how much of fandom would be solved when people realize that some villains just. dont care. theyre doing things for their benefit but dont inherently wish harm upon others, they just also dont really care how many will be harmed in their desire to achieve their goal
#thats my take on the whole 'emet-selch good/evil' debate anyway#he didnt create the empires because he wanted to create empires he created the empires#because he knew that these empires would be easily accessible catalysts for rejoinings#he didnt believe in what he was doing as the emperor but he also didnt really feel any remorse for it#'hes not that bad' 'hes all evil' HES WHATEVER HE NEEDS TO BE TO ACHIEVE HIS GOAL.#this also extends into my reading of zenos (runs in the family i guess)#but hes a whole other can of worms#emet-selch's evil deeds were large scale (building empires) while most of what zenos pulls is... small??#we dont see emet-selch going after major characters specifically aside from the one bit with raha#zenos goes to harass ur friends. the whole thing with zero. hes specifically and continuously hurt people near you#what did solus do. he died. he was the emperor & never showed up physically its a far more difficult connection to make & remember#im rambling but im trying to get to a point here. rambles are necessary#zenos doesnt have a sense of morality emet-selch does but he doesnt think it applies to the sundered or something#i dont KNOW im tired does any of this make sense#i can do character readings guys i swear im more than a thirstpost machine#i really like morality in fiction i think thats what drew me to the garleans so much. anyway
