THE CLOVERS

Finally making a post to lore dump about my silly little fed ocs lets gooo

The nickname for this unoffical squad of three in the Federal Army of Chorus, “the Clovers” comes from a joke about the three of them being not-quite-lucky, due to a combination of both really good and really bad luck (think along the lines of…. You trip and fell down a flight of stairs, but because you tripped, you weren’t in the blastzone of a grenade- that kind of bullshit). Their unusual luck lead to a joke about how three leaf clovers aren’t generally considered lucky, and since its hard to call their particular brand of luck “good”, it stuck.

Despite their peculiar luck, the Clovers must be somewhat decent soldiers, as they’ve worked with Locus on several occasions. Or he’s just good enough to not be hindered by their luck. It’s hard to say.

Necoda “Neko” Micce : he/they - standard infantry/scout - the ‘Black Cat’ of the Clovers - Neko has a bit of a reputation for being a troublemaker and a bit of an enigma. He rarely gives a straight answer to personal questions, and often blatantly lies if asked directly about his past. They tell the truth regarding missions, at least, but the inability to take themselves seriously for longer than 10 seconds makes Neko quite the pain in the ass to most of the FAC’s officers. Fast, clever and unusually flexible, Neko’s got a slight problem with sticky fingers and a mischievous streak that makes them few friends within the army— but to the few friends they do have, Neko is intensely loyal.

Anton Pavoz : he/him - standard infantry/heavy weapon specialist (eventually) - the ‘Ladybug’ of the Clovers - Anton comes from a military family on both his mother and his father’s side, so joining the Federal Army of Chorus was an easy decision for him to make as soon as he was able to— even if his mother was one of the military rank officials who fled Chorus when the civil war started to take a turn for the worse. Anton’s stubborn nature and the sheer fact that he has never known another home other than Chorus led to him staying behind to fight. A romantic at heart, Anton wants to assume the best intentions and the best of people when he can, although the current state of Chorus makes it… difficult.

Ivia Soares : she/her - medic - the ‘Rabbit’ of the Clovers - Raised by her single survivalist father, Ivia grew up on camping trips out into the wilds of Chorus, learning how to take care of herself in the ‘inevitable fall of society’. While she never quite bought the mentality behind it, the camping trips instilled a love for the untamed parts of Chorus that lead to Ivia’s fascination and desire to learn more about the wildlife of her home. She had started university to hone that love into skill with degrees in veterinary sciences, xenobiology and zoology when her father’s death as a civilian causality in one of the New Republic’s “protests” turned her sights towards the Federal Army of Chorus instead. She still maintains her fluency in Portuguese, her father’s native language, as a way of keeping him close.

Yeah sure. While scavenging pics for this I found this neat reddit compilation & chart & theory talk too. I had um, way more to say than I anticipated (I know you only wanted the one page. I have nothing to say for myself. Like most topics in Dunmeshi things snowball because they’re so interconnected. Mercy…) so, many races and observations are only mentioned near the bottom.

Beauty standards and race in Dungeon Meshi

Not pictured there’s also how elven society is harsh on visibly disabled people, and how the demon took away Mithrun’s silver eyes and ears to take away his pride. There’s also how Senshi might have fit in with the orcs more easily because of the dwarven wide body shape, and how they tend to have more body hair too I suppose. In the extra on orcs we see Senshi living with the orcs and he gets judged because of the hierarchy rather than his looks.

What is fashionable also differs from culture to culture, and there’s how tattoos only seem common with elves, though dwarves and others do also sometimes have some. They seem to not raise much brows, which makes sense since for many essentially they’re for professional (magical) purposes especially with elves. Gender roles also differ in type and importance, but generally they are similar to irl ones for the races we see. Elven society seems to be the least gendered, which would be an unsurprising logical outcome of having lesser sexual dimorphism aka they look more androgynous. Comparing fashions and gender roles and how they affect beauty standards would be a whole other compilation and conversation. Kui has great worldbuilding partially because she’s got such a good grasp on sociopolitics and geopolitics. History affects cultures and beauty standards greatly. Kui’s oneshot Distant Utopia was very eye opening on her way to worldbuild and the consideration she gives these things, I do really recommend reading it.

Out of the big 5, we know the least about gnomes, but their sheet does say both culture and region are similar to dwarves’ and they end up being confused together often, so we can imagine the beauty standards are similar to dwarves’ as well.

I wanted to touch on this in a post eventually, but how one daydream hour page said half-foots tended to be curvaceous like in the artwork below puzzled me for a long time, all the half-foot characters we see during canon are rather slender and lanky after all, Chil’s succubi also being more curvy than plump. Economics are for sure a factor in that I imagine, the half-foots characters we see are all implied to be some flavor of poor or malnourished, as are half-foots depicted as empoverished oppressed minorities in general. Even comparing the artwork with the half-foot sheet’s depicted average half-foot, the ones on the left seem bigger. Wouldn’t it make sense though, if unlike dwarves half-foots don’t have similar naturally wide bodies, yet due to idolizing dwarves they work towards having a similar body shape/type to emulate them?

It’s said half-foots tend to stick to pretty ethnically homogeneous regions (aka half-foots-only communities) unless they move to the big city with ambition to try and make it big (like Chilchuck and his wife & kids did), and that’s interesting imo because then that would mean that in a ton of half-foot communities, they rarely see or interact with dwarves whom they try to emulate. Of course, one thing about beauty standards is that when they get adopted, at one point it stops being "this is how dwarves look and so this is how half-foots should look" and just becomes "this is how half-foots should look", most people feel as though beauty standards aren’t learned but innate, so I figure the half-foots wouldn’t have any problem still seeking dwarvish traits when there are no dwarves around.

There’s also stuff you can glean here and there if you want to extrapolate more. Like how in the race swap artworks, Mickbell is only smiling in the dwarf portrait, and Rin’s elven portrait looks very close to her elven one- Rin who is stated to be beautiful in her profile blurb. Benichidori’s extra does teach us tallmen can definitely have harsh beauty standards, but also since the text portrays her as very dysmorphic that’s likely reflected in her thoughts to a much more intense degree than is common, not an accurate strict baseline to go off. Ah, Kabru’s blue eyes are also why he and his mother lived a rough life in Kabru’s hometown, but that seems to be regional. Good post here on the topic of Kabru’s blue eyes and ties to irl history. There’s a lot to be said about Kabru being a man that in many ways is close to elven beauty standards, and how that might have affected or been affected by his upbringing with elves + his persona as someone that can effortlessly charm most people. Marcille’s section here in this essay also goes into Marcille’s struggles to fit in with the ideal image of an elf.

Looking human

Also notable are beastkins and demihumans: Demihumans are all dehumanized which makes people treat them worse. So if you differ from the visual idea of "human" (an in-world subjective categorization just as much as demihuman is) most people do judge you negatively. Elves and dwarves get to fight about which type of human is considered the prettiest, but demihumans are below tallmen and half-foots, they are considered as simply below the beauty contest, incompatible with it.

Onis are perhaps the demihuman people we know of with the least cultural influence on the dunmeshi world, and with the least intensely different appearance than other demihumans—they seem to be technically categorized as human to people not from the eastern archipelago?— but even them are treated as lesser than human, treated as beasts to slain for reputation points or useful strength to have around and command. It’s said their "magnificient horns" and fangs are often shaven off when the oni lives in tallman towns, so you could easily make the argument that onis are denied the right to have their own beauty standards, having to conform to other people’s and going through mutilation to take away features they might otherwise have taken pride in. Inutade was bought by the Nakamotos from a dangerous sumo fighting ring that got one of Inutade’s tooth broken on her first and only fight, and kept as a low ranking servant ever since. Remember when I said different fashions existed in dunmeshi and how those could also affect beauty standards? Like the elves, if you look at the portraits pages which include a lot of characters that aren’t in the story you can see distinct cultures within the same races, for example one young elf is bald which is in sharp contrast with the usual elven long luscious hairstyles, and that’s especially true for onis I think. Maybe not only from different regions but different eras as well… They have a bit of population in the very north of the western continent, so I like to think some of the ogres live in very cold, maybe even subarctic or arctic conditions. The point I’m getting at here is that within a race, culture/ethnicity like with Kabru will also influence them it isn’t just tallmen as a whole, different communities will have differing beauty standards. The oni history blurb and third row first collumn portrait remind me of Mongolia (which historically was a lot of different nomadic communities with different cultural identities as well. Something something, the oni empire experienced a decline and then tallmen overpowered them, and now they’re governed and split apart by stronger social classes & slavers and the richness of culture was hurt for it especially if they have no real community left of their own), but obviously many of them are dressed and look rather japanese, makes sense considering living in/close to Wa, and first row second collumn portrait reminds me of ainus which again would be logical considering geographical placement, though I’m far from an expert. Interestingly, ainus are indigenous people both in Japan and Russia- Perhaps the northern western continent ogres are meant to be closer to Russia than Canada like I imagined? Ok tangent over.

The kobold sheet says they’re especially sought after as slaves because they’re "adorable", but locally in the western continent they’re repeatedly said to be seen more as ferocious and dangerous. The dehumanization is most apparent in the first comic below. The language barrier and conflicts no doubt worsen this by a lot, but I think it’d be hard to deny that their canine appearance makes the dehumanization worse. "They’re ferocious beasts, they’re demihumans, they can’t be communicated with". Most characters in Dungeon Meshi’s world are desensitized to slavery and most characters are prejudiced one way or another. Point being, kobolds are fully removed from human beauty standards, but no doubt for kobolds, other kobolds are more beautiful than humans are. They’re assumed to be an uncivilized bunch, but just like any other people they like to adorn themselves with nice clothes and jewelry and keep themselves clean and groomed; they too take care of their appearance and take pride in it.

And the orcs! This one we have the most contact with in canon, with not only there being foreigner characters from the ethnicity or hearsay of their homelands and culture but full on contact with a community. We get to see up close what they’re like and what they think, and of course in turn they’re our introduction to how demihumans are harshly looked down upon and seen as inferior, less human and thus less worth valuing and less dignified. It’s text that orcs are ugly to most humans and humans are ugly to most orcs. Since I judged they didn’t need accompanying explanation the pictures showing this are in the pictures dump at the top.

God forbid you sell vegetables to orcs my god- but then again they do basically mandate adventurers to kill any orcs they come across so yeah the world isn’t above that even a little bit.

So yes, my main point here is simply that orcs are yet another evidence of the physical ideal of "human" being an important beauty standard for human societies globally.

Izutsumi is our glimpse at how beastkins are treated in the world, and in Wa at least that’s ending up being caged and mistreated as part of a freak show. Izutsumi hates her appearance and wishes she could leave the feline part of herself behind to only be human. Interestingly, not that we have a lot of info on them so this is very much a take with a grain of salt situation, but there seems to be less stigma around artificial beastmen, those who can shapeshift at will. The main difference is of course appearance, that most of the time they simply look like average tattooed humans. Artificially creating humans is an illegal practice, and no doubt it’s not well regarded, but being able to hide that makes them less likely to be discriminated at any moment, or even just discriminated less intensely. Again, looking human is important, not only for belonging but for safety’s sake. Beauty standards rule the world with harsh hands.

Mermaids and fishmen

Ok we’re done now right? Right-! But wait… Wait…! Mermaids and fishmen are said to be demihumans too, special separate cases to the main three demihuman species however, which is also represented by how mermaids and fishmen both are in the Adventurer’s Bible chapter Monsters meanwhile ogres, kobolds and orcs are in the chapter World. They’re an interesting topic because they directly tackle this topic, not only in a meta way for the readers but also making characters themselves struggle to quantify their humanity with the goal of knowing wether they should be eaten or not, especially Chilchuck. Chilchuck’s "is it really just a matter of feelings?" mini arc.

The party asking themselves "Should we eat this?" is very common, and often they end up playing a little loose on morality, like eating the red dragon’s meat despite it having digested Falin. Not unsimilarly Marcille freaks out a little over the vegetables they harvested having been grown with fertilizer, aka largely human poo. Half of the motivation of "should we eat this perhaps sentient creature" is out of consideration and compassion, but more strongly and more often, the characters struggle with a sense of taboo at eating something too closely related to humans. Even, feel uncomfortable because of the deepseated impression that eating it would dirty them in some way. Cannibalism is an interesting and relevant topic in many ways, but what I want to mention is how there’s the more or less universal belief that committing cannibalism inherently taints you as a person and turns you more monstrous, morally but also literally depending on some myths such as w*ndigos and onis in some cases, like in Touge Oni. Marcille and Izutsumi both express a fear of eating monsters turning them monstrous. Maybe this is part of what Laios was hoping for, honestly. There are two fears here, if eating a demihuman monster constitutes as cannibalism or not, and so, will eating it taint you because it’s a human, or will eating it taint you because it’s a monster? You are what you eat, until it’s a little too literal. You morally are the means by which you get your food, and you physically are the result of your nutrition. Dungeon meshi manages to mix an exploration of humanity with the theme of food because our relationship to food is very deep and complex, psychological as much as physiological.

In the end, the characters sort of shrug and accept that they’ll never quite understand the world of mermaids and fishmen and how they operate, and what that means about them. Laios is the one always challenging these notions other characters take for granted, it’s not obvious to Laios why people are softer on mammals than other animals and plants, it’s not obvious to Laios why people would be afraid of eating a monster just because it’s a monster, it’s not obvious to Laios why some food is gross to Marcille but not fish testicles, it’s not obvious to Laios why you should immediately regard orcs and kobolds badly.

"Cows are probably closer to humans [aka closer to being human] than fishmen, though they’re clearly intelligent", dehumanization to lessen empathy towards them to be able to eat them. Meanwhile, mermaids seemingly have a less noticeable "civilization" or intelligence, they hunt in groups like fishmen, but they don’t use tools and such, they feel more primal and similarly instinct driven, and yet… Do they attract sympathy more? Mammals, humans, is it because of their nature or because of their appearance?

Both the nature and appearance of fish are ones people don’t typically sympathize with. "Fish don’t feel pain", "goldfish only have 5 seconds of memory", "it’s okay to keep fish in completely empty bowls too small for them until they die from it", so many lies and misconceptions exist that make people less considerate of them. The average lifespan of a goldfish is 10-15 years, the record is 43, but they’re not seen as lives that really matter, so a lot of goldfish die in a few weeks of bad aquarium conditions. There’s a lot of research on animals evolving to look cute and appealing to make some predators want to kill them less and parents want to care for them more, including humans. First good google research result gave me this credible short article on the topic. In Chilchuck’s weighing wether a fishman is far enough from being human or not to eat, "face is 100% fish" is his biggest argument for it being more acceptable. The face, the most important thing for empathy and recognition. The face, the decapitated fishman one that falls into his hands next chapter.

To quote @room-surprise: "Chilchuck can't explain why it's wrong to eat the merpeople, even though it's NOT complicated. But the problem is Chilchuck would have to accept and acknowledge that the merpeople might be people? And that's outside of the worldview he passively believes, so he can't just say that, because he doesn't think that's true. But that IS why he "feels" it's wrong. And it's all you'd need to say for Laios to understand! But it would require acknowledging that maybe the way they're treating and talking about the merpeople is wrong."

The idea of Chil not being able to grapple with how maybe some monsters are more humans than they seem, him who had been an advocate of half-foots rights, half-foots who get undermined and treated as inconsequential sacrifices… Grappling with how he could relate to the merpeople’s situation almost, and pulling away because it’s so existentially horrifying. I do not want to see myself into an hostile fish-faced warrior I can’t communicate with. In a way this also relates to Chilchuck being the only party member who doesn’t see Izutsumi as a cat in the relationship chart, the only one to treat her with full human dignity. He knows the struggle to be taken seriously, he knows being infantilized and he knows what it’s like to be treated as less than human.

Below, you will see Chilchuck draws the line of where they become not okay to eat as when "they already look like mermaids". Above, there’s speculation that the algae hair is partly to mimic "the mermaids’ beautiful female form". Is it because mermaids are their enemies and the ambiguity might give them extra seconds to attack or flee? Is it to trick adventurers instead? It’s striking to me that this is what works, with the adventurers. Sure the fishmen are intelligent, but explicitly here, what makes them no longer acceptable prey to Chilchuck is that they look close enough to a mermaid, close enough to human. Mermaids who of course themselves have this form to entice and seduce and charm the adventurers they prey on. Chilchuck considers the intelligence due to the tridents, but most of his internal debate centers around their appearance, and the image of a fishman skewered sickens him. The power of mimicry… Mimic being a beautiful human woman. Mimic being cute, babies being wired to make us feel protective and softened. Half-foots, sometimes pretending to be children for scams or help or avoiding trouble.

The mermaids are only concerned by their differences and not their similarities, and have no trouble treating the fishmen as food rather than peers. To an outside perspective like us, the audience, all these categorization of "more human" and "less human" between onis and orcs and elves and tallmen etc seem stupid and unfounded, but to the people living in Dungeon Meshi’s world, elves may as well be mermaids while onis are fishmen, not alike at all, unworthy of empathy and thus fine to eat.

Ultimately, Dungeon Meshi promotes unity. It’s about seeking to understand the unknown and the misunderstood, the dehumanized and the inhuman. It shows the good that comes from seeking to understand what you do not, even when that’s one another.

How to get past the fear of OC posting

People should create for the sake of creating but people post to engage with the community. However, posting can be intimidating and anxiety-inducing for a lot of people. It’s easy to say “do it scared” but much harder to put into practice. So, I’ve put together a few steps that lead up to doing it scared. These won’t work for everyone and this is meant more as general advice.

Step One: Why are you scared?

The first step is to figure out what about posting is scary for you. Oftentimes, it’s not as simple as “what if my post flops” or “what if people think I’m cringe”. Once you’ve figured out the surface-level reason, dig a little deeper. If your post flops, does that lead to you doubting the worth of what you’re creating? If you’re worried about what people think, is that because you’ve experienced judgement before or are worried your inbox will be flooded with criticism?

Identifying why you’re scared will not only help you understand yourself better (yippee!) but you can also then work on the source of your fears and anxieties at your own pace.

Step Two: Find ways to lessen your fears

One way of working through anxiety online is to find ways to mitigate the specific source of your fear.

Some fears have easier solutions than others. If you’re worried about people criticising your work, you can turn off anonymous asks (as most people are less likely to be haters when there’s a name attached to it) or turn asks off entirely, as well as limiting replies to those who have been following for a week. This way, if someone does want to be an unpleasant individual, it’s a little harder for them to do so.

A lack of engagement is a little harder to remedy. Here, the only real solution is to try and divorce the idea that engagement = worth. Remember why you’re creating an OC. Because it’s fun! It’s an act of creation! Because you want to find a community…? A community or OC friends will never just drop into your lap. You need to seek them out yourself. Look into discord servers, forums, tumblr networks (are they still a thing?), fandom events and exchanges, and most importantly: go out of your way to send asks/questions to others and build friendships with them! If you’ve got social anxiety like me, this is going to be a big challenge. Which leads to the next step…

Step Three: Start small

It doesn’t matter how small your first step is - so long as that step is forwards! If you’re nervous about OC posting, find the smallest thing about them and post it with the expectation of getting no notes. That’s right, I want you to go in and expect it to flop. Anything over one note is an automatic win. This first post isn’t about engagement - it’s about getting over the initial fear of posting. 

It can be tempting to just go right out the gate with elaborate explanations of backstory, lore implications, power levels, everything. But the trick really is to start small. Most people scrolling tumblr aren’t going to read a few thousand words on something they’re not invested in yet. TL;DR is a curse that I’m sure we’ve all fallen victim to. 

Instead, break up information about your OC into small pieces that can be posted one by one and have some kind of visual piece with it. People are usually more drawn to images than text. For example, which of these two things are more visually interesting?

Obviously this comes down to personal preference but a lot of people would find the illustrated version to be more interesting. You don’t need to be an artist to do this either! You could make a version of that example in photoshop or a similar program. Picrews, moodboards, edits, game screenshots and photography can all be used to add a visual element to your posts.

Step Four: Why am I still scared?

Fear is not easily stamped out. Anxiety is definitely the kind of thing that lingers. These steps aren’t meant to immediately make OC posting not-scary. That’s something that will only come with time as you get used to it. Again: Do it. Do it scared. Gradually, it’ll be less terrifying and in the meantime, you might be able to make a few friends who also want to talk about your blorbo.

What this Blog is About

SO!!!! the band's name is neon's ✧ glimmer and it's made up of four first years at miyajo (the girl's academy) :D most of their written lore is under their tag, and a couple shitposts are under the shortened tag "n✧g". i don't think the Original original lore post is under their tag (plus it was super confusing anyways) so i'll just summarize it here!!

basically, the story kicks off because Misaki Kaneko moves to the area and transfers to Miyajo. she bonds with one of her classmates, Maho Sasaki, over their love of music. the two of them decide to start a band, but they don't really have the skills to just be a duo so they basically plaster posters all over the school about wanting a drummer and a vocalist.

meanwhile, the actual leader of this group, Chika Fujiwara, has been doing covers online for more than a year now. her dream was always to be in a band, but it never worked out because people didn't like her/thought she was weird/etc, so now she's a solo act. her sister, Haruka Fujiwara, has been trying to get her back into the band scene, and when Haruka sees the flyers that Misaki and Maho have put up she thinks it's the best opportunity her and Chika are ever going to get. so she starts getting gradually closer with the pair of them, gently prying about what kind of drummer and vocalist they'd want, but never actually offering to audition.

through a sort of long and complicated series of events that im cutting from this summary for the sake of time, Chika is convinced to audition for the vocalist and she does so virtually, so Misaki and Maho don't know it's her (that girl in their class who's cold and doesn't have any friends). Maho and Misaki listen to the audition and decide they HAVE to have her, and Haruka auditions for drummer on the spot (she's with them because she's the one who put Chika's audition on their computer. but they don't know that lol.) and she also gets the part! now they have a full band yippee! just one problem; they have no clue who their singer is.

Chika arranges to meet them in front of Miyajo, and when they arrive, she reveals her identity to them and launches into a speech abt how she was really scared to do this but she trusts them and she can't wait to work with them-

-and Maho completely shuts her down. Maho places a lot of emphasis on community, and in her eyes, Chika doesn't have any. which must mean she's untrustworthy and did something to drive that community away. she rips Chika apart, and Chika runs away, not knowing what else to do.

Haruka (who Misaki and Maho did not know was affiliated with Chika in any way at all) is understandably really angry because she thought she could trust these people. she thought this was the best opportunity she'd ever find and it got so far just for Maho to crush it by being an asshole. she throws her drumsticks at Maho and quits the band on the spot.

Misaki doesn't quit the band, but she firmly refuses to take Maho's side and leaves her all alone in the school field with some harsh words.

i'll be honest i'm not super clear on how the band gets back together but they Do and that's the end of the main story HAGSHDGDHDH sorry this part is still in development. anyways i hope you liked this lil summary!! you can ask me to go more in depth about any specific part and i will :3 honestly just feel free to send any followup asks lol i love interactions with my ocs and also i think u are super cool for asking me about them even tho we have literally never talked before. im giving u a cupcake and a nice cup of tea. anyways thank u for the ask!!! remember to stay hydrated :D

Well in nexo knights there's a knights school shocker i know a school of knights?? What a novel idea

It the start of the extensive oc plot that me n a few friends have been making up as we go razor n their friends are in the knights academy

However plot twist razor is a actually a MONSTER!!! can you believe that a monster in the killing monsters 101 place that's crazy

Since razor is a basilisk they can disguise themself so no one can tell they're a monster well no one but the besties

Their friendgroup are @/merloksdigitaltoes ocs cherry🐍 sage🐦 n trace🐐 and @/stellarwaffles oc talya☀️ + a surprise addition that will join later🦈 wink wink we call them the chimera pride :)

Anyways academy arc doesn't really have much plot it's just the characters getting introduced to each other n hanging out

Sage adopted trace as his friend while cherry adopted razor meanwhile cherry n trace were beefing but dw they make up all 4 of them are friends now yippee 👍talya joins the academy later in the years n joins the friendgroup cause gaydar for monsters

Apocalypse arc is based on the sadly cancelled s5 where the gang are basically trying to not die

Talya gets infected big L just don't get infected loser trace dies but then comes back then dies again skill issue n the other three are just going thru it™️

At the end of the arc razor graduates but not the rest of the friendgroup cause um have you considered being older?? Idiots 🙄

Fish arc is the MAIN main arc we think about that lore needs like 10 pages on it's own

This takes place like a year or 2 after the last arc when the group all graduated a lot of ppl are going missing in the peaceful seaside town of forgetavile n as their first group mission the gang are tasked w figuring out what's going on n fix the issue

Turns out fish ppl have been kidnapping the ppl of forgetavile 😱😱 the knights try to do something but thise fishes are smart dealing with them is no easy and oh no this glowy mean fish lady put a curse on cherry wtf

So they're all staying at forgetavile trying to stop more ppl from going missing until they deal with the fish pp also they find this weird fish twink washed up on shore? He's talking a lot of nonsense about a place called totallynotatlantis and this loser named agniss? Idk he looks gay

Maybe some day I'll post all the fish arc drawings i never posted it'll take days to post all of them lol

Last arc in the timeline is cayne/mimic arc this one involves another grouo of ocs

So remember how razor is a basilisk? Ok hear me out what if there was another basilisk n HEAR ME OUT!! What if he was EVIL

This evil basilisk is named cayne explaining the name of the arc n he was actually annoying the other oc group before the gang got intangled with the plot

The other group minus one are still in the academy so when they found this loser trying to commit identity fraud they asked the older moe experienced group to help (they will later regret this decision)

We don't have a clear story w this one it's just cayne going around committing identity fraud all over the room also sage n that fish twink are missing from that arc i bet they're kissing i hate those homosexuals

It is, once again, OC posting hours I think i've posted art of the lady on the right before, Linette, and the one beside her is Luce This week at school we worked on character design focusing on shape language and good silhouettes and stuff, so i thought i'd use it as an opportunity to make some new references for these two since their old ones are kind of awful lol

Also did some silly mspaint doodles of them, perhaps a bit lore related since as i was drawing their references i finally decided a bit more on what i wanted to do with them story and background wise. I love desigining characters and coming up with who they are while i draw them yippee

MEET MY OC CLOVE PART 2

(We will be continuing on where we had previously left off on Clove Lore lmao)

Redemption Arc (The depression arc more like it)

After WOTFI 2023, Clove was just going to lock herself up in her lab and throw herself into her studies but then she realized that SMG3 had the keys to her lab last (dumbass) so since she had nowhere else to go (she literally lived in that lab so she was basically homeless) so what does she do? she decided to go live under the bridge of the SMG4 castle.

She was surprisingly never caught down there but one day Mario did accidentally catch her down there with her pitched tent and fire. The crew wondered why she didn't tell them beforehand if she needed a place to crash, but Clove still felt guilty after years of rivalry with them, after she was seen as a friend, no longer a foe, she decided to live in the castle for a while.

Remember the last post when I told ya'll that Clove felt like she had no purpose after she sent SMG3 to the graveyard? Well, this is where we go into more detail about that.

Living at the castle and feeling like she had real friends who just liked her for who she was, not whatever she made, was pretty wholesome but it also brought Clove to the realization that she didn't really know who she was, without 3 or without her craft. Luckily, she had good friends to try and help her move on past her traumas and her new journey of self-discovery (yippee, healing arc!)

Genesis Arc (oooooh)

Needless to say, Clove had mixed emotions when she found out that Smg3 was still alive but when the corrupted Morchu appeared, this sparked a new interest in her and wanting to do the study of Memes and their entire history!

I want to say Clove was mostly neutral for this arc but this did give her a new hyperfiction (lamo)

Oh yeah, at the end of the arc, Clove gets her keys to her lab back from 3. That was kinda the whole mini-story arc with her, asking Smg3 for her keys back but she couldn't at first because she felt guilty about what she did to him and their friendship technically (they become neutrals after this)

Revelations (Shit is about to go down)

It's no surprise that Clove had enrolled to Omnia Academy along with Melony and Meggy but the reason she enrolled is because of her new dream to re-open her lab and turn it into a school for people just like her (awww happy Clove!) so she joined a science club.

Her shit with God box is also important because she had also read up on that when she was studying the YouTube remote ("The World's Cursed and Definitely Powerful Objects that would destroy the World if laid on the wrong hands" remember that book?) so she was definitely a G in this arc too.

But with Clove prioritizing her friends and saving the literal world, she gets kicked out of the science club (it's hella strict) Clove is heartbroken but then decided that she can just open a school by herself claiming that she technically has all the knowledge she needs now.

(Also bonus small arc, Clove and Smg3 gain a new understanding of who they are now and what they used to be, this revelation has made them somewhat mutual now)

The End? (is it the end of Clove Lore?)

I don't think Clove's story will really end but here are some small bonuses and fun facts!

Fun fact 1: Clove does eventually open her new lab/ school right on the showgrounds! (had to bribe Smg4)

Fun fact 2: Clove and Smg3 do become friends again and they're in a partnership with Clove in charge of making Smg3's bombs for him (They still love creating trouble together)

Fun fact 3: After IGBP, Clove grabbed a sample of the Eldrich goo and studied it (Results came back unknown...)

Fun fact 4: Clove still catches up with her Grandfather

Fun fact 5: Clove found out she had a brother when she reconciled with her family...she's not very happy about that fact....but she loves him to death (His name is Eden "Olive" Gadd) (Btw, he's like 5)

Fun Fact 6: Most of all the science junk she has in her lab comes from the dark web or Bob

Fun fact 7: She actually designed and made the Spy Rizz watches in WOTFI 2023

Fun Fact 8: This is what her WS and WOTFI 2023 designs look like!

Fun fact 9: When Clove first met Mr. Puzzles, the very first thing she wanted to do was experiment on him ("HOW THE FUCK WAS HE ABLE TO "Cut off his face and put a T.V in his place"!? I NEED TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF MINCHERNIARY HE USED!"

Fun Fact 10: Clove x Smg3 real (or as I call it caffeinated chemistry...)

I wanna say Clove developed this crush on Smg3 way before the YouTube arc (so it made it extra dramatic for her to send him to the graveyard oooohh) It was mostly one-sided love and Clove had mostly kept it to herself (some days she was flirty and other days she was a wreak)

In the present time, Clove is fine with being Smg3's friend now but she never really forgot how 3 used to make her feel.

when mayumi still went to school, she was almost never invited to parties and was generally avoided (she was an insane bully in middle school and freshman year to cope with her home life so #karma #rip #deserved) the ones she did go to though, no one talked to her unless they were super drunk or under the influence of other substances so she'd have a drink then leave. the people who did talk to her would usually cuss her out or try to take a swing at her. it never really changed for her and she knew that, but there's free food and drinks!!!

ryuji grew up in a smaller, more conservative town where parties were generally traditional festivals. he liked them and would go to as many as he could with his family and friends, but he thought crashing random functions with cokeheads and alcoholics was better. his reasons: a shit ton of drunk people are 1. funny, 2. dont gaf about him being there, and 3. he doesn't know anything about them and would be too fucked up to care about who they are

mayumi doesn't believe in anything and was borderline nihilistic at one point in life. she doesn't feel like there's a need for her to believe in a higher being and even if she tried, she can never convince herself to do so. in her mind, if there's a god that's punishing her for not believing in it, then they can go fuck themselves

ryuji on the other hand, was raised in a non-religious household that didn't believe in anything apart from traditional japanese gods and goddesses. however he's tried to devote himself to christianity in order to "fix himself" because he has a crippling inferiority complex and unhealed trauma. it didn't work out and now he has an intense hatred for the church and religion in general cuz he thinks it failed him.

🐞 (ladybug) - What does a perfect day look like for your oc? What do they do? Who do they see?

mayumi would like to be in a tropical place out of a touristy area where no one knows her. she has a huge appetite and can spend an entire day eating around. she's also never been outside of japan so somewhere completely different would be like a dream. she's like one of those tourists who pretend to be a local but u can tell she's one cuz she's always taking pics LOL

ryuji fantasizes about living in a high rise apartment in the busiest parts of tokyo and see his face posted on a huge screen on the side of a building, right outside of his window. he'd actually really like doing business and he'd like to close off the day wasted at a club (and maybe make out with one person... or two.... or three....)

☆ goin 2 concerts!! in order (4 the most part) i've seen (not counting th openers) -- taylor swift (oh yeah ember lore i was super into her as a kid), depeche mode (2x), the rolling stones, queen w/ adam lambert, gorillaz, julie (2x), foo fighters, bikini kill, fontaines d.c., and paul mccartney!! my next stop is nine inch nails!!!!!!!!!! fuck yeahhh (i'm so fucking excited. by the way) and hopefully some other future stops include poppy, deftones, and pixies ;]

How long do your dnd games last/how many are you in because it seems like you are posting about a new group every few months lol

and what is going on with the variety of outfits in said group. the bird and one girl are wearing armour and the girl next to her is running around in a crop top? sorry if that sounds agressive its not I just can't think of a better way to word it.

from the general trend so far each game i play runs about 1-2 years if were talking solely about start to finish (for the ones ive dmed, my 1st campaign, causality, took about a year to finish and my 2nd one, voided sky, took 2 years closer to 3ish) i play with a set group, and lucky for me, im not the Only one who runs ttrpg campaigns so i also get to play as a Player rather than running the games.

the only other campaign that finished ive posted on my blog was the atla campaign called balance that also ran roughly 1-2 years and that overlapped with voided sky cause we just switch off the campaign thats being played that week (i can break down the different groups of ocs youve seen on my blog tho i wont mind. there is a Lot of characters.)

this will be the first time in a while where im not running a campaign at all!!! i get to play my funny failgirl and not have to worry about writing plot notes for the game!!!!

also to the variety of the aesthetics. lol. ✨✨✨THERES TIME TRAVEL BABEY!!!!!✨✨✨ in this world (which actually shares the same lore as causality yippee!!) there is a 5000+ timeline worth of history that splits into 2 branches around 4000

naturally theres going to be conflicting aesthetics cause 3/6 of them know that a mobile cellphone is and the rest have no clue what in the damn hell a "meme" is much less an instant text message

i revisit ur tags on my recent ficpost often (tysm for leaving such glowing feedback 😭 i love how u dissected it and were so specific in what u enjoyed, i smile ear to ear irl everytime i think about it 😫🤧) and i was thinking to myself that you’d totally like a little more of what i’m cooking for this universe! i hope i’m not wrong 😭

i have 9(-10???) ocs i’d like to include into the narrative, four of which are gonna be slot into the scarabia dorm, with the fifth on the nrc staff! three are twisted from the aladdin show series, one is from an aladdin-based game, and the third is twisted from bagheera (the black panther/leopard that helps mowgli in the jungle book!) because i learned that the plot of the jungle book is based in asia, much like aladdin 🎉🥳

the other five are alotted in different dorms! i’ve got an anglerfish (based off the finding nemo one), a mad hatter, a leopard based off the one in tarzan, a wildebeest from the stampede in the lion king, and a mystery boy from the ignihyde dorm!

one of mine from the scarabia bunch is gonna be scorpion-themed, and i have a feeling (based off no real evidence cjdnfnks) that you might be fond of that one in particular 😭 call it my spidey sense cjcjdn

i got major inspo from the hottentola tamulus or indian red scorpions that are found in sri lanka, pakistan, nepal, and india!

they are considered one of the world’s deadliest scorpions with venom very dangerous and sometimes fatal ☺️ i wanted him (and the other three boys) to be antagonist-types to kalim and jamil in terms of dorm-specific yandere infighting lmfaooo;; i think the inclusion of my oc’s will give abstruse’s spin of twst a unique and intriguing flair in comparison to og yan!twst~

my goal with these characters is to give the main cast a run for their money! i’m of the opinion that a lot of the boys will team up with each other, so i think my making of an original third party will create more layered conflict and lore in-verse that the main story writing just lacks imo 😓
