you can’t really think about science too hard with dark shadows but my unpopular opinion is that turning human would kill that man instantly because his immune system is not equipped to deal with modern evolutions of viruses, especially after laying dormant in isolation for 170 years.

#though it’s possible (even likely) that julia would have the foresight to innoculate him as she’s giving him injections #theres so *so* many problems he could run into by virtue of having consumed so much blood foreign to his system #not to mention things like the common cold.#and how many of his biological functions have atrophied by virtue of being dead for almost 200 years? are his lungs functional?#can his cardiovascular system produce and oxygenate his own blood?#what about his eyesight/pupil dilation after not being exposed to daylight for so many years? surely it would practically blind him.#these are things I wonder about.
