started on them.” Whisperingpaw muttered darkly, turning away. “Must be great for you in here. You’re not expected to catch every rabbit in the forest in a single morning.”

Berryspot chuckled. “No, but my job can be pretty tough too. I have to make sure that no cat suffers, and that’s quite a burden.”

Whisperingpaw shrugged. “I guess. But medicine is straightforward, and there’s always a way. With hunting and fighting, there’s a million different techniques to learn, and all these variations of one simple thing. It makes my head hurt.”

“That’s why I chose to become a medicine cat.” Berryspot mused. “I didn’t want that life.”

Whisperingpaw let out a long, thoughtful breath. “Maybe I don’t either.” She said finally, and quickly got to her paws and padded out of the den. Berryspot watched her leave, a little surprised by her words.

Did Whisperingpaw regret her choice to follow the path of a warrior?

After being rejected by Starlingholly, Shiveringivy's barely been visible round camp. They're good at hiding when they want to.

Quivershine wasn't looking where they were going and tripped over a small trunk, but came out of it with only their pride bruised

Wisteriaflare travels to SplinterClan to resolve some hunting disputes but no progress was made
