so I had a dream where I saw them like this 😁😁
I dreamed that in Ren and Stimpy in one episode there was a moment where they solemnly light cigars.
it looked funny, both of them standing in the rain (maybe not watery one), in suits, synchronously taking out cigars, first Ren takes out his lighter, then Stimpy takes his one, they light up and stand here with these goofy ahh smiles
then there is some kind of Tarantino's conversation Ren says like hey by the way, you have to give me your T-shirt now (with short sleeves, blue and white stripes) Stimpy frowns with displeasure and begins to take it off (he was wearing a jacket and he took it off without fucking taking off his jacket first?), saying, "I actually bought it for myself for Christmas." Ren is like, "Yeah, yeah, but you still owe me."
-That's what you said when you took away the gift I bought for Mom's Halloween.
-Mom's Halloween??
-Well, yes. -You redheads probably celebrate every holiday separately like that, it's weird. (??whaaaat) and Stimpy finished it like, nodding in "yeah yeah I know stop bitching" way.
..also the way they're dressed als reminds me of one of comics with them becoming crime lords hee
#and in general in that dream I was interacting with r&s fandom.. it was cute and nice and there were cool people here#ren and stimpy#ren & stimpy#ren hoek#stimpy#stimpson j cat#ren and stimpy fanart#nickelodeon#nicktoons#art#fanart

Barbara's Mind Controlled Christmas
Originally published Dec 18, 2013
If there was a naughty list, Barbara was on it. She hadn't received a contract with Victoria's Secret, but she'd walked in the fashion show, done the photoshoots, and shot the commercials. She was one of Victoria's Secret's rising stars, and she loved every minute of it. Posing when the paparazzi was around, breaking up celebrity relationships, seducing wealthy men. Barbara immersed herself into every aspect of the high rolling lifestyle. When she wasn't working for Victoria's Secret or walking some runway in Paris, she was at a club, getting wasted and having hot evenings of anonymous sex. Modeling was, in short, the perfect way to feed Barbara's nymphomania.
"Oh, oh god, Harry! Harry!" Barbara moaned as her lover shoved her against the cold wall of the cramped janitor's closet. Barbara frowned as he pulled out. "Why'd you stop?" "It's Henry," the guy said. "My name, it's Henry." "Just shut up and fuck me!" she cried, pulling Henry closer. "Okay, okay, sorry... Just... Could you be a little quieter? Someone could catch us." "That's what makes it so hot," Barbara playfully whispered into Henry's ear. "Yeah but... You're a model, if you get caught, people idolize you. If I get caught, I get fired. I depend on this job, Barbara." "Listen to me, Hagrid," Barbara said, her voice lowering. "I don't screw a lot of lighting guys, so maybe you don't realize, but this is kind of a big moment for you. I mean, I can have sex with just about anyone I want. So unless you don't want to have undoubtedly the best sex of your life with Barbara fucking Palvin, then I suggest you keep fucking me before I get bored." "God you're so hot," Henry said, continuing. "It's Henry, by the way." "Whatever," Barbara moaned.
Barbara left the closet with her hair a mess and her bra strap slipping down her shoulder. She really didn't care who knew about her sexual exploits, she was actually kind of proud of it. She readjusted her bra and slipped her robe back on, returning to work where she was filming a commercial for Victoria's Secret. She could tell from the looks the other models gave her that they knew what she'd been up to, which just made her feel even hotter. Who else had the balls to fuck Horace the lighting guy in a janitor's closet?
It was late by the time the shoot ended, and Barbara headed to the parking garage to find her car and return to her hotel where she hoped to get some sleep for the busy day ahead of her. In the garage, she was greeted by the familiar face of Doutzen Kroes, who seemed to be inspecting her car. "Hey, Doutzen, um... What are you doing?" Barbara asked. "You drive a Lexus," Doutzen observed. "Yeah... I do... What are you wearing?" Barbara couldn't help but stare at Doutzen, who looked absolutely ridiculous in red Christmas lingerie. "You look like a sexy elf." "It's Christmas, Barbara. My outfit spreads holiday cheer to all of those who have forgotten the spirit of Christmas." "Okay, you're high or something. Just get away from my car so I can get out of here." "I am high on Christmas cheer, Barbara," Doutzen smiled. "My body now belongs to the Christmas spirit. I must spread this feeling so that everyone may enjoy Christmas as well." "Whaaaat the hell is going on?" Barbara asked, pretty certain that Doutzen was on a bad trip. Doutzen didn't reply. She lifted her pointer finger and placed it upon Barbara's forehead. From the tip of Doutzen's finger, Barbara started to feel a strange sensation as her head grew numb. She opened her mouth to protest, but no words came out. Her eyes crossed as her mouth went slack while Doutzen scanned her mind.
"Oh dear..." Doutzen said, removing her finger. "You've been so naughty, Barbara." "Naughty..." Barbara drooled. "You're selfish, you've never done anything for anyone else. You love to indulge in alcoholic beverages and sexual intercourse. You don't even care that it's Christmastime, you just care about pleasure. But giving on Christmas is the greatest pleasure, Barbara." "Pleeasure?" Barbara asked. "Yes, Barbara, pleasure. You like pleasure, don't you?" "I doo..." "I can share the pleasure of the Christmas spirit with you, if you want." "Yesss..."
Doutzen leaned in to kiss Barbara, and though the girl didn't expect this, she found herself kissing Doutzen back. This wasn't the first time that Barbara had kissed a woman, but there was certainly something different about kissing Doutzen. Barbara could feel something moving between them, as Doutzen transferred part of the Christmas spirit into Barbara's body.
Doutzen stepped back to observe her newly converted subject. Barbara's eyes glowed green in the dark parking garage, and a stupid smile was starting to spread on her face. "Are you alright, dear?" Barbara giggled, "I'm okay, Doutzy. I just feel guilty for being so naughty." "It's okay, honey. You can make it up to me by spreading Christmas joy." "Uh, duh! That's like, my only reason for existing." Barbara giggled. "Good! We'll have to get you a cute little Christmas outfit, but then we can get started."

5 Ways to Stay Organized During the Holidays
how to stay organized
Happy, happy Thanksgiving, my babes!!!
I am so incredibly grateful for you all. 2020 has been a wild ride but it hasn’t shaken this amazing LSF community at all! I’m insanely thankful to have all of you to keep me focused and to give me so much support. Thank you for being THE BEST!
I hope you’re having a wonderful holiday today, whether you’re celebrating with your loved ones virtually or in person.
As you settle in after what was probably a major meal, it’s time to get those Christmas songs pumping. It’s so fun! I’m known to jump the gun on Christmas a little bit, but once Thanksgiving is here, there’s no stopping me. Holiday season is in full swing now!
But if there’s one thing I always find myself wondering during the holidays, it’s how to stay organized. Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE this time of year. But it’s definitely a hectic one, right?
And in a year that’s been ultra-weird, you might not even have your normal holiday traditions to keep yourself on track. If you usually knock out a bunch of your holiday shopping in person with Black Friday deals, you’re probably going to need to pivot this year.
Since I’ve been wondering how to stay organized, I’ve been rounding up some tips for myself. And I wanted to share them with you all, too! Here’s what’s been helping me stay on my A-game this holiday season.
#1: Make your gift list now
Let’s talk not about how to stay organized, but how to get organized. This is where it all needs to start.
It’s officially gift shopping season, girl, so get on top of it! Seriously, find ten minutes today and make a list of everyone you buy gifts for. Don’t forget your friends, aunts, mailperson, and coworkers. Really rack your brain to make sure everyone ends up on your list. Need some ideas for gifts? Check out my gift guide video and blog post.
Then, designate an hour sometime in the next few days to do a big gift-list brainstorm. You’ll be amazed at how much you can knock out in just an hour! You don’t need to buy anything here, just write down ideas for everyone on your list.
If you can get your gift list done before December 1, you have 24 whole days to buy those gifts one by one. Suddenly, holiday shopping is no-stress!
#2: Keep a budget
Part of the reason I think we all wonder how to stay organized is that when we don’t, our wallets hurt. Last-minute gift shopping and travel booking can cost you a pretty penny!
My tip is to make a holiday budget. As you work through your gift list, put a budget by each person’s gift. I know it’s tempting to go over, but keep yourself on track and you won’t start the new year with a savings account that feels crunched.
Same goes for holiday travel. Set a budget and stick with it! Booking your travel early and setting up fare alerts for cheap prices if you’re planning to fly can help. I have a total budget guide in my Holiday Survival Guide!
#3: Use your planner
I know that even with the best intentions right out of the gate, this time of year gets busy. And it’s all too easy to misplace your gift list or your budget tracking tool.
That’s why I like to keep everything in one place with my LSF Planner. Seriously, if you’re wondering how to stay organized through the holiday season and into the new year, this is my #1 tip.
Having a planner where I can keep everything important in one place has been so huge for me! It’s amazing to have a single source of truth. That way, if you get a great gift idea at a random time, you can jot it down and you know you won’t lose it. Or if someone asks you to a Zoom holiday happy hour, you can quickly check your calendar so you don’t double-book yourself, adding holiday stress.
And why stop there? Get organized for the new year, babe! Once you get in the habit of using a planner, it’s life-changing.
And guess whaaaat? We just launched our 2021 #GOALS Planner and it’s so cute and so functional! I know you’re gonna love it.
#4: Set aside a couple of holiday chore days
Pull out your planner or, if you don’t have it yet, whatever else you use to keep a calendar. Now, block off two days.
They could be any days during the month. Just make sure you book them solid so you won’t schedule anything else.
These are your days to do holiday chores. Need to make cookies to share with your neighbors? Bake on this day. Need to get your presents wrapped? This is the day for it. Need to order some last-minute things online or fix the light bulb that went out on your holiday decor? You guessed it: use this day!
The holidays always come with a bit more work than we expect. Having time set aside to catch up can make you feel extra organized and calm through the season.
#5: Schedule you-time
Figuring out how to stay organized is important. But figuring out how to protect yourself from getting exhausted is even more important! So it’s time for another calendar exercise.
Pull up December and put a few blocks on your calendar that are just for you. Use them to take a bath, get in a longer workout, catch up on sleep — whatever you need, girl! Staying organized is a whole lot easier when you’re not exhausted.
You’ve got this! With these tips, this will be your best, most organized holiday season ever.
Happy Thanksgiving, my LSF babes!!

Please, Just Stop With These Holiday Decorations—We’re Begging You
GettyImages/ Lisa J Goodman
Unless you’re a garbage human being, it takes a concerted effort to completely hate the holidays—or at least the intent behind the season. In theory, it’s a time when we all come together to be nice to one another for a while, to shamelessly indulge in guilty pleasures (like 28 Hallmark holiday movies in a row), and to attempt to forget about the dumpster fire ablaze in the world around us.
But just because we don’t hate the holidays doesn’t mean we don’t hate elements of it.
We tapped into our inner Scrooge to point out a few of the absurd and abominable decor trends befouling our holiday spirit. And boy, does our rage run deep for some of this stuff.
Let us be clear: This isn’t any War on Christmas. And you don’t need to worry about us mowing down your yard decorations. But suffice it to say we have some feelings on the matter—and we’re not alone. There are some holiday decorations that just need to go away already.
Inflatable yard decorations (that have *nothing* to do with the holiday) It’s time to take the air out of this holiday decor trend.
OlegAlbinsky/iStock
For those of you who don’t live in the burbs, let us take a moment to explain this weird, horrible phenomenon.
Inflatables started popping up in suburban yards in the early 2000s. They were rudimentary to start, but today’s blow-up figures are huge things powered by motorized fans and are brightly lit from within.
“Sticking a fan up a snowman’s butt and shoving a lightbulb in right after does not constitute ‘bringing this holiday spirit to life,’” says Justin Riordan, owner of Portland, OR–based Spade & Archer Design Agency. “Be thoughtful with your decorations, not just willing to spend a mint on bad blow-up dolls.”
If you must indulge, we’ll give a pass for a solitary, puffy Santa or an air-filled runaway reindeer on your lawn. But where we draw the line is when Christmas inflatables veer into decidedly non-Christmas territory.
Meet the Minion inflatable with Santa hat. Or the Season’s Greetings Batman. Or the towering 8-foot holiday AT-AT of “Star Wars” fame.
Do any of these items have even the barest tangential relationship to the holidays? No!
And beyond their utter mindless commercialism, there’s the nuisance factor: They fill the sounds of neighborhoods with low-pitched hums as the hot air fills their balloon bodies. During the day, many of them return to their sad natural state of airlessness. This, in turn, makes front lawns look like a plastic graveyard of bad ideas.
Twerking Santas, and other battery-powered atrocities
youtube
For all the discussion of tariffs in 2018, we were sad not to see a single trade law enacted to somehow limit the import of twerking Santas.
These battery-powered abominations are the holiday equivalent of the Big Mouth Billy Bass. Press a button, and a tinny song blares while these sad figurines go through their preordained motions. Again and again.
And it’s not just the twerking Santa. It’s the Dancing Snowman, the Singing Christmas Tree, and the Santa Elf Hat Poop Emoji—as well as countless other animatronic atrocities.
How is anyone amused by these novelty toys designed for the lowest common denominator?
It’s become a holiday given that we all must chuckle at battery-operated “cheer,” which repeats ad infinitum until you want to drown yourself in a punch bowl of eggnog. And if you’re the one who isn’t guffawing at a lame piece of plastic passing gas to the tune of “Jingle Bells,” you’re the Grinch. Say whaaaat?
If you have one of these dumb decor items, please dispose of it immediately. They’re corroding your brain and slowly eating away at our holiday spirit.
Tinsel Take your tinsel and…
PoppyPixels/iStock
Why is this still a thing? What’s the point? OK, I suppose we get the point. Sparkle! Glitter! Pretty! But also: Big, freaking mess. Choking hazard. And impossible to get off the tree (and anything else) once you’ve spent 47 bajillion hours carefully stringing it on.
This holiday tree decoration—which is often openly hated—used to be made of sturdier stuff: tin-laminated sheet brass, for instance. Because of that, there was a time when tinsel was afforded by only the very wealthy. Not today’s tinsel, which is made of slippery, icky plastic.
“Tinsel is the epitome of cheap decor that bums people out,” says Erica Reiner, owner of E. Leigh Designs in Los Angeles.
So what’s the best way to display tinsel? In the trash!
Matchy-matchy Christmas tree decorations These trees are too perfect.
Martha Stewart
Lest you think we’re dull drones who lack sentiment and want conformity to rule Christmas, like Kim Jong Un, let us correct the notion: We appreciate things that don’t match.
And yet, the ideal of a perfect Christmas tree persists. Some might blame Martha Stewart. Others may finger Pinterest. Either way, there’s a sentiment among some holiday lovers that everything on a Christmas tree must be just so. The ornaments must be hung with precision and they must all match—whether it’s color, size, or shape.
If you’re stressing over a color palette for your tree, you’re doing it wrong. There’s much more fun to be had when your tree is an explosion of ornaments new and old, handcrafted and store-bought, in an array of colors.
Your tree doesn’t need a theme, people—it already has one. The theme is “Christmas tree.”
Creepy decorations “Come play with us, forever.”
DayOfTheDollies/Etsy
We simply can’t with this, y’all. If you’re not familiar with this niche holiday decor trend, picture your favorite horror movie monster/villain dressed as Santa. Mix in a dash of Hot Topic edginess. Throw it in a blender with the goth kids moping around the mall. The result is nothing you truly need to have in your house.
We’re not saying every holiday decoration needs to be merry and bright. And perhaps this stuff is necessary for the underserved market of Satanists who celebrate Christmas.
But do we really need our Halloween to creep into our Christmas? It’s a reverse Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup—two great tastes that don’t go so great together.
“If you want to explore your darker side, opt for a couple of quality pieces from Tim Burton’s ‘Nightmare Before Christmas‘ instead,” Reiner suggests.
Or you could just go watch “Mandy” instead.
Stephanie Booth contributed to this report.

There were a lot of Kodak moments for me this year. There was also a lot of horribleness around the world this year. In the interest of letting my readers get to know me a little better and sharing a little personal happiness from the year I decided to share 17 of my memorable moments from 2017! (All good, of course).
Processed with VSCO with m5 preset
Starting the year with a girl’s trip to NYC. Travelling with family is always hard (at least for me… actually just travelling in general is hard for me), but getting to spend some time making new memories in such a beautiful city was really special. We went right after New Years and all of the Christmas decorations were still up – going to New York during the holidays is a bucket list thing for me, because it’s SO insanely gorgeous and festive everywhere you look. I’d still like to go in December, but it was still pretty magical in January.
I got a new tattoo! She looks like a regular pin-up girl but there is SO much heart and love and thought that went into this girl. I have zero interest in explaining all of the little imagery I snuck in there because it was really catered to my personal experience in school! Basically – I got her in reflection of the person I’ve become through my education as I’ll be graduating and moving on after this year. I call her the girl almighty, and she’s pretty awesome.
I got a new job! Started and finished in fact by the time you’re reading this. I had the most wonderful experience working for Veterans Affairs Canada and I’m so sad to be moving on! It really opened my eyes to the world of possibilities in future employment. I had no clue about anything adult-work related because I had never worked in a really professional environment before, and despite what people may say about Canada’s public service, I learned SO much about working, professionalism, and growing through jobs at this position. It was great.
EVERY DAY I SPENT WITH CORDIE! My GOD I love her. And Butch who has actually been VERY affectionate of me lately. Cordie and Butch are my dogs and they are the sweetest, kindest, albeit sometimes most annoying, pooches on the planet. I love them with my whole heart because they make my every day life so so so much happier.
I saw Harry Styles Live on Tour! I got to one of the BEST albums of the year played in one of the COOLEST venues in Toronto! Bonus points: I’m a huge One Direction fan, love rock, love alternative, love pop, and I feel like Harry’s debut album was catered to my own personal taste. Bonus bonus points: we sat next to the most wonderful people and had a super fun night dancing and singing our hearts out, and going for fries after. It was everything a concert should be.
I went to my first blogger event! Back in July I was invited to Sephora’s grand opening event in Thunder Bay as PR! Insanity! To be fair it was more word of mouth (friend of a friend) who recommended me rather than reputation, but it was still so exciting! I loved every second of it and it made me so much more confident in my online work!
I saw the Canada 150 Firework show! I am not Canada 150’s greatest advocate, but the firework show at Fort William Historical Park was an experience to behold. It was INCREDIBLE, and I totally did not expect it to be! It was all set up like a carnival, kind of eye roll we’re celebrating colonialism with a carnival thing, but the show itself was set to the story of Canada’s development as a colonial nation – it definitely glossed over the uglier parts but it acknowledged the history and turned it into something really special and beautiful. That being said a lot of people watching it still can’t wrap their head around the fact that the lasting legacies of colonialism are far less beautiful, but that’s 2017 for ya.
I got braces. (!) This is kind of positive because I am SO privileged to be able to get braces and have the entire cost covered by my parents’ insurance! Also, I mean, it’s a humbling experience to have braces at 21. I feel uglier every time I smile, which is the opposite of what it should be, and it’s about 10x harder to feel confident and pretty – not so much because braces are embarrassing but just because I’m very aware of the amount of metal in my mouth, and I constantly have food in it. At the end of the day, it made me grow personally, and I’m sure I’ll only be glad I got them in the long run.
Summer days in Grand Marais. I am SO going to miss these when I move. I write about Grand Marais every summer because it’s so picturesque there, it’s like it’s out of a small town, seaside village (except it’s a lake). I have made so many happy memories in Grand Marais, I’ve eaten the best donuts and had the best walks, and just the best times. Nothing beats a day road trip to Grand Marais on a nice summer day. It’s SO special to me.
Meeting deer at Mission Marsh. I also write about Mission Marsh a lot! The deer here are so friendly and will come up and great you (for a little treat), and I love interacting with wildlife like that. I love that it’s just a little area, just slightly off the beaten path, where deer and humans have decided its cool to hang out sometimes. As someone who really loves deer, it’s so calming and sweet to have a little moment with some of my deer friends out there, and it always turns a bad day around. The deer are always there for me.
I presented at my first conference! That was huge. I was so anxious when I got in that I made my mom fly half way across the country (which is far in Canada), to come with me. I was the only one who brought their parent, and my voice and legs shook the whole time, but I loved what I was talking about, and I knew what I was talking about, and it was so confidence boosting. It made me realize that I really, really do love what I’m studying and I would love to continue having those conversations.
SO MUCH SCHOOL LOVE! I put all of this under one heading but this year I’ve just taken to school like never before. I’m here. I’m committed. I work for the school paper, I submit poems to the school literary paper, I’m a departmental mentor, I’m on the history society, I’m just there and I’m doing it! I never would have been nearly as involved in first year, or even second year so I just see it as a reflection of my personal growth and I’m so proud of me for it! PLUS! I actually love it ALL! SO! MUCH!
I normalized a 8km run! Whaaaat! Two years ago I couldn’t even run 3km anymore because my health had changed, I had gotten new allergies and developed asthma and had to find a new normal. Since then I’ve been reaaaally back and forth with my physical health as it fluctuates with my mental health but in 2017, especially at the end of the year, I got waaaaay more into it. Even though it’s regularly -20 and I’m allergic to the cold I get out and run at least 3 times a week. Naturally I’ve progressed to my easy run being a solid 8km which is insane! I owe all of my fitness debts to Niomi Smart and Karlie Kloss. Niomi gets me pumped to go outside and run, and go to fitness classes, and the latest Klossy work out vid has got me doing at home work outs at least twice a week. I almost have ABS for goodness sake! Who am I!
I explored an abandoned building! DANGER: don’t do this. Anyways I love that kind of stuff but it’s never something I really DO. So on the same night my friend and I went f-it and went to a picturesque place around town and took pictures of each other, we spontaneously went to an abandoned building in the same area. I climbed and played and explored and took MORE pictures and had the time of my life. MORE ILLEGAL ADVENTURES IN 2018? Hope so.
I decided to move to the U.K., and while I’m still in school and not quite ready for it, I’ve stuck with my plan and prepared and planned and applied for schools there. I’m still SO committed to the plan that I’ve started applying for jobs since I’ll be done school in T-minus 4 months. I’ve looked into schools, job banks, visas, flat rentals, etc etc etc. And I’m terrified and excited and while this didn’t really DO anything for me in 2017, I’ll bet it’s going to have a huge impact on my 2018.
I made my first $$ from Youtube! It was my one and only paycheck, and it’s pretty sad considering the time I put into it, but hey! I never ever planned for my blog or my Youtube to become an actual job so it was a nice little surprise!
Christmas 2017. Christmas time is always… special in my house! All of my mom’s family comes into town and we spend the day at my nonna’s house, and the rest of the holidays between there and my house. My own house becomes PACKED with family, and we all eat a lot, play trivia, and have a whole host of other Christmas traditions we uphold. We’re all getting a little bit older now and it’s hard to say how many more Christmases I’ll have like these, and while the stress of all the people sometimes gets the better of me I’m always happy to have these moments and memories.
Sorry for the spam of pictures of my face……….. thought some visuals might liven it up a little…….. ANYWAYS I’m SO excited for what 2018 has in store for me!
What’s your favourite moment for 2017 and what are YOU looking forward to next year?
Happy New Year! I hope 2018 is everything you want and more!
17 Moments from 2017 There were a lot of Kodak moments for me this year. There was also a lot of horribleness around the world this year.

My Year in Pictures: 2016
Having realised I posted so little last year, it’s time to get back into it with a lovely little memory post - my year in pictures, once more!
So in January we had just got back from travelling and had Christmas back in England, so really very little happened as we were very tired and broke and searching for jobs. But we saw our lovely friends who we’d missed loads over the last four months - I will always be grateful for those who stick around for us to come back to.
Gacy? Storge?
In February, we did what we do every year - make sure we don’t go out on Valentine’s Day because of the ridiculous prices and busy-ness, and went out for dinner for an anti-Valentine’s instead. 2 for 1 cocktails are fun when one of you has to drive ;)
George, Stacey, James and I (AKA Universally Challenged) lost at the pub quiz in the Comrades Club, though we really won as coming dead last means you get FOOD.
Tash, Beth and I also met up for Beth’s birthday, when we went to Soton for the ultimate student night in Jester’s - that student club where you have to wear old shoes because God knows what crap you’re going to get from the sticky floors in there.
In March, I took THE PLUNGE. One I had been wanting to take for years. I got a tattoo!! My little Mantine is on my left thigh, happily swimming around like the manta rays we swim with in Fiji on our round-the-world trip (though he is a little smaller than the ones we met). It was sore but not as bad as I thought… though doing it on your ribs like I thought I wanted originally might be a different story. This is a photo of it on the day:
And how could George, Stacey, James and I pass up a Misugo’s and Creams?
God knows what we did in April, other than watching Eurovision with Alec… where a face swap meant that a celebrity turned up out of the blue!
In fact, April (or really March 30th) saw me start my new job with the Haulfryn Group as a Marketing Executive, where I still am today.
In May, Beth came up to see me, and we took a lovely summery walk around Virginia Water Lake.
Then James and I made sure we went to Comicon in London, where we finally got to meet our idols, the Yogscast & Hat Films! They really were lovely, especially their man man Lewis, who made sure to talk to us for ages despite the hours-long queue behind us!
In June, Stef and I showed our mutual love/obsession with sushi by having a sushi-making session (though I may have got a bit tipsy and got impatient with all the fiddly rolling!).
For those of you who remember (or care) the Queen turned 90 in June, so at work we had a ‘dress like a royal’ day. I won and my fellow Marketer/graphic designer Hannah (AKA Kate Middleton) came second!
July marks the second half of the year, and also when my year started to pick up. That always seems to be the case with me - I do so much more exciting things in the second half! Though nothing could top my 4 months travelling, I’m sure.
James and I took advantage of my company being the owner of holiday parks throughout the UK and took a trip down to Paignton, Devon, to stay in a luxury lodge, relax, and see his lovely cousins who live down there. We even had a hot tub!!
We also finally met his cousins’ hairless kitties, who are actually gorgeous and not weird like so many people think about hairless cats. They were so friendly, though it is a bit weird stroking something without any fur! The female with a little bit of fur is named Lumi, and the completely bald male is Kuro (photo credit to Elise Preston for the latter).
Those eyes though.
James and I also took advantage of the lovely scenery around us and the hot Summery days to play Pokemon Go, as it had only just come out then!
I was also reunited with my uni girls again in Shoredich (2 out of 3 of them) and we had a lovely time, eating delicious street food and catching up (dat oversized bag wow)!
My nephew also turned 1 on the 16th of July, so my sister had a birthday party for him.
In August I saw the girls (and Freddy!) again at a Hong Kong Drinking Team gig in London; perfect location for all of us to meet up!
I also took time off work to spend time with my little sister Harriet at the beach…
…had more sushi and plum wine with Stef at Mikado’s…
…and saw the girls (all of them this time) again in London!)
Also in August, James and I took a day trip into London to take advantage of Harriet’s Merlin pass!
We had crocodile and ostrich burgers at Shaka Zulu (a cocktail, burger and chips for £10 in the middle of London, whaaaat?) and then went onto Maddam Toussards - somewhere I’d never been, but had wanted to ever since seeing loads of them dotted around countries you’d never even think they’d have them on our travelling adventures.
We met loads of celebrities there too #blessed.
With that chaotic month over, September didn’t slow down that much, with our friends Rosie and Josh having a leaving party before they jetted off to South America to do some travelling.
See my Facebook timeline for an amazing video of Josh’s dancing!
My sisters and I also took my dad out for a late Father’s Day trip into London to again take advantage of Harriet’s Merlin passes - we went to the London Dungeons and the Aquarium! The Dungeons were brilliant, having not been there for ages, - of course my dad pointed out every inaccuracy, and Amelia being pregnant meant she couldn’t go on the little rides they had in there, haha!
Beth also came down to go to one of James’ gigs…
…and I was sad to have to move offices in September, as my commute would be slightly longer and I’d miss reading by the beautiful Thames on my lunch breaks.
October saw Stef turn 23, and we had a big house party over her’s, which was great fun! Sam debated heavily with her mum, we took some great photos, and I saw Laura again for the first time in nearly 2 years. ^-^
We also went back down to Devon to see James’ cousins again…
…went to MCM again and met Tomska, another of our Youtube heroes…
…and finally I went down to Soton to go with the girls to Oceana for Halloween! We had such a good time at predrinks together in our posh little hotel rooms.
Sadly, James’ gran passed away at the end of September. However, she very lovingly left her home to James, and so we had spent the whole of October and November doing it up, so that we could finally live together after 7 whole years of being together. It took weeks of painting and sorting and carpets and quite a bit of our savings, but it was totally, completely worth it, just to be finally living together after so long.
In November, our lovely neighbour, Joe, installed our shower for us and put up the beautiful splashboards that we picked in a stunning slate colour.
November marked our 7 year anniversary - can you believe it?!
So, at the end of the month we went to the Ice Bar and Winter Wonderland, both of which we’d never been to before, so it was lovely and a completely new experience, going around one of the biggest Christmas markets in the UK.
And what anniversary would be complete without sushi…
Weirdly, PM Theresa May came to our work on Friday to open our new Maidenhead offices, being the constituent for Maidenhead. She had her funky shoes on and looks suitably confused. This may be when one of our managers asked “Is Brexit actually going to happen?”
December was SUCH a busy month. Not least because James and I FINALLY MOVED IN TOGETHER!! My cats tried to sabotage our efforts however by camping in my last pile of dirty laundry…
We moved in on the 2nd of December, and due to our efforts of the previous couple of months, it very quickly felt homely and cosy. We bought 2 sofas from the charity shop, put up the Christmas decorations, and - most importantly - made sure both our computers fit in the living room for optimal gaming time!
Despite being pretty ill the first week, it was great.
Our good friend Lynne even made us this lovely moving in present!
After all that excitement, I had a very early birthday party on the 10th of December, seeing all my friends in the local pub, The Squirrels.
I also made sure to see the girls from uni one last time this year in London for dinner and drinks.
In the middle of December, Haulfryn had a Christmas party, which I could take James along to. It was really fun - it was a masquerade mall in Reading, with a three-course meal and wine, as well as acrobats and other acts to keep as all entertained, and a casino for James to try his luck! Having been at Haulfryn for almost a year now, it’s nice to be able to go to a big event like this.
For my birthday this year, James really went all out. I had no idea what he had planned - only that we were going to London, and I had to wear my Pokemon dress! So I donned it and off we went.
First he took me to Sticks ‘n’ Sushi in Covent Garden for a late lunch - and as all I seem to eat is sushi you’ll know how incredible that must have been!
Mmmm big decanter of sake.
Then afterwards we got on the tube to Hammersmith, where the London Philharmonic Orchestra were playing… and what were they playing? Pokemon!
It was incredible - they played music from all of the games, telling the stories of the games throughout, and showing a lot of the game footage on their screen. It was incredibly nostalgic, amazingly well done, and even if you aren’t a fan of Pokemon, the Philharmonic are obviously incredible, and so the music was flawless.
I couldn’t have asked for a better (or geekier) birthday. Thank you James.
On the 23rd, Hong Kong Drinking Team had been asked to headline the ‘best of the year’ show in the Facebar, and so I went along - and they didn’t disappoint. While most of the acts were heavy, James and his band dressed up as Christmas characters (James: Santa; Jack: Jesus; Dave: sexy Christmas pudding,#; Luke: Bongle the Bear from Rainbow (he thought it was a reindeer in the fancy dress shop); and Charlie: sexy elf). And boy, was Charlie a sexy elf. They did Santa Baby and Charlie was especially camp. My favourite gig of theirs for the whole year!
Christmas was incredibly special this year, as for the first time James and I didn’t have to balance our days - we were just together. As cheesy as it sounds, it was magical!
For Christmas Eve, we went to a onesie party up a the Squirrels to see in the big day.
Christmas Day saw us opening our stockings together, and then going to the Squirrels for Christmas drinks.
Afterwards we had a lovely Christmas dinner with the Skinners and a chilled out evening.
On Boxing Day, after seeing my Mum and Amelia, James and I had my dad and Harriet over, as my dad hasn’t had a family Christmas in a few years. It was great - we played Cards Against Humanity (which my dad loved!), I cooked, and James’ parents came over late afternoon.
The last few days of the year were just as exciting. On the 30th, it was the Squirrels’ landlady’s birthday, and so we had an 80s night up the pub!
James also met Jess’ South African boyfriend Adrian, and now I’m worried about us staying together… they have a proper bromance going on!
Seeing in the New Year was just as great, with karaoke, dancing, and lots of booze.
And lastly, as I put on a bit of weight travelling and got out of my fitness regime, I took up running this year rather than paying for the gym. It’s amazing how much more you want to exercise when you don’t have to travel as well! I smashed my distance goal for the year, and running has now become part of my lifestyle as well as an easy way to keep healthy.
Thank you 2016, it’s been an incredible year. Here’s to the next - the first one of me being a ‘proper’ adult, responsible for a home. Gulp.
