What kind of Virus has infected Versant' territory? (Guess it is a GI virus)
Yea idk. In the fic I said it was the flu but then I realized thatâs a respiratory tract thing so itâs up to interpretation now lol, maybe even a fictional/undiscovered virus. The infectants are submucosan firbroblasts tho and you are right about it being GI, that comic page Iâm assuming youâre referencing takes place in the duodenum epithelium. The page where it actually shows the virus hasnât been posted I donât think so Iâm curious to know what prompted this ask, maybe I can give more info
#I wrote it as the flu bc season 2 showed us the flu in the intestines and I am a gullible little loser /j#whatever it was the T cells knocked it out pretty quick#cells at work#hataraku saibou#spec evo#au#my ocs#ask

You half-stirred when you felt Opie get out of bed in the morning. He tried so hard not to disturb you when he got in and out of bed, mostly because he was usually doing so at odd hours. And normally he was successful. But something about his movements woke you up this time. You didnât move, waiting it out to see if he was just getting up quickly to go to the bathroom or to get a drink. But a couple minutes went by and you heard him quietly shuffling around the room to get ready for the day. Heâd gotten home long after you fell asleep the night before.
Your eyes were still shut but you heard him putzing around in the kitchen, most likely grabbing something quick to eat before taking off for the day. You heard the jingling of keys and it made you finally open your eyes and sit up. Getting out of bed, you went over to his dresser and pulled out an old t-shirt before making your way into the kitchen.
He heard the creaking of the old floorboards underneath your feet and turned around. A tired smile spread across his face when he took in the sight of you. He chuckled, spinning the keys around his finger as he did, âYouâre supposed to be asleep.â
You leaned against the doorway to the kitchen, âAnd youâre supposed to be asleep with me.â
âI wonât be out that long,â he walked over to you, looking down at you with a smile when you leaned against his chest, âJust got some club shit I gotta deal with them Iâll be home.â
âCanât you make someone else deal with it?â you gave him your best puppy-dog eyes.
He chuckled, shaking his head as he wrapped his arms around you, âNot how it works.â
You huffed, snaking your arms around his waist, âYou sure about that?â
He nodded, a smile resting on his face, âPretty sure.â
Before he could stop you, you dipped your hand into his pocket and took out his burner cell. You took off towards the other end of the house with a laugh, âWeâll see about that!â
You could hear him laughing as he went to catch up to you, telling you to give him the phone back. You were a couple steps ahead, though, and managed to make it into the bathroom and lock the door before he could catch up to you. He knocked on the door but you could still hear the amusement in his voice as he asked you to let him in.
Dialing the most recent number, it only took a couple rings before someone picked up. Jaxâs voice came on the line, âWhatâs up, Ope?â
âNot Ope,â you couldnât contain your laughter.
âShit,â Jax laughed, âWhatâs up, darlinâ? Everything alright?â
âYea. I just, I was wondering if I could ask you for a favor?â
âThat favor have anything to do with the fact that I can hear Opie pounding on the door right now?â
âMaybe,â you chuckled, âAny chance you could get someone else to do whatever it is that heâs supposed to go and do?â
âYou guys alright?â
âWhat, I canât just want a day without having to loan him out to you guys?â
It got a laugh out of him, âAlright, alright. Iâll call one of the other guys. Heâs your problem today.â
âYouâre a peach, Jax. I donât care what the guys say.â
He chuckled, ignoring your comment, âTalk to ya later, darlinâ.â
âLater, Jackson,â you laughed as you hung up the phone and finally unlocked the door. Swinging it open, you saw Opie leaning back against the wall opposite of the doorway, arms folded across his chest as he waited for you to emerge and give him his phone back. You were beaming as you tossed him the flip phone, âGuess what?â
He raised his eyebrows, trying to fight the urge to smile, âWhat?â
âItâs you and me today.â
He laughed, shaking his head as he tucked the phone back into his pocket, âIs it?â
âIt is,â you stood as tall as you could and pulled the beanie off of his head, âSo get comfy,â you started to push the kutte back off his shoulders.
He chuckled as he shrugged the heavy leather off the rest of the way, âYes, maam.â
You giggled as you took the kutte from him as well, tangling up your free hand in his and pulling him back towards the bedroom. He trailed behind you, soaking up the excitement that you felt over something as simple as him getting the day off to spend with you. Tossing his kutte and beanie onto his dresser, you let go of his hand and dramatically flung yourself backwards onto the bed with a laugh. You excitedly patted the empty space on the mattress next to you, waiting for him to come and join you. With a smile still tugging at the edges of his lips, he peeled his shirt off over his head and stripped down to his boxers before crawling into bed next to you. He slid his hands up underneath the fabric of the shirt you stole, the cold metal of his rings causing goosebumps to break out across your skin. A laugh slipped past your lips as he pulled you in closer.
Your cheek rested against his chest, feeling his steady heartbeat as his arms wrapped tighter around you. he pressed a soft kiss to the edge of your forehead before finally letting out a long sigh and letting his body relax.
âThank you,â he mumbled quietly, âIâve missed you.â
You smiled against his skin, âLet me field all your phone calls and you wonât have to miss me so much.â
He chuckled, pulling away from you just enough so that he could look down into your eyes, âIâll keep that in mind,â he brought one hand up and caressed the side of your face, âI love you.â
You turned, kissing his palm lightly, âI love you too.â

I have a potential prompt for a one shot if you are interested.
Would you write a fic where Rick (and the rest of the JSA) are worried about Beth but she finally shows up safely? Everyone is so relieved, especially Rick... so much so that he goes to hug her but he forgets that his hourglass hasn't completely run out yet and squeezes her too tight. Beth is all like "Uhh, Rick? I can't breathe!" So he quickly (and awkwardly) lets her go.
I think it could be slightly angsty but also cute.
The Disappearing Act
They meet back up behind the garage as planned. Yolanda slinks in from above a roof with Courtney blazing in on the seat of her staff behind her, not nearly as concerned for stealth.
Rick shakes his head at the two. âWhereâs Jennie and Beth?â
âIâm here!â They all raise their heads up at the sound of her voice floating in the air.
"Wait." She quickly powers down, setting down her lantern as she shakes out her hand. âWhereâs Beth?â
âWhat do you mean?â Rick questions. âSheâs supposed to be with you.â
Jennie glances up from her ring with a sharp breath and glowing eyes. âNo, she left me to find Courtney after you called.â
Courtney swerves around. âMe? I didnât call her!â
Yolanda raises an eyebrow. âWhat call? I was with Court the whole time, she didn't call.â
âI donât know, she got it through her goggles, so she left.â Jennie took a step back. âI wouldâve gone with her, but we were meeting up here now anyway. I thought sheâd be here.â
âSo Bethâs gone?â Courtney cries. The cosmic staff flares up as she gets more agitated. âHow could you lose Dr. Mid-Nite?â
âI didnât lose her, Courtney, I trust Beth to make her own decisions. This isnât my fault!â
âAlright!â Rick snaps, stepping between the two of them before things get out of hand. âItâs only been five minutes. How about we try actually calling her?â
Yolandaâs already on it, pressing a hand to the side of her helmet to get a signal through the coms as she stalks. âDr. Mid-Nite, Itâs Wildcat--Do you copy? Or hear me? Anything? Mid-Nite? Beth? Hellooo?â
Rick pulls down his hood and rakes his hand through his hair. âWhere were you when this happened, Jennie?â
Jade light leaves Jennieâs eyes as she backs against a wall, holding herself stiffly. âI-I donât remember."
"Well." Rick gives her five seconds. "Think harder."
"Okay! Okay! Um...I think we were near the office building for The American Dream.â
âWas anyone suspicious with you? Or around you?â
âWhat kind of question is that? Why would Jennie be with anyone suspicious?â
Courtney rolls her eyes. âI meant did she notice anything?â
âBeth this is Yolanda, this isnât funny anymore. Iâm serious, please say something....â
âNo! I donât think so!â
Rick spins on his heel.
âWhere are you going?â Courtney yells after him. âWe canât split up now! What if thereâs actually a villain out there?â
âThatâs exactly why we need to find her instead of wasting more time.â Rick flips his hourglass. âYou get Pat. Iâm going to the American Dream with Jennie.â
âIâll stay here,â Yolanda tells them. She whacks the side of her helmet again. "Dr. Mid-Nite, do you read me?"
Courtney points out her helmet isnât broken. Itâs just Beth not answering, which doesn't get well received by any of them.
"Geez!" Courtney hugs the staff to her chest, with a grimace, properly scolded. âGet Pat and shut up. I got it!â
~.~
Pat jogs out of the Pit Stop, wiping his sweaty brow with a rag when he hears the loud noise coming in from outside. âDid you find her?â
Rick kicks at the garbage cans lined up at the curb.
âI know youâre stressed.â Pat surveys the trash now littered along the sidewalk. âBut youâre picking that up. And replacing those bins.â
"Fine!" Rick kicks another one.
Patâs mouth thins into a straight line, evidently not being listened to.
âThat would be a no,â Yolanda fills in with a frown. âCourtneyâs circling around her neighbourhood. Pat checked the school. Iâm still not getting anything from the coms.â
Rick lists off his search efforts in anxious detail, counting them out on his gloved fingers. âI tried the tunnels since her goggles donât work down there. The ISA lair was empty. The cells were unlocked. I knocked down Grundyâs old cage, nothing.â He's frantic, tugging at the base of his hourglass, as though getting choked by his remaining time. âThereâs nothing! I thought I could find that her goggles fell off or one of her gloves, anythingââ
"Dr. Mid-Nite? Please answer. Make a noise if you can hear this. This is Wildcat, are you okay? Dr. Mid-Nite?"
âAnd I went back to the last place I saw her.â Jennie wilts, sinking down to sit on the steps. She wraps her arms around her knees, the lantern firmly placed at her feet. âThis is my fault.â
Yolanda gives up on reaching Beth for a moment, taking a seat beside Jennie to console her.
âI shouldâve paired with her,â Rick mutters, just barely loud enough for the others to hear. âWe always do these stupid patrols together.â
âThe patrols are not stupid!â Courtney butts in with a scoff. The Cosmic Staff charges at Rick in her defense. Unthinking, he swats it away with his strength, sending it flying out in the other direction.
âHey! Donât hurt the staff!â
âWhatever, Court!â Rick snaps. âBeth is actually missing and none of us have a clue as to where she is, weâre not going to be talking about your staffâs feelingsââ
Yolanda wrings her hands and gets up abruptly. âMaybe the goggles malfunctioned again and she got lost somewhere.â
âSheâs literally biked to every square foot of this town.â
âThe goggles malfunctioning is a good theory, Yolanda.â Rick opens his mouth to retort and Pat continues before he can start another fight, âIâve already given Barb a call in case she calls our house. Girls, why donât you check your cell phones?â
The girls file back into the Pit Stop. Rick hovers by the door, reluctant to go in with them.
âPat? Why arenât you worried?â The tone borders on accusatory. Rickâs face is still covered by the dark mask, blending into the dark night, but his concern is transparent through his eyes.
Pat sighs. âItâs only been 2 hours. Beth is a smart girl.â
âSheâs a smart, small, pretty girl in Blue Valley. A town full of murderers.â
âIâm well aware of that, Rick.â He pulls the rag out to wipe his face again. âBut freaking out and hurting peopleâs feelings isnât going to help anybody find her.â
âButââ Rick turns his face away, twisting the chain hanging from his neck again. âSitting here isnât helping either!â
Weâre gathering clues and searching the town. I didnât say weâre giving up.â Pat takes his time. âLook, I know you care aboutââ
âI just donât know what Iâd do if something bad happens to her!â He gestures at himself. âOr if this runs out and I canât help her. It isnât like Beth toâŚ.go silent.â
Pat claps a hand over the shoulder of Rickâs golden cape. âI know.â
âPat!â Yolanda bursts out through the side door. Courtney and Jennie quick at her heels. âSheâs okay! I heard her voice through the helmet! Sheâs on her way back!"
âWhat?â Rick shot up. âWhere?â
Though he doesnât have to look far. Sheâs at the corner, stumbling in her haste to get to them in the dark. The girls all scream and run and fly out to her, ignoring Patâs insistence that Courtney and Jennie should at least try to conceal themselves in the middle of the road.
Rick sits back down heavy on the step, flooded with relief.
When Beth makes her way over, Pat checks to make sure sheâs not wounded, but she waves him off, yanking down her green cowl. âIâm fine, Mr. Dugan. Just thirsty.â
âIâll get you water!â Jennie practically shouts, rushing to the kitchenette inside the garage. âWeâre never splitting up again!â
âWhat happened?â Pat exclaims. âWeâve searched the whole town!â
Her eyes slide to Rick and the glowing sand in his hourglass.
âYou were all looking for me?â
âYeah,â says Rick. âI was about to throw up.â
âSomeone hacked into my goggles and faked Courtneyâs call.â Beth cringes. âThe Shade uh...wanted to talk?â
âThe Shade?â
Courtney's curls whipped back violently. âHe WHAT?â
âIâm okay!â Beth reassures them all again when they panic. âHe messed up my goggles so I couldnât use them until he finished what he had to say. He even dropped me off in his car by Richieâs when we were done talking.â
Courtney prompts, impatient, âAnd he talked to you aboutâŚ?â
Beth sighs. âHeâs giving Barbara an ultimatum about the Zarick artifacts.â
Yolanda grips onto her arm. âHe kidnapped you to make a business arrangement?â
âHe let me go afterwards!â Beth drops her gaze to her brown boots, feeling a bit embarrassed now that she sees how long sheâs been gone. âHe really wants that wand, Mr. Dugan.â
âIâm sure,â Pat says, rolling his eyes. âBarb and I will worry about the Zarick stuff tomorrow. Weâre glad that youâre safe.â
Jennie returns with water and a snack. Beth takes a sip then excuses herself to change out of her Dr. Mid-Nite costume. When she returns, she settles next to Rick, who hasnât said a word since their short exchange.
âSoâŚâ she starts timidly. âYou were gonna throw up?â
Rick pulls her in for an embrace. She gasps. âOnly you could have a whole civil conversation with a supervillain and walk out unscathed.â
âRick! Youâre crushing me!â
âShit!â He lets go immediately when he feels the hard edge of the hourglass glowing in the wedge between them, reminding Rick his hugs right now would hurt. âShit! Sorry! God, Iâm sorry. I just didnâtââ
âItâs okay.â Beth throws her arms around his neck, squeezing tight. Rick closes his eyes, eased. Heâll let her do the holding. âI thought you were going to be mad.â
âWhat?â He turns to look at her. Sheâs so close, still hugging him, he has to look away. âNo, I was worried. I turned the tunnels upside down for you.â
âOh.â Beth lets go, but taps on the glass as the final grains of sand slide through the pinhole. âReally?â
âIâd do it again.â He clears his throat and adds, âFor all of you, I mean. If you disappeared, umâŚâ He trails off, unsure of why heâs feeling so awkward.
But Beth merely nods, seeming to understand. âThank you. That means a lot to me.â They both look down at his chest, watching the hourglass to power down. Beth shoots him a timid smile. âWant to try that hug again?â
âSure.â He stands up and extends out a hand, reeling her in.

Safety Net: Chapter 2
Present! Carol Denning/ReaderÂ
Itâs been three days since youâve been at max and itâs been honestly quite awful. You stared at the tray of food in front of you poking at it with your fork instead of eating it, you werenât hungry and you were restless from not being able to sleep. Who could even sleep here? The lights are on constantly.
âMaking art, (L/N)?â you looked up to see who the familiar voice belonged to, it was Piper with her fiancĂŠe Alex. Piper was starting to become a little more tolerable now that she was reunited with Alex. You were happy for them and honestly glad to have them here with you even if you were never particularly close with either of them during your time up at camp.Â
âI donât know if Iâd call it art but itâs something.â you chuckled, continuing picking at the food. âI miss camp, I feel like I'm always on edge here.âÂ
âI definitely agree with that, sleeping with this fuckin broken arm hasnât been pleasant.â Alex replied as she began eating her food. God, you almost felt nauseous watching someone eat. Food disgusted you right now. âYouâre not pulling a Sister Ingalls are you?â Alex asked half jokingly but also sounding a little concerned.
âNo, I just havenât had much of an appetite lately, I feel sick looking at food, itâs probably just my anxiety. Also the food here looks repulsive..â you sighed.Â
âI donât blame you, I would feel anxious too if I was sharing a bunk with the head of C-Block.â said Piper.
You turned your head to the left over where Carol was, she was playing cards surrounded by her posse. You and Carol havenât really spoken much or been around each other since she basically scared you off the other day. It was kind of an unspoken rule, if Carol was in the room you stayed out of her way and hung around somewhere else until she came out which was pretty often since she was mostly out here playing cards. You were so deep in thought you forgot you were still looking in carolâs direction when you snapped back to reality you saw her staring straight at you with an emotionless expression, you quickly looked away.Â
âSheâs actually not that bad, I mean besides telling me to get the fuck out the other day. Sheâs quiet and clean. except for when sheâs looking at those magazines of men, thatâs when it gets a little uncomfortable. I feel more sorry for you being bunkmates with Badison, Chapman.â you chuckled as Piperâs eyes rolled hearing her roomieâs name.Â
âOh please donât get her started, it will never end.â Alex groaned, rubbing her temple with her functioning hand.Â
âSheâs giving you trouble?â You asked, actually concerned.Â
âTrouble doesnât even begin to describe it. Sheâs a bully!â Piper exclaimed. âThere is something deeply wrong with her.â Piper was normally a pretty dramatic person but you knew she wasnât exaggerating when she was talking about Badison. Youâve only known Badison for a few days but there really was something wrong with her.Â
âI think thereâs something deeply wrong with everyone here.â Alex replied. âTheyâre in maximum security for a reason.âÂ
âI wonder what Carol did.â You said thinking out loud. âEveryone obeys her, shit even Badison is scared of her.â
âAll I know is that one of her girls, Creech, is my bunkmate and I want no trouble.â Alex said, continuing to eat her food.Â
âAw, look at that, all of the new cookies eatinâ together. What is this a fuckin pride parade?â you recognized that god awful bostonian accent, it was Badison as she began to sit down at your table.Â
âWell you know what they say about us gays, we hang out in flocks.â Alex replied sarcastically. You couldnât help but let out a small chuckle.
âI wouldâve never guessed you were a carpet muncher, Mouse. I guess you learn something new everyday.â said Badison. âI better be careful, donât want you developing a crush on me or anything.âÂ
âIâm picky with my women, you have nothing to worry about.â Your eyes widened realizing you said that out loud. It wouldâve been an awkward silence if it wasnât for Alexâs small chuckles.
âOh youâre a funny little thing, now aren't you?â Badison replied, still shocked by what you just said.
âI meant that I'm not really interested in dating while iâm in prison, you know?â you said trying to cover your ass for what you just said.Â
âI got what you meant.â Badison said slowly coming closer to you. âYou should really be more careful with who you smart off too though. Donât wanna start off on the wrong foot with anyone here. Remember what I said on your first day. We can make you want to live or die.â Badison whispered and walked her way over towards Carol.
âIâm so fucked.â You said worryingly.
âBadisonâs not gonna do shit, she just wants to scare you two.â Alex said, trying to comfort you.Â
You nodded. You looked over your shoulder once more to see Badison next to Carol as she played a card game with the other girls. You couldnât help but feel a small pit of worry in your stomach.Â
Later that evening a few hours before lights out, you decided to go take a shower, something you had been avoiding for the past few days. Itâs not that you were unhygienic, it's just you had been slightly depressed from the big transition of moving from up the hill to down the hill.Â
You took a quick look around the shower room, thank god it was empty. Empty showers were a rarity in any prison.Â
It was when you were washing your hair that you heard a couple of footsteps walking in. Well, that was a nice five minutes of peace and quiet. You ignored it and continued to rinse the shampoo out of your hair. Suddenly, you felt an arm wrap around your chest and something pointy and sharp being pressed against your right jugular.Â
âIf you scream, I swear to god I will push this into your neck. You got that?â You nodded trying to hold back your tears. The arms around you flip you over and youâre faced to see two of Badisonâs friends Eckelcamp and Teng.Â
âWhat did I do?â you asked quietly and shakily, almost choking trying to hold back your tears. Youâve mostly kept to yourself this whole time here, actively trying to avoid any trouble, you certainly donât remember doing anything to these two. This is the first time youâve even spoken to them.
âYou disrespected Badison, bitch.â Eckelcamp said, still extremely close to your face. She wrapped her hand around your neck tightly with the shiv still firmly pressed against your neck. You were barely able to breathe. âNext time Badison talks to you, have some fucking manners.â she said slamming your back hard against the shower wall. You did your best to hold back a yelp. Getting stabbed in the neck with a dirty shiv was not the move for today.
âNext time you see her, apologize.â said Teng, âWeâll be watching. Letâs get out of here before a CO comes.âÂ
Eckelcamp nodded in agreement and looked at you once more and yanked your hair pulling you down to the hard wet tile of the bathroom and left.Â
You waited till you heard their footsteps disappear to crawl into a ball and sob under the now cold running water of the shower. So this is what Badison meant when she said live or die. Your hands gently rubbed your possibly bruised neck. You finished your shower and got dressed before anyone walked in and saw you like this.Â
Once you returned to the common room, your eyes scanned the room for Badison. You looked over at Carolâs table, her usual spot but she was absent. You met eyes with Eckelcamp and Teng. Ignoring them you made your way to Badison and Piperâs cell. You really hated the fact that you were being practically forced to apologize to her but this bitch was not worth a stab in the neck with a dirty shiv.Â
Once you got to the cell you saw Badison laying on her bunk and Piper in hers reading a book. You lightly knocked on the open door.Â
âHey, (L/N).â Piper said smiling but her smile quickly faded almost as if she could sense something not right with you.
âHey, Chapman.â you smiled trying to not seem suspicious, as much as you liked Piper she had a tendency to involve herself in situations that she didnât belong in.Â
âThe fuck do you want, Mouse?â Badison asked sarcastically as she laid up from her bunk. She knew exactly what the fuck you wanted.Â
âI was wondering if I could have a word with you.â You asked. âOut here. In Private.â
âWhatever you need to say you can say it here with me and Gapman.â
âPlease, Badison.â You were trying to hide the impatience in your voice. Piper was already looking at you suspiciously.Â
âOnly because you said please.â Badison said she climbed down her bunk making her way out the bunk.Â
You walked over under the stairs. âI wanted to formally apologize to you for disrespecting you.â You said trying to sound sincere.
âI see you met Eckelcamp and Teng.â She chuckled looking at your neck. âOh, those are gonna be some ugly bruises tomorrow.âÂ
âItâs not like I have anyone to look beautiful for here.â you said rubbing your neck.
âAw, you donât wanna look pretty for your lesbo girlfriends.â Badison said, as she made a pouty face.
âYou mean Chapman and Vause? Just because weâre gay doesnât mean weâre dating eachother.â You were actually confused. Was she actually that dumb?
âWhat?â She looked visibly confused. âAnyway, That was a shitty apology.â
âWhat do you want from me, Badison?â You said already fed up.
âI donât like you. I can look past that though if you fill up my commissary for the next two weeks. Donât be stingy with me, (L/N). I know you got plenty of money.â She said with that sleazy fucking smile.
âFine, deal.â You really didnât want to do this but you also didnât want anymore trouble with Badison or the rest of Carolâs gang.
âI accept your apology.â Badison said.
As you were about to turn around to leave you felt Badisonâs foot slide under yours causing you to trip and fall hard on the ground. You heard Badison let out a loud laugh. You could feel your eyes well up with tears again and this time you didnât even bother to stop them from flowing. Let them see you cry, you didnât care anymore.Â
âOops.â Badison said as she continued to laugh.
â(L/N), are you okay?â You heard Piper's voice as she tried to help you up. You must have hit the floor hard enough if Piper heard you fall from her cell.
âIâm fine, Chapman. Just go, donât make this worse for the both of us.â You snapped as you stood up from the ground. You wanted to yelp from the shock of pain that shot through your body.Â
You looked over to see everyone at Carolâs table laughing, except for Carol. Your red puffy tear filled eyes locked with hers for a second. You looked away embarrassed. You hurried as fast as you could up the stairs to your cell. You wanted to lay down and hope you woke up from this fucking nightmare.
As soon as you reached your cell you climbed to the top bunk and crawled up into a small ball and just sobbed. You hated being seen as weak here. You didnât like giving these people that power over you but you couldnât help it. You were so wrong on your first day, you were finally beginning to crack. You werenât sure how long you were crying but your sobs finally turned to small sniffles.Â
âYou new cookies really do crumble quickly.â You heard that stern cold voice say. You lifted your head up to meet eyes with Carol. This is the second time sheâs ever actually spoken to you. You quickly wiped your tears away. âAre you gonna say something or are you just gonna keep looking at me all pitiful?â Carol said as she leaned against the wall of the cell with her arms crossed.Â
âI donât really have anything to say.â You continued to sniffle. âAt least not without having to worry about getting shanked in the shower.âÂ
âOh, so that explains your neck.â Carol chuckled.
Damn was it really that noticeable already?
âI thought you wouldâve known, your girls are the ones who did it.â You replied with a slight attitude putting your head back down.Â
âWhatever Badison has the other girls do has nothing to do with me.â Carol replied.Â
âIâve been here for three days and youâve never bothered to speak to me. Why the sudden change?â You asked.Â
âAm I bothering you?â Carol replied almost as if she was slightly offended.
âNo, youâre not. Sorry, that sounded a lot ruder than it did in my head.â You rubbed your eyes, Please donât beat my ass. You prayed. You had enough ass beatings for the rest of your sentence.
âIâm talking to you because I believe you have potential, (L/N).â Carol said with a slight smirk.
âPotential?â You asked, confused. What the hell does she mean by that?
âI want you to work for me. I can tell youâre smarter than most of these other girls here. It also makes sense considering the fact that we are sharing a cell together.â Carol said. She did have a point. Carol was not someone to be enemies with.Â
âI mean I guess. Look Carol, Iâm just trying to keep my nose clean, do my time and-â
âAnd what? Avoid getting in any trouble? What happens if you get into another disagreement with another inmate and she starts a fight with you? Youâre gonna get fed up with being someoneâs punching bag and youâll fight back. The COs arenât going to see it as self defense. Theyâll happily throw you into the SHU and add more time onto your sentence. Stick by me and Iâll make sure Badison or any other girls never lay a finger on you.â Carol did make a good point. âSee me as a type of safety net, if you will.â
âCan you give me time to think about it?â You asked not sure if you would be able to do it.
âThe offer is off the table then. Continue getting your ass beat. Itâs not hurting me.â Carol said, trying to hide her annoyance.Â
You sat and thought about it for a minute. You knew you werenât going to be able to just continue getting beat on. You were going to break at some point. You looked up at Carol and took a deep breath in.Â
âOkay, Iâll do it.â You had three years left on your sentence, thatâs not a lot of time, you could do this.Â
âShake on it.â Carol said coming up to you with her hand out.Â
You looked at her, a small smile forming at the corners of your lips. âOkay, boss.â You said as you shook her hand.
âSit down here kid, Iâm gonna show you how to play Bridge.â Carol said sitting on her bed as she began to shuffle a deck of cards.
âBridge? Is that the game youâre always playing?â you asked as you slowly began to crawl off the top bed. Trying to ignore the pain in your sore arms and legs.
âYep, Itâs best I teach you now, youâre going to be playing a lot of it.â Carol said, laying out the cards in front of you as you sat down. âShall we begin?âÂ
What the hell am I getting myself into. You thought to yourself as you watched Carol explain bridge to you.

Welcome Home (Part One of Till Forever Falls Apart, A Peter Maximoff/Reader Series)
Synopsis:Â As if getting thrown through the multiverse, trapped in an attic (albeit a cool one), mind-controlled to manipulate his grieving sister, and subsequently dragged out of Westview âfor his own safetyâ by the FBI wasnât enough, Peter Maximoff has now been shipped off to New York to live with a glorified baby sitter like some tragic orphan in a comic book until they find a way to get him back home. Things are not always as they seem, though, and this change might just be for the better.
Tags: Pre-Relationship, First Meetings, Slow Burn, Post-Wandavision
Rating: T
Warnings: Mild Language, References to Ralph Bohner
Word Count: 2400~
This fic has already been posted to my AO3, along with the next two parts! Iâll be continuing it on both platforms.
-------
âSo⌠Ralph Bohner?â
Peter looked up from his mug, the tea inside having gone cold long before. His eyes had been fixed on the floor, his leg bouncing far quicker than what should have been humanly possible. It had been a little over 24 hours since the Hex had disappeared, and Peter was firmly of the mindset that he was taking it all very well.
Even to himself, he was a terrible liar.
âRalph?â His new keeper spoke again, voice soft in the quaint kitchen of the brownstone that Peter would be calling home for the foreseeable future.
It had all been so strange. In one moment he was reorganizing his new attic and trying to figure out how to work the damn DVD player, and somehow in the next, he was a prisoner in his own mind, backseat driving as a witch used his face and voice to torment Wanda. Not his Wanda, though; a new, strange, grieving Wanda with unfathomable power at her fingertips. Thankfully, that didnât last very long.
After just 2 weeks in this strange new reality, Peter missed the X-Men. He missed his dad, no matter how absent and strange he was. He missed his friends, and his sisters, and the strange normalcy that came with being a part of the team when the world wasnât in danger. Peter found himself wishing that things would just slow down enough for him to catch up and figure out what the hell was going on. That was a new one for him.
At least he still had his speed. If he had lost his powers in the freak accident that sent him into another universe⌠well he didnât want to think about that.
Despite this, the FBI guy who had dragged him out of Westview and across the river to New York had given him an explicit warning not to use his powers while civilians were present. Peter didnât mind Agent Woo, he seemed like a good guy and treated him with more decency than most government lackeys would have back home, but it was gonna be completely impossible for Peter to avoid using his speed in public. It wasnât like Agent Woo would even be around to stop him anyway. The only person who could possibly protest was the poor sap that the F.B.I. called in to babysit him, and they would never be able to keep up even if they tried.
âPeter? Are you okay?â
Fuck.
His eyes shot up to meet hers, âYou arenât supposed to know that name,â
âIâm not supposed to know a lot of things,â she replied almost nonchalantly, âbut neither of us is known for doing the things weâre supposed to do, are we?â
Peter chuckled, and for the first time in a while, he cracked a genuine smile. âI guess not,â
The smile seemed to please the woman across the counter. Smiling back, she wrapped her hands around her own mug and sat down on a tall stool, leaning towards Peter. âNow, first things first! I want you to ignore whatever rules the FBI gave you while youâre here. My house, my rules, and despite the fact that youâre in witness protection I doubt anyone unwanted will come knocking at the door to snatch you up,â
As she spoke, Peter really took her in for the first time. She was a small thing, in shape and stature, but soft, all rounded edges and gentle touches. Despite her young face, there was an age to her, too. Looking deep into his memories, he realized she had the same haunted look in her eyes that he had seen all too often in the older members of his team. It was the look of someone who has seen unspeakable loss and survived to tell the tale. He decided at that moment that maybe staying with her wouldnât be so bad.
âSo about that rules thing,â Peter tapped his fingers against his half-full mug, doing his best not to speed up and break it, âI donât exactly do well with rules. They arenât my thing. I canât promise that the cops wonât show up at the door, and I especially canât promise that they wonât be there because of something I did that I knew was against the rules,â
When Peter met the womanâs eyes again she was still smiling, not a hint of displeasure on her face.
âIf I had a problem with you being you, Peter, I wouldnât have offered to take you in. Besides, as long as the cops that show up are human there wonât be a problem,â
Peter paused. âWhat?â
âThatâs a question for another time,â The woman took a sharp turn then, hopping off of her stool and walking her mug to the sink where she proceeded to rinse it out. âNext, even in public, I refuse to call you Mr. Bohner. Ralph I can do if you care about staying anonymous, but I wonât be acknowledging any part of your⌠chosen last name,â Even as she shuddered, there was humor lacing her voice, âBohner, though? Really?â
âItâs funny!â
She turned back to Peter with her face scrunched up in faux disgust. âMaybe to a middle schooler,â
âI had just been pulled out of my room, sucked through a portal, and thrown onto the steps of goddamn Quantico, so excuse me for not being on top of my game. Besides, Bohner wasnât even my first choice. They wouldnât let me go with Jack Ingoff,â
That was enough to send them both into a fit of giggles.
âJack Ingoff?â She wheezed, âYou tried to get the F.B.I. to give you the legal name Jack fucking Ingoff? Thatâs just so you,â
âHey! Whatâs that supposed to mean?â
âIt means youâre both an idiot and the funniest person I have ever met,â
âIâd better be,â
As they continued to laugh, Peter found himself completely enthralled by this strange womanâs face and it occurred to him that she was incredibly beautiful.
It wasnât as if she was a supermodel, though in Peterâs eyes it wouldnât have taken much to make her one. Every part of her just seemed to glow as she gripped her stomach and stifled laughter. She was pretty in quiet ways, in soft glances and gentle touches and unrestrained joy. In the way that everything around her felt like it was full of life. In the kindness that had never wavered while Peter had sat at her kitchen counter, even when he had come through the door swearing at Agent Woo and demanding that he didnât need a babysitter.
The longer he looked, the more beautiful she became, in actions and words and features combined, and Peter suddenly became aware that if he hadnât taken the time to really see her, he never would have realized. He was glad he had slowed down for once.
Somewhere down the line, her laughter quieted.
âSo,â he cleared his throat, âwhatâs your deal?â The cold mug in his hands was suddenly extremely interesting.
Across the counter she stilled, frozen in place for a moment. When she spoke, her voice held an edge of⌠fear? âWhat do you mean?â
Peter did his best to backpedal.
âI didnât mean it like that! I was just wondering what you did to get stuck with me, thatâs all. I doubt they would stick my annoying ass with just anybody, especially after⌠well everything that went down in Westview. Plus, Iâm not just a normal dude. What average New York socialite would take in a kleptomaniac who just so happens to also be inhumanly fast out of the goodness of their heart?â
As he spoke, her shoulders relaxed and she loosened her grip on the edge of the marble countertop. âOh, my deal,â
âYeah. Thereâs more to you than what meets the eye, I can tell,â Something in the way her face flushed at his words made Peterâs heart fill with pride.
âI⌠well I had a unique upbringing,â she responded, voice careful and measured while she watched the floor, âIâm not a mutant, not like you, but I have a little bit of power at my disposal that makes me useful to heroes and hero adjacent agencies. Iâm not a part of the team, my skills arenât usually helpful when it comes to fighting, but they keep tabs on me just in case Iâm needed. This was one of those times,â
Peter snorted. âSounds like a pretty shitty deal,â
âTrust me, if I didnât have to have the government breathing down my back, I wouldnât, but after I worked with the Avengers they pulled up my file and found out I shouldnât exist, so theyâve been keeping a pretty close eye on me ever since,â
âAh⌠well, next time just donât get caught,â
âNot all of us have the luxury of being able to dodge bullets and outrun law enforcement, Peter. Besides, I like this house and Iâm not quite in the mood to have to abandon it just yet.â
He shrugged. âTo each their own. Now how the hell did you get stuck with me? Were you just the closest or did everybody else refuse,â
âWell, actually I offered to take you in,â
Peter choked on the air. âWhy the hell would you do that?â
She was quick to defend herself, and in a way him too.
âBecause Jimmy is my friend, and when a friend needs a favor I try to help them out. Itâs more than that, though. I wonât lie. Iâm fascinated by you, Peter Maximoff. I find you wonderful exactly how you are and I couldnât stand to let any of the other assholes in New York try to stomp out your personality. Here with me, you can just be you, and knowing that youâre able to be comfortable until we find you a way home was more than enough of a reason for me to volunteer to take you in. Besides, if you werenât with me youâd probably be in the towerâs holding cell, and believe me, that wouldnât be any fun,â
It took Peter a minute to fully digest what he was hearing.
He wasnât going to be a burden. There would be no curfews or screaming matches or long lectures about his chosen pastimes. She wanted every single part of him there and had already gone out of her way to assure him that even the worst of him was welcome under her roof. Even during his time at X-Mansion, he had never been treated like this.
Sure, he had been himself there. People would yell or try to stop him from doing what he wanted but their efforts were futile. He couldnât be tamed. At best the other members of the team had just tried to ignore him until his powers came in handy. He was an annoyance at worst and the household funny guy at best, and yet now a total stranger wanted him around. It took all of Peterâs small reserve of restraint to not take a victory lap around the block there and then.
Being wanted was the best feeling in the world.
When his head cleared, he smiled again. âYou know, when Agent Woo brought me in here I was fully prepared to wait for him to leave then make a run for it, but Iâve decided to save you from the F.B.I.âs wrath and stay for a while instead. Youâre welcome,â
He expected a snappy retort, but instead, her words came out strangely genuine, almost a whisper. Â âThank you for saving me, Peter. I appreciate it,â
âAny time,â
Slowly the flush from before crept back onto her face.
âI know youâre not the type who likes to be tied down, so I wonât keep you here much longer,â she said, before taking Peterâs mug to the sink, âbut there are just a few more things I need to tell you before you go off to do whatever it is you do on a Thursday morning.â
He would never admit it but Peter felt anything but tied down. Instead, he just nodded.
âGo for it,â
She washed the mug as she spoke. âAlright, well first of all whatâs mine is yours. Unless I specifically ask you not to use something you have free reign over whatever you need. You can come and go as you please, I keep odd hours and donât mind a little noise even when Iâm sleeping. The house is pretty simple layout-wise, you can explore whenever you want, but the room at the end of the hallway to your right is my bedroom and Iâd prefer if you didnât go in there unless you need to. Your room is the first door at the left of the stairs on the second floor and⌠well, I think thatâs all,â
There was a sort of sorrow in the womanâs eyes when she stopped, placing the now clean mug on a drying rack before turning to face Peter again. A yearning. It made Peter want to⌠well, he didnât quite know what it made him feel. He just wanted to do whatever would ease the strange pain that resided in his new friend.
He went to speak but nothing came out.
âIs everything okay Peter?â
It was Peterâs turn to flush, face red with shame. âI...uh, well, I wasnât quite paying attention when the agent introduced us. Iâm gonna need to know your name if Iâm living with you,â
It came as no surprise when she laughed gently, making her way across the kitchen towards the living room, passing Peter at the counter on her way. âMy name is Y/N. Itâs nice to finally meet you, Peter,â The strange sorrow was still present, reflected in her words, but it seemed lighter than before, more manageable.
âNice to meet you too Y/N,â
âIâm heading to work,â she pulled on a light jacket as she spoke, âso feel free to explore at your own leisure while Iâm gone. Iâll hopefully be back by 5, but sometimes things run late. Do you need anything while Iâm out?â
Peter shook his head no. âIf I canât find something I need Iâll just run out and grab it myself.
Y/N laughed again. âJust donât get caught, you wonât know the number to call from jail yet,â
âIâm sure Iâll manage,â
She paused, halfway out the door. âOh, and Peter?â
âYeah?â
âWelcome home,â

Blue Hour
A/N: Soooo this is like... the first fanfic Iâve ever written lol, I donât usually write stuff like this, but it was fun! I should have more coming at some point in the future, but for now, hereâs what Iâve got! My other socials are in my bio if you wanna see more of my work!
This fic has been cross posted to AO3 here.
Word count: 10k+
Content: Mutual pining, some light smut?, childhood friends to lovers, some angst, Jimin is either the best or worst life coach, no one is sure which, Hoseok is always drunk but I think heâs neat, Jungkook and Taehyung share one brain cell but itâs shaped like a heart, Shownu best boyÂ
Jungkook is running late.
Heâs rushing to exit his dorm building, not even waiting for the elevator to make it to his floor, rushing down the stairs in hopes that itâll take less time. In his haste, he still manages to have time to regret choosing the top floor of the four story building.
Upon exiting the building, Jungkook takes off in the direction of his lecture, thanking his lucky stars it isnât too far away from where he lives. He weaves his way through other students, trying to cause as little damage while also moving as fast as he can.
At last, heâs made it to the right building, bursting through the first door he sees and hoping heâs in the right place.
When he enters, the class has gone quiet, all eyes turned in the direction of the disturbance. The professor, after giving him a quick once over, decides to let the interruption slide and continue her presentation.
Jungkook makes his way through the lecture hall, hoping his seat hasnât been taken by someone who was actually on time for the class. He breathes a sigh of relief when he sees that no one has taken his beloved spot from him, and plants himself there before moving to pull out his materials.
âDude, what happened to you? I donât think youâve ever been late for anything.â
Jungkook looks up and meets the eyes of his best friend, Taehyung. The two of them go way back, all the way back to middle school when Jungkook had moved from his small town to the big city. After watching the boy desperately try to find a place in a school that was much larger than what he was used to, his constant confusion attracting stares from already established students, Taehyung decided he would help this clueless stranger for as long as he could.
âI mustâve forgotten to set my alarm last night,â Jungkook says, finally pulling out the book he was looking for.
âThatâs not like you. Maybe it was a glitch?â
âMaybe.â
Taehyung turns his head to face the front of the room, having gotten the answers to all his questions. Jungkook follows suit, deciding he should at least pay attention to what was left of the class and hope he could piece the rest of it together on his own.Â
Though, his eyes canât help but drift over occasionally, stealing glances at the boy next to him.
Heâs not sure when it happened, but somewhere along the way, between the late nights watching movies together, Jungkook had fallen for Taehyung. Naturally, he pushed those feelings down, afraid that they may make him act selfishly, or worse, ruin their friendship. As much as he would like for things to turn out like they do in fanfiction, where it turns out the two of them have been pining after each other the whole time, he knows better.Â
So instead, he hides his feelings away, hoping that one day heâll be able to go back to seeing Taehyung as nothing more than a friend. Though, itâs becoming harder to keep his emotions at bay lately. He finds himself relishing in Taehyungâs touch, whether he means to or not. Hugs when something goes good or bad for one of them, touches that last just a bit longer than they would for others, Jungkook takes advantage of each of those little moments.
Even though it causes him to fall deeper each time.
~
Once the lecture ends, the students begin filing out, likely off to more stress-inducing classes. As Taehyung and Jungkook are leaving the building, Taehyung decides this is the perfect opportunity to ask his friend a very important question.Â
âHey, Kook?â Jungkook turns to offer his full attention to his friend. âSo thereâs this party-â
âAbsolutely not.â Taehyung lets out a groan.
âYou didnât even let me finish!â
âTae, you know how I feel about parties.â
âI do! But this one will be different.â
âLast time you said that I ended up carrying you home.â Taehyung scratches the back of his head, recalling the incident himself.
âAh, Iâm a different person now!â Jungkook rolls his eyes. âBesides that was like⌠a year ago?â
âFour months.â
âItâs in the past!â
âBarely.â
âPlease just come this one time? You only have to stay for an hour.â Jungkook stares at him. âDo it for me?âÂ
A sigh leaves Jungkookâs lips.
âOnly for an hour.âÂ
~
Jungkook doesnât even bother putting too much effort into what heâs wearing, throwing on jeans and a T-shirt and deciding itâs presentable enough.
âGood enough to get me bye for an hour,â Jungkook says, looking at himself in the mirror briefly.
As if on cue, Jungkook hears a knock at the door. He exits his room and goes to open the door, revealing a similarly dressed Taehyung. The only real difference lies in the leather jacket Taehyung has thrown over his shoulders.
âYou donât think youâre a bit underdressed?â Taehyung asks, taking in Jungkookâs work, or lack thereof.
âWhatâs wrong with what Iâm wearing?â
âNothing! Nothing,â Taehyung reassures him. âYou look fine. Letâs go.â
The two of them head out, deciding to walk to the party given that itâs relatively close to their campus. As they grow closer to their destination, they can already hear the faint sound of music in the distance. They follow the sound until they arrive at the source of the music.Â
The house, no, the estate, that the party is taking place in is practically vibrating on its foundation as the bass flows through it and out into the air. Thereâs a few people loitering outside, the smell of cigarette smoke and alcohol wafting through the air. Someone is already passed out on the lawn. They likely wonât remember anything once they wake up. Taehyung takes a big inhale.
âI love the smell of regret in the evening.â He turns around to look at Jungkook, who already looks visibly sick as he takes in his surroundings. âHey, are you good?â Jungkook appears to shake himself out of whatever stupor heâs in.
âYeah, yeah Iâm alright,â he says, moreso trying to convince himself than he is trying to convince Taehyung. âJust a little overwhelmed, thatâs all.â
âWill you be alright?â
âI think so. Iâll just find a corner to hide away in.â Though he knows itâs just because heâs a good friend, Jungkookâs heart canât help but flutter at Taehyunsâs concern for him.Â
âNah, you donât have to do that! Iâll stay with you the whole time.â At this, Jungkook gives him an incredulous look. âIâm serious! I want you to have fun, too.â Jungkook considers his words for a moment.
âIf you disappear on me youâre buying me lunch for a week.â
âDeal.â
~
The party is well underway when Taehyung and Jungkook walk in. Bass coming from the speakers pulsates throughout the house. Thereâs a crowd of people on the dance floor, some swaying to the beat, others moving wildly. Itâs not hard to tell who only has a slight buzz and whoâs clearly overdoing it. Jungkook expects to see more people scattered across the lawn by the end of the night. As his eyes continue to sweep over the crowd, taking note of the guy currently hunched over and about to let loose every toxic brew heâd ingested hours prior, he hears a call of his name.
Following the direction of the sound, he turns his head and is met with the sight of a (very drunk) Hoseok.
Hoseok was one of the first people Jungkook had befriended when he first started attending school. When Jungkook had joined the campus dance team, Hoseok had welcomed him with open arms and a warm, inviting smile.
âWhat are you doing here?â Hoseok slurs slightly. âI thought you didnât like coming to these things.â
âI donât,â Jungkook confirms. âIâm here against my will.â
âOh, donât be so dramatic!â Taehyung chimes in. He turns his attention to Hoseok. âI knew heâd just hole himself up in his room all night, so I dragged him out for some fresh air.â
âCalling this air fresh is a little misleading, donât you think?â
âAh, itâs really not that bad!â Hoseok says. âThis is pretty tame compared to other parties here.â Hoseok stumbles a bit, and Jungkook reaches out to steady him.
âHow much have you had to drink?â
âDunno. Stopped counting after four, though.â
âArenât you a bit of a light weight?â
âI donât appreciate being interrogated like this.â Hoseok begins to walk away. âIâm off to get another drink!â
Jungkook watches his friend drunkenly stumble away, presumably to get even more wasted than he already is. He briefly worries if heâll get home safely, but Hoseokâs done this before, heâll be fine.
âWhose house is this, anyway?â Jungkook asks, taking in the valuable looking artwork displayed on the walls.
âKim Seokjinâs.â Jungkook gives him a confused look. âRichest guy on campus. Only met him a couple times, heâs cool.â
Jungkook looks around again.
âIâm only staying for an hour.â Jungkook reminds himself. âI can last that long.â
âYouâll be fine,â Taehyung reassures him. âCome on, Iâll introduce you to my friends.â he takes Jungkookâs hand and drags him further into the party. Jungkookâs lips canât help but turn upwards in a small smile at the gesture.Â
Much to his surprise, Jungkook finds himself getting along with Taehyungâs friends. They seem to be much more outgoing people compared to himself, specifically Taehyungâs friend Jimin. Heâs seen Jimin around a couple times, but never talked to him, the two of them existing in different social circles. It seems that a lot of time has passed since the two of them began talking, when really itâs only been about twenty minutes.Â
Jimin is in the middle of a story, dramatically waving his hands around to add to the narrative, when a song that some of the group, including Taehyung, recognize. Theyâre quick to rush to the dance floor, not wanting to be seated during what is apparantly the most well known song to most of the partygoers. Jungkook supposes he can let this one slide.
Itâs when one song shifts into another, and then another, that Jungkook becomes nervous. Heâs in a strange house surrounded by people he doesnât know, all of which are a different level of inebreiated. He decides to look around for his friend, ready to remind him that heâll now be feeding him for a week.
It doesnât take long for him to locate Taehyung. Heâs still on the dance floor, though he now has a drink in hand. He moves to get his attention when he notes that he isnât dancing alone.Â
Heâs not sure who the guy is, heâs never seen him before right now. He just knows the way he runs his hands along Taehyungâs body, the way they sway sensually to the song currently playing, is making him sick to his stomach.Â
He finds himself running to the door, hoping that Taehyung didnât see him standing there, intruding on the moment he was sharing with this stranger. The longer he stays, the harder he finds it to breathe. He eventually makes it out onto the front porch, catching his breath as if heâs just completed a marathon. Once he calms down, he begins his walk back to the dorm, unable to get the images out of his mind. He checks the time. 10:47 pm.
He didnât even make it the full hour.
~
Like Jungkook often does when heâs upset, he holes himself up in his room. He spends the entirety of the next day hunched over his computer, completing assignments before he turns to video games to ease his mind. While in the middle of a particularly tough fight, his phone dings. He groans before pausing, picking up the device to see who could possibly be disturbing him.
He visibly deflates when he sees that itâs Taehyung.
Not long after he left the party last night, he had seen a flurry of messages sent from the man in question. He elected to ignore them, deciding he had been through enough for one night. Now, though, he feels that he should at least let him know heâs okay and that he made it home safely. Sighing, he opens the text thread.
Tae Tae: Whered u go
Tae Tae: I thought i saw u
Great. So Jungkookâs staring didnât go unnoticed. He drags a hand down his face before he continues reading.Â
Tae Tae: Were u not having fun
Tae Tae: m sorry
Tae Tae: :(
Jungkook finds his resolve cracking, if only a little. That is, until he reads the next message.
Tae Tae: I wanted u to neet someone
Well, this confirms everything he needed to know. His feelings were completely one sided. All the moments he worried he was reading too far into were just that, his own hopes being projected on to his friends. With his heart now heavier than itâs ever been, he finally reads the most recent message, though it barely registers in his mind.
Tae Tae: Hey, Iâm sorry I left you alone last night. Time kind of got away from me, but I wanna make it up to you. Please let me know that youâre safe.
Jungkook finally responds, a half hearted âIâm okay,â and shuts his phone off immediately, not wanting to hear Taehyungâs apologetic messages that likely came in after.
~
Itâs been days since the party, and Taehyung is beginning to worry.Â
He knows he messed up. He knows he promised Jungkook that he wouldnât leave him alone for too long, but he ultimately wasnât able to keep that promise. No, itâs not that he wasnât able to, but rather he didnât.Â
He told himself heâd return to Jungkookâs side after one song. That one song turned into him grabbing a drink, and ending up back on the dance floor with his friends. One more song, one more drink, one more song, one more drink, he cycled through these until an hour had passed since he left. He thought at one point heâd seen Jungkook, watching him in real time as he failed in doing the one thing he promised to do. He thinks now that it was likely just his imagination, his mindâs way of making him feel guilty.Â
He feels that heâs missed an opportunity. He wasnât lying about wanting Jungkook to have a fun night out, that much is true. Heâs always tried to push Jungkook out of his comfort zone from time to time. The other reason, the one he planned on surprising Jerry with, was introducing him to the guy heâd been seeing. Heâd been friends with Shownu for about a year now, and theyâd just recently decided if they wanted to explore being something more.Â
He thought this would be as good an opportunity as any to introduce the two of them, but heâd gotten carried away, and now Jungkook wasnât speaking to him.
He felt a bit better knowing that Jungkook had made it home safely, but the coldness in his answer told him that he wasnât out of the woods just yet. Heâd really messed up this time.
Jungkook wasnât only not speaking to him, he was even avoiding him.
He knows that Jungkook has been going to his other classes, if Jiminâs word is to be trusted, but for some reason heâs been absent in their one shared class. Heâs likely been asking to be sent any work that heâs missed, being one of the proffesorâs favorite students. Itâs unlike him to stay upset for this long. Soemthing mustâve happened before he decided to leave.Â
He decides that today, heâll go and apologize in person. Somtehing he probably shouldâve done in the first place.
He visits Jungkookâs dorm on a Wednesday afternoon, knowing that heâs in between classes right now and likely taking a nap. He makes his way through the small lobby and to the elevator, and suddenly he finds himself getting nervous. What happens if Jungkook doesnât answer the door? Or worse, what if he does answer the door, but tells Taehyung he wants nothing to do with him? Or what if he knocks on his door and it creaks open slightly revealing Jungkookâs lifeless body and he gets framed for his murder only to suddenly be transported back in time-
Taehyung shakes his head. Thatâs the first episode of Erased. Heâs spiralling.
The elevator dings, signalling that itâs almost time to either get his friend back or become the protagonist of an anime.
He should really finish Erased.Â
He makes his way to the dorm, operating purely on muscle memory after having been here so many times. When he arrives, he doesnât bother hesitating, knowing heâll think too hard and talk himself out of doing this, as he often does. He hears shuffling on the other side of the door, and suddenly, it swings open.Â
Taehyung doesnât think heâs ever seen Jungkook in such a disheveled state.
His hair sticks out all over his head, heâs got on sweatpants and a hoodie, covered in wrinkles and mismatched. If Taehyung looks close enough, he can see a slight red tint to the skin around Jungkookâs eyes, signifying heâs been crying.Â
Taehyung feels something within him stir at the sight, but he ignores it.
Jungkookâs eyes are directed at the floor when the door first swings open, and when he looks up to meet Taehyungâs eyes, his own widen in disbelief.Â
They stand there in awkward silence for a few brief moments, not sure how to approach each other after how their last encounter had gone. Jungkook sighs, a tired, sad sound.
âWhy donât you come in?â
~
Jungkook is at a loss for words.
He was fast asleep when heâd heard the knock at the door, the sound waking him from his restless slumber. He drags himself out of bed, tossing on the first hoodie he sees lying in a crumpled heap on the floor, and tosses it on.
Nothing could have prepared him for when he opened the door.Â
Taehyung looks like he usually does, sweats and a hoodie with hair that was perfectly tossed. âPeople like the effortless look,â Taehyung had explained one day. He thinks he understands what he meant now.Â
After the two of them stand there akwardly, not sure where to go from here, Jungkook decides to invite him in. He decides if theyâre going to stare at each other and say nothing, heâd prefer to do so within the comfort of his dorm.
Taehyung seems to look around the room, likely taking note of the mess that Jungkook currently resides in. A wave of insecurity washes over Jungkook at this.
âI wasnât really expecting company,â Jungkook explains weakly.
âI didnât think so,â Taehyung says. âIâm sorry I showed up unannounced like this. Youâve kind of beenâŚâ
âAvoiding you?â
âYeah.â
A beat of silence goes by before Taehyung speaks again.
âLook, I know I said I wouldnât need to-â
âItâs okay.â Taehyung pauses, confused.
âYou didnât even let me finish.â
âI donât need to. Iâve already forgiven you.â
âThen why-â
âI just needed space, thatâs all.â
âSo youâre not mad anymore?â
âNope.â
âPromise?
âYup.â
âDoes this mean I donât still have to buy you food?â
âOh, no. Youâre still buying me food.â The two of them share a laugh. The air feels much lighter than when Taehyung first arrived here.Â
Truth be told, Jungkook had forgiven Taehyung as soon as he opened the door. Heâd started to feel bad about ghosting his friend, knowing that he would worry. He felt even wrose knowing that it wasnât really Taehyung leaving him that had made him so upset, but rather his own feelings that were getting in the way.Â
If putting his own feelings aside would ultimately make Taehyung happy, then thatâs just something he would have to do.Â
Taehyung coaxes Jungkook out of his dorm with the promise of greasy food from the campus diner, and he happily accepts.
~
A week has gone by since the two of them made up.
It hasnât been mentioned yet, but Jungkook has a feeling that Taehyung will ask to introduce him to that other guy again. He knows itâll happen eventually, and despite his dread, he just wishes Taehyung would ask so he can get it over with.
The two of them are at Taehyungâs apartment, claiming to be âstudyingâ when in reality this was just an excuse for them to lounge around and watch reruns of Hellâs Kitchen. Itâs when Taehyung keeps glancing over at Jungkook thinking heâs being subtle that he knows something is up. He grabs the remote and pauses, just as Chef Ramsay has finished calling someone a panini head.
âOkay, youâve been watching me like youâre waiting for me to explode.â Taehyung chuckles, having been caught.
âAlright, you got me. You are so observant, you know that?â
âYouâre stalling.â
âI would never!â Taehyung puts his hand over his heart, feigning offense.
âPlease just spit it out already, you're making me nervous.â
âFine, fine.â Taehyung takes a deep breath. âI want you to come to a bar with me this weekend.â Jungkook opens his mouth to speak, but Taehyung cuts him off. âBefore you argue! Iâve been to the place before, itâs really chill. Itâs like a grill and bar place. Not a lot of people go there, so donât worry about crowds. Itâs totally fine-â
âNow youâre rambling.â
âSorry, sorry. I just really wanted you to be comfortable.â
Itâs a sweet gesture, and Jungkookâs heart flutters against his will. He does his best to ignore it. He pretends to think for a bit about Taehyungâs proposal.
âYou promise weâre not gonna get there and immediately be met with a huge crowd like weâre in some old tv show?â Taehyung lights up.
âIâll see what I can do!â
âThen Iâll be there.â At this, Taehyung lets out a sigh of relief.
âI was worried youâd say no for a second.â Jungkook picks up the remote and resumes the show. âI think you and Shownu will really get along.â
Jungkook freezes. Heâd never heard the other guyâs name before. Now, reality is starting to set in. This is real. Heâs meeting the guy thatâs in the place heâs wanted to be in for such a long time.
He has a feeling he and Shownu will not, in fact, get along.
~
Jungkook doesnât ever think heâs taken longer to get ready for something in his life.
Heâs still going to go, of course. He wouldnât just stand his friend up after he did everything he could to accomodate him and his mildly crippling anxiety. He just wouldnât pretend to be enthusiastic about it. At least, not until he had to.Â
He decides that this time heâll follow Taehyungâs advice, throwing a leather jacket on to add to his otherwise plain outfit. He doesnât know why he does it, maybe just to keep himself grounded, but he finds it comforting in a way. Like when he was a kid and he believed hiding under the blankets would protect him from whatever creatures may be lurking in the night.
Only this time the creatures are his stupid feelings. His stupid feelings which wonât go away no matter how many blankets he piles onto himself to burrow away from them.Â
The universe decides to break him out of the rabbit hole of overthinking he finds himself peering over the edge of, as thereâs a knock on the door.Â
He opens the door and comes face to face with Taehyung once again. He manages to find humor in his current situation, the similarities to the diasastrous night that began all of his inner turmoil uncanny.
âI see you decided to take my advice,â Taehyung remarks, looking at his leather jacket. âIt looks good.â Jungkook offers him a small smile.
âWe should go before the crowd gets there,â Jungkook teases.
âThere wonât be a crowd!â Taehyung says, exasperated. âYou keep talking about them and youâre gonna jinx it.â
âIf it means I get more free food, I think Iâll manage.â Taehyung playfully shoves him, and the two of them head off.
~
The bar doesnât seem particularly busy tonight, much to Jungkookâs delight.
Thereâs a decent amount of cars, but given that itâs a Saturday night it could be much worse.Â
Entering the bar, itâs clear to see that this place is much different compared to the other bars Jungkook has been dragged to over the years. Thereâs tables and booths scattered arund the building, along with an actual bar for the people who would prefer the more traditional experience. Thereâs music flowing through the speakers, much lower in volume compared to the likely heavily packed clubs spread around the city, but still loud enough that the lyrics can be heard. The smell of food floats through the air from the kitchen in the back, the enticing scent having Jungkook almost floating in the air like heâs in a cartoon. Thereâs a few groups of people sitting at the tables and bars, chatting away, others on the small dance floor.
âThis is the nicest place youâve ever taken me to,â Jungkook says as the two of them make their way to an empty booth. âAre you sure weâre allowed in here?â Taehyung chuckles.
âOh donât be like that, the other places werenât even that bad!â Jungkook raises an eyebrow at him. âOkay, they were bad, but I can go to nice places too!â
âA broken clock is right two times a day, I suppose.â Taehyung ignores Jungkookâs thinly veiled insult.
âI invited Jimin to join us as well since you two seemed to get along.â
âFor what?â
âI justâŚâ Taehyung trails off for a second. âI didnât want you to be a tird wheel.â
âOh. Right.âÂ
Jungkook hadnât even considered that before agreeing to come. Heâs glad heâll have at least someone else to focus on to keep him from curling in on himself entirely.
As if on cue, Taehyung spots the two in question and, in an extremely embarrassing fashion for anyone else, waves both his arms at them to catch their attention. Jungkook hides his face, hoping that no one other than the two people now coming over, if Taehyungâs satisfied smile is anything to go by, will recognize him.
âSorry weâre so late! Lots of traffic tonight,â a voice that Jungkook recognizes as Jimin says. Jungkook looks up to greet him, when his eyes drift over to who he assumes is Shownu.
The first thing Jungkook notices about Shownu is that heâs significantly more built than what he was expecting. The second thing he ntoices is that Shownu could easily drop out of college and pursue a modeling career. This is possibly the most beautiful man Jungkook has ever seen, and he finds himself fixing his hair because of it.
Jungkook has already decided that Shownu is his mortal enemy.
~
The animosity doesnât last as long as Jungkook would have liked.
Shownu is funny, well put together, and just an all around nice guy. He does his best to include them all in conversation, and even offered to pay for the first round of drinks.Â
Heâs almost distracted, not expecting to actually enjoy himself tonight, until Shownu plants a kiss on Taehyungâs cheek while Jimin tells a story. He feels his stomach start to turn at the sight, but he does his best to ignore it, not wanting to to ruin everyoneâs mood with his jealousy. Â
The night goes on, the increasing alcohol in his system making Taehyung more and more affectionate as time passes. Heâs leaning on Shownu more now, the latter seeming to enjoy the attention while also signalling to the waitor to serve Taehyung water in place of alcohol.Â
Jungkook sighs. He really canât bring himself to dislike the guy.Â
Taehyung decides that he wants to dance, so he drags Shownu away and begins leading him to the dance floor, a few other couples having moved that way as hell.
Once the two of them leave, Jungkook lets out a breath, now feeling like he can breathe while the two of them are off being all over each other in a place outside of his field of vision.Â
âSo how long have you had feelings for Tae?â Jimin asks casually, taking a sip of his wine as if heâd just made a remark about the weather. Jungkook is, understandably, caught off guard. He does his best to maintain his composure.Â
âWhat are you talking about?â Jungkook says after what felt like way too long to be an honest answer.
âDude, you can drop the act. I wonât tell anyone,â Jimin says. âThough Iâm surprised you havenât told on yourself just yet. Youâve been trying to stare daggers at Shownu since we got here.â
âTrying?â
âYes. And failing. Because you donât even hate Shownu, you barely know him. Youâre just jealous heâs in the position you wish you were.â Jungkook sighs.
âYâknow, I didnât come out tonight to be read like this,â He says with a chuckle.
âItâs part of my charm. Consider me your traumatizing life coach.â
âDid you steal that from a TikTok?â
âHey, Iâm the one doing the reading here.â The two of them share a laugh. âBut between you and me,â Jimin starts, suddenly sounding serious, âI donât think their relationship will really go anywhere.â Jungkookâs interest has peaked now, and he turns to face Jimin fully.
âWhat makes you say that?â
âCanât say. Iâm sworn to secrecy.â Jimin thinks for a moment. âBesides, itâs best you donât hear it from me. It would probably cause chaos otherwise.â
âYouâre beginning to worry me.â
âAlso part of my charm.â
âIs Shownu likeâŚ. A murderer or something?â Jimin shakes his head, an amused smile gracing his features. âA bank robber? A secret agent?â Jungkook goes silent for a moment, and then gasps. âIs the government after him for committing tax faud?â Jimin begins to laugh.
âNah, nothing as interesting as any of those.â Jimin says, and then leans in. âHeâs an alien.â When Jungkookâs eyes widen, Jimin laughs again. âIâm kidding! Just kidding. Heâs just a normal guy.â
âShould I just move on then?â Jungkook asks, his cheerful demeanor starting to fade away.
âThatâs up to you to decide,â Jimin says. âBut.. donât lose hope just yet. Thatâs all I can tell you.â Jungkook sighs for the umpteenth time tonight. âCome on, Iâll take you home.â
âBut what about-â
âTheyâll be fine. They probably wonât even notice weâre gone.â
The two of them wave a passing waitress over to pay their tab, and head out the door.
The drive is quiet, save for the soft melody coming from the radio. They arrive at Jungkookâs dorm and, though the end of the night left him confused, he still had a good time. He thinks he and Jimin will be really good friends one day. When he opens the dorm of the car, he turns to face Jimin.
âHey, um,â Jungkook starts, âthanks for talking to me.â
âAh, no problem,â Jimin insists. âIâll see you around, yeah?â Jungkook nods before stepping out of the car and heading to the dorm, thoughts floating through his head as he tries to figure out what Jimin knows about Shownu and Taehyungâs relationship that he doesnât.
Unbeknownst to Jimin and Jungkook, Taehyung did, in fact, notice that the two of them had left together, if the tears that flowed so freely were anything to go by.
~
The next week, classes are cancelled, most buildings on campus are closed, save for the necessities like the dorms and dining hall, and people all over campus have either gone home or decided to hibernate in their dorms.
Thereâs a winter storm coming.
The snowfall predicted is said to be a few feet at least, and the roads will be iced over. Campus slowly becomes a ghost town, with no one wanting to be trapped in their tiny dorms under these conditions.Â
Jungkook opts to stay put where he is. He likes the idea of there being significantly less people around, snow falling and turning the once boring school into a winter wonderland. It reminds him of when he was a kid, and he would get to stay home and play in the snow, until his mom would call him inside, worried he would get sick.Â
Heâs in the middle of a game now, deciding today was a good day to do the most challenging levels of Super Mario Maker he could find, when he hears his phone ding on his bed. The noise distracts him, causing him to fall into an awaiting pit of lava, the sound signalling his characterâs demise mocking him.Â
He turns around to grab the device, lighting the screen up and revealing a text from Taehyung.
Tae Tae: Wanna go get lunch?
Jungkook is about to type out his response when another message comes through.
Tae Tae: Youâre never gonna beat that level
Tae Tae: Too many trick moves
Jungkook is almost shocked that Taehyung knows what heâs up to, before remembering heâd been struggling with this particular level for weeks now and had made that fact very known. He begins typing out his response.
Kook: Iâll have you know Iâm an expert gamer
Kook: Where we meeting up?
They end up going to the same diner they went to just last week, having already formed an addiction for the unhealthy food they have to offer.
âI donât think Iâve ever seen this much snow in my life,â Taehyung says after theyâve placed their orders.
âMe either. Normally I like the cold but I think even I have my limits.â Taehyung laughs.
âMan, weâre getting old huh? Weâre sitting here talking about the weather. I thought we had at least another ten years before we got to this point.â Itâs Jungkookâs turn to laugh now.
âOnly ten?â
âMaybe not. I did just have to drag you away from a video game.â
âThereâs no age limit on video games!âÂ
âYeah, yeah. Iâve heard this rant before.âÂ
âYou keep calling me out and youâll hear it again.â The two share a laugh.Â
âDo you ever miss being a kid?â Taehyung asks, suddenly sounds serious.
âWho wouldnât? I didnât even know student debt existed when I was a kid, now look at me drowning in it.â
âYeah, thatâs true,â Taehyung says, then pauses. âBut what about like, I dunno, feelings and stuff?â This catches Jungkookâs attention.
âWhat like, hormones and stuff?â Taehyung chuckles.
âKind of. Like, the only emotions we understood as kids were like anger and sadness and sadness. But not even like, fully either.â
âI think I get what you mean. When did things get so complicated?â
âExactly. Everything used to be so simple.â
The two of them sit in silence for a moment. Neither of them usually discuss things like this with each other. Something has shifted between the two of them, thought what that shift might be, neither is sure. This is new territory for them, so neither is sure how to go about such a seemingly sudden change.
âYâknow,â Taehyung starts, âeven with everything thatâs changed, Iâm glad youâve stuck with me throughout all of it.â
âOf course I did,â Jungkook responds immediately. âHow could I not after you were pretty much my guide throughout middle school?â
âYou were wandering the halls looking for your next class for three days! I couldnât just leave you hanging like that.â
âI totally couldâve managed.â
âAnd youâre also totally gonna beat that level youâve been struggling with.â
âI was close!â Jungkook says, dramatically slamming his hands on the table. âI was so close, but then you dragged me away.â
âOh sure, blame your lack of skills on me.â
The two of them continue to banter and bicker with each other, and things feel like they always did between the two of them. When their food arrives, they immediately begin trying to catch the food in their mouths, tossing it to each other and keeping score, and it feels like theyâre back in middle school.
It feels like everything is simple again.
~
Once the two of them leave the diner, having filled themselves with unhealthy food that theyâll definitely regret later, they begin the trek back to Jungkookâs dorm. On the way, they pass by the schoolâs fountain at the center of campus. Itâs frozen over now, coins that students tossed in for good luck rest at the bottom of the ice.Â
âThink we could break this and make some money?â Taehyung asks.
âItâs probably mostly pennies. Would it even be worth all the trouble?â Jungkook responds, looking into the fountain and examining the copper toned coins frozen in place.Â
âWhereâs your sense of adventure?â Taehyung is turned away from Jungkook now, but goes unnoticed as Jungkook continues his search. He spots an old band aid among the coins, scrunching his nose in disgust.
âThe same place the coins are.â He looks up and sees Taehyung is facing away from him, but thinks nothing of it. âYour ideas of adventure usually end with us getting in trouble anyway. Youâd be in jail by now if it werenât for-â
Jungkook is cut off when a snowball is hurled at him, hitting the side of his face. He looks up immediately, meeting the mischievous eyes of his best friend.Â
âWhat? Too mature for a snowball fight?â
âYou donât know what youâve done.â
Jungkook scoops up snow and begins forming it in no time, and Taehyungâs eyes widen in fear.Â
Itâs not long before a war has broken out in the quad. They throw what feels like hundreds of snowballs between the two of them, laughing and screaming with delight as they do so. Eventually, the two of them tired themselves out, lying next to each other and laughing, the absurdity of their impromptu snowball fight finally setting in.
âWe havenât hung out like this in such a long time,â Jungkook says through giggles.
âYea, itâs been so long. Iâve missed you over the past week,â Taehyung agrees.
âIâve missed you, too.â Jungkook says. The next part, he lets slip out on accident, lowering his voice so that Taehyung canât hear him. âI love you.â
He didnât lower it enough.
âWhatâd you just say?â
Jungkookâs stomach drops. He couldnât have heard him. He didnât.
âI just said I missed you.â
âNo, no. You said something after that.âÂ
âI think youâre just hearing things. Did you get snow in your ears?â
âJungkook.â
âI have to go.â
Jungkook stands from his spot and adjusts his jacket. Before he can make his escape and regret every life choice that brought him to this moment, he feels a tug on his arm.
âSay it again.â
âNo. Please let me go.â He refuses to turn around and face Taehyung, and something in his chest aches at the realization.
âDonât leave.â Jungkook says nothing, but he doesnât move to get away either.Â
âI need to go.â
âYou donât.â
âYes I do!â Jungkook yells, catching both of them off guard. âI canât be around you. Not when Iâve felt like this for years.â Jungkook finally turns to face Taehyung, tears streaking down his face. âNot when Iâm watching you fall for someone else. Someone who isnât me.âÂ
Taehyung finds his hold on Jungkookâs arm is weakening, and he lets Jungkook walk away.Â
Jungkook starts back on his way to his dorm, moving quickly, hoping that the faster he got to his drm the faster the embarrassment he felt would disappear. Taehyungâs touch, he found, burned against his skin, completely different from the gentle warmth heâd grown accustomed to. Taehyung would go to Shownu, and after some time, heâd forget about Jungkook. Thatâs what he believed.
He would never know that Taehyung stayed frozen in place as he watched Jungkookâs retreating form, tears of his own staining his face.
~
Taehyung has lost track of how long itâs been since that fateful day in the snow.
A few days? A week? Two weeks? Heâs honestly not sure anymore.Â
Jungkookâs confession had woken up so many things in him at once. Sadness upon realizing that his friend has been holding onto those feelings fornsuch a long time. Guilt knowing that heâd essentially been flaunting his new relationship in his face, blatantly letting his friend know that he wasnât interested in the most callous way he could do so. The worst part, though?
It had brought back old feelings heâd thought he had moved on from.
There was a time where Taehyung was certain that he and Jungkook would end up together at some point. The two of them were inseperable from the time they first became friends to a few weeks ago. It always made sense to him that they would get together and stay that way for a long time.Â
But things didnât work out that way.
Taehyung had taken Jungkookâs shyness about the subject of them as a silent rejection. As a result, heâd told himself he had to move on from him, and for a while, he did. That is, until theyâd started college together.Â
Once their environment had changed, Taehyung had noticed a change in Jungkook..
He was still averse to parties, that was still the same. But heâd grown more confident in himself. Heâd been exploring different hobbies, started getting tattoos like he always talked about doing, heâd even joined a few clubs. Even with his newfound confidence, he was still the same boy that Taehyung had helped create a place for when they were kids.Â
Against his better judgement, Taehyung found himself falling for him again.Â
He thought that now, since heâd grown as a person, surely now he would confess his feelings. But the confession never came, and Taehyung had to once again push his feelings away. This is when Shownu came in.Â
Originally, they were just friends with benefits. No strings attached, they had agreed. They got along quite well, and that was all there was to it.
But Taehyungâs feelings for Jungkook still lingered, and he decided he needed to take it a step further.
He was thankful that Shownu had been okay with getting to know each other outside of the bedroom. Eventually, the guilt of using Shownu for his own reasons had started to eat away at him. He was leading someone else on but he couldnât stop himself from doing it.
But when heâd noticed that Jungkook and Jimin left together that night at the bar, the dam broke.Â
That night, heâd told Shownu everything. The years of pining that had resulted in nothing, the reason heâd started their arrangement, everything, and Shownu had been nothing but understanding.Â
So here he was now. Cooped up in his room, sittting with the fact that heâd been casuing his friend so much strife, all because of his own selfishness. Even now knowing Jungkookâs feelings, he fears that heâs messed up too many times for them to ever have something more than they already do.
Heâs in the midst of wallowing in self pity when he hears a knock at the door.
âItâs open,â he says, refusing to leave from the cocoon of blankets heâs buried himself in.
The door creaks open slowly, and Jimin walks in, rattling a bag of food like someone would do for their pet cat.
âIâve got a piping hot bag of bad decisions with me,â Jimin says, approaching the vaguely human shaped pile he believes is his friend. Taehyung grumbles in response. âStill haventâ heard from Jungkook?â
âNo.â
âYou gonna reach out to him?â
âNo.â
âYou gonna stay in here and watch Bob Ross painting videos instead of facing your fears head on?âÂ
âYup.â Jimin sighs.
âYou two are very similar, you know that?â Taehyung says nothing. âYou guys really need to talk about⌠whatever it is youâve got going on. Thatâs the main problem here.â
âWhat good will that do?â Taehyung asks, irritation present in his voice. âHe probably hates me. And I donât even blame him.âÂ
âWell, at least weâve crossed that bar.â Taehyung glares at him. âYouâre not the only one at fault here, though. He bottles his feelings up as much as you do.âÂ
âSo what am I supposed to do, Jimin?â a sniffle. âI donât know what to do anymore.â
Jiminâs heart aches at the pain in Taehyungâs voice. He doesnât think heâs ever seen the younger boy so distraught. He moves to comfort him, placing a hand on Taehyungâs back to try to calm him down, if even a little.Â
âIâm not sure,â Jimin says. âI think right now you should be honest with him. I think at this point, all he needs is for you to tell him how you really feel.â
âDo you think itâs that easy?â
âI do.â
Taehyung considers this for a moment. If heâd been honest from the beginning, years ago even, they wouldnât be here. He just hopes that later is better than never.Â
âOkay. Then thatâs what Iâll do.â Jimin smiles at him.Â
âGood. Now move over, Bob Rossâ voice eases the troubles of my soul.â
âWhat troubles do you have?â
âTwo idiots not knowing how to communicate.â
âYouâre sitting on the floor.â
~
Jungkook has never felt embarrassment as intensely as he does now.Â
Itâs been long enough that any other person likely wouldâve moved on, but this wasnât something as simple as dropping your lunch plate in the middle of the cafeteria and having the entire room clap. Been there, done that.
Heâd confessed to his best friend of several years that heâs in love with him. His best friend who he knew was seeing someone, at that.Â
Heâs locked himself in his dorm once again, not even bothering to distract himself. Instead, he opts to just lie in bed and think about where everything had gone wrong in his life over the past few weeks.Â
Maybe he shouldnât have let Taehyung talk him into going to that party. What if he hadnât gone looking for Taehyung when he disappeared that night? Perhaps he shouldnât have forgiven him so easily. He knew that last one wasnât an option, though. He wouldâve softened up eventually.
Now, things are different. He was okay with livivng with his feelings knowing that they would nver be reciprocated. He would still have Taehyung as a friend, and if he was happy, that would be enough for him, even if he wasnât the one making him happy.Â
Heâs been getting a lot of texts from Hoseok recently, likely wondering why he hasnât been showing up to practices. Jungkook takes advantage of the weather conditions, claiming to have gotten sick. Hoseok had believed him at first, but the longer time passed, the more suspicious he got.Â
Jungkook has sent a couple messages in response, assuring him that everything would be okay, along with other vague promises.Â
Heâs not sure what to do at this point. Maybe he hopes Jimin really has been lying so he can move on properly. He wouldnât be shocked if Shownu showed up to beat him up at some point. He supposes he deserves it. Shownu hasnât done anything wrong, and now heâs in the middle of this mess.
While Jungkook begins to spiral from regret to guilt, thereâs a knock at the door. This time, heâs a lot less willing to deal with whatever this could be.
âGo away, no oneâs here,â Jungkook says halfl heartedly.
âHmmm, alrighty then,â a voice he recognizes as Hoseok says. âI guess Iâll take my snacks and Marvel movie box set elsewhere!â Jungkookâs eyes widen.
âFine, itâs open.âÂ
Hoseok walks in, a smug smile on his lips.Â
âKnew that would work.â He places his bags down before taking a seat at Jungkookâs desk, turning to face him. âSo whatâs up with you?â
âI told you, Iâm sick.â
âIf you were sick you wouldnât have let me in.â
âMaybe Iâm in the mood to infect someone.â
âYou also get sassier when youâre lying.â
âI have no idea what youâre talking about.â
The two of them stare at each other, waiting for the other to break. A few more seconds go by.
âIf I talk can we watch Iron Man first?â Jungkook says, not enjoying the silence in the room.
âYes.â Jungkook sighs.
âAlright.â
Jungkook tells Hoseok everything, starting from how they met in middle school all the way up to what happened that day in the quad. He tells him about all the time they spent together in high school, how they had gone to prom with a group and ended up alone together in a park from their childhoof at the end of the night. He went through the details of Taehyung getting his first apartment, and how Jungkook had spent the first night there with him.Â
He talks for about an hour, and Hoseok lets him talk, not wanting to interrupt what appears to be the retelling of happy memories. Up until the current events that have him hiding out in his room, that is.Â
Itâs only when Jungkook finishes that Hoseok decides to speak.
âIt sounds like you love him a lot,â he says.
âI do,â Jungkook says. âI really do.â
âBut it also sounds like he loves you, too.â
âOkay now youâre just making up things to say.â
âNo, Iâm serious. If what youâve told me really did happen then it sounds like heâs just as ass over tits in love with you as you are with him.â
âDonât you mean head over heels?â
âI know what I said.â
âBut that canât be right. He literally invited me on a date with Shownu.â
âAre you sure that night was for Shownu? He went out of his way to find a place you would find the most comfortable. Did he even once mention Shownu liking the place when he was telling you about it?âÂ
Jungkook thinks about this for a moment. He remembers Taehyung ensuring that he would have fun, that this was the most comfortable place for him. Heâd even invited Jimin out to ensure he wouldnât feel left out at any point.Â
âI mean, I guess. But I think he was just afraid Iâd cut him off if he dragged me to some noisy club.âÂ
âMaybe it was both?â
âMaybe. But thereâs definitely something there. I know there is.â
âAnd if there is? What do I do then? Iâve already confessed to him. On accident, like a moron.â
âWell, you already know how you feel. You just gotta wait for him to figure his feelings out.â
âAnd if he figures out he feels nothing for me?â
âThen you move on. You deserve to be happy too, you know. You shouldnât have to hurt yourself just to keep him happy. If he was ever your friend heâll understand that and respect whatever decision you make.â
Jungkook considers his friend's words. Itâll hurt, but if this is what causes the end of a precious friendship, then this is where it ends. He does a lot for other people, never thinking of how that could benefit him. But maybe itâs time for him to do that. At least once.
âOkay.â
âOkay?â
âYeah. Iâll just have to wait until I hear from him again. And when the time comes to make a decision, Iâll know which one I need to make.â
Hoseok stands from where heâs sitting and crosses the small distance between the two of them, wrapping his arms around Jungkookâs frame. Jungkook returns the gesture.
âThanks for being here, Hobi.â
âDonât worry about it, Iâm always here if you need me.â
âCan we watch Iron Man now? That was emotionally exhausting.â
âYou do know that Iron Man-â
âOne emotional outburst at a time, please.â
~
Jungkook is feeling much better these days.
He still hasnât heard from Taehyung, but thatâs okay. Heâll reach out when heâs ready.
The school has reopened, the storm finally passing and the ice starting to melt. Life slowly but surely trickles back onto campus, musch like the way the fountain in the quad has begun to flow like it used to.Â
Itâs when Jungkook is heading back to the dorm to change for practice that he recieves a message heâs been both apprehensive about and excited to recieve.
Tae Tae: Can you come to my apartment tonight? I think itâs time we talked.
Jungkook doesnât hesitate to answer this time.
Kook: No problem, Iâll see you then.
~
âYou sure youâll be okay?â Hoseok asks from the driverâs seat of his car.
âYea, Iâm sure. Iâll just catch a bus if things go bad.â
âDo not do that. Call me if you need to.â
âOkay dad, anything else?â
âRemember what we talked about.â
âI will.â
Jungkook gets out of the car and makes his way to the door. He turns around before knocking, seeing Hoseok shoot him a thumbs up to cheer him on. Jungkook turns around, takes a deep breath and knocks on the door. Almost immediately, the door swings open, scaring him.
âWere you like, right by the door?â Jungkook asks, obviously startled.
âYeah. Sorry, I was just nervous.â He peaks over Jungkookâs shoulder and spots Hoseok in the driveway. Taehyung waves at him, which Hoseok mimics before he pulls away. âDo you wanna head in?â
âThatâs probably for the best. Itâs still pretty cold out here.â
Jungkook lets Taehyung lead him to the living room, despite having already been here more times than he can count. They sit on opposite ends of the couch, not sure how to start after how they left things the last time they saw each other.
âSo, um,â Taehyung starts, âhowâve you been?â
âOh, god, can we please skip the awkward small talk? My head might explode,â Jungkook says, chucling slightly.
âSorry,â Taehyung says. âIâm just not sure where to start.â
âDo you want me to go first?â
âPlease?â Jungkook nods. âIâm sorry.â
âItâs okay. Iâm nervous too.â He takes a deep breath. âWell, I think itâs safe to say we both know how I feel about you.â Taehyung nods. âItâs okay that you donât feel the way that I do. You arenât obligated to do so just because weâve known each other for so long.â He pauses. âBut I wonât pretend this isnât hurting me. I canât keep doing that to myself. Iâll do my best to hold on to our friendship but it becomes too much for me⌠then Iâll just have to go.â
Taehyung can only stare at him in shock. He canât believe the words that heâs hearing right now.
âYou think⌠that I donât feel the same about you?âÂ
âI mean⌠you didnât say anything when I confessed to you.â
âYou kinda caught me off guard.â
âThat makes two of us.â
âBut thatâs actually what I invited you over to talk about.â A pause. âIâve been in love with you since high school.â Jerryâs eyes widen. âMaybe even before that.â
âWait, but what about-â
âShownu? I just started hooking up with him to try to get over you. We just tried the dating thing to see where he would go.â
âSo you guys are-â
âBroken up? Yeah, we split after that night at the bar.â Jungkook is about to ask another question, and this time Taehyung beats him to it. âI kinda thought you left with Jimin so you guys could⌠you know.â
âWhy the hell would you think that?â
âIn my defense Iâd had a lot to drink that night.â
âYou seem to do that a lot.â
âSo I like a good cocktail, sue me!â
âYou like several good cocktailsâ
The air feels significantly lighter than it had when they first sat down, now that their feelings are out in the open. The silence that settles over them after a bit more bantering is comfortable. Theyâve moved closer to each other now as they catch each other up on everything theyâve been up to.Â
Jungkook decides he canât help himself.
âCan I kiss you?â
Taehyung pauses immediately. He thinks heâs misheard him at first, until he sees Jungkookâs eyes flicker down to his lips. Heâs certain his voice will betray him as soon as he speaks, so he decides to nod instead.Â
Slowly, agonizingly slowly, they inch closer to one another.
When their lips finally connect, there are no fireworks. It doesnât feel like time has stopped around them, and it doesnât feel like the rest of the world has faded away and theyâre the only ones left.
It feels like coming inside and having hot chocolate after playing in the snow all day. It feels like your parents cooking your favorite meal after youâve had a hard day. It feels like putting on an old, worn pair of shoes after spending the day trying to break in a new pair all day.
Kissing Taehyung feels like home.
One kiss turns into two, which melts into five, and eventually the two of them find themselves unable to separate from one another. Jungkook pushes Taehyung down until his back meets the cushion of the sofa, and Taehyung allows him to do so. Jungkookâs dragging his hands wherever he can reach, wanting to memorize every detail of Taehyungâs body. Taehyung slides his hands under Jungkookâs shirt, drawing small shapes in his skin.Â
Itâs when Jungkook grinds his hips into Taehyungâs by mistake, a whimper being ripped from Taehyungâs throat because of it, that they realize the compromising position theyâre in. Jungkook pulls away, his eyes drifitng down to Taehyungâs kiss swollen lips.
âDo you want to-â
âYes.â Jungkook blinks.
âYou didnât even let me-â
âDonât need to. Iâve been waiting for this for years.â
âI just donât wanna hurt you.â
âOoooh, you think you could?â Jungkook squints at him.
âYou think I canât?â
âIâm just saying, Iâve been with a lot of guys-â
âCan we please not talk you hooking up with other guys when Iâm on top of you-â
â-and only one has ever been able to make me cry.â
âWait, who?â Taehyung freezes.
âForget I said anything,â he tries to lean up to kiss him again, but Jungkook pushes him back down immediately.
âTell me who it was.â
âBut-â
Now.â Jungkookâs demeanor has changed completely, but Taehyung canât help but continue to tease him.
âHmm I canât seem to remember his name now. How odd! Bizarre, evenâ
âTaehyung.â
âFine, youâre no fun. It was Shownu.â Jungkook tenses up. âItâs fine, donât worry if you canât-â
âAre you challenging me?â
âMaybe a little.â
Jungkook captures Taehyungâs lips again, much more vigorously than he had before. He grinds into Taehyung again, his movements deliberate, rough. The action elicits another sound from Taehyungâs lips, and Jungkook wishes he could make it his ringtone.
âBe careful what you wish for, baby boy.â
Itâs not long before clothes are shed, scattered about the apartment in a careless fashion. They continue their minstrations, touches evolving into grabbing, light whimpers turning into loud moans.
Sounds of skin slapping against skin bounce off every wall of the apartment. Breathy moans and whines blend together, creating a symphony of pleasure between the two of them. They continue on until the wee hours of the morning, their bodies having grown slick with sweat.
Jungkook is the second person to ever make Taehyung cry.
~
The following weekend, thereâs another party held at Kim Seokjinâs house.Â
Taehyung convinces Jungkook once again to go with him, promising they could leave whenever he was ready.Â
Jungkook is much more confident now, his arm slung over Taehyungâs shoulder as the two of them walk in. Mirroring the last time, Hoseok spots the two of them immediately when they walk in. Much like last time, heâs drunk.
âJungkook! You came! I havenât seen you in so long.â
âYou saw me two days ago.â
âExactly. Thatâs practically years!â He leans in closer to try, and fail,to whisper to Jungkook. âSo whatâs up with him.â He very blatantly gestures to Taehyung, whoâs watching the two of them interact, amusement written all over his features.Â
âThings are good. Weâre good.â Hoseok smiles before directing his attention to Taehyung.
âIf youâd hurt him I swear I wouldâve destroyed you.â
âYou cried in the mall because a bunch of middle school kids tripped you and called your shoes stupid.â
âMiddle schoolers are mean, man.â Hoseok hears someone call his name somewhere in the distance, and stumbles in that direction.
âIs he gonna be plastered every time we meet?â Taehyung asks, watching as Hoseok turns to wave goodbye to them.
âHonestly? Probably.â
They find their way to the same area they had been the last time they were last time, occupied by the very same people as well. This time, Shownu sits among them. For the first time tonight, Jungkook feels nervous. Shownu sees the two of them coming and waves them over.Â
âHey, Jungkook! Havenât seen you in a while.â
âYea, Guess it has been a long time.â A beat of silence. âListen, I-â
âNo no, donât you dare apologize. Itâs completely fine. I didnât expect things to get serious anyway.âÂ
âAre you sure? Because-â
âNo, really. Iâm completely fine. Iâm glad you two are happy.â He smiles, and Jungkook returns it.Â
He decides he thinks Shownu is actually a pretty cool guy.
Taehyung and Jungkook stay for a while, laughing and talking with the other people seated in the area. Taehyung eventually begins drinking to the point of heavy intoxication, as he often does, and Jungkook opts to take him home. They say their goodbyes, and Jungkook carries Taehyung out on his back and all the way back to campus.Â
Though itâs only been about a month since they were last here, the walk home makes Jungkook feel nostalgic. The night that had ended so badly for him had resulted in a whirlwind of emotions and unfortunate events. Even so, he thinks heâd do it all over again if he had the chance.Â
He glances over his shoulder and is met with the sleeping face of Taehyung, him having dozed off halfway through the walk home. As he gazes at the view before him he thinks yes, he absolutely would go through all of that again.Â
As long as he ended up with Taehyung in the end, he would do anything.Â

Whatever It Takes
Sequel to A Forgotten Memory
Roach's stealth skills are put to the test as he sneaks past an alleged Augustus base to capture him and gather intel about the recent EMP based attacks. Will Roach be able to impress Captain Price?

Chapter 9 to another story made by Ray (echo-three-one) Comments and Reviews appreciated! I hope you enjoy! Love you all â¤ď¸
"A SurPRICE Visit"
Gary 'Roach' Sanderson
Task Force 141
400 meters outside Augustus' Mountain Base
Germany
The winds were picking up when they landed and Roach flew about a few more meters away from Price.
"This EMP blast is messing with my signals. Captain, can you find Roach?" Ghost spoke over comms, his voice crumbled over the static.
"He landed not too far from me. Come on boy, let's get a head on." Price replied to Ghost as he helped Gary get up and untangle himself from his mess. Gary nodded and followed his Captain into the edge of the mountain.
"There it is. Augustus' base." he mused as Gary scoped through his supressed silencer. Trucks were leaving the area filled with armed hostiles.
"Ghost, you see this? They're leaving the hive." Price informed the recon man.
"Aye, sir. Looks like they're headed to Alex's direction. If we time this right you'll have less people inside there." he replied. Gary wondered why they were leaving. It didn't make sense to back-up an already reclaimed base back at Alex's.
"Let's go Roach. I'll take the one on the left tower, you take the one on the right. I'm currently spotting four Tangos by the gate. Fire when ready." Price instructed. Roach took a deep breath to steady his sights, quickly pulling the trigger once the crosshairs aligned with their heads.
"Good kill. Your sniper skills are improving, Sargeant." Price mused as he signaled them to move forward. For a Captain who's left him a solid first impression as a strict angryman, Roach didn't expect the kind words from him. It almost felt overwhelming.
"You go ahead and take what's important inside that guardhouse. I'll cover you from this position." he commanded and Gary sprung safely into action, switching to his suppressed pistol and into the guardhouse.
It was simple, a few cameras, some photos of people who they let in and a few map layouts. Gary quickly snapped all of them for Ghost to see. Roach also grabbed the radio and placed it near his ear. Gary set his sights on an AK-47 lying on the ground.
"Roach, be careful when using unsuppressed weapons. It might reveal our existence." Price muttered to which he nodded. It just made sense.
"Jäeger, kopierst du?" the radio muttered. Roach's German wasn't on point and any non-reply from the other end would result in an investigation.
"Ja, alles klar." he replied, trying to replicate the accent. There was no more reply on the other side which meant Gary actually nailed his reply.
"Captain, behind that door is heavily guarded. I suggest a reroute to the back door just a few meters east of your position. This isn't Augustus' base, it's a remote research facility studying plant life by the border and he seemed to take it over." Ghost informed after gathering the photos, Gary waited on the edge of the wall covering his Captain's six. The duo proceeded as suggested and climbed over an unguarded fence.
"We're at a greenhouse. Labeled 6." Price whispered.
"Do you see any cameras?" Ghost asked.
"Yeah. Looking at the plants." he muttered.
"Circle around it and find cover behind the safehouse labeled 5. If my German is correct, the central area should have 2 scientists on their way in there." Ghost informed.
"Right on schedule." Price nodded to Roach as they both knocked them down quietly and non-lethally as they were civilians. Gary quickly slung his weapon and hid it behind the huge white lab coat the both of them now wore.
"Keep your weapons hidden, until I say so. Okay?" Price said as he pulled the bodies somewhere hidden. Gary nodded as they confidently waltzed inside the base, using their fake ids pinned on their coats for entry.
Gary watched a lot of sci-fi fics and most of them depicted labs as white walled, glass-divided rooms with hundreds of scientists working on some random machineries. Except here, it's plants. It seemed normal as if they infiltrated the wrong base. Price seemed to worry too, his steps were further apart and he seemed to be in a hurry. They were losing hope on a lead, until one armed guard, different from those outside started climbing up the stairs.
"Finally. Some good news." Price muttered as they made their way up the stairs.
"Authorized personnel only." an armed guard stood by the steps blocking the duos way. It was too crowded and too risky to engage him and press through and they both needed a new plan.
"Es tut mir leid." Gary replied as he pulled Price to the restrooms.
"It's no use. We can't go guns ablazing right here." he noted to his Captain.
"Bollocks." he cursed.
"We need a diversion." He added.
"Way ahead of you, Sir." Gary smirked and showed him his c4 trigger, pushed it and an explosion followed.
"Nice. By the guard house?" Price asked while they waited for reinforcements to assist the blast.
"Yeah."
"Quick thinking lad. I like that."
Several armed men came rushing down the stairs, yelling in a different language, all going to the exit. They stomped to the stairs and carefully breached the second floor of the building, shooting armed tangos using suppressed weapons. They had to act fast and stomp on their comms as soon as they're down so that the others outside will not fall back.
Ten guards were left behind to protect the second floor, and with the help of stealth, Gary and Price took them out smoothly. All that's left are the intel waiting to be harvested.
Gary snapped all possible evidence, every nook and cranny was investigated while Price tapped his heavy fingers on the keyboard.
"Looks like they're going large. They're planting something by the major cities cell towers. Here's one in Berlin." he muttered, printing a copy of the blueprints.
"Price! R-ch" Ghost's static crackled across their comms.
"Th- found- guards!
Get. Out. There. NOW." he added.
"Kill every civilian in there. That will let our little friends out of the shadows. I know they're after usâŚ" a menacing voice said over Roach's stolen receiver.
"Shite. They're killing civvies." Gary said, worried.
"I'm sorry Roach. But we can't save them. It's a trap. Now protect that camera and let's get the fuck out of here." Price consoled as they continued pressing on toward the exit.
Screaming people followed by gunshots echoed across the white halls of the research facility, Gary didn't want to look back, Gary didn't want to hear any more screaming but it was all around him. Whoever commanded this act to be done must be eradicated from this world.
LOCAL MILITIA SETTLEMENT
Alex greeted the duo as soon as they stepped inside the village. It felt lively as everyone was celebrating their victory.
"Captain." Alex nodded and Price returned the gesture with a handshake.
"This is Blitz. Their leader." he added, introducing the man to Price.
"Thank you for helping us." Price acknowledged.
"No. Thank you for helping us. You have good men fighting for a good cause." he remarked, nodding at Alex and Gary. Gary also got acquainted with the leader, exchanged a few words and got offered soup.
"Tough day, huh?" Alex nudged over Gary, who's still sad about the situation earlier.
"You and me, both." Gary muttered as Alex patted his shoulder.
"We'll get him soon enough, Roach. Justice will be served." Alex consoled as Gary took a deep sigh.
"They're planting EMP bombs on major cell towers. Maybe incorporating it with them to perform large scale blasts." Gary pondered, taking a sip off the delicious soup.
"Yeah. That's our go signal. It's now a terror activity. Imagine a day without communication. International trade would crumble." Alex explained to which Gary nodded in agreement.
"Global cripple. People's minds get hurt, Economy gets hurt and we aren't focused enough to defend ourselves."
"That's what he's up to." Gary finished.
"And we have to stop it. Whatever It Takes." Alex looked at Gary with determination, that kind of pep talk that makes him a little less sad.
"Yeah." Gary agreed.
~
Another briefing, but this time, it was going somewhere. Operation Burn, the task is to eliminate Nero and all his allies, if possible. Funny enough, the real Nero burned everyone else. Whoever thought of this name was smart enough to connect the dots.
There's another person added to the team, the redhead leather jacket agent, Alexandra Ryder. An interpol agent tasked to destroy all traces of said EMP machinery. She looks tough, acts tough and basically is tough. France seemed to be going along well with her. That's a bonus for alliances such as these.
"So, I heard Price noted your sniper improvement." Ghost nudged.
"Yeah. Thanks Simon. Your training sucks but it helped a lot." Gary complimented.
"Tried talking to France and the new girl today." Ghost reported. Gary turned to him, clearly interested about his story.
"It was actually good. They're both intimidated by the mask and that's why they can't initiate conversation with me. But the talk went pretty well so I guess you needed to update your scoreboard or something." He muttered.
Gary chuckled. "That's one step towards her."
"I'll let the Interpol handle Berlin. Since it involves just the weapon, as for other news. I think it's time to transfer our two hostages back to the USA." Gary quickly turned his head back to the screen. No. It can't be. He had to stop this decision.
"With all due respect sir. I do not agree with this!" Gary stood up and all eyes were on him. He's still concerned about the welfare of the two plus he didn't want Maxine to leave. Not yet.
"I've read the report on their case sir. And it's not that I don't trust the system there but what if there's still another one in there with ties to Nero. He was able to slip by under our noses once or more times than that but let's consider the possibilities here." Gary explained as he looked around. Alex seemed to agree with him.
Shepherd let out a soft sigh.
"We'll discuss this possibility Sgt. Sanderson. You can sit down now." he said and resumed briefing.
"Brave move you did there, soldier." Ghost remarked as Gary let out a sigh. He wasn't sure on he's really concerned, the IP Address being extracted from Samantha or Maxine's smile that he will be missing if she left.

better than tony:Â I'm quitting my job
gremlin: no pls donât who else will changbin and I bother during breaks
chingban: you say that kind of bullshit about cookie monster and cheesecake and then you go and say âchangbin and Iâ instead of âme and changbinâ like normal people?????????
gremlin: look you may have had a crusty ass English teacher but my English teacher was LIT and I'll have you know I would take a bullet for her
gremlin: the least I can do use proper grammar when it comes to common mistakes

Mind, Body, and Soul 5
Authors note: Hey, so it's been a while oops. Iâve been writing one-shots in between writing chapters 4 and 5 only because I wasnât sure where to take this series, but Iâve figured it out and now Iâm back. I still have 3 or 4 one-shots written that still need to be edited. This chapter has a couple of switches of the POV. Sorry if itâs a little confusing, but itâs the easiest way to write the story. Also, I know Gideon and Rossi didnât work together in the early season, but Iâm changing it. I realize the TL of a lot of the members is off, but itâs all intentional for the story.
Content warning: Nothing I can think of, but donât be afraid to tell me about a warning I should put in.

Chapter 5: New Member of the BAU
*ring ring*
*ring ring*
I shift under Spencer's grip trying to reach my phone as it's ringing. Heâs such a heavy sleeper that by the time I wiggled out from his arms and grabbed my phone he was still sleeping. He just rolled over before snoring very quietly. I look at my phone and see it's my dad! Shit, I was supposed to meet with my dad at ten today and it's already eleven. I'm not even ready this is such a disaster, what am I supposed to tell him? Oh, donât worry dad Iâm just busy because Iâm in the back of this guyâs car and I slept through my alarm! Heâs going to kill me because I'm supposed to meet some of my dadâs work friends then go out to lunch with him.
âCiao papĂ ,â I say trying to sound like I'm awake. He can probably see through my bullshit though because I'm a shitty liar, and he's a profiler.
âWhere's my bambino and why isn't she at the BAU right now? My colleagues want to meet you.â
âSorry, I spent all night studying and I must've slept through my alarm I'll be there as soon as possible,â I technically lie to him I did sleep through my alarm.
âOkay...well, I love you. I have a security badge ready for you. All you have to do is tell security who you are and you're here to see me,â He's clearly not convinced but I don't think he cares enough to press the issue.
âOkay, love you too. Bye!â I hang up then turn to Spencer trying to wake him up.
I shake him over and over until he finally stirs. Seriously how the hell does he sleep so heavy. Once I get him up I explain that Iâm supposed to have lunch with my dad and Iâm supposed to meet his coworkers now that heâs coming out of retirement for whatever reason.
âOkay, yeah give me a second to clean up the back, and we can take you back to your apartment,â He says while rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
âThanks,â I say before planting a gentle kiss on his cheek.
He blushes at me before signaling for me to hop out of the trunk. We make a collaborative effort to clean out the trunk and sit the back seats back up. We then get in the front and make small talk on the way back to my apartment. Once we arrive I feel that pit in my stomach again, the same one I feel every time one of us has to leave.
âThanks for yesterday!â I say before turning to open the car door with the bear we made yesterday. When I asked who's keeping the bear he jokingly said weâll split custody and I guess this is my week. Before I could open the car door he placed his hand on my forearm very gently like I was made out of glass. He has this pained and disappointed look on his face.
âCan I see you again?â He asks just barely above a whisper.
I just respond with a nod and a quick kiss before I hop out of the car and wave goodbye. All I see is a wide grin on his face and a wave before I disappear into my apartment building. I knew Stella and Raven werenât home because neither of their cars was in the parking lot. That meant I could get ready quickly and slip out of the apartment without any questions being asked.
I set the stuffed bear on the bed and begin getting ready. After I shower, dry my hair, brush my teeth, apply a small bit of makeup, and slip on a sweater and jeans Iâm finally ready to leave. Itâs only one pm, so I'm not making a horrible time given that I was already late. I then practically drive like a mad man to the BAU. I stop at security and tell them Iâm here for my dad David Rossi. I get directions to the floor and where my dadâs new office is. I walk into the bullpen and see two very familiar and comforting faces, but the others belong to complete strangers. I immediately spot my dadâs old partner Jason Gideon and the Unit Chief Aaron Hotchner. I met them both when I was in middle school, but the rest of the team was new to me and my dad as well. Heâs been there for a couple of months since his book tour was just now ending. As soon as Gideon sees me he walks towards me with his arms outstretched.
âHey kiddo itâs been a long time. I may be getting old, but Iâll never forget that face.â He says while engulfing me in a hug. Honestly, I talked to Gideon probably more than my dad growing up. This is odd because he didnât have the best relationship with his own son, but he was always like a cool uncle. Then the same click happened to me and Aaron Hotchner when we first met. He always wanted kids and some of the only times you would see him smile and laugh was around kids. He and his wife Haley jokingly called me their test run when I would spend time with them. When my mom and dad were both busy I spent a lot of time with Haley because I didnât want to be with a nanny.
âHey, guys!â I say before hugging them both once more.
âSo, howâs school been? Youâre not getting into any trouble are you?â Uncle Jason asks before nudging me as the three of us walk towards my dadâs new office. I can see two peopleâs eyes on me from the bullpen then suddenly a third when a blonde woman who doesn't look much older than me comes strutting out of her office flashing me a quick smile.
âYou know me, Iâm David Rossiâs daughter, so I seemingly can't stay out of trouble,â I joked with them as we arrived at my dadâs new office. It had a shiny new nameplate that said âDavid Rossiâ on the front of it. Gideon knocks and I feel a wave of nostalgia. I remember in the 6th grade visiting my dad at the BAU and walking up to my dadâs office hand in hand with Gideon. Now Iâm much older and much taller, but much hasnât changed. After a few seconds, my dad opens the door with a huge grin on his face I swear he hasn't changed since I was a kid. He still wears overly expensive suits and a watch that probably would pay a year and a half of my rent if not more.
âAh, there she is. Oh, how Iâve missed you,â He says before eloping me in a bear hug.
âCome I want you to meet my other co-workers,â He says as the four of us walk back down the stairs where a small conglomeration of desks are.
âEverybody this is my daughter (y/n),â My dad proudly says while the three people went to introduce themselves. The first being the woman walking out of the office earlier. She is tall and blonde. She looks a little young to be a profiler though.
âHi, Iâm Jenifer Jareau, but youâre more than welcome to call me JJ. Iâm the communication's liaison,â She says as she sticks her hand out for me to shake. After a woman with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes also extended her hand out to me. She was wearing a tan leather jacket with a black top beneath it and black dress pants along with tan ankle boots.
âHi Iâm Elle Greenway, itâs nice to meet you these three have been talking about you all day,â She says while gesturing towards my dad, uncle Aaron, and uncle Jason. Lastly, a tall very muscular man walks up to me with an awful lot of confidence. Heâs wearing a tight heather gray t-shirt and a pair of jeans. Accompanied by his gun sitting snugly on his hip.
âWell Hello Iâm Derek Morgan and you must be an angel,â He says forgetting that my dad is standing right behind me either that or he doesn't care. I shake his hand before my dad clears his throat not amused by Morgan's antics.
âWell, now that youâve met my team itâs about time we went to lunch. Aaron donât hesitate to call me if something pops up about that DC hacker case,â He says as we walk away and Uncle Aaron just responds with his usual very stern-looking face and a slight nod.
âDC hacker?â I ask as we exit the bullpen and make our way to the elevator.
âLetâs not talk about work. I want to know about school how are you?â
âIâm doing good I guess I've been a little distracted as of recent but I'm keeping myself on track I promise.â
âAtta girl,â He says before the elevator doors open, and he leads me out to his car.
-----Time Skip----
âSo how are Raven and Stella I haven't seen them since I went to sign the lease again last year.â I can tell what heâs doing heâs making awkward small talk, so he feels like he's an integral part of my life. I appreciate the effort and I canât shit on him too much because at least heâs making an effort. So Iâll play into this and make him feel better for the time being. Iâm hoping that he doesn't feel like utter crap because we have nothing important to talk about besides this DC hacker case that I canât get out of my mind. I havenât talked about it since we were in the car because he clearly doesnât want me to know anything about it since he keeps dodging my questions.
âTheyâre doing pretty good. I mean we donât have any classes together this year because our majors are somewhat different, but we live together, so we're still close.â
âOh, how's that friend you were telling me about? Penelope Garcia, that's her name right?â He asks as he leans in close to me. If I didn't know any better I would think he's shamelessly profiling me right now. We continue to talk about school and my friends throughout lunch. For someone who has such an extra and boujee person, he didn't talk about himself at all. Which is not my dad's usual behavior at all.
âWell, that's good to hear. So I was thinking after lunch maybe we-â As if God himself answered my prayers my dad's work cell starting ringing. I can hear small mumbles from the blonde woman I met earlier I believe her name was JJ. I can't exactly make out what is going on but either way, I'm taking whatever excuse I can get.
âIâm sorry sweetheart Iâm going to have to cut this short that was a call from work. On the bright side, Iâm not going to be on my book tour anymore, so whenever I have a day off we can spend time together.â
âOf course!â I say trying to humor him.
âWell, Iâll drop you back off at the FBI building.â He says before flagging down the waitress to pay for the check.
----Rossiâs POV----
I walk back into the FBI building after dropping (y/n) off. Aaron, Gideon, and I feel terrible for using her to get information. I feel the worst out of the three of us because I promised her after going back to the BAU this time would be different, but she's currently just another pawn in a game she didn't agree to.
âSo what do we have Aaron?â
âFollow me to the round table we got all of the information needed from another technical analyst in the building Kevin Lynch.â
As Aaron and I walk into the room JJ is giving Gideon, Morgan, and Emily all of the information we need to know.
âThis is Penelope Grace Garcia. She is a 28-year-old female. We didnât have many people to contact for information on her because her birth parents are no longer alive. Her parents passed in a car accident ten years ago that was caused by a drunk driver. Since then she has seemingly lived a low profile life and has managed to stay under the radar when it comes to the justice system. We have been able to get enough evidence on her because of her close relations with David Rossi's daughter (y/n) Rossi. We are going to bring her in for questioning. Sheâll likely have no prior knowledge of interrogations because sheâs been able to fly under the radar. That also makes her extremely cocky, and sheâll think that we have no information on her. Our job is to be as docile yet forward as possible. We want to be docile, so sheâll trust. She has so much skill that Strauss approved for us to recruit her into the BAU. Sheâll be of more use to us than she would be in jail. Thatâs all for now.â
As JJ finishes with the profile we all gather our things and mentally prepare ourselves for the interrogation. I was advised to stay out of it just in case she knew I was (y/n)âs father. Given the fact that sheâs an elite hacker that isnât such a farfetched statement.
-Hotchâs POV-
âYou have two options either you can serve jail time or you can work for us at the BAU,â I tell her just before Morgan walks back into the room.
I have her make a quick resume, so we can hire her onto the BAU. I think she has potential and that sheâs just putting up a tough front. I have to give her props though because Iâve seen grown men crumble a lot easier than her. Once weâre able to strike a deal with her I have Morgan unlock her cuffs. I make sure Morgan knows to tell her that she canât talk about any of this with (y/n) for a while especially since the case involving her isnât fully closed.
-(y/n) POV-
I finally make it back to my apartment when I get a text from my mom asking how lunch with my dad went. As I unlock the door to my apartment I text her back and let her know that it was okay, but dad was acting super weird. I told her it seemed like he was interrogating me. She just let me know that itâs out of habit because heâs a profiler and itâs not that big of a deal and to not read too much into it.
I feel like there was something that I had to do but I can't remember. Itâs not until I check the calendar on my phone and realize Daisyâs birthday is in two days and I didnât get her anything. Iâm far too lazy to leave my apartment for a second time today which was supposed to be my day off. I also donât want to go alone maybe I should text Spencer and see how busy he is.
Me: Hey, I have a birthday party to go to on Saturday. I still need to get her a birthday present would you mind coming with me tomorrow?
Spence: Sure, what time should I pick you up?
Me: How about 10?
Spence: Sounds good Iâll see you then :)

Ice Cold ~Part 17
A/N: Sorry for the wait Iâve been so crazy busy. Enjoy!
We got back to the house just in time for the boys to go to practice. I changed into dry comfy clothes and went out ready to find Morgan and Mitchy. It didn't take much now that I could hear everything. I knocked on the door to Morgan's office and came in when he told me to.
"Hello."
"(Y/n) I'm so happy to see you awake! Mitch has been telling me about your day. How are you feeling?"
"I'm good! I can't even explain how incredible I feel right now. I am kind of thirsty though. Will said that I could have some more when it started to hurt?"
"Yes of course. Mitch will you go prepare a cup for her?"
"Of course. I'll be back in a bit. Give you guys a chance to talk and pretend I can't hear it."
"Thanks Mitchy." He nodded and left leaving me and Morgan.
"I understand you have some questions for me?"
"Morgan I'm pregnant. Or I was? I don't know anymore since I kind of died and I don't know how any of this works. I don't want to tell William until I know a little more."
"Well congratulations. It's not a guarantee that the pregnancy is terminated. There's a pretty high chance that the baby could have been a vampire. You becoming a vampire would be the best thing for it."
"Is there any way I can find out if it was a vampire or not?"
"How far along would you be?"
"Only a couple weeks. Like maybe 4?"
"If you lost the baby your body would expel it like a normal pregnancy. You still bleed as a vampire. You won't have a normal cycle at all but the reproductive system works pretty much the same for children and length of child bearing years. Now if children happen there's no chance of a human baby."
"How is it even possible?"
"It has to do with lineage. William's family are among the few original vampires. He and his siblings can have children. Who turned you also has to do with it although if it wasn't with William it would be very rare."
"Oh okay. That makes sense I suppose."
"You don't need to do most of the prenatal things that mothers usually do now. Your baby will get everything it needs from the blood."
"What do I do to keep up with it?"
"I would be the primary physician. As long as you're comfortable with that of course. I have experience in the medical field. I delivered William and all his siblings."
"I would probably be most comfortable with that actually."
"I'm glad. If you want to be sure about whether the baby is still there you could take another test. It's been long enough since your passing that the hormones would be gone by now if the pregnancy was over."
"Okay I might do that then. Can I go to the store and get one or is it like, not allowed?"
"Do you feel confident that you won't hurt anyone?"
"Absolutely."
"Alright then. I'd like you to go with Mitch if that's alright? It's not that I don't trust you, it's just-"
"Morgan it's okay I get it. I haven't been around people like this."
"He should be ready with your blood now. Go ahead and leave once you feel the burn leave your throat."
"Okay. Thanks Morgan. For everything."
"You're welcome." He gave me a warm smile and I left for the kitchen.
"Goin on a field trip huh? Willy would not like that."
"Why not?"
"Because being around people isn't easy. If he had it his way he'd wait for like a year."
"Well I'm not fucking doing that. Gimme my cup." I took it from him and took a long sip. "That's so much better than it should be."
"I know. You'll get used to it quickly. The eating animals part is hard to get used to but you probably won't have to do that for a while. New vampires don't usually take too well to it until a year or so after changing."
"That's fair I suppose. I hope it's not too bad of a change when the time comes."
We were quiet while I drank but the drive to the store was full of chatter. He was telling me all about his first few weeks as a vampire and I was telling him about how much I never noticed before that I can now.
"How are you feeling right now with more people around?" He asked as we got closer to the city.
"I feel fine. It's weird being able to smell everyone. I don't think I like that too much. It's a little overwhelming."
"You'll get used to it quick enough.just don't breathe, that helps."
"Mitch how do I just stop breathing? It's such a habit."
"Just stop. You'll still be able to talk and do everything you just won't get as many smells."Â
"Oh this is weird." I said trying it out. "Better smell wise but so weird."
"You'll get used to it."
"That's what everyone keeps saying."
"Hey you're already doing a million times better than me. I had already drank from someone and got locked in the cell by this point."
"Mitch I've only been awake for 7 hours!"
"I was wilder than you."
"You're wilder than everyone." I teased laughing with him.
"Alright we're here. Are you ready to go in?"
"Yeah I guess. You're coming too right?"
"Of course. If I see anything that makes me nervous we'll leave. It'll be okay."
"Alright let's go then." I got out of the car and was hit with no many gross smells.
"You're hilarious." Mitch said reading my thoughts.
"Okay well it smells like piss Mitchell what do you want me to say?"
"Nothing let's just go. Put sunglasses on. Your eyes are red."
"Oh shit okay." I took them from him and put them on quickly.
"Don't move so fast. Not very human looking." He whispered as we walked.
We got into the store and out without much trouble. I didn't really worry about picking the best pregnancy test. At this point a dollar store test should be able to tell if I was or not. No one recognized us either which was also good. We got back to the car and back to Morgan's pretty fast. Mitch was definitely speeding.Â
"Okay give me some privacy please." I said going into the bathroom.
"Oh come on why?"
"Mitch!"
"It's not like I haven't accidentally seen everything in William's mind already."
"What?!"
"William thinks about you naked all the time. Sometimes it's impossible not to see."
"Well whatever I don't care, I want privacy."
"Ugh fiiiiiine." He walked away and I waited until I heard him go to Morgan's office and start talking to do my thing.
While I waited for the test I couldn't help but hope that it would be positive again. The thought of a little William or little me was just too much for me to handle. A little vampire just so small and precious. I wouldn't be able to really bring my kid around friends until it was older. Wouldn't want them to get bit or anything. But it would really be the most incredible thing to have a little baby right now. I realized I'd just been standing there for a while and flipped the test over. Very strong second line. It was positive. Suddenly the door burst open and Mitch was holding me.
"I'm so happy for you! Congratulations!"
"Thank you Mitchy. I'm so happy." I wiped tears from my eyes. "I really thought that the whole changing thing would've ended the pregnancy but this means the baby was already vampire.. how interesting. Oh God I have to tell Willy!"
"Yeah that would definitely be smart." He said rolling his eyes.
"Shut up." I smacked his arm. "You and Morgan don't tell him anything when you see him. I want to tell him."
"We won't (y/n). You have my word." Morgan said from the doorway.
"Thank you. I appreciate that."Â
"We will leave you to yourself for a little while. We have to get going for the game. Will you be okay on your own? Tessa should be home in about 2 hours."
"Yeah I feel okay. Can I have another drink before you guys leave?"
"Oh course. We'll prepare two. One you can have right now and the other in a few hours when your throat starts burning again. You'll need more blood than normal because of the fetus."
"Okay that makes sense. Thank you."Â
"You're welcome. We'll leave you be and put the two cups in the fridge. See you later."
"Bye Morgan, Bye Mitchy. Good luck tonight."
"Thanks (y/n) see ya later." Mitch said following Morgan through the house.
I cried a little bit once they left before going down to get a drink. It was a really nice day so I went back out to sit on the ground to sip away. I could feel the wind again like it was buzzing under my skin. The sun felt so good on my face. I picked up an old dead leaf off the ground and twirled it's stem in my fingers. I let it go and it stayed in the air in front of me. I blinked and shook my head and it fluttered to the ground.
This was pretty curious I thought. I tried it again and it happened again. I moved my finger around over top of it and it started to twirl. I decided I had to try with more. I got a few in a pile and concentrated really hard. It was really difficult. I'd only get one or two up at a time. I was getting frustrated. I had been out for a long time trying to make these leaves dance to no avail. I took a frustrated breath and tried again. I got a lot of them to raise but the twirling didn't really work, they just moved in the wind a little bit.
"What are you doing?" Tessa asked breaking my focus, making me drop the leaves again.
"I don't actually know. I could make one twirl so I've just been sitting here trying to do more. That was the first time I got more than two off the ground."
"You're gifted." She said matter-of-factly.
"I am?"
"Well I mean look at yourself, you're manipulating something to keep the leaves up. Morgan said he had a feeling you would be very gifted. I don't know if he saw anything specific though."
"Darn, not very helpful."
"Maybe it's telekinesis? Can you move anything else? I don't know I was just doing the leaves."
"Try to lift up your cup?"
"Okay sure, good idea." I tried my best but it just would not go at all. "Tess, there's no way. I don't feel the vibrations with the cup."
"Well then it must be something else. I'm sure we'll figure it out. Would you like to watch the game with me? It'll give you a mental break and you can think about how you're going to tell William your big news."
"You know?"
"Yes honey Mo told me a long time ago that you would be having a little one soon."
"Oh. Does anyone else know?"
"William has no idea if that's what you're asking." She said sitting on the couch beside me. "You know Mitch so Auston probably knows but he'd never take this away from you."
"I hope you're right. I really want his genuine reaction, not the one after he's processed it, ya know?"
"Yeah I totally get that. You deserve that."
We were quiet most of the game. It was something I really loved about Tessa was that I could just be quiet with her or should I say not say words. I still cheered all the time but it wasn't a conversation at all. After the game was done she got up and stretched, letting out a yawn. With a goodnight, she left for upstairs. I followed not long after. I sat in William's room with the big window open, just sitting and breathing in nature. I heard them talking long before they got to the house. I just stayed put and waited for William up there.
"Hi darling. What are you doing up here?" He asked, sitting down behind me. I held onto his arm that slipped around me.
"Waiting for you."
"Morgan tells me you have some news for me?"
"Yeah I do. Pretty big news actually." I turned sideways in his arms to look at him.
"Tell me then (y/n). Don't leave me waiting in this suspense." He teased kissing me.
"William.. I'm pregnant."
"You're what? Wait really? You are? We are?" He asked, his eyes lighting up as it sunk in. His smile was blinding and so contagious.
"Yeah we are. We're going to have a little baby."Â
"I love you so much." He said before giving me a million kisses.
"I love you too. I'm so excited to expand our family."
"Me too. I hope it's a little girl that looks just like you."
"I also want a girl but I want her to have your blue eyes and blonde hair. She'd be so pretty. Or having a little boy that looks just like you would be incredible. I don't care what they are or look like. I'm just so excited."
"You're going to be the best mom in the world." He said, pulling me up towards him.
"You're going to be an incredible dad."

T -1
Dear diary or however you are supposed to start.
So tomorrow is the big day. Dad and I are sleeping at a Holiday Inn at the other side of the state. Well, I'm obviously not sleeping. How could I? So I thought I should start a journal of some sort to document this experience.
Some background. Two months ago I was in a fight with Mark Samberg on the football team. It had gotten pretty bad between the football schmucks and us swimmers. The jockheads were constantly harassing us, calling us fags and prissy boys. It happened often and was getting boring. As the captain of the swim team I asked Mark to knock it off and get his players in line. Idiot as he is he tried to knock me out instead, and I lost it. In our scramble I managed to knock him down and was about to kick him in the shin when he shifted and instead I connected with his knee. Apparently it fractured. He'll be able to walk and even run, but he'll not be able to play again for years, so he lost his Scholarship.
His family sued everyone they could. Me, the school, the swim coach. In the end all the lawyers sat down in a room with a local judge and came up with something they all could agree to. Mark gets some study assistance to get his grades up, the school had this quickly brushed under the carpet, and could pretend I was never student there. Me not graduating wasnât really a blow, as my college fund now went to pay for Markâs education, as compensation. They were rich enough to afford it anyway, but they wanted to see punishment. I get the honor to spend the next 180 days at the Lepinski Adolescence Reformation Center, where I will "participate in all scheduled exercises, activities, therapies, meals and medication programs". They can tack on some extra days for bad behavior without going back to the judge, but essentially I get 6 months at bad boy camp for standing up to bullies.
What will I do there? No idea. The website talks a lot about work ethics and responsibility and working together with the local community. Sounds like labor camp to me. I'll guess we'll know tomorrow. But first we have to visit the hospital for a check up. My first day in prison will mostly not be in prison!
Day 1, Monday
We started with a checkup at the hospital, and man did they do a thorough job. Our appointment was at 10, but before that I had to fill out a form with 100 questions. The doctor spent more than 30 minutes doing the most extensive check I've ever had. Not only that, but after the check we had to go to the sample lab to draw blood, and finally I had a CT scan at noon. After that, and a quick lunch, we drove to the actual reformation center, which was in a smaller town 2 hours away.
It's an old boarding school building that they've turned into this "Reformation Center", and it clearly looks more like a prison than a school. Just a heap of two story brick and concrete buildings out in nowhere. Not much of security, but then everyone was there "voluntarily", meaning that we all had a proper punishment waiting for us if we left. I hugged dad goodbye and was shown to Mr. Kerwinâs office by the entrance guard.
Mr. Kerwin was a lean, ripped man in his forties that oozed military discipline. He explained that he was responsible for my rehabilitation and that he wouldn't start soft. He would give me a packed schedule, and if I didn't pull my weight he would add more days for "noncompliance". If I didn't like it I could run back to judge Stephenson and ask to start over in juvie.
Perhaps that would be better, because the schedule he showed me was totally insane.
4:30-5:00Â Breakfast 5:00-8:00 Â Exercise pass 1 8:00-12:00 Work pass 1 12:00-12:30 Lunch 12:30-14:30 School 14:30-17:30 Work pass 2 17:30-18:00 Dinner 18:00-21:00 Exercise pass 2 21:30 Â Â Â Lights out
He explained that my breakfast, lunch and dinner would be pre-portioned and I was required to eat all of it. The exercise passes would be lead by himself or one of the assistants. Again, I would have to follow every instruction. The work passes were done at local businesses that wanted an extra hand, and changed depending on demand. The school passes were done as a group on whatever subject Mr. Reed selected.
Next he ordered me to get naked and place all my clothes on top of my bag and move to the other side of the room. Having done so he pointed at a stack of clothes on the table and told me to pick my size and get dressed. I quickly dressed in one of the track suits from the table. There was a baseball cap also, which confused me, but was told that it was instead of sunglasses when working outdoor.
With that I was given a rule book to study and was led by an assistant to my room where a dinner was waiting. Turkey, rice, water. I was reminded of lights out at 21:30 and wake up at 4:30. The assistant left and locked the door. 10 minutes later he came back with my journal book and pen, and told me that they'll keep the rest for now.
Having eaten the dinner and having three hours (I'm almost sure 21:30 is 9:30 PM) to kill before the lights go out I'm now summarizing the day. I'm sitting in something very similar to a prison cell. Bed, toilet, sink. Everything is clean, though somewhat worn. Looking into the mirror is kind of depressing though. I look like some jailed gang member.
It's kind of weird that I haven't met any of the other inmates, sorry students, here. I saw some of them while coming in, but perhaps this is their kind of hazing, or they do an official presentation tomorrow. Anyway, I should study the rule book and go to bed, since I didn't sleep much last night.
Day 2, Tuesday
So much to write about, so little time. I might have to split this into several entries since lights out is in 20 minutes.
I was awaken at 4:30 and given a tray with a large bowl of porridge and berries and some chalky smoothie or shake or whatever to drink. After that an assistant lead me to the gym room where we went over various machines, mainly for cardio. Elliptical, bike, treadmill. Weird thing was that it was only us two in the room during all three hours.
Sweaty and a bit tired I was then taken outside to a bus where some of the other boys where chilling. Apparently everyone else had breakfast between 7 and 8. They had no idea why I didn't join them there. The bus then drove around town and the driver announced who should exit where. My group of four people exited at a farm before town, only about 5 minutes away. I don't know exactly since I haven't been given my watch back.
There we spent hours just moving hay. Don't they know about tractors? Sweaty, itchy, tired and hungry we were then picked up and driven back. At lunch was the first time I saw the real common area. To my surprise there were more boys there than had been on the bus.
Everyone else could pick what they wanted from what was served, but I was given a ready tray with an heap of salmon and pasta. I was starving though, so it wasn't a problem to eat it all. I didn't have much time to talk, but the guys at my table were nice. Somewhat rough, as could be expected. Apparently you were chosen for the different work assignments, and if you were not picked you stayed at the center for sports or craft or similar things.
After Lunch followed a session with Mr. Reed. The first boring hour was on English grammar and the second boring hour on US geography. I aced the quizz getting all 50 states and state capitols right, so I didn't learn anything new after that. Then Mr. Reed announced who had work assignments, and I was again selected.
This time I and Troy were dropped off at a different farm where we spent almost three hours helping with fencing. Mainly carry posts and sawing them to length.
For dinner I had some meatballs with roasted sweet potatoes while everyone else had meatballs with tomato sauce. Mr. Kerwin picked me up and led me to the gym. Unlike the morning session this was all about weight training. Most of it was on finding my limits for different exercises while Mr. Kerwin pointed out how I could improve my form. You could tell that this was what he liked to do, and encouraged me to push a bit further. Once we were done I had a bottle of post workout mix of some sort and a very quick shower before rushing back to my room.
Here's the thing. My room is on a different floor than the other guys. Also, my schedule appears to be different and much more rigid than the rest of the guys. I also
Day 3, Wednesday
I couldn't finish the last entry before they cut the light. My entire body is in pain right now. I woke up like that, and it didn't go away all day. Same schedule as yesterday, but different tasks and different dishes. The assistant really pushed today during the morning session, so I was exhausted already at the bus. Planting bushes at the city park all morning didn't help. I got some rest during Reeds rehash of elementary math. Then back to doing fences, and top it all off with weight training. I asked Mr. Kerwin about the schedule and why it was so different from everyone elseâs. He said that everyone's schedule is individual and that he'll adjust mine as needed.
One more weird thing before I fall to sleep. Everyone else is using their normal clothes. I haven't gotten mine back yet.
Day 4, Thursday
FUCK! I was back on moving hay today again, with Sam, Trevor and Rick. I'm still hurting like hell and Rick is one lazy motherfucker, so old fart Farmer Joe decided to complain. The end result is that I am getting 2 days added for noncompliance. Sam, Trevor and Rick got nothing. WTF!
Day 5, Friday
We were carrying merchandise all morning and Troy heckled me on how I got more days because of the piece of shit Rick. But he then said that it was a weird coincidence that every work shift I've been on has been the toughest one.
Instead of going to class I met with the doctor from the hospital who made a visit. He asked me about how I felt, where I was sore etc. Then he gave me an injection which he said would ease things for me. I didn't feel much different, but I was getting really sleepy getting back to Mr. Reeds class, but it might just be that everything he did was too simple and boring.
Apparently while I had a check up Troy had shared his theory about me being a work magnet, so there were some groans from the guys placed in my group. God damn fence work again.
Man, I'm tired. I was tired even before Mr. Kerwin gave me the toughest weight pass ever. Fuck, I'm tired.
Day 6, Saturday
So the weekend schedule is different. There is still a morning work pass, basically only used by the local farmers. But the afternoon is free both on Saturdays and Sundays. Conditions and terms applies, apparently. Since I haven't done any cleaning or dishes all week (how could I?), I'm assigned washing clothes, sheets etc. Man, how much better it is to carry laundry than hay. Best job assignment all week. Lots of downtime. Only real drawback is all the humidity. Itâs steamy AF here.
Still fucking 3h workout pass in the morning and evening. The other boys were pretty vocal in mocking me on my way to the gym.
Day 7, Sunday
So the day started out as any other so far. Woke up sore. Breakfast alone and 3 hour gym session. There are no work passes outside LARC on Sundays, so I was hit with cleaning, together with Kyle G. and Rick. Rick ghosted after like three minutes, but KG did a solid work. It took us all the time til lunch though to finish it.
Then my first free couple of hours all week. Itâs insane. The other guys were low key avoiding me, so I did what Mr. Kerwin had suggested and had a walk in the forest. It was actually kind of nice, and for some weird reason I didnât feel like sitting still.
Day 8, Monday
Same shit again. Mr. Kerwin gave me a shot in the arm this evening. Apparently Iâll have one each Monday from now on. Whatever.
Also I found out today that the others donât have formal lights out. Iâm on my own floor so they can lock me up and cut the power. What the fuck?
Day 9, Tuesday
That fucker Rick slacked off again, taunting me about another two days. Ha! I got 10. Mostly for kicking him in the teeth. They locked me in my room, so I had lunch there and sat in this boring ass cell during class and work. Fuck, I donât know whatâs worse. I had to do some body weight exercises to keep sane. Fuck this shit.
Back again. I still got to have my evening workout. Kerwin was pushing harder than ever. The order of exercises was different too. Apparently to make the major muscles tired so smaller muscle groups then get to work. Or something. I donât give a shit.
Day 11, Thursday
They fucking work now, donât they the little shits. They know I ruined someones career to get here and another one for slacking off. They better pull there weight
Day 14, Sunday
I think Iâll stick to just write on Sundays. There is only half an hour from evening gym to lights out, so there isnât much time for writing. Iâve even skipped shower a few times. Itâs not like it matters when you start every fucking day getting soaked with cardio. Not like there are any girls around to impress either. Sunday has a different vibe tho. Cleaning, running in the forest and taking a long shower.
Starts and ends with fucking gym time though.
Day 21, Sunday
I really fucking like the forest runs. Its like you donât have to think and can just run wherever and grab whatever and smash whatever. Fucking love it
Day 28, Sunday
Yay! A full fucking month!
Itâs crazy though how much stronger Iâm. I have gone up one size larger track suite and 2 sizes larger sneakers. Working hard to make me the best I guess.
Day 42, Sunday
guess i forgot about writing last week. i think the monday shots make me angry or something because last week fucked up someone else on tuesday. at least they all give me fucking respect at least.
Day 92, Monday
i dont give a shit abot reeds borin ass lessons and they fuckin repeat on a loop or some shit. today he was back on gramr and the states. i most time dont fill out his shit but wanted to do it again today. fucking aced most of the states. not so good on the capitols tho
Day 203, Sunday
only 2 weeks left tomorrow lol then im gonna yeet the fuck outta here !!!! adios motherfuckas
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/4b93a6017e5e8fde268f3b186ac35289/93c3429e8ef51f6d-b2/s540x810/e92545fdb6b421e1e35f7f7ac29a8ba13daaddbe.jpg)
Mr. Kerwin enters the room, carrying a folder, and walks behind his desk, not even looking at me. I am sitting in his precious fucking antique chair I pulled from the corner. Heâs sitting his ass down, rifles through the papers in the folder and starts to read from one of them.
âJohn Hamlin agrees to 180 days of rehabilitation training at the Lepinski Adolescence Reformation Center, where he will participate in all scheduled exercises, activities, therapies, meals and medication programs, with a possible extension of 30 days for noncompliance and a possible extension of 60 days for infractions as described by the Juvenile Rehabilitation Act (JuRA), section 1103 (b).â
He looks up at me. It sounded like easy shit when I said yes to it. I thought half a year in a bad boy summer camp, or worst case something like prison, but that would have been miles better than this fucking non-stop hard labor shit. And 180 days was a fucking joke. They never fucking intended that to be the actual time. Have someone else slack off and the slap another 2 days to the time. Kick a chair to pieces, 5 days. Punch a guy for being a cunt, 10 days. Iâm close to having another fucking outburst again. It must be all that fucking shit they put in the food or shakes or whatever. I fight it. I donât want to show any emotion in front of him. I donât think he buys my shit.
âThere is another document in the agreement that you havenât heard. This one between Mark and judge Andrews.â
He pulls out another paper from the folder and read it.
âThe state hereby directs Mark Samberg, or person(s) by him so designated, to design and oversee the rehabilitation program of John Hamlin to be administrated at the Lepinski Adolescence Reformation Center. This includes physical exercises, physical therapy, education, consoling, dietary plan and medication, as long as it fulfills the positive development criteria (Appendix D), is within the available services at the Lepinski Adolescence Reformation Center (Appendix A) and within the given budget (Appendix C). Additional services require external financing and approval from the Reformation Center management (Appendix B).â
That doesnât make any fucking sense. Why the hell had the judge put Mark in charge of my schedule? I understand why heâd want to make the experience suck as much as fucking possible for me, by why had everyone agreed to it? Kerwin looks at me as if he can read an open book.
âYou are wondering what has happened to you. What was the meaning of all this? Stand up.â
I jump to my feet. There are still weeks he can add to my time here, and I donât want to give him any fucking reason to add some shit.
âStand with your feet as close together as you can.â
Heâs never asked me to do that before. I can easily tap me feet together, but I canât really stand still with my feet right next to each other for long. What the fuck is this bullshit? My thighs are too massive for that.
âSit down again.â
He leans back and watches me with a bemused smirk.
âImagine that youâd been away from swimming half a year. Even if you kept in shape it would take you months to be back in good enough technique to clear the swim team tryouts. But you have not kept in shape, have you? You have a completely new shape.â
The blood is draining from my face. I understand where this is going.
âWith your upper body build you can physically really only do butterfly strokes properly, but if you canât bring your feet together the leg kick will just be a wild thrashing of water. You swimming medley would be a hilarious joke. We havenât even talked about you almost doubling in weight, and how much more oxygen you would need to swim. Sure, you are much stronger now, but old you would swim circles around new you. And that is of course the point. If Mark couldnât have his sports career, he didnât want you to have yours either. And the judge agreed.â
Iâm surprised that the chair doesnât break, as hard as Iâm squeezing it. Iâm boiling with fucking rage. I have to really focus to not to act on it.
âNow the judge specifically set out that this transformation couldnât be punishment in itself, but rather that you were trained in a way that just wasnât optimal for swimming. We may have gone a bit overboard with the body building to leave you many options though. Youâll obviously never be competitive in anything with speed or agility, like football or boxing. The metabolic conditioning, hormone treatment and gene therapy have far to long lasting effects to change you back from where you are now. You could try wrestling or weight lifting though, unless you mind showing your erection through spandex.â
âWhat the fuck?â, I said, as much as a general question to all the things heâd said. What does metabolic conditioning mean? Gene therapy? Erections?
âThe medical regimen that Marks family found for you kind of put the feet on both the gas and the break at the same time. It forces the body to grow a lot at the same time as we try to stop it, so it has to try even harder. By injecting stem cells with the right CRISPR-modified DNA we could get rapid, major and long lasting changes. Well, I say we, but all I did was to make sure you kept to the exercise regimen, for a little cash on the side⌠Surely you didnât think you got larger feet and dick from eating much and working hard?â
I donât understand exactly what they done to me, but the result is pretty fucking clear. There was no way I would swim competitively ever again, if I could even fucking swim at all now. I would come out of here looking like a fucking balloon animal muscle jock, and shedding the muscles back to where I were would take shitloads of years.
âThe hormone treatment finished two weeks ago and last blood sample shows that your natural hormone levels will keep you muscled and pumped probably well into your forties. So this morning I also cut you off from all suppressive medication as well. That is going to spike your hormone levels and mess quite a bit with you, so we need to see just how badly fucked up you are before we can release you.â
âThe good doctor say that youâll be more irritable and have more excess energy than before. Both something you can work on with regular, hard exercise. But I want to see where you really are at now, so starting today youâll have no required gym time and labor passes. You can wake up when you want, eat what you want and do what you want.â
âYou said erections?â, I asked.
âYeah, the suppression medication should have kept you limp. You havenât jacked off while here, have you? Well, you heard what I said about gas and break and compensation. Your body has been pumping massive amounts of hormones into your blood, and will continue to do so. But now that you donât have the suppressives anymore you should expect to be horny for the next decade or two. Youâll be nothing but a lumbering muscle dildo.â
Thereâs a crack somewhere inside the wood of the armrest. Fucking fourteen more days, I have to remind myself. Donât fuck any shit up before then. If I let go of the chair Iâm quite positive I will knock him the fuck out. Fourteen fucking more shit days.

youâve changed
i thought the song goes well with the scene (sw: peter cries) where peter cries so if you wanna play it there, you can :)
Request: Hi I hope your having a good day or night depends on the time your reading this. How about a Peter Parker x Male chubby reader were they dated before thanos snapped his finger and the reader didn't get snapped away and spent the next 5 years living out his life and when peter comes back he finds the reader but their in their 20's and divorced with a kid. Then they try to work things out. It could have angst but have fluffy ending. Maybe the reader waits till peter is olderand ask him to marry
i absolutely l o v e this idea, ty for requesting ^^ it's somewhere after homecoming, but mj already knows about peter, in the first part. The second one would be uh after endgame lol
youtube
You werenât popular amongst your peers. Hell, no one really knew you or your friend group of four. You didn't mind, nothing like that really bothered you all. Michelle was currently using Ned as a reference for another one of her art pieces that would bring some sort of ârevelationâ to those who viewed it, like the ones you see when browsing your Instagram feed about global warming or species endangerment.
Peter, on the other hand, was working on his new suit upgrades. Behind Mr. Starkâs back, he wanted to make his suit more powerful, especially since his parental lock was taken off - also behind Starkâs back, but he didn't have to know (though, of course, he already did). You were working on school assignments since there was nothing better for you to do anyways. Both you and Peter worked on the floor while MJ had Ned sat on the bed in a position where he looked as if he were murdered.
You glanced over at Peter; he peeked over at you simultaneously, the two of you smiling as a bit of pink made it to both your cheeks. You went back to your respective work, as did Peter.
âŚ
âPeter?â you whispered, careful not to wake MJ and Ned up; MJ next to you on the ground and Ned, snoring on the top mattress of Peterâs bunk bed with an arm and a leg slung over the edge. âYeah?â he whispered back, equally as cautious. You sat up a little, âI canât sleepâŚâ
âYeah, me neither..â he responded.
âCan I, um.. Sleep next to you? Maybe?â you asked shyly, before shaking your head, ânevermind.. That sounds stupid, just forget it.â
âNo!â Peter winced, looking up to Ned dangling over the edge of the bunk, before lowering his voice, âNo, itâs fine. You can come up here, I donât mind.â
You carefully slipped out of the blankets you shared with MJ and hopped into bed next to Peter. He was at least a head taller than you, if not half. He awkwardly shifted to the wall, and you felt like cringing. You were always a bit.. soft.. You weren't obese; oh no, you were the average healthy weight, and you could complete the mile somewhere in its required time. It wasnât like you were unhealthily big, it was just your body shape. You had big thighs and a tummy that would show through shirts that were too tight (for your liking, anyway). Compared to Peterâs secretly toned body, you were like a marshmallow, and you disliked it very, very much.
However, Peter loved it, though heâd never admit it. Sure, you took up a little over half the space, but Peter honestly could care less. You felt him nudge your side, moving to come a bit closer. He was just in boxers and a t-shirt. You had pants and a hoodie, and Peter could just barely feel your body warmth. He looked at you, and you could just barely make out the shape of his eyes, how they looked; begging, big, puppy-like eyes. You bit your lip, suppressing a giggle, âCareful Parker, thatâs pretty gay..!â you joked silently. He let out a breathy laugh, âNothingâs gay about cuddling with your best friend..!â You chuckled, opening your arms for him to come into. He rested his chin on top of your head, wrapping his arms around your upper body while you wrapped your arms around his slim waist.
Like magic, you both found the sleep youâve been craving so much.
~~~
You watched in fear as half of the people around you began to vanish in clouds of dust. You looked over to MJ, who was accompanying you to a bookshop that had just opened a few days ago. She looked down to her feet, which began to slowly fade away, before looking up at you in fear, ây/n, iââ but she was gone. You tried to grab her hand, her shirt, anything, thinking it would somehow stop what was happening. But you couldn't, if anything it sped up the process. You cried, trying desperately to grasp some of the ashes of one of your best friends before she was goneâ to no avail.
Crying there in the streets of New York, watching as people screamed for their loved ones, you curled up into a fetal position, tears streaming down your cheeks. You knew Peter had skipped a school field trip to join Iron man and the other well-known Avengers in whatever was causing this, but you had no idea where Ned was, if he was alright... And, well, you already knew MJ was long gone.
What about your parents? Were they disappearing as well? Quickly, you ran back in the direction of your small Queens apartment, praying to whatever gods were out there that they were safe and unharmed.
~~~
The hallways of Midtown high school were crowded as those who had disappeared from the âSnapâ reunited with their friends. No one realized that, for five years, they had all gone missing. Sure, they remembered the process, but for them, it was like taking a five-minute nap rather than a five-year-long one. Peter was almost breathless as he saw MJ and Ned on campus, a wide smile on his face as he jogged up to them, surprising the both of his friends as they all had a moment, hugging, shaking hands, glad that everyone was safe.
Well...
Almost everyone.
âW-Whereâs y/n?â Peter asked, looking around to try and find your small and round frame that he missed since heâd left Earth. MJ and Ned shared a look, and Ned bit his lip. âHe-... heâs not here..â
Peter choked on his breath, âHe died?!â
âWhat? No, no,â MJ was quick to confirm, waving her arms almost frantically, âHe wasnât uh, what do you call it? Snapped? He stayed here, he grew up.. Heâs like, twenty now.â
Peter couldn't believe it. You wouldâve been way older than him now! âTell me youâre kidding, is this a prank?â
MJ shook her head, as well as Ned. No. No, no, no, that can't be true. If it was, were you lost from them? Did you know where they were? He was scared for you, imagining your chubby, short form frightened and worried for everyone's sake. He looked desperately at his two remaining friends, âDo we.. Do you know where he is? His location?â
Ned beamed, âIâm your guy in the chair, of course I know where he is!â
âŚ
Peter was hesitant to knock at your door, knuckles moving towards and then away from the wooden surface. He had to admit, your place was nice, on the outside at least. He could judge the inside once.. If⌠you answered the door. Once Peter got the courage to finally make his presence known, a few seconds later a child peered through the window. He was surprised, but smiled and waved to the kid. She smiled and waved back, before looking behind her. Peter assumed that was, hopefully, you. The door opened, and Peter had to look up, like, wayyy up. You had gotten taller, and slimmer. Peter noticed you were more built, and he had to stop himself from lowering his gaze and letting his mind melt into the gutter. âPeter..?â you asked, almost dumbfounded at the sight of your high school crush. The little girl from before wrapped her arms around your leg, looking up at Peter with wide eyes, âDaddy, whoâs this?â
âDaddy?!â Peter blurted out without thinking. This was all happening so fast. ây/n?â he looked up at your face again, and you nodded. While much had changed about you, he was glad your smile remained the same. Soft and bright and infectious.
âYep, this is my daughter, say hi honey,â you looked down at your daughter, who shyly waved and grinned at Peter. She has your smile, Peter thought to himself.
Wait, if this was your kid, that meant.. You were married? He couldn't imagine it, the thought of it. The life he imagined so many times over and over in his head, about what life would be like with you in the future, ruined because of some giant purple alien with a lack of brain cells and the face of an avocadoâs backside, and a woman he didnât know of.
âPeter, would you like to come in? I bet you have questions..?â you asked, and Peter shook his head to get out of his thoughts, before nodding, âYes, please.â Here you two were, speaking formally as if you were business partners. You invited him inside, and your daughter moved to the couch, taking a small, pink, fluffy bunny into her arms as she sat down. âEmily,â you said sternly, making Peter flinch, âWhat did we say about shoes on the couch?â
The girl, Emily, promptly removed her velcro slip-on shoes before looking to her father, who smiled in approval, âGood girl!â She smiled, and Peter giggled as he sat himself on the couch. You sat on the opposite side of him, your daughter moving from next to Peter, to your lap. You sat her on your knee as she played quietly with her bunny stuffed toy.
âSo, you, uhh, grew up?â Peter asked awkwardly, and you chuckled bitterly, âyeah, haha.â
âYouâve changed,â
âFive years does that to you, I guess,â
âThis your daughter?â
âYep. Emily. Sheâs three.â
âThat means you had her around, what, junior year? y/n, I didnât know you had it in youâŚ!â Peter joked to himself in his mind. But there was a burning feeling in his stomach. This domestic lifestyle; a quiet house, a child, and later on he found out you had a german shepherd named Skittles (Emily had named him). He wanted this life for so long, ever since he realized his feelings for you, with you. But you had lived a life without him, not that he blamed it on you.
After an hour or two of recalling the last five years of your life to Peter, including meeting Amanda, your ex-wife, and having Emily, it was time for him to leave.
âIt was nice talking to you again, Peter,â you said shyly, another thing that hadnât changed, thankfully. He bit his lip, lingering on your porch a bit, âUh, hey.. y/n..?â
âYeah?â
âSo.. you arenât with your ex-wife anymore, right?â
âYep, no contact, nothing,â you were holding Emily in your arms, resting her on your hip. You could see conflict in Peterâs eyes, so you let her down and shooed her off playfully to go entertain herself with toys. She obeyed, and you turned to Peter, who looked up at you with glossed eyes. You felt your breath hitch, âPeter.. What- are you okay?â
He nodded, biting his lip, before shaking his head, âno, no Iâm not okay! You grew up, you have a life now.. I didnât even get the chance to be a part of it.. Youâ I loved you! I still do..â he cried, wiping his tears as he sobbed. You looked down at him, and you couldnât help but sigh. He was still a child, of course. He hadnât matured at all, since heâd basically been frozen in time. He was still the same childish teenager you knew five years ago. âPeter..â you whispered soothingly, wrapping your arms around him. It was now your turn to rest your chin on his head like he would do all those nights in freshman year. You held him in a protective embrace, and he just held onto your back, gripping at the fabrics of your t-shirt. You shushed him, âPeter, it's okay, Iâm here..â
âBut youâve outgrown me! Youâve lived your life, you have a daughter, you got married, all without me! I wanted to be the person you could count on, the one you would go to sleep and wake up to at night, someone you loved, but instead.. I-.. youâŚâ he didnât know how to finish his sentence, instead crying into your shoulder. âPeter, I understand..â You whispered, âI loved you, too, I still do.. Itâs just.. Our age gap now, I donât think we can make it work now..â
Petr let out a shaky breath, nodding, âYeah⌠Iâm sorry,â he said, and you shook your head, âYou don't have to apologize, none of this is your faultâŚâ
Peter looked to your chest, still holding tightly onto you, before he perked up, looking up at your eyes, âWait, y/n, I think.. Could you⌠What if I graduated? Wait no, that didnât come out right.â
You chuckled. Peter shook his head, âno, listen to me. I know Iâm five years younger than you now, but.. If I came back after graduating high school, when Iâm older, would you be willing to, I dunno, make it work?â You thought for a minute, biting your lip, âMaybe⌠it would give us enough time to.. Catch up, fullyâŚâ the look on Peterâs face, it made you melt.
~~~
Ever since that day, Peter had been visiting you and Emily almost every day. Emily became used to him a few weeks in, now looking forward to her favorite visitor to knock on the door. She would open it and squeal, âUncle Petey!â and Peter would always carry her when he walked in, without ail, and lift her up and make her giggle. The fact that Peter was treating your young like one of his own, it made you fall even more in love.
One day, you and Emily were in the kitchen, finishing up homework for her first-grade class. She huffed, âThis English stuff sucks! Iâd rather do math, and be super brain smart like Uncle Peter,â she said, crossing her arms. You sighed, and a giggle came from the doorway of the kitchen. You looked behind you to see Peter leaning on the doorframe, arms crossed, âEnglish is important too, kid,â he said, sitting next to Emily, across from you. He was eighteen now and on his way to a promising college. He had a lot of responsibilities already, with his senior grades coming to an end and taking up half of Stark Industries with Pepper. You were proud of him, to say the least.
âIn order to be super smart,â you said, âyou have to be well-rounded. That includes English, young lady. Come on, it canât be that hard,â you took a look at her paper, âOh shit, wait this is hard.â
Peter and Emily gasped, âLanguage!â they said at the same time, making the three of you giggle. ây/n, I have something to ask you,â Peter said, glancing at Emily, âprivately.â
Emily sighed, exasperated, âWhat?! Why canât I know?!â she whined, kicking her legs a little. You chuckled, ruffling her hair a bit, âGet to finishing that homework, kid, weâll be right back.â Emily pouted but got to work regardless.
âWhat is it Peter?â you asked once the two of you made it to the living room. Peeter looked into your eyes, he had grown taller, almost as tall as you now. âSo, uh, I talked with Mrs. Stark, about things⌠I uh, I think Iâm gonna move into the Stark Tower, focus on my studies there, help Pepper with running the Industry and prepare Morgan. Sheâs seven now, you know, just a year younger than Emily... Theyâd be great friends.. Emily likes math, Morgan is a science buff, like her dad.. Uh,â
âPeter, what are you getting at?â you asked, a small grin forming on your lips. He rubbed the back of his neck, âIâm getting at- uh, what Iâm trying to say, what Iâm asking is if, you and Emily would like to stay with me in the Tower? It would be easier for us to see each other.. And Morgan would love Skittles, and Emily, she wouldnât be lonely when she comes home. Morgan is homeschooled at the moment, they could both be homeschooled together so they arenât lonely, you know? A-Andââ
âPeter,â you cut him off as he began rambling. He looked up at you, clearly shaken and desperately awaiting your response. You smiled, âOf course, I'd be happy to move in with you. But I might reconsider the whole âhomeschoolâ thing. I want Emily to be raised normally. Sheâs smart, sure, but she still needs school. Homeschool, we can think about when sheâs older.â
Peter grinned, hugging you, âOf course! We can do that!â he giggled, and you heard a cheer come from behind the two of you. You turned around, a scowl on your face as you saw Emily, not doing homework. âEmily! Why aren't you finishing your English homework?â
She blushed, âThe kitchen and the living room are right next to each other! How could I not overhear..?â she paused a moment before speaking up, âAre we really gonna live at Stark Tower..?â You sent Peter a look, and he smiled and nodded, âMhm! Right next door to Uncle Pete!â Emily was ecstatic, and that was an understatement.
~~~
An eleven-year-old Morgan and ten-year-old Emily were playing Wii Sports in the lounge, Morgan purposefully losing to Emily since she had been winning too easily the last few rounds. She was treating Emily exactly like a younger sister, and it warmed your heart as much as the coffee you held warmed your hands. Emily cheered, having won another Tennis match. Morgan faked sighed, âHuff, that doesnât make sense, youâre cheating!â she playfully shoved Emily, and they both giggled. Eventually, Pepper came into the room, âMorgan,â she called sweetly, and both daughters looked up, âitâs time for you and Emily to head to bed.â The girls groaned but nonetheless followed directions.
You nodded over to Pepper, âIâm gonna head to my room now, got some work to do,â to which Pepper responded with a nice, âalright, sweet dreams y/n.â You waved goodbye and made your way to your room.
âŚ
You were covered in your bedsheets, warm and on the verge of falling asleep when a knock came from your door. You sat up, a groggy and sort of annoyed âCome in,â emitting from the depths of your throat. Peter came in, a little embarrassed, you could tell, that he had disturbed you at this hour, ây-y/n, can I come in? I.. canât sleep,â he admitted, looking at his bare feet. You yawned, not being able to stay mad at him, and nodded, patting the space next to you. No longer had you filled up more than half the space in the bed like you had 5 years ago, Peter noticed, beginning to miss those times when you did and feeling a little bitter that he had missed so much time with you.
You took initiative and wrapped your arms around Peterâs shoulders, bringing him into your now toned chest. Peter went red; you could feel the heat of his face against your skin. Peter wrapped his arms shyly around your waist. He was twenty-two now, and you were twenty-seven. It didnât seem like much of an age gap now as it had seven years ago. He bit his lip, should he ask now?
After a few minutes of conflict, Peter opened his mouth to speak, until he realized you had⌠already fallen asleep.
âGreat,â Peter sighed, âThe one time I manage to muster up the courage to ask, and heâs asleep.â
âŚ
Another few months had passed. You were in the kitchen, going through your phone while making another cup of coffee for yourself, before you felt Peter wrap his arms around you from behind, resting his head in between your shoulder blades. âGood morning, handsome~â you teased, to which earned a groan in response. You had been dating for around four or five months, but it honestly felt like longer. Well, of course you were dating before making it official, you yourselves just didnât know it yet, but pepper sure knew, as well as morgan, Emily, May, Happy, and everyone else you knew.
âToday is the day,â you thought to yourself, handing Peter a cup of coffee as he opened up his tablet to begin working on lab assignments. He thanked you and you kissed his cheek, before leaving the kitchen to the lounge, sitting on the couch while waiting for Peter to join you. âTodayâs the day,â you repeated the thought, âIâm going to ask him, todayâs the day.â Peter eventually joined you and you cuddled for the whole day, Peter finishing his assignments all the while.
You checked your watch, sighing, âPete, I gotta go pick up Emily,â you said, kissing his cheek and nudging him off you. He whined, âIf we homeschooled Emily, you wouldnât have to worry about picking her up!â he whined, and you had to hold back a laugh. Peter had picked up Emilyâs habit of whining. You swore she was becoming more like Peterâs child every day.
âŚ
Peter began sleeping with you since you two began dating. It helped Peter with stress from work and his recurring nightmares of Tonyâs death. It also helped you, since you had trouble sleeping as well. One night, however, as you both were staying up late talking and kissing, a hesitant knock came at your door. You looked to each other before Peter sat up to allow whoever was knocking to come in. It was Emily and Morgan. âHey girls,â you sat up, voice calm and soothing, âWhatâs wrong?â
Morgan spoke up, âMomâs out of the tower right now and the storm outside is scaring us,â she admitted, and Emily nodded her head. You cooed, and Peter opened his arms for the two children to come into. They climbed into bed, sleeping in between you and Peter. Emily had her head against your chest, listening to your heartbeat as she hugged you. Morgan had her back against Peter, who was sleeping on his side, petting her hair gently. The two of you were shirtless, but warm from the blanket, and the girls loved it.
A loud crack of thunder scared them both, and Emily clung onto you. You looked at Peter, who had the same look of sympathy as you. You sighed softly and began humming a tune from a song youâd heard once, calming the kids down until their eyes began to droop closed. Eventually, they were sound asleep against the two of you. You smiled, seeing as Peter was beginning to look a bit tired as well. âPete,â you whispered, careful not to wake the girls, âMh?â he responded tiredly. You played with Emilyâs hair lovingly, running your hands through her h/c locks, the ones she inherited from you. âEmily really loves you, yâknow?â Peter smiled, âThatâs good to hear,â he said with a yawn.
âYeah, she really looks up to you, kinda makes me jealous,â you admitted. Peter leaned forward, not wanting to crush Morgan. âHm? Yeah.. I can tell she wants to follow in my footsteps, but itâs scary. If I mess up, she might too, you know what I mean?â Peter looked down at Emily, âI don't wanna be the villain in her storybook.â
You brushed Emilyâs bangs out of her face, nodding, âWelcome to my life. Itâs been hard ever since I divorced her mother. I donât recall ever telling you this, but her mother was an alcoholic, which is why I left her and took Emily with me. She was never physical, but yelled at Emily a lot, even though she was only two years old.â Peter nodded in understanding, âThat.. Iâm sorry about that,â he said, looking up at you. You shook your head, âDonât be. Itâs in the past, and Emily hardly remembers any of it now⌠but, her looking up to you, reminds me of how sheâd normally look up to a parent..â
Peter flushed red, âBut, Iâm just her uncleâŚâ
âYou donât have to be,â you said immediately after, and Peter looked as if he would cry, ây/n, don't tell me y-youâre..â
âPeter, I think... I think I want to marry you, have the life Emily and I never got to have with Amanda. I know it won't be exactly the same, seeing as weâre both men. But I know Emily won't mind, and honestly, thatâs all that I think should matter..â you looked up at Peter to see him crying, âOh, god, no Peter don't cry..!â you said but he just shook his head, before biting his lip and nodding, âIf youâre asking what I think youâre asking, then yes,â he said, a little choked.
âŚ
The next morning, you broke the news to Pepper, who was a little more than excited. You then told May, who threatened you with your life, going on about how if you ever broke Peterâs heart sheâd blah blah blah. You laughed at Peter's embarrassed face. Happy could have cared less, mumbling an âItâs about time, jeezâ. Then, you told Emily, who took a second to process it before she jumped up and hugged you both, kicking and jumping around and just being a happy little ray of sunshine. You and Peter could sayâ without a doubtâ her reaction, her happiness, that was what was most important, what made it all worth it. Time really has changed you and Peter both, and it was safe to assume you both wanted to keep it that way.

Taco Bout Hospital Service || Queenie and Kaden
TIMING:Â The late night after the mime stabbing incident PARTIES:Â @drqueenieking and @chasseurdeloup SUMMARY: Queenie babysits Kaden in the hospital. Thereâs sass.Â
Waking up in the hospital sucked. Kaden wasnât getting used to this and he hoped to god he wasnât going to, either. âRegan?â he said her name before he turned over to see if she was there. And, when he looked over, there was no one there. Fair enough. There was no reason she should be chained here just because he was, even if he sort of hoped sheâd be there. That said, this might be the one time he had the chance to make a break for it. He did a quick look around. Seemed clear enough. Heâd have to figure out where his clothes were, he wouldnât make it far in just this hospital gown, but fuck if he was staying in this place any longer than he had to. Kaden reached over to yank the IVs out of his arm dramatically as fucking possible for the tenth time tonight. And then someone walked into the room. Putain, hopefully it wasnât a medical professional. His hand shuffled quickly away and he sat up like nothing at all happened. Then his brow furrowed when he realized the woman in the doorway wasnât at all a doctor. âUh, can I help you? Who the hell are you?â
Sure, Queenie had missed date night for this. But despite the antagonistic relationship that she shared with Regan, she did consider her a friend. Plus, she knew how proud Regan was. It wouldnât have been easy for her to ask Queenie to look after this man. Or to admit that she trusted her to keep him safe. Queenie wasnât sure that she could have admitted it herself. Luckily, her husband had understood the situation. Queenie hadnât had time to stop home before grabbing her stuff, so unfortunately she had come into the hospital in her jeans, converse and a hot sauce taco bell shirt that had âI may be hot, but heâs fireâ written on it. She got more than a few odd looks as she rushed through the hospital to grab a lab coat and check on Kaden. Once she took a look at him and determined that he wasnât going to bleed out, she had left him unconscious in the room for a few hours while she went to grab food from the cafeteria and call her husband. She lost the lab coat somewhere in this process, and walked back in with perfect timing. Just as Regan had warned, the man didnât like hospitals. He perked up when she walked in, but it wasnât hard to tell that he had been fiddling with the tubes sticking out of his arms. âYou can help me by not messing with your Ivâsâ She glared at him, closing the door behind her and making her way over to the counter. âIâm your doctor. Well, unofficially Iâm your doctor. Trust me, youâre better off with me. My nameâs Dr. Lin-King. Considering my attire, you can call me Queenieâ She pulled some gloves free and pulled them on. âHow are you feeling?â
Was this lady in a fucking orange t-shirt and jeans seriously trying to tell him that she was his doctor? âUnofficially? What the fuck does that mean?â Kaden asked. He was tempted to hit the nurse call button bullshit to see what was going on but the last thing he wanted was to have two medical professionals in his room. Or three, who knew. When she turned around and headed to the counter, thatâs when he finally saw it. âIâm sorry, does that shirt say what I think it does? Are you actually a doctor, what the hell is going on here?â Oh great, and now she was putting on gloves. His eyes grew wide as his mind raced through what the fuck she planne on doing. Putain, he just wanted to get up and leave right then. Bolt. He could take her. Hell, he probably killed a guy earlier that night. This would be nothing. Even with the stab wounds and blood loss âI feel like I got stabbed, doc. But Iâm fine. All sewed up, ready to be anywhere but here.â
Queenie sighed, Regan had given her a forewarning but hadnât mentioned just how bad Kadenâs attitude would be. He was a real charmer, just like Regan. She understood why the two were so important to each other. âIt means that Regan asked me to keep an eye on you.â She answered nonchalantly. Speaking of their mutual friend, she could only imagine how horrified Regan would be to know that Queenie was working without the proper dress attire. âDepends on if you can read or not, but I hope weâre reading the same thing.â She came over to Kadenâs bed and checked the screen for any changes in vitals. She ignored the clipboard, she had spent enough time staring at the thing and memorizing everything earlier in the night while Kaden was still passed out. âSit still, youâre knocking your IVâs loose.â She warned him, grabbing at his arm to make sure that nothing had fallen out during his failed escape attempt. âOf course Iâm a real doctor. Regan interrupted my date night. Â Sheâll be back, by the way. She just needed to take care of a few things. She was very adamant that you are taken care of. And that you listen to whatever I say.â He definitely wasnât going to make this easy, was he? âStating the obvious doesnât help me. Try a scale. Pain, 1-10.â
So this was Reganâs doing. Suddenly it made a lot more sense. Kaden wasnât any less annoyed, however. His mouth spread in a thin line across his face as he held out his arm for her while she poked and prodded. Every part of him wanted to yank his arm away from her. But he also wanted her to leave already and Regan was right that cooperating was the easiest way to do that. He really hated that. âYeah well Iâd feel bad but a mime with a knife interrupted mine. Wait, thatâs what you wore to date night?â He grumbled as she made sure all the needles and whatnots were back in place and not going anywhere. âDid she say when sheâd be back?â Fucking soon, he hoped. He sighed. Seemed he was stuck with this Queenie for the moment. Great. âA one. Can I leave now?â Her face said no pretty clear as day. âFine. Six. Maybe 7. But I have a high pain tolerance. Animal control. Iâve survived worse than this. Do I really need to be here for days?â
âA mime with a knife? I knew they couldnât be trusted. What a wasted career path.â Perhaps Queenie would be driven to madness and have stabbed somebody too, if she had become a mime. Though obviously Queenie never would have never chosen to become a mime. âNever mind my attire. Iâm not the one in the hospital bed.â So it had been a date? Queenie had some theories, considering Reganâs state of mind when they met up at the hospital. âNo, but I assume it will be soon. She didnât want to leave you alone for too long.â She didnât bother gracing Kaden with a response. Clearly he was lying. She didnât care how badass he thought he was. Bumping into a wall was a one, stab wounds were at minimum a five. âYou can leave as soon as youâre healed up. However long that takes.â She did feel bad for the man. Being stabbed could not have been fun. And being stabbed by a mime just added insult to the injury. âWe stitched you back up when they brought you in last night. You had some internal bleeding, but with some rest and these IVâs youâll be good as new. Maybe a couple new scars. I need to check the wounds, sit still for me.â She made ready to peel it back the bandages to get a better look, but she wasnât going to waste her time alone with Kaden without some questions. âHow long have you and Regan been seeing each other?â
Kaden was oddly relieved to hear her distaste of mimes. At least they could agree on one thing. He was less thrilled about her attitude at the moment. It seemed like Regan had the better bedside manner, who knew. Still, didnât like her answer to how long he was stuck there. However long that takes. Well, shit. That was going to be less than they anticipated. Kaden wasnât sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. âWell hopefully it doesnât take long,â he grumbled. Kaden already wanted to squirm away from her as she went to look at his wounds; her questions only made it worse. He could run, right? Just roll right off of the bed and bolt out of this place. Thatâd be fine. It could work. No one would stop him. âDepends.â He sighed and lay still as he could fucking manage while she checked his wounds. He might as well cooperate. Not like he was going anywhere anytime soon. And he had a feeling she was the type to demand answers eventually. Might as well get it over with. âA few months. Why are you asking? How do you know her anyway?â
âTechnically by law Iâm not allowed to hold you here. We could be charged with false imprisonment.â Queenie felt obligated to tell the man, whose mumbling and grumbling certainly made Queenie wish that he would refuse their services and stumble out of the hospital so she could get home and go to sleep. But she really didnât need him bleeding out and Regan holding that against her. âBut weâd both have to put up with Regan then. So pick your battles.â Not to mention Queenie wasn't especially good at following the rules anyways. âI can see why the two of you get along. Youâre both stubborn as hell.â She rolled her eyes, peeling back the first bandage to get a better look. No sign of infection, which was a plus. But more than that, the wound looked surprisingly good for being less than a day old. It was still there, but the length of it had shortened, as if some of it had already begun healing. A puzzled look on her face, Queenie pushed at the some of the areas around the wound, âDo you feel any pain when I do this?â When she was done with the first, she swapped the bandage out for a clean one and moved onto the next stab wound. Same thing there as well. âEither I must be better at this than even I thought, or you have an extraordinary amount of red blood cells. This wound is healing surprisingly fast.â She explained absentmindedly, rebandaging the second wound and pulling her gloves off of her hands and discarding them in the trash. âWe went to med school together. Havenât had a lot of contact until I moved to Maine a few weeks ago, so Iâm very curious about her life now. Youâre an animal control officer? Does that mean you partner with the police department?â If so, very curious that Regan would find herself in a relationship with what could be construed as a coworker.
âPoint made.â Kaden was sure even if he left, Regan would drag him back kicking and screaming. He didnât know how, but he trusted sheâd find a way. His heartbeat picked up as she looked at the first wound. This might have been the first time he wished that he didnât heal quite so fast. Maybe she wouldnât notice. Merde. The look on her face said otherwise. She definitely noticed alright. Kaden winced at her touch, but it honestly wasnât that bad. He tried to exaggerate it a bit. âOh, yeah, it hurts, alright. I just got stabbed in the chest.â He fixed his gaze to the speckled shitty ceiling tiles as she moved on to the next one. He knew it wasnât going to be any better. Fuck. This is exactly why he hated hospitals. Shit like this. Having to explain it and hoping no one noticed. âRed blood cells, yeah. Must be that. Guess that means Iâll be out of here sooner than you think. Canât wait.â Thank god she was covering them back up, he didnât need her prolonging this any longer. If only that meant sheâd leave and stop asking him fucking questions. âMed school, huh? You know you could just ask her instead of grilling your patient.â He had to wonder how the two of them got along back in the day. Something about the way Queenie worked seemed diametrically opposed to how seriously Regan took every little rule. Â âI am, yeah. Technically have a badge and everything. So yeah, I partner with them but Iâm not exactly knee deep in murder investigations or shit like that. Mostly itâs just a lot of actual shit.â
A promise was a promise. From the looks of it, Kaden was going to be just fine, but Queenie wasnât going to leave his side until Regan was back. Hopefully that was sooner rather than later. Kaden clearly didnât want Queenie there any more than she wanted to be there herself. But she wasnât exactly mad at the opportunity to question someone so personal to Regan. Regan had always been so stoic, she wondered if that translated into her romantic life as well. Kaden seemed very shocked that his wounds had started healing so quickly, but perhaps the relief at the idea of getting out of the hospital was enough that Kaden didnât actually care. Still, it was peculiar. But Queenie was just here to make sure that Kaden survived and left the hospital, the rest didnât matter as much to her. âWell, Iâm sure you know how Regan can be. Itâs much easier to pry this information from a friend that has nowhere else to go right now.â Queenie grabbed the chair from the other side of the room and dragged it over closer to Kadenâs bed. She still kept her distance, they werenât friends or anything, but she figured since the two were stuck they may as well talk. âFascinating. A couple of people asked Regan out back in school. She never wanted to mix business with pleasure.â She reached into one of the drawers and pulled out a stack of magazines, flipping through them until she found one that interested her and she fell back into the chair, haphazardly glancing at the pictures as she flipped through. It was peculiar. He must have been someone special for her to break her own rule. âSo whatâd you do to piss that mime off?â
âRight. Pretty sure Iâm a little more than a friend but sure. I do. Still trying to figure out why you care.â Kaden sort of wondered if he should really be telling this woman all this about Regan. Then again, she had asked her to watch him. She must trust her well enough, right. âWhat kind of friends were in school anyway? Didnât even keep contact?â Part of him wanted to ask more about what sheâd been like in school, find out how much had changed since then. He figured heâd have to play along a bit longer til he got to ask the fucking questions. If he could last that long talking to the doctor. âGood to know thatâs a long standing thing with her.â Was she fucking settling in? Shit. Regan really had put her on babysitting duty. And she had magazines? For fuckâs sake. He was finding it harder and harder to believe the two of them had ever been close. Still, had to admit he was a little jealous she had something to occupy herself with. Heâd take anything at this point. A coin to flip, paper clip to bend, rubber band to fucking snap, anything he could do with his hands beyond fiddle with the edge of a sheet. Or contemplate trying one more time for the IV. Sitting still with nothing to do was going to fucking kill him soonere than any stab wounds. He turned and shot her a look while she continued to flip through her magazine. âIâm sorry am I fucking boring you?â He sighed and went back to counting dots on the ceiling tiles. âAnd yeah, trust me, she told me all about how she doesnât make friends at work. Let alone date colleagues. Sheâs also said she doesnât consider our jobs to have enough overlap for her to worry too much. Considering I donât normally deal with human death and cantâ even make arrests, sheâs probably right,â he said with a small shrug. He wasnât sure how much of that he really believed but at the same time, it was hard for him to think he was some sort of exception. There was no way Regan would break her self imposed rules for the likes of him, right? He turned back to Queenie at her question, eyes narrowed and face scrunched in incredulous confusion. âPutain, really?â He groaned. âI did not piss off a mime, he barged in the restaurant and attacked me out of nowhere. The hell kind of doctor are you anyway? Asking shit like that.â
More than a friend? This was even better than Queenie had imagined. To think, Regan had neglected to mention this when the two were reconnecting. She would just have to ask her about this Kaden fellow. Maybe invite them over for a double date night. After Kaden was released, obviously. Though she wasnât sure how well her husband would fare against Regan and Kaden. Regan didnât have much of a funny bone in her body, and Kaden didnât seem particularly chipper. And that was coming from Queenie, who had often been described as a mixture of both of those same qualities. âYes, well the two of us were more focused on the educational aspects of Med School. We wanted to be the best. In a way, that kept us from making a lot of friends. And also made us⌠unique friends ourselves.â Any of their classmates may have assumed that the two hated each other or at the very least competed with each other for top spot. That was true, but throughout that they also developed a sort of kinship. Queenie was flipping through her magazine when Kaden asked if he was boring her. âWell you certainly arenât the friendliest conversation. But Iâm multitasking.â She shrugged, reaching over to hold up the stack of magazines, âYou want one too?â He probably was going a little stir crazy in the bed, though considering the look of the wounds he would probably be here for another day or two max. All things considered, for two stab wounds to the chest that was a short trip. âRight, of course.â Queenie didnât believe it and she didnât think Kaden did either. But Regan was fantastic at rationalizing things to herself. Of course she would find a workaround in her own logic to date Kaden. âHey, Iâm here off duty. Usually I couldnât care what brought someone into the hospital unless it pertains to the operation. Weâre stuck here until Regan gets back, figured Iâd ask some questions. We can sit here in complete silence if youâd rather have it that way.â
âGuess that doesnât surprise me. With how seriously she takes work and all,â Kaden responded. He was still curious what kind of friends that made the two women if they were always competing against each other for the top spot. âIâd ask who ended up being the best in your class, you or her, but I have a feeling youâre not going to give me the unbiased take.â Not that it mattered much to him either way, he just wanted to see what kind of response heâd get; what else he could dig out of her. He still didnât like how quickly she'd settled in over there; âYeah well Regan asked you to be here, not me." He raised a brow as she handed him a stack of random magazines. He didnât really want to read a single one but he was desperate. "Fine," he said as he reached out and took one off the stack and started rolling it into a tube in his hands. Less reading material, more fidget device at the moment. It felt better already just having something to do with his hands. Didn't do a whole lot to lessen how much he wanted to get up and run out of there, but it was something at least. âAgain, I didnât ask for a babysitter.â He sighed and the room was quiet for a moment, nothing but the hum of the fluorescent lights and the occasional drip from the bag of fluids. She may have had a point. âFine. Anything else you want to you know?â
Queenie nodded in agreement. Of the two, Regan would most likely win that battle. Both took their jobs seriously, but Queenie had always been more open to more rule bending than Regan was. In that sense, Regan was about as serious as they came. âThat doesnât matter.â Queenie shot a look over at Kaden. At the end of the day, how the two fared in med school didnât matter at all. Because neither of them had ended up at the top. Dr. Chonksky had swooped in under their noses and stolen that from the two of them. And look how she had ended up. What a wasted career. âAnother doctor ended up at the top of the class. Shame what happened to her.â She shook her head and flipped another page in her magazine. Kaden messing with the pages of the magazine was slightly irritating, but Queenie relented. Queenie didnât reply to Kaden, just sat in silence for a while until he finally spoke again, a knowing smirk crossing her face. Just as she had figured. âIâve covered my bases. I wonât hound you too much for information. Iâll leave some of my interrogating for Regan herself. You got anything for me? Itâs only fair.â
Kadenâs brows furrowed. âUh, what happened to her?â Not that he sincerely cared but the way she said it, it was hard not to be even a little bit curious. He drummed his fingers on the magazine before flipping through to see if there was anything remotely worth looking at. Couldn't say he was impressed. He turned to her at her question. âI mean, you covered a lot.â He paused to think if there was anything more he wanted to know. Then he caught a flash of orange. âThatâs right. I need to know. You really went out in public in that shirt?â
Queenie shook her head at Kadenâs question, deeply sighing before answering him. âShe became a plastic surgeon.â There was a hint of disgust and disappointment in her voice. Perhaps her tone had made him believe she had died or something. But some things were worse than dead. Queenie was still bitter that she had wasted all of her talent to become a plastic surgeon. What a tragedy. âIâm thoroughâ Queenie grinned, proud of herself. She had to admit that Regan fascinated her. Though it seemed that much had stayed the same with her, so much had changed as well. Of course, that was to be expected with anyone over time. But Regan had always seemed so opposed to change that Queenie honestly thought the woman might never age through sheer stubbornness. âOf course I didâ Queenie glanced down at her shirt, wondering what could be wrong with it. âOh, you must be confused because thereâs no fire, like the joke implies. My husband was wearing the fire shirt. Make more sense?â
Kadenâs face scrunched up and his eyes narrowed. Plastic surgery? Was⌠was that supposed to mean something? âOh. Yeah. Of course. Plastic surgery. What a failure.â At least it was nice to learn that all doctors were weird and intense and not just Regan. He wasnât sure if that was comforting or not. Or that he really needed two people like that in his life. Granted, at the moment, it seemed like he didnât have a choice, Just when he thought he couldn't be more confused, she explained the shirt. Well, she tried to explain it at least. His head tilted as he looked over her outfit again. âYeah I got that much. More confused why you both wore matching shirts in the first place. Is that a thing? That you do?â Oh god, did couples do that? That sounded awful. Maybe a death curse was preferable to that. Mimes, maybe not.
Queenie nodded as if this was completely common knowledge, âIâm glad you agree with me. No wonder Regan likes you.â There were a lot of reasons that Queenie could see the two together. Ironically, there were also a lot of reasons why she was still seemingly unable to shove the two of their puzzle pieces together. She was still having a hard time processing the professional and personal mixing of the two. Definitely something worth discussing with Regan at a later date. Once her boyfriend was out of the hospital. âHow are others supposed to know that weâre w- a couple if we arenât wearing matching shirts?â She had almost said winning but changed her mind at the last moment. She needed to calm herself down, she didnât actually know this man. âEvery date night we usually wear something coordinated. Itâs like our thing.â She added as if this was the most common thing in the world. âOkay, fine. Admittedly I thought it was a bit weird at first too. But after a while it really starts to grow on you. Just wait until the four of us go on a double date and we all wear Taco Bell shirts. You and Regan can be mild.â

                       -----------------------------
You were getting better at marching.
Maybe because you had a ray of hope.
You had Finn back, and it was no longer you and Poe against a force that was simply too strong for you.
Once you had filled him in about your plan of escape, you gave him a few tasks that might help prevent the failure of said plan and the inevitable punishment from the First Order.
And so you were definitely getting better at marching.
Part of you wanted to see Poe and tell him everything while probably crying, but you knew that would put your plan in trouble. This had to convince even him.
General Hux would certainly question you going into his cell to cry anyway.
You would have time to weep when you and your little family were safe.
Finn had to be able to manage his very delicate tasks if you were going to get there, and you were not about to mess the entire plan up with your emotions.
Poe's execution was less than a day away. In fact, it would be later this evening.
If things didn't go according to your hastily put together ideas, you would stand there in front of probably every member of the First Order, having to kill Poe or admit everything which would likely result in the death of you both.
You were pretty sure Finn had been working all night, though, and even a couple things being accomplished would be more than enough.
Would it be enough?
It had to be. There was barely any time to think up something more.
Didn't the good guys always win? Or was that disproved when the First Order took out almost the entire Resistance and took over planet after planet?
You decided to believe that it would all work out.
Even though you were pacing back and forth nervously in your room, nearly jumping through a wall as someone knocked on your door.
You ran to open it in hopes that it was Finn and hid your disappointment at the sight of General Hux standing there. "Hux. General."
"I came to retrieve you myself."
"Retrieve me?" Your heart started to beat a little faster. Was it time for Poe's execution already?
The man seemed almost giddy which wasn't comforting. "Follow me."
You watched him in your fear for a moment, then quickly walked after him as he swiftly swept down the corridor. He lead you down one you weren't sure you'd been that didn't seem to hold any offices or cells, but rather rooms that were for storage.
He typed in a code for a room and stepped aside to allow you entry first when the door slid open, like he was a gentleman or something.
No gentleman would let you in so proudly to the room that he had.
It was an arsenal; various models of blasters were on the wall, tables held different sizes of daggers, there were far too many weapons simply to bludgeon people with, and there was a wall of taser staves that made you flinch instinctively.
General Hux stood by you with his chin raised high. "What do you think?"
"It's...beautiful?" Your unsure answer came out more like a question.
Why wouldn't your legs stop trembling?
Did Hux notice it?
You glanced at him nervously from the corner of your eye to see him continuing to look at the weapons he seemed to adore.
You had felt yourself bonding with this man.
Maybe you needed to remember what sort of person he really was.
Hating Kylo Ren and having favorite things didn't make him a good man.
"Pick one."
"One what?"
"You need to choose a weapon for the execution of Poe Dameron." He walked over to the wall of blasters. "A shot would be quick and efficient, but boring."
"Shooting him is boring?" You were really remembering the kind of man he was.
"Why shoot him when you can take out your hatred on him?" He gestured almost excitedly to one of those weapons you could bludgeon someone with.
"That sounds rather messy." You were only saying words as you struggled not to pass out.
"I love to watch him whimper when he's about to be tased." He was too busy admiring all the weapons to notice you swaying on your feet.
"Would that kill him?" You had to think of something quickly.
You had to pick a weapon that would help you and Poe.
A blaster was a nice weapon, but you knew there would be a lot of people anticipating you killing him and you couldn't kill them all with a single blaster.
You couldn't beat everyone to death either.
There were some weapons in a case that looked like they would detonate which would be convenient for your purposes, but would look suspicious as a choice to execute someone.
Whatever you chose would be a last resort if your plan didn't work out.
Maybe you could work it into the plan.
"I want a dagger."
"A dagger?"
"I can stab him in all the places that won't kill him." That was dark, but what wasn't?
"Very well." The answer satisfied him, and he nodded for you to choose one from the table.
You looked them over and picked up a rather small one that seemed like it would be good for distracting and stalling.
General Hux was standing closer than you wanted when you turned around and you backed against the table with a soft gasp. You moved back so much that you were going to have a mark in your skin.
"I didn't mean to frighten you." He touched your chin, sure that you were simply surprised and not trying to escape from the madman. "I can tell that you are in your element in this room."
"Oh? Oh." The fear of being evil and turning into something you never imagined shot through you, but was overpowered by your fear of Hux.
He probably only leaned in a centimeter and you were already leaning away, turning your face so he didn't have access to your lips.
You felt him stop mere inches from kissing your jaw, sensing his utter confusion. You wondered if your lie came so easily since you had been lying so much lately.
"I'm tired. I want to sleep." You almost sighed with relief when he moved away from you.
"I will send someone to wake you when it's time for the execution."
All you could think of was when you were young, unaware of wars and evil beings, whining when your parents would wake you in the morning.
You would take sleepy mornings tending to the garden instead of well-rested evenings killing your closest friend any day.
                      ---------------------------
The dagger in your pocket felt weighted as you walked down the hallway.
It briefly occurred to you that you could use it on someone who could help you gain access to something that would get you out of there in a less roundabout way than your current plan, but you were pretty sure it would draw attention and your tiny weapon would not defend you against multiple blasters.
You'd chosen it because you could use it to deceive all who were watching anyway. You didn't get it as an actual weapon.
Maybe you should have chosen a blaster and shot Hux right there.
That thought made you feel guilty. You were not sure you would be any calmer shooting him point blank than you had been when you had to kill that innocent
You didn't go to your room to take a nap like you told him; you weren't sure if you would be able to get any rest now that everything was so close.
Instead you made your way to a long corridor that held the stormtroopers' quarters, looking for a door with FN-2187 written next to it â in temporary letters in case a solider needed replaced. You found the door and looked around to make sure no one was watching, knocking lightly.
There was an immediate answer in the form of Finn standing in the now open doorway, in the simple clothes stormtroopers wore under their armor. "Not here. Eyes. I think who you're looking for is in the storage room by the dining hall."
You stared at him in confusion, then realized that you were probably almost constantly being watched and he was guiding you to a place where you could speak privately.
Had they seen when you told him everything and kissed him back into sanity? Hux hadn't indicated knowing anything like that.
The storage room was pretty small, holding basic necessities that even the First Order needed to live, but you managed to pace back and forth anyway as you waited for Finn to come.
He walked in a couple minutes after you had arrived, hurriedly shutting the door and looking at you.
"Did you do it?"
"I did it."
"Andâ"
"There was a response."
You smiled.
He nodded, looking relieved and terrified, then glanced at the door. You couldn't stay in the storage room for long or you might be discovered by someone.
Upon him gesturing for you to leave first, you walked over to the door.
It didn't open for a moment, your hand on the wall as you paused.
"Hey, Finn? I hope this works." Expressing your doubt and fear out loud seemed to lift a bit of weight; you were still plenty weighed down, since the rest of the plan was pretty much all on you.
"Me too."
You turned and ran to him, wrapping your arms around him tightly. "I love you, Finn. You're a good guy."
He squeezed you back. "You're crazy. And awesome. We won't have to run anymore."
Whether it was being free of the First Order or being killed by them, neither of you were entirely sure.
The two of you embraced a moment longer and then stepped apart.
"I'm going to be one of the stormtroopers standing guard by Poe. See you in a couple hours."
"Thank you."
You gave each other another look, remembering the details of friendly faces should the plan lead to your intense torture.
Then you went to your room and prepared yourself to defeat the First Order or be defeated.

Think Again (When You Stop Freaking Out) - Pt.1
Good Morning... Me?
Pairing: None          Word count: 1586
Warnings: language, hella lot confusion, vomiting, blindness, sensory overload, ... irony and sass? ;)
Summary: Matt doesnât feel like Matt. Steve doesnât feel like Steve. How did that happen?
Story Masterlist
ââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚâ
Matt Murdock woke up with a startle and found out he was blind.
Now that wasnât a strange occurrence. Unfortunately, Matt had been waking up unable to see for the past two decades, ever since he had been in an accident involving messed up chemicals and an act of spontaneous heroism on his side. In return, he had gained extremely enhanced senses and with time, he had learned to use them to see.
Which was exactly what was wrong at the moment.
Matt woke up⌠feeling blind.
The room he was in was strangely silent, no intrusive smells attacking his nostrils, no distinctive taste on his tongue, no extremely smooth sensation on his skinâ gripping the sheets, he was very sure these werenât his silk ones, this was not how silk felt and yet, the sheets werenât scratching his skin so hard it would make him cry. Matt would think they were simple cotton, but this was not how it supposed to feel.
And he fucking couldnât map the room as he couldnât pinpoint his radar sense; his world of fire lacked fire.
He snapped his eyes open, his breathing raged, sitting up with a jolt.
He was not ready for the picture in front of him.
After all, this kind of picture only existed in his memories. This kind of picture had colours. Sharp edges, painfully so, as if every freaking atom had its place. Then again, Matt wouldnât be a good judge of the state of his eye-sight, he couldnât tell if it was 20/20, because he couldnât remember what it felt like.
What could tell and was hundred percent sure of, was that⌠yeah, he could definitely see.
It freaked the shit out of him.
Feeling the bile rising to his mouth, his body jumped up on instinct, taking a bee line to the bathroom. It was only after he emptied his stomach that he realized that he had no clue which bathroom it was and how he had known where to go.
ââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚâ
Several blocks over, a man jolted awake, snapping his eyes open, only to be met with darkness.
He gasped, blinking, but there was nothing. His heart started hammering in his chest, a strange sensation vibrating through his ribcage, warmth spreading into his body with each thumb-thumb. A fraction of second later, the noise of the city assaulted his ears and hit him like a train â a train passing him by inches. He jumped back, hitting the wall behind him, quickly rolling over, falling off bed and shooting to his feet, his arms raised and fists curled up.
The noise didnât fade out, making him raise his hands to his ears.
There was a weak taste of mint toothpaste in his mouth, barely covering other strange tastes he couldnât quite place. His nose was itching with at least twenty different smells, mingling together and overwhelming his brain, easily causing him a headache. Not to mention his whole body was aching and he felt like every freaking cell of his body was alerting him on pain.
He thought the sweatpants he wore felt soft, yet there was an itch against his skin, as if they were made of the roughest fabric he ever felt. His balance was complete shit â the room around him pounded, the floor shaking with what he was sure was a subway train riding right under his feet and on top of all that, he was still in darkness, a strange darkness that felt somehow vibrant, flashes calling out for him.
What the hell was happening?
Calm down, soldier. You know better than to freak out. Deep breaths- oh god, so many smells, breathing in deeply was so not a good idea-- focus. Think of it as of a recon mission. In a very loud environment that resembles a battlefield, but those you know too.
Yeah, but going in this blind is a bit unusual.
Three quick knocks â and he would swear he felt them echoing in his bones, his ears pretty much bleeding with that sound â snapped his mind from racing.
âMatthew, I swear to God, if you donât open the door, Iâllâ⌠use my own key,â somewhat familiar voice threatened, apparently changing his mind in mid-sentence and offering a less violent solution.
It didnât matter. Because he was in some serious trouble. The voice was too loud, joined by cacophony of tens others whispering or yelling in his head, everything felt wrong, his head hurt and apparently, he was in some Mattâs home.
He couldnât remember drinking last night, but he made himself a promise. Steve Rogers swore that he would not get within a ten feet distance to Thorâs Asgardian liquor ever again.
ââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚââŚâ
Exiting the bathroom after a very long shower â and about an hour spend on the floor, trying to wrap his mind around the fact that the tiles didnât feel as hard as they should against his knees, his body feeling overall wrong, definitely not his, and oh yeah, he could fucking see â, brushing his teeth for at least three times (why did the toothpaste taste so faintly againâŚ?), and examining himself in the mirror â blond? He was blond now? â he went to examine the space he had woken up in.
The apartment was rather plain, but definitely belonged to a well-situated person, only if judging by the fact Matt found himself in at least thirtieth floor. During his freak-out, he had come to a bit unorthodox and, letâs be honest, totally insane conclusion, that he had been in a body of someone else. A steroid-freak, by the way, because what the hell, Matt was sure this amount of muscle tissue could not be natural, what was the guy doing apart from drugs? So yeah, that was a thing.
The thing was, there wasnât much else to go on. He discovered an impressive closet, ranging from work-out clothes (wow, so many work-out outfits), comfortable homey sweats and t-shirts  and hoodies (Mattâs clothing of choice for now), to shirts and suits (not too many, which was strange, because again, rich guy, clearly).
In the nightstand, there were two sketchbooks (one extremely well worn) and Matt was no expert, but the drawings in it â mostly pretty random â were quite good. Huh. Rich. Freaky-ripped. Most likely on steroids. Handsome though. Artistic. Matt was surprised he didnât find a womanâs (or manâs, whatever) underwear lying around at least, because this guy could to be a playboy for sure.
This guy. In whose body Matt was now, waking up, just like that.
He ran his hand down his face.
âGood morning to me,â he murmured, not even startled by the strangerâs voice which was â naturally â not his own.
âGood morning, Captain Rogers,â a female voice with thick Irish accent sounded above him and Matt jumped back, immediately raising his fists to protect himself (not himself) from the intruder (who might actually live here, unlike him). He saw no one.
Saw no one. Hilarious, Murdock.
He squinted, looking around, which was something he was not used to goddammit, he was supposed to sense the person coming, but while he guessed his hearing was alright for an average person, he was definitely not fine.
âMay I be of any assistance?â the woman asked and Matt tilted his head in attempt to locate her better, which was perfectly useless.
What, was she invisible? Because that would be so fucking ironic he might even laugh. Able to see after two decades and the first person I meet is invisible. Congratulation, Universe, you managed to fuck it up again.
âN-no,â Matt tried out, hoping the weird⌠thing? Person? Would disappear and leave him alone to his inspection.
âApologies, Sir. You seemed confused.â You have no idea. âAnd you were sick. Shall I inform anyone about your-â
âNo, thank you. Iâll do it myself,â he blurted out, not even caring it probably didnât sound very convincing.
âUnderstand, Sir.â
Matt slightly shook his head, easing his fighting stance and allowing himself to breathe in. He didnât even know how he would fight. The self-awareness of his body, his ability to control the incredible mass was way too low, but hell, he would not have had a choice. And who knew, he might be able to pull out few moves, this body clearly remember something..
Because apparently, he was a captain. Captain Rogers. He thanked God he had a name now, at least. Now, if he would meet someone, he would at least know to turn around if someone addressed him.
It actually made sense, this guy being military. Retired maybe? Then again, he seemed fast and agile, which he would expect from an active soldier, but he wasnât exactly an expert.
He wondered for a brief moment if he should call Foggy, but he quickly dismissed the idea. Firstly, he only found a locked phone, which sucked, secondly, he still had no idea where he was, thirdly, he didnât want to put his friend in danger, and finally, he was aware that if someone called Foggy, claiming he was his best friend and business partner, but had woken up in the wrong body, Foggy would probably hang up anyway.
With a deep breath, he walked through the room, gathering courage to exit the relatively safe space. Gripping the handle â which cried under his determined hold, the material curving, what the hell, steroids, seriously - he opened the door, feeling like Alice going down the rabbit hole.
âAlright, Captain Rogers. Letâs do some recon.â

Overwhelming Alternatives - Part 1 of 3
Summary: Jensen Ackles loves women. Â The way they smell. Â The way they taste. Â The way their hips sway when they walk away from him, looking back with that knowing look in their eyes. Â Hell, he canât even look at one of his best friends, Y/N, without picturing her naked.
So can someone please explain to him why heâs fantasizing about his co-worker Jared Padalecki?
Created for @spnkinkbingo
Square Filled: Sexuality Crisis
Warnings: Smut. Lots and lots of smut. Â Masturbation. Porn watching. MMF. 18+ only!
Pairings: Jensen Ackles x Jared Padalecki; Eventually Jensen x Y/N X Jared
Word Count On this Chapter: 5,300 or so
A/N: Hiiiiii! Â Its been sooo long and I have missed so many wonderful fics out there. Â I am dying to catch up! Â Iâve had this fic sitting in my drafts and itâs finally ready to post. Â This will eventually be a threesome, so if thatâs not your thing please be forewarned. The other two chapters of this will fill some of my other kink bingo squares.
Please note, this is unbetaâd. Â Any and all grammatical errors are mine. Â (And Iâm sure there are PLENTY. :))
"Fuck Jen! Â Hold still would ya'?!"
"I'm trying but your big sausage fingers keep pinching me!"
Jensen Ackles could practically hear the smirk coming from behind him as his co-star and best friend Jared Padalecki rubbed at the fake blood caught under the collar of his shirt behind his neck. Â
And he desperately hoped one of his favorite people in the world couldn't feel the shudder of his body as his fingers dipped into the sensitive top part of his spine. The tingles quickly spread out into the wide set of his shoulders and down into his fingertips making them itch with the need to reach behind him and grab Jared by the hip and bring his full body against his back.
FUCK.
He needed to stop this nonsense. Â He wasn't gay. Â He didn't like guys. Â In fact, he LOVED women. Â The way they smelled. Â They way they tasted. Â They way they whined into his ear when he was balls deep with their ankles around his neck.
Annnnnnnd he needed to stop that freight train of thought as his already half hard dick started filling out into a full blown, humiliating, hard on, in front of the remaining crew on set.
"Allright, allright Jay. Â The rest'll come out when I get in the shower back in my trailer. Â I just didn't want it dripping down my back."
And damned if that didn't just bring unwanted (cause they were UNWANTED...right?) images of something alot more pleasant and alot more white dripping down his back........
Jared let out a high pitched laugh as he playfully massaged his fingers into Jensen's neck, "Wasn't it nice and warm though, Jen?"
With a deep clearing of his throat, side eye and a conspicuous adjustment of his jeans, Jensen reached for his jacket and slung it on, "I won't even dignify that with an answer. Â So uh, I'll see you in a little while? Â We still on for Madden?"
Jared flipped his hair out of his eyes as he also reached for his coat, seemingly oblivious to his friends discomfort,"Yeah, sure thing. Â Gotta shower and then I'll meet you at your trailer in about an hour."
With a quick fist pound and a wave to the few people on set, Jensen and Jared parted ways as they made their way to their respective trailers. Â It had been a long day with an early 4:00 AM call but production issues had them calling it quits at 5:00 PM. Â
But despite the hectic schedule, two and a half seasons into the show "Supernatural", Jensen was still pumped to come to work everyday. Â It definitely helped that everyone on set truly did get along and it was a blessing that he and his co-star had gotten so close, so fast.
What didn't help was the increasing drive to see Jared's cock that had somehow, someway meandered into his every waking moment. Â A drive that he had never, not once, had from another man. Â And he had been hit on pretty frequently over his career being an actor and having, what he'd been told, were the sweetest dick-sucking lips some of them had ever seen.
But regardless of all that, the only thing he had wanted to eat was a nice, wet pussy. Â He loved that shit. Â Savored it. Â And never, not once, had he ever tried to replace it with a dick.
Until Jared.
Jensen sighed in frustration as he dressed in a pair of black sweats, sans underwear, and a white t-shirt, after his long, hot shower, where he had deliberately denied himself even a quick, rub and tug.
He wasn't gay dammit. Â And he wasn't going to start giving into these dark emotions that had been slowly increasing over the past two and half years. Â
Fucking Jared.
And his big shoulders.
And solid abs.
And his goofy hair.
And his fucking dimples.
And those ridiculous yellow-green eyes.....
.....that practically sparkled at him whenever he laughed at some sarcastic comment Jensen threw his way.
Fuck but he needed to get laid. Â
And fast. Â
It had been three long months since he last sunk his dick into a warm willing body and that had been from a one night stand at a random bar in Downtown Vancouver. Â Despite the success of the show, they were still relatively unknown enough that it was easy to go out without getting bombarded by fans. Â But both of them were still careful with who they took home. Â
Crazy sometimes wore a pretty face and a hot body.
Just as Jensen had settled into his deep, fluffy couch with the remote in his hand, his phone rang and a sweet smile and sexy eyes looked up at him from the picture on his cell. Â
With a smile of his own, Jensen picked up the phone, "Hey Gorgeous. Â Whats doin'?"
"Hey, Ackles," Y/N chirped into his ear, Â "What's cookin'?"
Y/N Y/L/N was the Production Coordinator on the show and sometimes Jensen thought her job was the hardest of them all, practically running the ship behind the scenes, managing all the Production Assistants and dealing with all the whining that comes with it. Â Even though they had a good crew, people were still human and lord knows they needed someone to bitch to when they felt they weren't being appreciated. Â But Y/N handled it all with grace and a firm hand. Â She was respected by everyone on set and, if Jensen was being honest with himself, everyone, male and females included, were already half in love with her. Â
Jensen was lucky to call her one of his closest friends......and if he sometimes pictured her naked, well, it was only natural. Â She was beautiful, intelligent and sarcastic as hell and he was by no means a saint.
"Waitin' on Jared to finish conditioning his hair. Â He's gonna come over and get his ass kicked in Madden."
Y/N let out a husky laugh in his ear and Jensen shifted as his dick twitched at the sexy sound. Â Maybe he should have considered underwear.
"So another two hours then?" Â She deadpanned.
"Nah. Â I think deep conditioning was yesterday. Â He should be here soon."
"Ha! Â Okay," Â Y/N let out a slight sigh in his ear and it sounded almost melancholy.
"Hey, whats wrong? Â You okay?"
"Yeah....I mean....yeah I'm fine. Â It's just....I broke up with Chad."
Jensen's ears perked up at the name of Y/N's, now, ex-boyfriend, "Wow, I'm, uh, really sorry to hear that, Honey."
Y/N let out a snort, "No, you're fucking not. Â I know you hated him. Â You made it pretty clear every time you saw him."
With a chuckle, Jensen shrugged, "You're right. Â I did fucking hate him. Â He didn't deserve you. He was a jerk who was starting to become a possessive asshole. Â And his name was Chad. Â It's almost a pre-requisite that douche bags are named Chad. Â But, uh, why did you finally see the light?"
There was silence on the other end for a a bit before she answered, "He, um, tried to tell me that I was getting too close to you and Jared and that I needed to stop being friends with you outside of work. Â So I told him to fuck off and take a hike."
Jensen let out a snort of his own, "That's my girl," Â At the continued silence, he cleared his throat slightly, Â "Are you okay? Â I mean, listen, even though I hated the guy, I'm not the one who's gotta be with him. Â You know I'll support you no matter what and I don't want to be the reason you're not with someone that you maybe....love-"
"Yeah, no. Â There wasn't any love there," Â She quickly interrupted before heaving another sigh, "I was just....I dunno...lonely I guess? Â The hours we work are brutal and he was, Â you know, around. Â Whatever, what's done is done and honestly no ones gonna tell me I cant hang with my two favorite pain in the asses."
Jensen didn't acknowledge the thrill that ran through him at her words. Â He was just gonna ignore the hum of content that made him smile. Â She was his friend, (hot, sexy, beautiful friend), "Do you wanna come over and hang with us? Â Take your mind off of things?"
"Thanks. Â I may take you up on that later on tonight. Â I'll text you."
"I still got a bottle of Stoli Razz here from last time if you're interested in getting obliterated." Â
"Ahhh, Ackles. Â You always know just what I need. Â Talk soon."
With a smile and a goodbye, Jensen ended the call. Â Since he'd started talking to Y/N on a more personal level about a year ago, she had been with Jerk-off-Chad. Â And despite his sexual attraction to her, he'd always kept her in his off limits category. Â Even without her having a boyfriend, he didn't want to jeopardize what they had. Â He respected her way too much for that.
So then why did he have a sudden vision of her on her back while he licked between her legs?
Fuuuuck he realllly needed to get laid.
First Jared and now Y/N.
Both people he loved and cared for deeply as friends. Â And his perverted mind was making them into sexual conquests.
Maybe a quick rub and tug was just what the doctor ordered.
With a quick glance at the time, Jensen realized he still had a good twenty minutes before he could expect Jared to knock on his trailer door. Â Plenty of time to relieve some of the ache his too full balls were giving him.
He quickly pulled his lap top over from its resting place on the side table next to his couch and brought up one of his favorite porn sites. Â (Yes, he had favorites and if you asked him he'd tell you he had his go-to videos categorized and in corresponding folders. Â Fuck anyone's opinion. Â He was twenty-eight, almost twenty-nine with no steady girlfriend. Â His hand rarely left his dick when he was alone.) Â
In a rush, he picked a random video that looked good and pressed play before placing it back on the side table with the screen facing him. Â A deep moan drifted from the speakers as he saw a girl kneeling in front of a huge dick before she swallowed it down in one gulp, lovingly rubbing the balls underneath. Â Another loud moan drifted from the speakers.
Shit. Â Way too loud. Â No need to have one of the crew walk by his trailer and have a story to tell the others tomorrow morning. Â
Quickly, Jensen reached over for his ear buds and plugged them in before setting his phone to vibrate and placing it next to him so he could feel it. Â Jared would text before he came over. Â He always did.
Reaching down, Jensen wrapped a hand over the slowly rising bulge in his sweatpants and bit his lip. Â He caressed the head through his pants and was glad the pants were black. Â Wet spots on the crotch of grey pants were never a good look. Â
And the close ups of the chick's wet pussy and spit slicked swollen mouth were making his cock start doing a steady drip-drip.
He pulled his shirt up over the flat panes of his stomach before squeezing his cock and adjusting it so it lay underneath the band of his pants, the swollen head peaking out of the top as he brought his thumb around the wetness, coating it before letting out a moan of his own. Â He liked to tease himself. Â Draw it out a little bit before the end result.
"Fuck baby," Big-dick guy said on a gasp from his place on a brown couch, "Suck it. Â Yeah...just like that."
The blue eyed blond on her knees let out a whine before releasing the cock with a pop, "So big," She said as she rapidly stroked him from root to tip, "I don't think I can suck this all by myself." Â
"Mmmm," Â Big-dick hummed with a dirty grin, "Lucky for us we got some help."
Well, shit. Â He had picked a threesome video without even knowing it. Â Two chicks sucking on one dick? Â Every. Guys. Fantasy. Â Bring it on.
The camera panned back into the guys lap as the blonde licked up the side of his cock and a shaggy dark haired head bent down and took the guys balls into his mouth.
Well that was a shorter hair-cut than he was expecting on a chick....
The blonde reached down and grabbed the head of hair and brought the lips of the other person to hers, tongues dangling in the air, "Hey baby..." She said on a breath, before bringing the tip of the big dick to her partners mouth and tapping it against the pursed lips surrounded by a five o'clock shadow-
Wait.
What?
Five O'clock shadow?
And to his surprise and wide eyed gaze, he watched as the dude on screen sucked down the cock in front of him with a deep growl, his shaggy hair being moved out of the way by the blonde as she waited her turn.
And instead of his dick deflating into nothing, he let out a noise he would later deny to himself as he ripped his cock out of his sweats and started rapidly stroking his dick as the guy on screen let out slutty noises and tongued down the other dudes dick before sloppily kissing the blonde with the cock in between their lips.
"Fuck, I love this dick," The guy gasped, "Want it all the time."
The blonde giggled and the camera panned to where she was running her finger around his puckered hole, "You want it here baby?"
And as the guy on his knees let out a groan, threw his head back and made his dark hair flutter around his face, Jensen let out the slightest of squeaks as he pulled roughly on his rock hard cock and he felt the pull in his balls become an onslaught of come,"Fuuuuuuuck!"
Sticky white liquid shot out of his cock and onto his stomach as he quickly realized that the reason he came so hard and so long was cause the guy on the screen was a look alike of the guy currently standing with his mouth open at his doorway.
"Jared!"
Shit.
With another squeak, Jensen slammed the laptop shut, ripped his ear buds out and quickly stuffed himself back into his sweatpants before standing up on shaky legs.
Jared blinked at him wide eyed and pink cheeked as he closed his mouth and swallowed hard, closing the trailer door softly behind him, "Uhhhh, Dude, you ever, uh, consider locking your door, if you're gonna jerk the chicken?"
"Dude, you ever consider fucking calling first before you just come over? Â Or maybe knocking on the fucking door?"
"I DID knock on the fucking door but you obviously had your dirty movie on too loud. Â AND I TEXTED before I came, like I always do!"
Jensen gave him an incredulous look, "No. You didn't," He shot out as he grabbed up his phone from the couch, "I would have felt the.....oh," Â Jensen gave him a sheepish glance, "Looks like I put it on silent not vibrate."
Jared's lips twitched into what could have been a smile, "Uh huh," Â Jared casually pushed passed Jensen's stiff form and plopped himself on the abandoned couch. Â He spread his arms across the back of it as he glanced up at Jensen through his lashes, Â "Sooooo, if I hadn't gotten here when I did, would that have been the, uh, next thing you would have pulled out?"
Jensen's eyebrows drew together in confusion, as his humiliation continued to burn through him, "Pulled what out?"
Jared bit his bottom lip, obviously trying not to laugh out loud, "Never mind. Â Man, its fine. Â Stop looking at me like you wanna crawl into a hole. Â We ALL fucking do it. Â Hell, I jerked off twice in the shower before coming here."
Ignoring the pull of desire in his belly at Jared's words, Jensen groaned out loud and threw himself down onto the other end of the couch and rubbed his hands over his face, "So fucking embarrassing," He muttered into his fingers, refusing to look over at Jared.
A small squeaking sound, slid through the air and sounds of heavy breathing filled the awkward space.
"Yeah baby, just like that. Â Fuck me with your fingers."
Jensen's head shot up as Jared let out a deep belly laugh and stared at Jensen's re-opened laptop at the kneeling guy on the screen getting his pink hole finger fucked by the blonde chick next to him as he sucked and licked the cock in front of him.
"DUUUUUDE, this is some kinky shit."
"What the fu-? Jay! Â Why would you turn that back on?!" Â Jensen threw himself over Jared's lap, ignoring the loud laughter falling out Jared's mouth and frantically pressed buttons until it stopped playing and slammed the laptop shut once again. Â He whipped his head to the side and glared at the wide grin inches from his face, "You're an asshole, you know that?"
Jared winked at Jensen as he shifted his hips underneath him, poking Jensen in the stomach with something, "You're taking this way too seriously, Man."
Jensen looked down into the small space between him and Jay before slowly leaning back into his own spot on the couch. Â He couldn't have felt what he thought he did....did he?
With a clearing of his throat, he swallowed and sat back as he ran his hands through his hair, "This is fucking embarrassing!" Â He repeated.
Shrugging, Jared leaned his head into the back of the couch and rolled his head so it was next to Jensen's, "Soooooo, does this mean....I mean...are you...gay?"
Jensen's eyes widened in alarm as his heart started pounding frantically, "NO! Â I'm not fucking gay, Jay! Â Did you not see the chick in the movie? Â I didn't realize until it was too late that the guy was going to be...involved like that."
Jared sent a sympathetic look at Jensen's panicked gaze, "You know Jen, it's okay if you are. Â I'm not judging. Â Like, at all-"
"Jesus, Jared! Â I'm telling you I'm not-"
"-cause I've swung both ways before soooo.."
"-gay.....what?"
Jensen blinked stupidly at Jared's soft smile and felt like he might pass out from sheer terror mixed with immediate curiosity.
Jared sat up and placed his elbows on his knees before lacing his fingers together, "I'm...I mean I guess...you could call me...bisexual," Â He shrugged before running his fingers through his hair and Jensen could see a slight tremble despite Jared's calm tone.
"Have you...um...had...you know.."
Another dazzling smile was sent Jensen's way, "Have I ever fucked a guy before?" Â At Jensen's nod, Jared shrugged, "Yep. Â Both catcher and pitcher."
"Jesus."
"What? Â You know if you cant talk about gay sex, you shouldn't be doing gay sex." Â He said with a mock serious look.
"Yeah, yeah. Â Well, I'm not. Â Doing it. Â I mean. Â With guys. Â And lately, not with girls either," Â Jensen ran a hand against the back of his neck, "Maybe that's the problem. Â I'm backed up to the point where my brain is floating in sperm and stupidity."
Jared laughed again before placing a hand against the back of Jensen's neck and squeezing it, "Jen, again, not judging. Â But, uh, coming that hard? Â Usually signifies that shit is turning you on. Â And then some."
Jensen gaped at Jared, "How fucking long were you standing there?"
"Long enough to wonder if you were gonna provide a cigarette after the show."
"Dude."
With another squeeze to his neck, Jared smirked, "What can I say, it was seriously hot."
Jensen's poor heart started pounding at an even faster clip, "You...you thought that was hot?"
Jared's smirk dropped and a look that Jensen had never seen before took it's place, "Come on, Man. Â Have you seen yourself in the mirror? Â Can you really blame me for thinking that way about you?"
Jensen swallowed. Â Hard. "What....what way?"
Jared licked his bottom lip and bit it, "How curious are you about this? Â I don't want to go down a road with you and you wake up the next morning and decide you cant work with me or you don't want to be friends. Â I value our friendship, Man. Â Truly. Â It would kill me not to-."
"Yeah," Jensen interrupted with a soft smile, "It would kill me too."
With a smile of his own, Jared let go of Jensen's neck and sat back, "Sooo, you wanna finish watching the movie?"
Was it possible for stomachs to dip right outta your body? Â Cause that's what was happening to Jensen's.
"I-uh, I mean, if you, uh, wanna, I mean..."
Taking pity on Jensen's stuttering, Jared reached under the side table and pulled out the bottle of Glenfiddich whiskey he knew was stored there, "Drink first?"
"Fuck yeah."
:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~~:~:~
The first two shots burned on the way down. Â By the time they were both nursing the third drink, Jensen was feeling the edges of his anxiety start to float away and Jared was sitting closer to him on the couch.
They talked a little more about Jared and his previous male conquests. Â ("They were pretty. Â And hot. Â I have a hard time saying no to pretty and hot.")
And they spoke of how he may not advertise his sexuality but he wasn't ashamed of it either. ("Pussy and dick both make me come. Â Soooo, why not?")
By the time they reached the point where Jensen felt brave enough to let Jay turn on the laptop, he was sporting some chub thinking of his best friend in these compromising positions. Â
And if Jay's gaze was any indication, it was very noticeable. Â
Fucking sweatpants. Â
Clearing his throat, Jared pressed play and placed it on the couch in between them.
"Suck that cock. Â Fuck yeah. Â So fucking hot." Â The blonde said as she continued to finger fuck the dark haired guys ass before quickly adding a second finger. Â The blonde slapped one of the guys ass cheeks with her free hand before using the same hand to separate them, "Look how pretty. Â Can't wait for you to take that monster up in here. Â Gonna make you eat my pussy while you take it."
Jensen's head was swimming as a deep pulse of lust shot into his stomach and straight to his dick. Â His mind was quickly replacing the images on screen with him being the one sitting on the couch, running his hand through Jared's hair as he sucked his cock with major enthusiasm.
Fuck, could he really be this hard, this fast?
Sending a surreptitious glance toward Jared, Jensen took another sip of his drink and adjusted himself on the couch, trying to sit in such a way that his wood wasn't so obvious.
He was terribly unsuccessful.
Especially considering he had looked into Jared's lap and saw a massive boner laying against the side of his leg, plainly visible in the track pants he was wearing.
This time, Jensen had to bite his lip to keep in the moan that threatened to fly out of his throat. Â
"You, uh, Â you okay?"
Jensen's head shot up at Jared's deep baritone and he swallowed at the look of lust making Jared's eyes darken, "I, uh, maybe this wasn't such a good idea..." Â He said as he placed his drink on the table next to him.
Jared looked down at the tent in Jensen's sweats, before raising an eyebrow, "You sure about that, Jen?"
At that moment, the dark haired guy on screen let out a loud moan and both of their heads swiveled back to the screen just in time to see him take Big-Dicks cock in his ass. Â He swiveled his hip and pushed against Big-Dick before licking up the blondes thigh in front of him, plunging his tongue in her pussy.
"Fuck...." Jared let out before he reached down and squeezed his dick through his pants, "That's fucking hot."
Shit. Shit. Shit.
Watching Jared touch himself through his pants was gonna make Jensen blow his wad straight across the room. Â The throbbing in his sweats was becoming unbearable and mixed with the whiskey in his system, he was ready to say fuck it and whip his dick out.
"Deeper.." Â The guy on screen begged in between long licks to the blondes pussy, "Deeper, Man. Â Yeah, just like that."
Big-Dick obliged and he adjusted himself to give the guy long, hard, deep strokes as his partner let out a groan and lay his head on the blondes thigh; his hard cock swinging between his legs with the pounding he was happily taking.
"You like that baby?" The blonde cooed as she ran her fingers through his hair, "Feels good right?"
"Oh my God," Jensen couldn't help but let out softly as he felt his dick dribble out pre-cum into his pants.
Jared looked up into Jensen's face and shuddered out a breath, "Dude, I'm so fucking horny right now that if I don't take out my dick, its gonna explode in my pants."
Jensen shut his eyes at the shot of want that streaked down his spine, "Shit, Jay. Â You're gonna kill me."
"Is that a yes?"
What to do? Â Lord knew he was so far gone the room was spinning. Â Though the whiskey could've had a hand in that as well.
Instead of answering, Jensen reached into his pants and pulled out his throbbing cock and immediately started stroking it from root to tip. Â He was so worked up, his hips involuntarily canted into his grip and he let out a groan and dropped his head onto the back of the sofa letting it loll to the side, facing Jared.
Jensen watched as Jared's eyes widened at the sight in front of him and he started letting out gasping breaths before reaching into his underwear, pulling out his cock (Big-fucking-cock. Â Want-it-in-his-mouth-cock) as he pulled down his pants with the other hand. Â Jay's eyes rolled into the back of his head as he leaned back against the sofa, inches away from Jensen's gasping mouth. Â
"Fuck..." Â Jensen whispered as he felt Jared's rapid breaths against his lips. Â Immediately, he licked his lower lip trying in vain to catch the taste of his best friend and swallow it down. Â He opened his eyes into slits and peered right into yellow-green orbs as he let out a low moan when his cock jerked in his hand.
He was so fucking close....
Jared let out a deep groan in tandem with Jensen, his mouth hanging slightly open as his hand reached down and played with his sack, "Jen....God...the things I wanna do to you..."
Those thick lips were so close to his own, he could practically feel them opening up and taking everything he had to give. Â He licked his lips, hoping his tongue would graze against Jared's but instead he felt an answering lick against the tip of his tongue as Jared tentatively rubbed it against his.
"Again...." Jensen groaned, "Please....again."
A sound of complete surrender left Jared's throat as he closed the small distance between their mouths and immediately wrapped his tongue around Jensen's before sucking Jensen's bottom lip into his mouth. Â
A bomb went through Jensen's torso and immediately erupted out of his dick as he came so hard his eyes crossed and he moaned long and loud into Jared's mouth causing the other man to moan in return. Come arched through the air and landed right on his t-shirt as he closed his mouth over Jared's and kissed him with deep strokes of his tongue.
"Oh God, oh FUCK!"
The loud scream from the laptop caused both men to separate and look down in time to see the dark haired guy on screen on his back getting plowed by Big-Dick as the blonde sucked down his cock.
"I'm gonna come!" He yelled into the air, "I'm gonna come."
As the blonde lifted her face out of the way, he shot up and onto his chest with loud grunts as the guy who had been fucking him pulled out and helped the blonde lap up the come on his chest. Â
A low groan came from Jared, "Ugggghhh, Jen. Â Shiiiiit."
Jensen looked to the side just in time to see Jared rip up his T-shirt  just as his red tipped dick erupted onto his now exposed stomach.
It was by far one of the hottest fucking things he had ever seen in his life.
As both men leaned back letting out low gasps, Jensen waited for the awkwardness to settle in.  But nothing happened.  He blinked up at the ceiling of the trailer and tried to trudge up something of the fear that he felt earlier but instead he  just felt....content.
"You okay, Jen?" Â
Jensen turned his head to meet Jared's slightly panicked eyes.
Jared gulped as Jensen didn't immediately answer, Â "I mean...are we okay?"
Taking in that strong jawline and those beautiful eyes, Jensen smiled, "Yeah. Â Yeah, Jay. Â We're good."
Letting out a sigh of relief, Jared closed the laptop between them and placed it on the table before closing the small distance between their bodies. Â As Jensen felt the heat radiating off of Jared's body bleed into own, he let his eyes slide down to the curve of Jared's lips and couldn't help but bring his mouth to his and press a soft kiss against them. Â He felt Jared smile before the taller man deepened the kiss and slid one of those massive hands of his across Jensen's t-shirt covered stomach. Â With a groan into Jensen's mouth. he squeezed at the side of Jensen's waist before meandering his fingers up his chest towards his neck before suddenly stopping and looking down at his hand.
"What's wrong?" Â Jensen on a breath.
Biting his lip, Jared brought up his shiny fingers, "Dude, you either have a talent for shooting long distance or you really were backed up,"
Jensen's eyes widened, "Is that my-"
"Come? Â Yep," Jared opened his mouth and inserted his fingers before sucking them deep and releasing them with a pop and a smirk, "Still warm too."
Another dip in his belly as Jensen tried to decide how he felt about watching his best friend lick his come off his fingers. Â When said friend, winked at him and bit his bottom lip, Jensen decided he was abso-fucking-lutley okay with it, "Fuck. Â You're gonna kill me."
Jared hummed deep in his throat and leaned his head in to kiss Jensen again when a loud knock sounded at the door.
"Yo! Â Open up the door! Â You two fools better not have drank all the alcohol."
Shit! Â Y/N!
With panicky eyes and fumbling hands righting clothes, Jensen cleared his throat and quickly made it to the door after looking back to make sure Jared was decent.
"Hey!" Â Y/N said with a bright smile when the door opened, "Sorry I took so long. Â Crisis with Christy happened. Â Again!" Â Y/N said referring to one of the PA's on staff as she made her way around Jensen and to his small kitchenette, "But I brought pizza!" Â She lifted the box in her hands before placing it on the table, "Hope you guys are hungry."
Jared and Jensen shared a heavy look before Jared answered, "Yeah, I'd say we worked up a pretty decent appetite today."
Y/N looked around the trailer and took a deep breath, swinging around making the short skirt she had on flounce in the air, "It smells like bad decisions in here, Ackles. Â You really need to clean up after you bang random chick number sixty-nine."
Jared let out a high pitched laugh as Jensen pursed his lips at his friend, "I did not bang any..chick in here. Thank you very much."
Y/N shrugged off her jacket and placed it on the back of a chair before plopping down next to Jared on the couch, "Then you need to figure out which sock is lying around and still hiding the evidence of your last....activities."
"Y/N!"
"Just sayin'."
