On your horse profiles, theirs a link and if you press it it takes you to a tag. How do you do that?

So to create the link I just typed out what I wanted the text to say.

E.G.  “this is my link”

Then I highlight the text and a little menu will pop up above it. Look for the button that looks like two pieces of chain. It will open up a little box for you to put the address for the link.

So I used a link that goes directly to one of my tags. If you don't have spaces in the tag its much easier to do without looking it up. The link you want will often look like yourusername.tumblr.com/tagged/whatevertagWhen you put spaces or symbols in it gets complicated. Like a tag with a space  such as “this one tag” will have a dash in the link to look like “this-one-tag” My tags have a colon (:) and a space in it so the link that says “horse: chip” will look like “horse%3A-chip”. I assume the “%3A” is the code for a colon.

Hihello dear Nonnie! I have no idea, I don’t think I saw an official statement from Tumblr going around, but then again, we didn’t get anything from Tumblr about the blog deleting shit either, so we can never know for sure until they say something.

I can say though that it’s only relevant to the search engine and not the tags. I am really shitty at explaining things so let me refer to this post by the lovely @lovelcst who explained the thing SO AMAZINGLY: http://lovelcst.tumblr.com/post/180240694163/tumblr-just-killed-links This should help you go over the search engine and get into the tags where links still work. (Short story use /tagged/whatevertag instead of /search/whatevertag.)

The search feature is more or less useless. If you’re looking for tags, you want to go to the website page in the top and add /tagged/whatevertag. Like, if I’m https://wearethekat.tumblr.com, if I want to find all my posts tagged #SOUP!!!, it’d be https://wearethekat.tumblr.com/tagged/SOUP!!!. This also works for other people’s blogs. Although if they don’t use tags, you’re out of luck.

I’m having trouble with the search feature on my own page. Do you know how to make your own tags show up? For example, I many posts tagged as “Legolas” but the only tags I can select from my search bar are “Gimli” and “thorin”. When I type “Legolas” into my search bar, it tells me there are no fics with that tag (even though I know there are and can scroll down and find them that way). Any idea how to fix this?
