#what if literal demonic cultivation as in SVSSS-style demons

Okay I’ve thought about this for another five minutes and now I want the MDZS/SVSSS crossover where WWX still invents his own unique ghost cultivation path, but where Madame Yu does traditional demonic cultivation because she’s a literal demon from the Abyss (the Violet Spider because she’s an actual spider demon, maybe). She fell in love with a human cultivator and entrapped him into marriage against his will and is now going to make her dissatisfaction with the human realm all Jiang Cheng’s problem.

Everyone is sure that Wei Wuxian was making all those heretical suggestions in class at Cloud Recesses because the Jiang sect are literally in bed with demons. The Jiang heir is even half-demon! And since both JC and WWX lack LBH’s magic stallion-novel protagonist halo, it means they’re both subject to extra scrutiny. JC had better be the most conventional righteous cultivator ever to overcome the suspicion caused by having demon blood and a demon mom and WWX and his “but what if?” questions aren’t helping!

This situation only heightens JC’s issues about his father favoring WWX, of course. Of course his father wishes he had a non-demonic heir. Madame Yu’s talk about how Jiang Cheng isn’t good enough for Jiang Fengmian sounds even more plausible when there’s an actual objective reason for it.

The Jiang sect leader being married to a demon/potential demonic influence in the Jiang sect is the excuse the Wens use to go after them. Jiang Cheng’s core built up by years of righteous cultivation is crushed, but luckily for him, his demon heritage means there’s another way for him to form a core.

Wei Wuxian doesn’t need to make his dramatic sacrifice, though he still does all the research hoping that he can prevent Jiang Cheng from having to resort to the demonic path. But this time around, Wen Qing isn’t willing to do the transfer, because Jiang Cheng’s half-demon body might not even accept a fully human core - his body might just consume it demon-style and then he’d be doing demonic cultivation anyway and WWX would have made the sacrifice for nothing.

Wei Wuxian still ends up captured by the Wens, gets his core crushed, and the whole burial mound + cultivating with resentful energy to survive series of events happens just like in canon. Except this time Jiang Cheng doesn’t have Wei Wuxian’s golden core. He has his own core, reformed and regrown one defeated enemy at a time, and with each battle in the Sunshot Campaign he grows more powerful.

When Wei Wuxian returns from the burial mounds, he knows what his brother has been doing as soon as he sees him, and there’s no reason not to tell Jiang Cheng and Yanli all about it. Instead of demonic cultivation driving WWX and JC apart, they bond. They’ve both taken the “wrong” path to survive, even though their paths, both called “demonic cultivation,” are very different at base, they’re equally unacceptable and tainted in the eyes of the cultivation world and there’s no reason for Wei Wuxian to separate himself from the Jiang sect. He and his ghost general become the Lotus Demon’s left and right hands.

Shijie has always been very empathetic, and her demonic heritage means she’s sensitive to resentful energy, too (said heritage is why Jin Zixun originally rejected her). She was never able to properly cultivate the righteous human way, her demon traits were too strong, and forming a core the demonic way wasn’t allowed, but for a demon it’s never too late to start - WWX has his first necromancer apprentice.

Lotus Pier will never be accepted among the other sects again, but it doesn’t matter. The Demonic Sect Leader and his necromancer siblings are unstoppable.

no wait actually it'd be funny as hell if the svsss otome game was stupidly accurate to the characters and nature of the novels. butterflies? romance? sure, but don't forget absolute crack induced mess with a hint of angst! allow me to demonstrate.

pursuing shen qingqiu: you're trying to pursue shen qingqiu? good fucking luck because he's dense as hell and will take multiple chapters to even realize you like him, nonetheless actually like you back. you're gonna have to witness his mental gymnastics first hand while attempting to flirt with him or literally showing any amount of affection. so, either you're gonna have to take it slow and wait for sqq to finally realize, or you're gonna have to be real damn obvious (and even then, he'll find up some excuse or not notice at all). sure, his affection meter will go up, but much.. slower than usual. considering his lack of care for "canon fodder" compared to lbh and pure denseness.

you won't be able to win. set your gender as female? no no, you're for lbh! he'd kill sqq for even daring to look at someone as beautiful as you! set yourself as male? whattt? he's not gay! no sir, no way! you may be attractive, but shen qingqiu is a perfectly normal and straight man!! this probably won't apply if the player sets themself as gn though lol

you'll probably get an option to clarify yourself every time you interact with him ngl. just to make sure he understands. drawbacks are making him think that you don't think he's capable of understanding things (if you say some corny ass romance shit he and sqh will not take it seriously)

pursuing liu qingge: prepare to keep your inventory open because the man will pop up out of buttfuck nowhere and gift you demonic beast heads as if they were a couple of treats! no explanation needed besides "..this is for you". then, he'll take off running or stand uncomfortably still watching you take in the bloody monster corpse as you try to formulate a proper response. respond in anything else but a thank you and a nice smile? liu qingge is confused and devastated and will not get over this moment. please just be nice to him from the start (unless you want a rivals to friends to lovers style romance). the poor guy is just so beautiful he hasn't been able to learn any proper social skills! he got it pretty easy, but now he's emotionally constipated. uh oh!

tell lqg he's cute? he's going to try and fight you. give lqg a little kiss? he's gonna punch you. in the face!! softly! ...with his own lips (whenever you do something to fluster lqg you won't be able to tell if combat mode got activated or not).

but that'll only be further on in the relationship, so just be ready to get into a duel with him because lqg cannot for the life of him understand the little butterflies in his stomach whenever he sees you. so thus, he believes he should take it out by fighting you or running away to slay beasts 5x faster than usual

please don't even get me started on shen jiu. just don't. you're probably going to want to punch him midway pursuing him.

"okay, we already know about sqq/sy, sj, sqh, lbh, etc! what about the other characters? characters that people don't talk about nearly as much. how would someone even work with them? how will they live up to them in true svsss crack fashion?" -you, probably

haha, you think characters like zhuzhi-lang and mu qingfang, etc, would be safe? they're in svsss out of all places!

sure, mu qingfang may be pretty relaxed (and bland, not a lot there, honestly. curse sqq's narration and lack of attention for anyone other than lbh) compared to the other pursuable characters, but he is a very busy doctor! a doctor that is literally living in a world with none of the technology and knowledge we have in the modern day, full of porn plants and a thing called dual cultivation which, I'm sure is pretty morally ethical.

the poor man is probably drinking away, having to deal with sending away yet another patient to live with a terrible illness which he cannot do anything about. having to see yet another helpless, pregnant teenage concubine who didn't have a say in anything. sure, magic exists, but do you think airplane really thought about shit like this? can you just imagine how fucked over mu qingfang must feel? his route would probably consist of him constantly feeling like he can never do enough, how he's pretty much a workaholic because that's the least he can give to the people and help others. and please, the dual cultivation. how can he, a healer, refuse?

what if he doesn't want it? save the person, and get it over with. mu qingfang is doing a good deed. he'll be a bad healer- no, a bad person if he doesn't do this. he doesn't want to be. please, he's doing his best.

if you're gonna pursue mu qingfang, just get ready because if i ever make a damn svsss otome game i will absolutely not hold back on the hurt and angst, no matter how silly it is. idk, if the character isn't character-ing enough i will make it work.

(oh and, gongyi xiao? head disciple with way too much pressure on him, expected to be the perfect student people look up to and congratulate. all while having to deal with the empty affection old palace master shows him, and the conflicting feelings of being with the little palace mistress. he never feels like he's good enough. fool's gold, really. oh, what'll happen when you, the player, snatches his poor heart away? why is it with you, he's able to feel like real gold instead of a mere fake?)

haha anyways moving on from that, zhuzhi-lang!

he doesn't know how romance actually works. he's just been fed really bad "romance" novels from tianlang jun and thus thinks that's how it goes. stalking? homicide? surely, that's just how it's supposed to be? why else would there be so many romance books containing that? well, if it's to reciprocate your feelings, okay (he just told tianlang-jun about one encounter with you, which resulted in him swooning about "young love" and gave really terrible advice to poor impressionable zhuzhi-lang)! who is he to go against his uncle?

you know how wack the two of them are, even if zhuzhi-lang is a good boy and tianlang-jun's a babygirl. just be careful around them. actually, be careful around everyone here because you're either going to get a headache or deal with lots of baggage. or both! (god forbid some masochist try to pursue mobei-jun or sha hualing)

please help i just had a dream where svsss was a dating sim. so, of course i tried pursuing shen qingqiu, but it ultimately backfired because suddenly he realized that he was in a dating visual novel?? and since i put myself as a guy, he just refused to show up to special in game events to avoid me interacting with him???

and obviously i was like "wtf why isn't he here?" when he didn't show up. then at some point i explored the area, and the screen suddenly zoomed in to show sqq talking to sqh (supposedly telling him all about the little situation). next thing i know, both of them are slowly turning their head to stare at the screen in pure and utter terror

also in some part of the dream, i think i did some liu qingge events or something and as his affection levels rose, he would continuously jump scare me by popping up out of nowhere and go, "its not like i like you or anything!!" while covered in blood and holding out a demonic beast head as if it were a box of treats

Pretty one and the gruff one im THINKING is He Xuan (or Ming Yi/ Ming-Xiong/Ming Bro) for the grumpy one and Shi Qingxuan for the pretty one and both are kinda gender fluid?? I think The Two Gruff Idiots are Feng Xin (dark haired gruff boy) and Mu Qing (brown haired gruff boy) and theyre both martial gods and both knew each other for over 800 years and both tried to take care of Actual Human And Heavenly Disaster Xie Lian, failed, and tried to do it again 800 years later but with stupid glasses with moustaches in hopes that Xie Lian cant figure out that they care about him but OOPS Xie Lian does in fact have the braincell of the three of them fajfafjajf

Its about 1 Dumb Yet So Smart gay/bi man (Wei Wuxian) who honestly tries his fucking best, fucks up everything, dies for over a decade, and then is forcefully brought back to life to solve a murder mystery with the guy who has been in Super Gay Love with him since they were teens (Lan Zhan), a bunch of teens Who Are Just Honestly Here For A Good Time And Yet (Lan Juniors, Jin Ling, and Best Boy Ouyang Zizhen ) while badly hiding his real identity from all the people he knows, including his foster brother (Jiang Cheng) who is out for blood and hunting his ass down with a whip and also Lan Zhan who is travelling with him. Also the Killer. There is a killer on the loose and is willing to murder whoever to keep their secrets. Also Nie Huaisang. I adore him and his brother Nie Mingjue, if there is one bitch u gotta remember from this summary it’s this little twink (he and his brother also have a fucking spin off movie from the live action drama THAT I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO FIND A ENGLISH SUB VERSION AND ITS BEEN KILLING ME SINCE I STARTED WATCHING THIS SHOW LAST YEAR. My Personal Current Favourite is Scum Villain’s Self Saving System (SVSSS) which is SOOOOOOO FUNNY Like it’s not as popular cause the comic was discontinued, and the anime looks like its from 2005 with the weird 3D animation but its my current comfort media!!! 

Its basically about a spite reading millennial (Shen Yuan) who died after reading a REALLY awful popular cheesy smut harem novel (think like 50 shade series but worse cause the protag had 600 wives) and was forced into the body of a minor but important villain (the protagonist’s teacher, Shen Qingqiu) from the novel who was fated to die with all his limbs cut off and his eyes and tongue plucked out and is told he has to fix the story so its not trash, he reasonably freaks the fuck out and hugs the protagonists (Luo Binghe) thigh so hard he turns him gay without realizing. Sadly, he does have to make sure certain plot points happen, which fucks him over a lot,  and he thinks Luo Binghe still wants to kill him instead of love him cause he has the Emotional Intelligence of a Rock, but its so funny reading about him handling all the awful tropey stuff, like imagine u have to be a character in My Immortal But With Porn?????? without breaking out of character too much?? I wouldn’t be able to handle it ajhakfkfhjfj He also finds out that he’s not the only transmigrator in the novel either, but it doesn’t matter cause theyre both So Fucking Stupid Collectively but everyone would honestly die for the both of them

warning for this story though, the main relationship is a teacher/student relationship, but nothing happens until the student is in his 20s and also kinda not his student anymore cause he’s running hell??? but if that squicks u out i totally understand and offer you to PLEASE still enjoy some of this media, and instead of the BingQiu ship, I offer you the LiuQiu one, where both me and the main character cry over how a beautiful man/fellow immortal lord loves the main character so much that he literally fought every day for 5 years to be by his side and I Think Thats Beautiful and I kinda like this ship more than the main one tbh PLEASE just look at the art for Liu Qingge because i love him so much, he’s like if you took Lan Zhan and Jiang Cheng from MDZS and mashed them into one beautiful man the author is trying to tell me is straight but u take one look at him And Tell Me Otherwise

• Mission time!!

• Nice. Shen Qingqiu complained earlier about cultivators using horses and carriages when he was reviewing the book. It is a bit weird, but 🤷🏻‍♀️

• "Ming Fan was truly well-versed in being a piece of cannon fodder." His entire character so far.

• The Skinner. Sounds like an exciting arc is starting.

• Ohhhhhh loopholes in the system's OOC function. He's coming up with every workaround to be nice to Luo Binghe and everyone is SHOCKED.

• AND we already have Luo Binghe being like 'he's good to look at' 🤣

■Chapter 6■

• "He didn’t like looking at an old man in his sixties and a teenage girl fondling each other in front of him at all!" Good I'm not the only one.

• Of course Ning Yingying went missing. So far she just accidentally starts trouble over and over again.

• "Fuck, if there’s an Easy Mode why didn’t you say so earlier! Activate activate activate!" Honestly a mood.

• Oh good not totally naked.

• Immediately guesses correctly who The Skinner is and then just waits for the classic boss narrative. I love Shen Qingqiu 😚

• Ohhh. The butterfly demon is clever! Using Shen Qingqiu as their next skin so that they can use the Xiu Ya Sword to make themselves stronger 👏 but then they just gave away the entire plan.

• Luo Binghe sees Shen Qingqiu half naked, vulnerable, and tied up 👀

• Please tell me there's a reason you're directing the Butterfly toward Luo Binghe with your weird roundabout complements~~

■Chapter 8■

• Exploits the systems rule that only Luo Binghe can't die, but then complains about what a cop out it will be for the reader 😅

• "...Just praised you and you said something stupid again. Please don’t talk about how to release your enemy"

• I forgot that he set the mission to easy mode!

• "Even if something does happen, nothing will happen to you.” hi. They're being cute again.

•Earning a whole bunch of points and disabling OOC function. Shen Qingqiu having free control, I sense chaos in the wind~

• He gave Luo Binghe the right cultivation methods. The best master. 💗

■Chap 9■

• Enters the spirit cave to find a way to cultivate, immediately had to deal with someone's Qi deviation.

• 'Congratulations! The system’s notice: Changed the scene ‘Liu Qingge’s death,’ the death and hatred values for the villain ‘Shen Qingqiu’ have decreased' OHHHHH he can change whole scenes and his character!

• Each of the peaks is know for their own thing thats cool. There is an Ascetic peak? And a Lovley Ladies peak 🤣🤣

• I love Shen Qingqiu being devastated by Liu Qingge not being a big tough guy.

• Every single person when Shen Qingqiu is being genuinely nice: 😱🧐

■Chapter 10■

• Shen Qingqiu sees Luo Binghe: oh good he's here! When he sees the leader of the demon invasion: "Don't your feet hurt?"

• I think I need to see some art of the Demon Saint Sha Hualing. Her description is mint. 💃🏻

• Here we go again with the making your character be less like scum. HUM. I wonder if that will change the plot...

■Chapter 11■

•Shen Qingqiu out here getting all fancy fighting the one armed demon with just his fan. God that's style.

• Luo Binghe being like 👀🤩💘

•OH NO NOT HIS COOL LEVEL 🤣

• She is so beautiful that she has to wear a veil all the time. Damn. Thats powerful.

•Shen Qingqiu then just fawns over both the future wives of Luo Binghe being in his presence. "The beauty of an Evil demon girl’s wild and unrestrained behavior can make him drunk; the Righteous saint girl wavering between abstinence and desire letting people’s hearts itch." Dramatic ass

■Chapter 12■

• Everyone thinks he's crazy for calling Binghe forward to fight. And they basically beg him to forfit so he doesn't die... but didn't we say earlier that the protagonist can't die.

• Binghe really takes it to heart every time Qingqiu says he believes he'll make it through.

• He's mad that Binghe didn't win even more cool points 😆

• The demon is so mad he lost and was shamed that he decides it would be a good idea to slight up attack Luo Binghe again. Demon logic.

• "These righteous and awe-inspiring words didn’t just make the demons speechless; in his heart, even Shen Qingqiu’s own old face turned dark red." And I'm sure broke Binghe's brain a little bit.

• Binghe literally: 🤩🤩😍 He saved me again, and be believes in me 💘

• AGAIN?

■Chapter 13■

•He can't stop himself from jumping in front of Luo Binghe again and again.......

• "In his mind and heart there was a string of scrolling fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck brushed all over the screen." Honestly I'd think the same id I was poisoned.

• Luo Binghe is PISSED.

• "Shizun, this disciple is willing to receive the attack in your stead.” 😵 "Since you know this injury is because of you, you should properly protect your own life!” ☠💀☠💀

• Liu Qingge is like, oh, you wanted to run away after attacking us unprompted. No.

• Improves his own role, then sees Binghe crying for him, immediately regrets his decision, passes out.

■Chapter 14■

•Luo Binghe watching his Shizun from as far away as possible is sad.

• Shen Qingqiu is just now seeing how much he's changed the story. And how the future events scare him. Whooo.

• "Luo Binghe immediately ran to the kitchen. The congee that he remade every hour these days finally came of use." 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 Oh no. He's like fully committed.

• The flirting is RIDICULOUS. "Why don't I make you something new everyday" 😫

• Shen Qingqiu realizes that's his best pickup line in the original story, but being all, what a guy, why not!

• Him trying to get away with not pushing Luo Binghe into the Abyss.

•You're telling me that in the original book that having set with a half demon half great cultivator is the cure. And that that helps him level up?

■Chapter 15■

• Liu Qingge and Shen Qingqiu being brothers is cute. But even he thought that Qingqiu might be possessed

• Ming Fan is so mad hearing positive words about Luo Binghe from Shen Qingqiu that he throws a fit. Abd Binghe just accepts it. Hes the best boy.

•The name Dream Realm........ I wonder where this could possibly go!

@dragoncharming  #YES i was Literally thinking lbh would have his apron as a big craft project to signify a level up on his domestic skills #i was also thinking about how he would find out about the different monster lore that he could bring back to shizun #sqq has a stroke when he does the pokerap #(i think there's a month where there's a miscommunication and binghe thinks pokemon go is real bc it's described as finding monsters that #aren't really there/visible and he thinks he can't see them bc his power is suppressed #and tatsu takes everything seriously enough that Of Course it's real #it takes himawari to notice that while she's doing homework he's also doing flash cards for digimon

XD Yeah, he probably got the apron pretty quickly, but added a pattern himself later, like you said - then he makes a new one when he gets home to the SVSSS universe entirely by hand. The stitching is a good moving meditation while he’s getting used to circulating his qi again, and also to having both demonic and cultivator qi in his system.

I think Binghe’s a bit too clever to fall into the trap of thinking pokemon are real, but I like the idea of him getting into them and digimon as well. Maybe Miku introduces him to Pokemon Go, I can see him being interested in that, just because it’s the closest to monsters this world has, and playing it makes him think of Shizun. It’s really sad that Shizun will never get to have fun with this, Shizun loves monsters so much he would probably love the idea of a world where monsters and humans are friends and work together like this...

Important question: Does Binghe name any of his pokemon after people he knows?

Important answer: Yes, he’s got a pikachu named Ming-fan (because round cheeks and also so he can boss shixiong around), a gyarados called Ning YingYing (starts out kinda useless but then gets awesome), and naturally he’s got a gardevoir named Qingqiu (because it’s graceful, elegant, and powerful, and it’s even got the right colour scheme).

Binghe absolutely ‘borrows’ a few pokemon designs to use as patterns when he gets home, just saying they’re pretend creatures from stories in the place he ended up when he fell in the Abyss. And since he has that legendary Protagonist Genius IQ(tm), he can remember a lot of pokemon designs and info. No reason in not throwing his martial siblings a few harmless crumbs, not like anyone will know what he’s talking about anyway.

He does cave a bit and make Shizun a pillow with a turtwig on it, though, so he can at least fantasize about a world where Shizun got to play such a marvelous game. ...and also fantasize about how graceful and regal Shizun would look riding on the back of a torterra, so refined, so dignified, truly the very best, like no one ever was...

(Meanwhile Shen Yuan manages to maintain his face exactly long enough to thank Binghe and take the pillow back to his bedroom, then get Very Emotional because he chose tortwig as his starter when he played Platinum and now he’s having feelings, ugh, right in the millennial Pokemon nostalgia-!!

After which it’s time to visit An Ding again, because Binghe knows about Pokemon, should we be panicking, wait, crap, Airplane what if it’s not the real Binghe-?!?)

And for anyone wondering if I’m going to focus entirely on Pokemon, no worries. Binghe whips out his digi-trump card the first time the Baizhan disciples come over to start teasing Qing Jing about their cutesy new fad, how dumb can you- oh. Oh this other style is actually kinda cool. Yes we kinda would like to hear about the digi-destined, please. (The original anime was on reruns Binghe’s second year in the Way of the Househusband universe, and he got extremely emotionally invested. And is also taking full advantage of the fact that he’s the only source of knowledge on it to make any edits to the story he wants to.)

A side effect of Binghe getting along with his fellow disciples like this is that he officially gets cleared to go on a couple missions if he wants to. This turns out to have been something of a mistake, because his absolute first action is to go retrieve the Invulnerable Shaded Visor of the Eccentric Sage and return very proud of himself and 20% less genre-appropriate.

Because you’re completely right, he would, his apron now officially has a cute li’l chibi version of a Thousand Death Poisonous Viper Crane that he designed and appliqued himself, because he remembers a particularly passionate lesson Shizun gave on them back when he was a disciple and also it was the first one he thought of that would look both good and recognizable in chibi style!

Not to mention, you know this is something that’s going to instantly catch on at least with other disciples of Qing Jing. And, given that he’s four years behind his former classmates, that means its the younger, newer disciples that arrived while he was gone who get the most exposure to it at first, since he’s taking classes with them to catch up on his cultivation. Because it’s too cute to picture Binghe with a group of shimeis and shidis who are all nervous around him but also curious of their mysterious returned shixiong who everyone thought was dead, but who’s turned out to be alive and also a half-demon. And he’s tall and handsome and uses strange words and knows all these songs no one’s ever heard of before, and he doesn’t act anything like they’ve been told demons are like, but he’s got his forehead mark and his eyes are red and his ears and teeth are a little pointy, so he’s obviously a demon, but Ming-fan shixiong and Ning shijie both seem excited to have him back, so maybe it’s okay…

Binghe gets the surprise of his life when one of his shidis timidly comes up to him after an art class and asks shixiong’s critique on a design he’s working on for a new qiankun pouch - he’s been working on it for days, but he can’t get it as cute as shixiong’s design.

Binghe: (still pretty new back and, for all his bluster, feeling very insecure about his place on Qing Jing Peak, and also having 0% experience being a shixiong and therefore about to turn down the request)

Binghe’s System: New quest available, A Good Role Model! Does Host accept?
