So we all know GRRM, like all authors, took a lot of inspo from real life fairy tales, religion, and mythology. There are a ton of parallels but I picked out a few to put in this poll
Propaganda: Before anyone says anything, I know a lot of these are dark spins on the original. I’m not trying to say Littlefinger is a handsome prince or whatever. Also note that some of this is based on either things that haven’t happened yet but are highly likely to happen in Winds/Dream up to and including being confirmed by GRRM.
Arya and Jaqen as Hades and Persephone-the young maiden of spring is found by the lord of the underworld, who gives her an object (in this case a coin) to trick her into being trapped in the world of the dead. When she leaves home, winter comes, but when she returns, so does spring.
Sansa as Rapunzel-a princess locked in a tower by an evil sorceress (or just queen) who is spirited away by a man who wants to marry her. Strong focus on her hair as a symbol of her identity.
The Brotherhood Without Banners as Robin Hood and his Merry Men-a band of outlaws who defend the common people against corrupt authority figures. This one is really self explanatory.
Cersei as the evil queen and Margaery/Sansa/eventually Dany as Snow White-a vain, cruel women terrified of her beauty fading and being replaced by a younger woman who outshines her, so she tries to destroy her perceived rival, ultimately leading to her own downfall. The girls in Snow Whites slot are the popular choices for the identity of the YMBQ and the one Cersei is currently convinced it is.
Jaime and Brienne as Beauty and the Beast-a double subversion. Jaime is handsome and Brienne is ugly, but when they meet she’s brave and kind while he’s selfish and cruel, so it’s the beast who helps the beauty be better.
Lyanna, Rhaegar, and Robert as Helen of Troy, Paris, and Menelaus-a beautiful woman fiercely desired by two powerful men, she either runs off with or is kidnapped by a prince, leading to her (soon to be) husband retaliating by starting a tragic war.
Stannis and Shireen as Agammemon and Iphegenia-a king and commander sacrifices his daughter to the gods to win a war. Bonus if this ends up causing Stannis’ downfall.
Lady Stoneheart as Demeter-a mother wanders the land bringing destruction and misery as she searches for her daughter(s.) When her daughters return to her, spring comes.
Cersei and Jaimes children as the emperor wearing no clothes-the emperor walks around naked insisting that he’s a wearing magic invisible outfit, but everyone is afraid to tell him the truth until finally a child points out that he’s wearing nothing at all. See: everyone pretending not to notice that Cerseis children are the result of incest with her brother, and Ned finally realizing the truth when his 11 year old daughter points out that Joffrey is nothing like Robert.
Bran as the Fisher King-the Fisher King is a character from Arthurian myth. He is the guardian of the magical holy grail, protecting it so it (and power) does not fall into the hands of the unworthy. Notably, he also has a deliberating injury to his legs or groin (depending on the version.) Of course the endgame Bran of the show is a blatant rip-off of Leto II from Children of Dune, but I think the Fisher King sounds more like GRRM would do.
Dany as Moses-a leader who has prophetic visions, who after performing a miracle, frees her people from slavery and leads them on a harsh journey to a new land. Notably regarded as a critically important figure by a monotheistic religion.

___________________________________________
Winterfell was quiet, it was early in the morning and the sky was just gaining light again. A slow breeze drifted through the castle and sansa stark, now queen in the North, sat at the end of her and jaerys targaryens bed, staring out of the window into the trees.
It was mornings like these, while her lover was still held in the comfortable arms of sleep, that she began to think. Think of her life before. About how ten years ago she so desperately wanted to marry joffrey baratheon and become his queen and now she found herself with the deepest hatred for the dead king and sharing a bed with a lady targaryen.
She wondered what her mother and father would say. Would they say anything? Would they disown her? Execute her?
She thought about all the people she lost. Her brothers, her parents, Margaery, and all the others. She thought about the abuse she suffered in the red keep. About the stench of Kings landing and the grimace that often rested on many of the faces of Lords and ladies as they watched her suffer.
She thought about pushing joffrey all those years ago. What would have happened? Did she even want to know?
She thought about the scars that adorned her body, a constant reminder of her troubles and her failures. Of her enemies and how she let them win over her with their threats and violence. It ashamed her. And secretly, somewhere deep inside of her, she wondered that if she had somehow pushed joffrey and gone toppling over the edge with him, would her mother be living, robb, rickon, everyone else? Would King's landing still stand tall? Or would daenerys stormborns dragon still reduced it to ashes in a mere minute or two.
She then turned around, to gaze at the woman she now loved with her deep brown eyes. Only to be met with jaerys' purple rings staring right back into hers.
"What troubles you my love?" She soothed, sitting up and adjusting her nightdress ever so slightly, moving to sit to her left.
She slowly placed her hand on sansas shoulder and gently brushed her thumb over the smooth skin there. Sansa looked down for a moment.
"I had every chance to end his reign. But I didn't. I let a weak boy king beat me, humiliate me, scar me. A constant reminder that I'm just a weak little girl who spent her whole life waiting to be saved."
Jaerys waited a moment, studying her lovers beautiful face. The way her lashes blinked elegantly. The way her pale skin seemed to glow and how her auburn hair fell into her face slightly.
"I know how you feel my love, but I assure you that these things you say are just that, words. They are not the truth. They are the deepest parts of your minds, slowly trying to break their way out and hurt you. But I assure you, a weak little girl is the opposite of what I, and everyone else for that matter, see in you, my queen."
Sansa studied jaerys' face slowly. Her blonde hair was braided in many places, small beads in some places, her purple eyes shimmered in the light from the window and her skin was paper white nearly.
"You know how I feel?" She whispered.
Jaerys nodded slowly.
"Jaime lannister used to hold me when I was a baby, and him and cersei would read me bedtime stories. Tywin lannister would accompany on my adventures around the red keep. Jaime and rheagar would spar whilst viserys and I watched. I remember, when the war raged on, I was but a small child. Jaime came to my chambers one night and said something to me. He told me never to forget who my true friends are. The next morning I watched him murder my father and was dragged away with my mother and viserys. I remember reaching essos and asking for rheagar every day until I finally understood he wasn't coming back.
I remember when viserys refused to marry me of to khal drogo and instead daenerys because he wanted to marry me once he retook the seven Kingdoms. And I remeber begging him not to. But I couldn't do anything.
And when daenerys was busy with her new friends in the dorthraki camps, and viserys was constantly bugging ser jorah, the dothraki men were free to have their way with me. Whatever they liked they got and I couldn't stop them.
And then daenerys killed viserys and again I watched someone I loved die. And although I understand why she did it, I don't think I can ever forgive her.
And then, I was sold off. Sold all the way back to King's landing until I ended up face to face once more with tywin lannister who agreed to keep my identity under the radar but it would only work if I married him."
Sansa's hand danced gently over jaerys' arms as she spoke.
"And when cersei realised who I was she lost it. She had me beaten and tortured. And then, when I escaped, I found daenerys again. And I asked her why had she not come for me. I asked her if I meant less to her than the villagers she was so keep to risk all for all those years ago. And she looked me in the eye and stayed quiet. And that was the day I realised that it didn't matter how many scars I gained, or how many people had violated and hurt me, for I did it all by myself for so long. And they were proof that I survived. That I prevailed over my enemies and that I was stronger than them in the end."
Jaerys hand gently caressed sansa's cheek.
"You are stronger than them. You always were and you always will be. I promise you that my queen." Jaerys slowly let the straps of her nightdress slide from her shoulders until the fabric landed on the floor around her feet.
The lack of clothing revealed several scars on her stomach, a long line across her chest and several marks on her breasts and shoulders. Her legs were painted with small marks but samsa did not shy away from the revelation of these scars.
She reached out an arms and ran her hand along them gently. Keeping eye contact with the targaryen girl as she did. And then sansa too, slowly but surely, let the nightgown slip, revealing her own set of scars. And jaerys just knelt to the floor infront of her, as if to pray, and kissed the scars on her stomach, on her thighs and her arms and her chest.
She did so until sansa took her face in her hands and moved her head to face her own, urging the woman to rise and grasp sansa's lips in her own gently. They glided smoothly against eachother and jaerys hands found themselves lingering on the red headed woman's waist as sansa pulled her closer by the neck before pulling away for breath.
"I love you, jaerys targaryen." She whispered.
"And I love you too, queen sansa stark."
They smiled at eachother.
"And now my queen, you have a kingdom to run."

Summary: Being forced to take the homeland under the ruling, young Lady Isolde Meverell learned how to lead, how to make decisions with cold heart and mind, how to speak for her own people and how to protect her land. She knew how to hide her emotions from everyone due to protect herself from others. "The Ice Lady" she was famously called. Without having time to take care of her own feelings, young Lady began her own prudent game of thrones, where the future of herself, her homeland and her relationships are at stake.
Chapter 3. Nunquam obliviscar*
*Never forget
______________________________________________________________
In couple of days before King Joffrey’s wedding the great entertaining tournament was organized. When all soldiers who were participating in the tournament were getting ready for it by cleaning their armors, swords and horses in the streets of King’s Landing, I passed them by almost unnoticed, two of my guards were following me when I was reaching the gardens where the private meeting with Lady Olenna Tyrell was taken place.
“Ah, the famous Ice Lady”, Lady Olenna stood up from the bench to greet me, when I dropped into a curtsy, “Forgive me for nicknaming you, but the legends of your cold heart arrived faster than you”, she saw no reaction on her words from me and she continued, when we sat back on the bench, “Please, take my condolences for your great loss. Your parents were one of the wisest people that have ruled Einarland.”
“Thank you for your kind words, Lady Olenna”, I looked around the gardens, nodding to my guards to check around: birds could be everywhere and probably could hear us.
“There is no need for that, Lady Isolde, no one can hear us here”, Lady Olenna took my hands in hers but I simply replied:
“All precautions must be made, especially when one is talking with the lord or lady from North.”
The woman smiled softly at me. Of course, she knew my reasonable precautions as we were talking about the future assassination which will lead us to, probably, very long and painful deaths.
“I’m glad we understand each other”, she continued softly, “My granddaughter should not make sacrifice by marrying that monster and your late parents must be revenged. I am still impressed by your determination, Lady Isolde.”
I looked directly into the woman’s eyes. Of course, I knew that she didn’t care neither about my late parents nor about me: Lady Margaery, her happiness and her aim to be the Queen were the main driving reasons for Lady Olenna to make allies with The Ice Lady. It did not bother me as long as I knew that I would make Lannisters pay for their actions.
“Lady Olenna, both you and I care dearly about our families, about our Houses, and when someone or something that is so dear to us is in danger – we are taking all the opportunities that will protect and save them from tyranny. Without paying attention to what should happen to us. Without caring as long as our loved ones are safe”, I gave her a very cold look. The woman just nodded and then she took off a small bag which was hanging over her shoulder and gave it to me.
“You will find a small necklace with a poisonous stone in there”, she said calmly, as I put the bag over my shoulders, “It should be slipped into a cup of wine during the most memorable day for King Joffrey and Lady Margaery…”, the woman silenced for a moment and glanced at the bottle, “It will not work immediately, but the result will be fatal.”, the woman looked into my eyes again and stood up from her seat “Let Lannisters have their own Red Wedding. We will see each other soon, hopefully, Lady Isolde”
With these words Lady Olenna left the gardens, when I continued to sit on the bench silently, guarded by my soldiers, looking at the small bag in my hands. I sighed quietly, understanding that from that point there was no way back. ______________________________________________________________
The great feast and entertaining tournament were taking place in Shieldville due to the end of the conflict between House Meverell and House Tully. All great lords from North, Riverlands and even the King himself attended the celebration. Everyone was cheering, laughing, eating and drinking, the musicians were playing loudly and unstoppably.
I sat quietly, beside my parents, still angry with the fact that they were planning to marry me with Edmure Tully, who was sitting across from me at the table. Not only age difference was separating us, as he was fourteen years older than me, but the hate that I had for Tullys was the main reason why I was angry with parents and their decision. They knew how I detested Tullys, how I did not like Edmure, but it did not stop them for making this proposal. Of course, they heard my angry rejections but they hoped that I would eventually change my mind. It never happened even until the present day, many moons after the end of conflict.
And here I was, sitting at the feast table, glancing coldly at Edmure and my parents, when the music was bursting out on the background.
“Lady Isolde”, suddenly I heard King Robert’s voice and it woke me up from my thoughts, “Your father told me that you’ve been learning how to fight and to use sword, bow and arrows and you are quite good at it”, he finished, smiling at me.
I looked at the King, then at my father, and finally at Edmure, who looked back at me with curiosity. I just looked back at the king and nodded:
“Yes, your Grace”
“And your father also said that you’re the best with fighting with bow and arrows. Can you show all of us your skills, then?”, Robert Baratheon looked at me again, when I suddenly froze, taking aback by his words. My father never told me that I was the best in this. He only told me to practice more and that I was good. But never best.
I silently stood up from my seat, and took my bow and arrows from one of our servants, when others were preparing the target in the furthest place I've ever reached before during my training sessions.
Everyone was quiet, even the musicians stopped playing. I gave the final look at Edmure, who stood up from his seat, looking directly at me. I just sighed loudly, gave final look around the curious public, turned my sharp gaze to the target, trying to concentrate on its center, which was so far away from me. Calmly squinted, pulled the bowstring with an arrow, holding my breath for a second, and released the arrow.
After I realized that it reached the target, I immediately repeated the same action, trying this time to break the arrow in the center in two halves. I’ve tried to do this before but only one attempt was successful. This time I knew I won’t miss.
There was silence when the second arrow cut through the first and hit the center again. But then everyone cheered so loudly that I thought I would become deaf. When I reached my chair, both my father and uncle Ned nodded at me with a smile on their faces, when the King said to my father:
“Lord Meverell, your daughter can be the great knight and the protector of your land, you can be sure about it. I think that with such skills she can break hearts of other lords in two halves as well”, the king winked at both me and Edmure, when Tully said to me, when I finally sat back on my seat:
“It was a really great shot, Lady Isolde”
Of course, when someone was admitting my skills, I felt flattered, but when Tully told me that I felt irritated at the same time. But manners were above all of my inside feelings and I coldly replied:
“Thank you, Lord Edmure”
______________________________________________________________
The entertaining tournament in King’s Landing was on its zenith: the final combats were over, almost everyone was drinking and cheering for King Joffrey and Lady Margaery. I was sitting near my cousin Sansa and Tyrion Lannister, when Jaime was sitting right across from me, glancing and smiling at me.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t come earlier, Sansa”, I said to my cousin, believing that no one was going to hear us, “I hope you were alright here and they were treating you right”, I whispered, glancing back at Jaime, but before Sansa could say something back to me, I heard Joffrey’s voice:
“Lady Isolde, my father once told me, when I was practicing with my sword, that you’re, probably, one of the best fighting with sword and with bow and arrows, was he right?”
“Oh, is that right, The Ice Lady?”, Jaime asked cunningly, as if he wanted to read the lie is this fact, but I coldly replied, looking back at Joffrey:
“Yes, your father was right, Your Grace. He saw my skills during one of those tournaments, many moons ago”
“Can you prove his words now, then?”, he asked, but it sounded more like a command.
“Of course, your Grace”
I saw how Jaime’s eyes followed me when I was reaching the arena, where servants were preparing the target and a table with arrows and bow. My eyes froze for a second as I saw a crossbow, also laying on the table. The servants placed three targets in the arena: they were at different distances from each other and from me, one of them was further away, another one was closer to me. Most likely, the king wanted to see my skills not only with a bow, but also with a crossbow. And I learned how to use a crossbow much earlier, when my father took me hunting with him in the forests of Einarland.
The next thought that caught my mind was to quickly put and arrow inside it and shoot directly into Joffrey’s heart. Unfortunately, I couldn’t do this even and I didn’t have the chance to leave the crime scene unnoticeable for guards and the public.
I sighed quietly, when preparing to release the bowstring with an arrow on it. A bird screamed on the background, and probably all eyes of every person who was enjoying the tournament were on me, but I didn’t pay attention to any of it as my sharp gaze was aimed on the target.
When the arrow was finally released and hit the target, I took a crossbow in my hands, finishing the remain targets, hitting the center of each of them. Roars of cheers and hand claps came from the audience, these cheers reminded me so much of all those happy times when I attended same tournaments in Einarland and the North. Now they were gone, but I promised myself that soon I would hear the cheers again, this time at home and it’d be the sound of my victory.
“My father was right, Lady Isolde”, Joffrey clapped his hands again, when I was walking back to my seat, “You’re indeed very good at it. Maybe we’ll ask you to train our soldiers here in King’s Landing, I’m not quite sure that my uncle is capable for it”, the king looked at Jaime when he said those words, who hid his golden fake arm under the table and replied, looking at me:
“Well, if I’m not lucky in this I will be successful in terms of love, then”
“I think we can all agree about it, isn’t it so, Lady Isolde?”, Cersei asked, smiling cunningly at me.
At that point the interaction between me, Jaime and, probably Cersei herself in discussing the matters of my possible betrothed to Kingslayer was inevitable and would probably take place either the same evening after the tournament or the next morning. I wondered if Lannisters knew to whom I was betrothed before, but I guessed they didn’t really care about lords and ladies outside King’s Landing, especially if lands were close to the North.
“I think Ser Jaime knows better than we all are”, I dryly replied to her, but put a fake smile on my face.
“I hope we will have a small talk this evening”, Cersei added, continuing to look at me with her cunning eyes, “Moons have passed and we never had a chance to talk properly, especially with Meverells”
My heart sank. She knew how to put pressure on a sore spot.
“Of course”, I replied, looking at the woman with straight cold look.
Sansa, who looked at our interaction with undisguised interest whispered to me quietly: “What does she mean, cousin?”
I looked sadly at my cousin and replied: “You will, soon enough”
She reminded me so much of my mother. The same cold beautiful eyes, the same grace and the same beauty. When Arya, who I haven’t seen in moons but believed with all my heart that she was alive and safe, since she was a little girl, reminded me so much of myself. The same arrogance, the same sharpness, the same self-confidence, the same interest in fighting trains. Something inside was always telling me that at some point in our lives we’d meet at the battlefield as great allies.
“Lady Isolde Meverell”, Lord Baelish, whom I noticed when I was standing in the arena, getting ready for my shot, now bent down and said quietly to me to make sure that no one could hear us besides Sansa, “It seems to me that we haven't had the opportunity to meet up to this point”, he paused and looked around again.
I met Lord Baelish only with cursory glance when he visited Shieldville moons ago, and we only greeted each other with nods of heads and greets like Lady Isolde and Lord Baelish. He was one of few people who I used to know who never called me Ice Lady before. Not openly to me, at least.
“It’s true, Lord Baelish, but I do remember your visits to Shieldville, when my parents were still alive”, I said dryly, glancing at Jaime again, but he didn’t notice it.
I was always doubting Littlefinger’s character, I knew that he would do whatever would be good for him and his abilities, he could betray everyone and build impressive cobwebs of intrigues and lies.
But I needed his help. That’s why Amela flew to him with my message with an offer which would safe both my cousin and me when we would need to leave King’s Landing.
“I hope both of us can find time to have a small meeting in the gardens later today”, he continued, “To discuss some matters”
Musicians on the background played as loud as they could, the cheers and songs could be heard from everyone, so no one could hear our little chat.
“Of course, Lord Baelish”, I replied, and looked at the crowd, rising from my place, facing Littlefinger, “But my guards will follow me, in the matter of precautions, you understand it”
The same second my guards moved closer to me and Littlefinger as we were heading to the gardens, when no one from the public understood that we suddenly disappeared from the feast.
______________________________________________________________
The gardens were very quiet, and I was very pleased to leave the tournament as it was too loud and busy. The sun began to slowly sink below the horizon – the long day was almost over.
“I assume that the final matters have already been done?”, I asked Littlefinger as we were walking slowly through the huge bushes, flowers and fountains.
“Of course, my Lady”, the man replied, “The ship arrived to King’s Landing today. After the wedding it will be waiting in the bay bound for the Vale of Arryn.”, the man stopped and looked at me, “Sansa will be safer there than in Einarland”
I needed to agree with him: Lannisters would definitely search for her in my land as she was my cousin and my mother was Stark.
"I have the plan how to make Lady Sansa arrive to her aunt unnoticed, she will be safe, I guarantee you that, Lady Isolde.", he suddenly stopped and looked at me with cunning look, "But both you and I know how people like to talk and make false accusations, the main motive will be that not only Lady Sansa but also you, Lady Isolde, had all reasons to kill king Joffrey..."
"He is not my king, Lord Baelish", I interrupted Littlefinger, as I got irritated by his words about "your king", "My House recognizes only King in the North. It was moons before my ruling of Einarland and it will be moons after me", I finished coldly. "Careful, my Lady, wrong people in King's Landing can hear you" "So let them hear me. Let them know it. You are talking to half-Stark, Lord Baelish, and I'm taking all responsibilities about any kind of accusations and consequences which will be revealed after the royal wedding", I said in anger, sharply and confidently.
"Of course, Lady Isolde", Littlefinger replied and looked at the sun, which almost disappeared behind the sea.
“I must inform Sansa about the ship, I can’t say nothing more, I don’t want her to be concerned about all the details of the plan, she has suffered enough”, I said quietly, my mind was far away at that moment, in Einarland, in the past, when parents were alive.
Littlefinger simply nodded, and left the gardens, when I saw the sun disappeared completely behind the sea, which seemed endless to me as I was far away from home and was counting days before my departure.

How HBO's Adaptation of Shae ruined the character(Game of Thrones)
Shae is a fictional character that appears in Game of Thrones from Season 1.
In Both the Books and the HBO Adaptation, Tyrion Lannister meets Shae when he is assigned to battle in the vanguard in the Lannister Army during the March of Tywin Lannister to the North.
In both versions Bronn arranges for her arrival into the Lannister encampment to meet Tyrion at his behest.
After a series of events, Tyrion eventually gets attached to and falls in love with Shae. He finds a way to secretly bring her to King's Landing, and attempts to hide her away from the public.
Despite his best efforts, his actions ultimately fail. But from here, things go down differently, and I would have to explain the differences that occur in the character of Shae, both from the A Song of Ice and Fire Book Series and the HBO Adaptation
Shae(A Song of Ice and Fire)
In this version, everything happens the same way as I have explained earlier, She meets Tyrion Lannister on the Green Fork after Bronn sought her out for him.
Eventually he falls in love with her, but unlike in the HBO Adaptation, he constantly doubts her intentions. This is obviously happening because Shae happens to tell him exactly what he wants to hear, which reminds him of his past and the painful event that happened with Tysha, his first love.
After Tyrion smuggles her to King's Landing against his father's orders, he keeps her in a manse and hires servants and guards to protect her.
He couldn't do this properly well, at least not from the master of whispers. Varys eventually finds out, and Tyrion begs him not to reveal his secret. Tyrion sees her secretly by pretending to patronize a whore in a brothel named Alayaya(who loves reading). He would then use a secret tunnel to meet Shae and go back to the Red Keep afterwards.
During the Riots of King's Landing, Tyrion sends Shagga to protect her.
On hearing of the upcoming arrival of Stannis Baratheon on the Blackwater Bay, accompanied with the intensifying riots in King's Landing as a result of the corruption of the King's Court, Tyrion begins to fear for her safety.
With the help of Varys, Tyrion manages to arrange for her to be the handmaid of Lollys Stokeworth.
Before the Battle of Blackwater, Queen Cersei uses the Kettleblacks to abduct Alayaya, so she can pressurize Tyrion(Cersei is unaware that Tyrion is seeing the hidden Shae). Out of anger, Tyrion promises that he would do to Tommen Baratheon whatever harm that is done to Alayaya, he apologizes to her and promises to free her.
Eventually, Shae is brought into the service of Sansa Stark (so she could be closer and under careful watch by Tyrion himself).
After some time, Tyrion is completely uncomfortable with the presence of Shae, as he is torn in between sending her away from King's Landing or marrying her off to tame the suspicions of Queen Cersei.
After meeting Shae one last time, and having a sleepless night, He decides to marry her off to Ser Tallad the Tall, who had been admiring her.
Tyrion eventually finds himself in Prison when King Joffrey chokes to death during the royal wedding (Joffrey was to be married to Margaery Tyrell, after he had refused Sansa).
During his trial, Shae betrays him by lying about his supposed secret plot with Sansa to eliminate Joffrey. She goes into details surrounding the nature of their relationship, embarrassing him further.
After the death of Prince Oberyn of Dorne(Tyrion's champion after he demanded a trial by combat) by Ser Gregor Clegane (The Mountain), Tyrion is confined to one of the Black cells to await execution.
Ser Jaime Lannister and Lord Varys eventually help him escape, but he finds a secret doorway to the Tower of the King's Hand. There, he finds Shae naked on his bed, wearing the golden chain of office he used to wear.
Shocked to see Tyrion there, she claims that Queen Cersei forced her to do everything she did during the trial, and that she was frightened of Tywin.
Not buying into it, Tyrion uses the golden chain, and strangles her to death. He then proceeds to kill Tywin with Joffrey's crossbow.
Afterwards, it is revealed that Cersei had bribed Shae with a manse and a Knight to wed, If she testified against Tyrion.
PERSONALITY: For this version of Shae, it is obviously revealed that she is nothing but a manipulative and a materialistic person. She probably never loved Tyrion and just loved to tell him what he wanted to hear. Each time she did that she was a step closer to the comfortable life she had dreamed of.
So, as per her personality, we can say that her loyalty lies on the highest bidder, and not on trust, friendship or love.
Shae (Game of Thrones)
This version is quite similar to the other one, in terms of storyline, but only quite a few differences;
When Tyrion first meets Shae, they have a conversation about Tysha, which didn't happen until later(in the books)
Tyrion brings her to King's Landing and hides her in the Tower of The Hand, until he finally found a way to bring her out without arousing suspicion. With Varys' help, Shae becomes a handmaiden to Sansa Stark(She didn't serve Lollys Stokeworth).
This time around, before the arrival of Stannis Baratheon on Blackwater, Ros(A prostitute at Winterfell who traveled to King's Landing. She's a completely created character by the show, and not in the books) is captured by the Kettleblacks and tortured by Queen Cersei to spite Tyrion(Cersei is unaware that the unnoticed Shae is the real person).
After the Battle of Blackwater, a severely injured Tyrion is visited by Shae. She comforts him and begs him to join her on a boat to Volantis, but Tyrion refuses, saying Politics in King's Landing is what he was born to do. Regardless, She accepts him.
Their relationship is placed into awryness when Sansa Stark is commanded to be wed to Tyrion. After the wedding, the awkward but stable relationship between Sansa and Tyrion begins to grow, causing Shae to continuously grow jealous, despite Tyrion's reassurance that he isn't interested in Sansa.
Eventually, Lord Varys offers Shae an opportunity and a bribe(a bag of diamonds) to leave King's Landing and Tyrion alone for her safety (according to him, her presence is making Tyrion unstable and would bring about his downfall). Shae rejects his offer angrily.
Later on, Lord Varys himself approaches Tyrion and warns him about Shae, and the possibility of his father's threats (Of hanging any whore he catches in Tyrion's bed). Varys has already been late, as a servant had seen Shae visiting Tyrion and had reported.
Seeing no other possible option to send her away(as she rarely listens to him about how dangerous King's Landing is), he deliberately hurts her by saying mean things to her, and he prepares a boat to ship her to Volantis. He instructs Bronn to see her to the ship.
After not seeing Shae for the duration of the Royal Wedding and thinking she has finally left King's Landing, he feels a little bit of relief.
However, as like in the books, Joffrey dies of poisoning, and Tyrion is locked up in a cell, to await trial and punishment for regicide.
During the trial, Shae appears, and lies about a lot of things; Like Tyrion planning Joffrey's death with his wife. She also narrates the story of their meeting, but twists it instead to a story of a Stockholm syndrome relationship.
She is shocked when Tyrion demands a trial by combat. As in the books, Oberyn is killed by Gregor Clegane, and Tyrion is assisted by Jaime Lannister and Lord Varys to escape Prison.
Tyrion eventually stumbles upon the Tower of the Hand on his way out of King's Landing. He sees Shae in the room and she immediately attacks him after realizing who he is.
Upon realizing she wanted to kill him, Tyrion strangles her to death with the gold chains he gave to her. He apologizes to her corpse, picks up Joffrey's crossbow and murders Tywin Lannister, after he repeatedly kept calling Shae a whore.
PERSONALITY: For this version of Shae, it is obviously certain that she is kind hearted, strong, and loving. She loves Tyrion, and not for the reason he thinks that she does.
She is driven by their relationship, and is courageous about it, even to the point of naivety.
Okay? So.... What's the Big deal with Shae?
Well, HBO's Game of Thrones ruined her character arc by turning her into a completely different person, and then using the conclusion of the original character to offer closure to a new version of the character they unintentionally created. It didn't work out so well(fans complained of this).
The Shae from A Song of Ice and Fire had a satisfying but tragic end. I say this because from the very first time she was introduced to Tyrion, we could already see, after a bit of time, that she was materialistic and was very manipulative. She seemed to know more than she was supposed to, and she had gotten used to the luxury Tyrion exposed her to, dangerously refusing to let go of said lifestyle, even when her life was at risk.
This version of Shae would have no issue testifying against Tyrion during the trial. Not because of personal issues, no. She's like Bronn, in a sense. The highest bidder is the best Companion. The moment Tyrion stopped giving her what she wanted, she could care less about him.
If HBO adapted this version into the big screen, the bag of diamonds Varys attempted to give to that Shae wouldn't be refused by this one. Not for anything in the world(Infact, she might even hang around for more).
The relationship between Tyrion and the Book Series' Shae is somewhat schematic. Tyrion knows this; It's exactly why he kept doubting her intentions, and he was right.
The Other Shae though? That's a different matter entirely. She genuinely worried about Sansa, she loved Tyrion, she rejected luxury to stay with him, she kept ignoring Tyrion's warnings about King's Landing because she thought they could overcome together.
From what I could understand of this version, she was far from opportunistic, and she genuinely loved Tyrion. I suspected this when I was first introduced to her in the first Season after having read the book.
This version of Shae would not do what she was written to do.(She definitely wouldn't have lied against Tyrion because she loved him).
Yes, we understand that she was hurt and angry, but this was of course way too obvious for her not to understand( I feel Tyrion leaving out the details as to what happened and why she had to leave just sucked because it was obviously a cheap way to make her arc go towards the version of her in the books).
The transition from a loving and understanding character to a lying and mischievous one doesn't do it for me.
Sure, there are lots of defences for why she did what she did; To Spite Tyrion, Or she was under the command of Queen Cersei and the likes.
I don't know, they may be right, but I just feel Shae became a wasted potential that could have been much more. They just had to write her off unrealistically because that was what happened in the books.
The Book Shae wasn't as complicated and as interesting as the TV adaptation. They just had to ruin her character by being faithful to the source material. She deserved better.

taking it out completely would change the entire course of the whole series, but i am taking out cersei’s continual interest in incest. after being away from jaime when he’s captured by the stark army, cersei has time to think about her actions and what they have or could cost her and her family, and realizes that the only reason she was interested in jaime in that way is because he was the only person she trusted. she has since learned to separate trust and romance/lust. she still tests her new perspective with her cousin, lancel, but is disgusted with herself afterward not only because of the incest, but her true sexuality.
cersei has always been told that what is expected of her is to marry a highborn lord, prince, or king and have his children, and therefore she put all of her efforts into achieving that. however, from as early as her preteen years, cersei has had a vested interest in other women in a romantic way. she was in love with her childhood best friend for a very long time until she was sent off to marry robert baratheon, and her friend was also sent away from lannisport to marry a lord. cersei has since bed whores from time to time, without anyone knowing except her siblings. she is not romantically or sexually attracted to men at all, she only forces herself to act like it in order to keep up appearances.
instead of being promised to loras, cersei is promised to margaery and loras’s cousin tobias tyrell. when the tyrells come to king’s landing, cersei immediately tries to bed tobias to secure her spot at his side, but he – like her – is gay and does not adhere to her advances. tobias instead catches the attention of her brother niklaus, while tobias’s sister desdemona catches cersei’s attention. cersei and desdemona become close in a matter of a few weeks, and are consistently sleeping together in secret. tobias, tyrion, margaery and niklaus are the only ones that know about cersei and desdemona.
desdemona is betrothed to niklaus while tobias is betrothed to cersei. niklaus also attempts to bed his betrothed when the tyrells arrive in king’s landing, and he succeeds only once until tobias catches his attention. a few weeks later, desdemona is pregnant and yet still unmarried, as klaus refuses to marry her. cersei devises multiple plans for the baby, all of which include her taking it for her own and saying it belongs to tobias. when desdemona starts showing, cersei keeps her locked away in the red keep as well as herself for the duration of the pregnancy. she pays or threatens the castle guard and staff to keep it quiet, and by the time the child is born, ravens are sent out to congratulate cersei and tobias on a secret wedding that never happened, and a new baby.
cersei and desdemona name the baby girl liliyana, and while she is technically niklaus’s child and cersei allows him to know her, she fully views herself and desdemona as lily’s parents. when niklaus flees king’s landing with tobias and hope to join tyrion in essos, he does not dare attempt to take lily with him. cersei would kill him.
in relation to her imprisonment and public shaming by the church, it is still canon that lancel is the one that outs their night together, but he also outs her relationship with desdemona. cersei offers herself to the church in exchange for keeping desdemona’s life and title safe. desdemona’s reputation is not harmed and she is able to stay in the red keep, but cersei is still imprisoned in the church for a time and only returns to the red keep by her walk of shame through king’s landing.
when cersei takes the iron throne after tommen’s death, she names desdemona her hand of the queen and liliyana as her heir. by this point, desdemona has had another child (through jaime) that cersei claims as theirs. she is named joanna lannister ii.
as far as season 8 goes, jaime still comes back to help cersei escape with her life (because he believes daenerys will kill her), but only as her brother; this is the last time she sees jaime, niklaus, and tyrion for several years. she and desdemona are banished from westeros with lily and joanna, and they go to essos to live out their lives together. after around 7-8 years, daenerys grants cersei and desdemona pardon and they return to westeros to live in the red keep as family of daenerys's court.

The celebration of King Tommen's wedding to Margaery Tyrell was in full swing, the air thick with the scent of roasted meats and the sound of laughter. Yet, Jaime's mind was far from the festivities. He glanced across the room to where his sister, Cersei, was engaged in animated conversation with several Lannister bannermen except when her eyes, cold and calculating, flickered momentarily towards Margaery, and Jaime felt a chill run down his spine. Nothing good came from his sister when she had something in her mind. He had already heard her ramble about the younger woman, and how she perhaps enthralls the young king despite being just a boy.
He barely knows what a woman is, less so he married one and at least Margaery cared for him enough and perhaps, if the marriage bloomed, when the boy was no longer one, something would happen. But since Joffrey's death, Cersei had grown paranoid, even of her own shadow. "Queen Margaery," he greeted, his voice low and respectful. "Might I have a word?" The knight speaks to his new niece in law (daughter in law but that is a secret and vile rumor if someone asked him). Jaime took a deep breath, choosing his words carefully.
"I have known my sister all my life, and I know how she thinks. Cersei… she sees you as a threat. Your influence over Tommen, your popularity with the people, it all unsettles her." His eyes flicker to the table of her ladies, all flowers from lesser bushes but nonetheless, part of the threat his sister felt. "Your ladies… they should be as astute as you are. Loose lips can be as deadly as poison."

‘What If’ jaime actually took the throne instead of waiting for robert to arrive?
You mean Martin's OG script for the trilogy?
Alright...so...
Jamie would not have blood ties to the throne like Robert, but he claims it by conquest. Jamie admits to everyone as they come in the throne room about the pyromancer and Aerys attempt at blowing all of Kings Landing up, orders them to lookfor the ready to be lit wildfyre kegs down below the keep and onwards through Kings Landing. Jamie would be crowned King, I could see Jamie nominating Tywin as hand, Robert would be offered a position on the Kingsguard or the council as Master of Laws? Ideally I could see War if that tittle could be created like it was on the show. He'd have Euron Greyjoy as Master of ships (keep Greyjoys on the crowns side is best if not for a rebellion) idk Pycelle for Grand Maester? Tyrion would be offered Master of Coin. Varys is kept as Master of Whispers. I could see Jamie having Tyrion betrothed to Margaery Tyrell to ensure alliances.
Now for Queens....this could be interesting. If he tracks down Dany and Viserys, kills Viserys and brings back Dany he can marry her as itwould help secure his throne even more. But in the event that doesn't happen, Jamie could marry Arianne Martell, or of course try to marry Cersei as Targaryens have for centuries. Which would be a scandal and not well liked idea by the people. He could take Cersei as his second wife or he marries Cersei off to Robert as canon does to secure more alliances for the throne and marries his kids with Dany to Cersei and Roberts.
Jamie would be a good King as he knows what a bad King is like. He makes sure that the Starks have their dead sent back to them, he makes sure the realm is stable and no fighting for a bit. He secures alliances when possible.
There's so many ways King Jamie could go depending on other context.

What would your thoughts be on a yan!cersei lannister with a Darling!Targaryen, Aerys and Rhaella's son who is constantly ignored due to being the second child? But Cersei doesn't just see him, but plans minutely how to make him great and loved, either like a prince or like a king, and everything will happen as long as he is by your side.
Ooh, I could definitely see Cersei pulling a Margaery and beginning to court Rhaegar’s brother after being denied her betrothal to him. Especially given that other high ladies wouldn’t be paying him too much mind since he isn’t anything like Rhaegar. She knows she can forge him into someone even greater then Rhaegar and that’s just what she’s going to do. She’ll have her Targaryen Prince one way or another.
When Tywin wants to take Cersei back to Casterly Rock so she doesn’t have to feel embarrassed or ashamed that her betrothal to Rhaegar as rejected, she would try to convince her father to form a betrothal with Rhaegar’s brother, the one everyone forgets. And Aerys would probably be more likely to allow this betrothal because he thinks it’ll be sabotaging to Tywin and his House to have his other child be a part of it. Cersei wouldn’t wait too long before beginning working on her darling becoming even better then Rhaegar. Is her obsession partly due to Cersei not being able to handle rejection well? Yes. Is this also because Cersei wants what she thinks she deserves? Definitely. But she also knows that she and her darling would become the ultimate power couple of all the Seven Kingdoms.
I think Cersei would be too preoccupied with putting all her time and attention into her new Targaryen!darling that I don’t think she’d have too much time for Jaime. She may not even pick on how neglectful she’s being towards him. But then again she’d be too caught up in her own selfishness to realize anything other then what she wants.
Wouldn’t it be a real slap in the face to all the people who ever underestimated and overall didn’t bother with trying to make the Targaryen!darling into being something more if they were the one to win against Robert in his rebellion. Like, Rhaegar still gets clapped but then in comes the Targaryen Prince everyone forgot and he kicks hella ass, winning the day. And all of that would be because of Cersei. All because she was able to sink her claws into him and make him into something much more than anyone could have ever fathomed. She’d get to be Queen and have a King by her side who she couldn’t be prouder of being married to. Hell, she’d even even be likely to birth her darling’s children instead of Jaime’s. Maybe even thinking of her and her darling’s children together as rewards for her darling becoming everything she strived for them to be. Not to mention when they do become king and queen she’d always have her claws in her darling, being the one influencing most if not all of his kingly decisions.
In the end, Cersei would be successful in her endeavors to forge something even greater then Rhaegar, or Robert, or any other king for that matter. Her darling would be her greatest creation and it’s all due to her being spiteful and taking what she wants. Proving everyone else wrong and that’s something she’ll never let anyone live down.

Gold and Red
Pairing(s): Jaime Lannister x Reader, Tommen Baratheon x Reader
Warnings: cheating, cuckolding, arranged marriage, affair
Words: 2491
Summary: How could you bring yourself to have sex with your child husband? Jaime, however, was a full grown man.
This was an old Tumblr request from my old account
You doted on your young husband, that much was clear to anyone who saw you with King Tommen. Adored him even, he was the sweetest, kindest, person you had ever met. There was just one thing wrong with your situation: He was but a child. You loved him as you would a younger brother but it was hard for you to consider him a sexual partner. He still had baby fat on his face and sweetness of youth in his eyes. When your father told you you were to marry him you found it hard to even conceive such an idea. Sure he was the King of Westeros now that his older brother Joffrey was dead, but he was still a child. You had doubted his own ability to be king.
When the two of you first met you knew though that given time, Tommen would be a wonderful king. A kind and generous king.
He was ever sweet with you, calling you his queen far before the two of you took your vows, holding your hand whenever possible. Tommen even introduced you to his kittens. He was by far the sweetest of his family.
That was why during your wedding night you saved him the utter embarrassment of him having to bed you. Instead you tucked him in and the two of you slept peacefully in one another’s embrace. There had been no witness to your consummation, much to your gratitude. You wouldn’t want to put Tommen through such a thing as sex when he was clearly not ready yet. You doubted that he had even hit puberty yet.
You saving him from that did nothing to help your image though. Months had gone by after your marriage and you still showed no signs of carrying a child. Many viewed you with contempt and you even heard the harsh whispers of how Tommen should have married Margaery; that perhaps you were infertile. House Tyrell’s words of “Growing Strong” weren’t for nothing. They were as fertile as their lush land.
How could you though? How could you have intercourse with a doe-eyed child who still possessed the looks of a young boy?
At least there was one person on your side. Cersei didn’t look at you as such. In fact, you would dare say that she was rather fond of you. Everyone knew how Cersei didn’t like Margaery. The Queen Mother always felt like her daughter-in-law was up to something. Not you though. You weren’t trying to monopolize her last living son by getting pregnant. If Cersei was happy, you wouldn’t complain. You knew what happened to those who upset her. At best she shunned them. At worst, well, you’d wind up miles under the ground.
Maybe someday you would try to be physical with Tommen. Perhaps once he showed outward signs of becoming a man. Not anytime soon though.
\
“(y/n), are you happy with me?” Tommen asks you one night, tucked into bed with Ser Pounce curled up next to him.
You were preparing to climb into bed next to him when you stop, knee propped up on the mattress. “Of course I am. Why wouldn’t I be?”
Sweet eyes like green confections gaze up at you bashfully. Full lips curl down into a frown as he pulls the sheets closer to his chin. “Sometimes you don’t look very happy. I’m not a good husband. . .”
Heart faltering at this loving boy, you crawl into bed and run your fingers through his golden hair; soft as a feather. “Don’t say such things, sweet lion. You make me very happy. You’re a very attentive husband.”
“Are you sure?”
Beaming down at him, your body leans in so that you could kiss the bridge of his nose. Tommen still smelled fresh from his bath. “Yes, I’m very sure.”
Finally he smiles and innocently kisses you on the lips.
“Have sweet dreams, my king.”
Immediately after that, Tommen was fast asleep while you sat up in bed wide awake. What you told him was true. You were happy with him. How could you not be? But there was something missing in your life that you hadn’t been aware of before.
Hands linger down your body, stalling at the area between your legs. The presence of your husband was all too heavy. Recoiling your hands back up to the top of your sheets you recline your head back onto the headboard of the bed. Your body ached. It ached for something between your legs, something that would fill you to the brim.
There was a wave of shame that bathed over you. Shaking your head you decide you wouldn’t be sleeping anytime soon. Quietly and carefully you slip from your marital bed and out the door. You really had no idea where you would go, but maybe walking around a bit would help soothe the tension between your legs and the racing of your heart.
He was such a sweetheart. You should’ve been happy with just that. Not everyone was lucky enough to be in an arranged marriage with such a kind hearted boy.
Your natural instincts were kicking in though, a more carnal instinct that was salivating at the mouth, begging to be fed.
“No, bad (y/n).” Scolding yourself quietly as you paced through the halls, your feet unconsciously walk to the path of the gardens outside. Fresh air would do you good.
“Cold night, isn’t it Your Grace?”
A chill runs up your back and not because of the aforementioned weather. Jaime Lannister. You knew it looked suspicious for you to be wandering the grounds at night.
“I couldn’t sleep.” You say while you turn to face him. “Thought maybe if I walked around for a bit it might make me sleepy.”
The light that cascaded from the swollen moon above illuminated Jaime’s armor and caught the gleam of his golden hair. Lannister gold. The same gold that your husband possessed.
Jaime too looked tired yet unable to bring himself to sleep. “Yes, I fear I suffer from sleeplessness as well. Surely your husband is missing you in bed.”
“He is sound asleep. Tommen won’t wake up until the morning.” Seating yourself on a cold, marble bench, you motion for Jaime to join you.
Clearly he hesitates, contemplating if it was appropriate to sit next to the Queen. Maybe even more so due to the fact that your husband was his nephew.
When you tilt your head there’s something that flashes in his eyes. You can’t quite describe what it was but it seemed to help him make up his mind.
He ducks his head as he takes the spot next to you, his armor clinking as he sits down.
“Why do you still wear your armor? Surely you would want to be rid of it as soon as you could. It looks terribly uncomfortable.”
Jaime chuckles and looks at you. Such pretty eyes like Tommen, but these were older and wiser. “I’ve worn this armor for so many years it doesn’t bother me one bit. My watch has just ended but I had to discuss something with the Queen Mother.” His mood darkens at the mention of his twin sister.
“Was it about something dire? Should I be concerned?” You sit straighter. Did it have something to do with the calamity in the north?
For you his mood becomes softer. “No need to fear, Your Grace. It was a personal matter. Not a good one though. Cersei is very upset with me.”
Relaxing a bit you unclench your fingers. “I don’t see why she would be so cross with you. You are the most upstanding night in all of Westeros. You escaped the Starks and came all the way back with only a missing hand. She should be appraising you.”
“Things have been different between us since the death of Joffrey.”
You grow quiet. Joffrey. You had heard about how terrible he had been yet everyone knew Cersei loved him with every fiber of her being. It was incredible when you thought about it. She loved her child so much that nothing he did could ever displease her. “She’s still grieving.”
A slight scoff breathes out of Jaime. “It’s more than that. But never mind. I don’t want to bore you with things that don’t concern you.”
“It’s not boring but I understand if you don’t want to talk about it.” You didn’t want to push him into saying anything he didn’t want to. Never before had you had such a long conversation with Jaime.
There really hadn’t been any occasion that called for the two of you to speak with one another. Even though you were now part of the Baratheon-Lannister family, you and Jaime were in different stations. You were queen of all Seven Kingdoms while he was in charge of the King’s Guard in protecting you and your husband. Even though he had such an elite status it still didn’t call for much interaction with you. All you really knew of Jaime Lannister was what everyone else knew. Becoming a knight at such a young age, being inducted into the Guard, and slaying Aerys Targaryen. All of those things you didn’t hear from Jaime’s mouth though. They were common knowledge. You wondered what Jaime had to say about all of that.
Ever since he returned from being held captive he looked like a changed man. Not just because of his missing hand, but just the weary expression on his face. Maybe he was still haunted from all he had been through. Something you would never really understand.
You gaze down at your own hand. What was it like? He built himself up all because he was an excellent swordsman and to just have that taken away from him all of a sudden must have been traumatic.
“Ser Jaime, would you join me for a drink?”
“Normally I would pass it up, but I hear that you brought an excellent wine from your land. How could I pass up a vintage wine from the south.”
The two of you walked silently to an antechamber that had a door connecting to the room where your husband still slept. On top of a large oak desk is a beautiful chest that your father had given you as a wedding gift. Inside were hand-crafted glass bottles filled with rich, red liquid that was so utterly sweet that one sip was never enough. The sweetness hid the fact that it could make even the heaviest of drinkers intoxicated within a few moments.
You always thought those were just rumors that the vintners boasted.
Boy were you in for it.
Within minutes both you and Jaime had fallen into chairs, divulging in every woe that you had to deal with. From complaining, the both of you progressed into storytelling, sometimes raunchy many times hilarious. It had been a while since anyone had spoken to you like you were a normal person. Even those you had been close with had started to treat you differently now that you were queen. Why?
Nothing had really changed about you, just your title.
Candles burned brightly as you slumped forward onto the desk, laying your head down while you tried to recuperate from the laughing fit you just had.
“We should keep it down.” Jaime tries to say seriously but chuckles at the end. “We don’t want to wake your sweet husband.”
“He is sound asleep like the babe he is.” Snorting, you force yourself up onto your elbows. The world around you was spinning in a delightful manner. “I love him, I truly do, but I wish he were more of a man. He’s still but a child.”
“The sacrifices of women.” Jaime sighed in faux distress. “You want a man but get a child.”
Slurred speech you relax your back against the chair that was way too big for you. “I want a man.”
At that Jaime leaned forward, his green eyes covered in a haze. “I’m a man.”
“You’re a knight in the King's Guard.”
“A man no less. I have yearnings like any other healthy man just like you have cravings like any other healthy woman. That didn’t change when you became queen.”
It certainly didn’t.
Despite being drunk, everything happened so fast. You found yourself on Jaime’s lap, his hand sliding up your thigh and pushing up the hem of your nightgown. Your lips against his own as you go to unfasten his trousers.
It was a night of gold and red as he penetrated you for the first time, ruining you for all other men. Gold stars shot across your vision as a thin red trail of blood trickled down your thigh.
Unfortunately you wouldn’t quite remember the exact details. The next morning you woke up next to Tommen with a nasty headache, naked in your bed. The maid who had woken you up had quite a surprised expression on her face. It probably mirrored your own.
Words spread rather fast about what she had seen, proof that you had been with your husband in an intimate way. Even though you didn’t remember everything you knew that it was Jaime you had been with and definitely not Tommen. You couldn’t correct them on that though. What you had done was punishable.
You found it hard to look Tommen in the eyes after that night. Even harder was being around Jaime, which was all the time since he was in the King’s Guard. He didn’t speak to you of that night and seemed equally determined to not bring it up. You didn’t take offense to it though. It made things easier for you that he wasn’t trying to start anything serious. Whatever happened was a one time thing that wouldn’t occur again. That night was enough for you. He scratched the itch that had been bothering you, nothing more nothing less.
But it turned into something much more.
Weeks later you found yourself so utterly sick that you couldn’t move an inch without getting nauseous. Tommen hovered over you, worried that you were maybe dying.
His concern made you smile. “I’m alright sweet lion.” You try and reassure him. The maester was right next to Tommen, having inspected you to see what your ailment could have been linked to.
“Your queen is right. There’s is nothing wrong with her. She’s simply pregnant.”
Both you and Tommen stare at the older man.
In a little voice, Tommen whispers “Pregnant?” Dear gods you hoped that he didn’t know yet how babies were made.
You felt even more sick and not because of the baby that was growing inside of you.
The maester was beside himself with join. “Congratulations! Everyone has been waiting for an heir! This must be such reassuring news for the both of you.”
Yes, it would’ve been if the baby had indeed been your husband’s. Instead it belonged to his uncle.

How the GoT Characters Propose To You
We’re BACK AT IT AGAIN FOLKS
In this imagine, you’ll be proposed to by: Ned Stark, Robb Stark, Sansa Stark, Jon Snow, Benjen Stark, Jory Cassel, Dolorous Edd, Yara Greyjoy, Daenerys Targaryen, Jorah Mormont, Missandei, Grey Worm, Tywin Lannister, Tyrion Lannister, Jaime Lannister, Sandor Clegane, Bronn, Petyr Baelish, Stannis Baratheon, Davos Seaworth, Margaery Tyrell, Brynden Tully, Edmure Tully, Brienne of Tarth, Ramsay Bolton, Roose Bolton, Oberyn Martell, Beric Dondarrion
NED STARK
In spite of the fact your families arranged this marriage years ago, Ned has to be his usual honorable, traditional self and go along with the expected courting process. That includes a formal proposal, but… that’s not for the purpose of tradition. The way he beams and looks at you with such adoration, you can tell he just really wants to hear you say “yes” to the proposal he shyly talks through. The ring is on the more modest side, combining the direwolf and your house’s sigil. There’s a personal touch on the inside; either an inscription or an engraving that has a special meaning to the two of you. He likely has a matching ring, very unassuming, that he wears whenever possible.
ROBB STARK
He didn’t expect to fall so completely for you during this stuffy courting process. Robb can’t believe how lucky he is, and it’s obvious to everyone how enamored he is with you. He’s ready to jump straight to the wedding, tradition be damned, but oh well. What he does do is give you the ring quite early, and his own proposal, even if your marriage has been long decided. His proposal is straightforward, but there’s love and earnestness in his eyes as he takes your hands and presents the ring he secretly acquired. It’s beautifully crafted, with silver direwolves and gemstones that match your house’s sigil for their eyes.
SANSA STARK
Sansa had thought about this for a long time. Letting that romantic spirit come back, even after you’d been together for a while, was difficult. The whole concept of marriage had become repulsive to her, but together the two of you could make it something different. She gave you an unassuming ring you could always wear, with gemstones that reminded her of your eyes. She tried not to cry with happiness as she gave her heartfelt proposal. You’d say your vows in the weirwoods, where she always wanted to be married. The whole day would seem like a dream to her, like the innocent daydreams she had as a girl, before the world took everything.
JON SNOW
He had it planned out: What he would say, where he would say it, but his nerves and doubts bite at him again and again. You can tell he’s been thinking about something for months, it’s been weighing on him, but you hadn’t expected this. It all makes sense when you both are alone in a godswood and Jon takes your hand … and finally blurts it all out. He had a silver ring made; you don’t know how he managed it, but it’s pretty in its simplicity. There’s a direwolf running across the ring, its teeth bared, and another one running beside it. A pack of two.
BENJEN STARK
The asking and ceremony would be more of a ‘symbolic’ thing - being you both were in the Night’s Watch, and you were in disguise. It’s why when he first asked you, you thought it was some silly jap. “Of course, Ben,” You rolled your eyes. “I would love to be your wife.” Then he took your hand, removed the old woolen glove covering it and put on a small, unassuming iron ring that fit you perfectly. Benjen couldn’t stop grinning as he asked you again. It’s a sweet moment you share high up on the wall, in the middle of the darkness, where it seems like you both are totally alone in the world. Days afterward, you notice the engravings of the direwolf inside the ring.
JORY CASSEL
No matter how long you both were together at this point, Jory gets tongue-tied and stumbles over what he carefully rehearsed. He’s still so sure you’ll refuse him, given the small land and influence his family has. He thought for a long time about what sort of ring to get you, and admittedly, he was thinking about it early on in the relationship. It’s something quite pretty and elegant, and it references your house and personal taste. Honorable and traditional as he was, it didn’t feel right going to your family for “formal” permission. He wanted to know your feelings first, and that you truly wanted the arrangement.
EDDISON TOLLETT
You being his “old lady” was a dumb in-joke you and Edd had for some time. You were disguised in the Night’s Watch, of course, but the way you two (playfully) bickered made everyone call you an exhausting old couple. Even when you both were alone, Edd would use “wife”, though you were increasingly aware it wasn’t a joke anymore. Finally he really asks you, even if it’s pointless, even if it’s while you both are freezing in the middle of a frozen wasteland. And even then, he’s still surprised you say yes. One day he ties a piece of old twine around your finger, blushing the whole time, insisting you don’t have to keep it on if you don’t want to.
YARA GREYJOY
If you were from the greenlands, from the get-go, Yara liked to refer to you as her salt wife. It was half teasing, half telling the other Ironborn to stay away. Whenever she’d say it, she’d keep such a protective hold on your waist, you were half-convinced she was going to carry you off to her ship. Eventually she made good on that promise. If you were Ironborn, Yara would be more willing to be forward. She’d tell you about some story she heard from her uncle about brides of the sea, women who stayed together and never married, though you knew she wasn’t one for fancies. Regardless, she’d have matching necklaces made for the both of you, leather and iron, like most of what she owns. She keeps it protected under her clothes.
DAENERYS TARGARYEN
Oh, she’s brought it up with you plenty of times - how you’ll be her Queen before gods and men, no matter what anyone thinks. The thing is, you both never did a grand ceremony. There were other matters to attend to, but Daenerys always made it clear to visitors who you were to her. She has plans for a wonderful ceremony once she takes her throne back, a celebration of your unbreakable union… Well, until then, you both can have your private vows. There’s dozens of beautiful things she’s given you (mostly from suitors who won’t bugger off), but your favorite is a necklace she had specially made. It’s a necklace of obsidian with dragons in flight, all connected together. The three largest dragons have a ruby, a diamond and an emerald for their eyes - a reference to her children, who are also fond of you. You two also wear matching obsidian bands with small rubies, made from the same stone as the necklace.
JORAH MORMONT
First, you knew this was happening. Jorah wears his heart on his sleeve and that’s even more evident when he’s worried about something. You noticed he was being both especially loving and anxious. You considered saying something, but he was clearly waiting for a perfect moment. Seriously, he’d look ready to say something, then back off at the last second at least a dozen times. Finally Jorah asked you, with the most loving smile on his face, and he was so choked up when you accepted - as if he really thought you’d refuse. You’ve told him before that you don’t need anything fancy, but he still gets you a lovely and elegant ring with silver-black engravings of small bears and another animal you’re fond of. He’s thrilled if you got him a matching ring or necklace; again, Jorah didn’t imagine you’d want such a thing. He’d wear it constantly and it’d become something he’d fiddle with when he was nervous.
MISSANDEI
Missandei would wait for you to pop the question because, in truth, she never imagined you’d want to. She understood that was a tradition in your home country, but you were both women, and she was… well, she just didn’t expect it. But Missandei’s eyes light up with surprise and adoration at your earnest question, and she says yes without even thinking. She isn’t one for anything fancy, but she’d love you both to have a matching set of bracelets, necklaces or rings - something elegant but not flashy, perhaps with stones or engravings that mean something personal to the both of you. She’d always wear it, even if she had to hide it under her clothes for some reason or another. She’s terribly flustered when someone asks her who it’s from and what it means.
GREY WORM
Oh, no no no. He’d grown a lot beside you, and as Daenerys’ commander, but there were still areas where Grey Worm felt like he wasn’t enough. It would take a lot of prodding and reassurance from Missandei before he’d finally start planning. You’d wonder what he was up to, and he’d just shyly say it was a surprise and you’d learn eventually. His proposal is sweet and faltering; he tried to stay serious, but he just couldn’t when you looked at him with those kind eyes. Grey Worm decided to make the jewelry himself - it would be an intricate leather bracelet with gemstones inlaid. He hunted the animal and tanned the leather himself, and spent many evenings hurting his fingers to put it together. He has a matching one, though it’s far simpler.
TYWIN LANNISTER
First off, this was a marriage arranged well in advance, so you didn’t expect any extended courting or proposals. This was Tywin, after all. Still he managed to surprise you a fortnight before the wedding with an absurdly jeweled ringbox. The ring itself was Lannister gold, and you anticipated lions and rubies… but it was your house’s sigil, with your birthstone inlaid, and small lions along the band. It’s far more than you anticipated from such a man. And when Tywin presented it to you, you sensed his expectation, and the heat in his eyes... He would never admit to wanting your approval, but that look was saying otherwise. Some years later, you have more jewelry than you could dream of, but you still wear that original ring most often. You’ll catch him glancing at it when you put it on, or twist it around your finger, then he’ll glance aside like he wasn’t watching.
TYRION LANNISTER
Naturally, he’s been thinking of this and planning it for weeks, maybe months, depending on how in love he is. Even if it’s a marriage of love, Tyrion will still have late-night nagging thoughts that you’ll back out, or you’re doing it out of duty. When he takes your hand and gives you the sweetest proposal you’ve ever heard, he still isn’t sure… until you kiss him and tell him what a silly man he’s being. Of course you’d accept. The ring has beautiful craftsmanship, with delicate flowers, lions and gemstones matching your house. It’s rosegold and silver rather than Lannister gold, and the inscription inside is something of an in-joke between you two, likely a quote from a book.
JAIME LANNISTER
You were concerned when he first approached you. It’s rare Jaime is this solemn with you, and he’d been acting strange the past week. Then he started to speak, and you realized he was nervous. His cheeks were starting to get red, and he was having trouble looking right at you. His nervousness came from the fact that Jaime wasn’t entirely sure you’d say yes, no matter how long you’d been together, no matter how confident he was that whole time. All the doubts would begin to creep, and before you could even answer, he considered backing out. But you said yes, and the smile that grew on his face was so wonderful to see. Jaime doesn’t want anything fancy or ceremonial, tradition and his family name be damned. The ring is gold, naturally, but it’s simple and charming. There’s small, pretty gemstones inlaid beside lion engravings.
SANDOR CLEGANE
At this point, you two have been married in all but name for years. He has his own thoughts on marriage, and you have your’s, and there was never a rush. People in the village already thought you already took vows, so honestly, you might have kids before Sandor starts considering something a little official. It would be something simple, but heartfelt. He’d have a fancy leather bracelet woven for you, or a simple silver ring, if you’d prefer that. He wouldn’t want much for himself, and would be flustered if you made something - but he’d absolutely wear it. Instead of taking the three black dogs from the Clegane sigil, you both would think of something new.
BRONN
He’s made all sorts of stupid jokes about marriage, especially now that he’s a proper lord. You’ve never taken any of it seriously, especially when these sentimental rambles come from when he’s drunk and wanting under your dress. Other times are when you’re out and about and pass a sept - “We oughta made it official, then go straight to the wedding night” - really, you never expected him to be serious about it. One evening he tossed something shiny at you, and you caught it. It was a beautiful ring with a huge diamond … and your first thought is if he stole it. He didn’t look at you, only mumbled something about maybe talking to your family. Maybe considering it for real. Bronn’s terrible with emotions, especially speaking them out loud. His gestures speak louder, and the whole time he’s talking he’s trying not to look at you.
PETYR BAELISH
Naturally he planned out the whole proposal - the right location, what he would say, and a beautiful ring that meant something important to you. It wasn’t big and conspicuous, rather it was something absolutely tailored for you, with a mockingbird etched inside. Petyr starts strong as he takes your hand, but begins to falter in his words when you look at him with such adoration. That undivided attention and love just gets him flustered, though he knew you’d accept. This was all part of his plan, but even knowing it would happen didn’t make him any less pleased.
STANNIS BARATHEON
Your houses had been in discussion about the betrothal for a while, but being the man he was, Stannis still wanted to do the usual courting and formal proposal. His words were blunt, the tips of his ears were turning red and he kept darting his eyes away, but he said it. He remembers the ring when you accept, and you assumed he had it ordered without much thought… Though when you look at it, you notice it’s not just pretty woven gold and black diamonds. In the center of the diamonds is your birthstone, and you wonder if he added that touch - your parents certainly wouldn’t have. Even after you’ve been married for years and have plenty of jewelry to pick from, Stannis gets a little flushed that you wear the first ring he gave you so often.
DAVOS SEAWORTH
Your dear Davos made your ring, a pretty and modest thing he created with the help of a blacksmith friend (you were wondering where those little burns on his fingers came from). You both had been together for a while now, talking about marriage here and there but never actually doing it. When he takes your hand, he’s bashful, though he gets through his words. They’re sweet and honest, like you expected. He knew you’d say yes, but he wanted to say it, and to give you the ring. Even if you don’t want a ceremony, he wanted to give you this. It’s a pretty silver and iron ring with pretty engraved flowers, your favorite, and a loving inscription on the inside.
MARGAERY TYRELL
First off, she’d been asking you strange questions for weeks. You could tell she wanted to get you a gift, and she wanted it to be just right. Then you realized she must have some sort of elaborate date planned… Well, you didn’t expect the wonderful evening to end in a proposal. Even if it wasn’t possible for you by the laws of Westeros, Margaery didn’t care. She had a beautiful ring made for you, and she had her “vows” ready. As far as she’s concerned, your hearts belong together, and the gods will understand. She only cries a little, but she’s mostly beaming as you say yes and allow her to put it on your finger.
The gold ring is made wonderfully, with sculpted roses and a large emerald in the center, with her birthstone around it. Margaery wanted a matching one, but that might be suspicious. So, her ring is your favorite flower sculpted with your birthstone in the center.
BRYNDEN TULLY
All his life Brynden resisted the brides his brother threw at him, absolutely sure he was going to die a warrior and not some lazy lord… Well, you certainly changed that perspective, though he likes to say he’s still too old and you ought to spend your life with someone else. Because he thinks it’s the right thing to do, and you deserve it - and with the upcoming war - he gets the ring. Brynden is actually flustered the whole time, giving you a curt and honest proposal. He wants to be with you until the rest of his days - even if they’re numbered - if you’ll have him. No fancy ceremony, ideally, it’s just the two of you. The ring itself is unusual and also not traditional. It’s cool silver with black etchings, and the sigils are your house’s sigil or a favorite flower. It’s not very Tully, except for a small chain of trout engraved on the inside.
EDMURE TULLY
He’s completely confident in this proposal. And why not? You both adore each other, the marriage has been planned for well over a year now, he has just the right place to ask you… Though he’s so excited, he ends up stumbling over some words while he asks you. The official arrangement had already been announced, but he still wanted to do something private and romantic. It was difficult for Edmure to keep the ring a secret. He oversaw every step of it being made, and when he notices you looking at it, it makes him very happy. It’s an elegant silver ring inlaid with diamonds, rubies and sapphires; the latter being in a wavy formation like the Tully banner. You think it’s a bit extravagant, but he says otherwise.
BRIENNE OF TARTH
She’s been thinking about it over and over… you can tell she’s been agonizing about something for months. Finally she shyly presents you with a pretty and simple gold bracelet she figured you could always wear; stumbles over her words to explain it, then you understand her meaning. Yall find an abandoned sept and do cute lil vows and shes crying lol. You rlly want her to wear something similar and she’s just blushing the whole time but she agrees; she takes extremely good care of the necklace/bracelet and wears it under her armor.
RAMSAY BOLTON
Your parents and Roose made the arrangement, so you and Ramsay had little say in the matter. Still, he loves to play his roles, so he wanted to play the part of the attentive, doting lord, especially in front of your family. Though you’re surprised by the unusual ring he gives you; it’s two smooth rings interlocking with each other. The proposal is a little intense and unsettling, but you notice something when he puts it on your finger. He has small burns on his fingers, like had smithed it himself… And you wonder how he knew your ring size… Later on, when you both are married and living in the Dreadfort, sometimes he’ll take your hand and run his thumb over the cold ring.
ROOSE BOLTON
You both were officially engaged for some time, so he didn’t have to do any sort of proposal. When you both were at a private, quiet place in the gardens, and he took your hand. You weren’t expecting it at all. It was simple enough. He promised to look after you, to ensure your protection and health. It almost seemed… genuine, though those eyes were cold as ever. The ring was another surprise. You realized it was an heirloom, but it still looked impeccable. It was iron that was twisted into an elegant shape, with rubies and morganite. The largest ruby was in the center, shaped like a tear-drop… or maybe that was a blood-drop? You notice afterward he’ll glance at your hand each time you meet, as if concerned you wouldn’t wear it.
OBERYN MARTELL
You both had been paramours for years now, and you didn’t need the ring to be happy or official… So it surprised you when after a wonderful evening of dancing and drinking, and pressing against each other in the gardens, he asked you the question. It was romantic, like you’d expect, but also so earnest. Oberyn always wears his feelings on his sleeves, but this didn’t seem like a spur-of-the-moment passionate proposal. His words seemed like he’d worked on them for a long time. Oberyn is understanding if you want to stay paramours and not an official Lady Martell, as that title comes with trappings and expectations. He just had to ask you and hear your acceptance. The ring he gives you is gold, with vibrant topaz and rubies. The inside is engraved with the spear of Martell. You later learn from his brother that it’s a beloved family heirloom.
BERIC DONDARRION
The two of you don’t have much, but you’ve been in love for a long time and he very much wants a “proper” ceremony to express that. He shyly proposed to you in the moonlight after you both made love, and the almost desperation in his voice surprised you. He gave you a smooth, iron ring with a faint design of interwoven flames. The “ceremony” is a drunk Thoros and equally drunk septon his men found, for a double ceremony! It’s extra luck! Or something like that. Beric insists that makes it even more official, and he’ll marry you under a Godswood too, if you come across one. He’s full of smiles and wants to bridal carry you every chance he gets.

If Rheagar was such a bad guy then why does most of westeros still think about him positively after the Rebellion?
This ended up being a long response, so I'm going to put a lot of it under the cut for length.
First of all, even if most of Westeros thought that Rhaegar was fantastic, that still wouldn’t mean that he actually was fantastic. Perception plays a huge role in politics, which is obvious from Sansa’s observation about Margaery and the Tyrells:
The smallfolk cheered them as well.
The same smallfolk who pulled me from my horse and would have killed me, if not for the Hound. Sansa had done nothing to make the commons hate her, no more than Margaery Tyrell had done to win their love.
Reality does not always equal perception, especially where the rich and powerful are concerned.
Second, there’s absolutely no evidence that most of Westeros thinks about Rhaegar positively. In fact, quite the opposite. The story that has been told across Westeros ever since Robert’s Rebellion is that Rhaegar kidnapped and raped Lyanna; that’s the story that Robert (as the new king) spreads, and it’s what most people believe, including children like Bran:
“Robert was betrothed to marry her, but Prince Rhaegar carried her off and raped her,” Bran explained. “Robert fought a war to win her back. He killed Rhaegar on the Trident with his hammer, but Lyanna died and he never got her back at all.”
That doesn’t sound too positive to me.
Third, it may seem like Rhaegar is viewed as mostly positive because of the POV trap. We only really get a few people’s outright opinions about Rhaegar (instead of vague or implied ones): Daenerys, Jorah, Ned, Bran, Barristan, Cersei, Jaime, Robert, and Jon Connington.
Of those, 2 of them (Bran and Robert) see Rhaegar negatively, 2 of them (Ned and Jaime) see him almost indifferently (I’ll talk about that later), and 5 of them (Daenerys, Jorah, Barristan, Cersei, and Jon Connington) see him positively. That seems like there is more good than bad, but you have to look at the context.
Daenerys certainly isn’t going to view her brother (that she never met but has heard tales about from Viserys) as a villain when she’s been told a very different story, and even if Jorah and Barristan didn't like Rhaegar, they would never tell Daenerys that. It’s also worth noting that Jorah traded slaves and Barristan was part of a Kingsguard which has seriously questionable morals, so I can’t say that I hold either of their opinions in high regards.
Jon Connington thinks of Rhaegar in a positive light because he was in love with him, but ironically enough, he barely knew him. That's obvious from the fact that he was more jealous of Elia’s relationship with Rhaegar than Lyanna’s, which would make no sense if he truly knew what transpired and what Rhaegar was thinking.
Cersei thinks of Rhaegar positively because Rhaegar is to her what Lyanna is to Robert – a fantasy of what could have been that serves as an escape from the awful reality. Robert has abused Cersei countless times, and she’s understandably unhappy with him. She didn’t even know Rhaegar, but she deludes herself into thinking that her life would have been better if she had married him:
If she had only married Rhaegar as the gods intended, he would never have looked twice at the wolf girl. Rhaegar would be our king today and I would be his queen, the mother of his sons.
This is just like the way Robert deludes himself into thinking that he would be happy if he married Lyanna. Neither of these ideas are based in reality.
There’s also an unrealistic perception of royalty that comes into play. Look at what happens to Cersei:
Cersei was soiled goods now, her power at an end. Every baker's boy and beggar in the city had seen her in her shame and every tart and tanner from Flea Bottom to Pisswater Bend had gazed upon her nakedness, their eager eyes crawling over her breasts and belly and woman's parts. No queen could expect to rule again after that. In gold and silk and emeralds Cersei had been a queen, the next thing to a goddess; naked, she was only human, an aging woman with stretch marks on her belly and teats that had begun to sag … as the shrews in the crowds had been glad to point out to their husbands and lovers.
The perception (as opposed to the reality) is what really sets the royal family apart, and Rhaegar certainly had an advantage in that regard: he was a handsome and intelligent prince and a talented jouster and swordsman. On paper, that sounds great, so for people who didn’t really know him (like Cersei and Jon), what’s not to love?
Also, compare that to Aerys (who was growing increasingly paranoid and delusional and even looked like he was going mad by refusing to cut his hair or nails) & Robert (who was an abusive, angry drunk). To people like Barristan, Rhaegar seemed like the lesser of all evils (though the bar is certainly set very low).
Now think about the two people who view Rhaegar almost indifferently: Jaime and Ned. With Jaime, I say it’s indifferent because his memories and thoughts about Rhaegar aren’t really based on his opinion about him; they are more about his guilt at failing to protect Rhaegar’s children, which I think he realistically would have felt regardless of how he felt about the prince. It’s no secret that Jaime hates Robert, but he doesn’t seem to particularly love Rhaegar either. He mostly just gives facts about him that are tainted by his youth and his guilt.
Ned’s opinion is what people usually point to as an excuse for Rhaegar “not being so bad” because if Ned doesn’t hate him, then surely he must not have been so awful 🙄 The irony of that is that Ned had a much greater opinion of Robert than he deserved (at first), but that certainly doesn’t mean that Robert was a saint. And he mostly just remembers facts about Rhaegar; the only “positive” thing he thinks is this:
There was no answer Ned Stark could give to that but a frown. For the first time in years, he found himself remembering Rhaegar Targaryen. He wondered if Rhaegar had frequented brothels; somehow he thought not.
If not frequenting brothels is the standard for being a great person, then his expectations are far too low.
I also think this is rooted in Ned’s misogyny. Even though Ned doesn’t think poorly of Lyanna (which he shouldn’t), he knows that she went with Rhaegar willingly, and because of that, he doesn’t seem to fault Rhaegar for the power imbalance as much as he should.
Since he doesn't think of Rhaegar as a rapist, that implies that he seems to just accept that this was a bad decision that Rhaegar and Lyanna made together that had domino effects. It's not as bad as some characters thinking that Lyanna “seduced” Rhaegar, but it still doesn't put the blame fully where it belongs (by acknowledging that Lyanna was still a child who Rhaegar took advantage of).
Ned clearly still loved Lyanna dearly, but I do think he didn’t understand her decision to run away with Rhaegar in the first place, and part of that is because his views about Robert didn't match up with hers (which was obvious when he assured her that Robert was a good man who was true and would love her with all his heart). Even though he told Robert that he didn’t see the iron underneath Lyanna’s beauty, he still somehow thinks that Robert loved her truly:
Lyanna had only been sixteen, a child-woman of surpassing loveliness. Ned had loved her with all his heart. Robert had loved her even more. She was to have been his bride.
That’s one of the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read, and yet somehow Ned believes that. By the time he starts thinking about Rhaegar again, he’s finally seeing Robert more clearly, and because of that, he’s finally beginning to think about/understand why Lyanna made the decision that she did. So I personally think that Ned's thoughts about Rhaegar (above) have more to do with Lyanna than the prince.
This became way longer than I intended, and I feel like I went off on a few tangents (sorry), but to sum it up: Not everyone views Rhaegar positively, and even if they did, it doesn’t make him a good person. He left his wife and children to kidnap a girl that was still a child, locked said girl in a tower without access to her family while she was pregnant, and set into motion a war that killed so many innocent people. I don’t care how many people “liked” him in the books; Rhaegar was still a jerk.

Operation Stumpy Re-Read
AGOT: Tyrion IX (Chapter 69)
The last one!
His father had set a grueling pace, and it had taken its toll. Men wounded in the battle kept up as best they could or were abandoned to fend for themselves. Every morning they left a few more by the roadside, men who went to sleep never to wake. Every afternoon a few more collapsed along the way. And every evening a few more deserted, stealing off into the dusk. Tyrion had been half-tempted to go with them.
"When soldiers lack discipline, the fault lies with their lord commander," his father said. - Tyrion VIII, AGOT
+.+
Better than you, you chinless craven, Tyrion thought. Jaime might have lost Riverrun, but it angered him to hear his brother slandered by the likes of Swyft, a shameless lickspittle whose greatest accomplishment was marrying his equally chinless daughter to Ser Kevan, and thereby attaching himself to the Lannisters.
Tyrion, a very proud Lannister.
+.+
"You said they came at night," Ser Kevan prompted.
The man gave a weary nod. "The Blackfish led the van, cutting down our sentries and clearing away the palisades for the main assault. By the time our men knew what was happening, riders were pouring over the ditch banks and galloping through the camp with swords and torches in hand. I was sleeping in the west camp, between the rivers.
A night attack actually properly executed. I’m starting to think George wants us to notice the difference.
+.+
He was a fool, Tyrion thought, swirling his cup and staring down into the winy depths. Crossing a river at night on a crude raft, wearing armor, with an enemy waiting on the other side—if that was gallantry, he would take cowardice every time.
My spidey senses are tingling, but I’ve got nothing.
+.+
He retreated in good order when he saw that the other camps were lost, with two thousand spears and as many bowmen, but the Tyroshi sellsword who led his freeriders struck his banners and went over to the foe."
"Curse the man." His uncle Kevan sounded more angry than surprised. "I warned Jaime not to trust that one. A man who fights for coin is loyal only to his purse."
A sellsword defected to the Starks.
Again, I’ve got nothing, but I’m taking mental note.
+.+
"I had heard that Queen Cersei has the Hand's daughters," Lefford said hopefully. "If we give the lad his sisters back …"
Ser Addam snorted disdainfully. "He would have to be an utter ass to trade Jaime Lannister's life for two girls."
Not a great look when Robb concurs with these people.
+.+
"Joff's only a boy," Tyrion pointed out. "At his age, I committed a few follies of my own."
He’s going to say this exact same thing about Daenerys, isn’t he?
+.+
My grandson still sits the Iron Throne, but the eunuch has heard whispers from the south. Renly Baratheon wed Margaery Tyrell at Highgarden this fortnight past, and now he has claimed the crown. The bride's father and brothers have bent the knee and sworn him their swords."
How nice, Margaery is starting her new collection of fraudulent Baratheon kings.
+.+
"Robb Stark will have Edmure Tully and the lords of the Trident with him now. Their combined power may exceed our own. And with Roose Bolton behind us … Tywin, if we remain here, I fear we might be caught between three armies."
with Roose Bolton behind us
with Roose Bolton behind us
with Roose Bolton behind us
Damn you, George.
+.+
"Unleash Ser Gregor and send him before us with his reavers. Send forth Vargo Hoat and his freeriders as well, and Ser Amory Lorch. Each is to have three hundred horse. Tell them I want to see the riverlands afire from the Gods Eye to the Red Fork."
Fuck off. Get shot on a toilet already.

"Telling Shagga and Timett how to pillage is like telling a rooster how to crow," Tyrion commented, "but I should prefer to keep them with me." Uncouth and unruly they might be, yet the wildlings were his, and he trusted them more than any of his father's men. He was not about to hand them over.
Everything about Tyrion screams Jon Snow’s future rival, not ally or friend.
+.+
Whose notion was it to make this Janos Slynt a lord? The man's father was a butcher, and they grant him Harrenhal. Harrenhal, that was the seat of kings! Not that he will ever set foot inside it, if I have a say.
Tywin sent Janos Slynt to the Wall, not Tyrion.
(Harrenhal, the seat of kings!)

Lord Tywin was oft quiet in council, preferring to listen before he spoke, a habit Tyrion himself tried to emulate.

"Peace?" Tyrion swirled his wine thoughtfully, took a deep draft, and hurled his empty cup to the floor, where it shattered into a thousand pieces.
x
"I see you have taken a few lessons from me."
"More than you know, Father," Tyrion answered quietly.
Tyrion Lannister is his father’s son.
+.+
"One last thing," he said at the door. "You will not take the whore to court."
x
When he felt her nipple stiffen, Tyrion kissed her. "I have a mind to take you to King's Landing, sweetling," he whispered.
Tyrion orchestrating his own demise is my favourite.
Final thoughts:
9 down, 30 to go. :(
God, am I still in the thirties?

What if Joffrey was not killed at the purple wedding
Okay, so I want to get the obvious ones out of the way first. Joffrey would have lived and his marriage to Margaery would be consummated. Sansa and Tyrion would have stayed in King's Landing. Petyr would actually be in the Vale and married to Lysa.
Joffrey lives, that means no trial and Tyrion does not go to Meereen to be with Dani. Oberyn does not die in a battle by combat, however, he does continue to poison Tywin. Eventually, Tywin succumbs and he dies. It takes a few months, but it does happen.
Around this time, Margaery learns that she is with child.
Joffrey's torment of both Tyrion and Sansa increases, as does his belief that he is invincible. Life at court becomes nearly unbearable. With Tywin's death, Casterly Rock technically passes to Tyrion. However, neither Cersei nor Joffrey let Tyrion and Sansa leave. In order to keep Tyrion in KL, to keep Sansa under his thumb, Joffrey names Tyrion as hand of the king.
Cersei advices against this but Joffrey does not list. He doesn't realize how powerful the Hand is.
Petyr and Lysa return to King's Landing for the funeral, and because now that Tyrion is Hand of the King, Joffrey is calling Petyr back to take his place as Master of Coin. Petyr quickly notices the torment that he is inflicting upon Sansa. He asks her if there was a way to end Joffrey, would she do it. She says yes.
Petyr and Sansa begin spending time together, plotting. Tyrion is oblivious to this, trying to reign in Joffrey's fits of anger. Lysa, however, does notice and begins to suspect that Sansa and Petyr were having an affair. Petyr, knowing that Lysa was about to blow the plot to kill Joffrey wide open, murders her, making it look like a suicide.
No one is shocked by her apparent death and it's not questioned.
When Margaery is merely days about from going into labor, Joffrey throws a week long festival for the arrival of his impending heir. This is when he is poisoned. It happens similar to the purple wedding, he is poisoned by the strangler.
However, no one knows who poisoned Joffrey. Cersei is convinced that it was Tyrion, but since Tywin is dead and Tyrion is the hand, he refutes this. He states that he will investigate it and find who killed Joffrey.
Since Tyrion never went to Meereen, things with the Sons of the Harpy's go south and she is killed.
The line of succession is thrown into question due to Margaery's pregnancy. However, mere days after Joffrey dies, she goes into labor and delivers a healthy baby boy who she names Garland Baratheon. Margaery is named Queen Mother of the youngest king in history. She quickly takes over the court.
The first thing she does is give Casterly Rock to Jaime, releasing him from the King's Guard. She sends him West and all but commands that Cersei go with him. Tommen, however, remains behind as her ward. In truth, she hopes to secure him as a husband incase anything were to happen to Garland.
She also offers an annulment between Sansa and Tyrion, which they take. She hands the North back to Sansa and commands that the Boltons, answer for their crimes. However, she does not offer an army to Sansa, mainly because there is not enough men to fight in those conditions.
Petyr, however, offers to have the Knights of the Vale reclaim the North for her. Margaery removes Tyrion as hand, putting her father in place, and since Petyr was heading back to the Vale, offers the position to Tyrion. Since his only other option was to go to Casterly Rock with Cersei, he agrees.
Petyr and Sansa head to the Vale, where they begin planning their attack on the North. However, Petyr is not overly popular in the Vale but he is Robin's guardian. Knowing that his claim is fickle, he begins to seduce Sansa. He does not take her maidenhead but his softer in his pursuits.
They lead the army North and regain Winterfell, executing Roose and Ramsey Bolton, along with Theon. Rickon would have already been given to Ramsey and Roose, thus killed immediately. Bran is still lost beyond the wall. Sansa claims Winterfell. Petyr asks for her hand in marriage, to which she quickly agrees. They marry and remain the Lord and Lady of Winterfell for years, with the understanding that any of their children would have their mother's surname instead of their fathers.
They have several children, including a daughter by the name Alayne Stark. Eventually, when Garland is old enough to take the throne for himself, Petyr and Sansa travel south with their children. Petyr quickly introduces Garland to his daughter, who eventually becomes the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.

Hiii! Welcome back!!! If you are still taking requests, how about an one shot where Cersei kind of notices the tension between Jon and Sansa and comments on it? Maybe in a "We are not so different" way? Or she straight up encourages them bc she's a horrible person and thinks if there are rumors about the Starks, they'll forget about the Lannisters?
ANON. whew this has been in my ask box for a while! but i opened my inbox to find some inspiration to write and yours was the one that clicked first! so i hope you see this, anon, wherever you are, and know that i FINALLY got to your prompt request!!!
as always, you're always welcome to drop a prompt request in my inbox.
enjoy!
The ball is grand and glittering.
Cersei has ensured that this night would be perfect, putting far more coin into it than Robert ever would have allowed. But there is little else she can do, what with the trouble brewing all around them. She's lost one son already, she will not lose another- and so she has gone to great expense and trouble to make sure that this room was full of loyal nobles and fearsome knights. This wedding would not end the way the last one had, even if the bride was the same.
From where she sits, she watches as the young Sansa Stark dances with her half brother, the bastard born Jon Snow. The young man had been intended for the Night's Watch, but Tyrion had developed a fondness for the boy during their visit North, and so, he'd come along with the Stark's. They are close together, the dance bringing them so, but the smile that lights up the redhead's face is one that Cersei swears she's worn herself, but when she looks upon Jaime. And the usually stoic Snow looks just as delighted to spin his sister out and back in, hands at her waist to lift her high into the air as the music swells. Cersei chuckles, wondering how's she's not noticed it ever before. The wheels in her brain are suddenly spinning, whirling several thoughts throughout that bring yet another smile to her face.
As if her thoughts have conjured him, she feels Jaime's presence at her elbow; he bows over his arm, ever the courtier, but she knows it's more for show than anything else. "What has you so cheery?" He asks, his green eyes scanning the dance floor, where sure enough his gaze falls upon the Stark siblings as they finish their dance among all the others, though it quite seems they've forgotten they aren't alone. "They make a handsome pair, do they not?" Turning back to face his lover, he sees he's right, for she's staring down at them with a look he's seen before. "What are you thinking?"
"That proud Ned Stark's children are falling in love right before our very eyes." They both knew what the world would say about two siblings, albeit half, falling in love. Was it not why they themselves took every precaution? Cersei shudders to think what would happen if the truth was ever discovered... The rumors were bad enough. But this... Two Stark children in love? It would cease the rumors about her and Jaime, that she was certain of. She watches as Sansa dips a quick curtsy to Jon before he offers her his arm, which she readily takes, and they disappear into the crowd.
"See that Lady Stark is brought to me tomorrow morning, won't you?" She says to the nearest lady, who nods, curtsying before she scurries away to do as she's been bid. Cersei turns back to face the dance floor, but it's suddenly become far less interesting.
And so she must wait until morning.
It's late, yet she cannot bring herself to leave his arms.
Jon holds fast to her, kissing the top of her head, her silk gown soft beneath his touch as his hands span the length of her spine. "I should go..." She whispers for the tenth time, though his grip does not relent, nor does she make any attempt to pull away. He smells of spice and smoke, comforting and strong; she buries her face deeper into his chest, wishing she could sink into him. "Jon..."
His name is soft on her lips.
Their gazes meet and he's lost, as he always is, in the depth of her blue eyes. "I know," is all he can say, knowing as well as she that it was best for her to go. They both knew where this moment would lead- after all, how many times had they been here before? But more than anything, they both knew what would happen if they were discovered in such an embrace. And yet... There's a part of him that doesn't care. There's a part of him that wishes with all of his might that they could be together in the way that they wanted. No more secret midnight rendezvous that only left them both feeling more strained than being without the other. "I'll walk you to your rooms..." He begins, but she shakes her head.
"Shae is waiting," she says softly, finally freeing herself from his grip. She feels cold without his touch and that is almost enough to send her back into his arms. "I will see you in the morning," she goes on, reaching out her hand to tenderly touch his. Jon nods, catching her hand so he might bring it to his lips to kiss. The brush of his lips to her knuckles steals the breath from her lungs and time is suspended as they stand there, the only sound in the room that of the fire burning in the hearth. "Until the morning..."
"Until the morning," he parrots back as he let's go of her hand. "Good night, Sansa."
The way he says her name sends shivers down her spine. "Good night, Jon." She says instead of every other thing she wants to say.
In the morning, a lady arrives at her door to inform her she's been summoned to see the queen.
Though no longer truly queen, Cersei Lannister runs the Seven Kingdoms through her youngest son, the now King Tommen. Just a boy, he's been married to Margaery Tyrell, who only several weeks before had instead been married to Joffrey. Poison had taken care of him, but Margaery and her family, ever the schemers, ensured that she would take her place as queen. Sansa was certain that it would not be long before a new power struggle would emerge. Soon, it would be Margaery and the Tyrell's fighting for control of poor, young Tommen.
Once she's dressed, Sansa, with Shae beside her, makes her way down to Cersei's office.
When she's been announced, she steps into the room, one which she has spent much time in over her years in King's Landing. Once she had been thrilled to be invited into this room, to spend private time with Queen Cersei... But things have changed. Though she dips her the curtsy due to her rank, Sansa does not return the smile offered to her by the golden haired woman behind her oak desk. "Lady Stark, tell me, how did you enjoy the ball last night?" Cersei asks, gesturing for Sansa to take the empty chair across from her. The young woman frowns, but does as she's bid, clearly surprised by the question. Cersei notices she wears a new gown of pale blue damask, made from a bolt of fabric she was given by Jon Snow a few short weeks ago; though it is fashioned in the Southern style, Cersei sees that the trailing sleeves are stitched with falling leaves, weirwood leaves, like those that grow in the North. Even her hair, which once she wore in styles that mirrored her own, is fastened into braids in a way that reminds Cersei of Catelyn Stark. It is Sansa's way of breaking with the Lannister's entirely; she is no longer theirs to control.
"It was wonderful, your grace," Sansa answers honestly, shifting slightly in the chair, brushing a lock of red hair across a shoulder before she accepts the goblet of wine being offered to her. "Very grand." She goes on, though she's no longer thinking of the ball, but of the last dance she and Jon had shared together.
"Your brother is quite the elegant dancer, I must say I'm surprised." Cersei's voice breaks into her thoughts and Sansa blinks in surprise. This certainly was not the topic of conversation she expected to have upon being summoned to this room. "The two of you make quite the couple." At this, Sansa chokes on the sip of wine she's just taken, her stare wild and frantic as it rises up to meet the queen. Inside, Cersei is laughing- she's been right there was Sansa was before, so many years ago. Back when her feelings for Jaime had first begun to grow into what they were now. She could recall their dance lessons, when a compliment on how well they fit together would leave her blushing and stammering, just as Sansa Stark was now. "You needn't hide it from me, Lady Stark," she goes on, taking advantage of the young woman's silence. "I see how you look at him... And how he looks at you."
Sansa's heart was beating fast within her chest, so fast she can barely catch her breath. Was she and Jon truly so obvious? They had painstakingly tried to keep what was brimming between them beneath the surface... But had last night been their very downfall? "I-I do not know what you mean, your grace," she says, adopting a cheery but confused tone, cursing herself for being a terrible liar. From the way Cersei is smiling, Sansa knows she does not believe her, not even for a moment.
"You know, Lady Stark, if there is one thing in my life I regret... It is not ever being with the one I truly loved." Cersei speaks from total honesty, saying aloud the words she's never spoken before to anyone. Not even to Jaime. She knows what it will take to sway proud Ned's child into something such as diving head first into an incestual relationship. But she knows the way to sway the young woman, for it was the same way she swayed herself all those years ago. "Someday you will be married to a man who you likely do not love," they are both reminded of a similar conversation, one they had shared before her marriage to Joffrey was to take place. "You should experience true love, even just once in your life." These words resonate with her and Cersei knows it. Her blue eyes widen and she opens her mouth as if she means to speak, but cannot find the words. "We cannot help who we love," Cersei says, though now she wonders if she's still speaking to Sansa, but rather to herself. "But if any love was so truly wrong, why would the Gods allow us to feel it in the first place?"
Sansa's heart beat has not ceased in it's pace, but a slow realization is dawning upon her as she listens to Cersei's words. There is meaning behind them and she knows, those words are not meant only for her. She recalls the rumors spread just before her father was beheaded, rumors about the truth of Joffrey and his siblings parentage. The truth about Cersei and her brother, Jaime. There is a part of her that worries this is just a trap, a set up to catch her and Jon in the act, something that would earn them the scorn and disgust of all of King's Landing and likely the North.
And yet...
You should experience true love, even just once in your life... Those are the words she's replaying in her brain, over and over again, knowing that Cersei was right. It would not be long before a marriage was made for her, one that would likely be loveless and political, one that would do nothing for her but everything for the Lannister's. Without her father or mother or even Robb to protect her from such a fate, she would be doomed to marry a man of Cersei's choosing.
When she's dismissed a few minutes later, Sansa wastes no time.
Shae, who has waited for her outside Cersei's room for her, rises up from where she sits on the windowsill. "Find Jon for me, won't you?" She asks in an undertone, to which her lady stares back at her for a long moment before she nods. If there was anyone she could trust with what she was about to do, it would be Shae.
Once she's back within her own chamber, she brings herself to stand before the looking glass, staring at her own reflection. She knows that doing what she's about to do will change everything, but she knows she cannot go on in life without knowing what it will feel like to be held by a man that truly loves her. If she can only taste his love this one time, then she will go willingly into any marriage presented to her, for Jon's love she will carry with her for the rest of her life.
A knock on the door comes.
By the time she's turned around, the door has opened and it's Jon standing there. He's staring at her, taking her in as he always does, those Stark colored eyes enough to bring her to her knees. "Sansa," he greets, feeling just as she does, the shift in what lays between them. She crosses the room as he does and so they meet at the center, a minimal distance between them. The blue damask gown suits her in a way he cannot describe and he's, as always, struck by her beauty. Somewhere behind them, Shae quietly ducks into the antechamber, out of sight, out of mind- but there all the same.
There's so many things she wants to say, so many things she needs for him to hear. But the words do not come, no matter how hard she wills them to. And so, instead, she does the only other thing that makes any sense; she kisses him. She kisses him with as much passion as she can muster and he falls into it, his arms winding around her only so he might pull her closer. When he breaks free moments later, it's to stare into her eyes, to ask her one single thing. "Are you certain?" She nods.
That's all he needs.
This time, he's the one to kiss her, leaning in to capture her mouth with his. One hand remains perched at the small of her back, though the other one slides into her hair, uncaring of the pins he knocks loose. She's kissing him back, meeting his tongue with her own, the sensations rushing through her body unlike anything she's ever felt before.
It does not take long before they stand at the side of her bed, the canopy hangings pushed aside so Jon might sit upon the edge. He beckons her closer and she comes to stand between his knees, allowing him to turn her around so her back instead faces him. Then, she feels his hands as they begin to loosen the laces of her blue gown until it begins to slip over her shoulders. That is when she turns back around to face him and she allows the gown to fall to the floor at her feet, all so she might stand there in nothing but her chemise.
And then, Jon draws her down into the bed, and into his arms.

If Rhaegar won au aka King Rhaegar and Queen Lyanna
In an au where Rhaegar won the Battle Of The Trident and killed Robert Baratheon(reposting my old au after so long do to harassment)
Rhaegar gets the upper hand in the battle of the Trident and killed Robert Baratheon
Tywin would have chosen to back Rhaegar once hearing the news of Robert’s death. Instead of the sacking of King’s Landing, the Lannisters would have slaughtered the Rebel forces. He would have kept Ned, Jon, Hoster and Stannis alive cause Tywin saw the value of them to keep the peace and Rhaegar never wanted the war.
Stannis would not play along, he would have been sent to the wall. Renly would have became the lord of Storm’s End
Rhaegar would have sent the medical aid to Lyanna , Lyanna would have lived
Arthur Dayne, Elia Martell, Rhaenys and Aegon would have lived
Rhaegar and Tywin would have ousted Aerys the minute they entered the red keep. Aerys would act like the grateful father and the old friend praising his old friend Tywin. But Rhaegar forcibly removes his father from the crown and Tywin orders Gregor Clegane to deliver the crown’s swift justice. Jaime’s honor would not have been stained
Jaime would immediately tell Rhaegar and his father about the wildfire plot and that would have been dealt with in a heartbeat. Rhaegar praises Jaime’s heroism and tells him that he owes him a debt that he could never repay.
Rhaella wouldn’t have to be forced to flee to Dragonstone and would have lived to raise Daenerys and Viserys would not have lost everything and be force to become the beggar king, Viserys would have lived a stable and happy life. Daenerys would have a home, she wouldn’t have had an awful childhood, she would have her family and she would be happy.
Lyanna would have lived. I believe Rhaegar and Lyanna were in love. As soon as Lyanna recovered, I believe she would have told Ned that she did not want to be in a loveless marriage with Robert, and chose to go with Rhaegar of her own free will and tell she fell in love with Rhaegar. Ned would have understood and knew that she couldn’t have possibly foresee what would happen, so there would be peace between the Targaryens. and the Starks.
A proper wedding. Rhaegar and Lyanna would be married under the Weirwood Tree and Lyanna would wear a crown of Winter Roses and a gown and cloak befitting a Northern Queen
Queen Lyanna is loved by the commonfolk, it took the high lords and ladies sometime to love her, but eventually the Wolf Queen wins them over
Rhaegar and Lyanna would be together and raise Jon and Rhaegar will also take care of Aegon and Rhaenys
Jon Snow would be Jaehaerys Targaryen.
Elia would return to Dorne in this case, since she already gave heirs to Rhaegar and they don’t live together as a couple any longer. As Rhaegar and Elia’s marriage was a political move, not based on love, it seemed it was a platonic love, not a romantic one. it was a mutual agreement that Elia would remain in Dorne, as Rhaegar feared for her health and safety and Aegon and Rhaenys would visit Elia every now and then in Dorne. Elia and Rhaegar kept correspondence often and remained friends. Elia living a happy life is more important.
Lyanna and Elia would become fast friends. There is no resentment from Elia nor jealousy from Lyanna. Elia is happy that Lyanna was someone Rhaegar could truly find happiness and Lyanna was fond of Elia. They would correspond frequently and even bring her son to meet auntie Elia.
Jaime would remain in the Kingsguard and Cersei would remain a lady in the court who would be betrothed to Viserys when he comes of age
Petyr Baelish would have never attained the power he had in the books and would have just fucked off in Braavos.
Gerold Hightower, Barristan Selmy, Arthur Dayne, Oswell Whent and Loras Tyrell would be Rhaegar’s Kingsguard.
Rhaegar’s small council would consist of Tywin Lannister as Hand Of The King, Gerold Hightower as Lord Commander, Pycelle as Grand Maester, Doran Martell(of course Oberyn would go in Doran’s place) would be made as Master Of Laws in a way to mend relations with the Martells, Mace Tyrell as Master Of Coin, Paxter Redwyne as Master Of Ships, and Varys as Master Of Whispers.
With Rhaegar as king, there would be more effort into sending knights and soldiers to The Night’s Watch. Rhaegar knew The Others were coming so he would indeed take The Night’s Watch more seriously than his father or the crown ever did.
The Greyjoy Rebellion would still happen because Balon Greyjoy is a fucking moron. Balon believing Rhaegar was too soft to be king, rebels, and boy was he mistaken. The end result is the same. Balon’s sons are killed and Theon is taken as ward of the Starks.
Prior to the Greyjoy Rebellions, Rhaegar began to have dreams about the one eyed kraken blowing a horn to control dragons to burn the kingdom down. So Rhaegar took action and swiftly executed Euron Greyjoy in the Rebellion
Lyanna was a queen of action. She is there to lead the armies with her husband and king. Lyanna urged Ned to be more vigilant of The Boltons. And because of The Starks watching his every move, Roose Bolton dared not take FIrst Night with the Miller’s Wife, so Ramsay is never born.
There would be no War of the Five Kings. Tywin is hand of the king, Cersei is content with her marriage to Prince Viserys, Littlefinger never became as powerful as he is in canon. The realm is under the strong leadership of The Last Dragon.
Rhaegar would have taken several visits to Essos to find the dragon eggs. Eventually the dragon eggs are found and Rhaegar would attempt to hatch them. Even though he was deeply traumatized by the events of his birth, he’d still want to make the prophecy of his grand-grand-uncle become true. Only Rhaegar would be much more careful in his attempt to hatch dragons, unlike Aegon V, who managed to burn down almost all of his family and himself included. when the eggs are indeed hatched, the dragons would be given to his children, Rhaenys, Aegon and Jaehaerys. But there would be one more. This dragon would be given to Dany
Something within Rhaegar is called to the ruins of Valyria. In this expedition. Rhaegar finds a Valyrian Steel Sword. Rhaegar names his personal Valyrian Steel Sword The Song For Dawn
Betrothals. Aegon is betrothed to Margaery, Viserys is betrothed to Cersei, Robb is betrothed to Rhaenys and Jaehaerys is betrothed to Daenerys.
Aegon and Rhaenys would love Lyanna and treat her like their own mother and Lyanna views them as her own children
Aegon would be the heir to Dragonstone. The Crown Prince Aegon is loved by the high lords and ladies and the common folk
Princess Rhaenys inherited her musical skills from her father. She plays the high-harp and fills the halls of the Red Keep with her beautiful singing voice. Little Baelarion always dances to Rhaenys songs.
Summerhall would be rebuilt and Jahaerys would be lord of Summerhall.
Rhaegar’s children would get along with Ned’s children. Jaehaerys and Robb would be best friends. Rhaenys adores Sansa and Arya. Aegon loves his cousins.
It took some time, but Ned and Benjen forgave Rhaegar and Lyanna and grew to love them like family. The Targaryens and Starks have been close ever since
During one of Jaehaerys visits to Winterfell, Jon and his uncle Ned would spend time together and in that time, Jaehaerys would find a Direwolf. Jaehaerys would have Ghost in this au
Due to his prophecies, Rhaegar would see that all three of his children and his sister are needed to save the realm. They would be raised together and would be well prepared to defend the realm for the war of the dawn
With Rhaegar as king, the realm is safer, Lyanna lives, Elia lives, the Starks do not suffer any deaths and the realm is prepared to fight the War for the Dawn
