Of course Lottie was desperate. Imagine hearing the voice of a god, sensing it's presence all around you, within you, only for it to then... Withdraw. Nothing. You're left an empty vessel, in silence. Imagine the void it would create in someone. Of course she latched onto whatever chance she saw, to feel divinity's pulse again, or at least it's echoes, no matter what it cost, nor to whom. Keep in mind, she's still the Holy Woman. We see her lead the ritual in Ep. 1. It has to make her loss even more bitter. Imagine you're a prophet, Moses, Elijah, whoever, filled to the teeth with a god's grace, and it gets taken away... But you still wear the priest's robes. Your community still trusts you, when it comes to spiritual matters. Who else could they trust?.. Imagine how performative leading the Solstice ritual must've felt for Lottie, speaking of the Wilderness, when she no longer heard it. The end of Ep. 6 probably brought her pure ecstasy.
