[08] [final] [bonus] -> masterpost
Your family took very good care of your apartment while you were away. The laundry is done, the tables are dusted, and your bed sheets are crisp and smell like lemon fabric softener.
Unfortunately, you can’t say the same thing about your fridge. You can’t recall the last time you’ve seen the back of your fridge, but now it’s completely cleared out save for three cans of soda.
At least there’s ramen you can boil.
Waiting for the water your fingers drum over your countertops, taking in your home. It’s been two months since you’ve set foot in your apartment. You used to hate living in this little box of an apartment, jealous that your other co-workers got to share with others and have grander living spaces. However today, you feel content basking in the intimacy of your home, thankful for the breathing room it provides.
Chilling with your candles on the counter, sits the bottle of angel wine you received that started it all. It looks innocent, sitting next to your Bath and Body Works candles like one of the team. In this scenario, the Angel surely trumpeted you.
The facility they sent you to was both a blessing and a curse. A blessing in disguise because you had time to think and get back on your feet with no repercussions of going “too slow” and the pressures of going back to work. A curse in its own merit because the doctors constantly poked and prodded at your brain, trying to help you process your supposed trauma and get you to remember.
And sure, being sent unwillingly to an alternate dimension as you were practically forced to live another life and fall in love with the boy you already love is definitely trauma in it’s own right. However you’d be crazy to tell them and you’re not trying to end up in the cuckoo house anytime soon.
So eventually you give them the boring, appropriate version. How you were flung meters away from the impact point, feeling like you were seconds away from being dead, every bone in your body protesting as you rolled off the road. Yadda yadda yadda, you said you remembered brief flashes of your hospital room during your coma, catching simple conversation exchanged between your visitors, but nothing concrete. When you woke up, you thought you were in a dream about being in a coma, and once you saw that you’ve actually been asleep for two months, caused a panic which led you to their facility. Everything but the crѐme of the story.
With this utterly basic and blase confession, the doctors deemed you ready to transition and re-acclimate into your normal routine.
“Ow, fuck,” you put too much water in your pot, and it’s now boiled over and some of the water has dripped on your hand. Immediately killing the heat, you decide that you’re not feeling ramen and you definitely deserve a treat meal before facing society head on.
Quickly putting on a large sweater and leggings, you make quick work to the 7-Eleven across the street of your apartment complex. This has to be a ten-minute trip, tops. You start to shove whatever looks edible into your basket, making sure to have an equal balance of sweet and salty foods.
A low whistle from behind causes you to bristle, and you turn around to shove your container of Kewpie mayonnaise into the offender’s chest.
“I promise, I don’t wolf-whistle just any pretty girl at 7-Eleven.”
Your weapon of choice drops into your basket, face softening at the man in front of you. “Hoseok?”
You almost double-take, thinking for just a half-second that you could be dreaming. It’s been so long, but seeing the pearly white grin on his face and the red cap on his head feels all too familiar, and you’re overwhelmed with emotion. Dropping your basket you throw your arms around him, laughing when he nearly stumbles and you two almost topple over the dried foods section.
Heat stains Hoseok’s cheeks, not used to being this close with you. “Didn’t think you had it in you to miss me,” he says lightly, only half-joking.
“Of course I missed you, Hobi,” you admonish, leaning back slightly to adjust the cap that turned wonky once you embraced him. “It’s been what, two months?”
“Almost five, actually,” you can feel him tense up as you try to adjust the bangs on his forehead. This must be really awkward for him, but you made a promise to someone to try to become better friends with him, so why not start now? “But I guess it doesn’t count for you if you were in a coma for two of them.”
“Right,”
Hoseok watches your eyes glaze over, deep in thought. In his haste he grabs your basket, gesturing for you to follow him to the register. You don’t even argue when he starts to pay for you, slipping the bottle of aspirin he wanted to pick up upon finding you in the same aisle.
“Hobi?” you ask, following him outside.
“Yeah?”
“We should hang out,” you say, ignoring the surprise on Hoseok’s features. He wasn’t expecting that, “My family pretty much rearranged my place while I was away, and put in a lot of home workout stuff,” he chuckles at the face you make, “but they left my old tennis racket. I know you used to play so I could use a partner.”
To your utter relief Hoseok nods brightly, “I’d like that.”
You grin, taking your leave as Hoseok follows your trail. You try to hide how giddy you are by hiding your head in your hood, smiling wide at the thought of spending more time with Hoseok. Both of you seem to be headed in the same direction, Hoseok making small talk about what’s going on in his life and what you’ve missed.
He stops in front of the apartment complex, gesturing to the studio he’s currently practicing in. “I should go call Jungkook for you,” he says, “he’s been worried sick about you.”
At the mention of Jungkook, you shove your hands in your burgundy pocket, wringing at the old fabric. “I’ll call him tomorrow,” you say, biting your lip, “I’m not quite ready yet.”
“Of course,” and it looks like he wants to ask more, but out of politeness he doesn’t. He’s always had a vague understanding of your relationship with Jungkook, but it isn’t his business. “But if he asks about you—which he does a lot and it’s super annoying—I’m not lying.”
“Wouldn’t expect you to,” you smile.
“That boy, he visited you every day he could. You know that?” Your heart softens at the confession, and you heat up. Hoseok reaches over to squeeze your shoulder, bending down to send you a smile equally as heartening. “So call him soon, okay?”
The both of you part ways feeling lighter and sweeter. The rest of your way back up to your apartment is peaceful, until you hear someone crying on your floor. Your heart aches seeing your old co-worker slumped up against your door. Her hair has grown in, surprisingly not styled and she looks like she’s just ran a marathon to beat you. When she sees you approach her, she gives you a wobbly pout.
“You bitch,” Sehlyung says with no bite to her tone. She’s teary, and has been sitting against your door because the lock has changed. You must’ve just missed each other, “why didn’t you tell me the second you arrived in the city?”
“I was just going to call you,” you bend down to reach her eyes, “how’d you know I was already here?”
“C-cousin texted me,” she holds up her phone, wiping her face with her sleeve, “she’s a surprisingly good texter for a five-year-old.”
You laugh, offering a hand to pull her up. “I’ve missed you,”
“Fuck, I’ve missed you too,” and she hugs you, squeezing your insides out with every fiber of your being. “I’m so so sorry, baby.”
“It’s not your fault—”
“I fucking know! I know it’s not my fault but just let me be sorry and hug you,” you relent after that, letting her cry on your shoulder as you fumble for the door so you can both catch up comfortably.
You set up the table for your feast, lining up everything from 7-Eleven onto the coffee table as Sehlyung busies herself by pouring you guys cups of tea. She eats quietly, to your surprise. You didn’t realize how much this accident would have affected her, especially being the last person you saw before you left. The two of you exchange simple, mindless talk, with Sehlyung complaining about how much harder work has gotten and how boring your life in the facility, to the point that you wanted to teach the patients English just for the fun of it.
Sehlyung still looks a little weary, as if expecting you to be upset and blame her like she wanted to. You don’t give her that, instead you reach over to pat the black roots of her hair. “Girl, how could you let it grow out like this?” you admonish, knowing how much she hated to see roots after the first two weeks.
“Was waiting for you,” she mumbled between bites of her onigiri, “you’re the only one that does my roots. Can’t have some salon jip me for hundreds of won just because you got into a coma.”
You laugh, patting your knees as you move to your bathroom. “Pretty sure your hair stuff is still here,” you chirp, “let me fix that for you while you’re here, yeah?”
After the day is spent and Sehlyung’s hair is freshly dyed, you two cap off the night with some popcorn and a subpar romance movie. The two of you aren’t really paying much attention to it, instead the focus is on the silent understanding the two of you have as you bask in each other's presence.
Sehlyung leans her head on her shoulder, smelling like fresh conditioner. “Y’know,” she says, “he blames himself too.”
“Jungkook?” you know exactly who she's referring to.
“Yeah, probably because of what he said that night,”
“You two are such softies,” you remark, pulling her closer, “all tough and strong on the outside so no one sees how weak you are to the people you love.”
•━━━━━━»•»💮💮💮«•«━━•••
Cleaning up your work locker is like unfolding a time capsule.
Thankfully, everything’s still there (aside from your Caprese sandwich Sehlyung so thankfully remembered to dispose of.) You take great care in putting all your things in your duffle bag, from your extra hoodie in case it gets cold to the soft covered textbooks that are worn from love and overuse.
You thumb your finger over the photograph of you and Jungkook, untacking it from the inside door. You don’t even remember when this was taken, a blurry polaroid of you on his back with sparklers in each hand. Both of you look hysterical, from the manic grin on Jungkook’s face to the slightly panicked face you sport because the sparklers are hovering dangerously close to your faces.
A little part of you feels bittersweet in closing this part of your life, but you have a feeling that this chapter ended long ago.
Making quick work to drop off your locker key among other workstuffs, you manage to catch a glimpse of some familiar faces working. The studio door is open, presumably to air out the seven sweaty bodies that have been working tirelessly. You pop your head open, nose crinkling at the smell.
You barely get a word in as passing staff come to greet you and marvel on your recovery. It’s a little overwhelming, but seeing the relief and relaxation on their faces as they take in your healed body like you’re Jesus reincarnate.
You also notice that Jungkook’s nowhere in sight.
Namjoon bumbles over to you, throwing himself on you like a bear swallowing you whole. “We missed you so much!”
“Ugh, sweaty!” you make a face when his muscle tee is practically transparent, “Joon, you’re like a sauna!”
He fakes a defeated sigh, making an exaggerated gesture of holding his shoulders in a tired shrug. “I get it, you don’t wanna hug me,” he declares, “after months and months, the only person you’re really looking for in this room is Jeon—” you squirm among the staff and the way they mull around the room, seemingly disinterested in your conversation.
But of course, you never know who could be listening in.
Namjoon cuts himself short and squeezes your shoulder, as if to say you know what I mean.
“You actually just missed him. He left his extra clothes at the dorm. If you leave now, you’ll be able to catch him,” Jimin offers. He’s slumped on the ground, regarding you with a secret smile.
“Yeah, and it’s okay if he’s five minutes late.” Hoseok pipes up, downing a water bottle.
“Or ten.”
“Or a day late,” Hoseok finally says, “a day is fine.”
You snort, looking between the three boys. “I wasn’t looking for him,” you scoff, but from the looks on their faces, they already knew. With an exasperated shout and a rushed goodbye, you dart out of the studio, acutely aware of the giggles that follow you out.
•━━━━━━»•»💮💮💮«•«━━•••
The floor of their apartment took up the entire complex and then some, so you had to get Namjoon’s code to reach that floor. A little part of you knew you also could’ve just texted Jungkook to wait for you, but you had an inkling you would chicken out the second your phone indicated he was typing. The animated (...) always gave you a little bit of anxiety.
But now you’re at their front door and you’re not so sure if you feel ready. You felt ready this morning, when you dressed “comfortably but cute” in an outfit appropriate for cleaning out your previous job’s locker and just so happening to stumble upon Jungkook. That didn’t happen, and now you no longer have the cushion of being at the company surrounded by people.
It would just be him and you, for as long as you two need.
You’re only allowed to dive headfirst into the situation, because suddenly Jungkook is barreling out the door, presumably rushing to get to practice. He’s also equal amounts of sweaty, but at least has a clean shirt on. The white cotton is haphazardly thrown on, the collar so wide that the gap seeps onto his tanned chest.
Said chest barrels into your face, and you go down hard.
He cries your name like a prayer, dropping whatever’s in his hands to kneel to your aid. He’s shaking, unable to register that you’re simultaneously here and not here because he just bulldozed the entirety of his weight into your unsuspecting body.
You’re dizzy, trying hard to focus on him through bleary eyes. Jungkook looks like he’s about to cry. His carmine eyes scan your body for damages, and his one hand cards roughly through his untrimmed hair. The slight curl from yesterday’s salon job has lessened, but still manages to bounce back despite his futile attempts to get his bangs out of the way.
“J-Jung—” dammit, why was it so hard to formulate two syllables? “Oreos.”
“Wha?”
“Your Oreos,” your eyes flicker to the quickly escaping tins that came from his arms, wheeling further and further down the hallway, “running away.”
He scoffs, but you can tell he’s trying not to laugh by the quirk of his lips, “They’re fine. They’re not going anywhere,” he steps back a bit, sitting on his heels to give you some breathing room, “you on the other hand, can’t go anywhere.”
You narrow your eyes, “I didn’t come here to just leave,” you say, “I came here to talk to you, until you so gracefully said hello to me with the entirety of your muscle mass.”
Jungkook deflates, “Sorry.”
“It’s okay,” so much for a graceful start, “let’s get inside.”
“I uh, I have practice,” but he scrambles to pick up the Oreos and the clothes he dropped, “so we can start talking for a bit and then… ?”
“Ah, Hoseok said you can come to practice tomorrow,” he lights up at the mention of his friend, “I mean, if you want. I don’t know how important this practice is but—”
“It’s not,” he blurts, then sees the shock on your face when he’s cut you off, “I mean, it’s important but not that important. I mean uh, in comparison to now, and your head… and the Oreos.”
“Right.”
Not trusting yourself to get up too fast, you decide to crawl around to gather up the tins of Oreos while Jungkook moves to pick up your bag. With three tins gathered in your arms, you take the proffered hand Jungkook offers you to hoist you up. Your head throbs a little, but you know Jungkook’s got you. You try not to think too hard about the hand in your grip as it switches to hover over your waist as he leads you inside.
The penthouse isn’t as different as you imagined it would be. Then again, you could imagine how little time they spend in here anyway. The granite and dark wood kitchen remains, and your hands hover over the cool material. You’ve always been jealous of their living space, and often grumble about how their kitchen and living room spans about three sizes of your apartment combined.
Jungkook’s nose pokes in your bag as he sets it down, “You picked up all your work stuff?”
“Yeah,”
He gives you a strained smile, “It’s definitely not going to be the same without you at work,” you can tell how equal parts truthful and embarrassed he is, given by the way he breaks eye contact with you. “I mean, we can put in a good word for you if you want to come back?” he offers, “I don’t know if there’s still a position available for teachers but,”
You shake your head, one hand gripping the counter. You want to tell him that it isn’t his job to find him, but your heart is feeling particularly achy looking at the way he does want to help. After all, you two were still very close before your coma and the weeks leading up to your fight, “I think I want to try new things,” you say, “but thanks anyway.”
“Oh-kay,” his eyes look towards where you two should get comfy. The living room is the most obvious option, but the thought of any of his members or staff coming in at any moment terrifies him, “let’s go to my room.”
Unfortunately the Golden Closet isn’t made for two. He blanches as you two appear at his front door, noting the odds and ends of speakers, mixers, cameras and microphones taking up space on the floor and his desk. God, you must think he really doesn’t have his shit together after all this time.
“So, you still sleep on electrical equipment?” you say wryly, climbing up to reach the bed. The only reason the bed is unoccupied is because it’s a half-bunk, high enough to avoid any of Jungkook’s things.
It takes a second for Jungkook to follow you up, and he almost loses his breath at the sight of you sitting cross-legged, waiting patiently for him to sit across from you. It’s like old times, where you’d sleep in his room and wait for him to get back so you can finish another episode of whatever show you two were catching up on. It’s been awhile since he’s slept in his own bed, so the sheets are fresh and it's easy for you to sit on a clean space.
“So,” Jungkook exhales, “what’s being in a coma like?”
He wants to slap himself. Repeatedly.
Your demeanor cracks, and maybe it wasn’t the wrong thing to say because up until now he never realized how much he missed your smile. “Waking up was the awful part, like the truck crashed into me in the middle of the room,” you reel it back when you see Jungkook’s face pinch, as if he thought back to his time watching over you in the hospital, helpless, “but uh, other than that, quite painless.”
“That’s a relief,” and you feel better seeing Jungkook’s shoulders slump in his t-shirt, looking relatively calmer than before. You tilt your head, wanting to gauge his expression by sneaking a glance under his chin, where he’s tucked in his facials. “I uh, about the last time we talked…” In other words, the last time we fought, but he’s still not looking at you, and it’s so unlike him. Jungkook doesn’t like beating around the bush, he’s a man who likes to cut to the chase and get straight to the poison of a conversation.
But it’s been a full thirty seconds and you decide that’s enough, as he’s starting to look like a tortured animal and you feel the need to put him out of his misery.
Placing a gentle hand on his knee you breathe, “It’s okay,” and his eyes flicker to yours, expectant. “I’m not going to push it, push us anymore. That wasn’t fair to you and I’m sorry. But we can still be friends and that’s more important to me.”
And suddenly Jungkook’s face shoots up and he’s panicked. He looks sweaty, scarlet, and on edge all over again, as if you asked him to jump off Mount Fuji without a spotter. “Wait, wait,” he splutters, nearly banging his head on his ceiling. Jungkook tugs your hand back, pulling you to him, “y-you don’t want to try anymore?”
You stare hard at the hand encasing yours, “Like I said, I want to start a new chapter in life.”
“But that’s not what I was getting at.”
You raise a brow, “So then what are you getting at?”
And he clams up again. If you two were in a bigger space, you could imagine yourself tapping your foot impatiently, to the point that it got annoying and Jungkook would snap at you and give you a proper explanation to his weird behavior.
Finally he exhales, “I dreamed about you.”
You narrow your eyes in confusion, “What kind of dreams?”
“Random ones,” he shakes his head, trying to recollect them. “They were of us, but not really us, y’know? It was like a different life, we did all the fun stuff we used to do,” he frowns, thinking he must sound really stupid that he’s betting everything on a couple of imaginations, “and some of it wasn’t. Like we’d be in the city taking pictures, or arguing in a library. But we were so happy,” he stops himself, because now he’s starting to feel silly, “and it made me think of what would happen if I met you under different circumstances, and even though it’s hard under our circumstances I want—a-are you crying?”
You start to whine, displeased with your emotions as you start to think about the past four months. Had Jungkook seen what you lived through? If so, how? Rubbing furiously at your eyes, you shake your head furiously, “Sorry, it’s just been awhile since I’ve cried it out,” you forge up, “pl-please continue.”
Jungkook moves sloth-slow, making sure his actions didn’t hurt you in any way. When he senses your consent, he pulls you over to his side of the bed, wrapping a tentative arm around your shoulder. Your scent engulfs his senses when you instinctively lay your head on his shoulder, your breath lingering between his neck.
“I really hated myself for a while,” he admits, “when I saw you in that hospital bed, I just couldn’t stop thinking about all the things I’ve wanted to experience with you and,” he’s starting to feel a glimmer of what you’re feeling, and he sniffs, resting his chin on your head, “if you’re going to start a new chapter in life, I want to be part of it too because I love you.”
Expecting your shock, he turns his head away for yours to whip up, face centimeters from yours. “Y-you love me?” you echo, mouth open and eyes wide.
He laughs at your expression, “I’m sure you knew that. We’ve been idiots for the better half of the year.”
“I know… but hearing it is different!” you’re caught up in the whirlwind, leaning forward to tug on his collar, “C-can I kiss you?” A little part of you is impatient, a bit too greedy for your usual demeanor but you’ve longed for him so.
Jungkook pouts, “You didn’t even say I love you back.”
“That’s a no?”
“I didn’t even brush my teeth…”
“Jungkook.”
He tries not to smile too hard at your eagerness. As much as he wants to kiss you, he needs to think better and continue on with his apology. It’s the least you deserve. “I’m sorry for not respecting your feelings that day,” he says, running his hands across your body. They stop at the curve of your waist, holding you down flush against him. You feel your body sing in response, but you tamp it down when he continues, “I shouldn’t have made the decision for you by rejecting you like that, it… it wasn’t fair to our feelings.”
“It wasn’t fair at all, and it hurt a lot.” you agree completely, and as much as it pained him to hear it, he needed to. Letting go of his collar, you sit back between his legs, “but I understand why.”
“And the next morning when I woke up, and everyone was crying I—” he’s choked up, tangling a hand through your hair to affirm that you’re really here, and really okay, “I know it’s not my fault, but I felt like I was in a movie. Like one of those crappy romances where one character gets into a really bad accident and the dumb boy finally realizes how much he loves her.”
He looks guilty, as if he wants to tack on how he feels like it is his fault. Jungkook bites his lip, fearful that you’ve realized he’s not good enough for you. No matter how many times he’s fabricated the scenario in his head, he only pictures the disappointment and pain in your features for falling for a guy like him.
But instead, you reach over with bright eyes leaning on your elbows to press a kiss to Jungkook’s mouth. It isn’t even a long kiss, but it feels nothing short of a cool wave washing him in relief. You pull away before he could deepen it, and you giggle when you see his mouth still puckered open like a fish. “You are a dumb boy,” you murmur, “but I still love you.”
You go soft in his grip when his eyes glow, sparkling carmine with nothing but sheer love and affection for you. The feeling comes unbridled, genuine and all-encompassing for the first time in a long time. He doesn’t know how much time he can cherish with you before he’s whisked away to his next activity, but he can surely make the best of what he has now.
It takes no effort for him to pull you in a sitting position, making it so your arms wrap around his trim waist. Snug together, he presses kisses to every part of your face, your nose, your cheeks, your forehead, your lips.
This feeling, this touch is long overdue for the both of you, but you’re languid in your attention, letting it wash over you like the sun on a warm day. You’ve missed him so much, you’ve missed this Jungkook. The man who has been with you through thick and thin for over a year, who’s struggled with the weight of the world and the audience of millions, is in love with you as much as you are him. Jungkook, who sings your worries away and makes you want to become a better person with each passing moment, is holding you like the most precious thing on the planet.
His kisses turn white hot, wetting your neck as he hoists you up to settle neatly on his thighs. A soft, high-pitched sigh escapes your lips when you feel something hard and thick press into your core.
A sense of urgency fills his radar at the press of your thighs locking tighter around his body. “Fuck, babe—” his hands grip the swell of your hips, bucking into you once, twice, so hard that the frame shakes. “You’re so, pretty I—” you moan into his neck, hands running every expanse of available skin, “I love you so, so much, pretty girl.”
You stop to clutch his face with both hands, enjoying the way your thumbs brush his pretty cheekbones and your palms fill with his soft, adorable cheeks. “I love you, too. Now, will you make love to me?”
“Fuck, yes,” and the fondness in your eyes immediately glaze over when he throws all his weight into you again, making you feel weak and wet with pleasure.
“Jungkook,” you drawl, “just like that, please I—AH!”
It isn’t a cry of pleasure. A little too into it, Jungkook thrusts particularly hard, enough for you to come down and the bedframe to soon follow. There’s a sickening crack in the metal, and the both of you immediately scramble as you feel your combined weight sinking into the corner of the bunk. Jungkook clutches your body in a vice, prepared to protect you in the event you two come crashing down. Now Jungkook remembers why he hasn’t been sleeping in his bed as of late.
It’s dead silent, apart from your labored breathing. When your eyes finally refocus, you notice that you two have dipped and you’re looking at Jungkook from a slight angle, your weight tipping. You two broke the frame.
“Kook,” you cry, digging your nails into his shoulder, “you need a new bed!”
He shakes his head, “Don’t think this bed was made for this kind of activity,” he peels the thin mattress, noting the way that two bolts in the paneling have come loose. One panel has already slipped, hanging at the edge and creating a large gap. He shakes his butt experimentally, noting the way the framework swerves with him. “That’s not good.”
“How could you have not noticed the loose bed frame!”
“It’s kind of hard to worry about your bed when you have a job that requires you being awake 25/8.”
“Well, how do we get down without bringing the whole frame down?”
“Uh, I’ll throw you down in that little space by the door. Make sure to tuck in your knees and make a ‘lil triangle with your hands in case—”
“What the fuck—you’re going to take a chance and throw the love of your life down the bunk?”
“Babeeee,” he whines, eyes zeroing in on his precious computer directly under the frame, “there’s expensive equipment down there!”
With a glare, you swivel your hips on his dick and he groans, unable to move. He barely gets a centimeter upwards before the frame moves and squeaks even lower. You don’t bat an eye when Jungkook panics for your safety over pleasure. Payback. “Call Seokjin,” you demand, pulling out your phone from your back pocket, “now.”
There’s something familiar in this kind of banter, and you want to akin this feeling to home. All your tears shed, your longings to go back to this world, all pinpoint to the home that is Jeon Jungkook.
Jungkook mutters something under his breath about you being too bossy, punching the numbers in. As soon as Seokjin answers, you send him a sultry wink and move.
It… isn’t sexy. You’re giggling as Jungkook holds his breath, tells Seokjin on the line as tersely as possible that he needs to get here as soon as possible with some help and a new bed frame. Jungkook’s face is read, giving you warning looks as you bounce on him, the metal edging you on in a way that’s simultaneously unsafe and thrilling. When Jungkook hangs up, he sends you a look that says you’re gonna get it but instead presses a lingering kiss to your forehead. The chaste gesture makes you melt in his arms.
Silent, he pulls away and your thumb brushes his shiny lips, smiling at you as you wait it out.
As you lean your head in his shoulder and wait for help, you’re reminded of something. Not long ago, another Jungkook told you that he couldn’t wait to fall in love with you again, and now you’re echoing the same sentiment. You can’t wait to love him, too.

“She left a bit ago, said she’ll be back soon.” Error replied. (2 turns)
ZM
"uh huh," she gets a chill thinking something is going to happen. She looks to shatter.
Core
Shatter seemed to have the same feeling as she looked around.
ZM
sense she's right by shine all she does kinda go closer to her in a protective mannor
Core
The ground spiked up, hitting Shatter directly in her soulstone.
ZM
chara sees shatters soul stone break. "INK ALL OF YOUR STUPID IDEAS MEAN NOTHING AS LONG AS CAN RELOAD. SO THE JOKES ON YOU" she looks around for her
Core
Ink was on top of the roof. “Not if I overload your save file to now.” She said with a smirk as shatter turned to dust.
ZM
"Good luck trying you piece of sh**! Oh god I hate you! Void cult yeah right" chara climbs up to face her.
Ink paused for a moment. “Where did you learn that...”
ZM
"I thought you knew EVERYTHING." She sneers her eyes glowing
Core
“Not when I’ve been stuck here.”
ZM
"whatever I don't care about your excuses. I'm going to make you hurt, you're going to tell me about this cult. And then I'm bringing shatter back. " chara surrounded ink with red knives
Core
“I can bring her back, but not unless I get something in return.” Ink replied
ZM
"Like you need anything" the knives are right by her skin grazing her
Ink’s blood was black and reformed instantly into new skin. “Enterainment.”
ZM
"Maybe you should stop being a perv and mind your own business for once in your life" she makes the knifes cut back at her, they form jags more like a saw
She saws through inks arm only for it to slowly reform. "Error wanna help me out?"
Core
“Kid, I’ve tried, she doesn’t feel pain unless she gets burns.” Error said.
ZM
"Like, actual burns or chemical burns?"
Core
Ink signaled for Error to be quiet
ZM
"You can speak errz, she doesn't own you."
ZM
( did killer follow or is she still back at the other place)
Core
(She stayed back.) “Yeah but she can certainly kick my ass.” Error responded, remembering last time She got in the way of one of Ink’s games
(I am just now realizing how much Ink is like the other mother from coralline)
ZM
(Yeah that sounds about right) 'I'm surrounded by cowards.' She looks upset. 'Its around this time I wish I was bigger and or could teleport' she tries to tackle ink off the roof anyway with the use of orange magic
Below is a shallow lake so that would answer her question of water Resistance
Core
Ink turned to liquid, dodging.
ZM
chara checks ink
Core
(Endurance 10/10 Speed 9/10 Physical attack 1/10 Special attack 9.5/10 Physical Defense 7/10 Special Defense 9.5/ 10)
ZM
chara puts up a ring of fire around ink
Core
Ink looked at this. “Really?”
ZM
All I can picture is chara saying "go ride a rollercoaster" all angry like in that balloon shop video
ZM
"Just because you're op as fu** doesn't mean you have to make fun of me!" She waves her arms
Core
Ink looked at Chara before her eyes flared and the flames went out.
ZM
"You know, I say 'I hate you' a lot but for you I really mean it." She shoots forward and slashes into her ink that just moves out of the way. "Help me error damn it!"
Core
“Again, I know better than to do that.” Error said. “Yeah? But I don’t!” Shade hissed climbing up.
ZM
chara's pretty shocked that shade wants to help. "Well, ah gee. Thanks kid,"
Core
Ink turned to Shade, a slight glare on her face.
ZM
Chara wonders if she were to fuse with shade and then go back in time if she could revert it.
Core
Shade shot towards Ink, who turned to liquid to dodge.
ZM
chara goes in from the other side trying to leave her no where to go.
Ink went in between Chara’s legs and reformed behind her.
ZM
Chara sighs. And turns to her. "Why did you do it. She's my friend, how is this fun to you!" she looks like she actually might cry.
Core
“Because, it’s illogical.”
ZM
"fun has NOTHING to do with logic. What world are you living in? Why hasn't the protesters of these world's come to destroy you? I've never been justice oriented but you don't deserve to live." She's been attacking her the whole time getting no where
Core
Ink grabbed Chara’s throat. “You can’t kill something that wasn’t truly alive to begin with.”
ZM
Chara struggles kicking and clawing at in not being able to breathe.
Core
Ink then dropped her, not going to kill Chara yet
ZM
Chara catches her breath rubbing her throat. She looks over to shade tiredly
Core
Shade was slipping off the roof.
ZM
she growls and looks up at ink. "What do you want."
Core
“I already told you, entertainment, you play my game, I bring your friend back.”
ZM
she rolls her eyes and sits down loosing her balance "What does that entail?" She mummbles
Core
“You can continue your little journey, but...” she thought for a moment. “You are to kill all fusions.”
ZM
"That's stupid."
Core
“Think of it as a challenge, 18 fusions, for the eighteen pieces.”
ZM
She growls "That's nothing but a waste of life. Especially sense the fusions I've met aren't even hostile." She pulls up her save file "I'm not playing your game." She thinks of a few minutes ago and starts to try to jump back.
Core
Ink smiled. “I must say, I am impressed.”
ZM
She gives her a side glance as if telling her to go on
Core
“I’ll bring her back. In due time of course, but you do have my word on that.” Ink said.
ZM
"I take your promises as well as I take asy's as to say not at all. But I do want to know what you're impressed by? I'm groveling at your damn feet"
Core
“That you refused my offer, most versions of yourself jump at the idea of a mass genocide.” Ink said.
ZM
"Ah I see, I take pleasure in making those hurt who deserve it. I'm no sociopath. Like you." She puts a hand over the reset button. "See ya on the other side freak." She salutes and pushes it.
Core
She was when they came out of the portal. “I’m not a coward.” Killer hissed.
ZM
"So you say killz, so you say." She grabs shatter's hoodie stopping her from going in the portal
Core
Shatter flinched. “Woah what’s wrong?” “So now you know why I’m not going?” Killer said in a snarky tone
ZM
"You could say that. Okay let's make this simple." She pulls shatter all the way back. "Im going to say a quick bye to the kits, and you open the portal back up after I'm done alright? Just stay here. "
Core
“Ok, will do.” Shatter said, still confused. Ink watched from the roof. “You know, resets are such a pain, ruin so much planning.”
ZM
Chara's through the portal and it shut, she glares up at ink for a moment before saying "Don't talk to me." Putting up a hand and going over to shade
Core
“About time you came back!” He said.
ZM
"Yeeeeeah about that..." she rubs the back of her head trying to think how to say it. "The thing is we're planing on keeping you two with... well with error." She looks to error " you can baby sit right?" She says with pleading eyes
Core
“I have been... I’m not there mother, don’t wanna be either.” Error replies not looking up. “Come on Error. I think it will do you some good.” Ink added. “No way Ink, kits are grabby, and thanks to you, I can’t handle that.” Error hissed softly
ZM
"I-... I don't even want to know what you mean by that." She shakes her head. "But thank you error, you're a life saver. I'll find. Someone else I guess."
Core
“Yeah, whatever.” (Yeah, ink hurt Error the last time she intervened in one of her games, so much so that Error has ptsd from it.)
ZM
he calls to shine. "Hey kid get over here!" Back to error. "You should get away from ink. She's nothing but a head ache and you know it"
Core
Shine ran on over. “Easy for you to say, you don’t have to clean up after her.” Error said
ZM
"Maybe if you stop giving her attention she'll take a hint that EVERYONE HATES HER" she turns to ink at the last word. She gives shine a hug when she makes it over.
Core
Shine actually started purring softly when she got hugged, extremely happy to have affection. “So? What if they do? Won’t change much.” Ink said
ZM
"Being liked is more enjoyable than anything in the multiverse. Of course you'll never know that." She pats shines head and walks over to where the portal was. "Shatter I'm ready!" She has no clue how shatter's powers work so she just yells and hopes she heard.
Core
Shatter opened the portal. Error looked to Ink, thinking.
ZM
"Bye error, think about it, kay?" She smiles and gets the kits through the portal and follows.
Core
Shine was still nervous about Killer. Shade happily greeted Tonic.
ZM
Tonic looked ecstatic to see them. Chara claps once and says. "So! The whole void cult, ink knows about it. Also ink killed shatter. I feel that keeping the kits with us is kinda awash now. No one's going to be safer or in more trouble if they stay." She shrugs. "Or we could drop them off with nightmare."
Core
“Night would eat them within a week, on purpose or not.” Killer said.
ZM
"Oh yeah I forgot her weird eating problem..." she clicks her tounge. "Well kids what's your opinions?"
Core
“Can we stay with you?” Shine asked “What about that laughing lady?”
ZM
"What the hell is laughing lady?"
Core
(LJ) “No she was creepy!” Shine whined, hiding behind Chara.
ZM
"Oh LJ? Yeah that's not a bad idea"
Core
“Thank you.” Shade said. Shine whined softly
ZM
"Have a better idea kiddo?" She looked behind her to shine. "You don't want to stay with us we're not nice."
Core
“Yes I do...” shine mumbled
ZM
"What is it?"
Core
“I wanna stay with you guys!” Shine spoke up
ZM
"Yeah I heard you the first time. But we're going to be running around killing big groups of cults. I kinda don't want you there for that. Nor would skink."
Core
“Take me with you please!” Shine whined
ZM
"Pfff, why?"
Core
“B-because....I dunno!” Shine whined louder, clearly annoying Killer.
ZM
Chara noticed and lead shine a couple paces away from the group "Listen shine, you deserve to grow up having fun. You don't want to see me and killer mess up the universe and practically brainwash others."
Core
“But-But you are fun!” Shine said
ZM
"HA fun? yeah no kiddo, you'll have a lot more fun without us. plus you have skink! you'll be fine"
Core
“B-But...” shine stuttered.
ZM
chara looks at shine quietly and then sighs. "we'll come see you later. alright?"
Core
“Promise?” Shine asked.
ZM
"ehh. sure. as long as i'm not dead by than or something." she shrugs
Core
Shine then hugged Chara. “Okay, as long as you come back.”
(yeah i'm not great either. i'm going to put a couple pics here and i can only do it one at a time so sorry! if you have other ideas for some moves for frisk do tell)
ZM
chara hugs back. "heh, that's funny i thought you guys didn't like me very much
Core
“Shade doesn’t.” Shine said.
ZM
"do you know why?" she lets go and starts to head back over to the group.
Core
“Something about ‘irresponsible jerk’?”
ZM
"the irresponsible jerk being me? i don't get it." she cocks her head."
(for color changes you could have kris and chara and the vessel you make at the beginning of deltarune DANG it would be so cool)
Core
“Me neither.” Shine said. “I said put me down!” Shade hissed at Killer who was holding him up by his foot.
ZM
"i leave you for one second killer" she sighs jokingly. "put him down."
Core
“Not until he apologizes.” Killer hissed. “Never!” Shade hissed back
ZM
"what he do?"
Core
“Called me a ‘blind psycho bitch’.” Killer hissed.
ZM
chara shrugs "i thought you had thicker skin than that killz"
Core
“Oh can it.” Killer hissed. Lifting Shade higher off the ground.
ZM
"let's get the kits out of here before killer does something dumb." she tells shatter.
Core
Shatter’s eyes glowed purple as she freed Shade from Killer’s grip
ZM
"know what hold up, i wanna take them to that island and test out something if that's good with you guys." she stretches and starts picking various plants and putting them in her pockets.
Core
“What island? The one where we fought?” Shatter asked.”
ZM
"nah, the one with the waterfall we were just at"
Core
“Got ya.” Shatter said, opening a portal.
ZM
they go through and chara instantly turns to tonic. "okay!" she sits on the floor infront of them. tonic blinks confused. chara pulls out all of the plants and lays them out. "that thing we read about you said you were a support thing so i wanna see what you can do with dumb materials like these." "okay?" tonic says
Core
Shatter watched, actually interested in the experiment.
ZM
chara gives tonic a stalk of grass seed, tonic absorbed it into their paws. tonic turns a light green shade and chara makes a grumpy face. "i don't want simple healing! i want some kind of resistance to lava and crud. i know you can do that, it said so." she shoves a few more twords tonic that they take, most of them deepen the shade. leaves and weeds. when tonic got to a mushroom it was different, a bit of blue magic went to tonic's core and stayed seprate from the green. (i must sleep, bye)
Core
Shatter thought for a moment. Before summoning an egg. “Try this.”
tonic had a little sigh not exactly enjoying the little experiment. the egg gave an indigo shade that stayed in their paws.
Core
It was the egg of a lava lizard, an aquatic creature that would dive into lava pools and turn the molten rock into armor. Shatter senses that he was uncomfortable. “You ok?”
ZM
the indigo had a tint of purple to it, almost like it didn't know what color it should be. tonic nods to shatter. "that might be what i'm looking for" chara says. "give me your hand" she grabs tonic's hand
Core
Shatter, just to make sure nothing went horribly wrong, turned into a lava lizard and went into the stream
chara took off tonic's hand as they held up their arm to not let the liquid out. chara went over to look how shatter was doing holding the potion ready to try it out.
Core
Shatter nodded, the molten rock warming up her scales
ZM
chara drinks the potion and tosses the hand back to tonic. chara's skin glowed purple for a second and she went into the water. she felt perfectly fine. "haha! yess!!" she went to swim down trying to find an opening to the volcano;
Core
Shatter was swimming much faster than Chara, and allowed her to hold onto her tail.
she held on and the two of them swam under finding a crack where warm water was coming out of chara let go and started to move away some of the rocks around it.
Core
There was an air bubble, she could hear someone talking. “You feeling better now? Good, you had me worried.”
ZM
she gives a questioning look to shatter and tries to go closer
Core
Shatter broke some of the rocks to allow Chara to surface
ZM
she makes it into the area and shakes her hair and clings to a rock to keep her up. the person who was talking probably noticed her instantly.
The person was facing away, petting a phoenix
ZM
"hey you, what you doing in here?" she asks. climbing on the rock.
Core
The person turned to Chara. “Oh I was just helping Rodon here heal.” She said with a smile
ZM
"why are there people everywhere? i swear like what? or stars, whatever." she hops across the rocks over to where neon is. she slides over and pokes the phoenix
Core
“Well, I’m no star,” She said (with a 😅 face). The Phoenix squawked and nipped Chara’s finger.
ZM
chara moved before it could bite her. "alright, what are you?" she looks intrigued.
Core
“Well, a carbon life form, but Ink kinda made the whole, ‘carbon life forms are soulless and evil’ thing seem universal, or I guess multiuniversal.” She replied
ZM
"cool! you're like that jerk! you can tell me how to torcher her!" her eyes sparkle. "error's too chicken to tell." tonic was looking down into the water with the kits and sees shatter resurface.
Core
Shatter shook off the water, turning back into herself. “Well, that’s pretty mean....” the person said. “I don’t even know who you are.”
ZM
"where'd chara go?" tonic's confused. "does it really matter who i am? everyone knows she deserves it."
Core
“She found a pacifist star to chat with, she’ll be fine.” Shatter said. “Well...she can’t really help being the way she is.” The woman said
ZM
chara shakes her head confused. "excuse me? she killed my friend to 'spice things up'. SHE CAN'T EVEN ENJOY a story so she's doing this for no reason. she's the worst thing in existence!"
Core
“Woah, woah, ok, ok. Sorry, I didn’t know that.” The woman said
ZM
"yeah," she folds her arms. "care to share now? i'd be quite grateful." tonic nods and looks to the kits. "do you want to try going in the water?" the bit of potion still off their arm no sure what to do with it.
Core
“Water, it burns carbon, it’s a chemical reaction, hydrogen burns carbon.” The person said. “Me!” Shine cheered.
ZM
tonic happily handed it over to shine. "i was actually thinking about that thank you. too bad she's so hard to pin down in anyway." she pauses. "is this phoenix yours?"
Core
Shine drank it. “Well, I can actually help on that.” The person said. “And no, rodon lives here.”
ZM
"woah really? you'll help? you just said you don't even know me."
Core
“Well, unlike Ink, I’m not soulless. It’s called sympathy.” The person said. “My name’s Neon by the way.”
ZM
"well damn, alright i won't complain. i'm chara." she kinda feels bad she didn't specifically say that her friend isn't dead anymore but... eh.
Core
Neon smiled and climbed out of the volcano, the lava not harming her
ZM
chara not willing to get burned to death doesn't risk going the way neon did and swims up the almost boiling water back to the rest of them. "guys! we've got help!"
Core
“Really?” Shade asked. Shine was splashing and playing in the water
ZM
"yeah she'll get around her soon i assume. she's a carbon 'star' just like ink and she said she'll help us break her."
Core
“And why should we trust her?” Killer hissed. “Because I’m not like Ink.” Neon said.
ZM
"you don't trust anyone killz. you're right we'll keep an eye on her but be positive! cool things could happen with her help"
Core
“I understand your mistrust, but don’t worry.” Neon smiled. Shine yelped and went out of the water as the potion wore off.
( here's a bad idea, swap ink that has too many emotions and has to drink acetone a lot to make them less extreme.) tonic went over to shine "are you alright?" chara nods. "yeah killer don't worry! okay so ink says she's always listening or whatever so the only way that i can even think of finding her is to specifically ask her to come here. so i'm asking. currently." she shrugs knowing it's not going to be that easy.
Core
“Burn...” shine whined. “Yeah not that easy.” Neon shrugged, “she doesn’t literally always watch, she listens to the creators, who are currently rambling about another version of Ink.”
ZM
"i can help you with that, no worries." tonic starts to heal her up ('they're currently rambling about another version of ink, lol i don't know why that's funny to me) "oh" chara says. "wait how do you know that?"
Core
Shine had burns on her legs. (Because it’s what we were doing) “I can hear them too.” Neon explained.
ZM
( that's what I mean! It shouldn't be funny! ) "uh huh... can you like... ask them to shove ink over to us?" Tonic fishes healing and shines legs feel better than ever.
Core
“You two heard Chara, are you gonna make it that easy?” Neon asked seemingly no one. (Which Ink? 😈) “My creator asks ‘which ink’” Neon sighed. “She never makes things easy.”
ZM
( Lol this is so weird, HI NEON) "... know what. I don't trust them at all maybe we should forget them." "You know which ink" she rolls her eyes
Core
“You’re creator calls my ability weird and says hi to me.” Neon explained. “Hello, Zora.” Shatter sighed. “Can I use you as a link to find Ink?”
ZM
Chara's just confused
Core
“Sure you can try.” Neon shrugged as Shatter’s eyes turned purple.
ZM
Tonic trots over to shatter
Core
(is that so?) “She’s at the marble ruins?” Shatter said with a questioning tone
ZM
tonic seems to know that place and looks at their watch thing which hasn't done anything resently
Core
Killer seemed suspicious. “Can’t be that easy.” “Lotus is there...” shatter sighed. “That sounds about right.” The watch was on Draco.
ZM
Chara cocks her head. "Well let's go!"
Core
Shatter sighed and made a portal
Core
ZM
they get to the marble ruins where lotus is. chara slides up next to her and greets her. "hello! where's that jerk ink!"
Core
She slid next to a teen in a black cloak. “What the hell are you planning to prank us with this time?” Lotus asked in a bored tone. “Hey Lotus! There was some bu-.....” another chars yelled as they rounded the corner.
ZM
"ooo hey a me!" she hops up and down. "HI!"
Core
Lotus looked at them both, her eyes glowing. “Ok, that makes sense.” She said, before going back to tending to the plants. “Uhhhhh... ok, this is weird.” The other Chara said(let’s call him oc for now)
ZM
"well get used to it, there's a lot more weird where i came from." tonic joins them and so do the kits "but sieriously. i assume you're lotus? shatter was talking about you and I NEED to see ink asap."
Core
“I know already, and I can’t detect ink, she has no soul. I can see people for what they truly are, and see how long they are supposed to live for.” Lotus explained, her voice lacking much emotion. OC huffed. “Yeah, it sucks because you have destroyed three of my hosts, THREE!”
ZM
"pff, sucks for you." turning her attention to lotus "yeah? that's pretty fancy... know what hold on-" chara goes and grabs killer's arm. "tell me about her if you'd be nice."
“Why just tell you when I can show you?” Lotus suggested with a sigh, her eyes glowing as a silhouette off a creature formed around Killer. Inside of that silhouette was one of a girl who seemed to be crying. Killer herself seemed in a trance when Lotus was doing this. “Another corrupted soul... so cool.” OC said with a smile. (Creature in picture)
ZM
"that's not 'cool' that's my friend ya jerk." she sighs. "is there anything i can do to help her?"
Core
“Well, see the lighter part, the girl? That’s her true self, it’s just hidden. She had done this to herself.” Lotus’s eyes stopped glowing, Killer shook her head as the silhouettes disappeared. “They are when ya get to see them fight, so gory.” OC smiled.
ZM
chara glares at oc "... i don't like you." she looks a lotus. "even if she did do this to herself can't i help?"
Core
“You won’t be the last.” OC smiled. “Well yes, there are some traditions to ‘cleanse’ a soul of such corruption, but that would change the person you know.” Lotus explained, before a familiar face showed up; Papercut. “Hey, Lotus, you have the new knife I left here?” She said, yawning like she had just gotten up.
ZM
chara wasn't thrilled to see papercut not wantting to get into a fight with her knowing she'd loose. "i don't want to just 'fix her' i want her to just feel better."
Core
“Have you asked her what she wants?” Lotus asked.
ZM
"i meannnn, not really?"
Core
Neon wandered off, catching Shade’s attention. Shine was nervous. “And I left your knife in that old shop, with the pink roses.” Lotus told Papercut. “Thanks.” Papercut said leaving
ZM
"well aren't you popular." she turns to killer. "well? what do you what?"
Core
“I’ve told you before, I’m fine like this.” Killer said. (A Corrupted shell can also be used to as a safety shell, it makes the host feel protected)
ZM
(got ya) chara stares her down. "i don't think i believe you."
Core
Shatter sighed, looking around. “Believe me or not, it doesn’t change how I feel.” Killer said bluntly.
ZM
chara clicks her tongue. "whatever." back to lotus. "so you said you don't know where ink is?"
Core
“I do.” Oc said, “I pranked her this morning.” He laughed. “It was awesome!”
ZM
"would ya show us?" tonic tapped her foot thinking she should follow neon and so she does that.
Core
Neon was looking around, walking into one of the ruins, “there you are.” She said, finding Ink. “Well I can’t leave until I heal, now can I?” Ink replied her wing was all burnt up, “She went into one of the buildings, I burnt up her whole wing, it was epic.” Oc smiled. (Oc is my headcanon of Chara btw)
ZM
(yee i was assuming that) tonic has the instant urge to heal ink but they refrain. "well damn i guess we better get going before she heals. why are you stronger than me! that's not fair!" she pushes oc forward wanting him to lead to the place
ZM
(you should tell me how oc looks >:3 )
Core
(Well He is after a Genocide timeline, he’s tall, slim build. Massey hair that almost covers his eyes, which are blood red.) Neon sighed. “Well, I can’t say you didn’t deserve it.” OC chuckled, leading them to some of the buildings, looking in each one.
ZM
chara follows, looking back at her group noticing two are gone. "shade where'd those two go?"
(dang it all. i don't even know this kid and i already picked a song for him)
ZM
(i take it back, he's toby)
(i don't know how to express how much i love your ink. she is gorgeous. in fact .... lol. i made a star that's infatuated with her and follows her around.)
Core
(Shine was the one who stayed, and he has a striped shirt with 2 or three stripes, and he is around 6’1” so tall boy.) Shine shook her head. “T-they followed Neon.” “I walk through a doorway and get water dunked on me, yeah I deserve that.” Ink replied “No, it’s a result for messing with this stories flow, your not linked to the creator like the rest of us, so you can affect the flow in ways she doesn’t like.” Neon explained (Actually in the church they talked about expectations, so maybe I should tell you mine about you?)
ZM
tonic nods accepting neon's explanation. chara groans. "well which way?"
Core
Shine pointed to the building.
ZM
chara goes to that building "ah there you all are!" ?? "why are you talking to her neon?"
Core
“Kept her from fleeing, did it not?
ZM
"suppose so." chara throws a knife at her other wing. tonic stepped aside not wanting to watch a torture session.
Core
Ink hissed at this, the wing raw and burnt from OC’s prank.
ZM
Chara throws some purple webs down wrapping Ink up "so so so. Do you feel guilty for any thing you've done?" Under her breath. "Dang it I'm starting to sound like sans"
Core
“No, of course not, I cannot feel guilty in the first place.” Ink hissed, Shine whined slightlyz
ZM
She goes close to ink and summons an ax. "I'm going to MAKE you feel guilty. You're not above conciquences and I'm going to prove to you that exact fact." She slams the ax ink her leg
ZM
(Into her leg)
Core
“Not gonna happen.” Ink hissed breaking some of the webs and reaching to Chara, she just needed to consume some carbon to get back to full health
ZM
Chara growls and a starts attaking somewhat wildly and signals to tonic who shakes their head not wanting to do what chara asked them to before but after chara threw a knife at tonic as a warning they gave up and used about half of the liquid inside them to cover ink, it basically would react like water.
Core
Ink screeched at this, burning up.
ZM
"that's what you should feel like constantly! You deserve it!" This time as she couldn't move she cut off her boiling leg successfully.
Core
Ink grabbed Chara’s arm her hand almost bone. She pulled Chara in
ZM
Chara tried to form a knife but her magic is low so she trys to claw her hand away from ink
ZM
Around that time a glitchy portal appeared with a defending pop (get ready, template gets annoying, also ink knows template plenty well.)
Core
(Ok, gotcha.) Ink scratched Chara’s arm using the carbon in her blood to heal
ZM
Chara kicks her in the gut managing to get away as ink’s hand snapped off of her arm turning into ink and falling on the ground. Chara whines for someone to help her with ink. Neon, shatter, killer she doesn't care but she needs to get this done before she heals all the way
Core
Neon wasn’t completely okay with the idea, and actually wanted Ink to heal. Shatter felt similar, seeing this as going to far. Killer hated Ink, so gladly joined in with her knife.
ZM
The two of them work on that until chara gets hit in the head and falls to the floor, template was invisible and tried to nullify killer as well.
ZM
Chara tries to get up but passes out
Core
Killer went numb, backing up. Ink’s skeleton was made of diamond like material
ZM
"ink! Oh my god are you alright?!" Template kneels by her though he doesn't have anyway to heal her. "
Core
“I’ll be fine, just need carbon.” Ink said, digging up some carbon from the rocks, using it to remake her body. “Good to see your finally back.”
ZM
"Seems I can't leave you alone for a second anymore!" He growls at killer and tonic who were the closest. Tonic backed away to shatter. "What's wrong with you all?! Leave ink alone!"
Core
“Technically you have been gone for 7 months.” Ink replied. Killer shook off the numb, hissing back. “And why are you defending the squid?!”
ZM
"I cant keep track if time." To killer "Because she didn't do anything to you! She's my ma- my friend. She's my friend." (He was gonna say mate but they're not.)
Core
“Friend?” Killer started laughing
ZM
Template had blush roll over him as he's easily flustered. "Yes. Now get lost unless you want your soul stone shattered."
Chara slowly shook off the bludgeoning she just got and looked at the new star. Chara’s livid as ink is no longer basically only a skeleton. She splashes the water on the floor at ink and slides over to get another hit in. Template stomps down on charas hand and kicks her away to neon.
Core
“Is that a challenge?” Killer hissed before seeing Template attack Chara, she then lashed out, actually trying to bite him. Neon caught Chara, her palms burning at the water.
ZM
Template made killer's soul stone indigo and increased the gravity on her. She's pretty resilient to his attack as she's right by his neck as he guards himself with his arms he pulls at her hair with the arm not pushing her away.
Core
Killer landed a bite, the black dripping from her eyes getting into the wound as she released.
ZM
Chara shook her hand as it almost feels broken. She grimaces and gets away from neon noticing the burns. Template is very defencive but every move he makes he does get weaker. "Toxins. The way of the coward" he states and pulls her down to the ground deforming her soul a little.
Core
“No, the way of brain over brawn.” Killer hissed, resisting as much as she could
ZM
He rolls his eyes and the gravity gets stronger as his hatered slowly grows. "Are we going to have a problem or will you leave my friend alone?" The ground cracks under killer.
Core
“As long as you leave Chara alone...” Killer hissed, cracking under pressure
ZM
The pressure was released seemingly agreeing to killers demand. he went back over to ink and sat by her.
Core
Ink looked at Template. “You sure do know how to make situations interesting.”
ZM
he blushes and looks away shyly "Heheh, I try."
Core
Killer looked at Chara, “You ok?”
ZM
Chara lifted her hand to show killer, it was mangled and a purple shade. "That felt really good." She says sarcasticly.
It kinda flops over grossly. "I don't have enough dt. Someone wants make me a save star?"
Core
“Sh*t, yeah I know that feeling.” Killer cringed. “Neon, can you repair it?” Killer asked. “Yes, yes of course.” Neon said, fixing the hand. “Although that variant may be troublesome.” Ink hissed softly.
ZM
Chara didn't like the feeling of the healing as her hand was pretty numb before and now the pain is in the main dealing she makes groans and bites her arm to keep her from screaming. "Do you mean the killer or chara variant?" He asks quietly.
Core
“I mean Neon.” Ink replied, watching her heal.
ZM
"...perhaps." he watches as well. " do you want to stay here to watch or do you want me to take you somewhere to heal? " "I can keep an eye on them if you like."
Core
“It would be appreciated if you keep watch while I heal.” Ink said to Template
ZM
He nods. "Will do." Chara snaps "ARE YOU DONE YET" as she holds back tears
Core
Ink turned into a liquid and fled. “And done. Sorry hands are complex...” Neon replied
ZM
Chara pulls her hand away as the pain stops. "It's fine.. thank you."
(Can I just say it's so precious how killer cares for chara ;u; what a good girl)
Core
(If she heard you say that...) “Ok, good. I was worried.”
ZM
( BUT SHE'S SO CUTE! SHE MUST KNOW!) she looks at neon not sure how to read her. "Why didn't you help just now with ink? And you shatter? You guys just stood there!"
Core
“Ink isn’t that much different than me, so it’s... unnerving to say the least.”
ZM
"What about you shatter?"
Core
“Honestly my reasoning is stupid, sorry.”
ZM
"I still wanna hear it."
Core
“Something told me not to.” Shatter explained
ZM
"... huh?" Chara doesn't get it at all. "You're kidding right?"
Core
“No, told you it was stupid.”
ZM
"What told you? I don't get it."
Core
“My gut.” Shatter said. “Always good to listen to that, Papercut said, coming over to see what was happening
ZM
"Well my gut tells me that my friends probably should have helped more than they did." She stands glancing to template. "Now we have to find her again." She looks to papercut, "not that I mind but I also kind of do, what do you want? Frankly you're creeping me out."
Core
“Nothing much, just waiting for Rotten to show up.” Papercut smiles.
ZM
"Uh-huh... Alright so here's the question for shatter and neon. If we find ink again will you help or not. We shouldn't waste our time with it if we'll just get a repeat of what just happened. I'd much rather level up with the kits."
Core
Neon shook her head. “I will.” Shatter nodded
ZM
"Kay~" she stands "i'ma go see if I can find lotus again. Killz would LJ or one of your other friends like to try out that cleansing ritchual or are they all happy how they are like you?"
Core
“Probably Nightmare.” Killer said.
ZM
"Cool. Shall we than?" She grins "maybe she'll give us something for our efforts. Like watching the kits haha." She looks around trying to find oc
Core
OC was sparing with Rurik. “Yeah, I can teleport us.” Killer said
ZM
"Thank you, you're a life saver Yuma." She grins and walks through the portal. Template followed like he said he would from a desent distance.
Core
Killer took them to Nightmare who was asleep again
ZM
"Nightmare!hey boss! We got some cool news!" She shouts up at her.
Core
Nightmare opened her eye. “Yeah? What’s up?” She yawned
ZM
Chara climbs the tree quickly and sits on a branch. "We met a star that can clear you from your corruption! How cool is that!"
Core
Nightmare sat up quickly. “What?”
ZM
"You heard me"
Core
“Where.” Nightmare said sternly
ZM
She looks back down. "Killer, doll, mind taking us back?" She hops down the tree.
Core
“I’m not a doll.” Killer said, before teleporting them all back
ZM
Chara snickers and they're back at lotus. "It's her, she'll help you."
ZM
Template is starting to get impatient, he wants to see if inks healing alright but he knows she'd be mad at him if he just left. So instead he taps his foot and draws in the sand with a stick.
Core
Nightmare went up to Lotus. “You really can help me get rid of... this?” Nightmare asked. Lotus nodded
ZM
(so i totally don't remember what nightmare said happened to her sister, want to remind me?) tonic hopped over interested to see the process
Core
(Well Dream helped save a human child from falling off a cliff, when the father saw this he thought Dream was trying to hurt the child and pushed her. Her impact on the rocks below broke her soul stone.) Lotus’s eyes glowed as she revealed Nightmare’s ‘true self’. Much like Killer, a corrupted shell, a sad center.
ZM
( well gee that's sad.) template is disturbed by the corruption and he kinda scowls in their direction
Core
Lotus then summoned her scythe, carvings of a rose vine was in the handle.
ZM
the watchers stay silent at the anticipation
Core
Lotus slashed through the corrupted shell, Nightmare’s coating cracked and fell off as pieces. Her real self had night black hair and deep violet eyes,
ZM
tonic takes some of the shell that was dropped. chara goes closer to night inspecting her. "how you feel boss?"
Core
Nightmare looked over, before looking at her hands, “a-amazing... I’m... me again.” She smiled
ZM
chara grins back happy that she's pleased. "pretty cool lotus. pretty cool indeed."
Core
Nightmare stretched back, hissing since there was still pain, but was still happy.
ZM
"where'd you learn how to do that?" she asks
Core
“Well, I’m a reaper, so I just reaped the corrupted part of the soul.” Lotus shrugged.
ZM
"that's really strange. but hey i guess it works!"
ZM
"so night." she's obviously expecting nighmare to do what she asks. "sense we oh so kindly led you to this little reaper and now your feeling good how about you watch the kits?"
“I can also control souls, including lost ones.” Lotus said
ZM
"oh yeah?" chara being herself instantly wants this power. she makes a scythe. it gets a black hue that radiates off it. simmilar to what lotus's had.
Core
Lotus’s scythe glowed a soft red. “The scythe isn’t the source of my power, kid.”
ZM
(idk if you missed it but chara asked night to baby sit the kits) "well duh." chara says. "ya gotta start somewhere. here let me see..." she spins it and tries to get the shade lotus's magic is.
Core
(Oh I did miss it, Nightmare accepted) “It’s all about the main slash, you need to use your entire upper body.” Lotus instructed
ZM
"similar to an ax i assume?" she does her best slash she could manage.
Core
“Not exactly, you curve more.” Lotus explained.
ZM
"curve more. got it." she holds the sythe back far behind her and leans into the swing. "hows that?" "not to disturb your lesson chara.. but shouldn't we go find ink?" tonic says as they absorb the shell.
Core
Neon thought for a moment, as if listening. (Skull lagoon, 😈) Shatter agreed with Tonic.
ZM
template didn't like the sound of that and instantly goes to the little cave behind a wall of vines that ink was resting in. "but this is fun!" she whines. she sighs "but you're right. this is time sensitive. let's go." she says unhappily. "you two are staying with nightmare." talking to the kits.
Core
“Ok!” Shine smiled. Ink was almost back to her full game. “They are at the skull lagoon.” Neon told the others
ZM
"you're handy." she says to neon. "glad you stuck around" template portaled a little bit away from ink as to not hurt her ears with the pop his portals make. he moves the vines away and is relived to see she's looking alright. "they're on their way. apparently the little agreement we had didn't last long."
Core
“That makes two of us.” Neon smiled. “It’s fine, the soil here is high in carbon,” Ink responded, absorbing just a bit more.

ok to kick off october (aka the month of halloween) bc its officially past midnight heres a little ficlet i tweeted the concept of a few weeks back! some classic “hermann gets dragged along into a corny fake haunted house and newt is the semi-incompetent worker who keeps flirting instead of actually trying to scare him” au meetcute. also dedicated to @newts-geiszler and @ee-void, the former who indulges me in all my halloween newmann talk, the latter who drew VERY cute art of this on twitter. im gonna make this longer for ao3 lol
The house is large, full of dark corners and artificial fog, fake, too-red gore splattering the walls, the hardwood floors, and cobwebs—these quite possibly real—hang from the chandeliers and wall-set candle holders. It all looks a bit like the set for some bad horror movie. Something that would come on the television at midnight that Hermann would deliberately skip over. “Forty dollars,” he sniffs, as he waits in line with Tendo, Mako, and Raleigh, “for this.”
Piercing, electronic screams drift through the shadowy doorway. The line moves forward. “Look, it’s totally worth it,” Tendo insists. “We’ve done this—what, how many times?”
“Three times,” Mako says. She smiles at Hermann. “It is fun.”
A “zombie”—face green, clothing hanging from its body, groaning—ambles past them, nearly bumping into Hermann, and Raleigh takes a small step between it and Mako.
By the time their group is ushered inside fully, three more zombies and a vampire have wandered by and Hermann is more than ready to go home. His leg isn’t aching him—not yet—but his head is, and it’s been a long day and it looks as though there are a great many stairs to climb in the house. And the flashing strobe lights aren’t helping anything. “Where first?” Tendo says, and points at a little signpost listing the different attractions the house has to offer. Knife-wielding serial killers are delegated to the dining room and kitchen, evidently, vampires to the master bedroom, bloodthirsty scarecrows to the field beyond the house and the undead! to the graveyard beyond that. “Your pick, Hermann!”
Whatever will get them out of here faster. There’s a large group clogging the main entrance that leads to the dining area and Hermann doesn’t particularly fancy standing around anymore, so he examines the sign for their other options. “Basement?” he says.
“The mad scientist’s lab,” Tendo says, lowering his voice ominously, and Hermann sighs.
A few people in costume leap out at them on their journey to find the basement, or, the mad scientist’s lab: a man in a hockey mask wielding a bladeless (and blood-splattered) chainsaw, a villain Hermann recognizes from one of those countless 1980s slasher flicks, a murderous and fanged clown. Much to the delight of Mako, Tendo, and Raleigh, and much to the disinterest of Hermann. He spares a glance at his phone when they finally descend upon the lab. Half past nine. Hermann would normally be in bed by now.
The mad scientist’s lab is decked out in sterile metal, flickering overhead lights, and shelves lined with strange disembodied things in jars. Hermann catches sight of some sort of animatronic Frankenstein’s monster-esque creature strapped to a metal table. That’s all there seems to be. It’s terribly anti-climatic. “Shouldn’t someone be jumping out at us?” Raleigh says, as they stand there staring.
A door swings open, and a short man in thick glasses and a lab coat stumbles in. He’s covered in more fake blood from his face to his clothing and holding what appears to be a large alien brain in a jar. “Shit!” he hisses. He nearly drops the jar in his haste to get to the side of the strapped-down creature, and he’s muttering under his breath. Hermann finds him oddly charming. Tendo and Mako are snickering.
When it’s clear the man won’t be leaping at them or stabbing himself with a retractable knife or any of the host of other things Hermann’s seen others do tonight, he can’t help but say “Are you meant to be scary?”
The man prods the animatronic creature one last time and turns his attention to them once more. “Uh. Obviously,” the man says, and he holds up his bare hands. “You see any gloves here?” He taps at his glasses. “Any goggles? I’m a walking OSHA violation, man. I’m a fatal lab accident waiting to happen.” The animatronic creature suddenly jerks to life with a deep yell, sitting up ramrod-straight and fighting its bonds. The man also yells, in surprise, and he falls back and does drop the jar this time. “Fuck! Now it works.”
Hermann has a hard time stifling his laugh; his colleagues are not even trying. “Are you quite alright?” Hermann says, as green liquid and the fake rubber of the brain ooze across the floor.
The man hauls himself to his feet, brushing off his bloody lab coat, and shoots Hermann a broad smile. “Yep! Yep. All good. Technical difficulties. All minor, though.” He ducks out of sight again, presumably for a broom.
“Come on,” Tendo says, grinning, and nudges the small of Hermann’s back.
They wander on through the basement. The short “mad scientist” they left behind isn’t the only thing to see down there, but he was certainly the only one that caught Hermann’s eye, and the rest of it passes by in a blur. They’re ascending the staircase once more—Hermann, slower up it on account of his cane, bringing up the rear—when a familiar face pops up in a gaping hole in the wall.
“Hi,” the mad scientist says, not making any move to shout or make a grab for Hermann. He’s just leaning on the jagged wood.
“Hello,” Hermann says, and frowns. “Shouldn’t you be—”
“Jumping out at you?” he says. “Probably.” He hoists one leg over the hole, then the other, much to the surprise of Hermann, then lands heavily on the staircase just behind Hermann. He dusts off his lab coat. “So,” the mad scientist says, “uh, I’m Newt. What’s your name?”
“Hermann.” It’s hard to make out Newt’s face from underneath the makeup and fake blood and the poor lighting to boot, but he has pleasantly round cheeks and a very nice smile that Hermann likes instantly.
“Hermann,” Newt repeats, and then goes and spoils the moment by waggling his eyebrows ridiculously. “You come here often, then?”
Hermann makes a face and begins ascending the stairs once more. “Not if I can help it,” he says. He’s lost Mako, Tendo, and Raleigh, but he’s got a new companion, evidently—Newt’s trailing after him, hands shoved into his lab coat pockets.
“Not your scene?” Newt says.
Hermann shakes his head.
“Well, don’t worry,” Newt says, and winks cheekily. “I’ll protect you from—fuck—!” An animatronic skeleton swings out at them from another gaping hole in the wall, and Newt jumps and grabs onto Hermann’s left arm.
“How heroic,” Hermann says dryly, and pats Newt’s hand. Newt does not let go, but Hermann finds he doesn’t really mind. “Why are you working here, exactly?” It doesn’t seem like Newt’s scene, either.
“I’m part time for the season,” Newt says, eyeing the dangling and fairly innocuous skeleton nervously. “I just love Halloween.” They step up another few stairs. Nothing else jumps out at them; Newt starts to relax. And talk more. “I’m a full time biologist, though,” he says. “So the mad scientist shtick isn’t totally a shtick.” He plucks at his lab coat. “I actually stole this from work.”
“You’ve covered it in fake blood,” Hermann says. “Doesn’t that count as some sort of contaminate?”
“Maybe,” Newt says, and shrugs. “I never actually wear it. Anyway, what do you do?”
“I teach maths at the university nearby,” Hermann says, and Newt’s face lights up.
“Oh!” he says. “This—” he waves his hand over Hermann’s—sensible—cardigan, tweed blazer, and glasses chain, “—isn’t a costume, then? I thought you were supposed to be a librarian or something. Math professor makes a lot more sense, though. Cool.” Hermann supposes he should be offended over the jab as his appearance, but Newt’s endearing in some odd, infectious sort of way. Like a particularly animated and particularly resilient weed.
They’ve reached the top of the staircase and Hermann’s colleagues are nowhere in sight, so he doesn’t let go of Newt’s hand quite yet. They wander out to the front of the house together, through a kitschy little graveyard of Styrofoam headstones engraved with terrible puns and more rolling fog.
“My shift’s over in five minutes,” Newt suddenly says, casual. He’s watching Hermann from the corner of his eye. “Just so you know. If you wanted to ditch this place and, uh, grab a drink or something.”
“A drink,” Hermann says, and then he realizes what Newt’s implying. “Oh. Yes. I would like that.” He doesn’t imagine Tendo will be too upset if he calls it a night early. Especially considering the circumstances: Newt is even nicer to look at in the moonlight, faux blood splatters and all (and he does hope Newt has a change of clothing, or else they may not be let in to any bars), and though Hermann isn’t the type to run around falling for handsome strangers at Halloween attractions something about Newt feels different.
“Ha! Awesome!” Newt’s near-bouncing on his feet with excitement and beaming at Hermann, which is probably why he doesn’t see the chainsaw-wielding man in the hockey mask from before until he leaps out right in front of them. Newt swears loud enough to wake the dead and undead alike. “Shit! Okay,” he says, as Hermann smothers his laughter behind his hand and the man in the hockey mask crouches behind a tombstone once more, “I’m so over this.” He starts dragging Hermann towards the exit. “Let’s go, Hermann.”
