Travel Visas
Travel Visas: Everything You Need to Know
If you’re planning a trip abroad, one of the most important things you need to consider is obtaining a travel visa. A travel visa is a document issued by a country’s government that grants permission for a foreign traveler to enter and stay in that country for a specified period. Here’s everything you need to know about travel visas.
Types of Travel Visas
There are several types of travel visas, and the one you need will depend on the purpose of your trip. Here are some of the most common types of travel visas:
Tourist Visa: This type of visa is issued for travelers who plan to visit a foreign country for leisure or vacation purposes.
Business Visa: This type of visa is issued for travelers who are going to a foreign country for business purposes, such as attending a conference, meeting with clients, or negotiating a contract.
Student Visa: This type of visa is issued for travelers who plan to study in a foreign country, either for a short-term language course or a full degree program.
Work Visa: This type of visa is issued for travelers who have been offered a job in a foreign country and plan to work there for a specified period.
Transit Visa: This type of visa is issued for travelers who are passing through a foreign country on their way to another destination.
How to Obtain a Travel Visa
The process for obtaining a travel visa varies by country and can be time-consuming, so it’s important to start the process well in advance of your trip. Here are the general steps you’ll need to follow to obtain a travel visa:
Check the visa requirements for the country you plan to visit: You can find this information on the website of the country’s embassy or consulate. Make sure you understand the requirements and deadlines for applying for a visa.
Gather the required documents: Typically, you’ll need to provide a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the end of your planned stay, as well as a completed visa application form, a passport-sized photo, and any other documents required by the country you plan to visit.
Submit your application: You’ll need to submit your application and all required documents to the embassy or consulate of the country you plan to visit. This may require an in-person visit or can be done by mail or online.
Wait for processing: The processing time for a travel visa varies by country and can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks.
Receive your visa: If your application is approved, you’ll receive a visa that outlines the terms of your stay in the foreign country.
Tips for Obtaining a Travel Visa
Obtaining a travel visa can be a complex and stressful process, but there are some things you can do to make it easier:
Start the process early: Give yourself plenty of time to research the visa requirements and gather the required documents. Applying for a visa at the last minute can be risky and may result in your visa not being approved in time for your trip.
Be honest on your application: Providing false information on your visa application can result in your application being denied or your visa being revoked once you arrive in the foreign country.
Follow the instructions carefully: Make sure you understand the requirements for applying for a visa and follow the instructions carefully. Failure to do so can result in your application being denied.
Be prepared for an interview: Some countries require an in-person interview as part of the visa application process. Be prepared to answer questions about the purpose of your trip, your travel plans, and your financial situation.
Conclusion
Obtaining a travel visa is an important part of planning any international trip. Make sure you understand the visa requirements for the country you plan to visit, gather all the necessary documents, and submit your application well in advance to ensure that you receive your visa in time for your trip. By following these tips and being prepared, you can make the process of obtaining a travel visa as smooth and stress-free as possible.
It’s also important to note that some countries have reciprocal visa agreements, meaning that citizens of certain countries may be exempt from obtaining a visa for certain lengths of stay. For example, citizens of the United States may not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days in countries such as Canada, Mexico, and many European countries. However, it’s important to check the specific requirements for your destination country to ensure that you have the necessary documentation.
In addition, it’s important to note that travel restrictions and visa requirements may change frequently, especially in light of global events such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Make sure you stay up to date on any changes to visa requirements and travel restrictions for your destination country.
In conclusion, obtaining a travel visa may seem daunting, but with proper planning and preparation, it can be a straightforward process. By understanding the requirements for your destination country and following the necessary steps, you can obtain a travel visa and enjoy a stress-free trip abroad.

Sunsets and footballers (Part 14)
Lucy Bronze x Reader (14)
Masterlist (other parts here)
(**Been waiting a while to introduce this new character... **)
Lucy was gripping the bridge of her nose between her forefinger and thumb, her eyes closed, jaw twitching. Katie reached across the table to touch her but stopped at YFN shaking her head. “No,” she said gently. “Just… give her some time to process.”
Katie began looking around for the stalker.
“What are you going to do?” Jordan asked, her eyes also wandering. They all knew they were safe together.
“Well it says they want to see me within 48 hours.. so I’ll prepare tonight and go in tomorrow. I’ll give them all my information and explain. I have proof of them stalking me and I’ve done nothing wrong.. it’s not like I’m from a threatening country. Australia is part of the Commonwealth so everything should be okay..”
Lucy stood and left, scanning around for the stalkers as she waded through the crowded area, though always keeping YFN in sight.
“What time are you leaving?” YFN asked Jordan.
“Tomorrow morning. I’m giving myself a day for the drive and to settle back in before training starts again. When are you coming?”
YFN looked around to see Lucy talking to someone who looked like a Manager. “I’m not sure.. Luce is here for another week but I think she wants to see her family in Manchester.. so maybe we’ll be staying there for a few days and then with you for a few before she leaves?”
“Sounds right, I think Luce wants to get you settled in with me before she goes.” Jordan cringed as realised what she’d said and gave a sheepish look to YFN who rolled her eyes. Of course Lucy spoken to Jordan about staying with her in Birmingham. She looked over at Lucy who was heading back to them, her heart melting even more.
“If you’re still hanging around with your Visa thing, you should come watch us train,” Caitlin said.
“Plus, aren’t you a writer?” Katie asked. “They’re always lookin’ fer writers for sports columns but they can never find good ones. They’re always so borin’ and invasive so none of the players want ta open up to them. But we all already know you..”
Lucy sat back down as YFN mulled it over. “Sports column?” Lucy asked gruffly.
“Just an idea.” Katie shrugged. “It’d be great to do interviews where we know the person and know they aren’t going ta just make up a story. We always have to be so careful with the media trainin’ and such.”
“It’s… it’s a really good idea. I love it, actually. It would be great if it were across all of the leagues..” Her pinky reached out for Lucy, testing the waters, and Lucy hooked her pinky around it. Their little way of communicating.
“I think they’d want you to cover as much as possible." Caitlin said. “Especially if lots of players know you. I’ll send you the details of the company. They just can’t find anyone to cover one league let alone all of them. It’ll be a lot of work but if you’re keen..”
YFN nodded. “I’ll be interested but… maybe don’t send me anything yet. My Visa… I’m not allowed to work. And tomorrow I guarantee they’ll go through my phone and messages with a fine-toothed-comb so if it all goes well then I’ll ask them about the possibility of changing to a working visa… and also having to travel across Europe and what those entry requirements are.”
“Okay… we may already have chatted to the company…”
“What?!”
“It’s okay! It’s nothing official, we didn’t give them your name, we just told them about you and that you used to write a column and that you’re here now and have made a lot of friends with the players..”
“Wow, is it really that bad for you guys with media?”
They all nodded.
“The amount of media training we’ve been through is ridiculous.” Jordan said. “And then we stress about what parts they’re going to use and what they’re going to cut! So if we have someone we can trust then it takes all of that stress away.”
“Okay…. Okay.. I’ll think about it and see how tomorrow goes. If they barely agree to accept my current Visa though, I won’t ask them..”
“That’s fair enough, it was just an idea,” Jordan shrugged and YFN chuckled at that. “Wait.. you’ve all spoken about this?” She thought it was just Katie and Caitlin.
“Of course mate!” She slapped a hand to her shoulder. “We don’t want you going anywhere.”
YFN’s heart filled just a little more as she smiled at her friend. “Birmingham is going to be so much fun.”
“Ohhh yes.” She leant around YFN to look at Lucy. “Any news?”
Lucy shook her head. “No one saw them and they’re not here now. I want us to get out of here though.” She looked at YFN, her protective green eyes locking with hers from behind her clear framed glasses. “I want us to get you out of that hotel, and I don’t want us to be in public longer than we have to.”
“Yeah we’re goin’ ta leave ya’s to it. I’m feeling weird just waitin’ for someone to put a bag over my head.” Katie pushed her sunglasses back up her nose, looking around like she wanted a fight.
“I can help you pack if you need?” Jordan suggested.
“Oh yeah, Dory! You can come over if you want? I’d love to spend some time with you before you leave tomorrow..” YFN looked over her shoulder at Lucy who nodded at her friend, looking a little on edge. “It’s settled. Come with us.” YFN smiled and took Jordan’s hand.
They said their goodbyes and hugged. YFN again thanked Katie and Caitlin for last night, checking that Katie’s hand was okay after trying to break the window of the car. They had a good giggle at that. She promised to get back to them about the strangely vague position of interviewing players, and they both again showed their enthusiasm.
Lucy practically bodyguarded YFN the entire way to the car where YFN encouraged Jordan to sit in the front. She sat behind Lucy who had one of her arms behind her, fingers tangled with YFN’s. She liked needy Lucy. She liked all of the Lucy’s to be honest.
They went to YFN’s hotel and Lucy spoke to the staff to check her out early while Jordan and YFN packed. Somehow, Lucy was able to get her a refund for the nights she didn’t stay, and then they were in Lucy’s car and headed to her London home.
YFN felt strange unpacking. She was technically moving in with her partner… whom she hadn’t known for long.. who also lived in Spain. She felt a little like she was pushing herself onto Lucy too fast, but at the same time, all of it was at Lucy's request. Her insistence. And, it had been one of her three demands.
Jordan and YFN spent time together unpacking, researching and bantering while Lucy was on the phone, pacing. She was talking to lawyers, discussing Visa’s and restraining orders. She was frustrated but would pause past YFN often to touch her, give her a kiss wherever she could reach, or just wave from the patio. She didn’t like the idea that she was putting so much extra stress on Lucy when she should have been resting and recovering her knee, but she also knew that this was Lucy’s choice. She was so sexy the way she took care of things. YFN watched her pace the patio, talking on the phone with her AirPods and expressing so much with her hands, the artery in her neck becoming more prominent when she got more frustrated demanding things. The efforts that woman was going through just to keep her safe and in the country was more than anyone had ever done for her in her life.
She spoke to Jordan about Leah who’d dropped the drunk trio home last night, and who’d apparently dropped Jordan home last.
Jordan sighed. “Leah tried talking to me.. she asked how I was doing and how things are at Villa but I just wasn’t in a state to talk. I couldn’t get out of my head the idea of people following you and Luce…”
“So you pretty much blew her off..?”
“Yeah.. pretty much. I didn’t have the capacity to talk. She left me. She didn’t even give me a reason, she just said that she changed and I hadn’t and… and she left. I tried to talk to her, you know I tried, but in the end I left my club for her. The club I spent most of my career at.” She was getting teary eyed and YFN moved next to her and wrapped her arms around her. Jordan leaned into her and sobbed a little.
“You still love her,” YFN said softly. Jordan nodded against her. “Oh Dory..”
She leant over to get some tissues and blew into them. “I can’t just let her back into my life after that. She… she can’t just do that. I don’t even know if she misses me as a friend or as a girlfriend but she lost both.”
“I… I think it’s both.”
Jordan lifted her head to look at her. She continued. “The way she looked at you and spoke about you when you weren’t watching.. especially with that girl at the bar. And she thought we were together…”
She could see the thoughts running behind Jordan’s eyes before she shook her head. “No, she doesn’t get that from me anymore. She did this. She made this mess.”
“She did, she absolutely did. Let’s just bench it for now and take it as it comes, okay? I’m right here for whatever you need.”
“I’m so happy you’re coming to Birmingham,” Jordan said with a tremble in her voice.
“Me too, mate. Me too. We’re going to have so much fun!”
Jordan’s mood picked up as they changed topics and kept researching. They found a lot of good news and information that had them positive about the outcome the next day.
“Oh this looks promising,” Jordan said. “It’s talking about a character reference who’s known you for at least ten years? Not related to you though..”
YFN laughed. “Ohh I have just the person.” She took her phone out and scrolled through her contacts. “Ridley. We grew up together.”
“I thought you didn’t have a best, best friend?”
“She’s basically family and… an acquired taste.” She laughed again. “God, I love her. We go through periods of not talking for 6 months and then talking every day, but that’s just us. She’s the closest person I have from Australia besides my nan. She actually works in Spain, it was one of the reasons I was going to visit, to see her!”
She called her up and a drunk Ridley answered, music blasting in the background. “Hey baby Blue, what’s doing?”
“Hey Riddles, you busy?”
“Nah, never too busy for you. When are you coming to Greece?”
“Are you still partying?”
“You know it baby! Way too many hot Europeans here.” She started talking to someone near her. ‘In a minute, love, just get us some more drinks.’
YFN laughed. “I can call back…”
“Bullshit, they can wait. What’s up?” She changed to Facetime, and it was exactly what it sounded like. Some sort of party at night in Greece, people crowded around. She had a bottle in one hand and some colour sunglasses on which she look like she stole, covered in several beaded and glow in the dark necklaces.
“Having a good night?”
“You know me mate - always.” She said with a grin as someone bumped into her. ‘Watch it!’ She yelled at them.
‘Doesn’t cost anything to be kind!’
‘Costs me my fucking sanity, move your big ass feet away from me.’
She turned back to the phone and took the cap off the bottle with her teeth, spitting it and taking a swig. “I’m just about to throw hands, Blue, I swear.”
YFN and Jordan laughed. “Blue?” Jordan asked.
Before YFN could answer, Ridley noticed her and got closer to the screen with a smirk. “Oh, hey there Jordan Nobbs, you’re looking sexy tonight.”
YFN groaned. “She flirts with everyone, don't be surprised.”
Jordan laughed and answered politely. “Hey mate, nice to meet you! Where was our invite?”
“Oh baby, you’re free to join me aaanytime.”
Jordan’s mouth dropped and YFN groaned, knowing this would happen. “Anyways! Riddles, you know the stalker issue?”
“Oh yeah, you need me to come sort them out?”
“Oh, Lucy’s all over that. No, they put a complaint in about my Visa so I’m headed to the embassy tomorrow. I need a character reference who’s known me at least ten years-”
“-say no more, baby Blue, I’ve got you.” The girl reappeared and was grabbing at Ridley’s face, kissing her cheek. Ridley pulled away, her attention still on her close friend.
“…Yes… but will you be awake tomorrow around 10am your time?”
She hummed and then agreed to set her alarm. Anyone who didn’t know her would think she wasn’t reliable for this, but she knew Ridley and knew she could trust her with anything, anytime. She was incredibly loyal, and the distance between Spain and Australia had meant they’d spoken less which wasn’t what she’d ever wanted with their relationship. But regardless, they were always the type of friends who could call each other up after 6 months and everything was the exact same between them.
Ridley was still flirting with Jordan when the girl from earlier again tried to drag her off the call. Jordan was flirting back, enjoying the attention and YFN made sure to end the call before she saw the girl’s tongue down her throat.
“An acquired taste, I told you. She’s one of my favourite people though. She’s basically family to me.” She laughed.
YFN and Jordan made them dinner while Lucy was still off and on the phone. They ate and then Lucy took Jordan home with hugs and promises that they’d see each other soon in Birmingham. YFN ‘requested’ a shirt with Jordan’s name and number on it. She wanted to wear it to her first Villa game. Jordan was excited that she wanted to wear her shirt, and promised to sign it for her.
Lucy returned to the dishes done, and a squeaky clean YFN who was ready for bed. She looked tired and threw her AirPods and phone onto the couch before taking YFN in her arms. She was so warm and soft and felt like… home. Home had never been place to Lucy. It had always been either her family or wherever she made it with a club. She and YFN hadn’t known each other long but the best way to describe their relationship was that she’d always felt like home to Lucy. For the first time in her life, home felt like a person. The thought of Spain in the back of her mind was a dark thought that she tried to keep back there. She groaned and hugged her little Australian tighter.
“Luce?” She said softly. Lucy pulled back and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “Thank you for today. Thank you for looking after me… I know it’s been a lot to deal with.”
Lucy’s eyebrows furrowed. “This is all on me, all this happening has been because of me and I’m so sorry. You shouldn’t have to deal with any of this. I just….” She paused as she tried to keep her emotions together. “… I really don’t want to lose you.” Her voice was husky as her emotions seeped through.
YFN took her face in her hands. “Luce, I’m not going anywhere. You’re stuck with me, as long as you want me. I need you to know that.”
She was right, Lucy did need those words. A tear slipped out and YFN wiped it away from under her glasses.
“I still want our dates though, regardless of what happens. I’ve planned one for us tomorrow after the… you know. And then the next date-”
“-is all me.” Lucy cut off. “I’ll plan the third.”
“Okay.. but I need to talk to you about… amending one of the deals we made.”
Lucy’s head tilted in question.
“We’re not sure what’s going to happen. We’re not sure what tomorrow will bring. I want to spend every night with you like it’s our last because we deserve that. Regardless of if I’m sent away tomorrow, or in a week, or when you go to Spain…”
As if to prove her point, she pulled Lucy closer, walking backwards until her back was against the wall, Lucy pressed up against her. Lucy couldn’t resist leaning down to kiss her. It was soft and gentle, full of emotion. YFN’s hand found its way to the back of her head and tucked itself into the strands of dark brown hair, using that as leverage to be able to tilt her head and control the kiss a little. They let themselves enjoy it until they could feel each other getting excited, their bodies beginning to move like they wanted more. Lucy pulled back unwillingly, their mouths still close.
“Little one, are you asking me for sex?” She couldn’t help the soft chuckle building up in her throat.
YFN looked up at Lucy a little guilty, her lips pressed together, dimple on full display. “I want all of you. I don’t want to have to wait.”
“Are you… okay after last night?”
She nodded. “That’s part of it, I think. I feel like I lost control of myself at the bar, and I just need… I need to feel like I’m in control of my body again. This is my life, these are my choices, and no one can take them away. And I’ll always choose you..”
Her palms were flat on Lucy’s abs, her body shaking as she rocked, feeling the strap slide in and out with a silky wetness that only Lucy could make her body produce. Lucy’s hands were on her hips, guiding her as she fucked herself while Lucy looked up at her like she was Aphrodite herself. YFN leant forward over Lucy and started taking the strap that way, moaning at the different angle, the wet fucking sound changing notes. Lucy was caught by surprise at the new angle she took so deep and needily. Her rhythm was so ruthless and the new position felt so good on her clit that Lucy knew she’d orgasm soon. Her hands tightened on her hips, her own hips thrusting up to meet hers. Lucy’s back arched and her head bowed back.
“Oh…ffffuck. That’s th…the spot. Fuck. I can’t… I can’t keep.. God I’m going to come.”
This only encouraged YFN who’s pace increased slightly, her hands either side of her head, looking down at her whimpering Lucy. She took her right to the edge, knowing just how well the strap was riding her clit and just before she came, she sat back upright and changed her approach. Lucy came back to life, whimpering at the orgasm she was just denied.
“Little one… I… I was…”
“I know,” YFN panted, her hands again on Lucy’s abs as she rode her. “I know.. just let me get a little closer first and we can finish it together, Luce… argh… just…fuck…just give me a minute. It’ll feel so much better n…now that you’re frustrated.”
Lucy’s hands on her hips encouraged her some more, almost fully picking her up and slamming her back down again. Her hips eagerly thrusted upwards, as deep as she could go. Her little Australian was riding her so well and god, she was a sight. Hair down and well messed by Lucy’s hands during their sex, mouth still wet from the taste of Lucy, her lips swollen and bruised. Her tits were bouncing and excited, nipples out and well sucked. Lucy pulled herself up and grabbed a nipple in her mouth, eagerly sucking the sensitive bud. YFN whimpered and grabbed her hair, holding her head to her tit while she sucked. And god, she sucked. And licked. And nibbled. When she was finished with the first, she moved onto the second and when YFN couldn’t bare it any longer, she pulled Lucy’s head back, making her groan in annoyance as her lips were forced to part with her nipple with a wet popping sound. YFN’s mouth found Lucy’s jaw and with one hand in her hair, she pulled back to give her access to that sharp jawline and strong neck. She nibbled and kissed along those areas that took up so much of her daily thoughts all the while continuously riding her in desperation and need. She knew Lucy wasn’t used to being in a situation like this, but her Englishwoman was taking it so well. Her hands moved from her hips to slide up YFN’s back, pressing her close as she moaned at the feel of her mouth on her throat. Their panting and moaning and swearing were filling the room along with the humidity from their sweaty bodies sliding against each other.
It was taking YFN a little longer than usual being her fifth orgasm of the night, but god, she was getting there. Her rhythm increased to more of a bounce, encouraged by Lucy’s thrusts upwards meeting hers.
“Fuck, you’re doing so well. You look so good, my love.” YFN pulled her mouth away from her neck and looked down at Lucy with hooded eyes. It’s the first time Lucy had ever called her that. She pushed Lucy onto her back again and pressed her hands into her tense abs to help her slide up and down the strap with a depth that she just couldn’t get any other way. The sound of fucking resonated the room, drowned out by their gasps and moans and whimpers. She could feel her wet excitement dripping down the insides of her thighs and undoubtably coating Lucy also. As she was about to come, she leant forwards again to her previous position, hands either side of Lucy’s head and she rode her until Lucy was so wound up that she couldn’t breath.
“Fuck….fuck…fuck…little one…y…yes… oh God….” Lucy had never not been in control of her orgasm and she didn’t realise, but it just made it so much more intense.
YFN leant down and swallowed her moans with her mouth, their tongues meeting. “Come with me, Luce…. Come… come with me…”
They came so hard and tight that they could barely move. A cry ripped from Lucy’s throat and YFN could barely continue to ride the strap as she was so clenched around it. Lucy shoved her up and down on it, needing that bit of friction on her clit to drag out her orgasm, knowing that YFN needed the same. They rocked until they came down, their movements slowing and relaxing.
YFN wasn’t an athlete like Lucy, but she’d just put in a hell of a workout. Her body was tingly and drained from her fifth orgasm, and she just wanted Lucy to hold her and kiss her to sleep. She managed to lift herself up off the strap and Lucy unharnessed, throwing it to the floor and pulling YFN down onto her. YFN laid her full body weight on her, head in her neck.
“You did so good, little one. So, so good.”
“I… I really like you Luce. My body just wants you again and again and it scares me how much I want you. Not just sex… I want you. All of you. Grumpy, happy, protective... sleepy.” She admitted huskily with a yawn into Lucy’s neck, and Lucy wondered if she were sleep talking.
Lucy hummed happily, her fingers tracing up and down her spine, finding those little back dimples at the bottom. “However much you want me, just know, I want you more. I’ll always keep you safe. I’ll always be right here.”
She knew she was speaking to herself as YFN was already asleep, her breathing had changed and her body was fully relaxed onto her. She pressed a kiss to her forehead and was similarly out like a light.

I’m confused. Why would he get deported? He’s married to (presumably) a US citizen already. Not sure if I missed something?
Well, the simplest explanation is that everyone who immigrates/emigrates to the US has to fill out paperwork to stay here. Doesn't matter who you are, who your family is, who you're married to, where you're from, what money you have. Everyone fills out the paperwork.
Being married to a US citizen only affects the type of visa (Spouse of US Citizen) you get and which application (Form I-130, the Petition for Alien Relative) your sponsor fills out to start the process.
The longer/more detailed explanation of the process, and the background for the lawsuit about Harry's visa application, is this:
(Apologies for how small the text is. I didn't want it to be a multi-page thing.) I'll describe it below the jump.
But essentially, Harry's process to become a legal permanent resident through his marriage to a US citizen is:
Sponsor/Meghan submits Form I-130 to the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), requesting approval to bring her spouse to live with her in the US.
USCIS reviews the form and will approve (left green circle) or deny (left red circle) the application. If they deny it, that ends the process. They can try again later. If they approve it, then:
Sponsor/Meghan pays a bunch of fees and a visa case is opened.
(The big giant square text) More paperwork and documents are submitted. Meghan and Harry do this together. (I'll explain this in a bit.)
The Spouse/Harry has his immigration interview.
USCIS will review the visa case file and make a decision on whether to approve or deny the visa request. If they deny the visa, then depending on the justification for denial, the Spouse/Harry may request a waiver or he can submit additional documentation for further consideration. If the visa is approved, then the Spouse/Harry is given approval to travel to the US and once he's here, he gets permanent residency - aka "the green card."
Now, getting back to the giant text block and the "more paperwork" requirement. In this phase of the process for a spousal visa, the couple must provide:
An affadavit of support from the Sponsor/Meghan (this basically says that she has enough income to support Harry and they won't need government assistance)
Supporting financial documents (probably tax declarations)
Harry's passport
Additional photographs of Harry
Form DS-260, the Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application from Harry (this is Harry's application for residency)
Harry's birth certificate
Their marriage certificate
Harry's military records (the US requires anyone with military service in any country to submit)
Harry's police certificate (information about whether he has been arrested or charged with crimes/what kinds)
Harry's Medical Examination form (which sometimes is done after the interview)
Form DS-260 is the big one. It basically asks the immigrant (Harry, in this case) about everything in his life: his childhood, his work history, his social media accounts, where he's lived, his family of origin, his children, previous travel to the US, medical and health details (including history of substance abuse. communicable diseases, and vaccination record), criminal history, security and background details, and social security.
If you're found to have lied about anything on this form - for instance, something pops on the background check that isn't disclosed or your answers in the interview are inconsistent with what's reported on the form or your social media tells a totally different story - it's grounds for your application to be denied and, if you're already here in the US, you to be deported.
This is what the DHS/Homeland Security lawsuit is about. The DS-260 has a question about drug use. The Heritage Foundation (the plaintiff in the case) is suing DHS to find out what Harry reported about his drug use on the form and in his medical history because historically, the US does not allow people with drug addictions or past drug use into the country. After Harry's admissions in Spare that he's basically a functioning addict, the Heritage Foundation assumed that Harry said "no" on the drug use question (which would be a lie) and they want to find out if he was given special treatment because of being Queen Elizabeth's grandson. (I also suspect the Heritage Foundation wants to find out if Harry has a regular passport or is traveling/living in the US on a diplomatic passport as well.)
So going back to your original question, yes, Harry can still be deported even if he is the spouse of a US citizen and even if he is a permanent resident. All the marriage to a US citizen means is what forms get filled out and what supporting documentation is submitted. That's all; there aren't any other protections involved in being married to a US citizen.
But there is a benefit to immigrating via a "green card marriage" - if you come to the US on any other kind of visa, the requirements are much stricter and the waiting period for eligibility can sometimes take much longer. Particularly on the latter, the US actually has requirements on how many people per country can immigrate/travel in a given a year, even if you're sponsored by a business or a friend or a family member (eg a brother or uncle). So some people end up waiting years to move to the US; that's just the demand on the system. But with a "green card marriage," you get to jump most of the queues and your waiting period for eligibility disappears in an instant. You can literally begin your application to move to the US the day you get engaged to a US citizen or the day you get married.
But you still have to go through all the hoops and fill out all the paperwork anyway. No way around that. No matter who your grandmother is.
Now for the part that makes all of this even more complicated: COVID.
A lot of rules government-wide were relaxed because of the COVID national emergency. One of the areas in which a lot of rules, standards, and regulations were relaxed is immigration, which caused an enormous backlog of paperwork and cases. Why? Because we're the goverment, y'all, and we move at slower-than-glacial-pace. In March 2020, we still processed a million things by hand on actual physical paper. (Remember, I'm a fed. I've got horror stories for days about this.) So part of the issue with everyone going home is that the paperwork didn't come home with us. It just kept stacking up and stacking up and stacking up in the office because we were still using paper systems and there hadn't been enough time to automate processes or digitize systems when we were ordered to work from home on March 16th. (Particularly in the DC area, talks/plans to send us all home started literally the week before, on March 9th. That was zero time to do anything but scale up the VPN and give everyone a laptop so whole entire agencies can work from home - because remember, before March 2020, it wasn't a thing for us in government to work from home.) So in June/July 2020 when the local stay-at-home orders were finally lifted, we all went back to the office to huge backlogs of paperwork and casework. Backlogs that were still growing by the day, and backlogs that needed to be handled quickly. As a result, there were a lot of decisions made to just "rubber-stamp" everything as quickly as possible. In DHS/USCIS, that meant citizenship and visa applications weren't as closely reviewed as they may have been in the past because the bosses were telling us "just get it done" because the Trump Administration was breathing down everyone's necks to deliver results that they could use in his re-election campaign.
So there's speculation now that Harry's visa/immigration application is one of those cases that got "rubber stamped" to get through the backlog. And part of that speculation is an attempt to understand when exactly did the visa paperwork get processed and whether there was undue special treatment in doing so. Was he part of the backlog that was grandfathered/rubber-stamped into the US? Or was his application processed before that?
Because if his application was processed before he moved here in March 2020, well, then the Sussexes aren't telling the truth about where they lived or what they were doing. Reason being that typically on a spousal visa, you usually can't already be living here in the US when you apply for it. You apply from your home country and come to the US only once your visa request has been granted.
So did the Sussexes apply for Harry's visa when they were living in Canada, starting the process as early as November 2019 when the BRF forced them into a vacation and panicking in February 2020 when COVID started closing borders? In that case, did the Sussexes apply diplomatic pressure to expedite DHS's review of Harry's case so they could be in the US before borders closed? Or did they say "screw it" and moved to the US without waiting for a decision and then applied diplomatic pressure to have Harry's case approved retroactively?
Or did the Sussexes apply for Harry's visa much earlier, when they were still living in the UK/working as full-time royals? And if that's the case, then did they really go to Canada like they said they did, or did they just hide out in the US for a bit so Harry could pick up his green card, and then they traveled to Vancouver/Canada for New Year's?
Or - perhaps the more tinhatty scenario - did the Sussexes apply for Harry's visa right after the marriage, at the earliest opportunity Meghan could've filed the paperwork? In which case, their secret honeymoon could really potentially have been a trip to the US so Harry could claim his green card.
Option 3 is incredibly farfetched. We know the Sussexes can't keep their stories straight so I feel like if that's what had actually happened, there would've been holes poked into their "fleeing to Canada" narrative already.
I probably lean towards Option 1 (they exploited COVID to move here) but Option 2 is pretty plausible too.
Anyway, that's a ton more than you/anon probably expected. (It's a whole lot more than I expected to write about too.) But hopefully this clears up some confusion about what exactly is happening with Harry's immigration status, why it's possible he can still be deported, and sheds a little light on the Homeland Security lawsuit.
Edit: added some clarification (see bolded part under the flowchart)

Canadians planning to visit Europe next year will have to pay for a travel authorization — not a visa — as the European Union looks to strengthen its border security measures.
Starting in 2024, Canadian passport holders will be required to apply online for the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) if they plan to stay in any of these 30 European countries for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
Currently, Canadian citizens can enter Europe without any travel permit or visa and stay for up to three months.
However, if their stay exceeds 90 days, a visa is required.
From next year, Canadian travellers will have to fill out a form with their personal information, travel document details, level of education and current occupation, details about the intended stay, as well as any criminal convictions. [...]

Whats happened is terrifying and if you feel like you need to leave the US and can here is a list of countries you can stay in without a visa while you get everything sorted out. Feel free to correct or add any information or resources. Note that Barbados only allows visa free entry for six months for citizens of countries within the Commonwealth of Nations which the US never joined.
The Marshall Islands - You can stay as long as you like with a US passport
Georgia - One year
Bermuda - Six months - Need a ticket for return or onward travel, to stay longer or work, study, travel for business or other reasons, you must meet the Bermudian government's entry requirements
Canada - Six months with a US passport
Mexico - 180 days. You'll receive a visa on arrival, authorities advise to avoid being detained or deported, you must complete an online Multiple Immigration Form (FMM) and obtain a QR code
Fiji - Four months - Authorities will issue a visa when you arrive, to get a visa on arrival, you must show proof of booked accommodation and a return ticket
St. Lucia - Six weeks - Must hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond your date of country exit and with one blank visa page
If you want to move to Europe and move freely throughout certain countries then look into moving to one of the countries in The Schengen Area
Note: The Australian government is terrible with immigrants and will take a long time to get a visa here even if you hold a US passport (the wife one of my dads colleagues had to wait 10 years) there probably success stories but we are also fucked down here

If I were to use my US tourism visa to go work in the country for three months (I can stay up to six but I don’t want to push it), what would be the easiest job to get into, aka a job that don’t require any paperwork? I know about kitchen staff positions, I actually have a couple of friends doing that right now.
As of late I’ve been considering that plan, bunk with a friend to spend low on rent, live with the bare minimum, and work my ass off so I can save up as much as I can, all so I can take that money back and use it for my wedding, furniture for my house and even a post graduate degree.
I need to do some more research, after all, I don’t want to completely fuck over my travel plans for later in life by getting my visa voided (apparently it’s for life if they catch you doing that), but man, I cannot keep living like I am now.

Hi there! I've been following your comics for a while and they're very educational imo ^_^ it's helped give me thoughts about aro/ace concepts....
Um, I wanted to ask about how you and your partner handle your long distance (QPR) relationship? I know you two are from two countries that are pretty separate. That must get tough sometimes--I know many people find it hard. How do you two stay connected and easily very close without getting lonely or "out of it"? Do you think it'd apply to romantic ones too?
-- the crunchy fish stick! (yum, but don't eat me pls lol also yes I put that there in case I wanna follow up on this)
Hey crunchy fish stick!^^ And sorry for the late reply TwT
I've already answered a similar question like this before so I'll link it here in case it provides some insights, but to give the jist of it :
Maybe it being platonic and sexless might be helping our case (I have no idea how much people who like sex and romance actually miss physically being with the person) but whether it does or not, I think that those things always depend on everyone's individual personalities, experiences and what they want in life. Due to my past experiences I've grown up biased towards the thought that close = scary and far away = good, sincere and trustworthy, so it probably doesn't affect me as much as other people. That and the fact that I could also NOT be in a QPR at the moment and be perfectly fine. When it happened to me, I didn't miss it before it happened. It was just all nice good luck all around and I'm extra happy now that it's there, but it's a bonus in my life, not a requirement.
That said, we also have a fairly strict-ish routine we commit to to keep each other posted, and we'd visit each other every year whenever we could, which also helps a whole bunch. And we get the comfort that the other exists out of it, no matter where we are. And we get words out of it, we get connection out of it. Just because we're not physically together doesn't mean we can't connect and communicate at this day and age, heck, that's how we got to KNOW each other to begin with.
And all of that said tho, the early 2020-late 2021 travel ban that made it extremely hard an expensive for me to visit them (because I had to spend 2 weeks in another country before I even could) was one of the biggest hardships in my life; and when we're not together physically we miss not being able to hug or hold hands or no; and ultimately, y'know, knock on wood, we won't be long-distance for that much longer since we're in the process of trying to get me a fiance visa so I can go marry them. So that's another thing. Having that goal helps us hold on because we know if everything goes well, it won't be a permanent thing.
#that was kind of a mess but yeah i hope it answers some questions#anon#long distance relationship#queer platonic relationship#qpr#ldr#crunchy fish stick

CapT:
Like tell us, when does Sacrifice wrap then huh? Because the crew member posted Day 11 of 47, making the filming go until November 15th.
Rogers:
Looks like they are on day 11 of 47. Safe to assume filming ends November 15.
Yesterday/today:
Capt:
If a crew person said loosely "3 months" they're gonna be in the hotel, then again, there's multiple UNITS people, Greece is also next door to Bulgaria, so you'll just have to wait and see.
He’s filming in Bulgaria until December - test me on that one
Sorry I know we shouldn’t give Capt and her crew any time of day but this point out some inconsistencies. First they were the ones to claim it finished in November based on a crew member then changed it to Dec based on a hotel staff comment. Test her it’s not even her information what’s to test.
So just goes to show they do in fact know nothing about the shitty movie they can to not be interested in.
Now don’t get me started on the immigration status as someone who has worked with many different types of visa nothing is as straight forward as it says on the website. Every situation is different. Example a foreign national living in LA married her American fiancé in PT and then travelled back to the US within a month and has travelled in and out of the country since. They got their green card 6 months after their marriage. (any guesses who🤭) Then you have 2 American celebrities marrying foreign actress in 2 ceremonies in US and overseas. One married in Vegas then travelled to France for another ceremony before return US and again traveling in and out of the US. Another married overseas first and once again travelled back to the US soon afterwards and continued to travel. I don’t remember anyone questioning their visa status and I know some just refuse to acknowledge what visa AB had at the time because it doesn’t fit their narrative hence why they scream she has no US reps. (funny her last 2 movies are by US production companies)As for marriage certificate who’s to say they even lodge it in MA and just did PT? For all their screaming it’s not as easy especially PT to obtain and let’s face it if PR found it there is no way they are going to produce it. First it exposes the fact they lied to officials about why they required it and their real details would be officially recorded.
Yes Capt you can share your ‘husbands’ experience but again I can give you a hundred different ones. The point is you can’t guess what an actress’s status is and say with confidence what it is. Now as to the latest claim:
I don’t get or know why you all don’t get shit . Most PR stunts are public two years.
Count fucking backwards and get back to me . And NO, crumbs don’t count. Public! Public means revealed …. God . I’m not explaining it again.
One from their ‘anon’:
I myself remember regina actually theorizing this would be 2 years public . that makes it November 10 that it hits that mark doesn't it? maybe these fucks should just go hang out on the edge of a cliff. Just be sure not to sneeze. Now according to Capt this was meant to be over April 2023, then July 2023, then September 2023 then it was oh he signed another contract because of the strike then July 2024 it ended and there was a small window of opportunity to end it. Then it moved out to 14 October then end of October now it’s Nov the 2 year anniversary of reveal. Once again claiming they don’t care and saying they don’t know when it’s coming no one does but Chris and the ‘writers’ but now:
None of us care because we know that’s coming and when.
So guess we will see what happens and I see it’s back to calling him coke head.
Let’s just also point out Capt has been wrong more than right with her claims and she has made some pretty obvious blunders which long time Chris fans quickly picked up on. Let’s say about the wedding there is more evidence to something happening in MA and PT with family and friends in the locations and people saying they were there and pics from friends/family at the locations. And don’t start about the weather if a friggin MLB game could be played late afternoon/night & his niece can have a petting zoo outside under a tent supposedly on his front lawn then a wedding could take place add on he and his sisters were meant to have been seen out and about that day.🤦🏻♀️
Thank you for this! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Thanks again to everyone for helping us through the crisis with our daughter El. We're all safe now, but we incurred massive debt from the whole ordeal (plus my three bouts of covid, unplanned surgery, and hospitalization while we got it sorted), so by request, I'm posting our donation links again.
Thanks again! <3 <3 <3
(In case you're new: @thesurestthing and I are from the US, but had a baby in the Philippines in 2021 during the travel lockdown, with complications that required a C-section. A birth certificate error left our daughter stateless, and since our visas were expiring, we were in danger of being forced to go back to the US without her--the way travel restrictions here kept changing at the time, if we left, we didn't know when--or if--we'd be able to reunite with her if we left to reset our visas, so we were pretty desperate. It took nearly two years to sort out, while we navigated the bureaucracies of two countries and periodically begged for--and paid hefty fees for--overstay extensions to keep our little family together. That's all fixed now, but like I said, between that and illnesses/hospitalizations, what little savings we had is gone, and we're left paying off around 15,000 USD of debt, with our only income now being my social security disability--since the game that was paying a licensing fee for some of my old fiction got canceled.)

The Ninth House (horary)
Should I start studying for a master's degree abroad?
Analysis:
The Steward of the 9th House: identifies opportunities and factors that may affect the outcome of studying abroad. The steward of the 10th house: shows career prospects after receiving a master's degree. Ruler of the 4th House: Symbolizes the questioner's place of residence and how studying abroad can affect his home and family. Ascendant Ruler: Shows the intentions and motivation of the questioner. Moon: Symbolizes the emotions of the questioner and his expectations of learning.
"Should I go on a trip now?" Here it is important to take into account not only the 9th house, but also the 3rd house (the house of travel and communication). If the planets associated with these houses find themselves in conflict, this may portend difficulties on the trip. Each such question requires an individual approach and a careful analysis of the symbolism of the card.
Moving to another country requires careful analysis. The 9th house shows how you will be able to adapt to a new culture, as well as what opportunities you will have for personal and professional growth.
An equally important aspect is obtaining higher knowledge, learning new skills through advanced training courses.
The Ninth House also manages legal affairs and ethics issues. If you are thinking about a legal career or want to deal with legal aspects, an astrologer can analyze how the planets in your ninth house affect your ability to interact with the law and your inclination to justice. Understanding this can help you choose the right path in the legal profession or solve specific legal issues in life.

First of all this post is not an attack on any mutuals who may have shared similar sentiments I promise, but when americans say “borders are fake” I get what they mean, of course. In many ways they are, they’re arbitrary lines designed to keep out undesirables. But you know. They’re very much real to the people they were designed to keep out. People who are kept in internment camps, people who are murdered, people who can’t escape war zones, people who spend hours being aggressively and violently interrogated getting the full Terrorist treatment in airports because they have That Look. People who just happen to have the Wrong Passport and get talked down with the assumption they’re always planning on staying. I get what “borders are fake” means and again it’s a nice sentiment but the thing to me is that nice sentiments aside borders are extremely real. And you as an american have a magical passport (or the possibility to get one if you haven’t) so. How can I put this kindly. What does the average american truly know about how evil borders are. Americans will plan international travel and not even CHECK if the country they’re flying to requires they have a visa… That could not be me I can’t live in that reality.
#and look this post mentions americans because europeans are so much worse#‘teehee schengen area we don’t have border teehee 😎😎😎’ if you don’t shut the fuck up
