Timeline: Bullying Allegations, Rumors, Investigations, and Leaks
Unless cited, all links from the Daily Mail. Apologies, but all links are "active" webpages. There's just too many. I specifically chose the DM because they always TL;DR their articles, which I'm including here so y'all don't have to go click these links.
This is going to be a little bit of a differently-formatted timeline.
These items in bold red are critical rota stories that sort of blew things open, if you will. These ones will have excerpts.
These items in bold purple are Tumblr gossip.
Let's jump in! One quick disclaimer first: This isn't an exhaustive list. this is only what I've been able to dig up today.
10/28/2018: The real Charles revealed: William’s wild mood swings, Harry’s pre-wedding meltdown and how the Prince of Wales finally earned his boys’ respect, as revealed by his biographer ROBERT JOBSON
The weeks leading up to the wedding had been far more tense for both Harry and Meghan than most people realised. In fact, they’d both felt so stressed that they’d booked a series of appointments with Ross Barr, known as ‘the acupuncturist to the stars’. Whether these treatments had much impact on Harry is debatable. In the build-up to the wedding, says an inside source, he was ‘petulant and short-tempered’ with members of staff. Raising his voice on occasion, Harry would insist: ‘What Meghan wants, she gets.’
11/8/2018: ‘Meghan cannot have whatever she wants’: The Queen had words’ with Harry over his ‘difficult’ bride-to-be’s choice of wedding tiara, royal insider claims
Meghan Markle reportedly wanted a tiara with emeralds for her wedding day
But stones may have been Russian so she had to choose another, it was claimed
Prince Harry allegedly 'hit the roof' when told the headpiece was off-limits
Queen 'had words' with Prince Harry about Meghan, a royal insider claims
Source said Her Majesty said: 'She gets what tiara she's given by me'
11/9/2018: MAJ RAPPED MEG The Queen warned Prince Harry over Meghan Markle’s ‘difficult’ behavior after row over bride’s tiara for royal wedding by Dan Wootton of The Sun
11/10/2018: CDAN Blind. This came out a couple of weeks after tumblr (the old TCD blog) got a massive dose of Aussie tea. Scroll down to August 2019 for those stories.
Apparently the diva behavior on a recent trip was nothing compared to the verbally abusive thrashing the employee took on that trip when things were not perfect. The employee threatened to sue because of how bad the abuse was which would have become public. The employee instead was given a check and an apology by the in-laws of the former actress turned abuser.
11/15/2018: Duke and Duchess of Cambridge join youngsters on The One Show sofa to speak about new anti-bullying app (with Kate in another recycled dress by Emilia Wickstead). This event was the day after Charles’s 70th birthday bash at BP, to which Meghan wore the blood earrings again and the gossip leaked that the Sussexes left early.
11/15/2018: Prince William accuses Facebook of putting ‘profits before values’ as he slams social media giants for being ‘on the back foot’ in fight against fake news, privacy and cyber bullying
11/17/2018: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle change plans to move into Kensington Palace apartment as resident Royal ‘doesn’t want to leave’ by The Sun. This was the first time that rumors of a rift between the Cambridges and the Sussexes over behavior/attitude were published by the printed press.
Kensington Palace isn’t short of luxury accommodation, with Prince William and Kate Middleton living in a lavish 20-room apartment in the grounds. And it is also the residence of The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke and Duchess of Kent and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. The Queen’s cousin, The Duke of Gloucester, 74, and his wife Birgitte, 72, live next door to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in their grand 21-room apartment. Prince Harry is said to have been eyeing up the property as the perfect place to raise a family. But a source claims Danish-born Brigitte is refusing to move. The Mail quoted a friend of Duchess of Gloucester saying: “Birgitte doesn’t want to leave. “And why should she? She and her husband are still full-time working members of The Firm and they were given their apartment by Her Majesty.”
Many blogs read the bolded section above as Harry and Meghan were pushing the Gloucesters hard to move out of KP #1. Not necessarily bullying them, but...not being nice about it either.
11/25/2018: MEGGING A MOVE Prince Harry told staff ‘What Meghan wants, Meghan gets’ as it’s claimed couple are moving away from Wills and Kate to flee ‘goldfish bowl’ Royal life by The Sun
11/26/2018: Is Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s rift causing tension between Harry and William and behind Windsor move?
11/28/2018: Meghan Markle ‘left Kate Middleton in tears’ over her strict demands for Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid’s dress by Jack Royston, The Sun.
This is one of the earliest "admissions" that Meghan sends the staff emails out of business hours.
Rumours of a rift between the duchesses swirled after royal sources revealed emotional Kate, 36, ended up weeping. An insider claimed the incident followed a “stressful” dress fitting — just weeks before Meghan, 37, married Prince Harry. Royal aides did not deny the incident had taken place, amid claims that the duchesses are “very different people”. Princess Charlotte, three, had been trying on her outfit just weeks before Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry. Meghan, 37, is understood to have insisted on “the very best” for her big day — but the fitting did not go according to her demands. Royal sources said the pressure of the “stressful” fitting became too much for her now sister-in-law, and that Duchess of Cambridge Kate was left shaken and in tears. An insider told the Daily Telegraph: “Kate had only just given birth to her third child, Prince Louis, and was feeling quite emotional.” The reported incident sparked rumours of a rift between Kate and the Duchess of Sussex. The duchesses are understood to have put the incident behind them.
and
Concerns have surfaced that American actress Meghan has at times struggled to fit into royal circles. Sources claimed she regularly “bombarded” staff with early morning calls and emails.
12/11/2018: How royal staff are calling Meghan Duchess Difficult as 2nd aide exits by The Daily Express. This is the first recording of "Duchess Difficult" in the printed press and the first hints that Harry may have confronted William about Meghan's red carpet welcome into the BRF.
The Duchess let slip recently that she's not sleeping well and has resorted to 4.30am yoga sessions to help her relax. However, her early starts, also said to involve firing off emails, aren't to everyone's taste and Meghan will soon have to find an aide more in tune with her lifestyle.
and
Kate was reported to have become upset by the manner in which Meghan speaks to staff and although this has been denied by Kensington Palace it has not stopped the chatter that all is not harmonious.
and
According to one insider, Harry, who is notoriously protective when it comes to his new wife and is desperate for her to enjoy her official duties, is said to be unimpressed with the welcome William has given Meghan. He feels his older brother could have done more, including ensuring that Kate took the American under her wing. Harry, 34, is said to be mindful of how isolated and miserable his mother, Diana, became. In a TV appearance in February, involving the so-called Fab Four of William, Harry, Kate and Meghan, there was an awkward moment when the group was asked about whether they had disagreements. “Oh yes," said William, while Harry tried to make light of the issue by joking that they came "thick and fast". But the insider says: "Harry won't take any criticism of Meghan and he is so sensitive that he often sees criticism or negativity when there isn't any."
12/18/2018: Meghan’s supposedly banned Harry from a traditional shoot, staff are leaving, and it’s claimed courtiers were aghast when this starry picture was (briefly) online. Now, RICHARD KAY asks…Duchess Difficult - or just defiantly different?

4/12/2019: The Meghan Markle ‘Duchess Difficult’ Rumors Just Won’t Stop - and This One is Bizarre by Glamour Magazine. I'm including this one because it cites a few Sun articles that are no longer accessible.
According to The Sun, staff members at Frogmore Cottage, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new home, have been "banned" from using the parking lot closest to the residence and instead must use the one a mile away. The sources who spoke to The Sun seem to confirm a change in parking permits is happening, but here's the kicker: It was reportedly the superintendent of the castle's decision, not Markle's. And yet all the tabloids reporting this story are making it seem as though Markle woke up and randomly decreed, "You know what would be fun? Forcing all the staff members to walk a mile to work each day." The headline in one article starts with "Not in Meg Back Yard," which is apparently the acronym insiders are using to describe this change. That makes it sound like Markle is the one behind the choice.

Some even believe they may have form of post-traumatic stress from experience
But I have personally witnessed more than one member of staff driven to tears by the treatment they were subjected to by the duke and duchess before the couple acrimoniously quit as working royals. One person sobbed down the phone to me after a particularly harrowing day. They clearly felt emotionally broken and could no longer cope with the pressure they were being subjected to. Others have indicated to me they were being asked to behave in a manner they did not feel professionally comfortable with, particularly in their dealings with the media. Several aides have also told me that Meghan in particular was very good at 'drawing' staff into her confidence, flattering them as if they were the only person in the world she could trust and asking them to help her with various duties.
and
Toxic, hostile, distrustful, poisonous: all words I have heard regularly used over the past few years to describe people's experiences working in the Sussexes' household.
and
But I have since been told that this popular aide was deeply unhappy about her experience working for the duchess and had been 'desperate' to get out as long as she could professionally put a brave face on it. Likewise a third member of staff. Mr Knauf makes clear in his email, as reported by The Times, that he was also concerned about the couple's hugely experienced deputy private secretary, Samantha Cohen. She had worked for the Queen for more than 20 years and was personally persuaded by the monarch to stay on and help the couple navigate their first few years of royal life. He indicated that she was experiencing extreme stress and said: 'I questioned if the Household policy on bullying and harassment applies to principals [the term used to refer to a member of the royal family].' One source tells me wryly, with an eye to Meghan's much-hyped championing of female empowerment: 'Note that everyone concerned was a woman.' Another adds: 'Sam always made clear that it was like working for a couple of teenagers. They were impossible and pushed her to the limit. She was miserable.'
and
The Times also makes reference to an incident during the couple's tour to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga in 2018, which was a particularly difficult one for all concerned, Meghan included. She was, of course, pregnant at the time. The newspaper reports how Meghan cut short a visit to a market in Fiji because she was concerned about the presence of a UN organisation promoting women, with which she had worked before and made clear she no longer wished to have anything to do with. At the time officials had suggested that it was because it was humid and the crowd was oppressive in the market. I was there at the time and witnessed Meghan turn and 'hiss' at a member of her entourage, clearly incandescent with rage about something, and demand to leave. I later saw that same – female – highly distressed member of staff sitting in an official car, with tears running down her face. Our eyes met and she lowered hers, humiliation etched on her features. At the time I was unable to document anything as I couldn't conclusively link the two incidents together, despite my suspicions. I have subsequently found out from other sources that my instincts were right.

8/15/2024: RICHARD EDEN: The real reason Harry and Meghan have just lost their 18th staff member…according to my source
My first inkling that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have trouble holding onto staff came back in 2018 when I received a tip that Meghan’s personal assistant, Melissa Toubati, had quit suddenly, just six months after the American actress had married into the Royal Family. ‘It’s a real shock,’ a source told me at the time. ‘Why would she want to leave such a prestigious job so soon?’ Officials usually decline to discuss staffing matters, so it took me aback when a senior Palace source chose to pay tribute to her publicly. ‘Melissa is a hugely talented person,’ the source said. ‘She played a pivotal role in the success of the royal wedding and will be missed by everyone in the Royal Household.’ For someone to go out of their way to pay such fulsome tribute suggested Melissa’s colleagues were not happy with her departure. The fact she left so soon raised questions over the reasons for her exit.
8/26/2024 - Kensington Palace insider brutal first reaction to Meghan Markle amid bullying claims, by The Mirror.

William was made aware of claims that Meghan Markle had 'bullied' palace members of staff, which both the Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry have always denied. After an unsuccessful phone call to discuss matters with his brother, William decided to 'throw Harry out', Robert Lacey revealed in his book, Battle of the Brothers. Lacey further quotes a Kensington Palace courtier as saying: "Meghan portrayed herself as the victim, but she was the bully. People felt run over by her. They thought she was a complete narcissist and sociopath — basically unhinged."

Although People Magazine is aligned with The Meghans, they could not ignore Catherine & Charlotte's mini me moment at the Coronation.
The Princess of Wales and her only daughter, Princess Charlotte, were featured in the number four (4) spot of 2023's Top 10 Style Moments.
What People Magazine should have printed: "Both the Princess of Wales and her daughter wore headpieces that featured three-dimensional leaf embroidery created by milliner Jess Collett for Alexander McQueen. Both made with silver bullion, crystals, and silver thread. A spectacle from every angle, the Coronation chignon, which mimicked the intricacy of her silver leaf headpiece, epitomised regal modernity." Quote from fashion Blogger
Even Omit's former employer, Harper's Bazaar dropped "Kate Middleton": "The princess' hair is styled in an elegant updo and she does not wear a tiara, as was previously expected; instead, she wears a Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen headpiece with silver bullion, crystal, and a silver threaded three-dimensional leaf embroidery. She wears the jewels with an Alexander McQueen dress in ivory silk crepe with silver bullion and embroidery featuring rose, thistle, daffodil, and shamrock motifs. Over it, she wears a blue formal robe, at the monarch's request."
No one in the US will purchase The Meghans covers. In order to sell their stories, The Prince & Princess of Wales are typically pictured alongside any Sussex reports. Unfortunately Omit's voice seems to be the silent (royal) contributor for many US reports.

What moves do you think are KCs key strategic moves?
Great grey rock strategy. That's the first one. It the best strategy for dealing with narcissists. His experience with Diana taught him that if you react they win, so he's not reacting.
Glad you asked. This same me writing a post about it. These are the strategies he has used so far:
Over the top glitz and glamour strategy. He's using the same pr strategy he used to improve Camilla's public image: lots of charity work and lots of official events with as much royal glitz and glam as possible. That's why we are getting so many diplomatic events and so many gowns and jewels. That's also why we are getting the biggest, glitziest coronation he can get away with. During the War of the Wales he did a disastrous interview where he tried to open up and be relatable and it backfired miserably. He's not doing that again. He's going to create psychological distance by draping the royals in as much glitz and glamour and tradition as possible. The Harkles can't compare with that.
Divide and conquer strategy. This is what the Lady Hussey meeting was about. During Camilla's pr drive she had a lot of little tea parties with reporters and stakeholders. Many of those reporters (*cough* Rebecca English *cough*) are still fans. It's a tried-and-true strategy (Diana in particular used it well) and it works. The ethnic charities and academics are all going to be heavily courted and they will eventually succumb. The ones that don't give in will be starved of money and attention.
United front. This was also part of the Camilla strategy. Will and Harry were roped into photo ops with Cam and stories were planted in the press saying they liked her and approved the marriage. Stories about how the Queen secretly approved but couldn't do so publicly because of her official role as head of the church also appeared. Everyone was signing from the same hymnbook, just like they are now. Not everyone wore burgundy though. That part is new. The addition of the Middletons and Cam's kids is also new.
Symbolic substitution. Charles knows from painful experience that it's about the role, not the person. The equerries, Sophie's UN work, Colonel Kate, etc... are all about keeping the role alive. Sadly, that's likely why Edward may not get the Duke of Edinburgh title. Because it was held by Philip, the role is symbolically superior to Charles and can't be transferred to his younger brother without implicitly undermining KC's position. The same was the case with the Princess of Wales title. It became symbolically opposed to the Prince of Wales title which is why Cam never used it, even after her popularity increased.
These are the ones he will use in the future:
Pomp and Circumstance. The coronation will be epic. Period. Will and Kate's wedding reinvigorated the institution for a decade and the coronation has to have a similar effect.
Biographies. The coronation will result in an avalanche of books and articles about KC. He will use them to create a new narrative. I'm not sure what that narrative will be because it will depend on what Harry says in his own book. My guess is he will piggyback on Harry's tale of trauma to recount his own childhood trauma and how, unlike his son, he overcame it to become a visionary ruler. Yes, he's going to go for "visionary." He's not humble and he kind of deserves the title because of all his environmental and charity work.
Public validation. This will be done in tandem with the biographies and the coronation, and Harry will unwittingly contribute. Harry's biography will claim that KC was a cold parent who was more concerned with his public role than his family. KC will spin that, with the help of foreign dignitaries, charity leaders, and commentators, into a narrative presenting KC as a devoted (and visionary!) statesman and charity leader. This is the same strategy he used after marrying Cam when we were inundated with stories about "how good she was for him."
Future focused. Harry is stuck in the past, but KC will present a dynamic monarchy focused on the future. That's what Kate's pantsuits, Sophie's fashion, Will's Earthshot project, and the young equerries are supposed to signal. This is the only strategy that I am skeptical about. It's hard to project youth and vigor when you are as old as KC is. However, he's a cunning fox and I'm sure he'll find a way. A vigorous reform platform with strategic changes may be enough. I'm very curious to see what he does about the Commonwealth. He needs to do something big to counteract the damage inflicted by Harry's documentary and he only has like three months to plan.

The King and I
Chapter Five: Royal Gathering at Balmoral
Featuring King Charles III and Prince Andrew, Duke of York
King Charles III and Queen Camilla have come to Balmoral Castle for their first summer holiday in Scotland since the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The estate has long been established as the private summer home of the Royal Family that includes grouse moors, forestry and farmland and is home to a large population of red deer. The king and queen will not be alone in his retreat; Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children will visit, as will King Charles's siblings Prince Edward and Princess Anne and their respective spouses. I also managed to get Charles's brother Prince Andrew, Fergie and his daughters to stay at Balmoral with the King and Queen, creating an environment that could potentially foster familial healing.
That day began with Charles inspecting troops from Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland. He wore a kilt and a traditional Scottish outfit to inspect the Balaklava Company. My eyes were on the back of his strong hairy legs as I followed him throughout the entire visit. Locking on to one of His Majesty's best features always made me horny and I wanted to take him to the nearest room and start him up, but this time the waiter interrupted and asked what we would like.
Back at Balmoral Castle, I notice Andrew and his daughters had arrived as I watched with a little more than curiosity. Charles was speaking with one of the servants as I admired Andrew. Just then, the 63-year-old prince turned and saw me starring. He winked and smiled a warm friendly, knowing smile. I pretended not to notice. If I wasn't with His Majesty, I would have made a move on him. Once again he looked in my direction and winked. I was thinking what a cute little flirt he was.
Once in the sitting room and the servant excused himself, I again returned my gaze to Charles. Having him in our own private room started my dirty mind up again. I stood opposite His Majesty glancing at the gorgeous king seated across from me. While this was going on he was talking about his meeting and the time he spent with his son. I could barely keep my mind on our conversation, as I was busy trying to sneak a peak at his inviting crotch.
By now I was hard and becoming uncomfortable trying to hide it. Something had to happen, I was either going to leave and find Andrew or bust out of my pants and fuck Charless brains out. Choosing the latter, I stepped closer to him and reached down, unzipping the fly of my pants. Then without a word, I exposed my throbbing 7" cut prick.
Just then, Charles looked at me with a raised eyebrow and asked me sternly. “I sense that you want to added to my work load. Am I correct in my assumption?”
I could tell from the look on his face, he was obviously going to suck me. Then, just as my dick was an inch or so from his mouth, His Majesty slid his tongue up the underside of my shaft and wrapped it around the head, sucking vigorously. Fuck! For a 73-yr. British royal with few male experiences, he sure could suck! He swallowed more and more of my cock, deeper into his hungry mouth. I was finding it hard to hold back as his hand grabbed my nuts in his swollen hand, squeezing them tight while his head bobbed up and down my cock. I began fucking his face furiously, I was going wild…
Charles seemed encouraged by me fucking his mouth, not the he needed encouraging, but he enjoyed it as his own dick sprang to attention underneath his kilt. Lifting it up, his throbbing cock was bouncing up and down and needed to be held. Suddenly he was sucking me and jacking himself off wildly.
"That's it Your Majesty. Suck me. Suck my cock." I said as I pumped my cock down Charles' throat.
The end came far too soon as Charles' skills coaxed my orgasm despite ny best efforts to delay it. I squirmed to let him know I was about to cum and he just shoved his head down farther on me as I began to erupt in his throat. He sucked every drop out of me and when we finished he leaned back, closing his eyes to finish himself off.
"Let me Your Majesty…" I said as I stop him from jerking off.
I knelt in front of him and began to put my mouth over his engorged tool as he moaned his approval. I know he didn't get many blowjobs, if any, from Camilla and my love of his perfect body was about to make him burst. I wanted him to cum with a roar. I pushed his legs farther apart and ran my hand through the hair on his creamy white thighs as sucked his royal cock. I cupped my tongue around the shaft of his cock in my mouth and began to move my head up and down the whole length of his throbbing missile. I could feel the head against the roof of my mouth as I continued to lick and suck and caress the pulsing shaft.
The wonderful aroma of his crotch and the beautiful silver pubic hair was really turning me on.
He was about to cum and he pulled my head off of him. Looking into my eyes, he wanted to see see if this is what I really wanted. No words were spoken as I went back down on him. He through his head back and enjoyed the sensation of me sucking him into oblivion. Arching his back, Charles almost roared and groaned as he fired off his beautiful canon. His cum shot deep down my throat as I tried to drain every drop from him. I savored the taste of him as I pulled off and looked up at him.
"Wonderful. Just wondeful…" was all he could say.
Minutes later, after satisfying Charles, I left his seating room to make my exit. Suddenly, someone grabbed me from behind and pulled into a nearby room. Realizing it was Andrew as he planted a kiss before spinning me around against the nearby wall.
"I've missed fucking your ass." He whispered as I suddenly felt his hand around my waist and his fingers fumbled with my belt. He unbuckled it and unzipped my slacks.
Then next thing I knew, he was pulling my jeans and shorts down until my ass was completely exposed. I wanted Andrew to fuck me. I wanted to feel his pussy-poking dick inside of me as I heard him spit in his hand to wet his cock. A moment later I moaned as I felt his slippery dick head pressing against my asshole. Then he grabbed my hips and shoved his dick inside me. I stiffened up from the searing pain of his brutal entry before he pulled his dick half way out of me and slammed it back inside my asshole.
I gasped for air, knowing I couldn't make any noise as the prince started fucking me hard and fast, pinning me to the wall with each thrust. Andrew pumped his royal rod into me over and over again as I moaned and grunted like a whore getting fucked. Damn this was good!
“You like it? You like my cock up your ass?” Andrew asked as he pumped his dick in and out of me harder and faster.
"Yes, fuck me. Make me yours Your Highness." I answered as I could feel his hot breath on the back of my neck.
I desperately wanted to turn my head and kiss him, reaching back and grabbing his head, pulling it towards my lips. I wondered if he could smell his brother's cum on my breath. I slid my tongue inside his mouth and our two tongues intertwined, I was lost in the passion of the kiss, wondering if he could taste his brother's cum. Wheither he did or not, Andrew started fucking me brutally, raping my hole as he clung to me. And like Charles earlier, Andrew shot off quickly. Too quickly for me as I was just getting excited and starting to enjoy it. “Get ready for it!”
Andrew’s warning was followed by him grabbing me by the shoulders and slammed his dick as deep inside of me as it would go followed by a load of cum. My ass made a sucking sound as his royal cum filled it to the rim. When his dick finally slipped out, the prince turned me around and kissed me passionately. Andrew quickly zipped up, then silently exited the room.
I could hardly walk, my asshole was throbbing painfully as I did a quick check up and down the corridor before heading out. Just as I was about to leave, Prince Edward and wife arrived. As they were entering, Edward saw me and me and paused. I wondered if he was reading my thoughts as he smiled, catching me again with those beautiful blue eyes. I wanted to grab him and stick my tongue down his throat.
"Steady, boy," I thought to myself as I left, "Two brothers in one day is enough."

Hey, mole person again…Well the thing is I also had emergency c-section so was not bleeding as much afterwards. I also come from a country where going out of the hospital with baby is a mini celebration with fam being there taking pictures , bringing flowers etc. so lots of girls put effort into looking good for the “occasion”. So it’s possible if she knew she would be papped, she would try to look as good as possible (i mean i was always amazed at how put together princess kate was after her births, high heels and make up and all). So that’s why i thought “could be she just pushed herself to look good cause, famous now”. But the rest as i said still holds up. And you’re right she can’t always be the exception. Anyway thanks for indulging me and have great holidays!
I too had a c-section so there wasn't a lot of bleeding for me! I was only in the "diapers" for maybe 48 hours and even then the concern was my stitches more than anything. However I sure as hell had zero desire to wear anything skin tight, or jeans, etc. Hell I COULDN'T because even with breastfeeding your uterus doesn't contract THAT MUCH in such a short span of time. And breastfeeding sure does help a lot.
And I'm glad you mentioned Kate Middleton because this...
Is what she wore. Yes there's makeup. Yes there are high heels. But you notice the dresses? They are incredibly flattering to hide the post partum bump but you can still see there is in fact a bump! (And yes I know Kate Middleton's style isn't comparable to Briana's but again this is about the COMFORT that comes post partum)
Different angles! To show off the bump under the pretty dresses!
Meanwhile Briana is strutting in those ankle boot heels. Briana is in tight clothing. She's in a mini skirt! And this is again after a - confirmed by her! - vaginal birth.
IDK I just feel like there's a line between realistic post partum comfort and the performative "omg this is my shot at being famous!" pap shots that we got from her. Even if her culture - which as someone White AmericanTM I can say the looking amazing post partum really isn't our culture or tradition lol - wants her to look amazing this just... ain't it.
But again. Maybe she is the exception! In the long long lists of exceptions we continue to be fed about her.
#answered#I still can't buy it#also this is completely ignoring the fact that BRIANA ISN'T FAMOUS AND PAPS HAVE TO BE CALLED#PAPS AREN'T WAITING AROUND FOR HER#SHE COULD HAVE EASILY DUCKED ALL OF THIS#BUT SHE NEEDED TO BE PARADED AROUND TO PROVE THERE WAS A BIRTH#PAPS ARE CALLED WHEN YOU NEED TO SELL SOMETHING#AND IN THIS CASE WE WERE BEING SOLD THAT THIS WOMAN HAD JUST GIVEN BIRTH#(oh and the history MV which came out at the end of January)

Princess Charlotte of Wales (daughter of George IV and Caroline of Brunswick, not Prince William and Kate Middleton) married Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, future King of the Belgians and uncle to Queen Victoria, in London on 2 May 1816. As the heiress presumptive to the throne and the woman who should have been Queen, if not for her untimely death the following year, her wedding was the social event of the decade and she needed a dress fit for a Princess in order to match the occasion. She had one.
In this royal fashion history documentary from History Calling we look at one of the earliest surviving royal wedding dresses in British history which was recently on display in the Queen’s Gallery in Buckingham Palace. Despite the increasing popularity of white wedding dresses at the time of her nuptials, Charlotte wore silver silk and satin overlaid with lace and embellished with shell motifs. We’ll trace her dress’s journey from its creation by the Princess’s dressmaker, Mrs Triud of Bolton Street, to the day Charlotte wore it, to what happened to it after her death and how it came to be in its present home. By comparing photographs of the dress as seen today to historical descriptions and a picture of it from 1816, we’ll see how well the current gown matches early 19th century fashions, examine how much of the original garment is left and ask whether this unique piece of dress history can really be called the wedding dress of Princess Charlotte.

So, ladies, theybies, and gentlemen, this whole "Royal A is copying Royal X" nonsense has finally got on my last nerve. There are quite literally only so many clothes out there. Sometimes, royals are going to look a bit similar.
There are examples of royals clearly paying homage to other royals:
Diana wore a red dress with a white collar after giving birth to her second son. Kate wore a red dress with a white collar after giving birth to her second son. This is intentional.
Or examples of royals deliberately choosing clothes based on what other royals are wearing:
The BRF all wearing pastels and neutrals but the Queen wearing lime green to stand out? This is intentional.
The BRF and Middleton family wearing burgundy and ivory for the Together at Christmas carol concert after certain comments were made? This is intentional.
And even plenty of examples of royals being inspired by other royals:
(This is not actually an example of a specific outfit but a vibe). Has Kate worn more trousers and suits after Meghan arrived? Evidently, yes. Is it copying? No. It's being inspired. It's the same reason replikaters exist. Or why fashion trickles down from the runways to fast fashion companies. People see something they like and want to wear their own version of it. This is, in its own way, intentional.
HOWEVER I will stake my frankly non-existent reputation on the fact that Catherine and Meghan - two very different women whom, as far as we know, are in no contact with each other - are not sat at home planning their outfits to copy each other. Kate wore her hair loose with a centre parting and waves after Meghan did? They both have long curly hair. Get over it. Meghan wore a nice coat that looks like one Kate has? I have a coat that looks like one Kate has. It was from Sainsburys. Get over it.
If I have to read one more tweet, instagram post, story, whatever, saying Royal A has copied Royal X on this important day and it's really unfair and mean because clearly royals copyright their outfits and only they are ever allowed to wear them ever again, I am going to commit some sort of federal crime. And we don't even have those in the UK.
#personal#blog stuff#this post has been sat in my head for days and honestly typing it out was very therapeutic#but I am now going to hide from the response because this is definitely going to end up on blogs I don't want it to#also this isn't brf only I just know more about them

Two things can be true at once- Kate wore a Diana outfit (which I don’t have a problem with) and Camilla’s nephew (who happens to be the Tory party chairman and connected but not charged to the cash for access scandal)was in one of the carriages at Ascot. Highly doubt titles are coming for Camilla’s family now.
What is funny to me is that everyone is freaking out over her outfits but I guess everyone has totally missed that 80's and 90's fashion has made a comeback. So there are bound to be certain looks that can be described as copying Diana. I still wish I had all of my long blazers I had in HS for debate.
Now this is what I have an issue with, Camilla's sister and nephew are in the second carriage which conveys that they are high up in the hierarchy. Right? Princess Anne was made to share a carriage with Camilla's sister, nephew and niece-in-law. I can only imagine if the William was King and the Middleton's were in the second carriage. Oh the outrage.

A heads up about my upcoming fabulousness by u/Royal-Carob
A heads up about my upcoming fabulousness I‘m just a humble country girl but I’ve caught the eye of the biggest brands and job offers are going to be pouring in, you’re looking at the next face of Dior, Bugatti, VS, that ridiculously priced handbag company I can’t remember the name of, Lowes, and so many more. And if it doesn’t happen it’s because of my b*tchass relatives.this in reference to this gem I read about today”The UK’s Express newspaper quotes one insider telling them that, despite the success of the sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, the huge figures for their at-home Netflix documentary series in December 2022 and the record-breaking sales of Harry’s memoir Spare earlier this year, “There have been talks held with high profile brands that didn’t lead to anything but should have done. Those brands then actively courted other members of the family.”The insider adds: “Both Harry and Meghan often wore Dior and were at one point huge fans of the brand,” the source said. “Harry wore a [Dior] suit to the Coronation and the Sussexes were starting to build up their partnership with the fashion house.“Then the focus shifted towards Camilla and other members of the family. To add salt to the wounds, the actress playing Kate Middleton [in The Crown‘s final series on Netflix] was announced as the new face of the brand. It was all very suspicious timing.”Markle has been with WME since April 2023, but no new projects have materialized thus far. Instead, the couple’s $20m contract with Spotify has been ended, with exec Bill Simmons quoted calling them “grifters,” and Markle’s pet doc project Pearl has been cancelled by Netflix. The Express’s source added: “The team doesn’t appear to know what to do at this point. The consensus now is to try and repair the damage done to the Royal Family and hope that link will help them out of the doldrums.” post link: https://ift.tt/wAbFNZS author: Royal-Carob submitted: December 18, 2023 at 02:59AM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit

RTA, speaking of pro-Sussex KK and fam, there’s something fishy imo about the Delaware-incorporated name of MM’s new ARO venture: Mama Knows Best. Whose “Mama” are we talking about, anyway? Mama Doria? Mummy Diana? Mama Momager Kris Jenner? Mama Megs herself? All of the above? There are just too many suspicious PR crossovers between the Sussexes and the Kardashians lately. Doria, Kris, Kim hanging out a few months ago and getting photo-opped together. MM appearing Kardashian-adjacent at Beyonce’s concerts. Harry going skiing with Kris’ SO. Harry allegedly zooming his Diana Awards appearance from a ski chalet on said ski trip. Kim snarking that she’s “Off to find Kate.” The rumors of the Sussexes guest appearing on the Kardashians’ new (struggling) show. Is it possible, do you think, that Mama/Momager Kris is Meghan’s (and maybe H’s as well) new business manager and/or business advisor?
**********
The Kardashians have been trying to get in with the royal family for awhile. Back in 2011 - 2014ish, Kim kept trying to make friends with Kate. Everything from creating and posting ‘Happy birthday Kate’ video messages on social media, giving interviews about how much she loves Kate’s style, naming products after Kate, sending Kate gifts (which KP always returned unopened), matchmaking Prince George and North West together (here’s an example), and paying for a lot of PR on the one time Kate wore the same dress Kim did in 2012 and again in 2015 when Kate rewore it.
As far as we know, Kate never reciprocated or acknowledged Kim Kardashian’s efforts. And for all intent and purpose, Kim gave up on trying to make fetch happen with the royal family. But then Meghan came around, who’s much more Kardashian-like than Middleton-like or Windsor-like that made Kim’s royal aspirations more of a reality.
One of the things I’ve noticed about the Kardashians - Kim more particularly than the rest of them - is that they’re always looking for the next thing that will further legitimize their fame and further solidify their status as “real” A-listers instead of grifters that know how to hustle (remember, the family is only famous because they monetized Kim’s sex tape). Up until Kim married Kanye, no one really took them seriously; they were reality TV stars and WAGs. And there’s nothing wrong with that. But they’ve always wanted more and they’ve always used other people to climb up the fame ladder, legitimize their fame, and develop business opportunities.
Which is what Meghan (and Harry) are. They’re a business opportunity for the Kardashians, who’ve been slowly pivoting to more “behind the scenes” producer-type work than “on-camera” talent. They probably see Meghan as an opportunity to do more directing/producing/developing but the joke will probably be on them - they’re too business-savvy (individually and collectively) for Meghan. Meghan thinks she’s business-savvy like they are but she doesn’t come anywhere close. The primary difference between the Kardashians and Meghan is that they have follow-through, and she does not.
I don’t see the partnership lasting very long. Kris only works with people she knows and people who’ll listen to her/do what she wants. The way I see it, the Sussexes have been lovebombing the Kardashians to become family friends so that Kris will work with them. But that still leaves the “listen to/do what other people say” problem, which is probably going to be Meghan’s downfall. She thinks she’s the expert in everything, which will 100% cause problems with Kris.
And then there’s the WME of it. The Kardashians are WME clients (just like Meghan...hey, how about that?!). WME helped Kim get a role in the American Horror Story franchise. The Kardashians could also be friendly with the Sussexes because WME is making it worth their while.

As I'd hoped it has been a very red, white and blue year for the PoW. There were some pinks and oranges in January's but those eventually disappeared and except for the occasional green ensemble and some neutrals, she has stuck to the coronation theme. That's fantastic!
I've really enjoyed the coronation prep, even if it hasn't been as glam as I had hoped for. The words that come to mind are "professional," "stature," excellence. It has been a very "20th century British diplomatic service" kind of affair, efficient, subdued and targeted. From the train ride to London to drinking pints in Soho to the royal receptions...everything is thoroughly professional, down to the color scheme. It's Executive Royalty.
That's a bit disappointing because I love the royal glam, but KCIII is definitely setting the tone for his reign. It's not the tone I expected because I've always thought KCIII loved glam. I think he still does, but it's not what he wants his reign to represent. Apparently, we won't even get tiaras?
That's a statement. I don't necessarily hate it. He is definitely setting the theme-nature, diversity, service, etc... very successfully too.
I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. Hope everyone enjoys the party!

I hate to add onto this Kate Middleton discourse, but as someone who is in medical, it is quite curious. Because they said she had abdominal surgery to "correct something" and wants it to remain private (as it should), and not only that, but she had to be in the hospital for 10-14 days. That tells me, usually, it's about two things: it's either crohns or correcting weight loss surgery. Kate is a skinny tall woman. Almost too skinny for her height. I think they said she's like 5'10" or 5"11". But everyone's body is different. So you really can't always say "well they are this height, so their BMI should be this." Right?
However, Kate use to have a lot more meat on her. Even when they had their engagement announcement and she wore that iconic blue dress. As it got closer to her wedding, she get skinnier and skinnier. And she remained like that. When she was pregnant, she looked healthier. After pregnancies, some will lose weight and some won't snap back right away. Sometimes it takes a full year for your body to recover after pregnancy. Some people do lose a LOT of weight, especially if they are breast feeding. Breast feeding burns a lot of calories. This girl got sickly skinny. Especially after she had Prince Louis, her last baby. She will wear these long fancy gowns and you can just see the bones sticking out of her chest sometimes and her hips. Mermaid gowns are usually more flattering on taller women. We all know the stories about Diana. We know that a lot of the royals like to be well kept. They are in the public eye and critic all the time. Diana ate like a bird sadly even after she got over making her self sick. We also know too that Kate, while she was dating William, was just ripped apart by the media.
I highly suspect that:
1. Kate got a gastric sleeve that went haywire and she got it corrected. A lot of the times those don't hold, because the sleeve will get air pockets which will cause the person to get sick a lot. You can correct it, but there is a good chance that it's going to do it again. Thus having it removed is the best option.
2. Kate had gastric surgery and again, there are complications. A lot of people, especially smaller people who don't need the surgery, will constantly get sick. It's a very painful operation because they are re-routing your intestines etc etc. They have to limit what they eat. They have to cut out a lot of foods. There are people that get so sick and frail. With this surgery, it's not as easy to correct like the sleeve. There is a chance your body will NEVER go back to normal and you may have 10-20 years to live depending on the severity of it.
3. Kate may have crohns disease. Which is understandable if she wants to keep it private. Because a lot of people think it's always caused by starving yourself. But it is a very heraditory disease. And being in the public eye and the way that newspapers love to run with lies... Yeah, I don't blame her if this is the case. Especially since again, she's tall and very skinny for her height.
Deadass who cares what this woman doing or why she’s missing.
Bottom of my heart I do not care about to royals
( no offense to you anon )

What a Sweet Story🥰
"The company was set up by designer Alice Avenel, an old schoolfriend of Kate's, but she has now sold it. Speaking to The Mail on Sunday about the sweater, the mother-of-three said: 'I gave it to her years ago. It was a hand-me-down. I sold the company in March."
Clothing company brings back jumper after Prince Louis wore it
The daughter of an ex-Army officer, Alice, 41, has been a close friend of both the Prince and Princess of Wales since childhood. She was a teenage friend of William and a peripheral member of the 'Glossy Posse', who would hang out at Highgrove.
She was at exclusive Marlborough College with the Middleton sisters, playing tennis with Kate and hockey with Pippa. The Prince and Princess of Wales went to her 2012 wedding to French banker Gerald Avenel.
Alice, who has three children, Rose, 11, Constantine, nine, and Edward, seven, founded Little Alice in 2018, after the births of her children when she discovered a 'passion for smocking'. She also sold that company last month.
Explaining why she set up the firm, she said: 'My clever mother kept all of my beautiful smocked dresses from when I was a child, but I found it very hard to find affordable dresses in the shops.
Then the Princess of Wales released a photograph of her youngest son Prince Louis to mark his fifth birthday last weekend, shoppers rushed to find the same sweater he was wearing.
But there was only one problem: the £75 Fair Isle design was a hand-me-down Kate was given years ago, and had since been discontinued. So now, after being inundated with requests, the company which makes it has brought back the retired design.
Lallie London had, until Friday, been accepting advance orders for the smoky blue jumper, even though it won't be available again until September.
It is not the first time the Wales children have worn one of Alice's designs. Five years ago, Princess Charlotte, then two, almost stole the show as she and Prince George, four, arrived at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, to meet their baby brother. The £45 Periwinkle smocked dress she wore came from Ms Avenel's other label, Little Alice London, and immediately sold out online.

Has the social significance of lip gloss dialed down since the 90's?
I was looking through some op-eds to do my rhetorical analysis on for my rhetoric class, when I stumbled upon Jessica Bennett's “Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton and…Lip Gloss?” published on The New York Times. The op-ed started out with Jessica Bennett explaining how she even thought of talking about the Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton fiasco.
To give a little recap to those who do not know what went down in 2018, Meghan Markle during a royal event forgot to bring her lip gloss and asked her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, if she could borrow some of her lip gloss. Kate Middleton apparently made a face and hesitated to allow Meghan to borrow her lip gloss. According to Prince Harry, Kate reacted this way because sharing your lip gloss is an "American thing."
So what exactly is so American about sharing our lip gloss? In Jessica Bennett's op-ed, she touches on how her experiences growing up in the 90's helps her give insight on why Meghan Markle (someone who was born and raised in California) would ask to use Kate's lip gloss.
In Bennett's op-ed, she goes into detail about her lip gloss experience in the 90's and how lip gloss effected her social life along with other girls from that time. She goes on to say "I used vanilla lip gloss that was in a big tub, and I genuinely think it raised my social status,” one 40-something friend told me." The rest of the article goes onto heavy detail about different lip gloss flavors and stories of how lip gloss was shared in the 90's in order to rank yourself and your friends in your own social hierarchy which was mentioned in the article, "Lip gloss was more than makeup; it was a tool for discerning your place in the social hierarchy. Girls you’d share your lip gloss with: those were your ride-or-dies. " By the end of the article Bennett, although justifying Meghan asking for the lip gloss due to their shared social norm of sharing lip gloss, tries to justify the hesitation of Kate when asked to share something like lip gloss when she adds "We’re all adults now and perhaps have more respect for hygiene than we once did..."
My question is if in present American culture, sharing lip gloss is a taboo? Something left in the 90's for millennials to reminisce? I decided to take on the same approach as Bennett's in her op-ed in order to give millennials an inside scoop of how lip gloss is used in present times.
I graduated high school a year ago, therefore a lot of my lip gloss wearing and sharing days is far from over. I wasn't one of those girls who loved to wear makeup to school, in fact it wasn't until recently that I started to actively try and go buy myself some makeup. The sticky and thick consistency that many lip glosses have really bothered me, and I HATED pulling the little strands of hair that would get trapped in a layer of gloss on my lips at random moments through the day. Regardless of whether I wore it often or not, I was always surrounded by friends who kept a little tube of lip gloss in their pencil pouch in case they or any of their friends wanted to enhance their lips throughout the day. Lip gloss although popularized in the 90's by millennials, never really stopped being a sign of platonic intimacy for many gen-z kids. Even when I was growing up, my mom would buy my sister and I the roll on lip smackers and kid makeup sets to share. I even have a picture of my sister and I doing my mom's makeup with one of these kits. Sharing make-up seems to be something a lot of gen-z kids grew up seeing, especially those with older siblings. In present times, as a 19 year old I still share my lip products (lip liners, lipsticks, and lip glosses) with my friends and family members whenever they need to. In fact, my mom uses my lip glosses without telling me first, because there is certain amount of trust that and connection when sharing your makeup with someone. Lip gloss, is still one of the most used and beloved makeup products to date, and I don't see the effects that it has had in many teens' social hierarchies changing any time soon. While I give the 80's and 90's teens their credit for making lip gloss popular, us gen-z kids carry on the importance of lip gloss with us throughout our high school lives.
