It's quite amusing that cultural differences change how a story is perceived.
#just saying...#what might need a big song and dance and neon sign to spell shit out in one country....#needs no big bravado and is completely normalised in another#and as it's set in my country i'm kinda glad it stayed true to our customs tbh#think what you want about us but we're not so highly strung about everything and more inclusive than you may think#anyways this is exactly why i didn't engage with fandom while watching - i enjoyed it for what it was#and being set in my hometown i felt a deep connection to it all#i'll get to carry that with me and thankfully didn't let fandom's misunderstanding or cultural differences ruin it for me
