HIHI uhh unstable-and-gay is one of my friends and my OTHER friend got me into WF, I heard from said friend that like. in order to truly get what the hell is happening in WF you Really gotta have a Guy Who Already Knows. I’ve only been playing truly maybe 1-3 weeks now (I tried before last year but it didn’t work for me at the time) lmao. my fav quest I’ve done so far is the Duviri Paradox, and I’m striving to become one of the maximum of 2 sevagoth mains lmao. I’ve been having a ton of fun with it so far and uhh. hi do you have any general tips for new players or like, any favourites you wanna rant about : )

HIHIHI! I will gladly rant to anyone and everyone about Warframe. All my tips are outdated because I know they changed progression but here goes:

Upgrade from the mrk-1 weapons if you haven't already. The regular versions can be bought for credits in the store.

Learn to mod! Modding works of percentages so you have to figure out what each piece of equipment is good at. Or just hit the automatic mod button and call it a day, that should get you through most of the game's story.

Whatever people say about meta basically only applies to endgame missions. Almost every warframe is viable for regular play if you know how to use them. THe one weapon I've found to be genuinly unplayable is the Stug, so tread a little more carefully around weapons.

Primes are nice to have, but not required. I am used to a time where Primes were far harder to get ahold of though, so picking one to work towards isn't a bad idea! Also, the one exception to this is Ash Prime. I don't care he's vaulted, he is genuinely easier to get then base Ash.

best way to get mastery is to rank up every weapon and warframe avalible to you. But also, the highest mastery you ever really need is 16, they stop gateing weapons after that.

Digital Extremes has the funiest fucking way of retconing lore. I don't know where you are in the game rn, so that's all I will say.

My favorite characters are the sentients lol. I cannot rant about most of them without spoiling the end of the game though. But uh, here's a list of my blorbos if you'd like more about any of these characters! Please include what quest ur on though, so I don't spoil you RIP. I also know everything about everyone else up until the most recent update.

For being a Cephalon, he dreams far too much. Dreaming should be left to the Tenno, still human enough to do so. A piece of technology should not be dreaming--it should be performing tasks. He knows this, but he also knows the Operator values him as more than just a Cephalon meant to run their Orbiter. They see him as a close friend and confidant, something he is unendingly grateful for.

Still, he longs for more. He dreams of fighting alongside his Operator, keeping them safe and sound. He almost wants to relive the glory of Ordan Karris once more.

Does he want to toil up the past, though? Ordan Karris was a ruthless killer. Ordan Karris killed for money, for glory, for the thrill of the kill. He does not want to expose his beloved Operator to ruthlessness like that. They do not deserve to see the darker side of him. He knows they are aware of his past, and that they acknowledge it, but he would rather hide it away and attempt to forget it than face it once again.

To even have the slightest chance at it, he would need a mobile platform. A Warframe, perhaps? He doubts he would be able to control one as is, but maybe he could come up with something to work in the stead of Transference. He knows the Infestation itself can control a frame easily: the memories of fighting the Infested-minded Mesa on Eris reemerges.

If he could find a way to control the Infestation, he would have a shot at controlling the Warframe.

An idea sprouts. One he is hesitant to acknowledge, but one that may be necessary.

He opens a link. “Helminth? I have a...favor to ask.”

He decides on attempting to garner himself a more primitive Warframe, one of the first ones created: Excalibur. Being one of the first accessible Warframes meant one would be far more adaptable to other means of piloting, as they were more catered to freshly-waking Tenno rising from the Second Dream.

But how does he get one?

He could ask the Operator themself, but he would rather keep it a secret; he would prefer to make sure the idea actually works out before getting their hopes up. Perhaps one of their contracts could help?

Scrutinously, he scrolls through their list of ‘friends’ they have acquired over the years. Ergo Glast. Cressa Tal. Paladino. Cephalon Simaris.

He pauses on Simaris. Simaris has access to Warframe parts and blueprints, but they are far more advanced variations. Plus, he thinks, Simaris would likely be adverse to his idea overall. The Cephalon believes Cephalons should remain as intangible entities, meant for cataloguing and studying.

Teshin? Teshin provides the Tenno with easy access to early Warframes, but being a Dax soldier, he is wary of speaking to him. He knows the Tenno trust the older warrior dearly as he guides them through their training, but knowing that he is one of them churns his mind.

Who else is there? Maroo? Maroo is far more focused on Ayatan treasures than Warframes. Suda? No. Cy? The Railjack Cephalon is far too enveloped in commandeering and maintaining the Railjack to be of help. Darvo and Clem?

He pauses. Darvo and Clem would be excellent for this task. Darvo’s tactics of being sly and squirmy with deals means he could find out where an Excalibur was being held. The Operator would be very willing to help Darvo and Clem out with something. Perhaps he could convince the duo to lie about their true contractor?

He chuckles to himself. So long as Darvo and Clem were being paid fairly, they would do damn near anything.

Once again, he opens a link.

“Hey. Tenno,” Darvo’s voice rattles through their comm link. “You got a moment?”

Anxiously, Ordis watches his Operator pause in their task of scrubbing filth and debris off their Kubrow-- onto the floor, no less!-- to be swept up by the domestic drones wandering about later on. “Sure do. What’s up?”

“Your--uh, I mean, I have a favor to ask,” the dealer catches himself before he slips. “We got a hint about the Corpus getting their hands on an Excalibur.” He pauses for dramatic effect. “Clem and I wanna know if you’d be willing to help us nab it before they get too far.”

The Operator responds without hesitating. “Of course! Last thing we need is more meddling like Alad’s been prone to. When were you planning on doing the deed?”

Darvo pauses, giving Ordis a chance to relay information to him on a separate link. As soon as possible, please.

“As soon as possible,” Darvo parrots. “We, uh, have something figured out with Teshin to get it fixed up and sent to a fresh Tenno in need afterwards.”

Excellent cover.

“Got it,” the Operator responds, already heading to their arsenal. “Ordis, can you plug in their coordinates?”

“Already under way, Operator.” He had them calculated as soon as Darvo’s link had opened.

“Alright. Fellas, we’ll be there shortly. Stay safe.”

With the mission complete and the Excalibur in storage, he festers with excitement. He desperately wants to begin trying out experimental procedures, but knows better than to. He must wait for the right moment, the right time, to begin the process.

He turns his attention back to Helminth. “Are you...sure this is a good idea? That this will even work?”

“Fragile thing,” Helminth rumbles back. “Nothing is ever promised. I am simply stating that there is a possibility that the connection will work; that a faux Transference link could be somewhat created.”

“And, uh, if it doesn’t work?”

“Rather irreparable.”

“And what does that entail?” he asks fretfully.

“Possible corruption, akin to your ‘friend’.”

He knows who Helminth is referring to: Jordas. Memories threaten to resurface, though be brutally snuffs them out before they do.

“Are you sure you would make this risk?” the beast continues.

“I have done the calculations,” Ordis states. “The likelihood of corruption is significantly low. The reason Jordas was corrupted was because the Infestation was hell-bent on taking over. I do believe that, under control, it would be less of a threat.” He pauses. “I trust your abilities.”

“So be it.”

I fuckin love your hlvrai/wf au, and you got me wondering stuff. Like, is gordon a warframe? Or like, an operator piloting a warframe the same way a streamer controls a player character?

and he’s the operator, yeah! thats... the short answer, anyway. the full deal is pretty major spoilers so im gonna throw up a cut JUST IN CASE but

yeah, the main thing im running with right now is gordon being an adult tenno, piloting the frames! ive toyed with the concept of him actually being an umbra frame without an operator bcuz of the whole ‘the operators are children!11!!!!1!1!’ thing is kinda hard to work with, but its not uncommon to see ppl retcon their ops as being adults instead of liek....12........ plus i feel like it just makes more sense for this au :>  as far as Gordon Lore TM for this au, honestly, not much has changed-- he’s experienced all the events of the main quests, the only real difference is that he wouldve been running into most of the science team (sans coomer, since he’s his ship cephalon) riiight around. hm. definitely lategame, but im willing to bet before jovian concord, cuz vik and i had the idea of him only starting to suspect benrey of being a sentient after reading thru alad’s journals and finding out they can mimic people... so somewhere in there. post-sacrifice but pre-ropalolyst. 

i know he’s got an excal prime, but he uses the default excal skin cuz hes humble about it....... and he’d probly be like. steel meridian and ceph suda aligned? i doubt he’d vibe with the red veil after chains of harrow. he’s definitely in good standing with the ostrons and solaris, but i dont think he’s too keen on simaris. 

also joshua exists in this au as well! a series of unfortunate events led to his adoption, but he means the world to him and gordon somehow does a surprisingly good job of balancing being a space mercenary and raising a toddler (coomer helps as much as a computer is able to, but alas, that’s not much)

Aight, doing this- 1. In order: Octavia, Nekros Prime, Excalibur, Saryn Prime, Rhino Prime 2. Most definitely Octavia and Saryn in the top spots. I have several others i really like past that but i’d probably go with Gauss, Trinity and Equinox! 3. Either Octavia or Trinity really - love how both of them can handle pretty much anything independently-- 4. I mentioned Octavia already, but aside from her my top used equipments are Arca Plasmor, Pyrana Prime and Paracesis. Djinn is also practically always with me, and i rarely use any Archgun other than the Imperator Vandal. 5. I change equipments really, really often and i like a lot of my weapons but Pyrana Prime is soo satisfying to use. Arca Plasmor’s been feeling a little underpowered lately, though: i’ve been picking the Bubonico a lot ever since it first came out, instead. 6. Nope, not really - all my actual loadouts are for fashion/articula purposes only and i always just change my equipments on the side. 7. Djinn is by far always the most useful, but i do love keeping pets; infested Deimos critters, Kavats, MOAs- though probably my favourite will always be my first pet, the Helminth Kubrov <3 8. Probably Cressa Tal - she doesn’t do A LOT in game, given, but i like a lot how she’s able to sound, act human and stay tough even with practically her whole race branding her as a defective scum worthy only of death. I always like helping her out- 9. Oh BOY does the Sentient tileset from RJ missions look so boo fucking good, i’d stay there for hours. But, picking from the more common ones, definitely the revamped Corpus Deadlock maps - you can actually get lost in them, and i love how many interesting details you can notice if you slow down to just look around for a while. 10. Survival, by far. Arbitration Survival, even better - no loading screens, endless chaos, nice loot. As for used WF, while Octavia may struggle a little when you’re not alone, Saryn is an absolute god out there. 11. Ivara by far. Get your Prowl game on, build power strength and Preparation, spam those zipline arrows in any larger area; and there you have your permastealth Warframe with none of the drawbacks. The recent addition of the insta-hack ability from Helminth just made things even easier. 13. It really depends a lot on the mission level, but Nova is pretty fucking useful if you’re going to rush any defense mission - if we’re talking high level, though, i’m picking someone who can heal that defense objective. Mobile Defense, pretty much anyone but definitely Limbo if i’m going to carry hard (just keep nullifiers away from me). Excavations, lately i’m just doing those for fissures and in that case it’s full range Equinox time. High level,same as above. 14. Nekros. Really, zombie boy there carried my resource game so hard in early game that i should build a damn statue of him out of rare materials right in the middle of my Orbiter. But lately, since pretty much everyone and their brother has a looter Nekros or Hydroid to bring around, i’ve been filling spot with a full range Prowl Ivara to steal some more loot on the side. 15. Started out with Meridian for reasons i mentioned already, and it made sense to side with Red Veil too at that point, even if i don’t really trust them that much. Over my progression i also built a good relationship with Loka and Perrin - purely commercial as i used to sell their slightly-less-common augments for plats back in the day. Suda and Hexis are so, so much cooler though and i’ll probably switch eventually.

The always awesome @operatordevavani and I met up to trade, and we ended up just hanging out chatting and doing goofy shit in their dojo.  We eventually ran a few missions without either of our computers dying.  Yay, success!  We should do this again soon. :D I was tempted to invite @johauna-darkrider to our little shindig but they were in the Void the entire time.

I need to add more of my WF artist friends in game and/or steam so we can goof off some more.  :3 But I’m actually a bit intimidated by them and their l33t skillz. Um, so yeah, if you want to add me, I’m xiaodenden in game.

Ergo treats Viri as a cat - she can come and go as she pleases, naturally she still accompanies him on business meetings, but Ergo understands the value of letting her mingle with other Tenno. Viri's slight ignorance to the world around her occasionally endears others to confess certain information to her that they would not tell to a more established person. Viri herself is pretty aloof about all the secrets and things people tell her - she is still in the process of learning to care about the world. She has a few friends she can trust, but working with Corpus has made her very aware of how fake people are. Though, she understands the Perrin are different and appreciates them and especially appreciates Ergo's kindness and patience with her.

so to answer what it is: this is actually just a captura shot of about 10-12 vauban vortexes stacked on each other and at an angle where vauban is hidden by the vortex's bloom lol (bloom intensity set to 50)

Ok, so, I am still salty about our Tenno kinda not giving a shit but I like how there is a difference between Operator and Drifter: Operator does seem sadder and more nostalgic about the life they could have had, meanwhile Drifter is tired of all the bs and wants to put it behind them. I really want to know what did Drifter do while stranded in the Void...

Definitely have warmed up to the new syndicate, I am only rank 3 but I can see the story and the characters unraveling. As always, drip feeding lore crumbs, I like that. but I'm worried once I'm rank 5 I might as well forget, but on the other hand I hope another update will come similar to Deimos Arcana. Content creators complain about "content islands" I'm here complaining about "lore islands". When Yonta mentions Suda? I want to tell her about Cephalon Suda!!! When I find out anything about Albrecht Entrati? I want to run to Deimos and talk to Mother... or at least Loid.

I bought most of the new stuff so I can't speak on the grind... idk I'm used to WF being grindy and RNG sucking and I tend to take things slow. Or just buy something if I feel too desperate :')

Bugs suck and I feel sorry for everyone who spends 1 hour in a mission only to fail or be forced to abort.

Focus rework is ok, fighting angels helps me get used to the new mechanics. Need to focus farm, though, I was totally underprepared in that regard.

Hmm... what else. Eximus units definitely are more annoying now, especially when I'm doing spy vaults for MR trash leveling and I struggle to take down one.

AoTZ is similar to Heart of Deimos in that you get a quest that is an introduction to a new world, syndicate and characters

but the difference is

Deimos isn't THE most important place to the Tenno, lorewise...

Meanwhile the Zariman

our operator really went from "this place sucks!" to "I guess I'll stay :)" in 5 minutes

DE could have seized the opportunity of a sort of reverse-standing building

usually you have to have the NPCs warm up to you

but what if the NPCs REALLY REALLY wanted you to stay and as you leveled the syndicate your character becomes more and more ok with the idea of staying on the Zariman

granted I haven't leveled up a single standing rank but...

considering how fast we became the defenders of the Zariman, I don't expect any mindblowing character development

oh well, at least the new void shenanigans give fodder for my OCs

ill just write them with the drama and pain and suffering i want them to experience, im an artist, its what i do
