There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. One must grasp it before the tunnel caves in.
January 6 20XX
You have to give Katsuki credit, because the dude was dedicated. Not only that, but he could do things that you found difficult with ease. Such as, well, talking to someone.
"Aizawa-sensei says that the foolscap was outdated from 10 years ago. Apparently, it was the same ones he used when he was in U.A. It spanned a good ten years, so at the very least, they haven't walked off the fuckin' earth and died yet." The ash blond announces, flopping on the ground next to you. It was the first day officially back from winter break, but Katsuki was as unfazed as ever.
Back when people were still being potty-trained, Katsuki was practising hours a day on the piano in between kindergarten and card trading with the guys. That's what made him the best, and half of you was glad to see that part of him was still the same.
Focus, you tell yourself. Now isn't the time to get distracted!
"They could be anywhere in the country. With my luck, anywhere in the world." You counter. "Or maybe the one with my condition has poofed out of existence—"
"Stop it with that," Katsuki knocks his knuckles against your forehead, making you reel back at the contact. "People stop writing for all sorts of reasons. They could have cracked the code, or had a fallout, who knows? Shut up and be optimistic. I can't afford you spiralling."
You make a face at him. "You've changed."
"I'd be an asshole if I didn't." He replies, not missing a beat.
You're still an asshole, you want to point out, but you hold your tongue. He's trying to help you, after all.
"Any idea of what course they were in?" You ask instead. "It'd be easier if it was a hero, high profile is good."
"There's a phone number on the paper—"
"That has been changed and is unavailable." You finish. "It's a dead end."
Katsuki huffs, folding his arms. "It's a lead."
You snort loudly, holding back your laughter. "You've changed a lot—"
"And you're an idiot." He refutes. "You can track a phone even after its number is changed. I can get a hold of the IMEI number—"
"What are the chances of someone keeping a phone for over a decade?" You scoff.
"What other chances do we have of finding these pieces of shit?" Katsuki counters.
Biting the inside of your cheek harshly, you sigh. He has a point.
—
February 20XX
The plan, unfortunately, did not work. Either someone had used the phone beyond repair, or it had already been destroyed.
Brilliant.
Katsuki lets out a growl of frustration. It took him a month to find out how to track this guy. A month. And yet you were no closer to finding these grown-ass men.
It was around that time that you started to bring newspapers of that time to the hall, scourging for any clues relating to that incident.
"If only we just knew what course this guy was in..." You mutter, consuming yourself with the papers.
Katsuki stands by the curtains with an unamused expression, hands full of yearbooks as he watches your eyes scan the papers with an immense amount of focus. He's come to know you for months at this point, and has started taking note of little things about you because the more he looks at you, the more he finds.
Like how you bite your lip whenever you're nervous, bite the inside of your cheek when you're irritated and tuck your hair behind your shoulder when you lie.
Like how terrible your piano playing is but you still continue, like how even though what you've been through is more mentally taxing than anything on the battlefield, you still—
It takes Katsuki a second that he's been staring at you for way longer than normal before he unceremoniously drops all the yearbooks on the ground with a loud thud.
You jump like a startled cat, glaring daggers at him as you scramble to get your newspapers away from him. "What the fuck, Bakugou."
His mouth coils into a pleased smirk. "Jokes on you, I'm going deaf. What was that?"
You groan, and it makes Katsuki's confidence ignite. There we go. This version of you, he can handle.
"What's the yearbooks for?" You ask instead, nearing the dusty stacks of bounded paper before flipping through them.
"I managed to round up the yearbooks from the people who still used this piece of foolscap when they were in school." Bakugou plops down on the ground with you. "It's just ten years. If we can go through every class and see if anyone has photo fucked with—"
"Photo fuck?"
"Has the same photo issues as you."
You raise an eyebrow. "Not one of your best works, Nickname Wonder."
"Whatever. Find someone with consistent photo issues throughout their time in U.A and we might be able to narrow it down."
"..."
"..."
"Seriously, photo fuck—"
"Shut it."
—
"Hey man, where are you going?" Eijiro bounds up to him like he'd shitted rainbows, and as much as he appreciates the ball of sunshine cramped into every cell in his friend, he did not want to deal with him now.
Still, he replied. "Training."
"Sick! I was just thinking of—"
"Not today." Katsuki picks up his duffle, checking the clock. "Meeting the nerd at Ground Beta. All Might wants to try something. Gotta run—"
"You've been real busy lately." Eijiro cuts off, blocking his path. "Look, me and the squad don't want to push, but...don't overwork yourself, okay?"
Katsuki almost snorts. Yeah right. Overworking himself was Izuku's job, not his. A tight schedule didn't mean a messy schedule. He'd planned enough time for sleep, eating, internship, training and hunting down people who may or may not exist.
He was being productive, not stressed.
" 'm not overworking myself," Katsuki mutters, sidestepping his red-haired friend as he walks out of the common rooms.
"Well, I'm here if you wanna talk things out!" Eijiro calls.
Katsuki gives a grunt as a response as he pushes the door open.
It's not like Eijiro would remember anyway.
—
The list of possible victims is done by the end of the week, and Katsuki takes the liberty to go for a slow walk around the school to hunt down his teachers and interrogate them. He'd like to say that he's made a good amount of progress, but Katsuki doesn't lie.
The entire procedure is pretty much a coin flip. He can confidently eliminate one or two, but can't ever be sure for the remaining. Were they just forgotten with time? Did they drop out? What if they went undercover?
A handful were even in the General Course, and getting in touch with those alumni was even more difficult.
"Look," Aizawa stares at him tiredly. He looks like he's on his 5th cup of coffee and that his eyebags can carry weights of lead. "I see you from Monday to Friday non-stop. I wish to be alone on a Saturday morning so I can mark your papers and get them back to you on Monday next week. So for God's sake, get out of my face."
"I'm trying to save someone." Katsuki prevents the door from closing with his foot, staring up at his teacher with raised eyebrows. "And from what I heard, heroes don't get breaks. Let me in, Sensei."
Aizawa squints at Katsuki. He may have lost his leg, and pretty much his quirk, but Katsuki's still sure that Aizawa kicks ass. All Aizawa had to do was say the word, and he'd get booted out.
Wouldn't be the first time.
Even so, his teacher lets him into his lair of unwashed coffee cups and Post-it notes wonderland. Katsuki doesn't bat an eye.
"Doesn't ring a bell." Aizawa shrugs, crossing names off.
"Nothing? Cause this guy was in your class." Katsuki yanks out a yearbook and slams it on the table, flipping to the bookmarked page.
On it, is a class photo of 17-year-old Aizawa surrounded by his classmates all those years ago.
"It's been a decade and a war," His teacher snaps. "Give me a break."
As his teacher's eyes survey the picture of his youth, Aizawa's finger hovers over one person's face.
"Oh, I remember him."
Katsuki's breath catches.
Aizawa-sensei trails his finger down to the names, circling the name of the face he'd pointed out that was streaked with blotchy ink.
Imasu Saito.
"He was one of the top students in our year, until his third year. Kept disappearing after class and even ditched. Dropped out right before graduation."
A thin thread circles the name, bright red just like his eyes.
This isn't just a throw-away line.
This was a lead.
"Tell me about him."
Surprised by the sudden interest, Aizawa continues. "I don't know. Last I checked, he was still living with his parents. Could be anywhere by now."
Heat burned in his throat. This could mean something. "Kenji Tanaka," Katsuki urges, iterating the name carefully "Did Saito...know Tanaka?"
Aizawa gives him an unamused expression. "Flattered to think you expect me to remember my classmates' names. And to answer your question, I wasn't even aware that there was a Kenji in my class. Now looking back, I doubt I ever interacted with him at all."
Katsuki groans, slamming his head on the table and sending paper scattering everywhere.
"Fuck humanity. This is what I get when I try to be a little fuckin' nice."
Well, a lead's a lead. Best to take advantage of it, no matter how small.
Aizawa raises an eyebrow, slides a hand to the mini-fridge and cracks a can of Red Bull.
He offers it to the blond wordlessly.
Katsuki swipes it from Aizawa's hand.
Best fuckin' teacher ever.
—
Katsuki shares his findings with you when he plops down in the hall later that evening, and you take turns to share yours.
"There's this guy that made headlines for one news issue." You show him the newspaper, and on it, he reads it out loud.
"20-Year-Old Claims The Existence Of The Non-Existent: The Hottest Flat Earther Theory."
Katsuki almost crumples the sandy paper in his hands. His mouth feels just as dry.
"Bullseye."
"Despite the catchy opening, it didn't do well. The news didn't stick, and there are no follow-ups in the issues before or after it." You push the paper down, causing Katsuki to look into your eyes. "This guy was—"
"Imasu Saito." Katsuki finishes, watching you nod in agreement. "A name. We have a name."
Katsuki looks at the decomposing tabloid, seeing gold. "Alright, spit it out. How did you even manage to find this? There were so many companies and articles—this isn't even from a big-name company. This could have taken years to uncover."
You wriggle your fingers together, shrugging. "Let's just say being invisible has its perks. And the internet. No one bats an eye towards me when I went through their archive."
"Their?"
"It's a long story."
Shrugging it off, Katsuki refocuses on their task. They have bigger fish to fry.
"We need an address." You tell him. "Do you have an address?"
Snorting, Katsuki gives you his most 'are you crazy' look. "Who do you think I am? God?"
"No, you're Katsuki Bakugou," Your eyes sear with confidence. Katsuki's felt that look somewhere. The pure, raw, doubtless look of trust behind those eyes.
He's definitely seen it somewhere before.
"You've risen from death and beat someone twice as powerful as you. You've bounced back from setback after setback. You're the winner of the Sports Festival and the top in Battle Simulation, and you've hacked into systems with firewalls so strong people on the other side of the screen think you have a Tech Quirk. You can find one measly address."
Well, when you put it like that, what is Katsuki supposed to say? Deny?
Puffing up his chest, he levels your gaze.
He can do this.
He can do this, and he will.
—
A week to the end of February, there's a text from Bakugou captioned "Look, at what I've got, you little shit."
On it, is an address of a residential apartment.
—
25 February 20XX
Katsuki could only get a permit to leave school on Friday, so it's the tail end of February when you leave school. It was only at this moment, did you allow excitement to swell in your chest. You're making progress. Much more progress than you had in years.
It was enough for you to start believing that there was hope for you after all.
And Katsuki was helping you.
Plugging the address in the GPS leads you both to your destination 30 minutes of U.A., and as you stand in front of a door with a fist raised, you glance at Katsuki.
He gives you a subtle nod.
Closing your eyes, you knock.
Please let him be home, please let him be home, please—
The door creaks open, and the door chain clinks as a lean man with lengthy limps peeks out. His eyes are cobalt blue, and when he looks at Katsuki, he squints.
"What do you want, kid?"
Wordlessly, Katsuki points to you, as if it explained everything.
All the trouble it took to find this stupid goon's house, led to one too-tall man that looked like he had survived a trainwreck.
Sunken eyes hollow, eyebags prominent, and body far too thin.
The man's orbs widen as he blinks rapidly, only just noticing your presence, even though you're standing right in front of him.
"Are you Isamu Saito?" Your voice is small, as if any louder would cause the floor to fall out from beneath you. "If so, I'd like to talk to you about this."
Rifling through your bag, you pull out the decade-year-old foolscap encapsulated in a file.
He just stands there, blinking, unflinching, mouth falling agape.
The door slams in your face.
At first you think that he wasn't who you'd assumed he was and that you had somehow gotten the wrong house.
But before the panic can sink in completely, you hear the door chain jingle as the door opens wide. The man's gaze of you is pitying, and he speaks directly to you for the first time.
"I'm Isamu Saito. Please, come inside."

Paywalled firmware site vanishes without warning
The paywalled firmware file hosting site easy-firmware has suddenly deleted all files from their servers, instead restricting downloads "by model number and IMEI".
This is a perfect demonstration of what's wrong with paywalled sites like easy-firmware and its many clones - the content is volatile and there is no guarantee it won't get pulled without warning one day.
While we've been able to download a sizable number of easy-firmware feature phone files thanks to others chipping in to pay the fees, there is certainly still lots missing. Only time will tell if the files that were once available there will surface again..
#digital preservation#no more paywalls#this is why you dont charge money for files you just grabbed from update servers#yes i will die on this hill#link rot is something that should've stayed in the 2000s

Update on my post from last night: (catch up here)
I decided to do what it seems most people do when they have a complaint about a company these days, I ranted about it on twitter.
Eventually, I got an automated response from their tech support account asking me to send them a DM and they would look into my issue. So I did just that, giving them a bit more detailed info on what was going on.
The first person to respond was a total asshole. Didn't even take time to pretend to research a solution. Just automatically said the phone I bought will not work, then proceeded to list several other phones I could purchase at one of their stores.
Obviously, I was not very happy with that answer. So I gave a slightly angry (for me) reply stating that I will not buy another phone; I only want to use the phone I already spent $800 to purchase, and that the manufacturer assures that it is fully compatible with T-Mobile network. After that, the "support" person just disappeared. Never replied again.
I decided to take a new screenshot of their site showing that the IMEI number is compatible and will work. This time more detailed and even showing that number, as well as writing another statement about my confusion on this issue.
45 minutes later, I get another automated response tweet (the same as the original) asking for me to send a DM and they would help. I simply tweeted back that I've already done that and the original person abandoned the convo.
Shortly after that a new (and much better) tech support guy replied to the screenshot and message I had sent earlier. He was as confused as I was about why the website would show the phone was compatible, but their internal systems claim that it's not. He even stated that he would try to do some deeper research into the problem and asked if there was anything else I needed help with while I waited.
To which I said no, but asked if it was possible if I just took the SIM card from my old phone and put it into the new one? Would that cause any problems?
He quickly replied telling me to go ahead and try it whenever I was ready and to let him know the results. He was just as curious about this issue as I was.
After which, I did exactly that. Powered up the new phone with the old SIM card, and ... "Can't connect to network." Damn! "Try again?" Of course! .... and success. It connected the second time and I have not noticed any issues. I made a couple test phone calls just to be sure, then informed Darren (very helpful tech support guy) of my results. We were both very happy with how things turned out.
So, now my new phone is working and I'm spending way too much time still trying to get everything set up the way I want it.
TLDR: T-Mobile tried to tell me that my new Nothing Phone 2 would not work on their network and I proved them wrong!
#personal#mine#Nothing Phone 2#T-Mobile#I hate tech issues#but I love being right#it is a nice ego boost to prove that an entire major corporation was wrong#my new phone#my first new phone in over 5 years!

Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim With 200MP Camera & Bright Colors
Camera Features
Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim with 200MP camera may launch in June. According to reports, Samsung will release a new small version of the Galaxy S25 in 2025, joining a possible iPhone 17 small that is expected to appear in the autumn. This may make 2025 the year of the “Slim” phone. The Galaxy S25 Slim was originally rumored to exist last week, and since then, a ton of more information has surfaced online, including the potential for ultra-tier camera gear.
Smartprix found the GSMA IMEI database entry for an upcoming Galaxy smartphone with the model number SM-S937U. The U designates that this phone is intended for the U.S. market, however other than that, the listing doesn’t include any significant information on the phone.
Smartprix also notes that the Galaxy S25 series’ S937 number matches previous models. Expected names for the Galaxy S25 are SM-S931, SM-S936 Galaxy S25 Plus, and SM-S938 Galaxy S25 Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim may be a good compromise between the Plus and Ultra variants if all of these product numbers line up.
It’s interesting to note that this phone could not be released with the other Galaxy S25 models when they come out next year. Samsung often adds phones to the GSMA database for testing six or seven months before to release, or in late spring, according to Smartprix. The three primary S25 series will be available in late January or early February if Samsung follows its regular release schedule.
Tipster Ice Universe reports the Galaxy S25 Slim will include a ‘Ultra’ camera, while specs are unknown. It is unclear what this signifies, however the phone may feature a camera configuration like the Galaxy S25 Ultra or better than the S25 and S25+.
However, it seems like Samsung will be selling more than just a standard phone that happens to be somewhat thinner. S25 Slim may have a “Ultra” camera, according to Leaker Ice Universe. They don’t clarify what that means, but it seems the Slim model may include Galaxy S25 Ultra-like camera capabilities.
That seems like a plausible candidate since Ultra Galaxy phones, including the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold SE, have sported 200MP primary cameras for the last several years. The additional camera lenses’ capabilities and compatibility with the Galaxy S25 Ultra are unclear. The S25 Ultra is said to include a 50MP ultrawide camera lens and a changeable telephoto lens that removes the need for a second shooter.
Note that telephoto lenses do need a lot of room. Even with a periscope lens, the amount of optical zoom that may be used may be limited by the Galaxy S25 Slim’s architecture.
Galaxy S25 Slim seen online, S25 and S25+ new colors rumored
A ‘Slim’ variant will join the Galaxy S25’s vanilla, Plus, and Ultra editions. This updated version could debut months before the rumored Apple iPhone 17 Slim/Air, providing Samsung an advantage. Recent reports have revealed the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim launch timetable and more.
Besides the ‘Slim’ variant, another leak shows two new Sparkling (literally) Galaxy S25/S25+ colors. In recent days, reports/leaks/rumours have increased about the Samsung Galaxy S25 series flagships’ debut date.
Samsung Galaxy S25 and S25+ glittering
Instead of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim, the Galaxy S25 and S25+ may receive Sparkling Blue and Green. Based on Ross Young’s list of Galaxy S25 series colors, tipster Tarun Vats supplied renderings of the basic Galaxy S25 or Galaxy S25+ to demonstrate the two additional scintillating colors.
The renderings show that the two new colors don’t provide any fresh design aspects. The Sparkling Blue is a lighter version of the Sapphire-Blue S24, while the Sparkling Green is similar to its Jade Green.
Beyond the new glittering colors, the Samsung Galaxy S25 may come in Moon Night Blue Silver Shadow and the S25+ in Midnight Black, Moon Night Blue, and Silver Shadow.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim Release Date
Samsung registers its gadgets in the GSMA IMEI database 6-7 months before introduction, according to the report. This gives the brand time to test before releasing. Smartprix claims the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim will debut in Q2 2025. The standard Galaxy S25 debuted months earlier.
If this is accurate, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim will compete with the Google Pixel 9a and Apple iPhone SE 4 around the same time.

What Are the Key Factors in Selecting a Used or Refurbished iPhone?
Investing in a refurbished or used iPhone can be an economical and smart way to enjoy the features of an Apple device without the hefty price tag. It can also be a great solution in case you have accidentally damaged your existing device. However, you must consider some key factors to make a suitable investment. Here is a brief guide to help you purchase a good refurbished Apple device from the best place to buy iPhone in UK.
Condition & Grading
Refurbished or used iPhones generally feature a grade ranging from A to C which indicates their condition.
Grade A - The device is almost new, with very few signs of usage.
Grade B - The device has light signs of wear and tear.
Grade C - The phone has noticeable dents or scratches.
To have realistic expectations about the functionality & appearance of the device, having a sound understanding of these grades is vital.
Seller Reputation
Finding the best place to buy iPhone online in UK is important for avoiding scams and ensuring a quality product. Try to find sellers with good ratings and positive reviews. Certified refurbishers or established retailers generally offer reliable products and better after-sales support.
Warranty & Return Policy
A good warranty & return policy is essential when purchasing a refurbished or used iPhone. Proper warranty coverage won’t just grant you peace of mind but also cover potential issues or defects. A feasible return policy, on the other hand, will let you return the device if it fails to meet your expectations.
Check Authenticity
Make sure that the iPhone you are buying is authentic and not a cheap counterfeit. Don’t forget to verify its IMEI number and check whether or not the device is locked to a particular carrier.
Therefore, make sure to keep these things in mind when buying a used or refurbished iPhone.

It can be annoying to deal with IT problems, particularly when you're tied to time and just want things to function. Contacting customer care as soon as possible can make a big impact, whether your OnePlus device is acting strangely, or you need assistance with anything more particular. OnePlus, thankfully, has multiple channels for communication with their support staff; this article will assist you in determining which one is fastest.
The Importance of Getting Fast Access to OnePlus Support
We've all been in situations where a software update goes wrong and leaves you stranded without your phone, or when your phone just stops charging altogether. Knowing how to get aid quickly is essential in situations like this. Renowned for its cutting-edge smartphones and tech devices, OnePlus boasts a strong customer service team that is ready to help you as soon as possible. Seeking the appropriate assistance can help you avoid wasting time or stress, regardless of the size of the problem.
Simple Methods for Reaching OnePlus Customer Service Knowing the fastest ways to contact OnePlus customer support is helpful when time is of the essence. Here are a few efficient ways to get in touch with them and get your problem taken care of right away. 1. Consult the OnePlus Support Website first. Your first port of call should be the OnePlus support website. It's simple to use and full of useful resources: Go to the Support Page: Visit the OnePlus Support webpage. You can easily find what you need thanks to the layout's easy design. Select Your Item: Choose the appropriate category based on whether it's your phone, earphones, or another device made by OnePlus. Examine the FAQs: Check out the FAQ section briefly before contacting assistance. Sometimes the answer is right away, which can save you the headache of submitting a support request. Send in a Request: In case you can't find what, you're looking for, feel free to send in a thorough support request. This enables you to explain your issue in detail so that a customized solution may be provided by the support staff.
2. Access the Customer Support Chat on OnePlus The customer care chat feature on OnePlus is an excellent choice if you'd rather have help in real time. It is simple to use and quick: Launch a Conversation: Look for the chat icon on the help page; it's generally tucked away in the lower right corner.
Give Your Details: You'll need to provide some basic information, including your name and email, before the chat can start. Additionally, you'll provide a brief explanation of the state of your equipment. Obtain Help Right Away: You will be able to troubleshoot your issue by chatting with a support agent once you are connected. For simpler problems, this is frequently the quickest approach to solve them. Pro Tip: Before beginning the chat, be prepared with the specifics of your device, such as the IMEI number and any order information. This may facilitate a quicker pace.
3. Speak with OnePlus Customer Support. Nothing beats a good, old-fashioned phone conversation sometimes, particularly if your problem is complicated or you just feel better speaking with a live person. This is how you do it:
Choose the Correct Number: The phone number for OnePlus varies based on your location. To determine the appropriate number for your area, go to the OnePlus Support website. Get Ready Before Making a Call: Make sure you have your order number, IMEI, and a clear understanding of what you need help with on hand. Speak with an Agent: A support agent will walk you through troubleshooting procedures or other solutions once you're on the line.
4. Make Contact on social media OnePlus also helps via social media sites like Facebook and Twitter for users that use them more frequently: Tweet Your Problem: @OnePlus_Support is the Twitter account to contact. They are generally fast to respond and quite responsive. Send a Facebook Message: OnePlus's official Facebook page allows you to message them if that's more your style. Become a Part of the Community: There's an active online community for OnePlus. There are many other people in the forums who may have encountered the same problem as you. In certain cases, you can even receive a quicker response here than through official support methods.
Advice for a Seamless Help Experience When interacting with customer service, a little advance planning will help you get your issue resolved quickly: Be Specific About Your Issue: The support team will be able to assist you more easily if you are specific about your issue while expressing it. Consider that an early advantage for them. Select the Appropriate Channel: Select the most appropriate help option for your problem. For less complex problems, a phone conversation could be preferred over a brief conversation. If Follow-Up Is Required: Don't be afraid to follow up if your issue isn't fixed immediately away. Keep any previous communication or reference numbers close at hand so you can reach where you left off.
Typical Issues and How OnePlus Support Can Assist The OnePlus support staff is available to assist with a variety of difficulties, including account problems and hardware issues: Device malfunctions: They can assist with identifying the problem and provide a solution if your phone isn't functioning properly. There is a way that will work for you, whether you decide to use their help website, initiate a chat, give them a call, or connect with them on social media. I just bought a new cell phone, but I can't exactly activate and use it just yet.
It's an unlocked phone that I ordered direct from the manufacturer and not from T-Mobile. I always buy my phones this way, so that I actually own them and can keep them indefinitely.
Since it was delivered today, I decided to go online and order a SIM card so I can activate the new phone and replace my old one.
The pictures above show the two very different results I got when checking the IMEI number.
On the left, are the results I received when I was simply on the site as a "guest." Everything comes up great. This phone should work just fine on the network.
The second picture shows the results I got when checking the exact same IMEI number after logging in to my account. Now, it says that this phone will not work with T-Mobile.
I would like to point out that before I spent a massive amount of money ordering the new phone, I did my homework. I checked the specs, confirmed all of the network frequencies between the device and what T-Mobile uses. Everything checks out. Those same specs even specify that this phone has full T-Mobile support.
The options that I am given to resolve the issues shown when logged in, are to go to a store or call their customer service line. Basically, they want me to talk to salespeople, so they can try to upsell me on just about everything I don't need!
All I want is to just use my new phone and get rid of my old one!

The Ultimate Guide to Buying an iPhone XR Used Unlocked
In the ever-evolving world of smartphones, the iPhone XR remains a popular choice due to its impressive performance and value. If you're considering buying a phone that offers the best of both worlds—affordability and functionality—opt for a used unlocked iPhone XR. This guide will provide you with essential insights on what to expect, how to ensure a quality purchase, and the advantages of choosing an unlocked device.
Why Choose a Used Unlocked iPhone XR?
The iPhone XR, released by Apple in 2018, has garnered a reputation for its robust performance, vibrant display, and exceptional battery life. A iphone xr used unlockedᅠallows you to enjoy all these features without the hefty price tag of a new model. When buying a used phone, opting for an unlocked version means you're not tied to any specific carrier, offering greater flexibility in choosing or switching carriers.
Key Benefits of Buying a Used Unlocked iPhone XR
Cost-Effectiveness: One of the main attractions of purchasing a used iPhone XR is the cost savings. With a new iPhone XR being quite an investment, buying a used unlocked version can be a significant money saver while still delivering excellent performance.
Freedom to Choose Your Carrier: An unlocked iPhone XR provides you with the freedom to select your carrier and plan without restrictions. This flexibility is particularly advantageous if you travel frequently or prefer to switch carriers for better deals.
Environmental Impact: Purchasing a used phone contributes to reducing electronic waste. By opting for a used unlocked iPhone XR, you're making an environmentally conscious choice, extending the lifecycle of the device and minimizing its impact on the environment.
What to Look For When Buying a Used Unlocked iPhone XR
When shopping for a used unlocked iPhone XR, there are several crucial factors to consider to ensure you make a smart purchase:
Condition of the Device: Inspect the phone carefully for any physical damage, such as scratches or dents.
ᅠCheck that the screen is free from cracks and that all buttons and ports function properly. If possible, request to see the device in action to verify its performance.
Battery Health: Battery life is a critical aspect of any used phone. Ask the seller about the battery health percentage. iPhones provide a built-in feature to check battery health under Settings > Battery > Battery Health. A battery health percentage below 80% may indicate that it might need a replacement soon.
Check for Carrier Lock Status: While the iPhone XR you're interested in should be unlocked, it's still wise to confirm this. You can do this by checking the device's IMEI number through various online services to ensure it's not tied to any specific carrier.
Verify the Warranty and Return Policy: Confirm if the phone is still under warranty or if the seller offers a return policy. This can provide added peace of mind in case you encounter any issues after purchase.
Pricing and Authenticity: Compare prices from different sellers to ensure you're getting a fair deal. Be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true, as they may indicate a scam or counterfeit device. Always buy from reputable sources or sellers with positive reviews.
In summary, a used unlocked iPhone XR offers a fantastic balance of affordability and functionality, making it a smart choice for those seeking value without compromising on performance. By being diligent about the condition, battery health, and carrier status, you can confidently purchase a used iPhone XR that meets your needs. What to do if your phone gets stolen
If your phone falls into the hands of criminals, do not panic. Here is how to protect your data.
June 2, 2021
If you can’t find your phone, don’t panic. Exhaust your good options — maybe you misplaced it or lent it to someone, or buried it under some papers — and then, unfortunately, assume it was stolen. If you read our post on how to theft-proof your smartphone and data and followed the tips, then you’ve safeguarded your information and can restore it on a new phone. But even if you didn’t prepare in advance, you can reduce the damage.
Table of Contents:
Best-case scenario
Worst-case scenario
Have your SIM card blocked
Warn your relatives and friends
Block stolen smartphone
Unlink bank cards
Block the smartphone’s IMEI number
What’s next?
Contact the police
Change your passwords
Restore your data
Cheer up
Best-case scenario
Your phone’s screen was locked when it went missing, the data on it is encrypted, and the SIM card is PIN-protected. In that case:
Use the Find My Device (Android) or Find My (iOS) feature to mark the phone as lost and have the device display an on-screen message with the number of a friend or relative who can contact you in case someone honest finds the device;
After waiting as long as you’re comfortable on the first step, remotely delete all data on the device and contact your operator to block the SIM card;
Buy a new smartphone and restore your data from a backup copy.
We also recommend staying vigilant after the theft. Thieves often take advantage of that contact information, especially with more expensive devices, and use social engineering to trick the owner of the stolen device into revealing the password for their Google or Apple ID account. If successful, they can unlink the device from the account and make more money by selling the phone whole than by disassembling it and selling the parts.
In short, treat all texts and calls related to a stolen phone with the utmost suspicion, and do not enter or reveal your Google account or Apple ID credentials.
Worst-case scenario
If the smartphone landed in the wrong hands and it is not protected, possibly not even by a screen lock, then time is of the essence. The first thing you need is another phone from which to make several calls. Ask store or restaurant staff to use their phone, or flag down a cab and borrow the driver’s phone.
Block your SIM card
Your first call is to your carrier. Tell the support rep that you lost your SIM card and ask them to block it. Once the SIM card is blocked, the thief will no longer be able to impersonate you (call from your number or receive a text message with a verification code for changing a password or confirming a transaction, for example).
Warn relatives and friends
Your second call should be to a friend or relative. Explain that your phone was stolen, and ask them to warn mutual contacts that they might get calls or messages from your number with requests for money or maybe some questions, all of which they should ignore. You might want to ask them to post a warning on social media if you share many friends there.
Block smartphone
You will need access to the Internet to block your stolen smartphone. If at all possible, do so on a secure device; you will be entering your password.
First, log in to your Google or Apple ID account. If you are logging in from someone else’s device, and you have two-factor authentication set up, that may be difficult. Obviously, you can’t get a verification text or open a mobile authenticator app; your phone is gone. Android users can change the password without text message verification. If that applies to you, you will need to enter one of the backup codes you received when setting up two-factor authentication. iPhone users can recover account access by having a verification code sent to a trusted phone number or device.
Once you have logged in to your Google or Apple ID account, here’s what to do:
Find your missing smartphone in the device list under Security (for Android phones) or the Find My iPhone app (for iPhones) and find the missing smartphone in the list of devices;
Note the location of the smartphone on the map. If the phone is on and geolocation is active, its location icon should appear. However, even if the thief’s path is clear, do not try to chase them. Rather, ask the police for help;
Select Lost Mode. The system will offer to enter a message for the lock screen and a backup number to contact you. Your smartphone will now display that message, and nothing else. If the phone was simply misplaced, not stolen, the finder will be able to call you. Watch out for phishing messages and calls; criminals may pose as support reps and contact you to try to get the account password;
If your device contains important and sensitive information, consider the drastic measure of erasing it remotely. However, keep in mind that option is irrevocable — and also means giving up the ability to locate the phone remotely.
Unlink bank cards
When you block your smartphone with Find My or Find My Device, respectively, Apple or Google may suggest unlinking any associated cards, but in case it doesn’t, unlink bank cards from your device manually in the account settings. Unless they were stolen along with the phone, you don’t need to block the cards.
For Android devices:
Sign in to your Google account;
In the Payments & subscriptions section, select Payment settings;
Remove your cards.
For iPhone:
Sign in to your Apple ID account;
In the Devices section, find the missing iPhone and select Remove all cards.
Block the smartphone’s IMEI number
In some countries, in addition to having the SIM card blocked, you can add a stolen phone’s identification number (IMEI) to the carrier’s blocklist. To do that, you need to give the carrier this number. If you have the box in which the phone came, you can find the number on it.
Android lets you use the Find your phone feature to find the IMEI: Click on the encircled “i” next to the image of your phone and the IMEI code will pop up.
iPhone users can find theirs at appleid.apple.com by signing in with the Apple ID used on the stolen device, scrolling down to Devices, and selecting the iPhone to see its IMEI.
In theory, once the carrier adds the IMEI to the blocklist, the smartphone will not be able to connect to the mobile network even with a different SIM card. This feature works in the United States, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Latvia and certain Latin American countries.
What’s next?
Once you’ve taken prudent steps to protect yourself and your data, it’s time to get down to mitigating other potential consequences.
Contact the police
Report the theft, giving police details such as carrier and phone number. However slim, there is still a chance to get your smartphone back. Sometimes phones get returned even after being missing for years.
Change your passwords
Change as many passwords as you can in your apps and mobile browser. Once you’ve replaced the passwords, set up two-factor authentication.
Restore your data
If you enabled backup on the device while you still had it, then you will be able to recover all information, down to text messages, on your new smartphone.
Here are the steps to do this on Android and iPhone.
Cheer up
The loss of a smartphone certainly carries serious stress and is a threat to your data. However, if you follow the steps above and back up your data in advance, you can cut your losses. Do not despair because your gadget was lost or stolen — your personal safety is the top priority.

The Ultimate Guide to Finding a High-Quality Second Hand Phone Online
Why Buy Second Hand?
Buying a second hand phone can be a budget-friendly and eco-conscious choice. Not only do you save a chunk of money, but you’re also giving a device a new home, reducing electronic waste.
Budget-Friendly
Second-hand phones come at a fraction of the cost of brand-new models. You can get a higher model with advanced features for the price of a mid-range new phone.
Eco-Conscious Choice
Recycling electronics is crucial. By buying a second-hand phone, you contribute to a more sustainable environment. Every reused gadget means one less in the landfill.
Things to Consider Before Buying
Check the Phone's Condition
Understand what you’re buying. Conditions can range from 'new' to 'fair.' Here are some key points:
Cosmetic Damage: Look for scratches, dents, or screen cracks.
Battery Health: Over time, batteries degrade. Ensure the battery life is good.
Functionality: Test all functions like camera, speaker, and touch screen.
Research Prices
Compare prices across different platforms to ensure you’re getting a good deal. Websites like eBay, Swappa, and Facebook Marketplace can provide a diverse range of options.
Evaluate the Seller's Reputation
Check out the seller’s reviews and ratings. A trusted seller usually has positive feedback and a high rating.
Warranty and Return Policy
A warranty or return policy can be a lifesaver. It offers peace of mind if something goes wrong with the phone shortly after purchase.
Where to Buy Second Hand Phones
Online Marketplaces
There are numerous online platforms where you can buy second hand phones. Here are a few:
eBay: A well-known marketplace with buyer protection.
Swappa: This site focuses on phones and other gadgets, ensuring items are in good working condition.
Amazon Renewed: Phones go through testing before being listed, adding an extra layer of assurance.
Classified Ads
Websites like Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace let you buy directly from sellers in your locality. This can sometimes lead to better deals.
Refurbished Phone Retailers
Retailers like Gazelle or Decluttr specialize in refurbished electronics. These phones are usually inspected, repaired, and certified before sale.
Key Features to Look For
Battery Life
A long-lasting battery is essential. Look for reviews and check the phone's battery health report if possible.
Storage Capacity
Ensure the phone has enough internal storage for your needs. Also, check if it supports external memory cards.
Camera Quality
Camera quality can vary significantly between models. If photography is important to you, research the camera specifications and read reviews.
Operating System
Ensure the phone supports the latest operating system version for better security and functionality.
Tips for a Safe Transaction
Meet in Public Places
If you’re buying locally, always meet in a well-lit, public place. Bring a friend along for extra safety.
Use Secure Payment Methods
Avoid paying with cash or wire transfers. Opt for secure payment methods like PayPal, which offer buyer protection.
Inspect the Phone in Person
If possible, inspect the phone before making a payment. Check for physical damage and test its functionality.
Check IMEI Number
Ensure the phone isn’t blacklisted by checking its IMEI number. Websites like IMEI.info offer free checks.
Conclusion

By paying attention to the phone's condition, researching prices, and ensuring secure transactions, you can walk away with a great deal. Remember, you’re not just saving money—you’re also helping the environment. Happy hunting for that perfect phone!
